Few pieces of home décor offer home owners the ability to express themselves like accent tables. Accent tables are important pieces of any home's look that allow not only the ability to look good, but also a great deal of functionality. Most of the time people use accent tables to express themselves. Because of the great number of accent tables out on the market, home owners can purchase tables that are different sizes and shapes. Some of the best places to find these great accent tables are on the internet. Internet dealers offer the same service as some of the large jewelry warehouses, but they do it at a fraction of the price.
These days, home owners don't have to settle for the old styles of accent tables that their parents probably had. Everything about homes has become much more modern and that includes the tables. New look accent tables are usually more readily available online because furniture warehouses are always much slower to adjust to the new trends. A quick search for accent tables will yield results about a number of different styles that can all look good in a modern home. Though these things might look a little bit out of place in a traditional home, they are absolutely perfect for new style homes.
One of the most popular accent tables on the market today is the modern Nelson bench. This bench is actually more like a coffee table and it provides a great look for any home. The design is simple, as it features wooden connecting bars to hold it together and provide the table top surface. Since manufacturers realize that home owners have different needs depending upon their home structure, this item and many other accent tables are made in different sizes. The smallest size that one will find is the 48 inch by 18 inch table, while larger tables can be as big as 72 inches by 26 inches.
Meridian accent tables are another popular design. These tables are a little bit less sturdy and being smaller, they cannot put up with some of the abuse that other tables can handle. These accent tables are low to the ground and they have a glass table top. The look is absolutely modern and many young home owners are looking to items like this in order to dress up their living room.
Accent tables are a great way to dress up your home, while adding a bit of functionality and some value. In today's home market, look is very important in determining the value of a home. Some nice pieces of décor can make all of the difference in helping to push the value of your home over the top. In addition, you can enjoy the beauty and function of great accent tables every single day. Whether you live in a modern or traditional home, there are great looking accent tables available at a pretty good price. Don't be afraid to get creative and purchase accent tables that show off your personality.

In most of the girly movies that we have all watched, willing, or unwillingly, they all seem to have that one particular thing in common. At least one scene in just about all of these kinds of movies have a dimly lit restaurant or pub. The flowers are sitting perfectly in their place, with a candle flickering away, as the two who are infatuated with each other are about to lock their lips together in a passionate kiss, or, are having an intimate discussion that would forever change their lives. Well, a setting like this is no longer just for the movies.
Imagine, a romantic candlelight dinner with just the two of you, music playing softly in the background, nothing standing between the anticipation, except an elegantly dressed pub table. Now that is a thought worthy of making your dream into reality. Every gal wants to be swept off her feet, and wined and dined, until eternity.
Although this can be very costly once you begin adding it all up, so why not purchase your very own pub table? You can wine and dine from the comfort of your own home, understanding that the movies always portray the perfect moment, without any distraction, or interruption. For the ladies, you all know that you enjoy being the romantic one, as well, so you can romance your other half until the sun comes up the next morning. By having a pub table at your beckon call, you can keep that spark alive, for sure. Or, if, for some reason, the spark in your relationship is beginning to go dim, light that baby back up with a new pub table. The possibilities for adventure and excitement with a pub table are virtually endless. All you have to limit the possibilities is that of your own imagination. You might think about recreating that very famous love scene from "The Lady and the Tramp," if you choose to do so.
Pub tables are available in a wide range of styles and can vary in price. Finding the right one to put in your home should be a fairly simple process. If your pub table will be going in a room all its own then by all means look at the many pub tables available and pick the one that takes your breath away. If you are not so fortunate as to have a spare room for your pub table, try to stay within the limits of the existing décor of your room.
If you have your heart set on a specific pub table and know it is not going to match your existing theme in the room that is fine. Here is a little hint for similar situations, place the pub table in a cozy corner of the room that has been emptied of clutter. Place a screen as to slightly block the pub table in, add a rose or candle and viola you now have a separate room for your romantic dinner dates with your loved one.

Many times you really have to pay attention and strain your eyes to find a traditional weather vane perched atop a roof top or cupola. However, were you to take a trip back in time to the beginning of the 20th century, then you would be hard pressed to NOT find a weathervane atop a house—at least if you were out in the country. Back then, having a wind vane atop your home was not some decorative feature—it was a matter of survival!
Indeed, the invention of television, radio, and even the Internet has rendered the traditional weather vane obsolete. We no longer need some odd-looking rooster or horse to point in the direction of the wind to tell us which way a storm is coming from—after all, we have the Weather Channel for that! So, if we really don't need weathervanes today—why are companies still making them and people still buying them?
Everyone likes to accessorize everything—from their wardrobe to their car. The home is no different and that is why there are thousands of companies making all kinds of accessories for your home—from garden gnomes to weathervanes. Mounting a classic aluminum or copper weather vane to your home adds a distinctive touch of class and style to the home without being hideous or gaudy (unlike some of those garden gnomes!!!).
Some homeowners are not even putting the weathervanes atop their roof top or cupola and are opting instead to place them in the garden or yard. While unconventional, this has become increasingly popular and is a great way to add some original design and style to your garden space. You can even coordinate the weathervane with other adornments in the yard for a more complete and unified look.
Indeed, the popularity of the traditional weathervane did drip significantly as more and more people left the farm and moved into the cities during the early part of last century. As radio and other communication mediums rendered the weathervane obsolete in the traditional sense—it has survived and thrived by continuing to serve as a piece of the Americana fabric in the aesthetic sense.
Buying a classic weather vane is simple because there are a number of reputable websites selling them in a wide assortment of styles and materials. Plus, with a lower overhead and wider selection than most "brick-and-mortar" retailers, online merchants tend to have the best prices and most choices so hop online today and start looking for the perfect weathervane for your home or garden!

