Most people use soap by default to clean their bodies when showering, but shower gels and bath salts are two other very popular bath products. Asides from daily cleaning, these are also popular gift items that can be used for just about any event. Before choosing which to use for your daily routine or what to give out as a party favor or gift, it is important to weigh the pros and cons of using each bath product.
If soaps are part of the souvenir gifts then know that the three different kinds of bath products - soap, gel, and bath salts - may be agreeable to some and not as agreeable to others. Here are some of the pros and cons of each item:
Soap
Pros: Soap can come in bars, soap chips, and sheets. The bars can come in so many different sizes, shapes and colors, which make them great gifts for themed parties. The soap chips are great for they can be placed in cute sealed jars and beribboned. Then there are the soap sheets. These sheets can be shaped into flowers. Some are even made into roses and presented to girlfriends as a gift. They not only look like roses but they are rose scented too. Soap is very easy to store. They can be used for the bathroom, the powder room or the kitchen and are usually the least expensive bath product.
Cons: There is some soap which can be very harsh and it is really best to find out exactly what the main ingredients are in the soap. There are some people who react strongly to lye while some can react strongly to some oils in the soap. Hypoallergenic soaps are also a tad more expensive than the ordinary ones and fancily shaped hypoallergenic soaps are harder to find. Soap is also the least glamorous bathing item when compared to gel and bath salts.
Gel
Pros: A lot of people prefer receiving gels in dispensers as gifts for they are colorful, attractive, scented and are just plain pretty. The gels are really attractive packages and there is no denying that someone who receives one will definitely use it. So far, gels are one of the more popular forms of the soaps. Since they come in a body, they are also easier to transport when traveling.
Cons: Some containers can break as most are made of thin plastic. Having one break will result in leakage. Also, some people may not like the slimy texture and it is a little harder than just running a bar of soap over your body as you have to keep pumping the gel when you need more.
Bath Salts
Pros: Everyone loves bath salts for they can be used in times when the need to relax the muscles is a must, especially after a stressful day. Soaking in a tub of warm water and bath salts will surely inspire everyone and knowing that the salts are there will make them even more grateful. Bath salts are colorful as well so they make beautiful gift items when placed in clear jars.
Cons: Bath salts needed or not, are always welcome for they are the kind of gift that could be kept for times of emergencies and knowing they are there and not having to rush out to get some is more a pro than a con. Bath salts are typically the most expensive bath product. Another downside is that they can sometimes clog the drains in your shower if the salt pieces are too big.

Family portraits are something that parents want to have done before their kids grow up and go to college. These special pictures can be used for many things, including greeting cards during the holidays, souvenirs for other family members, and family pictures to frame up on the wall or to make your place feel more like home.
When giving family pictures as a gift, consider including a picture frame as well. You can book an appointment with a professional photographer to take these pictures, but you can also do it yourself, especially if you have some photography experience. Sometimes, it will be challenging to get your kids to sit still, particularly if you are taking many pictures as they sometimes become bored and restless. Getting your kids to sit still for the pictures is a pretty tough trick sometimes, but you don't have to be a professional photographer to accomplish this task.
Make sure not to feed the kids candy or sugar filled junk food that will cause them to by hyper during the photo shoot. Also, pay attention to the times of day when your children are the most hyperactive. It is probably a good idea to schedule the photo shoot during times when they are typically calmer.
One of the ways to get the kids to sit for their pictures is to give them a focal point. This is the point of attraction that should hold the attention of the kids even for just a few precious seconds. These precious few should be enough time to click that shutter.
Some kids can be bribed. Sorry, it may sound and look really bad, but if it has to take a bribe to make them sit still, then it might be worth it for just one day. It doesn't have to be money or something that costs a lot. It could just be an ice cream cone or something to that effect. The photographer can shoot the picture as soon as the child is still and made to smile at the thought of getting that cone.
If the child involved is a little baby, then one of the more classic tricks is the arm under the baby trick. The photographer can take a picture of the baby only from the trunk up while the hands under the table hold the baby still for a few seconds.
Another way is to use the mother as a focal while the father holds and entertains the baby for the time that it takes for the photographer to set up. The photographer could then get the shutter ready to shoot and the father ready to set the baby upright on the set. It takes seconds, but if all goes well, a happily sitting baby looking over to the mother will produce a whole body picture.
Experienced photographers will have more tricks up their sleeves. It will take a lot of trial and error, lots of crying and tense parents to get the pictures taken. Will it be worth it in the end? Seeing that gorgeous picture in your picture frame is definitely worth all the tricks!

