Here's my warning to all wannabe golfer's, if you start on this sorry path, and do nothing to stop it, you will lead a life of pain and anguish.
All my golfing life I've been a hooker!
How or why it started I don't know.
I never wanted it to happen, it just did.
When I first started hooking, it was not every shot. It just sort of creeps up on you, over days, weeks, even months, and gets gradually worse, until nearly every shot is hanging left. And I don't mean just a little bit left, these 90 degree plus benders would make a circle look tame.
Finally, it got so bad, I was spending so much time in the trees, searching for lost balls, that my friends stopped coming round, and asking me out to play.
Then came that dreaded day. I can remember this so clearly, its almost as if it happened yesterday. I ran out of golf balls during a round. It was SOooo embarrassing.
Thats what made me finally seek professional help.
After walking off the course that afternoon, I went straight to the clubhouse and spoke to The Pro. When I spoke to The Pro, he admitted that he had already heard about my little problem. It seems that a few of my so-called friends had already spoken to him, to find out if it was contagious.
What he told me, certainly made me feel better.
There is a cure. And its really quite easy. Just keep reading:
THE PROBLEM:
Hitting the ball with a closed clubface, causing shots to curve (sometimes dramatically) to the left.
THE CURE:
The first thing you should do is check your grip. When you grip the club the Vs in each hand should point over your right shoulder. If they point farther to the right, then your grip is too "strong" and could produce a closed face and a hook at impact – when the hands return to their normal position.
If your grip is good and you are still hooking, try weakening your grip by gradually moving both hands to the left.
Check your stance to make sure that your feet, knees, hips and shoulders are all parallel to your target line.
Another cause could be the ball position. If it is too far back, it could produce an excessive in-to-out swingpath.
Try gripping the club more in the palm of your hands, rather than the fingers, to reduce wrist action and premature closing of the clubface.
Make sure that your left wrist is not too relaxed at impact. If it is, your right wrist will take control and close the clubface too early.
On your downswing, make sure that the action begins with your legs and body. This will stop your wrists unhinging and closing the clubface too soon.
There, you see. I told you it was curable. Although, maybe not TOTALLY curable. To this day, many years later, occasionally it happens.
But the major difference is that, now as I'm walking towards the trees to look for that wayward shot, I'M SMILING - because I know how to fix the problem.
The Happy (occasional) Hooker

Let's face it, when experts and diet plans go on and on about the importance of eating a healthy balanced diet and getting enough exercise they are not talking rocket science and most of us already know what we need to do to lose weight.
What they don't often take in to account is how hard it can be to maintain motivation and change the way you eat forever. There are also a number of tricks that you can use to reduce your daily food intake without noticing. Follow these unique weight loss tips below to assist you in your weight loss plan
1. Smaller Plate
Did you know that as the prosperity of a country increases so does the diameter of the dinner plates? If you compare the average dinner plate today with a dinner plate from 50 years ago there will be a significant difference in the size. When you have such a big plate there is an urge to fill it with food even though the portion size might be twice what you need. Shop around to buy some smaller plates and the amount you eat at meal times will decrease as a result.
2. Keep healthy snacks with you
We all get a craving for food at times and it is so easy to munch on a chocolate bar or some sweets for an instant fix, but a calorie overload isn't what your body requires, it wants nutrients to carry on its normal functions. By chopping up fruits and veg in the morning you can munch on them all day you can satisfy your hunger and be less tempted to binge on quick fix food like chocolate bars and crisps.
3. Drink water
Drinking plenty of water throughout the day helps keep hunger at bay as your stomach is kept full. Try not to drink ice cold water as this has a tendency to pass right through you! However, if you find that you are going to the bathroom too much it's your body's way of telling you to cut down.
4. Eat slower!
Nearly everything in your body is controlled by the release of hormones. When you are hungry it's because your stomach has released hormones which your brain understands as a feeling of hunger. Similarly when you are full it's because your stomach releases different hormones informing your brain that it doesn't need more food. Unfortunately these processes are not instant and if you wolf down your meals your body doesn't have enough time to tell you to stop before you've finished. You can even force yourself to eat slower by using smaller cutlery so you have to take more mouthfuls.
5. Understand calories
If you want to lose weight then you need to understand how calories work. There are a variety of weight loss calculators available that will estimate how many calories you need to maintain your current lifestyle. If you want to lose weight then you need to be consuming less calories than your body wants. So to maintain an average weight loss of 1 pound per week you need to aim to reduce your daily intake by about 500 calories. It is not recommended that you combat weight loss by restricting your intake alone but by doing some form of exercise you don't need to reduce your calorie intake as much.
6. Keep a food diary
We all have a habit of eating far more than we realize. Many of us will complain that we don't know where the additional weight is coming from but if we were honest and kept a food diary then it is usually pretty obvious that those additional pounds are the result of a sneaky chocolate bar here and the odd packet of crisps there. Keeping a food diary helps you to not only understand your weaknesses (for example, do you crave a certain fatty food at the same time each day) but also helps to track your calorie intake.
Along with a healthy weight loss plan and taking some form of daily exercise you can use the weight loss tips above to help you achieve your goals. Remember though, weight loss is a marathon, not a sprint, so simply skipping meals or drastically reducing your food intake is not the best way to become slim.

A traditional press release is a newsworthy, one page information sheet companies send out to media outlets such as newspapers, television and radio stations, publications on the Internet and so on. With the hope of getting 'some press.' In other words - getting your product and company name mentioned in a publication is a good thing. Especially in a national and well known publication. It gives your product or service a lot of credibility. That's before the internet and websites.
Today it is a different game. There is a growing trend of using press releases just to get incoming links to their website. We all know that pretty well the only way to get high rankings in search engine results is to get properly formatted, one-way links from other and related websites. In this regard, a press release is just content. Like the articles you submit to article directories. The advantage of a press release is that you can get the added bonus of getting mentioned in a publication - receive credibility in addition to the link.
The benefit of getting written about is that every journalist will write different words. Thus, the original press release will be another version of the content out there - with a link to your website. That is worth the price of admission.
If the goal is to get reporters to write about you - the release has to be news worthy. There must be something fresh and new and exciting about your service or product. If PR is just an ad - they will not be interested, and you are wasting your time and money.
Press release distribution next. How do you distribute the release? You can manually collect email addresses for editors of publications that you think would be interested. Keep in mind that there is no benefit to send a release about a new FOREX trading software to a food journal. If you have a service for lawyers - you send a press release to publications lawyers can read. I've done this with great success.
If you're willing to invest a few dollars (well worth it) you can either buy a list of targeted media contacts, or even better (much less work) is using a PR distribution company to send your release. The only ones you will want to use an opt-in list of journalists. These authors have asked this company to send them the information. That's where it's at. This way you can be sure that the release will go only to publications that match your product or service. The free or nearly free online services is only good for SEO link. The rarely leads to a mention in a publication and you're missing out.
Realize that reporters are hungry for things to write about. Give them what they want, some buzz. Something new. A new twist on an old product. Always a sure bet is how your product or service has helped people. Solved problems. You may have to prove your claims. "ACME Industries SuperCleaner Soap helps save City Central Hospital $30 000 in laundry costs last year." That works. The last word then: It's about what it means for the user of your product or service. Not about you and your company - or how you do thing - or how good you are.

