When your sprinkler system breaks down and you do not know what to do, you should immediately call one of the sprinkler systems repair companies in Tampa, Fl. to do the repairs for you. These companies have the expertise and the right equipment to repair your system in a reasonable time frame. They can be at your doorstep a few hours after your call and they can give you an estimate of the repairs shortly after inspecting your system. You can check the reliability and record of these companies through websites that publish their addresses and the services they offer to customers.

If you are no longer happy with the present sprinkler system that you have in place because it frequently stops working, you have to consider replacing it with a new system that will not cause you any more headaches. When your sprinklers malfunction, it is not good to delay the sprinkler systems repair since such malfunctions can lead to other kinds of trouble that can affect you. Flooding can happen to your place and subsequent damage to your grass and plants is quite possible. It is wise to call professional repairmen to fix the problem with your sprinklers.

It is good to have a permanent sprinkler systems repair company to check your system because the time will come when you will need them to do some emergency repairs on your sprinkler system. You can select the company you prefer to hire from the different websites listed in the internet under the sprinkler systems category. Once the serviceman comes to your premises, you can ask him for his advice and comments on your system or you can ask him estimates on the repairs that are needed or the cost of a new sprinkler system should you decide to install a new one.

There are times when you cannot immediately detect the defects of their sprinkler system. You simply notice that the color of the grass is slowly turning from green to yellow or brown. Sometimes, you notice some patches of brown grass in some parts of the lawn. These are areas that are not being properly irrigated by defective sprinklers. What you should do in this instance is to ask the expert technicians to check your entire system and get it to work like new or at least get it back in good working condition.

Broken sprinkler heads should be replaced or repaired and the rest of the other sprinkler heads should be cleaned, flushed and adjusted so they can function efficiently. The electrical system should be checked and the valves and solenoid repaired if needed. PVC pipes must be thoroughly checked for leaks and the defective sections replaced. The best way to keep your system in tiptop shape is to have the expert servicemen overhaul the entire system and replace all the parts that are not functioning properly. It is more expensive to do partial repairs from time to time than to make a one-time comprehensive checkup and thoroughly recondition your entire sprinkler system.

The system used for maintaining residential lawns is the same system used for commercial applications. The only difference is in the sophisticated components used in commercial sprinkler systems. The timely application of the right amount of water is the key to the successful management of any lawn or landscape. In St. Petersburg, Florida, there are many firms that provide commercial sprinkler installations and repair services and they are represented by websites that list down their addresses and advertise the products they provide for commercial establishments. When you browse over their web pages, you will appreciate the modern component parts used in commercial sprinkler systems.

The main water delivery components are the pipes which are installed underground. For large areas like athletic fields and golf courses need gigantic container tanks that hold colossal quantities of water that are distributed to the fields at flow rates exceeding 90 gallons per minute. The tanks recycle rain and runoff water for reuse by using submersible pumps. Large commercial complexes with tall commercial buildings usually have landscape in the background and these lawns have to be fed with adequate amounts of water so the plants, trees and grasses can thrive. Water distribution for these commercial complexes is done through a network of pipes of all sizes.

The pipes are fitted with commercial grade valves that control the flow of water to the different parts of the field or landscape. Water is fed to the landscape through rotor sprinklers that are calibrated to give the right amount of water to specific parts of the field. Spray sprinklers are seldom used for commercial purposes but they are still useful in some applications. Different shapes and styles of sprinkler connectors are also used as parts of the sprinkler system.

Considered vital and important components of commercial sprinkler systems are the ultra modern sensors and mechanisms that control the flow of water. Without the technology of these automated gadgets, it is impossible to distribute the right amounts of water into the lawns. Controllers with accurate timers are installed to control the delivery of water in multiple areas of the landscape. The best automated sprinkler system really depends upon the high tech gadgets that are put in place by contractors.

There are numerous establishments and institutions where commercial sprinkler systems are used. You can find these systems in commercial apartments, condominiums, school campuses, industrial sites, hospitals and health clinics, super stores and malls. The main objective of these establishments in using proficient sprinkler systems is to keep their landscape at excellent shape at the least possible cost. They can achieve this objective if they use an excellent sprinkler system that includes the right components to keep the plants, grasses and trees healthy.

Many systems employ fertilizer systems that introduce controlled amounts of the right nutrients and minerals for the consumption of the different kinds of plants in the landscape. When you visit commercial establishments and wonder at the green environment surrounding their buildings, always keep in mind that this is made possible by commercial sprinkler systems installed in the landscape.

Bobcats are great for various types of projects. They can be used in a series of jobs and they can help in completing a job faster. Some of the reasons as to why people require Bobcat services in St. Pete, Fl 33704 is for excavation services, removing and finishing grading, drilling and collection. Bobcat tractors are effective in excavation, backhoe of trenches, removal of concrete patios, sidewalks and foundations.

Why Bobcats are great for demolitions?

Bobcat tractors are great for various types of demolitions. First of all, they can be used in removing sidewalks, walls, foundations and driveways. They can also be used in collecting cement remains. Once the walls or the foundations are removed, their remains are then collected by the Bobcat tractor and are dropped to the nearest landfill. Once the demolition is finished, the Bobcat tractor can then be used in digging the foundation area so that new fortifications can be added. The tractor can also be used for filling up holes so that new infrastructures can be raised. That is why most companies require Bobcat services during their renovations and demolitions.

Bobcat services in removing Swimming pools

Yes, using a Bobcat tractor for swimming pools is highly recommended by most experts. Swimming pools are filled with cement. It is important to remove the cement first in order to completely fill the swimming pool area with sand. If the cement is not removed, then water can be collected in the sand or soil which can then form a mud pit. Rather than filling the swimming pool with sand, it is important to remove the cement first before applying sand. The cement can be done through continuously jack hammering the area and then removing the remains of the cement through a Bobcat tractor. Once the cement has been removed completely, then sand can be applied in the hole.

Bobcat Services for landscaping and other tasks

Aside from demolitions and swimming pool removal, Bobcat tractors can also be used for landscaping. It can be used for excavating basements, hillsides, grease traps and foundations. Once the excavation has been completed, the Bobcat tractor can then be used for grading new pads for homes, finishing grades and compaction. It can also be used for trenching new foundations, electrical trenching, retainer walls and sewer areas. Once the area has been trenched, then new drainage and electrical wiring can now be added.

Finally, Bobcat tractors can also be used for carrying and handling purposes. For instance, it can be used as a forklift for carrying various types of items in ships and in construction sites. Factories can also use it in order to move various items around the workplace. In terms of farming, Bobcat tractors can be used for digging purposes. It can be used in sandy, wet and muddy conditions. Users can choose from three undercarriage settings, including rubber tracks, roller suspension and steel tracks. Since the tractors have been made with a strong engine with weight to horsepower ratio, the tractors can carry heavy levels of load and can finish various tasks.

