The Metabolic Syndrome X (or just metabolic syndrome) is condition that is characterized by a group of risk factors found in one person that increases the chances of coronary heart disease, stokes, type 2 diabetes (adult-onset diabetes) and other related modern diseases. The underlying causes of this disease are poor nutrition, overweight/obesity, physical inactivity and genetic factors.
A person is considered to have metabolic syndrome if they have at least three of any of the characteristics below:
* Central obesity-- excessive fat tissue around the abdomen.
* High triglycerides (a bad type of fat in the blood)
* Low HDL cholesterol ("good" cholesterol.)
* Insulin resistance or glucose intolerance (high blood sugar levels)
* High blood pressure (130/85 mmHg or higher.)
* Proinflammatory state (predisposed to inflammation in the body on a cellular level.)
* Prothrombotic state (predisposed to blood clots.)
Metabolic Syndrome X is a disease that is plaguing the modern world. It's estimated that about 20–25 percent of adults in the United States have it, and the numbers are on the rise around the world.
These diseases were practically unknown to most of the world 100 years ago. (See Weston A. Price's classic book, "Nutrition and Physical Degeneration.") It has only been since processed foods have been introduced that these modern diseases have increased.
Help For Metabolic Syndrome X
The odds are that you or someone you are close to has metabolic syndrome. The best thing you can do is to educate yourself. Start living a healthier lifestyle. Exercise in moderation. Evaluate your diet. Stop eating processed foods-- avoid anything with white flour, white sugar, processed oils (especially hydrogenated oils!) and soy (unless it is fermented like miso or soy sauce).
Eat healthy organic meats and saturated fats like coconut oil and butter. The more we have cut those foods out, the faster the modern diseases characterized by metabolic syndrome have spread. Eat whole grains, and soak or sprout them for better digestibility. Try to go back to as much of a traditional diet as you can. Eat organic fruits and vegetables as much as possible. Supplement your diet with a daily dose of cod liver oil. This will give you a great start for fighting Metabolic Syndrome X.

Article Title: 7 Reasons Why A Network Marketing (MLM) Business Is The Best Kind Of Business To Own

*********************** ARTICLE START ***********************
A lot of people are down on network marketing businesses (also know as multi-level marketing or MLM), but I'd like to give you 7 reasons why a network marketing business is the best kind of business to own.
1. Your chances for success are better in network marketing.
Yes, some people fail at it. In MLM or network marketing, you will often find that 20% of the people are making 80% of the money. Do you know what? That is exactly the same as the church I belong to-- 20% of the people who attend are actively involved and do 80% of the work that needs to be done.
I'm not surprised that it is similar in MLM. People are people. Some of the people who fail at network marketing are not motivated, some aren't cut out for self employment, some are in the wrong company for them, and some are just not properly trained. But a motivated and trained person in a good company has a great chance of succeeding in their business.
On the other hand, if you start a "traditional" business your odds of success are much lower. According to the SBA, at least 50% of small businesses fail in their first year and 95% fail within the first five years. So, after 5 years of 12 hour days, in debt up to your eyeballs, you only have a 5% chance of succeeding. For some reason that just doesn't do it for me.
2. The costs are much less to get into a network marketing business.
Most network marketing companies ask for a monthly minimum order to keep an active distributor status, it is true. This is part of what keeps the machine running. It is part of the business operating costs. It may be as much as $100, depending on the company.
Now compare that to the costs of traditional business ownership, like rent, utilities, inventory, insurance, taxes, employees, marketing and advertising, and much more. I think you get the idea.
You don't have to be rich or go deep in debt to have your own home based network marketing business. It truly is an equalizer, giving everyone a fair chance at succeeding, no matter what the financial background or credit history is.
3. A network marketing business is simpler to run.
If you had your own business hopefully you could afford to hire an accountant and a secretary who would keep all your red-tape, paperwork, receipts, bookkeeping and such. If not, you would spend much of your time doing this.
With MLM, the company you are with handles most of the paperwork. You just need to keep your own financial records for your income taxes. This frees you up to spend your time and energy making money.
4. A network marketing business is easier to market and promote.
Most people who have their own "traditional" business are on their own when it comes to marketing and advertising. They usually try a little of everything to see if something will actually work. Often desperate business owners get taken in by slick sales people who promise results with their newest expensive advertising scheme.
A network marketing company has a proven marketing system that has been tested and used by many people. They will usually have their own marketing material that can be purchased at a lower cost because they can order in larger quantities.
5. You get the business training you need to succeed network marketing.
You don't need to know anything about business to be successful in MLM. Your company has done all the work and research. They often hire the best marketers in the business to help them develop a training program because really want you to succeed and will do everything in their power to help you.
In traditional business you have to find the training you need on your own.
6. With a home based network marketing business, taxes are on your side.
There are many deductions you can take with a home based network marketing business that will help you reduce your taxes.
On the other hand, the government (federal, state, and local) all seem to have it in for traditional small businesses. And if you have employees, you are really paying much more for them than their salary, as any employer can tell you.
7. Network marketing is the future.
Some people say that network marketing or MLM is a pyramid scheme. That is not true. A pyramid scheme is illegal because it doesn't work. There is no product, and thus no value to it. The people at the bottom put money in but the value doesn't flow down to them. It is a scam because only the people who got in at the top make any money. Most of the people get ripped off. A good example of this is chain letters or the airplane game.
A pyramid the natural shape of structure for all businesses, including governments. A network marketing organization is no exception. Network marketing is just a new way to distribute and market goods and services. It is the way of the future. Even many huge traditional companies see this and are jumping on board.
Are you ready to give it a try? There are a lot of great network marketing companies out there. Do some research and try find the company that is right for you.

There are now even more reasons for chocolate lovers to rejoice! As more amazing research news comes in about chocolate, the substance is moving from a bad-for-you candy to an important health food. Those of us who had always continued to indulge in occasional chocolate treats can stop feeling guilty and now easily justify our cravings.
You may have already heard that chocolate contains beneficial flavonoids and antioxidents. Flavonoids are naturally-occurring compounds found in plant foods that are full of recognized health benefits. There are more than 4,000 flavonoid compounds, which are a subgroup of a large class called polyphenols. Phenols are believed to help reduce the risk of heart disease by helping prevent atherosclerosis. The flavanols in chocolate appear to help the body use nitric oxide, which is crucial for healthy blood flow and blood pressure, which means that chocolate might help reduce hypertension as well.
Red wine is know for its high phenol content, but an average bar of dark chocolate contains more phenols than 8 ounces of red wine. Scientists at Cornell University and Seoul National University examined the cancer-fighting antioxidant content of hot cocoa, red wine, and tea, and found that cocoa had nearly double the antioxidants of red wine and four to five times more than tea.
Holland's National Institute of Public Health and Environment found that dark chocolate contains 53.5 mg of catechins per 100 grams. (Catechins are the powerful antioxidants that fight against cancer and help prevent heart disease). By contrast, a cup of black tea contains only about 14 mg of catechins and green tea has about 30 mg of catechins.
A study at University of California Davis found that participants who ate chocolate showed a reduction in platelet activity. This means that chocolate has an anti-clotting, blood-thinning effect that can be compared to aspirin.
A Harvard University study of 8,000, with an average age of 65, revealed that those who consumed chocolate lived almost a year longer than those who did not. Those who ate one to three candy bars per month had a 36 percent lower risk of death (compared to the people who ate no candy), while those who ate three or more candy bars per week had a 16 percent lower risk.
A study of older men in The Netherlands, known for its chocolate, showed that those who ate the most chocolate, an equivalent of one-third of a chocolate bar every day, had lower blood pressure and a 50 percent lower risk of death. The researchers also noted the men eating the most cocoa products were not heavier or bigger eaters than the men who ate less cocoa.
And it's not just dark chocolate that is the only healthy type of chocolate. Most studies talk about the benefits of dark chocolate, but some of the most recent news about chocolate includes good news for milk chocolate lovers, who have been left out in the past.
The Wheeling Jesuit University in West Virginia did a study that shows that milk chocolate seems to boost brainpower. The groups in the test consumed, on different occasions, milk chocolate, dark chocolate, carob and nothing. Then they were tested for cognitive performance including memory, attention span, reaction time, and problem solving.
According to Dr. Bryan Raudenbush, "Composite scores for verbal and visual memory were significantly higher for milk chocolate than the other conditions." The study also found that consumption of milk and dark chocolate was associated with improved impulse control and reaction time. It seems that by consuming chocolate you get stimulating effects from substances found in chocolate, such as theobromine and phenylethylamine, which then lead to increased mental performance.
Chocolate really does make you feel good, too. It is known to stimulate the secretion of endorphins, producing a pleasurable sensation similar to the "runner's high" a jogger feels after running several miles. Chocolate also contains a neurotransmitter, serotonin that acts as an anti-depressant. Studies in England show that even the aroma of chocolate gives a bout of euphoria and will help lift the spirits.
And now people are looking at chocolate for skin care. According to Marlies Spinale, director of Tru Spa, "Like many other antioxidants, cocoa polyphenols are thought to offer the skin protection from free-radical damage caused by sun, pollution, stress, alcohol consumption and other factors. I believe that we will hear more about the benefits of chocolate in skin care."
Some people have been avoiding chocolate because one of the main ingredients of chocolate is cocoa butter. It was thought that it was an unhealthy fat, but actually cocoa butter is not unhealthy. It is made up of the beneficial fatty acids-- oleic acid (a heart-healthy monounsaturated fat also found in olive oil), stearic and palmitic acids. Stearic and palmitic acids are healthy forms of saturated fat. Plus chocolate contains vitamins A, B1, C, D, and E, as well as potassium, sodium, and iron.
So go ahead and indulge in a little chocolate, in moderation of course. I would recommend that you try to find organic chocolate, and stick with darker chocolate because it has more chocolate flavonoids and less sugar. (Sugar weakens the immune system; so don't consume sugar if you are ill.) And a little bit of milk chocolate is alright when you need an occasional milk chocolate brainpower boost, such as before a test. All you students take note!

