When I was young, my father used to play the lotto religiously. It was like flossing his teeth or cleaning his lawn mower, he will never miss on draw if he could, bless his heart. Nowadays, there are so many permutations of the lottery that you can get lost in a sea of numbers. One particular lottery game that is gathering so much popularity nowadays is the lottery Powerball.

But how does the lottery Powerball work? In Powerball, you are required to choose a combination of 5 numbers from 1 to 55, and then you are to choose one Powerball. The first five numbers are called the white numbers while the Powerball is the red number.

There are several ways that you can win in the lottery Powerball, much like the other lottery games. For example, say you get all 5 white balls and the one Powerball, hitting this can make you take home the lottery Powerball jackpot. The chance of winning the jackpot is one in 146 million.

Now, if you get all 5 white balls only and not the lottery Powerball, you get a pay out of $200,000, which is not a bad winning prize. If you get 4 white balls and the Powerball, that gives you the $10,000 prize. If you hit 4 white balls, then that gives you one hundred dollars to take home. Hit 3 white ones and the red Powerball, you also take home $100. If you hit 3 white balls, that give you $7. 2 white balls and the Powerball, that also gives a $7 winning. One white ball and the Powerball gives you a $4 while hitting the Powerball only gives you a $3 winning.

If you want to win in this lottery Powerball, here are some tips and tricks that you have to consider:

    1. Make sure the lottery agent plugs in your correct numbers in the machine. Because unlike the other lotteries where the cashier can cancel a ticket, in the Powerball lottery, this cannot be done. Use a Powerball betting slip and run it through the machine to avoid human error.

    2. Most people who do not like to strain themselves use the "Quick Pick" option. This may be a very tempting thing to do but avoid doing Quick Picks.

    3. That being said, do not rely solely on luck to win. Buy a lottery system, create your own or even just observe past historical data.

    4. You may also use the wheeling strategy in this game if you know how to do this lottery strategy.

    5. Do not forget to claim your prize if you do hit some numbers and end up getting some winnings. Most people tend to bet and forget which is a total waste of money.

    6. The only way that you can surely win in the Powerball, or any type of lottery for that matter, is by getting yourself a lottery system that uses historical lottery winnings data, lottery trends and calculations in determining the winning combination. You can develop a system of your own or you can avail of lottery systems being sold by lottery veterans over the web.

Nowadays, lottery is fast becoming a popular gambling game in the entire world. Millions of people everyday set their foot in front of a lottery outlet, carving out all their precious numbers, and breathe luck to their tickets. Once they have their ticket in the palm of their hands, they prepare themselves for the results, anxiously waiting for the result. And when the draw begins, more than half of those millions crumple their tickets, and a small percentage of those millions jumps out for joy, luck has favored them indeed.

While there isn't really a single strategy that can make you a multi-millionaire in a flick of a switch, there are some lottery software programs that can help you determine what the future draws will be. The gambling industry are aware of the hardship that lottery gamblers experience to taste even just a small part of the entire jackpot money. Thus, they came up with lottery software programs that can help these hopeful fulfill their dream of become a lotto winner.

A lottery software program can determine the future draws using the past trends. It analyzes all the patterns during the past draws and predicts the future draws. Some people say that the trends in a lottery game repeats over time. Thus, the role of a lottery program is to simply understand what has happened during the previous draws and relates it to the future draws. If you are to bet, you need to follow what the software tells you. It will give you some options regarding what number combinations are best for the future draw. It also use some specific variables that can help in analyzing the future trends. Some of these are numbers that didn't come out during the previous draws. The software will then study these numbers and probably give you a sign that these numbers has a high probability that it can come out during the next draw. However, that is not always the case. Still the future outcome will depend on the previous outcome.

There are a lot of lottery software programs offered over the Internet today. Some are even free. Before you buy a software, make sure that it is from a reputable company. You need to buy a software that is manufactured by a well known brand. If you do not know the good brands, you can always check out the reviews from people who have tried using a lottery software program. You can get a lot of insights and ideas from people's testimonials. Of course, the reason why you are buying a software is because you want to win in lottery, therefore you have to buy a software that has already produced a lot of lottery winners and still producing more and more everyday.

It is important that you arm yourself with a good lottery software, for you to have consistent winnings. You need a software that can greatly analyze trends and other specifics that can help predict the outcome of the coming draws.

Are you one of the millions of people around the world who keep on forking out money to bet in the lottery? If you have no qualms about gambling away your hard earned money, the least you can do is to make sure you have a better chance at gaining back your money. Since there are thousands and millions combinations in the lottery, you have probably one in several millions of chances to win in the lottery. The more the numbers you have to pick are, the lesser your chances of winning are. There are states where there are as few as 25 numbers to choose from while there are also states that have as many as 59 numbers to choose from. Your odds depend on the lottery game you are playing and the numbers that you are playing. There is a way to improve your odds with the lottery number system. It is difficult to cheat the lottery, not to mention, it is also illegal to do any form of cheating even in gambling. There are not guarantees that a number combination picked by a lottery number system will be the winning number combination. If a lottery number system you are considering promises this, then it is better to stay away from that particular lottery system.

There are differences in the way these lotteries are played in different states. While a lottery number system can work in most lotteries in the United States and even in other parts of the world, there is no guarantee that the lottery number system can make you win in all your bets all the time. Developers of these lottery systems have taken time and effort to study previous drawings to come up with the best possible number combinations with the highest probability of winning in the following draws. By using these tested lottery number systems, there are no more random guessing for number combinations or using sentimental numbers to place your bets on. Gone are your days of betting without basis. Now, you can play the lottery and treat it like a steady source of income. Sure, there are no guarantees that you'll hit it big time. But, the consistent wins you will experience by using a lottery number system will bring in the money in a steady stream just like a regular job would.

Lottery is gambling. Lottery is a game of numbers. Lottery is a game of probabilities. Millions of people around the world are hoping to have the probabilities on their side as they continue to patronize their own country's or state's lottery. Millions and billions of money are at stake in these lotteries with the great number of people putting their money into the lottery pot. Only a percentage of these bets are actually put off as winnings. You can take your part in this pool of funds. You can be one of the few people who have experienced the thrill of winning in the lottery when you let the lottery number system, a system based on past draw results and trends, work to your advantage.

How much protein do you eat? Do you even know which foods are strong sources of protein or why we need to eat protein?

A lack of protein in our diet can result in a weak immune system, slow your growth if you are still growing, and potentially weaken the heart and respiratory system. It is essential for our health and well being.

Protein gives us the 'get up and go' that we need each morning. Our bodies need a good source of protein to maintain our cells, tissues and organs. During digestion, protein is broken down into the 20 amino acids that are the basic building blocks our body requires.

Depending on which Amino acids that link together, protein molecules form muscles, hormones, enzymes and many other tissues.

There are two types of amino acids:

    • Non essential – ie can be made by the body

    • Essential – ie cannot be made by the body and need to be sourced from food. There are nine 'essential' amino acids.

There are also two types of protein, animal and plant. Animal protein contains all the 'essential' amino acids and can be got from eggs, fish, meat, poultry and dairy. Oily fish, such as trout or salmon are great examples.

Protein from plants contains many amino acids but not all the 'essential' amino acids. So, green vegetables, beans, pulses, cereal, grain, nuts etc. To obtain all the amino acids you need to eat a variety of these.

The Institute of Medicine recommends that adults get a minimum of 0.8 grams of protein for every kilogram of body weight per day. The source of protein be it animal or vegetable, should have the same effect on your health. On average we should aim for 55g for men and 45g for women.

