Wondering what is the best way to find a good reliable Plumber that you can trust is the last thing to be worrying about in the middle of a water emergency. Using some common sense and applying simple research will help to find the perfect plumber in no time at all.
More and more people are preferring to search online for plumbers. There is a wealth of information on the internet about local services, and sifting through the many providers should be focused and efficient. The first thing to look for is whether they have all their licenses, certificates and also insurance. Every legitimate plumber will have these things to prove they went to school and learned their trade.
After looking for licenses, make sure to find a plumber that is experienced in dealing with problems that are related to your immediate situation. There are many different types of plumbing experts that concentrate on specific services. Some of them work in big buildings, while others work in factories and others specialize in residential neighborhoods.
Once you've put together a small list of plumbers to look into, online research will provide the most information about their services and prices and reviews. You can get this information from making a few phone calls, but searching online takes less time.
If searching online, look for reviews of the plumber in question. This is a great way to learn about how others feel about their plumbing service, either good or bad. One drawback to doing phone research is that these reviews are not available. A good plumbing website will show the services they offer, general rates, and what guarantees they offer.
Now you have a list that you can work with. Call the services you discovered and explain your general issue. They should be able to give a ballpark estimate for your job in particular and set up a service appointment. Make an appointment with the most promising company and let them come over.
Many plumbers offer service guarantees, which means if they show up late or not at all, discounts or free services may be provided. When the arrive, let them perform an initial assessment and give an estimate of the cost of the job. Also ask how long it will take and what kind of guarantees are provided. A reputable plumber will always guarantee their work.
If the estimate is higher than you would like, feel free to set up an appointment with a different professional. Sooner or later the right plumber will show up who does the right work for the right price.
Remember that the customer only has to pay for work they agreed to, and a good professional will show you the costs of the job upfront so there is no surprises. While finding a professional plumber online provides the most information, calling a few up can do the trick as well. What is the best way to find a good and reputable plumber, online or in the phone book? It depends on the preference of the customer, but the important thing is to choose one that gets the job done at a good price with a solid guarantee.

How do you trust dentist when you get different opinions by different dentists is something that many of us have asked at one point or another about any service. But when its your dentist you'd assume that they would know what they are talking about. We may not like going to the dentist but its something that is essential and we aim for as simple a process as possible.
So if you go to the dentist and they tell you that the surgery or procedures that need to be done are lengthy or expensive you may want to get the opinion of another dentist. Never be worried about telling your dentist this, if they're genuine then they have nothing to worry about. By doing this you'll also be able to make a more informed and hopefully wiser choice about what really needs doing to your teeth or gums, if anything at all.
Off you go to another dentist then only to get told that the procedure you need to have done by the first dentist doesn't have to be that expensive or even worse that it doesn't really need to be done at all. Now you're wondering who to believe but there is usually a good reason for the differences. Some dentists may think that an uneven bite merely doesn't look nice whereas another may feel that it could have a negative affect on the health of your teeth or gums in the long run.
So this is where it boils down to opinion, dentist number one may feel that getting braces will just make your teeth look nicer and isn't necessary but if the unevenness does start to give you problems physically then they will do something about it, dentist number two may err more on the side of prevention and want to stop any chances of those problems ever occurring.
And now you're at a point where you need to make a decision, read up and do some research, look online or speak to people who have had similar procedures done. Ask both dentists the same questions, why does it need to be done? Can it be done cheaper or in another less invasive way? You should judge them on the answers they give you and if you feel they are being truthful or if what they say really makes sense or if it sounds like they're going for the most expensive options.
When you see a second or subsequent dentist that gives you different answers never be afraid to point out to them that another qualified dentist has told you something different. Explain what they said and ask that particular dentist if they can help by explaining why their opinion differs.
Unless it seems very obvious that a dentist is merely out to get your money the main reasons that dentists opinions may differ is that they may have been to different colleges or universities where the training was different. They may even prefer one technique over another such as preferring to use metal braces as opposed to using thin veneers.
So make sure to ask questions, do research and ask others who may go to the same dentists, did they feel like they were being pressurised into spending more than normal? If the answer is yes then its best to avoid that dentist.

After the advent of the Internet, many regular dating agencies were forced out of business. Up till the 1990s, anyone looking for dating help had no other choice than to use the services of a dating agency, however, these services were expensive and frequently not very helpful. Many clients complained the companies were more interested in making money than making matches. Enter online dating.
Once computers became a household fixture, online dating took off. Even people who shouldn't be looking were looking, causing an entire host of relationship issues! The ease of uploading photos and videos and filling out long unlimited profile information became popular vehicles for the dating scene. As technology continued to improve, video chatting and instant messaging became almost standardized ways to get in touch with people you were interested in. Some online services took even to a very advanced level where they created a very sophisticated matching system that can crawl thousands of profiles in the database and cross reference similar interests and personal preferences then recommend the best match, according to lots of users this system really worked well for them to find the right match, but there is not enough data about how the relationship worked down the road.
There are safeguards to be aware of, however. Many of these online services offer nothing more than a vehicle to post your information and search through their database. No one gets interviewed, no one is screened, and no one is verified. Basically, if you can type and have a computer, you can put anything you want into a profile, and we've all heard some horror stories about major misrepresentations in photos, ages, education, and everything else.
For anyone who is serious about meeting the perfect mate, or even someone with whom to have a casual dating relationship, it can be risky. Most people understand how important it is to be honest in their own representations - for logical reasons - yet it's astounding how many others don't believe the same. It's frustrating, disheartening, and sometimes just plain scary when the actual first date occurs only to find out you are with someone who has lied through his or her teeth.
How long should you wait before you agree to meet? It depends on your personal goals. Some people feel an immediate attraction and can't wait to meet. This is no guarantee of a long term relationship, but it frequently works out.
Others decide they want to rule out the losers right away and after a week or two of online chatting or even video chatting they decide they want to know more, or in other words, they want to know the truth. Whether you are meeting after a week or after three months, be on guard. There are some undesirables out there, yet there are some incredibly wonderful people as well.
Of course, if one night stands are your thing, you're really looking for an escort even if your goal is to actually attend a play or dinner party. Even though the word "escort" might carry some negative connotations, there are many decent escort services out there that are on the up and up.

