Divination is also referred to as fortune telling. Divination uses aspects of the supernatural to predict the future or give insight. There are many different forms of divination. Divination usually involves a ritual or other formal routine. This could involve the lighting of candles, chanting of incantations or burning of incense. Divination is a way to connect with the other side, which could be those who have passed away, spirits or holy beings.

Divination is a highly criticized practice. There are many people who believe that divination cannot be proven as real. They believe that since divination usually involves one person connecting with the other side that the person is simply scamming or faking the connection. Many skeptics believe that divination is merely tapping into the sub-conscious mind and not communicating with the other side at all. Still others believe that there is no connection at all and the person doing the divination is just saying whatever they believe people want to hear. Despite numerous attempts to prove critics wrong, there is still skeptics out there who will never believe in the supernatural abilities of those who practice divination.

Some of the more popular and best known forms of divination include the following:

Astrology- Using the positions of the planets, sun and moon in correspondence with time, date, location and the Zodiac to give insight into one's life and future.

Tarot- The use of a 78 card deck that is laid out into spreads or patterns then read to look into one's situation.

Palmistry- Reading the lines on ones hand to interpret their life path.

Rune Casting- The use of runes that are cast upon the ground or a cloth to tell a persons situation.

Channeling- Connecting with the other side, spirits, and delivering their messages.

Psychic/Intuition- Connecting with a spirit or other celestial being to deliver messages, can be used with other forms of divination.

Divination may be something that a person is born able to do. For others it is something to be learned. It is widely thought that every person has the ability to tap into the supernatural. It just takes time for some to learn how to do it.

Divination has been used for centuries. It is often looked at as evil or as something that is only done by those who do not believe in God. This is not true. Many religious activities often include divination style practices. Anything that brings a connection between a person and a celestial being, be it God, a Saint, an angel, is a form of divination.

Most divination is done in a proper setting. The area used for divination is only used for that purpose. Nothing else is done in that area. Many times there are alters or other things to honor the spirits that may be present. It is done in a manner that shows respect to those beings that are coming to help or send messages. For people that practice divination it is a very serious ritual.

Divination is something that requires great patience and dedication. It may take a person a long time in order to connect to a spirit and when they do it can tae even longer to understand the messages they may be sending. It is a process that should be done with the knowledge of how to do it properly. Many times people expect to see amazing things, like lights flickering, the person performing the divination to fall into a trance or something else spectacular. This is usually not how it happens, though. It is usually a rather peaceful process that happens almost naturally.

Astrology is based upon the celestial bodies and their positions at any given time. Astrology is a science, but it is also a divination tool. Astrology involves knowledge about the astrological plain and good mathematic skills. An astrologer can build a chart based upon any specific time and date in history. They then use this chart to explain to a person the answers to questions or details about their life.

Commonly when a person goes to an astrologer they will get a chart done that is called a birth chart. A birth chart is made using the persons exact time, date and location of their birth. The exact locations of the planets, sun and moon are charted based upon this information. The location of the planets, sun and moon then correspond to different meanings based upon their location.

Everyday use of astrology is shown in horoscopes which re loosely based upon the location of planets for a certain day or time period and how they relate to the signs of the Zodiac, which also play an important role in astrology. It is also common for people to refer to the location of planets to explain bad weather or other occurrences that seem more prevalent, for example the phrase 'Mercury is in retrograde' is used to explain why people seem to be a different mood than usual.

The role of the Zodiac in astrology is rather important. It is not only the location of the planets, sun and moon that is important when interrupting a report, but also what Zodiac sign a planet, the sun or the moon falls in at that time. Each of the twelve signs of the Zodiac carry their own traits, as do each of the planets, the sun and the moon. In astrology the effect of each planet, the sun and the moon changes depending what Zodiac sign it is in.

Astrology can be a difficult art to master. It requires plenty of knowledge and astrologers usually have many books and maps on hand in order to be able to pinpoint locations and such. They learn how to do charts for any time, date and location given. There are almost endless possibilities. An astrologer has to understand the basic layout of the planets, how they move and their location in relation to the earth and the Zodiac. It can take many years for an astrologer to master the skills needed to give an accurate astrological reading.

