There are many key elements that make up a healthy body, but for simplicity's sake, let's zero in on our biggest concern – weight loss. We are so preoccupied with looking good, we overlook what is truly essential - FEELING good. Your body is a miraculous machine that has the ability to work at its optimum potential, if we know how to maintain it properly.

I am embarrassed to say, but until very recently, I held on to the belief that it was your fault if you weren't healthy. As my eyes and heart opened up a to the truth, I became more and more aware how advertising and advertisers tell us every day about their so-called "beneficial and/or healthy" products, when in fact they are anything but that! We live in a world where Pop Tarts and low-fat Hot Pockets are being advertised as a healthy or nutritious choice, and we believe them! We take their word for it! Three documentaries that come to mind as MUST-SEES are, "Fed Up", "Supersize Me", and "GMO OMG!"

Let's shine the light on the most common ideology we fall victim to over and over and over. . .

Common Ideology = Lose Weight And You Will Get Healthy (nope)

REALITY = Get Healthy And You Will Lose Weight,

plus a lot of other mucky-muck. . .but that is a different article ☺

You don't have to take my word for it. Go to the mall or the grocery store and look around. We are not healthy. Why is that? Why do we blindly fall prey to the newest fad diet? Why do we continue to believe that cutting calories is the answer, when the end result is always the same – we gain it all (the weight) back plus some extra pounds too! Why? Why do we keep doing it? It doesn't work. Period. And here's the why. . .

We plateau during traditional weight loss and fad diets, often experiencing a yo-yo effect (lose weight. . .gain it back. . .lose weight. . .gain it back) because. . .WE DON'T GET RID OF THE TOXINS! Here's a little secret: FAT CELLS SHRINK WHEN TOXINS ARE ELIMINATED!

So what are toxins anyway? Well, toxins are anything that you put IN your body (food, beverages, drugs, etc.) or ON your body (skin care, lotions, hair care, etc.) that your body can't use as energy or "fuel". Since the body does not know what to do with the toxin, it stores it in your body's "white" fat cells. There are two types of fat cells which have distinctive functions. Brown fat cells are specialized heat producers, while white fat cells store and release fats.

"The food you eat can either be the safest and most powerful form of medicine or the slowest form of poison."

You can't detox your body overnight or with a magic pill, but you will be pleasantly surprised how quickly your body responds to a good detox program, which includes a clean eating diet. It takes about 21-28 days to make or break a habit. Detoxing is no different. Detox for the duration it takes to establish your newfound healthiness as a habit. What would be the purpose of detoxing if you quickly went back to all of your old eating habits and harmful addictions? A good detox program will have the ability to teach you the "why" of it all so you have the power and knowledge to make better choices. It will also give you the time your body needs to free itself from harmful addictions, and acclimate to its new state of optimum potential!

Product: Site Build It

Website URL: http://buildit.sitesell.com/

Price: $29.99 per month or $299 per year

Owner: Ken Evoy

Overall Ranking: 30/100

Site Build It – What Is It All About?

This is a service that has been designed in order to make the whole process of building a successful online passive business much simpler because most of the hard work involved in creating such has already been done. Items such as building a website, learning how to attract visitors to your site and then monetising it are all things that are handled through the Site Build It (SBI) system as you are provided with all the necessary tools and training. This may sound great but there are certain flaws to be considered with this system.

Pros vs Cons Of Site Build It

Pros:

SBI does provide you with a lot of valuable training and tools that for those just setting up an online business will find helpful

The price charged is pretty reasonable especially in relation to the services provided

You are provided with access to the SBI forum so you can talk and consult with other like minded souls

Cons:

You will find that some of the training provided is outdated

Some of the sites created through SBI aren't actually being listed by Google

With SBI they still prefer to use HTML format approaches when it comes to building websites which is very much old school now

You will find that when it comes to wanting to move your site from SBI's platform to another web building tool such as WordPress or hosting service it proves very difficult

Who Has Site Build It Been Designed For?

As already mentioned above SBI has in fact been developed with those who are completely new to the world of building an online business. However with this product rather than teaching someone how to build a successful online business the owner (Ken Evoy) decided to actually create a service that would do all the work for them, so making sure that as much of the processes involved were as automated as possible.

What Tools & Training Are Provided?

As you may have guessed by now it isn't really about the training when it comes to SBI it is more about the tools provided. The tools that you get when you do decide to sign up to this service are as follows:

Tool 1 – Website Building

You are provided with a number of templates that allow you to create the ideal website for your online business. With this tool you are able to build a website without actually needing to know about HTML or programming, all that you need to do is create content for your site. This may be something that you already know about.

Plus as part of this tool you are provide with a complete graphics tool that allows you to modify the graphics to make it look more customised. As you make one change to a graphic on the site all other pages where this graphic appears on your site change as well. Saving quite a bit of time.

Tool 2 – Marketing Tool

One of the most important tools you get with this service is its Keyword Research one ensuring that you are able to find keywords in your niche that are profitable. Not only will novice website designers find this tool useful but so will more experienced ones.

Also as part of the marketing tool you are provided with an electronic newsletter publishing system. This means that not only are visitors able to join your mailing list but ensures that you are able to keep in contact with them on a regular basis.