    Some examples:

A 6 ounce steak is a great source of protein. Theoretically 38 grams worth. But it also has a high fat content of 44 grams. 16 of those are saturated fat, that's three quarters of the recommended fat intake. So remove as much of the fat as possible before cooking.

A 6 ounce Salmon will provide about 34 grams of protein, with 18 grams of fat, but only 4 grams of which are saturated fats.

Try cooking some lentils – a cup has around 18 grams of protein but less than 1 gram of fat.

A skinless chicken breast has about 40g of protein

So when focusing on protein, also look at the fat content.

The best animal source will always be poultry; chicken, turkey etc, or fish. With red meat remove the excess fat and do not eat large portions.

Beans are a fantastic source of protein, also nuts (unsalted). Soya products are also good like Tofu and vegetable mince. Try some seeds like sunflower or pumpkin. Pulses are also good, eg lentils, chick peas and various beans like broad, butter and black-eyed.

Dairy too is a good source, plus also a rich source of calcium. But choose non-fat or low fat products.

The aorta is the largest blood vessel in the body, originating from the heart, supplying oxygen rich blood to organs in your chest and abdomen, and dividing into the iliac arteries supplying blood to your legs. An abdominal aortic aneurysm is a dilatation of the aorta greater than one and a half times its normal size, due to weakening of the wall. The most common location is below your kidney arteries, although it may involve the kidney arteries or extend above them, involving the arteries supplying blood to the intestines, liver, stomach and spleen.

About 1.7 million people have AAAs in the United States and 190,000 new cases are diagnosed annually. The incidence has tripled since 1970, and about 50,000 repairs are performed annually.

An abdominal aortic aneurysm occurs from weakening of the wall. Genetics, cholesterol and fatty buildup (plaque), smoking, high blood pressure and inflammation can lead to weakening of the wall and aneurysm formation. An abdominal aortic aneurysm may be lethal because as it enlarges, it may rupture. Most AAAs have a significantly higher chance of rupturing when they exceed 5 cm in size, or if they grow rapidly (> 0.5 cm/yr). When they rupture, bleeding occurs and usually leads to death.

To determine if you have an AAA, your medical doctor on routine history may ask you if you have had a family member with an aneurysm, or a history of flank, back, or abdominal pain, or blue toes. Also, on routine physical examination, your doctor may identify a pulsatile abdominal mass. If an AAA is suspected, a non-invasive ultrasound can detect an aneurysm and a CT scan can determine its size.

Abdominal aortic aneurysms should be repaired when they exceeds 5 cm in size, grow more than 0.5 cm/ year, are causing back, side or abdominal pain, or are showering clots to the legs causing blue toes, or if rupture occurs. There are two ways to repair a AAA, by open surgery, or minimally invasive, endovascular surgery.

Open surgery consists of an incision in the side or down the middle of the abdomen, with possible incisions in the groins. In simple terms, organs are moved to access the aorta, it is clamped above and below the aneurysm, the aneurysm is opened, and clot is removed. A synthetic graft is sewn to normal aorta above and below the aneurysm, and the wall of the aorta is wrapped around the graft. Circulation is then restored, and the abdomen is closed.

Endovascular repair can be performed under local, spinal, or general anesthesia. Either small incisions, or needle punctures are made in the groins. Needles, wires, sheaths and catheters are directed into the aorta, and under X-ray guidance, measurements are made and a stent-graft is deployed inside the aneurysm, excluding it from circulation. The stent graft is held in place by stents, hooks, or pins against the wall of the aorta. A completion picture is taken to make sure no leak is present, and the groins or puncture sites are closed.

Patients with abdominal aortic aneurysms should consult with their physician about the risks and benefits to the types of surgery in order to make the most appropriate decision for their individual needs

    *********************** ARTICLE START ***********************

Millions of people are fooled into believing those myths by savvy marketing and less-than-scrupulous mechanics. For example, the idea that your vehicle must have regular oil changes every 3,000 miles is an absolute falsehood. Similarly, your technician's advice to have your radiator flushed once a year is more for his bottom line than for preserving your cooling system. Despite this, a lot of drivers spend unnecessary time and money following such advice.

In this brief article, I'm going to describe two common fallacies about car maintenance. These are myths that are perpetuated not only by your local mechanic, but by your dealership's service technicians. Learn them and save your money. You will be glad you did.

    #1 - Frequent Tune-Ups

Unless you're driving a vehicle that was built when disco was still the rage, your car's engine probably doesn't need a tune-up. The service was performed in order to adjust the engine and moving parts during a time when carburetors were installed in every model. Today, the only car parts that need "tuning up" are the spark plugs. And those just need to be replaced every 50,000 miles. Everything else - the ignition, fuel injection, and idling of the engine - is controlled by computers.

Unfortunately, dealerships continue to tell their customers that they need to bring their vehicles in for a tune-up after 60,000 miles. That's not surprising. After all, it increases their revenue.

    #2 - New Air Filters

Think back to the last time you took your vehicle in for an oil change. Did the mechanic suggest a new air filter? Did he subtly imply that your car might sustain damage if you neglected to replace it? This is a common misconception. First, the air filter catches debris before it can enter the engine. Over time, the filter can accumulate so much dust and dirt that very little air can flow through. At that point, it's a good idea to replace it. But, it takes a long time for the air filter to reach that stage.

Of course, that doesn't stop auto technicians from recommending the replacement every time you visit. From their perspective, you come to their shop ready to spend $20 on an oil change and end up spending $40. What's not to like?

    Auto Maintenance Education Saves Money

Your vehicle requires ongoing preventative maintenance. That's what helps ensure that it will last. But, it's too easy to waste valuable time and money following bad advice from mechanics and dealership technicians. Remember, their goal is to increase their sales; many of them are willing to do it at your expense.

Chances are, your vehicle doesn't need regular tune-ups. Nor do you need to replace the air filter as often as your mechanic might suggest. As always, follow your owners manual. It's the best way to keep your car in great condition. If you find a mechanic you trust and believe is treating you fairly, then he will be your mechanic for the life of your car and all other vehicles you own.

Regardless of how well equipped and secure newbie parents show on the surface, each one of them faces times of tension in between all of the anticipation. Getting ready for the new member of the family entails a lot of things to be well thought-out, such as setting up the nursery, figuring out what assistance will be considered necessary and purchasing more than adequate newborn baby garments.

As far as clothing are concerned, luckily there are now plenty of places to purchase both baby garments and baby paraphernalia. The option of clothes has definitely extended since the 1970s when I had my kids. Not only do shops and stores like Target and Wal-Mart have particular baby sections, but there are also specific baby shops like Babies r Us so it is already a one stop shopping. A new source is the Internet so you can select almost anything for the new baby in the ease of your own home.

When you consider the required gear needed for your newborn you instantly think of car seats, baby stroller and cribs. But evenly significant is also the question of what essential baby clothes will you have to have for the first couple of weeks? And how many of every item do you need?

Whether you are purchasing baby garments for a girl or a boy there is no specific number of items of clothing that is necessary. It is significant to have sufficient quantity of fundamental baby clothing for a day or two so that you don't have to be frequently fretting about having to wash the soiled clothes every day.

Newborn babies can run through an astonishing quantity of clothes changes in a day so clothing that are easy to get on and take off make good logic. So which baby clothing does it makes sense to have? Here is a list of baby garments that are sensible for the newborn:

    1. Ensure that you have no less than six to ten snap suits, either plain ones to be used underneath pants and tops or the adorned ones as outdoor wear when the climate is warmer.

    2. Use baby onesies in the first couple of weeks during the day - you'll need around six to ten of these.

    3. For use throughout those night-time diaper changes, make sure to have at least four to five baby gowns since they help make the job a lot simpler.

