Arthritis is a crippling disease that afflicts a number of people across the world. With it you can be down with unbearable pain and might even find it hard to perform even the simplest of tasks. In a way, it brings a phenomenal disability to you.

The general notion that it hits you only after a certain age is, by and large, wrong. It is not something that waits till you cross sixty years of age. It emerges as a dreadful disease in elderly if not taken care of properly and early enough. The point that it cannot affect the younger generation is wholly false. It affects people in the bracket of 35 and 45 years of age. In fact, it can emerge in the form of juvenile arthritis as well. And as the name suggests, this type of arthritis affects people at a very young age. It definitely calls for immediate attention.

While curing arthritis, early diagnosis is very important. Earlier, the better! Therefore, as and when you notice the symptoms of arthritis, you should rush to a specialist in order get yourself cured of this painful malady.

As far as treatment is concerned, extensive medical research has ensured that there are many treatments available. A research recently conducted with as many as 6000 patients across 11 European nations in around 4000 centers showed remarkable results.

The patients, during the study, were injected with Adalimumab (40 mg) once in every 2 weeks for 12 weeks. Quite amazingly, the pain in 77% of cases came down to 3% from 13%. In 70% cases the swelling dwindled down to 3% from 10%. And around 25% of the patients reported disappearance of pain in just 12 weeks. The results, therefore, have been very encouraging.

The problem, however, is the affordability of the treatment. They are prohibitively expensive. Besides, the medication might also have some serious side effects and, thus, has to be prescribed by a seasoned medical practitioner.

Do you know that all the information about your body is stored in the form of microscopic structures called genes? In other words, genes are a blue print to your whole body structure. They are the key information provider. Diseases occur in your body due to some adverse chemical reactions that happens in these genes. Under such situation, they start destroying the cells. These degenerated cells in turn start destroying the corresponding organ.

Now, this degeneration of cells due to chemical reaction in genes has connection with back pain troubles as well. The connection between the duo is debatable, however.

Back pain is the most common disease that people suffer from today. It is generally associated with sitting or standing in bad postures. But, several diseases also cause pain in your back. Occurrence of most of these diseases can be explained in connection to the hyper activities that occur in the genes. Of all the diseases that have genetical roots, scoliosis is the most common.

Scoliosis is the abnormal curvature of the spinal cord. This gene-related disease affects more females than males. The reason is that the chemical substance responsible for it is more prominent in the female gene structure. To correct this order, there are many treatments available.

Spondylothesis is another disorder that has been related to some kind of hyper activities occurring in the genes. The worst part about this disease is that most of the people who suffer from spondylothesis, do not even know that they are living with it. There occurs a forward movement of the fifth lumbar vertebra, as a result of which the spine loses its balance. The only solution to cure this trouble is the surgical fixation of spinal cord.

Adding another name to the list of back pain causing genetical-disorders is Spina Bifida. Here your spinal cord takes the shape of a fork. This is a type of disorder that starts in the fetus itself giving it a shape of a birth defect. In the mother's womb, the genes deviate from their constructive function and start destroying the protective bony arch that is present over the spinal cord. This leaves the spinal cord unprotected. This disorder can be corrected surgically. There is another variant of Spina Bifida that causes back pain. It is known as Spina Bifida Occulta, which is less fatal.

There are some other abnormalities too that are a result of the genetical awry. For instance, presence of four lumbar vertebra, one less than the normal, is a genetical disorder.

With growing age, and especially when one crosses the age bracket of 40, one can see many changes in the body. Comparing both the sexes, a female body undergoes more drastic changes than a male body. An age above 40 lands her in a stage called menopause. And menopause doest not come alone. It comes with various things in hand. Its impact on the woman's blood pressure cannot be ignored.

With the onset of menopause the blood pressure of a woman goes on a little higher than the normal. Generally, a woman has a diastolic and systolic pressure that is a slightly lower than that of what is present in men. But after menopause, the systolic pressure increases by around 5 mm Hg, on an average. A higher and uncontrolled blood pressure can lead to several other diseases and disorders in life. Therefore it becomes important to control the rising blood pressure levels and lead a healthy life.

But to maintain normal blood pressure, it is important to first understand the reasons because of which this rise is seen. There are many reasons that contribute to the rising blood pressure during menopause. The main cause is the hormonal changes that occur in the body of the woman after she encounters menopause. The other factors include weight gain with age and an increased salt sensitivity of the body. Various lifestyle changes also contribute actively in this cause.

But, there is nothing much to worry about. There are certain guidelines which when followed can considerably help you lower down your blood pressure. These guidelines will on the whole direct you to single path, which is involvement of various lifestyle changes.

Blood pressure has a direct relationship between the sodium intakes in your food. The richest source of sodium in whatever we eat is salt, besides miniscule of it is present in the rest of the foodstuffs we consume. Therefore considerably reducing amount of sodium intake in your meals will help you achieve and maintain a normal blood pressure.

With this, follow a good exercising pattern on a regular basis. It will greatly help you in maintaining normal blood pressure during menopause.

Also try to include more of fresh fruits in your diet. Besides, at the time of menopause, women should avoid binging on alcohol and smoking. But there are some types of menopause blood pressure-related problems that will require more than just lifestyle changes.

At times, to bring blood pressure on normal terms, several medications are required. Generally a medical professional will advice you to consume several forms of diuretics in order to correct the rising blood pressure. The reason being, that, with the onset of menopause, some women show tendency of fluid retention in the body. As a result of which they gain weight and have swelling in the body. Diuretics on the other hand reduce the water retention in the body and thus maintain a normal blood pressure.

There is no problem in the world that is solution-less. All you need to do is to be a little alert and a healthy body and healthy life awaits you.

Before knowing various types of treatment methods to cure acne scars, you should first have a fairly good idea about the origin, causes and types of acne scars.

Acne is a serious skin condition which appears irrespective of any skin type, age or sex of a person. In many cases it heals without leaving any scars, but in cases of severe, cystic and inflamed acne permanent scars are often left out. Such scarring can give a very old look to your skin and the skin may also lose its elasticity over the time.

