If you've ever experienced losing your job, you know the hurt and frustration. But, how do you deal with the stress when your spouse loses a job? You feel some of the same shock and hurt, but this time you also have to be a comforter, cheerleader, coach, and the sole financial provider for your family. This is no easy task.
4 Different Stresses – On your spouse, your family, your relationship, and on you.
The stress you feel when your spouse loses a job is a multi-line attack. You know you need to support your partner, boost his self esteem and encourage his efforts. But that doesn't mean you know the best thing to say.
If you have children, they need comfort, and reassurance, and your relationship has needs of its own. You want to help your partner, but you may also feel guilty if you don't always feel as supportive as you think you should.
It's OK to admit it. You may be mad as hell.
When you first hear the news that your spouse is unemployed, you feel deeply sorry for what you spouse is going through. But you may also feel angry, and not know why. Are you mad at your spouse for somehow letting you down? Or are you mad at life? It doesn't really matter. You can face it easier if you accept it as normal, like the anger that comes with grief.
Let that anger go, and make a plan to deal with the stress of your spouse's unemployment.
1. Comfort and encourage first. There will be plenty of time to tackle your budget. Right now your partner needs to know he is still loved and accepted. If you practice a religious tradition, this can be an excellent time to reach out together in prayer, and take comfort in your faith.
2. Count your blessings. Give thanks for all the good that is still in your life. Acknowledge the strength you've gained from past challenges, and be confident you can overcome this as well.
3. Cheer for your team, while momentum is high. After the initial shock, your spouse may experience a burst of creative energy. Capture that "we can do this" confidence, and applaud his efforts.
4. Don't cancel your gym membership. Any kind of strength training can combat feelings of powerlessness that occur while waiting for interviews. And meditative exercises like yoga or tai chi help calm frayed nerves.
5. Find your center…for stress yet to come. The first few weeks of unemployment are the easiest to get through. Use that time as much as possible to meditate and stay calm, because you'll need it if the stress of unemployment drags on.
6. Become a "tough love" coach. It's an old story. You come home from a long day at work, and find your unemployed husband (or wife) still in pajamas and the house a mess. You don't know whether to scream or sob.
Your spouse may have started the day with big plans, but quickly became discouraged and overwhelmed. Burying your resentment helps no one. A good coach wouldn't let him slide, and neither can you.
Coping with the stress when your spouse loses a job is never easy, and you don't have to do it alone. Whether it is a job coach or a counselor, help is out there. Getting your spouse up and outside, even if for a long walk, helps break the cycle of defeat, and may remind him that you are still a team.
Have you experienced the stress of a spouse losing a job? We'd like to hear it. And don't forget to share us on social media.

There are several online stores that offer discounts and deals to lure shoppers. However, Amazon has been the biggest online retailer and the reasons are many and obvious. What makes the Amazon class apart from other similar sites is that it offers a wide range of promotional codes and discount coupons which can be used to shop for an exhaustive range of products from local as well as international online Amazon outlets. The economic downturn and the gradual trend of preferences being trimmed down, the biggest online retailer has made shopping even more affordable and easier for its loyal customers by providing them a wide-ranging array of discount coupons and vouchers. To be a vehicle spare part, electronic items, shoes clothes, fitness equipment, bags, jewelry, cosmetics, DIY tools, kitchen appliances, gardening tools, home decor items or computer accessories, you can find a discount voucher or a coupon code easily.
Today, the World Wide Web is flooded with couponing websites that offer discount vouchers and coupons for items that are generally used on a day to day basis. However, only a handful of websites will offer great discounts on all products that you desire to buy. And Amazon.com is one such online store. It is a one stop store in the true sense and you can easily count your substantial savings when you buy your favorite products here.
As a shopper buying stuff at Amazon, you can easily evade the market price or the retail price and delight in the savings which you avail through Amazon coupon codes while you browse the web for competitively-priced purchases. These money-saving vouchers and codes are designed for customers who can advantage from delightful discounts. The Amazon coupon 10% off voucher is popularly used by many shoppers to purchase various items like shoes and computer accessories.
