    *********************** ARTICLE START ***********************

One of my favorite times to visit the Grand Canyon is during the holiday season. Lots of folks will claim it's too cold but I think the lower temperatures are worth the extra effort, especially considering that for the most part you'll have to the Park to yourself.

For me, the cold weather advisory really applies to the South Rim, which is located 277 miles from Las Vegas and a couple hours north of Sedona, AZ. There you just might encounter some snow on the ground, which is a great thing because the canyon looks incredibly beautiful with a little powder on its nose.

As for the West Rim, expect temperatures to be more moderate and kind of like what you'll experience if you are staying on the Las Vegas Strip. Do note that shorts and sandals won't cut it at the West Rim. There will be a bite in the air and you'll feel it. So dress for comfort but don't go overboard in the casual department.

I get a lot of questions about what to wear so let me address it here. You'll want to go in layers. This is where you have an t-shirt, a shirt, a sweater and a light or medium-weight jacket. As the day progresses, things will most likely warm up and you'll want to shed a layer or two as you see fit. I also recommend you wear a hat, sunglasses, gloves, sturdy footwear and long pants.

During winter, timing plays a big part. I typically advise my readers to skip any air tour that has you at or in or on top of the canyon before 8 a. M. This really applies to Las Vegas travelers who get enticed by the 7 a. M. Bottom landing tour via helicopter. Skip that one, regardless of the price. It's cold and to a certain extent you won't get the best light. Instead, opt for a helicopter ride that gets you there between 9 a. M. And noon.

Remember, too, that there are fewer trips during winter and that the days are shorter. How does this affect you? First, sunset helicopter tours will be taking off around 3 p. M., which means you'll be getting picked up earlier from your hotel and checking in at around 2:30 p. M. Selection will also be reduced, which can lead to sell outs, so book ahead of time to guarantee your spot.

I know it's ironic that tours sell out in winter of all seasons but it happens with regularity. The only kinds of tours that escape this are bus tours and that's because they seat nearly 50 people and thus there's more capacity. However, don't get complacent. Check the weather. If you are taking a South Rim bus tour, there's always a strong chance it could be delayed due to weather (this is especially the case with South Rim trips).

Don't let weather hold you back from a canyon tour. If you book with the best companies, you'll get a 24-hour cancellation policy that entitles you to a full money back refund. Or you can reschedule at no charge. Really depends what works best for you. My point is that you should feel comfortable pre-booking your trip (which I highly recommend) and not have to worry if you get in a wrestling match should you require a refund.

I hope this article about taking a winter tour to the Grand Canyon was helpful. These end-of-the-year months are an incredible time to see the National Park and I hope to see you up there getting your share of this US National treasure.

Article Title: Grand Canyon - Helicopter Tours Over Thanksgiving

    *********************** ARTICLE START ***********************

Lots of travelers are asking if Grand Canyon helicopters will be flying this Thanksgiving and the answer is "yes." In fact, they'll be flying on a regular schedule, which, if you read between the lines, means it will be a busy holiday weekend.

Taking the busy weekend theme a step farther means me advising you guys to book your helicopter ride in advance. Typically I recommend a week ahead of time. But if you can't, try to do it 72 hours prior. You'll save money and you'll get the flight and time you want.

The other key thing is to make sure you book a tour with a decent cancellation policy. Holiday plans change, as well know, including helicopter tour companies. That's why you want one that includes a cancel policy that refunds all your money if you can't do the flight within 24 hours of take off.

Further, its wintertime, folks, and the elements can be unpredictable. Indeed, out here in the southwest, winters are mild compared to, say, those in New England. But inclement weather can still raise its ugly head. Again, reputable companies know this and will reschedule you free of charge or give you back your money.

I can't see into the future but sometimes Las Vegas in particular can get unseasonably warm. Don't let that lull you into dressing too light. What I mean by this is to don shorts and hoodie. The West Rim and the South Rim get cold and you want to make sure you dress accordingly in order to enjoy your tour.

Las Vegas helicopters will get you to the West Rim and back while South Rim rides go over just that area. Please note that Vegas helicopters don't do the South Rim. If you're interested in that, I strongly suggest you take a airplane flight and combine it with a helicopter tour.

From Vegas, you get your pick of air and landing tours. Air will be your cheapest choice and landing your most expensive. I recommend you go air if you are on a budget and want a tour that gets the job done. But if you have the extra money and you truly want to experience the canyon, do a landing tour.

In particular, do a landing tour that goes to the bottom. This is an extra special flight because it can only be done from Las Vegas and it can only be done at the West Rim. There are flights like this at the South Rim because the National Park Service bans helicopters there from doing it.

For those of you doing the South Rim, which is where you'll head if you are based in Sedona, Phoenix or Scottsdale, go with the longer flight. It's usually 50 minutes in length and it covers an incredible amount of the National Park. I've done this particular flight many times and I'm always amazed how much of the Park's most important highlights are covered.

    Conclusion

Thanksgiving holiday and weekend are here and if there's a great time to take a helicopter tour it's now. Go from Las Vegas or from key cities in Arizona. In Vegas, I'm recommending landing tours, and from the South Rim, I'm vouching for the 50-minute flight. But in reality, any canyon flight is a winner. Enjoy and happy holidays!

While some marketers are wary when it comes to network marketing (MLM), the program offered by Russian company Faberlic merits further investigation. Mainly, MLM has acquired a bad reputation, due to concerns about market saturation. However, usually, saturation is not a problem if the company in question offers a high quality, evergreen product. Faberlic is one modern, multi national company that aims to do exactly that, with its' unique skincare range.

Established in 1998, Faberlic has grown to be one of the world's top MLM and oxygen cosmetics companies. As a member of the Direct Sales International Association, it operates via a network of freelance sales consultants. Presently, Faberlic is represented in twenty-four countries across the world. Over one million affiliates are said to be successfully marketing Faberlic cosmetics to millions of customers worldwide.

    The Products on Offer

The Faberlic range features skincare products that contain various active ingredients and a unique oxygen complex. Also, there are haircare and body products, ammonia free hair colorants, perfume and make up, and numerous seasonal accessories. Faberlic runs its' own clinical research facility, with ongoing trials to enhance the standard of their products.

All Faberlic's skincare cosmetics are made in their own Moscow manufacturing plant. Their make up is manufactured by INTERCOS (the large Italian corporation), and their perfume is designed by world renown perfumers from France. Reportedly, millions of people use Faberlic cosmetics on a daily basis.

    Signing up

Anyone over the age of fourteen can sign up to Faberlic as a consultant. This is fast and easy to do on their website. You simply enter your name, telephone number and address details into the online form, and you can begin straightaway.