Tool 3 – Traffic Building

Once the site has been set up then Site Build It submits it to major search engines such as Google and Yahoo. It will then report back how your site is ranking and if it isn't ranking that well it analyses the pages of your site and offers up suggestions on how to improve this situation.

What Kind Of Support Can You Expect?

You not only have access to SBI's private forum where you can discuss matters relating to building an online business, but also you are provided with unlimited customer support. Plus each week a newsletter is released that helps to keep up to date with all things concerning setting up an online business.

So How Much Does All This Cost?

As mentioned above the price to become part of SBI is either $29.99 a month or $299 a year. The issue of course is that you could actually build your own sites without having any knowledge of HTML or coding because of programs like WordPress. All of which can be built at a fraction of the cost.

The thing is if you really want to see your site rank well in search engines such as Google and Yahoo then you need to make sure that you post plenty of good quality original content to your site. Once you do don't expect to start earning an income straight away it could take a matter of days, weeks or even months before you really start to see the results you desire.

In Conclusion

I will have to say that I cannot say that this product is a scam, as Site Build It can provide those who have never attempted to build a website before with some very useful tools. However what I find somewhat off putting is the price being charged for doing so.

As already mentioned above there are numerous products available today that will allow you to build your own websites and all of which can be done for a fraction of the cost that Ken Evoy likes to charge for his.

You may well want to consider trying this product out because they do offer a 30 day money back guarantee. But I am pretty sure that within a few days you will be asking for your money back.

I hope the above Site Build It review will help you to make a right decision, and hopefully you will be able to find a great product or program that is able to help you to build a successful passive online business without any struggles .

Setting up your own business is no longer something that you can just dream about. With the development of the Internet it has now created numerous opportunities that will allow you to earn an income online whilst still working in your current job.

I have now been running my own passive online business for few years now and still would not consider myself to be an experienced entrepreneur. Yes I have had my ups and downs over this time and it has helped me to learn a lot when it comes to running successful online businesses today. For those of you considering setting up an online business then why not check out my tips below.

Tip 1 – You Need To Go Digital

The great thing about starting an online business is that you don't need any money to do so. There are numerous places online where it is possible create a professional looking website for your business easily and won't cost you anything to do so. Then with one click of a button you have access to a much larger audience. As a result the returns you see on your business will be much greater and it is possible to sell products without actually having to keep a running inventory of the items you are selling.

In order to get your business up and running all you need is a computer or laptop and a good internet connection. The great thing about running such a business is that you choose any niche you want to work in plus you can work whenever or wherever you want.

Tip 2 – Know Your Niche

One downside of running an online business is that you are likely to have plenty of other people who are competing for the same clients as you. In order to stand out from the others you need to look for a niche that is new or is being underserved at this time then make this the main focus of your new online business.

You will find it so much easier to get your business up and running if you go in to a niche that it will thrive in. However finding such niches won't prove that hard, but you will need to sit down and think about what you like and what is trending at the time. Also you should spend some time conducting some research in order to find out what particular subjects people are interested in and which as yet not many online businesses are catering to.

If however you aren't actually able to find a niche that matches your particular skill sets or interests then why not try and take one that is currently available and make it something unique.

Tip 3 – Networking Is Vital

Social media has now made the process of networking with others much simpler. Through the use of sites like Twitter and Facebook you have the opportunity to be able to reach a much wider audience and therefore a much wider group of potential clients for your business. All of which can be done from the comfort of your own home.

Rather than dismissing social media as just a bit of fun you should now make it an integral part of your business. The size of your fan base will often correlate with how much income you are able to generate.

In order for your social network platforms to grow you need to find people who have the same interests as you and then begin to interact with them. It is important as with your website that you provide them with something that they see as being of value. If you take a genuine interest in those who choose to start following you then they will do the same to you.

Tip 4 – Make Marketing A Mindset

What's the point of building a website if you aren't then willing to use it. You need to be willing to get out there when it comes to marketing and promoting yourself. This means doing everything that is possible to make sure that you get your content and your products in front of as many people as you possibly can.

If you need to spend time submitting and sharing your content to a variety of different websites or forums. But don't forget when doing this to make sure that you include a link that directs those who see the content back to your own website.

Spending time on creating a plan is vital and once you have designed on using a particular marketing campaign make sure that you track how it is doing. If the need arises then tweak the campaign to ensure that you are reaching those you are targeting the best.

Tip 5 – Be Ready To Diversify

As soon as you have got your first online business established and it is starting to provide you with a regular income then you need to think about how to expand on it. Relying on just one source to provide you with an income can prove very dangerous. Should this income stream suddenly dry up then of course you've lost your job and you are going to have to start all over again.

If you want to see your online business thrive then you need to be diversifying whenever possible.

But be prepared as often when you do decide to pursue a new source of income this will mean you won't be able to dedicate so much time to the business you have already established. Be aware that diversifying does come at the expense of you earning a guaranteed income. Yet having said this it is vital that you do spend time on building other income streams. Often once a business is established and has developed a good audience base they will find that the action to then diversify into other sectors is much easier.

Hopefully if you remember what we have discussed above then of course you will find that setting up and running a successful online business will prove much easier than you first thought.

