Microsoft developed this for the Windows operating system. SYS files are known as third-party critical system files or device drivers that are considered part of the Windows OS. Most of these types of files enable personal computer hardware, built in or otherwise, to communicate with certain third-party programs like word processors and web browsers. Update your device drivers. Manually performing the updates might take a while so if you want to address this problem as soon as possible, you should use a driver update. This tool can help update all of the personal computer device drivers and not just those that are closely associated with SYS-related blue screen errors. The tool's update technology not only makes sure that you have the right driver versions for your system and your hardware but also creates a backup of the current drivers before the tool will make any changes. Fix the registry entries that are connected with MSDN Disc 1640. As much as possible, you should not manually fix the registry entries. Manually editing the Windows registry settings can make the problems worse by bringing new problems like failure of your PC to start up and creation of irreversible damage to the operating system. You may only manually edit the entries in the registry if you are thoroughly trained for the job. Conduct a full malware scan for the system. There is a large probability that the usbccg.sys "stop problem" is closely related to a malware infection that is taking place in your personal computer. The malicious intruders will potentially delete, corrupt, or even damage the SYS-related files before you know it. There is also the risk that the blue screen of death error is closely related to the aspect of the problematic program itself. If you still do not have an installed malware protection program, you have to download one as soon as possible. Use the system restore feature of Windows to help cancel certain system changes that you made recently. You need to observe certain rules so you can effectively use this feature in Windows 7, 8, Vista, or XP. These are just some of the following: Click the start button. Type in the words "system restore" in your search box before you hit the enter button. Click the system restore option among the results. If the system prompted you to do so, enter the administrator password. Follow the posted steps in Wizard to select your restore point. Finally, restore your system to its former, working version. Uninstall programs associated with "usbccgp.sys" or MSDN Disc 1640. Reinstalling the MSDN Disc 1640-related programs may be the solution if the system error is connected to a specific application in your personal computer unit. Get to the list of features and programs by pressing the start button and clicking on the control panel option located on the right side of the menu. Click the programs option. Click the programs and features option. Look for the "usbccg.sys-related" program in the name column. Click on the entry related to MSDN Disc 1640. Click the uninstall button. You can find this on the top part of the menu ribbon. Follow the directions that you can readily see on screen. These steps will help you complete uninstallation of the SYS file-related programs. To scan for errors, you have to do the following: Obtain a USB flash drive that you would connect to your computer unit. Download the USB tool for the "SYS" file error clean-up. Run the program. Take note that this will get rid of all the data on your USB drive. The program will then be installed in the USB. You are now ready to test for certain errors with usbccg.sys. Restart computer while USB drive is inserted. The program will then test for memory corruption. Follow the commands displayed on the screen. Perform a Clean Windows installation. Reinstalling Windows is considered as a last resort. It is also a time-consuming task. To help prevent data loss, you should back up all of your important files before you resort to this procedure. After you have reinstalled Windows, everything in your hard drive will be erased. Therefore, this will permit you to start anew with a fresh system. At the same time, this will help get rid of the unnecessary files that have accumulated over time. These are just some of the concepts that you have to know and learn regarding how you can fix your usbccg.sys errors. To help you address the errors more efficiently, you may want to try using a dll error repair tool to help do the job for you. About The Author: There is no need to shell out cash for a DLL fix; you can easily download a registry repair tool for free. As soon as you see the notification, you have to be prepared with a possible list of solutions to address the system's problems. Note that these notifications typically appear while you are installing or using certain applications. In this article, you will learn more about msvcrt40.dll, the errors related to it, and how to fix them as soon as you can. Restore the "msvcrt40.dll" file from recycle bin. The most probable cause of the file version errors is the accidental deletion of the original copy. This is usually done by accident. If you suspect this but have already emptied your recycle bin recently, you have to recover the file using free file recovery programs. There are various legitimate sites that offer this tool for free or for a relatively low cost. Run a malware or virus scan for the entire system. Some of the system errors may be associated with a malware infection or a virus on your personal computer unit that had damaged your dynamic link library file. It is even possible that the error that you are currently encountering is connected to hostile applications that disguise themselves as the file itself. Use the system restore menu to undo any of the recent system changes. If you think that the system error is brought about by changes made to essential files or configurations, you can solve the technical problem by resorting to the system restore option. Reinstall any of the programs that utilize msvcrt40.dll of any version. If the dynamic link library errors take place when you utilize a specific application, program reinstallment should readily replace the problematic version. You should try your best to accomplish this step. If it is possible, program reinstallment is a really effective solution to the error. This is especially true if the program directly provides the