While many patients are just now learning about minimally invasive spine surgery and its benefits, this type of procedure has actually been around for many years. Some healthcare institutions have recently adopted this means of treatment, but the procedure has long been considered a clinical surgery, as opposed to an experimental surgery. As the name implies, an experimental surgery is one that is still in the early stages of being tested and does not have enough valid data regarding outcomes to make it a safe option for the majority of patients. , On the other hand, a clinical surgery like minimally invasive spine surgery, involves surgical techniques and technology that has been developed and standardized over an extended period of time.

What Is the History of Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery?

To get a clearer sense of how minimally invasive spine surgeries differ from experimental surgeries, it may be useful to look at the history of the procedure, its development, and the recent advances in technology that have now made it a viable treatment option for many spine conditions.

A minimally invasive spine surgery involves an endoscope, which is a tiny camera that can be inserted into tubes that enter the body through a small incision. This is what allows a surgeon to see the inside of the spine without having to make an extremely large incision or cut away musculature and soft tissues. The concept for an endoscope was first developed in the early 1800s, but it was not until the middle of the next century that endoscopes were used in clinical settings to explore openings in the body for diagnostic purposes only. The late 1950s saw the development of fiber optics, which allowed a photographic image to be created from the endoscope. During the late 1970s and 1980s, surgeons began using endoscopes to perform minimally invasive discectomies on patients with herniated discs and bulging discs.

Why Is Endoscopic Spine Surgery Less Invasive?

Prior to the development of surgical endoscopes for spinal procedures, the only way that surgeons could have a clear view of the spine and have room to perform the necessary surgery was by making an extremely large incision and dissecting the muscles, tendons, and ligaments around the spine. This is obviously a more invasive technique that poses a high risk of infection, nerve damage, scar tissue formation, and other complications. However, an endoscope is an extremely small tool that can be funneled to the site of spine damage through a series of telescoping tubes. The tubes can be inserted through a small incision and connective tissues are simply moved aside, not cut, with the use of pituitary rongeurs. Once the endoscope has reached the area that needs to be addressed, it can project an extremely detailed, precise video image of the interior of the spine onto a monitor for the surgeon to see.

Is Endoscopic Surgery Right For Me?

Although many patients who suffer from debilitating spine conditions may be interested in endoscopic spine surgery, not all individuals will be candidates for this type of procedure. People with mild to moderate degenerative spine conditions who have tried a wide range of conservative treatments may be candidates for this type of surgery, whereas patients with structural instability in their spines from conditions like scoliosis and spondylolisthesis may require a more targeted stabilization surgery like spinal fusion.

Article Title: Can Social Media Strengthen the Relationship Between a Doctor and a Patient?

    *********************** ARTICLE START ***********************

Social media, by definition, is a very public arena that involves large networks of people who are connected in various ways. For this reason, it may not seem like social media could be a viable way for doctors and patients to communicate and strengthen their relationship. After all, the doctor-patient relationship is and should be based on confidentiality and privacy. However, it is becoming increasingly more common for doctors to make themselves available on social media platforms so that they can share information with their patients and the community. From sharing links about new medical research to giving treatment tips on a Twitter feed, there are a variety of ways that healthcare professionals can use social media to improve communication with their patients and provide them with information and resources they need to make educated decisions about their health.

    Bridging the Communication Gap

One of the primary reasons that doctors and patients often fail to communicate is a lack of understanding. Patients may feel intimated by doctors because they do not have the same level of medical experience and expertise. If patients have questions, they may not feel comfortable asking them or they may feel hesitant about a treatment being prescribed but not confident enough to voice their concerns. While doctors are specialists in their fields, patients should always remember that they are in charge of their own bodies and only they can consent to or refuse treatment. An important way that patients can empower themselves to have an honest dialogue with their doctors is by educating themselves about their particular health condition and the treatments that are available to them. Similarly, doctors should make an effort to explain information in terms the patient will understand.

This is where social media may come in as a building block for better communication. Doctors can use online forums, message boards, and other social media outlets to convey information in an approachable, understandable way. Patients can then peruse the information from the comfort of their own homes, not the rushed, stressful environment of a doctor's office. Patients can also use social media platforms to ask doctors questions, interact with other patients, and share information regarding treatment resources that they have found.

How Doctors and Patients Can Use Facebook

If doctors choose to use Facebook to better communicate with patients, there should be a definitive boundary between how they use this social media platform professionally and how they use it personally. It may not be a good idea to become "friends" with patients through a personal Facebook page, but creating an authorized medical page where patients can follow their doctor is a better way to keep the relationship professional. The page needs to be HIPPA compliant and any information on the page should never in any way compromise the privacy of any patient. Naming patients, referring to specific cases, and sharing patient photos are a few examples of conduct that would not be acceptable on a doctor's professional Facebook page. Using the page as a means of pooling information and resources for patients should be the primary concern, whereas interactions with individual patients regarding diagnoses and treatments should likely take place on the phone, via email, or in the office.

    Knowing the Risks

There are obvious risks that come with doctors and patients using social media to develop a stronger relationship and improve communication skills. It is important that both parties understand these risks and acknowledge that using the Internet to communicate presents the potential for breaches in privacy and professionalism. If patients are concerned with the idea of "friending" their doctors or "following" them on social media sites, they should have a conversation with the healthcare professional to find out if there are any anonymous or less public ways in which they can communicate with their doctors. Many hospitals and clinics are now offering secure, online patient portals where patients access a variety of resources online.

When you choose to undergo any type of surgery, including weight loss surgery, it is imperative that you empower yourself to make the best possible decisions for your health by doing as much research as possible. Becoming educated about your condition, the type of surgery you will undergo, and what to expect during the recovery process can actually help surgical outcomes. Not only will you be able to have a more open, honest dialogue with your surgeon, but you will also be able to make better choices during your rehabilitation. This is especially true for weight loss surgery, also called bariatric surgery, because the success of the surgery depends largely on how well patients adhere to a strict regimen of diet and exercise in the months and years following the procedure.

Who Is a Candidate for Weight Loss Surgery?

Many people think that weight loss surgery is considered a cosmetic procedure and that anyone is a candidate. On the contrary, bariatric surgery is reserved for morbidly obese individuals whose lives are at risk because of their weight. Many factors go into determining if someone is a candidate for weight loss surgery, including:

    • Physical condition – In general, candidates for weight loss surgery will be required to have a BMI (Body Mass Index) of 40 or higher.

    • Weight-related conditions – In addition to a high BMI, other factors that may influence someone's candidacy are health conditions related to their weight, such as sleep apnea.

    • Psychological factors – Many surgeons will require patients to undergo a psychological evaluation prior to recommending surgery to ensure that the patient has both realistic expectations and a commitment to long-term wellness.

    • Past attempts at treatment – A doctor will want to make sure that someone who is considering weight loss surgery has already made a concerted effort to lose weight through diet, exercise, and medication.

    Types of Weight Loss Surgery

There are several types of weight loss surgery available. Some of the most common include gastric banding, gastric bypass surgery, and sleeve gastrectomy:

    • Gastric banding – An inflatable band is used to pinch the stomach into two sections that are connected via a narrow passageway, which drastically limits the amount of food a person can take in.

    • Gastric bypass surgery – Similar to gastric banding, the stomach is sectioned into a large and small part. In this procedure, however, the smaller section is connected to the intestines so the body has less of a chance to absorb calories from food.

    • Sleeve gastrectomy – Performed using a laparoscope, this type of surgery involves the removal of about 80 percent of the stomach, leaving only a narrow tube or sleeve to connect the esophagus to the intestines.