    4. Five to ten bibs - even though kids can't take solid food yet, they do tend to drool and spit a lot.

    5. Make sure to keep infant's feet warm with socks, regardless of how well the home is heated. You'll need five to six pairs of socks.

    6. Purchase a large quantity of burp cloths so that your clothes can endure for more burp sessions!

    7. Settle on which kind of hat goes with the weather you're likely to experience. Make sure to get at least two of them.

Please always remember that every infant's needs and behavior are diverse and as a result the list of infant's clothes above cannot be really exact. Specifically, the rate with which you want to change your baby's garments will affect the numbers.

Faux fur baby garments, also known as false fur or cool fur, are clothing stuff intended for babies and toddlers made of artificial fibers produced to bear a resemblance to real fur. The most repeatedly used substance is cotton. This kind of material was fashioned in 1955 and has established its strongest support from the unexpected of groups: animal welfare, animal rights, and environmental groups. Even though fun fur baby garments encourages the plan of putting on dead animal hides even if they are man-made, these three groups' authorized bearing is that fun fur offers an animal friendly replacement to long-established fur. The animal rights and welfare, and environmental groups have lend a hand endorse this stance in current times to parents. To that conclusion, this substance has played a part to the decline in real fur sales in different parts of the world.

Environment aside, false fur offers five advantages over genuine fur since it is lighter, is more long-lasting, can be machine washed, has fewer coming offs, and has a lower likelihood of an allergic response. The stuff as well does not have to be hand sewn like authentic fur. What's more, it can be produced anytime of any year and in every color swiftly and with economies of scale. Authentic fur has the benefit of thickness and a more normal consistency.

False fur baby outfits really became very popular back in the early 1990s when the animal rights associations began promoting the products to parents, even co-sponsoring or complete paying for a quantity of advertisements. Since then a lot of products for babies and toddlers have popped up in this cottage business. The material is well-liked in both the United States and Canada.

The most fashionable artificial fur baby garments are humid hats with flaps intended to bear a resemblance to Russian winter hats, baby blankets that are soft and temperate, and throw rugs, which are particularly suitable since they also loop around the baby's head and neck. Other matters include stroller blankets that stick into the merchandise and boots and mittens to maintain the baby warm. Lately, the fashion has extended to toys and dolls which contain teddy bears and other lavish toys.

False fur merchandise tends to come in four central hues. Beige and chocolate are the most well-liked colors closely followed by black/dark brown and grey. The consistency tends to be soft. A fresh progress by some manufacturers is adding up an additional cotton lining to avoid coming off while serving the dual-role of sturdiness for machine wash.

In terms of geographic fame in the United States, artificial fur first took origin in the northeast, for the most part the New England region and then extended to the Great Lake States such as Illinois, Indiana, Minnesota, and Michigan. In current years, reputation grew in even the warmer environment Southwest and Deep South States. Mothers have a preference over false fur than thicker clothing in addition their appearance is still original enough to cause astonished reactions.

Yes it is factual that baby clothing don't last long with babies growing up as fast as they do, but taking care of a children's garments is still just as, if not more, significant. One of the most important reasons good garments care is so crucial is to guard an infant's skin from irritating matters. For the reason that the household uses of a lot of unusual chemicals has increased in present society, the delicateness of human skin has been greater than before, and babies mainly have the most delicate skin of all. A parent must be perceptive to any foods or matters that their babies have allergies or intolerance to. In other ways, taking care for kids and baby's garments is comparable to adult clothing, but on a much smaller size.

Strong detergents are uncalled for even for adults, so it makes common sense to get one detergent that will work for the entire family. By using a gentle detergent, all of the garments will emerge just as hygienic, but without the great quantity of irritating chemicals that can cause rashes for a baby's sensitive skin. In some conditions it is better to cease from using of some detergents at all. As an alternative soap for delicate skin and hot water will get garments dirt free, but will take extra time. There are a number of "baby" detergents that are sold to the young parent group as detergents that are improved for babies' skin, but there is no actual variation from these and other gentle detergents. Baby detergents are only an additional way of marketing to the baby retail business. When buying a mild detergent, parents ought to look for a material with no added fragrances or colors.

The moment the garments are washed, drying them as intended for should be all right devoid of the use of a fabric softener. The best way to dry baby garments is on a clothesline, but they ought to hang in an enclosed spot that is not in contact with pollen or insects which may trigger allergies. It is vital for the garments to be fully dry before they are pack away or worn by a baby, and hanging the garments on baby's clothes hangers will help stay their form. Baby garments hangers and children's hangers are an imperative piece of garments storage for children for the reason that small clothes tend to gather and drop their form more simply.

Fresh clothes should constantly be washed prior to wearing. Just like fresh clothes they can be rigid and irritating to adults, fresh clothes are even bad for newborn and little children. The same is factual for any kind of hand-me-downs. Dust mites and further irritating stuff can collect on any type of garments that has been in storage for quite some time.

Additional care ought to be taken in any condition concerning a baby, and garments care is only one of them. By following these little guidelines, skin rashes and other skin problems will be one less item to fret about, and baby's garments will stay looking fine.

    *********************** ARTICLE START ***********************

In 1856 Thomas Burberry, a 21 year old draper's apprentice, opened his own store in Basingstoke Hampshire England. This was during the height of the British colonial period. The English had long romanticized the notion of civilizing the world and looking very fashionable while doing it. As a result there was an increasing need for durable but elegant outdoor wear. Burberry tapped into this trend perfectly. Sales at Burberry were great and the brand recognition spread across the world. In 1880 Burberry invented gabardine, a tough, water resistant yet breathable fabric. The popularity of gabardine spread like wildfire and boosted Burberry's name beyond prominence and into the realm of fame.

Burberry became the official outfitter of many adventurers such as Roald Amundsen, the first man to reach the South Pole, and Ernest Shackleton, who led a 1914 expedition across the Antarctica.

During World War I , Burberry was commissioned by the British War Office to modify the officers coat to suit the conditions of "contemporary" trench warfare. This style of coat became known as the "trench coat" and became very popular with civilians and remains so to the present day. Perhaps the most famous aspect of Burberry, their trademark check pattern, was created in the 20s for the inside lining of the trench coats.

Burberry's popularity continued to a slow and steady build through the 1930s, 40s and 50s, as a clothing line that became associated with the British spirit of adventure. It was not until 1967 that the Burberry Check was used on luggage, scarves, fragrances, and accessories. Some years later the Novacheck pattern was released for a younger demographic, and by the mid 1980s, Burberry expanded its product line to include underwear, hats, eye glass frames, dresses and designer watches. By the late 1990s, under the direction of American CEO Rose Marie Bravo, the Burberry profits enjoyed double digit growth. The Burberry brand had grown into a global fashion powerhouse, worn by celebrities and the fashion elite.

While Burberry continued its seemingly unbeatable winning streak, in the late 1990s, an interesting phenomenon was occurring. British soccer fans , traveling abroad to follow their teams playing in Europe, would periodically loot local stores after games. Soccer fans would single out the distinctive Burberry brand for its British identity and upscale look.

After several years of looting stores and taking the clothes, violent British soccer fans – known as hooligans – found like they were less conspicuous in foreign countries if they were wearing Burberry clothes, as they were not considered the attire of British thugs. Burberry clothes became something of a disguise and an inside joke among the hooligans. Between 2000 -2002, this hooligan- Burberry subculture became further influenced by the "Gangster Rap" American subculture that exalted in beat heavy music with tough lyrics that espoused the importance of gaining material wealth by taking violent, illegal measures.