program set file that you need. Update all of your drivers for hardware devices. These drivers may or may not be related to msvcrt40.dll files. For instance, if you are receiving error notifications when you are playing video games, you have to try updating your drivers for the video card. Also, you have to pay close attention to the troubleshooting and error context. Roll back your drivers to previously installed versions. You should do this if the program set problems start appearing after you updated a specific hardware device driver. Run the sfc /scannow file checker command. This will help you replace a corrupt or missing copy of the file. If Microsoft has already provided the DLL file, the tool for system file checking should readily restore this. Install any of the currently available Windows updates. Many of the patches and service packs can update or replace some of the Microsoft distributed dynamic link library files in your personal computer unit. The msvcrt40.dll file can be included in one of the updates. Test your system's memory as well as the hard drive. If your computer's hard drive and memory can easily be tested, you may resort to this step. Your system's hard drive and memory are two of the components that may cause problems to the system file versions. Therefore, you should test these components first. If they fail any of the tests, you should repair those errors or replace the hard drive or the memory as soon as you can. Repair Windows installation. If the previous troubleshooting steps are unsuccessful, you have to start-up the repair process or the repair installation process. Use free registry cleaners. This will help you repair dynamic link library file issues in your registry. You can use free registry cleaner applications for this step. Perform your own Windows clean installation. You should take note that all of the information that you have stored in your hard drive will be deleted during the clean install process. Fixing the program set errors by using troubleshooting steps prior to this step is highly advisable. Troubleshoot for presence of any hardware problem. You should only resort to this method if the errors still persist after trying out the previous steps. After a clean Windows installation and you still see no improvement, the problem is most likely related to your hardware. In this regard, hardware replacement may be your best bet at the moment. If you are still having problems with your system after all of the methods discussed above, you may try to download a "dll" error repair tool. About The Author: A kernel32 dll download would enable you to resolve DLL issues without wasting too much time and resources in the process. If your computer is experiencing unexpected slow down and Internet Explorer or "IE" is the likely culprit, here are some remedies to get you out of that slump. Note: Some issues that you are experiencing may appear in other forms. Please feel free to apply the closest possible fix or fixes below. Issue # 1: "Iexplore.exe" is missing Scenario: After clicking your usual iexplore.exe shortcuts (eg Start Menu, Desktop), your computer cannot find the iexplore.exe location. Solution: Find iexplore.exe on your computer. Go to Start > Search Programs and Files (or on your keyboard, press F3) Locate iexplore.exe using the search tool Once found, create a copy of iexplore.exe Go to C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer and paste the file to the rightful iexplore.exe location. Fire up your iexplore.exe shortcuts again Issue #2: Iexplore.exe application error (followed by various error codes) Scenario: Whenever you attempt to launch iexplore.exe, Windows encounters an exception error. Iexplore.exe then fails to launch. Solution #1: Open the Start Menu and go to All Programs > Accessories > System Tools Click on Internet Explorer (No Add-ons) Go to Run Programs In iexplore.exe, click on Tools > Internet Options > Programs tab > Manage add-ons Disable add-ons that are not from Microsoft Corporation Close iexplore.exe and re-open it normally Solution #2: Alternatively, you may access iexplore.exe via command prompt: Type cmd and press Enter In the command prompt window, type cd c:\Program Files\Internet Explorer Type iexplore.exe –extoff and press Enter (this is one of the iexplore.exe switches meant to disable add-ons) In iexplore.exe, click on Tools > Internet Options > Programs tab > Manage add-ons Disable add-ons that are not from Microsoft Corporation Close iexplore.exe and re-open it normally Solution #3: Reset iexplore.exe settings (applies to Windows 8/8.1 users only) Go to Tools > Internet Options > Advanced tab Click Reset Once the Reset Internet Explorer Settings dialog box opens, click Reset After iexplore.exe is done reverting back to its default settings, click Close then click OK Close iexplore.exe and re-open it normally Issue # 3: Iexplore.exe is not responding Scenario: Whenever you open a new window or tab and navigate to a certain site, iexplore.exe freezes up Solution: Open the Task Manager - Press "CTRL + ALT + DELETE then click Start Task Manager" or - Press "CTRL + SHIFT + ESC "to immediately launch Task Manager Go to the Processes tab Look for processes named "iexplore.exe *32" that are consuming a high number of memory Select on each process. Then click End Process. Issue # 4: Iexplore.exe running in the background but no IE is opened Scenario: iexplore.exe is using high cpu allocation but no instance of IE can be seen. This may be causing your browser or your computer to crash regularly or respond very slowly. Solution: Open the Task Manager (please use the shortcuts found in the previous steps) Go to the Processes tab Look for processes named iexplore.exe *32 that are consuming a high number of memory Instead of clicking End Process, right click the select End Process Tree Note: Iexplore.exe is technically not a virus. However, an iexplore.exe virus or malware might have found itself in your computer and is disguising as the actual browser itself. If such as is the case, the workarounds mentioned earlier might just work temporarily (or worse, not at all) as this iexplore.exe virus 2014 have possibly embedded itself in your system's registry. A more robust iexplore.exe virus removal is still possible through the use of an iexplore.exe virus removal tool or a free registry cleaner. This can greatly help you in providing a