That is, the scars can also alter your mental as well as over all personality. Generally there are two causes of acne scars. The first is the increase in tissue formation due to collagen build up in the skin. They are also known as keloids scars. It is believe that keloid scars are generally genetical. The second cause is loss in tissue formation. Such scars are more common. Further there are several types of acne scars: ice pick scars, atrophic macules, superficial and deep soft scars and depressed fibrotic scars.

There are many popular methods to cure acne scars. 5 successful methods to cure acne scars are:

CHEMICAL PEELS: These peels are helpful for treating only the minor and small type of scars. They are neither helpful in treating icepick scars nor the deep rooted ones.

DERMABRASION: Dermabrasion is a highly developed method to treat the deep rooted acne scars and when combined with punch excision it can also treat the minor type of acne scars. In this method the skin is physically removed, so after the method you require appropriate rest.

LASER TREATMENT: This is a relatively newer method to treat acne scars but is very effective. Here light rays are passed on to your skin to kill the defective skin cells. The method is quite successful to treat even the complex type of scars.

COLLAGEN INJECTION: This treatment is basically meant for leveling the surface of the skin and bringing it to the normal level. It injects protein in the human body and thus fills the area left deep by a superficial type of acne.

AUTOLOGOUS FAT TRANSFER: Scars caused due to nodulocystic acne are treated by this method. Here fat from the other parts of the body are cut out and injected into those areas where deep wholes are left due to acne.

But before going for any of these acne scar treatments you should first consult a dermatologist. As, it is very important to use the treatment that is best suitable for your type of acne scars. And the skin specialist is the only person who can offer you the best advice on this.

Since long, researchers and medical practitioners were unaware of the several useful properties that the diary products carried with themselves. But now as new studies have come up, they have unanimously agreed upon the fact that the peptides present in the milk and diary products are one of the good alternative treatments available for blood pressure abnormalities.

The improvement in blood pressure by dairy peptides is brought in within 6-8 months of consumption. But before you recourse to this alternative treatment for hypertension, the top 3 questions in this regard are answered.

What are dairy peptides? When the milk protein "casein" is broken down, tiny dairy peptides are released. A consortium of small molecules forms peptides. To define dairy peptides, you can say they are small milk proteins or molecules made up of two or more amino acids.

How does this milk protein works in the direction of benefiting you in your blood pressure? Researches have come out with the fact that these dairy peptides act as a blocker in the pathway-action of the Angiotensin-Converting Enzyme (ACE). ACE is the key element in the formation of Angiotensin II in the body. As there is no ACE formation in the body, there occurs a reduction in the production of Angiotensin II enzyme. Now Angiotensin II is an important element responsible for the constriction of blood vessels. So, as the levels of Angiotensin II come down, the blood vessels do not constrict, thereby lowering your over all blood pressure.

Is there any caution before taking this alternative treatment? If you suffer from any type of allergies from the substances present in milk, you should refrain from taking such alternative treatment. Moreover, whatever treatment you plan to depend upon, it should be under the medical guidance of a good physician or specialist. Besides this, even pregnant women are also not allowed to undergo such a treatment.

Article Title: How To Lift Properly To Avoid Back Pain?

Lifting objects properly is not only the most important thing that you can do to keep back pain away but it can also help reduce the back pain that you have already been experiencing. In other words, learning how to lift objects properly is not just preventing but also curative with respect to back pain. It is better not to do unnecessary lifting. However, if it has to be done, do it properly.

Now, if you are parent, grandparent or a daycare worker and you are suffering from back pain, there is every chance that you hurt your back by lifting a child improperly. They might be small and apparently weightless but if you do the lifting improperly they can be real heavy on your back. And this is equally true for other weights small or relatively bigger. Most of us tend to just bend over and lift the object, which is the wrong way of doing it. Here is how one should lift a weight properly.

First and foremost, plan the lift, which means you think about the object and where it has to be moved so. This would avoid unnecessary movements while you are holding the object. If you have another person helping you out, make sure that you both agree on the plan so that you do not end up planning while you are carrying the object.

Before you lift the object, go down and hug it close to your body, and get a firm hold on it. Your feet must be firmly planted on the ground and should be shoulder-wide apart. Now, straighten your back and do not let it arc at any point of time. Try applying a little force so as to gauge how much effort it would take for you to lift the object. This would prevent the weight coming heavy on your back all of a sudden, unexpected.

With your back straight and stomach in, bring your body to a standing position with the object held firmly in your arms. This would make your legs do most of the work and your back would not creak under the weight. The lesser your back and spine move during the lifting, the lesser chances you have of injuring your back.

And if your job involves lifting on a regular basis, it would be good for you if you use back support. Get into a habit of lifting objects properly and you would never have to suffer from back pain ever again.

Seasonal Affective Disorder is not an easy disorder to diagnose because most of the time it passes as light depression. However, if it is left untreated for a long duration, the possibility of its getting worse cannot be overruled. It may start off slow with the person feeling a little low during certain seasons but may grow gradually into a disabling disorder affecting one's normal life to a very large extent. It can throw one's life out of gear.

Generally, those suffering from this disorder feel that what they are feeling is nothing more than helplessness of a temporary kind. Then, gradually it gets serious and the season starts making them increasingly depressed. It is only when the problem becomes unmanageable that the experts are approached.

Many of the studies on the subject have shown that one out of every ten of us has suffered from the disorder in some form though it cannot be considered a disorder because it occurred once in a while. It becomes a disorder only when it starts affecting a person regularly and its impact disrupts one's normal life.

The disorder is indicated by extreme sluggishness. So much so that people tend to sleep for more than 10 hours everyday, and even after that feel tired on getting up. It is true that the disorder can cause depression, but it is equally true that it might also be a contributing factor. Studies have shown that those who are suffering from depression of some kind are more susceptible to the disorder. The studies connect the disorder to lower exposure to the sun because a lack of sun makes the body to produce lesser amount of vitamin D, which can be a cause of the disorder.

The disorder is found to affect people of all ages but is not found in young children and tends to dig its claws on women of above 35.