Going once? Going twice? No more bidders? This item is sold!

Are those lines familiar to you? Those are lines mostly uttered during auctions, wherein items and services are sold to the highest bidder. However, if you're in need of a vehicle, then there are certain auto auctions of America that can definitely assist you. It can certainly help if you have transportation issues, but also have budget issues as well.

    Going to Auctions

Auto auctions of America is a public vehicle auction – which, as the name suggests, is an auction open to the public. Everybody can go ahead and buy vehicles, as well as submit cars to be sold. Attending an auction is an enjoyable event which is participated by many. Cars with different make and models are being displayed so bidders have a wide range of vehicles to choose from.

    Friendly Reminders

There are some friendly tips given to aspiring bidders. Here are some good-to-know details about auctions:

    • Auctions have a sole objective, but they all have certain rules and regulations. Just be sure you are familiar with the things that will happen before, during, and after an auction.

    • A day or two prior to the event taking place, try to visit the area where the auctions are held. Quality cars are brought to the venue, so it's best to check them to see which will catch your eye for bidding.

    • Know and understand the value of the cars that you are eyeing to purchase.

    Wide Range of Cars

Aside from going to the auction venue, there are some cars listed in auction websites for you to choose from. Different types of cars are added there for selling. You can see the cars listed such as Volkswagen, Hyundai, Ford and Honda. If you're lucky, you can even bid for a Cadillac, Chevrolet, a Volvo or a Lexus.

    Quality and Pricing

Since the cars sold are mostly secondhand and used, buyers should not be expecting to get a car in very good condition. That goes without saying that you will be taking the car home without that trademark scent which indicates the item bought is brand new. There may be minor damages, but it's nothing that would affect the overall quality of the vehicle. Those damages can more likely be fixed by a kit for dent removing, or even with touch-up paint.

Vehicles are sold in auctions at a very low price, which makes some people skeptical about taking place in it. However, it should be noted that the dealers are looking to sell the vehicles quickly and hassle-free, so that's why they are selling the cars at prices lower than the usual. There are times that a vehicle does not have enough bidders, so that's when the cars have unbelievably low prices.

    Don't Doubt

It's understandable that there may be doubts in buying vehicles from auto auctions of America, but you don't have to feel that way because there are many methods that you can use to confirm the validity and the legalities of the auctions. It's even a way for you to meet your needs at prices that will not break your budget. For all you know, you may be the winning bidder for a great car.

However, financial difficulties arise which prevent them from paying on time; thus, resulting to payments being defaulted on their loans and lease payments. The vehicles then are taken by the government to a car auction online, and eventually sold to the highest bidder.

As long as you're a driver with a license, and you're at least 18 years old, you can already purchase a vehicle at an auction for just a fraction of the cost.

Vehicles, both new and used, are auctioned by the government from time to time. The prices of the cars are lower than most -- that's because those were repossessed cars that were seized by financial organizations. The prices are cheaper than usual because keeping the cars on storage for too long would lessen its value; thus, they would have to sell the cars the soonest possible time.

A car buyer is sure lucky if he will be able to find a car auction online like this -- auctions are not advertised to the general public. Dealers are protective of this information because the spread of these auctions would definitely decrease their revenue.

    Vehicle Sources

There are different sources from which a government vehicle may come from, but the rule generally is that, if the said vehicle was purchased under a State or Federal government contract, then it can be sold at an auction held as well by the government.

    Car Quality

You don't have to be worried about the quality of the cars being auctioned; most of the cars are fairly new, and sometimes, even come with service histories and log books. Being once government properties, the cars are well-maintained to comply with service regulations and legislations.

For those who want to check the legalities before splurging, and for your peace of mind, most auctions offer to provide a free CARFAX VIN report. To ensure yourself further, you also have the option to order a CARFAX report as well, prior to the auction taking place.

Some auctioneers allow a bidder to check the cars' parts during inspection; he can check the engine, heater, air conditioner, and other accessories. However, he cannot take the car out for a test drive.

    Prices

Most of the time, the accepted price of bid is the only amount paid during an auction. However, there are some states that need certain applicable taxes to be paid at the time of sale. Buyer's fees are not charged for any of these cases.

    Judgment

Car auctions provide you with vehicles that have good quality; they have not been used that much, and more likely, they only had one previous owner. The vehicles are still well maintained, and they come with several items and accessories you may want to have in the car.

It's not bad to purchase a car from these auctions. After all, you can even save a significant amount from buying from these. You don't have to keep thinking on what the outcome could be – a lot of people have tried buying from auctions, and no negative statements have been heard, from them.

Seeing the Park from a helicopter is one of the most exhilarating experiences anyone could have. But before booking your flight, you'll need to decide whether to take a landing tour or an air-only version. I highly recommend landing tours on Grand Canyon helicopters, but I can definitely see the advantages of air-only tours for some travelers.

    Landing Tours

My personal favorites, most landing tours fly to Grand Canyon West from Las Vegas. It's only a short, 120-mile flight one-way. The West Rim is the only place in the whole National Park where choppers can land at the top and the bottom of the canyon. Flying beneath the level of the rim (much less landing at the bottom) isn't permitted anywhere at the South Rim.

The most popular West Rim landing flight is the standard version. I call it "standard," but it includes a champagne picnic on the canyon bottom. Optional add-ons give you VIP access to the Grand Canyon Skywalk and/or a float trip down the Colorado River.

Grand Canyon helicopters landing at the top let you take in the Skywalk and several other West Rim highlights. Among them are the Indian Cultural Center, Hualapai Ranch, Guano Point and Eagle Point.

Landing tours at the South Rim are limited. As I mentioned earlier, choppers aren't allowed to fly below the level of the South Rim, much less land at the bottom. But, a new South Rim tour package that includes a helicopter flight and a sunset Jeep ride is turning out to be really popular. This particular tour is only scheduled during the early evening, as the sun starts going down.

    Air-Only Tours

Aerial tours on Grand Canyon helicopters fly out of Grand Canyon National Park Airport (in Tusayan, Arizona just outside the Park's main gates) or Vegas-area airfields. There are two types of South Rim air tours: a 50-minute flight and one that gives you 30 minutes of airtime. The shorter version flies from the South Rim to the North Rim and back, by way of spectacular Dragoon Corridor.

The longer air tours do that too, but add the Desert Watchtower, the Zuni Corridor, Imperial Point and the Navajo Reservation, among many other sights.

West Rim air tours treat you to views of Grand Canyon West, including the fabulous Skywalk. On the way there you'll see spectacular Hoover Dam and Lake Mead.

Most basic chopper tours use Bell Ranger or A-Star aircraft. They'll do the job, but the deluxe tours use EcoStar 130 helicopters. This aircraft gives you a wraparound windshield, a much larger cabin, stadium-style seating and wonderful A/C.