Technology is revolutionizing the way Americans communicate and conduct business; yet, it has been slow to really take foot in our schools curriculum's. Up until recently, technology has been introduced to students as an elective versus a complete integration and redefining of the way students are taught. The fact of the matter is, today, children are growing up in a world much different from what their parents and grandparents experienced. It is a world of computers, software, and wireless access to information on-the-fly. It is a world that requires a different set of skills to succeed; thus, it may be worth your while to investigate the role technology plays in your child's schooling.
Studies show that the use of technology in the classroom is highly beneficial to students and teachers. Not only does it prepare students for the "real world," it improves many skills that might not otherwise be fully cultivated. Because technology is so highly valued in America, students that become familiar and quite good at using it feel a sense of accomplishment, which improves self-esteem. When using technology, students are more likely to share their experiences with other students, promoting peer-to-peer tutoring and reducing the pressure teachers feel when being the only source of student assistance. In addition, students learn that there are numerous ways to solve problems and identify with how what they are learning actually applies to life outside of school.
Of course schools are limited by time and money, making it difficult to introduce anything new, especially expensive technologies that need constant maintenance and upgrades. However, if schools look at their overall program and revaluate how to accomplish the same tasks while utilizing technology, there may be more room to maneuver than originally thought. A parent's best bet is to figure out how open the school is to change and how actively they are perusing these changes. Thus, when the opportunities arise to incorporate technology, the school will be more likely to embrace them.
Following are a list of questions that may be helpful in evaluating the technology initiatives at your child's school:
o Is the use of technology in the classroom a school policy or an individual decision made by the teacher?
o What computer and technology skills are teachers expected to know?
o Are teachers provided training on popular and new technologies on a regular basis?
o What type of projects will my child be required to complete that promote the use of technology?
o Does the school have a computer lab or does each class have a single computer students are expected to share?
o What precautions are taken to ensure student safety when surfing the Web?
While it is important for schools to have an open mind about the use of technology in the classroom, parents need to support the efforts made by the school. Ask your child's teacher and principal about the roadblocks and challenges they face in implementing the changes that would encourage the use of technology. There may be some things you can do on your end to spread up the process, be it educating other parents on the issue, donating money, or expressing your concerns to the school superintendent. Whatever you do, stay realistic about your expectations and keep the lines of communication open.

Getting a child to eat healthy food can be a monumental challenge for any parent. However, studies show that all of the haggling, arguing, and hassle is actually worth the effort as a healthy diet leads to enhanced academic performance in school. In fact, malnourished children often struggle in school because they are more likely to miss school, score lower on standardized tests, and repeat grades. Worse, bad eating habits can lead to serious health problems, such as diabetes, that not only affect academic performance but a student's ability to participate in extracurricular activities.
When you follow the chain of negative events, starting with bad nutrition, it is easy to see how a child's academic career can suffer. For example, bad nutrition leads to a weakened immune system, which leads to increased doctor visits and missed school days. Missing school makes it harder for students to maintain their grades or keep up with lessons. Even if a student can keep up, bad nutrition can interfere with their ability to accept and digest information. Too much sugar, for instance, can cause attention deficit disorder-like symptoms and chronic headaches, making learning nearly impossible.
These particular nutrition problems usually arise when kids are left in charge of preparing their own breakfast and lunch. If they don't skip meals all together, they usually are making poor food choices. Out of convenience, kids are drawn to processed foods that are high in sugar, sodium and fat. This brand of malnutrition is particularly insidious because health, growth and cognitive problems may not be noticed until a serious issue has developed.
The simple act of eating breakfast can make a world of difference in warding off many of these health problems. According to the Dairy Council of California, "A nutritious breakfast provides approximately one-fourth of the recommended dietary allowances for key nutrients such as protein, vitamin A, vitamin B6, calcium, magnesium, iron and zinc." This explains why schools offering breakfast service have seen such major improvements in their students' overall health, attitude and performance.
However, breakfast is just one of the many ways parents can ensure their kids get a healthy start. Following are some additional suggestions for teaching your children healthy eating habits.
5 Tips to Better Student Nutrition:
1. Don't make the mistake of offering a wide variety of packaged snack items; rather offer a few healthy snacks like fresh fruits, trail mix, or cheese.

With gas prices reaching new heights, it's about time to start saving money on your utilities. Wouldn't it be nice if your monthly electric use was free? It can be if you switch to a solar photovoltaic system. In addition to your negligible power bill, you'll also give the planet a helping hand by reducing greenhouse gases.
What Makes Solar Attractive to Homeowners?
1. There are many reasons people are turning to solar photovoltaic systems for their domestic power supply. Here are a few.
2. Solar PV systems have a minuscule impact on the environment because the power is so clean. It does not cause air pollution, noise or noxious waste.
3. As we use more solar power, we rely less on fossil fuels. That makes our nation more self-sufficient.
4. Solar power generates jobs and income
In 2007, there were over 2,826 megawatts generated by PV installations globally. That represents an increase of over 1,000 megawatts from 2006.
How Does It Benefit States?
State leaders know a good thing when they see it. Solar photovoltaic systems reward states so much that most state governments offer special incentives to homeowners who install the systems. A few of the advantages of solar power for states are:
1. Cleaner air nationwide
2. The creation of additional jobs.
3. An economic boost.
4. Energy independence.
5. Stable prices.
A reduction in the need for expensive, polluting power plants.
To encourage the installation of cost-prohibitive PV or solar hot water systems, states are offering assistance to their citizens. Incentives include grants, tax credits, rebates, loans and property tax exemptions. Some states also offer free solar installation training and certification.
Why Should You Switch to Solar?
Photovoltaic systems capture sunlight and convert it into electricity. Most homeowners can produce all or a large portion of their daily power needs with a solar PV system installed on their roof. Excess power gathered during the daytime is saved for when the sun isn't available, such as nighttime and rainy days. Any extra power that you need would be drawn from your local electric company.
Using solar PV reduces your need for power during periods of peak use. That helps everybody on the power grid. Air conditioning in the dog days of summer can severely strain power plants and cause brownouts or rolling blackouts. Homeowners can provide extra power to the grid to help others cool their homes without taxing the state's power resources.
Here's a list of the benefits of using solar photovoltaic systems for homeowners.
1. Solar PV and solar water heating systems can reduce your power bill significantly. In some cases, it can be completely eliminated.
2. The energy you generate is reliable and renewable.
3. Solar power reduces the need for imported fossil fuels.
4. Solar PV systems provide a fixed energy cost.
5. Local jobs are created by solar systems.
6. Solar systems provide extra energy for the local power grid.
With so many advantages, more homeowners will opt for these systems in the near future. They're good for the economy, the environment and the wallet.