more permanent solution in your iexplore.exe woes (and in your other software with similar issues), without the need for a fresh install of IE or Windows. There is no need to be in constant panic mode whenever the de facto Windows browser is not having a good day. You can easily overcome whatever temper tantrum it throws at you with a few simple clicks and tricks up your sleeve. The computer suddenly freezes and the screen will display a series of error messages. BSOD is a common Windows error regardless if whether your computer is old or new. It causes loss of data, especially unsaved data, and can recur overtime. Causes The main cause for such error is that the file has been corrupted or deleted. This file, together with other registry files, is important in the proper functioning of the computer. Any incorrect change to the registry may render your computer inoperable. Entries in the registry can be easily modified or deleted by viruses and malware. This causes the BSOD on computers and DPC latency. High DPC latency may cause jerky mouse movement, poor audio quality, and slow video playback. Here is a list on the effects of a tpcip.sys error in your computer: Blue Screen of Death (BSOD). High DPC latency. Sudden Windows crashing Error Messages Here are the three of the commonly displayed error messages when this file gets corrupted: Stop "0X000000d1 Tcpip" "driver_irql_not_less_or_equal" "File:\windows\system32\drivers\tcpip.sys Error code: 0xc0000221" Repairing the Errors It is essential that you correct this error right away to prevent further damage to your computer. Note that this file interacts with several drivers to keep the system functioning. Here are some of the ways fix it: 1. Correcting through the Device Manager. Open the Run command. In the box, type in "devmgmt.msc" without quotation marks. Click OK. The Device Manager box will now open. Go to the "View" tab and click on "Show hidden devices." The box will refresh. Look for "Non-Plug and Play Drivers" and click on the arrow before it to show the drivers under it. Now look for the following drivers: i. "KMXCV" ii. "KMXCFG" iii. "KMXFW" Check on the properties for each of the three drivers. Just right click on it. A dialogue box will open. Go to the Driver tab. You will see that the default option for Startup is Boot. Change it to Demand. Once all of these are done, restart your computer for the changes to take effect. 2. Use ScanNow Command. This command will scan system files and will correct any existing corrupted ones. To do this, Click on Start. Type in CMD. Right click on the command prompt list and Run as administrator. Type "sfc /scannow". Running this command may take some time. You need to be patient and do not close it until it is done. 3. Use System Restore. System Restore is very useful when you want to bring your computer back to a time when it doesn't have the errors yet. You need to select a restore point before you are getting the tpcip error. To do this: Click on Start. Type in "System Restore" without the quotation marks. Follow on-screen instructions. 6. Check for Minidump Logs. It is a Microsoft Windows SQM client DLL file and is not considered a threat to your computer. Rather, it is a critical system file needed for your computer to run. It must not be modified or deleted. Otherwise, it will cause system errors including the programs that use it. This file is statically related to "ADVAPI32, msvcrt, ntdll, USER32, KERNEL32 and RPCRT4" "DLLs", which means that if sqmapi.dll is loaded, so are the 6 files. If it gets missing or corrupted, they will not be loaded too. Causes The main reason that you are getting this error is a corrupted or broken registry file. The following are the common causes why it gets corrupted: Malware or Virus Infection Some of these malicious malware purposely deletes or modifies registries. When this happens, you will get errors when you run programs associated with it. It is important to make sure that your computer is malware and virus-free all the time. Hardware failure While this file just sits in your hard drive waiting to be used, it can be corrupted if the hard drive is fragmented. Thus, it would be useful to check for fragmentation. Deleted or Disabled If you have disabled this file in the system process, it will cause issues to other programs that are associated with it. It will either give you an error or it will not run at all. Incompatible Version It could be that when you upgraded your Windows, the current sqmapi.dll loaded is not the correct version. Incorrect Path If you have upgraded your Windows to a higher version, there's a chance that it was copied to a wrong path. The correct path is "C:\Windows\System32\sqmapi.dll". Common Error Messages The following are the common errors for this file: "Sqmapi.dll Not Found" "Bad Image sqmapi.dll" "Cannot find sqmapi.dll" When opening an application, an error will be displayed informing that sqmapi.dll is missing and will ask you to reinstall the program. Repairing the Errors While this dll is categorized as low in the system process, it is important that you fix your computer with an sqmapi.dll error to avoid further issues. Here are some ways to fix it: Upgrade Windows Operating System It is important to upgrade your operating system, notably Windows 7 SP 1, to a higher version, so that sqmap.dll will not have difficulty looking for the file. Click Start. Search for "Windows Updates". Select Install Now and wait until the upgrade has been completed. Restart computer. Reinstall program If the program associated with this file cannot be loaded, it might be useful to install a new copy of the program. You need to uninstall the program that has the issue and then reinstall it. This is much better than downloading an external dll, especially if you are not familiar with regards to the right version for your computer. Perform a SFC scan Systems File Checker is the most reliable way to correct errors like this. To do this, Reboot your computer in Safe Mode. Pull up the Run command and type in CMD. In the command prompt, type in "sfc / scannow" without quotation marks and hit enter. It could take time to check all the system files in your computer. Wait for the process to complete. You may need to restart your computer for the changes to take effect. Restore the file from the Recycle Bin It could be that you have mistakenly deleted it from the