Through the last decades science has struggled to estimate the age of the human race. Obviously, evolution would insist this occurred a long time ago, as it would take an incredible span of time for the first human-like creature (the cave man or monkey man) to develop into the sophisticated humans of today.
First, it must be observed that current estimates for the age of mankind are still all over the board. The lack of reliable dating methods for organic material is a serious challenge for all paleo-anthropologists. This might surprise you, but the only reliable dating method for organic material is Carbon-14 dating. This procedure can date organic material such as bones and teeth accurately but only to a maximum of 25,000-30,000 years. Dating older organic material is nothing more than guesswork. In many cases these guesses rely on "leap of faith" assumptions by dating the rocks found near the organic material in question, wildly asserting these rocks were formed at the same time as the bones/skull/teeth were deposited. Obviously that is not science, but only wishful thinking.
Recently the advance of genetics has opened a new pathway to estimate the age of mankind through the analysis of human organic material. By comparing samples of currently living humans with well dated DNA samples from the past, an estimate can be made for the rate the human DNA record changes. Applying this estimated natural mutation rate to a representative sampling of the DNA of today's world population, allows to estimate how much time would be required for today's human DNA to mutate ("deteriorate") from a common ancestor. As every cell in the human body contains the combined DNA from both the father and the mother, analyzing this DNA would not allow to trace the separate ancestry of the male or female. However, two portions of human genetic material do not recombine in reproduction, namely:
1) Mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) This DNA resides in the so called mitochondria structures, outside the cell's nucleus. Mitochondria are the "cellular power plants." They convert food molecules into energy. Mitochondria contain DNA that is independent of the DNA in the chromosomes that is stored in the cell nucleus. Both men and women get nearly all of their mtDNA only from their mother. In the late 1980s and early 1990s a number of studies examined the mtDNA of women all over the world. These concluded that all women descended from one "Eve" who lived within the last 200,000 years. Refinements in measurements lowered these original estimates to 135,000 years and finally to less than 100,000 years. These studies not only suggest a much younger age for humanity than previously assumed, but also indicate that all humans descend from ONE woman, ruling out that humans would have simultaneously evolved in multiple locations/regions.
2) A large segment of the Y-chromosome. Only men have a Y-chromosome, most of which they receive only from their father. Since 1995 studies have been conducted to trace genes on this Y-chromosome to determine the age and descent of males. Various studies all indicate younger ages for mankind. What may well be the most reliable study published so far, calculates a common ancestor to modern man at between 37,000 and 49,000 years ago.
These studies also indicate that genetically all humans are much more alike than one would predict from Darwinian theory. Examinations of the genetic sequences of diverse modern human populations reveal minor differences, if any at all. One scientist noted: "It's a mystery none of us can explain." All this evidence suggests a recent origin for modern humans, far more recent than evolutionary theory would allow.
Evidence from archaeology and anthropology is consistent with such estimates for the age of humanity. Sophisticated works of art first appear about 40,000-50,000 years ago, and evidence of religious relics and altars date back no earlier than 25,000 years.
Archaeological finds of leftovers of human habitation date back only 15,000 years ago. Claims for older finds are rarely presented.
Accounts in the Biblical book of Genesis mention the descendents from the first man, Adam, through Noah, Abraham and Moses. Based on the literal reading of this data, it can be calculated that Adam was created by God a little over 6,000 years ago. This is also the date claimed by Six Day Creationists for the actual creation of the world. Other scholars point out the common practice of ancient Hebrew culture to skip generations in the genealogical records. Thus it is conceivable there were substantially more generations between Adam and Abraham than recorded in Genesis. These scholars generally theorize that, based on these records, Adam and Eve could have lived 8,000 to even 25,000 years ago. These views are the basis of the suggested range of 6,000 to 25,000 years old for the age of mankind. These Biblical estimates are surprisingly consistent with those supported by archaeology.
Whichever way one looks at the data, one conclusion is inescapable: as time progresses, estimates from science come ever closer to the age inferred by the Biblical accounts

The word canon is derived from the Greek word kanon ("kanon"), a rod, ruler, staff, or measuring rod. The Biblical canon is the list of books recognized by the leaders of the church, based on objective criteria, to be inspired by God and to authoritatively and accurately express the historical relationship between God and His people.
For the Old Testament, the canon was initially implicit and undisputed. When the Torah was written, it was immediately recognized as inspired by God, handled with great reverence, maintained by the priests and stored in the Ark of the Covenant. Most other books of the Old Testament were handled in the same manner. While the Jewish nation was flourishing under judges and kings, and prophets were recognized as men from God, their history and prophecies were written and protected by the priests and scribes. After the captivities of the two Jewish kingdoms and the scattering of the people this became problematic. Even so, the work was still manageable as the priests in Jerusalem continued to maintain the Scriptures.
The first serious discussion about the canon began with the translation of the Septuagint or LXX (the translation of the Hebrew Old Testament into Greek in Alexandria, Egypt around 285 BC). A number of texts included in the LXX were not part of the Scriptures recognized by Jerusalem. These are mostly writings after 400 BC, whereas Jews in Jerusalem considered Malachi (ca. 450 BC) the last prophet. The Hebrew canon had informally been established before 150 BC; this is corroborated by various rabbinical writings of those days stating "the voice of God had ceased to speak directly." In other words, the prophetic voice had gone quiet, as without prophets there is no new scriptural revelation.
The rise of Christianity (which, in its earliest days, used only the LXX) caused Jewish leaders to recognize the need for a formal canon. Likely by the end of the first century the canon of the Hebrew Old Testament had been officially closed. Some claim this happened at the Council of Jamnia around 100 AD. Most scholars now believe that there was never a council, but that the Rabbinic school at Jamnia became the substitute for the Sanhedrin after the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 AD and through the teachings of the school, the canon was fixed in the 70-135 AD period.
The completed canon of the Hebrew Bible contains the same books and texts (in a slightly different order) as the modern Protestant Old Testament. However, in 1546 the Roman Catholic clergy accepted the entirety of the Septuagint as the canon for its Old Testament. Therefore Roman Catholic Bibles contain additional books of the OT Apocrypha (also known as deuterocanonical – "second canon"). These are Tobit, Judith, Wisdom of Solomon, Ecclesiasticus (also called Sirach or Ben Sira), Baruch (including the Letter of Jeremiah), First and Second Maccabees, and additions to the books of Esther and Daniel.
The Eastern Orthodox Church has accepted the Septuagint as the definition of the canon for its Old Testament, adding further the books of First Esdras, the Prayer of Manasseh, Psalm 151, and Third Maccabees, with Fourth Maccabees as an appendix.