Astrology is based upon the thought that the way the planets, the sun and the moon are located within the heavens effect people in different locations differently. The natal astrology chart tells what a persons life will be like based upon their birth details. Astrology is a great tool to learn more about yourself. It can also be used by psychic readers to gain more insight into why something may be happening to a person.

When getting an astrology chart or reading it is important for a person to make sure their astrologer knows what they are doing. They should be able to answer any questions the person may have. They should have experience and be able to provide samples of their work and even references. An astrology chart or reading can be very expensive and before spending that amount of money a person needs to be sure they are dealing with a reputable astrologer.

Astrology can be a wonderful way get insight into a persons life. It combines the psychic world with the scientific world. Many people prefer astrology over other forms of divination just because of the complex and scientific nature.

A psychic is an umbrella term used to describe a person with paranormal abilities. Psychic powers have been around since ancient times and have been known to appear in both Egyptian and Viking societies. Psychics can be clairvoyants, palm readers or mediums. Psychics can provide advice on all aspects of a person's life and let them know information about their life's purpose. The guidance that a psychic provides to the client has the ability to change and improve their life if the person chooses to follow their advice.

It is widely believed that psychics gain their power from either a spiritual gift or their body's ability to use their brain more effectively. It is estimated that human beings use only about ten percent of their brain. It is a common theory that psychics have the ability to tap into the other ninety percent of the brain's power and this is the source of their gifts.

There are several natural gifts that psychics can use to help their clients. Some psychics have the ability to communicate with other spiritual realms that we do not have access to. These types of psychics are usually called mediums and they can give you messages from departed loved one. There are people with the ability to receive messages in their minds. A clairsentient feels a message, a clairvoyant sees a special message and a clairaudient hears a message. There are also psychics that are great animal communicators. They can telepathically connect with animals and allow us to know what they are feeling.

Psychics can use several tools to enhance their abilities. Astrology is used to display how the patterns of the planets relate to the events in our lives. An astrology reading is used to let the client know what to expect in their life. Numerology works in a similar way. A person's date of birth is used to indicate the life's path.

Tarot cards are used to answer a client's specific question or give an overview of their current situation. There are two types of cards in a tarot deck: the major and minor arcane. Psychics will most likely focus on the major cards during the reading since they reveal the major aspects of a person's life.

Additional tools include crystals, runes, and pendulums. Psychics know how to use these powerful items to get the answers that you want to know about your life. A psychic can also use their gifts to not only tell about your future, but also make predictions about the upcoming events in the world.

Psychics have amazing powers, but there are certain things that you should not expect from a psychic. A psychic can not predict lottery numbers, horse race winners, or provide you with gambling tips. A psychic that tells you that they can do this is merely a scam artist that wishes to take your money. Also, avoid psychics that ask for an absorbent amount of money without providing any proof of their skills. However, do not expect a psychic to be accurate all of the time. Everybody makes mistakes and a psychic is no different.

When you visit or contact a psychic, they will let you know their specialties and will usually have several services to offer you. They can give you a general reading or you can simply ask the questions that you wish to be answered about your life. You will be amazed at the psychic's intuition and how many details that they can give you about your current situation. It is important to remember that psychics can guide you in the right direction, but it is up to you to follow their guidance.

When it comes to psychics, there is a whole range of tools that can be used. It is worth noting that these tools can be used by anyone, whether or not they have a psychic gift, and so you must be aware of the tools that are being used and whether or not the person using them has the gift. Although these tools can be used by anyone they only produce meaning and real messages to those with psychic gifts.

    Tarot Cards

There are many different decks of Tarot Cards that might be used during a reading. There are many different cards in general that a psychic can use to do a reading or to clarify things that have already been read. These are also Rune Cards, Medicine Cards, Karma Cards, or the Phoenix Deck. A talented and gifted psychic can also use a regular deck of playing cards to do a reading. The cards that are used will have symbols that are drawings, paintings, numbers or even words, and these will be interpreted based on a number of different things, including the symbols, the order they appear, and the order the cards are laid out.

