When replacing or purchasing new tires for your vehicle, knowing how to choose the best tires for your vehicle can make a huge difference in how well your vehicle performs for your needs. The right tires can do everything from creating a smoother, more comfortable ride, to increasing your fuel efficiency, as well as adding to your vehicle's overall safety. Always check with your trusted tire technician or owner's manual to find your vehicle's exact specifications for tires, and compare that with what is rated for your driving needs.

Price doesn't mean everything - You can find some of the best performing tires, often at a fraction of the price that specialty tires sell for. Many trusted name brands frequently have manufacturer specials and rebates that can add to the overall savings. Compare brands based on performance, not on price. Specialty tires that can be purchased for racing, off-roading, or show cars may not always be the best for everyday driving needs. If your vehicle does double duties, investing in different sets of tires may extend your investment and the life of the tires.

Speed ratings and performance ratings are typically listed right on the tires themselves. Directly on the sidewall you will see coded letters and numbers, this code is your rating for the tires. The rating will tell you the tire size, it's width, aspect ratio, diameter, and construction, as well as their load rating (how much weight it can handle), and it's speed rating. A "P" on the tires is the most typical, rated for 'passenger' vehicles, or 'performance' makes. An "LT" is an indication that it is a 'light truck' tire. If a tire is coded "AT" it is rated for 'all terrain'.

Safety ratings can vary by brand or tire. Understanding your tire's safety rating can help in situations of hauling loads on light trucks, off-roading or all terrain vehicles, and racing performance tires. For typical vehicles there are no formal safety ratings, but reviews can be found predicting the rate of flats, blowouts, puncture ratings, and safety performance. Tires are also rated for their performance in weather conditions, such as icy winter roads, standing water on roads, or hot summer asphalt. If you live in an area with severe weather or temperature extremes, look for tires with specific ratings for your conditions.

Tire tread on most non-performance tires can typically last around 40,000- 100,000 miles, or up to 5-6 years, depending on tire brand, model, and design. Many street performance tires need to be replaced around 25,000 miles. Tread design can be essential for everything from weather conditions, to road hazards and driving terrain, to fuel efficiency. Most tires come with a standard warranty, typically 3-5 years, depending on manufacturer. A good investment in tires with a longer warranty can save you money in the long run, and provide peace of mind and safety. Tire maintenance is important for the longevity of your tires, including rotations, wheel balancing, and alignment.

Choosing the right tires for your vehicle will be based on your analysis of your driving habits, budget, and needs. Check with your expert tire technician for the latest news and available tires for your vehicle. Tire technology has come a long way in creating many tires for every need. We're always here to help answer all of your tire questions, stop in today!

Whether you're a weekend warrior or you're looking to sit back and catch a few professional or collegiate sporting events, Oklahoma City provides a variety of sports and outdoor entertainment options for your next visit. With the Oklahoma River flowing just south of the city, there are a number of water sports and outdoor adventures you can embark on while you're here. Also, the city has a professional basketball team and boasts a number of collegiate teams in and around the greater Oklahoma City area. So, no matter what season it is, there are always sporting and entertainment options for you and your family.

    Enjoy the Great Outdoors

Oklahoma River's Boathouse District is home to the Oklahoma City University rowing and kayaking teams and is the site of numerous regattas throughout the year. Purchase an Adventure Saturday pass from the Chesapeake Boathouse for hourly rentals on kayaks or bicycles, or to go on a daily excursion or guided tour. The SandRidge Sky Trail is a brand new adventure course in the Boathouse District that will provide hours of fun for the whole family. At 80 feet high, the Sky Trail features six levels of challenges including rope ladders, zig-zag beams, and other obstacles.

Outside of the Boathouse District, there are a number of other outdoor activities available while you visit Oklahoma City. The Oklahoma City Zoo and Botanical Gardens is one of the top three family-friendly zoos in the United States and spans over 119 acres. With new exhibits arriving on an annual basis, the Zoo always has exciting adventures for kids and adults alike. Also, the City of Oklahoma City Parks & Recreation maintains over 4,200 acres of park lands for residents and visitors to enjoy, including athletic fields, lakes, nature areas, and walking or biking paths. There are plenty of public golf courses, tennis courts, and playgrounds as well, so the whole family can get outside and enjoy themselves.

    Professional and Collegiate Sports

In 2008, the Seattle SuperSonics franchise of the National Basketball Association relocated and became the Oklahoma City Thunder. Now one of the most dominant teams in the NBA, the Thunder play some of the most electrifying basketball in the league. Also, the recently renovated Chesapeake Energy Arena, which houses the Thunder, offers upscale restaurants, clubs, a Kid's Zone, and new concessions. Though tickets to a game may be difficult to come by, there isn't a bad seat in the house, and you'll be treated to a full night of entertainment and fun.

Just south of Oklahoma City is Norman, Oklahoma, which is home of the University of Oklahoma Sooners. With 153 All-Americans, 44 conference titles, 7 national championships, and 5 Heisman Trophy winners, the Oklahoma Sooners football team has some of the strongest history and tradition in all of college sports. If you can catch a home football game, the crowd at Oklahoma Memorial Stadium, which can hold 82,112 people, will help provide the sporting experience of a lifetime.

    Equine Events

Oklahoma City is home to more equine events than any other city in the world. The State Fair Park equine and livestock facilities have also been recently renovated to offer state-of-the-art barns, exercise areas, and conference rooms. Horse and livestock shows take place almost every week at the State Fair Park, so make sure you take a look at the upcoming schedule before you plan your next visit.

For the adults, the Remington Park Racing and Casino is open every day of the year and offers live horse racing from Thursday through Sunday during racing season. The casino is also home to Bricktown Brewery, which provides daily drink and food specials. So, whether you want to swing by and place a few bets, or you're looking for a full day of entertainment, Remington Park is a great place to visit during your stay in Oklahoma City.

Whether you're catching a few preseason baseball games, or you're planning on playing a couple rounds of golf, make sure you check out the unique arts and entertainment options that Scottsdale has to offer. The entrepreneurial and adventuresome spirit from which Scottsdale was founded is directly reflected in the art and music of the area. With many weekly and monthly events for the arts, as well as multiple centers for modern art, Scottsdale has become a main hub for art in the United States.

    Public Events

Scottsdale offers a variety of public events for the arts and has quickly become known as a national pit-stop for art collectors. At the annual Scottsdale Arts Festival, 200 jury-selected artists from around the nation come to show off their talents in:

    • Ceramics

    • Digital art

    • Drawing/pastels

    • Glass

    • Jewelry

    • Painting

    • Photography

    • Printmaking

    • And more

Along with the great variety of artistic talents on display, you can also enjoy music from local bands, delicious cuisine from the area, and special admission prices for students and children. Held during the beautiful spring weather, the Scottsdale Arts Festival has become a local hit and can't miss annual event.

In addition to the Arts Festival, Scottsdale offers more frequent events for artists and local galleries. Every Thursday evening the Scottsdale ArtWalk takes place in downtown Scottsdale along Main Street and Marshall Way. During ArtWalk, galleries team up with local businesses and performers so that guests can browse through the exhibits, eat and drink in nearby restaurants, and enjoy live music throughout the entire evening.

    Museums

While the public art scene is rapidly growing, Scottsdale has always been committed to preserving the arts in the region through its Native American heritage and Western traditions. The Scottsdale Historical Museum captures the city's history through photographs, artifacts, and displays that change throughout the year.

There's also a growing devotion to contemporary art, and the Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art, or SMoCA, reflects the city's commitment to art from the past through the present. Devoted to contemporary art, architecture, and design, SMoCA challenges your expectations about visiting an art museum and challenges your expectations about visiting an art museum by presenting exhibits with a contemporary twist. Recently, SMoCA has introduced the SMoCA Lounge – a space that exists to inspire creativity, imagination, and fun for the community. There are also a number of interactive exhibits at SMoCA that make visitors part of the art.

    Performing Arts and Nightlife

Scottsdale's artistic atmosphere extends into the nightlife as well with many evening performances taking place throughout the year. The Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts offers over 200 performances and events every year. Ranging from Broadway performances to comedy routines, the Center offers an excellent variety of entertainment. Also, its convenient location in the heart of downtown allows you to enjoy yourself at one of the many local restaurants before you see a show.

While the Scottsdale nightlife is more well-known for its celebrity hot-spots and massive nightclubs, there are a handful of local lounges that serve up creative cocktails and offer unique atmospheres. Most of these more laid back atmospheres are connected to the luxurious resorts, like at The Westin Kierland Resort & Spa where Weiser Whiskey Bar & Cantina offers guests fine tequilas, specialty whiskey drinks, and an upscale Mexican-inspired menu. For a more rustic feel, check out the Rusty Spur Saloon, once Scottsdale's first bank, where the creativity of the locals is on show. You can browse through the wild designs on the walls while you listen to some local live tunes. Wherever you go in Scottsdale, the unique artistic flavor of the city will follow you throughout your visit.

    *********************** ARTICLE START ***********************

Probably, you have been engaging yourself in Google Adsense business for one, two or more years, you would have learnt many things theoretically and practically on how to increase Google Adsense earnings. In this article, I want to highlight five very important points on frequent top mistakes made by most website publishers using Google Adsense ads to earn passive income. I am writing this based on my personal intensive studies on how to increase Google Adsense earnings from ebooks written by successful Adsense publishers and also my practical experience on my various websites and blogs. Therefore I seriously advise you to take note of these five common mistakes made by most Google Adsense publishers.

Firstly, you should know that although Google AdSense is a great program used by many to passively earn dollars on the net it also expects you to respect a few set of rules. Many Google AdSense publishers are in such haste that they fail to go through these simple rules. This set of Google AdSense publishers only rush in and rush out. Some also read these rules but think that Google AdSense will be too busy to check their sites. You should know that every click from your site is duely traced by Google whether automatically by their bots or even physically by their staff. Never break Google's policy for publishers. Don't make visitors create "artificial clicks" on your website regardless of the person doing so or the reason.

If you refuse or fail to comply with Google's terms for Adsense publishers, you would simply succeed in having your AdSense account suspended or cancelled. You can see now why studying and complying with these rules is by all means the most important point of note on how to increase Google Adsense earnings.