This article provides and overview on how to approach the task of garden design. Designing your garden is a fun and rewarding task and this article will help you achieve your goal.
Having your garden designed seems quite a formal implication with many rules to adhere to. Thank goodness this is not exactly true but many considerations have to be taken into account.
Designing a garden is like piecing a jigsaw together, such as where to site a patio, what materials to use, how to fit in a pond or where to site a feature tree.
The first step to designing a garden is with the Design Brief. A Design brief is vital to planning your garden and understanding how the layout can benefit trees, shrubs and flowers.
This also give a good opportunity to look at where the site of the house lies and try to understand how to link the house to the surroundings.
There are many styles of garden to choose from ie, high/low maintenance, formal/informal, contemporary, cottage, etc. In large gardens it is possible to incorporate all of these styles but it is the way the designer seamlessly blends one area to another that will show his/her true worth.
In smaller gardens, the garden plan has to be more precise with great attention to detail. Often there is a lot to fit in eg Lawn, pond, tree, shed etc. There will always be a small compromise in smaller gardens with seating areas and planting areas but if the balance is right then harmony will be created.
The more simple designed gardens are often the best. Over designed gardens will lead to confusion, not what you really want in your garden. A whole garden could be designed around a single specimen tree, a simple water feature or even just a box ball. It's the natural journey that the eye takes around the garden to rest upon such focal points that shows the skill of the designer.
Once a garden has been designed and built, it is there to stay, so it is very important to plan the design so that the garden will last the test of time and have longevity. There is always a push to try new modern materials which work well inside but will they stand up to the elements? Many model gardens displayed at the RHS Flowers Shows are highly original and amazingly crafted, however once the cedar deck has faded and the brightly painted trellis loses its lustre will the gardens still look as good?
The plants always take centre stage in gardens. A well placed tree or feature grass will give you years of enjoyment, whereas a stainless steel water feature may lose its appeal when the next trend arrives. As part of a garden design you should also consider a planting plan.
Most importantly, a good Garden Designer should not impose his/her ideas on the garden without taking into account the owners wishes and lifestyle. After all it is your garden!

The Starting Point
(1) Never put on a live music night unless you know the alternative crowd and are into the live music scene. Most people that start a regular night love that certain brand of music.
(2) Find a local pub that is known for its live music following.
(3) If you are under 18 find a church hall or community center. Function rooms are very cheap to hire or even free at times.
(4) With pubs and nightclubs they don't usually give up weekend nights to first time promoters unless you have proved yourself in the past.
(5) Monday or Tuesday are very good nights to start up as pubs/nightclubs are usually not that busy.
(6) Live music nights are usually run from 7.30 pm until 10/11pm. These are sometimes called early shows. The club can then put on an early show and open up after.
Promotion Checklist
Use the following checklist to ensure you are organised:
(1) The venue is booked and the price has been agreed in writing.
(2) The bands are booked and understand the night's concept.
(3) The soundman and PA is organised and price agreed.
(4) Flyers, Tickets and posters designed and printed.
(5) Promotional material distributed accordingly.
(6) Budget calculated and allocated.
How to make your promotion stand out?
You will need at least 6 weeks to promote your event. Most venues are booked months in advance so being organised is essential. Many events fail because they are poorly organised or badly promoted.
Promotion Tips:
(1) Find events that showcase the type of theme similar to yours and distrubute flyers and posters.
(2) Street flyering
(3) Nightclub exit flyering
(4) Most towns or cities have a small publication like a "Local going out guide" or "What's on guide".
(5) Website Forums
We hope this guide is useful to you. Remember, if you have any further queries contact the Flyerboy team.

Article Title: Yoyo Basics - A Beginners Guide To Yoyo
Author: Chris Riley
Word Count: 710
Article URL: http://www.isnare.com/?aid=448276&ca=Recreation
Format: 64cpl
Contact The Author: http://www.isnare.com/eta.php?aid=448276
Easy Publish Tool: http://www.isnare.com/html.php?aid=448276
*********************** ARTICLE START ***********************
If you are new to the art of yoyo here are some pointers to help you get started:
1. Setting Up the String Length
Firstly, it is quite possible that your yoyo will be ready to play straight out of the package, in this case give it a few spinners (see point 6) to see whether it suits your playing style. If you are unsure, or are attaching a new string, a general rule is that the end of your yoyo string should just reach your belly button when the yoyo is fully unwound and resting on the floor at your feet.
2. Tying a Slip Knot for Your Finger Loop
Brand new yoyos should come with a slip knot already tied, but if your yo is getting a lot of action, you'll soon be needing to replace your string and then you'll need to tie your own slip knot at the end. Before tying the slip knot itself, you need to tie a permanent loop onto the end of the string, this loop should be about big enough to fit over your thumb. Next hold the loop in one hand, whilst with the other grabbing the string about 12cm below the permanent loop and doubling it over. Then push this string through the permanent loop to create a new loop. Insert your middle finger through this new loop and pull the string to tighten it up.
3. Changing the Configuration of Your Yoyo
Modern yoyos are made to allow the yoyo to spin freely at the bottom of the string, giving you time to perform advanced tricks. For beginners, fixed axle yoyos can be made to return immediately to your hand without the free spinning action. You can do this by creating a double loop around the axle: grab the string above the yo, untwist in an anti-clockwise direction and then wrap one of the resulting two threads twice round the axle. This same method can also be used to increase the response (ease with which the yoyo can be made to return up the string) of non fixed axle yoyos.
4. Winding the String
With modern yoyos it is often not possible to simply wind your string around the yoyo axle, this is because they are set up to allow you to 'sleep' or spin the yoyo at the bottom of the string. Instead, you will need to hold the yo in one hand, place one finger of this hand across the gap and wind the string over your finger once. Then wind the rest of the string around the yoyo but under the finger and just before you finish, release the single loop of string from the finger to allow it to be wrapped under the rest of the string.
5. How to Hold Your Yoyo
Place your slip knot over the middle finger of your 'writing' hand (the one you use to write with!) and pull it tight enough for a snug fit (if you're cutting off the blood supply to your finger - it's too tight!). The loop should sit between your first and second knuckles. Hold the yoyo in your hand with your palm facing upwards and the string running from your finger over the top of the yo.
6. The Basic Throw (becomes a 'spinner' unless your string is double looped)
With your yoyo held as described in point 5, raise your hand over your shoulder and then flick it down so that it is at waist level. As your hand reaches waist level, uncurl it to release the yoyo over the ends of your fingers and send it spinning towards the ground. If you are using a single loop or non fixed axle yoyo, it will spin at the end of the string. The length of time it spins for is dependent on the speed of your flick. You will then need to turn your hand over so that your palm is facing the floor to ready it to catch the yoyo as it (hopefully!) travels back up the string. Get it to travel back up to your hand by giving the string a strong jerk.

