Living in a cold weather climate has its own unique set of problems with respect to heating your personal residence or a business. When the outside temperature begins to approach or drop below thirty two degrees Fahrenheit, many home heating fuel oils begin to thicken. Although this is commonly referred to as freezing, it actually is a gelling process. The oil does not freeze, but instead gels or thickens to a soft wax substance because the wax or paraffin contained in the fuel oil begins to crystallize and separate itself from the fuel oil compound.

The buildup of wax and paraffin then begins to clog filters and fuel lines and thereby renders your home heating system inoperable. However, home owners and business owners can follow several easy steps to prevent this problem from happening and ensure that the oil burner operates at maximum efficiency during the cold weather season.

If your oil storage tank is located outdoors, freezing, gelling or a thickening of oil burner fuel during extreme cold temperatures is quite common. If a home owner is unaware of this potential problem, the thickening or gelling of the oil fuel in the storage tank can result in less oil flowing to the oil burner as well as creating blockages in both the fuel lines and the fuel filters. For assistance with clearing these blockages, never hesitate to contact the customer support number of your professional home heating oil company. The use of the company's skilled technicians may be required to unplug and clean the gelled fuel from the filters and intake line.

To remedy this gelling problem in the future, most home heating oil companies have a special cold weather blend of oil for this purpose. This blend typically contains a percentage of kerosene that varies depending upon the cold temperature ranges in your region. Although slightly more expensive by approximately ten to twenty percent per gallon of oil, this blend ensures continued usage of the heating system and minimizes potential repair costs or additional maintenance. Optionally, commercially available additives will also help to prevent oil thickening. However, it can be a burden to remember to supplement the oil storage tank with the additive each time a fuel delivery occurs.

Reducing the oil's exposure to cold temperatures is the best way to limit fuel freezing or gelling. One option is to build a shed around the outdoor storage tank and have the fuel line into the house buried deeper than the frost line. Building a shed is the more expensive option, but it will help to camouflage an unsightly storage tank if the exterior of the shed matches the exterior of the home or business. First ensure the storage tank has enough airflow between the home and the storage tank and then build the shed with enough airflow between the storage tank and the walls of the shed. Where possible, add a small heat source within the shed as this will also help to prevent the oil from gelling.

Other options include Installing a fuel line with a larger diameter for better fuel transmission to the oil burner. A larger diameter will allow for a less constricted flow for a longer duration of time. Also consider wrapping any fuel line that is exposed to the elements with an insulation material that is water resistant or non absorption. Ensure that all openings are sealed carefully to prevent contact with the cold ground surface, cold foundation or cold air. Ideally, it would be best if all fuel lines were inside your home or business.

In addition to a commercial additive, adding kerosene to the oil storage tank will reduce fuel thickening and gelling. Mixing in kerosene reduces the freezing point of oil fuel and allows easier fuel transmission through the fuel line. Online research will provide some guidance for the correct ratio of kerosene to oil that is best for the cold temperature ranges for your region.

Although this is quite common for most installations, the oil filter should also be indoors. If the filter is outdoors, the felt which serves as the filter material inside the oil filter oftentimes clogs with wax crystals under colder temperatures. Installing the filter indoors close to the furnace or within a heated shed will prevent filter clogging. Importantly, change the filter annually for optimal performance.

Also, the use of an adhesive electric heat sheet is another way to reduce fuel thickening or freezing. These heat sheets are usually installed at the bottom of the fuel storage tank to take advantage of the principle that heat rises. The rising heat will stir the oil with a thermal action and increase the temperature of the oil within the tank so it becomes more stable. Operational costs of electric heat sheets varies as per the size and features of sheet. Your professional home heating oil company can conduct the installation.

Taking these few precautions will guarantee that your home will be warm and comfortable throughout the winter season.

Choosing to take Grand Canyon flights is often the fastest and most hassle-free way to tour this well-known world wonder. Although people often want to get up close and personal with all that this vast park has to offer, getting an aerial view is essential for fully appreciating its massive expanse and the many geological features it boasts. Sightseers can book helicopter or airplane tours, depending upon the level of exploration that they want to experience.

Although there are many differences between airplanes and helicopters, when it comes to these tours, there is one that can have a major impact on a person's of the canyon. This is the fact that helicopters are actually capable of descending straight to the bottom of the Grand Canyon, while airplanes only offer passengers the benefit of an aerial view.

These flights are structured so that passengers can take in many of the most impressive landmarks in this park without having to hike or take boating tours. For those who are mobility challenged this is often the easiest way to take in all that the region has to offer as there is no need to physically traverse any trails. This is true whether booking an airplane excursion or traveling by helicopter.

who are visiting this landmark to take photos will find that the aerial view is often the ideal way to capture all of the breathtaking scenery at each level. In fact, some tours are specifically structured for this purpose. In all instances, travelers have the benefit of knowledgeable guides who offer detailed insights on the history and formation of the canyon and all features that are passed over.