    Making a Commitment to Wellness

Weight loss surgery is by no means a golden ticket. Doctors will stress that the procedure itself is merely the first step in what will be a lifelong commitment to eating well and staying active. The first weeks and months after weight loss surgery are crucial for establishing a diet and exercise regimen. It is also imperative that you follow all postoperative dietary restrictions carefully. Depending on the type of procedures being performed, you will most likely be on an all-liquid diet for several days or weeks following surgery. Solid food will only be introduced gradually. On average, it takes about a year for the full results of weight loss surgery to become apparent. Studies show that patients who do not adhere to strict guidelines for diet and exercise often begin gaining weight back within five years of surgery.

Many patients decide to explore the prospect of undergoing a minimally invasive spine surgery when they suffer from a degenerative spine condition and have been unable to find relief with conservative treatments. This type of procedure is a safer, more effective alternative to open back surgery like spinal fusion. A spinal fusion is a highly invasive procedure that involves hospitalization, a large incision, dissection of musculature and soft tissues, and the excision of significant portion of the spinal anatomy. A bone graft and stabilizing hardware is also necessary to facilitate the fusion of the vertebrae and secure them in place. As you can imagine, this type of surgery involves a fairly lengthy and arduous recovery process. After remaining in the hospital for several days following the procedure, spinal fusion patients may be looking at up to a year of rehabilitation.

The Benefits of a Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery

Minimally invasive surgery offers a variety of benefits over a traditional spinal fusion surgery. Minimally invasive surgery is an outpatient procedure, which means that no hospitalization is involved. Most patients are able to walk and return home the day of surgery. Other benefits include:

    • Only an extremely small incision is required (usually less than one inch in length)

    • Muscles, ligaments, and tendons are moved aside, not cut

    • A larger portion of the spinal anatomy is left intact

    • Many minimally invasive surgeries do not require the implantation of a bone graft or hardware

    • There is less risk of infection, nerve damage, and scar tissue formation

    • The risk of developing failed back surgery syndrome is significantly lower

    • Patients enjoy a faster, less painful recovery

    Conditions Treated

A variety of conditions may be treated with minimally invasive spine surgery. Primarily, patients with mild to moderate degenerative conditions make the best candidates for this type of procedure. Some of the conditions commonly treated with minimally invasive spine surgery include herniated discs, bulging discs, spinal stenosis, bone spurs, and spondylolisthesis. Some types of procedures are also aimed at conditions that involve structural problems within the spine like scoliosis, vertebral fractures, and pars defects. Minimally invasive spine surgeries are primarily considered nerve decompression procedures because many of the above procedures cause radiculopathy (compression of or damage to spinal nerve root) or myelopathy (compression of the spinal cord due to an anatomical abnormality within the spine).

    Types of Procedures

Minimally invasive spine surgeries can take many forms. Some of the most common procedures include:

    • Percutaneous discectomy – This procedure aims to remove a portion of an intervertebral disc that is herniated or bulging and pressing on spinal nerve root or the spinal cord.

    • Laminotomy – During this procedure, a portion of the lamina (a thin, bony plate that forms a roof over the spinal cord) is removed to make room for neural structures.

    • Foraminotomy – This type of procedure widens one or more foramen, which is the open passageway on either side of vertebrae through which spinal nerves pass. The area is debrided and cleared of any bone or tissue material that may have been causing compression of spinal nerve roots.

    • Facet thermal ablation – During this procedure, a heat source is used to deaden or desensitize the local nerves that are located inside of the spine's facet joints that may be compressed due to spinal arthritis or the formation of bone spurs.

    Other Alternatives to Surgery

Regardless of whether you are considering open spine surgery or a minimally invasive surgery, remember that any type of surgery should be considered a last resort treatment option. While outpatient procedures like those listed above present fewer risks than open spine surgery, they still involve their own sets of risks and benefits that should be weighed carefully before a decision is made. If you suffer from a degenerative spine condition but feel you are not ready for surgery of any kind, talk to your doctor about other conservative therapies that may offer you relief. Stem cell therapy, prolotherapy, cortisone injections, nerve block injections, and transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) may all be viable options.

Dad's big holiday is on June 16 so it is time to plane a unique gift to show him how much you care. A Grand Canyon bus tour is a great idea. Tours run on the usual schedule that day and this is a trip your dad will never forget. Bus tours are a great value and they are pretty exciting too.

The 16th is fast approaching so you want to book your seats as soon as possible. If you wait too long, the tours may be sold out and you and your dad will be disappointed.

You can catch a bus tour every day of the year from both Vegas and Phoenix. If you start your tour in Vegas, you can go to the West or South Rims, but if you leave from Phoenix, you will go to the South Rim only.

Bus from Phoenix to South Rim

The bus trip from Phoenix to the Grand Canyon is incredibly scenic and you will see a lot on your 3 hour ride. One awesome sight is in Sedona, which is noted for the amazing red rock buttes in the area. The tour bus takes you to the city of Tusayan, Arizona, which is close to the main gates of the Grand Canyon. The Grand Canyon National Park Airport is located here.

Or you might want to opt for a luxury van tour instead, but these only hold 12 people so space is limited. If you want the ultimate in comfort and a more personalized trip, it might be a good option for you.

Bus from Vegas to the Grand Canyon

You have a lot of options when it comes to Vegas coach tours. The basic option goes to the West Rim while the upgraded one lets you add on a float tour of the Colorado River, a walk on the all-glass bridge or a chopper descent to the floor of the canyon.

The helicopter flight to the bottom of the Grand Canyon is awesome and the West Rim's the only place that is allowed. On the other hand, you don't want to miss out on the Skywalk either because it is the biggest glass cantilevered bridge on earth.

A lot of people love taking the bus tour out of Las Vegas that goes to the South Rim. It is a 5 hour bus ride to the South Rim, while the ride to the West Rim is about half that. The longer ride is worth it though because the South Rim is so scenic. A lot of the iconic photos of the Grand Canyon were taken at the South Rim.

If you can do it, take the rim-to-rim aerial tour while you are there. You will get to fly over to the North Rim and back. It is an amazing experience because you get to soar over the deepest and widest part of the canyon called the Dragoon Corridor.

Getting Discounts When You Book Your Tour

If you want to take dad on a bus tour to celebrate his holiday, try to get your tickets a week or two ahead of time. If you wait until last minute, you may run into trouble. You might not be able to get seats at all, or the ones available may not be the best choice.

Keep in mind, the lowest rates are only available on the Web. You can use the Internet discount when you buy your tickets online on the tour operator's site. If you buy your seats from, say, your hotel concierg or travel agent, you will pay a lot more.

    *********************** ARTICLE START ***********************

Well, it's almost here – the day most Americans wait for eagerly – the July 4th holiday! If you're considering a trip to Grand Canyon National Park for Independence Day, you'd better book your tour right away. July 4th is one of the Park's most popular times, and tours on Grand Canyon helicopters traditionally sell out fast.

Chopper tours fly out of Tusayan, AZ (where Grand Canyon National Park Airport is located) and Las Vegas, NV. Tusayan flights do the South Rim, while Vegas tours head for Grand Canyon West.

    South Rim Tours

At the South Rim, flights on Grand Canyon helicopters come in two versions: a 30-minute rim-to-rim tour (South to North and back, including a flight through dramatic Dragoon Corridor); and a more extensive tour that gives you 50 minutes of airtime.

The longer flight includes everything in the 30-minute tour but so much more. It's become my personal favorite at this Rim. You'll see the South Rim, the North Rim, and everything up to the Park's eastern boundary. All told, it covers about ¾ of the entire National Park!

South Rim choppers aren't allowed to fly below the level of the rim or land on the bottom. That unique experience is only possible at the West Rim.

    West Rim Tours

Flying from morning until sundown, these Grand Canyon helicopters depart from Vegas-area airfields every hour. They come in air-only and enhanced landing versions.

The air-only tours are cheapest and they're a great value. They're perfect for folks who are short on time, have limited funds, or just want to get the flavor of the canyon. Besides Grand Canyon West, you'll see Hoover Dam and Lake Mead during one of these flights.