After signing up, you will be able to purchase the company's products at cost price. Then, you can sell the products at catalogue prices, with a fifty percent mark up, to the general public. The fifty percent mark up represents your profit on each sale. There are no restrictions on the amount of products you can buy or sell per month. Also, there is a further opportunity to earn money with the "Structural Work" advertizing plan. The company provides more details about this, once you have registered.

Deciding if This is for you

To successfully promote Faberlic products, you will have to be able to convey scientific details to prospective customers in a clear, jargon free manner. Also, you will need basic sales skills, because the Faberlic brand is not as well known among the general public as other brands, like Oriflame or Avon. Thus, the product will not sell itself, so you will have to be proactive in this respect.

Notwithstanding, although there are other oxygen cosmetics companies out there, Faberlic are the first to see the potential in their business model for an MLM opportunity. Currently, the public at large does not know much about these products. Hence, there is little doubt that, in the coming years, the industry will attract major publicity, once new research has been carried out.

    *********************** ARTICLE START ***********************

"How to succeed in network marketing?" This might be the first question that comes into your mind when you think about network marketing. You also probably have an idea of how network marketing works and what it's all about--a housewife buying and selling a variety of products to her friends or neighbors while gossiping.

Or it could be a high-pressure salesman trying to persuade you how easily you can become a millionaire if you and your family and friends — and their friends and so on — would buy and sell products such as Tupperware, vitamins, etc. with him. Both of these images are not far from the reality of network marketing.

It is neither a get-rich-scheme nor a hobby but a chance for you to make money running your part - or full-time business. But, what does it really take to succeed in this industry?

Here are some simple rules to consider.

    Choose the right company

The first step is to get in with the right company. Today, there are a lot of companies to choose from, but how do you know which one is right for you? Here are some simple rules to follow.

Stability -- how long the company has been in this business?

Excellent services or products -- are the company's products or services useful to consumers? Do they need more of it?

Pay plan -- how even or fair and generous is the distribution of products? The pay plan shows you exactly how you will get paid, or not get paid. There are only two questions to ask about this: How much out of each sale will be paid back every month, and how fair is the distribution of profits between the new members and the old members?

The management and integrity of the company. As much as possible, check the experience of the CEO, president, managers and other officials of the company, including their experience or knowledge in network marketing, and most importantly, their background. Have they been doing well in other companies in the same industry? Do they have a positive reputation?

Momentum and timing. Check where the company's at, what is going on with the company, and if it is growing.

Training, support and business systems. You may be in a great company with good management, products or services that make a difference, a pay that is very generous and uniquely fair, and stability and momentum, but if the company do not have a system in place that works well, all of that doesn't matter. Most companies in this industry should have a convenient training system that they use, and that is where mentorship comes into play.

Practice what the company teaches you

To be successful in network marketing, you shouldn't be reluctant to learn and listen from mentors. The way the network marketing industry is structured, it is in the best interest of the company to teach you how to succeed in network marketing, so they are ready to educate you how the system works. Whatever the company did to become successful, it is very duplicatable, but should have the willingness to listen and be taught and follow those systems.

    The higher-ups

This can be called in many different things, but the general term is the "Upline"--meaning the people above you. You should check how supportive are they? Do they keep you updated with the latest development of the company? Are they committed to helping you succeed? You should relate to the people in your upline and contact them at any time to say "I need help."

Manage, train and teach your downline properly

There's a term in this industry called "orphans"--when an individual is recruited and the person who recruited him or her is just so busy recruiting other people that he do not spend the time to train and teach the new recruit. You should be ready to spend at least a month helping your new recruits come into the industry--supporting them, training them and guiding them until they become confident to go off on their own. You should ask yourself, are you ready and willing to do that? Do you have the capacity to do that? This is really about building a long-term relationship. It's not about just recruiting people into the business and just moving forward. It is about working with these people and helping them to establish good relationships.

    Utilize the internet

The Internet is one of the most powerful tools for marketing your business. You can set up your website with autoresponders so that when you drive leads, the autoresponder can check or follow with that person. One of the important keys to success in network marketing industry is follow-up. A lot of people will have someone contact them who are interested or they will contact the person and say they are interested, but then they do not to follow up with it. The Internet is a great tool to streamline the follow up process, but the only drawback with it is that people may use it to spam.

Learning other factors and ways on how to succeed in network marketing is also very important. Have a support team around you. Try to seek the help of lawyers who deal in network marketing, as they are well versed in all the laws and how that impacts your business. Also, there are accountants that specialize in dealing with home-based business specifically in the network marketing industry.

Article Title: The Advantages of Using Portable Gas Heaters

    *********************** ARTICLE START ***********************

If you live in a region where extremely low winter temperatures are the norm, then you probably know and appreciate the importance of heaters. However, you may not be aware of the new portable gas heaters that can be very useful in warming you up during the cold season.

There are many other types of gas heaters such as vent-less heaters, which do not emit or absorb air from the outside, so they are in vogue nowadays. While these heaters may be environment-friendly and more efficient, they need ample ventilation in the house so as to prevent the inhabitants from suffocating.

The Merits of Portable Gas Heaters:

    * They are easy to move around because of their small size, so you can use them in all the rooms you have in your house. When you move from one room to another, you can take the heater with you; or you can use it for outdoor heating when you go camping or other excursions.

    * Compared to centralized heating systems, these heaters consume less energy. This means that you can save a lot of money on your energy bills.

    * These portable heaters are more friendly to the environment than regular heaters. Since they are vent-less, they cannot pollute the environment when they are turned on.

    * These heaters are also more economical than other heating mechanisms. This is because you will only be heating the room your are currently occupying, and not the whole house, as is normally the case with most heating systems.

    * These portable heating systems are small in size, so they do not require too much space. However, they need to be refilled more frequently than larger systems.

    * The heater can also be used in the garage to prevent the engine of your car from freezing during ice-cold winter weather. Since other forms of transport may not be available during winter, you must ensure that your vehicle is in good running condition.

    Safety Precautions to Observe

    * Before you start using these heaters, it is important that you carefully read the instructions. When using fuel-based devices, you can never be too careful. Ideally, you should use insulation materials of the highest quality.

    * You need to check the heater on a regular basis to ensure that there is enough gas to keep it operational. The tank should be refilled on time if the heater is to be used continuously. Once you start using these devices, you will be in a better position to determine the frequency of refills. The temperature you set on the heater and the period of time it stays on are two of the main factors that will determine how frequently you will need to refill the device.

    * When buying a portable heater, you should balance your need for an affordable device and operating costs so that you don't buy a cheap heater that will be too costly to maintain.

