While most people would think that hunting is only for serious sportsmen, recreational shooting should change their minds. Recreational shooting includes the sport of trap and skeet shooting as well as the popular paint ball and air gun variations. Sling shot shooting is also part of this category along with soft air gun shooting.

Trap and skeet shooting is the sport of shooting clay targets by using a shotgun. These clay targets are called clay pigeons and are released into the air at high speeds. Originally using live pigeons, this sport changed the targets to clay discs for a more reliable and humane target. Trap and skeet shooting equipment, include, aside from a high quality shotgun, target throwers, clay targets or discs and of course, shotgun ammunition.

Paintball shooting or simply known as paintball is a recreational shooting sport where competitors try to eliminate each other from the playing field by shooting each other with paint filled gelatin capsules. Using a compressed gas-powered gun or known to paintball enthusiasts as a marker, these paint-filled balls are shot at opponents at an estimated velocity of 300 feet per second, as per safety standards. Paintball hits are painful at any velocity or distance, hence the implementation of safety rules and gear. One safety precaution is in the mandated use of a paintball mask and goggle system. These safety accessories are usually sold as a set and may go for $24.99 to $69.99. Other equipment required for this sport include the marker and the paintballs. Markers sell for somewhere between $99.99 to $299.99, depending on the brand. Paintballs are sold at prices that range from $11.99 to 34.99, depending on the number of balls in the package.

Air guns are pneumatic guns which use compressed air to propel a projectile through the air. Air guns, more popularly known as BB guns, come in rifle configurations. These air rifles come in calibers that include .177 inch or 4.5mm, .20 inch or 5.0 mm, .22 inch or 5.5mm and .25 inch or 6.35 mm. Rifles for this sport usually come in the price brackets of $29.99 for the least expensive model to the top of the line cost of $479.99. Accessories for air guns or air rifles are gun scopes, shooting glasses and of course, ammunition pellets available according to the gun's caliber designation.

Soft air guns are a tamer and softer shooting version of the air rifles. Airsoft, as it is more popularly called, is usually used in war simulation tactical games or war games. As with paintball, airsoft games require a certain amount of protective gear to minimize injury. Impact-rated goggles are a must for this sport and the goggles usually used for paintball is often used here as well. Soft air guns can also be used alone with stationary targets.

Slingshots have come a long way from the old wooden prong and rubber band attachment used to launch stones and other projectiles. The modern slingshot is now composed of a steel prong with a molded plastic handle. While still using the basic principle of the old slingshot, modern sling shots offer a more accurate and controlled shot. These are also sold with their own glass ammo.

Article Title: Evaluating The Different Options Available For Downtown Austin Condos

    *********************** ARTICLE START ***********************

Downtown Austin is growing faster than ever. Well, maybe not ever, but more than in the last 14 years I have lived here. The city council and the community in gereral is pushing for growing the downtown into a live-work area with high density, shops downstairs, and living upstairs. The term is "multi-use" and it is pretty much pretty much the montra for Austin real estate. There are 10+ condo projects going up in the next couple years that cater to the different appeals of living in downtown Austin.

A couple condos are situated at the turn of the river in downtown Austin, taking advantage of views down the river. The first time I saw the views, I was pretty surprised. You can see all the way down the river from the Congress bridge, past the Lamar Bridge, and past downtown. One nice aspect about these places is that there is not much chance of anything being built in the way of the river view since you are at the bend. The two places are called The Milago and The Shores. The Milago is right at the bend of the river with only the Town Lake Trail between it and the water. If you want protected river views, The Milago is pretty much it. Also, to get any views, you need to be above the trees and that is at about the 6th floor as well as on the west side of the building; the east side of the building pretty much has nothing interesting right now. The Shores has a similar view corridor down the river and to the west and is a little more north of the Milago. It has the Mexican-American cultural center being built in front of it and has a low-rise, older townhome project that poses no threat as of now to block the view. This building is not as rectangular as The Milago so more of the units have some sort of view, whether it be the river or downtown.

Moving on to a another downtown Austin condo sector. Some hotels are renovating the top floors of their places or building new high-rises next-door to accomodate those who want more high-end services associated with hotels. They will have room service available, workout facilities, concierge, and whatnot. The Hilton probably has the most upper end units right now called the Five Fifty Five. To name a couple slick attributes, they feature wolf ovens, wood floors, 24hr. concierge & security, and walls of windows viewing Austin downtown. They have a couple penthouses left.

The other downtown Austin aspect of living that some condos will be banking on is the trend to live near walkable shops and restaurants. Clarksville is a neighborhood thriving around some shops and restaurants on West Lynn as well as the 6th & Lamar area. It is probably the closest actual neighborhood (meaning houses too) to downtown to the west. There's a local shop to walk to on West Lynn, and if you want more of a supermarket, the Whole Foods mothership headquarters complete with ice rink is at the corner of 6th & Lamar along with REI, Waterloo Records, Amys Ice Cream, and other fun stuff. The Nokonah is right there in the midst of all that. It was built in 2001, so it is all resale at this point, but a good location with concierge and security.

And of course, people just want to live by cool areas. Austin's South Congress is known for probably being the hippest street in Austin. It is so cool it has been abbreviated to be called SoCo. A couple different condo projects are popping up around that area. Most are the loft, slick style that blends with the SoCo area. One is practically the neighbor of a popular restaurant and club. It's a smaller condo project at only 14 units available and starting at 380K. A larger condo projects is being developed further down south called the SoCo Lofts. These will have bamboo floors and stainless appliances. They will not really be walkable to the SoCo shopping area but will be creating its own multi-use shopping, retail, and restaurants. Since they are a little more south from the saught-after SoCo strip of shops, they are a more affordable option, starting at 225K for a 1-1.

Another area in the south that is trying to model itself after SoCo is being coined as SoLa, or South Lamar. SoLa is parallel to SoCo and about 2 main streets west. It is not as dense with shops but city plans are in the works to rezone almost everything along the street between the river south to 71 to be multi-use. It could be pretty cool and much more expansive than the current SoCo. There are various condos planned to take advantage of the new SoLa. One is just south of the river called The Magnolia. They've already begun construction and are moving fast, targeting completion by July 2008. The funny story behind this location is that it used to be a Wendy's.

It will be interesting to watch Austin develop over the next several years. There are a number of downtown Austin Condos as shown here http://www.escapesomewhere.com/downtownaustincondos.html but the new ones that are coming online should widen the selection for people interested in living downtown. Additionally, the increased density should allow for more small shops and businesses to set up shop downtown which will hopefully make downtown a more walkable interesting location for years to come.

    *********************** ARTICLE START ***********************

A lot of people ask for advice on how to sell their homes. There is the standard good advice... You can hire a professional stager to make your home be on the level of a model home. You can retile you bathroom or install granite in your kitchen to have a little more upgrades than the one down the street for sale.

You can do all kinds of things on the level of presentation. One thing I think most people overlook is making your home accessible and making the showing experience a pleasant one.

First, try to be inviting to everyone who calls on the house. It is definitely inconvenient for people to be romping through your daily lives, but it is unfortunately part of selling a home. When someone calls to see the home, say something like: "Sure, we were heading to the park, so feel free to look around."

Basically, you just want them to feel like they are not bothering you. This just helps set the mood of the home being inviting instead of starting off the showing with a feeling of intrusion.

Another thing is to try to leave when potential Buyers are being shown the home. Buyers just do not feel comfortable if someone is there, and they usually rush through the home without spending some time looking at where their furniture will go or how big the closets are. In addition, if you have dogs or animals that would be distracting during the showing experience (ie barking or jumping), try to take them with you, or if you are at work, keep them in the backyard. Basically, let the Buyer concentrate on your home.

Also, don't give a personal tour of your home. It is hard to resist since you know the most about your home and want to share that with potential Buyers, but when it comes down to it, you want people to daydream about the overall home being theirs, not concentrate on sink faucets. You want the people to become interested in your home on a personal level, thinking of how they will go about their daily lives in your home rather than notice every detail. Noticing every detail will come later.