When getting baby food, most people go to their local grocery store and just grab the brand name jars of baby food from the shelves. However, in today's age of health consciousness, some parents have chosen instead to make their own baby food from healthy ingredients. If you are concerned about health and don't mind putting in a little of your time, you can always make your own healthy baby food.
To make your own baby food is not only easy and more economical, but an additional advantage is that you will be serving your child wholesome and fresh food. Homemade food is also healthier for there are no extenders and preservatives to lengthen the shelf life.
For those who want to make your life simpler when it comes to health baby foods, here is a simple but healthy apple sauce recipe: slice 2 or 3 red delicious apples, peel and cut up into fourths. Place in a sauce pan and put on the lowest heat setting. Pour in about a half cup of bottled sterilized water. Do not use bottled mineral water as the sediments can settle in the baby food and ruin the immature GI tract of the infant which could lead to food allergies and other GI disorders as they grown older. Allow to boil then cover and simmer until the flesh of the apples is tender. While still warm, gently mash the apples and allow it to cool. Do not put sugar or any additives. This can stay in the fridge for up to a week.
Peach sauce is much simpler to make. Do not get fooled and buy bottled peach sauce, there are two ways to do this, fresh from the tree or fresh from the can. If the baby is just four to five months, fresh peaches are best. But if the baby is six months or older, then fresh from the can is alright. Do the same process as with the apples: peel the peaches, core and slice into small pieces. Put in bottled or sterile water (not mineral) and allow the mixture to boil. Mash the mixture inside the sauce pan and allow it to cool. Again, this can last up to a week inside the fridge. The canned peaches are easier to make as they are already sterilized and just needs to be mashed straight from the can. As the child is six months and older, texture is important and the mashing does not have to be too smooth as when they are first starting to learn how to eat.
For those who want to make carrot sauce, do exactly the same process, remember, the fresher the carrots are, the sweeter they are so no need to add anything. Once they are about seven or eight months, simply steam the carrots and mash, leaving a little texture is alright if the baby is older. As you can see, there is really no need to buy bottled baby food for feeding a baby or for souvenirs. It is quite easy to make, you can try various fruits and vegetables, and it is healthier.

Christening is a time to celebrate and should be memorable for everyone involved in it, especially if the christening is for an adult. Although christenings and baptisms are commonly performed when a person is a child, sometimes this ceremony will be performed on an adult instead. The decision to get baptized into any religion is never easy and it takes a lot of decision making, weighing of options, and then learning a whole new religion and everything that it represents. Of course, after the christening is the reception where everyone welcomes the new church member in a more relaxed way. The guests always bring in presents for the newly christened member. However, choosing a gift for a baby is way different from having to choose one for an adult. Here are some ideas of baptism gifts for adults.
A Bible for a Christian or a Koran for a Muslim is always a good gift. Personalize it by asking a printer to emboss the name of the celebrant and the day of the christening. That could be done on the inside of the Book but it could also be done on the leather of the Book itself.
A pendant representing the religion is also a great idea. If it is a cross have it blessed by the same priest who had done the christening. Presenting a blessed cross pendant to the newly christened can be unexpected for it can cost quite a bit, but it will definitely be a treasured item.
Blessed prayer beads are also a good idea. For Catholics, the Holy Rosary given to the newly baptized is usually given by the parents or the god parents. However, there are no rules to this and rosaries are not only beautiful items, they are also essential in prayers and asking for intercession. Other religions also have their own versions of prayer beads and anyone will greatly appreciate receiving them.
Holy Oil is another great gift which may be considered unique for this oil is not only expensive and fragrant but they are quite hard to find. For Catholics, receiving blessed Frankincense is a symbol of love for it represents one of the gifts that the Three Kings gave to the Infant Jesus. Holy Oil has many uses and one of them is for protection against spiritual evils and for the blessing during the last rites.
A religious representation ornament like an icon, a cross, an image of the Virgin or any of the saints like a Patron Saint can also be given to the celebrant. This is not used for idolatry but a symbolic gesture and reminder that there will always be the presence of something holy in the home or in the room.
An altar cloth for the home is another treasured item to give. These are usually very expensive but some families keep theirs for generations and are used to line the table where holy objects can be placed. Some homes have one or two altar cloths fully embroidered and made of finest lace and linen which are handed down from generation to generation. There are some families that keep on to the family altar cloth for hundreds of years. Giving one to an adult is a gesture that truly speaks of welcome and good will.
There are several other gifts that can be given to a newly christened member of the church and it matters not what religion it is, just gift an item that will hold a lot of meaning.