The lives of the twelve Apostles as well as those of Paul and James provide clear evidence they were convinced Jesus really returned from the dead, but perhaps they were deceived. They believed it to be true, but had they been fooled?
Over the centuries there have been several variations of this notion, usually known as the swoon theory. All have been abandoned or died a quiet death. The general idea is that Jesus survived the cross and was later revived. His appearances to the disciples were therefore not miraculous, as he never died in the first place.
The theory comes in different flavors, some include:
• The Passover Plot (1965). According to its author, Hugh Schonfield, Jesus was a deceiver who carefully plotted His career as Israel's Messiah. Working closely with accomplices Lazarus and Joseph of Arimathea, He planned His survival of the cross. While on the cross, Joseph arranged to have Jesus given a drink to appear dead. On Saturday, Jesus was then removed from the grave and revived.
• The Jesus Scroll (1964). Donovan Joyce in 1964 asserted to have been told of a now lost scroll that might have been written by Jesus at the age of 80. He suggests that Jesus never died on the cross, but plotted with the guards, that after being drugged He was pronounced dead. In the tomb, a doctor, assisted by Joseph of Arimathea (Jesus' uncle) nursed Jesus back to health. As Jesus recovered, He paid one last visit to His disciples and then lived as a monk at Qumran. Jesus married Mary Magdalene, fathered at least one son, and fought the Roman army at Masada, where He died.
• Holy Blood, Holy Grail (1982). This account claims that Jesus was drugged to make Him appear dead. Pilate was bribed to the body's removal from the cross alive. The Essenes (yes, they are part of this as well) then laid His body in the grave of Joseph of Arimathea (a relative of Jesus). Jesus revived and went to France, together with His secret wife Mary Magdalene (remember, this book also inspired Dan Brown's The DaVinci Code), Joseph and Lazarus (Jesus' brother-in-law). There, Jesus and Mary's children start a secret royal bloodline.
These accounts are a great illustration of Occam's razor. How many more wild fantasies have to be invented to explain away the facts? How much better does the resurrection fit the events? The swoon accounts all assume that Jesus was administered some kind of drug to make Him look dead, and a number of unlikely accomplices helped him escape death and revive in the tomb. However, how wild are these speculations? Even with these speculative props, how could Jesus fool the other people at the crucifixion? How could He convince the Jews and Roman soldiers that He was dead when only drugged? And lastly, even for a moment, suppose He swooned, think about the shape Jesus would have been in. He was flogged and had been nailed to a cross for several hours. Even if still alive, Jesus would have been in desperate need of serious medical help. If He would have appeared to the disciples in this shape, they would have not believed for a second this was a glorious resurrection, instead they would have immediately realized that somehow Jesus had survived the crucifixion and needed immediate medical attention.