    Astrology

In Astrology, a psychic will look at the way that the planets and stars are aligned in the different constellations and use these alignments to do a reading for you based upon certain things in your life, namely the astrology during the month, date and even the time at which you were born. These readings can predict the different characteristics you will have as well as the tendencies you will have, and also can predict events that will happen to you.

    Numerology

Another tool that the psychic has is that of the reading of numbers. Different letters and numbers will align in different ways to give the psychic an idea of the different kinds of readings he or she can provide you with. Most of the time, the numbers that are used are from the person's name and birthday. Using these numbers, different events can be predicted.

    Runes

Runes are relics from ancient times. There are a few types of Runes that are used, which are mainly Nordic and Celtic. Runes are stones or squares that are inscribed with old symbols, and the psychic will use them to do your reading.

    I Ching

I Ching is an ancient oracle from China that is used by having three coins thrown six times. This forms what is called a hexagram, which is made up of lines that are solid and broken. There is a meaning that is formed from the hexagram, and then the psychic will look up the meaning in a reference book, and provide a personal message to the client.

    Reading Of Palms

Reading of palms, called palmistry, is the specialized skill of reading the lines in a person's hand. A psychic that knows what the lines symbolize and mean can make predictions about our present and future, as well as tell us about our past.

    Scrying

The word Scrying means "to reveal". This is a very ancient art of being a clairvoyant, or clear seeing. The psychic will concentrate on a very reflective surface until they see visions in it. This can be a crystal ball, water in a bowl, or a mirror.

    Dowsing

The last tool of the psychics is called Dowsing. This is using a forked stick, a pendulum, or even a metal rod to point towards yes or no answers.

Tarot cards, originally, were used like normal cards to play games. In later part of the 16th century it was realized that they could be associated with occult. They became a method of foretelling events in a person's life. There are images on the cards that are depicted in complex and interesting ways that imply the philosophies of our daily lives.

Such readings can really help intrigued client. They give them an insight as to what is happening and what will be happening in your life. The card readers associate what they see in the cards to the things they perceive in the energy field of the clients and thereby provide them spiritual guidance.

Reading the future through tarot cards is an ability that you can cultivate in yourself too. It is effective to develop your own intuitive and psychic insights and prowess. The tarot deck or the set of cards are available with a booklet that will guide you to foster the rare ability in you.

There are 78 cards in a tarot deck. They are divided into the Major Arcana (22 cards) and the Minor Arcana (4 suits of 14 cards each). The Major Arcana has higher significance than Minor Arcana in a reading. The style of the images on the cards, previously, was mostly based on the writings of seers who selected pictures to denote various meanings. The modern decks follow initial concepts most of the time with a little diversification here and there. Some times they are created just to please the aesthetic senses of the buyer.

If you have bought the cards or received it as a gift, keep it in a safe place to preserve their sacredness. You can wrap them up in while silk cloth as the color is associated with purity. However, it is only a suggestion; you can apply your own method, but remember preserving them neatly.

To master the art of fortune telling through tarot cards, you should always begin with some good books. This will help you acquire new and varied perspectives about cards and in turn will enable you to formulate your own insight.

Finally be confident about your insights. Do not hesitate, for what you are saying may be correct or wrong. Always remember it is not about being right or wrong. Tarot reading is about catering information that is helpful and is from the depth of one's heart. Human behaviour follows a pattern and sequence. Life experience teaches you the sequence that is expected to happen next. So when you apply the scene the card represents to the client's question, you realize the pattern that is developing and predict the future event correctly.

Sometimes it may happen so that your clients may not like the spiritual guidance you offer him as a result of the reading. Don't be frustrated. As you cannot help it. You are only a messenger between the divine and the client. However, Psychic information through these cards can really give one a lot of insight about his or herself.

