As chemicals that are put on the skin are absorbed into the bloodstream faster than if they were eaten, the things that are in our face creams can be more toxic for our body than our food, yet the cosmetics industry is unregulated in the US While some anti-wrinkle creams and eye-creams can provide great benefits, others contain ingredients that will actually increase the appearance of aging and even make you more susceptible to cancer. When shopping for an excellent face or eye cream, here are some things to look out for, and some things to avoid. The Good Stuff: Ceramides: These fatty molecules are found in the top layer of the skin and help to keep it hydrated. Creams that contain this stuff will do an excellent job of moisturizing and protecting worn-out skin. Coenzyme Q10: Don't let the number in the name put you off. This is an antioxidant that occurs naturally in the skin, but the amount in our bodies decreases as we age. Anti-wrinkle cream containing this stuff will help to neutralize the free radicals that cause aging and can boost skin repair. Cucumber: Not only does this vegetable appear in eye-cream to reduce dark circles and puffiness around the eyes, but it also softens your skin and provides you with vitamin A to help reduce wrinkles. Hyaluronic Acid: Human skin contains tons of this protein, but as we age, we produce less and less, leading our skin to become dry and wrinkly. Creams that contain hyaluronic acid draw moisture from the air and speed up the rejuvenation of damaged skin cells, making it the perfect ingredient for anti-wrinkle creams and eye-creams that fight dark circles. Vitamin A: This vitamin improves wrinkles and keeps the skin looking smooth and young. Vitamin C: This vitamin he skin supple by encouraging collagen production. It also protects the skin from sun damage. The Bad Stuff: Alpha Hydroxy Acid: This ingredient is intended to exfoliate the skin, but it also destroys important skin cells, leaving your face more susceptible to damage, particularly from UV light. Liquid Paraffin: Also known as Mineral Oil, this stuff clogs pores and prevents the skin from getting rid of toxics, which can actually lead to premature aging. Octyl Stearate: This is used as a thickener in anti-wrinkle and eye-creams, but it clogs pores and makes your skin more sensitive to the sun, which will increase, and not decrease, the appearance of aging. Parabens: These are used as preservatives in many products, but they are also hormone mimics and are possibly carcinogenic. They can be difficult to avoid, as most companies put it in their products, but try to avoid it if possible. Sodium Lauryl Sulfate: This can damage both your skin and your eyes. It dries up your skin and can be absorbed to build up in heart, liver and lungs, and some researchers believe that this chemical is connected to breast cancer. With all their fancy names and lengthy explanations of what they will do for you, it can be slightly overwhelming to say the least. Everyone is looking for a quick solution to how to ward off those dreaded signs of aging – wrinkles! Let's take a look at some of the choices available and try to decipher the pros and cons for each of the different types of facial creams that you have to choose from. The ingredients all tout that they will erase those nasty wrinkles instantly, but let's see if you agree: Green Tea: Positives - Green Tea is a known antioxidant that will provide a natural protection to the skin from the sun and other stressors. Negatives - It is a mild ingredient that is not as potent or aggressive as some others. DMAE: Positives - It is already found in the body and is a known substance that will firm up sagging skin. Negatives – It can irritate the skin, lungs and eyes and is known to cause allergies. Plus it is suggested that it is also contaminated with formaldehyde. Alpha Hydroxy Acids or AHAs: Positives – It will tighten the skin and exfoliate it so that it is revived so it is ideal for those with normal or dry skin. Negatives – It will increase the skin's sensitivity to the sun so it should only be 10% or less of the skin care product to be safe. Hyaluronic Acid: Positives - It will hydrate the skin thus making it softer and smoother. Negatives – There are no known negatives. Beta Hydroxy Acids or BHAs: Positives – It will tighten the skin and reduce fine lines while it exfoliates thus making it ideal for those with oily skin or sensitive skin or those prone to acne. Negatives – It has been linked to cancer as it contains Salicylic Acid that has been banned in Europe as an ingredient in skin care products. Elagic Acid: Positives – It enhances the production of collagen in the skin, thus improving the elasticity of the skin while thickening the epidermis. Negatives – It needs further research as it is still a new ingredient for skin care products. You should not use any above ingredients if you do not know your skin type, some of these ingredients can cause irreversible damages to your skin There are really four basic skin types that you need to remember and one of them fits your skin: Normal – This skin type is the most balanced as it has no areas that are too dry or too oily. Dry – This skin type is generally absent of enough oil in the skin so it tends to flake and might be itchy as well. This type also tends to be more sensitive. Oily – This skin type can become shiny and excess oil can clog the skin cells causing acne and other skin conditions. Combination – This skin type has areas that are both dry and oily. If you are unsure of your skin type, you should seek assistance with a skin care professional or a dermatologist. Once you know your skin type, it will be easier for you to choose products that are suitable for your skin, but you might look to the professionals for advice on that as well especially if you have any skin condition. It is also used extensively today in skin care products due to its potent antioxidants that are powerful in combating free radicals that cause so much damage to the skin and are considered