    Book Ahead

All canyon helicopter tours are amazingly popular. Whether you're taking an air-only or landing tour, it's important to book ahead. I recommend locking down your seats at least a week in advance. Don't wait until you arrive because your choices will be limited. You'll pay more, too.

    Internet Discounts

You'll find the best tour prices on the Internet – as long as you know where to look. Personally, I think the best deals are always on the tour companies' websites. Discounts of up to 35% off retail aren't hard to find there!

To get that special online discount, you do need to complete your ticket purchase right on the tour company's website. You'll know you've done it right when you receive an emailed confirmation letter/receipt.

It's simple – just choose the tour you want and then book it online well in advance. I'll see you in the skies!

    *********************** ARTICLE START ***********************

Despite his wire-rimmed spectacles and prematurely grayed hair, Richard Dreyfuss is one of Hollywood's most legendary leading men. His career on the stage and screen has already spanned close to fifty years, although it has had its share of ups and downs.

Richard Stephen Dreyfuss was born in Brooklyn, New York, on Oct. 29, 1947, to Norman and Geraldine Dreyfus. Theater wasn't exactly in the family's blood. The Dreyfus patriarch worked as a lawyer and restaurateur, while the mother spent her time fighting for world peace. Richard spent his early childhood years in Bayside, Queens before his father moved the family to Europe and then to the West Coast.

The Dreyfus clan settled in Los Angeles when Richard was nine years old. By the time he was a teenager, acting had been in his blood. He attended Beverly Hills High School with classmates Albert Brooks and Rob Reiner and became active in the local community theater. He briefly attended what is now California State University in Northridge but was asked to leave after arguing with one of the school's professors. Following in his mother's footsteps, he registered as a conscientious objector during the Vietnam War. He was forced to spend a few years performing service in a hospital instead of the military.

By the mid-60s, Dreyfuss was appearing in hit television shows at the time, including "Ben Casey," "Gidget," "Please Don't Eat the Daisies," "Bewitched," and "That Girl." He also appeared in several Broadway and off-Broadway shows, including "The Time of Your Life" alongside megastars Henry Fonda and Jane Alexander.

In 1967, he landed uncredited roles in his first two big-screen movies-"Valley of the Dolls" and "The Graduate." Many critics call his rendition of the infamous Baby Face Nelson in the 1973 film "Dillinger" Dreyfuss' coming out role, and the one that launched him squarely into the limelight. He quickly followed it up by playing the role of Curt in "American Graffiti," for which he received his first Golden Globe Best Actor nomination, and Duddy in "The Apprenticeship of Duddy Kravitz," which turned out to be the highest-grossing Canadian film of the 1970s.

Steven Spielberg turned out to be the catalyst who put Dreyfuss' career into overdrive by casting him as the brash shark expert Hooper in the 1975 smash hit "Jaws" and Roy Neary in the 1977 blockbuster "Close Encounters of the Third Kind." In 1978, at the age of 29, Dreyfuss became the youngest actor to receive a Best Actor Academy Award for his role as Elliot Garfield in "The Goodbye Girl."

The early 1980s wound up to be a very dark time for Dreyfuss as he became more and more involved with drugs and alcohol. After crashing his car into a tree in 1982, he was arrested on felony drug charges that were subsequently dropped. He entered a rehabilitation program, but his career experienced a slowdown.

Dreyfuss began a comeback in earnest in 1986 with critically acclaimed performances in "Down and Out in Beverly Hills," "Stakeout," "The American President," and "What About Bob?" In 1995, his role in "Mr. Holland's Opus" earned him both Golden Globe and Academy Award nominations, and he was awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1996.

Despite the outward signs of success, one thing started to become very clear-his career in film was winding down. He turned to television and B movies to fill in the gaps, appearing in TV shows such as "The Education of Max Bickford" and "Tin Man," and movies that included "Piranha" and "Poseidon."

Dreyfuss' career appeared to make a comeback with his 2008 portrayal of Dick Cheney in Oliver Stone's hit movie "W," followed up by the role of Warren Schiff in the hit television show "Weeds" and Gilliam T. Blount on "Parenthood." In 2012, he also played the role of Professor Hillside in the television mini-series "Coma."

Whether his career will make a full comeback or not remains to be seen. As of 2013, he has one film, "Very Good Girls," waiting to be released, and three in post-production. In addition, he is filming a fifth movie. While Richard Dreyfuss will always remain a Hollywood legend, his shining star may be starting to fade.

Dreyfuss' marriage to his first wife, Jeramie Rain, produced three children before the couple divorced. His second marriage, to Janelle Lacy, ended after six years. Dreyfuss married his third wife, Svetlana Erokhin, in 2006. They currently reside in San Diego, California. Dreyfuss has spent a lifetime battling bipolar disorder. He currently spends much of his free time as a political activist.

This year at the box office has been a bit of a drag so far, with not too many films doing overly well. To really stir up the interest of movie goers, an American superhero is needed to come in and save the day. That is likely to come true with the release of "GI Joe: Retaliation" on Mar. 28, 2013. The film is a sequel to the 2009 hit "GI Joe: The Rise of Cobra." Because moviegoers have had to wait for quite some time to see the GI Joe Team hit the big screen. This four year wait could well be worth it though, with many movie critics predicting that the sequel will be greatly received by movie audiences. Listed below are five interesting facts about "GI Joe: Retaliation."

    Delayed Release Date

Originally "GI Joe: Retaliation" was set to be released during the summer of 2012. However, the release date was pushed back to March 2013 because Paramount Studios wanted to release it in 3D. The reason why this change to 3D was so critical is because it would allow the film to reach a wider global audience. Many past movies released in 3D have achieved great success worldwide, so the reasoning behind the film studio's decision to postpone the release date was to expand the film's reach. Although that was the official reason for the delay, some industry experts wonder if the time of year had more to do with it. "The Hunger Games" had a successful run in March 2012, so the thinking is that Paramount Studios was looking to replicate that success during the month of March. The delay proved problematic for many reasons. Money had already been spent on advertising during the 2012 Super Bowl. Also, toy action figures of the main characters of the film were ready to be released to stores.

    New Film Director

Stephen Sommers had directed "GI Joe: The Rise of Cobra" and received many plaudits for his work on the film. Once an announcement was made about a sequel, many film commentators expected Sommers to also direct the follow-up. However, Paramount Pictures decided to give Jon Chu the main directing role. Chu has had some success with directing before, with films such as "Step Up 2," "Step Up 3D," and "Justin Bieber: Never Say Never." Chu has mostly worked on films of the dance genre, so it was a little surprising to see him handed a directing role for a feature action film. Although Chu has limited experience with action films, he promises to add some new dimensions to the franchise. Chu wants to direct this film much differently from the original by killing off some original characters and adding some new ones to the mix.

