Bed sheets are not just bed covers. They are actually investments that can make your room sophisticated looking and expensive. Buying a set of sheet is not as simple as pulling off a nice looking sheet in the department store. There are factors that should be considered. These are: the type of bed (twin, twin XL, queen or king size bed), the height of the mattress, the color of the bed sheets, the texture, the weave and the thread count. These factors should be noted before going out to buy a set of sheet in order to prevent making wrong purchases.
Type of Bed
Determining the type of bed will help in choosing the appropriate fit for the mattress. All bed manufacturers follow a standard in creating the different types of bed. The measurements are as follows: for a twin bed, it is usually 39X75 inches; for twin XL, it is 39 X80 inches; for a full sized bed, it is 54X75 inches; for a queen bed, it is 60X80 inches; for a king bed, it is 76X80 inches and for a California king is 72X84 inches.
Height of bed
The height of bed is very helpful in preventing hanging bed sheets. Hanging sheets are caused by wrong pocket size. To get the ideal pocket size of a certain type of bed, one should simply measure the bed's height from top to bottom with a standardized measuring tape. Usually, the pocket size is not printed on the sheet's cover thus it is good to know what is the measurement of the standard and deep type of sheet pockets. The standard pocket size available in the market measures 12 to 14 inches deep while the deep pocket sheet measures between 15 to 22 inches deep.
Color
It is advisable to choose a bed sheet that does not counteract the color of the room. This makes the ambiance smooth and relaxing. Sheets that are made of 100% cotton are great buy because they do not fade easily and can easily complement any bedroom theme.
Texture
Bed sheets can be made from cotton, silk and other type of materials that can provide optimum comfort to its user. The sheet's texture does not just help one in attaining deep sleep but also make a bed look extra-ordinary. The thread count can help make the texture smoother and finer. The principle here is that the more thread count, the better the quality of the sheet's texture.
Weave
Jacquard and damask weaves are the most splendid and lavish type of weaves that can give a bed a rich man feel. These weaves have special looms that create distinct stripes.
Simple weaves are also available. These are solid sateen weave (made by simply weaving a single vertical thread over four to eight horizontal threads; this weave is soft but not that durable), pinpoint weave (made by weaving two threads over a single thread; this weave is not as soft as sateen weave) and Percale weave (made by weaving a yarn that is crossed over another yarn; it may feel rough at first but as time goes by it softens up).
Thread Count
Sheets come in different thread count (300, 400, 450, 500 or 600). The idea here is that the higher the threat count, the smoother the sheet becomes. The most durable type of sheet with more than 250 threads is cotton (Egyptian, Pima, Supima and Organic cotton) while a single ply sheet is the softest.

The great thing about winter? It's cheaper to buy Las Vegas bus tours to the Grand Canyon. Especially if you plan to do the trip in 2014.
What do I mean by this? Simply put, bus tour prices are always lower in winter because it's considered "slow" season ("high" season is spring and summer).
Granted, the price drop isn't staggering, but in this economy every penny counts. Further, by booking that bus trip now, you lock in that savings permanently.
One of the major questions that come up by travelers considering using this strategy is "What happens if I cancel my trip?" My answer is make sure your trip has a good cancel policy.
Let me go deeper into this.
The best Vegas bus tour companies will let you cancel within 24 hours and give you a full refund. Or, if weather forces a cancellation, you get your money back or you can reschedule at no cost.
That's as good as it gets, especially because your travel investment is protected. But just as important is that it lets you plan ahead and get that great 2014 rate.
The best thing about Las Vegas bus tours is that you can visit the West Rim or the South Rim. The West Rim is 125 miles east of Vegas while the South Rim is 277 miles.
Indeed, it's tempting to rent a car and drive to the West Rim but I urge you to think twice. First, you'll pay more to self-drive. I know it sounds ironic but I've added up the costs (SUV rental, entrance fees, parking fees, etc.) and its excessive. Second, the last 10 plus miles are over a rough, primitive dirt road.
The West Rim is most famous for the Grand Canyon Skywalk, which is a truly magnificent attraction. Also known as the glass bridge, the Skywalk lets you walk up to 70 feet past the edge. Once out there, you will be standing 4,000 over the bottom.
Of course, the Skywalk isn't for everyone and that's why a number of tour companies offer it as an option that can be purchased once you arrive at the Park. Indeed, it's more expensive to go this route, but if you're unsure if you want to do it, it's worth the extra expense.
The South Rim takes 5.5 hours to reach so buckle up because it's a long road trip. Personally, I don't mind the drive because the landscape you cross getting there is interesting. But it is important to go with a company that operates a newer fleet of buses because you want to be comfortable.
The best bus tours give you up to 3 hours to explore the South Rim. That's plenty of time to do Mather Point, Yaki Point and Grand Canyon Village. Then it's back to Vegas, which you'll reach around 9 pm so avoid making dinner or entertainment plans prior to that.
Conclusion
The best way to save money on 2014 Las Vegas bus tours to the Grand Canyon is to purchase them this winter. Prices this time of the year are low and once you get them they can't be increased, thus resulting in you saving money (which really adds up if you are a group of three or more people). And to my mind, that's a great way to start the holiday season!

