More often than not, you will encounter "rundll32.exe" whenever you use your computer and this can be seen regardless of which version of Windows you use. Some errors can be encountered with this item as well. But for us to be able to fix any errors involving it, understanding what this file is will become needed. This is an executable file responsible for running other DLL files that are present in the computer. These DLL files, or Dynamic Link Library files, are similar to "EXE", or executable, files but they cannot just run all by themselves. This special executable file is the command that makes all of these other DLL files run in the computer to get certain programs and applications to run inside it.

There are a number of issues that can happen with this kind of file. A virus can sometimes affect the way certain programs run in your computer. Problems can also cause rundll32.exe errors that trigger high cpu usage that can greatly slow down a computer. Another error that can happen is when this executable file is detected as "missing" in the computer.

How to Determine If It's A "Rundll32.Exe" Error

There are a number of ways to be able to find out if you are having any problems with this executable file. One way is to check out the Task Manager and then go to the Processes tab. If by chance you are to go there and then you see you have two instances of that executable file, it tells you that your PC has an issue with it. Running a malware scan in the PC can help in detecting it and removing the one that is a fake.

There are also instances that the computer is running slowly because of the executable file in question. The reason for this is because it has become corrupted already. When it becomes corrupted, it cannot manage the DLL files that get to run and in turn it eats up all of the computer's CPU usage, slowing it further.

Rundll32.Exe Repair Solutions

In cases that you want to have a fast fix for this issue, there are a few steps that you can try:

Try to download tools that can help in checking for your registry files. In this case of doing a fix for the current issue, downloading a PC optimizer can help in checking your PC's registry.

Install the tool and then run it in your computer. Installing the tool to fix your PC issue can be fairly easy to follow and then using it will be as straightforward as possible.

Once you have seen that the tool was able to clear out any unnecessary files that may be causing your issue within the PC, try to do a weekly check with your computer to make sure the fix remains the same way.

There are instances that the file becomes "missing" from the PC. A computer will not work if this file has suddenly gone missing and it can't just be deleted easily from the PC. Cases like this, a virus may have a affected the file and the computer programs that need it to run their DLL files cannot find it, hence the "file is missing" message will appear.

In Windows, there is a certain command that can be used to check this file without needing to immediately download anything to fix this. "SFC", or System File Checker, can be run in a computer and it can then try to detect that each file that runs Windows 7 are in their place and none of them are corrupted.

Here are the steps to run this check:

Click Start, then All Programs, then Accessories, and then look for Command Prompt and then right-click it and choose Run as Administrator

Just click Yes when prompted to allow the said action.

Once the command prompt is open, just type "sfc /scannow" and then press Enter

A message will appear in the "Command Prompt" saying that the scan is now beginning and then a percentage will show the progress of the scan.

Wait for the scan to complete and then check the message if there were any files that were fixed or any that were corrupted and were unable to get fixed.

5. You also have the option to download the missing file; you just have to be careful when downloading it. Some of these files are infected with trojan so it is best to get it from trusted sources.

While you could go through all the troubleshooting steps yourself, you could also just get a dll repair tool which will do the job for you.

*********************** ARTICLE START ***********************

Your computer may suddenly start running slowly without you doing anything in particular. You would then try to check in your Task Manager and you'd find out that one file, mscorsvw.exe, is using up too much CPU resources. Now before you do anything with this file, its use must be known first. This is an executable file that optimizes your PC to make programs launch faster. This is most commonly seen when a program that you use will be using the ".NET" Framework in order for its program to start. It is a component of Windows and must not be removed from it.

In order for you to observe how this file is running, you can try to open the computer's Task Manager and then go to the Processes tab. It will be labelled as a ".NET Runtime Optimization Service." It can also be seen more than once inside the Task Manager but it will be part of its normal working process.

It usually runs when the PC gets any Windows Updates. Often times, Windows Updates will only get downloaded and will run during the day. During this time, it would start running as well and it may cause the computer to slow down.

"Mscorsvw.exe's" cpu usage can sometimes be high, but this can be normal especially during moments when the PC is doing an update. High CPU resource usage may also be caused by the .NET Framework trying to access the Internet all the time. Its Internet access is necessary because it will try to check for any certificate that may be needed to keep the programs and applications running properly inside the computer. Turning them off can be possible but it may also pose a high risk to your PC.

With cases where it may slow down the computer, getting a free pc optimizer can be helpful in maintaining your PC's overall performance and straighten out the "mscorsvw.exe" high memory usage. Running an optimizer can then help in making sure that any program that needs this file can be run properly to quickly end the service and stop it from consuming more CPU usage.

There are a few things that you may get to see when you encounter an error that goes like:

*file* is missing

*file* was not found.

The blue screen of death

An error in Windows Startup and registry

Two or more found in Task Manager and high CP usage

Since it uses the Internet, mscorsvw.exe network access will be involved. A virus can also possibly attack and affect your PC's performance. The file cannot be recommended to be stopped or removed since letting it run will be needed to keep a PC's security running. Letting it run will keep the digital signatures running for the programs that are installed in a PC.

Regularly checking the performance of this executable file is not necessary. It will run automatically and when it has finished its task it will turn off on its own. There are some scripts that can be run inside a computer to be able to get most of the programs run faster and get it to end faster as well. These scripts work by letting the command run through the computer's other CPU cores. The normal case for it to run is to use only one CPU core of a computer.

In case that installing and adding the file is manually is needed, there are a few steps that can be done to have this corrected:

Use either your system setup CD, or use another PC that is running the same setup as yours to copy it from.

Look for the folder "C:Windows\System32\Microsoft\.NETFrameworkv2.0.50727" and save the copy there.

Open your PC's command prompt and type in "regsvr 32 *filename*" and then press Enter.

Malware and viruses can affect the performance of the .NET Framework altogether. To prevent an error from happening, you can:

Keep your .NET Runtime Optimization Service up-to-date.

Try to check for any invalid registry keys.

Try to regularly run an anti-malware scan in your computer.

Being able to download a helpful tool can help in immediately fixing this issue. This may also help when a computer encounters that dreaded BSOD. Windows XP in particular may get an issue most often since most of the programs that runs in this operating system version will require a .NET Framework before it can run properly, but Windows 7 may not encounter this very often.

We live in a world wherein we, as humans, go through our everyday lives side by side with technology. However, there are those times when our artificial companions communicate with us in a baffling way. For sure, you have encountered one of those numerous cryptic messages that suddenly flash on your computer monitor, notifying you that something has gone wrong; but you can't even understand it, much less fix it!

One of such common yet hard-to-fix errors is the infamous "MPSSVC.dll" issue. Most of the time, we will see either a simple error message or a lengthy one explaining that the Windows firewall failed to perform properly since a "DLL

file is missing. Some of us would simply leave this error alone, which is not the wisest move to make as this malfunction can quickly spread and affect the other parts of the system.

Anyone who had sat in front of a computer for some time would recognize the importance of the firewall as an essential line of defense against malicious attacks. To troubleshoot this type of issue, it is important to understand its root cause. A DLL (or dynamic link library) is a type of repository that contains certain bits of code and similar data available for use by more than one application at a time.

The MPSSVC.dll error can take on many faces. Oftentimes, you will see an error that says that the dll is not found, that it is missing, or that there was a violation when trying to access it. Sometimes, the PC would not start up at all. The issue can manifest when you start up or shut down your computer, or if you are trying to run specific applications. The error may also show up as a missing "MPSSVC.dll.mui" ("mui" standing for Multilingual User Interface).

Troubleshooting the exact root of this issue is a bit complicated. In fact, there are several issues that can cause an MPSSVC.dll error. Hence, it is a good idea to perform some troubleshooting techniques, such as the ones outlined below.

l Conduct a full malware and antivirus scan. Some of the errors can be caused by malicious programs on your drive.

l You can do a disk cleanup in order to remove system junk, which might end up choking out the registry.

l Remember that outdated drivers can cause issues with DLL files as well. As such, it is important to keep all your device drivers updated. When getting drivers for your machine though, it'd be best to remember that some are made specifically for a particular OS.

l You can do a system restore in order to restore your PC to its last known working configuration. This is especially useful if you noticed the error appearing after installing a piece of software.

l Uninstall and then reinstall the program associated with the MSSVC.dll error.

l You can also do a system file check to assess the integrity of your system files.

l In the manner of updating software, make sure that all Windows updates are installed accordingly.

l You may also do a clean install of the Windows OS. Before you proceed with this PC-fixing approach though, you should save your most important files in a separate storage device.

In the event that none of these work, then you are most probably dealing with a broken or missing DLL. In this case, you may use a DLL tool to download the missing file from a library. Afterwards, you'll have to make sure that the file is properly registered by typing "regsvr32 MPSSVC.dll" at the command prompt. Downloading the file is relatively quick and easy, and anyone can do it.

Computers may be very complicated contraptions but with the correct knowledge and proper care, no issue will be too tough to handle. The tips presented here are just some ways on fixing the MPSSVC.dll issue, but there are also lots of tools out there that are able to automatically detect and download the correct DLL file for your system.

