If you really want to keep things simple, all you really need to play soccer is a ball. Even at that, in poorer countries they use whatever they can find since they don't even have a ball sometimes. It might be parts of a dead animal, or garbage. We're not quite going to get that simple, however, as we take a look at all of the essential equipment and gear you'll need to play a complete game of soccer.

    Safety Gear

For starters, let's take a look at the safety equipment that's standard for a game of soccer. For starters, you'll want to have shin pads. These will protect you from getting kicked in the shin, which hurts a lot if you're not wearing guards! It also happens all the time, you'll almost certainly get kicked in the shin at least a few times during a game so make sure you have decent shin guards. Other than that, there's not a lot of safety gear for soccer since it's not a contact sport and it's played on such a large field.

    Clothing and Shoes

Typically a soccer player will wear athletic shorts and a matching jersey made out of a light, breathable fabric. Soccer shoes will vary depending on whether or not you're playing inside or outside. Large socks are worm to cover up the shin pads, and that's about it except for the goalie who will typically wear a heavier shirt and gloves to project their fingers from soccer balls traveling at high speeds. Other than that, the rest of the soccer equipment we'll be looking at are some extra useful items you may want to have around.

    Extra Soccer Equipment To Have

A set of four pylons can help to set up impromptu goal posts no matter where you're playing. Also, refs will want to have whistles and a red and yellow card. Coaches should also have whistles at practice because it's not always easy to get an entire team's attention.

For soccer practice, some coaches will set-up hoola-hoops to help with target practice. These help players to improve on accuracy, especially while passing. A good drill is to have players running down the field, and once they cross a certain mark, to pass the ball to the side with a lob and to have it land as close as possible to the hoola-hoop target.

Also, don't forget water bottles for each player! Staying hydrated is incredibly important no matter which sport you're playing, but especially for outdoor soccer when you're running around in the sun. Re-useable water bottles are best, and make sure you rinse them out even if they've only had water in them because bacteria can still build up after just a few days or a week.

If you're a coach, it's a good idea to have a stop watch so that you can time drills at practice. A ref will also want a timer to keep track of the amount of time that's passed in the game.

    And don't forget...

Finally, don't forget a soccer ball! For higher up league play, people will spend closer to $100-$200 for a soccer ball, but for less competitive games just about any ball will do so don't stress about it too much.

    Final Thoughts on Soccer Equipment

Whether you're a soccer ref, a soccer coach or a soccer player - you'll want to make sure you're equipment with everything you need in order to get the most out of your experience. Soccer is one of the most affordable sports to play in terms of equipment. It doesn't come close to the amount of stuff you need for American football, hockey, or even golf. All you need is a ball and a field, the rest is all extra - but don't forget how important shin guards are to protect yourself from getting kicked!

Blausen Medical Communications was founded in Houston, Texas, in 1991 by Bruce Blausen, a gifted physician and artist and visionary medical illustrator who took notice of the power inherent in rich media for alleviating patient concerns. With the goal of providing consumers and students with free access to high-quality educational content, including medical and scientific animation and illustration, Blausen created The Human Atlas, the world's largest 3D medical animation library.

The Origin of The Human Atlas

The Human Atlas was inspired in part by Blausen's elderly mother, who became frightened when her doctor ordered an angioplasty. She expressed her concerns to Blausen, telling him that she was scared because she did not know anything at all about angioplasty. Although she had tried a simple Google search, she was quickly overwhelmed by the wide-ranging results. In an effort to help, Blausen compiled some medical animations, added an explanatory voiceover, copied it to a VHS tape, and presented it to her.

The next thing Blausen knew, his mother was requesting more and more information on different medical topics each week – diabetes, depression, glaucoma, etc. Concerned, he asked her what was going on, and she told him she was making the requests on behalf of her friends at her retirement home, all of whom were seeking easy-to-understand information because they were eager to learn more about their medical conditions and treatments. Blausen then realized the extent of the need among patients and consumers for this type of application, and the idea for The Human Atlas was conceived.

Sometime later, after implementing The Human Atlas via a website, Blausen was at a hospital awaiting the arrival of his second son when he was astonished to discover that the hospital staff was unaware that this extensive content existed – even though it was incorporated into the hospital's own website. This realization sparked his idea for the development of The Human Atlas mobile app, which has since received numerous awards and been named the best point-of-care-patient education app on the market.

    How It Works

Blausen created The Human Atlas with the patient in mind. He envisioned a patient attempting to read his or her own medical records and seeing terms that he or she is unable to comprehend, such as "myocardial infarction," "tomotherapy," "ACL tear," or "Cyberknife therapy," and then turning to the web for help. Available as a free web browser app, Blausen It will scan the online text of any website for the medical terms included in its glossary, highlight those terms in the content, and allow a user to click on any highlighted term to link to the relevant Blausen educational content. The user can then view related animations, illustrations, and models in dynamic and captivating full-screen mode. Options include animation with narration, animation alone, a 3D model that the user can rotate, and a labeled illustration. In addition, the app will suggest other related topics the user may be interested in. For example, if a user selects and views information on prostate cancer, the app may suggest further topics, such as chemotherapy, tomotheraphy, radiation sickness, and more.

With this innovative application, Blausen has truly answered the need for a simple-to-use visual aid to enhance a patient's understanding of medical information. Blausen provides a basic foundation of knowledge – for free – to anyone who may be confused and interested in learning more about a health topic, needs to explain a condition to a parent, spouse, child, or friend in an effort to alleviate their fears, or simply wants to take charge of his or her own health and well-being.

Are you toying with the idea of pursuing a different livelihood, possibly in the field of healthcare? People change careers for a variety of reasons. Perhaps you're experiencing a slump and would like to explore a new path, or you'd simply like to increase your earning potential. Or, maybe you've always envisioned yourself working happily at the job of your dreams, and you feel ready to make that dream a reality. A new employment opportunity that is well-matched to your skill set and personality can revitalize your outlook and enhance your well-being. Nevertheless, there are plenty of pitfalls to watch out for as well. If you're thinking about making a drastic career change, you'd be wise to do your homework and proceed with caution.

One common mistake people make when embarking on a new career is selling themselves short. In your excitement, haste, or perhaps even desperation to try something new, resist the temptation to completely abandon your past. After years of building an impressive resume and gaining knowledge and expertise in your current field, it is important to ensure that you will be able to apply your valuable skills to your new position. Never underestimate yourself. When changing careers, you should be unwilling to settle for anything less than a lateral move, and this can be accomplished through the identification of transferable skills, of which there are many in the healthcare field.

Skills That Transfer Well to Healthcare Careers

Due to the wide-ranging skills utilized in the medical profession, this type of career can be lucrative for employees with many different backgrounds. Following are just a few of the common strengths, skills, and characteristics that are relevant and readily transferable to a job in healthcare:

    • Sound judgment and professionalism – Because you will be working closely with patients and have access to their personal and confidential information, you'll need to earn their trust through a professional yet friendly demeanor. You'll also have to take responsibility for your actions and be prepared to justify them to others. As such, tact and discretion are vital.

    • Excellent communication skills – In addition to being a careful listener with a keen eye for non-verbal cues, you'll need to be able to explain complex concepts clearly to patients and family members who will often be upset and distracted. You'll also be required to create accurate and concise documentation for your colleagues.

    • Compassion and empathy – As a healthcare professional, you'll need to connect with your patients, understand what they're experiencing, and make them feel safe and cared for. You'll be required to focus on their needs and desires and determine how to help them achieve the best possible outcomes.

    • Grace under pressure – A healthcare job is often chaotic with high stakes, so you'll need to be able to handle – and perhaps even enjoy – a fast-paced, stressful environment. Typically, in the medical profession, time is of the essence, so you must be able to multi-task, prioritize, and think clearly on your feet in many situations that are truly life-or-death.