On the North Rim, people can see many different types of rock formations. Studies have assessed the oldest of these as being 1.8 billion years old. The Hermit Shale or Esplanades are major attractions for visitors. Although the South Rim is the most popular side for sightseeing, these geological structures sit three thousand feet higher than the South Rim and are best seen by passing over via aircraft.

The Colorado River is responsible for having carved the canyon walls and thus, it is a major feature within this park. From above, people can watch kayakers in action and see people taking rafting tours. Many flight excursions can connect with rafting tours, so that people can experience both aerial and land views.

Havasu Falls is another breathtaking feature that the park has to offer and one that can be viewed and fully appreciated form the air. Twin streams of water collect in a stunning turquoise pool that presents a stunning contrast to the red rocks that surround it. These falls are located just outside the edge of the National Park near the Indian Reservation of the Havasupai tribe.

It is possible for people to take comprehensive tours of both the North and South Rims when taking Grand Canyon flights. Whether hoping to take aerial pictures of the scenery or simply wanting to take a quick tour before heading back to the Las Vegas trip, this can be the perfect way to experience this vast expanse without expending a lot of effort or money. Best of all, consumers can incorporate other elements into these trips, such as helicopter descents to the basin and connections with day-long rafting tours among other things.

Email marketing can actually be much more effective than most people think. Many business owners do not invest a great deal of time, energy or money into orchestrating an email marketing campaign because they mistakenly believe all email marketing is viewed as spam. However, this is simply not true. Business owners who have discovered how to market via email successfully, enjoy a great deal of success with this type of marketing. This article will discuss how email marketing can be successful and will provide insight into how to determine how your email marketing is being received.

Before we can discuss how to determine the reaction to your email marketing campaign, it is important for business owners to understand how to plan and execute an email marketing campaign which is successful. Perhaps one of the most important elements of type of campaign is to ensure your marketing efforts are not viewed by the recipients as being spam. One way to do this is to carefully develop your email distribution list. Although you can reach a tremendous audience by sending out your email marketing materials to a large email list, this is not effective when you do not know much about whether or not the members of this email list will even be interested in your products or services. It is important to note that reaching a huge audience is not more important than reaching a highly targeted audience.

Focusing your email marketing efforts on millions of recipients who do not have a specific interest in your products or services is not nearly as effective focusing your email marketing efforts on only hundreds of email recipients who are likely to be very interested in your products or services. This is because you are much more likely to generate sales from a small, target group than you are from a large group without a specific focus.

Now that you know a little bit about email marketing and how it can be effective, you might wonder how you can determine just how effective your email marketing efforts are in the long run. This is important because it is not worthwhile to invest a great deal of time, energy and money into an email marketing campaign if your efforts are not generating results. Likewise, if your email marketing campaign is widely successful, you might want to consider organizing additional marketing efforts to further your success. We reccomend www.Automatic-Responder.com if you do not already have an autoresponder service.

Customer surveys are one of the easiest ways to evaluate the reaction to your email marketing campaign. Asking customer to fill out simple surveys when they make a purchase can provide a great deal of insight depending on the questions you ask. Questions such as where the customer learned about your products and services may seem rather innocuous but this information can actually be rather useful to the business owner. Learning where a customer learned about the products and services you offer, provides excellent feedback for which of your marketing efforts are generating the most interest. If you receive a great deal of responses stating customers learned about your products or services through emails, this is a good indication that your email marketing campaign is effective.

Another very popular way to evaluate the reaction to your email marketing efforts is to closely monitor your rate of sales as well as your website traffic immediately after you issue a new email to members of your distribution list. This can be helpful because an increase in sales or website traffic after an email was issued is a strong indication that the email was well received and encouraged recipients to visit the website and make purchases. However, there is one caveat to this method of evaluation. It can be quite difficult to determine whether or not the emails caused the increase in website traffic and sales if more than one marketing effort was made at the same time. For example if you issue an email at the same time as you launch a banner ad, you cannot determine which one is more effective and is driving the increase in sales and traffic.

Deciding whether or not email marketing is a good idea for your business can be a difficult process. The concept of email marketing is very simple to understand the process of determining whether or not it is right for your business can be significantly more complicated. This is because you have to consider a number of different factors before making your decision. You should consider your target audience and their propensity to use the Internet, whether or not your message can be effectively states in an email and whether or not your message is likely to be misinterpreted as spam. All of these factors are important and can help you determine whether or not email marketing is right for your business.

One of the most important factors to consider when deciding whether or not to invest your money, energy and time into email marketing is your target audience and how likely they are to use the Internet regularly. This is important because an email marketing campaign is not worthwhile if members of your target audience are not likely to use the Internet to purchase or research the products or services you offer. Even if the use the Internet for other purposes it is not worthwhile because they will not be likely to become online customers for your products or services. However, if you have a target audience who is very likely to use the Internet to purchase the products or services you offer and to research these items, an email marketing campaign is a good idea. In this case it is absolutely worthwhile because you will be providing information which the members of your target audience will find useful and which they may already be looking for elsewhere.

