Do you remember getting the winter blues as a child? I can almost guarantee that you cannot. The reason you did not get the winter blues as a child was because you loved the winter as much as spring and summer. What happened? You got older and found yourself a lot more in demand, you now have a job and you may be a parent or spouse. Now, what you have to do is to learn to use all of these demands as an avantage.
When you find yourself home during them cold days or evenings, why not use this time to learn to speak a new language, like Chinese. The most extensive way to learn Chinese is to take a class at a local School or College, if this is not something you can do, then your next step may be to try a computer software learning tool. If you want to start picking up a few words and simple phrases the easy way, there are a few methods you can use that will help. Chinese, like any foreign language can be learned a little at a time.
One of the easiest ways to start learning a new language like Chinese is to start by using everyday situations and items that are all around us. A lot of folks do not even understand the power of these things, and the ability they have to allow anyone to learn a new language. Here are some things you can use in your daily life, to start learning a little Chinese, the easy way.
Turn the TV onto one of the many Chinese stations that are available on the satellite channels, this is a great way to start picking up some common words, greetings and phrases. Browse the Internet and use it's resources: The Internet has numerous free sources to help you learn Chinese. You can visit GOOGLE and use it's free translator tool. Here you can enter words or phrases and have them translated into Chinese.
Go to a Chinese area of your city, or town, where a lot of people speak Chinese, and listen to some conversations, this is a great way to pick up some words while hearing the correct way to pronounce them. Another great resource is to purchase Children's Books that are written in Chinese, books with plenty of pictures are perfect, as the words on each page usually relate to the pictures or scenes being shown. The next time you find yourself with nothing to do during the cold months, why not broaden your mind by learning to speak some Chinese, it's a great way to help shake the winter blues.

It will be winter again before we know it! I am so happy, I cannot wait! What did you think, about what you just read? Do you feel the same way about winter time as I do? If you are like the average person, you probably thought this guy is wacko, or something. It's just that I have enjoyed every season since I was a young child, to me they each have great things, and nothing is worse in one season over the other.
I hear folks grumble in the summer about the heat and sweating, and in the winter I hear these same folks talking about the cold and over eating. It's like anything really, some folks tend to stay pretty happy all year around, while others tend to be sad and depressed all year round, life is how you make it, and how you react to situations that happen, no matter how tragic they are. Now, I better stop rambling here, because I am probably starting to sound like a therapist and I am getting off the topic of this article, which is: How to Beat the Winter Blues by Entering and Winning Sweepstakes.
I want to write the bulk of this article about my Dad, because it was him who gave me the idea for this articles title. I believe it was in the 1970's when my Dad, started entering sweepstakes. My Dad and my Mother subscribed to a few magazines, and almost every month there would be a couple different types of sweepstakes listed in these magazines. The prizes for these sweepstakes varied from luggage, cars, fishing equipment, vacation packages, cash and everything else that you can think of. Dad started cutting the sweepstake entry forms out of the magazines, filled them out and send them in.
It wasn't too long until Dad won a prize, maybe it was a T-Shirt, or a Camera, I cannot remember what that first winning prize was after all these years, and Dad has gone to live with the Lord Jesus Christ in Heaven, so I cannot currently ask him. It only took that one win to get Dad hooked, now when I say hooked, I don't mean addicted, he just enjoyed and took upon himself to study sweepstakes as a worker does to become more and more skilled at his craft. Dad started reading the entry forms closely, and realized that the forms in the magazines were just a one time entry method. I mean, most people tore or cut out the magazine entry form, filled it out, and mailed it in and that was it. Dad, realized that although some sweepstakes did state, only one entry per person, many of them had a more obscure method that allowed a person to greatly increase their chances of winning, by submitting as many entries as you wanted.
The standard method used was to write your name, address, telephone number, and maybe a slogan, or some other required info, on a plain 3x5 index card, or a plain 3x5 piece of paper, and mail it in. It seems most of these entry forms stated write the info in BLOCK letter format, which simply meant write it in simple, easy to read, capital letters. Dad, started subscribing to 3 or 4 monthly sweepstake newsletters, and he would sit at his desk in his spare time, writing more entry forms then a seasoned author writes on a book manuscript. Dad purchased some books, and video tapes on winning sweepstakes, and honed his skills more and more.
Dad learned that there were methods to greatly increase your sweepstake winnings, besides just sending in more entries, there were certain times to send in your entries, and other methods, for instance writing on the envelopes in bright colors, may get your envelope selected from the bin of entries. Whatever skills Dad learned, proved their worth, because he literally won hundreds of prizes over the years. Some of the prizes he won were; Luggage, Shirts, Caps, Cash in the form of Checks, Grocery Items, Dishes, Books, Small Appliances, and even a brand new Automobile, over the years, Dad won almost every prize imaginable.
It got to the point that it made buying Birthday and Christmas presents for Dad, pretty easy, because he was always wanting; Postage Stamps, 3x5 plain index cards or paper, Felt tip markers, and plain Business size envelopes, to enter his sweepstakes with. Dad never got addicted, but he sure was hooked, and he had fun doing it, but he always made sure his bills got paid first, and his family duties had top priority over his sweepstake time and spending. As the years passed by, and the cost of buying postage stamps increased more and more, it got harder and harder for Dad to enjoy his hobby. To this day whenever I see a sweepstake form in a magazine, I think of Dad, cutting and filling out the form, and mailing it in.
Today with the internet, Dad and anyone can enter literally thousands of sweepstakes for free, by simply filling out an online form, and clicking the send button. The age of spending a fortune on cards, envelopes and postage stamps is about over for the bulk of those that love entering sweepstakes, but the joy of winning and the passion of the hobby is still there. This winter when you find yourself stuck inside with nothing to do, try an online search for free sweepstakes, start entering, and have fun doing it, you never know, you may get a certified letter soon, stating you won a major prize, anyway, it's a great activity to help beat the winter blues.