As with all software packages, it is best to use these with extreme caution as they tend to fiddle with a very vital and sensitive part of your system. If you are looking for a guaranteed fix that will not expose you to the tendency of further worsening the issue, you can simply perform the steps listed above and bring your PC back into shape.

*********************** ARTICLE START ***********************

Though you probably think that the problem you're facing right now is quite rare, it actually isn't. Countless people throughout the world wish to fix prntvpt.dll errors. Well, unlike most of them, you've stumbled upon this article. You've found a guide that not only tells you how to solve the issue, but also makes you more knowledgeable about the DLL.

Knowing for Certain

So, how do you know if your PC's "pmtvpt" file needs fixing? You just have to check whether these error messages appear on your computer screen:

Prntvpt.dll is missing

Prntvpt.dll could not be found

Prntvpt.dll not found

Cannot load "prntvpt.dll"

The program cannot start because prntvpt.dll is missing from your computer.

Learn More about the DLL

What exactly is prntvpt? Where is it located? It is a Dynamic Link Library file that is used in Windows operating systems such as XP, Vista, and 7. It is developed by the Microsoft Corporation. It is a Print Ticket Services Module that is typically found in the %SYSTEM% folder and is 119,296 bytes in size. Do not worry because fixing errors is easy.

Get a Copy, Solve the Problem

If you see a pop-up window saying that pmtvpt is missing or is not designed to run on your operating system, you probably have to download a new copy of the file. You can also contact your system administrator or software vendor and ask for a copy of the DLL. Never forget that downloading files from the web isn't always safe.

Considering Registry Dilemmas

If replacing the file didn't solve the problem, you should clean your Windows Registry. Usually, prntvpt errors show up because of a corrupt registry or a broken system structure. Keep in mind that your prntvpt file manages program information in your operating system. So if your registry is damaged, you'll end up facing prntvpt errors.

Even if you've finally put an end to the issue, you need to clean and scan your registry on a regular basis (at least once a month). Also, you may want to download a good registry cleaner to ensure the efficiency and security of your computer. A registry cleaner can clean, fix, defragment, and repair your registry, as well as increase the speed of your computer. There are free and paid registry cleaners online.

In order to keep your computer in top condition, see to it that slowdown issues are also fixed. Keep in mind that non-system processes, such as those involving prntvpt.dll, originate from software programs that you install on your computer. Over time, your registry can suffer from fragmentation because many applications store data in it. When invalid entries accumulate in your registry, your computer may slow down.

A Possible Case of Infection

You may also see prntvpt.dll errors if your computer is infected by viruses. If this is the case, you need to scan your PC to diagnose and fix the problem. You need to download the most recent antivirus software from a legitimate website. Make sure that you get the best software to protect your system against worms, adware, viruses, malware, and spyware.

Interesting Things to Know

Is it possible to stop prntvpt? Well, you can stop processes as long as they are not involved in running the operating system. You should scan your operating system to see which processes utilize valuable resources despite not being use. While there is a way to stop the DLL from running, doing so won't solve the problems you're having.

If you are wondering if prntvpt is CPU intensive, then take note that it is not. Running too many processes on your computer at once can affect its performance. In order to free up valuable system resources, manually disable the processes that run the moment you start your PC.

Do remember though, that most antivirus applications run at start-up. So, for the sake of keeping your computer shielded from malicious software, it'd be best not to tinker with processes associated with the antivirus. Of course, if you aren't that knowledgeable about computers, you shouldn't even try to disable anything.

You Can End the Issue

As you've discovered while reading this article, solving errors won't be among the most difficult thing you'll ever have to do in your life. However, it's true that you're going to spend some time in front of your PC as you try to sort out the problem. Still, spending time to fix the error is much better than merely deciding to live with it.

Some of us may have worked with a computer for a very long time. Of course, those who have had their fair share of computer troubles know that there are certain sensitive parts of the system that shouldn't be meddled with. One such part is the fragile "system32" folder that could either get corrupted or accidentally deleted with reckless handling or running of applications, such as registry cleaners.

And what happens when we suddenly delete or corrupt that folder? The dreaded "BSOD" (Blue Screen of Death) appears. However, many other glitches can cause the dreaded issue. Some of you may have simply tried streaming a video, when your PC suddenly froze, beeped, and displayed the blue screen. If you read through the screen, you will probably see an error that points to a file called "watchdog.sys" which caused the problem.

Many have already faced this issue, but only a few know how to actually get rid of it. This article will tell you all you need to know to get it fixed; but first, it's crucial to answer this question – what is watchdog.sys? It is actually a type of system file that is produced by the makers of your operating system. System files allow your PC and its attachments to communicate well with your browsers and other applications.

Many of us have seen this error although some would tend to simply ignore it, for a lack of better solution. True, such an error would usually present itself via a popup that includes a string of highly technical jargon. However, leaving such a vital error is extremely detrimental to the health of your entire system, and as such can result in total malfunction.

The error's most common causes are faulty hardware or some corrupted device driver files. The watchdog.sys file is vital in running critical functions and hence, must work perfectly at all times. A few more common causes of this error include:

l Incorrectly configured, old, or corrupted device drivers

l A software change that caused a change in the watchdog.sys driver

l The file has not been installed or was removed (one of the most common reasons)

l Virus or malware infection

l Hardware conflict

l Corrupted sys32 or other system folders

l Watchdog.sys crash caused by a damaged hard drive

l RAM corruption

The most common way of fixing the problem is to download free tune-up tools that will find and install this missing file into your system. This is once you are sure that the reason for the error is a missing SYS file (which can be ascertained by searching for "watchdog.sys" in your Windows search tool). These programs can be downloaded free of charge in a lot of websites, and they can scan your system to find any other missing vital files.

They are mostly for limited use, but commercial versions are also available that can scan your PC periodically to prevent such occurrences. As always, make sure to only download programs from sites you trust to avoid doing more damage to your PC. Here are other troubleshooting steps that could work, in case downloading a DLL fixer failed to put your PC back into shape.

l Uninstall and then reinstall programs. Some installation packages actually include all the vital files needed for programs to run. In some cases though, these installers fail to install everything correctly on the first try. Some programs may prompt you to redo the installation to fix the issue.

l Run an antivirus or antimalware program. Some damage could have been caused to the system by an invading virus or spyware, so it's vital to clean up the PC. Make sure to use only reputable antivirus or antimalware programs as alternatives may either be inefficient or could cause more harm when trying to delete the virus. Well, lots of good freeware programs are available.

l Use the Windows installation CD to repair the OS. You can use the recovery disc to restore any damage done to your system, as the CD contains all the needed files for smooth Windows operation. If you do not have this, a System Restore may do the trick. However, remember that a system restore only reverts the settings to that of a saved restore point, and may only be used if the error was caused by installing or uninstalling a program.

Fixing this kind of error is a bit challenging. It's also quite time consuming. Fortunately though, you don't have to spend anything. So, will you fix your computer, or will you have it repaired by someone else? Think carefully before you decide.

Computer troubles can always be distressing, especially during those moments when we couldn't figure out what to do to fix them. Despite the user-friendliness of the Windows operating system, it still has that habit of spewing out complicated error codes that leave us at a loss.

Perhaps some of you who have spent some time in front of a computer would recognize these error lines:

"ntkrnlpa.exe irql_power_state_failure"

"ntkrnlpa.exe page_fault_in_nonpaged_area"

"DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE 0x0000009f 0x00000003 0x86036690 0x8078adb0 0x85e33008 ntkrnlpa.exe"

These are just segments of some error messages that appear with the infamous BSOD (or Blue Screen of Death) issue. Seeing the above line in any message would mean that there is damage to one of the core components of your operating system. Many people would immediately take their PCs to a technician after seeing such messages. However, handling this error by yourself need not be so difficult.

The ntkrnlpa.exe "BSOD" usually occurs in many instances. Most people see it when the computer enters sleep mode, or when the system wakes up. There are also those who see it a minute or two after using any of the USB ports.

First off, we have to understand the origin of the problem. The ntkrnlpa.exe on XP and Vista is used by the system to execute the service called "NT Kernel & System" for the processes "msdt.exe" and "rundll32.exe". You might recognize the second process, which in itself also appears quite frequently among different error messages. A "dll" or dynamic link library is a group of files that can be shared among different applications, allowing these programs to work. If the system cannot find the correct dll file, some programs may not be able to access specific parts of the computer's memory.

Also, "ntkrnlpa" is used to support the different device drivers in the computer system.

One of the most common ways to fix the problem with the executable is to delve into the sensitive Windows registry. Sometimes, as we go about installing and uninstalling various types of applications, these registry files get bloated and eventually become defragmented. This can easily lead to data overload and data corruption, bearing with it damages in registry files, among them the ntkrnlpa.exe file.

The corruption could also be catalyzed by malicious programs such as an ntkrnlpa virus, malware, and other such file types that directly attack similar registry entries. Thus, fixing it is one of the steps in repairing the ntkrnlpa.exe BSOD error on XP, Vista, or 7.

