Article Title: Why Use Natural Skin Care Products?

    *********************** ARTICLE START ***********************

Good question! Why should you use natural skin care products rather than something that might have been formulated by chemists to look after your skin? Surely our scientists know more about chemistry that nature does, so surely they should be able to come up with some far better for our skin than any of these natural oils and butters you read about?

The only way to answer that satisfactorily is for you to decide for yourself. Rather than just state that one is better than the other, let's examine together some of the ingredients contained in both 100% natural preparations and in the synthetics. Let's consider shea butter, extracted from the nut* of the Shea-Karite tree of West and Central Africa and used to moisturize and restore the elasticity of dry and wrinkled skin. This can be smoothed onto your skin and smells delicious. You will soon find your skin feeling much suppler and your small wrinkles will begin to fade away.

Even natural olive oil can be formed into a butter, or, like shea nut extract, be incorporated into a lotion to help improve the tone of your skin. Nobody complains about these 100% natural skin care products drying up their skin, irritating it or causing itching and spots to break out. Cocoa butter, hemp seed oil, goat's milk, coconut oil: all perfectly safe and each can do wonders for your skin. Each of these contains powerful antioxidants that kill of the free radicals that destroy your skin cells and give you the appearance of premature aging.

Some, like goat's milk, contain natural exfoliants that remove dead skin cells, revealing the smooth, vibrant fresh skin underneath. Others contain natural anti-inflammatories that sooth irritated skin and help heal spots caused by acne and other skin conditions. All are natural skin care products, and all are beneficial to your skin. I could mention dozens more, and even more after that, every one 100% natural and 100% safe and beneficial to your skin. Their effects can be explained rationally by science, but after doing so science tries to replicate nature by using the cheapest synthetic chemicals it can find without informing you of the dangers of synthetic skin care products.

Keeping that in mind, let's now compare these natural ingredients with one or two synthetic ingredients, starting with one simple piece of advice: read the list of ingredients on the label, and if there are some you can't pronounce then don't use it! Better still, don't buy it. Simple as that! Suppliers will try to blind you with science, using long names in the hope that you will be impressed. It doesn't impress me because I can see what they are up to: I know what these long names mean.

Let's look at some of these ingredients. Petrolatum. This is sold under the trade name Vaseline, and might be OK for chapped lips, but when you rub it into your skin it clogs up your pores, stops your skin from breathing and prevents the evaporation of moisture that is your natural cooling system. These conditions are perfect for acne, caused by blocking of the sebaceous pores.

Here's another: sodium lauryl (or laureth) sulfate: this is used in floor cleaners, detergents and degreasers, and can react with other ingredients to generate dangerous nitrates and dioxins. It is used in skin care preparations to stabilize mousses and foams, and it can cause hair loss and severe skin irritation. Keep clear of this. How about collagen and elastin? Natural? Yes, in respect of it being extracted from ground chicken feet (feet not feed) and dead animal skins and so an appalling option for vegetarians or vegans. In any case, the resultant molecules are very large and could never penetrate into your skin so they have no function other than to pollute it.

I could go on and mention disodium EDTA (a corrosive organic acid), ethanolamine or 2-aminoethanol (caustic and corrosive), and even propylene glycol - antifreeze! None of these are good for you, but they are cheaper than natural products and appear to have similar effects, but they don't. I recommend none of them to you. None of them are natural products: all are manufactured.

So, rather than me just state that organic natural products are to be preferred to their synthetic cousins, you can make your own mind up. You might not mind paying less money for poisons and irritants, but in my view you would be better using nothing at all. Give your money to charity, buy nothing and your skin will likely be in better condition that if you used the synthetic substances mentioned above - and these are only a very few of them.

If you have the choice, buy natural every time. You should make sure that you know what you are rubbing into your skin and ignore advertising hype, because that's what most of it is. Hype, to get you to part with your dollar. Don't do it! Spend it on something that is going to benefit you, and purchase the best natural skin care products you can. However, if you suffer specific allergies, note the comment below (Purveyors of synthetics don't tell you that!)

    * Those with nut allergies might be adversely affected by nut extracts, so if you have a nut allergy make sure you know the ingredients of even natural skin care products, because they might harm you. Much depends on the nature of your allergy, so refer to your doctor before using them.

Article Title: How to Rent DVD Movies Online

    *********************** ARTICLE START ***********************

It is fairly simple to rent DVD movies online if you understand exactly what you are looking for and how to choose the correct rental site. To rent online movies you should find an online video rental company that offers you the following:

    1. A free trial for a period of time, so that you can assess whether or not they are offering you the level and type of service you want. You should not have to make a monthly payment until you have been able to check out the services being offered. When you rent DVD movies online, it is acceptable to have to provide your payment details in advance, because that is how many free offers are initiated, but you should be able to cancel any payments due within the specified trial time period.

    2. A large selection of DVDs from which you can choose, and also a good indexing system. You should be able to select your videos from lists of actors, genres and movies, and also be able to reserve movies that have been fully booked out for a period.

    3. A selection of formats: when you rent online movies, nobody expects to be offered VHS cassettes anymore, but at least DVD and Blu-ray should be available. Not all movies will be available in Blu-ray because this is a relatively new technology, and not all disk manufacturers are equipped to handle it, but where it is available it should be made available to you from whichever rental company you choose from which to rent DVD movies online.

    4. Any online video rental business should be able to offer you the most up to date movies, and the fact that they have not yet been released on video should not mean that you cannot order them. Choose an online movie rental that enables you to rent DVD movies online by booking unreleased movies in advance so that you can be among the first in line to have them delivered once they are available.

Once you have found a rental site that offers you all of this, register for their free trial. During the trial period you should make sure that you:

    a) Determine their delivery times, and the time taken between you posting your video back to them and you receiving your next order. Mine takes two days: post back on Monday, get your next videos on Wednesday. Obviously postal problems can have an impact, but that is what generally happens with my video rental company.

    b) Make sure that each service they offer is met correctly. For example, that TV series are sent in the correct order, and that you do not receive Series 2 before Series 1. If that happens do not expect prevarication if you ask for a partial refund of your monthly payment. Difficult to do on a trial,

but you get the general idea.

    c) If you rent online movies for your children, make sure that they cannot access any adult pages on the website.

    d) When you rent DVD movies online you should have the security of knowing that if you return DVDs in the envelopes provided then any damage done is not ascribed to you. Your rental company is responsible for the integrity of the packaging they provide for you to return your disks.

    e) Finally, if your DVD goes missing after you post it you should not be responsible. Some rental companies will charge you for the DVD, but a good one will not: at least not for the first. If it happens again next time, then naturally there will be a problem and you will have some questions to answer, but your first incidence should not result in you having to pay for it.

When you rent movies online you should not only be aware of your own responsibilities, but also of those of your rental company. Make sure that you read the fine print and know exactly what it is saying, so that should anything unplanned happen then you are fully aware, not only of the responsibilities of the renting business, but also of your responsibility.

Lots of individuals and families rent DVD movies online, and the process should be made as simple as possible. In seeking the best company for you from which to rent movies online, you should make sure that you get what you want, you get it at a low cost and that you have as much flexibility as possible both in your choice of movies, the formats in which they are provided and in the payment options available.

It is easy to find websites enabling you to rent DVD movies online, but choosing the best and most appropriate for your needs takes a bit of research and testing, and one that offers a free trial should be your first choice - at least initially.

Your credit report is one of the most important documents that anybody can have access to. It ranks right up there with your passport, birth certificate, and medical and criminal records. It is the basis on which companies decide whether or not to give you credit, and if you think you do not need or use credit then think again.

Do you have a credit card? Do you use any form of mail order purchasing. Do you hire anything, such as a TV or a car now and again? Do you want to rent your home, or are you going to need a mortgage? Do you already have a mortgage and want to raise some money on it, such as remortgage in order to add a swimming pool or an extension? Do you intend applying for a new job sometime in the future?

Will you ever need finance to buy a car, trailer or anything else that most people have to pay up over time due to cost? Do you ever want to have a responsible position in a government department, work in a bank or get a license to lend money or have anything whatsoever to do with finance such as taking promotion at work to the finance department? Do you want to change your telephone provider, or arrange a cell phone plan?