It is quite easy and hassle-free to look for the right Amazon coupon code and avail exciting discounts. All you have to do is key in the needed product title followed by the discount coupon code keyword in the search bar on the site and you will be given a complete list of the suitable promotional codes. Now, you have to choose a coupon code and enter the code number correctly in the given field when you check out. When you do this, the amount mentioned in the code will be deducted from the total bill and a new bill amount will be recalculated for which you need to make the payment. Suppose, if you use Amazon coupon 10% voucher, then enter the code correctly and your bill amount will be slashed by 10 percent.
When you are going through the list of coupon codes, it is also essential that you choose a valid promo code. The discount amount on the same coupon can differ on different days, based on supply and demand.
When you use a discount voucher, you don't just buy the item at a slashed listed price but you can also stretch your budget to buy more products in the same stipulated budget.

"How to start an online business" is a question many people are asking themselves these days. That's because conducting business online has become widespread and is no longer the preserve of a few multinationals or geeks. According to the Interactive Media in Retail Group (IMRG), there are approximately 3.5 billion people with Internet access in the world.
In addition, global eCommerce revenues will top the $1.25 trillion mark in 2013. In some countries such as China, eCommerce sales will grow by 130% in 2013 alone. These statistics show that one can make money selling goods and services online. Here is how to start an online business:
Identify A Consumer Need
To succeed as an entrepreneur online, you have to identify a consumer need that you can fulfill. This involves thorough research both online and offline.
For example, you could visit and interact with people on Internet forums and social networking sites to find out if they have certain unfulfilled needs. You could also carry out keyword research to find out what people are searching for online. Finally, you could talk to industry insiders such as real estate agents to get a good grasp of the real estate industry.
Build An Online Store
One of the ways to to sell goods online is through a virtual store. The good news is you do not have to build everything from scratch because there are e-commerce platforms such as Shopify, Volusion, and Magento with tons of features that you can use to set up online store.
Make sure your e-commerce site has social media buttons to make access from social networking sites easy. Hire a data security expert to go through your site and ensure that hackers cannot access confidential information such as your customer's credit card details.
Stock Your Store and Advertise It
With the site up and running, stock it with goods and advertise it aggressively online. This is necessary to make consumers aware of your business.
Depending on your marketing budget, you can opt to rely on organic search engine optimization (SEO) or paid advertising. Organic SEO involves optimizing your site to attract as many visitors as possible.
This includes improving page load speeds, creating great content, easy site navigation, as well as attractive site design. On the other hand, paid advertising involves paying companies such as Google to place your site on the first page of search engine results pages (SERPS).
Invest In Data Analytics
You cannot become a serious e-commerce player without tracking and analyzing your store's performance. Major e-retailers such as Amazon and EBay have their own data analytics teams and software tools to slice and dice data.
The insights they glean from data analytics efforts helps them price goods and services, offer discounts, offer recommendations, and even detect credit card fraud. Some of the key statistics to keep an eye on include conversion rates, bounce rates, traffic sources, and unique visitors.
All in all, to start an online business, you will require Internet access, a computing device (laptop, desktop, tablet, or even smartphone), a bit of cash, and the zeal to become an entrepreneur.
After this, identify a consumer need and find a solution to this need. Build an online store to deliver the solution, advertise it, and track its performance. With the necessary tweaks and and adjustments you will be on the way to building a successful online marketing business.

While on your fall Outer Banks vacation, grab your binoculars, field guide, and camera and then head to the Cape Hatteras National Seashore to witness the spectacular arrival of migrating raptors.
Every fall, hundreds of thousands of hawks, falcons, eagles, and ospreys, which originate from summer breeding areas as far north as the Arctic, fly to their wintering habitat. Some of their destinations are as far away as southern South America.
Most raptors are soaring birds that depend on updrafts to help them travel. With model efficiency, they ride updrafts and thermals where they lock their wings and rarely need to flap them. Upon reaching enormous heights, they dive at an angle covering great lateral distances where they catch another updraft and repeat the process. These maneuvers enable them to conserve their body fat and travel long distances in just a few weeks.