Showcase Your Transferable Skills for Potential Employers

Once you've performed a self-assessment and identified attributes that you can transfer to a new position, you'll need to catch the eye of your potential employer. One way to do so is to read the job posting carefully and identify key words and phrases that relate to the skills you want to highlight, and then include those words in your resume, cover letter, or job application.

After you land an interview, take advantage of the opportunities presented by open-ended questions. Refer back to those key words and phrases in the job posting and incorporate them into thoughtful answers. Describe your previous occupations, education, volunteer work, and general life experiences and illustrate how you gained the skills and strengths that will make you successful in this new position. Astute hiring managers know that if candidates have exhibited certain behaviors and performed well in the past, they're likely to do so again – even within a completely different context.

Remember, when pursuing a new line of work, don't risk losing everything you've worked so hard to achieve. Instead, consider your career move with care, and choose a path that not only interests you, but also allows you to build upon your existing strengths and knowledge base.

Soccer jerseys are among the most popular jerseys from any sports, largely due to the popularity of soccer worldwide but also because they're comfortable and easy to wear as casual clothing. In this article, we'll be talking about soccer jerseys in general and various aspects of them, including wearing them as casual clothing, collecting them, and more.

    Collecting Soccer Jerseys

A lot of fans like to collect soccer jerseys, just like any sport. Some people want game worm jerseys, which are among the most expensive for collectors, while others are fine with official jerseys or replicas.

Some jerseys have sold for tens of thousands of dollars, but the typically price is closer to around $200 for an official team jerseys, and closer to $30-$50 for a replica that may or may not be officially sanctioned by the team. Generic jerseys are even less expensive since there's no hefty licensing fee to pay to the team. You can find jerseys made by Nike, Adidas, Puma and just about any brand, or you can support your favorite team and wear their jersey.

    Wearing Soccer Jerseys Everyday

Next to golf polo shirts, soccer jerseys are among the most casual sports uniforms out there. They're typically nice collared shirts, sometimes with nice patterns or colorful designs, sometimes not.

Where can you wear a soccer jersey, besides on the soccer field? Just about anywhere. You can wear a soccer jersey to class, out to the store, just about anywhere that you would wear a normal t-shirt. It's a nice change from a normal t-shirt, especially for people who are athletic.

    Features of Soccer Jerseys

Soccer jerseys aren't always just plain shirts, these days some of them have unique features to help players stay cool on the field. A jersey that wicks away moisture will stop you from ending up the game with a soaking wet shirt, which is also more comfortable and keeps you more mobile and able to move quickly without feeling like you're wearing a soaking wet towel. Nike makes jerseys with the Dri Fit feature, which wicks moisture as described above, and other companies make similar jerseys too.

    Soccer Jersey Materials

It's impossible to say that every single soccer jersey is made from a particular material, but if you take a look at a wall of professional jerseys, chances are that most of them will be made out of 100% polyester. The advantages of using polyester is that it lasts a long time, it doesn't wear out as soon as cotton, it holds its form without getting wrinkled, and doesn't absorb moisture so it's cooler and lighter to wear while playing sports.

Sometimes, jerseys will be a mixture of more than one fabric, sometimes they'll have some cotton parts or nylon, but generally it's all polyester. The only real downside is that it doesn't always feel very natural, since it's essentially made out of plastic, but it suits its purpose very well, much better than a cotton shirt would anyways.

    Conclusion

That's all we've got to say about soccer jerseys for now, if you have any questions please don't hesitate to get in touch! These polyester shirts are great to help yourself stand out from the crowd, while everyone is wearing a t-shirt you can show a little flair with a jersey. Unlike basketball jerseys, soccer shirts are a lot more practical to wear out and about, they're less casual than a basketball jersey too.

Soccer is a great sport that is enjoyed by kids and adults alike. With players being all ages, and both genders, soccer has to have a uniform that is comfortable and wearable for all its players. Who wouldn't want to play soccer with its uniform being as comfortable and trendy as shorts and t-shirts? Not all sports allow for the comfort and versatility that soccer does. To get started it is important to be sure to have all the gear a soccer player needs. Soccer gear includes not only soccer shorts and soccer shirts or jerseys, but includes cleats, shin guards, socks (to cover the shin guards) and soccer balls. With the right gear a player can be identified as having the experience of a soccer player.

While soccer is a gender neutral sport, it is important to buy soccer gear that is gender appropriate. Ladies should wear ladies shorts and shirts while guys should wear guy's shorts and shorts. The most important thing to do before buying soccer gear is to check with the league and team to see what is regulation for their players. Some leagues require black shorts and others have a certain color picked out. The same principle goes for socks. It is also important to mention that gear for older members differs in sizes and cut, while the balls differ in regulations.

When buying soccer balls, players should refer to the size and the player's age to buy the appropriate size. Children under 8 typically play with a size three soccer ball. This ball is smaller with a circumference of 23 to 24 inches and a weight of 11 to 12 ounces. Size 4 soccer balls are used for players between the age of 8 and 12. These balls have a circumference of 25 to 26 inches and a weight of 12 to 13 ounces. The last size, size 5, is reserved for players 12 years of age and older. The circumference of a size 5 ball is around 27 to 28 inches and weighs about 14 to 16 ounces. The sizes can typically be found on the ball.

Shin guards and cleats should be bought in the appropriate size for the player. Be sure cleats are specified as soccer cleats and not any other sport so as not to be deemed unplayable at a game. Buying Soccer gear at a specialty sports or soccer store can ensure that all gear is authentic for soccer and appropriate for the specific player. Make sure to have the player try on the gear in the store before leaving to avoid unnecessary returns. Players can also ask their coaches for assistance to ensure that the gear is approved and appropriate. One last thing, don't forget the water bottle. Having a good water bottle can ensure the player stays well hydrated and in shape for the game.

Soccer is a fun game that can be enjoyed by all kinds of people. Soccer gear is generally trendy and comfortable for players of all ages, shapes, and sizes. The important thing to remember is to make sure the player is getting the appropriate and approved gear.

    *********************** ARTICLE START ***********************

To the uninitiated, it may seem like all soccer balls are created equal, but anyone who's spent some time on the field will be able to tell you that simple isn't true. In this article, we're going to be taking a look at some of the many types of soccer balls and explaining the differences, and helping you pick the right ball for any occasion! By the end of this article, you'll understand more about the different types of balls, and when it's good to use each one.

Cheap Soccer Balls Vs Expensive Soccer Balls

In the next section, we'll talk a little bit more about FIFA approved and inspected balls. A professional-caliber ball will usually cost at least $150, but you don't need to spend that much to get a great quality soccer ball. $40-60 seems to be the sweet spot between price and quality, where you'll be able to get an excellent soccer ball without spending an arm and a leg. That doesn't mean you can't find good quality balls for closer to $15 or $20, but they're not going to be as good as the higher end soccer balls. If you're going to be playing serious games in a league, you'll want to have a great game ball. For practice or just messing around at lunchtime with your friends, something cheaper will do the job just fine.

    FIFA Approved Vs FIFA Inspected

Some soccer balls will advertise that they have been either FIFA approved, or FIFA inspected. Many consumers will see either of these labels and assume that they mean the same thing, but that's not true. FIFA inspected simply means that FIFA has inspected the ball, quite literally. Approved means that FIFA has taken a look at the soccer ball and it meets their high standards of quality. The quality of the ball you need is really going to depend on your budget, how much you want to spend, and how high of a level you'll be playing at.

Indoor Soccer Balls Vs Outdoor Soccer Balls

Another factor in choosing the correct ball is whether you'll be using it indoors or outdoors. There aren't any set standards, and many balls are versatile meant for both indoor and outdoor, but here are some general rules of thumb to help differentiate the two. Indoor balls will generally have a softer outside, whereas outdoor balls are typically glossier. Outdoor balls may be lighter, since they need to travel much further distances. Outdoor balls are generally better protected from weather and he elements, for example they're typically more waterproof.