Next you should consider the products and services you offer in an attempt to determine whether or not your message can be effectively stated in an email. This is important because if you offer a product or service which is difficult to explain the emails you use for marketing are not likely to be understood or well received by the recipients of your email distribution list. This is important because you want to be able to convince potential customers of the need for the products and services your offer, not make them feel more confused.

Finally, an important concept to consider is the possibility that your email messages will be viewed as spam. This is a very important concept because emails which are viewed as spam are not likely to be well received by the recipients and may not ever even make it to the recipients if their spam filters tag these emails as spam. Even if the emails do reach the intended recipients many Internet users have grown accustomed to weeding out spam rather quickly and will be quick to delete, without reading first, emails which are suspected to be spam. In determining whether or not your emails are likely to be viewed as spam, it is important to consider the subject of your business and therefore the emails you send out. This is important because certain subjects such as weight loss pills are likely to be viewed as spam more quickly than other items. If you are in the business of marketing products or services which would likely cause your emails to be deemed spam, orchestrating an email marketing campaign may not be worthwhile.

This is a question which is on the mind of all business owners who participate in an email marketing campaign for the purposes of promoting their business. In fact questions regarding the effectiveness of any type of marketing endeavor should be asked regularly to ensure the marketing efforts are producing the desired results. Asking these questions on a regular basis and continually evaluating the effectiveness of the email marketing campaign will help to ensure the email marketing campaign is working well and remains effective whenever changes are made to the marketing strategy. This article will highlight why it is so important to evaluate your email marketing strategy often and will also provide a few tips for evaluating your email marketing strategy.

Evaluating your email marketing strategy on a regular basis is very important because failure to do so may result in your efforts being essentially a waste of time. Email marketing may be a cost effective way to advertise your business but there is some time, money and energy involved in planning and executing an email marketing campaign. If the campaign is ineffective and nothing is done to attempt to make the email marketing campaign more effective your business is wasting resources by continuing to invest in this type of marketing strategy when it is not generating profit for your business or even interest in your products or services.

It is important to regularly evaluate the effectiveness of your email marketing strategy but it is even more important to set goals before you begin the process of evaluating your marketing efforts. This is important because without these goals it can be difficult to determine whether or not the email marketing efforts are effective. For example your goal may be to increase the number of sales you make per month. Evaluating whether or not you are generating more sales each month is a fairly simple process. However, if your goal is to generate more interest in your products you would use website traffic as opposed to sales to evaluate the effectiveness of the email marketing campaign.

Once you have determined how you intend to evaluate you progress you should be able to easily determine the effectiveness of your current email marketing strategy as long as this is the only marketing you are currently doing. This is because if you have more than one marketing strategy in use at once you cannot be sure which strategy is driving customers to make purchases or visit your website. When you decide to evaluate your email marketing strategy according to specific goals you should take care to ensure you are not currently running other types of marketing in conjunction with your email marketing effort. This will help to prevent confusion about which type of marketing is producing the desired effect. It will also help to prevent business owners from mistakenly believing email marketing is producing a desired effect when it is actually another marketing strategy which is helping to product the desired effect.

Customer surveys are very important for evaluating the effectiveness of an email marketing campaign. Asking customers how they heard about your products or services is an excellent way to determine whether or not many of your customers are being enticed to make a purchase based on your email marketing efforts. Additionally, these surveys can be used to obtain more detailed information about the email recipient's reaction to the email marketing campaign. Customers can provide valuable feedback about topics such as the layout and appearance of the email to the ease of readability of the content included in the email. All of this information can help a business owner determine how to design future emails to achieve a desired effect. Armed with this information the business owner can design subsequent emails which incorporate many of the qualities previous customers found to be useful and avoid qualities which were viewed as useless in the past.

Email marketing can be very effective as long as it is not viewed as spam. This is critical because when your email marketing is viewed as spam, it will not likely be read by the recipient and may not even reach the recipient if it is trapped by the Internet service providers spam filter. For this reason it is critical for business owners to work hard to ensure the email marketing they use is not viewed as spam by either the recipient or the recipient's Internet service provider. This article will take a look at email marketing and specifically how business owners can ensure their emails are not viewed as spam.

The distribution list for an email marketing campaign is one of the critical elements which can help to ensure the emails sent by the business owner are not viewed as spam. Before this can be accomplished it is important to understand exactly what spam is. Spam is essentially email which is unsolicited and sent for the sole purpose of advertising or promoting a product or service. Internet users receive mass quantities of spam on a daily basis. For some Internet users this quantity of spam is a huge source of frustration. Other Internet users have become so used to the amount of spam they receive that they barely even notice these emails. Neither of these scenarios bode well for business owners who are using email marketing campaigns to promote their products or services. Internet users who are angered by these spam emails may react harshly and report your emails to their Internet service providers. Internet users who do not even notice spam are likely to either automatically delete your emails and may block your email address to prevent future emails from getting through to them.