Mirrors are the true reflection of any personality and decorative mirrors are no different. Imagine a life spent without ever looking into a decorative mirror. It is something that simply cannot be contemplated. Decorative mirrors tend to be versatile and besides providing the much needed avenue to study your reflection, they can light up any room when strategically placed or mounted.
Decorative mirrors can add that extra something to a bathroom and can also add the much needed depth in a small room that is not lighted well enough. If you want to add that additional sparkle to you prevailing home decor, decorative mirrors are a nice option.
Decorative mirrors are available in many varieties depending on your need. Wall decorative mirrors are the most common and the most popular option are traditionally rectangular in shape. Ideally the wall decorative mirrors can be hung over sofas or mantles and even in hallways.
Contemporary decorative mirrors are the latest in a line of sleek metal finish mirrors that add class to any room where they are mounted. Stylish and elegant, these decorative mirrors promise to lighten up even the most downcast person simply because of their presentation. The availability of sophisticated designs in decorative mirrors makes them a nice accessory in any room.
Ideal shapes of decorative mirrors are round, square and oval, but these are the norm. If decorative mirrors are to be placed in strategic locations in the room, then you can be daring and choose other shapes available of the market as long as it does not spoil the decor.
Decorative mirrors are also in demand in bathrooms because they can light up a dull day. Typically bathroom mirrors are meant for shaving or even brushing, but when used decoratively, these mirrors add an extra dimension to the bathroom, especially where natural light is scanty.
As far as coloring goes, decorative mirrors are available in all colors and can match even the most exacting home decor. These days casual decorating mirrors are popular because they add style and presence to a room irrespective of whether it is a living room or a bed room.
Floor decorative mirrors are another option in homes that require a light effect. These mirrors are also called as style floor mirrors and are usually used in bedrooms, dressing tables and the like. Decorating mirrors used for vanity purposes are another aspect that can be accommodated in make-up areas or on bathroom counters.
The size of a decorative mirror is irrelevant at best, but it makes sense to choose the perfect size depending on the planned location of the decorative mirrors. Sizes differ greatly and are available in compact, small, large and even kids' size.
The saying goes that a mirror reflects your style. With decorative mirrors there is always and option to make a personalized style statement to you peers or relatives because a well crafted decorative mirror is an asset in any home

In times of the past, many found it "disrespectful" to "lean" on tables, as well as chairs, when at the "dinner" table. Do not emphasize on all the uses of the quotations while reading this. The point has to be made, without being personal. That's the way things are, and yet, it's a surety that you can remember, somewhat, of what the discussion is about so far. There was a time, as still exists, the "leaning" form at the table is a sign of disinterest, and would rather be, altogether, not dealt with at the table, especially among children, of course, to raise them correctly. So many rules, but at the back of the mind of those that feel this way, so many styles.
Feel not that you are alone with this same situation. Although, the rearing of our children is important to the best, or even worse, of us, the style, as pertaining to where we, and our family, or guest, are seated, and to which seat we plant ourselves, is still prominent in our thoughts, when dealing with the type of furniture we have to match our table with, as well as the dining ware. When considering how important the most desirable seating arrangement could be, there is nothing left to be undesirable. Is there a sense of the "elite" in this commentary? An apology is necessary, because, it is not intended, nor made to be functionality here. Yet, the style, and comfort ability, still has a place here, that the attitude is presumed, does not. Allow, please, for this description to continue, if you will.
The Parsons chair has always, at is might seem, had a place at the most prominent, and the most simple, as well, of tables. There was a time when "meals" were met on the floor, circled around the meal, as is in many cultures today, as we speak. Yet, for the cultures that choose seating, the Parsons chair is one of the first to become the chair of choice, and does, yet, still this day. Obviously, there is a reason for this.
It's been yet to mention the many various styles that the Parsons chair is made out of, as many as the imagination could think of, but this same criteria can be met when considering the many plus types of material the Parsons chair could be made of, as well. Found in the most exquisite of materials, from silk, to leather, and made from the most classic of materials, such as wood, to the most modern, plastic, there is no way to search for a Parsons chair, and not find what you're looking for. It's only safe to say that whichever type of lifestyle you're trying to promote at this juncture in your life, you can easily make a bold statement with that of a decent Parsons chair in your dining room. If you find this unbelievable, then ask all those that have been before you, including, if you can, those of royalty!

One of the classiest pieces of home décor on the market is the world globe. If you are looking to upgrade your home's look and add something scholastic at the same time, world globes are an excellent option. Though there is only one earth, there are many different types of world globe. Depending upon your house and the space that you have, there are a few different types that might fit your needs.
The Colonial is one of the most expensive of the world globes. These are smaller globes that can sit on a table or another piece of accent furniture. They are generally brown and the globe itself appears in a classic form. This is probably the most sophisticated looking piece of all of the world globes. Because it is a little bit darker than other globes, it goes best with darker surroundings. This is one the world globes that you would expect to see in the office of a history professor.
The Lancaster is a world globe that that has a little bit more color. This is one of the world globes that would undoubtedly look better in the home of a younger person. Each continent on the globe has a different color and the resulting look makes this a very "loud" globe. This globe is a taller globe, as it sits on a stand. One of the advantages of this is that you do not have to take up any more surface space in order to display the globe. This globe can also be illuminated, meaning that it will look great at night.
The Cambridge globe is one of the largest world globes on the market. Because of its size, it creates quite a space commitment within any office or living room. The Cambridge is one of the newer world globes on the market, so you can expect the topography to be up to date. This is something that other globes often don't offer. Like the Lancaster, this globe also sits on a floor stand. The stand for this globe isn't nearly as tall as the Lancaster, though.
The Early Explorer is one of the world globes that can be put on a desk. It will remind folks of the globe that their history teacher in high school might have had. The beautiful blue surface that represents the oceans is a wonderful touch, making this one of the best world globes to look at. Standard Early Explorer world globes are about 13 inches tall and they make a perfect desk accent for any sophisticated individual.
World globes are a great piece of home décor for any home. Whether you choose a world globe that sits on a stand or one that needs to sit on a piece of furniture, you are sure to add some class to any room. Because there are so many different types of world globes, you can choose the one that fits your house perfectly. For the price, world globes are a great value for any home.