This Burberry subculture then morphed into what became known as the "Chav" subculture. The Chavs celebrated the Burberry brand even more than the hooligans. The classic Burberry Check became an unofficial Chav motif, epitomized by the Burberry checkered cap that was very popular among the Chav subculture. This social trend was widely regarded as a near deadly blow to the Burberry brand, as its association with the Chav culture became so well known that Burberry even became banned in many pubs across the United Kingdom.

Corporate executives at Burberry had previously dismissed the "Chav factor" as a serious threat to the their brand. But when Burberry discontinued the manufacture of its checkered caps and CEO Rose Marie Bravo resigned in 2005, many suspected the this was due to the company wanting to distance itself from the hooligan – Chav image.

By 2007, the Chav subculture was beginning to wane, and Burberry began to show signs that the company would outlive the dark associations of the past. In 2008, Burberry revenue jumped 22% from the year before. This is particularly impressive when considering the present economic downturn in retail. At the time of this writing in 2009, Burberry's stock is on the rise, consistently beating growth estimates. Burberry's past reputation as an adventure brand, as well as its present reputation as a luxury brand, has shown an impressive resilience.

You recently had your first date with someone. You have your date's number and you are eager to thank him or her for the date. Daters should remember that the first call is also crucial as this is the continuation of your first date. Firsts are always on an edgy state so you have to still take note of all your actions.

Below are tips you can practice and put to mind when calling after the first date:

Thank your date. It is customary that the first call should contain the thank you message about your first date together. But it would also be nice to send a text message right after you had the first date just to remind your date that you appreciate all the time and effort with him/her. Hint: Keep your "thank you" short and sweet.

(Guys) Wait for two days before calling. Give it time before calling you date. You do not want to have an impression that you are too eager to talk to her over the phone. However, taking too much time before talking with you date is not nice too. It will show that you are not that interested. A two-day wait is just fine.

Observe time during the first call. Daters should not spend too much time talking over the first call. You don't want to give your date the impression that you are too needy to talk to each other. Remember that if you got all the signs right, there are still a lot of time to talk about things.

Practice what to say. Before even calling, take some time to practice the things you are going to say. This is to avoid stammering on the phone. It is best to have a list of the things you want to say to your ate so you are prepared.

Always smile. Smiling even over the phone can reflect that you are happy to talk to your date. You will know what I mean and will see the difference once you do this.

Leaving messages on an answering machine. If you have attempted to call your date a few times and only receives answering machine on the other line, then this is a bad sign. Do not attempt to call your date again if this happens. It is enough to leave one message and that is it.

Calling your date over and over again. Do not call your date a few times in one day or even call him/her every day. This will have an impression that you are drooling over him/her. Do not make things too fast. Just stay casual and let things flow.

Too much text. Sending too many texts messages too can ruin everything. As said before, take your time by not sending any impression that you are too eager to talk or be with your date.

Many excuses. If your date always say a lot of excuses for not calling you or calling back at you, chances are that they are not interested. Just forget the whole thing and move on to your next date.

Don't expect too much. Not everything you wanted is for you. So if you thought you had a great time together, but there is no call after, just be prepared. Do not expect too much. This way, you won't hurt badly.

Long distance relationship is really hard to maintain since there is no physical contact for two lovers. Presence is very important for a lasting relationship. But still, there are many couples who are into long distance relationships.

Fortunately with the help of technology and the internet, communicating and getting closer is not anymore a problem. However, most couples do not use this advantage well. Below are great suggestions to keep the long distance love alive for both parties:

Play games together. Chat rooms now offer free games you can play with someone over the web. You can do this while chatting with your partner. This will make a big difference between just chatting and chatting while playing online games.

Watch videos online. Exchanging videos to watch is also a fun activity to do online. There are now a lot of videos available online. Now you can have something different to talk about ranging from youtube videos, or free online movies, or even foreign commercials.

Stargazing. This is one romantic idea to spend time with your loved one over chat or phone chat. You can go outside with your phone and stare at the skies while talking about your dreams together and how you missed each other so much. Romantic activities as this reminds both parties the love they have for each other.

Eating the same food and watching the same movie. You can order the same menu from a food delivery company and rent the same movie too. This way you both enjoy the same things as if you are together. You can talk things over the phone too while you both enjoy the night eating the same food and watch the same movie.

Telling stories before going to bed. This is also romantic, calling your partner late at night while you go in bed to tell a short story about what you did the whole day. It also reminds your partner that you think of them after a long day's work. It will be a relief to hear something like that.

Make a short video for your loved one. You can also create a short video of you and send this to your loved one. You can also be creative in doing this. You can shoot in your house, or outside your house. Think of a theme or a video message that you know would make your love happy and smile. Your video message can be played over and over again during your partner's leisure time. This way, it reminds him/her how much you love each other.

Send things that can remind well of you. You can also send things to your love, which can remember you and your love for him/her. These things can be a lipstick, a towel, a picture, your favorite thing or a coat. It is also best to send a gift that your love can use all times. Things such as these can constantly make your loved one remember you anytime, anywhere. And it also shows that you are making a big effort to be at least with him/her in different ways.

Timing is very crucial when asking a girl out for a date. Guys should really know when is the right time to approach and ask a girl out. If they don't then you will just end up wondering why women always say no to you.

Try to understand that women deal with so many problems in their lives. There is family, career, friends, and so on. If you can clearly see and understand the conflicts in her life, then you can create a plan to execute your right timing.

If you have figured out the timing of asking a girl out, then you are on to your first date. The next step you have to remember is still to have the perfect time for your date. Try choosing a weeknight for your first date. You see, weekends usually got a lot of activities already planned a couple of days before that. You do not want your date to end in a jiffy or mingle with another event with her friends. This is another example of a bad timing too. It is safe to choose a weeknight. First dates do not really require you to both dress-up. A date after work is enough for a small conversation with each other in a relaxed not hurry kind of way.

But what if a girl says no when you asked her out? You should be able to have a plan B. If she is unavailable for the time and place, make sure you offer her another option. Is she still refuses, ask her what she has on mind. And if she gave you still a no answer, just excuse yourself that you are also busy. Just be cool if she rejects your offer and make an impression that you can search another girl who is worthy of your time.

However, just make sure that her excuse is something that is valid and true. Not all excuses are lame. If this is the case, you can give her your number and tell her that she can call you anytime she makes up her mind

Have a talent to analyze a woman's possibility to say yes to your offer. Again, you should be able to see the perfect timing. Below are tips you can take note when approaching a woman:

    - Try to see and understand a woman's reason to say no

    - Offer alternatives when asking a woman out for a date. You can also give her a chance to suggest for alternatives

    - If you sense that a woman is not interested, excuse yourself and say you are also busy with so many things

    - Weeknights are great for first dates

    - Do not be afraid to ask a girl out, practice makes perfect

    - Timing is crucial when asking a woman. So choose a perfect timing

A challenge for small business owners like myself is spending enough time working on the business. Most of our time is spent working in the business. Senior leaders of larger organizations face the same issue. It is very easy to get caught up in the day to day operations of a business at the expense of spending adequate time doing the things that senior executives should be doing.

An activity that I have participants in my executive leadership program do is to keep a log of how they spend their time for five working days. When they analyze where they actually spend their time and compare it to where they feel that they should be spending their time, huge gaps appear in those strategic activities required to improve business performance in the long term.

Strategic activities center on four main areas—vision, values, long term direction, and resource allocation. Senior leaders should be spending a large percentage of their time in these four areas. Much has been written about the importance of vision in determining the long term success of an organization. As Jim Collins and Jerry Portas reported in Built To Last, visionary companies out performed peer companies that lacked a compelling vision. I have found that most companies have created some form of vision statement. However, most think that the job is done when the statement is completed and posted on the wall. The real work of senior leadership is to communicate the vision and to use powers of persuasion to get everyone in the organization committed to achieving the vision. This is a continuous activity that is the responsibility of senior leadership and cannot be delegated to lower level management.