Because they are reluctant to cross large bodies of water where there are no updrafts, kettles of migrating species follow well-defined land routes and shorelines as they navigate toward their southern homes. For this reason, certain geographical locations become concentration areas where these birds of prey gather prior to crossing a narrow stretch of water. These locations, such as the Outer Banks, are excellent places to observe migrating species.
Here are some species that you might encounter on the Outer Banks, plus information about their eating habits that will help you decide where you can best spot them.
Accipiters
These birds of prey of the Accipitridae family are slender with short, broad, and rounded wings and a long tail that aids their stealth flight and quick turns as they pursue other birds on the wing. They use their long legs and long, sharp talons to kill their prey, and use their sharp, hooked bill for feeding. These hawks often ambush their prey, mainly small birds, and capture it after a short chase.
Accipiters that visit the Outer Banks include the following:
• Sharp-shinned Hawks: These raptors surprise and capture all their prey from cover or while flying swiftly through dense vegetation. The majority of this hawk's diet includes small birds, especially songbirds.
• Cooper's Hawks: Some raptors, such as the Cooper's Hawk, remain in North America and hunt birds in backyards or any place where people set up feeders.
Falcos
Falcos, or Falcons, have long, tapered wings and tails. These agile, high-speed divers prey on other birds and small animals.
• Peregrine Falcons: Peregrines have been clocked diving or stooping at speeds of up to 200 miles per hour, which makes them the fastest-moving animals on Earth. These falcons feed primarily on birds that they capture in the air such as ducks, pheasants, and pigeons.
• American Kestrels: This small falcon hunts by hovering or perching and scanning the ground for prey. Its diet consists mainly of insects, reptiles, small mammals, and other birds.
Pandions
• Ospreys: The Osprey, the only species in the Pandion genus, is a fish-eating bird of prey that hunts during daylight. The Osprey's talons are adapted for capturing and carrying fish. The talon surface is course and their toes can be positioned with three forward and one back, or with two forward and two back, an arrangement used by owls but not by other diurnal raptors.
Buteos
Buteo is a genus of medium to large, wide-ranging raptors that have a stout body and broad wings. These are the soaring hawks that most people recognize. All species are somewhat opportunistic when it comes to hunting as they will prey on almost any type of small animal. However, most have a strong preference for small mammals and mostly rodents.
Buteos that you can see on the Outer Banks include the following:
• Red-tailed Hawks: The Red-tailed Hawk is carnivorous and an opportunistic feeder. Its diet is mainly small mammals, but it also eats birds and reptiles. Their prey varies with regional and seasonal availability but rodents can be up to 85% of a Red-tailed Hawk's diet.
• Red-shouldered Hawks: Red-shouldered Hawks are permanent residents throughout most of their range; however, northern birds do migrate, mostly to central Mexico. Red-shouldered Hawks hunt small mammals, particularly voles, gophers, mice, moles, and chipmunks. They are also known for hunting rabbits and tree squirrels and attacking birds as large as pigeons.
Eagles
• Golden Eagles: Golden Eagles use their agility and speed combined with powerful feet and huge, sharp talons to catch a variety of prey such as hares, rabbits, marmots, and ground squirrels.
• Bald Eagles: The Bald Eagle is an opportunistic carnivore.
Fish makes up about 56% of their diet, depending on their range, and they also feed on birds and mammals. It is common to see them scavenging their meals.
Birders from all over the United States visit Cape Hatteras National Seashore to enjoy the fall migration of these awe-inspiring birds of prey. On your fall Outer Banks vacation, take your family to one of the lookouts along the seashore where you can watch the raptors hunting in the thickets and over the waters.

Two interesting definitions from the Urban Dictionary.
1. Young-minded: When a person does something that is so stupid, you simply must dismiss their actions as coming from an immature perspective.
Example: Rhianna was talking young-minded when she said she's in love with a thug.
Definition of Thug (noun) a violent person, esp. a criminal.
synonyms: ruffian, hooligan, vandal, hoodlum, gangster, villain, criminal
2. Young-minded: Not mature, inexperienced, naive, lacking intelligence
Example: Bobby could not hold a job because he was young-minded.