Bodybuilding is an incredible exercise program that does more for the body than just build up muscle and physique. Bodybuilding also strengthens the ligaments and tendons, the skeletal system, and burns more calories due to the increased metabolic rate of the body. Although using weight belts for bodybuilding workouts and routines is quite common, it is also controversial.
There are two opposing schools of thought amongst weightlifters and bodybuilders. Those who advocate the use of weight belts for bodybuilding believe that a weight lifting belt will protect the lumbar portion of the spinal column. There are also many who believe categorically that there is no place for the use of weight belts in bodybuilding. They think weight belts give individuals a false sense of security, and they cannot take the place of strong, functional core and trunk muscles.
Weight Lifting Belts – What Are They?
A weight belt is rigid and generally made from leather, but also can be made out of high-strength, durable nylon. A weight lifting belt is fastened around the bodybuilder's waist and secured in they same fashion as a normal belt. The part of the belt that crosses the small of the back is usually about six inches high.
The Pros Of Weight Belts For Bodybuilding
Bodybuilders who favor the use of a weight lifting belt during their bodybuilding workouts believe that the weight lifting belt will protect the lumbar portion of the spinal column from needless injury. They also believe that the thickness and width of the belt spanning the lower back can prevent injury to the all important back muscles.
Another benefit attributed to the weight lifting belts is that the stiffness of the belt acts as a reminder to the individual not to arch or bend their back when lifting. Bodybuilders who arch their back when lifting weights risk permanent damage to the spine.
For power lifters undertaking maneuvers such as squats and clean and jerk, the added support of a weight belt provides extra protection for the small of the back.
The Cons of Weight Belts For Bodybuilding
Bodybuilders opposed to the use of weight belts for bodybuilding believe that a weight belt cannot take the place of a strong, fully functioning core of trunk muscles. Weight belts can give the individual a false sense of security and safety, allowing poor form to creep into their workouts. They further argue that wearing of the belt causes needless pressure on the abdomen, which can increase the bodybuilder's blood pressure.
They also believe that the use of a weight lifting belt is counterproductive in building up the muscles of the lower back. Dependence on belt can weaken the small of the back rather than allow for its strengthening, which is one of the major reasons for taking up weightlifting or bodybuilding.
In a study of 50 male weightlifters done at Albany Medical Center in Albany, NY, researchers discovered that men not using weightlifting belts had more abdominal and back strength than the men who did use weight belts.
The bottom line? Whether you believe weight belts for bodybuilding are a good thing or not, if you have medical problems, injuries, or are new to exercising, check with your physician before starting any program. Follow your doctor's advice for your exercise and health safety and always remember, no matter how fit you are, to lift weights with caution.

Two important defensive driving techniques are very simple, very obvious, and very often overlooked by drivers. In fact, most drivers would consider them to be automatic, not really "techniques" as such and hardly worth mentioning. However, statistics tell a different story. These two major ingredients feature in a large proportion of accidents:
1. Inattention whilst driving
2. Trusting the other driver to do the right thing
Defensive Driving Technique #1: Pay Attention When Driving
Research shows that many accidents involve inattention from one or both drivers, and can be caused by a variety of factors. Daydreaming, sleepiness, distractions, chatting and "highway hypnosis" are common types of driver inattention.
Moving motor vehicles are dangerous projectiles hurtling forward with massive force, and the responsibility of a driver is to avoid using that force to injure or kill others. This is pretty difficult to achieve if drivers are not paying attention and completely focused on their driving.
A common "inattention" scenario is when collisions occur close to home. Research shows this often happens, and it is not hard to understand why. The closer we get to home, the more comfortable we feel and the easier it is to let our attention wander. When other drivers residing in the same area do the same thing, this effectively doubles the chance of an accident caused by "inattention". It is also easy to forget that serious or fatal injuries can occur in low speed collisions.
Getting Rid Of "Inattention"
How do you practice the defensive driving technique of "paying attention"? Have you ever driven somewhere and been so lost in thought that you were unable to recall the trip itself? One of the best ways to practice is trying to concentrate solely on the driving task. Put all other thoughts out of your mind, thinking of nothing else but your driving. Carefully observe how long it is before your mind starts to wander. You may be shocked at how quickly you start thinking of something else!
Combine your mind with your eyes, working at consciously analyzing your view while you drive. This defensive driving technique is called "situational awareness."
Remember this. Experienced drivers don't need to think about driving much. It is something that comes automatically, therefore leaving their minds free to wander – and wander they will!
Paying attention is like any other habit. You need to constantly reinforce the habit until it becomes automatic. Make regular choices NOT to adjust the CD player while driving, speak on the cell phone or whatever else it is that takes your attention away from driving.
Defensive Driving Technique #2: Trust Nobody But Yourself
A key to acquiring a good defensive driving technique is to never, ever rely on what the other driver will do. Recall for a moment the driving mistakes you've been guilty of over the years. Look ahead and imagine the ones you will probably make in the future. Guess what? All the other drivers are just the same! Don't trust anyone but yourself!
1.Be super wary of other drivers. Keep an eagle on them and leave yourself plenty of room to move. Try to anticipate and prepare for mistakes other drivers might make. When you are not paying attention to other drivers, you are effectively giving them control of your vehicle. You are at their mercy. This is without a doubt one of the most important defensive driving techniques you can embrace.
2.Is that driver worthy of your trust? Maybe some of those other drivers are returning from a boozy night out. Perhaps they just lost a job or suffered the tragic loss of a loved one. The other driver might be a 9-year-old out for a joy ride. Regard every other driver as an unpredictable menace out to get you. Most collisions occur when the "other guy" does something unexpected.
3.Anticipate other driver errors. Be wary when approaching red lights. A red light by itself never stopped anyone. Watch out for drivers preparing to pull out from beside the road. Other potential dangers include failure to signal a lane change, or tailgating someone when they are dawdling along looking to make a turn—a turn they suddenly WILL make at the last second. Be alert to all possibilities and be ready to deal with them.
Driving is the most dangerous thing that most of us ever do, and because of this, driving deserves your full attention. By mastering the defensive driving techniques of "paying attention" and "trusting nobody but yourself" and making them an unconscious habit, drivers can achieve 99% protection. Paying attention and being wary of other drivers makes it possible for you to be instantly aware of the hazards lurking on the road, almost before they are there.
Make no mistake about it. Of all the defensive driving techniques you could embrace, paying attention and being super aware of other drivers are the ones which will serve you best.

