Regular coupon use is a simple way to save hundreds of dollars a year on your purchases. Although millions of Americans use coupons each year many of them never give a thought to how the coupon phenomenon even started or how it has evolved into what it is today.

It is noted that the first use of coupons was back in the late 1800's when Asa Griggs Candler, helped to launch Coca-Cola to the public by using innovative and never tried before advertising techniques. One of these techniques was the use of the first coupon. He simply offered people the opportunity to try a free Coca-Cola when they redeemed his crude coupon and because of this technique use of Coca-Cola quickly spread throughout every state in the country.

Over the years many other companies have utilized this marketing technique and have had tremendous success with it. In fact during certain periods in our country's history like the "Great Depression" coupon use really soared to great heights as many Americans were out of work and forced to save money on purchases in as many ways as they could find.

Coupons still play a vital role in helping many families save money on their purchases but today's coupons come in many different forms. Of course you still have your clip out paper coupons but with the advances in technology and common use of computers the coupon has also gone digital. Coupon codes have become highly searched for items online. Coupons for free shipping are common when making a purchase online as it doesn't make sense to find a great deal on a product only to have your savings eaten up by shipping fees.

No matter what format you find them in, coupons are an easy way for companies to advertise what they have to offer as well as a great way for people to get a low-cost (or sometimes even free) introduction to new products that they might like.

Here are three interesting facts about the coupons history:

    1) One-half of all Americans were coupon users by 1965.

    2) 1992 was deemed the year of the coupon when 7.9 billion of them were redeemed. Use has declined over the 17 years before 2009 but with the onset of the current recession use is going up once again.

    3) Coupons have become totally integrated into the lives of Americans and in 1998, the United States decided to commemorate this fact with a celebration. The first-ever "National Coupon Month" was established in September of that year. To this day, people still celebrate National Coupon Month in America every September.

Coupon use is especially important to businesses of all sizes today and continues to be an excellent marketing tool. For the larger companies coupon use can be the difference between keeping a customer using your name brand or having them switch to an off brand competitor. For the small businesses offering coupons can encourage current customers to keep coming back and attract new customers into their place of business.

Mobile internet has become increasingly available today and mobile shopping is now starting to become popular. We are also now beginning to see the emergence of mobile couponing. More businesses will be able to take advantage of this technology as it develops and this will not only be beneficial to the businesses that offer them but it will be equally beneficial to their customers too. This is particularly true considering the number of cell phone applications being developed today which allows the phone to be scanned for bar codes.

Coupons have come a long way over the past century and no matter what form they take it looks like the mighty coupon is going to always be an integral part of American life.

Tires, whether for cars, RVs, trucks, or buses, have three functions:

    To protect the metal rim of the tire;

To provide traction between the vehicle and the road so the driver will have control;and

To provide cushioning on rough surfaces for a more comfortable ride.

Faulty tires can cost lives. Even new tires over five or six years shouldn't be put on vehicles, because rubber content degrades over time. (note: the last three numbers on the tire's serial number tell the week and year the tire was made.)

So, how did we end up with rubber tires, anyway? In Central and South America rubber was used for centuries before it was introduced to western culture. The rubber was harvested from the tree sap and used as a pencil eraser to "rub out" pencil marks--"rubber."

In the 1830s rubber, the waterproof gum from Brazil, came to the United States. One problem--it froze in the winter and turned to glue in the summer. Charles Goodyear thought a dry powder could be mixed into the gum to absorb the stickyness. He tried magnesia and a combination of magnesia, quicklime, and nitric acid. Alas, his rubber overshoes turned into a smelly pile of goo in the summer heat.

After five years of failures, Goodyear tried a combination of gum and sulphur, added heat, and made waterproof rubber that remained waterproof rubber in all seasons. He had created vulcanized rubber, named after Vulcan, the god of fire. This vulcanized rubber was more durable and more elastic. Goodyear was so confident of his new creation that he predicted rubber paint, car springs, inflatable life rafts, rubber soccer balls and frogmen suits 100 years before they became available.

In 1888 John Dunlop invented the first air-filled (ie, pneumatic)tire--for bicycles. Andre Michelin came up with the first

pneumatic tire for automobiles in 1895. (The Michelin Man was created in 1898.)

The Goodyear Tire Company, named after Charles, who had died in 1860 with a $200,000 debt--patented the first tubeless tire, but didn't promote it commercially until 1954 on the Packard. They also added carbon to the formula which increased the life of the tires.

Mountable rims, which allowed drivers to fix their own flats, were developed in 1904 and Frank Seiberling invented the first grooved tires for better traction in 1908. These grooves, or tread designs, also improved drivers' control, riding comfort and tire life.

It wasn't until 1911, however, that Philip Strauss invented the first really successful tire. Until that time tires had been wooden, metal, or solid rubber. Strauss developed the combination rubber tire with an air-filled inner tube.

There were natural rubber shortages during World War II and synthetic rubber was created to offset the shortage. Synthetic rubber is synthesized from petroleum and other minerals. This surpassed the use of natural rubber for the first time in 1960.

So, now that you know how long it took to get those tires for your vehicle, take care of them! Keep them properly inflated and save money, gas, and your own peace of mind.

One of the biggest health fads in recent times is colon cleansing, specifically dual action colon cleansing. It brings about many benefits to a person; such as relief from constipation, intestinal cleaning, diarrhea treatment, colon cancer prevention. However, the most popular health benefit, and the reason why the dual action body cleanse method has become a huge health fad, is weight loss. People are able to simply cleanse their body of the impurities and toxins commonly acquired from normal living and in doing so, rapidly drop excess weight.

There are many ways a person can achieve dual action colon cleansing. Many different formulas that can be found in local health stores and on the internet; with recipes found on-line and in health magazines, a person can also make their own dual colon cleanser. However, unlike a store bought dual colon cleansers, the effectiveness of a homemade formula is likely to vary with different recipes. This is an important factor to consider when looking for an effective dual colon cleanser.