folder. Check your Recycle Bin, look for sgmapi.dll, and click Restore. To verify if the file has been restored, it must be within this path: "c:\windows\system32\drivers". You may need to restart your computer after. Rollback a Recently Updated Driver If you have recently updated a driver in your computer, and have caused issues thereafter, you need to rollback or uninstall the driver update to go back to the working old version. Test your computer's memory It is also important to manually check your computer's memory and hard drive to see if this dll file is causing you any errors. You might need a professional help in doing this by looking into the computer's physical RAM and/or the hard drive and test for issues or if it needs replacements. Download the file externally. The easiest way to fix a file issue is to get a new copy of it. Make sure you download it from a reliable source though. You could also use DLL file repair tools to resolve the issue automatically. *********************** ARTICLE END *********************** - To distribute your articles go to http://www.isnare.com/distribution.php - For more free-reprint articles go to http://www.isnare.com |

The key to this question really lies in developing a firm understanding of the fundamentals of marketing. I remember a eureka moment in business school where we spent hours unpicking the Chartered Institute of Marketing's definition of marketing: Marketing is the management process responsible for identifying, anticipating and satisfying customer requirements profitably. — CIM definition It dawned on me that marketing is not simply an ancillary business function, it is the business. Understanding the cogs that make the business turn, that generate revenue, attract and retain customers really is what marketing is all about. The internet simply adds more options into the mix, but the underlying principles remain the same. If you understand what makes your business tick you already have a better understanding of marketing than you may think. My father was an entrepreneur who didn't have the privilege of studying business under published professors but nevertheless had a key understanding of the business he hand built, a natural understanding of the cogs that kept the business moving forward, an eye for a deal, wheeling and dealing 'Del-Boy' style successfully for years. Where many small business owners fall down is they understand their business well enough, but fail to account for changing environmental factors and then adapt their business accordingly. Spotting the need for change is half the battle and whilst most entrepreneurs recognise the internet is a force to be reckoned with, they fail to embrace the truly transformational opportunities that could help to secure the future of their business for years to come. But talk is cheap and too many soothsayers prophesy about "the end of consumerism as we know it" as the internet ushers in a new era in all aspects of buyer behaviour. In my experience, this new era is simply constantly changing environmental factors that need first to be understood and then utilised in the right measure for your business within your marketing mix. As an example, before the internet small service businesses would rely heavily on directory listings in printed media such as the Yellow Pages to be found locally by their customers. You need a plumber so you grab the handy 3kg yellow book and turn to P for Plumbers. These days, Google My Business has virtually replaced these doorstop directories that once adorned the telephone stand of most homes, as we all turn to our smartphones or laptops to "Google it" instead. This is where adapting to the changing environment really comes in, by optimising your company's Google My Business listing it can appear when customers in your area search for the services you offer, simple. So the key to understanding internet marketing really lies in first understanding marketing, these vital cogs that make your business tick, then utilising the various methods available in a mix that is right for your business. As every business is unique there is no 'one size fits all'; you must understand and utilise the right mix of ingredients for your business, whether it is all or a combination of the online marketing tools available. In fact that's not a bad analogy, think of online marketing as a series of tools you need to get a job done (achieve your business goals). Assess the job in hand and use the right tools to get the job done, that's marketing strategy, simple! *********************** ARTICLE END *********************** - To distribute your articles go to http://www.isnare.com/distribution.php - For more free-reprint articles go to http://www.isnare.com |

Advisors will say "you need a business plan", bank managers will insist on one before approving that vital loan you need to fund your expansion. Whether or not you codify what you want for your business, you should have an understanding of what strategic management is all about so you can drive your business forward, ensuring you can achieve/maintain sustainable competitive advantage. Strategic management in business boils down to 3 simple questions: 1. Where are we now? 2. Where do we want to be? 3. How are we going to get there? Where are we now? The first question looks at the situation the business is in, this situational analysis can take many forms but as a general guide think about doing SWOT and PEST analyses of your current position. Don't be frightened by these acronyms, they are really easy to grasp and can provide surprising insights into your business and develop your thinking. You could brainstrom these with other members of your team, or your family/friends if you are a lone wolf. SWOT stands for Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats. Strengths and weaknesses are internal aspects of your business: What are you good at? What makes you better than your competitors? What don't you do so well? Where could you improve? Opportunities and threats are generally external, so what opportunities are there in the marketplace? Threats could be from new competitors entering your market. Next, it is vital that you look to the wider external environment, there are many acronyms for this type of analysis (STEP, PEST, STEEPLE, STEEPLED to name a few) but they all amount to pretty much the same thing: Political/Legal, Economic, Social and