The second point you should take note of with great seriousness in order to increase your Google Adsense earnings is making the right choice of color palette to suit your website so that the Google Ads will not appear as a distinct content different from your website content. Many Google Adsense users get this wrong a lot of time. They use a bad color palette for their Adsense ads.

Many times this happens because the Google Adsense publishers are not knowledgeable enough to change default color palettes to suit their various websites. Other publishers however just cannot spare enough time in changing those default color palettes. Having Adsense ads that stand out differently from the other website content wil most probably push people away from clicking such ads; while having AdSense ads which is clearly visible but blended with the website content will not. Make sure your ads have the right colors that blend in with your site

The third point to emphasize in order to increase Google Adsense earnings is the right location of the Adsense ads on your site. The position of the ads is probably the key element you should get right if you are determined to maximize your profits with Google AdSense. Many expert publishers on the web and Google Talks also emphasize the importance of locating your ads in a very strategic place on your website. Strategic positions on each website vary. To simplify this, Google provides you with statistics which illustrate what positions work particularly well on your website for each AdSense ad. Make sure they're positioned in the right places to attract as many customers as possible.

The number four point to increase Google Adsense earnings is the right choice of banner ads size. Using AdSense ads size 480x60 in most times discourages many web surfers away because most Internet surfers have developed a natural resistance to such sizes of banner advertising especially if it contains pictures. Always try to avoid using banner-like (480x60) ads unless you really know what you're doing

The last but not the least point to increase Google Adsense earnings, is to drive traffic to the site running the ads and updating the content of website. You should attract a lot of daily visitors to your website; otherwise it will probably never earn you any significant AdSense revenues. You should constantly keep your site fresh and up to date.

Once more, I have written this short article based on my personal intensive studies on how to Increase Google Adsense earnings from books written by successful Adsense publishers and also my practical experience on my various websites and blogs. So by following these simple tips, I hope you should be raising your AdSense revenues in no time.

When you initially become an expat, in most cases you move with a company that provides you with a house, transport, perhaps a furniture or removal allowance and they help you to settle into your new environment. When you return back home, some expats are lucky enough to perhaps move with the same company or have bought a house during their time away and can settle in quite quickly and comfortably. Even if you do have these advantages, there will always challenges that you did not count on encountering.

These Top Eleven tips should help you along your path home.

    1. Who is picking you up from the airport and how much luggage did you bring with you? We arrived back at home with six huge suitcases, a box, 4 hand luggage cases and 5 laptops. We needed help! Arriving back on 4 January did not help our move, family and most friends were still on holiday. We were lucky to have one close friend still in the area who kindly brought their 4×4 and with our hire car we managed to transport the luggage to our destination. You WILL need help unless you are arriving back with minimal luggage.

    2. Where will you stay on arrival, until you are settled? Do you have friends or family that you could stay with until you find something more permanent? If you are moving back with your company, will they have accommodation for you? Ensure you have an interim. We stayed with family for the first three weeks and found a house to buy in that time period, however it was going to take another six weeks before we could move into our new home. The estate agents found us a self-catering unit at a reasonable. It was not ideal, but served our purposes and we are all still speaking to each other.

    3. Find a home and school? You can start looking for a home before you leave your host country there are some fantastic property search websites that can be found in nearly every country. When searching for a home take into consideration the proximity of your new home to school/s and work. Few people buy online, but it will give you a good idea of prices, area, proximity and size.

    4. Register your kids into a school? This goes hand in hand with your new job and hopefully finding a home close by. Government run schools are a little easier to get your children into if you live in an area that has to enroll your child into a school in the district. Private schools are more difficult and you will have to register your children and they may well go onto waiting lists. Be patient you will find a school and don't compromise, places do become available as the list shortens with children going to other schools.

    5. How will you get around? Did you keep your old car stored away for the period that you were an expat or will you need to hire a car? How long will you need the car for and do you need to buy new one/s? Start looking online for pricing and dealerships or second hand offers. We kept our hire car for three months and bought one car after being back at home for a week. After three months we found the second car and were back to a two-car family.

    6. Do you have bank accounts? Did you keep your old bank accounts functioning? If so you should not have a problem with obtaining loans or a mortgage. If you haven't you need to get a bank account set up asap. We did keep our bank accounts and a mortgage account, which we did not owe a lot of money to, just in case we needed the extra cash for deposits on the new home or cars, etc. It did help but we battled with the legalities of proving we were resident in the country and not still expats as we did not have a house which would give us a Water and Lights bill. However, as we were known by the bank we eventually managed to prove permanent residency to ensure our new mortgage was approved.

    7. Insurance? Why this question, well unless you have kept up your insurance policies such as personal insurance of you laptops, jewelry, etc, you may want to ensure that you are insured. We were expats in a country where crime did not exist, you could walk out of a shop without your mobile phone and a shop assistant would find you in the mall to return it to you. Our home country is the complete opposite it was vital that we were insured before we landed.

    8. Have you kept your host or home country mobile phones? Do you have Internet connection? Host country mobile connectivity is going to cost. When you land in your home country there are always shops around to buy a new sim card or top up your old one. We arrived with children who needed new sim cards for the BlackBerries, my old home sim had gone missing in the move and my husband had cancelled his old one before we left. We needed new sim cards and connectivity to ensure we could work, within 30 minutes we all had new mobile numbers and were connected.

    9. When will your container arrive? This will determine how long to rent or rely on the kindness of others, as well as when your container can be delivered and unpacked. When we moved to our host country it took three and a half months for our container to arrive, we therefore sent our container ahead by half a month when returning home, in the hope that we could find a house within the three months we expected it to take to arrive on home soil. Our container arrived within one and a half months of departing the host shores. We had to organize storage for the period it would take us to move into our new home. Beware of these incidents that may seem small but can become a headache.

    10. If you have transported your Pets, when do they arrive back home and how long will they have to be in quarantine? This can be very traumatic for the animals and owners, be prepared for long quarantine periods in certain countries and find out where and when you can visit to keep contact with your hairy friends.

    11. Unpacking, this is all dependent on buying or renting a home, when the container arrives and can be delivered. Help is always required because it is chaotic, find some helping hands who can look after children and who are willing to drop a hot meal off. Find that box with the linen and towels for those first few nights.

    12. Medical Insurance. Finally, when we left our home country as expats we cancelled our medical insurance as this was provided by our host company. The insurance was different to the one we had been on for 20 years. When returning home and having being expats for 5 years our original medical insurance company wanted to charge extra fees (on a monthly basis that were exorbitant – almost double what we were originally paying) as a penalty for not remaining with them during our expat assignment. Before you leave to become an expat, find out what your medical insurance company policy is (unless you remain with the same company for your assignment) and if it is to penalize you for resigning from the medical aid, then remain on the insurance at a minimal cost to ensure you are covered when you return.

You cannot plan for every eventuality but you certainly can try.

Good luck and enjoy your new job, home and being back on familiar ground.

Article Title: Making Money Online: There Are No Shortcuts

    *********************** ARTICLE START ***********************

Never make the mistake of thinking that you can take short cuts to earning money online. Not if you you're looking for a long-term solution.

If you're going to set up an online business, you need to do it the right way which means doing it well.

The old adage "a job worth doing is worth doing well," is a good one to keep in mind when it comes to running an internet business. You need to create a website that customers want to return to again and again.

Just remember that no one made it online by cheating. And that's what shortcuts are. They're doings the quick way without necessarily doing them the right way.

So if you want to run your own online business you need to have a good plan to start with and get reliable hosting for your website.

And your website should be your own and not the type of site that you buy ready-made, covered in ads and with affiliate sales links all over it.

Those types of websites never make much money. They're all about sales and not about connecting with visitors to the site.

Years ago there was a glut of ready-made, money-making websites all over the internet. The problem was that they all looked the same and were covered in ads for all the latest gimmicks but had no content.

No you hardly ever see these types of websites, althought there are still some around. But don't be fooled by them.

These types of sites have many conditions attached to them telling you what you can and can't do. Mostly you can't add your own content or put up your own ads.

Instead you need to have your own website that you control completely.

This means you must be able to create your own website, or at the very least, be able to understand the source code and what it all means so that you can tweak it and make changes whenever you need to.

If you're not in control of your own website, you're not in control of your online business. Someone else is.

And don't make the mistake of renting space on someone else's website either. Get your own hosting. Learn how to upload pages to your website and change and add things any time you need to.

Doing anything less than this, is a shortcut and should be avoided.

Once you know how to create your own website you can repeat the process any time and have as many websites as you want. And it won't cost you anything.

Being completely in control of your websites this way, means that you'll never have to be at the mercy of web page designers or have to pay anyone else to do your online work for you.

Let's face it, if you want to run an online business, you need to be able to do your own online work.

So don't take short cuts. Learn to do everything the right way. Even if, in the future, you decide to pay someone else to do some of your website work for you, at least you'll know they're doing it right and not over charging you for the work they do.

Make sure that the person running your online business is you.

Article Title: Does Your Business Have a BSP? Learn Why it Should Have

    *********************** ARTICLE START ***********************

1 in 5 start-up businesses don't last past the first year. And only 28% survive to their tenth year! The reasons for these frightening statistics are many and varied.

However, the Insolvency and Trustee Service (Ministry of Economic Development) who gather and publish data on Insolvency and Bankruptcy, consistently report the following to be major reasons:

    Excessive use of credit facilities

    Domestic Discord

Ill Health or Lack of insurance!

    Loss of Income

    Adverse Legal Action

How long could your business survive if a key person died or become incapacitated through illness or injury?

    Succession Planning

The development and implementation of a Business Succession Plan (BSP) containing Preservation and Exit Strategies can be critical to the survival of the business (and therefore the family) and the realisation of its equity value during a sale should this occur.

Business Succession Planning provides a predictable and certain outcome for the business, shareholders and their families.

    A well constructed BSP:

Protects the value of the business

    Creates creditor confidence

Ensures a fair value for the blood, sweat and tears that has been put in

    Maintains profitability

    Ensures liquidity

    Protects the family

Without a BSP, a likely scenario of a shareholder dying without the correct insurance could be:

The Estate owns the deceased's shares in the business with no cash at hand

The Estate is pushing for settlement (Your share in your business is more than likely your biggest personal asset.)

The business partner has a new equity partner – immediately (The Executors or Trustees principal duty is to get the best value for assets for the Estate.)

    The business value will decrease.