What can be said about plastic that we do not know already, accept that it has become one of the greatest of all products that man uses in order to manufacture everything, and anything man can imagine? Since the invention of plastic, it was only a matter of time that furniture was to find its way onto the list of the many things that could possibly be made with plastic.
First, plastic is a very inexpensive material to make, therefore making it a very inexpensive material to purchase. Secondly, plastic is one of the most durable products ever made, fainting not at the harshest conditions that the elements of nature can throw at it, and has no fear of becoming rusted. Thirdly, plastic can be shaped and formed to every imagination that man can conjure up. Last, but not least, plastic can be manufactured in every color known to man, without having to be painted, or stained. Plastic furniture, because of all the qualities it has to offer, is one of the most sought after components for many households around the world.
Plastic patio furniture is rapidly becoming the furniture of preference after considering the money that can be saved when in comparison to wood, or stone. Because very little revenue is needed to manufacture plastic, the same can be said when purchasing such products. Wood and stone patio furniture can range well into the thousands of dollars, while plastic patio furniture will only take you into the mere hundreds, if you choose to go that high.
Plastic patio furniture is becoming the first alternative for homeowners, simply because it is known that it will still be here for generations to come, with very little maintenance. Plastic patio furniture can remain outside throughout the year without the fear of becoming rotted, or rusted. In most cases, a simple wiping down with a rag is all that is needed to keep it clean, or a simple spray from a garden hose can do the job with no thought of disappointment. For patio furniture that you want to make sure is going to be passed from one generation to another, it's almost impossible not to go with plastic.
Patio furniture made from plastic is especially ideal for those that still want to keep the woodsy appeal to the appearance of their furniture. Because plastic can be shaped and formed to any mold, it can be made to have a wood grain look, or even a vine look, if preferred. It can be made to look smooth, or rough. If desired, your plastic patio furniture can still retain a solid metal look. With the never-ending array of colors given to plastic, you can be sure to find any style, in any color. Plastic has helped patio furniture to become one of the champions of its kind.

After you have finished you outdoor garden, it is time to admire your hard work and effort. Why would you want to do that from afar? To truly admire all of your work, you can only do it from a close up view of your work. Many consumers have no idea the wide array of garden benches that are currently available.
For instance, the park style garden bench is among the only options consumers think of when they think of a garden bench. Although, this style is beautiful and comfortable it is not the only option out there today. The park style garden bench serves its purpose, but, can you feel confident with buying the first bench you see. Be sure to explore all of the options prior to the purchase of a new garden bench.
Among the more expensive of garden benches is the stone garden bench. This particular style adds a wonderful look to your yard as well as giving you the ideal spot to place your bottom for admiration purposes. Although, if you plan on being in your garden for a longer span of time, this may not be the bench that will best meet your criteria for comfort. Stone garden benches will last for years in the elements of nature, so this is a great purchase for a garden area.
Another of the nicer options available in garden benches is the wrought iron with or without wooden slats for the seating area. The wrought iron can add a one of a kind style to your garden, and be a great addition, as not to take away from the gardens overall look, usually the wrought iron garden bench greatly compliments any garden. With or without armrests will be among the hardest part of your deciding when it comes to the purchase of the wrought iron garden bench. This will have to depend solely on your personal preference of garden bench.
Teak garden benches are another one of the top rated garden benches that are available today. They tend to be a little higher in price, due to the fact that they can usually outlive all other patio and garden furniture. Teak garden benches are designed to beat Mother Nature at her own game. Not only to the hold up against the elements of weather, but will remain beautiful and comfortable. For a more detailed design in teak garden benches, you can easily find one with engraved back, with and without armrest, and if you have a preference in the style of the back of your bench, you can get a varying style. A high back garden bench seems to be among the most popular among the teak garden benches. But, if that is not to your liking, rest assured as you can get a mid back or low back design as well.
These garden benches are just a few, hopefully giving you a taste of what is available today in garden benches. For the perfect garden bench, you must try not to get a bench that can take away from the beauty of your garden. A garden bench should only compliment the garden and be comfortable to sit in.