a primary cause of aging in the skin. Whether you drink green tea or get it because it is contained in products that you use, there seems to be ample proof that it promotes good health in your skin and strives to make you look younger. Everyone who is aging finds that to be good news and will do anything to ensure that their skin is as healthy and youthful looking as possible. Unfortunately, the skin's exposure to excessive sunlight, pollution and smoking ensures that it is constantly under siege from free radicals so we need all the help we can get in ridding our skin of these deadly agents that not only can prematurely age our skin but can lead to serious diseases like skin cancer. Benefits of Green Tea Extract: With its rich supply of antioxidants, green tea extract has antibacterial properties making it a very effective way to stimulate the immune system. It is an effective treatment for acne in reducing the occurrences and helping to heal the skin and keep it protected during that process. It will reduce inflammation and works synergistically with sunscreen to neutralize the sun's rays and protect the skin from the sun although it cannot block UV rays but rather works together to keep the skin protected. Ensure that you use a zinc oxide based sunscreen because it will not react to the green tea extract. Green tea extract has been found to rejuvenate skin cells and repair them so that their life cycle is extended with regular use. It has been used to treat some skin conditions like psoriasis, Rosacea and acne with promotion of skin regeneration and healing of skin that is irritated and wounded. It has also been suggested that green tea extract prevents the occurrence of skin cancer by blocking the harmful enzymes that cause it. Other benefits of green tea extract include soothing and calming skin that is sensitive or inflamed from the environment or from skin conditions. It has anti-inflammatory benefits that will improve these conditions and lessen them. It has been very effective in controlling acne without any bad side effects that are often found in other types of products. It improves the overall appearance of the skin so that it is healthier with less reoccurrences. Look for Genuine Green Tea Extract Products: Though green tea extract is a powerful antioxidant, it can easily oxidize when it comes into contact with oxygen so it is important to ensure that the green tea extract products that you purchase really contain enough to work its magic on your skin. If it is genuine green tea extract it should be listed at the top of the ingredient list on the label. It might be called EGCG or catechins as well. Concentrations of green tea extract of 200 milligrams or more are levels that are considered to be effective. Any less, and the dosage is so small that it will not have too much effect. If the green tea extract is listed at the bottom of the list, chances are there is not much green tea extract in the product to be very effective. If the label reads "green tea fragrance" then it is not the extract you are looking for. As green tea needs an essential oil to be able to penetrate the skin – as it cannot do it by itself – you must look also at the carrier oil to see what has been used as it would be dissolved in it first. These could include herbal extracts, oils or alcohols. Camellia oil is derived from green tea and is considered one of the best, but it also can be expensive so it will not often be used. Author: Dr.farid Mostamand Word Count: 530 Article URL: http://www.isnare.com/?aid=1403923&ca=Womens+Interest Format: 64cpl Contact The Author: http://www.isnare.com/eta.php?aid=1403923 Easy Publish Tool: http://www.isnare.com/html.php?aid=1403923 *********************** ARTICLE START *********************** Have you noticed that gradually you have accumulated brown spots on your skin, especially on your face and hands? Many of us do, especially as we age, and we are not happy about them. Where did these skin spots come from, and what can you do about them? The brown spots that you see today are probably the result of your lifestyle ten or more years ago. Although we didn't know this when we were young, brown spots are actually caused by over exposure to the sun's harmful UV rays. Our bodies create melanin to protect it from the sun's ultraviolet rays. Melanin is what gives our skin pigment, and eventually, with long term repeated exposure, excess pigment forms brown spots. These spots, also referred to as "liver spots" or "age spots," are not harmful, but they are unsightly. They occur mainly on those areas of our bodies that receive the most sun exposure such as the backs of our hands and our faces. Since they are caused by the sun's UV rays, prevention is the most important strategy for dealing with them. Genetics and life style play a big role, so if you are one who is prone to these skin spots, and if you spend a lot of time outdoors, be especially vigilant about using a broad spectrum sun screen. Get one that protects against both UVA and UVB rays, and that is rated at SPF 30 or above. There are both home remedies and over the counter products that can lighten these skin spots. If you choose the commercial products, consider only those that do not contain bleach or hydroquinone. Bleach can be irritating to sensitive skin, especially the face, and hydroquinone is a questionable ingredient that may cause skin cancer. Look for products such as Ageless Derma Anti Aging Skin Brightener that contain natural gentle compounds such as Alpha-Arbutin which contributes to faster, more effective skin lightening. Want to try a home remedy? There are many to choose from that are quite effective, but be patient because most of these can take months for results to become apparent. A few of the more popular home remedies are: Lemon juice – it has been used for years, and many people swear by it. Most users recommend mixing it with a little honey and dabbing it on your spots twice a day. Let it sit for a few minutes and then wipe it off. You'll have to be