How often have you seen a child running to a window and peering out at the falling snow with a big smile and a pumpkin like face. Most children love snow, and the more the better. I know when I was a child I certainly loved the snow, and for two reasons, if often kept me home from School that day, and it made for a very fun day playing in it. As we grow from children into adults we often stop playing in the snow and having such fun because we mature as we age, and the stress of daily life, makes it so some people seem to lose a lot of their joy. Those that are lucky enough to have a playful spouse or children, know that joy and having fun, is something we all need to experience, a world without laughter and fun would not be a very nice place for anyone. On them cold winter days if your an adult and you find yourself alone, or with empty time on your hands, why not have some fun solving puzzles, in puzzle books.

Just about everyone has enjoyed Puzzle Books from one time or another, and thousands of folks enjoy them every day. When I was younger I used to love trying to solve them, it made the time pass by, and it gave me something interesting to do. Puzzle Books can still be bought for very low prices, most dollar stores and book stores carry them, and often they can be bought for 99 cents, or around that price, and sometimes these puzzle books are huge, often 2 inches thick or even more, giving you enough puzzles to solve for the whole winter season when your stuck inside with nothing to do.

Puzzle Books come in all forms, and many of them contain multiple types of puzzles, here are just a few of the different types of puzzles in these books:

Crossword puzzles - You have to guess what word answers a question, and fit's properly inside a set amount of squares or spaces.

Cryptogram puzzles - Letters of the alphabet has been changed or scrambled, and you must figure out their correct meaning or sequence to spell a word, or message.

Word Search puzzles - There are words hidden in a large group or square of letters, you must find the words and circle them

There are many more types of puzzles also, including; Math Square Puzzles and Letter Tile Puzzles

Puzzle Books are not just for when your stuck inside with nothing to do during the winter months, they are also enjoyed throughout the year at different times, some people like solving them when they are sitting on the back porch, drinking a beverage and relaxing, others take them with them when they are riding the bus to work, or traveling on a long trip, to help pass the time.

Puzzle books make great Birthday and Christmas presents, for folks from age 6 to 96, as long as you can read and write and use a pencil, anyone can have great fun solving them. The next time you visit a discount store or a book store, pick up a couple Puzzle Books, you will have a great activity to not only help pass the time, when you having nothing to do, you will also have a great activity to help beat the winter blues.

How often do you find yourself stuck in the house on them cold winter days, suffering from the winter blues? I bet you said quite often, if you did then your answer is like that of most people during the winter months. I want you to stop right now and think about what you just read, if you do find yourself stuck in the house during the winter with nothing to do, you should consider yourself very lucky. Most people are always complaining that they don't have enough time in the day to get things done. So, according to a lot of folks, if you have nothing to do in the winter because your stuck inside, you are indeed a very lucky person.

Now, if this is true and you find yourself in the winter with nothing to do, and you need an idea to help shake the winter blues, why not take up a great hobby like making bird houses for Swallows. Making bird houses is not only easy it's also fun, and if you don't want to keep and use the bird houses for yourself, you can give them away as gifts or even make some extra money selling them at craft shows, yard sales or online.

The design for a Swallow bird house can be as detailed as your imagination, or as simple as a shoebox shape made out of wood, and turned to hang or stand on end. There are just a few things you will need to make Swallow bird houses; wood, a good weather resistant wood works fine in a size of around 3/4 inch thick. Some people use plywood that's been treated for outdoors use, while others stay away from treated lumber, saying the chemicals can harm the birds, I have made bird houses from treated plywood for years, and have never seen any harmful effects done to the birds that make their homes in them, the choice of wood is up to you.

You will also need a nice saw to cut the wood with, either a power saw or a good wood cutting hand saw works fine, a vise to hold your wood securely while cutting it, ruler or tape measure to measure your wood pieces, and either your choice of nails, screws or wood glue to secure the pieces of wood together, you will also need either a jigsaw or a hole saw attachment for a drill, to make the entrance hole for the Swallows.

Cut out and assemble your Swallow bird house like you are making a narrow shoebox, it should have 4 sides, and a top and bottom, some people make the roof slanted so the rain will easily fall off, while some folks just leave the roofs flat and use a waterproof cover or coating to repel the elements, again the choice is yours on how elaborate you want to make the Swallow bird houses. The one thing you should add are a few small holes in the bottom for more ventilation and to allow any rain that enters the entrance hole from a blowing storm, or melting snow, to drain properly. The average size most designers cut the entrance hole depends on the type of Swallow in their region, you want a hole that's just big enough for an adult Swallow to enter, and yet stops larger aggressive intruders. Again, you can search the internet for a little more information on the entrance hole sizes.

Once you have your Swallow house done, you can fasten a wire hanger onto it, or create a pole type hanger, the choice is up to you. You can paint the bird house in any color or style you want. Making Swallow bird houses is not just a great hobby for fun and possibly earning some extra money, it's also a great way to help shake the winter blues.

Probably most kids at one time or another have had a turtle of some type as a pet. Turtles are fun and fascinating and most species of them are fairly easy to keep as pets. When I was a youngster I had numerous turtles as pets, some of the ones I had were; mud turtles, wood turtles, painted turtles, red eared sliders and soft shelled turtles.

Most of the turtles I had as pets were found in the wild, and I only kept them for a few days, then turned them loose. The ones I had as long time pets were the; Red Eared Sliders and the Soft Shelled Turtles, which I bought in pet stores.

One of the hardiest and favorite turtles to keep as a long term pet, is the Red Eared Slider. These are the turtles that most pet stores sell, although I have seen painted turtles and other species for sale in some stores, over the years. Before you decide on getting a red eared slider turtle, or a few of them, make sure you examine it closely for signs of sickness, such as; cloudy eyes, cracked or damaged shells, not moving or acting very lethargic for a turtle, growths or sores on it's legs or other body parts.

If you do decide to get two or more turtles, remember that red eared sliders will increase in size. My Daughter bought 4 of them a couple years ago, when she bought them they were not much bigger then quarters, and they all lived fine in one of them plastic oval shaped turtle aquariums that have the little plastic palm tree. Now, her turtles require a 10 gallon fish aquarium to move around in freely, and they will soon need an even larger home.

Your turtles home will need enough water in the bottom of it to cover it's shell entirely, when the turtle decides to be submerged, but you should also place some large flat rocks in one area, so your turtle can easily climb out to dry off, and sit when it wants to. If your aquarium is large enough you can even add a large tree limb or log for your turtles to crawl and set on. One word of warning, turtles can give you a nasty pinch when they bite, and as they get larger they can possibly even bite a child's finger off, so be careful, and avoid sticking a finger near the turtles head.

Once in awhile you will need to clean your turtles shell, as they tend to get covered with algae. Simply hold your turtle under some slow moving water, and gently scrub it's shell with a toothbrush. You may wish to purchase a product called; ' Tetra - Vitashell ', which is a deep-penetrating, turtle skin and shell conditioning cream, that you can apply with your hands to your turtles shell and body parts, this is a great product that I buy for my Daughter, to apply to her turtles after washing them.