    Fueling Portable Gas Heaters

When you start using gas heaters, you need to keep track of the cost of fueling the device. You need to keep an eye on the cost of buying natural gas when using vent-less heaters in your garage. If the fluctuations in gas prices are quite significant, it will be very hard for you to predict the cost of operating the heater in the future. Propane heaters are more economical than electric heaters.

Article Title: Electric Baseboard Heaters and Energy Efficiency

    *********************** ARTICLE START ***********************

If it seems your winter heating bills are increasing for no apparent reason, the problem may not be with the appliances but with the home itself. Even if the electric baseboard heaters are working correctly, almost one third of the heat they produce can escape through walls, floors and ceilings. Other places the air can escape includes ducts, fireplaces, plumbing fixtures and around the windows and doors. By ensuring the home is properly insulated and sealed, the occupant can help to improve the efficiency of electric heaters.

Occupants can also save energy by ensuring the thermostat of their electric baseboard heaters are set properly. At night or when planning to be away from the home, the thermostat temperature should be lowered. However, one should not turn off the heater completely, as it must work twice as hard and use more energy in the morning. When on vacation, set the heater to automatic and leave it at a reasonable setting, usually no lower than 60.

When you want to save money and reduce waste, it can help to ensure that the heaters are clean and that dust is removed. Anything that blocks the vents or exhaust can cause the heater to use additional energy. If buying a new unit, it should be Energy Star compliant. Owners may want to consider units that offer an anti-freeze function that will turn on the heat if the room temperatures drop to the point that pipes could freeze.

    Energy Efficiency

Some baseboard heaters are more energy efficient than others. For example the Fahrenheat PHH15002 is an oil filled baseboard heater that works well in rooms up to ten by fifteen feet. It offers several safety features and is ideal for use in offices, bedrooms or even small living rooms. These units offer two heating levels and a built I thermostat. It is easily installed and requires very little floor space.

For a larger area that must be warmed, the Marley PLF504 offers a hydronic baseboard unit. This model is only 28 inches long and easily blends with most furnishings. It can be mounted on the wall high enough that the occupants can easily operate a vacuum underneath the unit. It uses proprietary technology to provide energy efficient heating for a room using a freeze proof liquid to disperse the heat.

Heating a room when it is empty usually makes no sense. Dayton offers the UG01, a portable unit that can be transported with the occupants of a home to the room being occupied. This model offers cost effective heating in a stylish and compact unit that is made to blend with nearly any decor. It offers many safety features, such as a tip proof mechanism and auto shutoff.

When choosing energy efficient heating systems for one's home, make sure you know the available power for operating the heater and the square footage to be warmed. To keep the home comfortable in the winter, select a system offering long term benefits, including electric baseboard heaters for a comfortable house.

    *********************** ARTICLE START ***********************

Do you have rising energy bills and you have no idea why? The problem might be with your home and not with your appliances. You might have electric baseboard heaters that are working fine, but approximately 31% of warm air can escape through walls, ceilings and floors. Other places where you might be losing warm air is through plumbing fixtures, around windows and doors, through a fireplace and even your home's ductwork. Making sure that you have proper insulation and sealing can ensure the most efficient operation of your heaters.

Additional energy can be saved by making sure that the thermostat for your heater is properly set. At night when you are sleeping or during times when you are away from the house, you can turn the thermostat down to conserve energy. You should not completely turn off your heater, because it will require far more energy to restart it in the morning. If you leave for vacation, you can set the heater to its manual setting and set a temperature such as 60 degrees to keep it operating during your absence.

When you want to eliminate waste and save money, making sure that you maintain your heaters and ensure they are free of dust can help them operate more efficiently. Whenever there is anything that blocks the exhaust or air vents, it can cause your heater to need more energy in order to function. Of course, an Energy Star compliant heater will also help to save energy. You should also consider setting your heater to the anti-freeze feature, this will make sure that your heater turns on if the temperature in the room drops too low.

    Energy Efficient Electric Heaters

Most electric baseboard heaters provide energy efficient operation because they can maintain a set temperature in a room. The Fahrenheat Oil Filled Electric Baseboard Heater PHH15002 is excellent for maintaining warmth in rooms that are up to 150 sq. ft. in size. The PHH15002 comes with several safety features making it ideal for the living room, bedrooms and even an office. There are two heating levels, as well as an electronic thermostat that is built in to the unit. Additionally, the heater is simple to install and takes up very little space in your room.

If you have a larger space that you need to keep warm, the Marley Electric Hydronic Baseboard Heater PLF504 is something you might want to consider. This unit is 28 inches in length and easily blends in with other furnishings. The PLF504 is designed to be mounted on a wall with enough elevation to allow for easy vacuuming underneath. This electric baseboard heater comes with proprietary technology that utilizes a freeze-proof liquid to keep a room warm.

When it comes to energy efficiency, heating a room that has nobody in it certainly does not make sense. The Dayton Portable Electric Baseboard Heater UG01 can provide efficient heating for any room in your home while solving this problem. The unit is stylish and compact, but also blends into any decorating scheme. Additionally, with a variety of safety features, the unit includes tip proof mechanisms as well as auto shutoff.

When you need a home heating system that is energy efficient, it is essential that you identify the type of heaters that are supported by your home, as well as the size of the space you need to heat. In order to ward off the cold of winter, a heating system that offers long term heating benefits, like baseboard heaters can certainly be advantageous.

In the past few weeks, major international aircraft leasing companies have "come to the party" with major orders for Boeing's Dream liner 787-9 and 787-10.In addition, an airline ordered the 787-8 and another came in with a launch order for Boeing's new 777X forecast to enter service at the end of this decade.

Air Lease Corporation (ALC) set the ball rolling with an order for thirty B787-10s and three 787-9 Dream liners, collectively valued at a total of $ 9,4-billion at list prices, thus fulfilling a commitment originally announced during this year's Paris Air Show.

This order for 787-9s and 787-10s adds to the more than 180 Boeing aircraft that ALC already has on order including Next-Generation 737-800s,737 MAX 8s and 9s ,777-300erS AND 787-9S.

    Gecas Follows

Within a day of the ALC announcement, came the news that another major leasing company, GE Capital Aviation Services (GECAS), the commercial aircraft leasing and financing arm of General Electric, had completed an order for 10 Boeing 787-10 Dream liners.

The order, valued at $ 2,9-billion at list prices, also completes the commitment originally announced during the 2013 Paris Air Show in June and builds momentum in the airplane leasing market for the 787-10.