There is no guarantee that when you decide to start an online business that it is going to prove successful.

However if you work hard and make sure that you are providing your customers with what they need then of course the chances of this happening are much greater.

What you end up achieving is of course a direct result of the effort you have put into the business initially.

If you want to create a successful and passive online business. then you need to keep the following points in mind.

Point 1 – Do Something You Love

In order to do something you love you first need to know what it is you really want to do. So you need to spend time sitting down in order to understand what kind of work will help to get those creative juices flowing. Therefore why not build your business around something you are interested in already. For example if you are interested in a particular breed of dog or a particular type of vehicle why not build your business around that.

Point 2 – Make Sure You Treat Your Business Like A Business

Often most people who decide to set up an online business do so because they see it as a quick way to earn a little extra cash. However if you are looking for a business that will eventually make you financially independent then you need to treat it with the respect it is due. The best way of doing this is to carry out the following:

Set up a space at home specifically to use as your office. If you have a room spare then convert this into your office.

Invest in some good equipment especially a good quality computer, a good internet connection, set up a separate phone line and also invest in a good quality printer/scanner/fax machine. Plus whatever other equipment you may need to help you run your business more effectively.

Spend time developing a marketing plan and if you need to purchase the relevant materials that will then allow you to market your business to others.

Make sure that you spend time on publicising your business to a much wider audience of potential clients.

You need to invest the time on building a strong customer base as this will help you to then develop plans for your businesses future growth.

Point 3 – Become An Expert

You will find that people respect you more when they realise that you know more about your chosen niche than they do. It makes good sense to these people to turn someone who has more experience and of course these people are much more willing to invest money in such a business because they trust it more.

Point 4 – Charge What You Feel You Are Worth

The biggest mistake some people make is to charge people less than what they feel they are worth. Why would they do this? Some do it because they don't realise their true value and others do it because they think this is going to bring in more business for them. However if someone doesn't get paid what they are actually worth they are really placing their business at risk.

If you are unsure what you should be charging your clientele then take a look and see what others who are in the same niche as you are charging currently. Then once you have these figures you are in a position to be able to develop a pricing structure that is going to ensure that your own personal goals are being met. Whilst of course helping to give you an edge over your competitors. However don't price yourself too low or high as both could end up with potential clientele being prevented from buying from you because they don't trust you.

Point 5 – Manage Cash Flow

Without cash you won't be able to bring in new products or to provide new services that are going to help your clientele to solve an issue they may have. It is enough for you to simply watch the money coming in you need to watch carefully where the money goes in order to manage your business effectively.

You need to spend time sitting down going over your finances in order to plan for the future. This means spending time going over your finances in order to project what kind of return you will see on your investment in the future after all necessary outgoings have been dealt with.

Point 6 – Build A Solid Customer Base

Building such a base will prove a lot easier said than done. The heart of your business is one that truly values those customers it has currently and those that it is trying to bring in. You need to be aware that your clientele are very savvy and will quickly be able to identify whether they are a priority to your business or not. If at any point they start to sense that you don't care about them one way or the other then of course they will take their business elsewhere.

Point 7 – Don't Be Afraid To Ask For Referrals

Probably the most effective way of being able to get your new business noticed is through asking customer to provide you with referrals. Through referrals it is clearly showing to potential new customers that you run a business that can be trusted.

The best ways in which you can earn great referrals from the clients you have already are as follows:

Do Great Work – Clients are more than happy to refer you to others if you have provided them with a good service or product.

Do Work On Time & Within Budget – For those businesses that are constantly delivering on the promises they make they will find that they have more business than they ever thought possible.

Keep Clients Informed – Whenever someone spends money with you they want to know exactly what is happening. Therefore keeping track of each order made is vital to ensure that you keep them appraised of what is happening and to deal with any problems that may arise.

Don't Forget To Thank Them – We all like to be appreciated and sending a simple email saying thank you for referring your business is important.

I hope the above tips will help you to run a successful and passive online business.

Earning a passive online business. whilst still in full time employment is a great idea to help provide a little more financial stability in your life. However don't think that for one minute you won't need to work at getting such an income because this simply isn't the case.

If you are willing to put in the time and effort then of course you will soon begin to reap the benefits. Most people today who are now living off such an income have done so because they put in not just the time but the money to help get their online business up and running.

Whether you are financially savvy or have a particular skill that you would like to share with others then you could soon find yourself earning passive income from a number of different sources. Even if you are not up for some of the challenges say maintaining a blog you will discover that there are plenty of other ways that you could earn such an income in the future.

However before you get started there are certain things that you need to remember first.

The first of these being that you won't start earning straight away it could be several weeks before you actually start to see any kind of real return on the time and money you initially invested. But for those of you who have the desire and patience to succeed then the results you seek will soon come. Whenever you are considering starting up a business in order to earn a steady stream of income keep in mind that it could be quite some time before progress really occurs.

The next thing you should remember is never to put all your eggs into one basket. If you decide to invest everything you have in one particular business and it fails then of course you are left with nothing. It is important when you are looking to set up any business that will allow you to start earning a passive income that you only invest the amount of money that you can comfortably lose should anything untoward happen.