Whichever option you choose, a dual colon cleanser is a proven way to refine the digestive track and get rid of all the toxins that have built up inside the intestinal track; which is why a dual colon cleanser is also popularly known as a detoxifying agent. A dual action body cleanse formula is also known to help in healing any ailments associated with the digestive system.

But why is it important for a person to regularly clean their colon?

According to recent studies, colon cleansing is an effective way of keeping a healthy balance in the body. In fact, many physicians believe that it is imperative that a person cleans their colon regularly to keep themselves in tip-top shape. By regularly consuming dual action colon cleansing formulas, a person aids their body in getting rid of toxic wastes that have accumulated in the intestinal track; these include mucous and undigested food. It is important to get rid of these toxic wastes because removing them will prevent the toxic wastes from reentering the blood stream. Other benefits gained from dual action body cleansers are decreased intestinal gases, glowing skin and healthy hair, as well as decreased body fat and weight loss.

Much like a motor engine, our body's 'gears' and 'parts' need to be cleaned in order to function at their best. By including a colon cleanse in your health regimen, your body will be kept at tip top shape and you are ensured to live a longer and healthier life.

A dual action colon cleansing is indeed the newest fad in the health industry, but it is more than a just another fad. It is an effective and proven way to help your body become healthier. It will help you gain a renewed sense of energy and zest for life.

A dual colon cleanser is a health regimen that is easy to incorporate into anyone's schedule. There are a few side effects to this health regimen; a person's bowel movement becomes more proactive than average. However this is a very manageable side effect and it is very much outweighed by all the health benefits one gains from a dual action body cleanse. There are an immense amount of benefits to regular colon cleansing but perhaps the most important is that it makes one a healthier person overall. After all, being healthy is priceless and anything that can assist with one's health should be welcomed with open arms.

When you're decorating your home, it can be easy to want to purchase all of the things that you want in each room at once. Unfortunately most of us can't do that, and instead we add little touches and pieces one at a time in order to slowly bring the room together. One way to make a room look great and to give it a country touch is to add a black & white cowhide rug. Unfortunately all too often people do not know enough about cowhide rugs to purchase one and wind up getting a rug they dislike or that it the wrong size. Here are three things that you should know about before you purchase a black & white cowhide rug.

    Tip #1: The Size

Cowhide rugs come in all sizes, and in all shapes. Do not assume that the only type of cowhide rug that you're going to be able to get is one that looks as though it just came off of the animal. Nowadays you can find black & white cowhide rugs that are not just stripped and cured, but that are transformed into different sizes and different shapes. You can even find quilt rugs that have been made using pieces of cowhide and which are absolutely amazing to behold. If you're trying to get a black & white cowhide rug for your home, make sure you have the right size for your area before you buy, and that you look at the different shapes, as one of the more unusual shapes may be a better fit for your room than the traditional cut.

    Tip #2: The Care

Another mistake people make with black & white cowhide rugs is that they do not know how to properly care for them. They enjoy them and then throw them in the washing machine, which ruins them, or leaves them hanging around to gather tons of dust and to begin to fade because they are in direct sunlight. If you have a cowhide rug, first make sure that it is not in direct sunlight, as this will destroy the rug quickly. Next, make sure that you know how to clean it. There are plenty of tips online that will help you lean how to clean your rug properly.

    Tip #3: A Good Seller

The most vital tip in purchasing a black & white cowhide rug is to buy it from a good and reputable seller. There are far too many non-reputable sellers online in today's virtual marketplace, and it is easy to get tricked when you're trying to purchase a black & white cowhide rug. Before you order, make sure that the company you're buying from is trustyworthy by checking out their reputation and reviews online, and don't hesitate to call their customer service line, as this will help you to know that there are real people who actually work for the company and who are there to answer your questions.

Article Title: Australian Sheepskin Rugs VS Inferior Versions

There are many decorative items that you can bring to your home which can add a touch of class or a touch of elegance. One item that can transform a room easily is an Australian sheepskin rug. These rugs bring class and elegance into a room easily, especially if you use it as a focal point in a room such as the living room or even the bedroom. However there are many sellers who offer replica versions, and this can present a real problem for those who want authentic choices.

    Isn't Replica Okay?

In today's economy, everyone is trying to save a pound here or a pound there. It's why people are now beginning to try the non-name brand items in the grocery store, and why they're shopping for clothes at stores that do not carry designer labels. So when you're dealing with Australian sheepskin rugs, isn't buying a replica version all right? After all, it will save you hundreds or even thousands of pounds and will look exactly the same, why not purchase a knockoff or replica version of the rug that you've been wanting to add to your living room?

    Defining Replica Versions

If you've decided that you want to buy a designer handbag, but that you don't want to pay the high price tag associated with it, you may look at replica bags. These replica bags are generally made using the same materials that the original bags are made using, which makes them just about as good as the designer bags. Doesn't the same hold true for replica Australian sheepskin rugs? Not necessarily.

The thing that makes Australian sheepskin rugs so beautiful and sought after is that they're made using sheepskin that comes from Australia. When you look to many of the replica versions of these rugs, they're made using synthetic materials. These materials are not truly found in nature and do not carry the same kind of feel or ability to last as a genuine Australian sheepskin rug would. They also are not hypoallergenic, as an Australian sheepskin rug is, because they're not made with 100% sheepskin.

True sheepskin is recognized as being one of the oldest and most natural materials that has ever been used in the known world, and for a good reason: a sheepskin rug is stain resistant, soil resistant, and even flame resistant (although it's best if you don't test this ability on your own sheepskin rug). It is naturally resilient and feels absolutely heavenly. Can a replica version duplicate a genuine Australian sheepskin rug?

So far, no. There have been no great replica versions of Australian sheepskin rugs that have made the rounds yet. People who do not care for purchasing natural animal hide may want to purchase a faux rug, which is a great option for their sensibilities but will not have the same abilities or feel of a genuine Australian sheepskin rug. If you're buying Australian sheepskin rugs, go for the genuine article every time. Australian Sheepskin Rugs have much longer and denser wool pile; they are softer to the touch and usually the hides tend to be bigger. So why compromise don't settle for less buy the best.