Your turtle can live fine on the normal turtle food sticks and any other turtle treats you want to buy for them in pet stores. Make sure you keep your turtles home cleaned as often as possible, as turtles tend to dirty their water and home pretty rapidly, and in a short time they can stink really bad. Taking good care of your turtle, can give you a pet that will possibly last for many years, and it will give you something to do to help shake the winter blues.

Have you ever made paper mache with your children, or perhaps you made something out of it when you were a child, in School? Paper mache is great fun, in fact there are adults who make items out of paper mache, and they then give these items away as gifts, or sell them at craft shows and online. If you do not know what paper mache is, the most common item made from it is a pinata. The term paper mache means a substance made from pulped paper that can be shaped when wet and painted or decorated when dry.

Paper mache is a two step process, first you need to create the paper mache paste. The paper mache paste can be made from a few different things, and different ways, but the simplest method is to take elmers glue and mix it with water, use a 50/50 mixture, of one part glue to one part water, Another way to make paper mache paste is to simply use wallpaper paste. Simply follow the directions on the container, to mix the wallpaper paste.

The next step in making paper mache is to find an item you want to mache or cover. For instance when I was a youngster in School, we used an inflated balloon. Take a balloon and inflate it fully, and tie the stem shut so the air won't leak out Then carefully rub the balloon with a thin layer of cooking oil, and set it aside. The reason to rub the balloon with the cooking oil, is so the paper mache will not tend to stick to the balloon when it dires. Next tear up small strips of newspaper, roughly an inch wide and several inches long.

Take one strip of newspaper at a time, and dip it in the container of paper mache paste you made, remove the strip and run it through your fingers to wipe off any excess paste. Lay or press the strip of newspaper over the balloon, and press it down to remove as many bumps and wrinkles as possible. Then take another strip of newspaper and repeat the process. You can overlap the strips a little as needed, do so into the balloon is covered, then set it aside to dry completely, usually 24 hours.

Keep your container of paper mache paste, sealed up so it won't dry out, if it does try adding a little water to it, or you may have to make another batch of it. Repeat the process and cover the balloon again, with another layer of newspaper strips and again let it dry for 24 hours or so, and repeat the process again. Usually 3 layers of paper mache are plenty to cover any item. Once dry you can turn the shape into a head, by making a nose from taping a bottle cap and paper maching over it, and adding other items as you want.

Once completely dry and finished, you can pop the balloon or untie the stem to deflate it and remove it from the paper mache. Now you can paint your project and finish it. There is no limit to the designs and things you can make with paper mache, everything from pinata's to masks, heads, baskets, and more. Making items from paper mache is a hobby that one person, or an entire family can enjoy, and it's a great hobby for helping to beat the winter blues.

There's no surfeit of literary and cinematic entertainment dealing with fictional accounts of life in the third planet nearest the sun, Mars, named after the God of war in Greek mythology. As early as the 17th century, astronomers have observed polar ice caps that grow and shrink with the season as well as other similarities with earth like a similar tilt in the axis of rotation, about the same length of day but with a longer year.

In addition, it had dark and light features on its surface that could distinguish land and water masses. Mars became a fertile ground for speculative thought that it supported life or even human-like creatures that promptly spawned many Sci-Fi stories about life on the plant.

    Dousing the Speculation:

As early as the mid-60s, the Mariner 4 probes had shown that Mar has no global magnetic field that the earth has. This only means that its surface is open to deadly cosmic radiation and solar winds that makes life impossible. The Mars Global Surveyor made in the 90s confirmed this finding. Without any kind of shielding, the solar winds have, over the course of millions of years, stripped the planet of any atmosphere that can sustain life.

Over the years since then, a number of probes have been sent on the planet. In 2006, the Mars Global Surveyor showed the possibility that water existed with changes in craters and sediment deposits that point to some form of erosion caused by water.

Many scientist debunk this as materials like sand and dust that can erode and produce the same results. The Phoenix from NASA confirmed frozen water in sub-surface ice which the digging action of the lander caused to sublimate when exposed to the atmosphere.

    Exploring the Promise:

Regardless of what other substances were found on the surface, like methane, Formaldehyde, Silica, as brought home by the various unmanned expedition to Martian surface, they are merely evidence of what might have been and geologic speculation that life could have existed in the past. But with the current cosmic radiation bombarding the planet without end, it is plain that no life can exist on the Martian surface.

But this hasn't deterred progressive scientists into proposing ways to colonize the planet to make it a second home to humans. The notion of terraforming the planet under some form of protective umbrella against cosmic storms is already a subject of serious study.

Mars remains the only planet in the solar system closest to the habitable conditions on earth, though much of that really can't sustain life as we know it. But with some ingenious and creative engineering effort to simulate a magnetic field or manage the cosmic onslaught, as well as radical advances in space flight, the possibility of colonizing the planet need not be as remote as before.

There is a website that describes the possibility of Life on Mars and numerous other topics of interest such as conspiracies, secret technology, ufos, secret weapons research, bible end times predictions and many other such subjects, this website is called: The Great Deception and it may be found at this url: http://www.great-deception.com

If you find yourself being stuck inside during the cold, winter months, with nothing to do, and you need an idea to help shake the winter blues, why not take up a great hobby like making bird houses for Sparrows. Making bird houses is not only easy it's also fun, and if you don't want to keep and use the bird houses for yourself, you can give them away as gifts or even make some extra money selling them at craft shows, yard sales or online.

The design for a Sparrow bird house can be as detailed as your imagination, or as simple as a shoebox shape made out of wood, and turned to hang or stand on end. There are just a few things you will need to make Sparrow bird houses; wood, a good weather resistant wood works fine in a size of around 3/4 inch thick. Some people use plywood that's been treated for outdoors use, while others stay away from treated lumber, saying the chemicals can harm the birds, I have made bird houses from treated plywood for years, and have never seen any harmful effects done to the birds that make their homes in them, the choice of wood is up to you.

You will also need a nice saw to cut the wood with, either a power saw or a good wood cutting hand saw works fine, a vise to hold your wood securely while cutting it, ruler or tape measure to measure your wood pieces, and either your choice of nails, screws or wood glue to secure the pieces of wood together, you will also need either a jigsaw or a hole saw attachment for a drill, to make the entrance hole for the Sparrows.

Cut out and assemble your Sparrow bird house like you are making a narrow shoebox, it should have 4 sides, and a top and bottom, some people make the roof slanted so the rain will easily fall off, while some folks just leave the roofs flat and use a waterproof cover or coating to repel the elements, again the choice is yours on how elaborate you want to make the Sparrow bird houses.

The one thing you should add are a few small holes in the bottom for more ventilation and to allow any rain that enters the entrance hole from a blowing storm, or melting snow, to drain properly. The average size most designers cut the entrance hole depends on the type of Sparrows in their region, you want a hole that's just big enough for an adult Sparrow to enter, and yet stops larger aggressive intruders. Again, you can search the internet for a little more information on the entrance hole sizes.

Once you have your Sparrow house done, you can fasten a wire hanger onto it, or create a pole type hanger, the choice is up to you. You can paint the bird house in any color or style you want. Making Sparrow bird houses is not just a great hobby for fun and possibly earning some extra money, it's also a great way to help shake the winter blues.