    Very Few Visual Effects

Most high level action movies need to use a lot of visual effects because of the complex scenes involved. "GI Joe: Retaliation" is more of an old-school film that requires stuntmen to perform full-on action sequences. During production, stuntmen would perform a series of maneuvers while being attached to wires. In post-production, these wires have been removed, giving the effect that the film character is actually performing the stunts themselves. There is one scene that does use many special effects, but this was only done because of the danger involved. Action sequences look much better on the big screen if they are acted out in person rather than through visual effects. There is more of a real-life feeling when watching the film that makes it seem believable.

Bruce Willis Plays the Original GI Joe

The original GI Joe only featured sporadically during the first film, but the character is central to the plot for "GI Joe: Retaliation." Director Jon Chu knew that the actor to play this character needed to be a star name in Hollywood, and he managed to rope in Bruce Willis to play the role. Willis in an actor in hot demand, so to get him to play the role only adds to a cast already filled with star power.

    NASA Facility Used for Production

Production was conducted primarily in New Orleans partially for tax reasons but also because a NASA facility was located there. This production base was necessary because parts had to be built to construct a space shuttle, and what better way to do it than at a NASA facility. This location was also quite handy because existing structures were available to film for many sequences. This was the first time that a film crew had been allowed to conduct filming on a NASA base, and considered how well it worked out, it should be expected that many more film crews will use a NASA facility for filming in the future.

    The Nutrition Today

The discussion about weight loss has been taking place for decades now in humanity, especially nowadays in the western world. The previous days I read an interesting comment that these days the most important problems for people are the overabundance of food and emails! We live in a world where the vast majority doesn't even have to eat and the vast minority is struggling not to eat. Obviously, many authorities and several companies exist that help people become slimmer. Likewise a lot of people have tried to enter a diet. Apparently only a few of them succeeded in their goal and many that succeeded, regained the lost weight so afterwards they had to try again to succeed. In my opinion two where the main reasons that lead to the above two results. The first was that the individual was entering a physically and psychologically difficult process leading him/her to either quit the diet or to restart eating unhealthy foods after the completion of the diet and regain weight. The second reason was ignorance or sciolism.

At the same time, if someone distances oneself from the subject he is going to think that what happens doesn't seem logical… In order a person to be thin he has to be pressed so much? Why were the obesity and type 2 diabetes rates extremely lower before the industrial revolution and the elation of capitalism? Does anyone know about his grandfathers to be following the advice of nutritionists to manage to not become fat?

One argument against the above statement would be that in the past times they were moving more. And it is as reliable as it seems to be. However, it tells only one small percentage of the whole truth because exercise doesn't seem to be so effective in fat burn. For example in a marathon a runner of 75kg body weight will lose approximately 2800 kcal and a runner of 95kg of bodyweight is going to lose approximately 3500. In simple words, you can make your calculations bearing in mind that 1kg of fat assigns to 7700 kcal… When I was younger I used to go a lot for sports and be outside the house. The ones that know me since I was very young can understand the irony. Of course exercise is very useful for several other reasons but it doesn't look like it plays a significant role in weight loss except in situations such as in the "slow carb diet" where it can help getting out of a plateau. One second argument against would be the situations that the people were living. I mean the fresher air, less stress etc. This is totally understandable however, in the case we cannot change our environment we have to accept it and focus on that we are able to affect. At least up to a point. One of them is nutrition. Sometimes we do this but most of the times ineffectively.

After all these the truth would probably be in front of our eyes – it seems impossible that there exists no way to lose weight painlessly – but we keep looking at other directions and choose hassles without seeing results most of the times. And the irrationality was increasing by taking into account that usually a diet doesn't imply healthy nutrition. Does it seem rational? And if yes do we accept it for ourselves? Of course what healthy nutrition really is in my opinion is severely distorted today even from the scientists themselves. How else could the dairy companies or companies such as Kellog's or Nestle promote their products? They wouldn't be in the place they are otherwise.

Perhaps the answer will not come from how much you eat but from what you eat.

First of all we have to forget every discussion about calories. Calories are a very simple way to count the energy that the food supposingly provides to the body and consequently the weight we are going to gain if we do not burn it all or the weight we are going to lose if we burn more. Metabolism varies from person to person and thus the burning of the calories in the body. It differs from time to time, such as if someone has been treated with antibiotics the previous days. Also, the calories on the labels aren't calculated in detail and as a result they differ from reality, especially if we are talking about a large consumption of food. Still, in the thermodynamics of the body temperature plays a huge role. It isn't only how many calories you burn and how many you intake but also to what temperatures the body is exposed. If the temperature is lower than 36.6 degrees of Celsius the body has to burn fat to reach its normal point. This is a huge separate issue that helped me a lot in slimming and in other areas too however this is not the topic of this particular article. Just keep in mind that is the only explanation that Michael Phelps consumes these proverbial 12,000 calories/day without fattening. His every day caloric burn itself is not even reaching this number. Only by a 4hour swim in a pool where the temperature is lower than the body's and water is more isothermal than air his caloric intake is realistic. Mr Ray Cronise dealt with this, who is a former instructor at NASA for such issues.

Something very important is that the elements that add energy to the body are 3. Carbohydrates, proteins and fat. The food calories are calculated depending on the amount of each of these 3 elements. The 1g of protein and 1g of carbohydrate correspond to 4 calories while 1g fat to 9. These 3 elements with their subcategories operate differently in the human body and should not for any reason anyone believe that two foods with the same amount of calories but the one being full of protein and fat while the other being full of carbs "fatten" the same.

Like most people I had so many times tried diets. They were always improvised and based on the little knowledge I had accumulated through my dealing with sports. Usually I couldn't manage enough things and even when I managed I was tiring myself a lot. I used to reach a plateau, something that was creating enormous frustration to me. Fortunately, from a certain point I had no particular problem with my weight because I really can't imagine how I would be right now. I remember always being terribly scared that if I gained kilos I would definitely have to over pressurise myself so as to lose them. I had this feeling because I had experienced the situation before and not because I was pessimistic. Of course at that moment I did not know that (blessed be the Internet) you've got the chance to learn anything you need in terms of information in any area you'd like to improve. What is important and distinguishes you from the others is if you do it.

    The Slow-carb Diet

The slow carb diet is the only one that even though I've run 4 marathons in 4 consecutive years reaching up to 130 kilometres per week and being the same weight as now, was able to make my abs visible. The truth is that in this has helped the choice of two suitable abdominal exercises while the status quo of "crunches" was smashed in front of my eyes when I came across several experts' articles and publications. If it is possible do not ever do "crunches" again. Too much waste of time for nothing.