If there are symptoms indicating Seasonal Affective Disorder, it is advisable that you seek expert assistance immediately because it can sometimes be cured simply by a making a little alteration in one's diet. The treatment for the disorder is relatively easy and quite effective. So, there is no point in continuing to suffer from it.

Everything needs maintenance and care to sustain. Maintenance holds importance in our daily life. Just like you take care of your body on a regular basis, it is important to take care of the exercising equipments that you have in your home. The maintenance will not only increase their life but you will also be able to enjoy their fitness benefits for long.

Treadmills have become an important part of the fitness regime in many of the households. If you are also a proud owner of a tread machine, you must own a good maintenance plan. A general treadmill care regime includes cleaning and lubricating. Of them, lubrication forms the most important job.

With time and regular usage, dirt accumulates in the parts of a machine. This accumulation reduces the efficiency of the machine. Besides this, heavy usage increases the friction in the parts of a treadmill. And this friction, if uncontrolled, leads to the wear and tear of the belt. Therefore, treadmill belt needs regular and proper lubrication. Proper cleaning and lubrication reduces the over all degeneration of the treadmill belt and other parts and makes it life-long running.

A treadmill belt predominantly revolves around the rollers and the deck of the treadmill. This movement creates friction and also produces heat. When you use the belt, while running or walking, the wear and tear increases further.

There is one important point to note here. Not all the treadmill belts require lubrication. There are treadmills that have an in-built lubrication system in them. These treadmills are known as 'self-lubricating' treadmills. But there are still others, which need external lubrication.

The next important thing in the line is to have information about the types of treadmill lubrications that are available in the market. Plus, you should also know which will suit your machine the best.

The lubricants that you will find in the market are generally made up of two materials- wax or silicon. They are made from a non-petroleum base.

The best advice on the type of lubricant to use is offered by the treadmill manufacturer at the time of purchase. This treadmill manual or guide will feature all the information about the types of lubricant that you can use on your machine.

It is very important to use the most suitable lubricant as any wrong pick can degrade the working of the belt, and over all machine. Similarly, excessive lubrication is also not good.

Maintenance kits for your treadmills are easily available on any good online store and retail sports outlets. So, make sure that you are lubricating your treadmill properly.

And finally a word about the frequency of lubrication. For walkers, lubrication is required once every year and for the serious runners twice a year.

    *********************** ARTICLE START ***********************

Back pain has come to affect the world in a big way. These days every other person complains about back pain. The hectic modern day life is taking its toll. An increasing number of people in the world have had to lose work time due to back pain.

Among the Americans below 45 years of age, back pain has become the most common cause for a visit to the doctor. The recovery does not take more than a week or so but the back pain gradually starts rising in many cases. The yearly economic price of back pain problem that the US is paying has been estimated at around $75 billion.

However, back pain is not something insurmountable and can be taken care of if one took due precautions. There are a few things than one could do to reduce one's chances of suffering from back pain.

Among the most essential things is a reduction in body weight. So, if you are lugging a few extra pounds, it could put undue load on your spine and become a reason for back pain in the long run. Start as balanced diet program and take to regular physical exercise. The extra weight would soon go away.

Another thing that you can do is strengthen the core muscles around your spine, which include lower back muscles, abdomen and thigh muscles.

Incorporate stretching exercises in your exercise regimen. Stretching exercises improve one's flexibility, which prevents sudden injuries. Hamstrings and muscles in the lower back must be paid special attention to in this regard.

Wrong posture has been found to be a major cause of back pain. Therefore, working on one's posture helps prevent back pain to a great extent. So, stop slouching and stooping and while you are sitting, sit with your back straight.

Improve your lifting technique in order to prevent injury. Do not just stoop and lift the object. Go down, squat by the object, hug it close to your body and come up on your feet. That's the best way to lift the object. Even if the object is not all that heavy, use the right way to lift because even relatively lightweight objects have been found to injure the back if and when lifted improperly.

In addition to the above, do stick to a regular exercise regimen. Regular physical exercise is your best defense against back pain. So, do not overlook its importance even if you run a packed schedule. It pays to invest a little time oneself.

As people are becoming aware about the side effects that could be caused due to allopathic treatment, they are increasingly shifting their focus to the field of alternative medication. Many of the alternative treatments from Homeopathy and Ayurveda have become popular with patients as well as medical practitioners.

Homeopathy has recently gained much demand and popularity in the field of alternative treatment for lowering down blood pressure. A homeopathic treatment predominantly involves the use of certain extracts from the plants and herbs. These extracts are generally in the form of minerals that plants carry.

A good homeopathy session starts with the examination of all the symptoms present in a patient's body. Unless a good diagnosis is not performed, the patient is not recommended any of the homeopathic medicine. These medicines are available in a formulated tincture. These tinctures should not be taken without the recommendation of a good homeopathic doctor, as large dosage can lead to reverse side effects. Some of the commonly used tinctures for lowering blood pressure are Argentum nitricum, Nux vomica, Belladonna, Sanguinaria, to name a few.

Besides this, another effective alternate treatment for lowering blood pressure is the use of Ayurvedic medicines. This is one of the most ancient of all the treatments. This treatment works keeping in mind certain principles. It separates the symptoms of high blood pressure into three categories that are termed as Doshas. Thus the different types of Doshas are treated with the help of a combination of several herbs.

For instance, Ayurveda has categorized a type of blood pressure as Pita. This type of high blood pressure can be treated effectively with the help of the drugs Aloe and Gotu Kola. Another type of high blood pressure, Vata can be cured with the help of garlic extracts and the herb Valerian.

Besides, the administration of herbal medicines, an Ayurvedic treatment includes two more things. They are: a regular and effective exercising regime coupled with a good diet plan.

But there is a note of caution here. You should always administer to an Ayurvedic treatment under the guidance of a qualified Ayurvedic doctor only. The reason being that high dosage of any Ayurvedic medicine can be harmful for your body and produce unnecessary harmful effects. Besides there are certain drugs that despite lowering blood pressure, can give you visible side effects. For instance, Licorice induces water retention in the body parts if not administered properly. Other herbs like rosemary and ephedra, in spite of reducing blood pressure, increases it. Therefore, care should be taken while keeping your hand on any one particular drug.