Greek Flokati rugs are a beautiful addition to almost any room, and recently they have become an extremely popular purchase for many. Unfortunately there are many shop owners who have preyed on those looking for authentic Flokati rugs by selling rugs that are inferior to the authentic models so many individuals are looking for these days. These rugs are fake through and through, but it can be very difficult to tell the difference between a fake Flokati rug and an authentic selection. If you're searching for an actual Flokati rug, here are a few tips that may help you.

Tip #1: Look at the Seller

The seller is the first person you should look to when you wish to purchase a Greek Flokati rug. Make sure that the shop or the individual seller has a positive reputation by doing a quick online investigation. If you type in the name of the company in a search engine, you will probably be rewarded with plenty of information about the company and their wares. This information should help you to distinguish whether you have found a trustworthy company or one that may not be a good choice. You can even check at places such as the Office of Fair Trading or another nation's equivalent, as they will have a list of companies that have been caught selling inferior products.

    Tip #2: Read Closely

If you read closely you may find that the rug you're looking at is not an authentic Greek Flokati rug. Many companies, especially those who sell through magazines and online, will make say things such as "Flokati rug" in the title, but once you do a bit of reading in the description, or the fine lines, you will find that the company says that it is just like a Flokati rug, not that it is a genuine one. Make sure that you read the fine print before you order anything so that you can save yourself the money and the hassle.

    Tip #3: Ask for Help

If you're completely stumped and are unable to find a Flokati rug, ask someone that you know who has one where they got theirs. Chances are they'll be able to tell you what dealer they used, or what website they purchased their rug from, making it easier for you to find a rug that will be perfect for your home.

Tip #4: If It's Too Good to Be True

The old saying, "if it's too good to be true, it probably is" is extremely accurate. If you find a Flokati rug that is marked down to an amazingly low price, ask yourself why this rug is marked down so low. If it's marked down just a bit, it is likely due to a sale or the company trying to clear out inventory. If it's marked down over 70%, however, there is a very good chance that it is marked so low because it is not an authentic Flokati rug. Never hesitate to ask the company why the item is selling so low, so that you can ensure that you get a genuine article.

There have been many design shows lately that have showcased the Flokati rug, and it's little wonder why. They are absolutely beautiful. Unfortunately, they are actually very difficult to find, and to afford, simply because they are made from 100% wool. What's more, though, is that they're handmade, making them a bit more expensive than your average rug. The internet, however, offers a plethora of purchase options, even if your local brick and mortar shops don't, and that can make the search process a bit easier, especially if you live in a rural area. If you're looking for discount Flokati rugs online, here are a few tips that may help you in your search.

    Start Small

There are many large websites available online that you can order from, and it can be tempting to go to them first. You may, however, want to start by looking at the lesser known websites. These smaller companies will often have more competitive pricing simply because they are trying to compete against the big sites. Moreover, though, they also often have better customer service, as their size allows them to take a more personal interest in their clients. If you're looking for discount Flokati rugs online, going through a smaller company is typically a better way to go.

    Around the World

Prices around the world vary a huge amount. What you might pay for milk in one country may be completely different than what you would pay for it in another. Because of this, the price of Flokati rugs is often very different in other nations in the world. There are many companies from other nations that sell Flokati rugs online, and for a very good price simply because that is the price that they are dealing with in their home country. Before ordering from a company that is in another nation, make sure that you know exactly how much you'll be paying. You can use a free website program to translate how much money you will be paying if you were to order from the company. And don't forget to count in shipping, as shipping from another nation generally costs more than shipping within your own country.

    Reviews

Another great way to find discount Flokati rugs is to carefully evaluate the reviews. Simply type in "Flokati rug reviews" and you'll find a number of reviews that will help you to see how great the rugs are, and where the reviewers purchased them from. These reviewers will often have received their rugs from a great company, and their review can make it easier for you to trust the company that they purchased from. Or you may find a bad review of a company and of a rug, which will mean that you will want to steer clear of that company so that you don't have to worry about getting ripped off.

If you take your time and do your research, and if you expand your shopping parameters a little, you'll be able to find discount Flokati rugs fairly easily online.

Moving into a college dorm, especially for the first time, is a little liberating, intimidating, and a bit scary. For one thing you'll be living on your own with no one to tell you to pick up your mess or how to decorate your room. That, however, can be a problem, as you may have a few great ideas as to how you want to decorate your dorm room but not much cash to help you to get the look that you're going for. Cheap Flokati rugs are actually a great way to help make your dorm room look absolutely amazing.

    About Flokati Rugs

Flokati rugs are 100% wool and are handmade. These rugs have actually been created for thousands of years and are decadently thick because of the creation process. Designers love to incorporate these rugs at almost every turn, especially when they're designing bedrooms, because they bring a sense of simple warmth to the room. If you were to place a Flokati rug in a bare room, the room would immediately look better. And, let's face it, when it comes to dorm rooms, they can definitely use a bit of warmth, as they often start with a sterile appearance that is not conducive to much of anything.

    The Dirt Factor

Dorms are typically messy places. Unlike a home where you can take your shoes off at the front door, in a dorm, you're walking into your room with your shoes on. A Flokati rug actually repels dirt simply because it is made from 100% wool. This means that you're able to actually live in your room without having to worry that you're getting your rug all dirty and messed up. They can be a bit difficult to clean, however, so you may want to do a bit of reading before you try to clean yours. As long as you're subjecting them to normal wear and tear, though, they shouldn't need a cleaning throughout your entire year at college.

    The Design

There's a reason that Flokati rugs are popular with teenagers and young adults – they're simply beautiful to look at and luxurious to feel. These rugs are absolutely amazing in that you can add them to a room and they will instantly make the place feel better. Place one just underneath your bed so that it's the first thing your bare feet feel every morning. It's a great way to start the day and draws attention to your bed. It also redefines the word luxury. Some have even hung their cheap Flokati rugs up on the wall, as they make a very interesting background to look at. Personally, however, many designers feel that a cheap Flokati rug looks the best when it is used in a living area, such as in front of a television. This will allow you the freedom to sit or lay on your rug and to be in the ultimate of comfort and style the entire time that you're there.

