Lots of Las Vegas visitors want to visit the South Rim but don't because it's more than 270 miles from town. That's about to change because now there are airplane tours to this rim that take just 60 minutes to reach it, thus turning this adventure into an easy 1-day excursion.

Daily Flights

This airplane tour departs three or more times a day every day of the year. It goes over Lake Mead, Hoover Dam and the Grand Canyon before landing at Grand Canyon National Park Airport in Tusayan, the small town that sits adjacent to the Park. It's a great flight over and savvy travelers will try to sit on the left side of the aircraft in order to see even more of the Canyon.

There are several variations of this tour. The cheapest is the basic one and it includes a 2.5-hour bus tour inside the National Park. There's another option that comes with a 2.5-hour Jeep 4x4 tour and it covers more of the Park's famous lookouts and landmarks than the bus. Of the two, I prefer the Jeep because I think it's the more efficient way to get around.

The last option is the most expensive and comes with a helicopter tour from the South Rim to the North Rim and back via the Dragoon Corridor, which is the widest and deepest section of the Canyon. This tour also includes a bus tour inside the Park that is similar to the most basic option's. No other tour compares to the views, thrills and value you get from this particular package.

Types of Aircraft

Airplanes used on these flights are either a de-Havilland Twin Otter or a Beechcraft 1900D. The de-Havilland is totally customized for sightseeing. Its wings are attached to the top of the aircraft so you can see below. In addition, its cabin and windows are oversized so you can comfortably enjoy the flight and the view. Seating is challenging as there are two seats on one side and one on the other.

The Beechcraft is a bit more like a jet with it's wings attached to the body and not the roof. Windows are oversized and the cabin is very sleek. It's also a longer-bodied aircraft and all seats are window seats because there's only one on each side. Tours that utilize the Beechcraft tend to cost more so be prepared for the extra expense. Frankly, both aircraft have their pros and cons so pick the one that works for you.

These airplane tours are all-inclusive and come with all taxes, fees, surcharges and Park entrance costs. Transfers to and from your Las Vegas hotel are also included, as is lunch and a professionally trained pilot-guide. The de-Havilland aircraft include trip narrations that have been translated in up to 10 languages, including Chinese, Japanese, German, French and more.

Conclusion

I hope this article about Grand Canyon airplane tours proved helpful as you plan your National Park trip. Frankly, planes are the best way to get to this rim because it only takes 1 hour. In contrast, going by bus or rental car takes up to 5.5 hours one-way with the total roadtrip clocking in at 11 hours! I recommend you book these flights over the Internet and in advance as they regularly sell out during the summer months. So let's get airborne. It's going to be one grand adventure!

Las Vegas is a terrific location from which to take a Grand Canyon helicopter tour. But don't settle for a basic flight. Instead, take one that lands at the bottom and get ready for the trip of a lifetime.

So Close!

Las Vegas is just 125 miles from the Canyon and it's a distance that helicopters can do in 45 minutes. En route, you'll fly over Lake Mead, Hoover Dam, the Colorado River and some of the most pristine parts of the Mojave Desert.

But what makes these flights super special is the fact that they can fly below the rim and land (such flights are banned at the South Rim, which is located in Arizona near the town of Tusayan). Even more, there's a bunch of great add-ons you can option.

The most affordable landing tour goes to the bottom for a Champagne picnic. Bottom time is 30 minutes, which is plenty of time to toast the Canyon and explore the base, cliffs and the nearby Colorado River. Then there's the option to add a boat ride and the Skywalk to the package.

Glass Bridge

The Skywalk is the all-glass bridge that lets you walk 70 feet past the edge until you are standing 4,000 feet over the bottom. The views from the bridge are spectacular, especially of Eagle Point and the Canyon to the north.

There are two kinds of Vegas helicopter tours. One is basic and the other is deluxe. The basic departs from Boulder City, which is a 30-minute shuttle ride from Vegas. The deluxe, by contrast, conveniently departs from The Strip and includes hotel pick up and drop off by limousine. Finally, the deluxe includes an extended tour over the Las Vegas Strip.

Both the basic and the deluxe use the superior EcoStar 130 helicopter. What makes this aircraft fantastic is that it's 20% larger than standard choppers. The extra size enables it to be outfitted with stadium-style seats and a 180-degree wraparound windshield.

RSVP

I do recommend you book landing tours early. They have a tendency to sell out. My advice is too purchase these tours at least two weeks in advance. The best time is actually after you have your hotel room booked. This way you'll be sure to get the best flights and the best seats at the best price.

I also recommend you book your flight via the Internet. This is where the discounts are and you can save up to 35 percent. The reason for this is that you are being rewarded a discount for self-serve. Key thing to remember, however, is to complete you booking online in order to qualify for the special rate.

Conclusion

I hope this article about Las Vegas helicopters that land at the bottom of the Canyon helped. My recommendation is take a deluxe flight that departs from the Vegas Strip and includes an extended tour over the Strip from the Stratosphere Tower to the Luxor Pyramid. And make sure to book online and in advance. These trips are in high demand and sell out frequently.