Once you have this error, there are three different programs that you can install and run to help you restore your PC back into top shape:

l "DLL" fix tool. Some websites in the net offer programs that can scan your registry for broken and missing system files. These programs can download DLLs for you, resolving the issue. However, be careful when selecting which sites to download from since more malicious software can piggyback on these applications, further complicating the issue.

l Antivirus and Antimalware programs. Several well-known antivirus programs are available online, and you can download freeware versions of these. Most of the time, these software should be able to pick up any malicious program damaging your registry. Deleting these viruses or malware can restore the system to its previous state. Of course, make sure to be careful when deleting these unwanted bits of code, as vital files may be removed along with them. Some scan tools have the ability to distinguish between vital and non-vital files.

One downside to this is that antivirus programs are known for slowing systems down, especially a damaged one. Hence, they should be run separately from the other tools listed here.

l Registry cleaners. Though these are also notorious for causing registry errors when used recklessly, they can also be handy in a pinch. Registry cleaners work by removing registry entries that are related to non-existent (uninstalled) applications. This way, the system can easily sort out the other useful files.

Aside from these, there are also those "all-in-one" applications that have the functionality of all these programs. Though they are worth a try, there are versions of these applications that cannot compare to their standalone counterparts. Regardless of these, they can be useful when figuring out the correct troubleshooting steps required for your BSOD issue.

In the end, nothing beats the periodic maintenance. A vast majority (if not all) computer problems can be avoided with proper care. This would include scrutinizing the sites you download your files from, as well as carefully checking the programs that you install.

"Tasklist.exe" is a Microsoft Windows program that lists the processes that are currently running within the computer system. It is available in Windows 7, 8, XP and Vista. If you're using Windows, you probably have it.

This exe file is useful in knowing what the computer is doing and discovering errant tasks. You can utilize this on a local or remote computer by accessing the command prompt and typing tasklist. Upon doing so, you will see a list of the names of the computer process and their respective PID (Process ID), location, session number, and memory usage. You may type the following on the command line to execute more specific actions:

"/S" then the name of the system to display the tasks in a remote system

"/M" for modules

"/SVC" for hosted services

"/V" for verbose tasks

"/FI" filter for tasks that are related to a specified criteria such as status, image name, PID, session (session number), sessionname, CPUtime, memusage (memory usage), username, services, windowtitle, and modules (for dll)

"/FO" format to show the data as a "CSV" (comma-separated values), "LIST" or "TABLE".

Tasklist > process.txt to save it in a document

Error Notifications

You may be alerted that there's something wrong with tasklist when the computer is starting up or when you try to access this program. You may see one of the following:

Tasklist.exe is not found. The tasklist cannot be found anywhere in the computer or it is not in its usual place at c:\windows\system32.

Tasklist.exe unable to locate component. A component of the tasklist is missing.

Tasklist.exe is corrupted. The program is corrupted by a virus or bad programming.

Fixing the Issue

Before you do anything, you should log in an administrator account. Only those who have administrator accounts can see important files and make changes in the computer system. You can either borrow someone's account, have an administrator change your account, create a new administrator account, or change your account's settings by clicking on User Accounts in the Control Panel.

Look for the program in "c:\windows\system32". Use Windows Explorer to look for My Computer. Click that to find Local Disk C:, then Windows, then System 32. Before opening this folder, you will be told that you must not modify the folder's contents to avoid harming your computer. You need not worry about this but just click "show contents of the folder". You should find the exe file here; you'll find it easier if you arrange the icons alphabetically. If you didn't see it, you will need to do either of these:

1. Find where tasklist is then put it where it belongs. You can open your file folders one by one or use the search function. Once you see it, go to where it is, copy it, and then paste it to c:\windows\system32.

2. Reinstall the program if you didn't find it anywhere. Get your Windows installer program and reinstall it or you could look for the specific file online then install that.

3. Do a system recovery. Press Start, then All Programs, then System Tools, then System Restore. Select a point of time where you'd like to restore the system. This may bring back the missing Windows program if the loss was caused by recent system changes.

If the tasklist is still there but it's not working, you need to know if a virus is causing it to malfunction. Other than that, a virus may pretend to be the tasklist but it is doing something else. Get a good antivirus program to weed the problem out. Removing viruses may make the program run again; if not, try installing a clean copy of the exe file.

If the virus scan turns up nothing, the tasklist may be damaged not because of a virus but because of other things. If so, you have to reinstall it also.

There are exe and "dll" repair tools you can use to make your computer run more efficiently. You can find these online and download them. These enable you to scan your computer and find programs and applications that need fixing. This may solve the problem or not. Before downloading and running any repair program, check whether it is virus-free and reliable. Searching for reviews about it usually suffices.

When you have made changes to your computer system, you have to restart the computer so that it can be implemented fully. Once it restarts, check for the tasklist again. If all things fail, you can go to a computer repair shop or Microsoft Windows service provider to get professional assistance.

*********************** ARTICLE START ***********************

By following a number of procedures, a "prevhost" application error can be resolved. Since it can disrupt the processes of some programs and even infect these with virus or malware, which can cause program or system instability, it poses a threat to your operating system. As some would agree, you should get an error of the sort repaired immediately. Otherwise, your computer will not function accordingly and can lead to errors that are more critical. If left unfixed, you may be temporarily or permanently unable to accomplish even basic tasks such as open media files via a downloaded application or utilize the media player.

What Is Prevhost?

Preview Handler Surrogate Host or prevhost, usually 31 bytes in size and can be located in a Windows System subfolder, is a hidden .exe or executable Windows file associated with Home Premium Windows Vista Service Pack 1. It is designed to assist with the function of certain programs especially those featuring media or data from a third-party source. By default, it will load automatically every time Windows or any program that relies on it is initialized. However, although not recommended, the original setting can be modified and disabled.

What Is Prevhost Error?

With it being an executable file, Preview Host will likely lead to an error or a crash if a procedure during execution has not been followed accordingly. Either that or it has been maliciously (by virus or malware) or manually disabled. If the malfunction is left unrepaired, some programs will not work properly. In addition, if you have failed to eradicate the problem while opening and running the file, high-memory usage will be a concern.

Causes of Prevhost Errors

A program is in conflict with Home Premium Windows Vista Service Pack 1

Corrupted or incomplete download of prevhost.exe or other executable files

Malicious programs have deleted prevhost

The executable file is infected with virus or malware

Windows registry keys that are associated with prevhost or Home Premium Windows Vista Service Pack 1 are corrupted

With prevhost.exe error, Win 7, Windows 8, Windows XP, Windows Vista, or any other Windows versions can malfunction and can disrupt an activity while using your computer. Since it can come up unexpectedly and can stop a program before enabling you to save your progress on it, it can be bothersome. To be safe, consider getting the download from a reliable source instead of other executable file distributors that are making it available. The product they give away may be free but they can be potentially harmful. You cannot guarantee that what you have received is uninfected with virus or malware.

List of Prevhost Error Messages

Preview Handler Host appcrash

Preview Handler Surrogate Host is an invalid application

Preview Handler Surrogate Host has been disabled

This action cannot be completed because the file is being used in Handler Surrogate Host

Preview Handler Surrogate Host error: no file in application path

Host is missing

Handler Host memory-usage is too high

Prevhost has failed

There was an error in running Surrogate Host

After receiving a notification that indicates prevhost.exe has stopped working, have the problem managed as soon as possible. Usually, the error will arise upon attempting to initialize a program but since it is a Windows system file, it can also come up during computer startup, computer shutdown, and even while using a specific program. Although it can be resolved with just a few steps, it is advised not to prolong the occurrence of the error on your system. Otherwise, it can cause the faulty operations of some programs and can result to an eventual system failure.

8 Steps on How to Fix Prevhost Errors

Repair all registries that are associated with Windows Vista Service Pack 1.

Enable a full malware scan to assess all the files in your PC.

Clean your system's temporary files and folders using Disk Clean-up.

Update your system's device drivers.

Use Windows System Restore to undo all recent system changes.

Uninstall, then, re-install the Home Premium Windows Vista Service Pack 1 associated with Surrogate Host.

Run "sfc/scannow" to scan system files.

Install any available Windows update and make sure each process is completed.

Repairing a system infected with prevhost.exe virus is easy and can be accomplished without the assistance of a technical expert. Granted step-by-step instructions are kept in mind, the problem can be eliminated successfully. However, although the execution of certain procedures can be time-consuming, it is best to allow them to be completed prior to initializing another process.

"APSDaemon.exe" or more commonly known as the "Apple Push" is a Windows executable program. A popular program that uses Apple Push is the iTunes music player. While generally a harmless program, many users have reported problems when they run the program. In some instances, CPU usage is maxed out, causing significant slowdown in running other programs.

You can encounter the error during any of these times:

While running any APSDaemon.exe related program such as iTunes

While installing / uninstalling related programs

When booting your system

Infections caused by malicious files such as viruses may also corrupt the file and cause an error.