Without guaranteed funds where does the cash come from to purchase the deceased shareholders shares? Do you really want to sell other assets? Or ask the bank manager for a loan increasing your personal risk? Or accept a new business partner not of your choosing?

But what if the shareholder does not die? A likely scenario could be:

The person suffering the illness is alive and owns shares but no cash

The person who is sick is pushing for settlement

The business partner is around but now a non-productive equity partner

The non-productive partner still has equity and voting rights

    The business value will decrease.

    And further effects could be:

    Downturn in revenue

    Loss of Profits

Inability to service and repay debts

    Replacement Costs

    Competitor Attack

    Loss of Key staff

    Preservation Strategy

This is designed to cover additional expenses – eg recruitment, salaries, contract fees, accountant, and lawyers.

Also to stabilise cash flow to ensure entity can meet its fixed outgoings and maintain gross profitability.

    Exit strategy

This is to create capital to release personal guarantees and debt, pay staff redundancy, cover most legal and accounting expenses, clear out creditors which will stop the fire sale of assets, and to help clean up any taxes that may be outstanding.

    The risks are such as:

Loss of profitability normally generated by the key person.

The additional costs and disruptive downtime incurred in securing and integrating a suitable replacement to the business.

Important customers and/or valuable contracts that may be lost or unable to be completed.

Loss of market share as competitors take advantage of the situation.

As a Business Owner What Are Your Obligations?

If you are a sole trader or a member of a partnership, you are personally liable to an unlimited extent for obligations (including loans) incurred in the normal course of business.

Directors can be personally liable if they cause or allow the business to be carried on in a manner likely to create a substantial risk of serious loss to company creditors.

As part of the Companies Act 1993, a company must be able to pass the Solvency Test immediately after a distribution is made. This means:

Liquidity Limb – Company must be able to pay its debts as they fall due in the ordinary course of business.

Balance Sheet Limb – Company has assets greater than all its liabilities including contingent liabilities.

Therefore it is imperative that you also cover debt

As a general guide, the amount of insurance required depends on the guarantee. Most bank loan or overdraft guarantees are joint and several. This means that each guarantor is liable for the full debt, not just a proportionate share.

    Business debt could be to:

    Banks / lenders

IRD – Tax bills or arrears

    Landlord

    Staff (outstanding holiday pay etc)

    Creditors

    Suppliers

    Shareholder Protection

What might happen to control and future ownership of the business if one of the partners or shareholders should die or become seriously disabled?

Do you want to be in control of who you are in business with?

How important is it that your estate and dependants receive a fair price for your shares or business interest?

These are all key questions that need to be answered so that appropriate shareholder protection is provided to create the cash required in the unexpected death or serious disablement of a partner or shareholder, to enable the purchase of their shares or business interest.

How much shareholder protection is required?

There are three questions we need to answer:

Who are the shareholders and what is their share of the ownership?

Do you have a Buy/Sell Agreement to create a certain outcome in case of an unplanned exit from the business?

How is the business valued and, what is the value of your business today?

    Buy / Sell Agreements

are legally binding contracts between business owners / shareholders that set out the agreed process should a predetermined event occur to one of the parties, such as: Death or Terminal Illness, Total and Permanent Disability, Critical Illness.

Unfortunately it appears that many of these agreements have been poorly written and in some cases not even executed! It is critical that an expert in drafting these agreements is involved and that it is reviewed yearly along with the BSP, so as to ensure the intention of the agreement, business value and insurances remain relevant and sufficient.

    Summary

The most relevant Business Succession Plan helps you protect the personal wealth that you've worked so hard for.

It enables you / your family to extract the best value of the (probably) biggest asset they have for their Estate. With the freedom to make all the decisions they have to when they need to and the ability to move forward.

No other funding alternative is guaranteed to be available when they need it.

It's all about providing you with Control, Cash flow, Certainty.

Do you hate paying your ACC Invoice?

Well if you are self-employed and receiving Non – PAYE shareholders salary or taking drawings, then this is for you.

New Zealand is a land of Small to Medium Enterprises, and if you are like many business owners who began your business and ended up on the default ACC schemes of CoverPlus, or WorkPlace Cover then help is at hand.

There is an alternative which may suit your situation and allow for significant savings to provide better insurance cover for both sickness and injury, not just injury. Let me introduce you to CoverPlus Extra.

CoverPlus Extra is an agreed value accidental injury scheme where you can select the level of cover you want (within limits) and therefore provide the ability to reduce the cover and the associated levy.

Do you split your income for tax purposes?

Under the default schemes you have to "prove a loss". This may be difficult when your partner is seeking to claim, as the income does not reduce due to the efforts of the other partner.

    Example:

Paul is a Plumber who's taxable Income is $40,000.

Paul's wife Wendy, has a taxable income is $40,000. Wendy runs the office for 5 hours a week.

ACC may not pay if Wendy was to claim, as Paul generates the whole $80,000! With CoverPlus Extra you can "lock in" the benefit that will be paid as it is an Agreed Value contract.

Are you on the correct Occupation Code?

All shareholders must be on the same Occupation Code under the default schemes.

With CoverPlus Extra each shareholder can be coded as per their occupation within the business. So this would mean for the above scenario Wendy could be rated as an Administrator – saving even more money!

    So what's the catch?

Well nothing. There are some Pro's and Con's as with all schemes, and these need to be discussed along with your insurance cover to ensure that they fit together and work at claim time without paying for more than you need.

However, in general I have found CoverPlus Extra to be a significant advantage for many business owners looking to save money, get better cover and more certainty at claim time.

    The Last Word

As individual circumstances vary, always seek advice from a Authorised Financial Adviser before making any changes to your existing insurance plans (including ACC), or taking out new insurance policies.

The Accident Compensation Corporation (ACC) provides comprehensive, no-fault personal injury cover for all New Zealand residents and visitors to New Zealand.

What injuries am I covered for?

Wounds, lacerations, sprains, strains, fractures, dislocations and work-related injuries such as hearing loss may all be covered. Most physical injuries are covered if they're caused by:

    an accident

a condition that comes on gradually because of your work (gradual process)

    medical treatment

    sexual assault or abuse

There is a specific definition of 'injury' in the Accident Compensation (AC) Act 2001, which is the law that ACC must apply when considering applications for claims and assistance.

ACC has to be satisfied that you have suffered a personal injury, which can mean any of:

    physical injury

mental injury suffered due to physical injury

mental injury caused by certain criminal acts (Listed under Schedule 3 of the Accident Compensation Act 2001 )

damage (other than wear or tear) to dentures or prostheses that replace part of the human body

death due to a physical injury.

    What doesn't ACC cover?

    ACC does not cover:

    illness

stress, hurt feelings, loss of enjoyment or other emotional issues(these may be covered if these are the direct result of a physical injury or sexual abuse)

injuries related mainly to ageing. That means we don't cover injuries to teeth from normal use, or heart (cardio-vascular) disease or brain

(cerebro-vascular) disease, unless it stems from medical treatment or a work injury involving abnormal or excessively intense effort

non-traumatic hernias (eg from coughing or sneezing, or not directly as a result of trauma)

injuries that come on gradually and are not due to a work task (non-occupational gradual process injuries).

    *********************** ARTICLE START ***********************

Some data is definitely worth preserving for a long time, for example, for 100 years. It all depends on the field you are working in, but personal memoirs, family photos, inventions or articles are all examples of the things that may be worth saving for the next generations.

Longevity largely depends on choosing the right medium. The majority of old data has been preserved till nowadays on paper copies. It is surprising because paper catches fire easily, can be damaged by floods, and chewed by rats. The main secret is that, usually, there were many copies of same book or manuscript. Many of them perished in time but some of them survived, because they had been kept in archives, libraries or private collections.

Based on described examples, there are two factors which determine longevity of any data: the number of copies made of original data, and how widely they have been distributed between different locations. For example, printing a book in 50,000 copies gives a very solid ground for saving it for 100 years. Having many copies of texts published in Internet may or may not be sufficient for preserving it with the same success. Internet sites usually require more resources than having a paper book somewhere. Our culture has, also, a deep respect towards books, and no electronic medium has yet achieved such status. Any Internet server takes energy, hardware needs replacing and software requires maintenance. The tradition of keeping texts in Internet is new and we can not really be certain that our files will last for 100 years on the net.

There seems nothing wrong with keeping your important data in the same way it has been done for centuries, ie in printed form. Some file formats, like .txt, .rtf and .doc, will probably have a pretty long life, too. The most burning question is where should we save those files to still have them available after 100 years.

Make many copies and distribute them

Having important data just in one computer is a certain recipe for disaster. Hard drives are the most vulnerable parts of any computer and they will most certainly not survive more than 10 years (which is about 10 times shorter period than we need). Distributing copies between different computers helps a bunch: if one hard drive crashes, data is still available in other locatons. The problem with keeping data in computers is that they wear and tear, and need to be replaced after a certain period of time. Programs become more massive and need new operation systems as well as more powerful hardware.

One solution to this is to use an online storage provider, who takes care of the maintenance of servers and software necessary for keeping your precious files safe. It is certainly a convenient way to make automatic backups and keep them in another location. It means that you do not need to worry about hard drive crashes, fire, flooding, theft or any other local disaster. Online data storage services are pretty new. They are definitely worth looking at as one element of your data backup plan. Yet, the longer future of online storage providers is unknown, and you should also look for other options on your own, in order to keep your data safe.

One day I was cleaning up my drawers and found 15-year old CD-R disk with my old articles on it. I took a look at the content of this CD and discovered my old works, which were perfectly stored and in very good condition. I have been doing backups in various forms but using CDs seems to be one of the easiest and cheapest ways to store data safely. In my recent article "Are CDs and DVDs Still Good for Data Storage?" I compare CDs and DVDs, and came to a conclusion that they both are still very good mediums today.

We all would like to have our data safely saved for a long time. Today, it is hard to name any other mediums that are universally useful and probably also readable after 100 years beside CDs. Recently I made a really cool discovery: I found a CD brand called "Archival Gold for 300 years". I tried these disks out and found them pretty solid for archiving my important data. It is well known that gold resists oxidation, and, apparently, that extra layer protects also against scratches, scuffs, dirt, chemicals and fingerprints.