Although you can find a wide variety of them online at reasonable prices take into consideration the shipping costs that you may incur. In making a purchase of this size you will want to make sure that it is well crafted and sturdy enough to be a lasting investment in your household. The same should apply to a light wood finish.
Some of the more elaborate and expensive wooden pedestal tables can be offered with some really nice engraved or carved legs. These are extremely beautiful and add a nice finishing touch of class to any dining room. Any choice that you make in your buying a new pedestal dining table you can be assured that you will enjoy it for a long time to come. Is there a piece of furniture, possibly, that has a more ancient background, without actually keeping, throughout the time, the look that has been so prominent throughout the ages, like the Étagère? How many pieces of furniture, can we say, or determine, that has been made, from every material known to man, as well as papier-mâché, and has the longevity of the Californian "petrified?" How many pieces of furniture, can we actually admit to, that we would say, or admit, that this piece of furniture has lasted from then, until now? How many pieces of furniture, besides those that know, will admit, that that one piece of furniture will have a longevity unknown to man, without unknown, almost, man-made material, that will be able to be passed from one generation, to another?
If you're reading this, then, you are obviously, one, one that has taste that belongs to the royal family, and two, one that wants a piece of furniture that will be coveted by family members that know a piece of "heirloom" when they see it. If this is the case, please, look no further, because, your search has ended here!
The étagère is, obviously, a piece of furniture that has been, and will be, considered an artwork, regardless of our own conceptions. The étagère has been in many a household since the ancient Africans, first (as hard as that may be to believe, to some), to the ancient Eastward (Chinese), to the European, Islamic, and then, the Americas, after! The Étagère, obviously, has its points of longevity, as far as style is concerned, but is only rivaled by the longevity of its material that it's made from!
The style, alone, has been hand-crafted, for most of the years that it has been built, from the best "crafters" that the world can find. The étagère is not a chair to be mocked with one that most might prefer. The étagère is a chair that has always been made for one, and can, if you allow it to, give you that unusual feeling of regality! It does appear to be a throne, does it not? Knowing the skillfulness that took place in crafting this chair can only add to this feeling when perching atop this throne. There are companies that do bring this same type of seat to the public not so "privileged," but, not to worry! In no way do these duplicates take from the original in a way that would possibly make those watchful eyes question the originality of your choice! Your secret is safe from the "unknowing" eyes of them that pry!
The etagere. What more can be said about a chair that the most prominent have sat upon in times past, but, if it is good for their back side, could it possibly be wrong for yours? As is said in today's societies, what is good for the "king" is good for the "your name here," as well. Think about it. Is there anything too good for your rear? I thought not.

Enjoy showing off your personal style and creativity by accenting your outdoor furniture with the perfect cushions. Not make your furniture disappear in the loudness of the cushions.
Outdoor cushions are available for most types of outdoor seating. Many different companies manufacture outdoor cushions, so shop around before making your purchase. Sometimes with very little effort one can get the same cushion for nearly 50% less than the first time they noticed. Patience can save you money. It's wise to look, not only for the bargain, but to not take away from the comfort expected from your furniture cushion.
Sometimes, it can be something as simple as an outdoor furniture cushion to be overlooked to add comfort to your already comfortable outdoor furniture. Sometimes, it can be that the current cushions you already own have lost their oomph, and have flattened out beyond fluffing after some time. Other times, it can be as simple as just not liking the cushions you have any more, as it's human to lean toward the more stylish motif when your own uniqueness has matured.
A thought that might be quite pleasant for you to know, is that there are hundreds, if not thousands, of companies that specialize in making outdoor furniture cushions, making the number of styles to choose from beyond astronomical. Many have learned, those that didn't have any cushions to begin with, or those that have just tired from the outdoor furniture cushion that they already possess, that sometimes, all it takes is some new cushions to add that spark that your outdoor furniture might be missing.

Article Title: The British Virgin Islands Yacht Charter Is The Way To See The British Virgin Islands

A British Virgin Islands Yacht Charter can allow you to see more of the British Virgin Islands, known as the BVI, than you could have believed possible. The British Virgin Islands is an archipelago of over 60 islands and cays, each unique, and many of them completely untouched and very much unspoiled by civilization.
There are some of the best beaches in the Caribbean, sheltered by coral reefs, sheltered bays, coves, and in some places the most spectacular boulders. You will find this backed by lush green valleys, and rolling hills.
The best way to see all of this is almost certainly to opt for one of many British Virgin Islands Yacht Charters.
You can choose from a number of different options to go British Virgin Islands Sailing.
The first option are Crewed Charters, where you hire a captain and a crew and charter any type of boat from a catamaran to a Power Boat. You can have a cook, space permitting, drinks and all meals, and this is a very comfortable way to see the BVI
The second option is Bareboat Charter where you sail the boat yourself, and supply all food and drink, but this potentially gives you the freedom of the British Virgin Islands.
Day sailing is a great way to see the British Virgin Islands, where a group of people hire a variety of boats, some as big as 80 feet. You can take a half day or a full day, cover surprising distances, and take with you whatever you want in the way of food and drink
The Day Sailing has become popular because it serves the hotel and resort and guest house industry. People who want the genuine British Virgin Islands Yacht Charter but don't want to live on a yacht or suffer any discomfort while they are at it!!
British Virgin Islands Sailing is an invigorating experience. A day out on the water when the captain stops the engine and raises the sails simply takes you away from the world at large. You might put ashore for lunch or have lunch on board.
You may be taken to some of the best beaches in the whole Caribbean to anchor offshore and swim in the warm water perhaps only a few yards away from the beach people but in another world as you are so close to a coral reef that you can just slip overboard and hey presto you are in a multicoloured undersea aquarium.
These are the joys of a British Virgin Islands Yacht Charter, and if you want to spread your wings even further then there is Powerboating. You can hire a crew lunch and drinks, and the speed can take you to the BVI's most remote areas and secluded beaches.
Some of the best beaches in the British Virgin Islands that a yacht charter might take you to could include the best beaches on Tortola including Apple Bay, Trunk Bay, and Smuggler's Cove on the North Coast, Brewer's Bay on the Ocean Coast, as well as Josiah's Bay, and Lambert Bay Beach.
Long Bay East on Beef Island as well as Trellis Bay.
On Virgin Gorda you will find the world renowned The Bath, and nearby Spring Bay, The Crawl, and Devil's Bay. In addition Little Dix Bay, Long Bay, Mahoe Bay, Savannah Bay, and Prickly Pear Island.
Anegada has Loblolly Bay, Cow Wreck Bay.
Cooper Island has Manchioneel Bay and Guana Island has White Bay. Jost Van Dyke has Sandy Cay, White Bay, whilst Peter Island has Deadman's Bay and White Bay.
The list of beaches in the BVI is almost endless, and a British Virgin Islands Yacht Charter can take you to all these wonderful places. Go to the BVI and charter a yacht.