Do #1 - Plan, prepare, design, proof, redesign, fall in love with your business card
Your business card is your opportunity to promote yourself to your immediate business community and potential new clients, suppliers and even employers. You need to make sure that your business card is a true reflection of who you are and what you are about. If you want to appear a smooth suave operator then your business card needs to show similar characteristics. Remember that once printed you are stuck for the next few months with your business card so make sure you love them before they are printed.
Do #2 - Pick your most favourite ten business card designs
Most people have a big box of other people's business cards in a new drawer near to their desk or workstation. A great pre-design idea is to select the best 10 business cards in your collection and put them around your desk while you decide on your new business card. You'll find you save time on your project as others will have suffered the same pain as you but will also have solved the key problems with regards to wide range of different designs and those types of content that work and don't work. Is it plagiarism? Its hardly video piracy but make sure you won't end up giving someone your business card which is almost identical to their own. That would be a difficult scenario to get out of.
Do #3 - Make your business card as memorable as possible
Imagine someone else in six months time doing exactly what you've been doing ie selecting their favourite business cards from their collection of 100+ cards. How are you going to make yours remarkable and memorable. You can think of putting your photograph on your business card or maybe a relevant image like your key product, business headquarters or office pet. Alternatively you could use the reverse side of your business card as a tool for making a real difference. Keep picturing the person sitting at their desk and looking at your business card. What are they thinking? Also consider the various senses (ie sight, sound, smell, touch, etc) which could affect the reader. By the way, a nice rounded corner to your business card goes a long way.
Do #4 - Ensure there is a minimum of three forms of information on your business card
Are fax numbers still relevant? Does anyone actually use their facsimile transfer machine? Do you know anyone who says "I'll send you a fax"? These are questions you should consider when you're planning your business card design. You may also want to avoid putting your address on your business card, especially if you work from home. You may also want to avoid receiving annoying postal direct mail from someone who you've given your business card to. Research by business professionals suggest you should always include a minimum of three forms of information upon your business card. The minimum amount of information for any business card should be: name, telephone number and email address. Is this enough? This could be a very classy business card if you produced a three-line business card using a beautiful raised font printed on really high grade one-sided card. The other extreme is to ram as much information as you can on both sides of your business card in a tiny font - aaaarrrgh!
Do #5 - Print enough business cards so you're not too precious about them
There's an hour left of your key business exhibition. You have two business cards left and you know there are a minimum of three important people you will be seeing. Which two should you give your business cards to? If you've genuinely run out because you've had a brilliant business event and met loads of great business contacts then that's okay. However if you forgot to take enough business cards remember next time you re-print your business cards make sure you print double the number you need. You will notice this doesn't cost double the cost normally only a few pounds more for twice as many.
DON'TS
Don't #1 - Print your own business cards
Would you cut your own hair? Well you might do it once but then never again. You can always tell those people who have made their own business cards as they are produced on flimsy paper, with faded washed-out colours and are on odd sized paper which is never squarely cut. The other key Don't within this category is 'Never bake your own business card' for obvious reasons.
Don't #2 - Produce a business card which discourages your potential clients from dealing with you
We all know that first impressions count - your business card falls massively into this category. If you produce a business card which shows you as arrogant, self-obsessed or even unprofessional then the chances of you gaining business from your card are hugely diminished. Unless you are a model, you should avoid putting glamorous photos of yourself. You should also avoid putting small achievements like employee of the month. Other unprofessional conduct would include incorrect spelling, inaccurate information or some embellishment of the truth.
Don't #3 - Make your business card inappropriate, irrelevant or extremely dull
Controversy can often be very effective in getting yourself noticed (see item Do #3 above). However there is a time and place for everything and having a naked photo of your girlfriend on the back of your business card is probably not quite the right thing to promote your accountancy practice. There are certain issues you should not associate yourself with. Putting your Dora the Explorer fan club number on your business card might also appear a little strange.
Don't #4 - Keep distributing out-of-date business cards
Have you ever received a business card with hand-written changes on it. If you've moved address or switched mobile phone numbers but haven't changed your business card yet, get to it straight away. You need to understand the value of a new sale against the cost of a business card reprint. Its a no-brainer!
Don't #5 - Forget to take your business cards at all times
"Yes Sir Alan of course I'd like to work for you. Here's my... oh sorry I seem to have left them at home."
If you've got them, flaunt them! And possibly invest in a business card holder to ensure they remain in their original pristine condition. This shows you care about your own things and hence would also care about your potential new client. And always have at least five business cards on you at all times, except when swimming!

Here's five ways to store your business cards
The Roladex
The classic Roladex adorned most office desks throughout the 1980s. The name is a combination of 'roller' ie rotation and 'dex' ie index.
In its heyday, your Roladex sat alongside those little boxes of index cards. We didn't have personal computers during the 80s so our desk were full of little bits of paper.
Some people even had a huge spike on their desks with random bits of paper until the health and safety freaks banned them because 'you might just have your eye out with one of those'.
Anyway your Roladex held the entire contents of your contact book and more. Even if you didn't have a business card for someone, you would put a little card in with their details on.
Roladex files were usually sorted alphabetically for easy searching. But could be split by different categories.
Roladex were so important to some people that you'd always find a few being carried outside when the fire alarm sounded.
The digital age ended the love affair with the Roladex. You'll occasionally see them at car boot sales - mostly blank new ones that someone stole from their office stationery cupboard in 1985 but if you see one with actual contents in you should definitely purchase and check out whats inside. All the London numbers will be '01' or even '0171' and '0181' - remember them!
The good old days when you could carry a piece of paper around your place of work all afternoon and not do any work also included a two-hour session getting your Roladex up-to-date. Bloody computers have put that little scam out to grass but there's always solitaire.
A4 business card folder
A ring binder with plastic A4 wallets to store business cards allowed you to keep your business contacts in a nice clean environment. You could even alphabetise them but the choice was always whether the choose the company name or the persons name.
You would usually choose the company name and then end up with dozens of company business cards for the same company. These business card wallets are a real hassle when you have to put a new card into a full file as it meant transfering the last card into a new wallet and then finding a hole for the new card. Boring!
The other problem was that you'd find people within an office all had the same business cards for the same people which was duplicating the work in filing all these business cards.
Business card wallets have now been sent to Coventry and filed under 'b' for bin. If you still use business card folder, please send us a picture so we can have a good laugh.
Business card scanner
Techy geeks will have invested in one of these machine. Basically you put your business cards in the slot, it whisks through the machine, scanning as it goes. The information is sorted by the software and information is stored on your PC or Mac.
The beauty of these machines is that you can through away your countless business cards which you have collected over many years.
These machines do not hold poor design against the original owner of the business card. They also do not go all weak at the knees for expensive thermographic printing or die-cutting.
Evernote
Evernote really is the ultimate in business card storage. Its a computer application that you download on to your machine. It links with your webcam. You simply hold up the latest business card in your collection to your webcam and It takes a snapshot your business card.
The clever comes when it reads the information from the snapshot and files it neatly within its various folders.
However its not just business cards you may wish to snapshot but drawings, doodles, notes, logos, etc.
On its website, Evernote says, "Use Evernote to save your ideas, things you see, and things you like. Then find them all on any computer or device you use. For free."
Bottom desk drawer
So now we live in the digital age what do we do with the business cards we are given. Easy! We put them in the bottom drawer of our desk.
Other things you might find within your bottom desk drawer include an old mini-stapler without mini-staples, some post-it notes with fluff on one side, a plastic pencil sharpener and 23p in coppers.

Article Title: Footbag (AKA Hacky Sack) Explained

*********************** ARTICLE START ***********************
The origins of the modern sport of footbag (or Hacky Sack) can be seen in many games which existed in ancient cultures throughout the world. One of the oldest can be traced back to a game called Kemari, documented in Japanese literature around 1400 years ago. It was played by noblemen in a flat area surrounded by trees and the object of the game was to keep a small deerskin ball in the air for as long as possible without it touching the ground. In Kemari the ball is called the Mari and the one who kicks the ball the Mariashi, it is an extremely athletic activity and requires great flexibility and balance, especially if more complicated moves are to be performed. All parts of the body may be used to keep the Mari in the air except for the arms and hands. Kemari is still played today in Japan with the players wearing traditional costumes and often watched by large crowds.
Also still popular in the modern day is Sepak Takraw which is played throughout East Asia and is especially popular in Malaysia and Thailand. It uses a larger ball and is often played by two competing players over a net, with players awarded points for getting the takraw to hit the ground on the opponent's side of the court. This game was invented by the Malaysian Royal family around 500 years ago and has since spread right across Asia (known in the Philippines as Sipa, in Burma: Chinlone, in Laos: Kator and in Indonesia: Raga).
Other similar games that have disappeared over the ages are Tsu Chu (which originated in China and is thought to have influenced the development of Kemari), and a game played by Native American Indians involving kicking around a small pellet-filled animal hide bag.
The modern game of footbag was invented in 1972 by John Stalberger and Mike Marshall of Oregon in the USA. They came up with the name 'Hacky Sack' but also registered it as a trademark, hence the two different terms that are used to describe the sport today (footbag and Hacky Sack).
In its basic form footbag does not have winners, losers, or direct competition between players, making it somewhat unique among sports. Of course in footbag tournaments a competitive element has to be introduced and comes in two forms; footbag 'net' and footbag 'freestyle'. The first, as the name suggests, is played by kicking the footbag over a net in a game with rules similar to volleyball (and Sepak Takraw). The second allows a player a set amount of time (usually a couple of minutes) in which to perform a pre-scripted routine involving linking a series of tricks together, often to music. The world's best players can put together some incredible sequences which become an almost balletic art form as well as a competitive sport.
The International Footbag Committee (IFC) is the body responsible for overseeing international footbag competition and agreeing the rules of the sport (they publish a rule book and update it annually). The International Footbag Players' Association (IFPA) is the other large international footbag organization, they are 'a non-profit public benefit organization dedicated to the growth of footbag play world-wide, as lifetime recreation and as a competitive sport' and their long-term goal is '…to have the world-wide sport of footbag become recognized by the International Olympic Committee and other international amateur sports organizations' (quoted from the official website of the IFPA). Every year many footbag events take place in countries across the world and competitions attract thousands of spectators and competitors.
As has been mentioned, freestyle footbag in the streets is very different from competition footbag. There are no winners, making it very easy for people to pick up and have a go. There are very few other activities where it is normal for complete strangers to join in a game and for novices to be welcomed and encouraged to try it out - a basic trick from someone who is learning the ropes is applauded just as much as an advanced trick from an experienced player. As someone who has spent many hours in the sunshine kicking a little sand filled bag around with a circle of friends, I personally have a real love for the game and the things it stands for. Rather than being a competitive pastime, freestyle footbag is more about group participation and appreciation of the skills of others. The two main rules are that you must always pass to someone else if you are the one starting off a game, and that there is no apologizing when the footbag is dropped. Footbag is all about having fun, advancing your skills and showing off your latest tricks.
Footbag is a growing sport, and with such deep roots in cultures around the globe it is only going to get more popular. The values of respect and sportsmanship that go with it are things that will only benefit the game and the people who play it. Footbag is also a great sport for improving flexibility, balance and reactions, and for general fitness, so grab yourself a hack, get out there, and give it a go.