When starting a new business there are several easily overlooked key points to make your start-up successful.

    1. Don't give up. This may sound silly but if you start-up is being difficult and you quit and go do something else you never accomplish the first goal, which is why you started the business in the first place. All the hard work and effort are equity in your endeavor and if you are stuck, can't beat the competition or can't find the solution then just restructure the problem and look at it from a different way and keep moving forward.

    2. Don't Spend Money. This is often overlooked by new entrepreneurs but I see it all the time. Depending on the type of business you are starting try to keep the cost down. One way to do this is to start in your home or garage. Add a new phone line or use a cell phone for business. Don't borrow money to do this. Trust me you don't want to learn this lesson the hard way, like I did. So frequently I see new entrepreneurs investing tons of money in how the business looks like antique cabinets, custom cabinets, the finest this or that. Don't do it. Start bare bones and see how things go from there.

    3. Test Your idea. This is a great inexpensive way to test your idea, run it by other successful business owners. Typically you don't want the opinion of your family members because they usually don't have their own business or want you to get a real job. Run it by local business leaders or someone who you know who is successful in business. Don't know anyone, get on the hone and survey potential customers and see if there is an interest in your idea.

    4. Have a plan. If everything test like you thought and there is interest then create a simple one page plan that encompasses your daily, weekly and monthly duties that will be require to execute the plan as well as the expectations in sales and growth. Place this on your desk so you can see and check it daily and adhere to it.

    5. From my personal experience I would also not be involved in a partnership especially with a family member or friend. These relations can sour quickly and the last thing you want is a long term disagreement that resurfaces over the next twenty years or a situation where neither party is on speaking terms.

    6. If you do borrow money from someone other than a bank, have a clear terms outlined so everyone knows the worst case scenario, which is you still paying them the money back.

    7. Start making calls and contacts. This is crucial. Your plan I mentioned above should be composed of weekly and monthly goals but the more important part of your plan should be your action plan. What is an action plan? This is a list of the duties you will perform on a daily basis to get action. For example, From my telephone list I will make

25 phone calls today to new clients or I will set four appointments each Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and then set up my appointments for the following Thursday and Friday. Regardless, I will have 15 meetings each week and have 4 resulting sales each week from these appointments.

Letterpress printing is the oldest form of printing and more recently has made a tremendous comeback especially for personalized stationery and wedding stationery for brides who are becoming increasingly conscientious about their invitations. Earlier letterpress invitations were made using moveable type and a printing press. The moveable type was handset in reserve and then pressed into the high quality cotton paper to provide an elegant deep impression. This process made letterpress expensive because this type of "oldstyle" set up required a great deal of time and effort from a skilled artisan. The advent of the photopolymer plate and aluminum bases has made the transition from computer to plate easy and opened a completely new canvas of design for artisans and designers. Plates can be made in as little time as a half an hour rather than a process that took days. The process also utilizes environmentally friendly materials like water soluble photopolymer plates rather than harsh chemicals to etch the plates. The aluminum milled bases on to which the plate mounts, ensure a better quality print over the old wood bases. The environmental friendliness of letterpress is also desirable for brides.

    The History of Letterpress Printing

In 1440, Johannes Gutenberg invented moveable type, though other people have also been credited with the invention. He created individual casts of all the letters and various symbols that could be reused. He could set them in a frame, or form, to print whatever words or sentences were asked of him. He then went on to invent a wooden printing press, similar to the current wine press, which would help speed the process along.

With the Industrial Revolution came the advent of inked rollers that would pass along the plates and then move out of the way so a piece of paper could be placed in the press and the text then pressed into the paper. In the 20th Century, this process became fully automated with the invention of machines such as Kluge, C&P and "Original" Heidelberg Platen which handled the feed and delivery of the paper.

Printing work was done for fast paced applications, such as newspapers, with rotary presses in the early 20th century. It would allow for continuous sheets of paper to press against the bent cast metal to print the large quantities needed within a short period of time. Rotary letterpresses were used to print labels with ultra-violet curing ink. Today, Computer to Plate, or digital presses do most of the work where rotary presses used to suffice. These digital models work faster and much more efficiently for most commercial printing applications. They do not provide the quality, look or feel of paper found in wedding stationery.

    The History of Letterpress Invitations

Letterpress invitations became popular in the early 1990's because of the resurgence of high quality craftsman and artisans who knew how to produce immaculate letterpress work. This, combined with the digital technology from earlier decades created a whole new world of designs and possibilities for wedding invitations. They are highly sought after because of the unique appearance in terms of style and texture.

When using letterpress for invitations, it is very important to remember that the quality of paper determines the overall result. Using a high quality cotton paper is essential to seeing a perfect invitation using this printing method. While the quality of paper will have the largest impact on price, using an inferior quality paper will produce an inferior letterpress wedding invitation. The paper must be strong enough to withstand the pressure of the press, yet soft enough to give way and hold the ink well. The wedding invitation will be a keepsake, and therefore must be done well, with no expense barred.

Following these basic steps when starting your new company can help ensure your long term success.

Get organized. I am a firm believer that your environment is conducive to your success. So get organized and be professional. Get a date book or app on cell phone that will handle your scheduling and serve the reminders. Treat this area of your home like your business. Do you want to come in your office an see dirty laundry and the kids toys all over the floor? I also advocate going to work in the other room dressed professionally. Don't start making calls in your PJ's.

Get on a budget. You should already be on one personally and a business is no different. This would be part of the business plan. Optimally, I would get out of debt first before launching a business.

Having a business plan. A plan is very important so when I say "don't spend too much time on this initially" I mean spend time on the important issues of your short term plan. Your probably not giving this to a bank. Just get your goals and expectations in there and review them daily. I think some small businesses let this really bog them down. Just put together a 6 month plan at first as you get things up and running. Plans change so frequently that it makes more sense to be flexible in your planning. This would cover the corporate documents, sales etc...You might find your entire business model changes in the first two weeks.

Planning ahead for "Murphy" type situations. We all know Murphy's law is bound to happen so go ahead and prepare for this mentally and financially. Being organized and having an emergency fund will help smooth the murphy curve into a bearable situation.