Grenada isn't an island as many people presuppose, but in fact it is a three island state consisting of Grenada, Carriacou, and petite Martinique. It is an ideal destination for a Caribbean Vacation with Grenada itself being the largest of the three islands by some margin. Grenada is twenty one miles long and twelve miles wide, with a total area of 133 square miles, so it isn't so big as you can get lost, nor too small to discover all its secrets too quickly.
The three islands of Grenada are to be found in the Eastern Caribbean right at the bottom end of the Windward Islands, and only 100 miles from Venezuela on the mainland. North is Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, and to the south Trinidad and Tobago.
The climate of Grenada is neither too hot or too cold, varying from 75 degrees F to 87 degrees F, with the lower end being between November and February. The rainy season is between June and December but it hardly ever rains for more than an hour, and then not even every day, so the climate is eminently suitable for a Caribbean Vacation.
Grenada has about 45 beautiful beaches, and this is the big draw for tourists. The beaches are public property which means that the public has the right of access at all times.
On the westward or leeward side of Grenada is one of the most beautiful beaches in the Caribbean called Grand Anse Beach. It is two miles of white sand in a sheltered bay, and has a number of hotels situated along its shore. It is sheltered and safe for swimming. There is a lot to do here, it is quite busy, but you will find everything from restaurants, hotels, water sports centres, even deck chair rentals.
If however you want to be in a less touristy spot there are six other beaches on the west coast between Grand Anse and Point Salines, which are more private, and particularly you might enjoy Morne Rouge Beach. It is just south of Grand Anse, is smaller, and calm with lots of shallow water making it very good for families. In addition there are no water sports shops, and only one hotel and restaurant on the beach.
The best snorkelling beaches are near to the Aquarium Restaurant or Rex Grenadine Hotel.
The most secluded beaches are at Lance Aux Epines and St David's. It isn't as easy to get to them, and you will need a 4x4 vehicle but the effort is well worth while. Some of the beaches are black sand but La Sagesse Beach is ideal for the family and is the traditional white sand, and is much favoured at the weekends.
To complete the list there is Bathway beach in the north east of Grenada is probably the second most popular of the beaches and has an area where non swimmers bathe safely but as it is on the Atlantic side the water can be quite rough for parts of the year.
Levera Beach north of Bathway and is close to Sugarloaf Island and needs a four wheel drive vehicle , and finally Sauteurs beach on the north coast is usually deserted and a lovely beach with great views of the islands of the Grenadines.

The Al Bustan Palace Hotel Oman is one of the finest hotels in Muscat Oman, and is a serene oasis of style, grandeur and hospitality.
The Al Bustan Palace is the leading Oman beach hotels resorts, and is one of the finest hotels of its kind in the Middle East.
It stands in 200 acres of palm shaded gardens, beneath a rugged mountain backdrop, with a large sweep of beach next to the clear blue waters of the Indian Ocean. The hotel is designed to replicate the rich culture of architecture in Oman.
Only 40 minutes drive from the airport, and 10 minutes from Muscat, the Al Bustan Hotel is ideally placed for a beachside vacation, or exploring Oman.
I am very pleased to have found the Al Bustan Palace Hotel Oman, it has been a real find, from the attentive staff, to the décor, and the sheer comfort. It is easy to see why the Al Bustan Palace is rated as one of, if not the finest of the Oman hotels resorts.
We stayed in an Arabian Junior Suite which was very spacious and beautifully decorated, with amazing views of the sea, the mountains and the lovely gardens. They have a lovely beach. Canoes, boats etc are available
Everything you could need or want had been catered for, we really felt totally spoilt, nothing seemed to be too much trouble for the extremely attentive staff.
To view photographs go to http://www.worldwidevacationspots.com/articles/6/1/Al-Bustan-Palace-Hotel-Oman/Page1.html
I stay in top hotels routinely, but I have slept in some shockingly uncomfortable beds in my time, but the bed was probably the most comfortable hotel bed ever!!
In terms of meals at the Al Bustan Palace, we were impressed from the sheer scale of the hot and cold dishes at breakfast to the stylish restaurants serving delicious food.
It is the little touches that can make or break a holiday, and the complimentary cool box on the beach was just fantastic. It had bottles of mineral water, ice, ice cold flannels, and a cool spray – quite magnificent when you have chosen high summer and 40 degrees for your vacation!!
I will definitely return to The Al Bustan Palace, although my return will be delayed by the refurbishment in 2007.

Moody's Namena on Namenalala Island Fiji is not for people who need to be entertained. It's for people for whom the journey and the surroundings and the company are what makes a vacation.
It is a three hour boat ride to Namenalala, whose name means 'Uninhabited Island' , which is close enough because there can only ever be 10 guests in a small retreat on the edge of the jungle.
This is a totally unique form of escapism, not because of what Moody's has, but what it doesn't have. It doesn't have electricity, so no television, or stereo music, or cell phones, and that in itself is almost good enough for me.
So what has it got?...
It is just the most beautiful island, and it is large enough to enjoy, and to escape in if you get what I mean. Small coral atolls can be almost claustrophobic, and this most definitely is not.
There are gorgeous white sand beaches that are completely secluded with crystal clear turquoise sea all around, and the water is warm as well!!
I should add that any return to nature style vacation like Moody's has also got the kind of wildlife associated with a tropical island stuck out in the middle of the ocean, by this I mean, mosquitos, spiders, birds and bats – almost wherever you go!
I am a bit of a foody on my vacation, and the food here does not disappoint, with each meal different, but delicious, and eaten dinner party style with the other guests and owners in the Club House. If you want a picnic lunch, just ask, it will be perfectly prepared. All meals are included in the price.
Accommodation is in six large and spacious houses called 'Bures' which are well apart. They are designed so well, and all have spectacular views, because they are a hexagonal design, with five doors which can all be open, for the view and for the breeze!!
They appear to be self sufficient with piped gas that heats the water, and a kettle, with rainwater for drinking water, and salt water for the toilets.
Solar power for the fan and a small reading light.
Romantic gas lights and a King sized bed draped with a mosquito net complete the picture, along with local hardwood fittings complete the picture.
You must go before the 21st century arrives and maybe spoils it all