Technological factors. I won't go into great detail about these as they are self explanatory, for example, the advent of the internet (Technological) has and continues to impact massively on how businesses operate. Analysis of the wider environment can help you to spot opportunities for growth or highlight the need for change. Where do we want to be? So you've analysed where you are now, the process in itself will usually throw up some interesting suggestions, next you need to think about where you would like to be. The answer to this question forms the basis of your strategic business objectives, they can be wide ranging and don't necessarily just have to be turnover focused. In a large organisation there will be corporate objectives that underpin the overall direction of the business, these then cascade down throughout the different departments who will each have there own set of objectives, ensuring a coordinated and synchronous approach to getting the business where it wants to be. In a small business you may just have a handful of goals but try to think outside the box here, as the saying goes, "turnover is vanity, profit is sanity, cash is reality". Don't chase turnover increases just for the sake of it, your underlying profitability is what really matters, and your objectives need to be realistic and achievable (more about that next). When setting your objectives it is not enough to simply state: 'To increase sales' or some other vague statement, your objectives need to be SMART, another acronym, sorry, but a useful one nonetheless. Check that your objectives meet this criteria, they should be: Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant and Time-related. An example of the above vague objective made SMART could be: 'To increase sales by 10% within the next 6 months'. These SMART objectives ensure you can measure the effectiveness of your strategy and tactics. How do we get there? You now know where you are now and where you want your business to be, but how are you going to get there? How will you achieve your objectives? This is where strategy and tactics come in, your strategy is the broad overall plan, whilst the tactics are the nuts and bolts of what you will actually do to achieve your objectives. So there you have it, ask yourself: Where are we now? Where do we want to be? How do we get there? These questions are the fundamentals of strategic management. Finally, don't forget the feedforward loop too, this is the whole point of creating SMART objectives so you can measure if they have been achieved. Once you have carried out your plan you need to check how effective your chosen strategy and tactics have been by asking: Have we arrived? Have we achieved our objectives? If not why not? These answers then feedforward into your next cycle of planning and the process starts over again, rinse and repeat... *********************** ARTICLE END *********************** - To distribute your articles go to http://www.isnare.com/distribution.php - For more free-reprint articles go to http://www.isnare.com |

Posing as usual computer programs and processes, it is hard to know which ones are legit and which are doing silent damage. Some are even in disguise, with names that make them look like they are core processes, further bringing in confusion to regular computer users. It's a big sigh of relief when anti-virus and anti-malware programs find and obliterate these harmful programs. But when these digital guardians are seemingly outsmarted (ie computer is still slow, apps are crashing), it's high time to manually find them. A good starting point is in the task manager, where all the running programs, processes and services can be seen. Some processes are pretty straightforward. But others, basing on their names, do not exactly give that much of a hint; one such process is dwm.exe. A lot of users would agree that the use of mere initials as a name of an executable file is quite suspicious; however, that is not always the case. So what exactly is dwm.exe? The Desktop Window Manager "DWM" stands for desktop window manager, which is a composting program. It was introduced way back in Windows Vista. This process is responsible for providing real-time thumbnail previews of each open window. It also makes use of graphics acceleration to smooth out transitions and screen effects. Whenever we use "ALT + TAB" or "Windows Key + TAB", this process is responsible for collecting the program buffer of whatever is open. A dwm.exe crash brought by a problem due to lack of resources is highly unlikely on normal cases because the process only uses up around 10-50 MB of memory. Especially on newer computers, its presence won't even be felt. Nonetheless, an impaired windows 7 or windows 8 experience is still possible because of DWM errors. Also, an application error or crash involving this process might lead to bigger dilemmas if not mitigated earlier. Is DWM hogging your computer's memory? If you notice that this process has unusually high memory usage despite the fact that only a few programs are running, this might be because of the following: Heavy application use - An application might be the cause of dwm.exe high cpu usage. Some email clients, video editing, games, and graphics software are the likely culprits Corrupted software – Some software might need an upgrade or a re-install to speed up the computer system. Also, please verify if the correct video card driver is installed Hardware – The graphics card might be having a hard time communicating with Windows, thus, resulting in the unusuallu high resource usage DWM encounters an application error Usually encountered after logging in to the computer, a dwm.exe bad image error appears. During these times, the following can be done: Go to Start > Control Panel > Windows Update Locate the following update: "KB2670838" Verify if this update failed installation If yes, uninstall and re-install the update Restart your PC Consider using Windows Basic Theme If dwm is the likely culprit to the computer's slow down, turning off some animations might have some performance improvement. Go to Start > Control Panel > Personalization Choose Windows Basic as the theme Note: DWM is still running even if the switch has been made to Windows Basic theme. But since transitions and effects are turned off, it will have a positive impact, performance-wise. Stopping DWM There are ways to stop