    Soccer Ball Sizes

To make things even more complex, once you've chosen the right soccer ball you've now got to select a size for it. Smaller soccer balls are used for younger players. The standard adult size is size 5, and the smallest is size 1. Size one soccer balls are also referred to as "skills balls", used to develop accuracy in footwork, dribbling, and ball control.

    Final Thoughts on Soccer Balls

It's easy to get carried away with every little stat, number and detail about various soccer balls when you're trying to find the one that's just right, but ultimately you'll never know whether or not it's the perfect soccer ball for you until you get out on the field and try it out. Don't spend too much time worrying about whether you're choosing the right ball or not, just choose your budget, grab something that seems good, lace up your favorite soccer shoes and start playing! A soccer ball isn't going to make or break you as a player, it's your skills. The most talented soccer players in the world would be just about as good if they were using $10 balls or $300 balls, what's most important is taking the time to practice and get better.

    *********************** ARTICLE START ***********************

Soccer is the most popular sport in the world because it's fun, easy to learn, and doesn't require a lot of equipment. All you really need is a ball, but it's a good idea to have some basic equipment like shin guards, goal posts and soccer shoes. This article is going to focus specifically on the topic of soccer shoes, and choosing the best ones for your needs. We'll take a look at different types of soccer shoes for different fields, and by the end of this article you'll know exactly what you need to look for the next time you're in the market for a new set of soccer shoes.

    Soccer Shoes For Indoor Soccer

Indoor soccer shoes don't have cleats, whereas outdoor soccer shoes do. We'll talk about that a little more in-depth in the next paragraph. Indoor soccer shoes typically have flat bottoms, or bottoms that are are similar to a typical running shoe. An indoor soccer pitch doesn't have the same need for grip and traction that an outdoor field has, so the cleats simply aren't necessary. Indoor soccer fields will generally use some form of artificial turf. If you have ever had your foot stepped on by somebody wearing huge outdoor cleats, you really don't mind the fact that indoor soccer shoes are flat!

    Soccer Shoes For Outdoor Soccer

When you're playing soccer outdoors, your shoes will more than likely have cleats on them. These cleats help because when you're running at a very high speed and you need to stop or turn suddenly, the extra traction can go a long way. Soccer cleats are basically plastic or metal pieces that stick out of the bottom of the soccer shoe, not unlike those used in American football, rugby or baseball. Sometimes, when somebody says "soccer cleats", they're actually referring to the entire shoe but technically the cleat is just the part that sticks out of the bottom.

Expensive Soccer Shoes Vs Cheap Soccer Shoes

The first thing to consider when you're shopping for soccer shoes is your budget. You get soccer shoes for as little as $30 or so dollars, all the way up to $300 or more. Are the more expensive shoes really worth it? It depends. They should be made better, and are usually lighter. A good trick for getting better value from high end soccer shoes is to buy older stock, a model of shoe from a year or two ago, rather than picking up the latest and greatest. Let's face it, soccer shoe technology isn't moving forward by leaps and bounds on a yearly basis, and you can save a good chunk of money by opting for a slightly older style.

    Where To Buy Soccer Shoes

There are many places to purchase soccer shoes. Local sports stores are good because you can try the shoes on first, however they're also typically the most expensive. A specialty store for soccer will likely have the best selection, but also be quite expensive. If you're looking for the best value, consider trying out some shoes in person to find the right fit and size, and then ordering your new soccer shoes online.

Many people buy expensive soccer shoes but only end up playing for a season or less, so buying second hand soccer shoes can save you a fortune - if you don't mind the fact that somebody has already worm them.

    Popular Soccer Shoe Brands

Here are some of the top brands that make shoes for soccer players. They all make both indoor and outdoor soccer shoes.

    - Umbro

    - Nike

    - Adidas

    - Puma

    - Diadora

    - Asics

    - Pele

    - and many more!

Choosing the right one isn't always easy, but if you have a rough idea what you want, you're well on your way. It comes down to what feels best for you, there isn't really a "right" or "wrong" choice, however some brands are known for producing higher quality shoes, lighter shoes, and shoes with more protection for your feet. Choose what your priorities are, and go from there.

Diet and exercise are essential to successfully burning belly fat. You can't replace them if you want to experience quick weight loss. Choosing the right supplements to add to your fitness plan can help you increase your burn, and you can lose belly fat even faster. The following supplements are a few of the more popular choices available.

GABA, which stands for gamma-amino butyric acid, is an amino acid that has many benefits that collectively contribute to acquiring a lean physique. It is found to stimulate production of HGH, or human growth hormone, which is believed to aid in metabolism of body fat. HGH is also responsible for muscle gains, which will in turn increase your metabolism. Other bonus benefits of GABA are increased focus, a calming effect, and better sleep.

Raspberry ketones are also known to increase fat metabolism. It is a derivative of raspberries that is shown to have a similar effect as other popular fat loss supplements such as capsasin and synephrine. Studies indicate that raspberry ketones increase core body temperature, which increases metabolism. This supplement also gives you a nice energy boost without the jitters, so it is a great aid to get you through those tough workout sessions that really burn belly fat.

Green Tea is a popular supplement that many are adding into their daily routine. Aside from the numerous health benefits green tea offers, it also happens to increase metabolism and fat loss. When using a pure green tea extract, you get the increase of metabolism without the increase in heart rate you would get from other stimulants. Being rich in antioxidants, and bioflavonoids, green tea fights free radicals in your body, and boosts your immune system. It is not only a tool to help you lose weight and burn belly fat, it is great supplement to aid in overall wellness.

Green coffee bean extract is quickly becoming very popular because of the effect on fat loss. It helps to curb blood sugar spikes, increase activity of fat burning enzymes, and decrease activity of fat synthesizing enzymes. These factors combine to create a highly effective fat loss regimen. This supplement is quickly gaining popularity.

L-carnitine is an amino acid that many body builders use to supplement their fitness routine. It is known to aid in fat loss by helping the body use fat as fuel instead of depleting the muscles of glycogen.. This results in a better energy level, increase in fat burn, and an environment for the body to build lean body mass.

These supplements can greatly enhance your results when it comes to losing weight and burning belly fat. You may choose to take just one or take a combination of supplements. Before adding any supplements, talk with your doctor to be sure they are compatible with any medications you may be taking. Combining the supplements with a healthy diet and consistently putting in quality time in the gym, you can loose belly fat for good.

All calories are the same, right? Wrong! Carefully choosing foods to include in your diet can change the outcome of your weight loss success. Some foods actually help your body shed those unwanted pounds. Here are five foods proven to help you lose weight.

Whole grains have many health benefits. They are high in vitamins E and B, iron, and magnesium. They are also a great source of fiber.Consuming whole grain foods provides us with many good nutrients. Studies have shown that those who eat little or no whole grains weigh more on average than those who routinely take in whole grains. The high fiber in whole grains helps regulate metabolism, and helps you to feel fuller, longer. This helps to prevent overeating, which is a key to weight loss.

Grapefruit is considered a negative calorie food, which means it takes more calories to actually digest it, than you get from the actual food. If you are looking for quick weight loss, grapefruit could be a great snack that won't undo that cardio session you just finished earlier in the day. It is a high fiber food, which helps us feel more satisfied. Grapefruit is also known to decrease insulin levels, which translates into less sugar stored as fat. You also avoid the hunger that is triggered from higher insulin levels.

Protein is essential in your diet if you want to lose weight in a healthy way that supports muscle growth. Protein is the building blocks of muscle tissue. When you feed your body the tools to build muscle, you are investing in a higher metabolism. Muscle burns more calories, so the more muscular you are, the more calories your body uses to feed those muscles. Your body also uses more energy to digest protein than other calorie sources. Good sources of protein are lean meats, fish, cottage cheese, and protein powders

Fish can be a nice edition to your high protein menu. It can help you lose weight because of the effect it has on leptin. What is leptin? The simplified answer is leptin is a hormone that regulates our metabolism. It dictates how much of our calories end up stored as fat. The lower the leptin levels in the body, the ess calories stored as fat. Fish reduces leptin levels in the body, which reduces the amount of fat stored.