Values are those things which govern personal behavior in an organization. The stronger the values, the less the need for policies and procedures manuals and management intervention into every decision made in the organization. Values are learned by people in the organization by observing the behavior of the senior leaders. For example if they see senior leaders working closely together as a team, employees are more likely to exhibit high levels of teamwork. Likewise, if they see senior leaders openly critical and non supportive of their peers, then there will likely be a "silo mentality" in the organization. The role of senior leadership is to clearly communicate values and to reinforce with their own personal behavior as well as what they do or do not tolerate in the behaviors of others.

Senior leaders are responsible for considering the long term implications of every key decision that they make. It requires the ability to look beyond today, and to have a clear sense of the direction of the organization. A crucial element of establishing the strategy and long term direction of the organization is developing the vital few goals that must be achieved. We call these the critical success factors of the organization. The senior leaders are responsible for defining the critical success factors and constantly monitoring progress towards achieving them.

The resources of the organization are the responsibility of senior leadership to allocate. Resources are financial, human, and physical and are always limited. The role of senior leaders is to apply these resources to the right things that move the organization towards achievement of its goals. Often this requires challenging the status quo with respect to resource allocation.

Examine how you spend your time as a senior leader. Is it focused is these four areas—vision, values, long term direction, and resource allocation?

There is a movement across the nation, more and more people are starting to raise chickens. Whether it be the state of the economy or people just wanting to get back to the basics--people are looking for ways to be a little more self-sufficient and having eggs supplied by your own poultry is one of many ways.

Along with the interest in raising chickens you need to be aware of some of the poultry equipment required to maintain your new flock. Some people just jump right in without a thought--kind of like I did in the beginning--my husband brought home six chickens and we scrambled around looking for temporary housing until we could build better and something to dispense their feed and water. If you have a choice, first determine what is needed to start raising chickens and then get your chickens.

What comes first--the chicken or the chicken supplies?

At a local farm supply store I noticed a lady had purchased a new baby chicken and along with the chick she had a chick feeder, a chick waterer, and who knows what at home that was waiting for her new little chicken. She probably is not aware within a few weeks the baby chickens will about double in size and will not be able to eat out of the chick feeder without opening the top and the waterer will not hold enough to give them an adequate water supply. These are some of the things that you learn from experience in raising chickens.

If I was considering raising a few chickens in my backyard for the first time, here are the preferred chicken supplies I would have on hand:

Chicken House--when raising chickens the chicken needs a place to call home. Whether it be a chicken tractor, a chicken coop, or a livestock barn, give the chickens a place to get out of the rain, lay an egg, and roost at night. Baby chickens require an area with a heat source for a short time so the housing requirements will be different.

Poultry Equipment--this includes the chicken waterer, poultry feeder, and nesting boxes. The type of poultry equipment you purchase depends on the age of the chicken. The feeder and waterer requirements for baby chickens is different than adult poultry. You will need the regular feeders at some point. Unless you buy a pre-fab chicken house most do not come with nesting boxes so you will need to supply the area where you want to gather the eggs.

Used Poultry Equipment--there are many sources to purchase used poultry equipment and the first place I usually look is Craigslist and from there I search for any local livestock or small animal auctions. And don't forget your local trading posts papers. We have one that comes from our local electric company and sometimes they have some items at good prices.

Chicken Feed--when you bring home your new chickens one of the first things they want to do is eat. Again what type you buy is determined by the age of the chicken. There are a variety of chicken feeds out there so do your homework to choose the one that is right for you.

Storage Containers for Poultry Supplies--what do I mean by this? Somewhere to keep your food and grain so other animals do not have access to it. The likelihood of attracting critters of some sort is very high with all the scratching a chicken does in its food that helps to spread it around. I use metal trash containers and they do the trick. I keep my food supplies in one and my chicken equipment in the other.

I have been raising chickens for over five years now so I have my preferred methods of feeding and watering along with my preferred poultry equipment, some homemade and some store bought. If you are just starting out and not sure where to turn, visit your local feed store. Check out their prices and then compare them to the online stores. Most of the time you will find if you buy local you will save on the shipping costs. And there is the chance that if they do not have what you are looking for they will order it for you. With the interest in raising chickens you need to have the correct poultry equipment to maintain your new flock.

The scrapbooking hobby has been around for a long time and people do it for a variety of reasons. If you are an outsider to the world of scrapbooking, then you will not understand until you experience the craft the many reasons a person invests so much time and energy into a scrapbook page.

When I was first introduced to scrapbooking via my church family, I told them I had neither time nor energy to invest in creating pages of photos matched up with paper and cute little embellishments. I thought those people were crazy staying up all hours of the evening, dragging around tons of supplies, just to sit and create scrapbook pages. One evening I was invited to a scrapbook night and I agreed to come with the intent of visiting and watching. No scrapbooking for me. I was a business professional who could not imagine investing time or energy into something I felt was for stay-at-home moms or those who had nothing better to do.

Little did I know I was about to change my mind and attitudeduring the evening of socializing and viewing all the pages of creation, something changed in me. One person in particular needed help with color coordinating and matting her photos. I started working with her and ended up finishing her page for her. The scrapbooking bug bit me and it bit hard! The very next day I was out buying all the essential tools to create my very own pages of photos.

What is it about scrapbooking that captures so many people痴 devotion and attention?

Focus雄ou lose your focus on everything except for the scrapbook page you are working on. You forget the world exist for a few moments and you focus on nothing but what is in front of you.

Creativity輸ll it takes is a sheet of paper and a few ideas to get your creative juices going. Whether the ideas are from a magazine, your surroundings, or the scrapbook paper held in your hand; the end result is pure enjoyment.

History邑hen I think of a scrapbook, to me it is the history of the day, moment, or event. The page was created for future generations to learn of their family.

Expressing myself裕he scrapbook is made by someone and that in itself is a source of pride and joy. The feeling you get from completing, giving, or sharing your scrapbooks is indescribable.

Giving邑hen working on a scrapbook layout, you are giving your thoughts, feelings, and memories to an event to share with others. The joy you feel when others express pleasure and enjoyment from your work is worth all the time and energy.

Scrapbooking has become so sophisticated you do not even need to leave the comfort of your home to get started. If you are experienced with computer programs such as Photoshop Elements, your tools are at the tips of your hands. If you prefer traditional scrapbooking, you still have the ability to order supplies and tools at the comfort of your home and within days you will be completing your own scrapbook.

People today have a variety of reasons for making their own scrapbooks and/or creating creations of beauty with their supplies. The majority of my experience has been to create something to share with future generations. People want to be remembered and through a scrapbook their lives are shared.

    *********************** ARTICLE START ***********************

L-carnitine is amino acid essential for the metabolism of fats into a form of energy necessary for extended aerobic activity. Originally discovered in Russia, and Germany a year later, the structural formulation of carnitine, as it is correctly known, was determined in 1927, although it is physiological and biochemical activity was not understood until the 1960s.

The amino acid is biosynthesized in the liver and kidneys from lysine and methionine. The vitamins niacin, B6, C and iron are essential for this reaction to take place. However, the supply of L-carnitine has to be supplemented by the diet, good sources being dairy products, red meat, nuts and seeds, pulses and fruits such as apricots, bananas and avocado. Most of the L-carnitine supply of the body is stored within the muscle tissue. However, it is not unusual for conditions to arise making it difficult for the body to obtain all the carnitine required.