I could list a lot more, but with every one of these somebody will likely check up your credit report. It might just be the abbreviated version, in the form of a credit score that takes other aspects of credit into consideration as well as your report, but your credit report is important to you, even if you are unaware of it.

I bet you have never seen it! Nobody seems to worry much about it until they suddenly find that they cannot get credit. The individual or company refusing you has no obligation to provide a reason, but they must tell you what credit reference agency they used. You are then entitled to a copy of your credit report. In the USA it is free, but in the UK you have to pay – it is only a small sum, and there are ways to avoid even that, and get a free annual report as Americans can.

In the USA, if you are refused credit, you are entitled to an immediate free copy of your report from the agencies used by the company refusing you. Even if you have not been refused, you are entitles to a free credit report from the three main credit reporting agencies every year. This is not so in the UK where you can get a free online credit report at any time if you pay an annual registration fee to each agency or single reports for a small sum each.

The three credit agencies are Experian, Equifax and TransUnion, and you can get your free triple credit reports by application to the appropriate body – not the individual agencies. Only one body is authorized to provide you with the triple report: more information on this is given through the link below. Your credit score is a differ matter and you generally have to pay for that.

Many people are given bad credit record through error, mistaken identity or fraud. If you never look at your record you will never know it. You might have had a lodger or paying guest that recorder your address as theirs, and never changed the record. If they go on to have bad debts, your home will be recorded with the record of bad debt, and everybody living in your household will suffer because of it.

If you have sight of your credit record, you could have these entries removed. If you simply state that you are not financially responsible for the person with the bad debts, then the record can be removed. There are other credit laws to protect you, but you must have your credit record to examine.

So get moving and get your credit record. There are people that can help you to get your records put straight, and repair your credit score. Do not be confused by the difference between a credit record and credit score: your score is based on the record, and the more false entries you get off your credit record then the better your credit score will become.

About The Author: For information on how to get your free credit report, and details on how to read and understand it, check out http://www.principal-finance.com/credit-report.html where you will find plenty other useful information on how to improve your credit rating.

    *********************** ARTICLE START ***********************

People get worried when they hear about terms such as SEO and LSI, and when they try to find out how to use latent semantic indexing, they get even more worried when they get conflicting messages. On the one hand some say that LSI doesn't exist and therefore can't be used, while others, on the other hand, state that it is critical to your website's success with the search engines.

We all know what computer people are like, the way they try to make acronyms of everything. LSI is one of these, although not quite what you would call an acronym. LSI does exist, but not in the form that Google would have us believe, and not in any form that you can use to make your website 'LSI compliant'. Anybody claiming that they can do that are simply playing Google's trick and using big names for what is a very simple thing to do.

    LSI or LSA?

Without going into any detail as to the mathematical background of LSA, it can be used, and is used, to determine the relevance of a passage of text to any given topic based upon a keyword or multiple word search term. LSA was, incidentally, patented by a group of people in 1988, although the basics were known prior to this. LSI is nothing more than the use of LSA in the indexing and retrieval of information. It is therefore a concept, and you cannot make a 'concept compliant' web page.

However, it is all semantics (ha-ha!) and the meat of this article is not to knock holes in the way the terms LSA and LSI are being wrongly used by SEO experts, but inform as to how you can make your web page more likely to be considered relevant to the main keyword for which you want your page indexed. This is very simple and does not warrant all the books now being offered on the subject.

    The Development of Adsense

Latent semantic analysis is used by Google primarily to detect spam, in respect of excessive repetition of keywords in order to fool the search engines into providing a high listing for that keyword. There was a time when smart people could indeed achieve this simply by writing a meaningless template with rotating synonyms into which any keyword could be multiply inserted by means of software. Thousands of pages could be generated in minutes, each targeting a different keyword. Some were making $thousands daily from Adsense using this method.

In fact the principles of LSA to determine the content of web pages were used by a small company called Oingo that changed its name to Applied Semantics who developed a search system to determine the relevance of page content for specific advert placement. They called this Adsense. This company was in turn bought by Google in April, 2003, and Adsense used to replace their own system which was still under development. Adsense, then, was not developed by Google, but purchased by them.

    BigDaddy and Character String Analysis

The principles were also applied to determine the relevance of on-page text to specific search terms and used in the web indexing algorithm called BigBaddy, used by the Googlebot to index your web pages. BigDaddy appears to view links and relevance as the two major factors among many others that determine your listing position in the index for any specific search term as used by a Google customer.

Back to spam. Your web page content is now analyzed by the statistical mathematical analysis tool known as LSA/LSI and indexed according to the meaning of the words in your text. It goes further than just checking for the excessive use of specific words, and no longer searches only for indices of your stated keywords. LSA informs Google of the true meaning of your text, and you cannot hide this by repetitions of a single key phrase. Let's call it LSI because that's what Google calls it. LSI analyzes the character strings in your text and compares them to a large database of words, the meanings of which have been defined.

    Same Words – Different Meanings

LSI is used to determine the true meaning of homonyms, heteronyms and polysemes. Homonyms are spelled and pronounced the same, but have different meanings, such as lock, with three meanings. A heteronym is a word spelled the same as another, but with a different pronunciation and meaning, such as lead: a metal or to be in front. Polysemes are words spelled the same, and from the same root, but used differently such as a mole – a burrowing animal, or a mole – a spy deliberately placed in an organization. Both moles have the same root, but the words are used in different contexts. LSI or LSA can be used to determine the difference by means of analysis of the other words in the text.

If your page has been written around the keyword lock (my usual example of a homonym), without any decent content the reader would find it difficult to tell what type of locks you were writing about. The LSA algorithm would be looking for words such as canals, keys or hair to tell the difference and know where to list it.

All you need do is to look up thesaurus.com, and then use plenty of alternative vocabulary in your content that explains its meaning precisely. You can also use the tilde (~) in a Google search for your keyword. While Google does not highlight exactly correct synonyms, it will give you an indication of what vocabulary it regards as being equivalent. If you do that with 'locks' all you get are 'lock' and 'locks', and all are security locks. Interestingly, when you do it with 'canal locks', Google also highlight 'narrow'. This indicates that if your topic is on canal locks, using the word 'narrow' will be to your advantage.

    Semantics and Vocabulary

If you keep in mind that the main purpose of the LSI component of BigDaddy is to detect keyword spamming, and to determine for what search term the page should be indexed, then it should be obvious to you that the sue of contextually related vocabulary will reveal the semantics of your page. Semantics is nothing more than the meaning of the words you are using, and where your keywords could have more than one meaning, you have to make the meaning clear through the use of related text. Nothing more than that.

If you write naturally, as you would if you were talking to somebody, and trying to explain your subject, then you will not have any problems with the LSI algorithm. There is no need to use an SEO expert, since they are not necessarily qualified in their knowledge and use of language. A thesaurus will do the job fine.

Keyword Density is not What it Was

Do not overuse your keywords, and the old adage that you should have between 1% and 3% keyword density on your page no longer applies. Use it often enough to stress its importance, which means as the page title, as the heading in H1 tags, and in the first 100 characters and in the last paragraph. Google will check all four of these, and will regard any words it finds there, other than fillers and stop words, as being important. Use it again every 300 words or so and that is enough.

SEO and LSI are not really related since the term LSI is used in the wrong context here. However, in the way that it is used, if you use good vocabulary, contextually relevant to your keywords, then you will also be using good SEO. How to use latent semantic indexing properly is irrelevant in pure terminology, since you can't use it on your web page. Google can use it in their algorithm, and you should make your vocabulary as understandable as possible by means of simple words that express the meaning of your text.

If you really want to know how to use relevance in your web content for any page on your website, and write content for your website that cannot be misconstrued, you have to open your eyes and look at what you are writing. I have read so much hysterical tripe online, even on the first page of Google from reasonably respected websites, that I despair for the intelligence of many people.

Given that their sites are not at #1 - #5 due to a lack of ability or intelligence, then I also despair for their honesty. Who really cares about complex mathematical equations? This big term 'Latent Semantic Indexing', or LSI for short, is a meaningless term for webmasters and they should not even be bothering with it, let alone contemplating teaching you about it.

I have a page on my website telling you what it is not! Perhaps more people should read that. In fact, the Google algorithm contains an element of Latent Semantic Analysis, there is no such a term as LSI, and you certainly can't make your website LSI compliant, since that term indicates a total ignorance in what it actually is. Any statistical mathematician can tell you that! It's pretty basic.