Also, ask your listing agent to list your house with the easiest showing instructions so that your home is accessible without much effort. Sometimes Sellers will need to make appointments due to certain situations like the elderly or newborns. But if possible, have the Buyers phone / leave a message and head to the home. Our MLS system calls it "Call 1st - Go". This makes it possible for anyone to come by, even if they were just driving by and admiring the home. You may not get much notice, but it allows these sudden-interest people to come in, and the more people that come through will give you more a chance sell it.

Talking about short notice, try to keep your home as clean as possible at all times. Many Buyers will say that they can imagine beyond a mess, but most cannot. Messy homes end up being distracting from what the home is offering. It is definitely hard to keep a model home look while trying to live in it, but it helps sell the home. And if you keep it consistently clean, then when a Buyer ends up wanting to come with short notice, you will be ready.

Also, do not use combo locks, if possible. Phoning for the combination is an extra step that may prevent the showing if the person with the combo is not available. Most MLS systems have electronic lockboxes available, which make access easy and have the added plus of logging in each agent that comes. Of course, if electronic lockboxes are not available in your area then combo locks are a good alternative to trying to arrange appointments.

The last thing is to never say no to someone requesting a showing. It can definitely be hard to prepare when someone wants to see your home, especially when you have little notice. This again is where being prepared and tidy at all times is helpful. Have a game plan prepared, especially if you have kids or animals. Many people decide to take their dog on a walk because it us a quick exit and lets the Buyers have a little time in the home to look around.

In summary, you want as many people looking at your home as possible and the showing experience to be as comfortable for the Buyers as possible. So, try to make the showing access as easy as possible and keep distractions (like animals, messiness, & even yourself) to a minimum.

    *********************** ARTICLE START ***********************

Once upon a time the cable TV has the first choice for watching TV shows as it was supreme to any other technology on the market at the time. Cable TV was spread out into homes all over the country. It had many advantages of which providing a wide selection of channels and doing it through air and without any affect caused by atmospheric disturbances.

Sure the technology wasn't a hundred percent perfect and even at the time there were other ways of getting TV into the common homes. Some of these were "over the air broadcasting", satellite TV and video cassettes, but for TV watching populace (or the majority of them), cable TV had the right balance of practicality, cost and variety of programs and shows.

In the beginning of the 1990s there was a giant advance in satellite TV technology and all of a sudden it became cheap enough to have the ordinary people subscribe to hundreds of channels without having the break the bank. This instantly removed the ten foot antennae that a lot of people had planted in both the front- and backyards. Even the people living in the country side (where the cables didn't run and where "over the air broadcasts" couldn't reach) could now afford the same TV options as everyone else. How it when on is still a mystery, but somehow the concept of cable TV managed to survive the new satellite outburst. It has actually, with great effort, started to make something of a rebound as you read these lines. It'll be interesting to see how it is going to unfold.

    Today's Biggest Threat

Today the biggest threat to both cable TV and satellite TV is the increasing capacity to transmit video over the Internet. The spread of computers in every home (and most homes have more that one computer already) and the increasing prevalence of high speed Internet connections has made people turn more and more to this solution. The average human spend hours behind the computer every day and the companies behind the technology are quite to take advantage of that. If they could just keep people a little longer that would mean more money for them.

So they reason for the advance in computer technology is simple and we can see that it is constantly getting better at processing the massive amounts of information that go along with broadcasting and streaming both video and music.

Get a Share of the Trend

More and more companies are positioning themselves to get their share of the trend. They do so by offering programs that can be instantly downloaded for free from their websites. To take an example, the company Starz (big movie provider) has put number of movies on their website to be freely downloaded and they are not the only ones that have thought of that idea.

You will even find companies that aren't into the TV industry and has no channels (eg AOL) that are still creating huge archives of older sporting events, music videos and TV shows and making them available to the broad audience online.

If you are wondering why all of this is a threat to satellite TV and cable TV providers, it is because the technology provides another option for people to watch their favorite TV shows and movies, which will largely cut them out of the grand picture. The TV people fear that if anyone can download any TV show that they want in order to watch it when they feel like it, then they won't bother to subscribe to a TV service. It might seem a little extreme but the companies are "better safe than sorry".

It might not end up in as bad a scenario as the cable companies prepare for and one major reason is that a lot of people like having the TV on simply as background noise while they're doing something else. Paying for a specific program to have it run in the background would be ridiculous to most people.

These days you can go for more than a couple of days without reading an article, watching a television show or see a commercial related to the huge global problem of overweight. It is a fact that more and more people are becoming obese and the main causes are poor exercise habits and the wrong diet.

One of the problems with people's diets is that it contains a lot of fat (and of the unhealthy kind). If people would try to focus a little more on some low fat foods like chicken the problem would at least be reduced somewhat.

For that reason I'll give you a few of my favorite recipes to try at home and if you like it then you are free to pass them on to friends and family that might need to loose a few pounds. An idea could be to invite them all over for dinner and if they like what you have cooked for them they might ask for the recipe them selves.

I would like to give you the recipe for a Low-Fat Chicken Rice Casserole that I find really tasteful and it is easy to do.

First you heat the oven to 350 degrees F. In a large saucepan you blend flour, salt and pepper. Then you stir in broth and milk. You need to keep stirring constantly while cooking over low heat, until the mixture is smooth and bubbly.

Then you bring it to boil and you stir for another 1 minute. Finally you stir in the remaining ingredients.

When finished you pour it into an NON-greased baking dish (10x6x1.5"), or a 1 1/2-quart casserole. Both will work perfectly.

Then you bake it all uncovered for 40 to 45 minutes. Before serving it you can sprinkle with snipped parsley.

The ingredients you need: 1/3 Cup All-Purpose Flour, 1 1/2 tsp Salt, 1/8 tsp Pepper, 1 Cup Nonfat chicken broth, 1 1/2 Cups Skim milk, 1 1/2 Cups Cooked Rice (White or Wild), 2 Cups Chicken breasts without skin (cooked), 4 Ounces Mushrooms and 1/3 Cup Chopped green bell pepper.

This recipe is with a serving size of 4 so if you are inviting more the 3 guests over for chicken, you will need to multiply the ingredients needed so there will be enough for everyone.

About The Author: In the spring of 2006 the website http://www.mychickenrecipes.com was launched. It is mainly focused on providing an extensive list of free and easy chicken recipes for you to cook at home.

If you are reading this you might be close to setting up your first website ever or you can be a person with experience that is just curious to see if there are things that you might have missed. Whatever the case is I hope to be able to provide you with a few of the things that I personally feel are important when you are picking the right domain name for your new site.

I assume that you have already found the topic that you are going to be focusing on and therefore I will not go into any of the things that relates on how to find a profitable market online. The reason I say this is that I assume that you new site will somehow have a business related theme as a personal website with pictures of your family and stuff doesn't need much consideration when choosing the domain name.

So let us get into the things that I strongly feel you would have great benefit from.

It is a know fact that more and more traffic (aka visitors to your site) comes from the search engines such as Google, Yahoo and MSN (which has now launched their new site called Live). So with this fact in mind you will need to find out how to get the best possible placement in the search engines so that people will come visit your site.

Most online marketers agree that from a SEO point of you the right keyword rich domain name can help your site rank better that if you are not using a keyword rich domain name. You might say that site like http://Nike.com, http://Amazon.com and http://Ebay.com doesn't have keyword rich names and you are absolutely right.

However the difference between you and the great site is that they have much larger advertising budget than you have and therefore they can get away with having names that doesn't make much sense. So if you are on a small budget I suggest that you go for the keyword rich domain name approach.

Choosing a keyword rich domain name does not mean that you will have to end up with a name that nobody will ever remember. That can be the case but it doesn't have to be. Let us say that you are going to create a site that deals with pets. Maybe you want to sell pet toys and other accessories.

What I would do is to go to the site called: http://www.wordtracker.com/free-trial.html and sign up for the free trial. Once you have received the e-mail from WordTracker you would enter "pets" in the field.