The landing flights are my favorites, though. As I mentioned before, the West Rim is the only place where your chopper can land on the bottom, almost 4,000 feet below the edge of the rim! That's exciting enough, but it also enables you to add some terrific side trips.

The tour that lands on the bottom and includes a Champagne picnic is one of the most popular. A lot of folks make it even better by adding a float trip down the Colorado River. Another popular package adds VIP access to the Grand Canyon Skywalk. This all-glass cantilevered bridge lets you walk 70 feet past the edge of the rim!

    Booking and Discounts

The July 4th holiday is one of the Park's most popular times, and helicopter tours almost always sell out. That's why I strongly urge you to book your flight at least a week or two ahead of time. You'll be able to get a seat and have a better shot at snagging one of the preferred flight times (morning flights are best).

The best prices are always on the 'Net. But don't buy your seats from one of the big-box travel sites like Viator, Orbitz or Priceline. Buy direct, from the tour company's website. Complete your purchase on their site and you'll get a super Internet discount!

    Summing Up

Summer is always busy at the Grand Canyon, but many folks make a special point of going there for the July 4th holiday. That makes it important to book your helicopter tour at least a week in advance. To get the special Internet price, you'll need to complete your purchase on the tour company's website.

July 4th is one of the Park's busiest times of the year. Many tours sell out for the holiday (so you need to book yours quickly), but Grand Canyon plane tours seem to be some of the most popular. The plane tours are exciting but they are so popular because they give you a unique perspective on the immense natural landmark. The National Park covers over 1 million acres, so the only way to see it is to fly over in a plane.

Airplane tours fly out of Tusayan, AZ (home of Grand Canyon National Park Airport, or GCN) and Las Vegas, NV. The flights out of Tusayan go to the South Rim and the flights out of Vegas go to the West and South Rims. There are no flights that go between the West Rim and South Rim.

    Tusayan Airplane Tours

Grand Canyon plane tours leaving from Tusayan are perfect for folks coming from Phoenix, Sedona, Flagstaff, Williams, Scottsdale, or other points in Arizona. Drive or take a bus to the Grand Canyon National Airport to begin your tour. You must be sure to check in at least 30 minutes before time for your tour to depart.

You will have several tour choices but one of the more popular options is the hour-long flight that flies over about three-fourths of the entire National Park. Some fantastic options you can add on include a rafting excursion along a smooth water section of the Colorado River and a Jeep 4x4 ride to Antelope Canyon to see the amazing Slot Canyons.

    Las Vegas Air Tours

If you can depart from Las Vegas, you have the most options for touring the Grand Canyon. They have several options, including air-only and landing flights.

Air-only tours are ideal for folks with limited time or strict budgets. These flights go to the West Rim and back and fly over some fantastic sights such as Lake Mead and the massive Hoover Dam.

The air tours are fantastic but the landing tours are even more exciting, so you should try one if you have the time. For instance, you could try the most popular West Rim airplane tour that comes with a thrilling helicopter flight to the canyon floor where you hop on a raft to float along the smooth waters of the Colorado River. Another thrilling tour is the one that comes with VIP access to the Grand Canyon Skywalk, if you take it you can walk 70 feet away from the edge of the canyon on a glass sidewalk.

The West Rim is filled with adventure, but you can go to the South Rim from Vegas if you prefer. These tours fly you to the Grand Canyon National Park Airport where you get on a bus that drives you through the National Park on a tour that takes about three hours. You can also add on an exciting helicopter ride that takes you from the South Rim to the North Rim and back.

    Booking

Remember, the Fourth of July will be very busy at the canyon. I urge you to book your plane tour at least a week ahead of the date you want (two weeks ahead would be even safer). Book your seats on the Web for the best prices. Avoid big sites such as Viator, Expedia, or Priceline though and go straight to the tour operator's website. If you buy your ticket through the company's site, you qualify for the discounted Internet rate.

    Summing Up

The Fourth of July holiday is an extremely busy time for tour operators. Lock down your seats by booking a week or two ahead. Remember to buy your seats online so you get the low Internet rate. All the airplane tours of the Grand Canyon are fantastic fun so no matter which option you choose, you will have a wonderful time. Who know, I might just see you there!

Demand for Africa's riches-both mined and grown-continues to stimulate a rush of cargo operators to the continent, and with them comes investment in assets and people.

At the Air Cargo Africa conference in Johannesburg this February, delegates and exhibitors were united in their confidence that growth is sustainable and here for the long term.

Sanjeev Gadhia, CEO of Kenya cargo carrier Astral Aviation, said what was significant was the growing wealth of Africans themselves.

"The middle-class population is growing more numerous and more sophisticated," he said."People who used to go abroad for their studies and stayed abroad are now starting to come back again with credit cards and the latest gadgets; their i Pads and Blackberries.

"Only a few years ago I couldn't buy on Amazon and have it delivered to me: I had to have a friend bring it from London .But now we can buy things on credit cards using mobile phones. It may not be delivered tomorrow, it will be more like five days, but that doesn't matter to them. The middle class will lead to immense air cargo growth in Africa."

Lida Mantzavinou, an aerospace and defense consultant at Frost & Sullivan, agreed:"The global cargo market is experiencing a revolution. New trade corridors are emerging linking the markets of Africa, Latin America, the Middle East and Asia, which are growing faster than Western markets.Africa's emerging middle class, infrastructure developments and increasing foreign direct investments (FDI) will eventually drive cargo traffic growth, which by 2030 is expected to grow by 5.8%."

She added that by 2030, Africa's fleet would double to 1,210 aircraft, 60% being additions to existing fleets.

"The major legacy airlines are growing domestically through regional partnerships and internationally through foreign partnerships," she explained."Some prominent examples of this include South Africa Airlines strengthening its partnership with Emirates and Qantas to grow in the Middle East and Asia. Ethiopian Airlines partnered with the Togolese carrier A sky to better serve east Africa and joined the Star Alliance in order to benefit from strengthened partnerships with the Alliances Asia members."

Ethiopian Airlines' recent growth parallels the continents own .Daniel Mebrate, associate vice president, Ethiopian Cargo, said: "2012 was a good year. We started operations with two new good year. We started operations with two new 777-200LR freighters-the first in Africa-out of six on order. We are now working to establish a cargo hub in Lome (Togo) for the West Africa market to add to our existing regional hubs in Dubai, Hong Kong, Liege and Mumbai. We are also building a facility, which is slated to be in terms of capacity the biggest perishable warehouse in the world."

Kenya Airways ,the continents other major success story ,has also been responding to the tremendous amount of perishable cargo coming out of the country ,largely heading to Europe's hungry supermarkets.

Last year, it and KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, jointly launched the first direct freighter service between mainland China and Africa. The Boeing 747—400F-dubbed'safari connection' –flies between Nairobi and Guangdong aspart of the Amsterdam-Guangzhou-Nairobi –Lagos –Nairobi-Amsterdam circuit, carrying 120 tones ,more than five times the belly capacity of the Boeing 777.

The airline plans to introduce 12 freighters into its growing fleet over the next 10 years, some wholly owned and others leased.

Non-African carriers are also flocking to the continent.

"We've seen really good growth in and out of both east and west Africa," said Duncan Watson, vice president for cargo commercial operations-Middle East, Africa and Pakistan at Emirates Sky Cargo.

"Last year we launched our Zambia-Zimbabwe route. We started using an A330 but upgraded to a 777, from five flights a week to daily, from October. We also delinked the flight to Entebbe and Addis Ababa.Thats given some great additional lift to both markets. We've also added freighter connections into Tripoli, Cairo, Djibouti, Khartoum and Lusaka. Overall we're seeing very strong demand from all points we operate from and well try to expand destinations and connections as we go into 2013.My expectations for Africa in 2013 are very positive."