Do you remember getting the winter blues as a child? I can almost guarantee that you cannot. The reason you did not get the winter blues as a child was because you loved the winter as much as spring and summer. What happened? You got older and found yourself a lot more in demand, you now have a job and you may be a parent or spouse. Now, what you have to do is to learn to use all of these demands as an avantage.

When you find yourself home during them cold days or evenings, why not use this time to learn to speak a new language, like Japanese. The most extensive way to learn Japanese is to take a class at a local School or College, if this is not something you can do, then your next step may be to try a computer software learning tool. If you want to start picking up a few words and simple phrases the easy way, there are a few methods you can use that will help. Japanese, like any foreign language can be learned a little at a time.

One of the easiest ways to start learning a new language like Japanese is to start by using everyday situations and items that are all around us. A lot of folks do not even understand the power of these things, and the ability they have to allow anyone to learn a new language. Here are some things you can use in your daily life, to start learning a little Japanese, the easy way.

Turn the TV onto one of the many Japanese stations that are available on the satellite channels, this is a great way to start picking up some common words, greetings and phrases. Browse the Internet and use it's resources: The Internet has numerous free sources to help you learn Japanese. You can visit GOOGLE and use it's free translator tool. Here you can enter words or phrases and have them translated into Japanese.

Go to a Japanese area of your city, or town, where a lot of people speak Japanese, and listen to some conversations, this is a great way to pick up some words while hearing the correct way to pronounce them. Another great resource is to purchase Children's Books that are written in Japanese, books with plenty of pictures are perfect, as the words on each page usually relate to the pictures or scenes being shown. The next time you find yourself with nothing to do during the cold months, why not broaden your mind by learning to speak some Japanese, it's a great way to help shake the winter blues.

You drive down a street and you see someone out in a large yard mowing the lawn, sitting on a riding lawnmower. The house is large and looks like it's well taken care of, there is a nice size swimming pool sitting behind the house, and in the driveway, you notice a shiny, almost new looking automobile. Scenes like this are all over the United States, and for a lot of people, it's what they consider a necessity of life.

Most of these people are so far in debt, that they are a slave to their material desires. They have to work long days, and often work weekends and Holidays, and many times, they ask to work any available overtime, for some extra money in their paycheck. Why, do they think this way, or how do they become trapped in this financial mess?

Many times it's their upbringing, they saw their parents working full time jobs, and they always had the biggest and best things, so this idea stuck in the children's minds, and as they aged, their thinking patterns resemble those of their parents, whether good or bad.

I am lucky as my Dad who was the bread winner of the family as we grew up, was just the opposite type of person, he was a person who had great restraint, and used common sense. One thing I remember Dad always saying, was; 'Don't go into debt', and 'Always pay your bills as soon as they arrive'. Dad, worked hard for years, from dawn into dark every day, on the farm we had.

If Dad, had enough money to buy a pack of chewing tobacco, he was happy. He didn't go looking for expensive cars, or fancy furniture, or other material traps, that so interest today's society. He would look for the best bargains, and go from there, instead of buying what was not needed, and getting into debt over his head.

Now, that I am in my fifties, I am blessed to have the same type of thinking as my Dad did, so many years ago. I have only owned and used one credit card in all my life, and that was a SEARS card that I made the mistake of applying for back in the late 1970's. I quickly learned that purchasing any items with a credit card, was insane, the high interest and other penalties made me soon, pay off my card and destroy it.

If I needed a new vehicle, I would save up a little cash, and buy a used one, I have never owned a new vehicle, and I have never had the desire to own one. To me a vehicle is a necessity, if you live far from your place of employment or the stores. If and when I lived in town, I did not even own a vehicle, as I walked to where I needed or wanted to go.

I have never had the desire to own my own home, because I always felt that my job would not pay for such a large expense, and I felt no desire to owning my own property, and having the hassles and other expenses of maintaining it, so since the age of 18, I have lived in small apartments that have been very inexpensive.

I have no debts, no outstanding loans of any type, and no credit cards, and I live fine and am enjoying life. I can live and maintain my current lifestyle on under then $1,000 a month easily. I have never had a desire to go into debt, and never will. Why would anyone want so much stuff, that is nothing more then earthly desires, and stupidity. I have never felt the need to impress anyone, and am happy and content. So, even here in this day and age, when there are so many families losing their homes to foreclosure, and others struggling to pay their bills, whose fault is it? Don't go into debt, and you can truly enjoy life.

There is a website that shows you numerous sources for getting a credit card or a fast cash loan, even if you have bad credit, also you can discover the best sources for credit reports, help prevent identity theft, understanding credit card terms, and much more, this website is called: Credit Cards and PayDay Loans, and it may be found at this URL: http://www.rb59.com/creditcards

Wow! Soon we will be right in the very cold times of winter, and I love it! Is that how you feel about winter too? If you answered no, then don't feel bad because your thinking is like that of most people. Now don't get me wrong, I love the spring, summer and fall, because I love to do a lot of walking, and when it's 20 degrees and windy, it makes walking pretty tough, but I still do it, because I know how easy it is to gain winter fat, and become a victim to the winter blues. Even though its cold, I love the beauty of the snow and the winter scenery while walking.

Now, most folks are outside in the summer, they are mowing the grass, fishing, playing games, cleaning the deck, or having barbecues with family and friends. In the winter it is a fact that for a lot of people to find themselves stuck inside in the cold winter months. Being stuck inside in the winter for a long period of time, it's easy to become a victim of the winter blues.

Now, here's an activity that can be done by anyone, that's 18 years old or older, I am sure it can be done also by those that are younger, but a parent or guardian would have to take responsibility for his or her child, and the activity I am talking about is, learning to whittle wood.

Unlike wood carving, whittling requires no skills, in fact if you can hold a small sharp knife and peel an apple or potato with it, then you are in a sense, whittling, but instead of whittling wood your whittling a potato or apple. Carving is not what I am talking about in this article, carving is making a piece of wood or other object like a bar of soap or some other material, into a recognized object, such as turning the block of wood into a highly detailed duck, or turning the bar of soap into a boat, or some other object.

To learn to whittle wood, all you need is some nice branch or block of wood, find some type of wood that you can easily carve, but one that doesn't seem to split or splinter too easily. You will need a small and sharp knife that's sturdy with a tight blade, one that you can hold tightly and is secure in your hand while your shaping the wood. Just start cutting away, and if you don't have a specific shape or idea of what you wan to make, don't worry, just whittle away. If you find yourself making designs or shaping the wood into something, that's great, if not just whittle away, and have fun, because you found a new way to beat the winter blues.

The Winter Blues, often called Winter Depression effects many people after they find themselves stuck inside during long periods of time during the cold months of the season. Why does this feeling of sadness or depression occur? It seems to really be that a lot of people just cannot think of things to do in their free time when they are alone or shut inside. I am happy to say that I have never experienced this, I have lived most of my adult life by myself and I get along just fine.

Now, I don't want to start rambling on about how different folks are from one another, or such, I want to get back to what this article is really about, beating the winter blues by learning to juggle. Why learn to Juggle? Juggling is one of the neatest things to do and see, how many times have you watched TV or been to a fair or carnival and seen someone juggling, wasn't it amazing! Once you master 3 ball juggling, you can impress your family, children, parents and friends.