    Divination

Divination is a term that serves as a sweeping generalization for a number of different psychic disciplines. It is generally attributed to the psychic arts that involve looking into the future. One common misperception of many of these arts is that notion that those practicing them can predict the future. While much television, books and movies may lead us to believe this is true, most practitioners of divination use their skills to help guide instead of predict. By digging into their respective arts, the medium can provide snapshots of what might occur or warning about specific paths. While this isn't quite as glamorous as Hollywood would like to believe, many people have found a life long source of encouragement and advice from the arts of divination.

One of the oldest, and probably most popular, forms of divination is astrology. This ancient art of divination is the study of the stars, planets and celestial beings. Astrologers have the ability to observe the systematic patterns of how these beings move through the sky and the effect that these movements have on those born under specific signs. The key to understanding how the celestial movements affect you is your birth sign. The twelve signs of the zodiac define who you are and how the placement of the stars affects everything from your mood, to your temperament, to your good fortune.

Another means of divination is the reading of Runes. There are several variations of runes, but it essentially refers the interpretation of an ancient Germanic alphabet. Each character and sound in the alphabet carries a specific spiritual meaning. By developing a formula based upon your letters, readers can begin to glean hints about certain specific questions. This Norse tradition is a classic means of divination that many find to be useful in interpreting some of the confounding decisions that are presented to us in this life.

The reading of Tarot cards is a very popular method of divination in Western Culture. It has reached a level of popularity that hasn't been seen by very many, if any, other forms of divination. This pop culture phenomenon is best known for its character cards, which are turned over in front of the one seeking guidance. Each character carries a unique and special meaning. While some are very specific, others require interpretation in order to be applied to real life. It is for this reason that it is recommended that you have your cards read by a real psychic and not at a slumber party by someone who may not know just what they are looking at.

Palm reading is another form of divination that is fairly common in Western pop culture. Often associated with guidance about love and romance, palm reading is based upon the natural folds and lines in the palm of a person's hand. The medium will have studied what the length of different lines means. The way that they intersect is also an important feature to pay attention too. Like any other form of divination, it is important to remember that these readings are to be used as a guide and not necessarily as gospel truth. You always have a choice; the reading may just help give you an idea of which way to go.

Numerology is another form of divination. Though not as popular as some of the others, it is one that appeals to those who prefer a little more order and logic to light their way. Numerology is based upon a number that is wholly determined by you. A combination of your name and your birthday is used to create a unique number that defines who you are. This number then, is placed in conjunction with a numerology chart to help you understand events and to help guide you in the decisions that you make on a day to day basis.

In the today's world, we hear a lot about the health of certain vital organs, specifically the colon, heart, and kidneys. An equally vital component of the body that has not received such vivid media and medical attention, but possibly should, is the spine. As the hub of the skeletal system in the upper body, our spine is responsible for much more than we tend to give it credit. It supports basically our entire upper body and bears significant weight in doing so. Unfortunately, complications within the spine are often overlooked and can pose severe risks. Thus, it is important to educate yourself about the spine and the potential abnormalities that can occur as you age.

The Natural Degeneration of the Spine over Time

Unfortunately, the aging process involves the natural degeneration of the body. It is true that our ears and nose never stop growing, but other parts of the body regress, including the spine. The gel-like discs that separate vertebra (bones) in the spine begin to lose their ability to retain water content and can flatten out, decreasing mobility in the upper body. Also, over time, the spinal cord may become constricted, the spinal canal may thin, and small growths of excess bone may form. All of these are natural processes, but some can have adverse effects on the spine as a whole, and can cause pain and a variety of other symptoms to be felt.

Keeping Your Spine As Healthy as Possible

The spine will naturally degenerate over time, but that is certainly no reason for you to throw caution to the wind and completely disregard the health of your neck and back. Instead, you should strive to keep your spine as healthy as possible. This means eating right, managing your weight, and staying mobile and flexible. A strong back can reduce some of the burden of weight that the spine must bear, and eating healthy ensures that vital nutrients and minerals are being consumed to keep the spine in tip-top condition. Also, it is commonly advised by physicians to avoid tobacco products and minimize alcohol consumption to maintain a healthy spine.