this process from running, both temporarily and permanently. While this is not always necessary, but if one decides toward it, here are the steps: Open services.msc Locate the following service: Desktop Window Manager Session Manager To temporarily stop the service, click on it and click on Stop. The service will start on the next login. To disable, double click Desktop Window Manager Session Manager. Change the Startup Type to Disabled. Click OK. Beyond DWM After you try to stop DWM and there are still persistent issues in terms of user interface and system performance, maybe it's time that other measures are applied. A free pc optimizer just might do wonders. Don't worry because the user will still have control. Issues will be presented and the user will still determine what course of action will be taken, and all the dirty work would be taken care of by the tool. The bottom-line This program is meant to improve your experience. It is those pesky viruses and malwares that corrupt and put strain on the user's visual experience. If it becomes problematic along the way, the fixes above might help in easing things up. About The Author: If you are an average computer user, try downloading a free registry cleaner via http://www.maxutilities.net/en-us/index.html. All the guesswork will be taken away as the tool will automatically figure out where the bottlenecks are and ultimately resolve DWM issues. It's no wonder that a popular social media site gets 350 millions of photos through uploads each day among their 1.15 billion users. Windows users in particular are well acquainted in utilizing the Windows Photo Gallery or Photo Viewer (depending on the version of your operating system). Once photos find their way to your computer, these applications would let you work magic to some of the uploaded photos. You have probably tried rotating, resizing, flipping and cropping images to your liking. You can also specify how you would want to print your selected photo. You are also given the option to email photos. If you are sending out photos to friends, you can burn it in a cd using those applications. Collecting and selecting photos are made much easier as well. Indeed, there are a ton of things you can do with, and Photoviewer.dll is what enables the programs to run smoothly. What is "Photoviewer DLL"? It is an essential system file in running Windows Gallery. Basically, it enables photos to be opened in the Gallery just by clicking on their respective files. Whenever you click on an image file (for example, IMG1001.jpg), one of the "Photoviewer.dll" command line options run such as the following: "rundll32 "C:\ProgramFiles\Windows Photo Viewer\PhotoViewer.dll", ImageView_Fullscreen IMG1001.jpg" Parameters will be running in the backend and the end result is when the photo is displayed. Are you having a DLL issue? It will be a real bummer if you encounter issues wherein you cannot see your photographs or make the necessary modifications before showing them to the world. When your photo viewer programs malfunction, you often encounter any of the following error messages: "missing" or "could not be found" "not a valid win32 application" So what messes up this dll file? Corrupted or infected image files that access the DLL file are some of the primary causes. If you downloaded an image from the Internet, for instance, and it came with a virus, that might mess up your computer's registry. A failed installation or upgrade of Windows Photo Gallery could also cause errors with the DLL file. This usually happens when a user upgrades from Windows Vista to Windows 7. In fact, one of the most common windows 7 photo viewer errors is brought by missing or deleted DLL files from the "C:\Program Files\Windows" Photo Viewer directory Just like with other DLL errors, accidental deletion or replacement is also a major cause. There are also some viruses that delete these files as their way of destroying your system. So how do you fix the issues? A lot of online references, forums, or technical advice sites often recommend grabbing a copy of Photoviewer.dll online. However, this is quite risky as dlls in general, similar to executables file, may contain malicious or extremely harmful data and codes. For instance, a file you download from the internet can have manipulative code that can delete photos even if a crop or resize command is executed. An infected file can also be used by hackers to access not only your prized photos, but also other sensitive information in your computer. It can also be used to invade your privacy as some photo files contain location and time stamps. While anti-virus programs might be able to do something with the corrupted file, it might not be able to totally fix the problem. Once the registry keys are altered, these are out of reach for most anti-virus programs. The ultimate last resort is reinstalling your Windows OS from scratch. But bear in mind that this is a laborious and time-consuming effort. You'll be required to backup all your files (not just your photos, but ALL your other files). And if an infected file manages to get into your backup, you will most likely bring the virus to your freshly-installed system. One of your best courses of action when it comes to corrupted dll files is by acquiring a dll repair tool. This tool specializes in restoring missing files, as well as fixing altered registry values to their correct state. This file is included in a Windows system and it contains NT Kernel functions. A lot of people that experience a crash brought by ntdll.dll errors think that this file might be a virus or a spyware, but it isn't. However, it can be corrupted by a "trojan" or a virus just like any other computer file. Usual Causes of "Ntdll.dll" Errors There are varying reasons but usually, the error is the product of a damaged registry, a Malware infection, or a damaged version of the file itself. Problems between Windows and other programs also give rise to an error in this file. Some users encounter access violation errors during computer start up. This type of error usually occurs after a program or hardware is installed on the computer. Sometimes, a Ntdll.dll-triggered crash occurs when trying to run old software, such as programs or games. You can track down an error using Windows Process Explorer. The most common error that can be found when this program is used has the "rtl validate heap" code