It's a constant struggle for lawyers and their firms to be on the first page of the top search engines. It is very competitive simply because the payoff is so high. A single client for an attorney can bring in anywhere from thousands to millions of dollars. So to have your law firm show up on the first page on Google with a specific practice are search term such as "New York Divorce Lawyers" is highly desirable.
Recently more and more law firms are playing short videos on their websites. This appears to have a big impact on placement, since search engines now value videos much more than a few years ago. Besides, videos now are of a much higher quality than before. A $400 HD video camera can now produce a professional looking video.
People watch more TV and videos than any other news/entertainment media. People react to videos, it becomes a person to person interaction. The most successful lawyer videos are educational in nature, not trying to pitch the firm. People come to attorney websites because they have a problem they need solved. They want to know how to fix it. They need answers. Why not give it to them in a personal message? For example, let's say you are a tax lawyer. A person in trouble with the IRS looks up to find a tax lawyer in his or her city. Your site comes up with a video titled: "What To Do If The IRS Has Garnished Your Income". That's valuable. The visitor will view the video, and get some answers. Of course, the secret in all personal service marketing is to give away 80% of what you know and charge a lot for the rest.
Videos can be uploaded to YouTube, or any other video hosting service. It is important that you use the right keywords and title. Be specific. It's easier to get a top listing on a longer search phrase than a generic one. "Seattle Lawyer" won't work. "Seattle Lawyer Explaining How To Apply For Medicaid" will. The best way to put a video on your website is to have the video file reside directly on the server where the website files are. And indexed properly. Most web geeks can do this.
When recording a video, always use a tripod. Watch out for the background, sitting at your desk is fine unless it is in front of the window. Using a script is ok if you can be natural reading it. However, the best videos are the ones where you just talk like you would if a client sits right in front of you. Remember - make it personal. You are selling your services, and the viewer will know this so it's ok to have a sales pitch. People are looking for help. They have a problem. You need to show the potential client that you understand their issues, and you can help. Use (but subtly) the 'old "Find The Hurt - Stir It Up - Make It So You Are The one To Fix It" emotional sales pitch.
Finally you want to submit your video to video directory, preferably lawyer-specific sites.

Article Title: Buy a Business From a Retiring Owner and Reduce Risks

*********************** ARTICLE START ***********************
If you are looking for starting a business in retirement you have basically two options. To start something from scratch or to buy and existing business. Both are viable options, and both need some analysis to help you determine which is better for you.
Do you want to spend valuable start-up time and money learning the ropes before you get any income? When you buy an existing business that has all been done for you. You step into a revenue flow from day one, but it might cost more. What's more important? Go through the process of start-up before you make any money or have a cash-flow from day one.
Buying a business that is for sale by a retiring owner is desired. This is why:
There should be (theoretically) nothing wrong with the business.
Some owner sell business because they have to. They don't know how to run them properly, ran out of money or many other reasons. A retiring owner simply wants to cash in and not operate the business anymore. The business could have problems, but it's less likely. In addition, a retiring entrepreneur might be a "motivated seller".
The vendor won't be a competitor.
The chances of the seller opening a store just like yours in a different (and maybe better location) is almost non-existent. In spite of non-compete agreements which are difficult to enforce - this is an important factor. In a perfect transaction, the retired owner will help get going and move on to a beach somewhere. He or she might even be available to advice you from time to time.
The retiring owner might be willing to work part-time.
One of the challenges in buying a business is to learn the ropes. If the seller just wants to move on you could spend valuable time learning how things are run. An owner wanting to retire might stay on a while to teach you the ins and outs of the business. He or she will help you get to know the staff and operating procedures. This also helps maintaining the goodwill the owner has established over the years. Introducing you to the clients and so forth. In addition, it will "look" better that you took over a business from a retired owner than someone who might not have been a good business person.
Retirement-driven business sales usually means the business has been around for some time.
You would prefer that the business is well established. This reduces the risk to you, since there will be experienced and trained staff to help you in the transition. I would look for at least three years of operation. Anything less should raise a red flag - why sell so soon?
Do you have to pay more for a retiring owner business?
Technically, you would be paying more for a business with less risk exposure. If all of the above is true, risk is reduced, and risk is money.
In considering the tips above you still need to do your due diligence. The numbers need to speak for themselves and match up with your own tolerance for risk and desire for future growth and profits.

I am overwhelmed by the possibilities of internet marketing. In fact, it is almost debilitating. I have been at this for ten years now, and am addicted to it. My income has not climbed to the levels that the gurus claim they could be, not even near. It's a living though, and it is work. In spite of many of my sites being sort of on autopilot I work almost everyday on existing and new sites.
With all the possibilities, all the possible niches, techniques, guru suggestions - what to choose? What to tackle next? One cannot try everything, but yet the lure of a winning internet project is so strong that it's almost possible to resist. So we end up spending lots of time seeking "the" solution. What I have found though, is in this business it is definitely the 80/20 rule. 20% of my projects make 80% of the income.
Wouldn't it be nice if I know in advance what those 20% were? So we could just skip the other 80%. In my case in order to grow income I think I have to get better at evaluating existing sites and new projects.
Well, you can't. I have sites I got so exited about years ago, spent endless hours making them just "so" - doing all the right SEO/link building things. And nothing. Then I have other sites I slapped together in an afternoon and they are doing well. Frustrating. How can we know in advance? One thing is that we need to be better at cynically analyzing the potential of the project. Remove emotions from the process. We all get very emotional about new and exiting projects. A clever domain name takes on its own life. Like a baby. So we nurture and care for our sites. That's why we do this (and the money). For me it is the chase. The need to beat others, beat the system. I think we need to treat it with more business savvy.
I have spent a bit of time back-analyzing existing project. (During that process I also cleaned up old sites that now could be a risk as far as AdSense is concerned.) What I found was that there are still - to this day - two basic components to a site's success. Keywords and inbound links. Aside from what we all know - content and a clean site it still boils down to choosing keywords and getting links. I have sites in niches I thought would be "under the radar". Nothing. Yet I compete well in much stronger niches. Go figure.
So to analyze a potential niche I start with the keywords. I am looking for highly searched and low search engine results of course. I am also looking for keywords that might not show up in keyword analysis systems... new key phrases. If you manage to capture some of those - great. For example, 'retirement entrepreneurs' is nowhere to be seen in Keyword Elite or WordTracker. The word 'retirement' of course is all over the place. So I went and got the .com for that term. Set up a blog, linked into it from some other sites and wrote some content. Today I looked at the server stats, and were pleasantly surprised to see several searches for 'retirement entrepreneur' getting to my site.
The take-away here is simply; be creative, use obvious keywords but also include some combinations that are not so obvious. You never know!

I have been an active photographer since high school when I earned a few bucks (or Kroners in Norway) taking pictures for the local newspaper. It paid for my camera equipment - which made my parents happy. Well, that little side line never really ended. I never made a living with photography, but I am to this day earning enough money to more than paying for my equipment. I am now semi-retired and this is part of my retirement income. And fun too!
To make a long story short, using high end cameras since the beginning (1968) I manage to earn enough to support my habit. There are several ways to do that, personally I do some Realtor work - taking pictures of listings, I have done some team sports and nature/wildlife images I have printed out and sold.
A few years ago I got hired three years in a row (then I moved) to be the official photographer for the NW Washington State Fair. I got that by offering to take pictures one year in return for access to "back stage" at the fair. I got that, and they loved my images. So I had a couple of years of great fun while earning money doing what I really loved to do. With that credibility (I earned several prizes for my work from the WA State Fair Association) - I could have done some marketing and made more out of it. Life happened, so it got dropped.
The knowledge I have is really not much, but I suppose I have a natural "eye" for composition. I have also learned that from a digital camera - no matter how good it is - tweaking the images after shooting helps make them a little less than "off the rack". A little sharpening here, add some contrast. That will set you apart from the millions of point-and-shoot photographers out there that think their pictures are just great.
The other thing I learned as a semi-pro photographer is that the client is almost always right. Many, many times they want a certain "look" and I'd better deliver. In spite of my own view on it. Although, for the most part clients accept my expertise and products. But always listen.
I love to do nature pictures. Many people do. It is very difficult to sell nature/wildlife images, since they are so common these days. They have to really inspire or be so much better that people's pictures from their last trip to Mexico. Good images tell a story.
Here's an acid test when it comes to "great" nature/wildlife images: when people look at your picture and they don't ask "where is this taken", THEN you have a great image. Nature pictures should be location independent. Same with people. If they ask "who is this" your image is a snapshot.
On out trip to Norway this year I managed to score lots of great images. The fall colors were incredible, the weather just perfect for photography. How can I monetize this portfolio? I can make postcards, print them up and sell them at Scandinavian fairs (which I have done) or post them on a website for sale on-line.
So in retirement, if you have an interest in photography - start thinking of how you can monetize your hobby.