It's actually never been simpler to order custom-made vinyl decals, football head protection graphics and other kinds of custom made signs. From custom wall lettering and magnetic signs to boat lettering and registration numbers, you are able to design your individual signage or have a staff of designers get it done to suit your needs with some unsophisticated clicks of the mouse button. Let us discuss half a dozen techniques for getting vinyl graphics on the Internet:
1. Timeliness is Key. The most reliable online sources for customized signs will make a commitment to providing the fastest on-demand publishing at the best prices. An online sign shop will be able to ship your order inside of three days of your approval of the final proof. For big orders, the shop ought to be prepared to give you a shipping date and work with you to reconcile your needs.
2. Easy Installing. Once you are given your customized vinyl decals, you should also get easy-to-follow installation recommendations. The top online companies supply you with some of the materials you'll need whenever your order surpasses $30 or so. In a similar fashion, the company ought to provide you with directions regarding how to take off customized vinyl graphics, in addition to how to care for your car or truck lettering.
3. Basic Design Steps. The sign provider you end up picking has to provide you an easy way to layout, design and finalize the custom product you want. A hospitable graphical user interface is the norm. This will allow you to key in written text and select options like fonts, dimensions, spacing, coloring, border, shadow, along with other effects. You should also be capable of upload your own company logo, images, and other graphic elements within the user interface. As you're generating your design, you should be able to preview it to be sure it is exactly what you wish.
4. Look for Versatility. A good online custom sign shop should be able to fill a variety of types of orders. When it comes to custom vinyl decals, for example, they should provide everything from rear window decals and custom wall graphics to auto decals and bumper stickers. Using a full-service online sign company will enable you to get all of your signage needs met, including those for vehicle lettering, custom signs, digital decals and custom banners.
5. Guarantees are a Must. There are numerous inferior goods in the marketplace, so the sign company you decide on ought to stand behind what they sell. Although the life-span of pick up truck decals and other signage may end up being cut by unfavorable weather conditions, you ought to receive at least a restricted one-year warranty against peeling, fading, or failure. This is not that large of deal in case you are simply looking for wall decals for kid's rooms.
6. Confidence. After you have identified the firm that delivers and supplies everything that you want, when you want it, start a personal connection with them on the telephone. Compliment the company's all round merchandise and tell them who you are. The next order of hard hat stickers or other signage or customized decals should be seen in a different way and presented even more attention from the ones that care about your association with them.
To be of assistance in locating some good Internet websites for you to start your research, here are several of the most commonly used phrases in search engines:
football helmet decals
bathroom signs
car window stickers
custom window decals
magnetic vehicle signs
vinyl printing
custom car magnets
hard hat decals
Using custom vinyl decals as well as other kinds of signs really are a marvelous way to publicize your company, express your own individuality while accessorizing your vehicle, and present best friends and family personalized gifts, such as John Deere decals. Once you discover a reputable sign firm, it is possible to take advantage of the latest technology and use their web-based tools to produce your personal masterpiece in the comfort of your home or workplace.

New mothers and fathers experience the challenge of purchasing a baby car seat for the last addition to the family unit. The below factors could help you in the event you fall in this fantastic moment of your life; welcoming a newborn child home.
It goes without saying purchasing a newborn car seat or toddler car seats is a really serious purchase. You need to inform yourself in advance of purchasing the car seat and realize what the important facts to consider are prior to the investment.
First off, you need to understand that your son or daughter's age and clearly its weight have a close relationship with the best infant car seat you need to purchase. Infant car seats currently have requirements subject to these aspects and are also influenced by state and federal regulations.
Child car seats are not simply just seats. You should understand that you need to adapt the car seat after the baby can hold up his head and once the body weight of the baby increases beyond the limit of the seat. Make an effort to put your baby facing the rear of the vehicle, it has been verified by numerous safety experts that this is the safest orientation. Make use of this positioning until your child's size or weight enables a forward facing orientation.
When you buy a baby car seat you need to understand that your little one will grow. As this occurs, you will have to alter the shoulder straps to a higher pair of slots of the seat, provided that the seat is adjustable. These straps must be above the shoulders of your child in a rear facing restraint. If your seat is a front facing model, the straps should be above, at the same level with your child shoulders.
Once your baby becomes a toddler and when he gets even larger you will need to keep in mind that once he is a federally as well as state mandated weight, you may use a grownup seatbelt if you purchase and install within your automobile a booster seat. If you do so, my advice is to put your child in the center of your car. That is definitely the safest location in your vehicle in the instance of a side impact. After you set up the seat, it is advisable that you use a child harness to safeguard and hold the toddler head and torso back.
Your kid is not going to love it and over time will attempt to persuade you to ignore safety and merely use a seat belt with no booster. Continue to keep putting an emphasis on the importance of correct safety and keep using what not only the law necessitates, but in addition that which is suggested to offer the safest conditions while driving in a automobile.
If at any stage you would like baby or child car seat accessories, you ought to be capable of locate products that could make the particular trip a little easier plus more comfy for your children. Take into account that accessories do not boost the safety, so choose to buy extra items, get the fundamentals in good order.

Have you ever wanted to let somebody know you were thinking of him? I frequently do. Recently I looked at the weather of my home state, Minnesota, on the Weather Channel. They were having a raging blizzard with a forecast of high winds and sub-zero temperatures for the high temperature the following day. It was so bad in Minneapolis that the weight of the snow collapsed the roof of the professional football stadium.
Currently living in the Southeast, I was experiencing fairly temperate weather at the time. As a side note, I invite a group of the Midwest gents down in February every year for a week of golf. The below is a close example of the email that I sent to the group to let them know how badly I felt about their current plight and to also whet their appetites for the February event:
So there I was at my computer this afternoon putting a few touches on my various websites, listing most of them on another composite site, shaking my head in disgust at my personal website (and refusing to deal with it), and doing some really wicked things promoting all of this mess when I found my eyes had crossed. I figured I could easily cure that malady with 12 ounces of elixir and some football.
Well, the 12 ounces went fine, but the football was lacking. Seems like the Minnesota Vikings stadium had some sort of mechanical problem, postponing the game. I glanced outside and witnessed a dearth of golfers on the course. This set the wheels in motion. There were three birds that I could knock off with one stone:
1. I figure that the golf season is almost at an end for those of you in the Midwest and if I could give you a play by play, you could vicariously play nine holes with me.
2. I could get my eyes uncrossed.
3. I could try out a new way to grip the club that I had recently read about.
On the flip side, it was frighteningly cold outside, just under 60 degrees. Additionally, the wind was howling at a horrendous pace of 25 MPH. Most of you don't understand winds that strong. Trust me, you can barely stand upright. Good news was that the greens had about a tenth inch of rain from the morning so should hold my incoming darts.
Tossing all of the above in a hat, I drew out the answer: I would grab my bag and stroll nine holes. There was still an hour of sunlight left. I succeeded in surmounting the final obstacle – Pain. I mentally overcame the throbbing pain in my right wrist, tendonitis in right elbow, arthritis in right shoulder, chronic lower back pain, grinding in right knee and both questionable Achilles. I had fleeting second thoughts as I feebly tried to tie my shoes with these arthritic fingers.
Once on the course, all was well until I took the first swing. Turns out that I only remembered about 25% of the guidance about the new grip techniques and I was too thick headed to give up trying it throughout the nine holes. Secondly, I was overdressed. You know me. My uniform of choice seven days a week is a t-shirt and dirty blue jeans. Being too lazy to change in case somebody that cared spotted me trespassing without a tee time, I just covered up with a rain suit. BIG mistake as I had to peel the sweat soaked clothes off upon return and am currently trying to cool back down.
I started out by tossing about 20 used, but pre-certified, balls that I had previously gleaned from my back yard in my bag. Turns out that one can really feel the weight difference in 13 balls. Yes, 13 disappeared over the course of the nine holes, but I managed to keep 7 of them from finding their way into the "lost" category. I used to think that the supply of balls I found in my backyard was inexhaustible, but it won't take long before I will have to visit Top-Flite City at WalMart if I keep this up. The provided golf card was deficient in that the squares for the hole scores don't accommodate double digits very well so I just went to marking hole scores with a single digit and an additional mark to signify I had to add 10 to that score later.
So there you go. That was about me trying to make you feel better because you were probably watching football today instead of doing yard work, golfing or shooting hoops at the playground. I was also wondering if you care to join me for a week of wonderful golf in a couple months. As you can tell, I won't be any competition due to failing body parts and you can easily take all the money in bets from me that you want.

