The WORLDWIDE FLEET OF BEECH CRAFT TURBO PROP King Airs recently topped an incredible 60-million flight hours cementing its claim to being the most popular and best-selling turbo prop business aircraft family in the world.
More than 7000 King Airs of all Marques are operated in 127 countries around the world, including all branches of the US Military and with many other air forces around the globe.
In Africa, it ranks as one of-if the not the-the most popular twin-engined turbo prop mini-airliners currently in operation by airlines and charter companies both large and small.
In paramilitary service, King Airs serve a variety of missions ranging from traditional transport of personnel and high-value cargo, to electronic and imagery surveillance, air ambulance, airway calibration, photographic mapping, training and weather modification.
"The King Air line continues to lead its segment, representing 53 percent of the worldwide business turbo prop market, "said Shawn Vick, Beech crafts executive vice president, Sales and Marketing."Today's King Air gives operators the versatility to land anywhere and transport more passengers further on less fuel-all in a comfortable ,capable cabin. The value, durability and utility of our turbo props are unmatched by any other airplane in the world.
"Millions of hours of flight experience represent a tremendous knowledge base that is fed back into Beech craft," Vick added."We greatly value the global experience of our customers and use it to drive major and minor product improvements into the King Air line.
"This means today's King Air models offer significantly higher performance and reliability than their predecessors and, with our renewed focus on Beech craft products, we are looking forward to even more improvements to come," he said.
When the T-tail King Air 200 (initially known as the Super King Air) was first introduced to African skies in the mid 1970s, there was some skepticism as to what the reaction would be from both the business and commercial aviation communities .In those days, a director of one of the aircraft distributors told World Air news that he did not anticipate more than 15 sales overall.
He did not specify a time scale, but this must surely rank as a classic understatement because the Africa-wide fleet is now estimated to run into many hundreds.
The C-90 King Air was first FAA-certified in 1964. Although its 50th anniversary is due soon, Beech craft has kept the aircraft series current with refreshed interiors and modern glass cockpit avionics. This included the mid-1970s introduction of the then revolutionary King Air 200 model range.
At the time of its introduction, Beech craft claimed that the King Air 200 was the most extensively tested general aviation aircraft ever and produced photographs showing a number of airframes in test rigs undergoing more rigorous "flying conditions" than the type was ever likely to expect in the future.
Beech craft currently produces the King Air C-90GTx which cruises at 270 knots and the King Air 250 and 350 which cruise at over 310 knots.
Virtually all models of the King Air have used variations of the Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6 turbo prop engines. OF all 7000 King Airs produced, only 137 aircraft had a Garret Air Research (now Honeywell) engines, namely the model B100 King Air.
King Airs range in ramp weight from just over 4536 kg (10000 lbs) to 7503 kg (16600 lbs) .Payload of the largest King Air 350ER is over 3200 kg (7000 lbs).
The longest range King Air is the Model 350ER with extended range fuel system –which allows the aircraft to fly over 25000 nm or remain airborne over 12 hours and land with 45 minutes of fuel reserve. This marquee has also been adapted as a "special mission" aircraft which last year was demonstrated to the South African Air Force as a possible long-range maritime patrol aircraft.
King Airs are sometimes referred to as the "sport utility vehicle of the skies".
The General Aviation Manufacturers Association 2012 year-end shipment of general aviation aircraft report shows that worldwide turbo prop deliveries increased by 10, 3 percent year-over-year, from 526 aircraft in 2011 to 580 in 2012.Beech craft delivered 85 of its three current production King Air models to commercial customers in 2012-38 King Air 350i, 22 King Air 250 and 25 King Air C90GTx aircraft.

Pallet racking is a storage system that today is used extensively in distribution centers, manufacturing facilities, and many other businesses that operate out of a warehouse, and for good reason. Pallet rack systems are some of the most efficient and cost-effective industrial storage solutions available, and they can provide a wealth of benefits for your operation when incorporated at your facility. If you've ever considered utilizing a pallet rack system as your business's main storage solution but were unsure whether or not it was the correct move to make, this article sheds some light of some of the many benefits pallet rack systems offer, and it could help you gain a better understanding of whether pallet racking would be the ideal solution for your storage needs.
Save on Space
One of the most beneficial aspects of a pallet rack system is that it can save a ton of space in your facility while still offering plenty of storage capabilities. How? Pallet racking utilizes vertical space instead of valuable floor space. You can extend pallet racks all the way to the roof in your facility – or as high as the material handling equipment you use to retrieve palletized loads can reach. A pallet rack system gives you the chance to drastically improve your storage capabilities over other similar industrial shelving systems that would utilize the same amount of space on your facility's ground floor.
Durability and Dependability
Pallet rack systems from reputable manufacturers such as Wireway Husky, Interlake Mecalux, Unarco, Speedrack, and Lyon are constructed of high-quality steel. They are also specifically designed to withstand the grind of a busy warehouse setting where pallets are continuously loaded and unloaded with advanced material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks. So, when you purchase a pallet rack system from a reputable manufacturer that has a reputation for delivering well-crafted equipment, you can feel confident that the storage system will function properly for years to come.
Tremendous Accessibility
There are multiple types of pallet rack systems, including push back, drive in, drive through, single-deep, double-deep, and gravity flow. Determining which one will perfectly suit the needs of your business will take some time to figure out, but the good news is that each of these systems offers outstanding accessibility to unit loads. With some systems, you can have unimpeded access to every palletized load. Others only offer access to those in the front and/or rear positions. Oftentimes a system with greater storage density will offer less access, but you still will be able to reach all of the pallets on the system with minimal issues.
Safety Matters
So long as you stick to purchasing a pallet rack system from a reputable manufacturer, you can ensure you are buying a storage system that will give you the ability to safely store your goods. All name-brand pallet rack systems have been extensively tested to ensure they are structurally sound and capable of supporting the maximum amount of weight as specified by the individual manufacturer. Of course, it is imperative to strictly adhere to the manufacturer's guidelines in order to maximize the safety aspects and minimize the threat of injuries to employees and damage to your goods.