For many of us brands play an important part in our purchase behaviour as we get drawn in to buying products and services through a emotional tie to that brand and here we look at some of the reasons.
Brands are clever to tap in to our emotions though the use of advertising and marketing so lets look at some everyday brands we consume.
Since the recession which started back in 2008 many of us have had to make some tough decisions on whether to purchase a particular product or service by a brand we love or go for unbranded and pay less money as a way of tightening our purse strings.
If you take some of everyday actions that uses brands we love and trust like watching TV. Channels like Sky and the BBC are well trusted brands and that is why when we switch we are able to watch programs we know have been produced to a good standard. Another example is when we use the internet and go straight to Google as our default search engine. We know when using Google the search results are reliable and trusted and for this reason they remain one of our top loved brands.
If brands were not important then life would be dull. Brand give us an identity and make us individual and also proud to wear that brand. Some brands are more noticeable than others. For example anyone driving an Aston Martin is going to get noticed but someone else who might wear a Thomas Pink shirt might not be so obvious as they do not have huge badges on the front of them.
In the fashion world our love of brands will change as we age and our tastes move on. Many young people love having big brand logos placed on their clothes as it says something about them and their style. When we get older we like our brands but want to maintain a more discreet approach.
Marketeers are looking at all age groups. For example the younger children Disney brands like Toy Story and Hanna Montana have created huge success stories from TV shows and then feature films and combined with massive merchandise there are a huge range of products on offer which the kids and the parents buy in to spending millions on their favourite brands.
Watches are another area when we are likely to but the brand over the style of watch. Tag Heuer have sponsored lots of famous sporting and film stars to try and encourage us to purchase their products. So anyone who might be an avid fan of Lewis Hamilton might purchase a tag because he is one of their sporting ambassadors. Don't get me wrong Tag make lovely stylish watches but you get my point.
Lastly the iphone is another good example of our brand loyalty. Apple launched the new iphone4 which has had some mixed reviews but because of the brand has not put people off from buying the latest Apple smartphone!

One of the thing that amazes me is why people have the opportunity to make a positive difference to their lives but do not take the opportunity to improve themselves and keep themselves healthy and looking great. This ranges from obesity right through to having a whiter smile.
Some people might not know that services and products like just smile teeth whitening actually are available so cost effectively but with the power and accessibility of this is little excuse really as there is plenty of free information for everybody to research.
You will only need to brush your teeth to see the colour and condition of them and therefore why except dirty stained looking teeth when you can have a lovely whiter smile after teeth whitening.
Smiling is free but when the teeth get to a certain point people start to become self conscious and then stop to smile freely and this is such a shame because smiling has a real positive impact on your life and well being.
Teeth get stained after years of things like smoking, drinking tea and coffee and even cola will eventually darken the teeth as the staining will get in to the porous micro ducts of the enamel and will slowly change the colour over a period of time. As long as the staining has not penetrated the dentin then the teeth should whiten to a decent level and noticeable difference. The time the enamel is compromised is when there is years of heavy smoking and drinking tea as examples and will also depend on the enamel being overly porous as it cannot defend itself against the staining but luckily this happens very infrequently.
The methods of whitening include things like home whitening kits, bleaching pens, bleaching trays, laser and power whitening but to a lesser degree including whitening toothpastes and even whitening mouthwashes.
The type of whitening you select will depend on budget and how much effort you want to put in to whitening. For example power whitening will cost a little more but gives excellent results and requires no effort on your part! Plus the results are instant which for some people is well worth paying for.
One of the most important things to think about after having the teeth whitened is to keep it up and think of it as an ongoing activity. Like most things in our lives nothing lasts forever so re-whitening is something you need to consider whether that is regular usage of a home kit or pen or having the teeth re-whitened with the laser every 12 months just keep it going.
Beware though, having whiter teeth is no substitute for ensuring you have good dental healthcare and this means regular brushing and flossing as well as ensuring regular visits to the dentist as he will ensure the teeth and gums are very healthy.
So hopefully this piece would have helped you understand about getting a smile makeover and then keeping it looking great and healthy.

There are no shortage of advice on the latest diets. One way to lose a few pounds, or so a number of people think, is by not eating and although this is a way to lose a few unwanted pounds, it can have repercussions if carried out for extended periods and no doctor or dietician would ever recommend doing this. Professionals only insist that only healthy weight loss diets are recommended, given the fact that excesses tend to leave the body weaker and almost defenceless when facing illness as it lowers the immune system.

Here we look at bright tooth whitening and the methodology of how the teeth change colour and how they are lightened.
When we get older the teeth start to darken and get a yellowing sort of colour and this is because the teeth absorb staining in all the things we enjoy and are pretty impossible to avoid. Imagine not drinking coffee or enjoying the occasional curry and avoiding pasta sauces we that is what you would need to do to avoid the teeth changing colour.
The things listed above are some of the more obvious things but they are lots of not so obvious foods and drinks still doing staining damage. Things like tomatoes, herbal tea, raspberries and much more that we immediately do not think of high staining.
So without changing our lives to only drinking water, eating white bread or white meats like chicken etc then there is a solution to keep the teeth whiter in colour with bright tooth whitening.
How teeth whitening works is the teeth have porous qualities and are constantly absorbing and then releasing saliva plus foods and drink components is our mouth. Now over a period of time the teeth's pores get clogged with staining and this is what bright tooth whitening will look to change.
Now some people have incredibly deep stains in the teeth which have been accumulating over many years and for these people then repeated sessions of bright tooth whitening may be necessary. On a few occasions peoples teeth will get so heavily stained that the darkening actually affects the dentin which sits underneath the enamel. For these poor people then bright tooth whitening is too late but these fall in to the minority not the majority.
For so many tooth whitening actually has so many personal benefits which do include whiter teeth! These tend to be things like enhanced self confidence and self esteem and this has many intangible benefits and will range from person to person. When you meet someone with really white teeth it is often we associate wealth, health and confidence with that person and this is why bright tooth whitening is well worth investing your time in.
Going back to my previous point about the porous values of the tooth you will need to think about bright tooth whitening as an ongoing project opposed to just a quick one off treatment. This is because the teeth will eventually re-stain as the things that previous were creating the teeth to change colour you are likely to continue to consume and this is why we should look at bright tooth whitening as an ongoing pursuit and this will stop the yo-yo affect and keep the teeth white all year round.
When we talk about bright tooth whitening we are referring to the outcome or benefits of having white teeth and not the actual treatment as this can covered in other articles but for now I hope this has given you hope that the teeth can look marvelous and enjoy your new smile.