I admit to being addicted to what I do. looking back, this has been going on for over 10 years. My blogs and websites are my babies. I tweak, blog, write and learn how to squeeze some money out of them. AdSense, affiliate marketing - whatever. The big thrill is seeing the money coming in. Some sites I own surprise me with good earnings, others that I thought would do well sit there gathering cyberdust.
I have tried dozens of schemes. Most have failed me, others worked for a while and then became either overused or just plain didn't work any more. I have bought into the gurus, purchased manuals, books and systems. Looking back I have probably spent a couple of thousand in guru stuff. But that's a minor investment compared to what I have learned to do, and more importantly - what NOT to do. I spent many hours writing my own domain/sites management software. Just the way I want it. Works like a charm, saves me tons of time now. All in all my little business is profitable. In all businesses you have to spend some money and take some losses to get to what works for you.
The sites are my drug. The income is my euphoria. Once in a blue moon I take some time off, but I get withdrawal pains. Even if the sites run themselves I can't help it. Technically I could stay away for months without hurting any income. But I can't.
What does that mean? Simply - I have found my niche. My work. I have been doing this for over 10 years and the need to "work" the internet hasn't worn off a bit. I would have thought it would be boring by now, but it is stronger than ever. What motivates me? The income for sure, but to be honest - I was hoping for a lot more after years of working it.
No, what motivates me is the fight. The challenge. The need to win. To figure out what works. I'll take the losers, as long as I get some winners. And I have that. It's like gambling I guess just that I have full control over the outcome. I just have to outsmart the system....
My internet marketing income pays rent and more. Hour for hour I probably work more than most people. So it is disappointing to see the income not being what it should be. What am I missing? One thing I do notice that things work today, not tomorrow. For example, a few years ago simple content sites worked like a charm with AdSense. Not so any more. Sites need to be fairly unique for Google to even index them. I still have some content only, static sites and because of their age they still produce.
Setting up new sites with just old content - no good any more. Now a days you need sites with fresh, up-to-date and unique content. Like blogs you write to yourself. Sure, you read about auto-blogging. I set up 6 sites a year ago, I feed them with plr articles and rss feeds - and the results are dismal. The top one makes about $10 a month. Ok, so if I had 100 of them I'd make $1,000 a month. I get that.
I think there's a middle road to take. Sure, buy into the auto-blogging thing. But I realize now that pretty well the only thing that really works is good old writing your own stuff. And I find it refreshing to create content that is 100% mine. I realize of course that now my content gets distributed to plenty of people, but that's ok. I was the first to use it.
Bottom line, to make money you still need to spend time and some money. Nothing is free. But - if you are addicted to it - it's not work.

That's the retirement dream, isn't it? Passive income. Government and company pensions are passive income, you don't have to work for your money any more. That's why most people go to work every day, save whatever they can so they can "retire" with a steady income. And it is of course a good thing. Unless the pension income is not enough, or the company has folded or for any number of reasons you want or need more money.
The choice then becomes - should you go back to work? Start a business and work it? Or is there a way to create something that will give you a passive income in retirement. I am here to tell you it is indeed possible - I am living proof. Half of my income comes from passive sources. Meaning I have to do very little to receive this income. Of course, I had to set things up, but I have income sources that I haven't touched in years. Easy? It can be, but there's initial work to be done. However, with a strong initial effort - the payoff can be long-term and reasonable hands-off.
The ideal situation is to have 100% income passive. That's a tough nut to crack - to me a 80% passive is good enough. A little maintenance and tweaking is always needed. But hey, can you spare 10 hours a month to tweak some websites? If not - you can always outsource these tasks.
What about the long-term security of these projects? It's true, some of these sources will come and go. The trick is to diversify, have multiple sources of passive income. With as little maintenance as possible. And the tweaking there is - you can always outsource.
There are three basic ways a retired person can create passive income sources on the Internet:
1. Set up websites/blogs with advertising revenues such as Google's AdSense
Here you set up content websites - perhaps with a blog that you update with new posts once in a while. Not quite 100% passive, but with a modest amount of effort you can generate a steady stream of income.
2. Websites that sell other people's products (Affiliate Marketing)
You sign up with one or many affiliate product providers such as Clickbank and sell their products for commission. You learn how to set up a website and more importantly to drive traffic to it. Once the site is operational it takes very little maintenance to keep it productive.
3. Create products yourself and sell them through websites and/or affiliates.
This is ideal for retirees who have special skills learned through their employment. You write expert guides and sell them directly through a website and other affiliates. I know a successful attorney who wrote a book on Medicaid 18 years ago, left his practice and lives quite well selling this book.
The bottom line is that you can earn a fair amount of money for little work once things are set up. Say you make $1,000 per month for 10 hours work. That's $100 per hour. Good enough for me.

I have been trading currencies for years and have learned a thing or two. It is very addictive actually, and challenging. You certainly do not want to risk your nest egg on retail forex trading. Don't even think about it, but as ONE of many income-producing strategies in retirement - it can work. Here are some very basic fundamentals in case you are new to forex trading. Done right it can provide some growth to your portfolio and provide something interesting to do as well. A good thing when you are retired.
It is NOT a get-rich-quick thing. AND it can be very risky. Basically what you do is buy on margin a certain amount of foreign currency with another currency. For example, you would buy 100,000 YEN with USD. The margin requirements vary from broker to broker but is no more than maybe $500. Making it very attractive because of the leverage. Also very risky because of the leverage. One small change in the difference means a huge change in the profit/loss.
So now you control 100,000 YEN. If the YEN vs USD goes up you make money. If it goes down you lose. You can also trade short - betting your key currency goes down. How do you know when to trade? Well, that's the biggest challenge. There are two main methods to trade:
Manually trading
Traders would be actively studying market conditions and charts. Some traders like to trade from charts exclusively - they are called "technical traders". They would detect patterns in the movement of currencies and when they see a familiar pattern that would indicate a reasonable prospect of making a profit - they would initiate a trade. It takes some experience and understanding of what the charts are telling you. I have done that - with mediocre results. Besides, you have to be totally focused. AND to catch the good trading hours. If you are on the west coast it means early morning. Like 04:00. But man is it fun and intense. As soon as you enter a trade your pulse goes up and - well - it's exiting. Not so fun when your currency drops like a rock - but the thrill is there. It does have a gambling feel - which is the biggest reason people lose. They have the gambling mentality. "I'll win it back". Day trading is, or should be a "non emotional" process.
Automated Trading
This is what I now do pretty well exclusively. And it's a whole new can of worms. Most trading platforms these days have the ability to be programmed to execute trades based on some formula. For example, if the moving average moves up by xx steps - buy EUR and so on. Hundreds of these autotraders are out there, and some work - most do not. Problem is - things change. One autotrader system might work this month, but not the next.
However, with a little research and experimenting it is possible to keep your portfolio live and growing.
The best autotraders in my opinion are the ones offered by the trading companies themselves. NOT the fly-by-night operators promising richness. I think if you can make an average of 5-8% of your capital per month you are doing great - and allowing for some losses in the future. Most companies have systems where you can enter in risk tolerance and other variables to pick the best system to autotrade. This is what I did and I think I tried 15-18 systems before I found the right system for my capital and ambitions.
On my account - after some testing and losses - for the past 4 months my little account has slowly grown 14% in total. Which can drop like a stone anytime, but maybe not. To leverage the slow growth (thus proving the system for the time being) I now increase the amount of currencies I trade. So we'll see.

