Article Title: Why You Should Choose Pepper Spray Over a Lethal Weapon

There are many choices for self defense, including pepper spray, stun guns, knives, or guns. There are many excellent reasons for choosing pepper spray for your self defense needs. Pepper spray is an effective yet safe way to stun your attacker, enabling you to get away. Plus, it is easy to carry and use, and requires no special training.

Many people believe that pepper spray will not be effective enough, but this is far from the case. Imagine spraying water in your attacker's face. This will stun them for at least a second. Pepper spray, of course, is much stronger than water, because it contains a potent inflammatory that causes temporary blindness and constricted breathing.

Unlike most other self defense weapons, pepper spray will not harm your attacker in the long run, which can make it a good option for those who do not wish to inflict serious bodily harm even if the person is attacking them. The effects can last up to 45 minutes, giving you plenty of time to get away. Yet there is no risk of long-term harm like there would be with a knife or gun. You must be comfortable with your self defense choice, because carrying a gun, knife, or other item does no good if you are afraid to use it should the time come.

The pepper spray has a distance of over 6 feet, so you don't need to be within arms reach of your attacker to use it. In fact, some are effective at distances of up to 15 feet. Usually, the larger cans of pepper spray have a longer range. In a situation where you are being attacked, it can be very dangerous to let the attacker approach you to arms length before defending yourself, and pepper spray allows you to fight back before the attacker comes too close.

It requires no skill to successfully use the spray against an attacker. Just turn the safety latch off, point it at the attacker, and press the button. The stream will shoot six to eight feet out, catching your attacker off guard and allowing you time to flee. Unlike other self-defense methods, you do not need to be terribly accurate; even if you are trained to fight or to use a gun or knife, you may not be able to remember your training in an emergency situation.

When carrying pepper spray, you are much less likely to be asked questions than if carrying a weapon. Pepper spray is used often for self-defense, and comes in convenient keychain-sized containers. In most locations, it is completely legal to walk around with pepper spray for self-defense purposes, although you'll of course want to check with your local jurisdiction first. It can be carried around day-to-day without anyone questioning why it is in your purse or pocket. Some even come disguised as lipstick containers or pens, which can make you even more comfortable carrying pepper spray with you.

Pepper spray is one of the most inexpensive ways to protect yourself. And of course, it is better to spend a few dollars today than to wish you had pepper spray at some time in the future. Even if you have not considered purchasing a device for self defense, pepper spray makes a wise investment for your safety.

In modern times, you can never be too careful when planning for your own safety. The unfortunate reality is that you could be attacked at any time, anywhere. You must be prepared for this possibility by carrying a self defense device that enables you to fight back against any would-be attacker to escape unharmed. One of the newest ways to protect yourself is with a flashlight stun gun.

This handy device combines the stopping power of a stun gun with a powerful LED light. The light feature enables you to see anything around you. Not only can you use it like a flashlight, but it is also designed to be shined directly into your attacker's eyes. The LED light is so bright that it will have a temporarily blinding and disorienting effect.

The strong flashlight beam can be particularly helpful both for lighting your way and for alerting others to your presence. Do you hear strange noises from the bushes along the sidewalk? Aim your flashlight at them to find out what's going on. If it turns out that a threat is hiding there, you can use the stun gun to protect yourself. The flashlight aspect can help you identify your assailant; having a flashlight turned on them will make many potential attackers turn and run for fear of being spotted or identified. Most stun gun flashlights also have a built-in high decibel audible alarm to draw even more attention to your predicament. With 80,000 to 200,000 volts, an LED light, and a 130db alarm, your stun gun flashlight can help you stop any potential attacker.

Stun guns are frequently used by law enforcement, security officials, and private citizens. These very effective devices are easy to use, even with no training. The stun gun uses electricity to disable the assailant. Just turn the device on, sending a visible and audible crackle of electricity across the two prongs. Then, place these prongs against your attacker's skin to send this electricity through him, completing the circuit. Your attacker will lose the ability to control his muscles, falling to the ground. For up to half an hour, your attacker will be literally unable to move a muscle or fight you. While this device immobilizes attackers for minutes, giving you plenty of time to escape, it is not lethal and should not cause any long-lasting effects. Stun guns are considered one of the best non-lethal self defense products available today, and have proven their effectiveness again and again.