Paying special attention to your email distribution list and only including recipients who had specifically asked for additional information will help to keep your emails from being viewed as spam. One way to acquire email addresses for the purposes of orchestrating an email campaign is to ask interested customers to register with your website and specify whether or not they wish to receive future emails with additional information, advertisements or other useful tips. This ensures the recipients of your emails are genuinely interested in your products and services and are not likely to view your emails as spam.

Another way to ensure your emails are not viewed as spam is to offer recipients the option of being removed from the distribution list with each email. This is important even when the recipients specifically asked to receive these emails because they are entitled to change their opinion at any time. Offering the email recipients the opportunity to remove themselves from the email distribution list whenever they want is worthwhile because it allows recipients to have some control in the situation. This is a stark contrast to spam in which the recipients feel as though they have no control over the situation and no way to stop the spam from bombarding their inboxes on a daily basis.

Finally, business owners can help to ensure their email marketing campaign is not viewed as spam by including quality content in the emails they send to the recipients on the email distribution list. This may include providing feature articles, product reviews or a series of short useful tips which will likely be of interest to all who receive these emails. These emails may also include a soft sales pitch but this sales pitch should not be the focus of the emails. Putting too much attention on the advertising is likely to lead the recipients to assume the email is nothing more than spam. Conversely, providing quality information which is useful to the recipient and subtly urging them to perform an action such as making a purchase or investigating the details of a product can make the email seem much more worthwhile and less like spam.

Email marketing may include sending email advertisements to a large distribution list, publishing and distributing an e-newsletter and sending informative emails with a soft sell approach to encourage recipients to make a purchase or visit your website. Whether you opt to utilize one or all of these email marketing techniques, you will be faced with one specific dilemma and that is writing the content which will appear in these emails. This is critical because these emails may be the first impression potential customers are receiving for your products and services. Superior content will give the potential customers a good first impression which may make them more likely to purchase your products or services. This article will discuss some proven techniques for ensuring the content you use in your email marketing campaign will reap the maximum benefits.

The importance of hiring a professional writer to assist you in your email marketing campaign cannot be stressed enough. It is one of the most critical elements to the success of your campaign. You may be a decent writer or you may have a staff member who you think can do a good job creating the content for your email marketing but unless you or your staff member is a professional writer by trade, the quality of the work will likely not be of the same quality as a professional can produce. This can be very damaging especially if your competitors are hiring writers to create their content. Your emails will likely not be viewed as favorably as the emails written by professionals.

The content you decide to include in your email marketing efforts is largely a matter of personal preference but there are some methods which have traditionally been more successful than others. The type of content which may be effective often includes informative articles, short useful tips, links to relevant websites, advertising for complementary products and even some subtle forms of advertising which are meant to persuade the recipients of the email to either make a purchase or visit your website.

Full length insightful articles which are likely to be of interest to the members of your email distribution list are an excellent idea for your email marketing campaign. These articles are a good idea because they will likely contain information which the recipients of your email will appreciate. Additionally, these articles give you the opportunity to include information about your products or services in the copy of the email. This can be a subtle form of advertising when it encourages the recipients to purchase a product or service or visit the website without actually asking the recipient to do so.

Short product reviews can also be very useful and helpful when you include them in your email marketing campaign. These reviews can help to attract a great deal of attention especially when the reviews focus on the products you offer and provide favorable reviews for these products. This type of information can either be subjective in nature or can remain objective by simply specifying the features of the products and offering other concrete pieces of information as opposed to opinions of the products.

Advertising is often a quite important part of an email marketing campaign. This advertising may either be direct or indirect in nature. Direct advertising may include banner ads or other graphical advertisements which encourage website visitors to click through the link to reach either your website or a sponsor's website. Indirect advertising may apply to content in the copy of featured articles which subtly encourage visitors to make a purchase or visit your website. The indirect marketing in an email marketing campaign is usually supporting the products or services you offer while direct marketing will likely promote products and services offered by sponsors who paid to receive advertising space on the email. Email recipients are usually well aware these graphics are part of an advertisement and will choose to click on these links when they have an interest in the products or services being offered.

I'm so doggone frustrated. Why can't people see that their work ethic is directly tied to their success? This week alone 3 business owners didn't live up to their word...and they lost my business. Three business owners in just one week! Incredible.

