The Labor Day holiday will soon be upon us. So, if you are looking to take a 1-day Grand Canyon float tour, it's best that you book it as soon as you decide you want to do it.
Long Weekend
If it's not marked on your calendar yet, Labor Day is on Monday, Sept. 2, this year. This means that for most of us it's going to be a three-day holiday (yeah!). It's also one of the busiest times of the year at the National Park.
Considering this, I'm recommending that travelers go out and purchase their rafting tours at least a week in advance. If you have to push it, try to book within 72 hours of departure.
Just because it's "high season" doesn't mean you can't find great deals on these rafting day trips. In fact, based on what I've seen on the Internet lately, I'm finding deals that knock the retail price down 20 percent.
Buy Direct
How so? First, I'm staying away from the "big box" travel websites. Instead, I go direct to the actual suppliers of travel. These are the businesses that are in the best position to offer real promotions, specials and deals.
One-day float tours depart from Las Vegas, NV, and Tusayan, AZ, which is also referred to as the gateway to the National Park. Trips typically depart early in the morning around 7 am and require a full day to complete.
The Las Vegas trip starts with a helicopter ride to the bottom of the West Rim. There you'll deplane and explore the base for up to half an hour. Then you'll connect with the bus that will take you to the base of Hoover Dam where the 11-mile float trip makes its way downstream to Willow Beach.
South Rim
There are two South Rim float tours. The first is bus/raft. By bus, you go to the base of Glen Canyon Dam, board a 19-seat river raft and cruise 15 miles to Lee's Ferry, a ghost town that used to be the only place to the Colorado for hundreds of miles.
The other tour kicks off with an airplane ride to Page, AZ, then a Jeep tour of Antelope Canyon, home to the famous Slot Canyons. From there you drive to the Dam and begin the rafting segment of your adventure.
Both the bus/raft and this trip conclude with a bus ride back to the South Rim.
These Labor Day rafting tours are all-inclusive and come with professional guide service, all taxes and fees, lunch and gear. I do recommend packing a hat, sunscreen, snacks, water, long-sleeved shirt and sunglasses. Wearing shorts that you don't mind getting wet is a good idea, too, as well as a pair of river sandals or running shoes.
No White Water
Please note that there are no white water rapids on these float trips. The benefit of this is kids as young as 4 years of age can take these trips. These rafting adventures are also great for groups, families and active seniors. Frankly, I love how versatile these day trips are and I'm in now way surprised how popular they are with travelers.

There is much reported about the long-term effects of stress and yet for many people, they are living under extraordinary pressures and have no easy way seemingly to ease the pressures. Unfortunately in the current financial climate where people have to work harder, taking on extra jobs and having to juggle home and family life, pressures escalate. Stress is not a bad thing per se as it is a warning light to indicate that things are becoming too much but, the problems occur when these warning signs are ignored. The long term effects of stress are bad and can have a very negative impact on health.
Author Frenee Dellosa states in her book, 'Free Your Mind Right Now', 'If left unchecked, stress can turn into a chronic condition that results in significant and negative consequences to our health.' She is right. The decline in health can take many forms including fatigue, immune deficiencies, heart disease, anxiety and depression to name but a few. Often people are unaware of just how bad things are and they just keep going, resolute and determined to not give in. As a nurse, Frenee was only too aware of the physical and emotional impact of stressful events and she was convinced that some of these conditions could have been avoided.
Unfortunately, many people opt for the 'bury their head in the sand' approach to managing their lives, which might work for a short period but, those stresses and increased pressures start to turn inwards. It is a difficult time for people. Times are hard and this approach is often taken out of frustration and an inability to cope with life in general.
When you think about the relief you feel generally when you have faced up to and solved a problem that has been nagging away at you, this is just one aspect towards successful stress management. Hiding from problems has the opposite effect. They compound and they muddy the waters of clear thinking.
Frenee's own sister almost died following a stroke at the age of 36, she was convinced that her sister was unable to cope with the increasing pressures of life. Luckily she recovered although the rehabilitation was grueling. Frenee is keen to get the message across to others, she states, 'This is why I feel strongly about managing our stressors. If we take care of our stressors, this will prevent the catastrophic illnesses that can result if left unchecked.'