Easy recipe for preserving your data for 100 years

Save your data in multiple formats onto the medium which is the most probably readable in the future. Use only the best quality disks, which are designed for lasting long. Make multiple copies and keep them all in different places (at home, fiend's house, office and rented vault).

A reverse phone number lookup is an internet service that allows you to search any number, fixed or mobile, and access to information such as a name or an address. It is important that you know how to find these reverse phone number search engines and how to use them.

Have you ever had an unknown number call your home or cell phone, which asks if your refrigerator is running? Prank calls are large in number, and are very aggravating. You can end these annoying calls, looking for their number on a reverse phone number search box. Once you have a name and an address, you can report them to the police.

Another way to use a reverse phone lookup is tracking down old buddies and friend. Save time and use the number that you have! More accurate reverse phone lookup services have lists of names and addresses of the owners of current and previous phone owners. You do not need to ask your friends or spend time searching through their old address books for a name and an address, an online reverse phone lookup directory do everything for you in less than a minute.

You can also search reverse number in any business idea. There are millions of people who need to find the name and address of a specific number, and they don't know or understand the concept of a reverse phone finder. This is where you can offer the service of searching the number for them, for a reasonable price. Most private investigators use a reverse number finder subscription to find information for their clients. This is an easy way to make a little extra cash.

You can also search reverse phone number on any business idea. There are millions of people who need to find the name and address of a specific number, and do not know or understand the concept of a reverse lookup search. This is where you can provide the search service for them, at a reasonable price. Most private investigators provide subscription using a reverse phone lookup to find information for their clients. This is an easy way to make some extra money.

Now, I'm sure that you are asking how these researchers found a reliable reverse phone number.. The trick is to research! Find a reverse phone lookup service that lets you do a quick search in which basic information is displayed. Repeat this process with several phone numbers of people who really know and check if this information is correct. If information is incorrect, switch to a different service provider. Do not look for a "100% free" reverse phone number finder, which tends to be scams and generally do not have precise information look no further...

The price is a very important aspect of finding a reliable reverse phone lookup. Look for the service that sounds to be reasonably priced and more accurate. Most people look for free reverse phone number services and never find one. The reason that these services are not free because the information given to you when you are looking for a number is not for public information, it is mandatory to pay a fee. Luckily, most reverse phone lookup search give two paid options, one-time or annual subscription.

Subscriptions are paid at the beginning of the service, allowing you to continue to search throughout the month or the year, and a one time fee only allows you to pay and look at any given time. Private investigators usually have the subscription, since search constantly, which saves a lot of money. If you are just looking to find only one number, then pay a one time fee.

When you find a trusted reverse phone number lookup, and pay for the service, you can start finding your number. Most websites have three large boxes which is written the number out. For example, NNN.NNN.NNNN is your number, write out and click on the search button. Different results will appear according to the search box you are using. The common information that can be obtained is a name and an address. If you find a good reverse phone number service, you can get other information as a satellite image, phone line type (fixed or cell phone), the service provider, county, area, population, area code type nearby, primary area, name, company, business, area office, and even criminal record.

As you can see, using a reverse phone number is very useful. Rather than spending time asking friends or search address books, a reverse phone lookup service can find the name and address you need in a matter of minutes. Most of the people use the information given during a search to locate an old friend, or find out if spouse is cheating. However, it is upto you how you will use reverse phone. Good luck in your search!

If you're going to be visiting Philadelphia in the near future, make sure you organize your itinerary so that you can visit a variety of the beautiful neighborhoods in and around the largest city in the commonwealth. Whether you're coming to The City of Brotherly Love for business or pleasure, make sure you explore beyond your hotel room. The famous historical sites like Liberty Hall and the Liberty Bell Center are monumental attractions and great learning environments for people of all ages. However, there is more to be seen outside of the downtown attractions, and visiting some of these local neighborhoods may give you new insight into what Philadelphia has to offer.

    University City

Home to two prominent universities, the University of Pennsylvania and Drexel University, University City offers a youthful atmosphere that remains alive, day or night. Easily accessible from the South Street Bridge, University City provides a little something for everyone to enjoy. During the day, Penn Park has some of the best views of downtown Philadelphia and plenty of places for the kids to play. Nearby, the Institute of Contemporary Art on the University of Pennsylvania campus offers free admission and schedules regular concerts, lectures, and gallery tours. To experience the local culture, visit the Porch at 30th Street Station to hear some of the area's live music while you browse through the famers markets or catch a bite to eat from a food truck. At night, duck into one of the many intimate college bars for a fresh micro-brew and a game of billiards.

    Powelton Village

Just to the north of University City sits Powelton Village. This area is home to some of the most incredible Victorian architecture in all of Philadelphia. In fact, a number of the residences in Powelton Village are protected by the National Register of Historic Places, creating a distinguished feel to this quaint neighborhood. Powelton Village is also home to a number of colorful and original small businesses, including cafés, book shops, and small eateries. Possibly the biggest attraction in Powelton Village is Drexel Park. At just over two acres, Drexel Park boasts some wonderful walking paths, benches, and open, green space where locals and tourists alike stop by for exercise or some relaxation. Drexel Park also offers an incredible view of the Philadelphia skyline and, on a nice day, has some visually stunning photo opportunities.

    Queen Village

Closer to the Delaware River, you'll find Queen Village. The prime waterfront location and historical architecture of Queen Village create one of the best neighborhood atmospheres in Philadelphia. For more active travelers, Queen Village is extremely accessible by foot or bike, so exploring its various corridors is both easy and fun. If you're out to do some shopping, Fashion Row on 4th Street offers a multitude of small boutiques and shops that can keep you busy for hours. Slightly to the north lies Headhouse Square, a popular open space that is home to bars, restaurants, and a weekend farmer's market known to be the best in the city. At night, there is plenty of drinking, dancing, and fun to go around Queen Village as well.

    Pennsport

Just south of Queen Village lies Pennsport, another riverfront neighborhood that boasts beautiful scenery and a variety of small pubs and restaurants. Perhaps the most unique parts of Pennsport are the Mummers bars that are spread throughout the neighborhood. The Mummers Parade is one of the oldest traditions in Philadelphia celebrating New Year's Day, and the Mummers clubs in Pennsport provide year-round entertainment for Philadelphia's night life. If you aren't a night owl, during the day Dickinson Park is a great seasonal spot, and there are plenty of local shops and cafés nearby to keep you entertained throughout your visit.

With over 200 courses in the area, Scottsdale is a golfer's paradise. Whether you are looking to play some of the famous Sonoran Desert courses or the same courses you've seen on the PGA tour, the courses in Scottsdale offer challenges for every level of golfer. However, playing 18 holes out here in the desert heat is no walk in the park, and there are a couple of things every golfer needs to remember before stepping out onto the course. By following a few simple tips, you'll ensure that you have the opportunity to shoot a great round and enjoy yourself afterwards as well.

    Stretch Before You Start

Especially during the latter days of your trip, stretching before and after your round of golf can be key to playing well throughout your trip and sustaining your general well-being after you step off the course. Because it gets so hot in Scottsdale, oxygen does not reach your muscles at the normal rate your body is used to. This means you will have a higher risk of severe muscle cramps throughout your time in Scottsdale. In order to reduce your risk of muscle cramps, it's vital that you stretch in the morning before your round and immediately after you walk off the course. When you golf, your back, hips, and legs take the most wear and tear, and there are a few stretches you can do that will keep these areas loose and powerful.

    • Hamstring stretch- Lie on the floor near the outer corner of a wall and extend one leg vertically in the air. Rest the heel of that leg against the wall and straighten your leg until you feel a stretch.

    • Knee-to-chest stretch – While you're already laying down, pull one knee to your chest, keeping your other leg straight. This stretch will focus on the muscles in your lower back.

    • Hip flexor stretch – Kneel on one leg and extend your other leg in front of your body. Lean forward until you feel a stretch on the outer thigh area.

    • Standing torso rotation – Extend both arms out to your sides and turn your torso to the left and right to loosen up your oblique muscles

    Water, Water, Water

It's no secret that out here in the desert the afternoon heat can take its toll. Staying hydrated is not just important for your health, but may also keep your game focused and help you shoot a better score. The morning of your round, you should try to drink at least two glasses of water with your breakfast. Getting your body prepared early on will help when the afternoon heat comes around. Also, pack multiple bottles of water for every player in your group. Frozen water bottles are a must, and it's guaranteed they'll be melted and ice cold by the time you hit the turn. Having a wet towel to wipe your face and neck is another great option to keep you on your game.

Reserve a Nice Spot for the 19th Hole

Once you've tallied up your score card and prepared your body for some rest and relaxation, make sure you've lined up a spot at one of the luxurious clubhouses or restaurants nearby. If you were smart enough to hold off on the alcohol until after your round, treat yourself to a unique cocktail or fresh local micro-brew. Also, don't forget to make reservations at one of the many fine restaurants in Scottsdale to try out the local cuisine. The chefs in Scottsdale are constantly creating new dishes packed with flavor, so you can't go wrong in selecting your evening getaway. If your tee time isn't too early the next morning, check out one of Scottsdale's celebrity hotspots - where sports stars, musicians, and movie stars alike go to enjoy themselves after hours. But, don't forget to drink some water before you go to bed so you'll be hydrated and ready to roll for that last round of golf.

    Outdoor Recreation

When you visit Oklahoma City there's no reason to spend all day inside your hotel or the local shopping mall. On the east side of Lake Hefner, you'll find the Oklahoma City Boat Club, where weekly sailboat races are organized throughout the summer. • And more

Whether you're looking to spend the whole day outdoors or you just need to get out for some exercise, Oklahoma City provides plenty of opportunities for you to catch some fresh air.

    Entertainment and Nightlife

Oklahoma City's nightlife and entertainment options have expanded dramatically in the past decade. For some family-friendly options consider checking out the Oklahoma City Zoo. Kids can go on safari adventures or ride a replica locomotive throughout the entire zoo grounds. Your kids may also like the Science Museum of Oklahoma where they can enjoy a one-of-a-kind IMAX film experience or stand in awe at the Planetarium Theater.

For adults, the nightlife in Oklahoma City is sure to take you beyond the usual bar & grill. At the City Walk, you'll find a number of new nightclubs and restaurants with a variety of themes ranging from cowboy or western, to disco or safari. If you're looking to do a little bit of gambling while you're in Oklahoma City, there are casinos in the nearby towns of Norman and Shawnee, although you may want to book a room at their locations for the night, as driving home may be out of the question. Regardless of where you go, you'll find the entertainment and excitement you want when you visit Oklahoma City.