Also it is worth considering setting up several businesses that will allow you to earn such an income at the same time. It is important to remember that not every one you set up is going to start returning a profit. Therefore if one should fail then of course you know that you have several offers that you can rely on instead.

You need to be dedicated to ensuring that your business will succeed. If you aren't willing to put in the effort from the outset then you won't see any kind of return on your business over the time you have it.

Think about what your strengths and weaknesses are so you can then decide which path you should follow when it comes to choosing the right sort of passive income for you.

Whilst it may seem like a walk in the park sometimes when it comes to earning such an income it is fraught with difficulties as well. It is important that you consider both the advantages and disadvantages of setting up any such business before jumping head first into the project.

Advantages Of Earning A Passive Income

If you succeed then there is every possibility that you could end up leaving your 9 to 5 job altogether. Imagine what you could do with all that extra cash you have. But in order to succeed you need to be dedicated to making sure that the goals set are achieved.

You could end up earning quite a lot through a number of different income streams. Whilst individually the amount you earn from them may not seem that great, when you add them all up together it could provide you with a significant return on your initial investment in relation to both time and money.

Disadvantages Of Earning A Passive Income

You never know what is going to happen, whereas with your current job you know when you go to work that there are specific tasks that need to be completed before you go home. You know that you are going to get paid and so this provides you with the financial security you need.

The issue you have with earning a passive income is that one day your site could be doing really well and the next day nothing. It is important that you are prepared for both your business to fail as well as succeed.

Even after all looking at all the above you have decided that this is a route you want to consider going down in order to earn some extra money then there are plenty of different ways in which this can be done. However you will find that some ways prove more effective than others.

Two ways in which you could start to earn a good income online without the need to actually invest too much money initially is through creating a blog or website or to become an affiliate marketer. Both of these offer a way for your set up a business that you like. This is important because the more interested you are in the business then the much harder you are going to work on making sure that it succeeds.

The great thing about these two methods is both require little money to begin with. You can of course get someone to build a website or blog for you. But there are plenty of tools now available that will allow you to create your own without having any actual knowledge of how to do so from the outset.

Plus you can choose a subject or product that you are particularly fond of that you know a great deal about and which will help you to then earn the trust of potential customers who choose to visit your site or blog. Trust plays an important role in setting up a business online in order to earn a passive income. Without it you aren't likely to get people to purchase from you.

I hope the above tips will help you to think what are the best things to consider in order to earn a passive online business without struggles.

A positive attitude can really help you when it comes to working when you are over 50. But if you are in a position that you no longer love then keeping up such can prove difficult.

In this article I aim to provide you with a number of tips that you may find useful in helping you to know how to be positive when working for people over 50.

Also if you happen to be looking for a job now you may also find some of these tips useful and as a result help you to land that dream job of yours.

1. Report Any Problems Quickly & Professionally

Nobody likes someone who is always complaining. However if you can clearly show reasons why it is difficult to remain positive then report the problems you have immediately to your boss or whoever owns the company. When you do decide to report any problems make sure that you do so in a professional manner. It is best to not only highlight the problems but if you can also provide a solution to them, make sure that the solution is one that will work for everybody.

2. Treat Those You Work With With Respect

You'll find it easier to remain positive at work if you like the environment in which you are working. By treating those you work with, with respect and seeing things from their point of view means that the working relationship you have with them won't be stressful. Remember you don't need to like everybody that you work with to maintain a positive attitude.

3. Make Sure You Get Plenty Of Sleep

I know when I don't get enough sleep I can be a bit grumpy (ok quite a lot like the Grinch if I'm not careful). The problem is like me you probably haven't been getting enough sleep and when this happens of course maintaining a positive attitude becomes extremely challenging. If you find yourself feeling a little sluggish in the afternoon try and go to bed earlier so you wake up feeling more refreshed in the morning.

You may find changing your sleeping patterns difficult at first but once you do you'll really start to reap the benefits. Begin by going to bed say 10 or 15 minutes earlier then gradually increase this over time to say you end up going to bed 30 to 1 hour earlier than you did before.

4. Start To Identify Negative Feelings

You may not even realise it but having any kind of negative feelings can really affect your attitude at work. Becoming aware of what you are thinking, saying or doing can really help you to gain control over any negative feelings that you may have. Then start to change them. You won't be able to change every single one of them, but at least you are more aware of them and this can then help you to determine if the way you are currently feeling is justified or not.

I hope the above ways will help you to be positive when you are working over 50.

As a woman nearing retirement or women over 50, it doesn't mean you have to give up work completely. Why not think about learning simple strategies to start a passive online income instead? As you will soon learn when you carry out some research online there are numerous options available that will allow you to run a business from the comfort of your own home. The great thing is that the majority of these require very little investment from you to do so.

But in order to run a successful business there are certain things that you need to consider first, and these are as follows:

1. You Need To Understand The Factors That Will Drive A Successful Business

It isn't about having the finance in order for your business to succeed, you need to be dedicated and willing to work hard even when things may get a little rough. Also it is critical that you connect early on not only with potential clients but also partners for your business. Through networking you are also able to learn from other business owners to avoid making the same mistakes that they did.