Lufthansa Cargo is also seeing solid growth, especially out of Egypt, Ethiopia and Kenya, said Hermann Zunker, regional director Africa. That growth is attracting others."In the past year we have seen a number of carriers expanding their network into Africa, often in line with fleet expansion and also due to softening of demand from Asia and saturation of other markets," he said.

The integrators are also taking note. Thomas Nieszer, CEO Europe .Middle East and Africa of DHL Global Forwarding, said the company is planning "unmatched access of capacity "to and from Africa using its in-house carrier, Star Broker.

DHL is also working to develop airfreight intra-Africa primarily for its oil and gas, and mining customers in west, central and southern Africa.

However, such an emerging market has its problems. Claude Picciotto, air freight procurement director for SDV Logistique International, which has along airfreight history in Africa, said many are attracted to the continent but few have what it takes to succeed there."Several airlines have started flying to Africa only to stop after six months," he pointed out."They are interested in Africa because the yields come bigger margins. They were looking at the IATA CASS figures and thought Africa was the new Eldorado."

Of those new and existing carriers to the continent, Picciotto only rates a few as having the knowledge to succeed there.

"Cargolux, Air France, Avient and Allied definitely understand the market and will be reactive if it booms in one country or region to quickly place additional capacity," he said.

So why do so many fail?

Local knowledge is apparently essential as the continents largest problems are political instability, poor infrastructure and handling facilities, and excessive regulations and bureaucracy; a complaint widely voiced at the conference.

Any of these can lead to disruptions to smooth operations and with air cargo's small margins, any disruption can easily leads a venture from profit to loss –witness the many cancellations of services throughout North Africa following the Arab Spring.

As well as these problems, Nieszer added the need to improve overall customs regulations and cargo-handling security, while Mebrate added traffic rights."One has to go through a long bureaucratic process before securing fifth and seventh traffic freedom rights," he said."As we develop the air cargo industry on the continent: countries need to ease stringent policies which are crucial to build a conducive operating environment for airlines. Watson added: "There has been an improvement [in professionalism and infrastructure development] in a number of the markets but there needs to be continual improvement over the next two or three years to maintain the kind of capacity that is being brought into the markets. Places such as Kenya, Ethiopia and Uganda need to continue to develop their handling capacity in line with market growth."

Barry Nassberg, chief operating officer for cargo handler Worldwide Flight Services (WFS, trading on the continent as Africa Flight Services), is confident that improving standards of services in Africa is achievable.

"There is along way to go but I'm more convinced than ever that its not impossible.Theres huge demand for cargo handling to the standard were used to in Europe or North America. And you don't have to be a brilliant innovator. If you can just bring what is here up to today's current standards, that would be a big step forward. We feel we can really contribute with that.Theres plenty to keep us busy.

    Number One Hurdle

Challenges do remain though. Joanna Botcherby an analyst at OAG, said airport infrastructure was the number one hurdle the industry must jump."The goal [in Africa] is to have a single sky operation but before this can be achieved, individual aviation authorities need to develop their own infrastructure at home. They must progress efforts to improve infrastructure at airports if they are to cope with growing traffic .Data indicates an average increase in capacity of 5%, yet facilities remained the same.

"The smaller airports in Africa are still struggling with infrastructure challenges and ability to accommodate transit between airports and they are all yet to fully establish services incorporating reliable information technology platforms to process cargo."

Astrals Gadhia said the largest challenge is lack of market access due to Africa governments out if they relax regulations but actually they're harming their own people. A lot of the services airports offer airlines only come from one monopolistic service provider, not the three and five that you get in some of the more developed markets, such South Africa or Kenya. That also means they can and do charge very high rates, which we have to pay .Ultimately that affects the cost of the commodity, so it is the consumer who ends up paying more."

Nassberg agreed: "Yes, people and infrastructure are important but before you talk about them you have to remember is that very difficult.

"The thing you have to remember is that there is no 'Africa' .You can refer to Europe and know countries ,but Africa has 51 countries ,each with very different histories, cultures and unique problems to overcome-in particular their own regulation issues, such as foreign companies ability to invest, security obstacles and access to airports.

    Seeing The Cracks

"There is no one easy solution. You have to tackle it one country at a time, but were seeing the cracks.Globalization has had its impact .African governments are starting to recognize they need foreign investment and that they shouldn't treat their airports as strategic national assets."

Fortunately, Africans themselves are starting to widen those cracks. Their growing wealth is in part due to air cargo's migration from North America and Europe to the Middle East and Asia, both of which need Africa's resources. With that wealth, Africans are now more willing to invest in other African companies and countries.

"Were seeing a shift in economic power from West to East," explained Zemedeneh Negatu,a managing partner of Ernest & Young based in Ethiopia."That's a permanent trend. In 2010 North Americas share of the global gross domestic product was 22% .The forecast is that by 2050 it will be 11% ,whereas Africa will go from 4% to 12% .Last year investment in Africa increased 27% despite the global economic uncertainties, especially in the Eurozone. Those are sold numbers.

"Now ,what's interesting is that Africans themselves are more confident about their continent, unlike in the bad old days of the 1980s and 1990s .Intra-Africa trade has increased 10-fold in the last 10 years and intra-Africa investment-South African companies going north, Kenyan companies going east, Nigerian companies investing in west Africa-as well as FDI,increased substantially in the same period .That's a solid measure of the sentiment we see in the marketplace."

    Remain Skeptical

There are still many, even at the conference, who remain skeptical that cargo's massive growth in Africa will continue, none of whom are willing to go on record. Others are more optimistic though.

"No ,I don't think Africa will be a flash in the pan," said Ram Meneb, senior divisional vice president at Emirates Sky Cargo."In the past we've seen South Africa and Kenya being the growth areas but now west and central Africa are catching up. They're leap-frogging technology and their growth will be a lot more sustainable.

"But will the capacity that is currently being deployed in Africa remain there? I doubt that very much. A certain amount of capacity will remain, in places like South Africa, Kenya and Lagos, but elsewhere capacity will reduce."

Gadhia had the final word."It's encouraging that there is a lot of confidence in the market," he said."There is not as much competition from road and rail that you have elsewhere. In Africa, air cargo is definitely here to stay."

When you look to build an audience online today, you will find that it's harder than you may have thought. The reason for the difficulty factor rising is that more and more people are putting their stamp on the internet. It has become easier than ever to start a website, blog, or any sort of promotional item on the net. Instead of having to know a lot of code, anyone that can navigate through a few menus can have a domain name and site running with relative ease. It's that saturation that is causing a great deal of changes to the blogging world, and more so than ever before, wordpress seo matters.

For those that aren't familiar with the terminology, it is simply an acronym for the terms search engine optimization. This process helps connect websites with search keywords online. When someone goes to search for just about anything, they will get fed a list of websites that are closely related to the topic, and if they find the right option, they will click through and end up finding what they are looking for. This is done through proprietary algorithms that technology companies keep close to the chest. They do not give people insight into what factors play a role, however, that's where seo comes into play.

When you set up a blog using wordpress, you'll have one powerful content management system. Within that system you can add extensions known as plugins, and those can help you gain merit within search platforms. The way it works is through the optimization of pages. These pages can be filled with contextual information, that is 100% unique, but has something extra. That extra is the concentration of keyword phrases which are picked up by search platforms and delivered to users that are looking for specific information on just about any topic you can think of.

The biggest thing that you have to remember about searches that are conducted through large websites, is that they are there to answer questions. If you have a product, service, or blog that can answer that question, you will get the traffic. However, if you're 1 of 1 million websites that does that, you will need to offer a bit more than just the answer. It's there that wordpress seo can save the day. By making sure that pages are optimized up to par with the standards of the online world, you will get a major return on investment, getting serious traffic that is not only great in numbers but hyper targeted.