You are only going to have one major golf vacation with your pals per year. Make it the best possible by designing it yourself. Forget the standard golf package and do it yourself.
In our last article we got to the minus two months point of your schedule. You have researched and found the ideal location, picked out the perfect house, sent out the word to your pals, and settled on the dates. By this time, you should have a confirmed group, any of which would just as soon lose their right arm as miss the event.
Let's lock in the rental house. You DO need to get this done as early as you can. If you are setting up your vacation during the off-season like I do, you are in the driver's seat. Talk directly to the property manager and negotiate a better rate. Here is a summary of my discussion a few weeks ago.
"Hey, Tiffany. Randall here. It's that time again but our group is smaller. We really like the house at ... but it is more than we need. We will be staying a full week. I figured the owner would rather have a bird in the hand and rent the house for a full week instead of taking the chance of renting it for just a couple days or not at all. We can afford $xxxx. I can pay you today."
The result of this little conversation was that she immediately lopped twenty percent off the advertised rate! You will never know until you ask. Shoot for about a thirty percent reduction and go from there. I slapped the deposit on my credit card and emailed the group. (Yes, I was looking for praise.) You can dust off the smaller details like arranging linens (if not provided in the rate) and final payment later.
Time to grab tee times. What I recommend is setting up early morning tee times for each day. You will have to get up earlier than you may like, but scheduling tee times around 8:00 to 8:30AM will accomplish several things, including:
Being close to first off the box on rain or frost delays (allowing a second 18).
Finishing your round early enough to grab a second 18 with lunch in between 18's.
Allowing easier to change to later tee times if desired rather than to move them earlier.
Over the Internet and by talking with local pros on the phone, you have come up the courses you want to play. As with the house, you DO need to get this done as early as you can so that you can get the tee times you want. When scheduling tee times, I prefer talking directly to the head pro. In general, you will find more flexibility on prices. Other bonuses like getting a second set of tee times while only paying for a replay fee are easier. The head honcho is also more likely to bend the rules to allow advanced tee times if you are beyond the time window normally allowed.
Granted, this may be your first time in the location you picked, but you can use about the same language as I do. I have just locked in our tee times for February. I associate myself with a golf course to let them know I am a "player" and the pros seem to be more deferential in talking with a "player". Here is a summary of a standard call:
"Hey Bucky, Randall from Snee Farm here. It's getting to be that time of the year again for our annual golf vacation. You have always treated us so well and given us such a great rate in the past. The guys love the challenge of your outstanding spread. I was just wondering if you fit us in again on February 23rd. We are looking to play 36 and would appreciate anything you could do for us."
With that or something similar as an opener, I forecast that you WILL get a great rate from most of the courses. Don't make a second set of tee times at this point unless you get them for just the replay fee. If you are playing during the on-season and want to play 36, you may have to make and pay for a guaranteed set of afternoon tee times. Some of the courses may have events already scheduled when you want to play that particular course. You may have to juggle this slightly and change already made tee times, so complete your tee time set up within a couple days.
Now you have your group, your house and your tee times. It is time to get down to real business. Now is the time to get the financial commitment. Send an email spelling out the accommodations and the tee times. Ask for your troops to send you at least half of what the final cost per man will be. Our total per man is normally around $900 for all the lodging, transportation, golf, food and beverages for the week.
Dining. In general we fix whatever breakfast we personally want, make sandwiches to eat between rounds, and fix our own gourmet supper (with loads of snacks to wreck our appetites during the entire day and night). To support all this, you will need to know what the group wants and prepare a shopping list. This year, I used a free survey website and built a fill-in-the-blank survey for the troops.
You can use surveymonkey like that or ask the same questions in an email. With your shopping list built, you will either grab the goodies before the flights of the group arrive if you live locally, or have the troops assist on the way to your house.
You are now at the minus one month point of building the perfect golf vacation. The next article will provide recipes, administration details, entertainment ideas, and odds and ends.

*********************** ARTICLE START ***********************
It's just like the hamburger commercial; Have it your own way! Your annual golf outing deserves to be the best possible vacation. Make it your own way. Forget "the package" and design your own special, personalized group get away.
In my last article, I gave an overview of how you can put together a terrific group golf vacation. In this article, I will go into much more detail concerning the organization and preparation. I have been setting up the ideal gathering for our group for 18 years. There are refinements every year and we think we have arrived at the optimum outing.
You will be driving this bus, so get the ball rolling. Do a little research and pick a location. This location should have plenty of vacation rental homes and a good selection of golf courses. You do not want to play the same course every day. You should be able to do most or all of your research online to find out about rental house and golf course specifics, including costs.
Get the word out to the troops. I like to send out a humorous email to introduce the event and then follow up with more emails and phone calls. I recommend you send out an email to everyone you think might be remotely interested about five months in advance. Some will not be able to make it due to family, work, interest, etc. You should hope to wind up with a group size around eight. Anywhere from six to twelve is great. Five people is the worst group size due to tee times. More than twelve is too hard to organize or find lodging in the same house.
Pick out a window of time. We usually grab the last week in February to get the northern gents out of the snow and still stay in the low rate season for the southern golf courses. As an example of an introductory email, you could send something like this:
"It has come to my attention via the minions who surround me and perform my every whim that there may be those among you desiring driving sleet, incomprehensible wind chill, unplayable lies, unreachable par 3's, impossible odds, foot-wedging opponents, gross bending of the USGA rules, hairy greens, thick frost, lightening fast down-hillers, moguls, knee deep rough, more sand and water than water front property, Velcro removal during back swings, exploding coughs during precision chips, un-winnable stroke spreads complete with unyielding stroke givers and takers, 179-degree dog legs, and brutal rangers in leather and chains.
If this is the type of outing you've been dreaming about, keep dreaming. I can't make it happen. But picture this:
- A luxurious house with a separate bed for everyone.
- 18 to 36 holes of golf per day on pristine courses.
- A gourmet meal every night.
- All the comforts, food and drink of home.
- Evening entertainment.
- Sensational camaraderie.
I am looking at an arrival date of (date) and departure date of (date). We will be gathering in (city, state). For a group of eight of us, and assuming we average 27 holes per day, your cost should be around $XXX for the housing, food, drink, golf and rental cars. (Note: Our cost per man for food and drink for seven days was $160 in 2005.) Please reply before (date) by answering:
What is the percentage chance you can come for these dates?
What is the percentage chance you could make other dates?
What dates would you prefer?
Other recommendations:"
You have now set the stage. For those you don't hear back from, get on the phone and hash it out. Through all of your responses, you will come up with the consensus of length of vacation and dates through give and take.
Over the next four months you will be:
- Getting firm commitments from your group members
- Arriving at a firmer consensus on golf venue
- Receiving food and drink orders to allow you to make the shopping list
- Reserving the vacation house and rental cars
- Getting tee times
I like to periodically whet everyone's appetite and keep the excitement level up. Setting up a website especially for your group is a great way to do this. I stripped down the one I use and put an example up at http://www.eye-mind-tricks.com/golf for your review. It is just a little thing I whipped up using MS Publisher. An easier way for you to do this would be to get a free Blog set up for this purpose. I recommend blogger dot com.
Over the years, we have realized two key things about lodging. The first is that it makes a huge difference in camaraderie when the whole group stays under the same roof. The second is the value in everyone having a separate bed (you know how guys are). The only way to achieve this is to pick a location where there are a bunch of rental homes in order for you to pick one that allows this. (Plug for Isle of Palms, SC: you can find what you need there.)
It may not seem to you like time is of the essence, but work schedules, vacation allotments, spousal plans, ticket costs, and your preparation needs demand that you DO get this ball rolling. Once you have sent your introductory email and done your phone calling, several of your planned guests will have trouble pulling the trigger. Work with them as you can, but I have found that you will need your firm group established two months ahead of time (give or take one guy or so.) A fine point for you: Ask for a nominal deposit from each of the troops. Over time, I know that the cost of our vacation, outside of airfare, will be around $900. In one of my follow up emails, I simply ask the players to send around half of that to me. It emphasizes commitment.
In selecting the location of your rental home, consider the driving time to the golf courses you will be playing. We have found that twenty minutes travel time is great, thirty minutes is OK, but forty minutes is too long. The longer drives are certainly bearable, but if you are planning a winter vacation, you will have to have a fairly early tee time in the morning to allow lunch and another 18 in the afternoon. After telling tales late into the evening, beating the sun to the course, heading home and preparing the feast, it gets to be a long day.
This takes us to the minus-two-months time frame.
In Part Three of this series, we will get into getting great golf rates, shopping lists, and easy administration.