patient as it can take months to see significant fading of your brown spots. Milk products – milk, yogurt, and buttermilk all contain lactic acid which can lighten the skin. Apply it twice a day, and after a few minutes wipe it off. Both Aloe Vera and Vitamin E can be rubbed into brown spots to lighten them. These elements contain healthy antioxidants that can be beneficial to your skin. It's important to know that you can lighten those unsightly brown spots. Whether you choose commercial or home products, you don't have to live with those skin spots. The objective is to help the patient appear younger with tighter and smoother skin. Fine lines and wrinkles become noticeably improved with tightening. It is a noninvasive tool used to achieve a facelift-like appearance without having to undergo surgery. Other uses for Thermage have been found, also. It can help alleviate cellulite, especially in women. It can tighten the abdominal area, upper arm skin that has become loosened with age, tighten sagging buttocks and other areas that need strengthening such as breasts and thighs. The way Thermage works is by the use of mono-polar radiofrequency energy. This energy heats the underlying skin areas to be treated, as it protects the outer skin, or epidermis, and produces a tightening of the skin by remodeling deep dermal collagen. Thermage works best before the skin becomes too lax with age, so it should be done at the optimal time. Thermage treatment can take from thirty minutes to two hours, depending upon the number of areas to be treated and the size of the areas. If performed in a doctor's office, a light oral sedation can be used to minimize any discomfort or feelings of excessive warmth on the skin. The treatments are approved by the Federal Drug Administration. Thermage can be safely used in conjunction with other types of skin renewal techniques, such as chemical peels, Microdermabrasion such as Botox, Restylane, Radiesse and laser therapy. Advantages of Thermage Thermage is a safe alternative to surgical interventions, such as a facelift. Once Thermage treatment is finished, patients can return to their normal, every day activities, with no down time that would be associated with more invasive techniques. The results of Thermage continue to improve for many months, perhaps six for some patients. Most patients only require one treatment in order to achieve their desired effects. Disadvantages of Thermage Patients may experience mild or moderate swelling and/or redness on their skin. Sunscreen must be worn on the treated areas in order to protect the skin and prolong the desired results. The results of Thermage treatments can take anywhere from six weeks to two months to become fully effective. Larger areas of the body that are treated may take more than one visit to achieve the desired effects. Restylane is used to plump the folds and lines on the skin's surface. It is made from a non-animal type of hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid (a bacterial source) is naturally produced in humans to give skin its fullness and volume. Water binds with the acid, producing a more voluminous look to the area of the skin's surface. A dermatologist or other qualified practitioner injects the product quickly and with ease. Often there is no anesthetic required. When Restylane is injected into the dermis, it fills up the space between the aged fibers of collagen and elastin; this helps renew the volume we lose with age. Restylane is used most commonly as a lip plumper. It is injected just below the skin's surface, into the tissue of the face. Very much like Botox, Restylane is also useful for filling in lines and wrinkles, such as crow's feet, eye wrinkles and around other wrinkle-prone areas of the face. It is also useful for adding volume to the cheek area and shaping the chin, forehead and nose. Advantages of Restylane Use: There is no risk of an infection entering the body with the use of Restylane. Restylane is a natural substance found in our own bodies, therefore there is little fear of an allergic reaction. It is not an animal by-product or a completely synthetic substance as some other dermal fillers are. Depending upon how large an area is to be treated, injections can be spaced out to be given over the course of ten minutes or up to an hour. If an anesthetic is needed (which is often used for lip plumping), it is a local anesthetic or numbing agent only. The needles used to inject the product are very thin, causing little discomfort. You will see an immediate plumping effect, ridding the face of lines and wrinkles. This effect can last for up to twelve months, gradually fading, but lasting much longer than some other dermal fillers. Patients can return to normal activities immediately after receiving their injections. Restylane gives excellent, positive results that last for months. Disadvantages of Restylane: Although allergic reactions are rare, those with any specific bacterial allergies or known reactions to hyaluronic acid should not use the product. There is a possible occurrence of a reaction at the injection site: swelling, inflammation, discoloration or tenderness has been known to occur in some patients. You do need multiple, repeated injections of the substance in order to maintain the look desired, similar to Botox and other dermal fillers, though patients can go for much longer period b. It is not a permanent solution to wrinkles and lines. You are also probably wondering what caused them to develop in the first place. People who have dark circles under their eyes tend to look older than people who do not. Dark circles under your eyes will age you more than just having grey hair will. They are, by far, the most common complaint given by women who are unhappy about their aging appearance. Dark circles under your eyes are often caused by allergies. If this is what is causing your dark circles, then simply removing yourself from the allergen will go a long way toward getting rid of them. Some allergies can be treated very