Now, your not going to start juggling flaming torches, or chainsaws in the beginning, and I wouldn't recommend trying it ever, but that's entirely up to you as your progress and skill increases. I am going to tell you the basics on how you can learn to juggle up to 3 balls fairly easily. First of all, when I talk about juggling balls, you should know that there are special balls made just for juggling that jugglers use. These balls appear almost like normal rubber balls but they are in reality a lot different, when these balls hit the hands after falling they do not bounce like normal rubber balls, in fact they feel and act more like beanbags, and they are not perfectly round like normal balls.

This non-bounce effect makes juggling balls, a lot easier to use then normal rubber balls. You can search the internet because there are some great sources to buy a 3 pack of professional juggling balls for under $10 total. Now lets say you have the 3 juggling balls, so how do you learn to juggle? Juggling is so easy to master that you would probably not believe it, if you knew the truth. You simply start by throwing one ball from one hand, up into the hair about head level and letting it land into the other hand, then reversing this process, once you master the simply one ball technique, you advance to 2, then 3.... and before you know it, you are juggling like a professional.

There you have it, so if you really want to beat the winter blues this season, simply buy yourself some juggling balls and learn juggling. Just search the internet and you will find numerous sites that show you the motions of juggling step by step, and how easily it is done. This will turn all them boring and cold winter days into days of fun.

Before we get going, I want to explain what is meant by ' website articles '. As an example, a person who has a website about dogs, may hire a writer to write 5 or 6 reports of information, also called ' website articles ', about certain breeds of dogs, dog health, homemade dog foods, or other things pertaining to dogs. Once the articles are done, and approved, the website owner pays the writer his or her, fees for writing the articles, and the articles then become the property of the website owner, to do with as they see fit.

Usually the website owner, who paid to have the articles written will submit the finished articles to other websites that are called ' article websites '. Visitors to these websites, read the articles, and at the end of them there will be a link, usually to the website owners website. The articles are read over months and even years, and they can bring the website owner a lot of traffic or visitors.

Sometimes, the website owners will keep the articles and just use them as ' website content ', or reading material for a website they are making. Very rarely do website owners write their own articles or content, they just don't have the time, so they hire writers who research and write the material for them. These writers are usually not professional writers at all, in fact most of them do not even speak English the best, because many are in Pakistan, India, or some other foreign country.

Here's where you can make some good money, by becoming a writer of ' website articles ' and ' website content '. Don't worry about the two terms, basically as far as you are concerned, as the writer, it's just an article that is needed, it's up to the website owner, whether they use it for an article or content. Your probably thinking, that you don't have the skills to write an article, that is needed by a website owner, so let me ask you some questions.

Do you like Fishing, or Hunting, or do you play sports, or like walking ? Can you do any automobile repairs yourself ? Can you do any household repairs like replace fixtures, cabinets, spackle, paint, or do wiring or any other repairs ? Can you sew, knit, crochet ? Can you play an instrument ? Do you have a dog or cat, how about some goldfish, or tropical fish ? Do you have any skills ? Do you have any Degrees ? If you answered yes, to even one of these questions, then you can make some money, and depending on the amount of time, you want to spend, you can make a lot of money, writing articles.

There are websites that you can join for free as a job seeker or freelancer, who is looking for work. Once you join a couple of the sites, browse the jobs or projects and when you find a project that is about a subject that you are familiar with, or one that you want to research and write about, contact the employer who posted the project, and maybe you can get started today as writing articles for fun and profit, it's not only a great way to make some extra money, it's a great way to help shake the winter blues.

A lot of people think about getting a bird as a pet, but sometimes they make a mistake and choose the wrong type of bird, only to regret their decision and end up selling or giving the bird away later. Usually the reasons for regretting the type of bird chosen, is the noise the bird makes or the amount of time and other needs that one must devote to the bird. Birds that can be very noisy at times are Cockatiels and Parrots, back in the 1990's my wife and I bought a cockatiel, it used to drive me nuts with it's sharp piercing screams, and whistles.

When I was a child my Grandmother used to have two birds in a cage, and they were two of the nicest birds anyone could have, in fact they are the perfect birds for pets when it comes to most people, the bird I am talking about is a canary.

Canaries are not large birds, in fact they are about the size of a skinny robin. They do not holler or shriek like some bird do, instead they like to sing, and when they sing it's a nice pleasant tune that anyone would love to hear. Male canaries seem to sing better then females, so you may wish to select a male if you decide to purchase one as a pet. Unlike some other species of birds, canaries are almost always antisocial when it comes to being around other canaries and humans, so if you just get one, it will often do better, then if it had a companion. This again, makes it an ideal pet, since you only need to purchase and care for one.

It's been said that canaries can be trained to talk or mimic a few words, but the ones my Grandmother had never talked, but they did sing like wondrous songbirds. If you are more interested in a bird that will sit on your shoulder and talk, then you might better invest in a parrot. A canary is a hearty bird, and they will survive just fine inside a normal home or apartment in the winter, if the place has heating and is comfortable for humans, it will be comfortable for the canary.

A canary should have as large a cage as possible, although the cage my Grandmother had was a normal or small size cage, and she had two canaries in it that lived for years. A canary likes to fly around as much as possible, and a large cage gives them room to do so, flying is also the only way the bird can exercise and stay fit. But if you cannot afford a large cage, don't worry about it, just buy what you can.

You can buy a couple small bird safe toys for your canary if you wish, my Grandmother had a small bell attached towards the top of her cage, every once in awhile one of her canaries would peck at it, and seemed the birds enjoyed hearing the bell ring, also she had a small mirror fastened to one side of the cage, often one of her birds would sit and look at it's self in the mirror.

Canaries like to sleep when the sun goes down, and wake when it comes up, so if possible, cover your birds cage at night, by draping an old towel or such, over the top of it, and turn off any lights in the room where your canary lives. Canaries need fresh clean water daily, and they survive just fine on a container of standard canary food that is available at most pet stores.

If you treat your canary well, they can live upwards of 15 years, although 10 years seems to be the normal life span. Raising a canary as a pet, can be very exciting and it is one of the easiest birds to keep as a pet, your canary will give you lots of fun over the winter season and all year around, and it's a great way to help fight the winter blues.

    *********************** ARTICLE START ***********************

Global Warming or global climate change has been in the news for about a decade now with governments and corporations cooperating to reverse the greenhouse effect of trapping more heat that gradually increase surface temperatures. These gasses are mostly from human activity resulting from the use of fossil fuels in cars, coal-fired power plants, heating systems from fuels or natural gasses and appliances that release CO2.

Deforestation contributes to the problem as increasingly less CO2 are converted to oxygen. Not only does increased CO2 traps heat, it also traps methane gasses that occur naturally with decomposing organic waste from garbage landfills and decaying plants and dead animals as well as the processing of fossil fuels.

Scientific statistical data shows that the last 150 years of the industrial age saw the increase of CO2 by 31% and over the same period, atmospheric methane rose by 151%. The consequence is increased heat being trapped in the atmosphere with less escaping into space. The phenomenon alters climates and weather patterns that cause severe and more frequent storms, coastal flooding from a melting polar ice cap and the prolonging draughts and winters.

But is this just a hoax?