Those of you who know me know that I'm a dream customer. As long as things are going the way they should and the way we agreed, business owners couldn't find a better client. I pay in full right up front. No collection problems, no billing, no chasing for money. I'm very well connected, so when I get quality products and services the business owner can be sure of lots of referrals. Still, it's the rare business owner who can do what they agreed to do. And people wonder why they aren't where they want to be in life. I think I have the answer and I just gave it to you. Now what does this have to do with publicity? After all, this is a post about publicity as with all my lessons, this is directly related to publicity.

You wouldn't believe the number of people who think they can send out one press release and hit it big. They don't follow up. Even worse, they don't know how to follow up. So they let publicity opportunities pass them by every day. These are the same people who somehow got it in their heads that I sent out that one press release about selling the Brooklyn Bridge in 1983 and I became rich. Yeah, right. Keep dreaming.

It took me almost 20 years to develop my publicity system. It took me probably another 10 years to thoroughly test it and work out any bugs. Only then did I produce my publicity kit (www.MillionDollarPublicity.com), that's now being used all around the world.

I'm afraid of people who think you can get rich without doing the work required. They're dangerous to you, me and themselves. And I'm furious at the people who are preaching the gospel of "easy money with little or no work". Have you taken the time to learn exactly what the media people want from you? Have you learned how to give them what they want? It's not difficult and it doesn't take a long time to learn. But the payoff can be enormous!

Look at what the media has done for me and lots and lots of my members? It's made us famous around the country and around the world. It's given us the opportunity to earn huge amounts of money. It's opened doors for us that never would have been opened. But we had to work to get that. We had to give reporters what they want in the way they want it. It certainly wasn't difficult, but we had to do it. Nothing came to us for free.

So, next time you have one of those great moments of introspection - those moments where you can really look at where you are and where you're going - ask yourself if you are where you want to be. Be brutally honest with yourself. Have your publicity efforts produced what you want? Or haven't you even started your publicity efforts? If you aren't where you want to be and you haven't started your publicity efforts or your efforts aren't getting you what you want, do you think they are tied together? I sure do.

    *********************** ARTICLE START ***********************

A while back I was speaking with my friend and Google Adwords expert, Perry Marshall. We were talking about a tactic that some people use that baffles us. We call it "made-up scarcity". For example, some people will tell you they only have a certain number of a product on hand, but actually, they have an unlimited number. They try to create scarcity that's not there.

You got an email from me telling you that my newest manual "Cashing in On Media Relationships" will be coming out soon. I told you I'm only going to release 241 copies worldwide during the first release. Then I won't release any additional copies for at least 2 months, giving a distinct advantage to the people who got one of the first 241 copies.

Now some of you may have thought that was just a marketing ploy. Well, try being #242 on that list and try to get a copy of the manual. It won't happen.

People try to create scarcity for teleseminars, for live seminars, for whatever they're marketing.

How many times have you gone to a website and in the sales copy you were told that in order to get a special deal you have to order by a certain date (usually that day). But when you go back to the site the next day the deadline date has not-so-mysteriously changed to that day. And so on and so on. I'm not even sure that's legal. I am sure it's not ethical. The whole "made-up scarcity" thing makes no sense to me. People quickly find out that you weren't telling the truth and there goes your credibility. Maybe I'm just in fairyland with that thinking. As always, there's a good publicity lesson here.

Reporters often get hundreds of press releases a week. One of your jobs is to make your release stand out. Well, if you're following my system, that's not that difficult. But there's a very important issue here.

So many people feel they have to push the limits when they make claims in their press releases. Reporters have become numb to these claims. Worse than that, when they see exaggerated claims, the person who wrote the release loses credibility in the eyes of the reporter.

It's far better to understate your claims and then surprise reporters when you blow past your claims and you provide them with even more. Some of you may be saying: "Hold on their, dog-boy. In one of your press releases you make a claim that you can help anyone find the love of their life in 90 days or less. Isn't that an exaggerated claim?" Not at all. Actually, it's fairly conservative. I feel I can help anyone find the love of their life in about 9 days, not 90. But 9 sounds like far too much of an exaggeration. When I did interviews on the topic, reporters were dazzled when I gave them information that could help people find the love of their life in far less than 90 days. People have become numb to exaggerated claims. Don't be afraid to make bold claims. But you might not want to push to the max on your claims. Hold something back. Dazzle the reporters - and the public - when you overproduce.

People's obsessive demand for total safety and security gets under my skin. I'm baffled. Don't people realize that the more security they demand the less security they will really have? People have become safety crazy. Everything has to be perfectly safe for these people - even though that's not possible.

I took a bus to New York a few days ago. I went to switch on the light to read. The light wouldn't go on. I then saw a sign that said that the bulbs in the lights in the first two rows had been removed - for SAFETY!!! People are giving up their rights, their freedom and tremendous opportunities because they want to be safe and secure. Damn sad if you ask me. Whenever I write I try to tie in my writing to publicity. So in every one of my rants there has to be a publicity lesson. This rant is no different.