effectively with over-the-counter remedies and these will often eliminate or minimize dark circles under your eyes. If your dark circles under your eyes are a constant feature experienced by you, then you may have developed a food allergy of some sort. You may wish to consult with a dermatologist to see if you can determine what things you might have developed an allergy to. Many people who have allergies also tend to be deficient in certain vitamins. It is thought that taking a multivitamin will help people with allergies and will help with their dark circles under their eyes. Dark circles under your eyes can also be caused by an allergy to gluten or an intolerance to gluten.. A more severe extension of this allergy is something called celiac disease. This disease can only be diagnosed by a physician, usually through a variety of blood tests. There are many ways to deal with dark circles under the eyes. One of the most popular tried and true remedy for dark circles is to place a cucumber slice over each eye. This will help reduce puffiness around the eyes. Simply place a slice of cucumber over each eye being sure to cover the dark area. Lie down and rest like this for about fifteen minutes while keeping your eyes closed. Another popular treatment for dark circles is to use cool tea bags or even ice cubes that have been wrapped in a soft cloth. Tea contains a product called tannin and tannin will reduce swelling and also discoloration. Be sure to use tea bags which contain caffeinated tea as the caffeine is what contains the tannin. After steeping a cup of tea, place the tea bags in the refrigerator overnight. The next morning, lie down and place them over your eyes being sure to cover the dark circles. Keep them there for about ten to fifteen minutes with your eyes closed. Using either of these two treatments will greatly reduce the appearance of dark circles under your eyes. As you're probably beginning to see, the skin around your eyes is very delicate. If it gets tired or dry or stressed, you develop dark circles. The best under eye treatment will rest your eyes or hydrate your skin. Keeping your skin under your eyes moist is crucial to healthier looking skin. When you choose an under eye treatment eye cream, make sure you choose something specifically designed for under your eyes, where the skin is very delicate. Follow the directions and remove the eye cream after the designated time to let your skin breathe. In the past, facial peels were so expensive that only a few were able to have one. While today, facial peels and other types of spa treatments are available not only from professionals, but there are products that can easily be used in the home. What is a facial peel? A facial peel is a process that sloughs away dead skin cells from the surface of the skin while it softens and enhances the smoothness of the skin's healthy cells. There are several powerful ingredients that are typically in a facial peel that will enhance the process and ensure healthy skin. These include Alpha Hydroxyl Acid and Beta Hydroxyl Acid along with Retinol and Tricholoracetic Acid also known as TCA that is most often found in a spa and now are available for home use. Light facial peels can be done at home and many do them on a daily or weekly basis as there is no recovery period needed. A deeper and more extensive facial peel will penetrate deeper into the skin layers and should be done by a skin care professional or physician and these types of facial peels should not be done often as they also require a recovery period that can be lengthy. Depending on your needs or the extent of the skin damage, you should consider these two different types of facial peels from these reputable companies: Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare offers a daily facial peel for those who want to take advantage of the ability to do this at home. It is a cost effective approach to a peel that will only take a few minutes each day. First you apply the peel to your face. After two minutes, you apply a neutralizer. Both can be applied with pre-moistened pads that are included providing you with a facial peel that is hassle free and will not irritate the skin. The main ingredients of these facial peels are Glycolic Acid, Lactic Acid, Malic Acid and Salicylic Acid. PCA Skincare offers a powerful facial peel that should be used by a trained skin care professional such as an esthetician or a physician. It should be performed in a professional environment like a clinic or a spa. The PCA Skincare facial peel products come in a variety of types, depending on your skin type and what your sp particular problem area is. These deeper facial peels require a recovery period when they offer other types of products that will speed up the recovery process and keep you comfortable. These structures being manipulated can be sized anywhere from one to one hundred nanometers. The new and innovative materials being developed with nanotechnology can have a wide spectrum of uses and applications. For instance, nanotechnology is utilized in medicine, the production of energy, electronics and biomaterials. In essence, any technique or tool that is small enough and interesting to use can be referred to as nanotechnology. To have control and to have the ability to change matter on the scale of nanometers is a necessary ingredient for nanotechnology. It is the building of working systems on a molecular scale that are remarkably light in weight, strong, intelligent, and durable. Nanotechnology produces nanomaterials, which have the ability to target specific areas. With the use of nanotechnology, skin care products can be made that better penetrate beneath the skin's surface. Skin care products that use nanotechnology by converting the ingredients into nano-sized products can improve the blood's circulation, resulting in reducing those dark circles under the eyes, for instance. It does this by eliminating waste products and oxidized particles that cause the dark circles in the first place. Nanotechnology