*********************** ARTICLE START ***********************
Pallet rack systems are extremely efficient and cost-effective storage solutions, and they have become the ideal choice for businesses that operate out of a warehouse or another similar facility. Simply deciding to use a pallet rack system, however, doesn't guarantee that you will automatically obtain the perfect storage system for your particular operation. There are some steps that need to be taken in order to ensure your chosen pallet racking is as efficient as it should be, specifically when it comes to configuring your system and how it is laid out on your ground floor. By adhering to the following guidelines you can make sure that your pallet rack system is properly set up and can help lead to meeting the storage and production standards you have set forth for your company.
Take Accurate Measurements
In order to get a good idea of how to configure your pallet rack system, you first must focus on what types of goods you are storing and what types of pallets you will be using. You will need to measure the length, depth, and width of the standard pallet you choose, as well as get the same measurements – with an extra measurement for the height – for the largest load you plan to store. These measurements will help you precisely determine how much space you need to create a storage bay in your pallet rack system. It is important to remember to always leave an additional 10 inches of space between the start of a new bay to ensure that you can safely load and retrieve your palletized goods. However, by taking accurate measurements you can maximize your storage capabilities and not waste valuable storage space in your facility.
Determine Your Maximum Weight
Calculating the weight of the largest load you plan to store is equally as important as taking accurate measurements. Pallet rack systems vary in the amount of weight they can support – those weight limits are outlined by the respective manufacturer – so it's important to know how much your goods weigh so you can ensure the storage system you choose will be able to safely secure your goods without the threat of collapse. While the likelihood of every pallet you store weighing the same is not realistic, the reason you use the maximum weight is to ensure that any load can be stored in any particular bay without issue.
Leave Proper Spacing
Having proper spacing between the rows in your pallet rack system is imperative to ensure that you leave enough room to operate the material handling equipment you intend to use to load and retrieve your goods. For instance, pallet jacks likely won't require as much space as forklifts do to safely navigate in an area, while some types of forklifts require more space than others. Knowing what type of material handling equipment you intend to use will help you configure a more efficient system.
Improve the System's Safety Aspects
Any time you can improve safety at your facility, you should strongly consider it. When configuring pallet racking, there are multiple products you can add to improve the safety aspects of the overall system. Some specific products you should be aware of are wire mesh decking, post protectors, safety netting, levels, and rack guard. Wire decking and safety netting can help keep employees safe as they help prevent goods from falling off a pallet, while rack guards and post protectors keep the overall system safe from damage that can occur when forklifts and other equipment come into contact with the system.

If you are utilizing a pallet racking system at your facility, you already incorporate arguably the most efficient, cost-effective industrial storage solution that is available. But, that doesn't mean improvements can't be made to increase your storage capabilities. Like any product, a pallet racking system can be enhanced in many ways. Here are a few simple things to consider with your pallet rack system if you are looking to maximize the storage potential at your business.
Expand Up and Out
One of the greatest things about pallet rack is that expansion is relatively simple. You can add new upright frames and cross beams to create new storage bays at any time, in two ways – up and out. Expanding your pallet racking system upwards is likely the first option to consider, because that is where it likely will be easiest for most businesses. Chances are you probably didn't construct your pallet racking system all the way to the roof at your facility, so you'll probably find ample expansion possibilities by adding new storage bays at the top of your system by installing new, longer vertical uprights. Doing this could present some logistical problems – for example, expanding upward could lead to you needing different material handling equipment to reach those new storage bays – so make sure you do some research before diving into this potential plan. The other alternative is to expand outwards, adding additional storage bays at the ends of the rows in your pallet rack system. If you have the flexibility to add an additional column at the end of a row, it will quickly boost your overall storage capacity.
Look at Narrowing the Aisles
Material handling equipment like forklifts need ample room to operate safely, so when initially designing a layout for a pallet rack system it is vital to leave sufficient space between aisles. This will help you to avoid the potential for collisions between your loading and unloading equipment and the industrial shelving system. However, if you were overly generous in the amount of space you decided to leave when first designing your system, you can contemplate narrowing the aisles between the rows of your pallet racking system. Should you be able to save enough room between aisles, you could conceivably construct an entire new row of pallet racking, significantly upgrading your system's storage capacity.
Consider a System Reconfiguration
With the goal of every business being to grow, sometimes it is inevitable for change to happen. Change, though, could present great opportunities to increase storage. For instance, if you were storing bulky items when you first constructed your pallet rack system but now are storing smaller items because demand in your products has changed, there is a chance you could reconfigure your pallet rack system and create new storage bays. With pallet racking, every inch matters. Taking a hard look at what your inventory consists of and whether or not your pallet racking system is constructed to specifically accommodate those types of items could help put you on a path toward finding more storage space in your existing pallet racking system – and, as a result, running a more efficient business.

To hear a hospice employee tell it, there are few healthcare careers more rewarding than those in palliative care. While admittedly highly emotional, the satisfaction that is gleaned from helping patients and their families through their difficult time is unlike anything else in medicine. And, an unfortunate reality of having an aging population in America is that hospice care will continue to grow and become more and more "popular" as the baby boomer generation reaches their twilight years. As a result, careers in hospice and other similar services will become more and more available during a time when jobs in America aren't always easy to come by. So, what should you expect out of working in hospice?
One of the nice things about working at a hospice center is that there are a wide variety of support positions available. If you are a medical doctor, you can use your experience and expertise to help monitor your patients – many of whom are quite sick – and ensure that they are comfortable and well-versed on the state of their overall health. The ultimate goal here is to help maintain the best possible quality of health for the individual, while also keeping their family members informed on what to expect in the coming weeks or months. Nursing positions in hospice are also quite popular among healthcare professionals because these positions give the right kind of person an opportunity to develop a meaningful relationship with the patient and their families when they are undoubtedly looking for someone to trust.
In addition to the nurses and doctors, hospice care requires support staff and volunteers. A big reason that hospice has become such a well-respected institution is because of the comfort that it provides its patients. In many cases, patients far outlive their prognosis with a much better quality of life than they would in a sterile, impersonal hospital setting. What's more, support staff works with the patients and can often help them meet personal goals, create art, bond with new friends and long-lost family members, and enjoy the final chapter in their lives. Social workers and mental health professionals are also integral to the process, helping provide comfort, insight, and perspective in a time when patients and their families need it most. Even administrative staff plays a big role in hospice care. Everyone from insurance experts to data entry specialists and office managers are needed to help the office run reliably.
Make no mistake, working at hospice isn't always easy. There will be emotional days and times when you might wish that your job was a little easier. Yet with that said, the personal and professional satisfaction that comes from bonding with your patients and helping them during a period of time when they most need your support and care is immeasurably important. Careers in healthcare are and continue to be widely available. Dedicating yourself to palliative care is an excellent career option or a great way to volunteer your free time. Contact your community hospice center today to learn more about how you can help.