Here's a heads up on how to keep relevance to your topic and keywords, or to phrase it another way, maintain contextually relevant content on your web pages. 'Phrasing it another way' is a good way, in fact, to maintain that relevance without repetition. This is what Google likely mean by LSI (a misnomer in any case), since it works perfectly for me.

The first thing you have to do when writing content for your website is to determine your keyword or phrase. To me 'Relevance in your Web content' is a keyword. OK? That's normal accepted terminology. Your keyword can be a single word or a long phrase – what is called a 'long-tailed keyword'. Decide on the keyword you are using, then use THAT as the title of your web page. Use the Title html tags for it, and put it in H1 tags at the top of your web page.

Now study that keyword very carefully, and break it down into its components. Is their any way that an alien using a dictionary for every word could come down to earth and misinterpret the meaning of your keyword? If so be aware of the fact, and immediately put the alien right in the very first sentence of your article or page content. Here are two examples. Once is very commonly used on the web and the other is not. Have you spotted the second already? It is in this article! Now the first:

Take the keyword 'How to Train German Shepherds'. Great – good keyword, lots of demand and it makes a good title. However, let's break it down. In the Concise Oxford Dictionary, 'german' can mean having both parents the same, and shepherd is somebody who tends sheep. So your alien could believe that your article is about a shepherd tending his flock with two parents the same. Illogical? Perhaps. Semantically correct: certainly. So now, for the alien read the Google algorithm.

Your job is telling the alien exactly what you mean by your use of words. First, you might mention the German canine – so the alien does his thing and comes up with one of the front teeth of a person from Germany. Get the drift? So-called LSI has nothing to do with it. You have to write using vocabulary that explains exactly, and incontrovertibly, what the subject of your page is.

In your first sentence use 'dogs', 'Germany' perhaps, Alsatian, dog training, puppy, and so on so that when put together the meaning is obvious. Leave that till the last paragraph and the spider will be off wondering why you are trying to train a shepherd with two similar parents that have front teeth - and wear dog collars! Perhaps they are German vicars!

Write using as much text as is reasonable and normal in your article that describes the true meaning of your page, and the message it is conveying. Don't overuse your keyword: in the title, first 100 characters and last paragraph is enough, plus once each 400 words. Certainly not 3% - 15 times in a 500 word page? That's spamming and you will not be listed. The algorithm is looking for no more times that you would use in speech or normal writing: the rest should be of similar meaning. Use a thesaurus: thesaurus.com is a good reference.

OK? Get the idea. Now for another twist to this. Check out my title again. "How to Use Relevance in Your Web Content". You know what I mean and I know what I mean, but we don't determine the listing position of this article on a search engine. What does? A spider!

What does a spider think of when it sees the juxtaposition of the words 'Web' and 'Content'?

You don't have to be 'Fly for white guy' to work that one out. Use the first paragraph to begin your explanation, so that the spider isn't salivating thinking that your article is relevant to its dinner!

Article Title: What Is Bum Marketing: How To Make Money With A $5 Budget

    *********************** ARTICLE START ***********************

Bum marketing is so called because even a bum can make money using this method. You need no outlay and can start with nothing. Absolutely zilch!

I had absolutely zilch because I had maxed out 7 credit cards. I used to laugh when I read about others doing that with just two, but I did it myself – in spades! My only word to you would be very careful how you use PPC programs like Adwords because I wasn't. But that's another story.

I discovered bum marketing because if there is one thing I am good at, it is writing. Bum marketing involves finding a profitable niche, or one that could be profitable. It has to be something with a reasonable large following, and a reasonable number of topics attached to it. Like fly fishing or quilting, or something similar. Something that is followed by people you would expect to have money. You don't want people flinching at paying $97 for a product related to their hobby or interest.

You then have to find some decent keywords. For bum marketing it doesn't matter too much if there is competition for them, but not too general. Not 'quilting' but perhaps 'hand quilting machines' or 'deep throat quilters'. Then get a website set up. You can get a cheap functional site for under $5 a month and then set up a website. A sales page for a product and a few pages with some content. If you can get it, register a domain name that is the same as, or relates to, one of the keywords you have chosen.

Write a few articles on the topic of your website, and use one for each of the web pages. Bum marketing is all about article writing. You should have one web page for each keyword you are using relating to your website. Find a few products to sell. If you have your own then great, but if not sell affiliate products.

Then write a few more articles and submit them to article directories. Each directory will allow you what is known as an 'Author's Resource Box' in which you can say a little about yourself and provide a URL for people to click on for more information. The URL should lead to a page that relates to the topic of the article, and should ideally be a text link with the keyword or phrase that is the title of your web page. The text link should be hyperlinked to the page; what is termed an 'active' link'.

If the directory does not specifically provide a Resource Box, you can add that information after your article. It has to be included and will go with your article whenever it is copied and used. The article will not only bring you traffic, but also valuable links back to your web pages.

It is important that you continue to write and keep pumping out new articles. I like to write two every week and send them off to the top 25 directories. That's all I have to do because most of the top 25 provide material to other directories, and before you know it your articles are all over the internet. That's bum marketing.

As I said, even a bum with no money can do it. I know, because I was that bum at one time. I am no longer!

Article Title: What Is Seo: Myth Or Reality? Some Thoughts On Search Engine Optimization

    *********************** ARTICLE START ***********************

What is SEO? Have you ever though about what you are trying to achieve with search engine optimization, and what you were doing with your website to achieve it? Have you never wondered if there were better ways to get to where you want to be as a result of SEO?

I have – frequently. And I have looked closely at what I am doing with my website and whether or not it improves it. In fact, it is not your website that your have to optimize, but each individual web page. I have come to the conclusion that as Google, in particular, make changes to their requirements in order that you get a high listing – or listed at all for that matter – the less I have to do to optimize my website.

In fact, when I look closely, what I do in SEO these days is simply common sense, and what I should be doing is to design my site to the advantage of my customers. I have had people write to me proclaiming to be SEO experts and criticizing my bad HTML. 'Crap' it was called by one, yet my website with 'crap' HTML is higher in the search engine listings that theirs. Perhaps they can't find the right keywords, but they are the experts.

So HTML is not important. We are told that Meta tags are no longer important. So what is left? Ensuring that each page's title is the same as the keyword it is written round – well, that is just common sense. That is what I would do anyway, so that my visitors would know what the page was about. I should also put these in H1 tags. Ok, that's simple to do. Nothing mystical there.

What else? Oh, yes. The keyword density. Surprise, surprise, the ideal is to have your keyword once in the first 100 characters and again in the last paragraph of a page with 400 – 500 words. Any more words than that, then put it in once again. Don't believe anybody that tells you that you must have 1% - 3% keyword density. That means 5 – 15 keywords in a 500 word page! That's old hat and a fast way to search engine oblivion. These days are over.

There's not much left of classical SEO to worry about. The two majors that I have left to consider are internal and external linking strategies. Let's look at external links first. They are important, and Google have stated so, but for how long? There are rumors that back-links are going to become less important since content is now taking second place to artificially formed links.

At one time, Google looked upon links back to your site from another as a sign that your site was considered to be an authority on the subject. I will use the word 'site', but it should really be 'page' since the Google term is PageRank, and refers to individual web pages, not complete web sites. And rightly so, because if a website thought that your content would be useful to their readers then they would provide them with a link to your relevant web page.

Now, however, links are artificially generated, sometimes software generated, and are effectively useless since, although they appear on a website, they do so from a so-called 'links' page that is full of nothing but masses of links. Now, the very websites that links and good keyword density were meant to shove off the web are now appearing back at the top of the listings. No content but masses of links. Google know this, and will likely take some action against it.

Internal linking is a separate subject, and one on which I specialize. The arrangement of your web pages, and design of your internal linking, are critical to achieving good listings on search engines. Not only your internal linking strategy, but also the design of each individual page. There are certain sites that will not get into the top 10 without radical changes, and I have one or two of them due to the content that I want on each site and the function that I want them to serve. Eventually they will as I increase the number of pages, but for the meantime I am not too bothered. I get plenty of traffic anyway.

So that got me to thinking again. Why should I bother much with SEO if all I need do is to design my website logically and make sure that my internal links provide the best possible service to my visitors, without confusing them with dozens of options on each page?