There was a time when the end of the world was conceived by doomsayers as the mutual destruction between nations firing nuclear missiles at each other, notably between the USSR and the US. But that was before the iron curtain collapsed, the Berlin Wall demolished and the USSR now a capitalist democracy with China a practical communist capitalist.
While the threat of a nuclear strike is still there, it amounts considerably less from potential terrorists getting hold of a nuclear bomb or developing one. Nothing of the scale contemplated in a nuclear war.
But the threat of global destruction and even extinction remains from newer technologies that carry as much lethal force but outside of nuclear fission. One of them is the technology that, like nuclear power, has the potential to rid mankind of weather-borne calamities like cyclones and hurricanes, or destroy the ionosphere so thoroughly that puts current concerns about the ozone layer seem like a child's issue. A hole on the thin Ionospheric layer opens the earth to deadly cosmic energy and solar winds that can now fry the entire human race into cinders.
The key to that technology rests on genius of Bernard Eastlund, an American who, in the mid-80s, discovered the electromagnetic equivalent of the "death ray." It has been clandestinely researched and developed by the US Pentagon under a seemingly harmless publicly-funded military project called HAARP - High Frequency Active Aurora Ionospheric Research program.
The project is in fully functional in Gakuna, Alaska where as revealed by satellite photos, have large phased array computer controlled antenna grids that can focus powerful radio beams anywhere on earth.
How does it work:
Eastlund's technology involves beaming microwave-like High Frequency (HF) and Extremely High Frequency (EHD) with a power magnitude over a billion watts into the ionosphere to essentially cool it to cause a "lens" effect from which a second volley of electromagnetic frequencies can be reflected to any point beyond the horizon to devastate a target on demand, within seconds.
This targeting has unparalleled precision than any nuclear strike as it takes into computational account complex mathematical variables like the rotation of the earth, curvature at point of impact, angle of reflection and other dynamic factors that only a supercomputer like Cray or EMASS can do.
To date, the projects has taken other patents up is sleeve that allows the following:
Detonation of remote nuclear sites in enemy countries even before launch;
Destroying nuclear missiles while enroute to their targets by beaming the EHF to alter the Ionospheric condition to induce atmospheric disturbance and drag to destroy the missile.
Ability to destroy the world's communications network but using the same technology to enable a communication network by the part deploying it.
Tomographic scanning ability to penetrate deep within the earth to identify enemy caves-hideouts, munitions depots and destroying them by simply changing the frequency of the electromagnetic radiation.

The best way to get tickets to the Grand Ole Opry is to buy them on the website early. This means that you can get the best tickets that are up close to the action and you can really see all that is going on. If you wait until you are actually in Nashville to buy your tickets for the Grand Ole Opry you may find yourself out of luck or else in the very back. Anywhere you sit in the Grand Ole Opry is a great place, but the best view is up close!
Any time of year is a great time to visit the Grand Ole Opry, but if you visit during non traditional vacation times you are sure to have an easier time getting tickets not to mention you won't need to deal with the crowds. But, the Grand Ole Opry isn't just country music. It is also a mix of gospel, comedy, bluegrass, today's hits and more. The Grand Ole Opry is located at the Grand Ole Opry House but was located for years in the Ryman Auditorium and before that in other locations in Nashville. The Grand Ole Opry has really been a success in Nashville and it is the best place to go if you are in Nashville !