You have got to love soap operas. From the intricate plots and finely woven webs of deceit, to the depths of schemes, they were, are and always will be classics. They are timeless. I wrote this article as my take on them back in 1970 when filling white space for our high school paper. Watch a few soap operas for the next few days and see for yourself how closely they resemble the soap operas of 36 years ago...
And now for that thought provoking question that plagues men's souls unceasingly through the bright shining of the day and through the untold dark depths of the night:
Why did Peter, who in reality is actually Superman, fake that he stubbed his toe on the 17th stone on the sidewalk starting at 4th and Grand instead of the 16th stone, which was bigger and more logically the victim of that invulnerable toe and why did Marlys take Sam's advice to buy the yellow tulip instead of the red and green carnation, while all the time Rodregus knew that the curvaceous young Pandora was at the moment buying the last purple, double-breasted, duck-billed, warbling giraffe in the world for her dear departed Phillip disguised as a lowly second mate on the Queen Mary, which was under attack by the tyrant Cedric because of the terrible beating he had suffered at the hands of Radcliff whose ex-wife Natalie was actually Percival's long lost great-great-uncle Maximillian in disguise who knew that Zigmond was fond of un-pitted olives stuffed into green grapefruit filled graciously with Granny and Gretchen's goulash, which was gradually getting gooey and who also knew of Jennifer's contact Louella in the deep Congo, seized at the time by the dread Gardenia, the 7th cousin of Guenivere, in hopes of receiving the eight-ounce bottle of Elmer's Glue stored in the vast files in the cortex of Courtney's colossal computer complex carefully compiled to correct the current curling, commonly crusading as the contagious, communicable, crystalline, cucumber crud, carried on cue sticks by crying cuckoo clock birds continuously to conform with the cunning Cornelius' cumbersome plot to corrupt the currency and continue the crisis of the Cormandel Coast Cult, complicated by the coroner Cort's corny connotation to conceal his consecutive coronary contractions constantly crippling his conscious efforts to contradict congenial counterparts' careful counterfeit correspondence with Corwyn, the cosmic cosmetician?
Was it because Bill had green eyes or was it because Melissa meddled menacingly and meticulously in Maude's plans to read the calendar to see what year she had been sent to by her superiors in the future?
Tune in tomorrow for the exciting climax created by another deep question.

Close your eyes and think back to the 60's and 70's. Remember the high-spirited drivers that bought and drove the muscle cars? This may help - -
Donut: Definition - Circular design produced on a road surface by a vehicle's tires when they are rotating with a greater angular velocity than the road under them.
As the name implies, the basic shape is round but many options exist. In fact, even the straight burn out has been called a donut. Spirals, checkmarks, hooks, sweeps, etc. have been chosen to make a statement and named "donut" over the years. Whichever is planted on the road, the car tires must revolve faster than the road surface and leave a lasting mark.
The art of creating donuts dates to the caveman following the discovery of the wheel. Some spirited young man got himself a set of wheels and spun them, making a mark in the dust, thus originating a very simple donut. Later the baker's confection, a doughnut, was named after the original donut because of its shape.
Through the years, "wheels" have become more and more complex so that today all one has to do is mash an accelerator to get the desired effect. All a person must do is climb into an automobile with sufficient torque, cramp the wheels and fully depress the accelerator. One may go with the 180-degree turn, or "bat-turn", or one may stay with the usual 360 degree, full turn donut. This is left to the discretion of the hot rodder. (Note: It was a lot easier a few decades ago when there were no front-wheel drive cars.)
These pleasing circuitous marks are most often seen at intersections or on wide roads, although the art may be performed at any location. The longevity of a donut depends on various factors. When left on cement or asphalt, the duration of the artistic statement can be extended by leaving more of the tire on the road and bonding it with the road surface with high heat. High power and warm weather will allow a large amount of Goodyear to remain on display for extended periods of time.
Longevity of a donut on a gravel or dirt road depends on the frequency of road maintenance, road consistency and the perseverance of the donuteer. For example: If a road only gets graded monthly, is lightly packed with limited traffic, and the artist wants to make a profound statement, he can revolve for several rotations and really carve out a beauty. That being said, he will still tip his hat to the chap that put 20,000 miles worth of tire wear in an expression on a hard surfaced road.
The donut is invariably created at some time in the life of every young driver with a fair amount of horsepower under the hood. Some, of course, employ this means of unparalleled entertainment and thrills more than others. Most, however, will grab their initial "chirp" and retire to a lifelong adventure of sedate driving.
Many young, ace donuteers live just for the thrill of outdoing one another. If Joe Car can go around more times and leave more of his Firestones on the road than Tom Auto, he is the better. The only way to dethrone him as King of the fast turn-about is to plant more rubber on the road with more expression and thus the never-ending circle (pun intended) continues.
This process of getting kicks is much appreciated by the auto repair industry and tire manufactures around the world. Donuteering is frowned upon by fathers, mayors, officials, and elderly people not accustomed to the ear splitting but beautiful scream of tortured rubber being flayed on hard surfaced roads.