There are almost endless opportunities in the insatiable demand many people have for safety and security. These opportunities are on both sides of the issue - both for and against this obsession.

Do you have a product or service that feeds into this incredible demand for safety and security? Do you have credible information that shows people that what they're doing is not safe? That supplements they are taking are not safe? That a diet they're on is not safe?

I'm not talking about making up information just to scare people. I'm talking about solid proof, evidence, facts that show people that what they're doing is not safe. You don't have to be selling health products or security products to take advantage of this opportunity. You can be a massage therapist warning people about the risks of some new yoga program.

You can be an accountant warning people about the risks of understating income or overstating charitable deductions or not claiming cash payments. You can be a carpenter warning people about using pressboard instead of solid wood. You can be a financial advisor warning people that their retirement funds are at risk because of bad decisions they've made. You can be a website owner warning about hackers. You can own a vegetarian restaurant warning people about the risks of eating red meat. You can be a dentist warning people about amalgam fillings or "invisible" braces. Get the idea? I don't care what product or service you sell, you can hook into people's demand for safety and security. You also have enormous publicity opportunities warning people about the obsession with safety and security. You may be an author who's written a book or an article about safety obsessions. You may teach self-defense classes and you can show people that when they're prepared and trained, they can enjoy life more.

You may own an outdoor adventure business and you can tell people the facts about the very low injury rate in your business and the thrills people can experience.

What put me on the trail of this rant? Once when I was flying home from Las Vegas we hit some very rough weather. Not only were we bumping all over the place, at one point the plane dropped a down a fairly good amount very quickly. I could hear people all around me gasping, moaning and emitting other fear noises.

I realized that I and a number of other people just kept on reading or doing whatever else we were doing. I'm sure we were all thinking the same thing - we're not flying the plane and we can't control the weather. So what would panic and fear do to help the situation?

Do I want to die? Hell no. But if today is my day, I know where I'm going and I know I had a ball on this planet. So what's the big worry about dying? Beats me. I've probably given 30 or 40 publicity ideas in this one rant. Get busy and put them to use for you.

Got a fax from one of my enormously successful publicity students, Dave Panther. I've written about Dave's publicity successes in my hardcopy newsletter. Dave owns a restaurant - The Hamburg Inn. He also ran a publicity campaign that I recommended. It was called "The Coffee Bean Caucus". Here's how it worked: During the last presidential campaign, Dave set up two jars in his restaurant. One jar represented the Republican candidate. The other jar represented the Democrat.

When people came to his restaurant, they were given a coffee bean. They were asked to put the bean in one of the jars based on who they thought would win the presidency. Each week, Dave announced the results of this coffee bean poll to the media, indicating who his patrons thought would win the election.

The media people loved it. Dave got great publicity for his restaurant from this simple effort. Every time Dave wanted to send out a press release and get more publicity for his restaurant, he only had to spend a few minutes updating the results of the coffee bean poll in his press release and then send it out to reporters. But the story gets better. During this whole publicity campaign, people from "The West Wing" TV show contacted Dave about featuring his restaurant and his coffee bean poll on the show. Sure enough, The Hamburg Inn and the Coffee Bean Caucus were featured on the show. Keep in mind this was all a result of a simple press release talking about the number of coffee beans his customers were putting into two jars. But the story gets even better. Here's what Dave said in his fax. Be sure to read the PS in the fax:

    "Paul,

Just wanted to give you an update on our success using your system. As you know, the producers of 'The West Wing' contacted us about having the Hamburg Inn and our 'Coffee Bean Caucus' as part of an episode in which their candidates come to Iowa for the Caucus and two of them stop at the Hamburg Inn for the Coffee Bean Caucus.

This would not have happened at all without the idea for the Coffee Bean Caucus coming from your material and the press releases we sent out to make that such a great success...

I got my headline for the West Wing press release from your newsletter from the gentleman from St. Louis with 'The Most Unique Family in America'. (I changed that to) The Most Unique 'Political' Restaurant in Iowa...

This press release gave us front page stories and large stories with pictures in The Daily Iowan, The Iowa City Press Citizen, The Cedar Rapids Gazette, The Burlington Hawkeye, The Mt. Pleasant News, The Quad City Times and smaller stories in the Des Moines Register and many other newspapers. We also had several TV news hits and countless radio interviews and announcements.

We are now sending out another press release with the results of our 'West Wing Coffee Bean Caucus' which we will keep running in-store and online until the West Wing Presidential elections. This will create another opportunity to get media attention months from now.

I believe I'm getting better at this by reviewing your materials over and over. Thanks again.

    Dave Panther

PS - Just got a recognition letter from the Governor of Iowa and a certificate of recognition from the State of Iowa State Senate which we can now quote in our press releases.

Dave sent me copies of the letter he got from the Governor and the certificate he got from the Iowa State Senate. "Success usually follows the path of most persistence."