Almost 75% of people will develop cataracts throughout their lives. Cataracts are groups of dead cells in the eye that accumulate in the crystalline lens, causing it to become cloudy. Over time, cataracts can increase in size and drastically reduce an individual's vision. Thanks to modern advances in ophthalmology, cataract surgery is the most successfully practiced surgical procedure in the United States, with over 1.6 million operations each year. While the success rate is high, cataract surgery is still an extremely complicated and delicate procedure that takes precision and patience on the part of the doctor.

In cataract surgery, the crystalline lens that has developed cataracts is removed and replaced with a synthetic lens to improve an individual's vision. In order to remove the crystalline lens, doctors have to make a small incision around the cornea and then create a round opening (called a capsulotomy) from which they can remove the old lens and insert the new intraocular implant. Once the incisions have healed, the patient will have near-perfect vision and will no longer need corrective lenses like eyeglasses or contacts. In the past, doctors have performed cataract surgery manually using a sharp blade and medical forceps. However, new technologies have become available that increase the doctor's precision, simplify the process, and reduce the patient's recovery time.

    What is a Femtosecond Laser?

A femotecond is one quadrillionth of a second, which is the rate at which the femtosecond laser emits optical pulses. The laser tightly focuses these pulses to allow for extremely precise and controllable incisions. This precision means that the femtosecond laser can create a perfectly circular hole in the lens capsule. Rather than slice into the eye like a blade, the femtosecond laser allows doctors to separate tissue by ablating and cleaving it. So, once the laser makes the initial incisions, the damaged lens can be removed using ultrasound and the doctor can implant the intraocular lens with higher accuracy. The physical laser is compact in size and can be transferred relatively easily from room to room.

    Advantages of the Femtosecond Laser

During the operation the laser allows doctors to have three-dimensional control over their incisions. This means the precision of their incisions increases dramatically and allows for superior control of the depth to which their incisions reach. This type of control is impossible with manual procedures that utilize surgical blades because even the most skilled surgeons do not have the required dexterity to perform such elaborate incisions.

Because cataract surgery using a femtosecond laser is a bladeless operation, doctors can also be more consistent in their surgeries, increase the speed at which they operate, and help the patient experience a much shorter recovery period. The laser's accuracy allows for smaller incisions, meaning there is a much smaller chance of infection or complication after the surgery has been completed. Plus, most lasers come equipped with pressure sensors that increase the laser's stability and accuracy, creating a more comfortable experience for the patient.

Finding a Surgery Center with a Femtosecond Laser

Femtosecond lasers are already in place for LASIK (Laser IN-Situ Keratomileusis) refractive surgeries and are becoming more widely used throughout the United States. However, this innovative technology is extremely expensive, so not all surgery centers have a femtosecond laser in place. If you need cataract surgery and are interested in having your procedure done using a femtosecond laser, contact your local ambulatory surgery center and ask them about the technology they have in place for cataract surgery. Also, if your procedure is being covered by your insurance, make sure the surgery center takes your insurance plan so you don't encounter any unexpected expenses.

Thanks to Philadelphia's historical roots in the American Revolution, there are a variety of museums, art centers, and historic sites to see while you're visiting The City of Brotherly Love. Whether you're looking for a fun day with your kids, or you just want to take in some of the sights, there are plenty of options that will spark your interest. Most of the city's attractions are located in or around the city center, but there are a few exceptions that are worthwhile as well. For example, a short trip up to Valley Forge National Historic Park is a must. With over 3,600 acres of greenery and trails, Valley Forge is a great place to spend the day riding bikes and picnicking in the great outdoors. Also, the monuments, statues, and buildings throughout the park create a remarkable colonial atmosphere that will set the mood for your entire trip to Philadelphia.

    More Colonial Sites

Philadelphia is home to some of the most historic representations of American freedom in the country. The first place to stop is the Independence Visitor Center, where you will receive information about the sites, museums, shopping, dining, and other entertainment options in the greater Philadelphia area. You'll also be able to pick up free tickets to visit Independence Hall where you can take a guided tour through the building where American freedom was born. After you've brushed up on your history, walk on over to the Liberty Bell Center. Throughout this expansive center, you'll be able to view historic documents and images that explore the facts and myths that surround the history of the Liberty Bell.

Some other historical sites worth visiting include the National Constitution Center and the Declaration or Graff House. At the Constitution Center, you'll walk through exhibits that show the different sections of the United States Constitution, explaining both how they were crafted and their implications for the way modern America governs itself today. At the Declaration House, you'll feel a more intimate connection with the site where Thomas Jefferson wrote the Declaration of Independence. Recreated furnishings from the period and some first-floor exhibits make this one of the most interesting stops on your historical tour of Philadelphia.

    Art and Science Centers

Along with the great historical sites, Philadelphia is also home to some of the most interesting and compelling art and science museums in the country. The Please Touch Museum is the most kid-friendly museum in the city because of its emphasis on hands-on learning and cultural awareness. Every room of the museum carries a different theme and multiple activities for little ones between the ages of one and seven.

For adult visitors, the Philadelphia Museum of Art's dramatic presence at the end of Benjamin Franklin Parkway makes for a great evening spot and offers some of the most impressive galleries in the country. From the Renaissance to Modern art, a variety of styles and cultures are on display throughout this museum's different exhibits. Plus, the price of your admission ticket grants you two days of access so you don't have to feel rushed when viewing the pieces on display, allowing you to soak in the beauty that lies before you.

    Cultural Centers

While there is plenty of American history to go around in Philadelphia, the city also prides itself on the multi-cultural atmosphere and sense of camaraderie it carries throughout its various neighborhoods. The National Museum of American Jewish History sits in the heart of historic Philadelphia and explores the American ideal of liberty through the American Jewish experience. The core exhibit in the museum utilizes state-of-the-art technologies to give visitors an interactive experience with artifacts, stories, and 30 original films that portray how Jews shape and are shaped by America. The African American Museum in Philadelphia in another must-see, with an amazing collection of art, pictures, costumes, and exhibits that tell the story of African American life from the past through the present. This museum first opened in 1976 as part of the Bicentennial celebration and is the first museum of its kind to be funded and built by a city to preserve African American culture.

"The Incredibles" is an action-packed animated film that tells the story of the Parr family. The Parr family is like any other suburban American family with the exception of one extraordinary secret. Mr. and Mrs. Parr were once known as Mr. Incredible and Elastigirl, two brave superheroes who regularly saved the world from the forces of evil. "The Incredibles" is known for its witty humor and numerous one-liners throughout the script. This list covers the top five most memorable, humorous, and poignant quotes from the film.

Syndrome: "And when everyone's super, no one will be."

Syndrome is the super-powered villain who serves as the film's main antagonist. He also happens to get some of the funniest lines in the movie. This quote occurs when Syndrome is explaining his nefarious plan to zap the entire earth with a ray that would give everyone superhuman abilities like those possessed by the Parr family. Syndrome once tried hard to be Mr. Incredible's sidekick, calling himself Incredi-Boy and utilizing inventive gadgets and new technologies he developed in his spare time. Mr. Incredible refused Incredi-Boy's help, which incited the disappointed and highly troubled man to turn evil in order to exact revenge. His initial plan was to kill all of the world's superheroes, but years later, he decided to take a different approach and nullify the purpose of super powers by giving the entire world superhuman abilities.

Syndrome: "You sly dog! You caught me monologuing!"

This is one of the most popular quotes in the movie and serves as a great example of the tongue-in-cheek humor used throughout "The Incredibles." When Mr. Incredible interrupts Syndrome's long-winded explanation of his plan to take over the world, the villain utters this line, putting a small crack in the fourth wall of the movie. The quote is a reference to the movie trope that villains must always deliver a lengthy and prideful explanation of their evil plot, giving the hero time to come up with a way to thwart them.

    Edna Mode: "No capes!"

This simple but humorous quote comes from Edna Mode, Mr. Incredible's fashionable ally and the designer of all prominent superhero costumes. Edna decides to help out the Incredibles by designing durable and efficient costumes for the entire family to aid in their quest to help Mr. Incredible. When Dash asks if their costumes will include capes, Edna replies with an indigent refusal and proceeds to explain why. Although she once designed superhero costumes with capes, she stopped when the impractical nature of the cape turned lethal for several of her clients.

Mirage: "Next time you gamble, bet your own life."

Mirage is Syndrome's sultry right-hand woman and serves as the second main antagonist throughout the film. When Mr. Incredible gets the upper hand on Mirage and threatens to kill her, Syndrome calls his bluff and tells him to go ahead. Once Mr. Incredible releases her, Mirage delivers this line to Syndrome, letting him know just how upset and disappointed she is by his cavalier attitude towards her life. At the beginning of the film, Mirage is infatuated with Syndrome and fully believes in his cause. This line marks the beginning of her disillusionment with Syndrome as a person, sparking a transformation in her character from blind follower to something more.

Mr. Incredible: "No matter how many times you save the world, it always manages to get back in jeopardy again."

A haughty Mr. Incredible in his glory days delivers this line during an interview with the press. He and his friends are used to saving the world on a regular basis, and he clearly has a nonchalant attitude about crime fighting. Mr. Incredible laments the effect that saving the world on such a consistent basis has on his personal life. In fact, early in the film he's shown nearly missing his own wedding due to the constant demand imposed on him by his vigilante work.

"The Incredibles" is a family action adventure that delivers on laughs, story, and plenty of great fight scenes. While each major character gets their turn in the comedy spotlight throughout the film, some deliver punch lines more consistently than others. Syndrome might be the villain, but he earns just as many laughs from the audience as the film's major protagonists with his sly one-liners and over-the-top antics. Edna Mode is also recognized as one of the film's funniest characters, in spite of her role as a supporting character. The pint-sized fashion designer makes plenty of witty social commentary that might fly over the heads of younger audience members, but is sure to have adults laughing. If you love action-filled movies with great humor for all ages, "The Incredibles" is a must-watch film.

Based on Max Barry's best-selling novel, "Syrup" tells the story of a young advertiser (Shiloh Fernandez) who is chasing money, fame, and his dream woman. The young advertiser dubs himself Scat because he knows that no one will ever be impressed by the name Michael. However, changing his name is only the first of his tricks.