Learning to free the mind is so important especially if it is impossible to eradicate certain stressors. There has to be a switch off valve that can be utilized and to incorporate general relaxation techniques where letting go of tension is the primary goal. Learning to relax the body is wonderful and vital to help combat feelings of stress and using breathing techniques will also help to start stilling the mind. Meditation techniques can then be utilized to help eradicate the bombardment of thoughts and this will enable anyone with regular practice to be able to obtain greater peace of mind and a healthier body. It is not difficult to learn but can provide a much needed and positive step forward to a much healthier way of living.

Learning to free up your mind and gaining control of this crazy world where we juggle life constantly may sound easy but if so, why don't we all do it? Many of us remain fraught with tension and lose out on our ability to simply rest and recuperate. People seem generally burdened with problems, never quite managing to shrug them off and inner peace can be frustratingly elusive. These problems remain in the conscious or sub-conscious mind and can cause health issues from the inside out. Stress is a common denominator in this day and age and the negative impacts are far-reaching. Emotional and physical health can be affected.
If you are someone who thinks that thriving in a fast paced society and living in a high-pressured world day in and day out is healthy, think again. Eventually, the pressure starts to cause health issues – headaches, neck and shoulder pain, and abdominal pain to list just a few and emotional, burn-out can be close-by and hit you quite suddenly. When you learn to free up your mind, you gain respite from the problems that bombard you at every turn. Being stress-free is not a nice to have; it is an essential if you wish to have a healthy mind and body.
Author Frenee Dellossa, in her book Free Your Mind Right Now states that there are several ways that letting go of the constant activity that bombards the mind, she feels that stress management techniques are essential for everyone. She calls upon years of medical training as a nurse in the US, seeing families who were regularly burdened with emotional and physical problems. Some of these anxieties and illnesses could well have been avoided if only letting go of the daily strain was possible.
Frenee Dellossa knows only too well what stress can do. It almost brought about the demise of her sister and it was at this point that she realised that there had to be a way of preventing the onset of illnesses caused by stress.
If we heed the warning signs, using meditation or relaxation techniques, it enables you to let go of any anxieties and to instead find inner tranquillity. This is vital for anyone irrespective of background, career or financial status. When you let go of tension and anxieties, it is possible to manage the stress in life quite successfully. With external pressures under control, health generally improves. Headaches and stiff neck and shoulders release and the healing can begin.
Importantly, learning to free up your mind can enable a sudden clarity of mind and to make decisions that are successful and not regretted in the future. It is quite amazing as to the extent of improved health and well-being just by learning some basic relaxation techniques. When nurturing takes place in your mind and body, healing can be reactive, replacing damaging negative thoughts and actions.
Stress can kill and the sooner people realise the dangers associated with unmanaged stress the better it will be – emotionally and physically.

The very nature of an Empath causes us to be a human lie detector. This ability has served me well in my career. Along with emotion, an Empath might use body language and an unknown intuitive sense in determining a person's truthfulness. If fact, as an Empath, I am able to size up a person's character in less than ten seconds. I need not know anything about the person, nor is it necessary for the person to say anything. I believe this is called reading a person or sizing them up.
I admit I have been wrong about people. I feel that (for me) this innate sense may be accurate about 80% of the time (or so). For this reason, I am careful not to rely on this method. I also use logic to back up my assumptions.
It's fairly easy to identify the hoaxes, conspiracy theories, and con-artists by using rational and reasonable thinking. In the case of con-artists, all that is necessary to see through their schemes is to remember the ancient wisdom "If it's too good to be true then it probably is." This kind of thinking does not require being an Empath. If you would like to improve your awareness, there are decent websites that offer exercises one can practice. I've provided meditative exercises on this subject in my books and articles. I'm sure Gary has as well. The simplest thing a person can do to develop his or her intuition is be open to new ideas, or just be open-minded.
Even when theories have evidence to back them up, their premise is subject to debate. The skeptic's sacred truths are also included in this cautionary statement. I have my doubts about a few widely accepted theories our esteemed acamedian's insist are fact. The research of our scientific investigators is often flawed because they fail to consider unconventional information.
Please consider that the information you are submitting to the Internet may be nothing more than over-blown rumors, which add to the confusion of the world. The information that I give is metaphysical theory. I do not expect anyone to accept my theories at face value. I actually discourage it. If I claim that reality is an illusion, I would ask that my readers do some self-exploration and learn this for themselves. It's essential for spiritual growth that people think for themselves. It's only my role to help people become aware of such matters.