Getting targeted traffic is the difference between success and failure on the web. Creating the opportunity to get seen on the net today is a matter of working within the parameters of seo properly. If you do not work with the rules, you will have a hard time finding yourself in the index of any major search campaign. Instead of paying thousands of dollars for marketing, you can easily save money and utilize specific optimizations that will help get you ahead of the competition, even if you're a new website.

Hardwood flooring is considered as one of the most durable and fashionable type of flooring that you can acquire for your household. Contractors have numerous ways to help you if you plan to refinish hardwood floors. In this article, you will discover some of the methods that the contractors perform to help you in refinishing your household flooring.

Initially, the contractors have to make sure that they will prepare the necessary materials for refinishing the wood floors. This is important so you can guarantee the safety of the people who will be walking on those floors every day. The refinishing specialists that will do the work for you will make sure that they have all the necessary tools and materials ready for the task. However, this does not mean that you have to completely take the backseat when the team is about to do their job. On the contrary, you may need to provide some assistance by preparing your own set of available tools and materials.

Depending on the specific type of work that will be needed to refinish hardwood floors, the team may hire a sander to join the group. The sander is responsible in making sure that the floor surface concerned is adequately prepared for the finer and relatively more complicated steps. As the term implies, the sander is mainly responsible for stripping off the paint from the surface of the floor. If layers of wood varnish are present on the surface, the sander is also responsible for clearing the surface of those as well.

After the initial sanding process, the contractors will have to work on the scratches that the previous step has left on the surface. For this process, the sanders typically use the tools with medium grain on them. This will ensure that the surface will end up smooth. Most of the sanders end their work at this point. However, if the flooring initially obtained more damage on the surface than expected, the contractors may resort to additional sanding work for the floor.

Most of the refinishing will be spent on the sanding process. On average, this takes around two to three days to finish. The rest of the time will be allotted for the finishing touches. The finishing touches will require the contractors to clear the area of the debris produced by the sanding. At this point, the contractors will apply the wood varnish on the surface and spread it thinly on the entire surface. They will proceed in applying another layer of protective substance on the entire surface. This will ensure that the flooring will maintain its integrity for longer periods of time. The rest of the time will be spent on drying.

These are just some of the procedures that the contractors perform so you can eventually enjoy the results of their work to refinish hardwood floors. Most of these procedures should be performed by professionals to ensure that you can make the flooring last for longer periods. Attempting to duplicate these methods can result in faster deterioration for the hardwood flooring.

Article Title: Considerations in Refinishing Engineered Wood Floors

    *********************** ARTICLE START ***********************

After a considerable period of time, you may be required to have your engineered wood floors at home refinished. This will help you make the flooring last for longer periods of time. It is important that you know when to have a contractor work on refinishing engineered wood floors in your home. In this article, you will discover some of the specific considerations that you have to make before you decide to hire contractors who can do the job for you.

Hardwood flooring is typically made from the boards that will comprise the solid surface for walking. This is installed on a concrete subfloor that is located on the floor joists. During the installation process, the contractors may need to apply wood stain before they apply the sealing for the floor along with the final coating for the surface.

In line with this, you should greatly consider the level of traffic that the hardwood floor will be subjected to so you can determine the type and the amount of coating that the contractors may need to apply on the surface. Also, you have to consider the amount of sunlight that the flooring may be exposed to. More sunlight means a greater need to apply coatings for refinishing engineered wood floors. In the long run, this can mean higher costs for the tools and the materials that the contractors will need to perform the necessary refinishing tasks.

You also have to consider the amount of furniture that will be placed on the flooring. More furniture means greater risk of acquiring scratches and other forms of superficial damage on the surface of the flooring. Having more pieces of movable furniture in the room will require you to have the surface refinished more frequently. In the long run, this will translate into higher costs.

The contractors may be able to perform the necessary refinishing procedures through the application of market prints. Because you do not want to ruin the appearance of the floor, you may ask the contractors to use marker colors that closely match the shade of the flooring. That way, the surface will seem intact as soon as the markers cover the gaps on the surface. If you want to make the effect last longer, you may even ask them to apply protective coatings over the marks. Application of additional layers may initially be expensive, but this can help you save more money for the repairs in the long run.

These are just some of the things that you will have to consider before you hire any contractors for refinishing engineered wood floors in your home. These are relatively simple considerations. However, you are encouraged not to miss out on these things because these can often determine the type of finish that the contractors may come up with in the end. Also, these considerations can have a significant effect on the amount of money that you may be required to spend for all the services that the contractors are required to perform.

When deciding between floorboard materials and wood types, home builders and engineers have to decide between 2 kinds: finished and unfinished wood floorboards. Depending on the specificity of the project, an unfinished wooden floorboard might be needed. There are projects that require a certain angle of sanding. Some projects might require a specific wooden surface texture. There are a lot of variations that contractors can make when it comes to their projects.

    Features Unfinished Wood Floors

Unfinished wood floors are sometimes a better choice for home builders because they are easier to match with already existing flooring. They are much more useful when it comes to partially replacing floor surfaces. This happens a lot to those who need flooring repairs in only some parts of their houses or buildings. Unfinished wood floors are also easier to match with already existing furniture and wooden accents. When following a specific design of a room, it is important for contractors to stick to the requirements. Unfinished wood floors allow them flexibility regarding the floor's design and appearance. This means they can control the level of polish of the floor, and even the color of the floorboards. Some designs require custom color staining because they need colored floorboards that are not available in the market. Overall, unfinished floorboards are particularly useful for custom-designed houses and buildings.

    Professional Care vs. DIY

There is no doubt it is much better for home builders and contractors to hire professional floor service providers to provide unfinished wood floors sanding. The disadvantage that most homeowners have in this regard is the lack of experience and the necessary equipment for the job.

There are DIY materials available everywhere on the internet. There are articles that guide people to sanding unfinished wood floors step by step. Experts have also created videos that instruct people how to sand their own wood floors. But are these enough preparations for the task of unfinished wood floors sanding? The fact that a non-professional has never had any experience with sanding equipment still remains. The quality of sanding that he/she will accomplish may not match that of a professional's.

Experts know exactly what to do with unfinished wood floors. Tell them the specifications that you want done and they can get right on it. Besides delivering the perfect unfinished wood floors sanding services, they can finish the job efficiently. This means that they will take less time to finish and make the least amount of mess. Some flooring service providers even offer a dustless sanding service.

The effort, time and money a home builder will commit to sand unfinished wood floors on his/her own might go to waste if he/she fails to meet the right sanding specifications. Lack of experience is the biggest factor. Professionals are more than happy to sit down and discuss with you the specifications that your home or building needs. Furthermore, they are flexible with their deals and price ranges. This is why it is much more efficient to hire expert floor service providers.

Every house requires flooring refinishing services in order for the quality of its floors to be preserved. The biggest factor that would damage a floor is the amount of moisture that it receives. Too much moisture will leave the wood rotting, while too little moisture will leave the wood dry and weak. In addition to that, wooden floors age and lose their stability. Homeowners will notice bleaching of wood surfaces and loosening of floorboards. These are all normal for every type of wooden surface. And to avoid these, homeowners should consider availing of floor maintenance and flooring refinishing services from the professionals.

    Refinishing Services

Depending on the degree of bleaching that a floor has, a refinishing service provider will estimate the amount of work that has to be done on the floor. After that, they will estimate the costs of refinishing the floor. They are flexible with the services that you will avail from them and they will find ways to arrange deals that will fit your budget.

The price of floor refinishing services might be too high for some homeowners that they decide to do their own refinishing. This is not a wise choice because the quality of floor refinishing might not be as good. The finish might not last long enough. In the end, a homeowner might just waste time, money and effort.

Restoring a wooden floor's shine is one of the most common flooring refinishing services that home owners avail of. Refinishing companies provide the whole package of sanding and resealing. Professionals know how to bring back the color and shine of your wooden floor and make it more stable at the same time.