What is a worst case scenario? You find there is problem with a product you sent to all your customers or there is typo on a custom product and your clients start calling and demanding their money back. That type of day. They happen!

Saving money. Before you get things running it is nice to know how much money you are going to need based on what your service or idea is. Having a cash buffer is nice to start but not a necessity. Hopefully your business won't require much cash to start. Use the phone to solicit opinions from customer or have a brief questionnaire ready to ask some brief questions. You will be surprised at how well you will be received in most cases. Customers are anxious to have solutions to problems. You can be the one to help them fix it.

Test. Before I did any fillings for corporate status, I tested my idea. I want to see if this is going to work before I spend money or make any investment aside from phone calls and office paper. That really is the great thing about the internet and being in a home today. I can look more professional online than many fortune 500 companies.

I don't condone breaking local and federal laws but make some calls to your potential customers see if it looks realistic to pursue before you start.

No matter what part of the world you are in, weddings are a monumental and joyous occasion as they celebrate the union of two people, their hearts, souls, even families into one. While all the occasions are full of wonder and amazement, there are several differences in the customs and traditions we see all over the world.

    Asian Traditions

In China, the traditional wedding gown is bright red in color as this symbolizes luck for the new couple. The bridal gowns are often embellished with things such as chrysanthemums and peonies as these symbolize wealth and good fortune. The groom typically wears a long black coat with a dragon on it. Fireworks are displayed that make loud noises, to ward away evil spirits and energies.

In Japan, the bride wears a purple kimono as purple is the color of love. It is typically very elaborate and features many purple iris flowers. On her wedding day, she is painted white, all over her body, to show the Gods her status as a maiden.

In Indonesia, the reception may have 1,000 guests or more, which all must be personally greeted by the bride and groom before the festivities can start.

    South American Traditions

In Argentina, the groom's mother and the bride's father walk them down the aisle and remain with them throughout the ceremony in place of the traditional Maid of Honor and Best Man. The vows are exchanged at engagement, rather than during the wedding.

In Chile, rings are exchanged at engagement. The couple wears them on their right hands until the vows are exchanged in the wedding ceremony, at which point the rings are switched over to the left hand.

In Venezuela, the groom must ask for permission from the bride's father before he can propose. Two weeks before the religious ceremony takes place, a civil ceremony happens where the couple is officially married. Though there is a reception for both, the reception is larger for the religious ceremony.

    North American Traditions

In parts of Canada, the groom and all his close friends and family members will meet the bride at her home. Then, together they will travel to the Church in a procession of vehicles with the bride's parents. Some vehicles may be decorated in celebration of the wedding, and some guests may honk horns and yell out the window.

In the United States, it is customary to send invitations to the guests some months before the wedding ceremony takes place. These invitations are usually hand crafted and ornate, such as letterpress invitations. The guests respond to the invitations which then allows the bride and groom to appropriate plan for the number of guests in attendance.

In Mexico, engaged couples get sponsored. Traditionally, the couple's godparents act as "padrinos" or sponsors of the wedding. They serve as mentors to the bride and groom throughout the engagement, and throughout the course of the marriage. The padrinos are honored with a special place in the wedding program. They may offer the couple a Rosary and Bible during the wedding.

Why is it important for you to know how herpes symptoms show up? The CDC says that 1 in 6 people between the ages of 14 and 49 have genital herpes. That is why you should know about herpes symptoms and treatments. One of the most commonly contracted STDs for men and women is herpes. You cannot get rid of herpes. Herpes doesn't have a cure. Herpes stays with you for life. Therefore, it's vital to know what the signs are and what you should do if you feel you might be infected.

There is no way to look at someone and determine whether or not they have herpes. Some people will never have any herpes symptoms or signs. And because you can get infected with herpes from only a single episode of unprotected sex, it's recommended that you always put on a condom while having sex. STD testing is essential if there is any possibility that you could be infected, so that you can start treatment right away.

    Herpes Symptoms

During the first occurrence, signs start to show within 2-20 days of the first contact and can remain up to two weeks. At times, the signs are so minimal that the herpes infection could go undiagnosed, so whenever you have unprotected sex, it is recommended you get tested. On occasion, individuals who have had cold sores or facial herpes in the past might have more moderate symptoms due to partial immunity.

For the majority of people, the initial episode of herpes is the worst, particularly if their bodies haven't been exposed to any kind of the virus previously. When the virus gets into the cells of the skin, it starts multiplying right away, which brings about inflammation, redness and sensitivity. Most often, small bumps or blisters will occur in the genital region. Outbreaks are normally itchy, painful, and they might tingle or burn.

For females, blisters may break out in the outer genitals, vaginal region, buttocks, cervix, or anus. Men might see blisters on their scrotum, penis, buttocks, thighs, anus, or in the urethra.

It is vital to know that herpes has many more symptoms than just the obvious sores. If you've been exposed to the herpes virus, you might have "flu-like symptoms", enlarged lymph nodes, headache, muscle ache, fever, penile or vaginal discharge, burning when urinating, and lower back pain.

Remember, though, that over 60% of those infected have no symptoms and are unaware that they are infected. That makes having safe sex and frequent STD testing all the more crucial.

    Herpes Treatment

Future occurrences of herpes outbreaks are generally not as long or sever as the first, but do occur, typically around 4 times per year. However, they might lessen in occurrence as time goes on and are typically preceded by warning signs. Because a complete cure is impossible for sufferers right now, many people endure herpes their whole life, treating only the outbreaks when they show up.

Herpes outbreaks can be treated with medications. At times, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications are given, along with prescription antiviral drugs like Valtrex or Zovirax.

Article Title: The Fundamentals Of Shaving

    *********************** ARTICLE START ***********************

Shaving is the act of removing unwanted hair with a razor. Shaving is practiced both by men and women. Men mostly practice it to remove their facial hair but also to remove their leg, underarm, chest and head hair. A man with his beard completely removed is called 'clean-shaven'. Woman mainly shaves to remove their leg, underarm or any other body hair. A razor is a tool provided with a sharp-edged blade.