L-carnitine enables fatty acids to be transported into the mitochondria, where cell metabolism occurs. The biochemistry is discussed below, although in simple terms the amino acid allows body fats, in the form of triglycerides, to be made more readily available for the generation of energy required for extended exertion. In this way, body fats can be used for energy and the supplies of glycogen stored by the liver can be retained for emergency use.

By providing the energy for endurance and stamina in this way, carnitine makes use of an otherwise unavailable energy source, and has the added benefit of reducing body fat stores and reducing strain on the heart.

Although there is generally a plentiful supply of L-carnitine available in a healthy diet, supplementation can ensure that a deficiency does not occur. Supplements are available in the form of L-carnitine or its acetylated derivative, acetyl L-carnitine.

In order for fatty acids to be used in the production of energy, their long-chain acetyl groups have to get inside the mitochondria where they are oxidized to the acetate to be used for the production of energy via the Citric Acid or Krebs cycle.

In order for the biochemistry to take place, fatty acids must be rendered suitable for binding to the carnitine molecule. The chemical grouping with a good affinity for L-carnitine is the acetyl or acetyl group, available in the molecule acetyl coenzyme A (CoA). The free fatty acid, therefore, is attached to coenzyme-A by means of a thioester bond, catalyzed by means of the enzyme fatty acetyl-CoA synthetase. The reaction is then completed by means of in organic pyrophosphatase.

In this way, the fatty acid in the form of an acetyL-carnitine derivative can be transported through the mitochondrial wall. This transportation takes place by means of several steps. These are:

    1. As explained, the acetyl-CoA is attached to L-carnitine by means of the enzyme carnitine acetyltransferase I. This enzyme is conveniently located on the outer mitochondrial membrane.

    2. The enzyme carnitine-acetylcarnitine translocase helps the acetyL-carnitine through the membrane.

    3. Another enzyme, carnitine acetyltransferase II, located on the inner mitochondrial membrane, converts the acetyL-carnitine to acetyl-CoA, liberating the carnitine which returns to the muscle mass.

L-carnitine is the only known substance that allows fatty acids to cross the mitochondrial membrane, and therefore deficiencies must be avoided.

Another way in which carnitine is used in energy production is in the Krebs cycle itself. Part of this cycle involves the conversion of guanine diphosphate to the higher energy form guanine triphosphate. In this way energy can be stored in much the same way as it is in the conversion of ADP to ATP. Succinyl CoA is involved in this conversion, and one of the by-products of it is a corresponding succinate, that is then converted to a fumarate by the action of L-carnitine fumarate. Carnitine, therefore, has two parts to play in the production of long-term energy from the fatty acids contained in body fats.

Since the fatty acid triglycerides contained in body fats are a major source of energy in the heart and skeletal muscles, it is easy to understand how L-carnitine is believed to lead to the increased energy levels required for stamina and staying power. A major reason for its effect on longer-term or extended energy requirements is that in enabling stored body fats to be used for immediate and longer-term energy requirements, L-carnitine allows emergency glycogen stores to be retained for use once immediate fatty acid supplies or those of carnitine have been depleted, and so allows the energy supply to be extended even farther. Research has also suggested that the amino acid can possibly be used to treat liver and kidney disease, diabetes and chronic fatigue syndrome.

As with many supplements, the question is often asked how does L-carnitine work in practice as opposed to the claims made for it by the supplement providers? Recent research indicates mixed results, but sufficient to justify its use. It is generally accepted that a supplement is necessary when there is a deficiency, but once that deficiency has been corrected further intake is unnecessary. However, it is also believed that during long and extended periods of exercise a carnitine deficiency does occur as L-carnitine is used up, and the supplement is necessary to ensure sufficient energy supply throughout the period of exercise.

There has also been a case reported in the Journal of Clinical Neurology (Negoro, Tsuda, Kato & Morimatsu, 1995) where a deficiency, caused by anorexia nervosa damaging the liver to the extent that it was unable to synthesize L-carnitine, was remedied by means of an oral supplement. Studies on endurance athletes have been mixed, ranging from no effect to L-carnitine being found to promote weight loss.

Carnitine has no unknown harmful side effects, and has been studied for medical applications other than as an energy supplement. For example it possesses extensive antioxidant properties, and can be used as a supplement against oxidative stress and the prevention of the lipid peroxidation that is a precursor to atherosclerosis.

Its use in osteoporosis and reducing bone mass is also being studied. The concentration of L-carnitine diminishes with age, and affects fatty acid metabolism in a number of tissues. Bones are particularly affected since they require continuous reconstruction. Without detailing the biochemistry involved in this, administration of carnitine helps to reduce the speed by which this occurs. Trials are so far been carried out only on animals.

In studies on both healthy volunteers and patients with type II diabetes, L-carnitine was found to improve storage of glucose in both groups, although its oxidation increased only in the group with diabetes. Other studies carried out include improving the function of neurotransmitters in the brains of elderly patients and in the treatment of Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease, and other neurological disorders.

In conclusion then, although the jury is out on the use of L-carnitine is an energy-giving or weight-loss supplement, it appears to be effective where the body's stores of carnitine could be depleted such as with long-term exercise, natural deficiencies or deficiencies caused through age. It is also under study in the treatment of various medical conditions. On balance, it would appear that the prospective benefits of L-carnitine render it worthy of use.

Fish oil is recommended for a healthy diet because it contains the omega-3 fatty acids, eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA), and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), precursors to eicosanoids that reduce inflammation throughout the body. Fish do not actually produce omega-3 fatty acids, but instead accumulate them from either consuming microalgae that produce these fatty acids, as is the case with fish like herring and sardines, or, as is the case with fatty predatory fish, by eating prey fish that have accumulated omega-3 fatty acids from microalgae.

Such fatty predatory fish like mackerel, lake trout, flounder, albacore tuna and salmon may be high in omega-3 fatty acids, but due to their position at the top of the food chain, these species can accumulate toxic substances (See biomagnification). For this reason, the FDA recommends limiting consumption of certain (predatory) fish species (eg albacore tuna, shark, and swordfish) due to high levels of toxic contaminants such as mercury, dioxin, PCBs and chlordane. There are vegetarian, DHA Omega-3 products made from algae available if toxic contaminants are of concern.

Fish oil supplements have sometimes come under scrutiny in recent years. In early 2006, government agencies such as the Food Standards Agency in the UK and the Food Safety Authority of Ireland reported PCB levels that exceeded the strict new European maximum limits in several fish oil brands, which required temporary withdrawal of these brands. To address the growing concern over contaminated fish oil supplements, the International Fish Oil Standards program, a voluntary review process, was created at University of Guelph.

Omega-3 is the name given to a family of polyunsaturated essential fatty acids (EFAs). Essential fatty acids can be grouped into two categories, omega-6 EFAs and the omega-3 EFAs. Some Omega-6 acids promote inflammation, blood clotting, and tumor growth, while omega-3 acids, including Eicosapentaenoic Acid (EPA) and Docosahexaenoic Acid (DHA), serve a very different, yet vital, function for body.

Nutritionists have come to recognize the importance of balancing omega-3 fatty acids with omega-6 fatty acids in the diet. Key omega-3 fatty acids including DHA, are both found primarily in oily cold water fish such as tuna, salmon, and mackerel (higher concentrations are found in pure fish oil). Aside from fresh seaweed, a staple of many oriental cultures, plant foods rarely contain EPA or DHA. And because most people on a typical Western diet consume far more omega-6-rich foods (including cereals, whole-grain bread, baked goods, fried foods, margarine, and others), the ratio of Omega-6 to Omega-3 fatty acids is out of balance for just about everyone. What does this mean? This means for most Americans the emphasis should to be on increasing omega-3s to make the ratio more even and to put the body back in balance.