Last, but not least, you can include apples in your weight loss plan. Yes, an apple a day can keep the doctor away, but it can also keep the fat away. Apples contain pectin, which limits the amount of fat our body stores. To help you lose weight, add an apple to the lunch box every once in a while to discourage fat storage.

Being smart about the foods you choose to include in your diet can greatly affect the outcome of your weight loss goals. Eliminate empty calories and include some or all of the foods mentioned. This will help you lose weight while maintaining a healthy diet.

Browse through the health and fitness section of the magazine aisle, and you will find out there are more choices than any person could ever begin to research when it comes to quick weight loss, burning belly fat, or any other fitness goal. You can get lost in a sea of weight loss tips and tricks. Some of them are drastic and almost comical at times. Which ones really do help people to lose weight? Here are just a few.

The first tip you should follow is clean out your kitchen! Once you have made the decision to lose weight, you have to get everything out of the house that doesn't fit into your new, healthy diet. If it's in there, you still have the potential to have a late night binge session that can totally sabotage the diet. Get rid of the old to make room for the good stuff.

The next tip is to plan your meals in advance. Don't go grocery shopping without a plan. You should know exactly what you need for the meals you have planned for the week. Meal planning helps you stay within your calorie goals. To simplify things, you can choose just two or three breakfast options and 2 or 3 lunch options that are all similar in calories. Just switch them around throughout the week. This makes building your shopping list less of a task.

Buy a food scale. Using a food scale ensures that you are accurately counting your calories. People have the most trouble figuring the serving size of their meat. Miscalculating portion size can really ruin the success of a diet and prevent the dieter from losing weight. With a food scale conveniently located, it takes just seconds to keep yourself on the right track in meeting your goal to lose weight. It's easy to use and they are very affordable.

Use substitutions whenever you can. Making just a few adjustments in recipes can eliminate a large amount of calories over time. Sometimes the taste does change slightly when substituting a lower calorie ingredient, but most of the time you will quickly become accustomed to the taste and many times prefer the lower calorie versions. An example of a great substitution would be switching regular milk for unsweetened almond milk. If you love cereal, this can really free up some calories! Also, Greek yogurt is a great substitute for sour cream.

Take in high fiber foods. A diet high in fiber has been proven to benefit our digestive system and prevent colon cancer. It is also a good practice for anyone trying to exercise control over eating habits to lose weight because it keeps us feeling satisfied longer between meals. Fiber rich foods take longer to digest, therefore we feel full longer. As long as we feel full, we won't be as likely to snack on empty calories between meals.

Put these easy tips into action and you can have success in reaching your fitness goals.

    *********************** ARTICLE START ***********************

There are many strategies out there about how to achieve fast weight loss. Any successful plan must include cardio. Why? To answer that, we must first remember the old tried and true idea of calories in, calories out. We must use more calories than we take in. Cardio exercise makes it easier to create that deficit.

When we engage in cardiovascular activity, we increase the demand for fuel for our body. This fuel comes in the form of calories. The harder we work out, the more fuel our body needs and the more calories we burn. Once we burn through the calories we have taken in, our body begins to use stored energy. For anyone with the goal of losing belly fat, this is when that begins to happen.

In edition to an initial increase in calorie bun, the effects of cardio last far beyond the time we are actually doing the exercise. Our metabolism gets a boost that lasts for hours after we leave the gym. If you get in a nice cardio session in the morning, you can better burn the calories you take in for the rest of your day.

Cardio also enhances our fast weight loss plan by giving a great boost in energy that helps us have a better strength training session. Before beginning a strength training workout, do a quick 5 to 10 minute cardio session. This get's the blood flowing to the muscles. Our muscles get warmed up, and that makes them more flexible and we are less likely to have an injury. The boost we get from our cardio session can enhance performance and add endurance to our strength training.

There are different choices when it comes to the type of cardio you want to do. As long as you are doing some form of it, you will be able to achieve your goal of quick weight loss. Studies have been done to analyze what the different types of cardio achieve.

Low intensity, long duration cardio plans, sometimes referred to as LISS (low intensity steady state ), are usually sessions lasting 60 minutes or longer. Some prefer to do this type of cardio because it is believed that during a lower intensity exercise, the body uses more calories derived from fat, than muscle. When your goal is quick weight loss and being able to burn belly fat, this type of cardio would be good to include in your plan.

HIIT, or high intensity interval training, is also great to include in your cardio plan. This type of cardio combines short bursts of very intense activity with periods of slower recuperation. This type of cardio is believed to be very effective in burning fat, which is important for those who need to lose belly fat, but also it is responsible for that long term calorie burn mentioned earlier that lasts for hours after the workout.

Building a good cardio plan that includes both LISS and HIIT, will help you achieve your goal of fast weight loss by helping create the calorie deficit necessary to begin burning off excess fat and by making sure your body obtains those calories from the right areas.

    Cloud-Based Contract Management Process

Cloud computing surely comes a long way from hearsay to reality and this type of software has affected many companies throughout the globe. Ranging from hosted e-mail solutions, hosted IT server to hosted to hosted contract management software, cloud computing features are empowering many companies to focus less on maintaining their computing power as well as to concentrate more on core competencies.

The use of cloud computing in company processes benefits organizations that have mobile or remote workforce. These employees need to be constantly connected so they can gather relevant and reliable data for the use of the company.

    Cloud-Based Contract Management System

A major objective of contract management within a business is to make certain that its obligations and commitments to suppliers and customers are visible to the right individuals in the organization. This way, such things will be acted upon immediately. You can easily achieve operational efficiency by means of cloud technologies. Additionally, you can also use this special contract management software in order to overcome costs due to human error.

The automation basically expands to contract management, and this is one of the most significant parts of the business process. While contract management programs aren't going to provide enough strategic thinking or to accomplish different high-level works, as this can carry out regular contract management works without the risk of human error.

Another important thing about using the contract management program is that it can trigger human action whenever it's necessary. The system is considered as a critical cost-saving mechanism for any business to put in place. You'll never have to deal with serious financial consequences due to lax human oversight of different contracts that they have entered into.

The standardized procedures will help decrease unplanned spending. In addition to this, you'll also be able to enjoy constant savings from your purchases.

The success of business operations is often due to a highly competent contract management system. A contract management system organizes data for clients, contractors, employees, vendors and other parties. It enables the complex processes of contract management easier and time efficient. It increases the speed and precision in the processing and renewal of contracts and legal documents.

Contract management system assures the clients' security of information. Moving to a cloud based can be a sensitive process of transferring important information into a system in the cloud that will be accessible by many users.

Cloud based system enables easy access to contract data without software installation and on-site upgrades. It is a very flexible way to process and renew contracts where end users are able to access them in real time. Thus companies should evaluate beforehand if their files can indeed be stored and accessed in the cloud.

Cloud-based contract management system is cost effective because it does not have to deal with on sight set up and maintenance time, labor and cost. However there are companies that need to have on-site contract management system as a corporate policy or industry regulation. Anyhow, IT executives of the business that want to pursue cloud based system should be able to find one that meets the business's legal and IT requirements. As long as they know these requirements there are a lot of great options in the market that allow the business to have a system in the cloud.

This is why system administrators should work closely with client's executives to make sure that the system is working well and meeting everyone's expectations. As the business grows, the contract software should be able to meet business standards and help achieve its goals. Without constant evaluation, the business might be at risk of losing salient information and important contracts because the contract system could not handle its growing requirements anymore. The business should be open for the possibility of upgrades especially when it comes to something as important as contract management.