Shaving can be done in two ways-- either wet or manual shaving or dry shaving. Wet shaving is the traditional one and requires two types of manual razors - straight razors and safety razors. Dry shaving is done with an electric razor. An electric razor is an advanced type of razor that contains a set of oscillating blades that help remove the hair. This ensures fewer cuts in the skin, quick shaving and no water requirement but of electricity is a disadvantage.

Wet shaving has three requirements- a good quality razor, a good brush and shaving cream mixed with water as a lubricating agent. Lubricating the skin prevents the painful razor burn and also helps in hair softening. Luke warm water must be used with cream as it softens the hair, open the pores and cleanse the skin. Generally an aloe vera shaving cream is recommended by experts which contains unique combination of some natural ingredients to soothe and calm skin. Shaving brush also plays a very important role in getting a good shave which is made up of badger hair.

Cream is applied on the skin with the shaving brush which has soft long bristles. It helps make rich lather for a good and a smooth shave. An after-shave lotion is also used by many men after shaving which contains an antiseptic agent like isopropyl alcohol, thus prevents infection from cuts. It has a good aroma and also acts as a moisturizer to soften the facial skin.

There are also side effects of shaving. They include cuts, abrasions, irritations and skin infections. These can be minimized by using a fresh blade every time. Avoiding pressing of razor against the skin and applying a plenty of shaving cream can also be of great help. Cuts during shaving can be caused by wrong razor movement and can result into bleeding that can be stopped by cold water, pressing tissue paper etc., but use of moistened alum is recommended. Bandage can be applied if required, to promote healing. Razor burn is caused by using a blunt blade or an improper technique in areas especially with coarse hair that results into irritation appearing as a mild rash that disappears in few hours or days.

Always shave must be done first in the direction of the hair growth and then after re-lathering against the direction of hair growth. Short strokes are a better option for a close shave. Women also shave with the same technique but their strokes must be made upwards apart from being short but on legs long upward strokes can be made.

Also after shaving, disposable razors must be discarded and the permanent ones must be properly cleaned and then re-used. Shaved body parts must be rinsed off with cold water. Cuts, nicks and scrapes must be checked after shaving and if found must be cleaned with peroxide or antibiotic ointment. Use of cosmetics, creams or lotions must be avoided on the shaved areas for the next 8-12 hours to give skin abrasions time to heal and help prevent irritation that can be caused by chemical applications on the skin.

Times are tough and some reckon they could even get tougher – so if you're in the market for a new car but don't have a huge wad to spend, then picking up a bargain is essential. Trouble is that 'bargain' can sometimes mean cheap and nasty but with this lot, have no fear – you'll get real bang for your buck.

    Chevrolet Cruze

    From £12,795

The first generation of Chevrolet's re-badged Daweoos were the worst kind of bargain; buying one felt like you were scraping the bottom of the barrel. Thankfully, Chevrolet has got its act together and the decent-looking Cruze is much more like it. While the likes of the Kia Cee'd hatchback may offer a better drive, the Cruze is a saloon therefore, for the money, offers more space for you and the family. The ride is comfy too and there is a diesel option for those prudent types among you – even if it is a touch on the noisy side...

    Fiat 500

    From £8,700

A funky small car or a mere fashion accessory? We reckon both – the Fiat 500 is loaded with charm as well as being a great place to spend time in. Yes, the boot's small, the rear seats are on the pokey side and you can get something bigger and more practical for the money but what the heck, if you're looking for style on a relative shoestring, this Fiat's a cracker. And if you want to spend even less on an Italian, then the Fiat Panda is well worth a punt at £7,200.

    Ford Ka

    From £9,395

Ford know how to build cars for folk with small budgets – and the latest Ka shows that you don't need to compromise on quality. Refined on city streets while offering up plenty of fun on the back roads, this is a seriously grown-up car for the money. There are cheaper cars listed here but for the fun factor, the Ka remains difficult to dismiss.

    Hyundai i10

    From £7,760

If you're looking for an absurdly cheap car, then the i10 ticks all the boxes – as long as the list doesn't have a box labelled 'motorways'. Stretching i10's legs reveals it doesn't really have any but if you spend most of your time on city streets, then its 1.2-litre engine does the job and the boot's big enough for your weekly shop too. Basic, yes, but for folk not obsessed with looking suave round town, this is all you really need. And its five-year warranty is not something to be sniffed at either.

    Kia Cee'd

    From £10,995

Korean carmakers have been the butt of many a Jeremy Clarkson joke but Kia has emerged as a real player and the Cee'd hatchback is without doubt a great car offering lots of space and for its low price, proper levels of equipment. Factor in a good drive, Kia's stonking seven-year/100,000-mile warranty and the inclusion of frugal stop/start technology, and you have one of the best low budget full-blown hatchbacks around.

Lots of people wish to commence buying and selling or investigating the stock market however have no idea exactly how or where to start. One way of buying and selling is to start an investment club. Members of the investment club combine a set amount of funds per week or month, meet on a regular basis to research stocks and shares and then as a group decide where to place their particular investment money.

Tips On How To Structure An Investment Club

The members may consist of individuals you know via school or your social network or possibly business colleagues. The investment club can be made up of individuals from all walks of life and different income levels though generally, an investment club consists of people of the same means and pursuits. The minimum number of members to create an effective investment group is usually four or five with a maximum of about 10. The fundamental component in a successful investment club is the fact that all members provide an equal voice in the decision-making process.

After you've established the group step one will be to settle on a method of managing the money along with other administrative tasks. If your club includes a fellow member having a finance qualification that person may choose to become treasurer. Otherwise, you could opt to have a rotating treasurer or secretary. This person will deal with the funds contributed by the members, open the bank account and set up an account with a stock broker.

The basic guidelines of the club can be set out in a letter that may be given to all members. The rules should include:

    * The amount of money every member will contribute as well as how frequently contributions are to be made.

    * How the members of the group will present their particular investment options to the group. How the decisions about investment strategies are should be arrived at.

    * How the final purchase selections should be reached – a simple majority vote or unanimous vote.