Cookies are a fun treat that can be made for any occasion of even just for fun. There are literally millions of recipes for cookies and different designs too.
When giving away cookies as gifts, you should consider the following three factors:
One: The theme of the party or the occasion
Two: The flavor of the cookies
Three: The texture of the cookies: chewy or crunchy or in between.
Professional bakers are skilled at creating cookies in various textures, including chewy, semi-chewy and crunchy. However, most folks that try to bake their own cookies at home don't know how to do this. What should be done to make a cookie crunchy, chewy or in between? Well, difficult as it may sound, the secret is in the sugar. Here are some simple cookie baking tips:
Cookies are laden with butter, shortenings and sugar. The first thing to do is to look at the recipe and see the measurements of the sugar and then note what kind of sugar is used. There should be two kinds: brown sugar and white sugar. It is in the type of sugar used that will totally transform the texture of the cookies.
Crunchy cookies will need white sugar and hardly any brown sugar. So if the cookie recipe is say, chocolate chip cookies, and the sugars used are both brown and white sugar, to achieve the crunchy effect simply put in more of the white sugar than the brown, or simply eliminate the brown and use all white. Example: if the recipe calls for 2 cups white sugar and 1 cup brown sugar, to get the full crunchy effect use 2 cups white sugar plus 3/4 white sugars.
Semi crunchy cookies or semi-chewy cookies will again need a variation of the two sugar measurements. Again, if the original recipe calls for 2 cups white sugar and 1 cup brown sugar make it 1 1/2 cups white sugar and 2 cups brown sugar. This will make the cookies not too crunchy and not too chewy - it will be just right!
For chewy cookies, another variation of the measurements between the two sugars will have to be done. If the original is again 2 cups white sugar and 1 cup brown sugar make it 4 1/2 cups brown sugar. This will give the cookies the chewy effect that is so great with chocolate chip cookies.
Now, for a bonus: there are people who like their cookies gooey chewy. This is not impossible to achieve. Again for the 2 cups white sugar and 1 cup brown sugar original recipe, convert the measurements to 4 cups brown sugar and 1/2 molasses or honey. This will give the cookies a super gooey chewy effect.
Now for those who are curious why the sugars are considered the key, well it may take a lot of explanations but to simplify the process, it is the brown sugar that makes the cookies chewy. Also, the same thing can be done with cakes. More brown sugar will make the cake moister.

A great gift idea that will serve as a memento to a child of their baby and infant years is a personalized baby keepsake that has their name on it and possibly the date of birth as well. Some parents may be surprised about the value of providing such gifts, but especially when the child is growing and seeking a psychological sense of belongingness, these gifts help create a sense of family and community.
Personalized gifts are easy to customize and personalize and there are many gift companies that are willing to add customization to their products at no additional cost. If you are making the gift yourself, then all the better. No matter what gift it is, if it is personalized, the child's name will be on it forever and the gift will be uniquely theirs. Here are some ideas for personalized keepsake gifts for kids.
Baby Sweats – These are a great idea for those who like to keep their kids nice and warm during cool days or winter. Some parents who graduated from an Ivy League college or university or have high ambitions for their child have the logos of the university placed on the sweats with the name of the child and the date of birth on the back.
Baby Rattler – One of the all time classic favourite gift ideas, these gifts can be purchased with personalized text at many online vendors. Simply ask the company to place the name of the child on the handle of the rattler plus the date of birth or a baby shower date.
Towels, handtowels, and face towels – These may be one of the most convenient gifts to be given away as people often need more than one of these. Ask the person in charge of monograms to place the name of the child in one corner of the towel. The child could actually grow up with the towel and use it for many years until it deteriorates. It can also be saved as a keepsake and used sparingly.
Cloth diapers – Many parents use disposable diapers instead of cloth diapers due to their ease of use, but even for those parents, cloth diapers are still soft on the skin and good for wiping a baby clean. The baby cloth diapers are soft enough to wipe without leaving the skin irritated. Place the name of the child on one corner of the cloth diaper and also the date if desired.
Scrapbook – This may be unusual, but a scrapbook filled with photographs or images taken during a baby shower or a child's birth itself is one of the simplest and most memorable ways to keep the day alive. With the scrapbook, a child or guest can look back to the time of the party and see how everyone was having fun. The child could also see their mother when she was still pregnant with them and of course the decorations and cakes used during the celebration. Place the name of the child and the birth date on the cover of the scrapbook.
Asides from these ideas, there are many other personalized baby gift ideas that are floating around. All it takes is a little bit of imagination and creativity to pick a gift that is informative and memorable.