Having just finished a degree in marketing, Scat invents an exciting, new product that he decides to pitch to the Coca-Cola company. Believing that his product will revolutionize the advertising world, he tries to convince the beautiful 6 (Amber Heard) that his idea is worthwhile. As the film unfolds, audiences get to enjoy a funny script and a plot full of surprises, and Scat gets the opportunity to learn about the insidious and deceptive world of advertising.

Scat's million-dollar idea is actually an energy drink that he names Fukk. Working on the idea that sex sells, Scat hopes to sell millions of this drink simply based on the product's name alone. The idea that one can sell a product just based on its name is one of the central ideas underpinning this movie, and for people who like to think about the advertising world, this may be one of the most compelling parts of the film. Unfortunately, Scat forgets to protect the product's name, and he loses it to his so-called friend Sneaky Pete (Kellan Lutz). Pete capitalizes on Scat's idea, and he makes Fukk into a wildly popular drink.

At this juncture, the film takes a slight turn that surprises some audiences and makes others groan at the film's predictability. To increase the popularity of Fukk, 6 is called onto the scene. She turns to Scat and asks him if he can create an advertising campaign that will really sell the drink.

Watching Scat create this campaign reminds audiences of how truly ridiculous the advertising world really is, and as the film progresses, Scat starts to realize this fact for himself. Although the film is primarily a comedy and full of snarky wit, it is in some ways a coming-of-age tale for young Scat. The new Fukk campaign that Scat invents is incredibly successful. However, it gets labeled as a failure when a young kid dies while mimicking the ad. Scat is forced to take the blame for the ad, and his early success is contrasted with his unbelievably new job as a rickshaw driver. Nonetheless, this may be one of the most unrealistic scenes in the film.

Luckily, Scat is rescued from this new life, and he is reunited with 6. Together, this couple, who has great rapport on screen, invents a new drink called Cok. In a plot development that is surprisingly funny in spite of its predictability, the Fukk scenario repeats itself, but this time after a death caused by mimicry, 6 is forced to take the fall.

Being an ideal film for anyone who has ever wanted to take a satirical look at the advertising world, "Syrup" is honest and biting while being a bit ridiculous and slightly absurd. The writing is not perfect, but some of the lines that the cast delivers will leave you rolling in the aisle, especially if you like witty sarcasm. However, in spite of the great dialogue and incredible one-liners, the film has a tendency to plod along, and it may be too slow for some movie fans.

Many reviewers thought that the film would be the sort of thing to pop up at Sundance. Instead, it was picked up by Magnolia Pictures and took a more conventional route. "Syrup" was released to theaters on June 7, but an earlier OnDemand release was made on May 2.

Under the direction of Aram Rappaport, the film is polished and sleek. Unfortunately, the film's trailer undersells the film, and that may be misleading to some potential viewers. The main problem with the trailer is that it fails to showcase any of the film's best dialogue. The acting is better than the film itself, and there are even a couple of cameos in the film that are worth mentioning. Although she only appears for a second, Kirstie Alley is in the film, as well as Brittany Snow from "Would You Rather" and Josh Pais, the voice of Raphael in the original "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" movie.

If you are looking for something that is relatively intelligent without being too deep, "Syrup" may be the film for you. It is perfect for people who prefer wit over plot. Overall, the film is easy to watch, and the story is entertaining.

"The Incredibles" is a 2004 animated action film that made history by setting a new bar for films of its type by drawing in the whole family and setting them down for 115 minutes of a fun animated adventure. The concept is brilliant, the script is tight and paced well, and the whole thing is brought to life in vibrant colors and, what was then, the state-of-the art computer graphics. While each of these factors was important to the movie's eventual triumph at the box office and its success in winning the hearts of its audiences, there has to be more. Some additional factor drove the success of "The Incredibles," and it is worth looking into what it was, if only to encourage filmmakers to try to catch that lightning in a bottle once more.

The concepts driving "The Incredibles" are as simple as they are fun, and they actually owe quite a lot to the groundbreaking work that had been done years before by the X-Men series of graphic novels. Themes such as power and responsibility and love and loss, as well as the inevitable aging process, are explored via the device of imagining a city full of superheroes who are, for political reasons, stripped of their freedom to operate and restricted to dull lives as private citizens. This state of affairs comes to a jarring halt when a new villain emerges who seems intent on wiping them out and crushing the city that so long ago rejected him.

The script for "The Incredibles" was brilliant and well constructed. It can be difficult to write for an animated feature, if only for the general lack of actors' feedback and inability to deliver a quick rewrite on the fly. The effort is complicated further by the appeal that the film needs to have for viewers in at least two key demographics. While kids may be drawn in by bright friendly colors and the promise of a fun fantasy, adults tend to be more discriminating and will demand that more work be put into keeping them occupied. The challenge to a writer is thus to go high and low at the same time and to lard up the script with any number of inside jokes that were always intended to sail over the kids' heads and land squarely on the parents. This puts a special set of demands on a writing crew. Fortunately, the writers behind "The Incredibles" were more than up to the task.

The animation in this movie was groundbreaking for its vibrant color palette and fearless use of shading and contrast to demand attention and focus the audience on key elements in every scene. While older, more traditional cell-based animation often delivers subdues hues and a noticeable flattening of picture elements, the digital shots of "The Incredibles" accomplishes the opposite. Shapes bulge and colors pop as one action sequence gives way to another, and subtle changes in shading clue the audience into the filmmakers' desired shift in mood. The decision to fully digitize "The Incredibles" allowed for a precise frame-by-frame manipulation of every line and shade, giving the movie exactly the feel that was intended by its animators.

None of this really captures the essence of what it is, exactly, that makes "The Incredibles" great. It's all well and good to write, direct, and animate a darling children's romp, but it's something else entirely to draw in audiences of all ages and send them away buzzing about the unique experience they just had in the theater. That special something may be termed the movie's spirit or motive force. "The Incredibles" wants very badly to take its audience into new lands. By exploring the concept of the family, bonds of loyalty, and bureaucratic red tape, "The Incredibles" masters ground that's hardly been approached by other animated films and actually marks a temporary resurgence of the old philosophy of the German expressionist school of filmmaking. The movie draws in its viewers and really makes them care about a set of characters who will soon be pitted against a cruel and unfeeling world: a world they find they can't get out of saving after all, despite its rejection of them.

These are deep intellectual waters to be tread by what is basically a kid's adventure tale. This is as it should be, since adults will find something to enjoy, while the children in the audience will have something to work toward understanding, even if only to figure out what their parents are laughing at throughout the film.

It's the end of the world as three billion people morph into rage-filled, fast-paced zombies intent on shredding all living flesh into a smorgasbord of bite-sized snack food. Thirty years ago, this type of plotline would come with an action hero with bulging muscles and a heavy accent-or, more likely, to cult-horror star Bruce Campbell-but 2013's "Word War Z" features Brad Pitt in the role of warrior-savior. Although the movie hit a few potholes during filmmaking, most critics agreed that Pitt fits in the role nicely.

"World War Z," which was slated to hit theaters in December 2012, was rescheduled for a June 2013 release after Paramount decided the film could benefit from a do-over. Treating the film like the victim of one of its own zombies, the studio ripped off the ending, rewrote part of the script, and reshot a good part of the climactic ending. Movie critics received the news of the "World War Z" surgery with the same enthusiasm with which villagers received Frankenstein's monster. Luckily, director Marc Forster and his team did a better stitch job on "World War Z" than Victor did with his creation, and pre-release reviews are piping good vibes into the entertainment industry.

"Word War Z" is based on a book by Max Brooks and features global themes commonly associated with apocalypse movies-especially those with the shuffling beat of zombie feet. The movie distinguishes itself from cult classic zombie fare and popular zombie television shows by delivering a different sort of monster. The hordes pictured in "World War Z" are like undead human locusts. They swarm up and over buildings, cities, and people in an onslaught akin to moving water. The result of this change in zombie-related viewer expectations is both breathtaking and nightmare inducing. One of the strengths of "World War Z" is in the scenes of terror and devastation, and the filmmakers spare no expense in this area. Viewers see action in New York, Korea, Jerusalem, and more.

In an attempt to highlight a human element amid the global destruction, "World War Z" concentrates on Gerry Lane (Pitt), an employee of the United Nations. Lane and his family struggle with the events of the zombie apocalypse. They find themselves safe aboard a ship in short order, but Gerry's work isn't done. He is sent on a mission to find the first person infected with the zombie virus. Lane travels across the world to investigate the outbreak. When Lane encounters other humans, viewers get an even grimmer picture of death and destruction. Human companionship in the universe of "World War Z" is often short-lived and violently ended.

The last third of the movie is the result of Paramount's decision to take the film through a chop shop, and discerning viewers may be able to tell where the first try stops and the second attempt picks up. There's a different pace, a different viewpoint on the zombies, and a different feel to the last part of the film. Gerry, who has managed to draw together a small band of survivors, infiltrates a World Health Organization lab in an attempt to discover what started the zombie plague. It's in these scenes that viewers first get up close and personal with a few zombies. Despite the impressive hordes in the first two thirds of the film, the zombies turn out to be brainless and clumsy entities after all.

"World War Z" includes a competent cast, although no individual stands out with quite so much star power as Pitt. Other actors in the film include Mireille Enos, Daniella Kertesz, James Badge Dale, Ludi Boeken, and Matthew Fox. Overall, the film is fast paced and presents the type of underdog-against-all-odds storyline summer audiences favor. When the camera moves away from the terror of the zombie plague and attempts to shine the light on human elements, the story does get a little clunky, but that's almost a trademark of zombie films, and it doesn't detract too much from the film overall.

Other than the impressive scope of rapid zombie hordes, "World War Z" doesn't bring anything extremely unique to the zombie-apocalypse genre. Even so, the extra work and production delays were probably worth Paramount's time and money. The result is a movie that stands above average and provides a few hours of adventure for summer audiences.