The Medical College Admission Test – better known as the MCAT – is a standardized test that must be taken by all prospective students before applying to medical school. Because of the importance of this examination, many students come to dread the MCAT, but with a little understanding of how the MCAT works and what you can do to prepare yourself, you can look at this test as an opportunity to put your best foot forward and demonstrate to the various admissions offices that you are someone that they want studying at their school.
The MCAT is in many ways analogous to the SATs that every high school student must take before applying to colleges. These standardized tests, of course, are not the be all and end all of a college application, but a good score can help your application stand out from the rest of the pack. Most medical schools do not publish the average MCAT score of their incoming classes, but rather offer a median score to offer perspective about how most of their students have fared on the test. Sure, a couple of people might get accepted with less than sterling scores and a couple of people might have really aced the test, but by and large, the median will give you an idea for the ballpark you should shoot for if you want to attend that particular medical school.
One of the important things to remember with the MCAT is that you want to give yourself ample time to prepare so you don't push against your medical school application deadlines. The last thing you want to do is rush, not do as well as you like, and then not have time to try again before it is too late to apply to your dream medical school. You also need to understand that it takes 30 days to get your scores, which might have a significant impact on your application timeline. And considering that many graduate schools only have one class of students a year, missing a deadline might mean you'll have to delay enrollment for a full calendar year.
In regard to the test itself, the MCAT is several hours long and includes sections on physical science, biological science, verbal reasoning, physical and biological sciences cognitive skills, and verbal reasoning cognitive skills. It is absolutely essential that you familiarize yourself with the test and the subject matter before the testing day, and many individuals sign up for official test preparation classes and spend significant time working with the official guide to the MCAT exam that is published every year by the Association of American Medical Colleges.
Another thing to keep in mind with the MCAT is that you can take it as many as three times a year, so if the first attempt doesn't meet your standards, you can register again. Many times, this second round goes better because you have a better idea of what to expect and some of the uncertainty surrounding the test is removed. Above all else, do your due diligence, prepare yourself, and then work your way through the MCAT with the confidence that comes with knowing that you're ready.

Controversy aside, the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (the Affordable Care Act) contains many significant investments into future healthcare employment in our country that can have a sweeping impact on the industry in the coming years. The population in America, as a whole, is aging, as a result of the Baby Boomer generation growing older, which has led to a great need for medical professionals – ranging from doctors, surgeons and specialists to nurses, anesthesiologists, and administrative staff. In fact, most experts expect that the need for healthcare providers will continue to outpace economic growth for several years to come, meaning that in a time when finding a job in America isn't always easy, there is much-needed stability in the healthcare industry. So what investments, exactly, does this legislation make into healthcare employment?
One of the marquee components of the Affordable Care Act is to fund the training and development of more primary care providers over the next five years. Along with investments already made in the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act in 2009, funding has been included to support as many as 16,000 new healthcare providers. This significant commitment speaks to the importance of ensuring that our country has the medical staff in place to provide the quality of care that our citizens demand and deserve.
Yet all of these new providers also need to ensure that they have places to work, which is why the legislation also includes additional resources that are designed to build and expand community health centers – many of which are actually managed by nurses and nurse practitioners, particularly in communities that have been traditionally underserved. Not only does this offer new opportunities for employment for healthcare specialists, it also is designed to improve the overall health of the citizenry, especially in parts of the country that haven't' always had the necessary access to overcome common avoidable health problems, such as obesity.
Furthermore, healthcare reform is also committed to alleviating some of the burden placed on healthcare professionals by rampant student loan debts. Many individuals are leery of pursuing a career in medicine because of the potentially exorbitant cost of schooling. To alleviate some of this concern, the Affordable Care Act includes provisions to help students repay their student loans and also provide scholarships to those who are willing to work in underserved areas after school.
These are just a few examples of the investments made by the federal government into healthcare employment, however. There is a national understanding that our healthcare industry needs further reform and will continue to expand in the coming years. If you are interested in pursuing a career in healthcare, now is the time to get started. When many Americans are concerned about job stability and security, experienced healthcare professionals are at a premium and will continue to be highly coveted for the years to come. Whether you're a college student currently exploring your career options or you're interested in a career change, working in healthcare is, and will continue to be, an outstanding option.

The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act has been a bit of a political lightning rod for the Administration since it was signed into law in 2010. In the months that led up to and followed the approval of this controversial legislation, significant misunderstandings of the scope and purpose of this policy reform took the country by storm, which eventually begat flat out lies and untruths. There is no denying that this sweeping reform of the nation's healthcare system represented one of the most dramatic changes to social policy in the country's recent history, yet with that said, many people don't fully grasp what is actually in the legislation. Regardless of your political affiliation or misgivings with the size and scope of the reform, there are a number of features to reform that will help healthcare providers offer a higher quality of care.
For starters, one nice feature of this law is that it is designed to significantly reduce paperwork and some of the administrative red-tape that can be a major burden on healthcare professionals. This will eventually mean that doctors, nurses, and other staff will have more time to focus on patient care and less time to worry about filling out redundant, mundane paperwork. Furthermore, this legislation also offers a significant investment into electronic healthcare records, which is undoubtedly the future of the industry. All too often, patients do not have a full record of their medical history – especially when they've visited countless doctors across the country – which can lead to delays, mistakes in coverage, and an overall diminished quality of care.
Perhaps the most significant component – and most controversial – of the Affordable Care Act is that it expands healthcare coverage to the more than 30 million uninsured Americans by offering accessible, and affordable healthcare options. This will offer Americans of all ages and socio-economic circumstances the chance to utilize the healthcare resources that our country offers, reducing the incentive to delay or avoid seeking care because they can't make ends meet. In time, this will further reduce the burden placed on emergent care and the healthcare system as a whole because uninsured patients won't be straddled with exorbitant medical bills that they have no chance of ever paying back.
Along the same lines, this policy reform puts a premium on preventative services and public health by investing in local communities. This money will be used to expand coverage, hire professionals, and begin to address many of the issues plaguing America, such as obesity and avoidable chronic disease. By creating a healthier America, we can further alleviate some of the strain on the healthcare system as a whole, which would have long lasting ramifications on our national debt.
There is no denying that this new policy has been the subject of intense scrutiny and controversy – and in some instances, this may be with good reason. With that said, the spirit of the law also includes several advantages that can and should have a positive impact on our country in the coming years.