Dave persisted. He saw his opportunity. He jumped on it. That created more opportunity. He jumped on those. And on and on and on. Now Dave is enjoying the benefits, the good life, the rewards of his efforts. How many people say: "I just have a restaurant. How can I get publicity for that?" Replace your product or service for the word "restaurant" in that sentence. Have you said that?

I've told you over and over and over again. You don't need some dazzling, dramatic, wild story to get publicity. Dave set up two jars, gave customers a coffee bean and asked them to put the bean in one of the two jars. Can it get any simpler? He even extended that by running the coffee bean poll for a fictitious presidential election taking place on a TV show! Why aren't you getting the publicity you deserve? Are you taking the opportunities available to you just about every day? There's no magic to this. There are no miracles. You have to make the effort. But the opportunities are all around you, all the time.

I don't care if you have a retail business, a service, a professional practice, a book, a new product, a non-profit organization - whatever. There are publicity opportunities all around you, all the time.

We are creatures of habit, all of us. We do the things that we do based on a system of beliefs, and habits.

And this author has learned that your mind has two working parts, the conscious and the subconscious, The conscious mind acts as a gatekeeper, it will do anything it can to stop any thought, or idea that it deems harmful from reaching the subconscious mind. Why?

Because the subconscious instructs it to do so The subconscious mind feels that it is protecting itself, and you from harmful suggestions based on a set of believes that it might have learned when you were as young as four years old.

The subconscious mind acts like a six-year-old it will act out any given set of instructions that reaches it and will set anything and everything in motion to carry out these instructions and it will not fail

If that does not make sense to you I completely understand. Why would you think this way? Hopefully I can make you understand with a small situation that happened to me.

Many years ago I was watching a TV show about hypnotism and I watched this guy get hypnotized on TV. I remember feeling extremely emotional about how this was a crock of BS.

He was in a trance like state and answering questions from the hypnotist and all I could think of while watching this is how phony it was, over, and over I kept saying to myself this was BS and I never visited it or thought about it again until many years later when I was desperate to quit smoking.

I came across an ad in the newspaper It was a guaranteed stop smoking session that included getting hypnotized and I remember it costing approximately $100 and I thought that's worth it if I can quit smoking that easily for $100 I'm going to give it a try so off I went.

During the entire group hypnotism there was approximately 50 people in the theater and this man was onstage with dim lights trying to put us all in a trance like state and suggesting things to us all in the ways of stop smoking, or I don't smoke, quit smoking, etc.. ( You Get The Picture ) and all I could think to myself the entire time was this is BS. I was convinced this guy could not hypnotize me and that he was a phony!

As I exited the session I immediately lit up a cigarette got in my car and drove home.

Oh well there went a hundred bucks. Do you see how my conscious mind was doing what my subconscious was directing it to do?

And it worked like no one else's business so Why would subliminal messaging be any more effective then getting hypnotized?

(And by the way I also tried a one-on-one session with a hypnotherapist and I got the exact same results.)

Because the subliminal message is not audible to the conscious mind, it completely bypasses the conscious mind and only the subconscious can hear the message.

It truly has done wonders for me in so many areas of my life from positive thinking, to goal setting and a whole host of other things that I struggled with in years past

I would encourage any smoker to give it a try if you feel you cannot get past the cravings it takes no effort on your part other than listening to some calming music or crashing ocean waves for 20 to 30 minutes a day.

Heck you can even set it up in loop mode on your MP3 player and listen to it while you sleep, where is the effort in that?

It is extremely cheap, less than $15 a download, unless of course you do the customized version which I would recommend again because it's your messages and no one else's but nonetheless they have subliminal messaging specifically for quit smoking.

There's really no reason, or you should at least be running out of excuses by now to not give it a try.

Whatever path you do decide to take to quit smoking if the "desire" is there you will be victorious.

The keyword is "desire" once you desire to truly do something there really is no effort involved in accomplishing the task.

Once you impress that desired message to your sub conscious, and back it with emotion, and faith there is nothing, and I mean nothing the human mind cannot achieve.

Napoleon Hill put it the best "What ever the mind can conceive and believe it can achieve"

Back in the 1950's, smoking was fashionable. In fact, it was considered commonplace. Back then, you could smoke everywhere – in restaurants, airplanes, grocery stores, even hospitals.

A smoker never got a dirty look for lighting up in public. It was the people who DIDN'T smoke who were in the minority. My, how times have changed!

Smoking is nothing new to civilization. In fact, scientists can determine that as far back as 1000 BC People start using the leaves of the tobacco plant for smoking and chewing.

How and why tobacco was first used in the Americas no one knows. The first users are thought to have been the Mayan civilizations of Central America. Its use was gradually adopted throughout the nations of Central and most of North and South America. From that moment, tobacco production began catching on and tobacco products became readily available throughout the young United States of America.