Consuming 2000 to 4000 milligrams of omega-3 can help bring balance back into your diet. It is recommended that the omega-3 to omega-6 ratio should be 3:1. This will ensure that one received adequate amounts of omega-3 vs omega-6. Omega-3 comes in softgel or bulk liquid forms at your local or internet health food store. When purchasing an omega-3 fish oil look on the label for the term molecular distilled to ensure that the product contains no toxins or contaminents. Look for name brands like KAL, Source Naturals, and Natures Plus to ensure quality and purity of the product you purchase.

    *********************** ARTICLE START ***********************

L-Cysteine is what is known as a non-essential amino acid, meaning that it can be biosynthesized by the body and hence not an essential part of your diet. Due to its possessing a thiol side chain, it is termed a hydrophilic amino acid with an affinity for aqueous systems. Because of this it is relatively highly reactive, and is therefore an important component of a large number of enzymes and proteins.

Although, after all, it is not an essential amino acid, deficiencies can occur in the young and in the old, and also in those suffering certain metabolic diseases. Dietary sources include high-protein foods such as chicken, turkey, pork, dairy products and vegetables such as cereals, broccoli, garlic and onions.

The biochemistry of this amino acid begins with another amino acid known as serine, and also methionine. The latter is fist converted to homocysteine, which is then combined with serine to form cystathionine. This is then converted into cysteine and alpha- ketobutyrate. The thiol group is highly reactive and gives cysteine its biological properties.

L-Cysteine possesses strong antioxidant properties due to the thiol group which easily undergoes redox reactions. However, it is for its detoxification effect on the body that the amino acid is mainly taken as a supplement. It is, therefore, these properties that we shall discuss first.

Cysteine can reduce the toxic effects of alcohol, such as a hangover or the more serious liver damage. The by-product of alcohol metabolism that does most damage and is responsible for the majority of the negative after-effects of excessive alcohol consumption is acetaldehyde. L-Cysteine converts acetaldehyde into the more acceptable acetic acid, and so prevents the aldehyde from having too much of a negative effect on your health and well-being. However, the results obtained from such studies have been from animals only, and the therapeutic effects of cysteine have not yet been tested on humans.

What has been tested and is known is that L-cysteine is effective in the detoxification of heavy metals in the body. A common source of heavy metal toxicity is mercury from amalgam fillings in the teeth. Although the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) declared in 1989 that dental amalgams are a hazardous substance under the Superfund law, many people still have them in their mouths.

The thiol group and L-cysteine has a high affinity for mercury and other heavy metals, as previously stated, and a supplement can be used to remove from the body any mercury leached from mercury-based tooth fillings. It can also be used to bind to copper, lead and cadmium. Lead and cadmium are particularly toxic to the human body, and even though lead is no longer used in plumbing or paints, and cadmium in toys or paints, there are still many sources of these two heavy metals available that can lead to human toxification.

An L-cysteine supplement can be used to remove these heavy metals from the body. Any proteins containing cysteine will tightly bind heavy metals such as lead, cadmium, molybdenum, cobalt and mercury, and allow them to be excreted by the body in the usual fashion. This direct involvement in heavy metal detoxification is a very useful property of this amino acid.

Another detoxification application of L-cysteine is in direct involvement in protecting cellular glutathione levels, and also the prevention of the death of liver cells by acetaminophen poisoning. The latter is of particular interest to many people since acetaminophen is better known as paracetamol, and since this is a freely available over-the-counter drug, overdoses are not unknown. The result of an overdose is the necrosis of liver cells, with eventual liver failure and death.

The treatment of choice is N-acetylcysteine. If used within 10 hours of the overdose it is extremely effective, and even from 16 to 24 hours it is better than other controls. It is believed that the acetylcysteine liberates cysteine which, when available to the liver, enables the biosynthesis of glutathione. Glutathione can then maintain the production of the fifth metabolite required for the specific detoxification of the paracetamol/acetaminophen.

L-Cysteine is also an essential component in the biosynthesis of coenzyme A, an enzyme essential for the production of energy from fats and carbohydrates. It is also a very important component of hair, from which it is commercially produced. Without an adequate intake of L-cysteine the growth of healthy hair would not be possible.

There are several supplemental uses of L-cysteine including the treatment of bronchial conditions for which the amino acid can help to liquefy and clear mucus from the airways and lungs. It is also used to protect against side effects of chemotherapy treatment of cancers and for medical treatments for excessive exposure to radiation.

However, there are certain situations in which L-cysteine should be avoided when at all possible. Diabetics should not use it, and neither should those suffering from cystinuria, whereby large quantities of amino acids, including cystine, are excreted in their urine. L-cystine, incidentally, is formed by oxidation of L-cysteine.

Paradoxically the amino acid is one of the several hundred additives made to tobacco by the cigarette companies. Although, as with the majority of tobacco additives, its purpose is unknown there are two possible reasons for its inclusion. L-Cysteine is a known expectorant, so it could be added to promote the expectoration of mucus in the lungs which is promoted by smoking, and it also increases the production off the antioxidant glutathione that is depleted in smokers.

There are several other non-medical uses for the amino acid, but it is for is its detoxification properties that it is most used as a supplement. However, because it is largely derived from human hair or duck feathers, it may not be classed as kosher or halal in spite of many claims made to that effect, though the more expensive source of microbial fermentation from corn sugar can be.

The substance is recognized as safe by the FDA, and must be labeled as L-cysteine when it is present in a preparation intended for its therapeutic effects. Keep in mind however, that it should be avoided by diabetics. Look to your local or internet health food store for the amino acid L-cysteine.

    *********************** ARTICLE START ***********************

Writing articles is a skill that everybody can learn. Article marketing is a skill that everybody can learn. Put the two together and you have a powerful tool to promote a product.

Your objectives in online marketing are promoting your website and selling your products. By 'website' I mean any web presence: a regular website, your Facebook page profile, your Squidoo lens, your YouTube video, your Blog, and any other way in which you use the internet to make money.

    You Must Connect!

Without promotion you will be failing to connect with most of your potential customers. Even with promotion, you will fail to connect with most of them, but you will do better than if you do not.

Writing articles on a topic that interests people who might be interested in your product is sure-fire way of getting your products in front of your prospects. Who are your prospects? People who are interested in your niche or the topic of your article enough to buy your product.

Marketing is easy in theory, and involves these steps:

    1. Find a product to market - yours or somebody else's on commission.

    2. Bring the product to the attention of interested people

    3. Persuade them to buy.

So where does writing articles fit in to this simplified process? At stages 2 and 3!

    Catch their Eye!

The title of your article must catch your prospective customer's eye. It must interest them - perhaps offer the promise to solve a problem they have, offer to make them money or save them time, or offer some new information on the subject. Anything to start them reading!

    Keep them Interested

Then you have to interest them. Don't lose them after the first couple of sentences. Expand on the title: if your title is 'How to Breed Championship-Winning Dogs', don't begin with a sentence or two on dog food. It might be relevant to the breeding process, but it will seem like an advert, and the reader will stop reading.

Expand on the title: "By using a new technique it easier now to breed championship-winning dogs than it ever has been". I know nothing about breeding dogs, but that would work better than "The food you feed your dog is important. . ."

Once you have them reading, then you can propose the main problem and present your solution, full details of which can be found by clicking on the link in your resource. You can't say that of course, but you can infer it in the final summing up paragraph of your article, and leave the reader with nothing more to do than either leave the page or click on the link.