Starting a business after retirement can be very rewarding both financially and personally but making wrong decisions can ruin you financially - and perhaps health and relationship-wise.
How old is too old to start a business? If you are willing and able to do the kind of work you are planning - there is no age limit. Think of Col. Sanders. Wasn't he 70 or something when he finally sold his first chicken recipe?
Before you jump in - ask yourself these questions:
Why do I want to start a business after I retire?
Is it for extra income? Stave off boredom? Get out of the house? Or perhaps you want to turn a hobby into a revenue source. Or maybe you don't care about the money at all, you just want something to do. To contribute.
What kind of business am I thinking about?
Have you thought of what kind of business you want to do? Something in mind? Or you just know you want to "do something"? The possibilities are unlimited.
Do I have loan-free money do start a business?
Is this money you could afford to lose? It is the last thing you want to do to spend your nest egg on some business venture that might fail. Or perhaps you have no or little money. So you are looking for something productive you can start with a low entry price.
Do I have a business plan?
It doesn't have to be elaborate. Just the basics. A rough draft. Does it make sense? Is there a lot of competition? A business plan is absolutely needed if you seek funding, even if you are self-funded it is a good idea to create one. Just to get a birds eye view.
Am I really an entrepreneur?
Does it scare you to launch a business? If you haven't been in any entrepreneur jobs in your career you need to take a close look at what it means to start a business. The key secret here is passion. If you are passionate about the new venture - the rest will fall into place.
Could another 'Real Job" fit me better?
You might want to consider getting another job, full or part time. In your old line of work, or something entirely new. Thus avoiding all the "non-job" stuff you have to face when self-employed.
I know, many of you are ready to jump into this because you are passionate about your idea. My best advice to you is to calm down. Think about it. Run it by someone impartial.
Then think about it some more. Then DO IT. Let's put it this way: when you are 60 you might have 4,000 days left in your life. How do you want to live it? Don't forget - you must enjoy doing whatever you are doing.
Oh, one more thing... be realistic in your expectations. And define your goals. Both financially and achievement-wise. At this stage in your life it is, in my opinion as important to enjoy as it is to make money.

Retired? Want to still be in the game? Then consider consulting as a retirement self-employment.
In most fields you learn something. Whether you go to school for it or not - you become sort of an expert in your field. No matter what it is. For example, I know a retired fire chief. He is pondering different ways he can contribute to society and make a little business out of it. He is planning to create a safety course/inspection service. Good idea.
There are many ways to go about sharing your knowledge after retirement. You can set up a blog and start writing tips. People will come. You can use flyers, go to trade shows, join clubs etc.
You want to go where your potential clients are. So here are some tips for going forward:
Step 1 - Define Your Perfect Client.
Age, gender, occupation - etc. Write it down. Where do they hang out? Do they have conferences? Blogs?
Step 2 - Find The Hurt - Stir It Up.
Now you need to define what you can do to help reduce their hurt. This is going to be the base of your pitch. Let's take our fire chief as an example. He definitely can make your home or business safer. No doubts. But how to convince a prospective buyer? Use fear of loss.
Make a list of everything that could go wrong under certain conditions. Loss of home, life and business. Then you make it so by hiring you they can reduce that fear. In some cases you do the reverse. You pitch the desire for gain. This works on services that help people save or make money. You can use both..... very effective.
Step 3 - Write Your Pitch.
First you write it down in long hand. What hurts or potential gain? Physical hurt, property, money - any potential loss by not using your services and knowledge. What concrete gains? Then file it down to a sentence or two.
Step 4 - Start Marketing and Never Stop
Now you go to your potential clients with your pitch. Hold free seminars. Go where they hang out. Trade associations. Absolutely start with a website/blog. Unless you have a good website - you will have difficulty in coming across as credible. The trick with websites for a consultant is to give away 80% of your knowledge - and charge like heck for the rest.
Business Matters.
This is the boring stuff. First, let me say there are two types of "consultants". The people who actually do hands-on work (they really shouldn't be called consultants, but contractors) and the people who understands the client's issues and can device clever and workable solutions. That's what you want to be.
Charging money
You need to get paid. How much to charge is always a problem to figure out. How much is your time worth? And more important - how much is the value you provide worth to your client? I have pretty well stopped charging by the hour. Having an hourly "rack rate" is good, some clients insist. Thing is with that, once you have an hourly rate you can be compared. "Joe consultant down the street charges ten bucks per hour less than you." If you are a contractor - fine, that's the way it is. But if you offer solutions to help increase profits or get more clients - set your rates on the product.
Hourly rates vary wildly. top consultants charge like lawyers. $2-500/Hour. As a new consultant - unless you come from a top position - start off at $95-$130 per hour.
Better still - package a service and charge a fixed fee. That's what I do. So for example, my friend the fire chief goes into a company, does some questioning and looking around and comes back with a solution to reduce the fire risk factor by 50%. (I am making this up to illustrate). By thinking a little but and crunching some numbers - you figure he can save on insurance, make his employees feel better and so on. Then set your price. Of course, take into consideration your time and expenses. When you set a fixed fee you need to factor in the assignments that might take more time. If your hourly rate is $100 - calculate at least $150/hour for a fixed fee. It works for me, it's food for thought.

Much has been written about making money on the internet. I know, because I am one of these writers. I have been an internet marketer since the beginning. Now that I am approaching "seniorship" I have been asked many times by friends about to, or already retire "how can a retired person like me make money on the internet like you?"
Well, it's not that easy. First, you will need some computer skills - most folks 55 and over that I know have some skills - but many don't have enough to jump into the internet marketing world. Sure, you could sell stuff on Ebay. Not a bad thing, but that would take a lot of work.
If you are thinking about starting an internet business after retirement - think again. And again. It takes some skill, hard work and constant care and feeding. However, it is possible. And I'd like to go over the basics of one strategy that might work for you.
There are several ways to make money on the internet, some takes more work, others can be set up on somewhat of an autopilot. I guess the dream is to have hands-off income so we can travel and the money comes in no matter what we do. If you rely on this approach for your pension until you die - don't. Things change all the time and as I said - some care is needed.
However, there is one method that stand a fair chance of working - if you do it right. And that is blogging.
Yes, it's true. Blogs can, and do make money. However, probably over 90% of blogs make very little money. Most blogs make probably less than $50/month. That's not an income. The other 10% makes anywhere from that to $40,000+ per month. One blogger I study is John Chow. His method to monetize a blog is, as far as I know the only way to really make it big. Basically - you write about something that really fascinates you and you don't mind writing an entry once a day at least. Then you market the blog to get traffic - and ask people to subscribe by email to your posts.
Once you have hundreds, if not thousands followers and their emails - you find related products and sell it to them one-on-one via the list. You become an "affiliate" of different products and get commissions every time one of your subscribers buy it. I do this quite a lot. John proposes to do this right from the beginning. NOT put ads on the blog. John calls AdSense "the welfare system of bloggers". He said you just can't get enough traffic to make any real money with ads. That's true, I know exactly how much traffic I need to make every dollar. It's a lot.
You make money by gathering tons of interested people's emails - give them the information they crave and then sell them services and products. That's it in a nutshell, so if you are retired and want to make internet money - that's certainly one way to do it.