Why should I bother with all these artificial links if I can get good links and lots of traffic through article marketing? And then I realized that I had no need of the links purely as an external SEO tool; ie to provide me with better Google PageRank, because I was getting plenty of traffic anyway through people clicking on my links in my articles, or resource boxes.

So I decided not to! I am now going to run a few campaigns with no SEO at all other than the obvious ways of providing my visitors with a good service when they visit my website. Then I will find the truth about the matter. What is SEO: myth or reality?

You achieve this initially by writing articles containing useful content, relevant to the topic of your site, and then submitting them to article directories. If your writing is sufficiently compelling, readers will want to know more about what you have written, and will click on the link you provide to your website.

Article submission does two things. Firstly it provides you with the opportunity to persuade the reader to find out more from your website, as inferred above, and it also provides you with a one way link back from the article directory. The higher the page ranking of the directory, then the more credit the search engines will give you for the link. Engines such as Google take your link popularity as a significant factor when calculating where your webpage should be listed in the index for the specific keyword your page relates to.

    Your Article Must have Merit

However, it does not stop there. Should the visitor consider that your article is of sufficient merit to warrant them using it as content on their own website, they are entitled to copy it so long as they include your name as author, and your author's resource box, complete with webpage URL. You then get a one way link back from all the sites that use your article, and also visitors that click on your link from these sites.

That's the theory, but how about the practice? In fact it is slightly more difficult that that. The article has to be well enough written to be accepted by the directories first, though from what I have seen that is not too difficult. Some directories are quite liberal as to what they call 'writing'. It is not the directories that are the problem, it is the readers. People have a certain standard that they expect of internet writing, and if they feel that it is not met then they will click away from the article.

Don't Try to Fool the Reader

The article must also be of interest and relevant to the theme. You don't get people clicking to visit your website unless they find your content of interest and feel that your website could be of potential use to them. So write about what you know, and don't try to fool anybody. Many people who access your article will know more that you about the topic, and will spot any inaccuracies immediately. Be accurate and try to provide information that will help them. Visitors to your website want to be helped, have a question answered or a problem solved.

Your resource box is also important. Don't say too much about yourself: readers are not interested in your life history. Just tell them that they can find out more on your website. Provide them with a link a page in your site that deals exactly with what you wrote about and preferably with the same title, so that when they get there they will start reading.

    Use Anchor Text where Possible

If you provide a link to a page within your site, rather than just the home page, it is regarded as of being more important to a search engine, especially if that link is provided by means of anchor text. That is text that indicates the topic of your web page, rather than being just a URL. You can do this if html is allowed. If you don't know how to use html, just write something to the effect "more information on this topic can be found on my web page This Topic.

Write that exactly, inserting your own website and page URL, and your resource box will have 'This Topic' as a clickable link. The search engines will associate your web page as being connected to This Topic, and that will improve the listing of that page.

Article marketing is a powerful way of using articles to promote your website, increase your traffic, and improve your search engine listings. Do it well, and you will see a significant difference in traffic to your site.

Flexibility is the range of movement that you have in your joints. Some say that this definition should only apply if there is no exterior help to move the joint, but this is not correct. If your joints have a greater degree of movement when aided by an external force, then that degree of movement defines the flexibility.

Hence, if you strengthen you muscles, and these act as the external force, then the flexibility of your joints will allow a greater range of movement than were your muscles unable to exert that degree of force.

To put it simply, if you have a great degree of flexibility in your joints, then the stronger you are, the more you will be able to put that flexibility to use in the range of movement you have at your disposal. It goes without saying that the more flexibility you have in a martial art the better.

However, people do not have the same range of flexibility throughout their bodies. Even more specifically, flexibility in one range or direction of motion at a specific joint does not imply flexibility in another. Hence that fact that you have complete ability to complete perfect front splits does not infer that you have the same control over side splits, even though it is the same hip joint that is involved. The two are not connected. A suitable flexibility exercise program, therefore, should be designed to provide good flexibility in all joints in all directions of movement, relevant to the martial art studied.

Flexibility training should be carried out in conjunction with strength training in order that the range of flexibility achieved can be used to its full potential by the muscles that move the bones in the joints. There is no truth in the belief that you must trade flexibility and strength. Supreme strength simply means supreme use of the flexibility gained through training.

However there is more than this in a martial art. Tension and relaxation are of supreme importance. Tension is equated with power and strength while relaxation is equated with speed and flexibility. Russian Cossacks used to train with their sabres by standing waist deep in water and slicing into the water with their blades. As they became weary they would learn to relax on the downstroke and tense and use their power on at the moment of strike.

The results were incredible and awesome. A Cossack could slice a man from shoulder down to saddle with one strike with only a light sabre. All due to using relaxation and power at the correct times. This can be simulated by using a large rubber eraser. About three inches by an inch square is about right. Hold it in the fist and explosively compress it. Do this using your core power. Compress hard with maximum explosion, just as if you were punching. Then relax just as quickly. Repeat this during the day – explosive compression and quick relaxation. Eventually you be able to carry out this rapid-fire tight-loose-tight sequence without thought.

This is a relaxation technique, but cannot replace the experience of the fight since fear of being hit cannot help tighten you up. However, if you do this for a few hours every day (easier than you think since the eraser can be carried in your pocket) you will find that you can relax your fist until the moment of the strike when you require maximum power.

Whether in boxing or karate, this will improve your performance and strength. Combine this with your flexibility training and you will be on the first rung of achieving greatness in karate or any other explosive martial art. Russian training methods help you to develop this total control over relaxation and explosive power in the use of your strength and flexibility.

Article Title: Taking A Gap Year For Travel

For both students and people in work, the option for taking a gap year is proving to be a very popular life choice. Making the decision to take a gap year and following it through can be difficult to achieve. For a student taking a gap year before or after taking a university degree, a gap year can have a huge positive effect in terms of boosting confidence, increasing maturity, developing social skills, gaining experience and knowledge of different cultures, helping the environment and feeling independent by taking the opportunity of working in a different country.

In recent years, grown up gap years and family gap years have gained in popularity. For adults who are in middle age or older, taking a gap year can be the ideal way to gain new experiences and enjoy life. Many are financially self sufficient but obtaining good travel insurance may be more difficult for people over 64 or 65. For families wishing to take a gap year for travelling, the planning and finance involved can be huge depending on the work situation, number of children and their ages, mortgage commitments, arranging a house sitter and having enough funds for the entire journey.

For a student or individual with no financial or family commitments, a gap year can seem like the perfect way to experience life before joining or returning to the world of work. However, like many things in life, there are major hurdles to overcome. Firstly there is the question of financing the gap year. If a person is lucky enough to have funds available or will be working during their gap year, this poses very few problems. For many people who are hoping to travel during their gap year, it may mean taking a temporary job or asking parents to help out financially. With student debts at an all time high, gaining the necessary funds can prove to be very difficult and delays may be inevitable.

The second hurdle to overcome is the fear and excitement of travelling to the far corners of the world and surviving to tell the tale especially for those travelling solo for the first time. Parents, friends and family will also be very worried with stories of crime, natural disasters, unstable governments and disease ridden areas making the news on a daily basis. In the vast majority of cases, most countries are just as safe as your home country. With the wealth of information available on the internet and through travel guides, there is no excuse not to plan a trip beforehand in order to make the most of it and to avoid unnecessary risks and dangers. Many countries in Europe, Asia, Africa and South America have well laid out backpacker routes which are used by thousands of men and women travelling in groups or on their own. The vast majority have amazing experiences and return home safely. You will be hard pressed to find an individual who has taken a gap year and regretted the decision. Popular countries for gap year travellers include Australia, Thailand (especially the islands of Thailand), India, New Zealand, South Africa, Cambodia, Vietnam, Brazil, Peru and Indonesia.

For some, travelling solo may pose a major problem if they have never tried it before. They may be worried about feeling lonely and unable to cope with situations by themselves in a strange country far from home. Fortunately there are thousands of people in exactly the same situation and travelling solo is the ideal way to meet people and build confidence. People often meet in hostels, bars, trains, airports and the list goes on. It is much easier to meet people while travelling than it is in your home country and in most cases, people will only be alone if they choose to be. Also the ability to cope with new situations will improve over a short period of time as you gain confidence through each experience. After a while, you will be booking accommodation on the internet, travelling long distances and communicating with people in a different language without a second thought.