can also be used for other pigmentation issues. Combining vitamin K with nanotechnology can alleviate the appearance of unsightly spider veins on the skin. Using Vitamin K to treat spider veins has been previously known, but it has not before been able to penetrate the skin as it is able to today using nanotechnology. It can also moisturize, giving skin a nourished, smooth and healthy look. Those who would like the wrinkles and lines removed from their lips no longer have to undergo lip augmentation. Because of nanotechnology, lip plumpers will increase the volume and plumpness of your lips with the simple application of a lipstick tube that has plumper ingredients in it. Stretch marks, scars and sagging skin can also be helped by nanotechnology. The microscopic particles used in nanotechnological skin care treatment can penetrate into the skin. The absorption is quick. Skin care products such as anti-aging creams and sunscreen are used and manufactured as nano skin care products. The primary benefits of nanoparticles used in sunscreens are that the particles can fit into all the tiny areas and cracks of the skin, placing more protection and evenly placed sunscreen coverage on the skin's surface. Sunscreen products manufactured using nanoparticles are more cosmetically appealing because they seem to vanish into the skin when they are applied. People will use them more frequently for this reason, contributing to the anti-aging effects of the product. Sunscreens using macro-sized particles actually absorb ultraviolet light, and can possibly be toxic to humans. The sunscreens using nanoparticles coat the skin and do not allow for ultraviolet absorption. A product that uses nanotechnology is considered to be a "natural" product. The products do not simply lay on the skin's surface; they penetrate the skin, a product that has been sought out for a very long time. It works to keep the joints and muscles lubricated. Unfortunately hyaluronic acid has a short life span of perhaps one day in the skin, making it essential that it be constantly replenished to keep the skin nourished. If the skin has enough hyaluronic acid it will continue to keep the collagen production producing the connective tissue that keeps the skin structured as well as toned so that it is firmer and more youthful looking. But like many other things in the body, the amount of hyaluronic acid produced in the skin reduces as we age. It then leaves the collagen with less moisture so that it starts to sag and becomes dried out because it cannot maintain its level of hydration needed without constant replenishment. This in turn leads to wrinkles and other visible signs of aging that will continue to worsen if the hyaluronic acid levels in the skin are not increased. Why the Skin Needs Hyaluronic Acid The good news is that hyaluronic acid is abundant in the skin with almost 50% of the body's hyaluronic acid found there. It is found in all layers of the skin and keeps the skin moistened by binding up to 1000 times its weight in water. The collagen in the skin is what keeps the skin firm and it is hydrated by the hyaluronic acid so that when the skin stretches it goes back to its shape. Besides retaining water that in turn provides needed nourishment to the skin, hyaluronic acid is also used to reduce inflammation and is vital to keeping the skin looking and feeling healthier. Skin without this vital ingredient will have that tired loose look that becomes wrinkled and unattractive and causes premature aging if not remedied. It has also been used in products to treat skin conditions such as psoriasis, melasma or Rosacea and has also been effective in treating acne. It is, therefore, used in more than anti aging products but can also be found in products to treat discoloration of the skin or scarring. Where to Find Hyaluronic Acid Since our production of hyaluronic acid reduces with age, we need to replenish our supply so that we can repair the skin that has been damaged from environmental stress and sun damage or premature aging. It is found often in many skin care products because it is a great moisturizer making it extremely beneficial to the skin. There are many anti aging products available where you can get the hyaluronic acid that is needed for the skin. With creams, cleansers and lotions and other products there is no problem finding one, but the amounts of hyaluronic acid in these products will vary tremendously so you need to read the labels carefully and determine which one is right for you – and ensure that it is treating the skin condition that you are trying to remedy. You can also take health supplements so that you get the hyaluronic acid internally rather than by applying it topically to the skin. Some of the supplements with ample amounts of hyaluronic acid may be more expensive, especially those that are injected rather than taken in capsule form. You can find these hyaluronic acid supplements in pharmacies, vitamin shops or health food stores and they can also be found online through distributors or other online stores. Are There Side Effects with Hyaluronic Acid? Most products that you purchase to be used topically in a cream, a lotion, cleanser, mask or other treatment will not contain high concentrations of hyaluronic acid but as noted the concentrations will vary by product. Most people do not have any negative reactions to hyaluronic acid but sometimes people have a mild reaction like a rash or minor skin irritation that will cease when you stop taking it. If it is injected into the skin, it might cause redness or slight pain for awhile but rarely are there any allergic reactions to hyaluronic acid. It is recommended however, that you should not take hyaluronic acid during pregnancy or if you are breast feeding especially if taken by injection as the effects are unknown on the infant. The substance to be used is injected into the area needed to be, basically, plumped up or filled in. The reasons for using dermal fillers vary, from filling in facial lines and wrinkles, to