In the old days firms sent out a press release to the local or national newspapers with announcements such as new additions to the firm, cases won and other statements the press might pick up and give some favorable mention in their publications. They would also to PR damage control and announce press conferences. What they wanted the most was exposure.
That was then. This is now. These days press releases are more and more used simply to gain links to the website.
Most potential law clients will use the web to find an appropriate lawyer in their area. One that they could be reasonable confident in. After all, seeking a lawyer means you have some sort of legal issue.
Lawyer websites are very competitive. The stakes are high. One client can mean tens of thousands dollars in fees. That's one reason using Google's AdWords to advertise is very expensive for lawyers. They pay and where from 4-40 dollars per click.
What any web marketer knows it is the natural searches that counts. If you search for a lawyer in Chicago you will get millions of results. 90% or more clicks will come from the top 10 firms. Unless you are on the first page in Google - your web site is just there gathering cyberdust.
So how does one get on the first page? It is not easy. There are several factors such ad keywords in the domain name, a clean and effective website and good content. In order to get great rankings in search engines - aside from the above - there is only one method that has stood the test of time:
One way - properly formatted links from related websites or content pages. There are several methods to get these links, you can ask your competitors, (good luck) you can buy them at prices ranging from $5-50/month or you can write articles and submit them to article directories. This is one of the best ways.
However, press releases is an underused method amongst attorney firms. There are some steps to the process:
1. Write the release. In a language that is geared towards editors looking for "news" or a new angle to an old subject.
2. Submit it to free and paid press release services such as prweb. The release will not only be posted on their website, but also syndicated to other sites via RSS. So your link will, over time give a high rank of importance to your site. Especially since most sites will be focused on law issues.
The purpose now is not really to have press or others read the release and write about your firm - and when they do it's a bonus. The purpose has become much more simple: Get Links.
I have done this on several occasions, and links to my sites do increase over time. It is not a quick fix to get links and rankings, but it sure helps. I would suggest aiming for at least one release a month, maybe more. And have a strategy in place to distribute.
Couple that with some genuine article writing and submission - your site will grow in rankings - and I have seen an accelerated growth in rankings as ling as the pressrelease/article feeds are maintained.
Bottom line: Do anything for inbound links.

*********************** ARTICLE START ***********************
Why would people buy your product or service? With all the competition out there it's a battle for sure. Here's the bottom line: People Buy For Emotional Reasons And Justify It With Logic.
In other words - if your prospective client is not emotional about your offering - he or she might not buy. It's a simple theory, but somewhat difficult to put into action.
You get bombarded with ads and sales pitches all day long. Sales. Specials. And with the Internet, it's everywhere. You read the news and there are banner ads all over the place. For all kinds of products. Do they work? Do people click? Of course they do. Why?
Because something in the ad triggered some emotion. It is as simple as that. The ad might say something not so subtle as "Are You Being Sued?" If you are the viewer - and you are in fact being sued - it is almost impossible not to click. Because it's right up your alley. "Yes, This is MY problem." You might be thinking: "I need a fix for this problem. I'll check it out."
That's rule #1. Emotional headline. Find a hurt and stir it up. Pain + your solution = customers. OR some people react better to GAIN. "Do You Want To Earn An Extra $1,000 Next Month Doing Nothing?"
Then you get the click. Now you have a visitor to your website that is "motivated". Let's take the lawyer ad as an example since I work with lawyers to help them increase conversion on their websites. Many law firm and other professional services firms such as accountants tend to have a home page that is all about themselves. "We have 20 lawyers qualified to help you. We have a team of assistants. We have a nice building. Our staff is highly trained. We have the latest in computers" and so on. Who cares?
Rule #2 is: Nobody cares HOW and what tools you use to do your job. Yet anyway. If you have a qualified visitor to your site - you MUST trigger serious emotions right there and then. Within 10 seconds. The way to do that is again - either stir up the hurt or create a huge WANT for something.
Then you make it so that you are the ONLY person on earth that can solve your problem.
What is one of the things people want the most - emotionally? (I know - "love" - but this is business.)
To be understood.
So on your home page - you must immediately say something that tells the visitor that you understand their problem. "Being sued can change your life - perhaps even ruin it." Lay it on. Stir the hurt. THEN: "We understand how you feel, we can help."
If you can convey this in the first third of the home page - you will most likely keep the visitor.
Rule #3 is this: Give them 80% of your knowledge on the subject - then charge like crazy for the other 20%.
I have a tax attorney client that gets complements all the time for his website's to-the-point information. People want to know what happens to them when they get sued. Where do I go? What do I do? Tell them! While of course you keep explaining that unless you consult with your firm the chances of success is dismal. Be dramatic - it works.

Fact: 40% of people turning 65 will need a nursing home. Some full-time, others off and on. Many will need home care and other services as well.
Lawyers and other professionals often pitch creative ways to avoid spending all the person's assets. There is no simple way. The sad cases occur when it's too late. Lawyers see siblings come in after the parent(s) have been placed in a nursing home and their assets are dwindling fast. They advice pre-planning to protect assets from nursing homes. You will find asset protection lawyers in every state. For the most part it's Medicaid that can help if structured right.
"One of the most difficult transitions people face is the change from independent living in their own home to living in a long term care residence or "nursing home".
NJ Medicaid Attorney F. Niemann
The costs (as per 2010) for nursing homes, assisted living facilities and some in-home care services have risen for the fifth consecutive year and might continue to rise unless more long-term care workers can be found, according to a new survey by Genworth Financial.
A private room in any US nursing home now costs over $76,000 a year or $209 daily, a 17 percent increase since 2004. A semiprivate room in a nursing home is now close to $70,000.
Pending on where you live in the US - the cost of assisted living facilities is shooting up even faster, having risen 25 percent since 2004 to a current average of $36,090 a year for a one-bedroom unit. Assisted living costs ranged from a high of $4,921 a month in New Jersey to a low of $1,981 a month in Arkansas.
How can you pay for nursing homes?
Medicare
Under certain limited conditions, Medicare will pay some nursing home costs for Medicare beneficiaries who require skilled nursing or rehabilitation services.
Medicaid
Medicaid is a State and Federal program that will pay most nursing home costs for people with limited income and assets.
Medicaid attorney K. Gabriel Heiser states:
"Most people know that in order to qualify for Medicaid coverage of a long-term stay in a nursing home, the nursing home resident cannot own more than $2,000 in cash or other "countable" assets. But if you're married, and one spouse is going into a nursing home and the other is remaining "in the community" (ie, continuing to reside at home), how much can the so-called "Community Spouse" retain? That amount is determined by a combination of both federal and state Medicaid laws. (Note that for these purposes it doesn't matter whether assets are titled in the sole name of the nursing home spouse, the Community Spouse, or jointly in both names.)"
Managed Care Plans
A managed care plan will not help pay for care unless the nursing home has a contract with the plan.
Personal Resources
About half of all nursing home residents pay nursing home costs out of their own savings.
Medicare Supplemental Insurance - or Long Term Care Insurance
This is private insurance.
Medicaid currently pays the bills of over 50% of all nursing home residents.
While that might sound like a good thing, think about the other 50% of nursing home residents whose bills are not paid by Medicaid.
We advice seeking the counsel of a qualified Medicaid/Nursing Home attorney before you need one.