Putting is a combination of the mind, reading and execution. I have maintained my 12 handicap over the last twenty years simply by increasing my prowess on the green, while age has negatively impacted most of the other parts of my game. This article deals with the second aspect of the putting triad, reading greens.
A golf green is like a book, not a sentence. If you are on a strange course and didn't take a couple minutes on the practice green, it is like you are opening up a mystery novel at chapter 14 instead of the first page. That's fine if you want to learn the "plot" during the next few chapters/greens, but your score and countenance will reflect your early confusion.
Let us assume that you took a little time on the practice green before assaulting the course. Do not try to fix flaws in your putting technique during your few minutes practicing. Instead, determine two things:
1) The speed of the green (stimp)
2) How much the ball breaks at that green speed.
So instead of concentrating on draining putts, get a solid feel for the speed. Try various distances along with uphill, downhill and side hill. Remember how much your ball breaks on your regular course. The amount of break for the same grade on a different course is linear with the difference in speed.
Example: If you have to putt 20% softer on this different course, your ball will break 20% more for a given length of putt. Why? Gravity has that much more time to pull your ball downhill because you had to hit it slower. A ten-inch break on your home course will now break twelve inches.
Ok, we are on the course and you have hit the green with your approach shot. As you walk toward the green, take in the whole scene. Greens are built to shed water, not to hold it and have water pool every time the green is watered or when it rains. There is a scheme to remove water from all greens. Look over the whole green to see where to water will run off. This can be more than one place. Hint: On hilly or mountainous courses, 95% of the time water will flow away from the hill.
If there is a pond, stream, etc. near the green, the water run-off scheme will almost always be designed to allow water to eventually drain to it. Ever hear the phrase, "Breaks toward the water"?
Greens are also generally built to make us feel good, so most will have a slant toward the tee box in order to better hold approach shots. Beware of the slope of the green near greenside bunkers. There will normally be some slope away from the bunker for a distance.
Now you are on the green and "reading". I always walk all the way up the line, read from behind the hole, then walk down the other side of the line and read from behind the ball towards the hole. Your feet and balance during this trek will tell you more than any other thing. If I have any questions remaining, I have no problem trampling right up my line to get a better feel. Let us be honest. When is that last time a footprint deflected your ball?
Hopefully one or more of the other players in your group will have to putt before you. Caution: All putting strokes are different. Some players cut the ball, some hook, some bounce or backspin, some decelerate. But watching all these putts will help you. It doesn't matter if they are on your line or not. The most value you get will be watching what happens to their balls around the hole. Example: If someone putts well off your line and the ball slows quickly, his putt was uphill and yours will have to break toward him at the hole.
Other terrific clues to help you determine the slant of the green along your line are background structures and terrain. Look for houses, lakes, ocean, and horizon. All of these are true to the world.
Early in the day, you may still have dew on the greens for several holes, even after they were mowed. The marks left in the dew by previous putts will help to some extent. You will not be able to tell if these putts were blown by the hole in many cases, so just get the trend from the marks.
We need to address grain of the grass. My opinion of grain: Most announcers love to talk about it on TV because it is a nuance that most amateurs don't think about, care about or know much about. The announcers talk about it like newscasters hype hot stories. The problem is, the more attention you pay to grain, the less attention you pay to factors that actually mean something. When you begin to get helped by dealing with the grain, join the Hooters Tour.
Should you play the wind? Unless it is howling, wind is a very minor factor influencing your ball on the green. Put your hand down next to the green to prove to yourself how much the wind on your face gets knocked down all the way down to the ground. I think you will find the effect will always be less than one inch along a twenty-foot putt.
All of these factors are going to work on your subconscious and you will generally develop a "gut feel". As I talked about in a preceding article, you must not discount this feeling. You can read the green. Begin your focus immediately following your approach shot to the green. Use all the clues and believe in your skill. You CAN read greens!

"What If You Could... Have the perfect group golf vacation, save money and have a sensational time setting it up?"
You've waited all year to get together with your friends for your annual golf vacation. It was supposed to be perfect, but you bought "the package" and your outing turns out to be simply adequate.
You all had such high hopes, but you had to take what you got.
Sound familiar? Have you been on the receiving side of a less than perfect golf vacation that you have been waiting for all year? In all fairness, most golf packages are good. Some are great. But they truly are packages designed for the mass market with little flexibility and no individual flair.
A standard golf vacation package provides lodging and one round of golf per day, including a cart. The lodging usually means motel or hotel accommodations with two people per bedroom. In most cases, you can choose from several different courses, and select your advance tee times. They will even throw in a continental breakfast. The prices are fair.
Again, this yields a good or great vacation, but we need to discuss the perfect vacation. Envision:
- A beautiful vacation house with a separate bed or bedroom for each person.
- Gourmet dining each evening.
- As much or as little golf as you want, where you want and when you want.
- Evening entertainment.
- Maximum camaraderie.
I have been setting up this type golf vacation for my old high school and college friends every year since 1988. Over those 18 years, we have refined Our Event to what we think is the perfect annual outing. Our first few years were terrific even though we had to keep the costs down. Despite inflation, the cost has been fairly stable for the last four years. We have settled on a full seven days, Saturday to Saturday.
In general, we plan for 36 holes per day, and modify that in situ to wind up with an average of about 27 holes per day. We buy most of the food and beverages the day of arrival to support breakfast, snacks, sandwiches between rounds, and gourmet evening meals for the week. Our smallest group was five gents one year, and the largest group was sixteen. The perfect size is anywhere from eight to twelve.
The above is our perfect golf vacation, not necessarily yours. For yours, look at the general goals below for the ideal golf outing:
- Get the ball rolling early.
- Have everyone stay in the same house that has a full kitchen.
- Get the shopping list together ahead of time.
- Have a general schedule and loose assignments.
Get the ball rolling. Pick out a window of time and get the word out to everyone you think might be interested OR not interested (next year, they may be). I send a fun, whimsical email about five months ahead of a proposed block of time. It is written such that the wives enjoy the comedy as much as the guys. If you are not a writer, there are examples in my upcoming free Ebook. It will take you through setting up and conducting the whole event from scratch.
Follow up emails get commitments and solicit recommendations and special requests. Armed with all this, you will select the ideal house, set up tee times, and arrange rental vehicles. Further emails from you will ask what food, snacks and beverages they will want during the outing. Here is a good timeline:
- 5 months: Announce.
- 3 months: Receive all commitments and solicited recommendations.
- 3 months: Let everyone know when to fly in to coordinate travel.
- 2 months: Arrange house, tee times and rental cars.
- 1 month: Receive all food, snack, and beverage requests.
- 1 month: Confirm house, tee times and rental cars.
- 1 week: Finalize food and beverage list.
Zero hour: Have the time of your life.
House with a full kitchen. This allows several things:
- Preparing your own evening meal. Every group has at least one "chef".
- Rehashing the day as a group (yes, this includes an appropriate amount of trash talk and begging for strokes on upcoming rounds.)
- Having evening entertainment as a group. We watch a sports event on TV, watch videos, play cards, tell tales and get caught up, or all of the above.
- Getting sandwiches, snacks and beverages ready for the next day.
You will have almost as much fun setting up this event as you will have during your vacation. I set up a little eight page website with history, photos, schedule, past scores, etc. to hold everyone's interest and attention throughout the year. I will provide that in my free Ebook.
You can think about bringing a laptop and uploading each day's results on your website so that the unfortunate people that did not make the trip can live vicariously by following the daily action. An idea that our group has not yet acted on is to have a masseuse come in one evening later in the week to help our aging muscles.
Building your own special vacation not only allows you to really tailor your outing to your group's taste, but also allows you all to get together as a true group for a great week of camaraderie. As a bonus, it should wind up being less expensive!