Consistently voted one of the top Fijian Resorts, Taveuni Island Resort & Spa is a small exclusive luxury resort which offer's the Ultimate Tropical Island Experience.
It has been described as the most beautiful small resort in the world
'Set amongst ten acres of lush gardens are twelve elegant luxury bures of unsurpassed style and comfort. Romantic and private they boast panoramic views over the beach, ocean and surrounding islands.'
This is the description of the Taveuni Island Resort & Spa that made me want to find out if it was all that it seemed.
In fact I didn't realise that the bures [cottages] are not on the beach, but perched on a cliff top above the beach, so there is a walk involved here.
Accessing the hotel is not difficult, there are several flights a day from Fiji's international airport at Nadi, the flight time being about 90 minutes. Be aware there are quite strict weight baggage limitations.
The staff meet you at the airport on Taveuni and it only takes about two minutes to get to the resort.
Accommodation is important to all of us on our vacation, and the bures at the Taveuni Island Resort & Spa are exceptional. All are decorated with cool tiles, native floral arrangements, and water colours. There are king size beds with beautiful linens, either fans or air conditioning. Add to this private romantic courtyard showers, and views to die for.
As you would expect from a top class resort Taveuni has a mini bar, coffee and tea making facilities, bathrobes and hairdryers, but it is the little extras like fresh daily cookies that set it apart.
The view from the cliff top pool is another major plus, and in fact the lack of children is a joy, compared to other resorts I have visited.
Dining is another high spot, and the dining area is situated on 'The Deck'. You can expect dishes from Fiji, India, and everything grown locally is organic. If you stay in one of the villas, you have your own chef and staff!! Meal times in common with other Fijian resorts are quite rigid.
The Taveuni Island Resort & Spa is a definite honeymoon destination, near the top of the list

If you are going to stay at The Beach House in Barbuda, then I would make the following comments to you.
The first thing is don't even try to bring any children under the age of sixteen, apart from anything else the ambience of the resort isn't right for kids, and they don't let you.
You need to own an oil well to come here, although it is mostly well worth it, some of the criticism I have read is quite unjustified in my opinion, however use some of your money to organise private flights to the island or you are at the mercy of the daily flight roster, and that can mean long waits at the airport in Antigua.
It is worth the trip just to see the beach, it is spectacular, and seems to go forever, and the views from your suite, and there are 21 of them are views of the beach and the incredible turquoise sea, and furthermore the beach is but a few steps away.
If you are not a beach person, then there is a salt water pool surrounded by wooden decking, but honestly, the beach is just so wonderful, deserted, and the sea is such brilliant colours, and the water is so clear.
Caribbean Hotels, even in the luxury category all have rough edges if you are used to the luxury of the far East, and The Beach House is no exception. The advice given to me was to regard your suite as your own beach house on your own beach, and when you treat it like that, then everything falls into place. No televisions, are a welcome feature, after all we come here to escape the bad news world.
The suites all have a large sitting area, and very comfortable King size, goose down four poster beds, which look out right onto the beach and the lagoon, which is beautiful but not for swimming in.
The best feature is your own Service Ambassador who is only a telephone call away, and you will have your own mobile phone to call him, and they will attend to your every need, and in fact spoil you rotten.
The Club House is where you take your meals, although you can eat on the beach, you only have to ask. The menus look spectacular, and the food may not quite always live up to your expectations, but this is the Caribbean, and quite frankly I don't go to this part of the world for a culinary experience. The food is mostly OK, sometimes very good, and occasionally brilliant.
You should definitely visit The Beach House Hotel in Barbuda, but not between September and December 2006, because it is closed for a refurbishment which can only enhance its charms.

We visited Lazy Lagoon after a safari, and what a place to unwind, and get the dust out of your pores.
It is a small private island lodge, and is run by Alex and Janie Fox, whose knowledge of Africa is just amazing.
You can only arrive one way, and that is by boat, and be warned you will get your feet and legs wet because you will have to wade ashore!!
When you get there a most pleasant surprise awaits because here in the back of beyond is a real Robinson Cruso island, a hidden, almost unknown gem, and speaking personally, I hope it stays that way!!
You will sleep in one of twelve bandas, set by the beach, which is actually about five miles of unspoilt white sand paradise. The bandas are well furnished, and have solar powered hot water, a large shady verandah with spacious rooms and big windows. They are constructed from palm leaf thatch in keeping with the local tradition, and with a wooden panelled interior. The verandahs are perfect for relaxing in a hammock, and watching the fishing fleet go out and come in, and there is a loft area where childrens' beds can be put.
There is room service, and the beach is right on your doorstep.
The food is impressive in its variety and choice, with all three daily meals being incredibly varied. The seafood as you would expect is abundant and very fresh.
You eat in the restaurant which along with the bar are at the tip of the island with the most glorious views of the lagoon.
There is as little or as much as you want to do, but after a safari most people will want to chill out for a few days, and the deserted beach, the beautiful clear turquoise sea can be swum in at high or low tide. Why not try snorkelling, or kayaking, or sailing, or take a dhow trip to a sand island, or a dusk cruise. Perhaps you just want to lie in the sun, and read.
Whatever you do, try to visit Bagamovo town, because it was Livingstone's 'Gateway to Africa' with a truly dark past, as it was the slave port from mainland Africa to Zanzibar. You cannot fail to be moved by the whipping tree which can still be seen in the town square, and the cemetery which bears witness to the suffering and death of the Europeans who made their lives here.
Lazy Lagoon claims to be the most exclusive beach resort in Tanzania.
This might well be fair comment, but I would say a stay of three or four nights either before or after a safari would be about right