You need to be able to adapt and in order for your business to be successful you need to constantly assess how it is doing, and make changes that you deem to be necessary. Also be open to any criticism as this will help to ensure you business remains on track and allows you to deal with any potential problems early on.

2. Does The Idea Have Potential To Provide An Income?

This is a very tricky question to answer and many people who decide to run their own business tend to wear blinkers when it comes to developing this area of their business plan. However it is vital that you actually spend time on weighing the costs of starting up and running a business against what you could potentially earn from it. This is especially important if you have already retired and are now living on a fixed income. By keeping the costs of starting up a business as low as possible can help to alleviate any potential risk to you.

If you are having problems developing your business plan then speak to an accountant or a small business counselor. Also there are plenty of places online where advice is available to help you with all aspects of setting up your business.

3. Never Neglect Your Business Plan

You should never skip writing out a plan for your business before you even consider setting it up. It doesn't need to be hundreds of pages long, you are better off writing a plan that is simple and flexible and is therefore much easier to manage. What you need to do is that you are using your business plan to help steer it rather than to act as the final say on how things should be done.

Start off by making a note of which direction your want your business to go in, then break it down into smaller pieces that makes it easier for you to work from.

I hope the above tips will really help women over 50 to start their own business.

LED high bay fixtures can be seen in houses as well as in lavishly sprawled out areas like a sports stadium. Their superior technology is a good augury for the future as they are quite unlike the pernicious conventional lights. Their emission rate is significantly low and they also turn out to be cost-effective eventually.

To talk about the pros and cons of an LED high bay light fixtures, this discussion below can serve as an eye-opener:

Pros:

1) Compatibility: LEDs are compatible to the fixtures and are manufactured keeping in mind the everyday need of both domestic and commercial properties.

2) No Ultraviolet radiation: One of the striking features of a dimmable led flood light is that it does not emit UV rays. This is in sharp contrast to conventional bulbs which can have a heavily destructive effect on the environment in the long run. LEDs have been designed with the view of helping the planet.

3) Life cycle: Another big pro in its favor is its longevity. Every bulb and light comes with a life cycle which is usually denoted in terms of expected number of hours it will serve. While it should be suffice to say that an LED has a higher life cycle, it is also important to point out that its age can be as much as 50 times that of a regular bulb. It is this marked difference in their durability which makes LED high bay light fixtures such a huge favorite of the masses.

4) Saves energy: LEDs save money since they save energy. They are durable and this itself gives a buyer ample reason to go for them. But while the long-term asset cost is going to be advantageous, it is also vital to note that the usage of this fixture will help to save energy on the day-to-day basis.

5) Saves AC bills: It may sound weird but an LED installed at your home will help you to cut down on your AC bills. How is that so? LEDs are cooler than other bulbs in the sense that they do not give out heat waves. So, the immediate atmosphere surrounding the fixture is cooler and this is reflected through lower energy consumption by an air-conditioner.

There are myriad other benefits offered by LED high bay light fixtures but let us now direct our attention towards the cons:

Cons:

Higher investment required: The basic reason why some people are still shying away from using LEDs is that its fixtures are costlier than the fixtures of conventional technology. However, the heartening bit is that despite the higher initial cost, the buyer gets to save in the form of reduced power bills. So, it gets compensated before long.

May not be feasible for certain specific situations: high bay light, dimmable LED high bay fixtures is great for common situations but may not be able to meet the lumen requirements in certain specific cases. However, having said so, such situations are uncommon and only applicable during emergencies or other unforeseeable contingencies.

Nowadays LED light bulb are used for many lighting applications. The reason for their becoming so popular is their energy efficiency. In fact, they have already proved to be a better option to incandescent and fluorescent lamps, which we have been using for a long time.

If you are thinking of how to replace your lighting system with new residential LED ceiling lights, then you are probably reviewing all of the information about this technology and what such a change needs. But, if you are not knowledgeable about the differences between the two, you may be hesitant to pay the upfront costs that come with installing residential LED ceiling lights.

You will want to make sure you know what these lights are and how they work. This type of light gets its name from the fact that it is based off a light emitting diode. In fact, these little plastic pieces are not bulbs at all but rather are very small semiconductors that have been cordoned off and separated by a plastic dome. This dome assists to protect the light that is being emitted as well as focuses it on a specific area.

An LED light can work upto about fifty thousand hours. Of course, its life depends under which conditions it works. Under ideal conditions, it should not be exposed to moisture and excessive cold or hot temperatures.

LED lamps are available in white, green, red, blue, white or amber colors. The color emitted by a diode is decided by the energy gap of the material used for making its pn junction. The composition of a diode is a slice of N-type material, carrying a negative charge and another slice of P-type material, with a positive charge, having electrodes at either end. The point where the two kinds of materials are joined forms a pn junction. The energy gaps of different types of p and n materials are different and measured in terms of wavelengths, which results to having light in different colors.

When light is to be directed to a particular point, you can employ LED lights. Compared to traditional options of lighting, these lights prove much more fitted for this purpose.

Usual incandescent lamps are notoriously energy inefficient. Nearly ninety percent of their energy consumption gets wasted due to the heat produced by them. Conversely, LED lamps consume 75% less energy compared to incandescent lamps, and produce just 3-4 BTUs/ hour, while incandescent lamps produce 85 BTUs of heat.