Many people fail to realize how large canyons can be. They also fail to appreciate the natural beauty of these creations. When you want to experience this Nevada wonder in infinite detail, you may consider touring it by taking the only vehicle equipped for such travel. You can sign up to tour on one of the Grand Canyon helicopters and fly over this creation without having to climb the formations or ride a donkey down to its bottom.

You might wonder if it is safe to travel on one of these vehicles. As you can find out online, the pilots that handle each helicopter are trained to fly safely. They know how to avoid flying into the rocks or brushing past the cliffs. You can sit in the copter and look out without fear of crashing or being in danger.

When you look out on the canyons, you could see wildlife and formation that you have never before witnessed. For example, if you have never seen flocks of deer traveling together, you may see such wildlife by riding on a copter. You might take in the sights at your leisure while allowing the trained professionals to navigate the vehicle.

Likewise, the canyons are full of cacti. These exotic plants do not grow in many places in the country. If you would like to see the natural vegetation, this touring option can be the ideal choice for you and your travel companions. The copter can sit several people all at once.

If the cost is a concern, you may be interested in package deals that allow you to save money. When you go online, you may consider the package deals available for purchase. The deals are updated routinely, giving you a chance to find one that suits your budget. The package deals are sometimes cheaper during the off-season during the busier travel seasons.

You also may wonder what sites you will see as you take one of these touring packages. The copter will fly over formations like the Dragoon Corridor, Lake Mead, and Hoover Dam. You can visit these formations without having to drive to them or take another form of transportation like a bus or taxi. The pilots will fly from rim to rim, giving you the chance to see all of these sights in one trip.

Booking such a tour can be easy when you visit the website of the company that offers this service. You can chat with an online agent who can answer questions about pricing and other amenities. The chat option is available regularly throughout the day. You may also click on links on the company's website to find out information on your own.

Tours of the Grand Canyon can be a way to see this natural formation up close and personal. You might see wildlife and vegetation that you never have before seen. You likewise could look at the formations that make up unique landscapes. The pilots who fly tourists around the canyons are trained to navigate the area skillfully.

A total chip or even the entire device can collapse, if just one very small circuit within an integrated chip stops working or fails. Wouldn't it be fantastic, if it could repair itself, and repair itself so quickly that the user never realized there was a fault?

A self-healing system has been developed by a team of engineers from University of Illinois. It is capable of reinstating electrical conductivity to a faulty circuit in less time than it takes to flicker. Aerospace engineering professor Scott White and materials science and engineering professor Nancy Sottos are the leaders of this team of researchers. They disclosed their results in the journal Advanced Materials.

"It simplifies the system," said chemistry professor Jeffrey Moore, a co-writer of the paper. "Rather than having to build in redundancies or to build in a sensory diagnostics system, this material is designed to take care of the problem itself."

Now-a-days manufacturers are putting as much density onto a chip as possible because electronic devices are evolving to execute more advanced tasks. Because of this kind of density, reliability is compromised. For example, failure stemming from unstable temperature cycles as the device operates or exhausts. The entire device can be shut down because of a failure at any point.

"In general there's not much avenue for manual repair," Sottos said. "Sometimes you just can't get to the inside. In a multi-layer integrated circuit, there's no opening it up. Normally you just replace the whole chip. It's true for a battery too. You can't pull a battery apart and try to find the source of the failure."

Except some significant applications – like instruments or vehicles for space or military functions where electrical failures cannot be replaced or repaired, most other consumer devices are intended to be replaced with some frequency, adding to electronic waste issues.

In the past, a system for self-healing polymer materials was developed by the Illinois team and they opted to adapt their technique for conductive systems. They disseminated very small microcapsules which are tiny as 10 microns in diameter, on top of a gold line acting as a circuit. When a cleft inseminates, the microcapsules break open and release the liquid metal contained inside. To reinstate electrical flow, the liquid metal fills up the gap in the circuit.

"What's really cool about this paper is it's the first example of taking the microcapsule-based healing approach and applying it to a new function," White said. "Everything prior to this has been on structural repair. This is on conductivity restoration. It shows the concept translates to other things as well."

Because of the immediate filling of the crack by the liquid metal, the current flow is interrupted for mere microseconds by a failure. It is attested by the researchers that 90% of their samples healed to 99 percent of initial conductivity, even with a small amount of microcapsules.

Being localized and autonomous are the other advantages of the self-repairing system. Only those microcapsules are opened, which are intercepted by crack, so repair only takes place at the point of damage. In addition to that, no human interference or diagnostics is needed, which is a blessing for those applications where accessing a cleft for repair is not possible, such as a battery, or searching for the source of a failure is very difficult, such as an air- or spacecraft.

In case you have not done well in CAT, don't get disappointed. CAT is not the only gateway to career in Management, there are more avenues to look up to. One of them is to appear for MAT, 2016. With a good score in MAT, there are greater chances that you will land up in a good MBA institution and have a good career ahead.