You'll see that the word "pet supplies" has a count of 2,000-2,500 visitors in a 90 day period. If you had paid for the full version of WordTracker (I strongly recommend that you do) you would have found that for the keyword phrase "pet toys and supplies" and that 145 people are searching for that particular phrase every day and that there are only 857 sites competing for that exact phrase.

Now that is great information and you can now use it for finding a domain name that will 1) Tell your visitors what it is that you do and 2) hold some really great keywords that you will want to target to rank in the search engines.

If you go to the site called: http://idenion.dk/tools/multidomaincheck.aspx you'll be able to enter domain names in the box and test whether they are available. I have just tested the domains http://pettoysandsupplies.com and http://pet-toys-and-supplies.com and both of them are available. That is great news as the domains names will help you some of the way to get the high rankings that you want.

Whether you are expecting your first child or you are a veteran parent with years of experience raising kinds you have probably asked yourself the question "how will I go about keeping my baby as happy and smiling as possible?"

Well. I can't give you a definite answer to that question because there are probably as many different answers as there are babies in the world. Every single human is unique but we do still have some things in common that you can benefit from.

Firstly you will have to provide your baby with the basic human needs. This includes the right amount and the right type of food, enough sleep, shelter etc. Without these basics you will have a hard time keeping your baby happy and you will probably experience more crying and screaming than you will see smiles and hear giggles.

Secondly you will have to spend your time. Time is unfortunately on of the things that most people will never have enough of and the one thing that every human will certainly run out of at some point.

By "time" I mean that you will have to spend your time with your baby. After all you are the parent and I trust that this is in your own interest as well. One thing that is extremely important is that you do not you spend time because you "need to" but that you actually "want to".

A baby or a child is a very sensitive being and they will see right through you if you don't want to be with them. They are extremely good at reading "between the lines" because they still have their intuition.

When you provide you baby or child with genuine love and care you can be sure that it will come back to you ten-fold. If it doesn't then you might want to take a look in the mirror and ask yourself the question "have I really given my unconditional love and care to my baby"?

If you feel that you have then you are on the right path. Surely there can be situations where other aspects kick in. The child can become sick, have slept poorly, have had to little to eat etc. Some of these things are just "life" and we all have to live with them.

The point is that love and care goes a long way and if you haven't already tried it then I suggest that you give it a try. You might be surprised.

    *********************** ARTICLE START ***********************

There has been much hype about the "war" between Sony's Blu-Ray technology and the HD-DVD technology of Toshiba. Both are high definition digital video disc formats but then factor that will reveal the outcome of the war is what format will be most appealing to the consumers.

Since the formats appeared in the market space (which the did almost simultaneously), both have been a though sell to consumers because so far it hasn't been clear which one will come out on top on the format war. Naturally both the Sony Company and that of Toshiba promotes their own standard heavily through both advertising and through partnerships.

Repeating the Beta-max vs. VHS war

However it is generally agreed that there can be only one format that will come out on top, and with memories of the format war between the VHS and Beta-max video tapes no more than a few decades ago, most consumers are waiting to see which standard will win the battle. They are afraid of getting burned by investing in technology that will soon be obsolete.

The funny part is that it is the customers that will determine the outcome but many await the outcome before investing. Luckily there are some people that will always invest and the major companies are spending millions and millions to add trust to their particular brand or technology.

    How to evoke confidence

A central dilemma to both Sony and Toshiba is how to evoke enough confidence in their own formats in order to convince consumers that their format will be around in the long run and not end up like the Beta-max video did two decades ago. The format question is really only a matter of perception by the consumers on which technology that will win the war.

If consumers perceive one format to be more likely to be around five years from now, they will buy software titles and movie in that format and the machines to play that particular format. When the movie studios and software companies see that consumers like that format, be it Blu-ray or HD-DVD, they will publish more titles in that format. When consumers see more a lot more titles in one format than the other, they will gain even more confidence in that format and the "good spiral" has begun which will eventually determine who will win the format war.

Blu-ray backed by Twentieth Century Fox

Recently the major company Twentieth Century Fox has announced that it will release numerous movie titles in the Blu-ray format and that it thereby backs the format of Sony. Releasing between five to ten titles per month, this is a major show of confidence in Blu-ray's potential to be the winning format.

The steady stream of new titles should provide anyone who is thinking of buying a Blu-ray player or who already owns one with plenty of new movies to look forward to over the next year.

The direction towards the Blu-ray technology is good news for TV and computer technology in general because of the technical advantages that Blu-ray has over the HD-DVD format.

    Superior quality doesn't always win

One of the main benefits comes from the fact that even though they rely on similar types of laser technology and are both about the same physical size, a HD-DVD discs can only store fifteen gigabytes on each side for a total of only thirty gigabytes while a Blu-ray disc can store up to twenty five gigabytes of data on each side for a total of fifty gigabytes. Unfortunately, the consumer's decisions aren't always in favor of the superior technology.

    *********************** ARTICLE START ***********************

One of the latest trends is the home entertainment centers and the home theaters. They are a great way to get most out of the TV shows and movies that you watch every day. This has become truer than it ever has been before because of the electronic technologies that are available today.

The economic circumstances in which we live are great when viewed with the eyes of the companies in the market of electronics. The technology is better than ever before with Plasma and LCD screens surpassing their prior technical limits to deliver pictures with virtually unnoticeable blurriness on screens of ever increasing sizes.

Technological advances in LCD and Plasma screen TV's are reflected by the fact that the prices are dropping to the point where even incredibly large screen models are affordable to most people with a steady income. To make it even better and bigger, Digital Light Processing (DLP) projectors provide an affordable way to make your home theater seem almost like a commercial theater.

    Home Projectors

The projectors of today can project a TV image across a room and onto a pull down screen to create an HDTV screen large enough to be measured in feet. Some of the smaller models will project screen sizes as large as seven feet across and it is normal for many models to produce images fifteen feet across as their max capacity.

Besides all of the TV technologies, you will also find ever improving HDTV accessories in the electronics shops. You can find plenty of Digital Video Recorders on the market that are capable of recording video in high definition as well as standard definition TV formats. You are therefore now able to record the TV shows and movies that you know you'll want to watch again and again. TiVo and many other smaller companies have currently made High Definition DVR's and they are often included on satellite receivers from DirecTV as well as Dish Network.

    Wireless Connections

A thing you might want to consider when you are planning your home theater is how to set up the connections between all of the components. This task in itself can be a complete nightmare for any home entertainment enthusiast due to all the connection options but one option you want to consider is using wireless connections to transmit data from one component to another. It won't have the high quality of a wired connection but normal video and audio generally aren't any problem for modern wireless technology to deal with and you will avoid the wire nightmare.

With today's technology available, you have found a good time to set up your home theater system. Whether you are aiming for a complete home cinema solutions or one of the smaller media center solutions I urge you to do your amount of research before you decide to buy or rent a system. First thing you should do is visit some of the many customer review sites as they will give you a fair amount of input that will guide you towards the right solution in terms of quality and price. You probably aren't aware of it but there is a good chance that your digital video recorder has the ability to be programmed to record specific TV shows from places other than your living room. This might sound a bit strange at first but let me try to explain how this works. You are especially lucky if your digital video recorder happens to be a TiVo.

TiVo provides an online service that will allow you to access your TiVo digital video recorder over the Internet. This way you are able to program it to record a TV show or movie that you can then watch later at a time that suits you. The online service provided by TiVo comes free as part of your TiVo subscription and is available on all TiVo Series 1 to 3 boxes.

It is not quite accurate to say that you can access your TiVo box online. It would be more accurate to say that you can access the box in a rather indirect way. This mentioned service works by letting you access TiVo's web servers and by logging into your TiVo account, you can make the changes to what you want recorded. Those changes take place on the servers.

When your TiVo box contacts those web servers (this is done periodically), the entered scheduling information will be downloaded to the DVR and then the actual TiVo box can carry out your instructions to record the TV program of your choice. Now isn't that a clever feature?