These 787-10s bring the total number of aircraft GECAS has ordered from Boeing to 598 since 1995, including 737s, 747s, 757s, 767s, 777s and 787s.To date; GECAS has taken delivery of 451 Boeing aircraft.

    Chinese Order

The airline order for the Dream liner ,this time for the already-in-service 787-8,came from Xiamen Airlines which finalizes an order for six 787 Dream liners originally announced by the airline in May 2011.The order is valued at $1,3-billion at list prices.

The airlines expanding international network currently focuses on south-east and –Asia.

With the introduction of the 787 Dream liners beginning in 2014, the airline plans to launch new long-haul routes from Fujian to Europe, North America and Australia.

Xiamen Airlines currently operates a fleet of 97 aircraft, including 17 B737-700s, 74 B737-800s and six B757-200s .The flight network is comprised of 218 domestic routes and 26 international and regional routes.

The airline will take delivery of its 100th Boeing aircraft this month.

Founded in 1984, Xiamen Airlines is headquartered in the coastal city of Xiamen in the province of Fujian. The area boasts a thriving and diverse industrial economy as well as a growing tourism market.

    The Dream liners

The new 787-10, launched in June 2013, will extend and complement the Dream liner family, carrying 300 to 330 passengers up to 7000 nautical miles.

Boeing claims that the marquee will provide 25% more fuel efficiency than aircraft of its size today and more than 10% better than anything being offered by the competition for the future.

The Dream liner 787-9 completed its first flight in September and is scheduled for the first delivery in mid-2014.

The 787-10 will also feature the 787 family's unique interior. The interior technologies are said to make the passenger experience more enjoyable, including large, dimmable windows; cleaner air; higher humidity ; lower cabin altitude; bigger stowage bins; soothing LED lighting and a smoother ride.

To date, the 787-10 has accumulated over 100 orders and commitments from customers worldwide.

    Launch Order

Meanwhile, Lufthansa German Airlines has announced the selection of Boeings proposed 777-9X for its future long-haul fleet. The launch of the 777X family is targeted for later this year and entry into service is scheduled for around the end of the decade.

Advanced technology including a new composite wing, all-new engines and superior aerodynamics will result in the fuel efficiency promised by Boeing for the 777X family. The 777-9X ,with around 400 seats, will be the largest and most efficient twin-engine commercial jet in the world with the lowest operating cost per seat of any commercial airplane ,with no competitor in its market segment, the manufacturer claims.

"We are focused on developing and delivering a superior airplane that ensures the 777 remains the unequivocal long-haul leader," said John Wojick, senior vice president of Global Sales, Boeing Commercial Airplanes."With its new engines and an all-new composite wing design, the 777X will be the largest and most-efficient twin-engine jet in the world."

"Boeing and Lufthansa share more than 50 years of partnership and innovation and a tradition of launching new airplane models-starting with the original 737s and most recently, the 747-8 Intercontinental ," said Nico Buchholz ,Lufthansa's executive vice president and head of fleet."Lufthansa is demonstrating its legacy of innovation and market leadership again with its selection of the 777X .We look forward to many years of partnership with Boeing, as we make air travel more efficient, comfortable and environmentally sustainable with airplanes such as the 777X.

Earlier this year, the Lufthansa Group ordered six 777-300ERs for the fleet of Swiss International Airlines. Boeing will deliver the first of Lufthansa Cargos five new 777 Freighters later this year.

Bombardier Aerospace recently celebrated the successful first flight of its CSeries aircraft, a major milestone in the company's highly anticipated development program me that will provide operators with an all-new family of aircraft specifically designed for the 100-to 149 seat market segment.

The maiden flight marked the start of the CSeries aircraft's flight test programme leading up to the first customer delivery. It was also the first flight for Pratt & Whitney's new geared turbofan Pure Power engine as part of an aircraft certification programme.

The maiden flight of CSeries flight test vehicle one (FTV1) –a CS100 jetliner bearing Canadian registration markings C-FBCS – was conducted under the command of Captain Charles (Chuck) Eliis, chief flight test pilot, Bombardier Flight Test Centre. Capt. Ellis was assisted by his colleagues, Capt Andris (Andy) Litanviks and Andreas Hartono in the roles of first officer and flight test engineer, respectively .The flight departed from Montreal-Mirabel International Airport and lasted 2, 5 hours.

"The performance of the CSeries aircraft was very impressive! We couldn't have wished for a better maiden flight," said Capt. Ellis."FTV1s state-of-the-art flight deck was responsive and comfortable, and the aircraft handled exactly as expected .Overall, we had a very productive first flight and an excellent start to the flight test programme."

During its maiden flight, Series FTV1 reached an altitude of 12500 feet and an air speed of 230 knots.

In-flight tests included flap and landing gear retractions and extensions; in-flight man oeuvres that included a simulated landing; and early Validation of the flight control system.

"The patience, care and quality that has gone into the CSeries aircraft's development programme shone through today as we celebrate this milestone achievement of the first all-new, single-aisle aircraft that will revolutionize the 100-to 149 –seat commercial aircraft market-with its outstanding economics, reduced environmental footprint and exceptional flying experience.

"This flight takes us one step closer to putting the game-changing CSeries aircraft into service with our customers and their passengers," said Mike Arcamone, president, Bombardier Commercial Aircraft, at the ceremony after the aircraft had landed.

The first CSeries aircraft was greeted by more than 3000 Bombardier employees and Board members, customers, partners and suppliers, upon its return to the company's Mir able ,Quebec, facility ,where the final assembly line for the C Series aircraft programme is now under construction.

A total of five CS100 flight test vehicles, all of which are currently in various stages of assembly, will join the flight test programme in the coming months.

    The CSeries Aircraft

Designed for the growing 100-to 149-seat market, the 100% new C Series aircraft family combines advanced materials, leading-edge technology and proven methods to meet commercial airline requirements. Powered by Pratt & Whitney Pure Power PW1500G engines, the C Series aircraft family will offer a 15% cash operating cost advantage and a 20% fuel burn advantage.

With the extra capacity seating option, the CS300 aircraft's productivity further improves, offering airlines an average of 4 % additional cash operating cost advantage per seat.

The C Series aircraft's clean-sheet design is ensuring that the aircraft will achieve greatly reduced noise and emissions, as well as superior operational flexibility and airfield performance, as well as a range of 2950 nautical miles.

The C Series aircraft will be up to 5443 kilograms lighter than other aircraft in the same seat category and, Bombardier claims, will provide passengers with a best-in-class, wide-body cabin environment in a single-aisle aircraft.

At the time of writing, Bombardier had booked orders and commitments for 388 C Series aircraft, which include firm orders for 177 C Series airliners. Some 15 customers and lessees have joined the C Series aircraft programme.