You've just welcomed your first guests for your annual holiday party. As you usher them into your living room, Wanda, the wife of your very best customer, looks down to her feet. Your eyes follow hers - and you are mortified. Right there, on the carpet you decided didn't need cleaning until after the first of the year, is - we hate to say it - a stain. You thought no one would notice it in the soft lighting you've chosen for the evening. And, you were wrong.
Ack! We don't want this to happen to you, either. So, let's review a few guidelines (other than a stain, that is, which makes it obvious) to help you decide if your carpets cleaning needs done before the holidays.
First, ask yourself a few questions:
> How many people live in the home? Do people wear shoes in the house? If there is a lot of foot traffic, chances are there are wear patterns that will develop, if the carpet is soiled. Do you have children who do a lot of running around? Again, three to six months.
> How often do you vacuum the carpet? The better care the carpet receives between cleanings, the less often it needs to be cleaned. We suggest vacuuming at least twice a week.
> Are there smokers in the house? If so, we suggest cleaning your carpets every three to six months.
So, here's the bottom line: If you live by yourself, you probably need to clean your carpets just once a year. But if you have pets, children or if you smoke, we think cleaning them every three to six months is a good idea. If, on the other hand, your flooring includes wood or tile that gets heavy traffic, this would alleviate the stress on the carpet, making less frequent cleanings advisable.
It's also important to know what your carpet's warranty requires: one cleaning per year, two? Find out. And, it's important to know that each of your carpets might need to be cleaned differently, depending on how each is made. A cheaper carpet, for example, should not be cleaned as often as a more expensive one; it just can't handle being handled like more expensive carpeting can.
So, do Wanda, and yourself, a favor. Consider cleaning those carpets before the holiday season to give you, your family and your guests the best possible chance of enjoying a happy holiday season. Dogs, kids, smoke, allergies and all that dancing you do on the weekends could be taking their toll - and leaving a lasting impression. Check out your calendar - it might just be time to give us a call!

*********************** ARTICLE START ***********************
If you're thinking of taking a Grand Canyon helicopter tour on or around the Thanksgiving holiday, the time to book it is now.
Most travelers think that demand declines for tours to the Grand Canyon during November, but it's just not the case. Several factors are responsible for this. Here are the main two:
1. Thanksgiving's for travelers. In the past few people ventured to Las Vegas during this holiday. That was until the marketing execs got involved. The goal was to "fill beds" and host conventions. They've done both with a vengeance. In fact, so well that heli trips to the West Rim are often sold out.
The same can be said for Arizona. Folks usually associate November with cold weather in Northern AZ. And it is, but it's not artic by any means. In fact, AZ weather is so "streaky" that you could very well find yourself shedding the jacket and walking about in a long-sleeved shirt. Word got out about this phenomena and in came the visitors.
2. Fewer aircraft are available. In all my years of reporting on the canyon tour industry, this one's always baffled me. Indeed, summer is high season but to cut the available fleet down by as much as they do is remarkable. It's not as bad as it was in past years and I suspect tour operators are grasping the fact that there are now plenty of folks out there who want a heli ride. Let see how it plays out this season.
Having read that, I urge you to consider booking your November heli tour at least a week ahead of time. You'll thank yourself if you do. Why? Because you'll be the person who gets to cherry pick from the best flight times and the most in-demand tours. See, the morning times are the hottest sellers, and, if you wait until the last minute, it's very likely you'll be flying during lunch or early afternoon.
Quick work about departure points.
Canyon helicopters depart from Las Vegas and Tusayan, AZ, gateway to the South Rim. Vegas offers aerial and landing tours while Tusayan offers only aerial tour. The reason for this is that landing tours are banned at the South Rim. Thus if you are flying to the West Rim, consider yourself lucky because it's the only place in the National Park where you can go to the bottom.
As for Vegas landing tours, my favorite is the one that comes with a Champagne Picnic. Seems everyone else likes it, too, because I get inquiries about it all day. That said, if you're the type of traveler who wants it all, consider the tour that goes to the top and the bottom with Skywalk tickets thrown into the mix. Now that's an adventure (and you get to see all that stuff in only 7 hours!).
For me, the South Rim tour that's worth its weight in gold is the 50-minute deluxe flight aboard and EcoStar 130. This one covers nearly 75 percent of the National Park, and, if you are into photography, it's the only way to go because the "Star" has a massive 180-degree wraparound windshield that offers up panoramic views of all the canyon's famous vistas.
Well, that wraps up this article about canyon helicopters and their availability of the Thanksgiving holiday. I hope to see you at the National Park. Until then, have a great flight!