    Encountering Spinal Abnormalities

At one point or another in life, you may experience a spinal abnormality. These abnormalities can range from mild and harmless to other conditions that are more serious. While it is not uncommon to face a spinal abnormality, it is not something to overlook or take lightly. If you are experiencing pain, stiffness, numbness, tingling, or any similar symptom that doesn't seem to subside, you should pay a visit to your primary care physician, or PCP, for a diagnosis. You may find that it is a condition that can be mitigated easily, but you may catch a more serious condition in its earlier stages and be able to have it treated before it worsens.

    The Potential of Spine Surgery

Spine surgery can be a viable solution, but it is generally regarded

as a last-resort effort for treating spinal abnormalities and is almost never recommended as a treatment option at first. The reason surgery is not typically recommended as a treatment option after a patient is diagnosed with a certain spinal abnormality is that conservative (nonsurgical) treatment efforts usually mitigate pain and other symptoms to a manageable level. However, if conservative treatments have been attempted to little or no avail after several weeks or months, surgery may then become an option. If so, you should consult your primary care physician about the idea of surgery, receive multiple other medical opinions, and do some research of your own to educate yourself about your condition and how surgery might help.

It starts with a desire to help people. Many times, the personal drive to become a physician begins during childhood. It might originate with an impulse to help people. Or perhaps you particularly admired your pediatrician, or showed an early aptitude for and an interest in science. It doesn't really matter how it begins, because once someone makes the decision to become a physician, the path is well-mapped. A very specific set of academic and experience hurdles confront every medical student, and even though the requirements might change from specialty to specialty, the route doesn't differ – only the amount of time it takes to reach the destination.

    Undergraduate Education

Of course, anyone who decides at a relatively young age to pursue a career as a physician is likely going to need to perform exceedingly well academically. That starts in high school, when the requisite work habits and foundation of scientific knowledge are developed and nurtured. It also is important to get good grades and score well on college entrance exams because a student considering a career in medicine will want to attend the best possible university, and that means earning A's.

Once you've started college, you will most likely want to take courses that emphasize basic sciences such as biology, chemistry and physics. It also goes without saying that in order to qualify for one of the very competitive seats in medical school, academic achievement during the undergraduate years is paramount.

    Medical School (Undergraduate Medical Education)

After four years of undergraduate education, a student will enter a medical school that is accredited by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME). Here, you'll undergo preclinical and clinical training. It is at this stage that some future physicians decide to pursue a doctor of osteopathic (DO) degree, rather than a doctor of medicine (MD) degree. Regardless, after successful completion of medical school, a person can call himself or herself "Doctor." But really, the journey has only just begun. After med school, things get real.

    Residency Program (Graduate Medical Education)

The first year of the residency used to be known as an internship. The American Medical Association no longer calls it that, but the length of a residency program has remained the same. For some specialties, such as family practice and internal medicine, a residency typically lasts three years and is spent learning and gaining experience under the supervision of an experienced practitioner of the chosen specialty. General surgery and other "tough" residencies last up to five years.

Once the residency has been completed, the newly minted physician has a few more options. You could move into a fellowship, wherein you conduct further study into a subspecialty such as gastroenterology or psychiatry. This can last another three years, depending on the subspecialty fellowship attended.

    Licensing and Board Certification

Once the residency has been completed, a physician must become licensed in the state or states where he or she will practice medicine. This involves passing a series of exams that demonstrate what was learned in medical school and the residency. After becoming licensed, many physicians choose to seek board certification through a specialty certifying body such as the American Board of Medical Specialties or the American Board of Physician Specialties. This involves taking more exams, and periodic recertification. Throughout a physician's career, he or she will be expected to attend continuing medical education (CME) courses on a regular basis to stay updated on technological advances and best practices.