Thanks to the revolution of the internet now real women can buy swimsuits online and try them on at their own home, at their own pace instead of facing queuing up for public fitting room in a crowded store.
Ruching is a popular trend this season for clothing including women's swimwear. Swimsuit design with ruching is an excellent choice for real women as it will make them look fashionable whilst giving them comfort and perfectly hiding bulges. The swimsuits can have ruching under arms or under bust as well as on both sides of the suit.
The key swimwear design for this season is about beach culture. The prints and colour trends are from tropical floral gardens to exotic destinations. The colour pallette works around blues, turquoise, crimson, pink, lime and black. Metallic trim around the prints is also a key trend. Popular cuts include twisted bandeau, ruched ribbons or key holes.
Style trends:
One Piece Swimwear:
Many plus size women especially whose body is hour glass shape prefer this style as it show off their curves. Look for plus size swimsuits with adequate support, built-in bra and if you have a nice bust, you should choose swimwear with plunging neckline and key holes which will accentuate your curve.
Swimdresses:
It is more modest than other types of swimwear; women in plus sizes will look stylish and flattering in swimdresses; they provide extra coverage over tummy, hip and thigh areas. These areas are problems for many large size women and the one piece swimsuit style is excellent for covering them. Ruched swimdress is definitely a popular trend for plus sizes.
Two Piece swimsuits:
Tankinis:
Some women do not like one piece swimsuits as they are sometime difficult to put on or take off. Tankinis are two-piece separate swimwear usually includes a sleeveless top and a pair of swim pants. The trend for this season is deep V neck or twisted bandeau. As a plus size, you should choose the swim top which is long enough to cover your tummy and the swim pants with medium leg cut.
Skirtinis:
They are two-piece swimwear, like tankinis, but instead of having regular swimming pants for bottom; skirtinis have short length skirts with attached panties. Full figured women who like looking young and flattering would love skirtinis. The swimsuits provide comfort and they will boost your confidence as you will have more coverage on your tummy and thighs. As a plus size woman, you will look great in skirtinis because they will accentuate your curves whilst camouflage flaws.
Skirtini swimsuits have become more and more popular for plus size women and the trend for this style's top is twisted bandeau or sweetheart V neck with empire waist or ruching under bust.
After a long cold winter, working hard for your family; it is the time for you to enjoy outdoor, imagine you are at your girl friends pool parties or on a Hawaiian beach wearing your beautiful swimsuit with pride! Updating your swimwear wardrobe is the most deserved thing you should do for yourself this summer.

Although his unusual name might be the first thing about him that stands out, Armie Hammer has become a serious player in Hollywood. Hammer was born on August 28, 1986, in Los Angeles, California. His unique name is a tribute to both his grandfather and his father. Michael Armand Hammer is a successful business mogul, overseeing a film production company called Hammer Productions, as well as other prominent businesses. In addition, Hammer's grandfather and namesake was a renowned philanthropist and oil tycoon. Hammer was born into a line of successful figures, and lost little time in proving that he also has plenty to offer the world.
As a child, Hammer and his family moved several times. With his parents and his brother, Viktor, Hammer spent some time in Dallas, Texas, before moving on to the Cayman Islands. As a teenager, Hammer rebelled against the high expectations of following his parents' dreams for him. He only had one major goal for his life. In eleventh grade, Hammer made the controversial decision to drop out of school and become more serious about his plans pursue a career in acting. Since his parents disapproved and wanted Hammer to finish his education, he compromised by attending college courses at schools such as Pasadena City College and University of California, Los Angeles. Although he knew that dodging high school graduation was a gamble, Hammer was willing to take that risk in exchange for succeeding at his acting ambitions.
At first, Hammer only landed fairly small roles on a range of TV shows. Between 2005 and 2007, the aspiring actor built up a resume that included appearances on "Veronica Mars," "Desperate Housewives," and "Arrested Development." His first real starring role came in 2008, when Hammer landed the role of Billy Graham in a biographical film about the well-known Christian evangelist. His performance caught the attention of faith-based organizations and also served as a stepping stone to more mainstream roles. Hammer next appeared in "2081" (2009), a sci-fi short. Although it did not see a very wide release, the film helped prove Hammer's acting chops.
In 2010, Hammer finally landed a breakthrough role that truly launched his career and gave Hammer the fame and acknowledgement he had been hoping for since he left high school to pursue his dream of acting. In "The Social Network," Hammer played not one, but two, starring roles. He appeared as the Winklevoss twins, portraying both Cameron and Cameron's identical brother, Tyler. Directed by David Fincher, "The Social Network" earned plenty of critical and popular acclaim. Hammer's role in the film's success did not go unnoticed. He landed an award for best supporting actor from the Toronto Film Critics Association. Hammer also received nominations for a slew of other awards, including one from the Screen Actors Guild.
Hammer's next big role came in 2011, with "J. Edgar." Hammer played lawyer Clyde Tolson in director Clint Eastwood's biopic. In this film, Hammer had a chance to co-star with Leonardo DiCaprio. The performance once again earned Hammer a nomination from the Screen Actors Guild. The next time Hammer appeared onscreen, it would be in a fantasy film. Working with inventive director Tarsem Singh, Hammer starred as the charming Prince Andrew Alcott in "Mirror Mirror." The lighthearted adaptation of the Snow White story let Hammer show off his comedic skills, as well as gave him a chance to be in the spotlight as a romantic lead.
All this was only preamble for Hammer's biggest starring role of all. Hammer landed the coveted chance to star as the lead character in director Gore Verbinski's "The Lone Ranger" (2013). Hammer had big boots to fill, taking on a beloved and nostalgic character and reinventing him as a hero who appeals to contemporary audiences. As the masked vigilante of the Old West, Hammer starred alongside actor Johnny Depp, who portrayed Tonto.
Hammer has continued to make appearances on TV shows, even after breaking into movies. In 2009, he appeared in four episodes of "Gossip Girl" as Serena van der Woodsen's love interest. He has also provided voice work for both "The Simpsons" and "American Dad!"
In 2010, Hammer wed Elizabeth Chambers, a model and successful news reporter who appears on various networks.
Although Hammer's parents initially felt disappointed by Hammer's decision to pursue acting instead of business, his rise to stardom helped them come to terms with their son's ambitions. Within the space of a few short years, Hammer has become one of the most sought-after young stars in Hollywood. His career has only just started. With such promising appearances in a versatile range of blockbusters and critically acclaimed movies, Hammer promises to become an invaluable presence in Hollywood. The gamble he took as a teenager has paid off in big ways.