After the disappointment of Bryan Singer's 2004 "Superman Returns," the triumphant return of the iconic comic book superhero, Superman, has been greatly anticipated. Marketing materials, behind-the-scenes interviews, and trailers released in the weeks before the film's general release on June 14, 2013, promise a Superman unlike any that previously has been brought to film. This is not the Clark Kent of "Smallville" or the mild-mannered reporter made famous by Christopher Reeve. This is a hero tailored for a new generation, but also true to the very core that has made the character an enduring icon for 75 years. Warner Bros. is keen to celebrate this milestone with a successful launch of "Man of Steel."

Warner Bros. seems to have placed its hope for a franchise reboot in good hands with the team of Zack Snyder ("Watchmen" and "300") as director, Christopher Nolan ("The Dark Knight" and "Inception") as writer and co-producer, and David S. Goyer ("Batman Begins" and "Da Vinci's Demons") as the main writer. The goal seems to be about presenting a more relatable Superman, one that could exist in today's world. This has been a sound tactic for superhero movies over the past decade; it was used in films such as "Spiderman" and the X-Men movie franchise.

Viewers of the film trailers most likely have made note of a marked costume change for the big blue wonder. All aspects of the character were scrutinized, and the team decided that his red "underwear" had to go. The spandex of the past is now gone, and a new fashion iconography will take its place. The "S" that is emblazoned on Superman's chest also is given its own origin story, one that is out of this world. "It's not an S," the hero explains; it is a glyph, the symbol of Kal-El's family, much like the heraldry crests or sigils of ancient times. This idea sure beats explaining why an alien has a letter of the English alphabet stitched onto his chest.

The mythology of Superman explores a concept that has been used in countless movies and television shows: the tug felt from existing in two worlds. In "Star Trek," for example, Spock had difficulty in balancing both his Vulcan and human sides. Peter Bishop from "Fringe" always felt that he did not belong in his world, and it was revealed that he actually was a stolen doppelganger son from a parallel world. Of course, ancient mythology is also filled with tales following a similar theme, but Superman is probably the best modern example. At first Clark Kent does not know he is also Kal-El from the planet Krypton. He is raised on Earth by Jonathan (Kevin Costner) and Martha Kent (Diane Lane) as their child. For all intents and purposes, they are his parents, as they instill good values and character in the adopted boy. But secrets have a way of coming out, and, eventually, Superman is given the choice between saving humanity and Earth from annihilation and spawning new hope for his Kryptonian heritage.

The selection of Henry Cavill for the starring role wasn't a surprise to anyone except for Cavill; he didn't even know he was up for the part until he was told he was going to be the next Superman. Cavill may be the center of attention, but other characters appear to hold their own. Amy Adams' Lois Lane looks to be more resourceful and just plain more interesting than the character has ever been. The villain, a somewhat familiar General Zod (Michael Shannon), is multi-dimensional and shown to be a character bound to his purpose of keeping the memory of Krypton alive.

If the trailers are any indication, Superman's powers serve two purposes. Of course, they are meant to be used as a means of exploring the inherent heroism found in humans, but the superhuman powers also are used for cinematic effect and truly make for jaw-dropping action sequences. Any fan of the franchise knows the laundry list of the character's extraordinary powers, such as "faster than a speeding bullet" and "more powerful than a locomotive." In "Man of Steel," Superman's full arsenal is put to use against a well-matched foe. As a complete package, this reimagining of a modern hero is a welcome addition to the decades-old franchise, and this movie is recommended as the must-see film of the summer.

"Man of Steel" is the long-awaited remake of the 1978 classic "Superman: The Movie." The film details the origin of Superman while introducing a fictional universe inhabited by other DC Comics characters. The Superman character was created in 1933 by Joe Shuster and Jerry Siegel, who sold the rights to the character to DC Comics in 1938. The first Superman movie, "Superman and the Mole Men," was released in 1951 as a precursor to what was to become a very successful television series, "Adventures of Superman," which ran from 1952 through 1958.

The story begins on the planet Krypton, where scientist Jor-El (Russell Crowe) lives with his infant son, Kal-El. Jor-El knows that the planet is dying, so he plans to spirit his son away to another planet so that he will be safe. At the same time, General Zod (Michael Shannon) is leading a military coup. Zod and his men are eventually caught, frozen, and banished to a nearby black hole just before Krypton explodes.

The movie then cuts to Earth more than thirty years later, where the adult Kal-El, now known as Clark Kent (Henry Cavill), is working on a commercial fishing boat. Although he is well aware of the special powers he possesses, he hasn't let on to the rest of the world yet. Kent is the adopted son of Illinois farmers Jonathan (Kevin Costner) and Martha (Diane Lane) Kent.

Kent is finally tested when a holographic image of his father appears. Jor-El tells Clark about the fall of Krypton and drops hints about his purpose on Earth. Clark then meets up with Lois Lane (Amy Adams) and heads back to his hometown, Smallville, just in time for the arrival of a thawed-out Zod and his henchmen, who are determined to rebuild Krypton on Earth. At this point, Kent makes the official transformation into Superman and dons the iconic blue suit for the first time in the movie.

Much of the remainder of the film is a violent life-or-death battle between good and evil as Superman struggles with the possibility of giving up his life in exchange for Zod sparing the planet. Although some of the violence takes place in Smallville, Metropolis is also featured in a nod to earlier films.

Although director Zack Snyder had limited experience prior to "Man of Steel," his work on the movie was completely in line with what screenwriter David Goyer and producer Christopher Nolan had envisioned. Snyder's made his feature-length directorial debut with the 2004 hit "Dawn of the Dead," and that experience served him well in this film.

Henry Cavill took Christopher Reeve's place playing Superman, and he did the now-departed actor proud despite his lack of experience. Cavill began his acting career in 2001 playing Thomas Aprea in "Laguna" and followed that up with the role of Albert Mondego in the 2002 classic film "The Count of Monte Cristo." He is best known for his role as Charles Brandon on the television series "The Tudors," which ran from 2007 to 2010.

Amy Adams aptly played the role of heartbreaker Lois Lane. Adams' career began in 1999 with a bit part in the feature film "Drop Dead Gorgeous." She played small roles in several other movies and television series, including "King of the Hill" and "Dr. Vegas," but her breakout role was as Brenda Strong in the 2002 smash hit "Catch Me If You Can." She has since acted in hit movies such as "Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby" and "Enchanted," and she is best known for playing Julie Powell in "Julie and Julia." Adams has been nominated for four Oscars, although the prize continues to elude her. She has garnered thirty-four award wins and an additional forty-eight nominations.

Michael Shannon was perfectly cast as the evil General Zod. A Kentucky native, Shannon began his acting career in 1992 in a series of made-for-television movies before landing a small role in the 1993 hit "Groundhog Day" with Bill Murray. By the early 2000s, he was taking roles in high-profile movies such as "8 Mile" and "Bad Boys II," and he played his first recurring role in a television series in "Boardwalk Empire," which ran from 2010 to 2012.

While most of the movie's stars are relative fledglings in the industry, the heavy hitters were there in the roles of Clark Kent's biological and adoptive parents. Diane Lane, Russell Crowe, and Kevin Costner are some of the brightest and most sought-after stars in Hollywood, and they help to add an air of legitimacy to "Man of Steel." Between the three actors, they have 107 years of acting experience between them, as well as three Oscar wins, one other Oscar nomination, and an additional seventy-nine award wins and 103 nominations.

Although "Man of Steel" is a remake of an earlier film, it reflects the original less than it does contemporary action movies such as "The Avengers" and "Transformers," and that may not be a bad thing. Expect "Man of Steel" to focus more on the action than the characters themselves, although the movie brings back the locations, characters, and premise of the original film.

The day that so many Christians knew would come has arrived in the form of the rapture, a day where true believers ascend to heaven, leaving nonbelievers on Earth to fend for themselves. Having a less-crowded planet might seem like a great idea, but the Earth portrayed in "Rapture-Palooza" is one full of wraiths, blood rainstorms, human-like locusts, the occasional zombie, and other problems. It isn't exactly an ideal world, but many people, like married couple Lindsey (Anna Kendrick) and Ben (John Francis Daly), find a way to deal with all of it.

At first, Lindsey and Ben are fairly apathetic about the rapture, sitting in their quaint suburban house watching TV and dreaming of starting a sandwich cart to pass out food to their fellow heathens. When they finally get the cart up and running, it helps them avoid getting bogged down in tough everyday activities like not getting killed by a wraith or not crashing their cars when the blood rain makes it impossible to see out of the windshield. Some of their loved ones, like Ben's dad Mr. House (Rob Corddry) get fed up with constantly having to survive this hell-on-earth and decide to align themselves with the anti-Christ himself, here known as Beast (Craig Robinson). The world is so weary that even the wraiths decide they don't want to do their jobs anymore, opting to smoke pot all day rather than have to spend the entire afternoon pursuing people to kill.

One day, Beast destroys the sandwich cart that has been one of the only sources of joy for Lindsey and Ben. This snaps them out of their somewhat apathetic state and makes them want to take on Beast. They begin trying to get information on him, which backfires when Beast starts to like the attention and takes a romantic interest in Lindsey. In order to dodge his advances and marriage proposals, the couple has to come up with a plan to fight Beast and banish him from Earth. If they are lucky, this might just have the added bonus of easing up the burden of day-to-day life in a post-rapture world.

Apocalyptic movies in the past have taken on many scenarios about what exactly it is that will bring on the apocalypse. Zombies, a quickly mutating supervirus with no cure, a meteorite, and even nuclear war have all been featured in films as a reason for the world to end, to good and entertaining effect. The rapture is another possible reason for the end of days, but it is often treated in a very dark, dramatic way. "Rapture-Palooza" does the exact opposite, focusing on the rapture and making it funny. Since the rapture is mostly thought of as a religious event, trying to make light of it could conceivably ruffle some feathers, but the film deftly avoids controversy by not taking itself too seriously and being downright funny. Credit for this has to go to Chris Matheson, who wrote the screenplay.

Anna Kendrick received an Academy Award nomination for her part in the very dramatic "Up in the Air" and came to prominence in the "Twilight" films, which had very little in the way of comic relief. Since then, she has tackled many comedic roles, seemingly in an effort to show that she could handle a genre other than high drama. If that is her plan, she is succeeding wildly with her turns in films like "Pitch Perfect" and now "Rapture-Palooza." She flexes her acting muscles as Lindsey, a doomed woman who is so nice and helpful that one has to wonder exactly why she wasn't one of the chosen ones who got to go to Heaven. She and her husband clearly don't belong on Earth with the heathens who got left behind, so the audience quickly gets behind the character thanks to Kendrick's very likable character.