*********************** ARTICLE START ***********************
Several years ago my life style changed. Instead of pouring many hours per day into work and home maintenance, I started laying back. Since I have always loved most types of food and enjoyed a good food presentation, I turned the page of my life and started looking into preparing meals myself.
Like most aspiring new home chefs, I started slowly and began with stir-frying. I then moved into slow cookers. The next venture was into casseroles and baked dishes. (Outdoor grilling was always going on, but I expanded that into rotisserie items and different meat products and veggies.)
When it got to where I was using the stovetop more, I realized the dramatic difference among our existing pots and pans. In general I found the following (remember that I am talking about electric range cooking):
Our ancient copper bottom pots were outstanding in heat distribution and heat conduction. This pertains to both coil burners and glass top range burners. The drawback was that over time the bottom of the pots warped enough that they would not sit flatly on the burners. This was most obvious on the glass top burners. That being said, if I am grabbing a pot, I most frequently will grab one of this copper bottom pots and deal with it rocking on the burner.
Our stainless pots distributed the heat fairly enough, but the conduction of heat was far inferior to the copper bottom pots. The strong point about these stainless pots is that they have maintained their true bottom shape and you could shoot a laser sight over the bottom and not find a flaw. This feature is most welcome on our glass top burners. The construction also tends to be more substantial allowing for a magnificent cover fit. This allows lower settings to be used once the food is the temperature you wish it.
Cast iron cookware, specifically our Le Creuset Cast Iron Cookware: Now this is a different beast. Here are my two personal dislikes. 1) I like to be able to grab the handle of my skillet and move the skillet around the burner, raise it up to temporarily remove from the heat and raise it to flip/toss the ingredients. To do that with as cast iron skillet, you have to have a pretty manly wrist and even then be prepared to ice your wrist down later. This is work! 2) The handle gets hot if you have been cooking much time at all. I don't much care for using a heat mitt to handle my cookware. The good feature of this particular brand is that it is expensive and any observer will think you know what you are doing.
That brings us to non-stick cookware. My impression is that if people did not love non-stick, every household in the country would not have one. This type of cookware is POPULAR and for good reason. You can cook just about anything and not have to use anywhere close to the amount of grease as the other types AND the clean up brings a smile to your face. A drawback is that pot and skillet warping exists. The poor heat distribution and conduction exists also, but to simply fry an egg, burger, minute steak, sauté anything, etc. etc. and clean the cookware with a wipe and a little wash is just too pleasing.
In overview, if you are familiar with what your cookware can and will do, you are miles ahead of those trying to make something work that they think they should be using but can't. As Dirty Harry so aptly put, "A man's got to know his limitations".

Article Title: The Facts About the Pombero a Creature of Cryptozoology

The Pombero remains to be one of the most famous and infamous monsters throughout the world. This creature stems from the Gurani mythology which describes it as mythical humanoid monster that is relatively small in size. Its relevance in the cultures of South American countries such as Brazil, Paraguay and Argentina has grown through the year as is its legendary status across the globe.
Kurahy Jara is the original Gurani name of the Pombero which literally translates to "owner of the sun." Oddly enough, the Pombero is actually known as a creature of the night. In a number of regions in Argentina, this creature also goes by the name "Dueno del Sol," which is a Spanish translation of its name. There have been hundreds, if not thousands of sightings of the Pombero through the years, primarily in different native communities in Argentina.
While different villages may have slightly varying descriptions of the Pombero, they all agree that the creature is small, ugly, and has hairy feet and hands. Most sightings also claim that the Pombero even wears a hat and carries a backpack over his small shoulders. Majority of reports say that this creature is known to reside in rural areas, such as the forest, but has also been known to inhibit houses that have long been abandoned.
What may be a relief for most is that the Pombero is generally known to be a harmless creature. While he may be a bit of a troublemaker, his primary targets remain to be rural farmers. Even so, the mischief he performs is somewhat light and childish as compared to other mythical monsters. This may include scattering rice and corn, startling horses, stealing honey, chickens, and eggs, as well as setting cattle loose. However, there are some communities that have more serious accusations towards this creature such as raping and impregnating single women in their sleep.
As mentioned earlier, there have been tons of sightings of the Pombero over the years. However, very few, if any, documented photographs or videos exist simply because this creature is very elusive. Aside from the fact that it is quite small, it is said that its hairy feet allows it to move stealthily through the jungle unheard and undetected. If this doesn't do the trick then the Pombero can use its supernatural abilities and turn itself invisible or even squeeze through the narrowest of spaces.
While this creature still has its fair share of skeptics, it is quite illogical to deny its existence. The mere fact that there have been a myriad of sightings in different geographical locations, all pointing to the same creature should be enough to turn any critic.
There is a website that describes the Pombero and numerous other creatures of Cryptozoology in detail, this website is called: Unknown Creatures and it may be found at this url: http://www.unknown-creatures.com
You may publish this article in your ezine, newsletter or on your web site as long as it is reprinted in its entirety and without modification except for formatting needs or grammar corrections.

Millions of homeowners have a great opportunity to improve the value of their houses, and they don't even realize it. One of the best ways to ensure that your home maintains its value is to look into finishing the basement areas. While this sounds like an easy task, it should be noted that the "DIY" route is not recommended here. In fact, it's best to let the professionals handle this to ensure that there is an attention to several details. When it comes to taking care of this level of a domicile there are several reasons why you should let an expert handle it. The following are just some of the simple reasons that you'll want to consider before hiring anyone.
Sealing the Basement - Mother Nature is unpredictable and therefore you should not leave anything to chance. If you leave things to chance, you could end up with a flooded home fast. It's for that reason that sealing things today is important. Make sure that you're working towards getting this done while there is no crazy weather going on, so that when the changes arise you're ready for the absolute worst.
Mold Inspection and Removal - It's imperative that all areas are inspected for mold and if the test is positive, removal be pursued fast. You absolutely need to ensure that you have no mold in the house because it can prove deadly. Studies have shown that if breathed in, the spores from mold that has been created due to water damage can be deadly to the body. There is no odor to it and many times you can't even see it, which makes it that much more dangerous. An expert can test, remove and improve the homes areas by taking care of any issue related to mold.
Wet Basement - If you have a wet basement, something has gone awry. You could try to track down the issue yourself and hope for the best, or you could look for someone that knows what they are doing to help you out. Hiring a professional service can not only give you the right solution, but also prove to be valuable in searching for leaks and repairing them with experience. It's hard to mimic experience, which is why it's imperative that you hire a business that knows what to do when a wet area is found.
The above 3 reasons why you should look into hiring a pro for your basement are just a few of the many things you should be considering. No matter what you do to help protect your house from the elements, you'll find that the above are universal in assisting. If you don't plan ahead of schedule, when the weather starts to change and shift, you could end up having to deal with costly repairs. A bit of prevention is far better than having to deal with the results of unexpected patterns of rain, snow, sleet or high winds. Don't wait for Mother Nature to come through with a surprise be ready for just about anything.