Of course, you've heard of the 10 commandments, the 11th commandment is:
Never, ever file a Medicaid application until you are sure that you qualify or it is strategically beneficial to be denied!
Once you apply for Medicaid, you will lose the opportunity to protect your assets. Do not throw away the flexibility that exists prior to an application! If your assets show that you have more than the allowable amount, you will be required to spend-down those assets. Call a medicaid lawyer first before completing any Medicaid application! They can tell you whether or not we can save you money. You will lose money and flexibility if you file for Medicaid too soon or too late. Let the lawyers calculate when the Medicaid application should be submitted.
They can usually determine the amount of money that you will save and the appropriate date that the Medicaid application should be filed. Attorneys normally submit the Medicaid application 60 days or more prior to the date that they believe the MA will be eligible for benefits, given the current delays in the Medicaid approval process.
A Medicaid application requires a mountain of paperwork, and is then submitted to an overwhelmed and adverse government processing system, which makes filing an application for public benefits an enormous project. Consultants and attorneys have developed systems to make your life easier. Their teams know how to present the information in a way that it can be easily understood by Medicaid officials. They will detail all of the strategies that our clients have used to qualify for governmental benefits while safeguarding assets. They will highlight and justify with appropriate legal support the reasons why our recommendations are appropriate.
When applying for Medicaid or other public benefits, there are often many hidden potholes, obstacles, and dangerous curves in the road. Attorneys understand these problems, as they have driven this road before — and we are prepared to address them and solve them. They will represent you through the application and all face-to-face meetings with Medicaid caseworkers or higher-level officials.
General Information on Applying for Medicaid
Medicaid Applications
The pile of paperwork required and an often inefficient government processing system can make filing an application for public benefits an enormous project. Although the federal government shares the cost of funding the Medicaid program with the states and requires the state government to uphold certain standards with respect to efficiency and the granting of Medicaid applications, it is not uncommon for a state or county office to fail to meet the federally imposed guidelines.
Therefore, when applying for Medicaid or other public benefits, it is crucial for applicants to be well prepared and well versed in the legal implications of all information to be supplied in support of the application. Also, when the state or county office fails to meet a deadline or erroneously renders a disposition on an application, the applicant must be prepared to exercise his Constitutional and state statutory rights.
Following is a sample list of Medicaid application issues which should be addressed to avoid unnecessary delays and denials.
1. Selecting a Program
Applicants for public benefits must decide the programs for which they wish to apply. The choice of programs may depend on the applicant's living situation, physical condition, and financial status. Certain benefits programs are also specifically geared to victims of traumatic brain injuries or Alzheimer's Disease. Many states, including New Jersey have dual institutional Medicaid programs which have slightly differing income and asset standards and offer different coverage with respect to hospital stays.
2. Timeliness of Filing Your NJ Medicaid Application
Although families have the opportunity to expedite their Medicaid eligibility through asset protection planning under the guidance of an Elder and Disability Law attorney, it is vitally important that applicants do not apply for Medicaid prematurely. Strategies for Medicaid planning often include triggering a penalty period for Medicaid eligibility purposes. While the time in which to wait to file an application may be more or less than five years, filing an application during a period of ineligibility could potentially cause a significant delay in the applicants eligibility approval status. It is, therefore, important to check with a qualified professional as to the date after which the application may be filed.
3. Authorization to Apply
In most cases, the applicant himself or herself is unable to visit the County social services office and offer detailed information on his/her financial status. The law, therefore, specifically provides that a relative, welfare agency staff member, staff member of the institution in which the applicant resides, or a professional such as a doctor or attorney may apply on the applicant's behalf. In cases where an attorney has been retained to apply on behalf of an applicant, the attorney must acquire an authorization from the applicant or his/her attorney-in-fact to obtain, discuss and submit financial data in support of the Medicaid application. Because the Medicaid eligibility laws and policies are rapidly changing, subject to shifts in politics and lobbying by advocates for the elderly, applicants are well advised to retain individuals with comprehensive knowledge of the Medicaid eligibility rules and all strategies that may be legally employed to expedite eligibility.
4. Physical Criteria for Medicaid Eligibility
Qualifying for Medicaid involves not only financial criteria, but also physical requirements. Therefore, applicants must demonstrate through a physical exam that he or she is unable to perform the activities of daily living, including feeding, dressing, bathing, toileting and continence. If it cannot be shown to Medicaid that the care is medically necessary, the Medicaid application will be denied.
5. Intake Procedures for Filing a Medicaid Application
In some counties, the applicants or families themselves are required to complete the paperwork. While some counties are more lenient as to what types of documents may be submitted by mail, the initial filing of a Medicaid application generally requires a face to face interview with a Medicaid caseworker.
6. Substantiating the Data Needed for Approval of a Medicaid Application
The Medicaid application itself is several pages, and the answers to each question must be substantiated by legal or financial documentation. These supporting documents include: social security cards, Medicare cards, health insurance cards, birth certificates, marriage certificates, death certificates, life insurance policies, deeds, car registrations, household expense bills, funeral arrangement documents, pay or pension stubs, and financial statements typically dating back five years prior to the time the Medicaid application is filed. If certain documents are missing, such as financial records, proof of birth or marriage, etc., a paralegal can help you obtain certain documents from the Registrar of Vital Statistics in your area.
Each Medicaid office has a computer program to verify social security numbers, employment history, or other personal information. Likewise, if any financial information is not disclosed to a county social service office, the office may deny the application based on information it periodically receives from the Internal Revenue Service. Intentional failure to disclose relevant financial data is considered Medicaid fraud. Even in cases where Medicaid eligibility has initially been granted, the county welfare office may revoke the approval upon receiving the IRS records.
7. Additional Documentation and County Verification for Medicaid Eligibility
In addition to personal and financial data, applicants who have been able to protect assets through planning for benefits may have to submit additional supporting information to the county social services office. The treatment of these additional supporting documents may vary from county to county. For instance, both a husband and wife may present prepaid funerals as non-countable assets. Both Care Agreements and Caregiver Affidavits which help applicants protect assets without triggering penalties, must also be submitted to support an application, but their treatment may vary with other financial data and the county accepting the application. Trusts that have been established must also be submitted to the welfare office since they may affect benefits eligibility, depending upon their provisions.
The requirement that financial statements dating back five years prior to the filing of the application be submitted also varies from county to county. Depending on the circumstances, some counties have been known to request as little as forty-two (42) months of statements.
8. Enforcing the Applicant's Rights for Eligibility to Receive Medicaid
Applicants should be aware of their federal rights to a prompt disposition of their application. Enforcing the federally mandated deadline of 90 days found in the Code of Federal Regulations, and the state deadlines can be done through a fair hearing, which is an informal proceeding before an administrative law judge. These hearings are often used to expedite the decision making process of the county and state welfare agencies. Individuals who do not exercise their federal and state rights to a prompt decision on their Medicaid applications might otherwise find themselves waiting over a year to learn whether their nursing home bills, which had been accruing, will be covered by the benefits programs.

Article Title: The Different Kinds of Penny Stocks and Where to Find the Prices

Penny stocks fall under the category of micro-cap or nano-cap. The distinction has to do with the public consensus concerning the value of each share. This is referred to as market capitalization.
Determining the market capitalization or cap of a company can be complicated. The formula used includes the price per share times the shares outstanding, which includes those available for sale and those held by shareholders, but not those held by the corporation.
One of the things to watch for when you are first getting into day trading or other kinds of investing is changes in the company's market cap. These changes can reflect problems within the company.
Micro-cap and nano-cap stocks are not listed on the major stock exchanges. You can find the current price per share on the OTC Bulletin Board list or the Pink Sheets.
Micro-cap and some nano-cap stocks have become popular in recent years for daytrading. Internet forums concerning the small-cap market have contributed to the popularity.
You can learn a lot about this kind of investing on the internet. Just be cautious when brokers seem to be running a promotion or marketing campaign concerning specific pennystocks. Always do your own research. If you get tips, try to confirm them with a second source. There are still plenty of scammers out there.
Micro-cap shares typically have a market cap of less than US $300 million. Nano-caps are worth less than $50 million. The price per share may be less than a penny or as much as $5.
You can find prices on some of the really good pennystocks on the NASDAQ Small Cap. Another source for information on US micro-caps is the Canadian Toronto Venture Exchange. In London, you can look to the Alternative Investment Market or AIM.
You can always contact a broker to make a purchase. Some brokers specialize in the smaller OTC markets.
Finding a price per share or a place to buy is usually easier than trying to find advice about buying good pennystocks. It is a volatile market and it's risky. But, the returns are high, which makes this kind of investing attractive to many people.
In the years since 2000, many investors have found that their small cap portfolio outperformed their shares held in larger companies in terms of ROI (return on investment). The total dollar value earned was lower, but the profit percentage was higher.
As a result, new indexes have been created for tracking the performance of penny stocks and small stock assets. Now, you can consult the Russell, the Dow Jones Select or the Dow Jones Wilshire US micro-cap indexes.
2002 regulations concerning what is required to list a company on the US exchanges have made the AIM and the OTCBB more popular for new companies and even established ones. There are good deals to be found in this market.
Investing in penny stocks could make you wealthy quickly if you choose the right companies. Just remember to do your research.
Penny stock investing can be very profitable. There are many opportunities in penny stocks. However, trading penny stocks can also be very risky and might not be appropriate for everyone. You need to do your research and understand if penny stock trading is right for you.