Meet the students
A strange and diverse tribe, students date back to ancient times. They're out there in their millions but tricky to track down. Find out who they are, where they hang out and the opportunities they offer:
Rockus Maximus
Who are they?
This genus is extremely fond of Pete Doherty, The Killers and regularly reads the NME.
What are they like?
A bit scruffy, they went to university because they're not quite sure what they want to do in life (apart from headlining Glastonbury, obviously). Also identified as a 'procrastinator' (Mintel, 2004).
Where can they be found?
When they're not downloading the latest Green Day track onto their iPod, they can be found lurking in dingy pubs, scouting Indie record shops to pick up rare promos or renting a DVD. Often nocturnal creatures, fond of smoking - how shall we say? natural remedies, they are among the half of all students who go to rock concerts.
Most likely to:
Wear a Nirvana T-shirt ('It's history man, my dad loves them!')
Least likely to:
Listen to The Cheeky Girls.
Marketing opportunities
Rockus Maximus want to know about gigs, CD deals, beer promos, music festivals and where to find cheap Rizlas.
Urbanicus Fashionista
Who are they?
Most likely to be female, this small bird-like creature is set to be a high-achiever. Taking care of mind and body, they are among the 26% of students who take part in some form of sport or exercise at least once a week (Mintel 2004).
What are they like?
Nicely-groomed, with clear, shiny skin, finished with a touch of lip-gloss in the day, but togged-up in their favorite number from the designer sales when they hit the town once a week. They like quality but are thrifty because they fear student debt. They try and budget, shopping around for interest-free credit cards to help manage their finances.
Could be one of Mintel's 'planners' (2004), believing a degree will enhance their career prospects.
Where can they be found?
The gym, cocktail bars, the bookshop, the library, designer stores (just to get ideas) and high street fashion stores.
Most likely to:
Wish they could afford Stella McCartney for Adidas' designer exercise gear.
Least likely to:
Drink alcopops
Marketing opportunities
Keep Urbanicus Fashionista fully-informed about bargain flights to Thailand, innovative bank accounts, Pilates classes, organic cafes and deals on facials.
Culture Vulturecalus
Who are they?
They are the approximate 30% of students (compared to 17% of non-students) who regularly visit art galleries and exhibitions. (Mintel, 2004)
What are they like?
They are lively and engaging, probably quite noisy, and love discussion and debate about the latest cultural happening. The female of the species may well be among the 15% who attend contemporary dance performances.
Where can they be found?
The cinema, the art gallery, the museum, the theatre or swanning around the cooler summer festivals, such as the Big Chill or Lost Vagueness. Nighttime sees them at a select club night hosted by a small up-and-coming breaks or hip hop label.
Most likely to:
Try to blag their way into the local art gallery's latest private viewing or urban music event.
Least likely to:
Do the 'big fish, little fish' dance on the podium at Ritzy's nightclub.
Marketing opportunities
Attract this group with two-for-one theatre tickets, art gallery memberships, museum cafe discounts and student cinema offers.
Academius Geriatricus
Who are they?
This breed is the 10% of students that are 21+ and are more likely to be male. They could be a Workplace Refugee (Mintel, 2004), who has decided to come to university after working, wanting a degree in order to progress.
What are they like?
On average, they have about £350 more cash over the academic year than younger students. There is a strong chance they have lived in London (DfES, 2002/03).
Where can they be found?
Generally studying at one of the newer universities or working part-time in paid employment. They make the most of their course by researching in the lab, archive centre or library.
Most likely to:
Have their old work suit from Next hanging in the wardrobe and regularly brush their hair and clean their teeth.
Least likely to:
Hang out with the school-leavers in the student union.
Marketing opportunities
Those who market postgraduate courses, bookshop discount days and properties to rent could be targeting this group with their services.
I-am-mad-i-am-icus
Who are they?
They want to get a degree with minimum fuss, while thoroughly enjoying themselves and making the most of the university social scene.
What are they like?
Jolly, nobody's as nuts or up-for-it as they are, you should have seen them at the clubs in Ibiza or Ayia Napa this summer.
Where can they be found?
Attending every Freshers' Week event, at the hilarious 'school disco' in the student union or making the most of cheap shot deals at the local pub chains in town.
Most likely to:
Apply to Big Brother (male) or FHM Magazine's High Street Honeys (female).
Least likely to:
Be a wallflower.
Marketing opportunities
Freshers' week events, cheap club entry, novelty condoms and drinks promotions will all attract their attention.
Geekus Spectacalus
Who are they?
Commonly translated from the Latin as 'geek' this academia lover probably excels at maths or science. They were always expected to go to university as the next logical step and so fit into Mintel's category 'Production Liners' (2004).
What are they like?
Very shy around potential mating partners, not too hot on the old fashion sense, but always happy to explain the latest techno-wizardry to a fellow student.
Where can they be found?
More likely to be a student at the 'older universities', go to the cinema, sci-fi conventions or the student dating agency.
Most likely to:
Remember how to do long division.
Least likely to:
Enjoy extreme sports.
Marketing opportunities
Geekus spectaculus loves a gadget, computer fair, book sale or extra-curricular lecture event.

Flyers are an excellent marketing tool to promote a club night or event. They are commonly used for student promotions throughout the country.
You want your flyers to travel all over town, only you'd probably prefer it wasn't in the dustcart or stuck to the bottom of someone's shoe. What steps can you take to avoid this?
Here's a few hints and tricks to help your flyers avoid the trash:
1. Don't miss the boat before you start. Double-check local Fresher's week and 2005/06 term dates with your local universities, as they vary nationwide.
2. Make sure there's a reason for students to keep your flyers. Can you include a drinks' promotion, discount or special offer in the copy?
3. Always include the key facts. Students need to know what, when, why, how and where. List all relevant info, such as prices, times, dates, venue or address, contact details and your url.
4. Always double check your spelling and grammar before you go to print.
5. It may sound obvious but do a spot check on the reliability of your delivery agents. You've got a great deal on print, don't blow it with distribution.
6. Remember to leave your flyers in the places where your target student hangs out, read Meet the students for some helpful placement ideas.
7. Strong visuals or topical humour help students to remember your promotion. They may even stick your flyer on their bedroom wall; beats the Simon Cowell poster their mum bought them for Christmas.
8. Ask a few local students their opinion of your sample flyer designs to see which one has the most market appeal.
9. Want to increase sales and profit? Handing out the flyer yourself can maximise your budget. Your personal enthusiasm and a friendly face can work wonders.
10. Er, try not to stand near a bin.