Fixing the APSDaemon.exe error

Seeing messages like "APSDamon.exe msvcr80.dll is missing", "has encountered an error" or "bad image" are clear indications that you need to fix the exe file. Here are some steps on how to fix the problem.

Perform a Malware / Virus scan

Many malicious files like "Malware, Trojans, Worms" and viruses are circulated throughout the internet hidden as harmless ".exe" files. It is possible that the error is actually caused by the APSDaemon.exe file being corrupted by malicious software. It is also possible that you are not running the program, but the virus disguised as the exe process.

Check your system for any malicious files by running your antivirus program. Performing a scan may not only fix the error but also reveal other infected files as well. Remove infected programs as soon as possible to prevent errors and possible loss of data.

Perform a Disk Cleanup

Running Disk Cleanup Windows XP/ Vista / 7 / 8:

Click "Start" on your screen or the Start button (that one with the Windows logo) on your keyboard.

You will see the search box on the lower left. Type "cmd" without hitting Enter.

Hold "Ctrl + Shift" and hit "Enter". A dialog box will appear and ask for your confirmation. Click "Yes". You should not skip this step. This will enable you to run in administrator mode. Disk Cleanup will not run if you are not in administrator mode.

You will see the command prompt. Type "cleanmgr".

If your system is partitioned, choose the drive where APSDaemon.exe is located. Usually it is in drive C.

Cleanmgr will now scan your system for items it can clean up. This might take a while, depending on the size of your disk drive. Please be patient.

A dialog box which contains items which can be cleaned up will appear. Check all the items that you want to clean up. (It is advised to check "Temporary Files") and click OK.

The cleaning process may also take time if you selected several items to clean. Again, please be patient.

Clean Registry Files

All the configuration settings of programs in your computer are stored in the Windows Registry. Everything including device drivers, controllers, as well as third party software uses the Registry. Any small corruption in files inside the registry may cause unexpected errors. Several programs referencing the same corrupted file will all exhibit problems. Cleaning and fixing the registry can address some errors, including those that involve APSDaemon.exe.

You can locate the Registry by clicking the Start button on your screen or on your keyboard. Typing "regedit" on the search box and clicking "regedit.exe" will show the Windows Registry window.

As you will see, editing entries, even locating the specific entry that you want to edit can prove to be very difficult. It is usually not recommended for inexperienced users to manually tamper with registry entries. You can simply get a registry cleaner. Using such a program will allow you to address registry problems with ease. And it's a little more forgiving, as most programs backs up your system before it performs any changes.

Uninstall related APSDaemon.exe programs

If you still cannot resolve the error after following any of the methods suggested and you are sure that you are not using any related program, you can simply uninstall the program(s).

To uninstall a program, follow these steps:

1) Click the Start button on screen or the start button in your keyboard.

2) Type "Control Panel" in the search box.

3) Under "Programs" click "Install / Uninstall a Program".

4) Type "Apple" or "APSDaemon" and click the results.

5) Follow the uninstallation instructions onscreen.

6) Reboot your system if necessary.

Remember that it doesn't take a computer expert to keep your system running in its optimal state. All it takes is a little effort.

*********************** ARTICLE START ***********************

"Robocopy" is an executable file that was developed for the Windows Operating System by Adobe and Microsoft Robocopy. This is the kind of file that helps your computer understand what it's supposed to do by giving it step-by-step instructions.

What happens is after you double click on one of the executable files in your PC, the instructions are automatically carried out by the developer of the software to the computer, so that programs can properly run. Basically, every kind of software that you have installed in your computer uses executable files so that you can use them. That said, you probably already know that this error is an indication that malware or viruses have infected your computer in the forms of "EXE" files that are not actually working. You can usually get these files from websites or spam e-mails, and happen upon opening your computer, or while you're trying to use specific applications or functions.

Why it happens

Listed below are the common causes of the errors:

When the executable file and other related programs have been affected by malware or by viruses;

When Microsoft Windows Operating System has not been properly downloaded or installed;

When the file has been accidentally deleted by other programs upon installation, or upon running;

When other programs in your PC do not work well with Robocopy.exe and other parts of it, and most importantly;

When Windows Registry has been corrupted. This is the most common cause of the problem.

Common Error Messages

Meanwhile, here are some of the messages that you will see onscreen, usually while installing a program, in case your computer is experiencing Robocopy error:

This is not a valid "Win32" Application;

Application Error;

Cannot find Robocopy.exe or file not found.

Sorry for the inconvenience. Robocopy.exe encountered a problem and has to close.

Faulting Application Path

Robocopy failed or is not running

How to fix it

Basically, it would be good to repair registry errors and optimize registry, because as mentioned earlier, it's the most common cause of this error. Here's how you can do it:

If you have installed a new Operating System, you might want to revert back to the old one temporarily, because the system may be having problems with your software. Do this before optimizing the registry with the steps mentioned below.

Upon re-installing an earlier version of Windows, make sure to follow the process and do not skip any steps because this would just result to more errors for your PC. Then, make sure that you get to install all updates that are available for Windows to keep your PC safe.

Repair Entries of Registry. To do this, just click the start button, type "command", then press enter while holding "CTRL+SHIFT". Click "Yes", upon seeing the dialog box, then type "Regedit". Select the related keys of Robocopy.exe, such as Microsoft Robocopy, and then choose "Export". Select where you want the files to be saved then click save, and then proceed to importing that file to the current registry.

Make sure to choose which apps you would like to install—do not install every single thing you see! Think about how useful might the app really be for you. If you cannot help yourself, look for files that have portable versions because these will not create any registry folders and will not slow down the registry.

Uninstall Programs Properly. Merely deleting a program and sending it to a recycle bin will not remove it from your system. To uninstall programs the right way, go to the Control Panel, and click the Uninstaller so that the list of programs could pop up and you could choose which you want to uninstall. Don't forget to scan the PC for viruses after.

Defrag the Registry. Defragmentation is essential when you frequently use a computer because as time goes by, you can expect that entries are added to the registry and that loads of information and junk data get left behind even after certain programs are uninstalled.

Defragmentation of the registry is very important. This way, you can be sure that you'll get to access the information that you need, and that information will be organized clearly. What happens after you defrag the registry, aside from the computer, as a whole, is that you can be sure that data that you don't need will be removed from the computer and this way, your PC will run faster.

About The Author: A kernel32.dll repair could also help you maintain the registry and automatically detect and fix errors. The registry is a sensitive component of your system so make sure that you download an optimizer only from a trusted site like http://www.maxutilities.net/en-us/index.html.

"Propsys.dll" is a Windows system file formerly known as the "Windows Desktop search".

A "propsys" error may happen when you see a "propsys.dll is missing" when you boot your system.

Here are some ways to resolve problems with the Propsys.dll file.

Replace the corrupted file

The Propsys error may be caused a corrupt file. One possible solution then, is to get a fresh propsys.dll file. Once you have the working file, simply paste it into the location of the files. In 32-bit systems, you can locate them in the C:/Windows/System32 folder and in C:/Windows/SysWOW64 folder in 64-bit systems.

While this seems like a very simple task, it is still highly not recommended, as there is a big chance to only aggravate the problem, especially if you are not an adept computer user. DLLs may have various versions, and getting the wrong version will not resolve your problem. Malicious files may also be masked as these files. Your system may end up infected and more files may be damaged in the process.

Clean up the Windows Registry

Improper Installation or Uninstallation as well as file damage can cause problems in Windows Registry. When a registry entry is corrupted and a file attempts to references it, this will lead to an error. Checking for Registry errors is highly recommended. However, due to the sensitivity of files on the Windows Registry, it is not advised to manually edit them.

Accessing the Windows Registry:

1) Click the Start button or the Windows button

2) Without hitting enter, type "CMD"

3) Hold "ctrl + shift" before hitting enter. A dialog box, which will ask for your permission, will appear. Click Yes. IMPORTANT: This step cannot be skipped. This will activate administrator mode, and the next steps require you to be in this mode.

4) Type "regedit" on the command prompt.

5) The Registry Editor window should appear

As you will see, the Registry editor is not user friendly at all, and requires a lot of computer repair know-how just to be able to course through the entries. It's best to leave the job to registry cleaner programs.

Scan your system for any harmful files

You may be getting tired of seeing this in every guide and how-to site. But it cannot be stressed enough that malicious files such as malware, viruses and worms are grave threats to any computer system and can cause a multitude of errors. Malicious software can overwrite, corrupt and delete system files. Scan your system for any harmful file and delete them from your computer.

It's best to make checking your system a habit. After all, prevention is better than cure. Make sure that you have updated antivirus software and that it is running at all times, especially when you're browsing the internet. Also, be careful on which sites you visit. High-risk sites like pornographic and illegal download sites may be hosting harmful files.

Use Windows System File Checker

Windows System File Checker is a very handy program that can scan the system for corrupted and damaged files and restore them. If it does find a corrupted system file, it will look for a replacement from the DLL Cache. In the event that the DLL Cache does not have the damaged DLL file or the DLL Cache itself is corrupted, you will need the original Windows disk.