    Fiscal Decisions

The investment club should open up a business account with a local bank or even online financial institution. Dependant upon your jurisdiction you may need to apply for the business identify and set up a partnership prior to opening the bank account. The investment club bank account should be created with at least two signatories on the account. If you would like all of the members to be able to access the account you may organise that with your bank.

The next thing is to create an account with an online stockbroker. There are lots to pick from and depending on their particular preferences you might need to open the account in the name of one or more members or the registered name of the club. Make an effort to keep this aspect simple. You are not a large investment club. Keep the structure as basic as possible. If you need help check with the bank manager, stockbroker or seek independent legal assistance.

All the members should present his or her stock choices. Every presentation should consist of the financial information from the company plus the last three years of prices as well as other material related to that investment. If a technical approach is taken to investing a member may wish to include things like stock charts with technical indicators.

    The Meetings

Your club meetings ought to be conducted like any business meeting. Chances are you'll all be friends and it does not need to be a formal event, nonetheless the aim of the meeting should be clear. Talk about previous investments and keep minutes of the occasion. Enable each member to present his or her thoughts in an orderly manner. Set aside a sufficient amount of time for the presentation of fresh investment suggestions. Make it easy for all members to ask questions of the presenter and also express their thoughts and opinions. A final vote should be announced. In conclusion decide on a date for the subsequent meeting.

Starting a stock market investment club may be entertaining route to produce permanent friendships whilst generating a few dollars in the process. To ensure you get the most out of your investment club download our free report on Starting Your Own Investment Club.

    *********************** ARTICLE START ***********************

To ensure your wee one doesn't end up injured (or worse) in a crash, choosing the right child seat should be a top priority for any family driver – but with so many seats available, it can be a nightmare choosing the right one.

In an accident, an unrestrained or incorrectly secured child becomes the equivalent of a human pinball. Sounds harsh but being thrown round the cabin or even out of window is a very real and life-threatening risk for an unharnessed child – so belting them up is essential and also a legal requirement.

While many child seat manufacturers offer the online ability to enter your car's details to check if their seat will fit in your motor, Buyacar recommends that you go along to a retailer and see the seat in person. There are three key advantages – one, you'll be able to see just how well your child fits and how comfortable they are. Secondly, you can double check the seat does fit properly and thirdly, the retailer's child seat specialist can take you through the installation procedure so you learn how to fit the seat correctly; despite the introduction of ISOFIX (see below), some seats can still be a bit of a fiddle to fit the first few times.

Baby and child seats come in all shapes and sizes; a key feature to bear in mind though is how it is secured. Some simply use the car's existing safety belts to secure the seat while others use the ISOFIX system where you can 'plug' the seat into special fixtures that are nestled in the back seats of most modern motors; the latter option while pricier offers a more secure and easier way of fixing the seat into position.

Babies should always be seated in a rear-facing seat and must never be placed on the front seat if your car has airbags fitted – an airbag going off can cause serious injuries to your loved one. Once your baby has either outgrown their first seat – he/she is over 9kg, can sit up unsupported and/or has outgrown the seat (the top of their head pokes above the top of the seat) – you can then move them into a forward-facing seat.

There are many swanky options available – from seats that can turn to face the car door to make placing or removing your child much easier through to seats that can recline the toddler into the ideal sleeping position. Do your research, check out reviews online and in the press, and make sure you get the seat you are happy with; after all, you could be stuck with your choice for years.

Finally, do yourself and your child a favour and don't cut corners. Buyacar recommends that you always buy new; while the idea of picking up a used unit might be tempting, you'll have no real idea where it's been, how it's been treated and if there are any hidden problems. Also, child seat development improves year on year so it pays to buy the latest – after all, it's more important to secure your child as safely as possible than it is to secure a bargain...

Article Title: The French Drain Solution For a Wet Basement

    *********************** ARTICLE START ***********************

There are many approaches to preventing moisture and water seepage from creating a wet basement. Michigan is particularly vulnerable due to the high levels of annual precipitation and the abundance of homes with basements. Waterproofing basement interiors has been a challenge in the construction industry for decades. While many new surface application products and basement crack injection methods have recently been developed, one of the most dependable and permanent solutions has been a variation of the traditional French drain system.

The French drain is named after Henry French who was a lawyer, judge and a farmer in Concord, Massachusetts. In 1859 he wrote a book on the subject, "Farm Drainage". Since a version of this system was used in ancient Rome, he cannot rightfully be credited as the inventor or discoverer. But, he certainly can lay claim as the one who updated the process and first demonstrated the usefulness on this low-tech approach to relocating large quantities of unwanted water.

Originally, a French drain was nothing much more than a ditch filled with rocks and stones, sloping away from an area of excess water accumulation to a receiving area. Since gravel and stones are much less dense than soil and with the assistance of gravity, water will tend to take the path of least resistance and head for the French drain. This is similar to the way standing water on a counter top is absorbed into a sponge. Over the years, the process has been refined as is now considered to be one of the most effective and economical tools that basement waterproofing contractors have for waterproofing basement interiors and foundations.

The most cost-effective approach is to create a trench around the perimeter of the basement on the inside. It is best to be about 12 to 16 inches from the wall and about 12 to 18 inches deep. The trench is then lined with a fabric to keep the soil in place. Next, a bed of stone is applied. Drain tile (perforated pipe) goes on top of that and is covered with another layer of washed stone. The fabric filters the water flowing to the drain tile, keeping soil from washing through and clogging the drain system. Regularly spaced clean-outs should, nonetheless, be installed at specified intervals for routine maintenance. Once a proper French drain system is installed, water from the outside can no longer run under the foundation to the basement floor.

Additionally, it is best to drill weep holes through cinder block foundation bases to facilitate drainage of any water that makes its way inside the blocks. It is released and directed into the drain tile system. Moisture that makes its way through the foundation wall above the French drain system simply passes through a gap in the newly poured concrete floor perimeter into the drain tile. Foundation crack repairs will eliminate that problem from occurring in the first place.

Finally, basement waterproofing contractors will use a sump pump to eliminate the water flowing through the drain tiles. It is buried below the entire drain system and sends collected water outside, where it belongs!