When you have moles in your garden or lawn area, you need the professionals to help you. Moles in the Garden Effective Pest Control will take care of the problem in a timely and efficient manner. Leave the worries to us while we get those furry critters off of your property. Through a variety of methods, we will remove moles and any other burrowing pests that may be part of your problem. It is best not to take on the problem on your own as you may not know what you are dealing with. In addition, do it yourself products are not fail-proof. You could invest a great deal of money in your own products without effectively ridding yourself of your mole problem. Many propose live traps. However, you will still need to have the animal removed from the premises. Choosing a professional service with experts will give you peace of mind and allow you to put your garden in order once again.
Moles are especially active in the spring and fall when there has been an extended period of rain. As they burrow underground, they wreak havoc on the root system in the garden and break through to the surface, causing disruption of the soil. They create feeding tunnels close to the surface, forming those unsightly ridges, and they dig deep to connect their feeding tunnels. As they burrow deeper, they make soil deposits on the lawn, a true nuisance. It makes the lawn and garden look bad, puts the plants at risk, and can be harmful to homeowners if they step in a hole with the potential for hurting themselves. Moles eat insects and worms; they are not herbivores. Should there be evidence of an animal chewing on the plants in the garden, then it is a different kind of pest. Our staff will assist in determining if moles are the problem and what direction to take next. They can mainly determine it is moles through the visual evidence, including mounds of dirt that are similar to a volcano, and if there has been gnawing or not.
Techniques vary in tackling the problem and Moles in the Garden Effective Pest Control has a host of solutions to the problem. Skilled and friendly staff will arrive at your home, assess the situation, determine the best path to take, and get down to business. Fumigation is one alternative in which a fumigant is released into the burrows that will hinder moles from hiding. Traps, poisons, and repellants are all tools at our disposal. The best time of year to contact us is in the early spring to take care of pregnant moles to reduce the population. However, we are available at any time you require assistance. Contact Moles in the Garden Effective Pest Control and rid yourself of critter headaches as soon as possible. Don't delay or waste time with your own efforts that may prove ineffective. Let us do our job so you can get back to enjoying home.

Generally to some degree the answer is yes but teeth are complicated and in this article we try and look at the things that underpin how white the teeth will whiten.
Going back to when you was younger somewhere between sixteen and twenty years of age the teeth would be at their genetic whitest colour as this is a good starting point to how white the teeth are likely end up after whitening.
Lifestyle will play a major part in how dark our teeth have become and this is due to things we eat and drink. Tea, coffee, red wine, curries, gravy, blackcurrant juice are just a few of the things but there are many and this list is not exhaustive. Good dental hygiene will also help to maintain whiter teeth but over a few years the colour will slip and this is where teeth whitening can be useful to restore the colour.
If the teeth have darkened very slowly and your genetic colour was very white then the likelihood is the teeth will whiten and you will see a nice smile and you will pleased with how the teeth look. For other people who have always had creamy coloured teeth as a child then whitening will remove staining to reveal the genetic creamy colouration of the teeth.
Sometimes if the teeth have darkened very quickly there can be something else that is creating this darkening of the teeth and this might include medications or even the tooth suffering from a trauma or a knock can change the colour but more often than not it is aging and lifestyle that gives us a yellowing glow to the teeth.
Some people will only even get a brightening after they have had teeth whitening because of the thing listed above and others will get a shade closer to a whiter or milky colour but they both might have had the same treatment.
Also we need to be patient in the time it takes to re-whiten our teeth as the change has developed over many years and having just one treatment is not likely to turn back this amount of time so you need to invest in a program that is ongoing to not only maintain the best results but also to keep getting the teeth whiter and whiter.
Some treatments will work better for some types of teeth than others. For example naturally deeper coloured teeth might be suited to an ongoing program with the whitening trays from the dentist which will deep bleach the teeth over a period of time making them whiter very gradually.
For lighter and more external type staining then a power whitening treatment may be a good idea as this will brighten the teeth with immediate results and because the gel does not go so deep in to the teeth reduces the chance of getting sensitivity which can be a bit painful. For best advice speak to the dentist and ensure you maintain regular visits to keep a good healthy smile as well as a whiter brighter one!