The energy consumption of LEDs is just 2-10 watts. That is 1/3 to 1/30 of what is consumed by incandescent lamps or CFLs. The lifespan of an LED bulb is 35-50 times more than incandescent lamps and 2-5 times more of fluorescent lamps. As per the estimates of the US Department of Energy, extensive use of LED lighting during the coming twenty years can help saving nearly $265 billion, amount enough for making forty additional power plants, thus reducing the demand of power for lighting by about 33 %.

A wider beam of light can be generated by bunching together a number of LED light bulbs. A process using low-priced silicon wafers in place of pricey sapphire-based technology has already been developed by the researchers of the Purdue University. These developments would help a lot in replacing the usual incandescent and even CFL bulbs.

People are probably always on the lookout for equipment that is an improvement on the ones currently in use. Have you considered doing up your home with LEDs instead of regular lights, only to be put off by the high cost? It's a good idea to understand the various benefits of a super bright LED lighting bulb so that you can make an informed decision regarding its purchase.

LED light lamps are great in terms of saving electricity as they burn a lot cooler as compared to normal light bulbs do. Normal incandescent bulbs use plenty electricity as when they burn, they emit a lot of heat, which, of course, needs huge electricity to sustain. On the other hand, LED light bulbs do not emit any heat as they do not burn a gas of any kind. They are purely electrical and also low frequency that makes them the ideal elements to counteract the massive amounts of electricity which you could use when turning on your lights.

The benefits are as follows:

Reduction In energy consumption:

LEDs produce light very efficiently as a result of which they consume far less energy when compared to other lighting methods. While LEDs are about 75% more efficient that incandescent lights, they are efficient even when compared to CFLs, albeit by a small percentage. Not only will your monthly power bills be drastically reduced if you use a lot of lighting at home but you will also have the satisfaction of doing something to preserve the environment.

Longer Lifespan:

A high performance LED lighting lamp bulb can last for very long when compared to other alternatives. In fact, a high quality bulb will work for 80,000 hours on average before having to be replaced. Certain brands of LEDs can also last longer although they will cost more. These bulbs are very sturdy and are ideal for outdoor use.

Good for the environment:

The material in an LED bulb light is completely recyclable. Additionally, the light bulbs do not contain any toxic materials that can harm the environment.

Versatility of designs:

LED lighting bulbs can be combined into different designs to suit various needs. The overall effect is much more attractive and luxurious than conventional lighting options and can be achieved with the greatest of ease.

Flexibility of use:

Since it is possible to dim individual LED lamps that make up a particular lighting system, users can get the exact kind of lighting that suits their needs which might change from time to time.

Purchasing a high quality LED panel lighting bulb is definitely a costly proposition, especially when considered in the short term. However, it offers immense benefits in the long term. If you can afford these lights and are willing to wait a long time for a return on your investment then it's a good idea to buy them.

Make sure that you choose a light bulb that comes with an Energy Star rating in order to be assured of the best possible performance for a long time to come. It is no surprise that increasing numbers of people are switching to this lighting option.

LED Floodlights is a kind of floodlighting fixtures that offer even illumination across a wide area such as the yard, square, stadium, stage or other spacious locations. Once in a time, metal halide and high pressure sodium are commonly used in for floodlight sources.

Light Emitting Diode are introduced into this area recently due to the rapid development of LED manufacturing and packaging. Compared to conventional lighting sources, LED has unprecedented advantages which accommodates the needs for energy-saving and less maintenance.

This article would explain the advantages of LED flood lighting system in detail and some disadvantages will also be mentioned for your quick reference.

Advantages of LED Floodlights:

LED flood lighting, no matter the lamps or the integrated fixtures are compatible to standard flood lamps or fixtures. It means that you can buy a LED flood lamps and install it in a few minutes. Or if you want to use a LED flood light fixture, you just need remove the old fixture and replace it with the new one simply.

They don't generate too much heat. Due to the lighting mechanism, LEDs have no IR radiation, which increases the ambient temperature rapidly. It means less cost for air conditioning. Moreover, there is no harmful UV radiation and the fixture body maintains at an acceptable temperature due to the high-efficiency of LEDs.

As mentioned above, LED is the most efficient lighting source than the conventional metal halide or high sodium. The lumen per watt record are frequently in labs around the world. And LEDs in mass production can reach around 90~100 lumen per watt. The value already exceeded that of HPS (High Pressure Sodium) and Metal halide, which was the most efficient light sources previously.

Long life-cycle is the most amazing advantage of LED lighting. The rated life of LED is around 50,000 hours, which is the period from initial 100% lumen output to 50%. The lifespan is 10~50 times of the traditional lighting sources. Moreover, LED floodlights use chips that assembled with tens of single LEDs or integrated high power emitters. There is no impact on the functions if one or several lighting units burn out. So it's more robust than other conventional lamps.

The unique feature of LED allows it to generate different colors easily without filters. This gains an extra energy-saving as there is no waste because of filtering. Moreover, LED floodlights are more compact in size and integrative without extra optical fixtures.