Article Title: How to Make Your Own Tea Light Candles

A great idea for a gift or party favor is the highly effective and functional tea light candle. They are cute, handy, and great for all homes whether in the kitchen, the bathroom, or any room in the house for that matter. Not only are these a good gift idea, but they are also a good craft project for people of all ages as well as a practical item for daily home use and decorating.
Tea light candles are great for any home, especially for those homes where people love to cook. Lighting up a tea light candle is a great way to dissipate those harsh vapors that can cause people to tear up when slicing onions. They are also great to deodorize the home from the odors of fish, oil, and other cooking ingredients.
Tea lights bought from the shop are not that expensive. However, you can still get them cheaper by making them yourself, which is a good idea if you need to get them in bulk for party favors or other occasions. Additionally, by making them yourself, you can also customize them with your own colors and scents. These candles are very easy to make and it only takes a little bit of knowledge, imagination, creativity and patience to make them. But before doing that, make sure you are prepared.
The first thing to do is to bring all the necessary equipment into one area. Then get all the usual materials for the candle making. Get the plastic or aluminum tea light cups. All these can be bought at any grocer or craft store in the area. If not, then they are available online as well. There are some candle making kits available which will be cheaper to buy and easier to mix together.
There are also some essential oils which can be mixed into the melted wax to make it scented. Add some crayon chips to change the color. Try to color coordinate the scent with the color: yellow for lemon scent, orange for orange scent, and so on and so forth. Use the imagination!
The tea light cups can be pre-wicked or pre-tabbed, or the wicks can be placed in the cups manually. Secure the wicks with a hot glue gun prevent it from moving around when the wax is poured. Make sure to place the cups on a level surface before pouring. Use protective gloves when doing this and to use an apron. Carefully pour the wax into the cups and let cool.
After they have cooled, they are ready for home use, or you can make these into little gifts or party favors. Set them aside or place them in a nice box or bag. The box can be personalized or customized with the name of the gift recipient or guest of honor. Add some ribbons to tie around the tea light cups for added decoration. Embellish the box with ribbons or a cute butterfly on top of the box. You can actually decorate the item with any charm or trinket that suits the occasion or party theme. Hand out the tea lights to your guests. They will be sure to love your simple homemade gift.

Baby showers are a great time to celebrate life especially if it is for two people who are finally about to become parents. This is a great time to welcome the newest addition to the gang so to speak and this is also a great time to reconnect with friends and family.
One of the most anticipated activities in a baby shower party is the gift opening. This is the time for laughter and tears, and a time to appreciate the gifts that your friends were thoughtful enough to get for you. However, guests also greatly appreciate it when they receive baby shower favors from the hostess.
If there are only a few friends, like four or five, who were invited and are attending the party, making each one a specific gift is easy enough to do. Of course all of the gang know each one's individual tastes, so hang on to that knowledge and create gifts that will please each person individually.
Begin with generic gift items that will work for everyone. In a pretty makeup bag, place bath gel, a jar of body scrub, and a pack of Hershey's Kisses. Then, personalize and make each unique by putting in something different for each friend.
For the friend with a green thumb, include in the makeup bag some packets of easy to grow seeds of her favorite plants or flowers. When she sows the seeds in her garden and sees them growing and blooming, she will forever remember that this was all because of that baby shower party she helped prepare for her friend. Or if seeds are not available, send away with her a baby pot of her favorite plant or flower instead.
For the one who likes to cross stitch, send along with the makeup bag one, two or several cross stitch designs that she had been looking for. Finding her the designs she had been looking out for will immediately give her the satisfaction that comes with knowing her friends really appreciate her. Once she gets to finally complete the projects she can always boast that the designs were a thank you gift that she got from the baby shower party.
For the friend who likes pasta, send off with her makeup bag a pasta kit complete with fresh Italian noodles and all the ingredients that come with making her favorite dish. This way when she comes home from a really hard day at work she can just open up the kit and fix herself her favorite dish, or she can invite people over to taste her home cooked meal. You can also include a recipe along with this kit as well.
For the friend who loves to bake chocolate, send her off with a chocolate candy kit which she can easily make chocolate treats from. The kit can include chocolate molds that she does not already have and a pack of pure chocolate she can melt and create candy with.
Lastly, for the friend who likes to relax with a great book, get her that book she had been waiting for and insert inside it a personalized bookmark. So if she likes science and fantasy, get her that much awaited book complete with a dragon designed book mark. That is one gift a bookworm always loves to have and every time she uses the bookmark with her other books she will always remember the baby shower.
Unique baby shower gifts can be personalized and if the friends have been together for a long time, then it is easy to give each friend a personalized item that they are sure to remember.