This is the one. "Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope" is absolutely certain to go down in history - indeed, it has already to a certain extent as the great watershed moment of American cinema, after which nothing could ever be quite the same as it had been. Conceived by George Lucas in the early 1970s, the "Star Wars" franchise has spent nearly forty years radically transforming the worlds of film, technology and art. It has pushed the boundaries of what was thought possible in film, as well as blasting open the doors of merchandising and other tie-ins, all of which have contrived to make "Star Wars" not only a wholly unprecedented cultural phenomenon in the 2001 census, nearly one percent of the population of England and Wales gave their religion as "Jedi" but as a business success that rivals the software boom for its astonishing profits. All of this began with a single movie.
Long ago, in a galaxy far, far away, the young Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) tends the moisture farm of his uncle, and dreams of adventure among the stars. When the Empire comes to call leaving devastation in its wake, as per usual Luke teams up with two droids and an old Jedi warrior to rescue a princess and deliver to the Rebellion the plans for a weapon of terrifying destructive power. Along the way, he must discover his inner potential and learn the mysterious ways of the Force - the energy field that surrounds every living thing in the universe and binds it together.
The plot of "Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope" is so well known, with so many tens of millions having seen it over and over, that it hardly bears repeating. Even the few people who've never seen it know what the Death Star is and how to hold a lightsaber. The vast sweep of the galaxy sketched out by Lucas has such a power to pull in the audience that it spawned no fewer than two sequels and three prequels. Even decades later, children clamor to dress up as its star characters for Halloween. The language of the film has entered the consciousness of the English-speaking world, eg "may the Force be with you."
Quite a lot of this power can be traced back to the extensive background research that was done by George Lucas during the early days of script development. For years, Lucas traveled with books about folklore and the role of the myth in human storytelling. Certain archetypes keep emerging in human stories that of the wise old warrior, the orphan with a lost legacy, the epic quest against great odds, etc.. and Lucas, for perhaps the first time in the history of film, consciously set out to capture as many of these archetypes as possible. For years, he struggled to craft his characters and plot ideas into some kind of shape. Eventually, he prevailed upon executives at Twentieth Century Fox to give him a shot.
What he produced was awful. After a special screening, no less than Steven Spielberg is said to have counseled Lucas to give up what looked to be an unintelligible mess of a movie. Fortunately, Lucas had worked for far too long, and for far too much, to just give up. As the film was entering post-production, it wouldn't be possible to reshoot any of its scenes, but Lucas was able to do the next best thing. He hired a new editor and recut what he had. He brought in John Williams to write what would eventually become the Oscar winning score. He added effects, cut scenes, hired James Earl Jones; all of the things an ambitious director could hope to do to make his rough cut into a finished product worthy of his vision.
Amazingly, it all worked out. After years of work and shoots at various exotic locations around the world, what finally emerged from the LucasFilm magic factory was the film of the decade, possibly of the century. Audiences were blown away by what they saw. Previous sci-fi movies had generally been either high camp, as with "Plan 9 From Outer Space," or had been ponderous and slow, as with "2001: A Space Odyssey." What the crowd got in "Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope" was a wild, swashbuckling adventure across half a galaxy. Wild worlds and violent clashes made the film enough of an action-packed adventure to bring in even viewers who would never dream of going to a science fiction film otherwise. The rest was history.

While most people recognize that becoming a surgeon is no walk in the park, you might not fully appreciate the time, money, and hard work that must be invested long before your surgeon has the ability to operate on you. A surgical career path can certainly be rewarding and lucrative, but it is not without its sacrifices along the way, which is why it is helpful for you as a patient to have an understanding about the road they've traveled to enter the operating room.
As is the case with most career paths, the journey to becoming a surgeon often begins long before college. While there are plenty of bright young men and women who find their way in undergrad and decide to pursue a career in medicine, many begin to shape their studies toward a medicine as best they can in high school. Taking AP-level science coursework as an upperclassman in high school can offer a student a strong foundation to build from before going to college and looks good on college applications, assuming, of course, that the student does well in school. Additionally, having many extra-curriculars on the resume that demonstrate an interest in medicine – such as volunteering at an area hospital, nursing home, or hospice center can set the student apart from fellow candidates when applying to colleges.
Ultimately, the four-year college that the student selects doesn't matter as much as the reputation of the institution, the coursework offered, and the extent to which a student excels while enrolled. There are many different majors that a student may select in preparation for medical school, but more often than not an emphasis on biological sciences is preferred. Here, the onus is once again on the student to take aggressive and relevant coursework to demonstrate an aptitude for science and a potential for success in the rigors of medical school. Classes, such as organic chemistry, are often known as "weed out" classes because they require a tremendous amount of work to master. These classes, however, are extremely important and should not be avoided but rather prioritized.
Upon finishing undergrad, the next step along the way for a student is medical school. Applying to med schools is a lot like applying to undergrad in that a candidate must illustrate his or her academic aptitude, extracurricular experience, and ability to excel on a standardized test. Once admitted, a student typically completes med school in four years, with time spent both in the classroom and also in clinical study in a hospital or other treatment facility. This clinical study is usually conducted on a rotating basis, giving a student the opportunity to be exposed to a variety of different fields of medicine, including emergent care, family practice, psychiatry, and more.
Finally, after finishing medical school, an individual interested in being a surgeon must apply to a residency program that offers the specialty that they are interested in most. Once again, this is an extremely competitive process and requires several more years of commitment from a young doctor.

One of the great benefits to calling Cincinnati, Ohio, your home is that you have access to a tremendous selection of parks, and of course the famous Cincinnati Zoo, to help persuade you to stay fit and active. Many people have the best intentions of getting regular cardiovascular exercise but when the time comes to spend time at the gym on an elliptical or a treadmill, it can be extremely difficult to get motivated. However, by taking advantage of the great outdoors and enjoying the beautiful resources at your disposal, you can enjoy the peace of mind that comes from knowing that you're not only having a good time but you're also taking the steps needed to improve your overall health.
Generally speaking, most doctors agree that an average patient in otherwise decent physical health should try and perform at least 30 minutes of physical exercise just about every day. The goal of cardiovascular exercises (aerobic exercise), such as hiking, jogging, walking, and swimming has less to do with building muscle mass as it does with improving heart and lung function, strengthening core muscles, and reducing blood pressure and cholesterol. What's more, a brief period of exercise does wonders for your metabolism and can start to make a significant impact on your overall health after only a couple of weeks.
Yet, as we all know, the days get busy and it can be extremely hard to get motivated to spend a few hours a week working out if you don't particularly enjoy physical activity. That's why it is such a benefit to have resources at your disposal to help make your cardio workout fun. Rather than go to work out on a treadmill at a crowded gym, consider everything that Cincinnati's park system has to offer.
For instance, the Krohn Conservatory is a gorgeous facility made of aluminum and glass walls that allows you to explore a wide variety of simulated eco-systems, ranging from lush rainforests to the unforgiving desert, without leaving town. In fact, the Krohn Conservatory is home to more than 3,500 plant species from around the world. Plus, the conservatory is always unveiling different special exhibits, meaning no two trips are the same. In other words, spending an hour exploring this gorgeous facility will offer many of the same cardio benefits of an hour spent walking on the treadmill, but is certainly a lot more fun and educational.
Similarly, don't discount the health benefits of exploring the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden. Founded in 1873, this Zoo is the second oldest in the country and one of the most well-known and respected. A certified National Historic Landmark, the Zoo is consistently rated among the best in the country and is home to more than 500 animals and 3,000 plant species. You could spend days exploring the Zoo without ever seeing everything that is available to you, and once again, you'll enjoy a great workout in the process.
The point is that while not everyone loves the idea of getting up and making a big deal out of working out, there are fun and interesting ways that you can get the exercise you require while still enjoying yourself. If you live in Cincinnati, take advantage of what the community has to offer.