Disadvantages of LED flood lights

The initial cost is higher than traditional lamps. Generally, LED lights are 3~5 times more expensive than conventional lamps. While the operation cost may be much less, as there are much less energy bills, fees of frequent lamp replacement and labor of maintenance.

LED flood lights are not powerful enough for some critical applications that need extra-high lumen. Due to heat sinking limitation, a LED flood light fixtures can not exceed 200 Watts very easily. So it's hard to reach 10,000 lumens for LED flood lights. In this aspect, HPS or metal halide can reach the goal easily as there is not too much concern of heat dissipation for them.

In brief, LED flood lighting system can replace conventional lamps for floodlights applications in many cases. The new LED technology are the ecological solutions that gains in less power consumption and less maintenance. The barrier to mass application mainly comes from the high initial cost and limited total lumen output.

Fed up with having to spend time and money regularly replacing the fluorescent tubes in your home or office? If you are then now is the time to think about replacing such with an LED fluorescent tube.

Yet I may be somewhat biased when it comes to telling you to invest in such lighting, but I can provide you with plenty of reasons based on fact as to why you should be considering replacing your current fluorescent lighting with the LED kind.

1. They Are 30% More Efficient

As well as producing more light compared to a conventional fluorescent tube they also use much less power (wattage). In a conventional tube they will use between 28 and 32 watts, whereas when it comes to an LED tube light it only uses 22 watts.

2. Provides You With A Directional Light Source

Such fixtures emit light in a 110 degree pattern where as conventional fluorescent lighting emits light in a 360 degree pattern. Therefore only 30% of the light emitted by such will actually light up the area where they have been situated.

What this actually means is that not all the available light emitted by the fluorescent tube is being used, in fact a substantial part of it is used for lighting the fixture itself. The only way to ensure that more light is reflected where needed with this type of lighting is through the adding of reflectors, this is something that LED fluorescent lamps don't need.

3. Generate Less Heat

When turned on the energy supplied to LED lights is actually used to produce the light. However with more traditional forms of lighting you have in your home or business the energy they use is turned into heat which in turn is then used to generate the light. As a result of this because they use less energy LED lights are more cost effective.

4. Provide Light At The End Of Their Life

Generally when it comes to an LED fluorescent tube the light will gradually start to become less brighter over time. However when it comes to conventional fluorescent tubes you'll find that they just stop working without any prior warning. If you were to continue using conventional fluorescent tubes over the new LED type you will find yourself having to replace them much more frequently as they normally only have a life span of around 14,000 hours, where as LED ones have a life span of around 50,000 hours.

5. They Don't Emit UV Light

All LED lights including the fluorescent tube variety don't emit any kind of light that is part of the UV (non visible light spectrum). As they don't emit such light the strain placed on your eyes is far less so being able to work or read by such light isn't an issue.

6. Emit All Different Kinds Of Light

Even though there are some conventional fluorescent light tubes now available that emit a much warmer colour because they use a different form of phosphorous powder in them, it tends to still be quite a start light. However when it comes to LED lighting these are able to provide a variety of different colours which can be used for a variety of different purposes, making them so much more adaptable and meaning that they can be used for almost any kind of lighting situation or for any kind of environment.

So as you can see from above investing time and money and installing any type of LED fluorescent tube in your home or business can prove very worthwhile.

I am certain that you have seen many high power LED lighting bulbs being used much more frequently, especially in various applications. It can be from your automobile vehicles to your kitchen appliances to everyday items, LED products seem to be in everywhere and every space possible. However, why are they becoming so popular and what exactly are their benefits?

Solar Landscape Lighting: Solar LED landscape lighting can be put up anywhere you want them even without running wires. This type of landscape lighting is a fantastic way to call attention to landscape features during twilight, and the gentle glow of landscape lighting also makes your home a welcoming, relaxing place to return after a hard day at work, and to invite your friends over to your place on the weekend. Also, if you illuminate the walking paths, solar LED landscape lighting does helps to reduce the likelihood of slips and falls, especially during the winter when short days mean people come home well after dark, and when snow and ice can create hazardous conditions.

The Safety: The first and most practical benefit of using LED lights is that they produce a stronger, brighter light for a much longer period of time, all without heat. In fact, thousands of fires are started each year due to malfunctioning lighting or lighting being used in a way it was not meant to be. Think about when you put the lights on your Christmas tree. In the 1970's and 1980's, the lights you used were larger bulbs which would get hot after a short amount of time. How many thousands of trees were lit on fire by this type of light? Not just for Christmas tree safety, however for safety in your baby's room. Instead of a standard lamp, by using LED lighting lamp bulbs instead, you can offer a bright light for your baby's safety without the heat of typical lamps. Of all the benefits of LED's, safety is certainly at the top of the list.

The Brightness: The LED products are typically much brighter than other lighting alternatives? They are. Additional to their extra brightness, they offer this benefit in the same or much smaller size as well, so making these lighting products practical for applications that conventional light bulbs simply cannot be used for. With such small sizes available, it now allows us to hang many more ornaments on our Christmas trees than just 20 years ago when we used those big lighting strands.