with it. This error can eat your CPU cycles and slow down your PC. Can This File Be Deleted? This file can't be deleted because it is a Dynamic Link Library ("DLL") file. It is required by Windows and eliminating this file may result to more errors. This file is used to deliver commands and subroutines on how to operate a task in Microsoft Windows, Windows software, and drivers. A missing DLL file mostly results to more computer errors or bad instructions that generate an error. These can only be fixed if the program is updated or re-installed. It is best to just leave this file be or let an anti-virus program handle the infections. Some DLL files are shared between different programs and deleting one file might cause one or more programs to malfunction. If you have already deleted the files, then you can download a dll file from the Internet for free or reinstall your operating system. Some users also encounter an error with this file when they're using an Internet browser. This issue can be resolved by eliminating the add-ons on the browser as well as basic troubleshooting guidelines. How To Fix Ntdll.dll Errors These simple guidelines will show you how to resolve faulty modules and other related errors. Some errors may just be temporary and may be fixed by a reboot. Try restarting your computer and observe if you will still encounter errors. Try re-installing the program when you notice that the error pop-ups only when you use a specific program. The software program may also require updates or additional files so install the service pack if available. If the error appears every time you start or while you're using a browser, try removing the add-ons on the browser one by one and see which add-on triggers the problem. If the error still appears after you disabled the add-ons, try using a different browser. Deactivate the Data Execution Prevention (DEP) for Explorer.exe. A DEP is an important feature for Windows XP that consists of at least service pack level 2. The DEP can be the cause of system issues because not all hardware and software support it. Errors occur when explorer.exe cannot function properly with the DEP. If you're still encountering problems even after disabling the DEP, return settings back to the original. A permanent solution that you can do to stop errors is to disable the User Account Control (UAC) on your computer. UAC alerts the user when changes are going to be made on your pc. It helps in preventing unauthorized deviations in the computer. If you're not used with tweaking UAC settings, you may disable this permanently. Outdated drivers sometimes result to errors so update the drivers for the hardware in your computer. If you're constantly receiving DLL error messages, then check your memory for damages. Testing the memory will identify the issue or at least, make sure that your RAM is not the cause. If you tried reinstalling the individual software and the errors are still there, consider repairing the installation of Windows. This might be a quick fix. If you've tried all of the repair tips above and still encounter errors, consider doing a clean installation that will remove Windows from your computer totally. This means you will have to install Windows in your PC again from scratch. Try this solution only if none of the guidelines above worked and if you're certain that the error isn't cause by certain software or programs. "SYS" files are critical system files and third-party device drivers. These files are responsible for connecting internal PC hardware or attached hardware to the third-party software programs such as web browsers. A "Vsmraid.sys" error is usually the result of a corrupt device driver file or some faulty hardware. A corruption or damage to the SYS files can generate critical system errors and hamper the functionality of Windows. Sometimes, the errors could even result to a blue screen of death ("BSOD"). Also known as the STOP error, the BSOD is displayed on the screen when a fatal system error occurs and the OS has to stop completely. An error in the SYS files occurs during computer start-up, program start-up, or when performing a specific task in your program. Vsmraid.sys error messages are common in Windows 8, 7, Vista, XP, ME, and 2000. The errors often appear after you install new software or hardware. Sometimes, they would occur when the newly installed software program is running or when a driver is being loaded. Whenever a STOP error occurs, it's important to note where and when it occurred so that you would be able to troubleshoot the problem easier and more efficiently. What are the causes of Vsmraid.sys Errors? They can be caused by device drivers that are corrupted, outdated, or improperly configured. Corruption or malware infection that damages the system file or other related Windows 7 program files could also be the cause. Damaged hard disks could also result to a BSOD. A corrupted RAM could result to STOP errors as well There could be hardware issues that occur after the installation of new hardware related to the system file. System files that are removed or damaged after the installation of software programs or drivers related to Windows 7 could also be the culprit. How to Fix an SYS Error Some issues can be resolved simply by downloading or re-installing an SYS file. It is better to get these files directly from Microsoft instead of the usual web downloads, if they're available. Listed below are some guidelines that can help you troubleshooting when errors in the SYS files arise. Most BSOD errors are the result of corrupted or outdated device drivers so it's best if you can try updating your computer's device drivers. It's hard to find device drivers that are compatible with vsmraid.sys but there are some tools online that help make the process faster and easier. You can also download drivers but you have to carefully assess the ones that can be trusted. Issues related to the Windows registry may also result to system errors. Keep the registry optimized and repair the entries because they might be corrupted with malware. The malware infection will result to a STOP error putting your pc at risk. Try a free registry cleaner online that can help repair the cause of the problem. Unless you are a computer technician, don't even attempt manually configuring the Windows registry. A single punctuation that is incorrectly placed when editing can stop the