Most of the students appearing for CAT are not aware about MAT. They have a wrong perception that MAT will not lead you to a good B School. It's a wrong conceived notion. Many good MBA colleges use Management Aptitude Test (MAT) score to admit students in MBA and other management courses run by them like PGDM etc. MAT is a national level test which was approved by. Govt. of India, Ministry of HRD.in 2003. MAT score is being used by more than 600 national and international B-Schools to admit students to MBA. So MAT can be your stepping stone for a bright future in Management field.

MAT is conducted as the National Entrance Test for admission to MBA and other equivalent programmes by the All India Management Aptitude Testing Service (AIMATS), New Delhi, on the behalf of various participating institutes approved by the Government of India, MAT results are widely accepted. Most of the AICTE approved Management Institutes, Management departments of Government and private universities and All India Management Association - Centre for Management Education (AIMA-CME) recognise and accept MAT.

Many students are in dilemma that what is the basic difference between CAT and MAT or which is a better option for getting admission in MBA/PGDM. The truth behind the question is that , that CAT gives admission in top business schools like IIM's , FMS, etc and is very tough to crack. Not even 1% of the students appearing in CAT exam are able to get admission in high repute B Schools . For rest of the students , MAT is a good option. MAT is a gateway to many other good B schools and is easier to crack. MAT exam is all about Time management and aptitude.

MAT is conducted at various test centers across India and at certain overseas centers also. Each year MAT is conducted four times, in the months of February, May, September and December. This is a two and a half hour test and its score remains valid for one year.

Admission to good MBA/PGDM programmes is available on the basis of MAT score. If you are considering pursuing MBA in 2016 based on February or May,2015 MAT score, then many B schools across the country could offer you admission in their MBA/PGDM You could also try your luck in the comparatively new campuses of some of the top ranked B schools.

Many high repute Business schools consider MAT score for MBA as well as PGDM. The success story of MAT is a long way back. Every year lakhs of students sit in the MAT exam and get admissions in good B Schools. Hence don't loose hope and prepare well for the MAT exam and have a flourishing career ahead.

The schools with placement of high pay packages in good companies are the ones who are considered to be the best. The success rate of such institutions is also high in the pyramid.

Thirdly, the most essential resource for any institution is the Faculty. The faculties with high credentials and experience are mandatory for B schools. They should use innovative pedagogy for teaching and should have impressive profiles to add to. The faculties should encourage the students to take new projects and have market exposure.

Fourthly. The institution must have best infrastructure with all the modern amenities including hostel facilities. The wi-fi campus, good library with voluminious books, e-resources, etc are the facilities which should be available for the students.

In today's competitive environment, everyone is searching for the pathways which can enable them to achieve their goals. The most difficult question for any graduate today is the selection of right course for him. Its the right time for the institutions to lure the graduates towards the various Management course. The biggest dilemma which management aspirant face is- MBA or PGDM? The confusion is enhanced with numerous business schools which have emerged claiming high achievements and placements for the students. It has become very difficult for aspirants to first chose the course (MBA or PGDM) and then to select the best college amongst the various colleges.

The most important aspect for any graduate is to understand the difference between MBA and PGDM terms of Recognition as well as qualitatively.

A Masters in Business Administration (MBA) is a degree course offered by the colleges affiliated to the universities and is approved by UGC and AICTE while the Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) is a diploma course which is offered by the institutes and is recognised by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).

MBA is a two years degree program which is affiliated to any of the recognized university whether foreign or Indian. The complete curriculum of the course is as per the university norms and regulations. The fees structure of the course is designed by the university itself.

Post Graduate Diploma in Management(PGDM) is a diploma course offered by institutions which are an autonomous body. It means that they are not affiliated to any university. Such institutions cannot offer MBA degree .They offer diploma to the students. The curriculum to be taught is designed by the institute itself instead of university. The institute has complete say in designing the fee structure. There is no influence of university on the fee of such programs due to which the tend to demand high free structure..

An MBA from any institute with good repute and infrastructure is a good option for graduates. Moreover only MBA's can apply for government jobs.

As MBA is a university course , it has an added advantage of experienced faculty and infrastructure. The college has to fulfill all the norms of the university and has to abide all its rules and regulations. Moreover the fees structure is also less. At the same time, a PGDM from institutes like ISB, IPE, XLRI or such top institutes has a brand value and are readily accepted by the industry. But its not worth pursuing PGDM from other B Schools. PGDM's are acceptable only in the corporate world but one cannot apply for government jobs. The fee structure of PGDM's is also very high.

Still The big question is :Which is the best MBA or PGDM?

Well, the scholars says, the course value depends on the quality rendered by the institute whether it is MBA or PGDM. If the institute is inculcating quality and professionalism amongst the students, then the course is worth , irrespective it is MBA or PGDM

Companies are concerned about talent. It does not bother them whether it's an MBA or PGDM, But of course , if an individual wish to go abroad for work MBA will not have recognition problems while PGDM students might have to take equivalence certificate.

Hence , while choosing the institution, aspirants should look for the brand of the business school. A Brand can take them to high place in their career.