When it comes to making sure that your home is protected against the elements, it becomes imperative that you look to cover yourself against the unknown. Sure, you could brace a great deal of the home for regular things that could come through the season changes, but what if there is something small that eats away at your home without you knowing it? That's what water can do in small instances. All it takes is a small crack to start getting serious issues in the foundation of your home and that leak that is nothing more than a few drops can seep into the basement, and cause serious health and unwarranted damage due to mold and beyond. It's for that reason that you should invest heavily in basement waterproofing today. There are a few reasons why this matter, and exploring them will give you a little bit more information on why you should do it sooner than later.
First and foremost, it's imperative that you try not to do t his on your own. You'll need to contact a professional to come in and get this done properly. If you do not hire an expert, you could end up dealing with a variety of issues that would otherwise not manifest. Once you've decided to go the route of hiring a contractor, the rest should be something that is common sense.
Water Damage - What people don't realize is that water doesn't need to flood a basement to be problematic. All that there needs to be is a small trickle, even a few drops here and there. In time the water accumulates and starts to rot out the walls. The rotting can cause severe damage. Not only will the damage be something visible, it can produce mold spores. If mold is found in your home, and anyone in the family breathes it, health issues will ensue. It could even cause death in some patients, which is why it's important to seal off the area.
Flooding - When dealing with the elements, flooding is possible when you have a subterranean floor. This will cause serious problems for those that aren't protected during the rainy seasons. You never know when the waters will rise and cause havoc for the home, so with that in mind make sure that you seek out professional basement waterproofing so that you don't get flooded and have to deal with the repairs that are associated with this.
Peace of Mind - No matter how old your home is, no matter how long you've lived in your house, make sure that you have peace of mind by hiring a professional to help you with the overall interior of the home. By sealing off the basement from outside options, you will rest easy when the storms arise or when mother nature sends down the worst weather you can imagine.
The above reasons are just some basic things to consider when looking at your basement and wanting to ensure it stays dry and free of any mold or issues. Don't wait for the weather to shift, take care of this today.

Playing your saxophone in tune with others in your band requires much more than simply playing a reference note into a tuner and adjusting the mouthpiece on the instrument. In order to really understand the tuning process and how best to tune your saxophone it helps to know the physics behind the sound that you produce while playing. When we are talking about physics and the saxophone we are dealing in the realm of invisible vibrations called sound waves.
To better understand these sound waves it helps to think about a guitar string. When you pluck a note on a guitar the string vibrates at a specific rate or "frequency." The length of this string dictates what frequency the string will vibrate at. By moving your finger up and down the fretboard you can change the pitch to any of a dozen or so pitches. Now think about a fretless guitar. Instead of a dozen pitches you could potentially have hundreds of pitches, each very slightly different that the other. Saxphones behave in this same way but use a vibrating column of air instead of a vibrating string.
When you add or subtract fingers on the saxophone you are changing the overall length of the tube, creating shorter or longer sound waves in the process. Many things can affect this resultant wave. A key that is not adjusted properly can partially close over an open hole causing all notes above that key to be slightly flat. Likewise a key that is left open when it should be closed can make other notes out of tune or at the very least sound less focused.
Two saxophones that are not perfectly tuned to each other will always vibrate at different frequencies even when playing the same note. When two sound waves of the exact same frequency are played together they reinforce each other creating a stronger, more pleasing overall sound. When two pitches are slightly out of tune they occasionally collide with each other causing a disturbance in the combined wave form. This phenomena creates audible "beats" or bumps in what the listener hears. Each bump in the combined sound is literally the two sound waves slamming into each other. It is often easier to understand this process by seeing it visually. Take a look at the examples shown at http://library.thinkquest.org/19537/Physics.html.
As a saxophone player it should be your goal to learn how to play your instrument in perfect tune. Unfortunately this requires more than simply tuning your concert A or B-flat. Now that you know a little about the physics of sound however, you can begin to understand the inherent pitch problems of your saxophone and relate this to your overall performance and study routine.

For fashion enthusiasts, a fashion career can seem like a dream job; an opportunity to influence society and change the way a nation dresses for the day and evening. A fashion career can certainly be fascinating - allowing you to make creative choices every day, work with your hands, and mix in social circles filled with the rich and glamorous. But don't let it ever be said that a fashion career does not require a significant amount of hard work – and a vast amount of skill.
Entering a fashion career begins with an innate ability to create unique and functional clothing styles and effectively communicate them on paper. For those for whom this ability comes naturally, it is important to supplement their skills with a formalized education. It is essential that anyone interested in a fashion career attend an accredited fashion schooling program that will address the fundamentals of fashion including design, drawing, textiles, sewing, and manufacturing. This fashion career education will be the core of your training on which you can lay the groundwork for experience.
Experience is ultimately the key when it comes to a fashion career. Following school – or even during – it is imperative that you begin a fashion career with an internship or apprenticeship with an established design house. Building a reputable portfolio that demonstrates your talent, skill, and experience is paramount to making a name for yourself in this competitive industry. Work with people for whom you have a respect and learn as much as you can while you have the opportunity. Even better, reputable designers operate within a vast network of equally talented people; you will often have the opportunity to meet and work with other designers as you go.
Building experience such as this can often jumpstart your fashion career and allow you to begin working on independent projects. More importantly, you will build a reputation for yourself and that is, by far, is the most significant thing you can achieve in order to be successful.
For those who have the ability, drive, and determination, a fashion career can be an amazing journey filled with success, self-satisfaction – and great clothes!

Choosing a preschool for your youngster can be challenging; and the first decision of many to come regarding their education. Determining the program that will best meet your child's needs is by far the most important thing. Whether this can be accomplished by sending your child to a private preschool is something that only you can research and decide.
In many cases, private preschool is the only choice available to parents. Preschool programs that are offered through the school district are often only available to children who are in need of special services in order to prepare them for Kindergarten. Children can receive speech, occupational therapy, physical therapy, and specialized learning environments through programs such as these.
Towns that offer district funded preschool programs for the general population are few and far between. But certainly, if they are offered, this can be a wonderful way to introduce your pre-Kindergarten child to school in a much less formal environment where they can learn to socialize and follow the directions of teachers, as well as mastering skills necessary to be successful in Kindergarten.
However, as is most often the case, a choice to send a child to preschool means the choice between a variety of private preschool programs. Deciding between them depends largely on curriculum, schedule, and price.
There are a number of private preschool programs that are offered through churches and synagogues that offer both religious based and non-denominational programs. For a family who is already involved with a particular church program, this may be the perfect fit for private preschool as it offers the child a level of familiarity. Most often, private preschool programs of this nature are less expensive then their competitors.
Other private preschool programs are independent programs that offer a variety of experiences. It is most important that you and your child feel comfortable within the school and that you, as a parent, are satisfied with the school's safety measures, curriculum quality, diversity, teacher qualifications, and school accreditation. The schedule should also meet your family's needs, as should the price.
A private preschool program can offer your child an educational and social head start, equipping them with the tools necessary to be successful in Kindergarten and, hopefully, instilling in them a love for learning that lasts throughout their lives.