Recent developments have alleged a "Climategate" conspiracy that exposes the global warming scare as a fraudulent attempt on a global scale by corporations and governments in collusion with dishonest scientists. In November last year, the interest was aflame with news of an earth-shaking scandal from leaked emails and data from the Climatic Research Unit (CRU) of the University of East Anglia in the UK that has served the primary source and advocacy on the theory of Global Warming and served the motive guidance behind the UN's Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC).

The leaked information from download files showed more than 4000 documents that abundantly point to a falsification of data used by scientists to support of the Global Warming scare. These documents have been authenticated and provided clear evidence of a conspiracy further fueled by the CRU's repeated refusal to release their computer model data for the basis of the Global Warming theories they have foisted on unsuspecting governments, people and industries.

    Who Benefits?

The debate is now simmering and has polarized the scientific community on the issue. The bottomline seems to be, who will benefit if it's a hoax? The Global warming scare has effectively put car makers to come out with new hybrid non-carbon-emitting vehicles. It has compelled oil companies to look for alternative power sources and has certainly impacted our lifestyles with impositions on our consuming habits and to use more earth-friendly products. There's big money involved, no doubt. On the other hand, if global warming is a fraud, the big oil companies would be the first to benefit as they can continue spewing CO2 into the atmosphere. Time to pause and think.

There is a website that describes Global Warming and numerous other topics of interest such as conspiracies, secret technology, ufos, secret weapons research, bible end times predictions and many other such subjects, this website is called: The Great Deception and it may be found at this url: http://www.great-deception.com

Now, if this is true and you find yourself in the winter with nothing to do, and you need an idea to help shake the winter blues, why not take up a great hobby like making bird houses for Finche's. Making bird houses is not only easy it's also fun, and if you don't want to keep and use the bird houses for yourself, you can give them away as gifts or even make some extra money selling them at craft shows, yard sales or online.

The design for a Finch bird house can be as detailed as your imagination, or as simple as a shoebox shape made out of wood, and turned to hang or stand on end. There are just a few things you will need to make Finch bird houses; wood, a good weather resistant wood works fine in a size of around 3/4 inch thick. Some people use plywood that's been treated for outdoors use, while others stay away from treated lumber, saying the chemicals can harm the birds, I have made bird houses from treated plywood for years, and have never seen any harmful effects done to the birds that make their homes in them, the choice of wood is up to you.

You will also need a nice saw to cut the wood with, either a power saw or a good wood cutting hand saw works fine, a vise to hold your wood securely while cutting it, ruler or tape measure to measure your wood pieces, and either your choice of nails, screws or wood glue to secure the pieces of wood together, you will also need either a jigsaw or a hole saw attachment for a drill, to make the entrance hole for the Finche's.

Cut out and assemble your Finch bird house like you are making a narrow shoebox, it should have 4 sides, and a top and bottom, some people make the roof slanted so the rain will easily fall off, while some folks just leave the roofs flat and use a waterproof cover or coating to repel the elements, again the choice is yours on how elaborate you want to make the Finch bird houses. The one thing you should add are a few small holes in the bottom for more ventilation and to allow any rain that enters the entrance hole from a blowing storm, or melting snow, to drain properly. The average size most designers cut the entrance hole depends on the type of Finche's in their region, you want a hole that's just big enough for an adult Finch to enter, and yet stops larger aggressive intruders. Again, you can search the internet for a little more information on the entrance hole sizes.

Once you have your Finch house done, you can fasten a wire hanger onto it, or create a pole type hanger, the choice is up to you. You can paint the bird house in any color or style you want. Making Finch bird houses is not just a great hobby for fun and possibly earning some extra money, it's also a great way to help shake the winter blues.

If you find yourself dreading the rapid approach of winter this year, or you are reading this article during the winter, then you must be someone who suffers from the winter blues, since that is what the title of this article is about. The winter blues can be everything from just a general lack of energy or desire, to full blown depression. One of the major culprits that cause the winter blues is folks often find themselves stuck inside on the them cold winter days with nothing to do.

First of all, a person with nothing to do, is what I would consider a very lucky person, but that's just me thinking that way. I often wish there was a lot more hours in the day, to get things done, and so don't most other people, in fact a lot of us don't have time to get the winter blues. If you do find the winter blues creeping in your life this season, why not take up an activity to help shake it, like home beer brewing.

You can legally brew your own beer in almost every state of the USA, for personal or family use, except 3 states currently as of this articles writing, the 3 states where home brewing is illegal are Oklahoma, Alabama and Mississippi. Even in states where it is legal, you should be safe instead of being sorry later, by contacting your local authorities first and ask them if you can make homemade beer where you live.

Making homemade beer or home brewing as it's often called is not as hard as most people think, in fact there are thousands of people across the USA that make their own beer on a regular basis. Some folks home brew just for the fun of doing it, others brew because they can make beer cheaper then buying it, and still others brew their own beer because they can alter the amounts of some ingredients and add different ingredients to give the beer a different taste and color.

I am not going to go into the instructions of home brewing or the details of the items and ingredients you will need to home brew your own beer, because the simplest and safest way to get into this fascinating activity is to simply purchase a home brewing kit. The home brewing kits cost anywhere's from $29 to $499 on average, and the kits include almost everything you need to make your own batch of beer with. The only thing some of the cheaper kits do not come with are the bottles, which you can purchase at most stores which sell the kits. This winter on them cold, snowy days when you have nothing to do, start brewing your own beer and have a blast doing it, it's not only exciting, it's also a great way to shake the winter blues.

What Is The Difference In Credit Card Types ?

There are credit cards for everyone, I will explain two major differences between them so you will understand.

    Secured Credit Cards:

A credit card secured by a savings account that has been established in advance by the borrower. The amount in the account usually determines the limit on the credit card. These accounts present no real risk factor for creditors and are therefore much easier to obtain. The required savings deposit for a secured card may range from a few hundred to a thousand dollars or more. Your credit line is a percentage of your deposit, typically 50 to 100 percent. Usually, a bank will pay interest on your deposit. In addition, you also may have to pay application and processing fees -- sometimes totaling hundreds of dollars. Before you apply, be sure to ask what the total fees are and whether they will be refunded if your denied a card. Typically, a secured card requires an annual fee and has a higher interest rate than an unsecured card.

    Unsecured Credit Cards:

Unsecured credit cards require no deposit to acquire. They are given based upon the applicants high credit score.

    Credit Card Terms ?

There are numerous credit card terms, and you should understand them, because not knowing what they mean, can be costly. Here is a list of the important ones and a summary of each:

    Over The Limit Fee:

Some credit card companies charge you if your purchase exceeds your credit balance. Instead of the purchase being denied, it may be approved. But the next time your monthly bill arrives, you may be hit with a charge of an extra $20 or even more! This charge will probably be on each additional bill, until your balance is again within the

    normal credit limit.

    Late Fee:

This is a charge you will be hit with, if your payment is not received and processed by the payment due date. This can be $20 or more a month.

    Minimum Payment:

This is the amount you must pay to keep the card from going into default. If you fail to make the minimum payment, you can be hit with a monthly 'late fee', just as if you failed to make any payment.