In the process of contract management upgrade, businesses should look for the contract management software's processing steps. Check out how contracts are submitted, how vendor profiles are created and how the system deals with contract notices, flags and follow ups. It is also important to check out how the system generates and distributes the contracts. In a competitive market it is wise to evaluate the system's renewal function since this will contribute fairly to the productivity and efficiency of the business.

If the business team does not have enough knowledge of the requirements of the system, it is better to have a third party to evaluate the prospective contract system. Make sure that he or she is an expert in the cloud based systems. This will definitely help in the company's purchase decision. Such expertise will also serve as valuable information in using the system to its fullest advantage or in the event where the company might need system upgrade again in the future.

A contract is very essential. It does not only state significant details about the relationship of a business organization with its stakeholders. It also has a great effect on the organizations' financial performance or profitability. Because of this, it is important for business organizations to manage their contracts efficiently. In this light, getting effective contract management services is beneficial.

Here are the benefits of getting contract management services:

    1. Improved Employee Efficiency

Because of the tight competition in the business field, organizations and their employees are expected to work on tasks to the best of their abilities and with whatever is available. This need for efficiency often results to undesirable shortcuts and eliminations. Such unwanted results can be prevented through automated workflows.

Contract management services provide automated workflows that streamline business processes by omitting unnecessary steps. For instance, the details or information required will be automatically and directly transferred to the right business stakeholders. This routed information can be based on the type of contract, contract value, and other criteria.

Through an automated workflow, the process of contract creation, approval, and implementation is made faster.

    2. Risk Visibility

Business organizations have numerous contracts with other business entities and individuals. These contracts are often filed in cabinets or are kept on individual personnel hard drives. This non-secure way of keeping contracts may lead to various business losses. But, with contract management services, the different business departments will have instant access to each contract via an organized and centralized source.

    3. New and Sustained Agreements

Another key benefit of having these services is its ability to make and sustain the best agreements. Through these services, business organizations are able to view and analyze all their existing commitments and agreements with other enterprises. Based on the results of their analysis, they can negotiate new contracts containing the best terms. This is done through the software's feature that authors contract information with accuracy and consistency.

In addition, a contract buyer can be reminded about renewing their contracts weeks or months before the contract termination via the so-called automated alerts.

    4. Easy Operational and Financial Performance Analysis

With a centralized contract source, comparison of real-time purchases against the contracted ones is made easier. It allows business organizations to see how they are performing. For instance, non-adherence to the contract's terms and conditions can be seen and immediately dealt with. Furthermore, this service provides spend visibility. It makes all expenses made throughout the contract duration visible and accessible for analysis.

    5. Better Compliance

In a recent study, fifty percent improvement in compliance management was reported after getting contract management services. Business organizations are able to deal with their contract obligations and are reminded of important dates and events.

Having all these advantages, there is no doubt that such services are essential to business organizations. If you are a business organization looking for the best service, Reniew is an excellent choice for you. It is a brand new contract management services provider that offers the most affordable package starting at $150 per month and uses the cloud technology.

The contract management process is definitely easier and cost-effective if the software is based in the cloud, like Reniew. The contract data of all the clients can be accessible anytime and anywhere. Using the software, the contract management process begins with the creation of the business' data base that comprises of the vendors, distributors and maintenance products. All information of the clients will be organized in such a way that one will never have to deal with losing client information.

In the process of filling up information, the Import Wizard helps out in uploading and importing data from Accounting files and CRM system. This can be done by exporting a CVS file and hitting upload. The wizard will help maneuver through the proper fields to be imported and uploaded.

With the system formed and customer base established, it is easier to build from this, adding and deleting data along the way. With an automated contract renewal system, it is easier to retrieve customer files and add profile information and get on with the next contract. This makes managing thousands of contracts and their renewals a breeze.

Contract management process has never been more convenient in terms of data management with this kind of software. Once the client has their own place in the software, editing, reorganizing, adding and deleting items will be more manageable and stress free than doing these functions manually.

Using this software also enables the clients to have their own portals where they can access their own information. This makes it cost and time efficient. Gone are the days when one has to allocate time to answer clients regarding a contract information. Everything that the clients need to know will be accessible on the their own portal. They will have their login information so they can access the pages showing their products, budget contracts and other salient information.

There are many more advantages that the software brings to the contract management process. This includes its ability for integrated search. Updating one item will update all other entries in the system accordingly. Invoice making is also automated which makes billing more organized and efficient. And if the contract is up for renewal, the client will immediately receive contract expiration notice and depending on agreement, subsequent contract renewal.

The software has intuitive tabbed interface that enables one to see and work on many items onscreen at once. This makes it possible for contract creation, termination, changing of prices and billing to be done on a single screen.

Contracts are ready for reviewing and reporting at all times. As soon as the changes and edits of the contract are made and uploaded, clients will be able to see the latest and updated version of the contracts on their portals. The contract software also has automated reminders to inform the clients of information that needs changes and update. Finally, when it comes to the company's cash flow and analysis, the clients will have access to revenues and profit margins based on their contracts.

To do this you will want to look at landscaping stones and rocks, or even wood chips just to name a couple of things. You can even use granite and marble in your landscaping design. You can have nice little stepping stones, some statues or displays in your landscaping design or you can just have pretty rocks. A theme can go a long way towards making your landscaping design gorgeous. If you love butterflies or hummingbirds then choose plants and flowers that will attract them to your yard and garden. This is a glorious way to showcase your design and you will always have something pretty to look at. You can talk to those at your local plant store about which type of plants and flowers will work best for this where you live.

You can have climbing plants on it in the summer and spring and pretty trees around it that will look great in the winter. When looking for a good backyard landscaping idea you need to look for other options besides just plants. There is much more to landscaping than just plants and trees. Walls and fences can frame your property beautifully and using them is such a great backyard landscaping idea because they will just accent all of your other wonderful backyard landscaping ideas. Most people go to Vegas for the gambling and high quality entertainment. But a lot of them want a little break from all the glitz and glamour of Sin City. For many, Grand Canyon flights on Las Vegas helicopters are the perfect getaway. Here's some helpful info on these flights so you can book the one that suits you best.

    Which Rim?

Las Vegas helicopters only fly to Grand Canyon West (the South Rim's out of range). Luckily for Vegas-based travelers, the West Rim is the only place where helicopters are allowed to land on the canyon floor.

The South Rim has helicopter tours too, but if you're starting from Vegas you'll need to hop an airplane first. Grand Canyon flights on planes leave from Vegas and fly directly to Tusayan, AZ (at the South Rim) every day of the week. The flight only takes about an hour. After landing, the passengers then board a helicopter for an exciting half-hour rim-to-rim flight. This particular package also includes a bus tour inside the National Park.

    The Aircraft

It might not sound like a big deal, but it really is. I'm talking about the type of aircraft you fly in. Basic tours usually use choppers that seat up to six. Personally, I think upgrading to a tour that uses an EcoStar 130 is well worth it. These aircraft have a wraparound windshield that's great for sightseeing, forward-facing stadium-style seating, and a cabin that's significantly larger than standard choppers.

    Air-Only vs. Landing Tour

Air-only Grand Canyon flights are terrific for folks with limited time or budgets (they're cheaper). I always prefer the landing tours, though - they give you a more comprehensive canyon experience. My favorite is the one that lands on the bottom for a picnic, with the optional float trip down the Colorado added on.

I also love the landing tour that includes VIP access to the "Glass Bridge." This is something you really shouldn't skip: the Grand Canyon Skywalk is made entirely of glass and at its farthest point you'll be standing 4,000 feet above the bottom and 70 feet past the edge of the rim! It's an awesome experience you'll never forget. You won't even have to wait in line because you get to cut to the front!

Las Vegas helicopters are very popular, and flights sell out frequently. That being said, you can ensure that you have a seat by booking in advance. Even though you might be okay booking 72 hours before the date you want, I'd play it safe by booking at least a week ahead.