Most of us take for granted the myriad of activities we perform on a daily basis – walking, running, and climbing stairs, among others. But for those who face physical challenges on a daily basis, the most commonplace of activities can be either difficult or impossible. For those who are wheelchair bound, climbing stairs is simply out of the question and a variety of accommodations must be relied upon on a daily basis. While ramps and elevators are standard in most public buildings today, there often still exists the necessity for further equipment to help in the management in stairs. In many cases, a vertical wheelchair lift can serve an enormous benefit for those who are physically challenged.
A vertical chairlift is either electric or hydraulic powered and allows those in a wheelchair to stay in their wheelchair while being elevated to a higher level. A vertical chairlift can be used in a variety of situations, including in the event of an elevated front porch of a home, a stage in an auditorium, or the interior of older public buildings where elevators are too small to handle a wheelchair. In fact, many older buildings – in an effort to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act guidelines – choose to install a vertical wheelchair lift rather than a ramp due to its logistical advantages.
There are several different models of the vertical wheelchair lift; the enclosed model includes a platform on which the wheelchair can sit and around which walls enclose the area before elevation begins. This is especially useful in outdoor areas where changing weather conditions can compromise safety. The shaftway vertical wheelchair lift model fits within walls much like an elevator and can be used in both public buildings and residential homes. The STAAGE model includes only a platform and is often used for shorter elevations such as raising a wheelchair to the height of a platform or handicapped accessible vehicle. An OPAL vertical wheelchair lift resembles an enclosed model with walls on either side but does not feature a "ceiling" enclosure.
A vertical wheelchair lift can mean a life of independence and activity for those who are physically challenged. Whether it's installed in the interior of a home or put to use in a public building as a service to its guests, a vertical wheelchair lift can bring transformation to many people's lives.

In common office folklore, we all meet around the water cooler to swap gossip and compare notes. While, this may be a bit of an overstatement, the drinking water cooler is, in fact, a central figure in both offices and homes – always available for a refreshing break in the day.
The office drinking water cooler maintains its popularity simply because of its convenience. No matter when you're in need of a drink throughout the day, you only need to walk down the hall and refill your cup. More importantly, it provides a healthy alternative to office vending machines that offer high calorie soft drinks. While a caffeinated soda may seem like a good way to get through the day, the truth is that water will go a lot further to keeping you awake and on-task. Savvy water drinkers know that it's water that makes them feel energized – not endless coffee.
Many offices will also carry a drinking water cooler that provides hot water as well as cold. This can be a great amenity for morning or midday herbal tea drinkers who don't have access to a kettle at the office.
The reasons that the drinking water cooler has fans at the office are the same reasons it is just as popular in the home. More and more people have turned to the drinking water cooler for a ready supply of clean, refreshing water. While most public water supplies are clean, healthy, and adequate for drinking, some carry toxins, that while unseen to the naked eye, compromise the quality of the water. And bottled water that is purchased in large quantities can be expensive and difficult to store.
For this reason, more and more people choose to have a drinking water cooler right in their home. They know that the quality of the water is never compromised and always consistent; and they have access to it at all times. Many people even claim that drinking water cooler water improves the taste of their coffee and other foods.
The convenience of the drinking water cooler even extends to its delivery. A stationary cooler stays in your home and replaceable water bottles are delivered straight to your door on a regular basis.
The drinking water cooler can be a wonderful way to enjoy quality water on a regular basis – improving the health of you and your family.

When it comes to taking care of our bodies we've found a way to combine good nutrition with diet in order to positively and profoundly impact our health. But when it comes to keeping our hair healthy and looking great, many of us are still missing the boat. In order to have the luxurious hair we've always dreamed of it is necessary to first understand what kind of hair we already have; that information can help us find the hair care product that best suits our needs so that we can have terrific hair before we know it!
Do you have thick hair? Thin hair? Curly hair? Straight hair? Oily hair? Dry hair? Short hair? Long hair? You must first identify and define your hair before you can treat it properly. There are literally thousands of hair care product on the market today and sifting through them means first eliminating those that will not work. You have to stay true to your hair; buying a gel that's all the rage does little good if it has high alcohol content and you already have dry hair. Look for products that work with your hair rather than against it.
For instance, right in your local drugstore, you will undoubtedly find a serum hair care product to treat frizzy hair right out of shower; a thickening shampoo for to treat thinning hair; and conditioner for every condition of hair.
But aside from acting as a first line of response for hair care treatment, a hair care product should make your hair look great. From gels and mousse, to relaxers and curl enhancers; everything you may have ever wanted to do to your hair can be achieved with the use of one or several products on the market today.
You can always find a professional hair care product at high-end salons. And in some cases, your hair stylist may recommend that you use a specific product in order to correct some damage or enhance a particular style. Just keep in mind that the salon products are quite a bit more money than the product line in your local drug store. That being said, if the product makes a difference and helps you love your hair, it's worth every penny.
Once you find the perfect hair care product for your hair and your lifestyle, use it consistently. You will soon find that you have finally gotten the hair you've always wanted.

For many people, the art of sewing is a long gone skill that is no longer necessary. As we head to the many retail stores that offer the clothes and other materials that we need, we find that there is no longer a need to sit down with our needle and thread – or at our sewing machine – and create a piece that we can easily purchase in a fraction of the time. But for others, sewing is a skill and hobby they will never relinquish as it allows them to save money and infuse their own personal style and creativity into every piece they make. And for these people, having the proper sewing accessory at hand at all times is necessary for success and enjoyment.
There are a great many fabric stores today that offer all that you need to complete your latest sewing project – miles and miles of fabric and every tool imaginable. Of course, the added benefit of these stores is the helpful and knowledgeable employees who will assist you in finding everything you need. In order to begin and successfully complete your project however, you must know what sewing accessory is integral in the process.
For those who sew by hand, the sewing accessory that is needed is very different than if they were to sew by machine. In addition to material, hand sewn items require a needle and a variety of thread colors that match your fabric. Additionally, fabric scissors, a ruler, and a thimble are all worthwhile tools. For those who sew by machine, the needle is still a necessary sewing accessory. Of course thread, scissors, and a ruler are also needed.
In either case, for most people, a pattern is, by far, the most important sewing accessory needed to get the job done right. A pattern will act as a template to help you design and complete the project. A well-chosen sewing accessory will put you well on your way to a beautiful outcome.

In the age which we live there is an unprecedented focus on getting and staying healthy. As more and more research points to the effect of fitness and nutrition on our overall health, the findings become more difficult to ignore. There is no doubt that the food that we eat and the physical activity that we perform significantly impact our weight and our body's overall health and longevity.
When you look at fitness and nutrition and the consequences of ignoring their importance, it is not difficult to see how large a role they play in our health. First and foremost, it is important to understand how powerfully diet can affect us. Natural, whole foods – such as fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, and lean proteins – give our bodies the vitamins that it needs to function effectively. We have energy when we eat right. And when we have energy we burn fat. Eating properly allows us to maintain a healthy weight and keep undue stress off of our hearts; it also allows us to keep our blood pressure and cholesterol levels in the healthy range. Most importantly, good nutrition keeps our bodies stocked with antioxidants that fight off a range of illnesses including cancer.
But nutrition does go it alone; fitness and nutrition go hand in hand for achieving good health. When we keep our bodies active through a consistent exercise program, we are adding to our body's ability to metabolize food and keep weight down. Further, good fitness means strong and limber muscles and a strong cardiovascular system. Exercise also lowers blood pressure and reduces stress levels.
Learning how to pair fitness and nutrition for optimum health means a commitment to a particular lifestyle. It is essential that you revamp your diet to eliminate fatty, high-sodium, and processed food and replace it with fresh, natural – and even organic – choices. But remember, fitness and nutrition work best as a team. Implement a consistent regime of physical activity into your daily schedule including cardiovascular work, stretching, weight training, and even yoga or Pilates.
When you truly understand the importance of fitness and nutrition in your life, you will understand how crucial these lifestyle changes are in order to live a long and healthy life.