1, Create a style in line with your business or your website
When you've spent money on creating a beautiful website or brand for your business, you need to follow that through with your business card. However if your styling is poor - stop and do things properly before creating your business cards. They'll only be out-of-date when you do decide to take the plunge.
2, Add a Photo of you and/or your team
Everyone has a stash of other people's business cards which sits in their desk's side drawer. Half of them are faceless people I can neither remember or find the energy to contact. However if they had a picture on their business cards, this would certainly ring a bell or two. If you do decide to reproduce a photo of yourself please make sure its professionally taken by someone who understands lighting, focus and composition.
3, Add different testimonials to your business cards
Your referrals from previous satisfied customers are your biggest asset when selling to new potential clients. So why would you leave them off your business cards, especially if they were personalised testimonials from someone high up in your sector. Warning - make sure the person giving you a testimonials is worth the effort and not someone with baggage. Also make sure your testimonials is not at the detrimony of the person your giving your business cards to.
4, Add your social media links including facebook, twitter and linkedin
Everyone is talking about social media and their twitter stream or their facebook fan page. But if you're not registered on http://linkedin.com how do you know what you're missing. There are many business opportunities created via these online socialising networks. You can spend hours and lots of money on breakfast networking events - do it online for free and see what happens. And then you can add the links on your business cards.
5, Used a raised font (also known as thermography)
If you were going to get a business card from HRH The Queen you imagine it would be a beautiful scripty font raised off the card with thermography (raised print created by using a special powder on wet ink). The Queen's business card would say something like 'The Queen, Buckingham Palace, London - Follow me on my facebook fan page and my twitter stream @hrhlizbuckhouse'
6, Add one or more rounded corners
Is your personality well rounded? If your business cards are, it says a lot about your attention to detail. It shows you've realised the benefits of a small bit of design and print work and have invested the resources to finish the look off. The technical term for creating rounded corners is die-cutting and you can cut all four corners or just one. The choice is yours but you'll definitely feel the love if you do.
7, Add some photos of the products or services you offer
If you sell beautiful venetian mirrors then put some of your business cards. Everyone will know what you do and they'll remember your business cards amongst the many other venetian mirror sales reps cards who have left off their products. Make sure the pics are good quality and relevant to your business. You'll need a decent designer to make sure your card can carry off the images.
8, Deliberately leave some white space on the reverse of your card for notes or other information
Plumbers, builders or other tradespeople who may have need to give someone a quote might like to have a small space on their business card to put down a price or a part that someone might request. Other people may also find that spaces for notes can be opportune at exhibitions or conferences when hundreds of business cards are exchanged.
9, Put one or more of your favourite recipes on the reverse of your business card/s
Just a bit of fun - but you never know it might come in handy one day. You could also switch a recipe for a inspirational quotation or something which might make the recipient think. Showing someone that you can trigger an emotion within them may lead to further conversations and possible business opportunities. Don't be afraid to show your own personality - its your own individual brand.
10, Record a short online video especially for your business card contacts then include a screengrab and web-link on your business card.
This final idea might smack of arrogance but the online world is leading to more and more creative ways to engage with people. Converting people from your business card to your company website is a tough ask as it takes quite an effort to take your website address from your business card and then go to your laptop and look it up so if someone views your online video there's a good chance they might be warm lead for a sales opportunity.

Properly maintaining your favourite yoyo is very important, they will last longer and play better with proper care. As a guide to help you do this, we have put together a list of top tips for a healthy yoyo:
1. STRINGS: care
One of the most important things for your yoyo is to look after your strings properly. If your string becomes dirty or knotted, your yoyo will not spin as fast or perform tricks as well as it is designed to. Also over time your string might become frayed through repeated use and snap while playing. For safety and best possible play, you should change yours regularly and always use official replacement yoyo strings. Don't try and make your own out of regular string!
2. STRINGS: changing
Removing a string from your yoyo is quite simple: just grab hold of the string about 2cm above the yoyo and twist the yoyo anti-clockwise until the string opens up. When you have untwisted enough string it will be easy to pull it over the top of the yoyo. You do not need to undo a yoyo to change a string. To put on a new string just do the opposite. Untwist the base of the string until you have created a large enough loop and then place it round the yoyo. When the yoyo is in place, make sure you wind the string back up until it reaches the axle.
3. AXLES - wooden axles
The wooden axles found on some basic yoyos are specifically designed to give you some of the feel of an advanced ball bearing yoyo, but with the added response you need when first attempting tricks. The key to a top performing wooden axle is its smoothness, when you first get your yoyo you may need to throw 5-10 spinners to get it running smoothly. Wooden axles are not as strong as their metal counterparts, be careful not to hit the floor too often or your axle can snap in half. Unfortunately if your wooden axle breaks it is best to replace the whole yoyo.
4. AXLES - metal axles
Metal axles are also engineered to give you the feel of an advanced ball bearing yoyo, these are perfect for string tricks and give good sleeper times whilst offering you a controlled response. Like all spinning axles, the spin of a metal axle can be affected by dirt and dust, it sometimes helps to blow on the axle to remove anything that is stopping it from running smoothly. You can also adjust the responsiveness by using some approved yoyo lubricant.
5. AXLES - auto return axles
The auto return axles found on yoyos such as the PowerYo FX3 and Yo2 Triple Action models are new intelligent clutch-based return systems that allow you to get amazing spin speeds and spinner times. The clever thing about the auto return axle system is that whilst it will automatically return to your hand when it slows down at the end of a spinner, unlike most clutch yoyos you can also make it return under your own control at any time during the spin. The auto return axle is very hard to reassemble if you take it apart, so if you wish to clean it, simply blow any dirt or dust off the axle.
6. AXLES -ball bearing axles
The ball bearing axles found on yoyos such as most of the YoyoJam range are highly engineered, high speed axles that will enable you to get the best long spin times and incredible tricks out of your yoyo. Because these axles contain moving parts you should never get them wet or there is a possibility that rust may form inside the bearing case and stop the yoyo from performing. All ball bearings sold at yoyoshop come lightly oiled to help protect them from moisture, however over time, and if you clean your ball bearing you may remove this protection, so it's always a good idea to use yoyo lubrication oil regularly to keep the bearing protected.
7. LUBRICATION
Lubrication oil is perfect for smoothing and adding responsiveness to all metal yoyo axles. You should add a small drop of oil onto each side of the axle as and when required. On all ball bearing axles lubrication oil should be used regularly to keep them running smoothly and prevent moisture getting into the bearing. See here for more information.

Article Title: Removal of Warts - 3 Really Simple Wart Removal Remedies to Try at Home

The removal of warts has been a preoccupation of natural medicine for a very long time. Some of the cures which have evolved over the centuries have a proven track record of success. Some of them are less so, and some again are just cranky nonsense. Here is a list of ways that modern day folks use to get rid of warts, and which have some degree of efficacy.
As you may or may not know, warts are completely harmless. They are a simple infection of the HPV or human papillomavirus, which is found world wide wherever people exist. It's impossible to avoid and is quite easy to catch and spread.
You can get HPV through ordinary skin to skin contact with an infected person, and by wearing clothing or shoes belonging to an infected person. HPV is also easily spread through sexual contact, and is classed as a sexually transmitted disease, or STD.
In appearance, warts come in a range of colors and textures. Warts on the face, arms or torso may be slightly raised, may be a bit rough in texture, and may range from very pale to a light reddish brown in color.
Warts on the soles of the feet, known as plantar warts, are flat, and tend to be white in color.
With the exception of genital warts, most warts can be treated at home with varying degrees of success. Genital warts should NEVER be treated at home for two reasons: they are more difficult to diagnose and so may be confused with a more serious STD, and they are VERY quickly and easily spread.
With that little health warning aside, let's move on to our three simple home wart removal remedies.
1) Vitamin A has been successfully used to treat warts. The method is simple. Start with vitamin A in liquid capsule form. Break open a capsule and spread the contents over the affected area.
Bandage, repeat daily, and observe the results over one week. If you do not see the results you want, move on to cure number two.
2) Vitamin C is a very powerful nutrient proven to have massive positive effects on our health. However, vitamin C is also quite irritating to the exposed skin, so should be used topically with a bit of caution. The method: grind a vitamin C tablet to a powder, and mix with a few drops of water to make a paste. Apply to the affected skin and bandage.
Repeat daily and observe the results for one week. Should you see that your warts are starting to die off, keep at it. However, if your skin starts to look raw and irritated, discontinue and try this next method.
3) Bananas (yes, bananas!) can be quite useful in the fight against warts. As any doctor will tell you, bananas are a powerful source of potassium, which is an essential mineral for our health. The wart virus does not like potassium, however, and finds it quite toxic. So, take a small piece of banana peel and rub the inside part of the skin against the affected skin.
Keep clean, and repeat daily. Observe the results for more than a week to see if it works for you. There are no drawbacks to this method, other than that you will carry a faint odor of banana with you!
If none of these do the job for you, do not give up. There is a range of treatments to try, some of which use easily found home products, others of which will require a trip to the pharmacy or your doctor. At the end of the day, your warts may disappear with no intervention from you whatsoever. In some cases, doing nothing may be the most effective method for the removal of warts.