The options for people taking a gap year are huge and include travel, volunteer work, contract work, seasonal jobs, adventure travel, teaching English and much more. A gap year can be a once in a life time experience and as long as you plan well and use your common sense, it can be year that will change your life for the better.

    *********************** ARTICLE START ***********************

With the explosion in digital photography over recent years, many people are confused about which digital camera to purchase. There are many digital cameras on the market ranging from 8 megapixels to a staggering 24 megapixels in one of the latest Sony NEX compact system cameras. So how do you cut through the jargon and the multitude of models available to find the camera that is right for you. Firstly you have to decide how the camera will be used. If you are a complete beginner and you just want a fully automatic digital camera for taking pictures of the family and social events, many of the 10 or 12 megapixel cameras around the $150 to $200 price bracket will fulfill your needs. These cameras normally come with a 3 or 4 times zoom lens which will allow you to take group shots at the wide setting and individual shots at the telephoto setting. In addition many of these cameras will have scene modes for various situations such as taking pictures on the beach, at sunset, close ups, portraits and much more.

Nearly every camera these days comes with a built in flash which can normally be turned off for more moody shots in available light. All the big manufacturers make these cameras and I would recommend purchasing a camera from one of the big names such as Canon, Sony, Nikon, Olympus, Fujifilm, Kodak, Panasonic and Pentax. It is always advisable to draw up a shortlist of cameras and then try them out at a local camera store to test the camera's response times, the quality of it's LCD and overall general feel of the camera in terms of size and functionality. For anyone requiring a camera to be used frequently in low light without flash, Fujifilm cameras with their 6 or 8 megapixel super CCD will be the best option.

For beginners who may be interested in developing their digital photography skills, a digital camera or compact system camera with interchangeable lenses with various manual control options in addition to program modes will be the best option. This will allow the user to experiment with various manual settings as a way of learning digital photography as well as being able to produce more creative shots than in program mode. Various manual exposure settings are available on some digital cameras including shutter priority, aperture priority and full manual whereby the user sets both the aperture and shutter speed. For high quality cameras at a low price, the Canon Powershot series of cameras offer full manual controls as well as a 4 times zoom lens on most models. In terms of pixels, 8 to 10 megaixels will be more than enough to produce good quality A4 prints right upto A3 and beyond.

For beginners requiring a digital camera for travel, nature photography and general all round use, a camera with a large zoom lens and image stabilization will offer the most versatility. Panasonic, Fujifilm, Canon, Sony and Olympus all make excellent cameras with large zoom lenses that often cover the 35mm equivalent range of 28mm to 400mm. Some cameras come with full manual controls and a hotshoe for external flash which adds to the versatility of the camera.

To conclude, there is huge range of digital cameras on the market today covering the needs of beginners right up to professionals. The vast majority of cameras offer very similar features such as a 3 times zoom lens, 8 to 12 megapixels, built in flash, a 2.5" LCD, various scene modes and a small compact body. For the beginner, it is best to try out various cameras at a camera store until you are happy with the quality, responsiveness and feel of the camera. For users requiring more advanced features such as manual controls and long zoom lenses, the choice is more limited but there are still many models to choose from. In the final analysis, do not waste too much time looking for a digital camera. Once you have found a camera which meets your requirements, move on and start enjoying digital photography as it is the photographer who creates great photographs and not the camera.

The islands of Thailand are world renowned for their stunning scenery and pristine beaches. Millions of tourists travel to Thailand every year and many foreigners have settled down permanently after falling for the charms of this island paradise. The major islands of Thailand such as Phuket and Koh Samui have only become major tourist destinations over recent years but the rapid development in buildings and infrastructure, coupled with a huge rise in tourist numbers, provides major challenges to this fragile ecosystem.

Thailand is easily accessible by air and sea with Bangkok serving as a major hub for flights within south east Asia and beyond. Visitors from a variety of countries are offered a thirty day visa after arriving at the airport but this can vary depending on your country of origin. For longer visits, tourist visas for two months can be obtained within certain countries and therefore it is essential to check visa requirements before planning your trip to Thailand.

Travelling within Thailand is made much easier through the country's excellent transport facilities ranging from overnight trains and air conditioned coaches to short flights between Bangkok and main islands and resorts. Overall costs of hotel rooms, food and entertainment are lower than in western countries but costs have risen steeply in popular destinations such as parts of Phuket, Koh Phi Phi and Koh Samui.

With hundreds of islands on offer, there is something for everyone including backpackers, divers, families, singles, couples, groups and gap year students. To the west of Thailand in the Andaman sea lies Phuket which is the largest island in Thailand. Phuket has an international airport as well as great hotels, restaurants and beaches. The island is very popular with families and people of all ages as well as serving as a base for exploring Koh Phi Phi and the Similan islands which is a popular destination for divers. No trip would be complete without a trip to stunning Koh Phi Phi and Maya Bay which was the setting for the film 'The Beach' starring Leonardo Di Caprio.

For visitors looking for a quiet holiday, Koh Lanta offers a less developed island with pleasant beaches and no crowds. For island hoppers, Krabi province offers the ideal destination with many small islands near one another and various activities on offer including snorkelling and scuba diving.

On the east coast of Thailand in the Gulf of Thailand lies Koh Samui which has been transformed from a backpackers paradise to an island catering more for mainstream tourists and families. Koh Samui also has an international airport and is only just over one hour's flight from Bangkok. The main beach resorts at Chaweng and Lamai are very popular with most the islands nightlife taking place at Chaweng.

Just a short boat trip from Ko Samui lies the world famous full moon party island of Koh Phangan which is smaller in size and less developed than Koh Samui. Accommodation is dominated by budget hotels and bungalows and the island is very popular with a younger crowd looking for parties and paradise on a lower budget. The island of Koh Tao also lies near Koh Samui and has become very popular in recent years as a major centre for diving as well as for travellers.

The above is just a small taste of what Thailand has to offer and for many visitors, the islands offer a truly magical and wonderful experience unmatched by any other part of the world.

For many photographers familiar with digital compact cameras, the move to a digital slr camera system can appear daunting and overwhelming. The range of digital SLR cameras, lenses, flashguns and accessories is vast and growing rapidly each year. In addition, new rival mirror less cameras such as the Panasonic G series, Sony NEX cameras and Olympus Pen cameras have entered the market. These mirror less cameras compete directly with digital SLR cameras for beginners produced by the various camera manufacturers such as Nikon and Olympus as they use the same size sensors but they have the advantage of smaller body size and smaller lenses.

Before deciding on which digital SLR or mirror less camera system to choose from, it's always a good idea to write down how the camera will be used. For instance, will the digital SLR be used for travel photography or shots of the family. Maybe the photographer is more interested in nature photography or is branching out into studio photography. By working out how the camera will be used, key priority features will emerge which will reduce the list of cameras to choose from. Key features could include a large viewfinder, tilt/swivel LCD, small and light body for travel, weather proof body, number of frames per second for fast shooting sports photography and video recording for the best of both worlds.

For a beginner in photography looking for an all purpose camera, any system will do from the main digital SLR camera manufacturers including Nikon, Canon, Olympus, Pentax and Sony. A standard digital SLR with 10 or 12 megapixels coupled with a wide angle zoom ranging from 18mm to 55mm and a telephoto zoom ranging from 55mm to 200mm will cover the vast range of subjects from landscapes to sport. In addition, two other essential items for the beginner include an external flashgun and a tripod. A flashgun with a tilt and swivel head which can clip onto the hotshoe of the camera or used wirelessly from a distance for soft lighting can help produce more professional results. A tripod or clamp can produce the sharpest and most professional quality images as camera shake is minimised or eliminated. A tripod is a handy accessory for low light photography, high dynamic range photography and panoramic shots.

Most modern digital SLR cameras are built to a high standard and are capable of providing high level results. To discover any negative issues with a camera such as a small viewfinder or a soft lens, it is always worthwhile to read some of the many reviews found on the internet or in photographic magazines. The final stage is to actually handle the camera and lens in a photography shop to see if it meets your needs in terms of being functional and capable of producing high quality images. As digital SLR cameras are constantly changing, it is difficult to recommend cameras for the beginner but there are various photographic websites on the internet which constantly produce updated lists of the best cameras on the market for beginners.