Using System File Checker:

1) Click the Start button on the screen or the Windows key on your keyboard

2) Without hitting enter, type "cmd" on the search box.

3) Hold ctrl + shift and then hit enter. A dialog box, which will ask for your permission, will appear. Click Yes. IMPORTANT: This step cannot be skipped. This will activate administrator mode, and the next steps require you to be in this mode.

4) The command prompt will appear. Type "sfc/scannow" and hit enter.

5) Grab a drink. The system scan might take a while depending on how big your system is.

6) Follow the next instructions in case the scan reveals some errors.

7) Restart your computer for the changes to take effect.

Revert to a past version by using System Restore

If you've only started to encounter the error after you changed a setting or installed something new, then there is a possibility that going back to the previous system setting can resolve your problem. You can "undo" system changes without affecting other files like documents and pictures, by using System Restore.

System Restore uses "restore points" to change system settings back to their previous state. Windows automatically sets up restore points whenever there are big changes to the system, like installing a new program. As of Windows Vista, the option to add restore points manually has been available.

Using System Restore (Works on Windows XP above)

1) Click Start on the screen or hit the Windows key on your keyboard

2) Type "System Restore" in the search box and click System Restore from the list of results.

3) Follow the next instructions specified by the Wizard.

4) You can now restore your computer. A reboot might be needed.

While fixing the error isn't really complicated, it requires the user to be careful, as these system file errors are cumbersome to deal with. It also calls for constant system maintenance. Scanning for malware regularly is a must. Keeping the registry updated is also important. Using a registry cleaner can also help.

*********************** ARTICLE START ***********************

Developed by the Microsoft Windows Operating System, "KBDITT" is a "DLL" file. Just like executable programs, they allow software to function the way that they're supposed to. The only difference is that DLL files only work when they have to, so they really do not need to load right way.

A prime example of this is when you're typing, or you're editing a picture. The only things that would run are the word processors, or the photo editing software. Then, when you decided to print what you have been working on, the DLL file will start working, so that the printer can work well with the computer. In other words, these files are useful because they help you get the job doneóand that's why you have to prevent errors from happening, or in case they are already around, you have to make sure that you get to fix the problem.

Common Causes of Error

The problem with DLL files is that they are sharedóso the chances of their getting corrupted and encountering errors are higher. Software manufacturers have made these files sharable because it could also be beneficial, in terms that the files can be used by various installed programs in the PC, but because of that, problems can occur, too. When the Kbdit.dll file cannot be loaded, some of the functions of the computer may not work well. Listed below are some of the reasons why this problem occurs:

When the dll file has been uninstalled by another program, or when it is corrupted, or has been deleted;

When hardware is already faulty;

When viruses and malware have affected the PC;

When the version of the file that's required by the PC has been over-written, and;

When the registry entry for the file is corrupt or invalid.

If you are experiencing any of the following, chances are your computer is already affected by this error.

Common Error Messages

Here are the messages you'll see onscreen while installing a program. If you see any of these, it's high time to determine the root cause and fix the problem.

The kbditt.dll file is "missing" or "not found"

Cannot register kbditt.dll

Application failed to start. Re-installing the application may fix the problem

Cannot start "MSDN" Development Platform

A required component is missing

Access Violation

Cannot find "C:\Windows\System32\Kbditt.dll"

How to fix it

When the problem is with this particular dll file is the problem, it would be best to optimize the registry. Here's what you have to do:

First, register Kdbitt.dll manually. Type regsrvr32/u_kbditt on the command bar in the start menu. Upon doing so, your file will be unregistered. Do not panic because it's really just part of the process.

Type "regsrvr32/i_kbditt" and hit enter for your file to be re-registered and then close the command. Open the program that you were trying to use earlier once more.

Then, open Recycle Bin and Remove or Restore the dll file. Search for the said file in the upper right hand corner of the bin then move it to the "Windows\System32" Folder upon finding it. Restart the PC after doing this process.

Clean the Registry. Click "start" in the Repair Registry Problems category in the Individual Tools pane of System Mechanic. You can choose automatic clean-up, or see a list and check for what you want to be uninstalled.

Reinstall MSDN Development Platform for Windows. To do this, click "Programs and Features" from the Control Panel in the Start Menu and look for MSDN Development Program, click uninstall, and follow the instructions for re-installation.

Memory Defragmentation. Go to the Individual Tools pane then click "Defragment Memory" from the Start Menu. After 20 seconds, he PC will have already refreshed and relocated memory so your PC will work faster.

Compact the Registry. Upon checking "Defragment and Compact Registry" from the Individual Tools pane, you'll get to see a list of entries in the registry. Schedule when you would like to defrag the registry and make sure to re-start your computer after typing the necessary information.

Defrag Hard Drives. This is crucial because if your hard drives are already faulty, you really cannot expect your PC to work the right way anymore. It would be best to do this overnight so you would not lose patience in waiting for the process to end. Make sure to configure time for booting and defragmentation. This way, even files that cannot seem to be deleted or files that seem to be unmovable will be gone from the system already.

While you can do all of the tips above yourself, you could also use a PC optimizer to perform the steps and fix the errors automatically.

"XPS" viewer is Windows's version of PDF file format. It presents a similar set of functions like that of a PDF file. It provides a structured layout and also allows digital signatures. The process that invokes the XPS viewer is xpsrchvw.exe.

Fixing the xpsrchvm.exe error

While potentially harmless, some users encounter crashes brought by errors related to this exe file. Here are some ways to fix those errors.

Reinstall "xpsrchvw.exe"

Using your Windows CD, you can simply re-install xpsrchvw.exe to replace the corrupted one in your system.

To reinstall using your CD, simply follow these instructions:

For Windows 7 / Vista:

1) Click "Start"

2) Type "Programs and Features" on the search box. You should see it appear on the results. Click it.

3) The Programs and Features window should open. Type "xprschvw.exe" or "XPS Viewer" on the search box on the upper right corner of the window. Click the result.

4) Click "Uninstall" to perform uninstallation.

5) Simply follow the next instructions on the screen.

6) Reboot your computer if necessary.

2) Click Programs and Features.

3) Type "xpsrchvw.exe" or "XPS viewer" on the search box.

4) Click on the result that will appear. This should be the program related to your the error.

5) Click "Uninstall / Change ".

6) Follow any more instructions that you will see on your screen.

7) Reboot your system if necessary.

Update your System

If pinpointing the specific file that you need to update feels too cumbersome for you, an alternative is to update the entirety of your Windows System. This way all OS-related files will be updated.

To check and perform Windows updates, follow these steps:

1) Click "Start" or the start button (button with the windows logo) on your keyboard.

2) Type "Update" on the search box.

3) The Windows update window should appear. It will search if there are any available updates.

4) Apply any system updates if any.

Perform a full system scan for "Malware and Viruses"

Malicious software such as "Trojans, Malware, Worms and Viruses" can hide themselves as harmless ".exe" files. You can get a virus by carelessly downloading files and visiting potentially harmful (like pornography sites).

These malicious files can slow down your system drastically and worse, can wipe out important data. Make sure that your system is clean by regularly performing system scans.

Run Windows System File Checker

The Windows System File Checker is a program that can locate and restore corruptions in your system.

To launch the File Checker, follow these steps:

For Windows XP / Vista / 7 / 8:

1) Click Start or the Window button.

2) Type "cmd" in the search box.

3) Hold "ctrl + shift" before hitting ENTER. A dialog box asking for your permission will appear. Click "Yes". Do not skip this step. The process requires you to be an administrator to launch the scan.

4) The command prompt should appear.

5) Type "sfc/scannow". No spaces should be in between the / and the words.

6) It should begin scanning your system. The amount of time it will take depends on the size of your hard disk. It will take a while. Be patient as it does the scan.

7) Follow the following commands on-screen.

8) Reboot your computer if necessary.

Clean your System Registry

Corrupted files in the System Registry can cause errors with this exe file as well. Many programs may be using the same file, therefore, if they reference the same corrupted file, problems will arise in these programs. Fixing registry entries is an effective way to deal with system errors.

However, it is not advised for inexperienced users to tamper with the Registry. Many sensitive files rest in this location, files which many programs use. A simple mistake may cause irreversible errors in your computer. Unless you are very sure about your computer know-how, use a registry cleaner program instead.

Preventing xpsrchvw.exe errors

Many malicious files are distributed throughout the internet disguised as harmless .exe files. Be careful when downloading files, and visit only safe sites.

Constantly checking your system for updates and cleaning your system registry can also prevent the xpsrchvw.exe error. If the process looks difficult for you, you can download a free disk cleaner.

Like many, you're searching for the answer to one important question – what is "igdkmd64.sys"? Simply put, it is a type of system file associated with Windows 8 Pro and is developed by the Microsoft Corporation. The most recent version of this file is igdkmd64.sys. Of course, knowing those isn't much help. After all, you're not just curious as to what the file is. You're trying to fix an error associated with it. Read on to find the solution you're looking for.