Light poles bring safety through visibility to your outdoor spaces. Parking lots, walkways, patios, parks and streets are only a few examples of the type of areas that could benefit from outdoor lighting poles. These should be constructed of a durable material and, if possible, a protective finish that will withstand the elements over a long period of time. An equally important consideration is the type of fixtures which can be easily mounted upon the pole. Whether it is intended for domestic or commercial use, most buyers seek outdoor lighting poles that are designed with maximum flexibility in mind.
Residential, Landscape Lighting & Design offers a comprehensive selection of commercial light poles that meet a full range of demands and individual needs. Our Techlight lighting poles are constructed of weldable carbon steel that is suited to most any application or environment. The pole shafts have full length longitudinal resistance welds and are uniformly cylindrical on cross-section, giving them tremendous strength against virtually any force they might encounter. This durability is reinforced by carbon steel anchor bases which telescope the pole shaft, and fastened by commercial-quality anchor bolts—each of which is tested to a minimum yield strength of 55,000 Ksl. Our outdoor lighting poles come in round straight pole or square straight pole shapes, and can be round tapered poles or square tapered poles at the top. Choose between bronze, black, or white finish, or specify galvanized and custom finishes for added protection. Depending on the application and the type of pole you desire, Techlight outdoor lighting poles come in sizes ranging from 10 to 50 feet! Choosing a lighting pole coated in a galvanized paint will ensure a long life, and will never rust.
When you order a lighting pole, be sure to ask about the various types of footings available. Ranging anywhere between 18 and 24" in diameter, our reinforced steel footings are designed for various wind zones. We strongly recommend that you consult with a licensed electrician or an engineer to determine the proper footing for your area. Soil conditions, environmental conditions, and size of poles should be considered.
Once you have decided upon the size, shape, finish and footings of your outdoor lighting poles, the next step is to place a lighting fixture upon it! Here again, there are a number of options to choose from. Before selecting a tenon, which will determine how many lights may by placed upon the pole, one must consider the type of coverage desired. For example, a light pole along a street or sidewalk may not require the same 360 degree luminosity one might desire from a parking lot light pole. Residential, Landscape Lighting & Design offers every option imaginable. We have simple square tenons which allow for a vertical mounting of a single fixture, horizontal channel brackets that allow for 2, 3 or 4 fixtures to be placed at various angles, as well as cross-bar brackets that allow for multiple vertical mounts. These tenons should be combined with our adjustable knuckle filter, which will allow you to point the light in the direction you desire.
Finally, we recommend our line of outdoor commercial lighting fixtures, which can be easily mounted upon the tenons and brackets described above. Choose from 250, 400 or 1000-watt fixtures. These metal halide fixtures are extremely efficient and long-lasting, and are placed within die cast aluminum housing for extra durability. High pressure sodium and mercury vapor fixtures are also available. Standard colors include bronze, black and white. Each lighting pole fixture comes in a variety of voltage options, including 120V, 208V, 240V, 277V, and 480V.
If this is your first time to attempt an outdoor lighting pole project, do not worry! Although the many options available may be overwhelming at first, the basic principles are the same as any other lighting project.

Not all lighting for businesses is utilitarian. There will be a need in your business to cater to the aesthetic tastes of your employees and customers. You will need to make your office exterior inviting. This will help to draw in potential customers, and by using commercial decorative lighting you also have the added benefit of security that outside lighting can bring to your property. Determining the best choices for commercial decorative lighting needs to be done by, or with the help of, an experienced lighting manufacturer representative. This means that if you are unsure as to what needs to be done, or what products to select, you need to find expert advice to help guide you in creating your decorative lighting displays.
When most people think about decorative commercial lighting what immediately comes to mind are wall scones and decorative light poles. Both of these are prime examples and comprise several of lighting options. Wall scones need to be attached to the side of your building, with easy access to the wiring in the walls. Most often, these are set on either side of the front door. In many cases, decorative wall lanterns can be found in ready to install kits, with everything that you need for installation.
Light poles are a different story, and they will require much more planning in order to execute their placement and wiring. For commercial decorative lighting light poles, you have to first decide which type of pole you want. Then you need to determine how you can mount the pole. There are three main mounting methods for light poles. The manner in which you plant the pole will dictate the height of the pole. One of the methods is embedment. This is where the light pole is sunk into a gravel-lined hole in the ground. It will require 10% of the height you want the light to be above ground plus an additional two feet of length. This formula for selecting street lights will ensure that your light does not end up being too low after you have mounted the pole. The other two mounting methods are much more involved, requiring the use of anchor bolts, poured concrete and lighting pole hardware. They are socket and baseplate mounting. Socket mounting, however, will allow you to have your pole at ground level.
For your decorative commercial lighting selection you will want the ambiance, but you do not want the high electric bills. There are various options to control this. One of the easiest will be to tie your lighting into a timer or light sensor. This will ensure that your lights will only come on when they are needed, at night. Another way to save money on your commercial decorative lighting is to use low voltage lights in them. Most decorative lighting is designed for use with low voltage lighting, anyway. There are several advantages to this. The first is that it will require less energy to light your lights, thus lowering their operating costs. Low voltage lights are also safe enough for even a lay person to install by himself if he follows the proper procedure. There are several options for low voltage lighting. These include: halogens lights, incandescents, fluorescents, and HID lamps such as mercury vapor, high pressure sodium, or metal halide.
Choosing and installing commercial decorative, chandeliers, sign lighting or parking lot lighting is not difficult, but if you need advice, tips or guidance, turn to an expert for the knowledge you need.