correcting nasolabial folds, to lessening the scars of acne, and other dermatological uses. The substances used vary but the effect is to make the skin look smoother, filling out the area with collagen or other soft tissue materials. These non-surgical procedures are usually very safe and most effective when applied by a dermatologist or a plastic surgeon rather than in a spa or by a non-aesthetic physician. The effect can often last anywhere from one to three years. Getting dermal fillers can be very expensive, however. Results are not usually seen with just one or two treatments. Some people can also suffer an allergic reaction from the substances used. Redness, bruising and other skin sensitivities such as inflammation or swelling at the injection site may be obvious for a while after the procedure is done. Some of the most well-known dermal fillers are Botox and Restylane. Other injected substances include Radiesse, Juvederm, Perlane, Zyplast, Zyderm, Dermalogen, Artecoll, Hylaform and Dermalive. Each of these will be discussed in more detail and can be useful as a guide when choosing which dermal filler can be of use to you. In this Article we discuss Juvederm Juvederm Juvederm is an injectable dermal filler gel used to soften facial wrinkles and deep folds in the skin. It is mostly a hyaluronic acid product, much as Restylane, Dermalive, Hylaform and some other fillers are. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally-derived substance found in the skin, tendons and muscles of humans and other mammals. It promotes fullness and volume beneath the skin's surface. The injections of Juvederm fill the spaces between collagen and elastin fibers in the skin, renewing volume and making the patient look younger. Removing and smoothing nasolabial folds or "smile lines" is the primary use for Juvederm. In fact, in studies comparing Juvederm with another popular dermal filler, Zyplast, 80% of patients using both products found Juvederm to be more effective at smoothing facial folds. This filler gel is also often used as a lip augmenter and as a filler for facial scarring. Advantages of Juvederm: Juvederm is one of the more longer lasting of the dermal fillers. It can last up to one year with just one treatment. When the injections are given, there is less bruising and inflammation than with some other dermal injectables. The injectable gel is also more comfortable because of the way it is manufactured with the added ingredient of lidocaine, an anesthetic. There is little risk of hyperpigmentation or hypertrophic scarring, making Juvederm safe and quite effective for persons of color. Because Juvederm is a hyaluronic acid, there is a lessened chance of patients having an allergic reaction since it is a naturally occurring human substance. Reactions to Juvederm such as redness tend to last only for up to a week at most. As with all dermal fillers, the effect is temporary; this is good in that it gives patients a chance to see if they actually are happy with the results. Juvederm is reabsorbed in the body through the normal digestive processes. If the proper look is achieved, patients can opt to receive more injections in the future; if they are not happy with the results, nothing is lost in the overall process. Disadvantages of Juvederm: Although this substance works well, within six to nine months it is reabsorbed into the body, causing the patient to return for more injections in order to maintain the desired effects. This can become costly. There can be brusing, redness, soreness, swelling and bumps at the injection site. Juvederm is not recommended for people with severe allergies. *********************** ARTICLE END *********************** - To distribute your articles go to http://www.isnare.com/distribution.php - For more free-reprint articles go to http://www.isnare.com |

Especially when you hit a break through in your life because of it. Think about the people you know or the job you have. That version of reality would have never come into existence if those events had not occurred. The Partnership that Started it All This was the case with Voyager.io, our very first Saas product. Thinking back, I ask myself if Voyager would have ever come into existence if1 it wasn't for our team pulling the trigger on the opportunity to collaborate with UTPA's Continuing Education (local university) director to plan an event called Code Factory. Initially, we were working towards a partnership between our consultancy - Create the Bridge - and UTPA to begin offering courses through the university. Our team met with the director of Continuing Education to discuss the classes we would be interested in offering later that year. We wanted to offer classes that would better prepare university level student for jobs in the design & technology industries. To gain exposure for the classes; we created Code Factory; a community event held for high school and university students in the Rio Grande Valley. Code Factory The event was a huge success! Four of our team members had demonstrations on different subjects around design and tech and we filled the building with 100 students who were all interested in what the we had to offer. You're probably asking... where's Voyager? Well the truth is; the initial concept of Voyager was within one of our demonstrations given by Nathan; one of our developers and co-founders at Bridge. We refer to it as our "Alpha Version". In our efforts to produce something interesting and relevant that students would be excited about, we had no idea that our Code Factory alpha version would inspire what is now Voyager. We encouraged the students to interact with us and give us their thoughts on the event by posting on Twitter & Instagram which would then be aggregated into Voyager. And as you'll see.. they loved it : http://codefactory.herokuapp.com. Voyager Launches It wasn't until a few weeks after that we realized the potential Voyager had as a Saas product.1 The thing is people want to interact with you digitally and socially, we do it all