    *********************** ARTICLE START ***********************

Seeing the Grand Canyon is on many people's bucket lists. So how do you go about getting there and making the most of it? Take a tour.

Well, it's not exactly that simple, but it's not hard either if you know how to go about it. And I'm going to show you how.

The first thing you need to figure out is your starting point. For most people, it will be either Las Vegas or a destination in Arizona like Phoenix, Scottsdale and Sedona.

So, let's say you're in Vegas, which, by the way, is an awesome place to start because prices there are relatively cheap. You'll be able to pick from helicopter, airplane and bus tours.

Helicopter tours are by far the most popular and "sexy" but they are also the ones with limited seating. Flights leave daily and go to the West Rim. They either fly over the rim or they land.

Air tours are cheapest and the fastest. I, on the other hand, prefer to take my time when it comes to the canyon so I'm usually going for a landing trip. There are numerous variations, ranging from sunset flights to ones that include passes to the Grand Canyon Skywalk.

Airplane tours function in the same way in terms of the route flown and the kinds of side trips you can add-on. The big difference between airplane and heli is cost and altitude (planes fly higher). Planes, too, seat more people, so if your heli option is sold out I urge you to consider a plane trip.

At the South Rim, you can choose between helicopter and plane rides. The former is available as a 30-minute or a 50-minute flight. The airplane tour is only available as a 50-minute flight. No matter which you pick, all are superb. Me, I'm partial to the longer heli ride because you get to see so much the park, which makes it an ideal option if you are short on time.

Quick word about window seats. They are popular and to get them you'll have to pay extra. On helicopters, there's no guarantee you'll get one because seating is dictated by the cumulative weight of all passengers. However, I recommend still going for it. Planes are easier because there are more windows.

Air tours are at the top of the price range. If they are out of budget, most definitely consider a bus tour. These primarily depart from Las Vegas but there are ones out of Phoenix, too. Vegas buses go daily at 7 am Miss it and you'll have to wait until the next day.

Vegas buses go to the West Rim and the South Rim. The West Rim is closer. Despite that, both trips require a full day, getting you back to the Las Vegas Strip in the evening.

Quick bus facts: If you want the Skywalk, you go to the West Rim. If you want the "official" National Park, go to the South Rim. Lastly, bus tours are all-inclusive, which means they come with lunch, hotel pick up/drop off and all taxes and fees.

    Conclusion

So that's Grand Canyon tours in a nutshell. The big three are helicopter, airplane and bus. It's best to book all in advance so you get a seat as they've become quite popular. And that's all there really is to it. I hope to see you up here. Have a great trip!

In the years leading up to menopause, a woman may experience a variety of symptoms. Oftentimes, though, one of the most difficult changes for a woman to accept is the weight gain that typically goes hand-in-hand with her fluctuating hormone levels. Putting on some extra pounds is a common and natural part of the aging process; nevertheless, it can negatively affect one's self-esteem. This can be particularly frustrating for a woman who has maintained healthy eating habits and a general level of fitness throughout her life. Due to a slowing metabolism brought on by menopause, she may need to consume fewer calories, or burn more calories through exercise, in order to simply maintain her weight.

During the menopausal transition, which occurs most often between the ages of 40 and 55, a woman can expect to lose lean muscle mass and simultaneously gain approximately 12 to 15 pounds – even if she continues to eat right and exercise as she had previously. And, rather than evenly distributing itself throughout her body, this excess weight will tend to settle unattractively around her midsection, making her figure appear more rounded. The hourglass figure of her youth may slowly take on the undesirable shape of an apple.

What's more, a woman's concerns about her softer, plumper body should extend beyond mere aesthetics. Indeed, carrying excess weight can also increase her risk of serious health conditions, such as heart attack, stroke, high blood pressure, osteoarthritis, and breast cancer, among others. Therefore, to combat these extra pounds, a woman over the age of 40 would be well advised to begin with lifestyle changes, such as increased aerobic exercise, proper hydration, adequate rest, and a healthy diet that incorporates proper vitamins and nutrients. Then, if her weight gain continues to no avail, she may choose to consult with an experienced cosmetic surgeon about her surgical options.

    Liposuction

Liposuction is a surgical procedure intended to work in conjunction with diet and exercise to eliminate localized pockets of stubborn fat and improve the overall contour of the body. The best candidates for lipo are individuals who maintain a relatively normal and stable weight and have sufficient skin elasticity. Common areas treated in women over 40 include the abdomen, flanks, hips, thighs, and back.

Typically, liposuction necessitates one or more small incisions, which a surgeon will try to make in the natural folds of the skin in the area to be treated. The surgeon will then repeatedly insert a cannula, or thin suction tube, through which excess fat cells are broken down and extracted from the body. The results can be long-lasting if the patient commits to maintaining her weight.

    Brazilian Buttock Augmentation

The shape and height of the buttocks are important features in creating the desirable "S-curve" of a woman's back, which, along with a rounded derriere, is a key element of an hourglass figure. Through a Brazilian buttock augmentation procedure, a surgeon can create an attractive, feminine curve with liposuction, fat transfers, and tissue manipulation.

A Brazilian butt lift begins with liposuction to remove bulges from another area of the body, such as the stomach, flanks, hips, lower back, or thighs. During this initial procedure, excess fat is gently harvested through a cannula to protect the live cells. The fat is then purified, after which small amounts are injected into the muscle layers of the buttocks to create a more well-defined, shapely rear.

    Breast Augmentation

Finally, a woman who has naturally small breasts or breasts that have lost volume due to aging, pregnancy, breastfeeding, or weight loss may be able to achieve an hourglass figure through a breast enhancement procedure. Her breasts can be enlarged with implants to a size that matches and balances her hips, which will add shape to her upper body and make her waist and lower back appear smaller in comparison, thus balancing out her silhouette. In addition to increasing her breast size, breast augmentation surgery can restore the firmness and shape of her breasts, and also improve their symmetry.

When performing breast surgery for the placement of implants, a surgeon will first create a pocket behind each breast. A silicone or saline implant is then placed in each pocket through a small incision made either under the breast, at the armpit, or around the lower edge of the areola. If the patient has sagging breasts – a trait that breast augmentation alone cannot treat – a breast lift may be performed at the same time to remove excess skin and reposition the breasts higher on the chest wall. A qualified surgeon can guide a woman's decision-making with respect to breast enhancement, including implant type, size, and incision placement, among other things.