    Conclusion

Las Vegas has a ton of things to see and do, but Grand Canyon helicopter tours are famous for the great experience they deliver. You can choose from aerial or landing tours, but I prefer the latter because they're more in-depth. A lot of tour companies are competing for your business, so prices are reasonable. Book ahead and do it on the Internet. By completing your purchase on the tour company's site, you'll snag a great Internet rate!

The mental health care system is a unique culture. Psychiatry itself is unlike any other medical specialty. The psychiatric community is an enclosed system. This means that it is a world within a world. The doctors, therapists, patients, and support workers play roles. It's a reciprocal environment. Each player in the system allows the other person the opportunity to act out his or her role. For example, the psychiatrist gives you a diagnosis that has no basis (Yes this does happen from time to time). Having complete faith in the powers of the behavioral health system, you unhesitatingly accept this diagnosis as the gospel truth. In time, you begin to notice certain behaviors and thoughts that you believe may be a sign of your supposed illness. You return to your doctor and report these symptoms. The psychiatrist agrees with your observations and writes them down in your medical record. He also inserts his authoritative opinions to support his diagnosis. Therefore, both parties in the relationship are mutually validated in their roles.

When one has been playing the patient role for so long, a person begins to identify himself or herself as a "psych patient." That's who you are. This is the term that defines your very existence. You belong to the mental health care system. Soon enough you find that every activity you engage yourself in is related to your disorder and the medication your doctor prescribed to suppress it. It's a sad commentary indeed. It's sadder still for the person who needlessly struggles against an undefinable defect in his or her character as if the diagnosis were the irrefutable truth. I acknowledge the fact that the unsettling scenario I am painting here is not true for every psychiatric patient.

Remember this. Once you get into the mental health system your chances of getting out are slim. There are a number of reasons for this. Primarily because the psychiatrist or psychologist has you convinced that you have a serious medical problem, which you can't handle yourself. We all know that's ridiculous. Many people manage their depression and anxiety quite well without the use of psychiatric medications. If Ativan calms your nerves and helps you function normally, then that's great. On the other hand, I have seen plenty of people become addicted to sedatives. These drugs are unsafe. I wouldn't put your faith in the safety of the anti-depressants either. The pharmaceutical giants are quick to point that out as a result of the numerous class action lawsuits that have been filed against them.

Some blame can be placed on the pharmaceutical companies for this unnatural drug dependence. I surfed NAMI's website (National Alliance for Mental Illness) and noticed "In Our Own Voice," a public education program, is funded by a grant from Eli Lily. This is the pharmaceutical company that manufactures psychiatric drugs like Prozac, Zyprexa, and Cymbalta. I gather (without too much mental effort) that Eli Lily's generosity is a publicity campaign intended to make them look like one of the good guys in the mental field, and as a result, boost sales.

As I surfed the Internet, I found that NAMI has been receiving their fair share of criticism for their questionable association with pharmaceutical companies. I will not say NAMI is immoral or unethical. That would be too easy. If Ely Lily offered me thousands of dollars, I would have to seriously consider taking it. Sometimes the decision to cross the line depends on one's real life needs. Other times it just has to do with making a buck. There is no denying that this kind of corporate misconduct adversely affects the mental health care system and exacerbates the suffering of its consumers. Again, I understand that some people require the assistance of the pharmaceutical companies and the psychiatric community. The screening process for prescribing these medications is a big part of the problem. That's because there is no adequate system in place for dispensing these potentially dangerous drugs.

I have a particular issue with atypical anti-psychotic medications such as Zyprexa, Seroquel, Abilify, and Risperdal. After taking Risperdal for over fifteen years for bipolar manic-psychosis, I was told by my prescriber that I no longer need it. My psychiatrist told me that she "believes my patients should experience their emotions. I was thinking "You mean human beings should experience emotion? What a marvelous idea!" In a follow-up appointment, I asked her about the memories and emotions I was experiencing with such great intensity. She told me that Risperdal has a blunting effect on emotion. It actually suppresses one's feelings. I wish my last four or five treaters had mentioned this terrible effect. Since emotions do not go away, but rather pile up, I recommend that people process their emotions while they occur rather than putting aside for a later time. Anti-psychotic medications should be used as a treatment of last resort, and only in cases where a patient is not responding to milder therapeutic treatments.

I recently learned that Jansen, the pharmaceutical company which manufactures Risperdal was sued by a number of states for their deceptive marketing practices. Apparently Jansen's sales representatives were encouraging child psychiatrists to use Risperdal on "unmanageable" children. There is a mental health condition the psychiatric community calls "oppositional defiant disorder." Here are the criteria for diagnosing this so-called mental illness (This was taken from Wikipedia):

Some signs and symptoms that must be perpetuated for longer than 6 months and must be considered beyond normal child behavior to fit the diagnosis are:

"The child must exhibit 4 out of the 8 signs and symptoms listed below in order to meet the DSM-IV-TR diagnostic threshold for oppositional defiant disorder

    - Actively refuses to comply with majority's requests or consensus-supported rules

    - Performs actions deliberately to annoy others

    - Angry and resentful of others

    - Argues often

    - Blames others for his or her own mistakes

    - Often loses temper

    - Spiteful or seeks revenge

    - Touchy or easily annoyed

Generally, these patterns of behavior will lead to problems at school and other social venues."

Essentially, any child in America could be diagnosed with oppositional defiant disorder as defined in the Diagnostic Statistical Manual. For this reason, any child could potentially be prescribed anti-psychotic medication.

Interestingly, the Jansen sales reps also walked into nursing homes encouraging the doctors to prescribe Risperdal to their dementia patients. It wasn't until elderly nursing home residents started dying from Neuroleptic Malignant Syndrome that people started complaining about this drug. The lawsuits filed against Jansen resulted in a billion dollar settlement. This money went to state coffers to recover the health care costs involved in treating the victims. At least that is their claim. This landmark settlement is one the largest in pharmaceutical history.

When Zyprexa first entered the prescription drug market, I was prescribed to me for anxiety. I remember at that time I was taking classes at my local hospital for frustration with the mental health care system (I realize that now). I met a person who was serving time in an inpatient unit for bipolar disorder. I knew him from years before. This man was anxiously pacing on the floor. His restlessness was making me nervous. I noticed he was popping a pill every fifteen minutes. I asked him what he was taking. He said Zyprexa. I was troubled by this, so I expressed my concern to a nurse. She said, "He has a PRN for it, but even that has its limitations. For those of you who are not familiar with medical terminology, PRN means "as needed." Thinking back on this, I am wondering if this man is still alive.

I use to hear psychiatric patients complain about how their doctors experimented on them. I thought this statement was a little far-fetched (especially coming from a psych patient). I realize now that this is exactly what they were doing to me. I believe the term the medical community gives to this dangerous experimenting is "off label use." I do not know if off label drug use is unique to psychiatry or if it is common practice in all medical specialties. I am under the impression that medications proposed to treat a certain condition, must undergo medical trials before entering the prescription drug market. I have found myself in the emergency room more than once because of this off label use practice.

Society itself contributes to this dysfunctional culture. The general attitude of the public is "As long as they are not bothering us you can do what you want with them." This gives the mental health providers even more power to do as they please. And so the psychiatric patient is stripped of his or her rights. As I see it, a psychiatric patient is a human being without respect or dignity. You can call my words dramatic if you like.

It may seem as if I am playing the blame game and taking on the victim role. Allow me to clarify the role of the patient in the mental health care system (those like myself). I will be the first to admit that the informed psychiatric patient is the one who is primarily responsible for his or her unfortunate situation. We have to accept our role in the system. No one can twist your arm behind your back, and say, "Go see a therapist about your anxiety." At least that's true in most cases. When you reflect on why you did it, you will say, "It seemed like a good idea at the time."