Article Title: Treadmill Buying: 5 Most Important Criteria For Treadmill Comparison

Comparing treadmills is not an easy job as there is a great number to choose from. Some look very smart, others work very well, while there are a few that are a rare combination of style and performance. And then there is the affordability question. Not everyone can afford the treadmill s/he fancies.

And all this buying treadmill-talk boils down to "having the best one, one could have within one's financial bracket." The difficulty throughout is to decide the criteria on which to judge the treadmills. That could be a real task. I have identified 5 most important criteria to home in a good treadmill. Here is the list:

    1. Cushioning

By cushioning we mean the capacity of the treadmill to absorb the pounding that you would give it during your workout. The belt and the deck of the treadmill must be tough and sturdy. The stronger the two, the better is the treadmill.

    2. Stability

Stability is another important factor to be considered. One must consider how smooth the ride is. It should not be a jiggle or wobble, but must stand firm.

    3. Accuracy

A treadmill must also be judged with respect to the accuracy of the actual distance covered. The more accurate the reading, the better is the machine.

    4. Noise Factor

Next comes the noise factor. A treadmill should be the least noisy one. It should work soundlessly under your feet.

    5. Warranty

The above list cannot be completed without adding the warranty factor. You need to take note of the warranty, machine is coming with. One should also consider the after-sales services in order to ensure that if something goes wrong with the machine, it is taken care of promptly and conveniently at home itself. Choose the machine manufactured by a company that has a help line to contact in case of trouble with the treadmill. Also, find out if the machine comes with a warranty covering the parts of the machine, especially the motor, which happens to be the most expensive part.

Once you have made comparisons on the basis of the criteria mentioned above, you would surely choose the best treadmill in the market. That too, within your budget!

Upper back pain is something a number of people around the world suffer from. Almost every one of us is susceptible to it. It is, therefore, important for all of us to know what causes it.

Besides accidental injury, a displacement of upper disc has been found to be among the leading causes of upper back pain. The parts of the body that are more frequently in motion are more susceptible to injuries, and since the upper back is quite stable in this regard, so the upper back is not easily hurt during lifting heavy objects. However, such condition as spinal stenosis, degenerative disc disease and herniated disc can indeed cause upper back pain. But it is not very common.

What has emerged as one of the most common causes is rather simple- wrong posture. That may sound quite an unlikely cause at first, but sitting for long hours in wrong posture can have disastrous affect on your back. And upper back is what a poor posture affects the worst.

Another cause can be a lack of strength in the upper back region. If the muscles of one's upper back are not strong enough the chances of injury increases. Simple everyday tasks might injure one's back, without one even coming to know of it. So, if you think you have a weak upper back, start strength building exercises for upper back.

Repetitive motion has also been found to be injurious for the upper back. For instance, if you work on a particular machine in a particular posture and the repetitive movements on the machine involve your upper back, the chances of your suffering from upper back pain are heightened.

The best cure for upper back pain in such situations is building the strength of your upper back. Weight training exercises, coupled with stretching exercises and yoga are found to be very effective in this regard.

Go about exercising systematically and under informed guidance so that you do not injure yourself in an attempt to make yourself stronger. It is important for you to understand that painkillers are not the way to go. You need to remove the very roots of your back pain. Medication, therefore, should be your last option and not the first one. Correct posture and regular physical exercise is the most effective answer to upper back pain.

Acne affects people of all ages, all across the globe. However, there is a specific time in human life when acne breakout is considered natural - the adolescence. This is the growing-up age and due to hormonal changes in the body acne is caused.

The common perception that it is essentially a teenager's problem and does not affect the grown ups is wrong. The fact is that it affects as much as 25% of males and around 50% of women of all ages. It means that as many men and women have faced acne problem some time in their lives after attaining adulthood.

Acne does not affect only one's skin but many a time it affects one's mind as well. It is, of course, not related to any mental disorder but it has been found to cause depression in some people. This is primarily because, some people attach excessive importance to looks and since acne affects one's appearance, it makes some of us think low of ourselves.

Blackheads, whiteheads, papules, pustules, nodules and cysts are various forms of acne vulgaris. However, they are quite different from each other. Blackheads are caused when the pores in the skin get partially choked. Their black look is not the result of the dirt trapped inside but comes from the melanin secreted by the skin.

Whiteheads are caused by complete blockage of pores, and their white appearance is attributable to the bacteria inside, which causes the sebum to turn in to fatty acid. Papules are relatively small, tender, red spots or bumps while pustules are a little larger, inflamed spots that are filled with pus. They too appear red.

When large, hard bumps occur under the skin they are either nodules or cysts. The difference is that cysts can be infected and deeply inflamed causing lots of pain.

Acne roseaca is another kind of acne, which is similar to acne vulgaris but is still different in many respects. In acne roseaca one experiences skin flushing. This skin flushing may be triggered by a number of things, like alcohol or spicy food. A general redness around the affected area is also seen. However, those suffering from acne roseaca generally do not have blackheads.

If you are suffering from ace of any kind, it is advisable that you approach a specialist at the earliest because there is no point in suffering when the remedy is close at hand.

Buying a used treadmill can be quite taxing affair. This is because not everyone is a treadmill expert, which is what one needs to be while going out to buy a used treadmill. You actually need to be like an expert who can judge the exact condition of a second hand treadmill.

Since treadmill is not something that stands in the corner and looks beautiful. It is subjected to rigorous work. Therefore, the better condition it is in, the better price it should command. So, you have to ensure that you are paying exactly what the machine is worth and not a penny more. Since the condition of a treadmill is difficult to judge from its looks, it is better to buy them from a reliable source.

When you are going for a used machine, it is advisable that you look for high-end models instead of low cost treadmills because you do not save much on them at the end of the day. It is only on the more expensive kind that you would save some money even after spending on the repairs needed, if any. But if you are buying a low price machine and you had to spend money on it, it would surely not be the deal you were looking for.

Buying a used treadmill directly from an owner may or may not be a good deal depending upon how much you know about the treadmills in general. If you know enough about treadmills, you might strike a good bargain. But then, if you don't know much about these machines you might also end up paying too much for too little.