    You will need experience

Even though the system is highly recommended it can create something of a problem for the less experienced users. The TiVo boxes contact the TiVo servers but it is done at irregular intervals and therefore the boxes won't necessarily receive your updated instructions in time to act on them. You might end up without having the program recorded that you wanted. The number of hours in advance of the program you have to change the instructions via the online service depend solely on what type of TiVo box you own.

If you own the TiVo Series3 box it will make contact with your home wireless network every half hour and update the information you have entered with the online service. So you will need to make the changes at least 30 minutes before the show you want recorded is aired.

The TiVo Series1 box requires that you plan ahead because this model connects to TiVo's servers via the phone lines and this is only done once every twenty four hours. So you will need to plan at least a whole day in advance or you might want to consider upgrading to the Series3 version.

    Record while on vacation

There can be some implications with this kind of technology but it is obvious that if you can make it work for you then it can't be much easier to record the TV shows or sports events that you find out that you have to watch on TV, even though they are going to come on before you get home.

Now you can just contact the TiVo servers via the online service they provide. This will take care of it (assuming your TiVo box is on a wireless network). Even if you are away on an extended holiday, you can update the DVR's instructions for which show you want recorded.

This service is truly valuable but it can some people might argue that with an addition of a SlingBox you can download the contents of your DVR directly over the Internet to your laptop or other portable device. Now this will not be for the ordinary family man that forgot to set the VCR before he left home but if you are truly into the technology behind these things do a Google search on the topic to learn more.

Tire wear, in all of its incarnations, is trying to tell you, the driver, and your mechanic, something important. Some tire wear is inevitable, the tread life on most tires will typically last for about six years with normal use. Other tire wear can be pointers about your driving habits or driving conditions, but some time of tire wear is actually an indication of underlying problems in your vehicle that need to be addressed. Knowing the difference between normal wear, wear that you can prevent with simple fixes, and wear that needs to be addressed with your mechanic, may actually save you hundreds of dollars in the long run over the repair or replacement of your tires. Take a few minutes to really look at your tire tread periodically to ensure your safety and to protect your investment in your tires.

Normal tread wear- Normal tread wear is unavoidable. Your tires will not last forever, but most modern tires are made to perform for five to six years. Normal tread wear will be uniform, especially if you regularly have your tires rotated. Tire rotation is essential in keeping normal tread wear uniform, this includes swapping tires from front to back, and switching sides. Without normal tire rotation, your tires will wear uneven, and may need to be replaced much sooner.

Driving condition tread wear- If the edges of your front tires are unevenly worn, this is a big sign that you are taking turns too fast. Look for wear on the sidewalls as this could be from rubbing up on curbs or careless turning. This kind of wear can cause safety problems and issues with the integrity of the tire. Watch carefully for road hazards, as gravel, road construction, or uneven driving surfaces can also cause differences in normal wear.

Abnormal wear- This kind of wear should be watched for closely, as it can be a sign that you need your tires looked at by a mechanic, or that you will need to make changes in your maintenance and upkeep. Overinflation will cause uneven wear in the center of the tire; it can also be a safety hazard as overinflated tires are more prone to blowouts. Overinflated tires will wear out faster and may even make driving unsafe or the vehicle harder to control. Likewise, underinflated tires will have wear on the outside, and sidewalls. Underinflated tires are unsafe as well, will wear out faster, and will also make your car consume more energy, becoming less fuel-efficient. Making sure your tires are properly inflated is VERY important and can't be stressed enough. Other abnormal wear may come from the tire choice itself, winter tires should not be driven in warmer weather, because the rubber is softer and will wear out faster. Summer tires should not be driven in the cols because the tire rubber will become harder and also more prone to wear.

Tread wear as a sign of vehicle maintenance- Last but not least, if your vehicle is in need of routine maintenance, you will start to notice your tread wear will differ. A vehicle that needs to have its wheels aligned will show signs of tread wear on one side only, uneven wear or bald spots, a saw-toothed wear pattern, and will cause thumps or squeals. You may also need to have your wheels balanced if you notice bald spots or strange noises. Worn shocks will also cause uneven tire wear and thumps, bumps, or squeals. If you notice anything 'off' about your tires, have them checked immediately by your mechanic to ensure the life of your tires and to prevent any safety hazards.

Keep a good eye on your tires to help prevent the need to buy tires prematurely, and to ensure the safety of you and your loved ones. Being 'a-wear' of your wear can end up saving hundreds of dollars in maintenance, tire repair, and tire replacement over the long run. When in doubt, make sure you have your mechanic look for signs of wear, and that you schedule routine maintenance. With proper knowledge of your tread and how it wears, you will be a safer and smarter consumer!

    *********************** ARTICLE START ***********************

After the psychological thriller "American Psycho" first debuted at the Sundance Film Festival, it went on to polarize both critics and audiences. Based on a novel by the same name, the film focuses on the life of a wealthy investment banker, Patrick Bateman, who leads a secret double life as a serial killer. While "American Psycho" quickly earned an almost cult-like following of fans, there may be some facts that audiences still don't know about the film.

    1. The film underwent a number of directorial, script, and even leading star changes before it finally made it to the big screen. The novel, penned by Bret Easton Ellis, was originally optioned to be adapted into a film back in 1991. At the time, the author was scheduled to write the screenplay for the film, and Johnny Depp had been slated to star as the lead character. Director Stuart Gordon had plans to film the movie in black and white and wished to keep the script as close to the original novel as possible. This, however, would have meant an automatic X-rating for the film. Ultimately, that project fell through, and Gordon was replaced by director David Cronenberg, with Brad Pitt taking the place of Johnny Depp. That project also failed to gain traction. Ultimately, Lions Gate picked up the rights to the movie, and Mary Harron took over as both the director and screenwriter.

Harron considered a number of well-known actors for the part of Patrick Bateman. Although Billy Crudup was offered the part, he later turned it down. Other actors who were considered included Johnny Lee Miller, Johnathon Schaech, Robert Sean Leonard, Jared Leto, and Ben Chaplin. Producers tried to lobby Harron into casting Edward Norton. Digging in her heels, she refused to do so, and the part was later offered to Christian Bale. Lions Gate later tried to make a switch and offer the part to Leonardo DiCaprio. Harron threatened to leave the project if they did. Calling her bluff, the producers offered the part to DiCaprio, and Harron was later replaced with Oliver Stone. Eventually, DiCaprio also left the project in order to shoot "The Beach." The film's budget began to spiral out of control, so Stone fled the project as well. Harron was later rehired, and Bale was once again slated to play the role of Patrick Bateman. When he was warned that the role could very well spell career suicide for him, Bale was reportedly more interested than ever in taking the role.

    2. One of the differences that set the film apart from the novel is the fact that the book was set in 1989. Conversely, the film is set two years earlier. This fact is evidenced in the scene in which Patrick can be seen reading a 1987 Zagat's Survey. There is also a televised speech featuring President Ronald Reagan that appears in the film's final scene. President Reagan had actually already left office by the time the events in the novel take place.

    3. The MPAA originally gave the film an NC-17 rating. Due to distribution problems, this type of rating is often considered a kiss of death for many films. Director Mary Harron argued against the rating; however, she was ultimately forced to trim several seconds from the film in order to attain an R-rating.

    4. Audiences paying careful attention to the film will likely pick up an unsure vibe regarding precisely what Detective Kimball's opinion of Bateman was. This feeling was produced quite deliberately by director Mary Harron. She accomplished this by asking William Defoe to portray the character of Detective Kimball in three different manners. First, she asked him to portray that the detective knew Bateman had killed the character of Paul Allen. Second, she asked Defoe to portray the detective was being unaware that Bateman had committed the murder. Third, she asked Defoe to portray his character as if he was uncertain as to whether Bateman was Allen's murderer. After filming was completed, Harron then edited all of the takes in order to provide the audience with a distinct uncertainty regarding exactly what the detective's overall impression of Bateman actually was.

    5. The actress who played the role of Elizabeth, Guinevere Turner, also wrote the screenplay for the film. Her screenplay ultimately won out over three other scripts, including a script that was written by the author of the original novel, Bret Easton Ellis. In the film, her character dubs Patrick with the nickname of Batman by removing the letter E from his last name. Interestingly, Bateman later played the title character in the film "Batman Begins" as well as "The Dark Knight" and "The Dark Knight Rises."