Article Title: Genital Warts Removal-Easy Essentials for the Removal of Genital Warts

*********************** ARTICLE START ***********************
Genital warts removal is a topic few of us want to talk about. It involves a skin condition we tend to be embarrassed about at the best of times, and located in a part of our bodies we prefer not to mention.
That said, genital warts are incredibly common. No one is immune to them. If you have never had them, that does not make you especially virtuous, and if you do have them, that does not make you especially bad!
So, what are genital warts, and what can we do to help ourselves if we contract them?
To start off, these are simply common or garden variety warts, but located on the genital or anal regions. Like all warts, they are caused by the HPV or human papillomavirus. They are passed from person to person on contact; in this case, by sexual contact. Genital warts are very, very contagious, are not nice to look at, and are a cause of profound embarrassment. But remember that no one ever died of a wart, and you won't either.
A few key health warnings are in order, however.
1) Pregnant women with genital warts must get prompt treatment. Because of the high contagion factor, babies can contract the HPV virus during labor, so expectant mothers who think they have HPV should do the right thing and get treated.
2) If you think you may have genital warts, do not try to treat them yourself. The problem here is that you may be mistaken in your self-diagnosis. Warts on the genital region are not dissimilar to other STD's which may be more serious. So don't wait until it may be too late. If you think it's a wart on the genital or anal region, go straight to your doctor.
3) One more fact is worthy of consideration. By their nature and location, genital warts are difficult for you to examine on your own body. Let your doctor do his or her job and do the looking for you. If you are diagnosed with an HPV infection, consider yourself in luck, for it is quite treatable!
Now, assuming you really do have genital warts, what can you do?
Your doctor can try out a range of drugs which are known to have a good track record. They come in cream and/or lotion forms, and are fairly powerful. Space does not permit a long rundown of these drugs, but, for your own research, try Googling these terms: imiquimod, podophyllin, podofilox, and trichloroacetic acid. All are used for wart treatment.
Another well-known drug you may come across is called fluorouracil. Depending on where you live and the local drug legislation, you may or may not be prescribed this. It is normally prescribed as an anti-cancer drug, and is fairly powerful and rather toxic. It is less used now for genital wart treatment, but it does not hurt to be aware of it.
Finally, some of the standard wart treatments work perfectly well for many genital HPV cases. These include laser therapy and cryotherapy. Laser treatment is the use of intense light energy to burn off the wart; cryotherapy uses intense cold.
One more thing: use common sense. Every intelligent person knows that the best way to avoid STD's of any description is, of course, total abstinence. Failing that, use your head, and practice safe sex, and do not jump from partner to partner in rapid succession. Prevention is the best treatment!

Article Title: Mole Removal Prices-Controlling the Costs of Mole Removal

*********************** ARTICLE START ***********************
Mole removal prices vary depending on many factors. That said, keep one thing uppermost in your mind- mole removal treatment is almost always an elective, cosmetic procedure. For that reason, your insurer may be unwilling to shoulder the costs, leaving you stuck with the bill. Therefore, we all owe it to ourselves to be mindful of controlling our costs when shopping for high quality mole removal treatment.
Before going any further, a word of warning. There will always be a minority of moles which turn out to be something more serious. In those cases, we are not talking about a mere cosmetic procedure, but quite possibly a life saving measure. Do not take your health for granted- if you see something on your skin which worries you, see your doctor without delay!
With that out of the way, always remember to check with your insurer to see whether you can be covered for an elective procedure. If not, then this article could save you money!
When looking at mole removal pricing, keep in mind that costs vary according to 1) the type of treatment, and 2) who is performing it.
Looking at treatment first, remember that you have a few different treatment options.
Laser therapy remains a popular choice for its clean results and relative lack of scarring. However, laser is not recommended for deep, large moles, as you are likely to need repeat treatments, so increasing your costs.
Cryotherapy is the other big option that many people choose. Whether it is cheaper than laser will depend on the size and depth of your mole. Cryotherapy will almost certainly be cheaper for those larger moles.
Different practitioners also charge different amounts for the same treatment. You may decide that you do not need to see the famous specialist in the swanky downtown offices, and may opt for the guy in the small suburban practice.
Location alone has a big bearing on your costs. Again, a fancy address is likely to carry a price tag to suit. Be a smart shopper and don't assume that a bigger fee and nicer offices necessarily mean better results.
Also, look carefully at the way a price quote is presented to you. Look closely and see if all the costs are mentioned. Is there an amount built in for unforeseen events? What about after care- will that be extra? What will the costs be for follow up visits after your mole has been removed- are these included?
Many specialists, aware that people may be on a budget, will offer you financing options. In other words, much like buying a car where you drive off and pay in installments, your surgeon or specialist may be able to work on your mole, and arrange for staged payments over time.
These arrangements may carry an interest charge. If so, what is the total cost of the procedure as opposed to paying up front in a lump sum? Would it be cheaper for you to approach your bank for a personal loan rather than going through the specialist?
Think like a consumer, not a patient. At the end of the day, mole removal is an elective procedure, so the price tag has to be something you can bear without it being burdensome. In years to come, you don't want to look in the mirror where once you had a mole, and find yourself regretting you had not done more research into mole removal prices.

Removing a wart can be a bit of a challenge. While they are common enough life occurrences, they can cause us some embarrassment as they are somewhat unsightly. While you can certainly go and see your doctor about warts, there are things you can do at home to help yourself at very little cost.
It's always best to know the enemy before tackling him, so first let's see what warts really are.
A wart is a very simple and very harmless infection caused by the HPV or human papillomavirus. HPV is prevalent wherever humans are, so there is no point trying to avoid it.
HPV infections are very contagious and easily spread from person to person through normal skin contact. You can even contract the HPV virus through shared clothing or footwear.
Quite commonly, warts are spread through sexual contact. Genital warts pose special challenges for treatment, so I would urge you to see a doctor if you think you have genital warts. Not the least of the reasons for seeing a doctor straight away is that some more serious STD's may be mistaken for genital warts.
Aside from certain risks around the diagnosis of genital warts, normal garden variety warts are nothing to worry about. They are likely to appear as small raised bumps on the skin, and may be somewhat colored and are often a bit rough in texture. Warts on the sole of the foot, called plantar warts, tend to be flat and white in appearance, but are no different in reality than other skin warts.
To treat warts at home simply and easily, here are two methods you can try.
Duct tape is an easily obtained non-permeable plastic tape available at any hardware store. If you clean and dry the affected area of skin and then apply a small piece of duct tape, you will starve your wart of air.
Many believe that by suffocating the wart, so to speak, you can kill it quite naturally. Change the tape daily and keep the area clean. Use a pumice to remove any dead skin that accumulates, and have patience.
After a week or ten days, decide if you are happy with the progress you are making. If so, continue this treatment. If not, then try this next remedy.
Apple cider vinegar is easily obtained in many supermarkets. It is highly acidic, and as such many believe in its natural antiseptic powers. Many wind musicians and singers gargle regularly with apple cider vinegar to keep away throat and other respiratory infections.
For warts, try either diluting the cider vinegar in warm water, or warm it up and apply undiluted. Either way, always keep your skin very clean, and apply two or three times a day.
This may take you a few weeks to see a result, but many swear by it. If you are not satisfied with the result, then talk to your local druggist. He or she will have several inexpensive options to offer you to help you remove warts.
Finally, if all else fails, by all means see your doctor. Keep in mind, though, that warts are unsightly and a bit embarrassing, but no one ever died from a wart. At the end of the day, your warts may even cure themselves, especially in children.

Article Title: Mole Removal Procedure-Best Methods For Removing a Mole

Mole removal procedures vary from the simple to the highly technical. Before you take the step of having a mole removed, you should know, first of all, what exactly a mole is, and how they are commonly removed.
Moles are incredibly common, and usually are not a threat to your health in any way. Unlike warts or other skin blemishes, moles are actually a natural part of the skin. They are simply dark, localized patches of pigment, and may vary in size from a small pinprick dot to a large colored patch.
Moles come in two types.
First, there are the moles you are born with, and then there are the ones which appear later in life.
Moles we are born with are often regarded as beauty marks, and may even be highly coveted. In fact, some women are known to create "artificial moles" with the judicious use of makeup in strategic places on the face.
For most of us, a birth mole is just an unexceptional part of our lives. We accept it as part of how we look, and these pose no harm to us. Occasionally we may decide to get rid of a birth mole for cosmetic reasons.
However, moles which appear later in life may require more attention from us. Unlike birth moles, these late appearing moles may change in size, shape or color, and are even known to bleed in some cases.
This second category of mole can be the harbinger of skin disease, and as such merits prompt medical attention.
The people who should be most on the lookout for this second category are those who are fair skinned, perhaps of European descent, who live in sunny climates or who work outdoors a lot. If you fall into that category, be sure to notice the state of your skin. A mole appearing where you had none before may be an early sign of a skin disorder, even skin cancer.
If you decide to get rid of a mole, whether for cosmetic or medical reasons, your doctor will help you decide on the best method of treatment. The most common medical treatments at the moment are cryotherapy, laser treatment, and surgical excision.
Please note that if you are having treatment for a mole for cosmetic purposes, check with your health insurer. Depending on your policy, you may not have coverage for elective, cosmetic procedures, so have an eye towards the costs you may incur.
Cryotherapy is the use of very low temperatures to freeze the mole and a small amount of surrounding tissue. The freezing takes only a few moments, and requires the application of liquid nitrogen or some other very low temperature substance directly to the affected skin. There can be a small amount of pain, but not much. The dead frozen tissue is then removed with a sharp tool, and then the lesion is bandaged. It will heal quickly, and there is normally no undue scarring.
Laser treatment is the opposite of the above method-extreme heat is used to burn away the offending tissue. The dead tissue is allowed to fall away of itself after a period of a few days.
Laser treatment does not recommend itself to very deep, large moles as the type of laser used in this procedure is designed to produce only very localized heat. Repeated treatments would be necessary to rid you of large moles; your specialist will advise you as to the applicability of lasers to your situation.
Finally, surgical excision is only necessary as a treatment of last resort. Your surgeon removes the mole and a small amount of tissue; the lesion is bandaged and allowed to heal normally.
While there are a number of natural products on the market to get rid of moles, you should ONLY try these for purely cosmetic reasons. This is not to say that natural remedies never work-far from it! However, if your mole is of the late appearing variety and has been diagnosed as pointing to a more serious underlying problem, please use common sense and seek proper medical treatment rather than increase your health risk.