However, if you want to do it privately, it is better if you take the assistance of websites like eBay because many of these websites are very alive to their reputation and would not allow plundering in the name of selling. So, you can rest assured that even if what you are paying is a little more, it would certainly not be a-lot-for-nothing kind of a deal for you.

Treadmills are getting cheaper every day. Therefore, before you go for a used treadmill, check if you could get a new one within your budget. A cheaper new machine is better than an expensive used one.

Are you suffering from acne? Or it is rosacea? Well, rosacea is often mistaken for acne. But there is a difference. Rosacea is a disease which is more common in adults wherein acne is more prominent among the teens. Acne can attack you on face, back or body while rosacea generally attacks flushing zone of your face.

If you have small, pus filled bumps or pustules on your nose, cheeks, chin or forehead, it could be rosacea. Rosacea is more common in the age group of 30 to 50 and also termed as adult acne or acne rosacea. This skin disorder is not a threat to your life but it can severely affect your whole personality and disturb your mental setup.

To identify this disease, you need to watch out for the following symptoms:

    1. a bulbous nose

    2. red pustules or bumps on the face, cheeks , nose, chin and sometimes on the forehead

    3. burning sensation in the eyes

    4. Frequent flushing or blushing.

Presence of any of these mark rosacea. The condition is cyclic in nature and generally re-appears after some weeks of its evasion. The precise reasons for its occurrence are not known. However, several assumptions have been made in this regard. Some people believe that acne rosacea is because of a disorder in the blood vessels, bacterial infections or extreme sun burns.

Genetics and environmental factors are also identified as the factors causing to rosacea. But here we should be aware of the fact that alcohol is not a reason for the occurrence of rosacea. Though, it could certainly flare up your skin condition. Some of the other reasons that might aggravate your rosacea are:

    hot or spicy foods

extremely high or low weather conditions

    hard strenuous exercising

high temperament can also flare up your skin

So it is advisable to take proper diet to cure your rosacea.

The medical treatment of the patient depends upon the severity of condition. Usually antibiotics are suggested to the patients as a first line of medication. They could be either the oral ones in the form of pills or topical gels. The medication usually continues for around 2 weeks and the patient begins to show results. Oral medications can then be stopped but one may be asked to continue the use of gels. While for the severe cases surgery could also be required.

All in all, it is always recommendable to meet the dermatologist for treating your adult acne.

As a person ages, he tends to fall in the trap of certain diseases and disorders. The most common of all the disorders is high blood pressure or hypertension. High blood pressure or hypertension is termed as a lifestyle disease, meaning the unhealthy lifestyles are the biggest culprit for this disease.

Changing lifestyle patterns and increasing stress and tension in everyday life has brought down the normal life expectancy rate of a man. So, it becomes very important for everyone- be it a 30+ or 50+ lot- to diagnose the level of blood pressure regularly. The periodic blood pressure readings help you administer your health condition well on time and avoid further degeneration of your body.

Herein, you should know that just a single reading of your blood pressure won't help you in diagnosing your high blood pressure problem correctly. A minimum of three readings, a day is important to diagnose the extent of your high blood pressure suffering.

Besides this, there are several other ways by which you can diagnose your hypertension. The record of your family history is one of the best ways of diagnosing high blood pressure. A person's family history provides crucial clues. A whole physical examination of the patient's body can also be an evidential support for diagnosing hypertension and the related disorders.

Apart from them, there are several tests that are a sure shot method to diagnose the presence of high blood pressure. One of the most commonly done tests includes Electrocardiogram or ECG. ECG includes a plethora of tests. They are insulin test, urine test, blood cell count, cholesterol test, blood composition test and lipoprotein test.

If your hypertension problem is more severe, then you need to undergo a much higher level of diagnosis. In such cases the most common test that is performed is Renal scintigraphy. Coupled with it, the Ambulatory blood pressure is also monitored in the patient.

At times, acute high blood pressure can instigate chest pain in the patient. So the best way to diagnose the effect that high blood pressure is causing on the chest is through x-ray.

There is set of other less conventional tests as well which can be followed while diagnosing high blood pressure and the related problems. You can get these tests done with the help of a naturopathic physician. The name of some of these test are urine testing, test for levels of stress hormones (adrenal) in the body, test for allergies and sensitivities with WBC count.

All these tests done on time can save you from the more aggravated effects of high blood pressure.

Acne is mainly associated with adolescence. Because, it is during this time in one's life that hormonal levels increase. And change in hormones is the primary cause of acne. A similar rise in hormonal level is noticed during the time of pregnancy. And thus a number of pregnant women also face the problem of acne. So let's find out the different aspects of acne trouble during pregnancy and how to deal with it.

Acne during pregnancy: understand the forthcoming trouble

The occurrence of acne is most seen during the initial three months of pregnancy because it is during this time that a steep rise in hormone level occurs. If pregnancy is on your mind, it is advisable to discuss the treatment for the forthcoming acne problem with your doctor.

Is there a medication for pregnancy acne?

The medications that are normally prescribed for acne could be harmful to the baby, which is why acne products are generally not prescribed during the pregnancy.

The only antibiotic that is considered safe during pregnancy is Erythromycin. However, there is a problem with Erythromycin as well. It may not be as effective as the other antibiotics as many skin bacteria have developed resistance to it. So, it is better that all kinds of medication are avoided during pregnancy. And only the natural remedies to acne are used.

Natural remedies are the best to fight acne in pregnancy

One should wash face with clean water as often as one could, and may use tea tree oil seen for blemishes and spots. Do not use chemical based face wash. Get a natural one instead.

If you suffer from blackheads and have oily skin with blocked pores, you can use clay masks.

Above all, start drinking plenty of water. The best way to do it is to drink a couple of glasses of water in morning after leaving bed, and a couple before going to bed. Bring it into your routine because nothing does detoxification better than water.

Also eat lots of fruits and vegetables. They not only clean and detoxify but also keep the digestive system in good order. Avoid fatty foods and fast food as much as you can because the oil and spice that these foods have can worsen your acne, besides they are not healthy for the unborn baby.