Consult with a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon

The years prior to menopause can present challenges for even the most active and self-disciplined women. Any woman over the age of 40 who is interested in exploring cosmetic surgery as a way to reclaim her hourglass figure should consult with a highly skilled plastic surgeon who is Board Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery.

    *********************** ARTICLE START ***********************

Over time, the facial skin undergoes many changes that increase its fragility. As a person ages, the cells comprising his or her body begin to divide and renew more slowly, and the supportive middle layer of skin, or dermis, thins as a result. The production of natural oil (sebum) decreases, causing the skin to become drier and less supple. Proteins found in the connective tissue, such as collagen and elastin, which serve to keep the skin taut and elastic, also start to break down – and years of sun and ultraviolet light exposure will accelerate this process. Finally, the fat found in the deep layers of the skin, which helps to provide a plump, youthful appearance, begins to diminish as well.

All of these factors can cause the skin to wrinkle, loosen, and become more susceptible to the effects of gravity. Plus, repeated facial expressions and movements, such as smiling, squinting, and chewing, can lead to the formation of lines in the skin's surface. The reason is simple: As the skin ages, it loses flexibility and becomes less able to "spring back," resulting in permanent grooves along the facial muscles and in other areas.

For a patient who would like to soften the wrinkles, enhance the contours, and restore the youthful fullness of his or her face, there are options. Several innovative cosmetic procedures are available to rejuvenate the facial appearance and help reverse the ravages of time.

    Injectable Fillers

In recent years, improved technology has led to an increase in the use of injectable dermal fillers, such as Restylane®, Radiesse®, and Expression, to soften the appearance of wrinkles and improve the contour of the face. A facial filler treatment entails a series of tiny injections under the surface of the skin. Fillers, which consist of various substances, including hyaluronic acid, are no longer considered to be merely superficial solutions; rather, these products are now available in a wide variety of strengths and consistencies, and they can be mixed together to ensure the best possible result for each individual patient.

Fat fillers and Botox® can also be used to reduce facial lines. During a fat filler procedure, a patient's own fat cells are harvested from his or her buttocks, thighs, abdomen, or other problem area. The fat is then purified and injected into the lips, forehead creases, nasolabial folds ("laugh lines"), and sunken areas under the eyes to provide a rested and refreshed appearance. Botox involves injections of botulinum toxin to relax facial muscles and lessen the appearance of lines and creases. Botox can also be used to address thinning lips.

In general, the best candidates for fillers are patients in their 30s and 40s who are just beginning to see the initial effects of aging. Sometimes referred to as "liquid face lifts," dermal fillers offer many of the benefits of a surgical face lift with minimal downtime. However, a patient needs to understand that even though the results produced by fillers are now lasting longer than ever before, they will still eventually expire and must be repeated and maintained to ensure optimal and continual results.

Further, while fillers can be effective for adding volume to the face and treating certain lines and wrinkles, they cannot be used to tighten sagging skin or reposition deep tissue. Therefore, for certain patients, cosmetic surgery remains the best option.

    Face Lift

A facelift is a surgical procedure designed to correct sagging facial skin and muscles, as well as remove excess fat, in order to restore an overall firm and youthful appearance. To accomplish this, a surgeon will create incisions along each temple in the hairline, around the ear, and into the lower scalp. After any excess fat is removed from the jowls and neck and the underlying muscle is repositioned, the skin is draped over the new contours and the excess is trimmed away. As the incisions heal, the scars should fade into the hairline and natural contours of the face and ears.

A minimally invasive and less costly alternative to a full face lift is a mini face lift. Designed to focus on and rejuvenate a specific facial problem area, such as minor sagging around the cheeks, jawline, or neck, a mini face lift is best suited for patients who have lost skin laxity and are experiencing the initial signs of aging (it cannot be used to target the forehead or eye areas). In general, a mini face lift will produce a rested appearance that can be expected to last for five to 10 years.

    Additional Procedures

Depending on a patient's specific needs, any combination of additional procedures – including blepharoplasty, a brow lift, and a neck lift – may be recommended to restore a youthful appearance to the face. Blepharoplasty, or an eyelid lift procedure, involves the removal of excess fat and skin from the upper and/or lower eyelids to address drooping, puffy, and/or overstretched eyelids. A brow lift procedure, also known as a forehead lift, involves the repositioning and tightening of forehead and eyebrow tissues to reduce the appearance of lines and creases in the upper facial region. Finally, a neck lift procedure involves the removal of excess, sagging skin

and fat from the neck and chin to combat "turkey wattle neck."

    Consult with an Experienced Surgeon

Patients who are interested in facial rejuvenation are advised to consult with an experienced cosmetic surgeon who is Board Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. The surgeon can assess needs, answer questions, discuss expectations, and recommend a course of treatment to produce the desired result.

Gone are the days when large sized women sneaked to the sleep wear counter, for fear of being noticed or shying away from their boy friends or partners. Today, a voluptuous figure, with nice curves, buxom busts, alluring cleavages, and full bottoms are far more appealing and feminine, especially in plus size lingerie. Most men find a handful more enticing than bony elbows and thin legs. So you can take pride in your curves and be a nonchalant exhibitionist and flaunt with flair and flamboyance in your baby-doll lingerie! Welcome to the world of plus size lingerie!

The timeless black coloured lingerie can make the wearer look tempting and seductive. Black satin plus size lingerie can accentuate the texture of your skin, driving your man wild with desire, wanting to rip apart the fabric; and yet his eyes are toying with your curves under the beautiful colour! Black is the colour of night, promising dark secrets; an enigmatic colour that veils the truth, yet tempts the seeker to approach his goal with much apprehension. Black is also an adventurous colour. Some people find black lingerie the sexiest colour because it tends to suit and looks fantastic on most skin tones and hair colours.

Ever thought of white lacy, frilly plus size lingerie? Brides wear white lingerie in their first night in many countries, because white is the symbol of purity, virginity, softness, innocence and perfection, the colour has been an all time favourite among young women for eons! Complementing your creamy skin, or balancing the dusky hues of your complexion, nothing can hide the secrets of your ample bust and also the hidden recesses of your body like a silky white sheer plus size chemise lingerie!

Some real women who have a full figure choose lavender, turquoise or plum coloured plus size lingerie because the colours conceal, yet concurrently show off the tempting curves.

Add spice to your honeymoon with a red baby-doll! As a rule, guys tend to like sexy, red, lacy lingerie. This is different from what women tend to go for, which is usually something really girly and feminine like pink colored sleep wear. Plus size lingerie in cherry red, dark red, crimson all spell nothing but delightful craze, highlighting your curves.