Don't be like Al Gore. Certainly the man has some endearing qualities. He's charismatic, a strong speaker, and a knowledgeable man who has no problem sharing his intellect with the world. But have you seen his office? Go ahead. Google Al Gore, and you will see one of the scariest pictures you've ever witnessed on the internet. There Al sits, in the middle of his office, staring at the three computer screens panned across one side of his corner desk. But then again, maybe that's not a desk. It's hard to tell with the papers stacked up to Mr. Gore's earlobes. Ironically, we can all relate. We've all seen offices juts like this, and many of them have a single-word label for them: ours.

If any office needs organizing, it's the home office. Al Gore most likely has paid staff to keep him on track, and thus he can live with a disorganized office. But the typical home business owner does not have that option. He has no line item for "administrative assistant," and rarely does his wife count as a staff member. She doesn't want to deal with his mess either. Disorganized and messy offices reflect the mind of the individual working in them, and they represent the lack of discipline and poor business management of that individual as a whole. So how can we remedy the problem.

Home office organization begins with a three-decision process. The home business owner must start by taking everything out of the office, even the cricket that's been chirping behind the copy machine for the past three years. Once he has everything out of the office, the home business owner should make a decision on every item in the business. It's time to make piles. He should create a throw pile, a give away/sell pile, and a keep pile. At this point the home business owner may well need help from his unpaid administrative assistant, also known as his wife. She will help him make wise decisions. No, he does not need to keep the empty beer bottle that he and his buddy bought to celebrate their first dollar earned. Yes, he needs to keep the receipts for his most recent computer purchase.

Finally, the home business owner must invest in some quality home organization tools. This may include shelves, a set of filing cabinets, and a general organizer. The administrative assistant can help with the organizing of the random materials leftover after the office culling. The organization system should pass a two-prong test, however. It must make sense to the one who runs the business, and it must make sense in general, meaning that if anyone needed to find a file, should the business owner reach an untimely demise, then those who love him most should be able to find what they need to either continue business or close accounts and shut the business down properly.

We can learn a great deal from Al Gore. Greenhouse gases are bad. They destroy the environment. We need to do something to improve our carbon footprint. And if we can't afford a paid administrative assistant for our home business, we need to keep our offices in order and not be like Al Gore.

Vocation location matters less and less in our day and age of technology. A person living in Alaska can work for a company in Florida. A man in China can do work for a corporation in Los Angeles. All of this occurs, thanks to the information super-highway that few have dared to travel on. Even those living in the backwoods of America are learning how to not just use the internet, but how to make a profit based on their personal location and the vast marketing world available online. They have grabbed a hold of a home business opportunity online through good, old-fashioned auctions.

Auctions have existed for centuries. Those living in rural America engage in them frequently. When a neighbor dies or retires, an auction is eminent, and everyone in the neighborhood shows up for a good deal. Many small-town communities are discovering that the peach crate at neighbor Joe's sale which sells for $2 will earn them up to $90 through online auctions where the market of buyers is much larger and the connoisseurs more educated on vintage Americana. As a result of estate auctions in the sticks of America, a home business opportunity online has been born: re-selling auction goods.

Those who participate in estate auctions, whether they plan on re-selling or are just looking for a good, used washing machine, know how to scope out a great auction. They examine the bills of sale in the newspaper weeks before the auctions. They also look for key factors. For example, an elderly couple with no children will most likely have some dandy finds in great condition. Auctions that take place in the middle of a workday will often bring fewer buyers and thus greater buys than a Saturday, noon auction.

To make the most of their home business opportunity online and to make sure they do not miss a great deal, the buyer will also research the items on the bill of sale. Many have antique books that tell them the approximate value of the items they desire. Thus, when they attend the auction, they will know exactly how high to go and when to stop bidding. Great bidders keep an odd number in mind, such as $22.50 instead of a round number like $20. This way they will know exactly when to stop bidding, if they have the discipline to stop.

Once these buyers have their items bought and paid for, they move into the online auction world. They will carefully photograph and list their item at a reputable online auction site, and then they will place a respectable reserve on the item, to ensure that it does not go below the price they paid initially.

For many people, this home business opportunity online has become just as much of a game as a home business. They love the auctioning process, both virtually and realistically. Estate auctions provide a social outlet, a way to enjoy the company of the neighborhood. At the same time, it has provided vast opportunities for those who live in rural America to make an extra buck while enjoying their quiet, scenic lives.

Millions of workers every day for a variety of reasons curse their bosses. Maybe they have the overly demanding boss who requires more than they can handle in a day. They possibly may have the "I'm going fishing" boss who leaves them with his work while he indeed goes fishing. They may even have the "everyday is a bad day" boss that takes his personal problems out on his employees. What many of these workers do not realize is that their best boss looks them in the eye every morning when they brush their teeth in front of the bathroom mirror. Self-employment, while scary, provides the kind of boss that everyone would want. He knows his employees needs, and he's willing to work hard to meet them. Thus we cannot ignore the plethora of small home business opportunities available to the average, hard-working individual today.

Opportunities abound in the small home business world. Many times finding such an opportunity requires just a little bit of research and a keen eye. Many of those who have succeeded in the small home business arena saw the needs of those around them and then created a business which helped fill those needs. Some create their small home business from scratch, from the business name to the product they sold. They started it all from the ground up. Others find a small home business opportunity which already exists, and they grab a hold of it before others saturate their local market. Businesses such as Tupperware, Mary Kay, and even Pampered Chef, household names for decades, have given many a person a start at their own small home business. In all of these cases, however, the successful home business operator saw a need that he or she could fulfill. That person took the necessary steps to starting his or her own business, and then simply worked hard to make the business work.

Those seeking a small business opportunity should not jump into just any opportunity that presents itself. They should consider the business itself as well as the bottom line of what they will make from the business. A small home business will never succeed if the person running it does not believe in his product. So the one who is seeking this opportunity should not just take it while it presents itself, but he should take some time to seek wise counsel. Those who know him best will give him the best advice. Wise counsel does not include the one who may be trying to convince that individual to buy into a small business. Instead, this would consist of his closest friends and family members, along with successful people he may know.

Finally, the average employee should consider if he needs to further his education in the process of beginning a small home business. The average Joe may have decent business instincts, but classes on how to run a small business will help him succeed even more. Consider specific classes instead of just obtaining a business degree. The degree will only help a person if he plans on seeking employment with a larger company. If he is simply seeking to start his own small home business, then he should take courses specific to his business.

Dissatisfied employees should not have to bow down to the boss that many refer to as "the man." They do not have to stay chained to the desk at an office that they hate. Instead with some inquiry, wisdom, and old-fashioned hard work, he can be his own boss by beginning his own small home business.

Home party businesses have existed for decades. Stanley Home products, for example, began with door-to-door salesmen in the 1940s. By the 1950s this business had moved to away from front doors and took a seat on living room couches, surrounded homemade punch and cake along with a lovely hostess. While women have moved out of the home and into the corporate world since the inception of the home party business, this genre of work is still booming. Those who find success in the home party business have found a few simple methods that help them boost their home business party sales.

Attitude matters. Home business owners must learn to not just sell their product but to sell themselves. This means they should prove the product's usefulness with their own use of the product. Imagine a Mary Kay agent who uses Cover Girl products. It just would not make sense, and it says little about the product. Those who are willing to invest their time into selling a product via a home party understand that they are selling more than the product. Their own testimony matters.

Consumer care matters. Successful business partners of the home party business will look at their customers as more than a meal ticket. They learn to engage in friendly conversation at the part and learn about their clients needs. They also learn to gear their presentations and recommendations to the client's specific needs. Are the clients young moms? Empty nesters? Retired grandparents? A great salesman will be able to boost her home business party sales by presenting the best product for her potential clients' needs.

Caring about the client also means spending some time on paper work after the party. Great home party business entrepreneurs know the importance of follow up. They send out notes inquiring about the customer's needs and even thank you notes for the customer's purchase. They take the time after hostess has wiped the last crumb to remember what made the home party successful in the first place: willing customers.

Finally, a successful home party business person will maintain rapport with her clients and hostess by paying attention to them outside of the party environment. Great business people understand the importance of a kind word when bumping into a potential client at the grocery store. Even if the individual did not place an order, the successful entrepreneur will express a warm attitude towards that person and call him or her by name. Who knows? This may even lead to an eventual sale.