Us humans are a bunch of selfish egomaniacs. All we really care about is what's in it for us. No matter what we do, it ultimately comes down to self-satisfaction. At work, when interviewing for a promotion all we think about the new salary, what we will buy with it. We think about the prestige the new position will get us. You read this newsletter because you hope that there might be a hint that will help you get what you want, not because you want to feed my ego by reading.
People come to my seminars not to pay me money because I want to make money, but for the same selfish reasons. Hoping that I might have some tidbit of information that they can use TODAY to get more stuff. The money part is of secondary importance. An expense of getting what THEY want.
We start businesses with the goal of getting independence and money. We want to set our own hours. Look at all the marketing out there - it's all about US. What we do. How we do it. Internet marketers are the worst offenders. Most web sites I look at has been written because the web site owner wants something. He or she wants to make money by selling books. Tapes. Courses. Products. When we talk with friends, family or colleagues we can't wait to get the floor so we can talk about what we want. Stuff that's important to us. Who cares what they talk about!
I have done some research lately. In conversations with friends I have slowly gotten away from topics that had anything to do with the people I was talking to. I wanted to see when exactly their eyes got blurry and they lost interest. It doesn't take long! It's when the topic has nothing to do with them, their interests or concerns. The minute I start talking about topics beyond their sphere of interest they get glassy eyes and simply wait it out until they can get back at me. Some people are better at listening than others. I am pretty good at it, I can often think about my own things when people talk to me about stuff I really don't care about.
That doesn't mean we shouldn't talk to eachother! It's good to "dump and unload" to friends. That's what they say anyway.
So what does that mean? It means that if we could take a small percentage of the energy we spend thinking about what WE want and channel that effort into understanding what THEY want I think we can become more influential and get better results.
On web sites it's simple. If you could understand your target prospects better, understand what they WANT and what their PROBLEMS are you could simply say:
"You want more business so you can make more money. Here's how". And people would respond.
Bottom line: Eat your ego if you want something. Feed THEIR egos. If you can meet their wants and needs while satisfying yours - you win. They don't necessarily need to know your needs either. So why bore them with them? Saying that you want to be the best web designer in town does not produce results at all. Who cares? Saying that you want to help folks make money from their web sites is better. Having others say that your are the GURU that made their web site productive is best.
Take care of your ego - it's what's drives you but take a moment to understand what your prospect's wants are. They are the ones with the money you want!

I was born in Norway. Left after high school to emigrate to Montreal, Canada. I just got back from a trip with my new French Canadian partner, she's never been there before. We traveled from Vancouver to London and on to Oslo on British Airways. Great flight, great service. And the booze was free. More than I can say for Norway... A pint of everyday lager/pilsner is about 69 NOK = $12 CAN. Here in Vancouver it's $5-6. But that's ok.
Before we left we decided NOT to complain about prices, and just enjoy. Overall, everything is twice as expensive as Canada. A decent hotel is about 1,300 NOK = $223 CAN. But a great breakfast is included. So that's not so bad. Some hotels even have nightly buffets, and finding those and eating two meals in the hotel - takes the bite off. At the Clarion Folketeateret in Oslo we did that, and the room suddenly became quite affordable. And the food was great!
Gas is also twice as expensive, we rented a Peugeot diesel car and got 40 MPG. Put 2,600 KMS on the thing in two weeks. Cruised the fjords and mountains. I love showing off my country's scenery to an appreciative partner.
She stated that the Canadian scenery is great, but the Norwegian views are dramatic. We took local ferries, which I used to take often when I grew up. We also went through the longest tunnel in the world - 24 KMS long.
Bergen is the most scenic city in Norway, even the day we were there it poured. We had planned for this and brought our west-coast rain gear. We also went down the Trollstigen, which is spectacular. From there we went up to Sunndalsøra where I have family. We took daytrips every day, especially to Kristiansund - my home town.
Kristiansund is a coastal town that have progressed from a fishing town to an oil platform support base. Remembering having great fish and chips we went to the 'old "fishan" booth down by the harbour. It was as good as I remembered, even at $15 for your basic meal it was great.
Driving in Norway can get interesting. Especially on the secondary roads, where often there is no dividing lines and curvy. I was brought up on those roads and it came right back to me. A few scary encounters with big trucks, but we survived. Trick is to keep to the left and not to worry too much about approaching traffic. They will do the same.
Last time I went to Norway was in mid-may. The mountain passes were tricky, some snow and the Trollstigen was closed. This time, beginning of October - the country was absolutely magnificent. Fall colours and for the most part sunny and great. A little cold in the evening, but as I said - we were prepared.
Most Norwegians speak good English. More than I thought actually. Even family members!
So - go to Norway. Don't think pricing. Just enjoy.

When you want to impress the man in your life, the best option would be for you to gift him something very special. Buick LeSabre Keychains are definitely worth considering as they make great gift. He has been showering you with some of the most impressive names in haute couture; it's high time you started giving serious thought to what he would like to receive. I do agree that love cannot be measured in the gifts that you give, but it is certainly true that you need to maintain a certain class, when thinking of a suitable gift for the man who you intend sharing your life with. Your gift must be a reflection of your feelings and show that you care.
Buick LeSabre Keychains come to you in an assortment of types. Made of a combination of metal, chrome and leather, these keychains are very exquisitely crafted. Apart from their good looks, these keychains really do last a lifetime. If you want your friend to remember you, a gift of this sort is sure to achieve the specific purpose. There are several other key chains to choose from. The point that sets these keychains apart from the others is the brand that they represent. The Buick automobile industry has been at the forefront for an incredibly long time and is a name that symbolizes class and style.
Most people are tempted to buy a Buick for a variety reasons. It is certainly true that Tiger Woods alone will not be able to ensure that sales often touch incredible heights; it is also the value-for-money concept that makes these automobiles truly unique. Since you are a discerning person, you are able to understand the true value of the Buick LeSabre key chains that come with the stamp of quality that all Buick products carry. Beautiful and incredible style is what sets the Buick LeSabre key chains apart from the rest.
Gifting a person with something you like is not half as good as gifting something that they would like. Since you know that your friend or partner is keen on things that will remain with him for a very long time, it would be good for you to give him something that he will cherish. There is no better way to do this, than by engraving your name on the keychain that you give him. If you really want to, you could also engrave a tiny love message on the Buick LeSabre Keychains that you intend presenting him. The symbol of the eagle on the keychain is a good indicator of, what you think are, his capabilities. He will, you believe, soar to great heights, while not losing sight of ground realities.
Do look around before you make your choice. Compare prices before you settle down; but let me tell you that once you have looked at the Buick LeSabre Keychains on display, you will find it extremely difficult to be satisfied with anything else. With the added advantage of engraving made possible, it is a difficult chance to pass up.