Some wooden floors might need sanding, replacement and repairs. These tasks are especially hard for homeowners to do them all on their own. They are not equipped with the right tools, nor do they know how to correctly do any of these. Homeowners can rely on DIY materials, but they are not good enough. Caring for your floor requires the services of trained experts. Flooring repairs, for example, is almost impossible without the right equipment. This is why it is wiser for homeowners to leave the floor care to the experts.

One of the basic flooring refinishing services that is availed by hospitals and schools ensures a finish that emits the lowest VOC. This is particularly important to the health of hospital patients and students and it can also be beneficial for everyone in the household. VOC stands for volatile organic compounds. Some flooring finishes omit a lot of VOC that can affect any person's health. This is why some flooring service providers offer "Green Finishes" options to their clients. Another feature that Green Finishes have is the dustless feature. Sanding dust is one of the compounds that can cause cancer, according to the EPA. The benefits of the Green Finish are hard to achieve if a homeowner is simply following DIY reading materials or videos. It is better to leave the task of preserving your floor's quality to professionals.

    *********************** ARTICLE START ***********************

If you have gas appliances in your home, such as boilers, cookers and gas fires, it is important that you have these appliances serviced regularly. In the UK it is a legal requirement that Landlords renting out property have an annual check of gas appliances undertaken by a registered Gas Safe plumber. Where I work as a gas safe plumber, in Northampton, the bulk of gas appliance servicing is at homes that are tenanted. There is no requirement for people living in their own homes to take such precautions. However, given the serious risks of Carbon Monoxide poisoning it is unwise to neglect your home appliances.

This article will explain to you about Carbon Monoxide. I am sure you will be aware that Carbon Monoxide can be lethal to human health if left to build up to dangerous levels within your home. Every home should fit a Carbon Monoxide detector. These can be purchased cheaply from many high street stores.

Why it is important to have your appliances serviced by a Gas Safe plumber.

Most people have heard of carbon monoxide but not many people realise how it is produced. Carbon Monoxide is formed when natural gas (the gas that is piped into your home by your supplier) is not completely burnt.

This usually happens in one of two ways - either because of a lack of available oxygen to the flame (in the gas boiler, cooker or fire) or when there is flame impingement. The latter causes the flame to burn at an incorrect temperature. When this happens it is known as "Incomplete Combustion".

For Natural Gas to be burnt correctly, it has to be mixed with a specific amount of oxygen. This is usually 2 volumes of oxygen to every 1 volume of Gas. For open flued appliances (eg fires, cookers, hobs and open flued central heating boilers), the oxygen used in the combustion process is normally taken from within the room that the gas appliance is situated. This is why it is important that you have the correct air vents. In the case of room sealed appliances (like most modern boilers), the oxygen is taken from outside the property by the use of a balanced flue system.

When gas is burnt, it isn't actually used up. Rather, it is simply converted into another form. When burnt correctly it is converted from Natural Gas plus Oxygen into Carbon Dioxide and Water Vapour, which are both non-toxic products.

The hazardous and toxic Carbon Monoxide is formed when there is insufficient oxygen or the flame temperature falls below its correct ignition temperature. These problems can occure if oxygen levels fall because of blocked air vents or incorrectly sized air vents, blocked or poorly fitted flue pipes, a blocked or poorly designed chimney, blocked lint arrester (a pre-burner gauze filter), blocked burner ports caused by dirt or soot, or incorrect gas pressures.

Having your gas appliances serviced regularly will identify and correct these faults. Servicing will keep your appliances running efficiently and, most importantly, it will keep your home and family safe.

    Industry Operations Type Detail

We need a strong and detailed description of your business industry and operations. Certain insurance carriers focus on specific industries. A detailed business operations description may help us to steer you in the proper place for a competitive proposal. The Workers' Compensation carrier may require more detailed information about your industry and specifics of your exact job duties and functions in a higher or medium risk case to try to gain a competitive edge vs. another company who may not be analyzing as closely or operating more conservatively. Other insurers may flat out decline to propose an industry type period.

    Renewal Date

It is best if you can check the renewal date of your existing coverage prior to requesting quote information. If you can provide us with a copy of your existing policy or renewal quote from the current carrier the competing new insurance carrier can then verify with absolute certainty the end date of your coverage and the start date of the new proposed policy. It can range from difficult to impossible to change coverage mid-plan year. Plan ahead and re-quote your coverage 90 days prior to renewal.

    Claims History

If you've had any claims history in the last 4 or 5 years it can affect your rates and potentially the insurability of your business with a private Workers' Compensation carrier. Most companies will require reports of the claims history to place the coverage. This can be even more crucial information in 2013 and in years moving forward, because the pricing of Workers' Compensation insurance is expected to go up. The reason premiums costs are expected to increase is several fold. First, the overall costs of medical care have increased historically around 10% per year for the last decade. Second, the competing Workers' Compensation carriers in California may be pricing the current plans to low to gain market share which will result in dramatic increases in premium pricing if accurate. Loss ratios of some of the major players show it to be accurate. Therefore, your claims history becomes even more important as the underwriting department may put you through a much more thorough level of examination to ensure it is taking on the lowest possible risk at the best price. Employers with clean injury history will be rewarded.

    Payroll Reports

If you are utilizing a payroll system or service and the system or company is able to provide you will payroll run reports per job classification on a monthly, quarterly, or pay cycle basis this can make your life simpler when completing the universal quote application form, know as ACORD. This is because your payroll remuneration needs to be split by the job duties or classification of employees.

When submitting a quote request for underwriting on your Workers' Compensation policy you can provide enough details. The more specific you can be, the more specific the pricing will be. Remember, the main areas of focus are business description, renewal date of existing policy, claims history, and payroll reports.

The information on California health reform is gaining momentum and today was the first of two very important pieces of information to be released. We received a notification of which carriers will participate in the Health Exchange in California starting Jan 1st, 2014. There were few surprises but the list of carriers is smaller than we expected. Let's look at what we can expect.

Four major California carriers plus 9 Regional Players

The big four that will participate in the Individual and Family market (Group health market called SHOP will be announced next month) will be Anthem Blue Cross of California, Blue Shield of California, Kaiser, and Health Net of California. These carriers probably make up a good 90% of the individual and family market anyway but there are some notable exclusions. Aetna, Cigna, and United Health have announced that they will not participate in the IFP (Individual and Family plans) for the year 2014. They publicly stated that they will wait to see how the market settles out over the initial year and then re-evaluate. There were also smaller regional California carriers which can find on the full State announcement here.

    Different Plan Types by Area

There will be 19 different geographic areas in California and more interestingly, the carriers are offering different network types (PPO, HMO, and EPO) by area. In some cases a carrier may offer a PPO in one region but offer an EPO in another region of the State. A quick refresher on the three. HMO's provide richer benefits but access to providers is more regulated (primary care physician, referrals, etc). The PPO offers more flexibility in terms of providers available and access to those providers but requires more cost sharing on behalf of the member. The EPO (or Exclusive Provider Organization) generally uses the PPO network but does not provide benefits outside the network in non-emergency situations.

The California health exchange also provided initial plan pricing which was the big deal. These rates may fluctuate as the State still needs to approve them but we have both average prices and the specific rates by area for a 40 year old. The rates confirm what we expected. We took an example of a person who was on a grandfathered $4000 deductible plan which is very comparable to the Bronze. The family rate for two 42 year olds (plus 2 kids) is about $850 ($288 for two 40 year old adults each plus we're estimating about $150 for each child). They're current rate is $550 or a $300/difference. $300 is a pretty big jump from $550. Granted, the Grandfathered plans are better priced than some of the currently available plans (depending on which one you have...the old Share plans are pretty high) but the real important piece is whether you can apply a health subsidy to this amount.