Is It Cost Effective: They are actually more cost effective than any other types of lighting alternative. Many LED options need a little extra cost up front to buy, but, LED's use up to 80% less power, as such thus giving you the same lighting benefits at 80% less electricity cost. You can slash that number even more by using solar powered LED lights. Additionally to less power consumption, the high performance LED lighting last much longer than conventional types of lights. As such, this lowers costs significantly since you need to replace them much less often, but also you will require much less maintenance. If you are paying someone to change your light bulbs, quite simply, you'll be able to pay them less often.

LED lighting lamp bulbs look much the same however there is a difference and if you are thinking of changing to LED lighting it is worth thinking about this. You will hear tales of clever people buying their LED lights from reliable sources for very reasonable prices and will wonder why they cost so much from local suppliers.

The number of buyers of LED chips is limited so anyone selling rubbish at high prices would soon run out of customers. So it is a reasonable assumption that the higher the price the better the quality. It is worth bearing in mind that the lower end products are produced for the local market in China and are not supposed to be exported.

Perhaps the most critical part of the LED lighting lamp system is the driver. The driver has the job of converting the 230 Volt Alternating Current into Direct Current flowing at a constant number of Amps through the chip.

The Alternating Current reverses direction 50 times a second so the first job for the driver is to reverse one cycle so that there are two pulses of electricity flowing in the one direction. The difficult job is to smooth these pulses into an even current flow and this is where there is an enormous difference in the quality of the drivers.

The best will have about a 3% ripple in the power each cycle while the cheap models can have a ripple of up to 45%. The percentage is of the value of the maximum current.

The ripple will cause the light to flicker but because it does so at 100 cycles per second it is not visible to the naked eye. However the effect can be felt and people can suffer headaches, eye strain, or migraines. This actually was the problem with the old style fluorescent lights.

If the driver is supplying say 700 milliAmps to the LED, the ripple as it passes will supply a higher and lower current with the average being 700 mA. The higher current produces more heat which is not completely dissipated during the lower current supply. The heat accumulates and stabilises at a higher temperature, how much higher depends on the percentage of the ripple. This will shorten the life of the LED - dramatically with the larger ripples.

Probably 90% of the failures of LED light systems are caused by the driver.

There is also the other areas where cost savings are made is by scrimping on the heat sink, wiring and connectors.

Often by looking at the finish and wiring it is obvious, but not always. A foolproof way is to use your phone camera to look at the light operating. Any flicker will show up even though it is not visible.

Before you buy a LED downlight bulb system look at it operating through your phone camera. If it flickers strongly or bands move across the screen do not buy it even if it is half the price of the competition.

Many eco-friendly NGOs are doing their best to protect the environment, while all of us are standing still, cheering for them and supporting them verbally. What many don't know is that each and every one of us can collaborate in this movement without being part of those.

Now let us discuss about the advantages of high performance LED lights. They are simply more beneficial in almost every way to other types of lights. LED lamp bulbs are smaller and therefore allow suppliers to create very small products like flashlights, in tiny forms. As an example, there are tiny pocket flashlights available that are powered by a watch battery. They are so tiny that you can fit a handful in your pocket. Since they are tiny, they are also quite inexpensive to buy. You can pick several up for a dollar or two. These are handy to have in drawers, purses, pockets and all around your home and car.

The simple act of replacing standard light bulbs in our homes with LED high performance lighting bulbs are a major contribution. This step not only serves the environment, but also benefits you.

Environment friendly:

LED lights are made of non-toxic materials which makes them harmless to the environment and 100% recyclable. The other types of lights, like fluorescent lighting bulbs, contain several toxic substances that are dangerous to the environment, like mercury or other harmful gasses.

Energy efficient:

They are considered to be the most energy efficient lighting up till today. Around 80% of the electrical energy is converted into light, while the remaining 20% is transformed into other forms of energy such as heat. On the other side, conventional lights have the opposite effect, whereby only 20% of the energy is transformed into light and 80% into heat.

Long lifetime of light bulbs:

One of the most important benefits of these bulbs is their lifetime. Due to the low percentage of lost energy, most of it will convert into light, avoiding the bulb to burn. LEDs, with an expected life time of around 11 years of continuous operation, will live longer than the standard light bulbs.

High resistance:

LED lamp bulb is usually highly durable due to the solid components forming them and the absence of filament that is a very sensitive. These components make it resist hard conditions such as shock, vibrations, wind, rain, and for the same reason, they make a great addition to the outdoors, especially LED light spotlights. LED lights have little risk of burning or breaking.

Extremely low UV emissions:

UV radiations are known for their harmful effect on human beings by causing skin diseases and damaging the eyes. Therefore, LED illuminations are built in a way that produces extremely low UV emissions and little infrared light. Thus, LED lighting is suitable for humans and for materials sensitive to UV and infrared.

Low voltage:

LED lights function with low voltage power supply, which saves on electrical energy and makes the bulbs safer to handle during installation and maintenance. The low voltage needed to illuminate LED light bulbs can be supplied by an external solar energy source.

Instant lighting:

The LED high quality lighting bulbs brighten instantly when switched on, making no room for energy to get lost in the void. This advantage doesn't really affect the life span of the bulb or its light emission. Unlike that, standard bulbs may take several seconds before achieving full brightness, passing by a period of fading in or flickering.