the time. Even if we hadn't encouraged the students to post on their social accounts; they would have done it anyways because that's what we do. Though without a tool like Voyager; we wouldn't have had a single source where all that content would be aggregated. This is what Voyager does; it's a social media tool that collects and publishes your social activity all in one place; on your website or monitor display for example. After we spoke to a few of our clients, they couldn't wait until we launched. We had consumer validation. We're in Pre-Launch As of now, we're in pre-launch and we're running a campaign to help spread the word about Voyager. Join and support us through the process by subscribing to our mailing list. Smith Word Count: 1172 Article URL: http://www.isnare.com/?aid=1908314&ca=Womens+Interest Format: 64cpl Contact The Author: http://www.isnare.com/eta.php?aid=1908314 Easy Publish Tool: http://www.isnare.com/html.php?aid=1908314 *********************** ARTICLE START *********************** Trying to look young has generated a multi-billion market as it ushered in several beauty products and treatments. If you are looking for a way to look young and pretty today, there are several options out there for the taking. But let me invite you in on some secrets. It actually pays to know them so that you can get the best possible anti-aging choice among the plethora of options. 1. Try checking what you put into your body as much as what you put on When it comes to making yourself look and feel young, it's not just what you rub over your face but also on what you take in. Why is this so important? It's because if you want your glow to radiate from within, you have to make sure that the system is "well oiled" or running optimally. You have to put importance on your food choices and water intake. Choosing a healthy diet may not be the best for the palate at all times, but it is what's best for your cells. It nourishes them so that they generate and renew faster, improve their quality and make them stronger. Some people fail to do this and even skip this very important step. Choose fruits, greens, healthy meats, and why not even try out juicing instead of sweet or alcoholic drinks. You could also really do well if you avoid processed foods. Usually, these healthy diet alterations are quite hard to follow especially for the younger generation. People in their twenties usually recuperate easy, which is why they don't see or feel the damage right away. It is when a person enters their 30s when some of the problem starts to become evident. This is when most people scram to do something. But don't worry because it's not too late for you yet. Just allow yourself to make the radical change. You can wear your face creams and serums, but healthy dietary changes will set you a few steps ahead when it comes to generating results. 2. Be wise with sun exposure Sun is not so bad for you, given that you get some exposure at the right time and at the right amounts. This holds true even for those who are living in places that have below zero temperatures. Now the secret here is that you should always give your skin the protection it needs. This is where sunscreen use comes in. If you have not been slathering some everyday, you are depriving your skin the much needed protection it deserves. Sunscreen should be worn everyday and it should have at least an SPF of 15. On top of that it also has to be broad spectrum. What that means is that you protect your skin from both UVA and UVB rays. These are the reasons why sun exposure give you uneven skin pigmentation, sun spots, fine lines, wrinkles and skin sagging. UVA, in particular, reaches deep down into the dermal layer causing the degeneration of skin layers. A layer of sunscreen a day could really help you prevent premature skin aging. Be sure to reapply every two hours if you do have to go enjoy a day out on the beach or if you have to go swimming. If you have to get that daily jog, stay at out of the sun between the hours of 10 am to 4 pm. But it doesn't mean that you should just lock yourself indoors within these hours. So if you have to go out and run errands, be sure to protect yourself appropriately. Aside from sunscreen, protective clothing will also be very helpful. 3. Choose skin treatments that promote skin regeneration If you are really down on making it right with your skin and avoid premature aging, it pays to invest on professional treatments. Chemical peels, mechanical dermabrasion and laser treatments are among those procedures that can actually do your skin a whole lot of good. Without having to resort to surgery, you help reverse skin aging while promoting skin renewal and regeneration. You don't get that from a facelift. But these treatments work by waking up your skin cells and help them function optimally. Now the drawback with non-invasive skin treatments is that they only work best with those who have minimal to moderate skin problems. Individuals with advanced skin aging may want more radical treatment or surgery. There are skin care products that actually provide this action, but the reason why professional skin care treatments are better is that they provide faster and better results. What you may get out of months of applying skin cream may be achieved two or three sessions with professional treatments. So, you better decide on how serious you are with your anti-aging measures and choose which treatments you want to invest your money on. But you really don't have to choose one over the other, skin care products and treatments can actually work synergistically to create an overall pleasing result. 