Health Subsidy calculation shown in rate grid

If the above family makes under 400% of the Federal Poverty Level, that roughly $850 premium will come down significantly depending on what percentage of the the FPL, the family makes. Let's say that between 250-400% of the FPL (qualifies for subsidy) will probably break even. They will pay about the same as they did before Health Reform. If the famly makes between 138-250% of the FPL, that family will probably pay less than they before. If they make below 138% of the FPL, they will be eligible for free Medi-Cal. Over 400%? They'll pay the full $850 and that's going to be tricky. All of a sudden, the 4 times FPL becomes very very important!

A Look At The New Individual Family Health Insurance Rates

This is what we've all been waiting for...what will the new rates look like under health reform? We don't have the full rate schedules yet but we did get average rates by area and an example rate by area for a 40 year old (gender will not affect pricing) for the new Health Exchange plans. There's been a lot of media coverage about whether these rates are high or not (and why or why not). Let's take a quick look until the full rates come out.

    Comparing Apples and Apples

This is going to be tricky. We currently have dozens of health plans available on the market with very different benefits and rates. The new landscape will have 4 plan levels (Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum) plus one catastrophic plan for adults under age 30. How do we "map" over the current plans to the new ones to make an accurate comparison? Our best bet addresses two different issues. First, most people are on higher deductible health plans in the California health market. The reason is obvious...health insurance is expensive and has essentially priced-out the richer plans on the market. Even the richest plans have a $1000 deductible which is quite different from the old no-deductible plans of 5-7 years ago. The average deductible choice is between $3K and $5K annually so that would be the first place to compare. Luckfully, the Bronze health plan fits the bill here with a $3500 deductible. This matches the two most popular plans on the market, the Health Net Advantage $3500 plan and the Clear Protection $3300 (also the Smart Sense $3500 or Shield Wise $3500 plan towards the higher end of this spectrum). The fact that there's a pretty good match (Bronze plan) and this happens to match very popular plans on the market is a good place to start. Let's begin.

    Grandfathering and Subsidies

Before we dive in, we need to level the playing field. Many people have Grandfathered health plans (effective prior to 3/23/2010 and not changed since). These plans are not subject to many of the mandates and therefore are not as expensive. For this reason, we recommend anyone on a Grandfathered plan to keep it at least till we see what the new rates are exactly. Secondly, some people will qualify for health subsidies if they make under 400% of the Federal Poverty Level. This is potentially a great deal of money and if you qualify for a subsidy, it will be hard to justify anything but the Exchange Silver plan (you will be able to quote here Oct 1st, 2013). So, now that we addressed those two issues, let's look at price comparisons for three distinct groups.

Three different health insurance situations in California

    1. Let's take the example of a 40 year old (Los Angeles) on a popular Clear Protection $3300 high deductible grandfathered plan. The current tier 1 rate is $105. The lowest rate from one of the major 4 carriers in the Exchange for the Bronze plan will be $210. This person will see premiums roughly double (and therefore should not move unless offered considerable subsidies).

    2. People with current plan, non-grandfathered who qualify for a health subsidy. In this case, the current $3300 Clear Protection plan is $172 monthly (big jump for same plan from Grandfathered option). The Silver Exchange plan will be $252 but subsidies will bring that down significantly. This person will see rates reduced significantly due to subsidies depending on income level.

    3. People with current plan, non-grandfathered who do not qualify for a subsidy. Again, Clear Protection plan is $172 versus Bronze plan at $210. Increase of 22%.

As you can see, any news outlet that claims costs are higher or lower do so by leaving out a lot of information. Yes, you can take an average but any given person will have significantly different experience from the average due to health subsidies and grandfathered status. You will be able to quote all options starting October 1st from our Health Exchange Quote page. We hope to have the new rates with full detail in the next 30 days.

    St. John's Wood

This has existed since 1814 and is still the staple of upcoming player's to get their inspiration from. The fans truly help give you the best experience with cricket. Harold Pinter has called this place "the greatest room in the world". You can see the Long Room which houses a lot of artifacts and other artwork that you will not want to miss. It doubles as a museum and you can see different bats, photography, uniforms, and even the Ashes urn. You will want to make sure you can take pictures if you want to as well. Some venues like this might be inviting to photography. You can check out their website for more information on all of this if you want. It changes from time to time as renovations are conducted as well as other updates. Make sure you always are kept up to date.

    Olympic Games

In London 2012, the Olympic Games held the Archery competition here at this field. It was truly something to see if you liked Archery. That was something that you might have missed here, but you can still check out some photos and other things that showcased the events held here. It was something to remember a long time if the Olympic Games were held in your country.

    Getting To The Stadium

A lot of people will be making their visit during the day. When you know how to get to the place without confusion, it will make sure you arrive on time and safely. You will find the stadium take it's home near the centre of London. It is only a mile and half from Marble Arch. You can easily get to it by road, tube, or even the bus. The closest tube station available is St. John's Wood. If you are a Beatles fan and are in the area of St. John's Wood, you can even check out Abbey Road Studios. You can probably bring along your camera and get some awesome shots of where the Beatles used to record some of their songs. It is truly a sight to see, even if you are not a huge Beatles fan. A lot of people are though so you will have a blast checking out this spot in middle of London on any given day.

    Baseball

If you do not know what cricket is, it is a lot like baseball in certain ways. When you first see the park, you will think you have arrived at a professional baseball stadium. The grass is so well kept and pretty that it truly makes for a great picture. The uniforms also look a lot like a baseball uniform as well. If you like baseball, you should check out the cricket that is played here. Your children will also appreciate the London specific sport for a long time. You can find great seats that have great commentary to listen to while you follow the game.

In conclusion, cricket is a wonderful sport that has been a crowd pleaser for a long time in London. If you have never seen a game being played before, you will want to check it out for sure. Nothing is better than going to Lord's on a clear and sunny day.

    The Bodyguard

If you are a big Whitney Houston fan, do not miss out on this wonderful play. It is very well done and although it might not live up to Whitney's standards, it surely is a sight to see. Seeing your favorite movie in a musical is one of the best ways to see it again with more character. This one will bring you into a time where cell phones and computers were not flooding the world and will make you appreciate the time we had without them. They are a blessing and a curse in some ways and this play will make you feel like you are transferred back in time. The costumes worn by the vocalists are fantastic as well. To truly make your favorite movie come to life and see it again for the first time, do not miss out on this play.

    Jersey Boys

If you like your musicals with a lot of acting in between segments, you will want to check this one out. Although a musical should have all singing, this one does a fantastic job at balancing them out so the singing parts have more style and emphasis to you as a viewer. It is a fast moving show and will be a great one if you do not like to wait a lot in between different parts. This show is a highly reviewed and wonderful masterpiece about how a low class music group hit the big times, and they didn't know where to land. It is a West End sort of play and you get to have a dinner and a show if you want. You can also make group packages to check it out as well.

    Les Miserables

If you enjoyed the recent movie about this play, you will want to check it out live. The costumes are fantastic as well is the acting and singing. It has been running here quite a long time now because of it's success and popularity. You will feel the pain and hope that comes through each of these characters to really grasp the play. It keeps on improving as time goes by as well, so you will be sure to have a great time.

    Billy Elliot The Musical

If you want to see the highest rated musical possible, check out this one. Kaine Ward, who plays Billy, is a wonderful actor and singer that is truly ahead of his time. Six years later, the play is still going strong and is a staple for good plays in the London area.

If you do not like the Zoo, you are really missing out. The London Zoo has something for everyone, even if you are not that interested in animals. Your children will be though, so make sure you check out what the Zoo offers you and your family.