Article Title: How to Make Your Own Business Card Magnets

*********************** ARTICLE START ***********************
People give out business cards all the time, but often they get lost in the pile of other business cards that your contacts are constantly being bombarded with. To make sure that you business gets noticed, one tactic is to make a business card that really stands out. A simple idea that is used by very few people is to make magnetic business cards that can be easily stuck on the refrigerator.
To make business card magnets simply go to the computer and use Microsoft Word or Adobe Illustrator for the design. Making the design is simple, just open the imagination and let the software do the rest. The file does not have to be saved until such time as the final project is made.
Print the design on paper to test out the design first. Use Microsoft Word Business Card template option. Don't confuse this with the other templates as there are more than ten to choose from. You may want to experiment with different colors and template designs. Once you are satisfied with your design, you can print them on magnetic card stock. Try out one sheet first to make sure the alignment is correct and also try to cut out the magnets.
For lamination, simply bring them to a shop that can laminate the cards. There are lamination machines which could also be bought if you are planning on making a lot of business cards. If it is for personal use, get one that is economical but if it is for a business, then get something for industrial use.
Now, if doing it yourself is not attractive because of the hard work, then you can stick to just designing the magnet and can even use one of the default business card templates. Create the design that you want for the magnetic business cards and then find a printing company who can do the rest of the process for you. Usually, you don't even have to go to the printers yourself. Simply log into their website and send off the electronic file from your computer to them. Allow at least a few days for them to be printed, although some copy shops or office supply stores can probably print them right away. Once printed, you can either go in and pick them up or have them mailed directly to you.
If you do it yourself, you can do the whole project in a day with minimal costs. However, if you ask a printing company to do it, it may take a few days for completion and an additional day or two to deliver. It is best to use printers located locally rather than out of state if cost and time are an issue.
The cost of having magnetic business cards is definitely higher, but if you have a product, service, or business that lots of people need, then the return on investment will definitely be worth it as the magnet will likely remain on their refrigerator for a long time. People often use such magnets to hold up other important papers, so they are useful to them and once the time comes when they need your service, your magnet will be right in front of them.

Wedding favors are an important part of any wedding, although they are usually not the top thing on a couple's minds. Wedding favors are how you say thank you to your guests immediately after the wedding.
Preparing your wedding favors will entail a lot of time in terms of sourcing the supplier, choosing your wedding favor item, and taking time to package them if you choose to package them personally. Here are some things that you have to consider when making your own handmade packaging:
- Type of packaging: Box or bags? - You might be all too familiar with gift wrappings from when you made gift boxes or gift bags in the past. The same process follows for wedding favors but since you will be making them in large quantities, determine your packaging requirements before finalizing your order for wedding favors. You use paper bags or plastic bags and this should depend on the favor. A paper bag may be inappropriate for some favors such as paperweights or bottle opener as they may be too heavy or sharp pointed that it may cut through the bag and just fall off. Making box favors is also easy as there are patterns available to make different box shapes for as packaging.
- Durability of packaging – Ensure that you can make your packaging as durable as possible whether with the use of glue, staple wires or ribbons to tie edges and support the weight of the favor inside. Do not hasten making the packaging as it may eventually be of no use if the packaging cannot protect or present the favors in a good way.
- Your schedule – Check if you have ample time to make the packaging. If you run short of time, you might end up with two types of packaging – ones that are homemade, and ones that you bought. With this, your favor packaging may not look uniform and it may seem pretty obvious as well that you didn't have enough time to finish or complete them.
- Favor labels – Complete your handmade packaging by placing personally made favors as well. You can use sticker labels and prepare the print that you will place in them, whether all text or if space permits, you can place your photo as well. If space will allow, you can even print a nice love or wedding poem on the label.
- Color – Purchase materials that are in the same shade as your color motif or a shade that will complement your main wedding favor. Choosing the right color can truly enhance the presentation of your wedding favors.
Packaging your wedding favors can make them look special and unique, especially if you have personally designed the packaging. Your wedding favors will truly speak of your style and preference, and most of all, the special attention that you have placed to make them unique. Your wedding favors will be the ultimate thank you note that along with the message of thanks, your guests will truly be excited to receive.