Healthy eating habits go a long way in giving one a life free of acne. Moreover, healthy eating also gives the unborn baby ample nourishment.

The term 'depression' is variedly used and understood. When we see someone who was a cheerful fellow sink into melancholy and lose interest in most of the things what he does, the obvious conclusion is that the fellow is 'depressed'. Depression, in other words, is a state wherein a person undergoes a sudden loss of interest in what he or she enjoyed earlier.

Such a person carries around a rather sad look on his face and his body language consistently suggests lack of human warmth. At times, the affected person might not even be aware of his condition.

Among other things that are symptomatic of depression is an irregular sleep pattern. A person who is reeling under depression would fail to have a regular sound sleep. A normal person would sleep for around 7 or 8 hours a day, while a depressed person may fail to sleep even for a few hours. He or she would either keep awake the whole night or would keep rising every hour or so. At times, the person may sleep all through the day and may stay awake the whole night.

Appetite changes are also noticed. Some would stop eating while some would turn into walking, talking gluttons. This means some people would gain weight while others would shed some. Among adults, loss of libido is also symptomatic of depression.

A depressed person fails to concentrate on work and may be easily provoked. Adults tend to lose interest in work and prefer seclusion while children may stop playing and turn very quiet and lost.

A dip in self-esteem is often noticed, which causes isolation. And isolation tends to worsen the problem. The depressed people tend to cry for no reason at all. This is because they feel sad deep inside and cry out of helpless. If a child is depressed, he or she might throw unreasonable tantrums and expect you to do meet his utterly unreasonable demands. When someone is depressed everything appears dark and pointless. He or she has a very negative take on life and is utterly hopeless towards the future.

Depression can manifest itself in physical pains like body pain, headache etc. Problems like constipation, joint pain and tiredness are also associated with depression.

If one or more of the above symptoms are noticed, it is better that a psychiatric help is sought at the earliest because depression can get more intense, and may also become life threatening in certain cases.

One is told to exercise by almost everyone and for nearly all of their problems. If you have a back pain, exercise. If you are depressed, exercise. If you have the tendency to get angry easily, exercise. For every other physical, psychological or emotional problem, there is one common prescription- exercise.

Well, if you are already fed up of taking the advice to exercise, I would suggest you brace up and actually begin exercising because if acne is your problem, exercise is a viable solution.

Some people find it difficult to see the connection, but it is quite easy. Vigorous physical activity increases the blood flow to the skin. As a result, the oxygen that reaches the skin cells also increases and makes the cells healthier. Besides, exercising makes you sweat, which cleans the pores by washing the dirt away. This improves the health of the skin and reduces acne problem to a large extent.

Internal organs also start functioning better and your cardio-vascular fitness improves. Your kidneys, liver and bowel start working better. This means that your body would be able to get rid of the toxins more quickly and more effectively. Besides, hormonal imbalance is corrected and stress is also reduced. These are well known causes of acne.

Good oxygen supply to the organs and skin, efficient toxin ejection, balanced hormones and reduced stress could do magical wonders to your acne problem. And not just that, you would also have a better overall health.

So far as the choice of exercise is concerned, it is up to you. You need not join a gym or a boxing club. If you like running, do it. Swimming, too, is good. And if you enjoy a particular outdoor sport you can also start playing it on regular basis. All you have to do is that you play it well and hard so that your body gets ample exercise. Keep it regular and do not get into the habit of on and off playing because that would not do much of good to you.

An important thing that you must bear in mind is that you should shower immediately after exercising so that the sweat and dirt are washed away quick and do not settle on your skin again. It is important for those who suffer from acne on chest and back.

Exercising not only makes one healthy but also makes one feel nice about oneself. So, there are a number of benefits attached to exercising. Go for it.

Many of us feel that when the back hurts it is better to let it have as much rest as possible. Exercising during back pain is considered to be something that must be avoided. This notion is understandable because one feels that burdening one's back with excess activity might damage the back further. However, what is not realized is that exercise is a part of the process of healing.

Fitness activities do not damage the back but they help the discs to get nutrition by exchange of fluids. A lack of exercise makes the discs degenerate. That is one thing that back exercise does not allow. Another advantage is that the exercise builds the supporting back muscles. These muscles take much of the load and thus relieve the spine, which prevents injuries to the spine.

If you have undergone a back surgery, mild back exercises would help the muscles gain strength and you could recover much faster.

Basically, the primary purpose of exercising one's back is to build strength and improve flexibility. The key here is that you should not overdo them. There is quite range of exercise for you to choose from. Some of them are backward bending, hip extension, press ups, pectoral stretch, side bending etc.

The 'dead lift' is one of the best back exercises. However, it is not recommended for everyone because though it strengthens the back better than most of the exercises, but it needs quite a considerable strength and needs to be done with precision. If it is not done properly it may result in injury. Besides, it is one of those exercises that leave one exhausted after the workout. Therefore, it is important that if you decide to go for a 'dead lift' workout, make sure that you do it under the supervision of an expert. Another important thing is that you should start light. Do not start lifting heavy weight right away because that may injure your back.

Now comes the rest part. Give yourself proper rest because muscles need rest to recuperate and that's how they gain strength. So, if you do not take proper rest, chances are that you might not derive as much strength from your workouts as you otherwise could. Exercise is the best way to have a healthy back. Start today.

Disability is one of the worst evils that occur with people today. Present in any form, it makes life miserable. Situation is even worse when people suffer disability in their lower limbs. For life long, they are dependent on wheelchairs for their mobility. Ask them and they will tell you how restless and annoying it feels when you are wheels ridden. Wherever you go, this dead, lifeless iron structure follows you.

When there is no movement in the body, it tends to get rigid. Therefore, it becomes important for you to make your body moving, while sitting on the wheelchair itself. To achieve this, you can practice a set of exercises. This can be done very easily, if you follow the wheel chair exercising pattern. Wheel chair exercising should therefore become an important part of your daily exercising regime.