Article Title: Grand Canyon Airplane - Paying Low Winter Rates For 2014 Tours

*********************** ARTICLE START ***********************
Not many know this but it pays to book Grand Canyon airplane tours now if you plan to fly in 2014.
For me, it sounded impossible to plan a trip to Las Vegas or Arizona that far in advance. I'm so spur of the moment. But I did it last year and the savings were huge.
Here's why?
Generally speaking, peak season at the Grand Canyon ended October 15. And with it, rates. I've compared prices from peak to now and their substantial.
In some cases, tickets were up to $75 cheaper per person depending on the plane tour you pick. That's a lot of money if there's two or more of you flying.
Now here's the cool thing: Purchase your 2014 spring or summer tour now at the discounted winter rates and you've pretty much beat the system.
Will tour operators change the rate on you once the first warm days appear on the horizon? No. It's unethical and I've never heard of anyone that I've worked with doing this.
Thus I say get your trip now while the "getting" is good.
Some travelers have asked me, "What happens if I cancel my tour?" Good news. If you do it within 24 hours of your scheduled departure, you get all your money back.
The follow up question is: "What happens if there's bad weather?" More good news: You get a full refund or you get rescheduled on the next available flight.
Not a bad deal at all if you ask me.
Grand Canyon airplane tours take off from Las Vegas and Tusayan, AZ. They will be available throughout the entire holiday season including Christmas and New Years (helicopters will not fly on Christmas).
Vegas flights go to the West Rim and the South Rim. You can do an aerial or landing tour at both, though you have more options at the West Rim.
On the other hand, if you want to visit the South Rim from Vegas, the plane, in my opinion is the only way to go because it takes only 60 minutes to get there.
At the South Rim, there's a really decent air tour that covers nearly all of the National Park. Personally, I think it's one of the better and more affordable options if you have just a day to check out the Park.
Quick overview of Vegas airplane tours to the West Rim. These flights are really neat, especially the one that lets you optionally include the Skywalk because I think you need to see the glass bridge first before you do it.
Then there's another that lets you take a heli from the top to the bottom. It comes with a boat ride, too, which I've found to be quite wonderful during the winter months.
Speaking of winter, please dress accordingly. It's common for Vegas visitors to show up a tad under-prepared. I suggest you dress in long pants, running shoes, a jacket and a hat. Not a bad idea to bring sunglasses and ChapStick, either.
Conclusion
The best time to buy Grand Canyon airplane tour tickets is now during winter if you plan to fly anytime in 2014, especially spring and summer. Prices are significantly cheaper and you'll save a bundle. And that's a good thing!

Thinking about using a diet meal delivery service? Diet delivery is currently the easiest, most enjoyable way to lose weight.
What is it and how does it work? And is it right for you? Here's what you need to know:
#1 What Exactly is Diet Delivery?
A diet delivery service prepares weight loss meals for you and then ships them to your home either daily, weekly or monthly.
Meals are prepared according to your preferences and then delivered to your door either fresh or frozen.
It's like having your own personal dietitian and chef helping you lose weight!
#2 What Kind of Meals Can You Get?
Diet delivery services offer you lots of options - from low carb to low fat, vegetarian or even diabetic-friendly meals. There are also services that base their meals on a specific diet like the Zone or the 17-Day diet.
Most diet delivery meal plans are created by registered dietitians or physicians - so you can be assured of getting the proper mix of vitamins and nutrients for safe weight loss.
Often meals are low calorie and range from 1200 – 1600 calories per day, depending on the clients height, gender, activity level, etc.
#3 How Does It Work?
Depending on the service, you can get your meals delivered to your home once a week for 7 days or 5 days (to have your weekends off).
Some services offer fresh food delivered daily. Other services make the food fresh and ship it to you frozen.
You can choose to have breakfast, lunch and dinner delivered or just have lunch and dinner (and prepare your own breakfast). Sometimes you can also add in snacks.
Most diet meal delivery services will let you choose your preferences online and then order. In a couple of business days you should receive your food for that week.
#4 Will You Lose Weight?
Yes! Most diet delivery clients lose from 2-5 pounds per week.
And recent studies show that people have more success losing weight with diet delivery than they do with traditional diets. This makes sense – when all of the work is done for you, it's easy to lose weight!
Plus, with chef-prepared, delicious meals you don't have that sense of deprivation that sabotages most dieting efforts. And you don't have the frustration of driving to the store, searching for the right diet food, going home and taking the time to prepare it yourself.
#5 How Much Does It Cost?
You don't have to be a movie star to enjoy the benefits of diet delivery. Plans start from under $20 a day (less than most people spend for 1 restaurant meal).
Some plans offer discounts if you buy monthly (vs. weekly) and some even offer free meals when you sign up.
Also, many delivery clients feel that the time they save every day by having their meals delivered more than pays for itself.
And when you see the results in the mirror, you'll be more than glad you tried it! If you decide you'd like to try one of these services, take your time to research before you buy. There are lots of options - but every service is a little bit different.
And then take the plunge - you'll probably find that using a diet delivery service is the easiest diet you've ever done!