At the same time I lost 8 pounds over 2.5 months without the slightest more discomfort than to keep the diet while I was on trips which again was not particularly difficult as far as you are motivated for your goal and you have made it part of your lifestyle. I don't know if it's the fastest possible rate, but I don't care. I'm always full, I follow a simple diet and observe the pounds just to decrease in the scale. And miraculously one day a week I have not only the right but is imposed to eat whatever I like in any quantity. I can eat what I've written down and craved during the week. Yes, I eat so much and so unacceptably that I reach a point when I look forward to re-start the diet! It has also been observed that a large rate of those who follow the diet do not return to their pre-diet weight possibly because weight loss has been gradual and is psychologically painless. Metabolism, however, has time to adapt to new conditions. To be clear the diet is addressed to both men and women across all ages. The only difference is that women may fall into plateaus more easily after menopause or the weight loss rate may vary during the cycle.

Indeed there is no requirement for any special knowledge of cooking. Most dishes are made simply and can be learned by everyone. Personally I knew how to cook but not much more than the basics. Well, I did not have to learn something new.

The inventor of the "Slow Carb Diet" is Mr. Timothy Ferriss. It is analytically presented in his second of his three #1 NYTimes best seller "The 4-Hour Body: An uncommon guide to rapid fat-loss, incredible sex and becoming superhuman: The Secrets and Science of Rapid Body Transformation". When I first saw the title I thought it would be another American self-help but two years later and despite the initial misgivings I gave it a chance. Fortunately.

Tim by using the slow carb diet in the 6th of April 2007 he had decreased his body weight from 82 to 75 kg when at the same time he gained 4.5 kg of muscle. He lost approximately 12kg of fat!

It can be called a diet but personally I could call it nutrition. I intend to keep it even when I achieve my goals with perhaps a greater comfort during the week.

Tim sets 5 key principles. They are valid for the 6 days of the week and not the binge day:

    1. Avoid white carbs except for the first half hour after vigorous dynamic exercise. Do not eat bread, sugar, cereals, grains, oats, pasta, rice (black, too), potatoes, tortillas, noodles and fried breading crust at all costs.

    2. Eat the same specific meals (Meals are going to be discussed in the second part).

    3. Do not drink calories. Drink large amounts of water. (There is not enough space so the rest can be found at http://lifestylescience.eu/the-nutrition-today-and-the-slow-carb-diet-part-1/)

Dubai has emerged as one of the most attractive and glamorous cities in the world. A cosmopolitan metropolis that has steadily grown to become a global city and a business and cultural hub of the Middle East, Dubai is a melting pot of different cultures, ethnicities and traditions. Developed and advanced, the city of Dubai, along with its stable and secure economy, has enhanced the average consumer's lifestyle. The stable and sound economy has resulted in an expansion in infrastructure facilities, housing and accommodation, services and business development etc. This has in turn, resulted in an improved and enhanced quality of life, expanding income opportunities, tourist influx and business movements all along the area. All these factors have played their part in the social and economical upliftment of Dubai as a whole.

Previously, its economy was dependent on oil and natural resources but of late, with the intervention of the government and the right mix of policies and practices, Dubai has emerged as a tourism magnet and a real estate giant. As a result, the city started welcoming people from all over and is currently the city with the highest number of immigrant population in the world! Dubai's expatriate population is steadily escalating and the demand for property, rental or otherwise, is very high. In order to accommodate this population incursion, and also to cash-in on the thriving real estate market, a lot of construction companies have made Dubai their home, investing and engaging in a lot of construction projects, both commercial and residential in nature. Investment friendly climate is the key factor that attracts a lot of investors to this wonderfully fabulous city.

The Dubai Marina is one such project. Stretching to over 3 Km and projecting an awe-inspiring city-within-a-city outlook, the Dubai Marina is the largest man-made marina in the world! An example of intelligent planning, excellent architecture and well-engineered knowledge, the Dubai Marina will offer the exhilaration and vibrancy of a chic, urban lifestyle. Delighting residents with its cosmopolitan, free-spirited and unique, invigorating lifestyle, the Dubai Marina is expected to be able to accommodate 120,000 people upon completion!

Speaking of residential societies, Emirates Hills Dubai is currently, by far the most luxurious villa community in Dubai. A harmonious balance of well-appointed villas and lush green landscape, it is one of the most desirable residential communities in an inimitable setting. A gated society, the Emirates Hill Dubai is home to the expatriate community of the city, and is one of the first freehold properties to be sold.

According to real estate investors' point of view, the Dubai Marina as well as Emirates Hill Dubai hold a prominent position. The marina, a marvelous piece of construction and smart architecture is a spectacle in itself while the Emirates Hills Dubai, a place of absolute splendor, is one of the most popular and admired residential community in the city.

Providing an unmatched lifestyle of opulence and luxury, these towers offer many different services and facilities. Also, their prominent locations help in increasing their value, thus allowing investors to gain handsome amounts in almost no time.

When the recent model of Toyota Corolla was made public it has caused such a trumpet blast in the auto industry. The entirely fresh style and design of this model have given this strong attractive force to most car consumers. In fact this has been considered as the best seller car worldwide with its record of tremendous thirty million sold units. The highest of all car models ever made.

As put side by side to the prior versions of Toyota this new Toyota Corolla lineup has just few new obvious things to offer. This includes stability controls for further security, steering wheel that is telescopic, and trims that have five different levels. Although the usual traits of Toyota cars are still present namely superior efficient fuel consumption, almost negligible noise production of the engine and a very convenient ride experience.

Truly one amazing model of the Toyota Corolla, the Base level is very flexible with manual or automatic transmission options. In addition it also sport wheels that measures fifteen inches, efficient cooling system, power mirrors and a high-tech audio system. You can be up for a race in the road with its competent 1.8 liter engine that is four-cylinder. Add this up to a torque capacity of 128 pounds and 132 horsepower that can make you very much competent on the road. An estimated, fuel economy has been given by proper authorities at 26 mpg in cities and considerably higher on the open road at 35 mpg. Security wise, you are very much ensured in this car with its ABS brake system, stability control, active head that are pretty confined and airbags both on the front and sides.

The LE model in turn is equipped with power locks and windows plus well colored mirrors in the external. Its fuel economy as well as engine details are identical to that of the Base model. Another Toyota Corolla model is the Corolla S which is a bit more expensive as compared to the LE but you will be enjoying a lot more comfort with its under-body spoilers that adds up to its aero dynamicity. This is also equipped with a steering wheel that has been leather wrapped, sports seats and wheels that are sixteen inches in size. If you are a music lover, you will surely enjoy the two extra speakers for its stereo system. And this has also been built with a security system, engine specifications and fuel economy similar to the LE and Base model.

XLE and XRS in turn are considered the high ends among the Toyota Corolla models. However the extra dollars you will be paying for the XLE model will definitely worth the price with its trim that is wood grain and gauges that are luminous giving it a lavishly looking interior facade. On the other hand the XRS model is built with advance technological features like sport suspension, interior trim that is chromed, alloy wheels that are seventeen inches in size and a very powerful engine that is 2.4 liters.