Article Title: Remove Plantar Warts-How to Use Salicylic Acid For Plantar Wart Removal

To remove plantar warts may require a level of effort not normally associated with the removal of the average wart. The reason for this is to do with the location of these warts on the soles of the feet. Let's look at what warts are, how we get them on our feet, and why we may need to take extra care to get rid of them.
So, to begin with, plantar warts, like all other warts, are caused by an infection of the human papillomavirus, of HPV.
The HPV is found throughout the human environment, and is very contagious. So contagious is it that one wart on your skin can lead to a rash of warts spreading over a wide area. HPV is spread easily and quickly from person to person by ordinary skin contact, and through shared objects like clothing or shoes.
Plantar warts are found exclusively on the soles of the feet. If you have them, you may have gotten them by walking barefoot in a gym locker room or swimming pool area, or by wearing shoes, trainers or sandals previously worn by an infected person. The HPV is impossible to avoid, so please don't feel you have done anything wrong by having gotten this very common infection.
The trouble with the plantar wart is that, located as it is on the sole of the foot, it is a little harder to treat than other warts. Our feet tend to spend a lot of time locked inside socks and shoes, and so tend to have less access to cooler, drier air, which is conducive to healing. The insides of our shoes are warm and moist, a perfect environment for fostering the growth and spread of HPV.
So, if you have plantar warts, there are a number of steps you can take.
The first step is to take a trip to your local drugstore and ask for a weak solution of salicylic acid. This is widely available, and is sold under various brand names, depending on where you live.
Salicylic acid is a very old, very reliable cure for warts. It is unpleasant stuff to handle, and has an unpleasant odor. Properly used, it is easy to treat yourself or your children with this very reputable remedy.
Simply clean and dry the affected foot. Apply the acid to the wart or warts as per the instructions on the packet, then bandage. Repeat this process at least on a daily basis, and ALWAYS keep the area as clean and dry as possible. This is key to your success.
The other key to success is to persist. Salicylic acid takes its time working, and you may not see definitive results for two or three weeks. Keep up the treatment, and with luck you may have a complete cure.
If you do not get the result you want, talk to your doctor. He or she may recommend a stronger solution of salicylic acid to try. Over the counter solutions of this acid are typically less than 20%, while the prescription preparation may be 70% or more. Please exercise care in the use of this stronger solution.
If you get no relief with this simple home treatment, you may want to consider more powerful medical approaches, such as laser therapy or cryotherapy. Whatever you do, you must keep at it. Plantar warts can be persistent, and you may need all your patience to finally be rid of them.

Mole laser removal is just one among many treatment choices you have got when you have decided to get rid of a mole. Before you opt for this method, you owe it to yourself to arm yourself with basic information about what moles are, when they ought to be removed, and what your other options are.
Moles are usually not a threat to your health. They are simply dark spots of pigment that can appear anywhere on your body.
Generally, moles come in two types. First, the moles you may have been born with are rarely any trouble to your well being. They tend to remain the same shape, size and color for the whole of your life. Quite likely you have got several of these already.
Second, moles which appear later in life may appear gradually, and then go on to change shape, color or form. These have to be watched, as they may be the signal that something more serious is afoot.
Moles may be the precursor to skin cancer in some cases. If you are quite fair skinned and live or work in a very bright, sunlit environment, you should regularly check your body for any marks suddenly appearing.
All that said, most of us do not have to worry about our moles. They are naturally occurring events, and do not pose a risk.
So, given that the choice to remove a mole is largely a cosmetic one, which method should you choose?
The three main choices are laser treatment, cryotherapy and surgery. Each has its advantages and drawbacks, so let's look at each in turn.
Laser treatment is the use of a small, hand held laser to literally burn the mole off. It may be a relatively brief procedure or may be longer, depending on the size and depth of your mole.
Remember, a mole is not a growth on your skin, it is part of your skin, a small localized accretion of pigment. Getting rid of it with laser may require repeat treatments, and may entail the removal of a small but significant amount of tissue.
Cryotherapy literally freezes the mole off. Your specialist uses liquid nitrogen to freeze the mole and a small portion of tissue surrounding it. The dead, frozen mole is then removed by lancing it.
Finally, surgical excision is the most radical method. This will incur the greatest cost and time commitment, and you will resort to this only in those cases where you have a very large or noticeable mole and are anxious to be rid of it. Remember that this is a cosmetic, elective procedure, so before you dive into surgery, talk to your insurer as to whether you are covered, and consider options which might be cheaper but give the same result.
Laser treatment recommends itself for smaller, less deep moles. As I said above, you are looking at repeat procedures if your mole is quite deep.
Moreover, laser therapy does have some pain associated with it. The pain has been described as akin to an elastic band being snapped against the skin. It may be quite uncomfortable, depending on where your mole is and your level of pain tolerance. Talk to your specialist about local anesthesia to make the experience as comfortable as possible.
Finally, laser treatment is not necessarily cheap. While it has a good reputation for being a very clean, relatively scar-free solution to mole removal, it may cost you, particularly if you need repeat treatments.

Let's say that you own a small business that prints a monthly average of 20, 000 pages of text. At this rate of text printing, you need not invest on a high-end device to do the job. With mid-range monochrome laser printers, you can easily meet your business text printing demand for half of the cost of expensive laser printers. Despite the price range, these types of printers can be purchased with input and output trays with higher capacities. However, some companies offer this as an option for buyers.
Aside from high quality printing capability, monochrome laser printers have built-in Ethernet networking capability. Some are even capable of automatic duplexing to other networks. There are also monochrome laser printer models that are compact. In fact, some can even fit effortlessly on an office countertop. If your business tends to perform in-house printing jobs with more frequency, you can opt to upgrade your small monochrome laser printers via getting larger input trays. You can also upgrade your monochrome laser printer with duplexing units. With these upgrades, a simple and inexpensive monochrome printer can be capable of tasks that are usually done with larger and high-end printers.
For simple printing jobs such as printing text pages, monochrome laser printers are the best choice. This type of laser printer produces cleaner and amazingly sharper outputs than color lasers. In addition, operating a monochrome laser printer is much faster and more cost-effective compared to inkjet printers. This may be the reason why monochrome laser printers has outlived many inkjet laser printers as well as multifunction printers in the market.
Having the best available sources for monochrome laser printer information is the best way to choose a model or brand that would best suit your needs and of course, your financial capability. It is highly recommended that you read reviews from the best sites that provide regular monochrome laser printer reviews. Make sure that you opt for sites that fairly compare the specifics of the models as well as their respective price-ranges. Aside from comparing monochrome laser printer prices, it is also highly suggested to consider their speed, print quality, reliability, and warranty schemes. Another important set of buying considerations are the quality of the particular models' interpolated resolution, cartridges and paper paths.
Having an efficient and cost-effective monochrome laser printer will be an important edge to the smooth operation of your business. For a small business, the prospect of printing out thousands of text prints on a monthly basis can be a nightmare, especially if the printing device fails to perform well. Investing on high quality monochrome laser printers is an imperative if you aim for professional high quality text printouts for office and inter-office purposes. Bad quality text prints may leave a bad impression on your business among potential clients and business partners. Besides, purchasing high-quality monochrome laser printers for your business will not cost you much compared to inkjet printers. Be wise and very practical; invest on the best monochrome laser printers now!