MY PERSONAL OPINION: I believe the advice that is given by parents is worth listening to. A youngster may not agree with their parent's, however their advice is still worth listening to. Class is always in session. Every day we learn something new... do you actually believe that a teenager has learned more life lessons than a 40 year old? I say no. If this were the case then teenagers would be school teachers, and adults would be hung-out into the pastures. Knowledge merely gives a person the ability to negotiate issues more logically and to have more options in life… I learned this from my cousin Phyllis—my listening-ears were on. I have learned so many great/important life lessons from those who are older than I am…my cousins Kevin, Phyllis and James.
When parents are trying to give advice to young people and the young person cuts them off, as if the know what they are going say...is merely preposterous. A teenager could not possibly have adequate experience to be able to predict what their parents are going to say…this type of action only causes communication problems between child(ren) and parent(s). Listen to your parents or other intelligent adults. They are trying to tell you something that will help you to negotiate something better than the way they handled it…when they were young-minded.
Why do think that parents fuss so much about having good grades in school and going to college? Because they know that without an education, you are going to be in a very tough spot when you get older. When you are young-minded you may not see this point yet. Why find this out the hard way? Just follow the guidance of intelligent adults.
Some young people believe that when they finish high school, they can move out and get an apartment. Well…one small problem. Who's going to pay for that? Teenager: "I will". Adult: "where you going to get the money?" Teenager: "I will get a job." What the teenager does not realize at the time is; it is very tough to find a job that will pay enough to live on your own…with a high school diploma, only. The young-minded never knew that they had utility and rent deposits…upfront. Some utility deposits are $250 for new services. New cable services are $150. Apartment rent deposits could be from $1800 to $2500…and that's living in the hood. I have a gut feeling that a grown up tried to tell them that, but they failed to listen. Why find this out the hard way? Just follow the guidance of intelligent adults.
Wouldn't you want to know rather there is danger around the corner…from someone who has been around that corner and survived it? I would.

At first it sounds strange for me to disclaim deals on helicopter tours like that. But I've been at this a long time and its just lately where travelers are walking in with some crazy prices.
I'm not sure where they are finding these rates. Heck, I'm not sure they're real. But I do sense that companies out there are getting really creative when it comes to air-tour pricing and that's where I think I can shed some light on the matter.
Case in point is a gentleman I recently helped. He called up asking me to match a price he found somewhere on Las Vegas Strip helicopter tours. I heard him out, wondering where in the world did he get it so cheap.
Then it came out. It was a "blue-light special." Not sure if you out there are familiar with K-Mart, which was a huge retailer in the US This company used to fill a shopping cart full of cheap, out-of-date merchandise, turn on a blue siren and make a storewide announcement about the sale.
It worked like gangbusters. Every time.
But I can tell you this. The stuff in the cart was being liquidated. Meaning K-Mart wanted to unload it at a price people found irresistible. And it worked.
I'm not sure how happy people were with their purchases when they arrived back home. Most of the time the stuff broke or was good for few turns and that was it. But think about it. Over time, if you shopped and lived like this, good chance that cheap and fair would cost the same.
So what's my point, right?
It's this: If you see a ridiculously low price on a Grand Canyon helicopter tour, question it.
It's most likely that the tour is what we call "bare bones." Meaning it comes with nothing. By contrast, a quality tour offered at a fair price should come with lunch, hotel transportation (to and from, not just to the terminal... Yes, I've seen it) and include all taxes, fees and surcharges (and yes, here, too, I've seen surcharges applied at check in).
Like many, I used to chase down any deal that saved me a few bucks. Over time, I've learned to restrain myself. Now I operate on getting a "fair" deal. This type of offer means getting all the extras plus a cancellation policy wherein you don't have to arm-wrestle some person in customer service to get your money back.
As for the tours themselves, there are two kinds: Aerial and landing. Take the former if you have limited time. These trips, too, are also the cheapest (you're looking around $230 per person at the time this article was written). However, if you can afford it, by all means book a landing tour.
Landing tours get you up close and personal with the canyon, and that's really what it's all about. Las Vegas has the best of the bunch, with the one that lands at the bottom being by far the most popular. I've flown it and just the descent alone is worth the money. But that's from my perspective. Thus as you go into this, keep in mind what you want to see and do and trust your instincts when it comes to price.
Have a great flight!