Beside the colours which give men a fantasy, lingerie styles also give them a wild imagination. Lingerie comes in different styles, from modest long night gown, chemise with sheer coats, to completely see through and erotic baby-dolls, or everything in between. It is a rule of thumb to pick a lingerie style to suit your body features; you should choose something you will be comfortable wearing, as it will give you confidence and attractiveness.

It is important to know what you wear and how you wear it. You have beautiful curves and you know that, "When a woman feels good and passionate in what she's wearing, it will show on her appearance!" You will seduce your partner in no time with your new look in your sexy and stylish plus size lingerie.

Being good in affiliate marketing is not as easy as it sounds. Researching about affiliate marketing may convince one to engage in it and impulsively jump into the business without gaining enough knowledge and doing thorough examination. This can only lead to a total failure and waste of time. In affiliate marketing business, the technical stuff is not the only thing that should be considered. It is not as simple as putting a website and embedding the link of the product's website in it. Oftentimes, the things that are overlooked are the basics of marketing itself. The common sense of advertising is ignored, therefore resulting to a letdown. To become an up and coming affiliate marketer, one should review the things that attract consumers to click that one link and buy the product that will give both the company and the publisher the satisfaction they are looking for.

First of all, a good affiliate marketer should have a good reputation, and be able to maintain it. For one to become a trusted advertiser or publisher, the first rule is to never promote a product that the marketer itself will never use. Chances are, if the marketer promotes an inferior product, he may get some followers and generate some income for the meantime, but eventually it will backfire. He will sooner or later lose these customers because of non satisfaction and lost trust. People will later on perceive the marketer as just another man trying to squeeze money out of other people.

The next thing a good marketer should do is to be perfectly honest and truthful when doing product reviews. Exaggerating things will only shoo away potential customers. Reviewing a product as "too good to be true" will make the product unbelievable or implausible. Reviewing products as mediocre or ordinary on the other hand will render the commodity as a "not so good buy".

Subsequently, on the topic of product reviews, a good affiliate marketer often tests the products himself. Customers like firsthand reviews. It is not so appealing to buy a product when the review itself is just a compilation of evaluations and appraisals from random people. In this case, it is a good idea for an affiliate marketer to do his own video testing the product, thereby rendering the product being promoted more credible and convincing.

Lastly, a marketer should expand and try new products to be successful in affiliate marketing and gain good money. Different customers have various interests and diverse needs and wants. So, it is a good idea to go outside the comfort zone and test new products. When this is done, an affiliate marketer will be sure that his promotions will reach a larger audience, therefore optimizing his income potentials.

Not everyone is born a good sales person. Good thing there are proven steps on how to be good in product promotion and advertising. If these simple tips and techniques are followed, an aspiring affiliate marketer is guaranteed a good spot in the growing business of affiliate marketing.

Many people find success and satisfaction in affiliate marketing. However, much more people find disappointment and failure doing the same thing. What does the successful affiliate marketers do that the less fortunate affiliate marketers do not? Most of the time, it all boils down to the affiliate program and product they are representing.

In affiliate marketing it is not an easy task to look for the best program, company, or product to represent.

What all affiliate marketers should always remember is that the keystone of successful affiliate marketing is the choice they make in the selection of the right affiliate programs and products to promote. It is the most essential factor in optimizing income generation through affiliate marketing.

So what are the things one should consider when choosing the best affiliate program?

First of all, an up and coming affiliate marketer should consider the long term income potential of the program. Income generation through affiliate marketing has basically two structures. The first structure generates income based on the commission. The amount an affiliate marketer gets is dependent on the amount the referral pays for the services. On the other hand, the second structure of income generation is through payment of flat fees. An affiliate marketer will be paid a flat fee for each referral, no matter how much the referral pays for the services.

The next thing to look for when choosing an affiliate program is the cookie duration. The cookie is the virtual information that enables the company that sells the products to track every referral and customer an affiliate marketer brings in. When looking for the cookie duration, of course it is best to opt for companies that offer long term cookie duration.

Probably also one of the most important factors in optimization of income through affiliate marketing is the conversion rate. Conversion is the term used when a person redirected to the company's website through the affiliate marketer's promotion becomes a buyer of the products being advertised. If the conversion rate is too low, it is not advisable to choose that program. Maybe their prices are too high, or maybe their products are not that good.

Another factor to consider is the payment through second tier commissions. Programs that offer this kind of payment are hard to find, but when found will bring good money to the affiliate marketer. In this method, the marketer will be paid second tier commissions for every customer that is referred. It is basically an affiliate network of the affiliate marketer wherein he will get paid for what his marketers do.

Lastly, it is always good to look at the promptness and regularity of payment of the program. It is best to choose programs that pay the affiliate marketer immediately after each referral.

In affiliate marketing, success is often dictated by how smart the affiliate marketer is, not how hard he works. After choosing the best affiliate program, it is not long before a smart affiliate marketer find success promoting products and services for other people.

Affiliate Marketing nowadays is steadily gaining popularity because it is an alternative means of generating money passively with relatively little effort. With just a basic knowledge of the computer and the internet, and some connections or a good website to promote products, one can generate money without actually doing a great deal of work. However, one does not venture impulsively to this lucrative opportunity without knowing the basics of it. This article is dedicated to knowing what Affiliate Marketing is and how one can make money out of it.

Affiliate Marketing simply put, is promoting the products of other companies. In this scheme, there are three main players who form a cycle or triangle of mutual connection and benefits. These players namely are the advertiser or the company, who sells the products; the publisher, or the individual who promotes the products of the company; and the consumer, who actually sees the products and makes an action like buying it.

For example, if a company wants to advertise a product, they may require the help of affiliate marketers or the publishers. These affiliate marketers will then promote the product of the company through their websites, blogs, or in their video reviews. This promotion strategy is designed to generate traffic to the company's website by redirecting the consumer if they click the link in the promotion. This, optimistically, will help the company sell the promoted products.

So, in this idea, how does an affiliate marketer generates income? One word best explains it- commission. The amount of money an affiliate marketer generates is solely dependent on the number of people that actually clicked the link or the banner of the product being promoted, and then in turn, bought the product. This link or banner embedded in the publisher's website, is specially coded so the company can track how many people are redirected by the promotion that the publisher generated through his website. The link contains a publisher website ID, an advertisement ID, and a shopper ID. The shopper ID is used to recognize the publisher's website, wherein the product is being sold. The advertisement or ad ID is the number which represents the link in the promoter's website. This ID is used to track the performance of the website and credit the publisher when a sale is made. Lastly, the shopper ID is the tracking number of the target audience and buyer. When the company received payment through the sales of the product promoted, the publisher will then receive a percentage of its sales. The payment that the publisher will receive depends on how much the consumer paid. So, this means, the higher the amount of money the consumer is willing to spend on the products, the higher the percentage potential the publisher obtains.