Article Title: Existing California Health Insurance Members and Jan 1st, 2014

What if you're an existing health insurance member on the individual and family market in California? What happens to you Jan 1st? Great question as we get closer to the Jan 1st 2014 change over and it will be a massive change-over. Let's walk through what members can expect for the transition to health reform since so much focus has been on enrolling the uninsured.
Two distinct groups of individual and family health members
There are actually two separate pools of members. If a person's coverage started before 3/23/2010, they are in a Grandfathered pool and they will not have to change plans Jan 1st (providing they have not made any changes toe original policy that would invalidate the Grandfathered status). These members can change if they want to into one of the new Exchange or non-Exchange plans but they do not need to and they will likely not want to. The Grandfathered plan's rates should be much better than the new Exchange plan rates unless you qualify for a subsidy. Our Health Exchange Quote page will be able to show you Exchange plans with and without subsidies as well as non-Exchange plans (no subsidy) all at one place starting October 1st. Unless you qualify for a health subsidy, you will probably want to keep your Grandfathered Plan depending on rate, tier, etc. Again, October 1st is when you can compare. We recommend those members with Grandfathered status to stay put till we see what the new plans/rates look like. Once your plan is changed, Grandfathered status is gone for good.
Non-Grandfathered California health plans
If you do not have a Grandfathered plan (effective date or changes after 3/22/2010), your plan will go away Dec 31st, 2013. You will automatically be rolled into a "mapped" health plan that's the most similar to your current health plan most likely in the non-Exchange pool. The rates and benefits are identical between Exchange and non-Exchange plans so there's no downside there. This mapping is for people who choose to do nothing at the time of change over. You will also have the ability to change plans to any of the new California Exchange plans (Platinum, Gold, Silver, and Bronze plus a Catastrophic option for young adults under 30) or equivalent non-Exchange plans. The first effective date is Jan 1st and the last available one to make changes for is April 1st but the plan change must be requested 15 days prior to requested date. For example, if you request a plan change request Jan 20th, your change will go into effect March 1st (and not Feb 1st). Basically, it's the 1st half of the preceding month to request the 1st of the following month. For example, if you want a Jan 1st plan change, you would need to request the change in the first half of December (or starting October 1st). March 31st is the last date to request a plan change into the new Exchange or non-Exchange plans and if you miss this window, you will have to wait till the end of 2014. This first open-enrollment window is 6 months, Oct 1st through March 31st.
End of 2013 will be very busy for California health insurance
The State only recently required that the IFP members all change Jan 1st. We were hoping it would occur on the anniversary month of when the member originally joined to spread out the incredible volume of changes and enquiries that will hit. We are talking about 10's of millions of Californians all investigating coverage options at one time. The carriers will be inundated as will any group dealing with this transition. Please be patient. We have worked to make all the tools available online with instant quotes for both Exchange (with or without subsidy) and non-Exchange plans available based on your income level (which drives subsidy eligibility) at no cost to you. We really want to empower the California health insurance shopper and member and of course, we're here to help with your questions during this time.

It isn't always easy to keep active and competitive as we grow older. For many people, the days of high school and collegiate sports quickly become a fading memory and it is easy to grow listless thinking of great summer days spent legging out a double, leading the fast break, and taking a shot on goal on the soccer field. Yet, for Milwaukee residents, these memories don't have to fade into nostalgia thanks to an active recreation league that offers people to the chance to play their favorite sports on a weekly basis.
The beauty to playing in a recreation (rec) league is that it gives you a chance to get the competitive juices flowing but is also a lot of fun and a great way to meet people. Many people organize teams with their friends and families, while plenty of others sign up for their favorite sport as a free agent and get assigned to a team that is need of warm bodies. League sports are typically played once a week over the course of several months, with playoffs at the end of the regular season to determine bragging rights and championship glory. Yet, while everyone clearly wants to win, you'll find people varying levels of athletic prowess playing in community leagues, ranging from those who are trying to relive some of their glory years to those who are just looking for a good excuse to get a little exercise and go celebrate at the end of the game.
Another advantage to joining a recreation league is that there are a tremendous number of sports for you to choose from – many of which you probably couldn't otherwise play on a regular basis. For instance, joining a softball league is a great way to play without having to worry about organizing enough people to field two full teams. What's more, league sports are professionally organized, played on gorgeous, well-kept fields, and monitored closely by unbiased umpires and referees.
Joining a rec league is also an opportunity to try playing sports that you might not have any or little experience with in the first place. For instance, one of the most popular recreation league sports among adults across the country is actually kickball. This may seem a little surprising on the surface since most people haven't played kickball since grade school, but the game is actually a lot of fun because it is hard to take too seriously and doesn't require much in terms of equipment. Plus, a lot of folks are surprised to learn that catching, throwing, and kicking that big red ball is harder than it looks, which can lead to both tremendous plays and some laughable moments.
The health benefits associated with being active in adult sports should also be considered. A lot gets made about the social and competitive aspects of playing sports, but the opportunity to run around and get some good exercise at least once a week is a big deal, too – especially for individuals who have desk jobs and are otherwise not especially active.