4. Pay attention to retinoids Retinoids are actually something that you should welcome into your skin care routine. You may have encountered this before, but you may not be giving it the attention it deserves. Retinoids are considered to be the gold standard in anti-aging due to its action of preventing and repairing the skin cell damage. This corrects problem such as hyperpigmentation, acne scars, fine lines and some degree of sagging. The problem with retinoids is that there are individuals who cannot tolerate this on their skin. But you don't have to worry because retinoids are not the sole answer to your skin aging problems. But these help in heaps and bounds; so if your skin is happy with it, make sure that you choose products that contain retinoids. If you really want to promote skin firming and anti aging, a prescription-strength retinoid can be your best option. 5. Get a good basic skin care routine This may not be newsflash for you, but what I want to underline is the importance of having a good skin care routine. Even without the anti-aging details, a cleanser and moisturizer everyday can already make a significant difference. This is way much better than simply doing nothing at all. This will be your safety net in avoiding premature skin aging, even without the breakthrough products and treatments. Also, remember that you focus in common problem areas, such as the eyes, mouth, neck and hands. Once you get down with the basics, you can then add a few more tweaks that will certainly bring anti-aging to a whole new level. So when you feel tired and out to go through all the frills of keeping your skin clean and youthful, at least you have your basics down like it's second nature to you. *********************** ARTICLE END *********************** - To distribute your articles go to http://www.isnare.com/distribution.php - For more free-reprint articles go to http://www.isnare.com |

Author: Corporate Photography Ltd Word Count: 591 Article URL: http://www.isnare.com/?aid=1908327&ca=Marketing Format: 64cpl Contact The Author: http://www.isnare.com/eta.php?aid=1908327 Easy Publish Tool: http://www.isnare.com/html.php?aid=1908327 *********************** ARTICLE START *********************** Corporate Photography Ltd supplies City and West End clients with business portrait photography. We specialise in formal and informal office and location headshots for individuals and businesses who require a professional portrait for their online profiles either on their company website or for social media sites like LinkedIn and Google+. A couple of years back we were mostly shooting headshots with a white backdrop behind the person which was the traditional style and resulted in a veery formal and simple style of photo. As a company we preferred to shot our headshots with a more office based background so that the subject was photographed with a sense of business environment and this could include a logo or corporate branding colours so that the simple headshot could be used a marketing tool as well. This style of portraiture has become much more popular now and clients are seeing the benefits of having a contemporary headshot in a formal or informal business setting. Recently we have been promoting the idea of having your online profile photo with a London location backdrop. These are carefully taken to avoid it looking like a tourist photo but subtly involve including an element of corporate London in the background. Some clients prefer a City skyline in the photo and we include this slightly out of focus to reduce the impact of the well known cityscape and help the focus remain on the individual. Other clients like small details included to just suggest they are based in The City. We do this by adding elements of stonework or modern architecture again out of focus which give a London feel to the headshot. The standard procedure for a commission is that we discuss the best location with the clients and then we will spend around 15 mins taking a variety of different poses with a selection of London backdrops. At this point we will review the portrait on the back of the camera with the subject and decide if we need some extra images or we have captured the correct headshots for the business requirements. Follow the shoot we will supply all the images via a secure download so the client can select the best portrait and we will then enhance and retouch the image if required. We supply the end product as a high res and mid res file and as a Linkedin cropped format ready for upload onto all business social media sites. If it is a large corporate client that requires images of all their employees for staff headshots or an About Us page on the corporate website we can shoot the headshots in a standard style and add the backgrounds at a later date. It would be impractical to shoot 100s of individual headshots at a London location so we have in the past shot a variety of London skyline backdrops all out of focus and then added them with Photoshop to create City location headshots for each employee. Looking forward to a new style of business headshots that we have been promoting is the 'at business' style which has the subject not looking to camera and chatting or looking away and off camera. These are popular as the subject does not have to pose for the photograph rather just has to concentrate on talking or working in the office or meeting and we capture a good selection of 'in action' shots and then we proceed with the same process as the location shots. *********************** ARTICLE END *********************** - To distribute your articles go to http://www.isnare.com/distribution.php - For more free-reprint articles go to http://www.isnare.com |

It is also referred to as the Englishman's drink, but it has pleased a lot of palates from different age groups. If you are one who is fond of drinking it, you might have heard of a handful of myths going around. Let us clear the air to help you not only to be more knowledgeable about the drink, but to enjoy it better by landing the best kind. Rum has to be sweet. One of the biggest myths about rum is that it has to be sweet. This stems from the fact that the drink is made from sugar, but this doesn't mean that it has to be sweet. It is yeast that converts sugar to alcohol and carbon dioxide. Now you have to understand that when referring to beverages, sweetness pertains to the level of alcohol or its dryness.