How often do you find yourself stuck in the house on them cold winter days, suffering from the winter blues? I bet you said quite often, if you did then your answer is like that of most people during the winter months. I want you to stop right now and think about what you just read, if you do find yourself stuck in the house during the winter with nothing to do, you should consider yourself very lucky. Most people are always complaining that they don't have enough time in the day to get things done. So, according to a lot of folks, if you have nothing to do in the winter because your stuck inside, you are indeed a very lucky person.
Now, if this is true and you find yourself in the winter with nothing to do, and you need an idea to help shake the winter blues, why not take up a great hobby like making bird houses for Blue Jays. Making bird houses is not only easy it's also fun, and if you don't want to keep and use the bird houses for yourself, you can give them away as gifts or even make some extra money selling them at craft shows, yard sales or online.
The design for a Blue Jay bird house can be as detailed as your imagination, or as simple as a shoebox shape made out of wood, and turned to hang or stand on end. There are just a few things you will need to make Blue Jay bird houses; wood, a good weather resistant wood works fine in a size of around 3/4 inch thick. Some people use plywood that's been treated for outdoors use, while others stay away from treated lumber, saying the chemicals can harm the birds, I have made bird houses from treated plywood for years, and have never seen any harmful effects done to the birds that make their homes in them, the choice of wood is up to you.
You will also need a nice saw to cut the wood with, either a power saw or a good wood cutting hand saw works fine, a vise to hold your wood securely while cutting it, ruler or tape measure to measure your wood pieces, and either your choice of nails, screws or wood glue to secure the pieces of wood together, you will also need either a jigsaw or a hole saw attachment for a drill, to make the entrance hole for the Blue Jays.
Cut out and assemble your Blue Jay bird house like you are making a narrow shoebox, it should have 4 sides, and a top and bottom, some people make the roof slanted so the rain will easily fall off, while some folks just leave the roofs flat and use a waterproof cover or coating to repel the elements, again the choice is yours on how elaborate you want to make the Blue Jay bird houses. The one thing you should add are a few small holes in the bottom for more ventilation and to allow any rain that enters the entrance hole from a blowing storm, or melting snow, to drain properly. The average size most designers cut the entrance hole depends on the type of Blue Jays in their region, you want a hole that's just big enough for an adult Blue Jay to enter, and yet stops larger aggressive intruders. Again, you can search the internet for a little more information on the entrance hole sizes.
Once you have your Blue Jay house done, you can fasten a wire hanger onto it, or create a pole type hanger, the choice is up to you. You can paint the bird house in any color or style you want. Making Blue Jay bird houses is not just a great hobby for fun and possibly earning some extra money, it's also a great way to help shake the winter blues.

In today's competitive job market, employers relay on well-written resumes to screen potential candidates. In many instances, employers look through job search web sites, such as http://HotJobs.com or http://Monster.com, to find professionals with skills, education and experience that fit their needs. These employment search web sites, along with many companies' own online applications, require candidates to upload their resume in order to express interest in a specific opportunity. Without an opportunity to send a personal email, or a cover letter, you have to make sure that your resume expresses your personality in addition to listing your professional and educational experiences and achievements. To do so, you can include a professional profile or summary at the beginning of your resume that allows you to market yourself through a narrative. This section allows your potential employers to learn something unique about you and your career, as well as get a good feel of your communication skills.
To write an effective summary, you should first understand what information should not be communicated in your resume. While a summary provides an insight into what is unique and competitive about you, it is not a place for you to indicate any personal information that does not relate to your career. Information such as ethnicity, marital status, sexual orientation, religious beliefs and affiliations, etc. should be left out of your resume. While descriptive of who you are, this information is not relevant to your potential employer in order to pre-screen your qualifications for their opportunity. Additionally, the summary should not contain your previous professional experience, unless you can clearly demonstrate how such background can be of value in your future career development. Beware of generic statements, such as "I am well organized and detail oriented." Employers want to hear your unique voice and get a sense of your communication skills while reading the summary portion of your resume. Using generalizations about your abilities will make the employers believe that you are either a poor communicator or are using such statements to fill up space on your resume.
Your summary should be in form of a short paragraph or bulleted statements, containing only several sentences. There isn't a sentence limit, but as a rule do not take up more than one quarter of the page. Your summary should begin by a headline that summarizes your professional title and/or your professional statement. Emphasize your title by featuring the headline in bold and larger font, as it allows your potential employer to grasp who you are quickly. For example:

The 20th century is considered to be the most fateful of all centuries with its tragedies in two world wars, the rise of communism as well as the triumphs in technologies that remain unparalleled against all of man's existence in recorded history. It is also a period that saw the most prophetic apparitions ever made in a small Portuguese town of Fatima in 1917.
Much of the visions contained in three distinct secret messages known as the Three Secrets of Fatima have been revealed, notable the first two messages which predicted the 2nd World War and the doctrinal threat of Communist totalitarianism that engulfed Russia.
These have been committed to paper by the lone surviving visionary, Sister Lucia Santos and deposited in the Vatican at the time. They were revealed by the Pope John Paul II in 2000 though many dispute that the third secret was accurate.

It's snowing again outside, and it's wonderful! Well, to me and a lot of children it's wonderful. How often have you seen a child running to a window and peering out at the falling snow with a big smile and a pumpkin like face. Most children love snow and the more the better. I know when I was a child I certainly loved the snow and for two reasons, if often kept me home from School that day, and it made for a very fun day playing in it.
Now as we grow from children into adults we often stop playing in the snow and having such fun, especially if were males, since we have to act the tough and rugged way instead of showing emotions like a child's joy. Those that are lucky enough to have a playful spouse or children, know that this is a bunch of crap. Joy and having fun is something we all need to experience, a world without laughter and fun would not be a very nice place for anyone.
On them cold winter days if your an adult and you find yourself alone, bundle up in winter clothing and get outside and track animals for fun. Now this works for both those of you that live in the country or on the outskirts of a town. If you live right in a town or city, you won't be able to do it very well, unless you own property with a huge yard, some shrubs and trees where animals may hide.
Now, you will need some snow cover, not a big snow, just enough so that you can clearly see some fresh animal tracks in it. To make it more fun, take a digital camera with you. If you live in the country or some wilderness area, use common sense and don't go far from home or into some area, that you are not familiar with, as no one wants to get lost and especially in the winter time. When you find some fresh animal tracks near your residence, take a photo of them, do you recognize the type of animal that made the tracks?
Some neat animals to track, are deer, rabbits, squirrels, and opossums, as they are all out in the winter time. Make sure you recognize the types of animals in your area, because you don't want to track down an animal and have it be a cougar, bear or some other dangerous critter that may have you for dinner for following it. I used to love tracking rabbits in the snow for fun, and you can do the same or track different animals in your area.
If you don't have any such critters, why not track down a visiting cat or dog, to see where it went or came from, it's a neat little activity that will be fun, and it will help you to beat the winter blues.

Traveling to Houston, Texas whether for vacation or for business there are lots of different things to do and see. One of the most popular destinations in Houston, Texas is the NASA Johnson Space Center.
The Space Center is open from Monday-Friday 10 am – 5 pm and on weekends from 10 am – 7 pm. During the summer and holidays the hours are extended. The Space Center is located about 25 miles from downtown Houston at 1601 NASA Parkway.

There are audio tours available in English and Spanish as well as specialized tours for children. Learning the space history as you are touring the center is really incredible and makes the experience much better.
There are many attractions and exhibits including the Space Center Theatre, Blast Off Theatre, NASA Tour, the Astronaut Gallery, and Feel of Space, Starship Gallery, and the Kids Space Place . There really is something for everyone at the Space Center in Houston . There are many education programs as well. These include school visits, teacher programs, day camps, distance learning, space school, scout camp ins and education outreach.
When you are in Houston to visit the Space Center there are many places you can choose to stay. There are hotels, condos, and more for rent in Houston as well as in the surrounding areas that will allow you easy access to the Space Center as well as other destinations in and around Houston .

Desktop Sharing software and Online Meeting Tools sound like they have a similar purpose but they are very specific in their use.
Desktop Sharing software is used extensively in businesses that offer technical and computer support. It will allow a technician to work on the computer as if they are sitting in front of the monitor. The technician can install software, remove viruses, change settings and do anything else short of hardware replacement or repair of connectivity issues. Some people worry about a third party gaining access to their computer but it is quite safe. When someone is trying to connect to the computer, Desktop Sharing programs will ask the user for permission before allowing the connection. Now that they do not have to leave their office, they only have to schedule a block of time from the meeting beginning to its end with no wasted time and as many people as needed can attend the online meeting.