    *********************** ARTICLE START ***********************

In having your car or truck repaired you may be surprised that for late model cars often many of the parts that your vehicle may be repaired with come from auto "junkyards". Yet many auto buyers are not familiar with these auto part depots and the procedures in dealing with them if they need to obtain automotive parts and components that are either hard to come by or just too costly to purchase or acquire.

The first step and rule is to do your homework before stepping in the parts source door or lot. Before visiting a junkyard or "auto parts recycler" it is wise and prudent to have a good idea and fix for comparative purposes to have a general idea of what the new –part cost is.

As well note there may be more than one option for "new "parts. Automotive supply parts are supplied either by the brand name auto maker themselves – say GM, Toyota, Chrysler or Ford for example. These are referred to in the auto service and repair trades as "OEM.." That is from "Original Equipment Makers (or manufacturers)". As you might expect a real brand name part goes for a premium price with union labor at the factory and distribution channel. Another option is third party "knock off" or "aftermarket" parts. These will be substantially less expensive than the brand name OEM parts. Generally these aftermarkets are adequate although many in the trade may tell you that often they don't fit, are poor copies or substitutes overall. Yet it's your choice. A "new" third party non official part may be in the same price ranges (brand new in the box, carton or sealed bag) as a thoroughly used brand name part from a wrecker, which may come with overstated history.

Yet how is the price at an auto wrecking parts yard determined? Generally it can be held that the price you will pay out of you wallet for a used auto or auto body part will be determined by several factors, including the wholesale price of a new part, the corresponding wholesale price of a "rebuilt' part or unit, how easy, hard or complex - the part or complete modular one piece unit is to remove from the source vehicle. Lastly incorporated into the marketing price mix is the relative availability or scarcity of that part or set of parts in your geographic area and if the whole setup is small or easily and cheaply shipped – nationwide within the US and Canada.

In addition when it comes to configuring the pricing formats of used automobile parts is a calculation in the mix of the amount of work – time, unique skills and complexities of making that part or series of components reusable to a sell able state. These last two factors usually concern body panels themselves, rather than mechanical or even electronic parts and components. It is the experience in this trade and industry that overall mechanical and simple electrical parts can generally be had cheaper than body pars , comparing both new and used prices and pricing overall simple because mechanical and electrical rebuilds are for the most part more plentiful on the auto parts markets.

Lastly when shopping for used auto parts at auto wreckers and junk yards three points of experience from experienced auto mechanics and expert diagnosticians. First always check that all individual components are included for setup. Next remember in most cases electronic components and units are strictly "non –returnable". Lastly make it a solid practice always to get a receipt. This is important for a number of reasons – one to insure that you paid for the correct part if there is a question or dispute. Second is to prove ownership and authenticity.

If you are planning to purchase a new vehicle, you might have read dozens of articles about it and you might have also noticed that the said articles emphasized similar points. By now, you are probably aware that there are a lot of considerations to make in buying new car and often most car buyers do not have enough money to buy the car they are interested in and usually go for vehicle finance. You must be aware that the buying process of a car puts you in high risk of getting bad loan. In order to avoid this, car buyers must do their homework and conduct little research in order to be familiar with the entire financing process and avoid getting an upside-down loan deal. Here, we will discuss why availing vehicle loan offered by your car dealer is not really a good option.

Nowadays, most car dealers also offer finance assistance to their clients and some clients often avail such finance offer since they won't have to go to other loan firms to apply for car loans which makes it convenient. However, what most car buyers do not know is the fact that availing finance assistance offered by car dealers can make them pay more than they can get from other loan firms. According to a research done by the Center of Responsible Lending, the car loan rates offered by car dealers have been marked up by 2.47% or an amount of $714 is added to the loan. From the data gathered for the research, it was found out that big markups are often offered to used-car loans which have an average percentage increase of 2.9 while loans for new cars have an average mark up of 1.01%. Moreover, people with bad credit history, long term loans and loans involving small amount get higher markups.

Basically, most car buyers are unaware that car dealers usually increase the rates of the lender and usually end up paying big amount of money. Based on the study mentioned earlier which analyzed 1.7 million accounts of car loans from 25 car finance companies, the markups made by the dealers can cost the buyers to pay $2.5 billion after their loan period.

In order to avoid upside down loan or paying more than what you get , never settle with a loan deal without comparing the loan rates offered by other lending firms. Visit local banks, online lenders and other credit institutions which can offer a better deal.

If your car dealer happens to offer you finance assistance when you shop for a car, try to make negotiations with the rate. However, this move is highly discouraged by consumer advocates in order to avoid the illegal financing practice like yo-yo financing. In yo-yo financing, car dealers quote low loan rate that is subject for approval. After some time, the dealer will then notify the customer that the loan was denied and the customer must either return the vehicle or agree to the high loan rate offered. This is the reason why consumer groups discourage customers to go for loans offered by car dealers.

Avoid being a victim of bad loan deals or upside-loan deals by allotting some of your time and putting some effort in searching for a lending institution that offers good loan deals that fits your capacity to pay. Never sacrifice your money for convenience.

    *********************** ARTICLE START ***********************

You may think that your home computer internet network is as safe as a "bug in a rug". After all your Linksys or D-Link brand or another popular brand offers state of the art security features. Perhaps you have the standard WEP 64, or the "safe as the banks "WEP 128 encryption format. Perhaps you have even gone one step further to the ultra newer safe WPA router data security formats or even to greater security heights.

Your computer network is ultra secure. Or so you think and have beer reassured. Perhaps you have even had a "computer security professional "do the setup and maintenance,

And yet your personal data or banking information may be stolen. Your children may be directed to "bad "internet sites or worse. Your windows security updates may be compromised leaving your computer and network open to wide and wider scale attacks on your computer. Your confidential passwords – whether they are for email, medical, airline or even banking may be compromised or stolen. Finally your computer may be utilized as a "zombie" in large scale denial of service attacks on the internet. Your computer and many thousands of other may be set, waiting patiently for long periods of time, to be activated as a sleeper agent. Which along with many thousand of other remote computers are set on secret activation to altogether overwhelm some target whether it be government computers, the CNN online news network or whatever?

How are all of these threats possible? Computer security is always a case of cat and mouse with human ingenuity always at the root of the game. The hackers do this.

The computer security network react to fix the security hole it issue – whether it be Microsoft, Apple Computer or the Computer Hardware of Computer Hardware accessories manufacturers . And then the computer hackers think of an alternate means of attack.

In this case, even though it apparently seems that even though your wireless or simple cabled non wireless computer network has another gaping security hole. Home routers are at risk of being compromised by remote hackers. As a result of innocently or inadvertently visiting web pages malicious standard java script type software can access the controls of your home router and reset the controls inside the router to cause you big trouble.