computer from booting completely. Consider leaving your PC to the hands of the experts to avoid further and irreparable damage. Apply Windows System Restore to your PC because it allows your computer's system files and programs go back to its fine condition. This will help you save time. Uninstall software if the BSOD error came from a specific program, or do a clean install of the program is necessary. Utilize the System File Checker as it scans and repairs corruptions in the Windows system files. It will automatically replace the damaged files when it finds a problem with the system files. Update your Windows system files regularly because there are times when the cause of the BSOD errors is simply an outdated Windows. Install all the service packs and other patches that Microsoft provides. Some BSOD errors are the result of hard drive corruption especially if your computer is constantly in use, always being shut down improperly, and other issues. Vsmraid.sys-related BSODs can be identified if you check a hard drive corruption. Microsoft's latest tool called "Check Disk" scans and repairs hard disk corruptions. Run the Check Disk utility if the previous troubleshooting methods didn't work. Perform a Clean Installation of Windows. Those are just some of the steps you can try to fix vsmraid.sys errors. You can also use flashing tools to automatically get updates for several apps and drivers. About The Author: Flashing tools and registry optimizers could work wonders for your PC, but you have to be careful when installing a free registry cleaner. The best thing to do when problems related to an msdt.exe occurs is to know what it is and to identify the root of the problem. It is an executable file developed by Microsoft that is used by many applications. This file is used in the systems of Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows XP and Windows Vista. It plays an important role as it works for the installer, browsers, and for logging-in. "EXE" files carry instructions that a computer follows to perform a task. A computer will automatically follow these instructions when you double click the file to run a software program. A missing msdt.exe file can prevent your computer from following instructions and keep it from functioning properly. These files can damage your computer settings critically; that's why you should only run exe files from publishers that are reliable. Some msdt.exe downloads from the web are actually malware in disguise. There are also authentic files but they might carry a lot of files that virus, "Trojan", and other spyware that can destroy your computer. Causes of "Msdt.exe" Errors There are several events that could trigger an application error. Here are some of the more common causes. When the disk space is low, an error could occur. Infections coming from a malware could also cause exe file errors. The msdt.exe file you downloaded from an unauthorized publisher may have been infected. The registry, password list, and allocation list could be corrupted. Outdated drivers that are not installed with the latest service packs could also cause errors. There are, however, some cases where special utility tools would be needed in order to pinpoint the cause. How to Fix the Errors Some errors are related to the Windows registry. There are some applications that share the same EXE file but when these applications are disabled, the other EXE registry entries are on their own. The errors can occur when Windows tries to locate the file references that are left behind by the uninstalled or changed applications. In these cases, you can fix the registry entries that are related to Windows Vista with the Service Pack 1 to identify the cause of the problem. You can also repair the registry problems using a reliable registry cleaner. Perform a full malware scan on your computer to identify malicious intruders that can corrupt or eliminate an EXE-related file. Remove system junk files on your computer by performing a clean-up. A hard drive full of files from constant computer and web use generates errors such as 'corrupt disk errors' because of file conflicts. A disk clean-up isn't the best solution for an error but it can boost the performance of your computer. You can do this manually or you can acquire a free disk cleaner online that can help remove junk files and speed up your pc temporarily. Make it a habit to constantly update your computer's device drivers because outdated device drivers result to errors. If you do not want to ask an expert for help when looking for a driver that is compatible to your hardware, you can use a driver update tool. Apply Windows System Restore to bring your computer back to the time when it was working in good condition. This also helps in fixing the issues by returning the system files and programs to their original settings. If the issue is related to a certain program, try uninstalling and reinstalling it. When reinstalling, follow the guidelines indicated in the Microsoft database instructions. Utilize the Windows System File Checker because it allows you to scan and repair the corruptions in the system files. This instantly makes the necessary modifications and fixes the critical system files. Update your Windows by installing all the available updates and recent Service Packs that are related to the file. The last option is to perform a clean installation of Windows. A clean installation removes everything in your hard drive. Repairing the error will also prevent slow browser performance, system freezes, BSODs, shut down problems, failure in running games in certain browsers, virus attacks, and system component damage. Trying to fix the error by yourself might make things worse so it might be better to leave the matters to the hands of computer experts, or use a tool designed to automatically determine the problem and make the necessary repairs. About The Author: It is important to fix an msdt.exe error immediately to avoid making things worse. Get a registry cleaner and look for downloadable files from trusted sources such as http://www.maxutilities.net/en-us/index.html Please use the HTML version of this article at: http://www.isnare.com/html.php?aid=1910170 *********************** ARTICLE END *********************** - To distribute your articles go to http://www.isnare.com/distribution.php - For more free-reprint articles go to http://www.isnare.com |