    Annual Fee:

Some credit card companies charge an annual membership fee. This extra charge can range from $20 to $100 or more. Once a year this fee is added to your total balance due.

Why do some folks dislike the winter time with such a hatred? Is it the snow, the cold, the slippery sidewalks, or is it something else they truly hate, and that is getting the winter blues because they always think there's nothing to do. I have always loved the winter time, from when I was a kid to my present age, I don't care much for the cost of the rising heat bill each year, but as far as the beauty of the winter scenery, I think it's wonderful, truly a gift from God.

When you find yourself with nothing to do during them cold winter months, why not take up a great hobby like coin collecting, it's not only fun, it's also a great way to shake the winter blues. Now, since you are new or a beginner to coin collecting, and this is going to be done as a hobby to help shake the winter blues, I will be talking about the basics and how to enjoy coin collecting for very little money. The first thing to do, is to think about what types of coins you want to start collecting.

One of the nicest and cheapest ways to start collecting coins is by buying a coin folder, the ones that have pre-cut holes for the coins, you simply place the appropriate coin into it's respected slot or position in the album. You should start with a type of coin that is easy to find, and not super expensive to buy when it comes to the scarcer ones. I started by collecting Lincoln pennies, they were first minted or made in 1909 and are still made today, next I started collecting Jefferson Nickels.

The best thing about collecting pennies or nickels, or dimes is that, you can start filling in them empty spots in your folders, today at no cost. The easiest method to start collecting your coins is to search through your jars of change at home, and by checking the change in your pockets at the end of the day. The next way to acquire some more coins for your folders is to buy rolls from banks, then replace the coins you removed, with the change in your jars, turn these rolls in for more coins at another bank, and keep repeating the process.

After awhile you will be getting down to where you will not be able to find the coins you need to complete your folders with, in your change or from banks, because of their age and rarity. You may then want to join an online coin club, there are many reputable ones that offer coins on an approval service. They will send you certain coins once a month, and you simply select the ones you want to buy and keep, and the ones you don't want you just mail back to the company. What makes these monthly approval services great is, you can select the types of coins you wish to receive monthly, and the price you are willing to spend.

I still find wheat pennies and silver war nickels, and many pre 1960 nickels, and sometimes a silver coin in pocket change. A few years back, I was at a local store and got some change back, I noticed two of the quarters I received looked kind of white in color, examining them closely after I got back home, I discovered they were both pre 1964 silver Washington quarters. I figured somebody must of needed money to buy some cigarettes or milk or something, and must of used some of their old coins, I was just lucky enough to had been there at the right time and place to get them in my change.

After collecting coins for fun over the years, I now have almost every Lincoln cent that was made from 1909 to present, and I have every Jefferson nickel from the first one that was made in 1938 to present, and I have a nice sized wooden chest full of miscellaneous US coins, including silver dollars, mercury dimes, buffalo nickels, Large Cents and many more unique and rare coins. I figure the coins will make a nice gift someday, something to leave to my daughter or as a gift for my Grandchildren. The next time, you find yourself with nothing to do in the winter, starting looking through your change, and enjoy the wonderful hobby of coin collecting, it's a great way to help shake the winter blues.

In Seram of the Maluku Islands, also known as the Moluccas archipelago of Indonesia, lives a creature that has fueled both the curiosity and fear of the locals. Known as Orang Bati, or in Indonesian terms, the winged man, the creature resembles a human or giant ape with bat-like wings.

Historical accounts of Christian missionaries visiting the islands during the 15th to 16th century narrate how a winged monster has raided and terrorized the village of Uraur in Seram. The residents fear the creature, as it is known to abduct infants and children when it feeds at night. The monster is also said to raid nearby villages. According to these locals, the Orang Bati lives during the daytime on Mount Kairatu, a dormant volcano with a network of deep caves on the island of Seram.

The Orang Bati has an ape-like body, much like a human standing four to five feet tall, with red skin on its body. The creature has large black leathery wings and a long tail, compared to rhamphorhynchoid species of flying dinosaurs or pterosaurs. Some accounts describe the wings and tail as covered with thick black fur. Villagers often hear the Orang Bati's arrival by the sound of its shrill wail, similar to that of pterosaurs.

One of the most mentioned accounts of the Orang Bati were that of the English missionary named Tyson Hughes, who went to the Moluccas to help the villagers with their farming systems in 1987. At first the British man was skeptical about the Orang Bati and the stories the locals tell. During his 18 month mission, Hughes and the rest of his team admitted that the village tales were actually true.

Comparable creatures have been said to exist in nearby Southeast Asian and Pacific regions, such as Vietnam and the Philippines. Another version of the Orang Bati, called the ahool in Java, is described as possibly being a giant bat. The same description applies for residents of the Philippines, where they believe giant bats to be responsible for killing livestock in the villages. First thought to be flying monkeys, these versions of the Orang Bati could possibly be a cross between birds and bats, possibly even large eagles.

A similar large flying creature has also been sighted in several regions around the world. In these accounts, however, the creature is not mammalian nor does it resemble humanoid forms. Paleontologists, or those who study prehistoric animals, find that these creatures resemble the flying dinosaurs, so they are more reptilian or avian rather than mammal.

The kongomato of Zambia in Central Africa have been described as large flying animals with reddish complexion and with wings covered in leathery skin. The kongomato was also sighted in Rhodesia, Angola, and the Congo. In Papua New Guinea, however, this creature's name is ropen, which means flying demon in the vernacular. Accounts from the natives claim that the ropen also eats human flesh.

There is a website that describes the Orang Bati and numerous other creatures of Cryptozoology in detail, this website is called: Unknown Creatures and it may be found at this url: http://www.unknown-creatures.com

Article Title: 6 Things That we Have to Consider Before Buying a Bird

    *********************** ARTICLE START ***********************

What to start with when considering a bird?

First we have to consider the following :

What kind of bird can I afford?

The price of on parrot varies in large bounds in dependence with the species. You can buy for example a budgie for less than 10 $. The price of the cockatiel varies between 25 and 35 $. An Amazonian parrot and grey parrot can be purchased for about 300 – 400$, cockatoo for 1,000 $...... and the price of some parrots reaches $15,000! This is one of the initial questions which you have to answer.

How much space will the bird need?

Larger birds and even some of the small ones are very active physically and need big cages and space in which to play. Take the time to accurately measure possible locations for a bird cage and the available bird cage sizes first.

Is there any free time for the bird?

Probably this is the most important question. Birds are intelligent, playful and mostly " social " creatures. Will you have time to play with your bird? To care properly of it? Will it have the chance to be a part of your family? Consider the fact that birds live fairly long. A small parrot cockatiel lives for 20 years and more! Amazona or African grey parrot can live for 50, 60 and there are documented cases for birds that lived up to the respectable age of 100 years! Can you devote to this? It is not unusual to inherit birds for previous generations. Don't buy a bird if you think that you will soon get bored of it.

If you do find that the bird is getting lonely from not enough social time spent with it you could get it a partner. However, by doing so the bird will tend to bond less with its human owners if not at all.

How noisy is the bird? Will the neighbors murmur?