Anyone can be wrong in their beliefs. On the other hand, reluctance to explore the unknown parts of reality is impeding the progress our race. We must be willing to consider ideas which are foreign to our intellect. Those ideas that are of unknown origin, and do not have the support of scientific evidence may be worthy of further research. Rejecting an entire field of study, such as the paranormal or metaphysics is neither sensible nor desirable. A lack of understanding does not make a claim wrong.
On a spiritual level, there are many ego-centric power hungry entities in the universe who seek to deceive mankind to further their own agenda. Their behavior has led our race to adopt a number of false beliefs, especially in religion. The activities of beings claiming superiority, is something we need to be aware of. Some of our kind's most widely held beliefs have no basis in reality. Higher knowledge is that which is acquired through an unknown source. The information received from these undefined sources can be assessed using one's intuitive sense. My discussion is leading into an area that is outside the scope of this article, so I'll stop here.

There are so many misconceptions about health and fitness, particularly when it comes to exercise. One is that if a person feels healthy, he or she doesn't need to exercise. This is an incorrect assumption because everybody needs certain levels of exercise to stay in tip-top health. Another misconception is that exercise without tools is always as effective as that with tools. In the case of ab fitness, this isn't always true. There are actually underrated advantages of abdominal exercise equipment.
First of all, tools and equipment are designed to support the body and match its needs. An item as simple as an exercise mat is specially meant, for example, to prevent back strain when exerting force during floor exercises. Weights are specifically calibrated, exercise balls are expertly made with just the right amount of friction, and so on - all to ensure the body gets exactly what it needs. One does not simply get these professional measurements and designs by creating improvised paraphernalia or just using the floor or ordinary furniture for exercise.
Another advantage of abdominal exercise equipment is that it speeds up the process and helps achieve results, making the exercise more efficient and less resource-wasting. For instance, crunches with weights do more to the body than crunches without equipment. This allows one to reach his or her goal abs in less time. The effort and hard work are put to good use, and after a while, one will see from the results that it was all worth it. This is something that can't be guaranteed with equipment-less workouts.
Equipment can also provide more options regarding exercise moves. Take a cable pulley, for example. It is just one item, yet there are so many moves that can be done with it. When one has outgrown crunches with the cable pulley, he or she can try cable lifts, cable presses, or one-arm pulls. There are more possible moves, too, and all of these with just one piece of equipment. Without it, a person is pretty much limited to the likes of curl-ups or leg windmills.
Most importantly, exercise equipment can actually help prevent injuries. The previously mentioned example about the exercise mat is just one of the many instances of this. Because devices like the mat are carefully made to be ergonomic, they minimize the untimely straining of the muscles or excessive burden on the body. Floor equipment like exercise balls and ab wheels have just the right amount of friction to reduce accidental slipping without compromising the effectiveness of the exercise. More complex types of equipment, like the ab machine, are made adjustable for just the right amount of resistance suited for the body. These are just some of the product features that can easily be missed when using makeshift materials.
Sure, using abdominal exercise equipment might require some cash, but with these benefits, it is going to be worth it. Anyone can ask the fitness experts and they would say that the help of equipment definitely does more good to the body, all misconceptions aside.

The abs is one of men's biggest fitness concerns. It is on this part of the body where excess fat usually shows, and this is also one of the areas that most people notice. Whether they're wearing swimwear out on the beach or donning a suit-and-tie for a formal event, it's understandable for men to prefer their belly area to be lean and sculpted.
That's why men shouldn't underestimate ab exercises. They can do basic ones like crunches, but a more effective way to be fit in this area is to use quality equipment. Here are some useful pieces of abdominal exercise equipment for men.
First is the ab crunch machine. It is a full-sized piece of equipment on which a person can sit and do crunches without having to curl up from the floor. This machine has handles that provide resistance or weight when pulled, making crunches more efficient. A good feature of this machine is that anyone can choose the weight it uses so that it's better suited for the current performance of the body.
Another full-sized tool for ab toning is the cable pulley. It is a special pulley that uses a resistance cable, and there are a lot of exercise moves that can be done with it. For example, there's the cable crunch, where the user curls down while pulling on the cable; the standing cable lift, where the user pulls the cable up; and the Pallof press, where the user pulls the cable toward his body.