Sometimes in life we take for granted the basics and one of these is smiling. Its free and more often than not comes with many positive benefits so why not enhance your smile by investing in teeth whitening. This article is not about trying to sell you something but really trying to educate you on the available methods and systems for achieving your whiter smile.
The teeth will darken as we age and we simply cannot stop this from the happening as it is natures natural course for us all but like any cosmetic treatment you need to be committed in the long term as the teeth will continue to re-stain after having teeth whitening so please consider this fact.
Many articles are written about the safety of teeth whitening and there is much speculation about the safety of products and the strength of these products is acceptable but teeth whitening peroxides have been used for over twenty years in the dental profession with no known side effects or issues to the teeth and gums and like everything there will always be good and bad products.
When we talk about the options here is the list –
Toothpastes
By using a good quality paste particularly a gritty type will help keep the enamel in top shape and prevent the teeth from getting heavily stained. Sometimes it is not good to overuse these as they can be quite abrasive for the teeth.
Mouthwashes
A whitening mouthwash can be useful to have in the cupboard and be used to keep the teeth bright. They are never going to whiten the teeth in the same way as a dedicated whitening product because they are not on the teeth long enough to penetrate in to the enamel to whiten.
Trays
The trays are a cost effective and easy way to whiten the teeth but they have a couple of drawbacks. One of these is that they are not that comfortable to wear for an hour at ta time and the second reason is that after a few minutes saliva will dilute the gel and minimise the potential to whiten the teeth.
Strips
Crest are the biggest company offering this product and they have generally a good reputation for whitening the teeth. They do however take quite a while to work so don't use them once or twice and expect instant white teeth.
Bleaching trays
These work very well but you need to be disciplined and patient as they take fourteen days and you need to sleep in them overnight to get best results. These are typically only offered by dentists.
Laser or power whitening
This system is very quick way to whiten the teeth as the treatment time is around one hour to get best results. Uses a led or UV light to activate the gel and typically gives good results.
Summary
Dont compromise on smiling, its free! Research the best and most affordable option to whiten the teeth and keep it going otherwise the results will start to drop off.

Sometimes a question that gets asked a lot is what is the best age to start teeth whitening and am I too old to have whiter teeth. Here we try and answer these questions and help you shed some light on the subject. From a young age our teeth are bombarded with foods and drinks which will darken our teeth and these staining components exist in just about everything we place in to our mouth. This makes it very difficult to avoid the teeth from becoming yellow as we get older even with a sensible diet and good dental health and hygiene.
Teeth whitening will be useful for removing any staining from the tooth to help regain its colour and shine but if you have very creamy or yellow coloured tooth genetically then it is unlikely teeth whitening will make them white in colour but brighten them to their original colour.
Young people need to start whitening not before eighteen years old ideally because the tooth's pulp is developing and any younger you run the risk of damaging this important part of the tooth's structure. Also very young people are unlikely to have really stained teeth less than eighteen years old and therefore little point in investing in whitening to see little difference afterwards.
On the flip side when we age, not only with the tooth get stained but will darken with general aging process and again teeth whitening will not address this in any way. The teeth will brighten but not whiten and therefore expectations need to realistic on desired results.
Any improvement to the teeth's colour is always going to be a positive thing for our smile but when we think about teeth whitening we are thinking about extremes and for many people ending with this ultra glow in the dark white teeth in not going to happen! More likely is a brightening and changing the teeth to a milky white colour which looks refreshed and clean but not veneer bright white!
To date no studies have proven teeth whitening to be dangerous and therefore being sensible and doing something with the teeth little and often is the best approach to maintain a year round whiter clean smile. Treatments like zoom, power or laser whitening which take one hour to perform and offer instant results can be good for many people to enhance their smile and for deeper staining then the bleaching trays might be a better option. Very young people will be able to use a milder product like the whitening tray kits or the whitening strips made by crest as these are milder but need to be used regularly as a result to see any tangible results.
Older people might consider the bleaching trays as these will get deep in the dentin of the tooth and really make an improvement to the smile but either way ensure good dental health is not overlooked at is no substitute for having a whiter smile. Good luck in getting a new smile!

There is little doubt that a white smile is more attractive than one that shows yellow dark teeth especially if you are single and are looking for love and teeth whitening is a low cost way of helping to improve your smile and your love life.
The teeth get stained for everyone and is unavoidable and as the teeth darken they will help you lose the sparkle from the smile and this process speeds up when we get over the age of 30 years old.
Cosmetic enhancements are common practice in everyday life from botox to laser eye surgery to gastric bands most of which are readily available in most towns and cities. The desire to look and feel good is gets more and more appealing and exciting as new products and services arrive on the UK market. Laser teeth whitening is now one of the leading and most popular treatments available today. The treatment itself is fast, effective and delivers great results giving you that winning smile that you deserve.
If laser teeth whitening is not your preferred choice then you may want to look at the other options available these range from home kits available from your local pharmacy to whitening strips or professional whitening trays custom made from your dentist. On the other hand the far extreme method of getting whiter teeth would be to look at veneers.
The big plus point with the laser or light unit is that is offers a very fast way of whitening and will typically take one hour to perform the treatment with instant results. Compared to trays this will save over eighty hours and other than lying on the couch there is no work required. Trays you need to sleep in them overnight and this can effect the sleep and is not always straight forward like a faster method like laser.
Costs of these treatments are an important factor in your decision making. As these treatments are now becoming far more readily available and the cost is also now not a as steep as it once was. Teeth whitening used to only be available through your dentist which is very costly as this would nearly always involve the cost of a check up, hygienist and any other work needed on your teeth before the teeth whitening could commence. Now a days with many professional laser teeth whitening consultants or zoom teeth whitening consultants as they are also known as the costs are far more affordable. These companies work from therapy centers, shopping centers and beauty salons across the UK. Offering a first class professional service at a fraction of the cost that your dentist would charge.
With 'celebrity' still a wild culture across the world our desire to look our best is growing daily. Who doesn't want white teeth like Simon Cowell or Cheryl Cole. Who doesn't want to be slim and fit well we all do so starting the new year with a good fresh new positive image can open new doors in your personal and professional life.