    Rating: PG

    Length: 95 minutes

    Release Date: March 3, 2000

    Directed by: Jay Russell

    Genre: Drama/Family/Sport

    Stars: 3.5 out of 5

"My Dog Skip" is a film made to delight animal lovers, children, and grandparents. While it is sentimental, it's also warm and memorable without becoming maudlin or mawkish. The movie is also a tearjerker in the vein of "Old Yeller," so audiences should be prepared with a box of tissue.

Beginning in the summer of 1942, "My Dog Skip" tells the story of Willie Morris (Frankie Muniz), who grew up in Yazoo, Mississippi. When the film starts, Willie is a lonely child who isn't good at playing sports or making friends with other children. He spends time with his next-door neighbor Dink (Luke Wilson), who was a sports star in high school. When Dink leaves to fight in World War II, Willie is alone until his mother (Diane Lane) buys him a Jack Russell puppy for his ninth birthday. Skip becomes Willie's best friend, following him on several adventures and eventually helping him win the attention of the prettiest girl in the neighborhood. Other people in Willie's life change, too. Willie's father (Kevin Bacon) finally recovers from the emotional losses he suffered during the Spanish War. And although Dink returns from World War II in a disillusioned state, he too recovers some of his spirit in time.

Adults watching this film will know that "My Dog Skip" isn't solely about a boy and his dog. It's also about the nostalgia of the World War II era. Although the film does mention the segregation of 1942 south, it doesn't address the very real prejudices and problems that African Americans faced during this time. They'll also recognize that Dink is less of a character and more of a representative of the lost innocence of the soldiers who returned from World War II. Even Willie's father, who was greatly affected while fighting in the Spanish War, miraculously transforms due to the healing powers of a little dog.

Director Jay Russell knows just how to keep "My Dog Skip" from veering into mawkish territory. Although he isn't above showing multiple heartwarming scenes, he also recognizes the difficulties of bullying, war, and loss. While none of these themes are actively explored, they are also not overlooked. Russell's film is thoroughly sentimental, but it is never manipulative. Russell makes the forties Mississippi look wholesome and shows the racial segregation of that area.

Russell and his team assembled a superb cast for the film. Believable child actors are seemingly difficult to find, but Frankie Muniz of "Malcom in the Middle" fame is just right as the innocent, bookish Willie. Diane Lane and Kevin Bacon as Willie's parents are also excellent. Neither of their characters are particularly complex, but they deliver better acting than what is found in many family films. Luke Wilson, who plays the former high school sports star, also delivers an easy charm. Unfortunately, his character seems to exist as a mere prop to demonstrate the difficulties of wartime.

The screenplay, which was written by Gail Gilchriest, is based on a memoir of the same title by the former Harper's magazine editor. Several of the best anecdotes from the book didn't make it into the screenplay, which may give audiences an unfair impression of the depth and storytelling in the memoir. Also, although the film was based on a memoir, not everything that occurs in the movie happened to the real Willie Morris. However, criticizing the screenplay seems a bit unfair. The plot is predictable, but the audience's enjoyment of the film comes from watching each scene play out.

The weakest part of the film is a moonshine subplot that seems to belong in another movie. There's no real logical reason that the moonshiners had to hide their product in an abandoned crypt, except that they're required to become the mustache-twirling villains of the story. However, the events that this subplot sets in motion for Skip and Willie yield worthwhile dividends. In particular, Willie's search for Skip after he runs away will touch any person who's spent time roaming the neighborhood calling for a beloved lost pet.

Parents of young children may like to know that this old-fashioned film should be suitable for most elementary-age children. There are a few mild obscenities, and one character has a drinking problem. Themes of bullying, racism, and loss are present, but they're handled in sensitive ways. Children may also be interested in historical elements, such as ration books, segregation, and scrap drives. This is a film that's made for a family movie night.

Finding a tire dealer that you can trust can make or break your tire buying experience. Most consumers do not want to spend the time to research and ask questions regarding their tire dealer until after they've had a bad experience. But the best experiences can save you time, money, and the long headache of having to sort out a problem if something goes wrong. Just like there are many tires to fit your driving needs, there are many tire dealers to fit your buying needs, and finding the right one can create a long term partnership that will benefit you as a customer over time.

First, find someone you are comfortable talking with. You and your tire dealer will need an open line of communication to help you really find the right product for the right price. If you do not feel like you can communicate with them in an honest, friendly way, then is this the kind of tire dealer that you can trust to help you research and purchase your products? The best tire dealers in the business are open, honest, friendly, and will lead you to the best products regardless of price. An honest salesman will be more concerned in helping you find what will be best for your needs, not their bottom line.

Second, research your local tire dealers. Evaluate what is important to you in your buying experience. Some points of interest may be whether or not the tire dealer offers warranties, roadside assistance, auto clubs, or any loyal customer perks. You may be surprised to find that the level of service or care that big national chains offer can be matched or beat by the local mom and pop tire shop down the street. Sometimes bigger does not always equal better. Online reviews may be helpful. If your preferred tire dealer has a website, check to see if they allow customer feedback on their site to gauge other customer's experiences. Additional reviews can be found through business review sites, local sites or publications in your area, or online forums. Always keep in mind that one person's terrible experience may be an anomaly in a sea of positive reviews, but if you consistently see that a business is poorly reviewed, you may want to keep your options open.

Next, check into your tire dealer's certifications and partnerships. Some tire dealers will partner with other dealers in a localized area to garner collective buying power, which they pass on to their customers in the form of lower costs and prices. Some tire dealers do not carry certain brand names, while others may specialize in standard or even luxury products. Typically, a full list of brands that are offered at a specific tire dealer can be found on their website, or by checking on the manufacturer's preferred retailer list. A tire dealer may have installers and mechanics that are certified in much more than basic tire installation. This may help you ensure that you are always having your tires put on by an expert, who can also look for and diagnose other vehicle problems. Look for mechanics that carry an ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) certification, as this is becoming more and more of an industry standard. Businesses that perform well consistently often have other seals of recommendation and awards given that will reflect on the kind of service and customer experience that they offer.

Finally, trust your instincts! If you have a five-minute phone chat with a mechanic or tire dealer that seems disinterested in your concerns or uneducated on their products, maybe it is best to move on. If you have other friends, neighbors, or colleagues who have had good experiences, ask for recommendations. Ask around to other mechanics who and what they would suggest, as mechanics can often spot sub par work or missed opportunities.

Finding a quality tire dealer may take some research and effort, but the payoff would be seen in the quality of the work and the ease of the experience. If you find a great tire dealer you are more likely to receive the best deals, the highest quality of service, and the security of knowing that your vehicle and your tires will be installed correctly and safely every time.

Shopping for new tires can definitely be overwhelming if you don't know where to start. With many brands to choose from, different tire ratings, many choices of models and sizes, and even the factor of pricing, it is hard to know how to make the best final decision. Tires are typically manufactured to last up to 6 years, so investing in something that may not be the best product for your needs can actually cost you more in the end. There are many factors to consider because finding the right tire for your needs totally depends on YOU as the customer, and understanding how to search, what to look for, and determining your needs can be more than helpful to provide you with the best product at a price that you can be happy with.

To search for tires you will need to know one of several things- the size of tire that you are looking for, the exact tire (by brand) that you are happy with, or simply you can look for tires that will be compatible with your vehicle by searching using your car's make, model, year, and option (simply the type of model you drive, ie sport, luxury, etc.). This will first and foremost make sure that the tires will actually fit on your vehicle and will be compatible with the driving capabilities. You can't typically fit over sized truck tires on an economy car, or small, standard tires on an SUV.