A small yet nifty type of abdominal exercise equipment is the ab roller, also called an ab wheel. It is a usually flat-sided wheel with a handle bar on each side. A person holds it by the handle bars, then rolls it on the floor during various exercise moves. The most common variation is simply to kneel on an exercise mat, hold the roller on the floor, roll it out straight ahead until the torso is stretched parallel to the floor, and then roll it back in.
A kettlebell is a less-known tool for ab exercises. It is a cast iron ball weighing anywhere from 5 to 100 pounds, and with a handle so users can easily grab it. Though it is a weight a little similar to a dumbbell, the kettlebell can be held with one or both hands and users can perform a variety of other motions like swinging and pressing. For toning men's abs, this piece of abdominal exercise equipment can be used in windmill exercises, where a user presses it overhead while lowering the upper body.
For a wider range of moves, the exercise ball is one of the most versatile workout tools and it can be used largely for the abs. This large, slightly elastic ball is filled with air, making it great for so many moves like sitting, rolling, and balancing. It enhances crunches in various ways: for example, while crunching, users can sit on it or hold it with their legs. This makes the ab exercise more challenging and more powerful for the body.
There are many other tools out there that can help make ab exercises very effective. Along with the usage of these tools, men should remember to do their exercises regularly and pair them with proper diet and rest. That's the best path to healthy, fit abs - making abdominal exercise equipment worth it.

Lean, healthy abs could offer a lot of advantages to a woman. Not only do they contribute to her shapeliness, they are also a sign of good general wellness and strength especially in the body's core. Women who have great abs also tend to be more confident of themselves because they know they are keeping their bodies fit - no worries of baby fat or muffin tops, much less of obesity-related diseases.
But sexy abs don't just appear magically. Everyone has to work hard for them. Women have to be careful when working out because without the proper tools and guidance, they could just be tiring themselves to no avail, or worse, be prone to injury. Using abdominal exercise equipment for women can prevent these, creating an effective, safe, and enjoyable ab-sculpting experience.
One of the most versatile - and probably the most fun - pieces of abdominal exercise equipment is the exercise ball. Also called the stability ball or the Swiss ball, this is the big inflated rubber ball commonly seen in gyms and exercise videos. There are many exercise moves that can be done with it, but among the best for abs is doing crunches while either sitting on the ball or keeping it balanced between the legs. This adds extra challenge to the body without requiring too much strain, making it a great move for women.
For ladies who are not confident with the exercise ball, the BOSU can be an alternative. The name stands for "both sides up", and it refers to a piece of equipment that looks like a half-ball or a dome. It is also made of inflated rubber, so women can use it for similar ab exercises without worrying about it rolling around on the floor. True to its name, the BOSU can be used curved-side up or flat-side up, depending on the preference of the user.
Hand-held types of equipment are also helpful. The ab roller, for instance, is a widely-used tool for trimming the midsection. It looks like a small wheel with a handle bar on both sides. The most common way to use it is to start in a kneeling position, then with both hands on the handle bars, roll the wheel straight on the floor until the torso is stretched, then roll back to starting position.
Another hand-held device for toned tummies is the kettlebell. It is an exercise weight like a dumbbell, but it is rounded and has a handle. This makes it easy to grasp with one or both hands, and good for various moves like swinging, pulling, and pressing. Women can use kettlebells as weights for ab exercises without straining their bodies with too much heaviness.
For ladies who want some more weight or resistance, a cable pulley is an effective type of abdominal exercise equipment. This is a full-sized pulley that uses an exercise resistance cable with a handle. Pulling on the handle provides resistance, so it enhances ab moves like crunches and lifts. This makes ordinary exercise even more effective yet it is not as strenuous as the large ab machines around.
These pieces of abdominal exercise equipment are just tools. They should complement a woman's regular exercise routine, plus a healthy diet and enough rest. Only then can the body be truly healthy, and the woman, strong and beautiful.

There are countless tools and equipment for ab exercises today. Whether one is just starting to upgrade from the usual crunches or already trying out many devices, a simple web search says the options are never-ending. But after deciding what kind of equipment to use - for example, an ab roller - how does one ensure he buys the best product? The answer can be found largely from abdominal exercise equipment reviews.