As we age the smile gets darker and discolored and therefore in extreme cases will actually stop people from doing the very thing we should be doing more and that is smiling.
In this article we will try and help you understand about how the teeth get stained and how to get them white again and importantly keep them white.
Things that stain our teeth include the obvious things like tea, coffee, red wine, curries, blackcurrant and just about anything that contains colours and this is impossible really to avoid even things like tomatos and orange juice and therefore the teeth will darken.
Within the tooth we have micro pores and these ducts hold the staining in the form of calcium deposits which darken with age. In fact the change to the teeth should be so slow that it should be unseen until we meet a friend or see an old family picture which makes it apparent how our teeth have darkened and stained.
The good news is that teeth whitening will in most cases recover the teeth back to their natural colour and re-whiten the tooth's enamel. This process occurs is a very natural situation and really is the reversing of how the teeth actually get stained in the first place. The whitening gel will open the pores of the enamel and neutralize the staining within the tooth and once this process has finished the results are an improved smile.
If you are young enough and effectively caught the staining in time then you will be able to recover the teeth back to a much whiter condition. If the staining has penetrated the enamel to the dentin then the whitening method considered needs to a professional service like laser, zoom or power whitening or the bleaching trays offered by the dentists.
The light based whitening systems take around one hour and offer instant results once the treatment has finished and for many time conscious people this can be a great attraction to this method.
Tray whitening is slightly more complicated as you have to sleep in the trays overnight and this can cause problems to sleep patterns and also leaves a nasty taste in the mouth when awake.
Another challenge is whether the trays will give you sensitivity which can be quite painful but is only short term and then the teeth return back to normal. When using the trays and sensitivity happens then people tend to stop using them at a time when they are starting to whiten the teeth and this can a disappointment. Now this can still happen with the light based systems but because the treatment time takes one hour then you can generally live with the discomfort and with instant results it is normally worth it!
A smile is free and with a brighter new smile you are likely to attract more opportunities in to your life which can include work, social and even love life. Go one give yourself a smile makeover you deserve it!

Today we have the choices of more and more beauty treatments which are widely available across the country at affordable prices. This treatments range from Botox to teeth whitening. Teeth whitening was once only available from your dentist but now a days its more widely available from therapy centers and beauty salons. So what is teeth whitening all about?
Teeth whitening is broken down into two methods, you can look at having a one hour treatment with a laser teeth whitening or power whitening consultant this will give you instant results. This treatment can be followed up every six months with a ten minute top up to fresh your teeth or whiten them up even more. The other choice would be to use a teeth whitening tray. These trays need to be worn everyday or night for a period of at least a month in order to get good results. The problem being that you may start to whiten your teeth in the evenings but durning the day you will inevitably put a small amount of staining back on from either tobacco, food or drink. Therefore every evening you are playing catch up on the days staining. A combination of the two is also an option you could have a laser one hour treatment then use teeth whitening trays maybe once or twice a week.
Teeth whitening is an on going thing as our teeth will always be prone to staining from food, drink and lifestyle. It is by all means worth the effort as there is nothing more attractive than bright white teeth and smile. This can help you promote yourself as someone who cares about their appearance and respects they way they look. If you are going for an important interview or looking for a partner we always dress smartly and get our hair looking good so why not think about your smile which is the first thing we all look at.
Teeth whitening is a cosmetic treatment it is not dental surgery by any means. It should be pain free and fast. Sometimes people suffer and little sensitivity after the treatment but this doesn't last long. The journey to getting whiter teeth can start with what ever method suits you and your budget. You may want to research this on the internet to call into a therapy centre or clinic that offers the treatment and ask for their advice on the treatment.
Teeth whitening along with all the other fabulous beauty treatments available today is going in popularity rapidly across the UK. In the USA they have been readily available for years but at last we are starting to see these treatments available to the UK customer. Some of these beauty treatments are live changing for some people and they can help with skin conditions, weight loss, eye sight, whiter teeth, physical enhancements and changes. We all now have the professional help available to us that was once only available to the rich and famous.