There have never been more people online with the desire to earn money then today.
The big questions have been the same since the start and will not change in the future.
How to make money online.
The answers have been as many as the starts in the sky, but the biggest problem is that most of them never work for more then a few persons.
How can you make money online?
Some of the ways to make money online (according to those who try to sign you up) are,
• Autosurf (let your browser get lost by itself online)
• Read email (add a couple of more emails to the daily spam and get a couple of cents each)
• Chain letters (send $10 to these 3 and put yourself on the list …)
• Paid Surveys (this actually works, when you get any surveys, and you live in a place where you are allowed to take it)
• Ladders of all kinds. (Most often works like a chain letter). The only guaranteed winners are the first ones to sign up.
• Safe lists. Mail anything to millions and they will buy?
The list can be made a mile long.
Are there a better way!
The proven way of earning money works. Get a domain name, build a web site, join affiliate programs and start catching visitors to your site and enter them into an auto responder series.
Sounds good doesn't it?
But the problem is that you do not have a clue about registering a domain name, building a website, writing ad copy, finding products, using an auto responder, getting the traffic needed and so on.
So what should you do?
How about letting somebody else do the work for you!
Would you like to test-drive a 3-step money making formula today and get your very own fully automated e-commerce website setup with all the bells and whistles that is ready to accept online payments and make money online for you from all around the world, 24-7-365?
This is the next generation of online moneymaking and it will make it possible for anyone without prior knowledge of internet and online marketing to actually make money online.
A completely new breed of business opportunities have emerged the last couple of years. Optimized websites with affiliate programs built in. Pre written auto responder series with your affiliate id's automatically inserted. Pre planned ways of getting traffic and behind it all supports, setup and everything else you need.
So why not start earning money online today?

Over the last few years green tea has become very popular and is available in most stores and cafés. It is also used in all kinds of products such as shampoo, face cream, candles and many other daily items. Oolong tea is produced from the same plant, which is called Camellia Sinensis. The difference is that Oolong is a semi-fermented brew whereas green tea is unfermented.
The fermentation process is carried out by a skilled worker who can ferment the tea to many different levels to create different varieties. The leaves are stimulated until the oxidization process reaches the desired level and then cooked to finish the process.
The leaves are further processed after the fermentation to enhance the smell, texture and the flavor. This is done by rolling and rubbing the tea. It it possible to achieve many different levels of tea, and when the processing is over a knowledgeable master of Oolong will check the leaves and give them a grade.
The history of Oolong tells us that it was first produced in Fujian province in China. Some of the finest tea still comes from this area although it is now also produced in many other places including Taiwan, Vietnam and Thailand.
One of the reasons that green tea has become so popular is that there are believed to many health benefits which can be obtained by regular drinking. These benefits are also reported to exist in Oolong and are retained even after the tea is processed. Some of the common benefits claimed are the stimulation of the metabolism and the ability to enhance the digestion.
If you are interested in trying some Oolong then it is recommended to find a quality supplier. There are many sellers on the Internet who can supply good tea and many who can supply not so good tea. The stuff in the local Chinese store tends to be of very low quality and not worth buying. Look for a specialist tea merchant and try a few different ones to find the best quality.
Some of the more popular varieties include Gao Shan, Tie Guan Yin, Vietnamese Golden Buds and Formosa Oolong which comes from Taiwan. Don't be afraid to get stuck in and try a few varieties. I can tell you that a good Oolong is really a great tea so if you are not impressed with what you buy then shop around for another merchant because the good stuff is out there.

Traveling can be a lot of fun. But especially in places foreign to you, there can be certain risks that might make your adventures unsafe. So here are some travel trip tips to help make your fun times safer.
1. Research before your go.
Search the Internet for travel advisories and the latest safety tips from state organizations and other top sites that turn up in your favorite search engines like:
http://travel.state.gov
http://www.cdc.gov/travel
http://www.state.gov/travelandbusiness
Check to see if there are any sickness reports, travelers' alerts and other concerns you should be familiar with before leaving home. Then check maps, like at http://MapQuest.com, to make sure of your travel route and the best way to get there. A travel agency like AAA (Automobile Association of America) can help plan routes for you, checking road construction along the way and any detours.
2. Use the buddy system.
Try not to travel alone, when possible, so that you have a safe friend along and you can both keep an eye out for each other. If you do travel alone, leave your itinerary with a trusted family member or friend and have that person make sure you check in upon your return.
And when you travel, lock your vehicle and accommodations' doors, stashing your valuables in the hotel or ship safe when you have the option to do so. Don't leave cash lying around and remain accountable; ie don't get so drunk that you don't have control over your senses and environment.
3. Be prepared, like the Boy Scouts!
Plan ahead for emergencies and bring a light first aid kit, prescription medications for those traveling with you, and any over-the-counter items you may need like Pepto-Bismol, anti-diarrhea liquid or tablets, pain killer, anti-itch cream, sunscreen. It's no fun to get something like diarrhea while you're out in the jungle far away from any drugstore or convenience store. So plan and bring items you may need.
4. Check out your accommodations!
Ask for digital photos of your accommodations and the surrounding area, if possible, before your commit to staying in the place of choice. Because some places paint beautiful pictures of the area, then when you arrive, you may find you're in the worst part of town in a dirty, roach-invested hole. So ask about the area, get travel brochures and check around. If there are no photos, if may be well worth an extra $10-20 per night to stay elsewhere – in a place that does have photos to show off the accommodations.

When setting up a home office, the important part is to facilitate work. It is too easy to be distracted by the luxuries available at home. So here are some tips to help transform your home sweet home into an efficient home office.
1. Picking the correct place within a house for an office can aid this tremendously. Look for a quiet spot, as well as one with room and any other desired features. This may mean changing a window to create more insulation or even adding insulation to a room to make it quieter. Don't be afraid to speak to neighbors to see if you can convince them to keep the stereo down or dog quiet. If need be, consider hanging heavy drapes or even wearing earplugs.
2. If you can do a little remodeling, you can get good benefits. A home office can benefit from a separate entrance to keep clients out of your home living area, and to help you mentally separate the office from the home. More electrical outlets can be useful, and installing them above desk level can eliminate a lot of crawling around behind things. Setting them up on a separate circuit can help protect from knocking out parts of the house at inconvenient times. Plan your lighting. Use as much natural light as you can, since you aren't paying for the sun and the light is better quality than artificial lights provide. Then, create a mix of light for the room, usually mounted on ceilings, and light for the job, usually mounted on the desk. Fluorescent light is not usually a good idea. Track lighting and recessed lights are also more interesting looking than useful. Light that reduces eyestrain, is soft and yet bright where needed is what you desire. You want another two phone lines dedicated to the office, close to electrical outlets, and consider carpeting to further reduce noise.
3. When arranging your office, consider ergonomics. You'll spend a lot of time there, and it is worth some thought to prevent pain. A good chair is worth its weight in gold. It is also worth occasionally moving around the room. Carefully plan the location for the computer monitor. Locating the monitor slightly below eye level can save much neck strain. Place the keyboard and mouse to provide the most natural arm movements possible. Minimize bent wrists. You should alternate heavy computer work with other tasks to prevent long periods of typing. Invest in ergonomic keyboards and a mouse to assist this. Get a good monitor to reduce eyestrain.
4. Create room. Make yourself reorganize and put everything in its place once a week or as needed if more often. Use a filing system so you can find papers when you need them. Put everything possible on the computer to reduce the need for physical copies, and then back up the computer files to a safe location. This can be in a firesafe or some other location. Use wall space wisely. Bookshelves should be only as deep as needed to avoid stealing floor space, and place office equipment on top of filing cabinets, both to use the space and to prevent papers from living there.