Reading user reviews can save one from a lot of regrets, both financial and physical. Even more, it helps avoid injuries incurred from low-quality products. Here are some top aspects to check from ab equipment reviews.
The maker or manufacturer is one. So many low-standard manufacturers are popping up in the market these days, producing badly-made devices that won't last after a few uses. When looking at a product, one should check whether the maker is recognized or at least established for a while. This is an indication that their business is not shifty or unreliable. Also, established makers tend to use high standards for their materials and manufacturing process.
Along with the manufacturer, the seller's reputation should also be checked. There are even more bogus sellers today, so people shopping for abdominal exercise equipment should be extra careful. Even when the seller claims to offer a money-back guarantee, it's best to check if people have truly benefited from it. For the safest buying experience, one should go with recognized stores or those that receive positive feedback from their clients.
The quality of the product is of course important. A buyer should find out what people are saying about the parts that will be used the most. For example, when considering an ab roller, is the wheel frame sturdy and with just the right friction? Are the handle bars safely attached? Or for an exercise ball, is the rubber strong yet elastic enough for sitting on? It's important to set certain criteria based on how the abdominal exercise equipment will be used.
Weighing the price is something most buyers often overlook. This is not just about looking at prices - it's about pondering on whether this price is reasonable for the product quality. Reviewers often indicate whether they believe the product is worth the price or a waste of money. They also sometimes include comparisons to products from other brands or makers, so it's also good to check these out these alternatives.
Lastly, it's recommended to read some real-life stories from reviewers of abdominal exercise equipment. They tell a lot about the product and what one can expect from it. Are there many stories of the product breaking or snapping? Are there accounts of injuries resulting from the direct use of the product? Or are there successful fitness stories that can be attributed to the product?
All this is not to say that one can fully believe user reviews - the experience of using equipment can definitely vary from user to user. However, these reviews provide additional information and insight, letting one get a glimpse of what the product is truly worth. The bottom-line is, whenever buying something - especially if it's going to be used rigorously - a little research wouldn't hurt.

Exercise should be an important part of everyone's lifestyle, even for those who are not worrying about their size and weight. Abdominal exercises, especially, are mistakenly considered to be for the figure-conscious only, and people tend to think that if their abs are fine, they don't need these. But there are actually more benefits from exercise than just a having a slimmer body, and with the help of abdominal exercise equipment, anyone will see the difference.
One is that ab exercises actually help improve a person's general health. First of all, they can trim down body fat, reducing the risk of obesity-related diseases. These healthy physical activities also boost the health of internal organs such as the heart and the lungs. In addition, exercises increase the body's production of antibodies, which are proteins needed for immunity.
Aside from these, workouts around the torso strengthen the body's core muscles, resulting to more physical power and endurance. They also help improve one's posture and balance, and make the body less prone to back injury.
While exercise makes the body healthier, it can also make the mind happier. Numerous studies show that a good sweaty session increases the body's feel-good chemicals called endorphins, dopamine, and serotonin. Endorphins fight pain and promote happiness; dopamine creates a pleasurable, relaxed mood; and serotonin induces a feeling of hopefulness.
This explains why people get a positive rush after a solid session with abdominal exercise equipment. As they do it regularly, they get happier and more emotionally resilient. Plus, people who regularly exercise get a general feeling of confidence, knowing how healthy and fit they are becoming.
Being healthier and happier are two great bonuses from ab exercises. Of course, the most popular benefit is that they make the body lean and fit. While a good-looking body shouldn't be the priority, it does help a person exude a pleasing disposition. Beyond that, body fitness should not be a form of vanity, but a sign of taking good care of oneself.
It is important to note that to achieve these benefits, one should not just rely on improvised or low-quality gear, which may harm the body instead of help it. Many horror stories abound of people straining their muscles or even injuring themselves because of broken machine trainers or unreliable exercise mats. Quality equipment should especially be used for ab exercises because these involve an important area of the body and use a lot of force. It's best to check abdominal exercise equipment reviews to ensure that the tools used will do good to the body.
No one - not even an already-slim person - is exempted from the benefits of exercise. Thus, no one should take it for granted. Ab exercise may be a common choice and anyone may be able to do it, but it takes more than the mediocre crunches to make it truly effective. So to enjoy the benefits of this kind of exercise without making it too hard for the body, one should get the help of high-quality abdominal exercise equipment.