Budgies and cockatiel are comparatively quiet. They are suitable to look after in a flat. Moluxco cockatoo could live in flat just if you have neighbors around you and six floors above / below you that like listening screams to cracking their ear - drums. The African grey parrot tends to be one of comparatively non-noisy parrots. Certainly, there are individual differences between birds. Somewhere there could be cockatoo, that don ' t make noisy to heaven. If really there could be found such, an enterprising person could make a fortune of it. Remember that noise is a subjective and relative sensation. A bird can be considered as "non-noisy " only at the background of another one, considered as noisy.

How "destructive" could a bird be?

Do you possess peerless old furniture? Rare books? Remember that these birds have strong beaks,. Some of them are less inclined to " nibbling " than others, but nibbling is completely natural behaviour for them. Your local pet shop will have toys that the bird can play with.

Does the parrot need special food?

Lory parrots, for example, need a specialized diet. Do you have an opportunity and means to provide it? Once you have made a preliminary investigation and have decided what kind of parrot you want, you can go looking for it and buy it. NEVER, NEVER BUY A PARROT IMPULSIVELY!

There are many different factors that go into outfitting your new coffee shop. You will have to think about the shop's decor, seating arrangements and menu design, just to name a few. But if you plan on selling coffee as your main beverage then you will want to take extra care when choosing a coffee maker and buy the best one that you can afford.

A standard coffee maker that you pickup at Wal-Mart is not going to be enough for your shop. You are going to need a commercial coffee maker that can brew gallons of tasty coffee every hour. You never want your customers to be waiting in line just because your coffee brewer can not keep up with the demand. Many people trust Bunn Commercial Brewers as their main workhorse in the kitchen and with good reason. They have a reputation for durability, quality and the price is cheap when compared to all of the use that you will get out of it. It is important to get a well known brand for other reasons as well. Some of the lesser known coffee brewers are hard to find parts and filters for. If you break the carafe in a Bunn Commercial Brewer then you can easily have it replaced and in many cases the same filters are shared between different models. The Bunn brand has been around for a long time and you will not need to worry about them going away any time soon.

Here are some common features that Bunn offers that you will want to look for in your brewer:

    • All stainless steel construction for easy clean up

    • Large capacity with a minimum of 2-3 gallons

    • Can accept a thermal carafe up to 8 inches tall

    • Splashguard funnels that will direct the hot liquid away from your hands

Another feature that Bunn offers is a double brewer where you can brew two air pots of coffee at the same time. This is a necessity to be able to keep up with demands in the busy mornings at a coffee shop. Bunn brews coffee consistently from the temperature to the same liquid amount of coffee that fills your pot each time.

The hardest part of running a coffee shop is finding suppliers that you can depend on. Whenever possible you should buy your hardware and coffee supplies from the same vender each time. They will have the research and experience in the field to recommend the items that you need and explain which ones are best for your shop. Once you have that relationship in place you can focus on the day to day operations of your business. Everything Coffee & Tee is a well known supplier in the Atlanta Area but service the whole Southeast including Tennessee, Alabama, North Carolina and South Carolina. They are members of the Specialty Coffee Association of America and are dedicated to staying current with industry trends as well as educating themselves on your needs.

    *********************** ARTICLE START ***********************

How often do you find yourself stuck in the house on them cold winter days, suffering from the winter blues? I bet you said quite often, if you did then your answer is like that of most people during the winter months. I want you to stop right now and think about what you just read, if you do find yourself stuck in the house during the winter with nothing to do, you should consider yourself very lucky. Most people are always complaining that they don't have enough time in the day to get things done. So, according to a lot of folks, if you have nothing to do in the winter because your stuck inside, you are indeed a very lucky person.

Now, if this is true and you find yourself in the winter with nothing to do, and you need an idea to help shake the winter blues, why not take up a great hobby like making bird houses for Doves. Making bird houses is not only easy it's also fun, and if you don't want to keep and use the bird houses for yourself, you can give them away as gifts or even make some extra money selling them at craft shows, yard sales or online.

The design for a Dove bird house can be as detailed as your imagination, or as simple as a shoebox shape made out of wood, and turned to hang or stand on end. There are just a few things you will need to make Dove bird houses; wood, a good weather resistant wood works fine in a size of around 3/4 inch thick. Some people use plywood that's been treated for outdoors use, while others stay away from treated lumber, saying the chemicals can harm the birds, I have made bird houses from treated plywood for years, and have never seen any harmful effects done to the birds that make their homes in them, the choice of wood is up to you.

You will also need a nice saw to cut the wood with, either a power saw or a good wood cutting hand saw works fine, a vise to hold your wood securely while cutting it, ruler or tape measure to measure your wood pieces, and either your choice of nails, screws or wood glue to secure the pieces of wood together, you will also need either a jigsaw or a hole saw attachment for a drill, to make the entrance hole for the Doves.

Cut out and assemble your Dove bird house like you are making a narrow shoebox, it should have 4 sides, and a top and bottom, some people make the roof slanted so the rain will easily fall off, while some folks just leave the roofs flat and use a waterproof cover or coating to repel the elements, again the choice is yours on how elaborate you want to make the Dove bird houses. The one thing you should add are a few small holes in the bottom for more ventilation and to allow any rain that enters the entrance hole from a blowing storm, or melting snow, to drain properly. The average size most designers cut the entrance hole depends on the type of Doves in their region, you want a hole that's just big enough for an adult Dove to enter, and yet stops larger aggressive intruders, such as crows and hawks. Again, you can search the internet for a little more information on the entrance hole sizes.

Once you have your Dove house done, you can fasten a wire hanger onto it, or create a pole type hanger, the choice is up to you. You can paint the bird house in any color or style you want. Making Dove bird houses is not just a great hobby for fun and possibly earning some extra money, it's also a great way to help shake the winter blues.

Breeding dogs is an exciting experience. From the time a proper mate is found to the point that the puppies are born, it is crucial to take careful steps to make this successful.

Professional breeders do not breed frequently and will only do so when a pair is found to be healthy that will ensure the birth of healthy offspring.

The ideal breeder should have the pair of dogs tested for every possible disease as well as have all the information regarding the pair's ancestors and health records on file. Should a breeder find no problem in the history of the pair, then the process can begin.

Dogs normally come into heat twice a year which is every six months. Larger dogs can come into heat every eight or ten months which usually lasts about three weeks. Vaginal bleeding is a sure sign that the dog is in heat as well as swelling in the vulva.

A dog's pregnancy or gestation period lasts between 60 to 67 days. Most dogs give birth after 63 days.

The only way to determine the stage of the dog's pregnancy is by keeping the track of time from the day of the breeding. Keeping a record of this on file is advisable for reference purposes.

Exactly three weeks after breeding, the mother must be examined to confirm the pregnancy.

The dog must be given a formulated and premium brand of dog food for the duration of the pregnancy and throughout the nursing period preferably with strong nutritional foundation.

During pregnancy, the mother's food consumption will almost double compared to the pre-pregnancy level so increased feeding must be given to ensure that there is enough for both the dog and the puppies.

Behavioral changes are to be expected during this time. The dog will demand for more affection or may experience a few days of vomiting.