Wheel chair exercising helps you build in yourself impeccable strength and confidence. It also makes your body quite flexible by initiating more mobility in your body parts. Exercising also opens door for healthy lungs and heart and the related organs. And not to forget, it also helps in regulating your body weight.

But there is a set of procedure that you need to follow, if you plan to take up wheel chair exercising. Your exercising routine will majorly involve all the upper body workout programs. These body parts would be arms, your upper torso, the neck and the shoulders.

Like any contemporary exercise schedule, you should start with a good warm up session: Practicing, stretching and then cooling down for at least 10 minutes, before and after exercising. Remember, always start with moderate exercises. Then gradually, pick up more rigorous exercising.

A golden rule is to have a positive attitude. Set right goals for yourself. Always start slow. Regardless of the disability you are suffering from, your right attitude will help you achieve your set goals.

Even better it would be if you consult a good medical practitioner, who will guide you on the best exercises according to your disability. For, not all disabilities are similar.

Generally, there are two types of wheelchair exercising patterns. They are strength training and resistance training. A strength training exercising includes the lifting of dumbbells. The other exercise, resistance exercising includes the use of large and stretchy rubber bands. What you need to do with them is to tie one end of the band around a door or a pole. The other end should be with you. Now gradually pull the band away and towards you. This exercise helps in providing strength to your muscles.

Thus a regular practice of wheelchair exercising will surely not allow disability grab your whole body, besides keeping you in a healthy state.

Recently, the field of alternative treatment has caught the attention of all- the researchers, medical practitioners and the patients. Name any disease and it will be followed by the name of an effective alternative treatment.

The same is true for the treatment of blood pressure. One of the most effective alternative treatments for lowering blood pressure is the use of herbs. Since ages, researches have been focusing on the field of herbal medicine and are trying to find out answers to the fact that how some of these herbs are miraculously effective in lowering down blood pressure.

Nevertheless, whatever the reasons be; this is a known fact that herbs since long have been used to cure various diseases and disorders and blood pressure is one of them. The best part is that more and more people are moving towards the natural methods of treatment as the contemporary allopathic medicines carry certain side effects with them.

The true essence of herbal treatment lies in the combination of various other alternative treatments like Acupuncture, Ayurveda, and Homeopathy along with the administration of proper diet plans. All these treatments clubbed together can give you instantaneous, long-term results for lowering down your blood pressure.

The herbs used in lowering blood pressure work in a very simple way in your body. In simple terms they induce a phenomenon that is known as diuretic effect. Diuretic effect occurs in the cells and the tissues of your body. These herbs increase the blood flow in your kidney. As the blood flow increases, the outflow of urine from the kidney also increases. As urination increases, the blood pressure automatically lowers down.

Some of the effective herbs for lowering high blood pressure are hibiscus, fennel, borage, juniper, asparagus, yarrow and hawthorne. Besides them, herbs like mistletoe and rauwolfia also work in the direction of reducing blood pressure by dilating your blood vessels. The dilation decreases the excessive water levels in the body. Thus, as the water level goes down, the blood pressure automatically reduces.

And like any other treatment, here comes a caution. A very important thing to keep in mind while administering herbal medicines is that you should always take them in a correct dosage and under the guidance of a herbal medicine practitioner. Besides, no compromise should be followed in the quality of drugs that you intend to take, as the preserved herbs can have certain unpleasant side effects on your body.

The Home Business idea has been around for many years now, perhaps beginning with an entrepreneurial child having lemonade stands on the weekend at the front of the neighbour's house. Obviously the neighbours house because Dad was too embarrassed to have the stall in front of his own house, and perhaps still today this embarrassment has found its way into the lives of families who we've all experienced, rejecting the thought of having or being shown a presentation of a business idea.

Now a Home Business idea is firstly about making some extra income to provide finance for those dreams that we can never seem to afford. A better education for our children, that well deserved holiday, or perhaps even those unheard of riches that we believe we could never have, so we never do.

It all starts with a dream or a desire, and if a business operating from home could be something you could put a few hours a day toward, then there is every chance that over time and some added knowledge and education, you could find yourself and your family in an entirely different financial situation.

Working from home with an Internet or MLM Business is a great goal, and many companies operating today, that are household names, started with that same dream and found success - so is it worth it?

A common saying that many use in Leadership circles is 'if you fail to plan, you plan to fail', and this is true with any business venture. The first thing we must accept and realise is, that we are starting a Business, not developing a Get Rich Quick Scheme. Any business will take time to develop and must be approached with knowledge and ingenuity, balanced with an ability to take RISKS without the FEAR of FAILURE.

For starters, building your current bank balance is a good idea, so that you have enough to invest toward your business to get it up and running, and at least 3 months extra finance in the bank to cover your current living expenses, in case things begin to get tight, as they did in the beginning for me.

Now as this is the Internet we are talking about you will need a website, which is a registered home page specifically designed to display whatever product or service it is that you have to offer. The website will be the crux of your Internet Business, and you can either build one yourself with one of the many self help services to be found online, or you can pay someone to develop a unique and attractive site - the attraction factor is not that it is pleasing to the human eye, but that it has a uniqueness and quality that the Internet Search Engines find attractive.

Professionalism is a good goal and guideline in developing your site, because if and when you are discovered online, it is then that your site and unique products or service is open to the scrutiny of the human eye. If it is a site that offers retail sales, then a secure shopping cart or similar system like Click Bank or PayPal will be useful.

Getting people to your site will be the next consideration, and this is called, yes you guessed it; marketing or advertising. Build it and they will come only applied to a fictional movie about a baseball field, but build it is a must, and advertising is the key marketing method of letting the world know you are in Business and ready to help them. There are many methods of advertising or marketing your business idea on the Internet, from Pay per Click advertising to FFA sites or Email adverts, or simply writing articles or blogs, these are all effective in there own way, and with different levels of results and success.

Once you are up and running pull out all stops and announce your business to the world. Go offline and use classified ads in local newspapers, or maybe they're willing to give you a free plug as a new business in the local area. Run off a few thousand pamphlets and do a drop to your neighbourhood letterboxes and, you could even use the kids to run this for you.