In this generation of computers and internet, the amount of online sales is constantly rising. And, with the essential information listed above, one can be sure to make the most out of this technology generation and generate passive income through affiliate marketing.

Target Corporation, one of the leading retailers in the United States of America, has announced a bold program for its customers this month, and has promised to match the prices of other top online retail competitors such as Walmart and Amazon. This new policy that has been released by Target is similar to those that target has already implemented in the year 2012. Though this was once instituted as part of its holiday shopping season, the corporation is planning to continue this strategy all over the year. When eminent spokespersons from the company spoke on this merchandising operation from the target, he said that the company has received much positive feedback on its price match policy that has been seasoned for its holiday price match policy. The corporation has decided to get this initiative completely permanent.

With the help of this new policy from target, its customers would enjoy complete price match, that too with eminent retailers of the world, which would again be a proof of the lowest price offered by target for its customers. Its customers could score a price match retroactively, if they could bring a proof of lower price with another store such as amazon, walmart, babiesetc., within seven days of their purchase. Target would also perform price match at its own website and with any other deal that its users would find in their weekly advertisements. Customers of target who would use RED card from target could again get 50% discount on all of their purchases on top of their price match.

This holiday sales from target does feature few exclusions such as the store would not perform any price match with third party vendors on their websites such as marketplace sellers for Amazon. Target stores that are located in Hawaii and Alaska many not be participating in the holiday sale scheme and online prices at the target store could be available only with the help of percentage off promotions and clearance sales and are absolutely not eligible for its price match policy. Target would continue to offer price match discounts with its local retail competitors.

Target has announced it online price match policy exactly at the holiday shopping season to impress and encourage a number of show room shoppers, who strictly abide to buy products only from stores though they could buy the same at a much lesser cost online. It could be possible that target would get its profit margins shrink owing to its price match policy, and amazon would be having problem in churning out profit, by maintaining slim margins and low prices.

If a large margin of target customers come with price match schemes, then it would be a real problem for Target but it still continues to hold on to the policy and is willing to tighten its margins only for the scope of retaining its customers, who would be lost to the retail machine online. Target coupons would still apply on to the price matched items and target coupon codes 30% off, in stream would apply to all of its products at store.

The Yale University Library holds a medieval manuscript written in undecipherable code, in an unknown alphabet, in an unknown language, and it contains detailed drawings of more than one hundred plants none of which have ever been positively identified. Named after a bookseller who purchased it a century ago, the Voynich manuscript has been called the world's most mysterious manuscript.

Scholars think that the Voynich was written somewhere in Europe but it is unknown by whom. The text of the Voynich is of no help in determining authorship since it has never been decoded, and some of the world's best cryptographers have tried. But as the old saying goes, "One picture is worth a thousand words," and the Voynich manuscript is packed full of pictures. From these drawings, I have concluded that the authors of the manuscript were Cathars, a sect of religious heretics that prospered in southern Europe in the 12th and 13th centuries. Specifically, the evidence is as follows:

    a) in at least two different places the Voynich depicts Cathar women performing a baptism-like ceremony known as consolamentum, the only sacrament of Catharism. The Cathar Church had no formal clergy so a lay clergy of both sexes was empowered to perform this sacrament.

    b) the Voynich depicts the round table of the governing lay clergy of the Cathar Church both in the European winter (mixture of men and women fully clothed) and at a summertime resort (now only naked women sitting in the circle). In sharp contrast to other medieval religions, women played a major role in the Cathar Church.

    c) the Voynich depicts a European fortress with a round tower capped in a cone, exactly like the conned towers of the still-extant Carcassonne fortress, which was once a stronghold of Catharism and today is noted for its museum of torture, housing the original equipment used to convince the Cathars to repent.

    d) though the underlying alphabetic characters of the Voynich are unknown, the manuscript utilizes recognizable accent marks: three different Voynich accents (the hook accent, the bloop accent, and the crossbar accent) can be found in the Homilies d'Organya, a manuscript of the old Catalan language, that is, a member of the Occitan family of languages spoken by the Cathars.

    e) some of the women in the Voynich are depicted wearing an unusual top-of-the-head hair style, the same hair style seen in Europe in a medieval painting that depicts the Cathars being expelled from Carcassonne.

Moreover, please note that because of severe persecution by the Inquisition, the Cathars, more than any other people of medieval Europe, would have had a need to write in code. The Inquisition burned all the Cather literature that they could lay their hands on, so it unknown if, once upon a time, there were other manuscripts written in the Voynich script.

Radiocarbon experts from the University of Arizona have dated the Voynich manuscript to the early 15th century, between AD 1404 and AD 1438, which gives us a great anomaly. The Cathars --all half million of them-- are believed to have become extinct by the early 14th century, wiped out by the papal Crusades and Inquisition torture chambers. There were no known survivors except for reports that a handful of Cathars narrowly escaped the massacre at Montsegur in AD 1244, carrying with them the sacred relic of their faith. Apparently, neither these escapees nor their treasure (believed by some to be esoteric texts or the Holy Grail) were ever found.

The mystery compounds itself when we observe that no European botanist has ever identified any of the more than one hundred plants depicted, in great detail, in the Voynich manuscript. This raises suspicions that perhaps these are not plants of Europe after all but of some other place. Given the enormous diversity of exotic plants depicted in the manuscript, one place that quickly comes to mind is the Amazon rainforest of South America. This could also explain all the naked women seen in the Voynich manuscript, ie the survivors of Montsegur fled to the tropics where clothing was not particularly necessary.

I was elated when I found a picture of an Amazon plant with pointed green leaves and bunches of red berries that looked just like one of the Voynich plants, but then I discovered that similar plants exist elsewhere. The Voynich, however, has some extremely peculiar plants, so much so that they are suspected of being purely fictional concoctions. One such plant can be found between pages numbered 2 and 3 in the Yale PDF file, which is available online. I found a modern photograph of that plant and acquired rights to post it on my website, where I am currently awaiting the opinion of professional botanists on whether or not it is the exact same species.

It is doubtful that this plant --a tropical underwater plant of odd shape with one floral offshoot but lacking branches and leaves-- could even survive in Europe let alone be found there. Whether by disease, headhunters, or perhaps intermarriage with the natives, no Cathar settlement in the Amazon rainforest survived to see the arrival of the Conquistadors, but the Voynich manuscript nonetheless raises the intriguing possibility that the French Cathars reached the Americas ahead of the Spanish, by more than two hundred years.