Home party sales have existed for decades. Great sales people understand what they must do to successful boost their home business party sales. By following these few, simple tips, they experience success which not only keeps them in business but allows for a hefty commission at the end of each party.

Home party business opportunities have existed for decades, beginning with the all too popular Tupperware party. Everyone's grandmother or at least mother has attended such a party, where the host invites her friends and family for an evening of fun. She greets them at the door and leads them to a living room with wall-to-wall folding chairs for the myriad of guests she has invited. Then a neatly dressed woman stands in front of the group, explaining various pieces of pastel colored plastic containers as women ooh and ahh over the wonderful guests of honor. The party ends with some sort of bar or cake and coffee or punch and a discreet area where the guests/customers can place their orders.

Since the inception of Tupperware parties, the home party business era has exploded. Women have parties to sell clothing, quick-food items, cooking utensils, and even cleaning products. Nothing is sacred from the home party, and in actuality, it takes very little to completely screw up a great party. A home party business woman or man must only make a few small faux pas to lead his customers scratching their heads.

Throwing the worst home party ever begins with the cold shoulder. When the door bell rings, the horrible host will open it, say hello, and then leave the guests standing at the door. She will not offer to take their coats but will instead just hurry them into the sitting area so they can hear the business owner's pitch.

The presentation of a horrible party is a touchy element. The horrible business woman will push only her most expensive product. She will briefly mention the cheaper items as a sort of starter, but her emphasis will stay on how the customers can utilize her higher end products.

She will also do well as a terrible business person by reminding her customers and her host's guests of their obligation to the host. She might mention how badly the host needs the free products that their purchases will result in. Then she will once again go back to re-explaining their need for her most expensive product. If all else fails, she will shame them into purchasing the product by mentioning her own need for financial assistance and possibly some of her most recent failures of parties.

Finally, the horrible business owner will set her ordering area up in an area where everyone can see what is occurring. Then she will call on the customers one at a time by name, demanding that they come to her so she can take their order.

We can all learn from our mistakes, and examining what makes a horrible party may well lead us to conclude what makes a great home party business opportunity. If we want to experience success, we will certainly seek a way to avoid the same critical mistakes that the horrible host and business woman commit.

Home-based business opportunities abound. Just a quick "google" on the internet will lead to millions of opportunities, some legitimate for the want-to-be professional and others just scams for the naïve and ignorant. How can the average Joe know when a business opportunity is indeed a serious, home-based business opportunity? After all, nothing would hurt a person worse financially than if he or she quit his or her current job only to become the victim to a scam for a home-based business opportunity.

The service which a business provides will clue the wary business opportunist as to whether or not the business is a serious, home-based business opportunity. Important work will affect more than just one person, and the task itself will be one that others can verify. Additionally, a serious, home-based business opportunity will often include work where vast sums of money are often at stake because of the nature of the business. The business will provide legitimate services for real clients. The wary business seeker should research the company before he or she commits to them. They can consult the better business bureau to see if any negative reports exist regarding this company. They can also do some basic research using the Internet. These two tools should give the opportunist the information he or she may need to continue on with this decision.

Furthermore, the compensation for work with a serious, home-based business opportunity will reflect its seriousness. A serious opportunity will demand serious payment. Jobs which offer only a few dollars for what may take hours to complete are not worth a person's time. Instead, a person should find just compensation in his newfound job based on his expertise.

Compensation isn't the only elevated element of a serious, home-based business opportunity. The demands are also elevated. Obviously a person cannot expect to receive a fat paycheck for doing little. Thus most serious, home-based business opportunities will require not just some time but a rigid schedule of work from their owners and employees. They may require the home-based worker to be in his office at specific times of the day instead of just working around a flexible schedule.

Serious, home-based business opportunities abound, but the seeker must exercise caution and prudence, because bogus opportunities often masquerade as serious ones. The best way to learn about a serious business opportunity requires employment oftentimes before ownership. By working for a serious, home-based business, a person can learn the tricks of the trade and the signs for a serious opportunity. He or she will know what works and what does not based on his or her experience with the said company. Then, at the perfect time, those who have worked so diligently for others from home can strike out on their own into the jungle of business ownership and thus create their own home-based business.

For centuries writers have been scrawling their thoughts on the backs of envelopes, napkins, and whatever scraps of paper they can find. Many find the medium of paper and pencil more inspiring, despite the fact that we have technical gizmos that don't even require us to literally write any more. Some just need a voice, and they type for you. Regardless, these technical gizmos along with technology in general have allowed writers to produce work much faster than before. As a result, many are not just freelance writers, but they have taken their craft to a whole new level with a small business opportunity idea: writing companies. Those who have successfully begun a writing company begin with only a few tools: a style manual, an internet connection, time, and a market guide.

All writers must have a style manual. The novices will shun them, but the purists understand that without the style manual, they will fail. A great style manual will tell the writer the most up to date changes in punctuation and grammar, so that when he or she submits a written document, an editor will not automatically reject it for poor punctuation. Furthermore, if writers can familiarize themselves with proper punctuation and grammar according to the most recent style manual, they can consult others on writing projects. They can literally bid for projects and produce a quality product technically speaking.

Secondly, writers need an internet connection. Again, a few old-school writers may shun this idea, but an internet connection allows for a variety of things that will make this small business opportunity idea a reality. This connection allows the writer to contact his or her clients much more quickly than just about any other method. Furthermore, an e-mail is less intrusive than a phone call. Clients can respond at will instead of find themselves interrupted in their work with a phone call. The internet connection allows the writer to bid for projects much easier and see those projects through freelance websites.

Third, the writer needs time. Many springboard this small business opportunity idea into reality by using their evenings efficiently. They will make the most of the small minutes in their day by building a company one project at a time. Eventually, their little projects turn into their real job, and they find themselves writing the most satisfying document thus far: a letter of resignation.

Finally, the writer hoping to freelance for money will need a market guide. He or she should always purchase the most up to date market guide. New ones come out annually. The market guide to a writer is like a Bible to a preacher: he needs it to work. A good market guide will have a fee schedule so that a writer knows how much to charge a client for whatever work he is bidding on. It also has tips on how to get published and how to write well.

Writing is more than an art; it's a science. It requires time, discipline, and desire, but those who love to write and understand the vast possibilities of our online world now, can take this small business opportunity idea and run with it. The world is wide upon for someone who knows the right way to write.

We all aspire to greatness in this world. Whether we are scientists seeking to become the next Einstein or entrepreneurs aspiring to Trump-like greatness, everyone who works for more than just the basic paycheck has dreams of greatness. However, even before Trump became "the Donald," he had to begin small. So must we all. The small, home-based business opportunity defines itself as small but chock full of potential with a few determiners.

First, the small, home-based serves local clientele. These small business usually begin by serving neighbors and friends. Home-based businesses have the advantage of a comfortable, friendly feel and thus appeal to the guy next door. However, once the small business owner has established a successful reputation among his local clientele, he begins to branch out. He seeks other opportunities by using one of the greatest marketing and networking tools invented: the Internet. He thus begins with local clientele, but the small, home-based business opportunity then blossoms into more than just a small business.

Typically the small, home-based business is just one business. It is not defined as being a part of a chain. Instead it is local and personal. The owner deals with the customers himself, knowing and calling them by name. He strives to give the business that sort of "mom and pop" feel because it indeed is a small, home-based business. He takes advantage of his smallness by making the business personal, unlike many chain or incorporated businesses.

Additionally, while the business starts out small, a small, home-based business opportunity has vast potential for growth. As stated earlier, thanks to the greatest networking tool ever invented, the small, home-based business owner no long has to stay small. He can invest in a high-speed connection and some hardware, and without ever paying mortgage on an office building, he has created a much larger business. The sky is the limit for small, home-based business opportunities.

Finally, the small, home-based business opportunity typically has a grassroots beginning. The ideas begin around a kitchen table and are hashed out over a cup of coffee. The entrepreneurs are not necessarily power people in Armani suits but instead dads and moms in jeans and sweatshirts. These small, home-based business owners understand their clientele. They know the average Joe because they are the average Joe, and they thus understand the needs of normal people and how to meet those needs.