Psychiatric patients may also be forced to take anti-psychotic medication against their will. Theoretically, they can even make a patient submit to electro-shock treatment. In Massachusetts, a mental health facility must comply with the Roger's decision and petition the appropriate court for approval. I am told this is a fairly routine matter. The court system merely acts as an assembly line for approving these orders. Once again, who is the judge going to believe, the medical doctor or the mental patient? It's no contest. When I say this, I am not referring to the people who are actively hallucinating and believe that invaders from Mars are attacking.

If you should attempt to verbalize your rights as a human being, the mental health provider will proceed to have you committed to a psychiatric hospital against your will. In Massachusetts, providers have the permission of the commonwealth to hold a person indefinitely. A patient can only be released from a facility when a clinician decides the person has come to his or her senses. Mental health professionals can essentially do whatever they want with you because no one is going to speak out against their abusive practices. Consumers of the Massachusetts psychiatric system must retain a specially trained lawyer to represent them before a mental health court in order to be released.

The only time the state of the mental health system is brought to light is when a patient commits suicide or kills someone. Then there is a public uproar and the psychiatrist or therapist is blamed and in some cases sued. In their defense, a doctor cannot control the behavior of their patient in society. That is not their responsibility as I see it. The mental health professional cannot be held responsible for the actions of their patients, unless they were grossly negligent in some way. We are free and sovereign human beings. In the United States, people are generally allowed to operate freely without undue interference from others. The American attitude is "No one has the right to tell me what to do." It's a slightly different story if the patient states that he or she intends to commit suicide or kill someone.

I'll bet most of you were not aware of the failings of the mental health care system. I have not personally had the experience I just described, but I have been in the psychiatric system long enough to know how business is carried out.

    *********************** ARTICLE START ***********************

At the time of this writing, I was introduced to an interesting woman with a decidedly different perception of reality. This woman is in her fifties. I'll call her Evelyn. Although I do not know Evelyn's history, I made some assumptions about her, based on the statements she made. Evelyn stated that people are breaking into her apartment and cutting up her clothes. She has repeatedly asked her landlord to change the locks on her door. Evelyn abandoned several apartments because of this frightening disturbance.

Evelyn has been homeless for years at a time as a result of what medical doctors refer to as paranoia. She told me that she called the police about her fears. Apparently she was admitted to an inpatient psychiatric hospital for several months for doing so. More recently she has contacted the FBI and the Whitehouse concerning her distress. She stated that no one is listening to her. Evelyn said that her doctor told her she is making up stories and lying (whether or not that was doctor's exact words are unknown). I decided to refrain from making that same remark.

My guess is (and this is only a guess) that someone was breaking into her room as a child and abusing her. Evelyn made some vague references to her childhood. I do not know what they were about, and I certainly would not repeat them to anyone if I did know. I believe my suspicions may explain why she abandons her apartments in favor of homeless shelters. This would not seem rational to the average person. It seems to me that Evelyn feels unsafe in her apartment as a result of childhood trauma.

I assume that Evelyn is dependent on the over-burdened state and federal social programs for her food, shelter, and health care. Our mental health care system is ill-equipped to deal with people like her. The mental health care system's resources are limited and quickly dwindling.

In Evelyn's personal reality, these experiences are real. I believe her condition would be labeled post-traumatic stress disorder. On some level, Evelyn's experiences are taking place with as much physicality as the computer you are using to access this article. To Evelyn, these experiences are not hallucinations. She perceives her intruders with as much reality as you and I.

In metaphysics, we know that the mind creates reality. This reality creating process may be limited to our personal realities, or it may also involve the greater, or shared reality of others. Our thoughts become the things we perceive in the physical environment. The ancient mystics were the first to report that the universe is a complex mental structure. They also told us that mental energy is of a vibratory quality. Modern mystics have gone on to explore the universe and the nature of reality using these early concepts as a foundation.

I believe that Evelyn is telling the truth about people breaking into her apartment. This same theme occurs over and over for her. Again, I believe that, in Evelyn's personal reality, these home intruders are truly real. Evelyn must be extremely frustrated that no one will acknowledge her distress. Nobody wants people breaking into their home. Perhaps I should have said to her "I'm sorry that they are doing that to you. You have the right to tell them to stop." This is just an afterthought. My hypnosis instructor made me aware of this technique. I'm not sure if this is the correct way to respond to a traumatized person in her situation. Apparently, no one else has given any thought to it.

From a metaphysical standpoint, it seems that a person with post-traumatic stress disorder allows a large part of their consciousness to either leave their body, or create a distinct and separate reality, much the same as the one in which you and I exist.

I have personally witnessed North American shamans successfully heal people with medical illnesses using a process they call soul retrieval. In soul retrieval, the practitioner somehow seeks out the missing parts of a person's consciousness and encourages these pieces to return to the person's body. On one occasion, I observed the physical manifestation a man's missing spirit parts entering his body through his right leg. I was told that some parts of the person's consciousness may refuse to return. I should mention that the altruistic shamans I met do not charge for their healing service. Donations are always appreciated however.

When a child tells an adult about their imaginary friend, we automatically assume this is an innocent childhood hallucination. Doctors call children's imaginary friends a product of creativity. Could there actually be an invisible purple dinosaur standing in the middle of the room? I do believe this is possible based on the power of the mind. Once again I will say that all thoughts manifest on a mental or physical plane.

Spirits are invisible to us, yet mediums will tell you that they are, in fact, in the room with you. Mediums are able to communicate personal messages from spirits that can be verified as accurate by the person receiving the information. My point here is that just because you can't see something doesn't mean it isn't real.

Some mentally ill people make statements to get a reaction out of the other person. In one case, a mentally impaired man tried to get a rise out of me by saying he was in the mafia and the CIA. This is not something that I believe, and he certainly doesn't believe it either. His intention was too let me know how "crazy" he is.

When we are speaking to a person, it's essential to recognize his or her mental state. The reason this is important is that you will be able to understand the person and relate to them without being confused and scared. Most people will not take the time to do this. It's easy to avoid people who are not in touch with the consensus reality. It could also be that most of us do not have the patience to learn to relate to them. Therefore, we have frightened people in this world, like Evelyn calling the Whitehouse saying "No one is listening to me."

The MBA in Symbiosis has a loyal fan following. Unlike the other Business schools in the league, the MBA in Symbiosis uses a holistic learning approach to prepare the students to evolve into future manager. Amongst the many options for Business Management programs that are functional under the Symbiosis Banner, the Symbiosis Center for Information & Technology, Pune offers the MBA in IT program. This MBA in IT program deals exclusively with the Information & Technology domain. The master's program is different from the usual Business Management Course Pune options that we usually come across. Using a blend of technical know-how and managerial expertise, the MBA in IT is developed with a view to serve the IT community by contributing towards building a sustainable talent pool.

Ever since its inception, SCIT has traversed a long journey to establish its expertise in the academic domain. In this journey, the institution has learnt as well as taught. The industry exposure, support from the experts and the guidance of Symbiosis, SCIT has incorporated several features that make it stand apart from the hordes of business schools in the country. The curriculum is regularly revamped to ensure that the students are never out of touch from the latest developments in the industry. But, this revamping of programs does not suffice. A lot more effort goes into creating world class IT managers that SCIT has been doing for years. Along with a strong academic background, SCIT ensures that the students are given ample opportunities of learning through industry interface programs.

These industry interface programs are a mandatory inclusion in the curriculum at SCIT. However not all business schools have the infrastructure to support this kind of infrastructure. The current economic climate demands managers who are proactive in their approach and decision making. It is only through interactive initiatives like the various industry interface programs conducted at SCIT that students will be able to develop the much needed skill set to deliver according to the standards of the corporate sector.

Even when students are involved in the industry interface initiatives, the academic sessions have to support the learning process by providing relevant management knowledge.