A crawl space is defined as a type of basement that is so shallow you cannot stand up. Specifically, it is the area between the ground and the floor of the structure above. It may or may not be sealed off from the outside by a cinder block wall or other framing; generally there is a perimeter wall for the sake of appearing more finished. The distinguishing feature, and the one that causes problems is that the floor of a crawl space is earth.

Crawl space waterproofing presents unique problems within a residential home. In order to keep ground moisture vapor from rising up into the home and creating structural damage you must seal it off. Short of the very expensive solution of creating a finished basement beneath an existing house, how do you "seal" the ground while at the same time permitting it to serve as usable storage space?

In the past, a layer of Visqueen (a trademarked brand of polyethylene sheeting) was simply placed over the earth to serve as the crawl space vapor barrier. This is effective in the short run, preventing water vapor from rising into the structure of the house to some degree. Inevitably though, it develops cracks and is dislodged due to foot traffic and item storage. Another method that was often utilized was to build vents into the crawl-space walls. The thinking was that air circulation would force the moisture in the crawl space air to end up outside. Testing proved this to be wrong; in fact, lower humidity levels were achieved in a closed environment that had utilized proper crawl space repair techniques than one that was vented. Obviously, winter temperatures are also more easily controlled without the openings.

Without question, much of the remedy is a floor and wall vapor barrier. Crawl space dynamics have resulted in fiber reinforced membrane materials that effectively contain soil moisture. If this membrane is installed properly, it will be attached to the walls with overlapping seams of at least six inches. Also, due to the "stack effect", warm air in a home rises and then leaves through the upper walls and attic. The home then replaces that warm air with cooler air sucked up from the crawl space below, which penetrates from the earth and crawl-space walls. So, sealing the walls in addition to the floor keeps the moisture and soil gases from entering the home in the first place.

There are many other benefits to crawl-space waterproofing. Moist air provides the perfect breeding environment for dust mites, roaches and spiders, not to mention molds and bacteria. Ultimately, larger vermin are also discouraged as they feed on the insects that in turn, feed on the mold and mildew. Your home is not the ideal place for the food chain to proliferate!

Aside from the "ick" factor, the negative effects of moisture on the structure of the house can get expensive and dangerous. Flooring boards expand and buckle, rot permeates beams and joists, condensation occurs on insulation, water pipes and ductwork, humidity increases in living areas raising heating and air conditioning costs and electrical-mechanical systems deteriorate. All of this decreases the value of the home.

If your crawl space is not presently sealed, contact a fully insured and licensed foundation waterproofing and repair company. The best ones will generally come out to the house and perform a free inspection and prepare an estimate for the repairs.

Leeds Castle in Kent is full of history and romance. Here is our guide to the top ten reasons of why you should visit the stunning castle and grounds.

    1. It's beauty and romanticism. The breathtaking setting of Leeds Castle and sheer beauty and romantic feel to the architecture make it one of Britain's "must see" castles. It is not as famous as Windsor Castle, nor does it have the historical significance of other castles in Britain, but its appeal is unparalleled.

    2. History. While Leeds Castle did not play a major role in the formation of the British Empire, there are a number of historical elements that make the Castle worth seeing.

The original structure was a manor house built on one of the islands on the River Lens by a Saxon lord in the 9th century. A nobleman named Robert de Crevecoeur began construction on the original stone structure in 1119. By 1278 the castle had been taken over by the monarchy and it became the official residence for Edward I and Queen Eleanor of Castile, as well as an armed fortress. It was under their reign that most of the additions that make it the way it is today were added. This included three separate wings with their own entryways as well as a drawbridge and entrance gate.

Henry VIII remodeled the castle for his wife Catherine of Aragon, changing its main purpose from that of fortress to more of a royal palace. Later, Henry married Ann Boleyn and subsequently declared their daughter, Elizabeth, illegitimate. Because of this, her brother, Edward VI awarded the crown of queen to another and Elizabeth was actually imprisoned for a time at Leeds Castle before being set free and ultimately claming the thrown as Queen Elizabeth I.

By the time the English Civil War in the mid 17th century came along, Leeds Castle no longer belonged to the monarchy and had become privately owned. After changing hands many times in the next 300 years, it was given to the Leeds Castle Foundation to preserve the castle and surrounding acreage for the public.

    3. A visit to Leeds Castle does not stop at touring this magnificent piece of history. A tour of the Castle also includes the world's only dog collar museum. Separate tours include the different gardens on the grounds including the beautiful Culpepper Gardens and a typical English garden.

    4. The aviary. Leeds Castle has several aviaries that are known around the world. The different aviaries include exotic birds, peacocks wandering the grounds, swans swimming on the waters of the moat, and even a "duckery". The duckery includes very rare black swans.

    5. While in London... With its close proximity to London, a visit to Leeds Castle can include a stay in London to enjoy all of its history and splendor. Trains run from Victoria Station to Maidstone, only four miles from the Castle.

    6. Leeds Castle Hot Air Balloon Rides. Between April and November you can take a breathtaking hot air balloon ride either at sunrise or sunset that takes you high over the castle and above the countryside around Kent.

    7. Hedge Maze. This maze was built in 1988 and is made from 2400 yew trees. The maze is a bit intriguing because not all of the "walls" of the maze are connected. The typical method of finding your way through a maze by following a wall does not apply.

    8. Events. Many annual events are held at Leeds Castle because it makes such a wonderful backdrop. Typical yearly events include jousting tournaments, complete with knights on horses, archery exhibitions, and hawk flying displays. Theater productions are often held on the grounds at Leeds, such as an annual production of Pride and Prejudice.

    9. Golf. A small nine-hole golf course is on the grounds near the Castle, built in 1924. Who could ask for a better atmosphere for a game of golf?

    10. Holiday cottages. There are even holiday cottages for hire on the grounds of the Castle. This is perfect when planning to attend an event at Leeds or visiting any of the many nearby attractions like Canterbury and Sissinghurst Castle.

Leeds Castle offers something for everyone from history, to gardens and exotic birds, golf, or just relaxing and soaking up the stunning scenery of the castle and the grounds.