In 1832, the first paper cigarette was introduced. It is widely believed that the first paper rolled cigarettes were made by Egyptian soldiers fighting the Turkish-Egyptian war. Other historians suggest that Russians and Turks learned about cigarettes from the French, who in turn may have learned about smoking from the Spanish.

It is thought that paupers in Seville were making a form of cigarette, known as a 'papalette', from the butts of discarded cigars and papers as early as the 17th century.

In 1900, Smoking jackets and hats have been introduced for gentleman smokers. After-dinner cigar (with a glass of port or brandy) is now an established tradition in turn of the century Britain. Cigarettes are also a part of life.

In 1950, evidence of a link between lung cancer and smoking is published in the British Medical Journal. Research was done by Professor (now Sir) Richard Doll and A Bradford Hill. In 1964, the United States Surgeon General tells Americans that smoking causes lung cancer. Not many people listened. Shortly after, in 1965, federal law not only prohibits tobacco advertising on television, but they also make it mandatory to include the Surgeon General's warning in print on all cigarette packs.

The last radio ads for cigarettes ran in 1971. The airline industry began making concessions for the anti-tobacco coalition.

In 1975, they created separate smoking sections on airplanes causing disturbances with customer everywhere. The trend continued toward more smoking bans all over the country.

Today, there are many towns who are attempting – and some are succeeding in making their entire towns non-smoking.

Anymore, if you are a smoker, you are relegated to puffing away in an alley, on the sidewalk, or sneaking a quick hit in the bathroom.

It's no longer fashionable to be a smoker.

So why are there so many people out there who still smoke?

Research over the years began to indicate certain ingredients in cigarettes that point straight to a highly addictive habit.

Most people who smoke agree that they probably shouldn't be smoking.

They know that it's harmful to their health, but they still light up when they get the chance. Many smokers want to quit, but think they're powerless against the hold that tobacco has on them.

I am here to tell you, quitting smoking can be for some no walk in the park. It can for some hurt physically, but even more emotionally.

This devil weed takes hold of every part of your life and helps to form your identity. You are a smoker, how in the world will you become a non-smoker?

Persistence, commitment, willpower, and patience are all ways you will succeed in your venture to stop smoking.

We won't lie to you for some it's going to be one of the hardest things you will ever do.

But once you become smoke free, you'll be so glad you suffered the way you did.

This site is intended to address the biggest issues that face people who have decided to quit smoking. And give them state of the art programs, books and alternative affordable ways to quit.

My sincere hope is that we can take this journey together. This author was a severe smoker. Hopefully, I can guide you on a path to a better way of life and free you from the chains of your addiction.

I truly wanted to quit smoking. But there was so much holding me back.

Circumstances of life, stress, etc. all hindered me from putting down that cigarette and giving it up for good. My mother was a heavy smoker when she was younger.

Her Mother was a smoker and a close acquaintance of mine was a smoker who quit one Super Bowl Sunday after smoking a whole carton in one day.

When I was stressed, I smoked. When I've had a few drinks, I smoked. When I wanted to relax for just a moment, I smoked.

It's not the healthiest way to deal with life, now is it?

I knew I needed to quit because I have to take several breaks when doing normal, everyday chores like picking up the house.

My lungs could not handle the exercise. I could walk a couple of miles at the local gym, but I can't haul a few loads of laundry down to the basement without getting winded.

I wanted to quit because I wanted to watch my children grow up.

I wanted to stick around to torment my kids the way they have tormented me (joking, sort of!).

I did not want to die, yet I still would partake of an activity that would probably cause me to die eventually.

It's insane. This site will probably be a little disturbing ( at times).

That's what it's meant to be. Not all the time but when you begin to study the effects of smoking on your body, the scary reality is that what happens IS disturbing.

I have been a Non Smoker now for 6 years and I have no desire "Ever," to smoke. It can be done And I will search high and low to find the best possible actions to take.

I have a goal to inspire One Million People to quit smoking and with the help of this site, FaceBook, and you, I will accomplish it.

Made in the USA specialty stores support American workers by selling products using American labor to make. This is a vital part of what makes America great, and can help lead to the revitalization of the American economy and help increase home based jobs.

In 2010, compensation costs (wages and benefits) for manufacturing jobs in the US were $34.75 an hour compared to $1.36 per hour in China (2008), based on BLS estimates.

American Made products may cost a little more but the quality should also be better. Often products made with foreign parts will result in a product that is inferior and does not last as long.

Still, it's a stretch to say, as is commonly heard, that the US doesn't make anything anymore. Gifts for family, friends and special occasions that are American Made for everyone on your list. Be sure to check out retailers that specifically sell products made in the USA next time you are shopping for your next gift. Your purchase of American made products can help increase the productivity of the United State economy, decrease our unemployment rate, and help produce an overall stable and prosperous United States economy. After all, without a prospering economy the United States is at risk of losing it's ability to call itself the greatest country in the world.