Whatever field it is that you choose to run with, be confident about what it is that you have to offer, and use creativity, insight and business knowledge. If you lack these things then a few hours on the Internet can find almost anything you would need to fill the gap, for knowledge is cheap these days, but those who have the creativity and insight to use it, build a great business and of course make the money.

So what are you waiting for? Some of the money out there is yours and it has your name on it -My new http://business.com - you know the rest.

As a counselor and parent of a college graduate and college student I need to offer my most sincere condolences to the parents, students and staff members of Virginia Tech, who were so horrendously affected by the tragedy on your campus. There are really no words that can convey to you the extreme sadness that I feel, and I know the feelings you are experiencing, especially those who lost loved ones, can't even begin to be understood by most of us. The outpouring of grief by so many people who don't even know you must help somewhat, but in the end, the utter senselessness of this entire experience must be completely overwhelming. I only hope you can find some hope and healing in the days to come.

As the media continues to churn out multiple stories about this horrific event, one of the themes that constantly emerges is why wasn't more done to stop this from happening. This is the one thing you can always count on from the pundits in our media establishment. It seems they always want to find closure by placing the blame on one or more of the institutions involved in the tragedy. Unfortunately, our medical, psychiatric, education and law enforcement communities are ill equipped to determine in advance whether an individual has the capacity for this level of violence. Since many politicians and corporate CEO's exhibit some of the personality traits of psychopaths, and there is truly a fine line between genius and insanity, as evidenced by the endless parade of celebrities involved with self destructive behaviors, the impulse to say this young man should have been stopped long ago, due to the "signs he exhibited" is foolhearty. Most psychopaths are very intelligent and adept at acertaining the intent of psychological tests, and if we tried to isolate people from society, due to "signs they exhibited", it would probably be the least sophisticated and least violent of our psychiatric population, not the cold hearted killers. It usually takes a triggering event to cause a psychopathic personality to resort to violence of this scale, and this triggering event may be something that is eventually uncovered.

So, as you watch the various specials on television and read the multitude of solutions offered by journalists, try to remember the innocent victims of this tragedy and feelings of their families, who are suffering beyond belief. Don't be quick to rush to conclusions about who failed to do what in the heat of the moment, because it is easy to do that in hindsight. There is just one person to blame for this terrible act, and that is Cho Seung-Hui. We are all ultimately accountable for our actions, and while it is truly unsettling to attempt to understand why such a random, violent act occurs, the perpetrator of this massacre has met his fate and will surely face a wrath worse than any we could devise in this world.

Lately I have been taking some time off from studying books on leadership, finance and the betterment of Humanity, to engage my mind in the relaxation of reading a few fictional novels, and what I have discovered is this. I have noticed that my mind works differently when reading and establishing thoughts on leadership or finance, as it processes things more on the side of task, function, action and goals, which is the left side of the brain. But interestingly, as I come home from a nights lecturing and begin to wind down in my hotel room, I find I'm denying the temptation of the TV to sit down to continue my absorption in this world of fiction and imagination.

John Lennon in his classic well remembered and loved lyric, 'Imagine...it's easy if you try' is a perfect truth, which was being manifested for me as my mind and imagination began to form vivid pictures and mindscapes of literally everything that was being described in the book I was reading. So powerful was this experience that I nicknamed it 'Mind TV' because the experience was so real and vivid, and there was seemingly no real difference from television or a movie except that my mind produced the vision with more clarity, reality and in a three dimensional world.

I began to think and imagine what the mind was doing in gathering the information from parts of my memory, to display on the screen of my mind this vivid reality. One scene was in the Arctic region, another in Rome, another on a 18th century whaling vessel, another in a supersonic jet travelling at Mach 3, but it made no difference to my mind as it simply flashed around my memory banks to retrieve the information from whatever source I may have seen it in my life, to display it full reality on the screen of my mind. So real was this that I was watching a DVD movie of one of the books I had read, and there was a scene developing when I suddenly said to my wife, 'they've cut out a scene, they've missed out an incredibly important bit'. We went back over it a couple of times when I realised that I had read it in the book, and I was blown away that I could not tell the difference between the scenes of this movie, which I had also seen before, and the scenes that had been vividly created and displayed by the ingenious imagination of my mind.

God has given the power of thought, imagination and focus to us through His creative process, for us to engage thought toward the attainment of riches, the development of things, and to bring aid and resources to the poor and needy. As humans we have been given the ability to think and imagine what the world, or more to the point OUR world could be like, but the tragedy is that most of us don't give even a few seconds a day to a sustained creative THOUGHT, let alone a disciplined approach, we simply run our lives on AUTO PILOT.

The power of a single thought aided by imagination and focus can produce limitless potential. Transportation - an engine - an automobile - an airplane; there are many examples we could describe, as progressions of thought have been allowed to take shape and manifest into reality. You see the power of thought and imagination has no limits or boundaries to its ability to CONCEIVE, it is only blocked by our ability to BELIEVE.

A bible verse out of the Book of Hebrews, chapter 11 verse 1, says 'That faith is the substance of THINGS hoped for, the evidence of THINGS yet seen.' There is a popular expression around that says, 'THOUGHTS CREATE THINGS' and I believe that in this verse above is the expression of Gods intended creative purpose for us. That in the concentration of a prominent thought, where focused discipline is used over time, faith will engage the creative substance to produce concrete EVIDENCE that we are on the road to fully attaining the THINGS hoped for, and in time will literally produce into the real world, your THOUGHT, your HOPE, your DREAM.

The creative substance is not intimidated by how big your dream is, or how much money you desire to equip you for your intended dream and purpose. One Million Dollars or One Billion Dollars is no different when speaking to uncreated substance, it all relies on our ability to THINK, IMAGINE and BELIEVE.

Albert Einstein said, 'Imagination is everything. It is the preview of life's coming attractions'. What attracts you to life? Is it the hope of riches, the plight of the needy and the poor? What THINGS do you think about? IMAGINATION and the POWER of a single THOUGHT can make a world of difference.

IMAGINE all the people living life in PEACE - you may say that I'm a DREAMER, but I'm not the only ONE.

    THINK ABOUT IT.