Later on, the expectant mother will search for a secure place to deliver the puppies. So, one must ensure that a proper place is ready when the time comes. An ideal place for an expecting mother is a box. Depending on the size of the dog, it must be spacious enough for the dog to move around and must have layers of newspaper inside it that will absorb birthing fluids. This should also have low sides for the mother to look outside and for the breeder to easily check if assistance is needed to make it easy to remove soiled papers without interrupting the mother and the newborn puppies.

    *********************** ARTICLE START ***********************

There has been a great deal of progress in the field of hair replacement and restoration in the past few years. Surgical techniques have improved greatly from the days when hair replacement first began. All hair replacement techniques involve the use of your own hair; therefore, hair replacement candidates must have some healthy hair, usually at the back and sides of the head. The process is a relatively safe procedure when performed by a qualified surgeon, however as with any surgery there are risks. Candidates must be checked for uncontrolled high blood pressure, blood-clotting problems, or skin that scars excessively, as these conditions may make healing difficult. Small pieces of hair growing scalp grafts are removed from areas of the scalp with healthy hair and are placed where hair is thinning. There are three major types of grafts: punch grafts, mini-grafts, and micro-grafts. Punch grafting takes about 10-15 hairs and places them in the scalp. This was the first type of technique to be developed, and when first developed caused a patchy look in many candidates. The technique has been improved since the first days of being developed, and the new mini-graft technique has also been added as an option. Mini-grafts contain only 2-4 hairs per graft, and therefore look much more natural. Micro-grafts are still smaller grafts that contain one to two hairs each. To maintain healthy circulation of the scalp, grafts are placed 1/8th of an inch apart. Local anesthesia is usually sufficient for these procedures, and several procedures are usually required to achieve the desired result. Post-surgery, a period of approximately 10 days of no sexual or strenuous activity is recommended, as strenuous activity may cause bleeding from the graft areas.

Of course surgery is a serious option, and often an expensive one as well. For those not wishing to undergo surgery for either reason, the option of non-surgical hair additions is often explored. Many professionals have developed techniques to add hair to existing hair on your scalp that look very natural. Weaves, fusions, bonding, cabling and micro linking are some of the techniques used to bond hair to the existing hair or scalp non-surgically.

Many jokes were made in the past about wigs and toupees, and they have gained an unfavorable light amongst many people because they were so obvious on the wearer. Today's toupees and wigs are often made of real hair and are very well styled, causing them to look ore natural on the wearer. These hairpieces are held in place by affixing adhesive to the scalp and stay in place through vigorous exercise. Of course you will need to seek a professionally made toupee in order to make it worth your while, and you should purchase at least two so that you can maintain them properly, servicing one while wearing the other. A professionally styled and fitted toupee is expected to cost upward of $600 to $1000 in today's market. Of course no one wants to go through the embarrassment of wearing the obvious "rug" on top of your head, so if you are not willing to spend the money it takes to purchase a professional toupee then it is probably best to not wear any hairpiece at all.

Structured hairpieces as they are called are a semi-surgical approach that permanently attaches hair to the scalp by stitching the hair to the bald scalp. This procedure is not recommended, as it is a process that involves introducing a foreign material to the scalp. Most ethical surgeons do not perform this procedure any longer as they are generally deemed to be ethically inappropriate. If this procedure is recommended to you, get a second opinion from a trusted physician.

A much safer procedure is hair weaving, yet this can only be used if hair is thinning and large balding areas are not present. The process is also called hair intensification or hair integration. Strands of synthetic or real hair are braided or weaved into your own existing hair giving an appearance of a full head of hair. This procedure does have its drawbacks, because it can make the scalp difficult to access, interfering with proper hair and scalp maintenance necessary for the health of your remaining natural hair, and this method can also stress existing hair since the artificial hair introduced through weaving is attached to it. This method is usually expensive, costing several thousand dollars per application, and being that because of the aforementioned drawbacks it can only be left in for a few weeks at a time it is usually impractical for the average person.

It is highly recommended that one seek professional assistance with these procedures from licensed beauticians or barbers, and have a patch test done to the skin if using adhesives to test for skin sensitivities. Extra care must be taken to maintain cleanliness of the hair and scalp when wearing added hair in order to maintain the health of existing hair and the scalp in general. Of course, if you are undergoing chemotherapy or are in the early stages of diagnosed alopecia areata then these procedures should be avoided as the hair they are connected to is likely to fall out as well. Either waiting for a period of time or obtaining a full prosthesis is recommended in these cases.

Yet still there is another type of treatment which is a spray of micro fibers made up of the same substance that hair is made of: keratin. If your hair is simply thinning, while you are investigating a more permanent solution to your hair loss problems or in the process of employing a particular process that takes some time, you can use these substances to cosmetically produce the appearance of thicker and fuller hair. The substance is marketed under several different names, one such being Topik®. Being a temporary solution it is relatively inexpensive, and can provide some immediate aesthetic results to bolster confidence and optimism as you work on more permanent solutions.

    *********************** ARTICLE START ***********************

The Nain Rouge is a creature that haunts Detroit, Michigan and several other parts of the US. The Nain Rouge is feared by residents as the 'harbinger of doom'. Every time it shows itself terrible events seem to always happen. It appears as a child like creature with red and black fur. With its piercing red eyes and rotting teeth the sight of it clearly scares or enrages all that see it.

The word Nain Rouge comes from a French word that mean red dwarf. It's awkward red face, cold shimmering eyes and protruding teeth makes the Nain Rouge scary not only in its conveying of bad luck but also with its frightful face.

In 1701 the Nain Rouge was attacked by Antoine de la Mothe Cadillac and his fate took a turn for the worst. He suffered emotionally and physically when he lost all his fortune. The battle of the Bloody Run was said to happen right after the appearance of the Nain Rouge. In this battle 59 British soldiers died at the hands of Native Americans from the Chief Pontiac Tribe.

The great 1805 fire which destroyed most of Detroit was preempted by several sightings of the Nain Rouge. William Hull claimed to have seen a red dwarf right before the Detroit surrender in the war of 1812.

Between 1884 and 1976, several sightings or attacks from the Nain Rouge were said to have happened right before immensely tragic events that have been recorded in history.

According to a Michigan Believer, in autumn of 1996 two men said that they heard a cawing sound just like a crow from a small man that seemed to be hunched over as he fled the scene of a car burglary. They said he looked like he had a badly torn fur coat.

The presence of mythical creatures should not be shrugged at. Architecture, literature and even history record their existence. Why then would there be so many similar stories about them from different decades if they truly were just figments of man's imagination.

To this day the idea of seeing the Nain Rouge brings fear to those that know of its sinister claim on events and its existence. To merely try to forget or deny the existence of this creature is a complete irony of what the norms of our world dictates. We believe and even study events in history that historians feel are significant and have helped mold our modern world.

Significant people and events that have had first hand experiences with the Nain Rouge profess of their uncanny fate right after seeing the Nain Rouge. Will the Nain Rouge have to show its peculiar face today for all mankind to believe? Pray that this isn't the case, because, as history shows us and somehow warns us, whenever the Nain Rouge decides that it is time once more to show itself, then fear, pain, suffering and an unbecoming event will surely follow.

There is a website that describes the Nain Rouge and numerous other creatures of Cryptozoology in detail, this website is called: Unknown Creatures and it may be found at this url: http://www.unknown-creatures.com