Everyone loves talking about networking in the business community. Meeting with colleagues, competitors, peers, and potential clients is, after all, the name of the game and can put you ahead in business. And without question, one of the most popular networking events continues to be the after-work Happy Hour. Yet time and time again, people find themselves abusing this networking opportunity by over indulging and not getting as much as they could out of this potentially beneficial social gathering. So what are the dos and don'ts of meeting new people over drinks after a long day?
The first – and perhaps most important – thing to keep in mind before a networking Happy Hour is to remember why you're there in the first place. The ultimate goal of this social interaction is to establish contacts, whether you're looking for a new job, trying to find potential sales leads, or just establish your name in the industry. So above all else, practice moderation while drinking. There's nothing wrong with having fun and showing that you are a social, entertaining person that people want to be around, but the last thing you would ever want to do is develop a reputation that could potentially harm you later on down the road. To further compound that point, you need to remember that if you are currently employed, you are representing your company as well as yourself, adding to the importance of being on your best behavior.
Additionally, it is essential that you retain proper perspective about the implicit goal of a professional networking event or happy hour. Yes, you might be there with a specific purpose in mind, whether it is to better your prospects for employment or to do your job, but you never want to seem overt about your purpose. These are supposed to be low-key social gatherings where peers can relax and mingle and work on developing personal relationships. The irony is that the less you work at networking, the more successful you typically are. And if there is an opportunity for professional advancement then that will usually occur naturally without a whole lot of additional effort. You don't want to be the person who is aggressively pushing your resume or business card. You want to be the person who is interesting to talk to, easy to get along with, and someone people will want to get to know better.
Another good idea when it comes to professional networking is to attend gatherings in small groups. Attending a happy hour by yourself can be intimidating and difficult to get involved. However, when you attend with a friend or another coworker, you'll have strength in numbers and can better integrate yourself into the group. In the worst case scenario, you can enjoy the company you're with, alleviating some of the awkwardness and pressure of a formal networking event.
At the end of the day, happy hours are supposed to be fun. If you relax, keep the proper perspective, and don't overdo it, you'll find that it is a great, and potentially rewarding, way to unwind.

*********************** ARTICLE START ***********************
In the mid-1940s, America had just secured victory in World War II and the men and women who had fought overseas in Europe and Asia were coming home. In the years that followed, the American economy was stronger than ever before as our country helped supply the rest of the free world with the goods and products they needed to rebuild their countries. Out of this economic vigor, the middle class was effectively born, and people started to get married and have lots and lots of babies. In fact, for nearly twenty years, birth rates continually rose, which was known as the baby boom. So what does this have to do with healthcare employment decades later? Well, these so-called baby boomers are at an age that requires more frequent medical care, putting a tremendous burden on the industry's infrastructure. In short, our country is facing a situation where we're going to need all of the medical professionals we can get to provide the service that the baby boom generation deserves.
It's been no great secret that unemployment has hovered around 10 percent in our country for several years and finding a job hasn't been as easy as many job seekers would prefer. This is why it is so important to understand the role that the baby boomers will play on driving the healthcare industry. Students preparing to enter college, individuals looking for a career change, or medical professionals interested in specialization would do well to understand that while job figures in many traditionally robust industries are struggling, healthcare employment is flourishing and showing no signs of slowing down. In fact, the United States Bureau of Labor Statistics recently projected that jobs in healthcare will grow more than 20 percent through 2018, which is twice the pace of estimates for overall job growth in America.
Generally speaking, the need for primary care physicians is always near the top of lists involving the types of doctors in demand, because these professionals are sort of jacks-of-all-trades. However, the unfortunate reality is that elderly patients are at risk for a whole litany of health problems, so all sorts of specialists are and will be needed. Furthermore, there is an increased expectation for healthcare innovation to provide answers, treatments, and solutions to many healthcare questions as more and more patients deal with various ailments. Medical technology is rapidly expanding and innovations such as ubiquitous electronic medical records will eventually be the standard. Another area that continues to grow is mental health. More and more individuals are relying on regular treatment from psychiatrists and psychologists, creating a need for more experts in the field. Somewhat troubling is the fact that the majority of psychiatrists are over the age of 50 themselves, which speaks to the need for the next generation of mental health experts.
Here is a case of simple supply and demand. When you have more patients (supply), you need more doctors, nurses, anesthesiologists, support staff, lab technicians, and other medical professionals (demand). And, with the population of America aging, there is no better time than now to consider a career in healthcare.

Article Title: Beat the Heat: Las Vegas Helicopters to the Grand Canyon

*********************** ARTICLE START ***********************
Las Vegas temperatures are so hot that they're cracking 100 degrees (37°F) with ease. So, if you plan on visiting the Grand Canyon this summer, make sure you go by helicopter.
Departures
Flights from Las Vegas depart at 6 am and go all the way until 6 pm I recommend you take a morning trip before it gets too hot. That said, avoid the "early bird" specials. You'll either have the sun in your or not have it all if you go to the bottom.
I also recommend that you consider upgrading your helicopter package to include an EcoStar 130. These choppers are best of class and come with ice-cold A/C. Further, they have 25 percent more cabin space and feature stadium style seating (every seat is a great seat!).
Las Vegas helicopters go to the West Rim only. They can't reach the South Rim because it's too far away (277 miles). The West Rim, on the other hand, is just 120 miles east and takes a chopper about 45 minutes to get there.
Landing Tours
The great thing about the West Rim, too, is the fact that helicopters are allowed to land at the bottom. This can't be done at the South Rim because the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Parks Service prohibit it for safety and noise-pollution reasons.
That fact that choppers can land at the bottom opens up a world of opportunities for travelers. For instance, there's a spectacular flight that goes to the base for a picnic. This same trip can be extended to include a ride down the Colorado River.
Then there's the flight package that includes VIP tickets to the Grand Canyon Skywalk. Not sure if you know this but the glass bridge lets you walk 70 feet past the edge and into empty space. It's pretty spectacular, especially considering that by the time you reach the bridge's farthest point you'll be standing 4,000 feet over the bottom.
The Sights
You can catch an aerial tour from Vegas, too. Like the landing trips, it goes over Lake Mead, Hoover Dam, Fortification Hill, Grand Cliff's Wash, the West Rim and the Skywalk. The views are spectacular. This trip is ideal for visitors who have limited time for sightseeing or who are on a tight budget (air tours are the cheapest option).
Dress accordingly when taking a helicopter ride during a Vegas summer. This means wearing shorts, loose fitting clothes and sunglasses. If you plan on landing, I recommend packing a long-sleeved cotton shirt, a brimmed hat, sun block, water and salty snacks.
Lots of folks ask me if they can reserve the front seats. The answer is "yes." I don't recommend that you pre-pay for this upgrade. It's best to make such a purchase the day you check-in for your tour. This is because seating is assigned based on the total weight of all passengers so getting a front seat is really based on the luck of the draw.
Conclusion
It's no secret: Las Vegas is hot. Further, the deeper you go into the canyon, the hotter it gets. To visit the National Park in style and comfort, I strongly recommend helicopter tours. These aircraft come with great A/C and deliver and unforgettable experience. Do reserve your flights in advance. Las Vegas helicopters are very popular and sell out all the time. Lastly, make sure you complete your booking on the website. Doing this ensures that you get the low Internet rate, which often will save you a substantial amount of money.