Your router can be set to visit certain sites instead of where you wish to go. This may be simply to redirect you to sites containing advertising of the villain's daily choice. You may be taken inadvertently to websites which in a flash download further viscous and mean software, on a regular basis. Or even worse you may be taken to fake sites which are not what they represent. For example you may well type in the bank of America http://bankofamerica.com website. You may even have searched the name by Google. You will think you are being directed to this banking website where you enter your account name and password only to discover you cannot access your account because you are a bogus copy of the front page of that website whose purpose is to steal your banking account and passwords.

The answer to this security problem is simple. Simply change the administration password in your router from the default out of the box, out of the manual and factory to anything else.

As a result the malicious java script will not be able to unlock and enter your router and do its damage. The simple answer to these router security issues and securing your router firmly is to easily and simply change the administration password on your router – whether it is wireless or a wired router. Now your home computer network and router will be safe from this threat.

It is a usual thing for people to form opinions about someone in just mere seconds. And that fact is enough reason to ensure you make a good impression on your boss and colleagues as you start your new job.

In any work environment, especially in the early days, it is significant that you act as a team player. That early point of your job is a deal maker as well as a deal breaker. Actually, it has been said that in any job it usually takes about 4 to 14 months for you to find and have your great new job. And it will only take less than 90 days for you to lose the chance of having the opportunity.

There are qualities that you can display while the jury is deliberating whether to hire you or not for the open job position. These qualities are intelligence, flexibility and a willingness to not only work hard but also learn from those around you.

Also, below are some tips which can help you make a good impression on the people you work with:

When you're about to start your new job

-When you're able to get the position you are applying for, the first thing you have to do is to seek for the decision makers who made things possible for you to be hired and then thank them. Nowadays, it is astonishing how people forget to say thank you. People often forget the power of this two-word phrase.

-Take time to review your interview notes so that you won't forget the people you met during the interview process. Be kind to greet those people by their names when you walk in on your first day of work.

-It is advisable that you take time off between jobs so that you can start with your new position with a refreshed attitude and clear mind. If you are really occupied, ensure you can at least have a good sleep for you to have enough energy for the next day of work which is your first day on your new job.

    On your first day

-It is important that you jot down important notes. Also, take note of things that are vague to you so when you get an opportunity, you can ask about them to your colleagues. Nobody expects you to know everything considering that it is your first day of work.

-Establish rapport with your new colleagues as soon as possible. Don't forget to treat them equally and let them know that you're glad to be a part of the team.

-Show your gratitude and appreciation to those people who are taking time to guide you with your new tasks. Be friendly to them.

    In your first week

-Your workspace should be clean all the time but it doesn't mean that your table is empty. Likely, you will be asked to multitask so you should know how to prioritize things.

-Refrain from voicing your opinions at this early. Be aware that people won't likely to appreciate new teammate trying to make a point. Instead, try to be in low profile and just keep your ears open for you to well familiarize yourself with the new environment you are in. Let say 80 percent on listening and just 20 percent of talking should be done by you.

-Don't fall into a clique. There's no wrong in making friends but you must be aware that there are some alliance that can be political. Socialize with several people then just choose who among them are worth being friend.

    Within the first three months

-Before doing anything differently, pay your dues first. Being patient is the best thing that you can do on your career at this point of time instead of impressing people. Once you have established rapport and you already gained credibility, for sure you will be given greater scope to where you can make a bigger contribution.

-Understand the corporate culture. Carefully pay attention to insights and the usual things that your peers get done. Take note of everyone's personality.

-Make you get to meet the goals. Focus on your work, always give your best shot and support the team.

It has oft been stated that "First impressions are lasting impressions". So is it with job interviews and the employment interview screening process. Once a first impression is created it is more than difficult if not impossible to shake off or change those series of first impressions once created. It is as if you are being packaged for a sale – in this case the final product is yourself – looking for a successful job or employment posting.

If the whole packaging for an employment interview can be summarized in one sentence or phrase that is "To dress conservatively". The perception, that is unless you demonstrate otherwise, is that you are what you appear. Interviewers, and indeed people in general, assume you are what you appear to be. How could it be otherwise? That is unless you tell or present information in another manner or direction.

For example if a person its going for a job interview in an industry where trust and the perception that the organization or actual employee is to be trusted – such as the banking or finance investment industries then not only is it important to appear clean, pressed and perfectly groomed but also to cover tattoos and not to appear at the interview wearing a baseball cap or scantily clad. Similarly if you are to interview for a job in the health care field – say at a pharmacy or nursing home then it may be a wise idea to not only to cover those tattoos but also remove or even lose your nose ring. You may perceive them as cool and great but that may not be the perceived reaction both by the interviewer and potential customers and clients. and those that you care for.

Most interviewers expect applicants overall to wear business like clothes when they apply for office or professional positions. For men and women often a conservative suit of quality fabric is generally both appropriate and acceptable in these interview and business situations. In the specific cases of women, a conservative tailored dress or coordinated skirt and blouse with a matching jacket is also more than acceptable and appropriate in these cases. It has been found, noted and documented that some of the times that women who wear slacks to an interview lower their overall chances of being hired. If you want the job, then why take the chances unnecessarily?

If possible and whenever possible, visit your target and targeted employer or employers to observe the working atmosphere, conditions and dress codes. It never hurts to check out, prepare and observe. It can be a simple walk through – as in the case of a retail store. It may be just to scout. Or it may be to ask simple information on a product or service. Nothing wrong with this. Nothing wrong or illegal in this practice.

Even if you are spotted by the interviewer as having entertained this practice – it was just a matter of simple course and research to be merited and noted. You were doing good and thorough preparation to get the job. You want to fit in and be an asset to the firm or organization in order to become both a productive employee and full member of the team.

Lastly it can be said that even if the employer permits casual dress on the job, or for example "casual Fridays", even in the banking field., that it never hurts to err on the side of conservative dress and caution, that it is best to demonstrate both initiative and enhance your personal image and presentation by dressing more formally for the most important business meeting – that is your job employment interview. Remember that it is first impressions that are lasting. It never hurts to err on the side of conservatism and the trusted, true and respected when it comes to projecting the package of the product. In this case the product is you trying to get that job, career or employment through the employment interview process. Be seen and presented as an employee who will be an asset to the firm – both responsible and reliable.

Everybody in an interview process wants to get that job and be hired. It may be the income, or extra income, that you want or need. It may be a promotion up the ladder in your career. It may be your first job. It may be a boss, supervisor or management that you just want to get away from. Or it may just that you want new scenery – which you have either gotten bored with the service, industry or product that you are providing or servicing at the current moment.