A system file is a third-party file or a device driver that's an integral part of Windows. System files usually let both external and internal hardware, such as printers and "PCI" cards, to communicate with operating systems and third-party software programs, such as word processors and web browsers.

System files classified as kernel mode device drivers are critical system files and are used to run the Operating System. "Config.sys" files, on the other hand, contain configuration settings that specify which device drivers have to be loaded by the operating system. If there are no driver files, it would not be possible for you to complete simple tasks using your PC.

Then again, you may encounter errors if you have corrupt device driver files or faulty hardware. Keep in mind that "sys" files are very important in Windows. Hence, any damage or corruption to these can result in critical system errors. You can expect to see the blue screen of death when such files get damaged or corrupted. You may also see it after you install new software or hardware.

The blue screen of death can also appear while you install a program, run a software program related to "igdkmd64", load a Microsoft driver, or start or shut down Windows. You should take note where and when you see "stop" errors so you can easily troubleshoot the problem.

System file errors typically occur during program startup and computer startup. They may also occur when you try to use certain functions in your program, such as printing. Aside from the blue screen of death, which is also referred to as "BSOD" and "STOP error", you may also see these error messages on Windows XP, Vista, 7, or 8:

"STOP 0x0000000A: IRQL_NOT_LESS_EQUAL – igdkmd64.sys"

"STOP 0x00000050: PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA – igdkmd64.sys"

"STOP 0x0000000A: IRQL_NOT_LESS_EQUAL – igdkmd64.sys"

"Driver_irql_not_less_or_equal" errors are very common. Likewise, you may see these error messages on your screen:

A problem has been detected and Windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer

Your computer ran into a problem, needs to restart.

Both error messages will prompt you to find more information about igdkmd64.

What are the common causes of these errors? Well, an error can be caused by firmware, hardware, software, and driver issues related to Windows 8. They can also occur if your device drivers are old, corrupted, or not configured properly.

If your hard disk is damaged or your memory (RAM) is corrupted, you may see the blue screen of death. Error messages may also show up if your registry got corrupted due to a recent change in software. For instance, you may have recently installed or uninstalled a program that requires igdkmd64. Moreover, you can encounter the error if viruses have infected your igdkmd64.sys file or any related Windows 8 files.

When you are ready to troubleshoot, make sure that you follow these steps in the right order:

First, you should update your device drivers. Next, you should repair any registry entries associated with Windows 8. After that, you need to conduct a complete malware scan of your computer. Then, you should undo any changes you have done on your PC recently. You could do this through the command prompt – simply key in rstrui.exe and press enter.

Once you have done all these steps, you can uninstall any program associated with igdkmd64.sys or Windows 8, particularly the one you've installed recently. Now, on the command prompt, type "sfc/scannow," and install all your Windows updates. See if your hard drive is corrupted by typing "chkdsk/f." Don't forget to check if your PC's memory module is still working perfectly.

If doing all those didn't solve the problem, you could also perform a clean installation of your OS. That could put an end to most software issues. Hardware problems, on the other hand, will most likely remain. In other words, if the issue stems from corrupted drives or memory modules, you'll have to invest in new ones.

Fixing the error isn't really difficult, but it does take time. So, instead of looking for even more information on system files and the problems associated with them, it'd be best to simply start following the steps above.

Surely, most, if not, all of us have experienced a system crash at least once in our life. As soon as we reboot the computer again, automatically we are asked if we want to send an error report to the Windows website. This is the Windows Error Reporting Service at work.

The process that invokes the reporting service is "wermgr.exe". It also does the job of keeping system configuration logs whenever any process has to abruptly close, or worse, if the system crashes. It then displays a message containing the logs and then sends a report to Microsoft.

While inherently a useful tool, many users complain that it slows down the computer drastically. This is because the wermgr.exe process runs when the computer is already having trouble with resources because of certain programs behaving abnormally. On top of this, it can also end up using a lot of memory because it must file formal reports regarding the errors encountered by your system.

Fixing the wermgr.exe error

Seeing errors like "wermgr.exe application error" and "not found", are indicative of a problem with the file and its related programs, and warrant a system fix. Here, we present solutions to problems with the error.

Disabling wermgr.exe

One way to prevent getting error messages related to this file is to disable the Windows Error Reporting service.

To disable Windows Error Reporting service, simply follow these steps:

In Windows Vista and Windows 7:

1) Click Start. In the search box, type: "services.msc".

2) Look for "Windows Error Reporting" in the items listed.

3) Double click the entry and click "Stop" if it is running.

4) From the options in "Startup Type", choose "Disabled".

5) Restart your system.

In Windows XP:

1) Click Start and look for Control Panel.

2) Look for "Performance and Maintenance" and click it.

3) Click "System".

4) Click "Advanced" on System Properties.

5) A new window will appear. Find and click "Error and Reporting".

6) Select "Disable Error Reporting" and click OK.

7) Restart your system.

But, what will happen if your system encounters a crash in the future? You cannot report them to Windows, at least not as conveniently as with the Windows Error Reporting software.

This is but a stopgap measure and is highly not recommended.

Perform a Virus and Malware Scan

EXE files are versatile files that can be found just about anywhere. That makes it an ideal vessel for malicious programs such as "Spyware, Trojans, Malware" and worms. Carelessly downloading files from the internet can get you a virus. Also, surfing virus-prone sites such as pornographic sites may result in your system getting infected.

There is actually a possibility that it's not wermgr.exe that is running but a virus in disguise. If your system is infected, it may trigger a program than can corrupt files, leading to system errors. Your system is also at risk of losing important data when it is suffering from a virus attack.

Use Disk Cleanup

Running Disk Cleanup (Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8)

1) Click Start

2) Enter "CMD" in the search box.

3) Before hitting enter, hold "ctrl+shift". A prompt that will ask for your permission will appear. Click Yes.

4) The command prompt will appear. Type "cleanmgr" and hit enter.

5) If your drive is partitioned, it will ask you which drive to clean. Choose where the exe file is located.

6) Wait for Disk Cleanup to calculate the space it can free from your system. The bigger your drive, the longer it will take. Please be patient.

7) Check "Temporary Files" and any other items that you want clean up.

8) Click Ok.

Clean the System Registry

Windows Registry stores program configuration such as program dependencies and references. Pretty much everything makes use of the registry – from controllers, to outside programs and even the system kernel. A simple error or corrupted file can cause problems for many files, especially if they are programs which share the same file.

It is good to develop the habit of constantly checking for problems in Windows Registry.

You can locate Windows Registry by typing "regedit" in the search box in the Start button. You can see from the Windows Registry window that it may be quite difficult to locate the file and its related programs by yourself. Windows Registry files are also very sensitive. A simple mistake can aggravate the problems you already have.

The good news is, there are many free registry cleaner programs available online. Most registry cleaner programs back up the system before performing any change so it's ok to make some mistakes.

*********************** ARTICLE START ***********************

Dynamic link library files, like Accessibility.dll, are comparable to executable files. These components allow multi-application sharing of specific functions for which they are developed. Being a component shared across different programs, it's common for people to experience problems with "Accessibility.dll". In particular, errors associated with it may cause certain functions to fail. Fortunately, fixing these issues is possible – just do the following:

Find a Compatible Version

This DLL file fails to load properly because of incompatibility with numerous programs that need to use it for their own operation. Users can easily download a fresh copy of the file from reliable websites and save it as replacement for the older, incompatible version.

After downloading the replacement file, go to the Windows folder within your computer's main drive or where your operating system is installed. Locate the System32 folder and the problematic "DLL". Rename it for now for the pasting process to go through. Copy and paste the new DLL file into the same folder.

Go to the Start menu and click Run then type "cmd". Hit enter and it will direct you to the command prompt box. For newer Windows versions, like Windows 7, simply type "cmd" on the embedded Search box on the Start menu. Right click on the command prompt icon and choose "Run as Administrator". Type "regsvr32 Accessibility.dll" in the command prompt and hit Enter. A pop up may appear. Click OK to complete the process.

Register the File Manually

Apart from missing files, registration failure is also another common issue experienced with this component. Fortunately, users can register this file manually by doing these steps:

First, access the command prompt using the same procedure. Type "regsvr32 /u Accessibility.dll" in the command prompt and hit Enter to unregister your current DLL file. Now, type "regsvr32 /i Accessibility.dll" then press Enter to register the file manually. Close the command prompt and run the program that you want and wait if the error message will pop up. Restarting your computer after this procedure may also be helpful in refreshing the system and applying the new configuration.

System Restore

Newly installed programs may prevent other applications from accessing the DLL file due to cross-program incompatibilities. System restore may solve the problem as it will remove newly installed programs and components; it will restore the computer to its original state, or before changes were applied. These are the steps in doing a system restore:

On the Start menu's search box, type "rstrui.exe". Now, choose the restore point where the conflict-causing program hasn't been installed yet. Wait for the process to finish. Follow the instructions and restart the computer if asked to do so. Use your computer and observe if error messages still show up.

Update Drivers

Outdated drivers can also cause incompatibilities, especially after you've updated the DLL. So, all you have to do to fix this kind of problem is download the latest drivers for your hardware then install them.