Commercial Christmas lighting is the siren call of the store front. Not only do they bring in customers to your place of business, but they also can help your employees get into the holiday spirit. The winter holidays are an exciting time, whether or not you celebrate them yourself. The celebratory mood is infectious, and with a display of bright lights in your windows, you can bring some of that goodwill and joy inside your company. Both your customers and employees will feel more welcome as they come in since a business without blow out Christmas lights during the holiday season seems like a scrooge.
The difference between residential displays and commercial Christmas lighting is that those for business are crafted on a larger scale to be seen from a greater distance away. While a light lawn sculpture for a home might be up to five or six feet tall, commercial light sculptures and pre lit Christmas trees can be up to sixteen feet tall. This also takes into account the proportionately larger size many business are over their residential counterparts. If you were to simply put residential lights in front of your business, the size of your store front might dwarf them, rending them almost unnoticeable. This defeats the purpose of the lights being eye-catching to potential consumers. In the case of commercial Christmas decorations and lighting, bigger is better. You do, however, need to be sure that you are adhering to local municipal lighting codes for these displays. Nothing can dampen your holiday spirit quicker than a citation from the city.
Due to the size of commercial Christmas lighting displays, you will need to take into account the amount of electricity that they will use. One way to save on your December electric bill even with these extra lights is to opt for LED Christmas lighting. LED stands for light emitting diodes. These are LED low voltage string lights which put out a lot of brightness. They are much more energy efficient and cooler than traditional incandescent bulbs. Many lighting experts predict that these lights are the new wave of the future. Their low voltage and durability ensures that they will last for many years to come, and hence they prove to be a wise investment when you are deciding upon types of lights for your commercial Christmas lighting.

In areas where heavy traffic or equipment use can inadvertently break or damage overhead lights, commercial vandal proof ceiling mount lighting fixtures offer a form of lighting whose higher impact and scratch resistance makes them harder to break, dislodge, or tamper with. Commercial ceiling mount vandal proof light fixtures offer schools, public buildings, shopping malls, and indoor apartments and condominiums a long-term, reliable source of lighting that is needs only rare, occasional maintenance. There are four distinct lines of commercial vandal proof ceiling mount fixtures, each consisting of different lamping and design features that differentiate its special value as being optimal for specific environments and/or budgets.
Fluorescent lights combine energy efficiency with vandal proof fixture durability and performance. The commercial grade ceiling mount fixtures ship with 26, 32, or 42-watt compact commercial grade fluorescent lamps included. These ceiling mount vandal proof fixtures come in either white or bronze finishes to match ceiling decor, and they are UL listed for all regions of the United States, including extremely humid areas along the Gulf Coast and extremely dry desert areas in the Southwest. Each fixture includes two forms of tamper proofing. A Torx-head center pin secures the unit itself in place, and slotted Phillips head stainless steel screws fasten the aluminum housing firmly in place to the ceiling. The refractor is made from injection-molded polycarbonate, and is designed for maximum structural strength. Heavy gauge cold rolled steel with high reflectance baked white enamel makes up the reflector and the backplate. These lights are ideal for smaller school districts and civic buildings in small towns on tight budgets.
High-pressure sodium lamps offer a compact, high output form of vandal proof lighting in cramped quarters. As they produce light by passing an arc through sodium gas mixed with other elements, both their lumens per watt output and physical bulb life are the highest producers in our selection of ceiling mounted vandal proof lighting fixtures. The high-pressure sodium fixtures deliver a reliable 24,000 hours of lamp life in almost every situation and lighting environment. Like their fluorescent equivalents, they are designed to optimally perform in damp and wet areas as well as dry regions of the country. We have two models available from which to choose: a low wattage model and a high wattage model. Both come in a similar physical design consisting of die cast aluminum housing with a transparent polycarbonate refractor. Our high-wattage model houses 100 or 150 watt High Pressure Sodium bulbs and is often used for outdoor security lighting. The low wattage model serves as a great overhead source of bright, energy saving light for indoor light ideal for workrooms, warehouses and even garages. All high pressure sodium vandal proof lights come with lamps included, and customers can choose when they order which bulb sizes they desire, or ask one of our experts for a recommended wattage based on fixture placement, usage, and purpose.
Incandescent ceiling mounted vandal proof light fixtures offer commercial establishments a sturdy fixture with a reflector made from die formed heavy gauge steel in white finish with clear polycarbonate refractor. Bulbs are not included with these fixtures, but two 75-Watt A-19 incandescent bulbs with medium base measurements can be ordered in conjunction with these units and installed wherever needed. These are good solid light producers for high ceiling areas where glare and bright light will not present a distraction.
Commercial metal halide lamps in vandal proof ceiling mounted fixtures include the same essential specifications of our other models, but they offer an additional point of value through a quartz restrike option that provides immediate illumination in case of momentary power failure. Our high voltage halide lamps offer 150 or 175 watts of power with a lamp life of 10,000 hours. In situations where the lights do not have to stay on for long hours, but nonetheless produce superior visibility, they offer great benefit. Many commercial clients use halide high-pressure sodium vandal proof lights for adjunct outdoor security lighting. Indoor low voltage equivalents offer the same essential value package with lower wattage and a longer lamp life of up to 15,000 hours.