    Persuasion is Key

The third action - persuading them to buy - is done on your website, once they have made that all-important click. So the simplified marketing process above can work if you know how to write articles properly, by baiting the hook with a good title, retaining interest with your first couple of sentences and then offering no option at the end but to click to your website to find out more information.

As I wrote in the first sentence, 'writing articles is a skill', but one that can be taught, so if you want to learn how to market a product the easy way, you should learn how to write articles and how to use article marketing the way the professionals do.

You will find marketing your product a lot easier by doing so.

Affiliate marketing is one of the fastest, easiest and affordable ways to start earning an income online. However there is much more to affiliate marketing than signing up and posting your affiliate link. Just like any other work-at-home venture, starting and running an affiliate marketing business requires research and planning. One of the most important aspects of that research is determining which affiliate programs to promote.

When evaluating an affiliate program, consider the following:

    1) Does the affiliate company provide products or services that you are interested in or knowledgeable about? It's much easier to promote programs with authority when they involve products and services in your skill or knowledge base. So if you love gardening, choose an affiliate with gardening products. If you know a lot about money matters, choose companies with quality financial products and services.

    2) Are people buying the types of products and services the affiliate company offers? Use a good keyword search tool to find out if people are searching for the information or products the company is selling. You're looking for products and services that are in demand, so if there aren't many searches on the keywords of a particular company then it's not likely that you'll have much success with its affiliate program.

    3) Is the company reputable? The company's reputation will reflect on you, so make sure you're promoting good company with quality products and services.

    4) Is the product or service priced right? Would you pay the price?

    5) Can you attest to the quality? You'll need to buy or test the product or service to be sure. In fact, a testimonial from you can increase sales.

    6) Does the company offer quality customer service? Poor customer service will negatively impact your credibility as the person who recommended the affiliate company, so make sure the company treats its customers well.

    7) Does it have a clear and professional website? It doesn't need bells and whistles, but it should be organized and easy to use.

    8) What does the affiliate agreement say and are the terms acceptable? Make sure you understand any limitations such as whether or not you can advertise in email or through pay-per-click services.

    9) How and when do you get paid? Is this a pay-per-sale or a pay-per-lead? Does it pay monthly? Do you need to have earned a specific amount before you get paid?

If you're looking for a new career, you are most certainly not the only individual doing so. There are a lot of people looking for new jobs in this troubled economy. They are looking for a fresh start. Some do this by simply stepping right into a new career field and others have to take a longer route, which is by training for a particular field that they are interested in. This is usually done through vocational programs and classes offered via local colleges and universities.

    Finding that new career

The first thing that you need to do when looking for a new career is figure out what it is you enjoy doing. Many of us look at just the money factor to find that we lock ourselves into careers that we don't like. Although money is important, it is also crucial that everyone works a job that they enjoy. You have to ask yourself the following questions when deciding to leave your current career:

    - Why am I not satisfied with my current career?

    - What am I looking for in a new career?

    - Do I go home feeling like I accomplished something at the end of my shift?

    - Do I bring my work issues home with me?

The ideal career is one that satisfies you, provides you with something that you are looking for, gives you a feeling of accomplishment, and allows you to keep work at work. You need that work-life balance and the ideal career is going to do that for you. But the right career sometimes comes with a little effort.

For instance, you may decide to go for training whether you need it or not. This isn't saying you can't start your new career until you have gotten some training. You can go ahead and start if you have enough qualifications to do so and train in the evenings so that you can better your position and/or better your pay. When looking for a new career, look for one that allows you to do this. Or if you can wait and train while still working your current career, go for it.

Looking for a new career is rewarding

Looking for a new career is very rewarding because it gives you the chance to enter into a career that you can actually enjoy. You can't put a price on a career that you enjoy for the fact that how you feel about your career has an impact on how you feel about everything else that is going on in your life. If things aren't going well in your career, then it seems like nothing is going right.

So if you're looking into new careers and you are not sure which way to go, you have options. Just keep in mind that you have training available to you as well. Although it can be exciting to step into a new career, you also have to take into consideration that you are capable of much more and worth much more than the minimum.

Changing careers is a part of life. As young adults we consider what we want to be when we grow up. We might even go through college with that same goal in mind, but sometimes reality just doesn't live up to our dreams or we find that we are better suited for something else. Invariably through life we have many jobs as we learn and train to become the person we want to be. A change in career can liven up our lives again or bring us to something we like better. There are a few things you might want to consider before changing your career.

Do you find your job dissatisfying? There are aspects of each career you will have that you don't like. It could be the manager you must deal with, the co- worker, the changing rules, or certain tasks you are asked to perform. There are literally hundreds of reasons you might find your career is in a rut. What you need to ask yourself is if the entire career is the problem or just certain aspects? Consider for a moment that your current career is very rewarding. You are a child psychologist, but there is paperwork that you must do after seeing your patients. This is just part of the job. It may seem like you are in a rut as nothing changes, but really you've just lost focus. A lot of individuals who want to change careers tend to find they love their job after visiting a workshop. Sometimes it just takes a different perspective.

If this is not the case then you need to find what you want to change to. You will probably want to take an aptitude test to find out what you like most. Do you like working with numbers, ideas, around people? What are your interests or hobbies? Can these interests become the career change you want?

The next part of the agenda is actually making a move. Fear often holds individuals back when it comes to changing careers. They are too afraid that they will not excel at the new position or that it will not be enough income, etc. There are hundreds of reasons for the fear.

Once you can find the confidence to change careers little will stop you. You will need to look at various areas for the new job. Is where you live going to provide you with the right career change? Do you have to move? Can you afford to move?

Whenever you change careers you need to have the required experience. This can be obtained through volunteering, going back to school, etc. By following some of the questions above you can determine if you are really ready for a career change or just a change of pace.

The fact is it is never too late to change your career. Even if you have a family and a steady life, if you are unhappy with your career you can still change it to find happiness again.

Unfortunately, our faltering economy has caused more than a few people to have to reconsider their careers. People who have spent their entire working career doing the same job are seeing those jobs disappearing, or the hours are being chopped considerably. As a result, more people are going back to college or training to become something completely different. If you have recently lost your job, or you have seen your hours dwindling, you should know that there are a lot of resources to help you along the path to a better career. Also, these resources are still available to you if your career change was voluntary. Its true that there are lots of people out there who simply get burned out in their chosen career, and decide that they need a change.

For one, the internet has become a great place to help you find the best career for you. It should come as no surprise, because the internet has become a large part of every aspect in our lives. So of course it can be a place where you can find your perfect career, everything about that career, and you may even be able to get training for that career online. Otherwise, the internet can direct you to schools and training programs where you can learn about the new career, and be well on your way to starting a new phase in your life.

For example, you may have spent the last 20 years working at a plant that manufactures automobiles. Everything is great until the economy heads into a downturn. Pretty soon, the company is losing money, and people are beginning to lose their jobs or at least be laid off. If you have lost your job and you do not have other training, then you should know how difficult it is to get a good job when you do not have the required training.

One new career helpful tip is simply to sit down and really think about what you would like to do. If you are starting a new career, there could not be a better time to go after the job you really want. If you have trouble choosing, just make a list of the pros and cons of each possible career. If you do not have a clear idea of what you would like to do, then you could either just make a list of your strongest points, and try to find a job that will match them, or you could fill out an online survey that will match you with a new career that you will love. If the new job requires technical training or expensive college courses, then you can look into financial aid in order to take some of the financial burden off of choosing a new career.

So if you feel like you are in new career limbo, then rest assured that you are not alone, and that there is lots of new career help to make sure you find the best job and that you find a job that you can keep.