If you find yourself counting sheep, tossing and turning, and huffing and puffing on a nightly basis, then you're probably in search of techniques that can help you get a better night's sleep. As a sleep-deprived individual, you well know how much your daily activities can be affected when you don't catch enough Zs. It's difficult to concentrate at work, you constantly tremor from practically overdosing on caffeine, you find yourself nodding off in meetings or – even worse – while sitting in traffic. Fortunately, there are a few things you can do to help yourself get a better night's sleep.
Become More Physically Active
Maintaining a regular exercise routine is a great way to ensure that you receive enough sleep. Just make sure that you don't exercise too close to bedtime, otherwise you may still feel energized when your head hits the pillow. If possible, try to exercise first thing in the morning or in the early afternoon. Keep in mind that you don't need to run a marathon to experience the benefits of becoming more physically active. Going on a brisk walk, riding a bike, playing with your pets, and gardening are all excellent ways to get your body moving – and to prepare it for a better night's sleep.
Limit Your Caffeine Intake
Though you may think you depend on caffeine to function when you haven't had enough sleep, you're actually doing your body more harm than good by drinking too much coffee or soda. Ideally, you shouldn't consume any caffeine after about 2 pm Your body can take several hours to metabolize caffeine and drinking coffee or soda too late in the day may not provide enough time for it to be out of your system by the time you're ready for bed.
Maintain a Regular Sleep Schedule
There's no doubt that it's tempting to sleep in on the weekend. Unfortunately, though, swaying too far from the schedule you keep Monday through Friday can wreak havoc on your ability to get a good night's sleep. While you may think that sleeping in on Saturdays and Sundays allows you to "catch up" on sleep, that's simply not the case. Get your body in the habit of going to sleep and waking up at the same time every day – even during the weekend.
Leave Stress and Anxiety at the Bedroom Door
If you're stressed because of work, your financial situation, an interpersonal relationship, or for any other reason, it's crucial that you clear your mind before your head hits the pillow. Writing in a journal is an excellent way to "cleanse" yourself of negative thoughts before you go to bed. If certain situations are keeping you from getting enough rest, then it might be time to resolve the issue, if only so you can sleep at night. Whether you need to find a new job, terminate a toxic relationship, or gain control of your finances, you'd be well served to straighten up the areas of your life that are causing stress and depleting sleep.

What is this System?
The 7 Figure Networker System is a program that teaches you how to start or expand a business (although it works best for MLM or network marketing). You will receive important step by step training that removes the veil from many of the so-called "secrets to online success". The 7 Figure Networker System is given to you in plain, everyday language that anyone can easily grasp and follow.
The Importance of Landing Pages
If you do not use landing or capture pages to their full potential you risk losing valuable business. When people click links or ads to your business they "land" on these pages. This is where you capture their interest or they leave. The 7 Figure Networker System will help you make highly effective landing pages, so you can earn more customers or clients.
Generating New Leads
Without new leads your business will stagnate and eventually die. The system teaches you ways to develop your own leads. There is no need to buy them.
The Value of Branding
Many people are not familiar with importance of "branding". Branding means associating your face or business with a logo, product, service, or idea. This product shows you how to make the public think of you when they see your images. This places you ahead of everyone else.
Using the Power of Other Minds
Years ago you had to work very hard to succeed in business. Today it is all about working smart. The 7 Figure Networker System puts you in touch with an entire community of like-minded individuals. That alone is worth far more than the cost of the training you receive from the product.
Taking Advantage of Social Networks
When you are not taking advantage of Facebook or YouTube, you miss out on some amazing opportunities. The 7 Figure Networker System shows you the benefits of social media. You will learn how to create your own promotion campaign.
No Waiting for Success
Maybe you have heard that it takes many years to build a business and become profitable. The 7 Figure Networker System training cuts the time you need for success drastically. With the help of the 7 Figure Networker System you can start making money right away and there is no need to wait.
Putting the System into Perspective
If you are not where you want to be today there is a good chance you will be in the same boat tomorrow, unless you make changes. You need an edge over the competition if you really want to make it.
You cannot put a price on the right type of training (that shows you how to build your business and thrive). The 7 Figure Networker System can give you the necessary edge that it takes to succeed.

There are a lot of Grand Canyon helicopter tour operators that service the National Park. However, if you are looking a company that does the canyon in style and luxury, you'll want to fly with Maverick Helicopters.
From Las Vegas, Maverick goes to the West Rim, and from Tusayan, AZ, they do the South Rim. It needs to be noted that there are no direct flights from Vegas to the South Rim and vice versa. If want such a flight, Maverick offers a terrific airplane package that'll whisk you over there in under an hour. To my mind, this is the absolute best option, especially when compared against bus packages that require 5.5 hours of time on the road just to reach the National Park!
One of the most popular perks you get if you go Maverick is the location of their terminals. Depending on the flight you purchase, you'll take off right from the Las Vegas Strip or from the Henderson Executive Airport, which is about 15 minutes from the Mandalay Bay. You'll especially appreciate this once you learn that Maverick's competitors ship the majority of their clients out to Boulder City Municipal Airport, which requires a 40-minute shuttle ride.
It's a little-known fact that Maverick owns and operates the largest fleet of EcoStar 130's. These are truly impressive aircraft. For starters, the cabin is up to 25% larger than that found on conventional helis. This extra space also means stadium-style seating, which means that every seat is the best in the house. The other feature I like is the 180-degree wraparound windshield.
Maverick, like its competitors, offers air and landing packages from Las Vegas. Where the company separates from the pack is in the creativity of its trips. In addition to flying to the bottom for a champagne picnic, you can also add on Vegas Strip and Valley of Fire flyovers!
At South Rim, you pick from flights that last 30 or 50 minutes. I always recommend the longer trip. The shorter trip is great if you pressed for time. However, because there's so much to see, the extended flight is the one that is the most satisfying. I also want to point out South Rim helicopters do not land at the bottom or below the rim.
Maverick flights are all-inclusive and come with free hotel shuttle service (very important as Vegas traffic can be particularly difficult to navigate), professional guide service, lunch (not applicable to air-only tours) and all National Park taxes and fees. Frankly, I'm a huge fan of package tours like this because I don't enjoy doing trip logistics during my vacation.
Maverick Helicopters isn't the cheapest option but they are the best, and they are one company where I feel comfortable telling you that you get more than you pay for. The trick to ensuring a great deal is to book your tour on their website. This will get you the Internet rate, which is much cheaper than retail.
I also recommend booking these trips at least a week in advance. In addition to you and me, there are lots of other travelers who want quality, 5-star air tours, so these flights often sell out way in advance. It's also smart to avoid same-day reservations. Just like commercial airlines, tour operators like Maverick charge more for them.