Scan Computer for Malwares

Virus or malware can trigger issues related to the Accessibility file. Malicious programs can delete or create multiple copies of specific files, resulting to inconsistencies. Scan your computer to double check if such applications are lurking inside the system and causing DLL issues.

Fix Registry Errors

DLL files are connected to the computer's registry system. Uninstalling programs that use this DLL file hinder other software from accessing the same file due to orphaned or disconnected paths; this can trigger the error.

Fixing the registry to restore orphaned entries requires the use of the computer command called "regedit". However, this is only recommended for experienced or advanced computer users. Regedit is a sensitive function. Hence, more problems may arise if it's incorrectly used.

Exporting and rebuilding orphaned connections will solve the issue; but if you're not confident in your skills, better leave this procedure out and continue with the next.

Reinstall Operating System

Reinstalling the OS will certainly fix issues related to DLLs. Nevertheless, this should be the last resort due to the inconvenience associated with backing up files and contacts; but in case none of the solutions above worked, back up all your needed documents and format your hard drive to clear out conflicting files. Reinstall the operating system then the other programs

Truth on Troubleshooting

All in all, DLL issues, such as those involving the Accessibility file, are repairable using manual solutions and procedures, which will take several minutes to an hour to accomplish. So, as long as you have enough time on your hands, you'll probably be able to fix your PC.

*********************** ARTICLE START ***********************

A lot of people get the wrong idea when they encounter the words "winload.exe." They would immediately think that it's a virus, spyware, or worm. Well, that could be the case, but only if you find it outside the system32 folder. "Winload" actually functions as an operating system loader. Winload was first introduced in Vista. Today, the executable can be found in 7, 8, and 8.1.

So, what exactly happens when there's a Winload error? Here are some that you might encounter:

Cannot start the CPU or central processing unit of your computer

Boot up failure

On the recovery screen (with background colors such as black, blue or grey), there would be a pop-up message

While in the middle of a process, the system crashes and freezes

Digital signatures cannot be verified

As you probably know, error codes appear alongside PC troubles. To satisfy your code curiosity, here are some examples:

Winload.exe missing or corrupt

Winload.exe error windows 7

Winload.exe missing vista

Winload.exe boot error

Winload.exe missing

Failure to boot

Failure to start

Failure to load

What causes the infamous Winload.exe error? The primary reason is a missing or corrupted Winload file. Why does it disappear or get corrupted? It could be because of the following:

Presence of virus or malware

Faulty Random Access Memory or RAM of the computer

Outdated software

Incorrectly installed software

Incorrectly updated software

Problem in the security system features

Preventive Measures

As with all things, prevention is better than cure. Avoid having these problems by doing the following:

Take good care of your computer. Maintain it properly and regularly. According to computer technicians, lack of proper computer maintenance is among the most common reasons why Winload errors take place.

Update the computer as often as necessary. Make sure that the antivirus is updated at all times.

Be careful when removing or installing programs. Programs that are not fully uninstalled can corrupt registry keys. On the other hand, some applications end up deleting important executables when installed.

Sometimes though, even the most careful computer owners and users still encounter crashes and errors. How can these be resolved?

The most important thing to do is to assess the cause of the error. This is the key to remedy the problem. For instance, if the cause is a virus, then you need to scan the whole system with your antivirus software.

If the Windows installation was not properly done, then just insert your Windows Installation disc. Restart your computer. Follow the dialog boxes and when asked what to do, click "repair your computer". Wait for the procedure to be completed. When done, restart the computer and check the results.

Using the same installation disc, you could also continue until you reach the system recovery option then simply key in "bootrec" or "rebuildbcd." The program will run by itself and you just have to wait until it finishes. Again, after the procedure, shut down the computer and then restart it.

If you do not have the installation disc anymore for some reason, or if the computer did not come with the disc originally, there's still a way to solve the issue. First, check the version of your PC's OS (is it XP, Vista, 7 or 8?); then, do a full system recovery to replace every vital component of the operating system. That's a fairly automated process. All you have to do is click on a few buttons and wait.

Doing a system file check is a potentially quicker way to fix the error. This would cause all the corrupted files to be replaced with working versions.

You could also try to repair the registry, since errors are sometimes caused by corrupted registry keys. However, this is only recommended if you are an expert in doing registry repairs. Otherwise, you might cause more harm than good, especially if you end up removing properly functional registry entries.

Ready to Troubleshoot

At this point, you're more than knowledgeable about Winload issues. So, you should be able to fix your PC without spending anything. However, if you've tried all possible solutions and your computer still has problems, you shouldn't hesitate to have it repaired by a trustworthy technician.

"RpcRtRemote.dll" initializes Windows update components. So, why are people having problems with this file if it serves a very simple purpose? If the computer couldn't access it, it'd be impossible to complete the installation of update packages. Of course, not updating a PC's OS is the same as keeping it vulnerable to attacks.

What exactly happens when the error is triggered? Simply put, you'll see the "BSOD". The error message that would appear on the computer screen goes like this, "C:\Windows\System 32RpcRtRemote.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error". You'll also be told to contact the software vendor for technical support.

Do keep in mind that there are other error messages associated with the DLL file, such as:

RpcRtRemote.dll not found

There is access violation of RpcRtRemote.dll

The file RpcRtRemote.dll cannot be located

Causes of the troublesome "RpcRtRemote" error

DLL files are not necessarily stored in a protected folder. This is why they're often associated with software troubles, specifically errors involving missing or corrupted files. Still, that's not the only reason why many have problems with RpcRtRemote. Here are some other things that trigger the issue:

By choosing to halt the virus scan, malicious programs remain undetected and eventually corrupt the files.

It's not that unlikely for errors to stem from invalid registry entries. Broken associations with DLL files could also be the culprit.

Sometimes, programs overwrite (or even delete) the RpcRtRemote file.

Failure of the user to properly shut down the computer Sometimes, when they're in a rush, people don't want to wait for programs to properly close; they simply press the power button. This makes the computer susceptible to all sorts of issues, including virus attacks.

The antivirus scan is not updated

Problems in the Windows registry

Problem in the hardware

Installation of programs

Many claim that hackers could use RpcRtRemote errors to cause trouble. Through those, they could gain access to important documents in the computer, compromising the user in more ways than one. So, it's really important to quickly fix errors linked with the DLL.

Here's something you should know though – doing disk or system-file checks probably won't solve the problem. These troubleshooting techniques only work if the concern lies in corrupted files. As you already realized, file corruption isn't always the issue.

What to do then?

You could download tools that specifically resolve DLL errors. Some of these programs also clean the registry, remove junk files, boost startup speed, and improve the PC's overall performance. Plus, using such applications is very easy. There are even those that work automatically. Even newbies would be able to use such programs.

There are computer experts who also recommend doing the following:

Immediately run a virus scan on the entire system. This is to ensure that your files are protected from viruses, worms, and spyware.

Locate the RpcRtRemote file. You could simply type "RpcRtRemote.dll" on the search box and Windows would do its work. Once the file has been found, you should select it then delete it. Afterwards, replace it with a working copy.

Another option is to stop RpcRtRemote. Press the following keys together – "CTRL+ALT+DEL". You could also hit "CTRL+SHIFT+ESC" as an alternative. A window will pop up and you'll see a list of running processes. You should select the RpcRtRemote.dll process then just click on the End Process button.

If doing any of these didn't solve the issue, you may consider reinstalling the entire OS. There's no need to reformat your drive though, as it'd be more than enough to simply overwrite the current installation. To do that, insert the installation disc during boot and follow the instructions you see on the computer screen.

Truth be told, this fix is only suited for those who have adequate knowledge in troubleshooting computers. Newbies may end up having a tough time understanding the things that appear during OS installation. Making a mistake during installation could cause even bigger issues.

Pointers to Remember

Avoid having this problem by making sure that you properly shut down the computer every time. Keep your antivirus updated and be careful when installing new programs that may overwrite or remove the RpcRtRemote file. Simply put, prevention is vital in avoiding most computer troubles.

*********************** ARTICLE START ***********************

"Mshtml.dll" enables browsers to analyze and use HTML and Cascading Style Sheets or CSS. So, when browsers fail to find that particular file, they end up crashing. If you've been facing PC problems and you think they're related to the DLL file, you really need to read this article.

Here's one important question that needs to be answered right away – what's the best way of knowing for sure that you're facing "Mshtml" errors? If you see any of these messages on your computer screen, your hunch is right:

The DLL file is not found.

The path to mshtml.dll cannot be found.

Mshtml.dll is missing. Please install again.

Reinstall Mshtml.dll to fix the problem.

Mshtml.dll is either not designed to run on Windows.

Mshtml.dll location is not found.

What are these errors? How can they be remedied? To find the answers to those questions, you'll have to learn more about computer crashes.