So what is mobile teeth whitening well here we look at the detail and the different types of mobile teeth whitening that occurs currently.
When we think initially about teeth whitening we sometimes perceive this to be done at home or in the dentists chair but this is not always the case as many people understand the procedure is actually quite straight forward and therefore can be undertaken mobile.
The type of mobile teeth whitening is typically the laser or light based method as this will be finished in around an hour so it is perfectly safe to be done mobile as the light can be transported around with a couch or portable chair system and this does not detract from the end result which is whiter teeth.
When the teeth start to soak up the staining we begin to notice the change of colour and what is interesting is that it might be an old photo or school friend and suddenly we begin to feel more aware of the stained teeth and want them whitened. Teeth will darken with age and the stains start to stick in the pores of the enamel and this prevents the light from reflecting and also changes the colour to yellow.
Smokers are more prone to this as nicotine really increases the staining process and makes the teeth yellow in such a short period of time but help is at hand as teeth whitening performed slightly more regularly than usual will keep a smokers teeth looking white and clean.
Maybe a laser treatment followed by the regular use of a home kit will work well as this uses the kit to keep the staining at bay and prevents the build up of re-staining on the teeth.
Teeth are unique so there is no hard and fast rules but generally speaking if the teeth can be stained then they can be whitened and for some people going to a dentist or beauty salon is something that does not appeal to them and this is why mobile teeth whitening can be a really useful service. Some people have had a really bad experience at some in their life with their dentist so the prospect of having their teeth whitened by a dentist is not viable and the same goes for beauty salons. Men for example feel intimidated in those places so having their teeth laser whitened in there is just not going to happen.
The other place mobile teeth whitening is undertaken is in shopping malls. This is where you sit in front of passing shoppers having your teeth whitened. This is not everyone's cup of tea because on busy shopping days you are going to attractive many people who are amazed to see someone at a shopping centre with their mouth exposed having whitening but it does happen!
Whatever you feel comfortable with there is a treatment waiting for you and the benefits of having whiter teeth are well worth the investment in time and money.

Having your teeth whitened could make a considerable positive impact on your life as your self confidence grows and people you meet perceive your new white smile as attractive and friendly.
Sometimes in life we only look at the face value benefits of something and this includes teeth whitening. We want whiter teeth but do not always consider the other benefits that having whiter teeth could enhance our every day lives.
For example having whiter teeth makes us look more attractive so meeting someone in your love life is a real possibility. This is because when you yellow staining on the teeth you become less desirable to anyone you meet and therefore less likely to find that true love. A whiter smile makes your face light up and also makes you look younger.
Another example which we have briefly touched on in making you look younger. As we get older the teeth gather more staining which is accumulated over the years and as a result get yellow or even brownish in colour. Teeth whitening can make them look whiter and therefore this renewing of colour on the teeth makes you look younger. A simple thing like whitening can really make such a positive difference to the smile.
Business is another area that teeth whitening can help you. In business you need to influence people and having a great smile can make people warm to you and help build great business relationships. One of the typical traits of having yellow teeth is people do not smile as much and therefore reduce the impact when you meet someone new in business. Also in sales roles they say the smile sells, well you might as well get a white one as this will increase your commissions as the sales roll in!
When it comes to the actual treatment you really have three options- home kits or do it yourself kits, bleaching trays offered by your dentist or the laser whitening system. What system you go for will depend on two considerations. The first is money and how much you have and want to invest in getting a new smile and the second is time. How much time do you want to invest in whitening the teeth. With the home kits you will need to do this yourself at home for a period of a few weeks to start seeing the results but this is why this option is cheaper.
The other option is the laser system which is more expensive but only takes one hour to get a white smile. So if you have available budget and little time then laser is probably the best option for you and the results are instant so no waiting for a days to see the results.
Bleaching trays are similar they take much longer to work as the trays need to worn for a few hours every day for fourteen consecutive days for the teeth to start changing colour.
Always consult your dentist and keep regular appointments to maintain goo dental health.

Making this choice when there are so many products and services on the market is a difficult one but here we talk about the options in some detail.
In any selection of which tooth whitening method there is always going to some positive benefits for you and therefore do not panic about your decision as teeth whitening should be looked at as an ongoing activity because the fact the teeth are likely to re-stain in the future due to their high porous qualities and this is never going to change. Making this decision can happen very quickly for some people as something will happen which triggers something in their head to make them want to have whiter teeth. This can be meeting an old friend you have not seen for a while who has really white teeth or getting out photo books and remembering how white the teeth used to look!
So to make things a bit easier to understand we have categorized things in either DIY or at home products which are lower priced and then higher prices professional services as price will be one of the main selection factors for deciding which tooth whitening method you pick.
Lower priced teeth whitening systems
Mouthwashes
These whitening mouthwashes claim to whiten the teeth and to be honest if you use a mouthwash everyday then you have little to lose and try these to see if they work.
Toothpaste
Again like above they claim to brighten the teeth and changing to using these brands is not going to make a big deal but worth a try. Some of the more gritty pastes like pearl drops work well to remove external type stains.
Whitening strips
Made by crest and other companies can be a good product to use and used regularly you will see a nice change. Because of the strength of the gel used in the strips they are unlikely to remove the deep stains we get when we age so maybe a good starting point when adventuring on your new whitening journey.
Teeth whitening trays
These come with a tube of carbamide peroxide and two mouthguards you mould yourself and have a similar results to the strips. They need to be used regularly but quite good as long as the staining is lighter in the enamel. Again because of the cost well worth trying one and seeing if they work for you.
Higher priced Teeth whitening services
Bleaching trays
These are god to remove the heavier staining we accumulate in the teeth over a period of time. They use a strong hydrogen peroxide gel which can get deep in to the teeth. Need to be used for ten to fourteen days or nights depending on the strength of the gel offered by the dentist.
Laser teeth whitening
This system is powerful, effective, safe and takes around one hour to successfully whiten the teeth and has become popular because of these reasons. Also known as zoom and power whitening but essentially is the same thing with different names.