Overall, the small, home-based business opportunity has a pleasant feel to it. They begin with grassroots, serve local clientele, and evoke a feeling that the smell of Grandma's cookie's stimulates. Maybe that's why so many people seek them. They begin with great ideas and hope, and in the end, who knows, another Donald Trump of the home-based business may be born.

Throughout most individuals' lives, great home business opportunity has always begun at home. Many times it began with a brainstorm at the dinner table. "Mom, I'm bored," one child might whine. Dad might pipe up with a quick response: "Do something with your time. Why don't you try to make a little money. Go make some lemonade." Thus a great business idea begins.

Childhood breeds a cacophony of home business opportunity. Though the chance might begin with a lemonade stand, soon children move unto bigger ventures like pet sitting, lawn mowing, and leaf raking. Young entrepreneurs will consider the needs of a parent and "volunteer" for small compensation. As children, people can easily learn the relationship between a job and money. Performing a job well results in the desired cash.

As childhood blossoms into adolescence, the said individuals learn all kinds of new lessons. Their business ventures branch out as their own abilities and freedoms grow. They begin their own versions of daycare, caring for children either at their own home or at the child's home. Thus they create another home business opportunity. They might volunteer to wash the neighbor's car in their driveway or even consider what services they can offer neighbors. With a little pavement pounding and a great product, like those lovely fundraiser goodies all teenagers must sell for whatever clubs they belong to, said teenagers learn the value of marketing.

Today collegians take advantage of their own version of the home business opportunity, or for them, dorm business opportunity. Some engage in illegal activities such as betting pools on things like the NCAA tournament. Others will charge for their legitimate tutoring services. In either of these cases we can see the common thread: the business man or woman saw a need and found a way to make a dollar while meeting it.

We would all like to think that these little business ventures were just childhood play, but in actuality, they were the training ground for taking a hold of a great home business opportunity. Consider the lessons that said children and teenagers learn from their experiences. They gained marketing experience, by learning how to color their product and how to present themselves when attempting to sell it to another individual. They learned ingenuity by considering the needs of those around them and seeking a way to meet them for modest compensation. They learned the value of hard work as they often saw their piggy banks fullness correlate with the amount of effort they put into their home business opportunity.

Thus as we consider home business opportunities, be they peddling Avon products or beginning an eBay business, we should consider the valuable lessons that we gained from our childhood business experiences. When we do this, every drop of sweat spent both contriving and selling an idea before and during puberty will be well worth it.

We all know that great businesses come from the minds of big thinkers. A thinker first sees a need, and then he contrives a way to meet it, and then he thinks big. He considers how he can meet that need not just for his neighbor across the street, but for his neighbor across the country. Now thanks to home computers, creativity also can sprout a home business computer opportunity. More than ever businesses need creative individuals willing to produce the necessary desktop publishing materials for them such as calendars, newsletters, and brochures. Just about anyone with a creative bone and a bent towards technology can fulfill this type of job.

Jobs exist just in the desktop publishing field, and many times, those who have attended college specifically in the field of graphic design take these jobs. However, just about anyone can market his or her skills if he or she takes a few courses and reads up on graphic design.

After receiving the appropriate training, those interested in this home business computer opportunity need to have a computer. A basic computer will suffice initially, but those who plan on truly expanding their business and putting out some quality work will want a computer geared towards graphic design with enough RAM to hold the programs they will purchase.

Secondly, the one seeking this incredible home business computer opportunity will want to consider the variety of graphic design programs available. While we can certainly use the basic programs that a computer comes with, specific programs will help that person utilize his or her creativity the most efficiently. Usually the desktop publishing programs that come with a computer have basic limitations and do not allow the user to truly express his or her creative side. Programs like Flash and Adobe Pagemaker will give more latitude to the creative genius.

Finally, this home business computer opportunity needs appropriate marketing. A desktop publisher can best market his or her skills by first having a spectacular website. This website showcases the publisher's style and creativity. It should act as a muse for the artist as well as a contact point for the business. Explore other desktop publisher's websites to see what they have designed and how yours differs or compares. The website should also contain appropriate fees so a business will know up front how much they can expect to spend on a given project.

Overall, the world of art is changing thanks to the internet and technology. No longer are we referring to a pencil and a piece of paper, but rather an entire rainbow of colors available thanks to pixels and screens. The artist now has a stronger voice than ever, and he can make money expressing it with a great home business computer opportunity.

Do you hate your job? Do you wake up every Monday sick to your stomach because you have to begin another week spending the majority of your time with people you do not like doing a task that you despise? You are not alone. The majority of people in our world look at their jobs simply as a means to an end: a way to pay the bills. More brave souls are doing what they have dreamed of for years: they are quitting their jobs, thumbing their noses up at the corporate world, and starting out on their own. They are becoming their own bosses. Unfortunately, the majority of them bask in their freedom to a point that kills their newfound independence, and essentially, they screw up the perfect job. Doing so takes very little effort.

First and foremost, those who move from the once employed to the self-employed field believe they have moved from the corporate world to retirement. They roll around in their newfound freedom like a 65-year-old who just left his retirement party. They sleep in, hang around the house in their pajamas until noon, and then start work around 1 pm. The same disciplines which make an employee successful will make an employer successful. Even self-employed individuals must maintain a schedule with their home based business work. Doing so will discipline them to complete the necessary tasks for the day and ultimately earn that dollar they so badly need.

Secondly, the freedom-inebriated worker forgets the need to work even when he does not feel like working. Typically a newly self-employed individual has sought his current home based business work because of burnout at his former job. He wants the freedom to do what he wants when he wants instead of bowing down to a boss. In every job a worker must bow down to something. The self-employed worker bows down to the pressure of turning a profit. When a person only works when he wants to, he may find himself a dollar short of turning on the electricity at the end of the month. Essentially, he is firing himself from his dream.

Maintaining a schedule not only prevents the under-ambitious from failing, but it prevents the over-ambitious from burnout. Successful owners of a home based business work know indeed how to work hard. Sometimes they neglect other obligations such as family and friends. Ultimately, they find themselves wrapped up in only one world: their job. Within a short amount of time, this individual has buried his own dreams with his inability to stop and enjoy the life which he is working so hard to create. Thus a schedule will help him maintain a balance.

Home based business work fails when clients cannot find a business owner. Those who do not maintain regular office hours will lose clients, and their business will fail. Instead, the self-employed individual working from home must not just post regular business hours, but he must maintain them so that his clients know when they can contact him.

There's nothing worse than the death of a dream, especially when the dreamer kills his own dream. Essentially, remember that what makes an employee successful will also make a business owner successful will prevent this death and infuse life into a worker's dreams.

Article Title: Building A Deck For Your Hot Tub

Many today want to install a hot tub on their existing deck, if your deck was not built will the weight consideration of a hot tub chances are your existing deck will not support a hot tub even though a hot tub may only weigh 400 to 500 lbs they may hold 300 gallons of water a 7 pounds per gallon or and additional 2100 pounds add that to the weight of the tub and add the weight of the occupants you can see the weight per square is quite high. In most cases you deck can be redesigned to hold a hot tub by adding extra support check with your local building department or a qualified person to make sure the chances will support our new tub.

Today there are many choices in deck materials from the traditional cedar and redwood, to pressure treated pin and the new man made materials. The most cost effective of these choices is the pressure treated pine there are three levels of treatment and it is measured by the amount of preservative per cubic foot f lumber the bottom of these is the above grade or ground use at .15 to .25 lbs per foot use this rating for pieces that will not be in contact with the ground. The next level is for pieces that will or might be in contact with the ground and they are rated at .40 pounds per square foot, the highest level which is for below grade is rated a .60 pounds per square foot, 4 x 4's and 6 x 6's are generally have a .60 rating.

Most people prefer the natural woods like Cedar and Redwood these are the most expensive and do have some drawbacks if they are used for the decking they can easily be scratched while moving furniture for example they will also turn grey unless you stain or preserve them a good pressure washing will bring back the natural look.

The new generation of deck material is man made composites these are generally made of recycled products such as wood and plastic these are a little more expensive than pressure treated pine but t will last much longer the drawbacks are it will get dirty much like vinyl siding but again a good pressure washing will bring it back to life the other common complaint about the composites is that it gets hot even with a small amount of sunshine.

No matter what type of material you use for constructing your new deck be sure to check with a professional in deck design to guarantee that your new deck will support that new hot tub.