    The Gorilla Kingdom

Gorillas are a great species that really teach us a lot about ourselves. They have roamed the earth for quite a while now. The same goes for the Zoo, which opened in 1847 for the general public. It has 36 acres total that will be sure to keep you busy all day long. The Gorilla Kingdom is only one of the many spots and animals that you can see here. This habitat features some awesome western lowland gorillas though. You can even get very close to them to almost touch them. Do not worry though, you are safe in the hands of the staff working there.

    Saving The Animals

Every ticket you purchase for the Zoo will go towards the conservation project that will keep these animals alive and safe. There are a lot of endangered or near-endangered species that you will be able to check out while you are here visiting the Zoo. Over 760 animals in fact total.

    Tiger Territory

This habitat is only a month old and it was opened on March 22, 2013. It was created to keep the Tigers safe in an Indonesian-styled habitat. You will get to check out Jae Jae and Melati if you get the chance to see them. They are a set of Sumatran tigers that will be sure to take your hearts. Tigers are wonderful creatures that can be trained with enough patience. Just like a cat or dog can be trained, so can tigers. These Sumatran tigers are really a sight to see if you have never seen their kind before. Their colors are breathtaking. They have the richest colors out of any tiger that you will ever see. Their manes are very well kept and will be something that will make an excellent picture experience.

    Penguins

If you enjoy penguins, you will want to make sure you do not miss the habitat created in 2011 for them. You can even check out their feeding time. It features Humboldt penguins as well as Macaroni penguins. Who doesn't like penguins. Especially when they are in a habitat that so closely resembles their homeland. You will be acting like a penguin for the rest of the day once you see these magnificent creatures. They truly are the model for the Antarctic area. They do enjoy their fish as well, which might be something you can definitely appreciate if you like fish yourself. It keeps them sliding and waddling strongly.

    Eateries

If you need to take a break from all of the excitement in the Zoo, make sure you check out the different restaurants and other picnic areas around the attraction. Your children can even get involved with some crafts and other educational activities if they have an endless supply of energy. You will get to see how the conservationists do their job as well. This is something you do not want to miss while you are here.

In conclusion, the Zoo has something great to offer your entire family. Make sure you check out the new exhibits. Keep the old ones on your list as well.

When it comes to getting fast money, you sometimes have to deal with a lot of unwarranted issues. For instance, the first route that you might venture forward with is a cash advance through a credit card. That can seem like a good idea, until you realize that there are fees attached and sometimes delays in getting the money into your account. It's this issue that has many looking for alternatives routes when they need money fast. You could go to a bank, but you'll have to deal with their application process and most often will not get approved for a short term or even long term lending option. A good way to get money today is to look into payday loans, as they come with a variety of benefits.

The first major benefit that you'll denote from getting this option is simple, you will get money when you need it. The bar is set a lot lower in terms of financing through this option as it is for people that are dealing with a financial crisis and need money faster than the traditional methods. Of course you'll have to fill out forms and still apply, however they are far more lenient with approvals than any other financial option you'll find. There's no need for collateral, just an agreement to the terms and length of the policy.

Perhaps the biggest benefit that you'll find with this option ins that you can have flexible options in terms of paying it back. You will still have to deal with interest rates, but you will be able to make payments that work for you within he allotted time frame. As long as you have a job and a payday is coming, you can get money and pay it back within a certain amount of time. Do not stress about this, it's flexible for a reason and is made for those that need money today, without having to jump through the traditional hoops that you would have to normally deal with.

Another great benefit in regards to payday loans is that they provide help when you need most. You'll find that approval can be as little as a few minutes, and within 24 hours time, you can have money wired into your bank account. This is a far cry from other options that could get delayed in the transport. Instead of dealing with the banks, credit cards, or asking friends for money, try this out and see why so many are looking at this option for their financial future.

The above benefits are just some of the things that might help you in the decision to get a loan today. Do not allow yourself to get worked up when you are in a crisis, as there are ways to get financed for just about anything that life can throw at you. Don't worry, applying is simple, and approvals are often times faster and easier than any other methodology that you could choose. Don't neglect to look into this, when you need cash fast.

When you need to get something paid soon and your paycheck isn't coming until later in the month, you could find yourself in a hard situation. Most bill collectors and companies aren't going to allow you to wait for the money to arrive, they will want payment when they decide or else you could face fees and more. Instead of fighting the deadlines, you could easily find financial options by looking into fast payday loans. These specialized financial options allow you to get a set amount of money for a low cost. You don't have to deal with a lot of the hurdles that you would expect from other institutions and in many cases, within 24 hours you can have your money.

Some people are skeptical about whether or not these are legitimate and can help with the financial outlook that they have. If you are worried about whether or not you can afford this, don't worry, you'll be able to get all the information that you need by looking into the fine print. You'll find that the terms, interest rates and so much more will be listed there. Among the fine print you will see that there are flexible terms in regards to paying back the money. Paying it all back within the allotted time frame is an important thing to consider, and something that should not be taken lightly at all.

Paying the money back can seem like an arduous task, but often times the interest rates and payments are created so that you don't have to deal with the complications that can come from paying a credit card back, meaning that you can pay it off earlier and avoid some of the issues or you can delay payments, get forgiveness or deal with a variety of other options to help you use this responsibly. For those that aren't really sure whether or not this is a good option, just remember, you will receive your money fast, and without question, assuming you will pay it back on time.

Those that are on the fence should consider the alternatives before going this route. The reason this is stated is because it will show you just how hard it can be to get a good loan. You could go with a bank, and fill out their forms and the answer could take weeks. You could try to get a credit card and sustain a cash advance but that is also limited in scope, which can be problematic as well. No other financial option promises you the versatility and speed of fast payday loans. As long as you have money coming, a bank account and proof of income, you're going to be able to take advantage of this amazing opportunity.

It should be stated that you should be responsible when looking into this type of lending. There is interest to be paid and you will need to focus on the payment process, but overall, it is a good option to get into if you're in dire need. Life can throw a lot of curves at you, navigating them sometimes requires a little help, and that's where this solution comes in handy.

When it comes to getting money fast, you'll be limited when it comes to options. You'll find that most lenders today make you jump through hoops when you go to apply in person. This especially true for banks and other brick and mortar solutions which can have you filling out forms in triplicate and after all the amount of time you put in, could still deny you. Instead of dealing with the traditional routes, it's important to look into something better that will help you navigate through the difficulties that life can throw at you. That solution is online payday loans, as they are targeted for people that need to them when others won't lend. Consider the following 3 things to remember when you start to navigate into financial difficulties.

Paying it Back – The number one thing that you need to remember above all else is that you have to pay this back. Some people take the fast cash and try to run, but it can catch up to you and the interest rate is not good. There are penalties and interest rates that should be looked at carefully as you could end up over your head if you're not careful. This is not stated to discourage you, it's mainly here to make sure that you understand the severity of the situation if you do not pay it back. There are flexible payment structures that will help you with this so don't panic if you get into another financial pickle.

Interest Rates – As aforementioned, you'll have to deal with high interest rates, but that's not a bad thing. All credit companies and lenders will charge you interest, and it gets higher and higher if you delay the payments. There are no penalties for paying this type of loan offer early and you can take advantage of big savings if you pay it early, so keep that in mind. Do not panic if you see high rates, they are there to ensure repayment in a timely manner.

Proof of Income – Before you run through any application, make sure that you take time to gather your proof of income, driver's license, and any other documents that you might need. You'll need to fill out a form with all pertinent information swiftly so that your loan can get approved fast. Without the proper identification, you will not be able to move forward with this option, so make sure that you have these things handy, just in case you have to type them into one of the fields.

The above things to remember are just some of the basic things that you'll want to keep in mind when you're looking into online payday loan options. Make sure that you do not employ haste when dealing with this type of financial opportunity. Take your time, read the fine print and get ready to receive the loan and utilize it to help you out in any given emergency situation. In time you will be able to overcome any of life's stresses, especially with the help of this fast cash solution.