There are a ton of short cameos in "Rapture-Palooza," some of which bring out some of the best gags and one-liners in the entire film. Chief among the cameos is one by Ken Jeong of "The Hangover" fame, who is his usual hilarious self in his short stint. Another memorable appearance is from John Michael Higgins as Lindsay's father, who is pretty much the opposite of Ben's slightly deranged dad. It's clear that some really top-notch actors really wanted to get in on the irreverent fun of "Rapture-Palooza," so they were willing to take small roles. These small parts, when combined with the winning combination of Kendrick and Daly, form an irresistible comedy treat that sets itself apart from all other apocalyptic movies.

When "The Incredibles" was released in 2004, it instantly earned critical acclaim and performed well at the box office. The number of firsts this film managed to achieve from conception to release serves to further underscore its surprising success. This computer-animated film was originally developed as an extension of the popular comic books dating back to the 1960s. Fans of both the original comic series and the film may be surprised to discover some of the fun facts relating to the movie.

"The Incredibles" was only the sixth film to come from Pixar Animation Studios. When it grossed approximately $631 million, it further solidified the studio's position as a major player. The concept of the film was first pitched by Brad Bird. Although Bird was no stranger to the industry, his first feature film, "The Iron Giant", had not met with success at the box office. Still, Pixar seemed willing to take a chance with Bird, and he became the first outside director brought in by the studio.

Bird not only directed "The Incredibles" but also wrote the script for the film. After Pixar agreed to do the project, Bird was given the task of selecting his own team to bring the film to life. He ultimately brought along a core team that he had previously worked with during production of "The Iron Giant." Most of that team had only worked on 2-D projects and was faced with the need to transition over to 3-D.

When "The Incredibles" finally was released at the box office, it marked a number of other firsts for Pixar, including being the longest-running film released by the studio. The film has a total running time of one hour and fifty-five minutes. In addition, this was the first film released by Pixar to focus almost entirely on human characters. This was also the first movie from Pixar to have a PG rating; the second was "Up." In addition, "The Incredibles" was the first Pixar film to have separate full-screen and widescreen home releases. Only the widescreen version is still available for purchase. This was also the last film from Pixar released on VHS.

Fans of the film who pay close attention may notice that the film contains a number of interesting cameos. Interestingly, "The Incredibles" is actually one of the first major films released by Pixar that does not feature an appearance by the "Toy Story" Pizza Planet truck. Even so, the delivery truck was included in the game based on the film. Other references to "Toy Story" appear in the film as well. For instance, fans may notice that a restaurant in the film is named Andy's. This is a direct reference to the character of Andy in "Toy Story." Another restaurant in the film is named Luxo Deli, which refers to "Luxo, Jr.," the first short film Pixar produced. Audiences can also see another reference to a Pixar film in the scene in which Bob has doodled a picture of Wall-E while he is listening to a message from Mirage. At the beginning of the film, the license plate of the police car is KR 54. This is a reference to the TV show "Car 54, Where Are You?"

When writing the script for "The Incredibles," Bird included a number of fun inside jokes. For instance, the scene in which Frozone, who is voiced by Samuel L. Jackson, has a gun pointed at him by a cop and wants a drink of water is startlingly similar to a scene featuring Jackson in "Die Hard with a Vengeance." In that film, Jackson's character finds himself in a similar situation, except that he is standing on a subway platform and needs to answer a pay phone. A similar situation can be found in a scene featuring Bob Parr, who is voiced by Craig T. Nelson. When Parr breaks a car door, audiences can hear him muttering the phrase, "Oh, geez." This part of the scene actually was written into the film after Nelson was selected to voice the character of Parr. Nelson's character frequently used this as a catchphrase on the show "Coach."

"The Incredibles" achieved a number of firsts for Pixar, and the success of this film remains undeniable. It went on to win Academy Awards for Best Animated Feature and Best Sound Editing.

Although he is currently one of Hollywood's most recognizable faces, Henry Cavill didn't intend to become an actor. His story begins in Jersey, one of England's Channel Islands and his place of birth. Henry William Dalgliesh Cavill was born on May 5, 1983, and is a fourth son out of five. His early life revolved around his education: first at St. Michael's Preparatory School and then at a boarding school in Buchinghamshire. The boarding school had a blooming drama and theater department, where the young Cavill learned to love acting. He was involved in many school plays, several of which earned him recognition and awards. However, acting was just a hobby to him; he wanted to become an Egyptologist and afterwards to join the royal military.

It was a stroke of luck that altered his destiny. Casting agents for "The Count of Monte Cristo" (2002) arrived at the school in search for a young man capable of taking on the role of Albert Mondego. Cavill was a perfect candidate, as he had been gaining acclaim from several of his local play efforts. The decision to take the part led to a string of film roles, including the acclaimed "Tristan and Isolde" (2006) and "Red Riding Hood" (2007), where he played the hunter. The budding actor was selected to play Charles Brandon in "The Tudors," a Showtime drama that went on to win Emmys. Finally, after losing out on several iconic roles, Cavill had a real break.

Cavill missed some of the most desired roles in Hollywood before landing a part in "The Tudors.". Bruce Wayne from "Batman Begins" went to Christian Bale, James Bond in "Casino Royale" went to Daniel Craig, and Cedric Diggory in "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" went to Robert Pattinson. Cavill was called the unluckiest man in Hollywood for a while, but the real issue concerning his loss of the Wayne and Bond parts was his youth. After wowing critics due to his Showtime drama performance, entertainment magazines and industry insiders proclaimed that Cavill would become the next big thing.

His rise to stardom was not like a rocket, though. Cavill lost out on another role to Robert Pattinson-Edward Cullen in Stephanie Myer's "Twilight." Pattinson became the richest man in Hollywood and the subject of gossip sites and paparazzi. Cavill continued to quietly and steadily work. Cavill's unlucky streak didn't seem to be over, as he was set to play Superman in the JJ Abrams penned "Superman: Flyby," but the project was abandoned. In addition, Brian Singer's "Superman Returns" (2008) was a huge disappointment. However, the franchise was not dead, and Warner Bros. chose Christopher Nolan ("Inception" and "The Dark Knight") and David Goyer ("Batman Begins," "Godzilla," and "Da Vinci's Demons") to head a new project as a reboot team.

A lot of speculation and buzz was spread throughout the film industry about who would land the coveted role, but Cavill was almost always a top choice. Fierce competition came from actors such as Ian Somerhalder ("Lost" and "The Vampire Diaries"), Matt Bomer ("White Collar" and "Magic Mike"), Armie Hammer ("The Lone Ranger"), and many other popular Hollywood leading men. Secrecy was the name of the game. Even Cavill did not know he was being considered until he was informed that he had the part. Director Zack Snyder ("300" and "Watchmen") had no one else in mind to become the Man of Steel besides Cavill.

Many people do not know that the casting for the original 1978 "Superman" film was limited to only American actors. Many considered Superman to be a true American hero and were upset at the casting of a British actor to play the legendary DC Comics superhero. However, many non-American actors in the last decade have been cast for the parts of characters not from their native countries. Hugh Jackman is an Australian, and he plays the part of Wolverine in the X-Men series of films. Another Aussie-Chris Hemsworth-became the mighty Thor, while Canadian Ryan Reynolds took the ring of "The Green Lantern." Cavill shrugged off this criticism by stating that actors are paid to play someone else, so nationality does not matter.

"Man of Steel" hit theaters on June 14, 2013. The trailers have received a positive response. People who were disillusioned by the last Superman films are excited for this installment. Even with the possibility of a record-breaking summer blockbuster, Cavill continues to work on other projects, including Guy Ritchie's "The Man from UNCLE" Will he win an Oscar-a man of gold-for "Man of Steel?"

Article Title: Refinishing Engineered Wood Floors in the Safest and Most Convenient Way Possible

Hard wood can be considered one of the most practical choices for floor material. It's strong and can give a boring, dull room a more classic façade that many people today would greatly appreciate. The problem with it, though, is that it's practically the only thing it's good at, but it only proves that hard wood is the convenient choice for any stylish flooring need.

There is one material that is currently usurping hard wood as the primary wooden floor material of this generation. It is known as engineered wood. It's said that it can be used for more projects other than floors and is actually less expensive.

Engineered wood is cheap because it is manufactured using "leftover" products collected during lumber processing. Those "scraps" are often "reconstructed" through the fusion of fibers using powerful adhesives, thus turning them into strong and versatile construction materials. Sometimes engineered wood is also known as man-made wood, composite wood or manufactured board.

It's quite apparent that engineered wood is inexpensive to produce since they only need to collect wood waste around lumber processing plants to manufacture them. But more importantly, because engineered wood can be customized in so many different ways, it can be applied in a wide range of construction projects including floors.

Some engineered wood derivatives are even specifically manufactured for construction purposes like plywood for walls, "I-joist" which is mainly used for roofs and "Finger-jointed" lumber used for floors.

It is because of this versatility that engineered wood floors are currently outpacing the conventional hardwood floors in the market today. Plus it's easier to work with and doesn't require complex tools to assemble them together. They are quite tough as well, comparable to hardwood in terms of strength.

Yet despite all these advantages, engineered wood has its own set of shortcomings as well. First of all, they're toxic. Adhesive compounds used in their production often contain chemicals such as formaldehyde that may be released when engineered wood is being cut or worked with. Worse, it's also highly combustible.

Secondly, since engineered wood lacks the resiliency of natural hard wood, it's more susceptible to humidity and decay giving it quite an unremarkable appearance as well as a shorter lifespan.

With this in mind, refinishing engineered wood floors might be something you might not want to do by yourself. Luckily, there are companies out there that specialize in this kind of job so you don't have to go through those hazardous tasks; meet a flooring team company.

Don't let that name fool you; this team is comprised of professionals well trained to work with any type of wooden floor material including engineered wood and hardwood. Refinishing engineered wood floors wouldn't be such a hassle with this team around.

Additionally, they also offer a number of flooring services which include hard wood floor installation, vinyl, laminate floor installation and even bamboo floor installation.

Refinishing engineered wood floors doesn't need to so tedious or toxic (both literally and figuratively). Just give a flooring team company a call and they can take care of it all.