Encouraging students to take up research and explore the realms of IT sector is a norm on the SCIT campus. You may think that research is promoted equally by several other Business schools as well, so what's the difference? Well, for starters, not all business management course Pune options deal with IT domain and still offer a chance to research. Also, at SCIT the participants are guaranteed complete support in terms of understanding the subject, planning their research and even interpreting the end results. As a result of this dedication, SCIT students have been able to accomplish several milestones in the research domain. The most recent one being the publishing of a working paper by former student Ms. Victory Abraham Erinle(MBA-ITBM 2011-13), Infosys Technologies Ltd & SCIT faculty-Prof. S. Vijayakumar Bharathi titled, "A Customer Retention Model using Balance Score Card for Small and Medium Enterprises in the Hospitality Industry" in the Social Sciences Research Network (SSRN) USA.

Relocating to a new business premises and fitting them out to your precise requirements - including controlling escalating office fit out costs - is extremely complex by its very nature and can be an overwhelming, even frightening, prospect if attempting to carry out the dual roles of an office fit-out manager & office relocation project manager as well as carrying on with your regular `day job' at the same time!

As one beleaguered office fit-out manager recently put it "The thousands of decisions facing the average office move manager today resembles a minefield - you simply can't see where the hazards are until you step on them".

Along with many other commercial property occupiers attempting to carry on a modern business in `tired' and often outdated office buildings, when utility cost reduction consultants The Monarch Partnership Ltd (TMPL) needed to update their 80's built headquarters building it was not only beginning to show it's age it was also impacting on their ability to plan properly for future growth.

Critically, apart from the lack of facilities to accommodate modern business communication infrastructure such as Cat5e data cabling and flexible small power distribution coupled with ancient suspended ceilings, dim lighting, worn (and often hazardous) floor coverings and a lack of modern staff facilities, the catalyst for doing something about it was the realisation that a good deal of the available (and increasingly valuable) workspace had become completely unusable.

The existing furniture too was also showing it's age and had become extremely restrictive for the collaborative working methods now required by TMPL. A further problem which had hitherto delayed the long overdue total refurbishment of this valuable workspace was that it needed to be carried out whilst the business remained fully operational.

TMPL's first attempt at `getting the ball rolling' in undertaking the much needed overhaul to their workspace saw them putting the work out to tender to six different sized contractors in a competitive tender. However, due to the lack of a tightly drawn `Specification of Works' the six quotations received back by TMPL resulted in six totally different `Scope of Works' descriptions and with six widely differing prices.

Since TMPL lacked the expertise in-house to accurately determine why the quoted costs and descriptions of work should have varied so greatly they realised that they needed the help of an external office refurbishment project manager.

Once the initial detailed brief had been taken, one of the very first tasks to be carried out by the subsequently appointed specialist office refurbishment managers and cost consultants was to write up a comprehensive `Employer's Requirements' document (ER).

This document would serve to both clarify what work TMPL actually needed doing on their Ground, First & Second floor premises, as well as providing a basis for a competitive tender which was subsequently to be arranged.

Following the compilation of an initial tender list, a copy of the ER's and a PQQ (Pre-Qualification Questionnaire) was sent to each tenderer to complete. The completion and return of the `due diligence' sections of the PQQs quickly identified which of the tenderers were going to be the most suitable for this particular project and two Design & Build Contractors were short-listed to submit outline designs and budget costs.

Following a rigorous cost-comparison exercise when every cost element of the office refurbishment & fitout was scrutinised in fine detail - with submitted costs checked against current market rates - the successful D & B Contractor was quickly appointed with works commencing on site within a week.

The existing fixtures & fittings were quickly stripped out leaving just the `shell & core' of each floor ready to receive the new fit-out. With a programme time of just six weeks to complete the first floor fit-out and three weeks for the second floor there was no time to lose in completing each phase of the work.

The new office refurbishment & fit-out works included:

    * New underfloor trunking/cable ways

    * Cat5e structured cabling installation

    * New small power installation

    * New 3-compartment floor boxes for power/data

    * New Suspended Ceilings

    * New LG7 lighting

    * Decorations throughout

    * All new 10-year contract carpet tiles.

Once the proposed new desk positions had been carefully marked out on the floor the new 3-compartment underfloor trunking for the data & small power installations was positioned ready for the screed-chasing to be carried out. (Outside normal working hours to keep noise and disruption to a minimum).

Fortunately, with every aspect of the office refurbishment & fit-out having been carefully planned and documented by the project management team the first floor works were completed bang on time enabling TMPL to move all personnel from the Ground & Second floors to the newly refurbished and fitted-out First Floor. The empty second floor was then stripped out and totally refurbished to match the first floor finishes.

Needless to say, TMPL was delighted with the transformation of the interior of the building from the previously dowdy, inflexible workspace to their vibrant new office workspace where clients & visitors alike are always welcome at any time.

Employees are also enjoying working in the much-improved workspace environment with softer, but brighter lighting, with easy access to break-out areas, kitchens, etc. to hold the more informal gatherings so important for staff moral and, with it, higher productivity all around.

So, should you, or your company ever contemplate `going it alone' in trying to manage your next office refurbishment - or even relocating the business altogether - with a `million' other things to think of with plenty of room for error if you're trying to manage all the different sub-trades as well - is it worth risking blowing the budget or employing `cowboys' (or even losing your job) trying to go it alone?

Article Title: Determining When Herniated Disc Surgery is Necessary

    *********************** ARTICLE START ***********************

Many patients who are diagnosed with a herniated disc wonder about surgery: Will an operation make my neck or back feel better? Is surgery necessary? Can I choose not to have surgery? Fortunately, many patients soon discover that surgery will not even be considered as a possibility until nonsurgical treatments have proven ineffective for several weeks or months. This article will discuss nonsurgical treatments for herniated discs in a very broad sense. If you require information about your unique spinal health and which nonsurgical treatments will best provide the relief you need, be sure to consult with your physician.

    Medication

Some patients who had automatically assumed they'd need surgery for their herniated discs are surprised to learn that their medicine cabinet could already contain a remedy to their pain and discomfort. Over-the-counter, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) such as ibuprofen are effective at relieving many herniated disc symptoms by reducing inflammation and relieving pain. If you suffer from a cardiovascular or gastrointestinal condition, then your physician may advise you to take an over-the-counter analgesic like acetaminophen instead. If ibuprofen or acetaminophen fails to relieve your discomfort, your physician may prescribe a narcotic pain reliever or muscle relaxant.

    Hot/Cold Therapy

The application of heat and/or ice can sometimes prove very effective at relieving the symptoms of herniated discs. Applying ice to the neck or back (at the site of your herniated disc) can reduce inflammation and relieve pain. A heating pad, on the other hand, can increase the flow of nutrient-rich blood to the area (in order to promote healing) and relieve muscle tension. Your physician may advise you to alternate between heating your neck or back and icing it, or he or she may recommend using one or the other exclusively.

    Physical Therapy

Working with a physical therapist to increase the strength and flexibility in your neck or back could provide many long-term benefits. A stronger neck or back can better support the spine to relieve some of the pressure that's contributing to your herniated disc, and can help prevent other spinal conditions from forming in the future. Your physical therapist may employ other treatment techniques, such as transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS), massage therapy, and posture modification exercises.

    Surgery

If a nonsurgical treatment regimen hasn't provided the level of relief you require, you may need to consider undergoing herniated disc surgery. While nonsurgical treatments aim to relieve the symptoms that occur when a herniated disc causes neural compression, the goal of surgery is to decompress the affected neural structure. This can be accomplished either through traditional open back surgery or with a minimally invasive procedure. Both types of herniated disc surgery come with certain risks, all of which should be thoroughly discussed with your physician before you consent to any type of surgical procedure. It may be wise to consult with another physician to ensure that you do, in fact, require surgery and that your condition was even correctly diagnosed to begin with. If you're still not comfortable with undergoing an operation, ask your physician if there are any other conservative treatments or alternative therapies that you can try.