There is one type or format of interview that no applicant really likes – it can be referred to the "Stress Interview" mode or the "Pressure under Fire" interview style or tactic. In this type or mode of interview the subject (the person being interviewed for the position or for employment) is put to the test. It's all about a test of the applicant's behavior, logic and emotional control under pressure. While this type of interview is not routine, it is in the "books". You may never experience such an interview style or process. Yet it's good to know that such methods exist, and be prepared for them. If you want the job, you have to be prepared. If you want to be prepared you should have thought through and familiar with the practice of this type of interview. You may never encounter it. Then again if you do – preparation and anticipation ahead of time may save the day for you – and get you the job offer.

To begin with what is amazing is that the stress interview is often done by the firms who you most likely guess would employ such procedures. It's often the firms with the so called laziest employees who call such shots. The amazing thing is that once employed that the general standard of work, that is practiced by the employees of the firm or organization have little at all to do with the qualities that the stress interview was supposed to test for. So goes life.

According to the human resources books and practices, stress type interviews are generally reserved for jobs that require regular pressure. With front line workers now conveying some authority and responsibility for dealing with customer issues and interactions at the front lines , with all the outsourcing along with downsizing and resultant "multitasking" , who and which job does not fall under the categories of " a job with constant pressure" as well as " having to make rapid decisions under stress " ?

Be prepared : In some cases you may encounter a skilled interviewer who may use some stress techniques in combination with an unstructured interview approach in order to get a well rounded picture of your personality – including your best work orientated traits as well as some of your not so good , or even terrible traits.

What to expect in order to best anticipate and prepare for these types of interviews? Some of the techniques routinely used in stress interviewing include remaining silent following one of your remarks, questioning you rapidly, placing you on the defensive side with irritating questions or remarks. In addition you may simply be exposing to criticism of your answers to questions, responses or general remarks.

It can be said that the interviewer may the stress interview technique purposefully. Or it may just come about, in mid interview, more or less accidentally, almost as a matter of course.

How do you handle the situation? Firstly, it is best not to react negatively. Just answer the questions. Take a deep breath... Demonstrate some control over your actions. Always be polite and courteous. You are being tested. Politeness and courteousness under stress earns good points.

In the end it all depends how much you want or need the job. It is your choice whether you decide to put up with the charade or just get up from your chair, and politely explain that you simply came for an interview for employment for the firm.

Perhaps it's best for both parties that you mutually agree to end the interview at that moment. Politeness as always counts.

More than one interview applicant has been called back after such an approach. That was the real test under fire or how to act courteously and with dignity under real pressure.

We take a lot for granted in our modern Pentium 4 and advanced Atahlon computers. Plug and play, instant hardware configuration for the motherboard and accessory cards are pretty standard stuff.

However it was not always that way. Early motherboards were limited in terms of computing speed and had to be manually set up and configured by tech experts with physical "jumper settings:" among other skills.

These were not skills that knowledgeable teenager hackers generally had. If you wanted to compute so to say just as you had to have a good mechanic for your car you needed and excellent computer technician.

Things were humming along early on with the advent of 386 and 486 era computers. All in all there were a number of ongoing improvements. These included. 32 bit widths. Bus mastering. Less susceptible to noise in that they were "quieter' in signal transmission. More convenience of setup of adds on boards via software.

Just as all roads so to say lead from Rome early computer advances all came from improvements in the "Computer Bus".

The ISA bus came in only 8 bit and 16 bit formats. Whereas the later 386 and 486 chips , in both the DX and SX formats while they did have a 32 bit path were hobbled by the ISA bus. As a result they could never realize their true 32 bit speed potential. Later buses such as the MCA and EISA busses were able to overcome these inherent limitations.

Thee "data highways" referred to as ": busses" are the data transmission lines around the PCs. The bus serves as the path for information transmission around the PC. True this routing is controlled by the CPU. However as that point in vintage computing history this was not an issue. The PCs were stand alone single CPU units.

However as time went on and PCs got faster and more complicated with less expensive additional CPUs handling other tasks within the PCs events became dicer.

Onboard peripherals themselves began to have built in CPUs. CPUS in different manners began to be found in such peripherals as hard drives, sound and video cards.

The overall computer system may become much more efficient if these in essence peripheral CPUs can communicate directly with each other. without having to use the main CPU as an intermediary. Hence MCA and EISA were developed with these roles in mind. The concept became known as "bus mastering".

Bus mastering involves the concept that the peripheral CPUS could request permission to take over the bus for a short period of time. The main CPU would grant permission for them to take over the bus, and it would temporarily drop "out of the loop", enabling swift communications between for example the hard drive and floppy disk drive.

As computer busses developed and had the inherent abilities to transfer more and more data in a given time period noise became an issue. The ISA bus was fairly noise prone because it relied on triggered interrupts. Whenever the voltage level on the data line of the bus exceeded a given threshold value then "Edge Triggering" would result.

The alternative to this situation where "Edge Triggering" could result is "level triggering" where it is required that the transmitting hold and archive the higher voltage level in order for data to be recognized by the devices on the bus. Edge Triggering however can lead to "transients" – that is brief power surges that can confuse the devices on the bus into thinking that data is on the bus when it is not. Luckily level triggering lowers the noise level and both MCA and EISA employ it.

As a result of all of these inherent benefits MCA and EISA came to support the idea, which we know take for granted, of instant software configurations. There were no switches or jumpers on add in MCA or EISA boards. Although we take plug and play instant configuration of mother boards and peripherals such as sound, video or network cards for granted it was not always that way. We owe a lot to these early computer innovations of improving the computer bus.

Spring Break 2008 will most likely continue the trend we have seen over the past two years, a move to a more affordable spring break vacation. No longer does Cancun monopolize the spring break market. College spring break students have grown tired of the overpriced packages to Cancun. For years, travel agencies have inflated their Cancun packages because they knew the average college student would be willing to pay top dollar for a spring break trip to Cancun. Those days are over. The past two years have seen shift to other spring break destinations. The Bahamas have become extremely popular. The April 2006 issue of Travel Magazine showed that Bahamas spring break packages were now just as popular as Cancun spring break packages. Studies show college spring break students want a cheap spring break package. A Bahamas package can often be half the price of a Cancun package. Spring break cruises to the Bahamas are typically the cheapest route to take. Eliminating the flight portion of any spring break vacation will usually cut the price in half. Choosing spring break cruises instead of a flight package is often the best way to do this. If you live in the US and want to travel to Cancun, a flight package is really your only option unless you drive. It is possible to fly or cruise to the Bahamas. Grand Bahamas (Freeport and Port Lucaya) is less than 35 miles from Florida. Cruises are very inexpensive from there, and they depart from several different ports on the coast.

It is important to note that Bahamas spring break package prices will most likely see an increase within the next few years due to demand. College spring break students are booking earlier every year so they can get a room at the more popular hotels. Most agencies are sold out at all hotels by December 1st each year. Bookings for spring break trips typically start around the second week of September each year.