Causes of the crash

An mshtml crash could be caused by the following:

The file was corrupted by malicious programs

The file was accidentally removed or mistakenly deleted by the user

There is a hardware failure

Initial Response to the Crash

In the event of a crash, do not panic. Your PC can be fixed. Try to assess what happened prior to the crash. Were you deleting files or cleaning your computer when the error occurred? Were you installing a new program? Were you simply running applications when it happened? Based on your answers to these questions, pick the right troubleshooting techniques from this list:

Many end up facing the error because they accidentally delete the DLL file. If you think you've deleted it, the first thing you can do is retrieve it from the Recycle Bin. If you have also emptied your Recycle Bin, you can still recover the file by using a free file recovery program.

Here's something you need to know though – recovering a corrupted DLL and putting it back in the system folder could lead to much greater problems (your PC might no longer boot to Windows). So, only try this troubleshooting method if you're completely certain that the file's in perfect condition when you accidentally deleted it.

If you suspect that the issue is being triggered by malicious programs, immediately scan your entire system for viruses and malware. Do keep in mind though, that not all antivirus applications are made by reputable developers.

If the system crashed while changes were being made to important settings, you could try doing a system restore.

The error could also be caused by a faulty hardware device driver update. In this case, the best thing to do is revert to the previously-installed version of the driver, meaning you'll have to uninstall the latest driver and reinstall the old one.

On the other hand, there would be instances when you would need to do an update to remedy the problem. There's no need to choose a specific Windows update, as most update packs come with all kinds of DLL files.

Initialize a system file check to restore the missing or corrupted file.

Perform a startup repair if the suggestions above fail to fix the issue. By doing this, you'll be certain that all DLLs in your computer are brought back to their perfectly working state.

If doing that didn't resolve the problem, you might need to focus on your PC's registry. Simply download, install, then run a registry-cleanup tool to sort out all registry conflicts.

As a last resort, do a clean install of your preferred OS. Take note, however, that all your files would be erased in the process. If you are willing to take this risk, then proceed.

If you're still seeing error pop-ups, it's likely that the problem is hardware related. In other words, your PC's mshtml file is perfectly fine, but one of its physical components isn't. Unless you have another computer lying around in your home, you probably won't be able to troubleshoot hardware concerns. In short, you'll have to bring your computer to a technician.

Solving software-related mshtml errors isn't impossible even for those who aren't tech gurus. Fixing hardware issues, on the other hand, is best left to the experts. Simply put, do not lose your enthusiasm to resolve the problem, but know when to call for help.

"Aclui.dll" is just one of the many DLL files loaded in your computer. It is a shared component among different hardware or applications. At some point, you may experience issues on your computer due to missing DLL files, such as "Aclui". Fortunately, various workarounds are available in solving this issue, like the following:

Check Recycle Bin

Many users tend to explore and clean their system folders like "System32" manually. However, they tend to forget that many of these files are necessary even though they don't seem to have any purpose. They tend to delete these files and as a result, DLL errors emerge.

In case you've deleted the files manually, you can restore them through the Recycle Bin. Look inside the Recycle Bin, which is often located on the Desktop. If you see the missing file, right click on it and select Restore. Usually, the file will be moved back to its original location, which is System32.

Load Safe Mode

Safe Mode can be used in diagnosing errors and pinpointing their causes. Aclui errors may appear due to conflicts with newly installed programs. In most cases, deactivating these programs can solve the problem, especially if they are not that necessary for your computer's operations. Safe Mode limits the number of files and programs that load during startup.

To log-on to Safe Mode, reboot your computer and press F10 or F8 immediately after the motherboard's splash screen appears. This will show a list of boot options. Just select "Safe Mode with Networking" or "Safe Mode with Command Prompt". You can also choose Safe Mode alone, but it won't allow you to access the internet or the command prompt.

Now, run the program that showed the error and see if it will load without problems. If it loads fine, then there's a chance that one of your startup programs or drivers caused the issue. You can deactivate these drivers to put an end to DLL issues.

Look for a Replacement File

"DLL" files fail to load because they can be corrupted. One of the fastest ways of solving this issue is by downloading a replacement file. Websites that offer DLL downloads are widely available.

Scan Computer for Malware

Having this DLL issue doesn't necessarily mean that the Aclui file is the culprit. The error can also be triggered by virus disguising itself as one of the system files, like in the case of "winlogon.exe". Scanning your computer to know if virus files are present will help keep this problem from occurring.

Update or Roll Back Drivers

Since DLL files are shared by programs to run different hardware, there's a big chance that outdated or updated drivers are causing the issue. Roll back a driver and see if it will solve the issue. Rolling back a driver means restoring it to its previous version. In some cases, the driver may also need updating to be compatible with the file. Update the driver by looking for its newer version online.

Fix or Clean Registry

Registry issues left after uninstalling specific programs or hardware also trigger this issue. Fortunately, fixing the problem is easy; you'll only have to rebuild the registry connections between this file, the programs, and the hardware. Running a registry cleaner will also be helpful since it will remove traces of invalid paths that lead to broken connection.

Install Operating System Updates

Most of DLL problems are caused by uninstalled OS updates. The good thing about resolving such concerns is that regular updates come with numerous new components that can be useful in the future. To update your PC, key in "Windows Update" on the Search Box. If your computer isn't set to download updates automatically, click "Check for Updates" on the left side of the window and you'll see a list of available updates labeled according to importance. Install these updates as they may solve the issue.

Reinstall the Operating System

When everything else fails, reinstalling the operating system is the next best solution to this problem. You can easily reinstall the operating system using the Windows setup disk that came with your PC. Back up your needed files then format computer. Reinstall the operating system by following the instructions shown on your computer screen.

Ready to Troubleshoot

Overall, DLL issues can be problematic, especially since these affect both hardware and software. With these tips, you can solve the issue in no time; you might even be able to keep your computer running perfectly.

Blue screen triggered by "adpu320.sys" problems can be worrisome since the blue screen of death is often associated with a completely corrupted operating system, which calls for immediate OS reinstallation. Truth be told, reinstalling the OS isn't the only option. Read on to learn more.

Getting to Know SYS Files

"SYS" files are known to work with third-party device drivers. "Adpu320" is related to hardware used in controlling and configuring "RAID" adapters and channel buses installed in the computer. Fortunately, several procedures can fix this error, such as:

Know if this File is Causing the Error

BSOD errors have numerous causes. They're brought about by conflicting system and program files, corrupted files, or problematic paths. Hence, solving BSOD issues properly means knowing its cause.

Most people are unaware that crucial information can be found at the bottom part of the BSOD. Look past the confusing alphanumeric notes and focus on short word sets with ".exe, .sys or .dll" extension names. If you see adpu320.sys at the bottom part of the screen, it means that it's the file triggering the inconsistency in the system that results to blue screen errors.

Take Advantage of Safe Mode

After seeing the problem, try loading your computer in Safe Mode. There's a chance that several programs and processes running in the background triggered the error.

Load Safe Mode by pressing F8 or F10 continuously after the motherboard's splash screen appears on the display. Select one of the Safe Mode choices, preferably the one with Command Prompt access for additional flexibility in troubleshooting.

Use the computer and see if it will display the same blue screen error. If not, there's a high chance that one of the programs loading on startup is causing the issue. All you have to do now is keep these programs from activating.

All about Trial and Error

It really is possible to disable several programs or processes that automatically run during startup. If the error appears upon loading the operating system, then you should disable start up programs and services. To do that, type "msconfig" on the Windows 7 start menu search bar. Click on the result and see the Startup and Services tab.

In the Services tab, tick "Hide all Microsoft Services" so the only ones that will appear are services related to other programs. Click Disable All. Do the same for entries under Start Up tab. Click Apply then OK. It will prompt you to restart your computer. Restart and see if your system will still have the blue screen error. If not, it means that the conflicting program has been deactivated. Enable programs and services one at a time until the error appears again.

Upon finding that program, you can opt to uninstall it manually.

Replacing Corrupted File

In most cases, "BSOD" problems can be solved by replacing the corrupted adpu320 file. There are lots of sites that offer it for download, but it's recommended to download the file from the developer's website. Search for the developer associated with this file and check for an updated version.

Do Start Up Repair

Startup Repair can fix the issue, especially if you immediately see the blue screen error upon booting the computer. Shut down your computer and restart again. Since the computer fails to shut down properly, it will show the "Startup Repair" option, giving you the chance to solve potential issues. Select "Start Up repair" and see if the problem will resolve after completing this task.

Check Disk for Possible Corruption

Since adpu320.sys works with channel bus controllers in hard drives, there's a probability that this error is due to a failing hard drive. To check the disk, open Command Prompt by typing "cmd" in the Start Search bar. Right click and select "Run as Administrator" to have complete access on its function.

When the black box pops up, type "chkdsk /f" and hit Enter. It will scan the hard drive for possible bad sectors, which might be causing SYS file issues. Follow the instructions and see the report if there are bad sectors in the disk. Impending hard drive corruption means the need to replace your hard drive before it becomes busted.

A Very Solvable Concern

Adpu320.sys errors do not have to be stressful because such problems can be fixed. As you realized while reading this article, all you have to do is follow a few simple steps.