All tires have different ratings; these are codes that are directly on the tire to show installers, mechanics, and consumers what kinds of duties the tires can perform. Tires can be rated for speed, wear, longevity, weather, and much more. Understanding the ratings and becoming an expert isn't necessary, as long as you know what kind of driving behaviors to determine. What kind of driving do you do? Is it long distance highway driving, or is it short city driving? Some tires are not rated for high speeds; others perform better with stop and go types of situations. What are the road conditions? You want to determine if you need something that will help on dirt roads or gravel, including road construction. What are your typical weather conditions? Some climates would do fine with all weather tires, if the climate is pretty consistent without any extreme fluctuations between heat and cold. However, if you live in an area with hot summers or very cold, icy winters, you absolutely want to factor this in to the kinds of tires you purchase.

Next, explore what options you want in a tire. If your main concern is price, or protecting your investment, shop for tires that may include service or warranties, look for more basic models, or shop closeouts or rebate products. Tire technology has come a long way, you can now buy tires that provide you a smoother ride, tires that are quieter, tires that are fuel efficient, tires that can help with control in weather conditions or help make quick moves to help prevent accidents or damage due to road hazards, and even luxury tires specifically designed to perform at high speeds for show or race cars. Factoring in what is important to you in terms of safety and control can be much more affordable and accessible than you may believe.

Finally, use all your tools available. If your tire shop or mechanic has a website, explore the online options or browse before making your final decision. Shop around. Some tire dealers will ship quickly, so even if a specific model is out of stock, you may be able to get it quickly and cheaply. Other tire dealers may ship directly to your installer for the fastest turn around time. You can browse the tires in stock and compare prices and availability. Asking your mechanic about tire ratings as well as tire options is a great way to find out what tire will work best for your needs, and once you have found the perfect tire at a great price, you'll know that your research has paid off, and you too may become a tire expert. Last but not least, we are always here to help!

In today's economic crunch, there are so many reasons to want to save money. But there is no reason that you should have to sacrifice quality and safety as far as your car or truck tires go. That is because there are many ways to shop smarter and save bigger when it comes to your tires, and with a few tried and true pointers, you'll be able to find the right tire, at the right price, every time.

Shop Online- Online shopping for tires is the way to go for ease and convenience. This way, you'll be able to extensively search for the best tire for your vehicle and driving needs, as well as compare prices to ensure you are getting the best possible deal.

Look For Specials- Knowing the size of your tires or what you are looking for can become a big payoff if you know what kind of tires will be compatible with your vehicle. One smart way to shop online is to shop tire specials and closeouts exclusively. This is a great way to find out of season tires at a low price when tire companies are trying to update their inventory and make way for products for the coming seasons. This is also the best method of finding tires that may be closing out for the dealer, the last set of a particular brand or even an older model of a top-performing tire. These tires aren't necessarily lower quality, in fact, sometimes you may find deals on higher quality tires that are lower prices than standard models!

Take Advantage of Rebates- Most consumers do not take full advantage of rebates because they either don't know how to claim them, or they don't take the time to fill them out. Many manufacturers now offer online rebates that don't need to be printed or mailed out. Typically this is the very best way to save up to hundreds of dollars on a set of four new tires. And to sweeten the deal, quite a few manufacturers now offer double the discount if you have a credit card with them as well, and as long as you pay it off before the grace period of no interest expires, you will have saved sometimes up to half off at no additional cost. If you are shopping for tires online make sure you always check out the retailers 'special offers' section.

Watch For Warranties- Choosing tires with warranties is a smart decision, often, warranties will help in the event that a tire has a defect or does not perform up to standards. Warranties will vary, but may potentially save you hundreds of dollars in the long run. if something goes wrong. Check to see if your tires have 'tread wear warranties' which will protect you in the circumstance that the tire tread wears out significantly before the mileage estimate on the life of the tires. You may also want to see if your mechanic or the tire manufacturer has a Road Hazard Warranty plan, which will cover you if your tires get damaged due to punctures, pot holes, and other road hazards.

Ask Your Mechanic- There are many automotive shops that offer loyal customer perks. Talk to your mechanic to find out if they have any special deals for repeat or loyal customers such as roadside assistance, customer loyalty packages, travel clubs, or a credit card with discounts or perks.

These are only some of the ways to find the best tire deals. As always, the best recommendation is to talk with your mechanic or automotive shop. If you have a trustworthy mechanic, they will help guide you towards the best deals that will not only fit with your driving habits and needs, but also your budget as well. Happy hunting!

The old paradigm that models, actors and actresses must be the essence of obvious perfection has changed. For many photographers, designers and agents the new aesthetic is one of a malleable blank canvas onto which they can create any look or design. Even in print modeling, the desired look is one of approachability and the everyday "next door" look. Gone are the days of muscle bound men and busty women gracing the pages of every magazine. During open calls and casting calls, agents are looking for what they call the "wow factor". That intangible element that everybody knows exists but can not quite put into words.

However, one essential facet remains if an aspiring model, actor or actress wants to break into the realm of success- their smile. In order to be able to achieve a desirable portfolio, a model or actress must be able to display a range of expressions and emotions. From headshots to on screen roles, directors, agents and photographers place a heavy emphasis on a perfect smile and more specifically, perfect teeth. For many, this one simple drawback in their overall appearance puts them in a difficult position. They may not be getting work because of their teeth. Elaine Gordon, owner of Elaine Gordon Model Management says, "The first thing you do when walking into a casting is announce your name and smile for a quick casting photograph." She continued, "If someone walks in and is beautiful but has malaligned teeth it will lower the chances of them being chosen for that particular spot."

One of the biggest hurdles among models and actors seems to be the confidence issues associated with having imperfect teeth. Many casting directors and agents note that those with dental issues are not as confident when auditioning. Cynthia Hildebrand, casting director for NJ Talentworks, says, "I have seen actors get very self conscious when they have bad teeth. I have seen them constantly keep their hand in front of their mouth when it was not needed for a shoot. Also, I have seen them not willing to smile when appropriate."

Alison Stewart, fashion stylist and Editor-In-Chief of http://StyleWhipped.com added, "If actors don't have a perfect smile they are generally more of a 'character actor'. I've definitely seen them have all the confidence in the world to go after those roles, but not the confidence to go after say, a leading man/romantic role. It definitely affects what roles they think they can land and their confidence to even go after the bigger ones."

Another struggle those aspiring models and actors face is whether or not to opt for traditional braces. Although these braces may have long term benefits they often take two years to correct the issue. In that two year time the ability to get work is very limited forcing them to put their careers on hold. Dania Denise, a model who has been featured in TV, print and fashion shows and creator of the internets most popular guide to modeling, Modeling 101 - A Model's Diary, said, "Of course traditional braces have never really been considered 'pretty'. For models, Photoshopping braces out isn't an option and a model can only go so far without being able to do an open-mouthed smile during shoots. Additionally, models with traditional braces often only get booked for limited types of work, usually dental related. That doesn't make for much of a modeling career." She continued, "A model can get much farther in their career with a new smile as a result of braces instead of being rejected due to a less than stellar smile."

Recently, NYC dental specialist, Dr. Marvin Lagstein has begun working with aspiring models, actors and actresses by helping them correct their dental issues with a revolutionary new approach, Behind the Teeth Braces. His intention is to invisibly correct the dental conditions that plague aspiring models, actors and actresses without forcing them to put their aspirations on hold. These "secret" braces are applied invisibly behind the teeth. Furthermore, these braces can correct dental issues in only 6 months as opposed to the two years needed for traditional braces.

This technology allows adults teeth to be straightened much more quickly than the traditional techniques. Dr. Lagstein has traveled and studied this new method intensely, then combined this technology with his vast experience in Dentistry and came up with "Straight Teeth in Six Months" for adults. His adult patient base increased rapidly and he opened a second office in New York City.

As he completed more and more cases, Dr. Lagstein was surprised to discover that adults and children had remarkable life transformations once they were proud of their smile. He found patient after patient experiencing profound life changes in their jobs, relationships and marriages. Dr. Lagstein is also the author of Brace for Success, a book that highlights the positive lifestyle changes that come about from increased confidence.

If you don't know much about fiber optics then you are not the only one. Even though fiber optics has been around for almost 60 years now it has just recently become something that has an effect on the everyday person and in most of the cases that person doesn't even know it.

Learning about fiber optics can be very rewarding because it is now becoming more and more popular and therefore the demand is increasing. To start with the technology of the future is deeply dependent of the fiber optics in order to transmit the huge amounts of data fast, and in high quality and at the lowest possible cost.

The computerized technology today and the telephone companies are using fiber optics where ever they can to provide high quality at low cost. The old copper wires are being replace to a great extend and everyone benefit from it. But because of this huge expansion and the development that we will see in the future to come there is not enough people to help supply the demand and that is why learning about fibers optics can be beneficial to you.

It doesn't matter whether you are into the technology part of thing or you are more into the service part because there will be more than enough demand in all areas of this business. The investments that are going to be made into the fiber optics technologies of the future are going to be substantial and if you have a little scientist hidden inside of you maybe now is the time for him/her to come out and invent something related to fiber optics.

There are many places where you can receive fiber optics training. Most universities and educational institutions will essentially assists the student in learning about the basics of transmitting energy in the form of light versus electric energy. As a student you will learn about the energy forms and how they flow through the fiber optics cords. The next part of the training will be about the different rates of flow, and the general physics of the operation of a fiber optics mechanism. It might sound like a lot of difficult classes but I assure you that it is not and with this basic information you will be more than qualified to operate key pieces of technology.

    Paying for Fiber Optics Education

Education is seldom free of charge and unfortunately this is no different with learning fiber optics. The costs and fees will vary depending on the course that you are planning on attending. Recently there has actually been a hefty discussion that the high costs of attending the trainings and sessions may be discouraging to some prospective students.

Luckily many fiber optics training programs is seen by most governmental financial aid agencies as a valuable resource. The benefits for both the student and the society are often great and therefore financial aid can be given to students that apply for them. The American government, for example, considers trades like fiber optics training to be advantageous for success in the technological workplace of tomorrow.

The government has issued specialty grants to prospective students to enable the educational process so that those in financial needs have the same possibilities as those that are not. The fact that America needs tradespersons has helped the financial aid branch of government elected to create an easier path to that education that benefits all parties involved and helps create a more well-informed workforce.

    *********************** ARTICLE START ***********************

The area rug wine designs are like a work of art. Area rugs will give you a colorful experience and presence in a room full of furniture. You can lay an area rug on a floor that already has a carpet on it or you can put it on a floor with a hard surface like wood, tiles or even stone. The area rug can be the star of the room or just one of the many important elements when decorating a home.

When you invite friends and family over one of the first things that they will notice is the area rug on the floor of your entry. If you have a spot or maybe even a whole room in you home that is a bit dull or even boring you can change it into a beautiful and colorful place using an area rug. It will create a whole new atmosphere and will easily reflect your personal style and make the statement that you want to make – a visual statement that is.

Taste differs and you might not agree with me but personally I like the area rug wine design. Wine design to me is not that it is filled with grapes but more that the wine design is reflecting the style of the old wine yards in Europe.

Maybe your taste is contemporary, modern, tribal or traditional and you might even be into shags and textures or country styles and quilts? Whatever your style is that is just great because area rugs are meant to show the world what you are all about.

Besides these styles you might even want to decorate your home with a little geography in mind and that can be easily done too. You have Persian rugs, Chinese, Turkish and French area rugs. Hey – if you wanted to you might even be able to build the world from rugs alone.

Putting colors together can be a challenge to many and you will need to test the combination of colors of your original flooring and your new rug. This is not always easy but I can be done and I am sure you will have find while you do it.

If you find the one area rug that is a "must have" all you would need to do is to redecorate the furniture and the rest of the room so that they would all match the rug. Choose the color of your area rug carefully and especially if you are thinking of redecorating the room to put it in. No need to waste time and do it all over again if it could have been avoided by planning just a little better.

If you have a room full of busy fabric patterns you might want to consider a border type area rug or a rug with a much less busy design in order to "slow down" the room.

Again color is a matter of your personal taste and how busy you would want a room to appear is solely up to you.

Often it will be an easier task to find the area rug first and the pick the furniture, the wallpaper, the paint and all the other things and then have them match the area rug. This is actually the way that professional designers and decorators do it. They start with the rug.

    *********************** ARTICLE START ***********************

Have you always been fascinated with aerial photography? I have and it all started when I tried it in the mid 80's using a small snappy camera from Canon. This was way back but this was where it all began and where I came to love the art of the digital aerial maps photography.

It is adding a great extra dimension to the hobby with an old camera but with today's modern digital cameras that are running on low costs and with no need to develop the film. If you are doing a lot of photography then this will actually add up quite rapidly and you will be able to either save a lot of dollars or just be able to take a lot more pictures.

The most obvious way to control a digital camera is to use a servo with a camera pressing on the shutter button. You might have seen some really good photos taken with a Canon Digital Ixus camera using this exact method as this is a method that is commonly used around the world.

However this might not appeal to you as it interferes with the normal use of the camera. In this age of fly by wire it seems a bit agricultural to do it this way. But every man does it his own way and I am not to tell you how to take your pictures.

Now you might think: Is there no way to do this in an automatically and electronically way? To do that you would be able to completely remove the need for a servo, and it would offer you a great deal of simplicity and a superior flexibility. This could, as an example, be done with an interval timer function. At the time of writing this I couldn't seem to find any commercial interfaces that would allow you to do this and you would therefore have to build you own.

A suggest for the solution is that you should choose would be to base it on a commercially available Stamp micro-controller. A brief description of what I mean can be explained by this:

The algebra is a decent size (3 meter), good handling no-nonsense airplane, and a perfect choice as a camera platform. A Multiplex mc3030 transmitter would be a great choice with controlling ailerons, spoiler, rudder, elevator and then of course the camera.

When you do the flight tests, a cardboard dummy can be used in the place of the camera, so you can determine the effect of a large bluff object sticking above the wing. I suggest that you do at least three test flights with the dummy mounted in different positions before the actual flight.

A camera falling to earth from a plane is not a pretty sight so please make sure to fasten it the best you can when you are doing your digital aerial maps photography.

    *********************** ARTICLE START ***********************

If you have ever experimented with photography and especially infrared photography you know that not to many years ago this was quite a hassle. Not only would you need special films that needed the correct handling but you would also have the trouble of black and white processing and the inability to evaluate your result until you had used of the whole roll of film and you had the pictures printed. What a waste of time and money.

Luckily this is now all changed due to the invention of the digital camera and thereby the ability to take a digital photography. Now you are able to take digital infrared photos whenever and where ever you please. These can even be mixed with normal photos and by looking at the LCD screen on the camera you are able to instantly see the result and adjust your settings to get the picture just right.

The result of your infrared pictures will naturally depend on how your camera sensor array reacts to the infrared and secondly it will depend on the filter you are using and how it reacts to the far end of the visible spectrum

    Are infrared pictures that different?

When you first look at a monochrome photo that is taken with an infrared camera filter it might look almost identical to every other black and white picture. If you look closely you will begin to see the differences such as the objects which are bright in the visible light will appear dark while some of the "things" that are normally dark will be given a fair glowing light.

The reason for this is simple and can be explained if you look at a graph showing the fraction of light reflected off the different materials at the different wavelengths. The actual height of the curves will show how bright every material is in a visible light while another curve will tell you how bright they are in infrared.

The biggest difference between the infrared spectrum and the visible spectrum is in the case of foliage. Foliage becomes very bright in infrared as you will be able to see if you have ever taken infrared pictures before.

Pictures that are in infrared will show quite an unusual tonality that is different than that which we are used to seeing. This effect will make them very pleasing to the eye in most (if not all) cases. This will naturally be a debate about taste that we do not need to enter into.

    The digital camera

To start with you will need a digital camera. Most digital cameras today have a special infrared filter blocking in front of the light sensitive CCD array as the infrared light degrades the visible light color rendition. Depending on the camera there is a difference in how much of infrared the filter will let through.

Some of the early models, like the venerable Olympus C-2000Z/C-2020Z and Nikon 950 are very permissive here, while the more recent models let just enough of infrared light through to be suitable for infrared photography. While most of these require a really long exposure they also offer a solution for a workaround. You must remember that the camera makers do everything they can to stop the infrared from reaching the sensor.

    *********************** ARTICLE START ***********************

Computer gaming online role-playing is actually the new fun spin of the former hit of role-playing games which have been sold to thousands and thousands of people in comic shops for years. This is actually consistent with our expanding world because our leisure activities are moving towards electronic correspondence as computers become more and more ingrained in our society, culture and our everyday lives.

The original Role-playing games was started back in the 1970's with Dungeons and Dragons games and rapidly grew to include virtually any type of game or scenario you could possibly imagine including games revolving around espionage, horror, action-adventure, science fiction, sports and a lots of other genres.

    The Role-Playing Games Computer Version

Role-playing games destroyed the traditional cause effect method that the original board games utilized and quickly turned the games into an improvisational exercise that most people found quite intriguing. As time passed, people used online computer gaming to expand how role playing games can be carried out. In the computer gaming online version of role-playing, normal players will write/type their 'scenarios' or 'maps' and submit them via email to the administrator or game master running the game. The game master then weighs all the emails from the participating players and decides how these scenarios play off against each other in order to play the game. Doesn't that sound fun?

How Do Producers of The Role Playing Game Feel About This?

Now, while you might assume that the role-playing game companies would just love the fact that there are computer gaming online means of playing the games and that they could use that when expanding their customer base. However some role-playing game companies have some concerns about this computer gaming online trend that is evolving.

The computer gaming online role-playing trend has really hurt sales of game packages and board games because people no longer have the wants and needs for the original role-playing set as they are almost never playing in a room together with the each other but are instead connected electronically with people from all over the globe. It is doubtful that the bottom will fall out on the original game producing companies because the product that they offer is still extremely popular all over the world, but there have been many dollars lost due to the free market competition that the computer gaming online role-playing provides.

Naturally many of these companies are now offering their own free online role-playing services and games as a means of promoting their original product sets. They are also offering fee based subscriptions for online role-playing games so in fact the internet are already providing a solid revenue stream for the companies. There is a paradoxical relationship between the internet and the role-playing game companies, but in the end, the internet has been good to most of these companies and will continue to benefit them greatly provided that the companies evolve accordingly.

If you haven't yet tried to be a parent of your own but you like the idea even though it might be frightening then you will experience a whole new world. We have all had parents and we have seen the job that they have done. Hopefully you are happy to be the person that you are today and to some extent that is something that you can thank your parents for.

The first time you have a child you have no clue about what or how to do things – and how could you? Sure, you can read books and magazines and watch dozens of TV-show that will tell you have to become the perfect parent. But when reality strikes you and your partner will need to figure out for yourself how you will go about to get the best possible job done.

Before the child arrives it is often a good idea to have a long and serious talk with your partner so that you at least know where each other stands when it comes to raising a child. You do not necessarily have to agree but it is important to know what the other part thinks and feels. Then you will have an easier time getting to some kind of agreement.

When the child arrives it is a fantastic time but also a time filled with chaos and doubt. You will put in countless situations where you have no clue about what to do or how to react. The important thing here is to stay calm and stay focused. No that might sound easy to say when it is hard to practice but it all boils down to you doing the best job that you could possibly do.

By instinct humans are capable of nurturing and taking care of their babies. Most people will by instinct do the thing that is best for the child. No this could quickly turn into a philosophical argument but that is not the point that I am trying to make. My point is that the human nature is to protect and grow their outcome and that is what we are doing to our babies.

Does this mean that you should not care about what or how you take care of your child? NO! That is not what I am saying. You should always try to do the best possible as a parent and always keep an open mind for learning new things. The thing that you can forget about is being afraid because you have been put in a new and uncomfortable situation as a new parent.

All through your life you should make your best possible effort to be a better person. This will have a positive effect on your child but also on your friends, family and everyone else that you meet. Personal development is one of the best gifts that you can give the people around you. Becoming the best that you possibly can and by doing that you will without a doubt lead a better life.

But not only will focusing on your own personal development help you, it will also help your partner and your child as they will see you and your results and then follow you so that they too can become better people.

So don't be afraid about parenthood. You have what it takes to be a great parent. All you will need to do is develop your own personality.

As seasons change from one to the other, gutters can clog all too quickly. With rain, wind, sleet, heavy spring and winter storms, area animals like birds building nests and scattering debris around, it's no wonder that your gutters get clogged. But now you can say, "Good bye!" to all that and clean them up yourself.

Get your gutters in shape with these tips that focus on how to get safely topside your home to clean your gutters. Please read them thoroughly before starting that climb up the ladder to your roof.

    Equipment Safety

Check for equipment safety before heading up your ladder. Make sure your ladder is securely in place: the foot pads need to be snug, firmly in place with the ground and the ladder frame needs to be free of bent areas.

Also before you go up on the roof hook, you need to hook up your water hose plus check for possible leaks in the hose. Make sure any and all attachments and spray nozzles work well. You also want to make sure you have enough water pressure at full power in your line so that you can effectively clear or spray out debris from your gutters.

When possible, keep someone extra at ground level in case you need help. A ground person can help clear away kinks and knots in your water hose, for example, that could severely limit your water pressure as you move about the house top.

    Clothing Safety

Check for clothing safety before heading up, too. Grab a good pair of work gloves and wear a sturdy tool belt with plenty of pockets for your tools and make sure to tie it securely around your waist.

Also check your footwear. You don't want to stub your toes or slip and fall wearing plastic flip-flops or other inappropriate work wear. Instead, opt for sturdy foot wear with laces that are tied firmly and tucked away so you won't trip and get them caught.

    Tools Needed

These tools can come in handy for the job:

    • Bucket – for placing debris into for disposing of later.

    • Screwdriver or Trowel - for scooping out thick debris like mud from your gutter.

    • Straightened Wire Hanger – for poking debris from or through tight areas like clogged downspouts.

    • Adjustment Items, Coating, Seal or Flush Fixtures – Items like these from local hardware stores can help you apply a coating inside gutters to help flush the debris, help prevent rust and damage, and help keep out debris in the future.

Take shop around and get your safety features in check first. Extend your gutters' life and you own.

This Basic guide will help you know how to efficiently remove mold and mildew from awnings. Mildew is actually what is left from mold settling into areas that get wet or stay wet often. We fight this mold and mildew often in our bathrooms, but in this article, we are going to discuss mold and mildew removal and prevention from awnings. The good thing with mold and mildew is that you can easily remove it and maintain by prevention.

4 Steps for Removing Mold and Mildew on Awnings

    1. First, you will need to wash the mold and mildew from the awnings by using an appropriate scrub brush and a disinfectant and hot water. This will help remove the mold and mildew as well as kill the bacteria.

    2. After you have removed all of the mildew and mold from the awnings with a disinfectant, you need to rinse the area clean with hot water. Add a little lemon juice and some salt (same parts of lemon juice and salt added to your rinsing water) to rinse away the area.

    3. You can let the awnings air dry by itself after you have thoroughly washed and rinsed. Just let the sun help to dry the awnings with time.

    4. After it has dried you will probably notice some staining from the mildew. You can remove these stains with some bleach and hot water. Start scrubbing at the awnings with a bleach and hot water solution to remove the stains.

How to Prevent Mold and Mildew on Your Awnings

To prevent mildew you need to prevent the mold from sitting in your awnings. To prevent the mold you need to prevent water from sitting in your awnings. When it rains outside the water will sit in the awnings and eventually create mold, and then mildew. If you can punch holes in your awnings you can allow the water to drain as it comes to prevent mold and mildew.

You need to create a drainage system that will allow the water to completely drain out of your awnings when it rains. Check for tricky places where the water will sit even though you have created some sort of drainage system. Once you have the drainage working properly, you should not experience much mold or mildew anymore, but you should still clean the awnings (which will be easier without scrubbing off mold and mildew, as well as the stains they leave behind) on a regular basis, such as yearly or seasonally.