Stun gun flashlights are a particularly good choice for those who spend time in the dark alone, such as those who walk home at night. Keep one in the car for nighttime emergencies; many criminals prey on those who are having car troubles, especially late at night. Anywhere you would keep a flashlight or a self defense product, keep a stun gun flashlight. This unique product combines an LED flashlight with a powerful stun gun for the best of both worlds without having to carry two separate devices.

Wildfire pepper sprays are some of the hottest made, containing an 18% concentration of oleoresin capsicum, the chemical that makes peppers so hot. The concentration of oleoresin capsicum affects its Scoville Heat Unit rating, which is a measurement of just how much the pepper spray will burn. This chemical has a rating of 3 million Scoville heat units (SHU), compared to around 300,000 to 500,000 for the hottest habanero pepper. Most other pepper sprays are rated at around 2 million SHU. Because Wildfire sprays use only the hottest cayenne peppers to derive the chemicals for the spray, this pepper spray is unbelievably hot.

Wildfire pepper spray is one of only a handful of defense spray formulations with a concentration above 10 percent. Although conventional wisdom holds that pepper sprays over ten percent are unable to be propelled out of the can, new technology is allowing hotter and hotter pepper sprays. Because of its high concentration of oleoresin capsicum, Wildfire sprays react nearly instantaneously on the skin and with the mucous membranes, stopping the attack quickly.

The Wildfire pepper spray is well known for being easy to use and effective. As soon as you press the button, the pepper spray will come shooting out at your attacker. Its eighteen percent OC concentration makes it one of the strongest pepper sprays ever marketed. A quick blast from the canister will disable any attacker for up to 45 minutes, giving you plenty of time to escape the situation. Wildfire pepper sprays also incorporate dye to mark your attacker, making it easier for police to make a positive identification.

A blast of Wildfire pepper spray will take any attacker down quickly. It simply isn't possible to fight the effects of this strong spray, which include temporary blindness, coughing, and pain. This incredibly powerful spray is certainly something you do not want to get hit with. There's a reason why Wildfire pepper spray is also popular with law enforcement agencies around the world – it really works.

Wildfire pepper spray comes in five sizes, from half an ounce to a full pound of pepper spray. The smallest keychain can be taken with you everywhere you go, while the largest Wildfire pepper spray canister is an ideal choice for protecting your family against burglars and home invasions. The wide range of sizes means there's bound to be one that is perfect for your needs, no matter what situation you may encounter. Keep Wildfire pepper spray in your handbag or pocket, attached to your keychain, in your car or RV, or in your home – anywhere you might need to protect yourself. The larger sizes, which are also designed for use by police, come in two different styles: one with a handle like that found on a fire extinguisher, and other with a pistol-type handle. Both are easy to use even if you have no training or experience.

It is always important to check your state and local laws before purchasing pepper spray. This is particularly true with Wildfire pepper spray because of its high OC concentration. Michigan and Wisconsin, for example, have both placed limits on the maximum concentration of pepper spray.

    *********************** ARTICLE START ***********************

If you've taken self defense training classes, then you probably know that there is a difference between the strategies you've learned and practiced in class and a real fight or self defense situation. There is also a big difference between the staged fights you see in movies and what actually goes on if you are attacked. Take a look at your assumptions before you are caught in the position of having to fight back against an assailant using unrealistic tactics. There are three main differences between the types of fights you'll be engaging in during martial arts instructions and what you're likely to find in a situation where you are truly defending yourself against an attacker.

In both movies and martial arts classes, fights are pre-staged. This is an essential difference between what you see and what could happen in a real-life scenario. The moves are memorized step by step, with no room for variations or decision-making under pressure. If all of your training has been the memorization of specific moves, then you have not developed the critical skills required to fight back when you are actually being attacked. Your assailant will not move in ways that are easily predictable even if you have a martial arts background. A self defense situation will be chaotic and stressful, and your memorized moves won't fit into your response in this situation.

Self defense training tends to coddle trainees. In a practice fight, your attacker won't be coming at you with a knife or gun, and may not even be coming at you full force. In a real situation, you can't expect your attacker to back off for any reason, even if you have already given up your wallet and cell phone and are on the ground. You must use everything you have to fight back if you want to escape a dangerous situation.

Pre-staged fights are emotionally sterile. You know what to expect and that the fight is coming. Even if you're nervous before a martial arts competition, it could never compare to the nerves you will be facing if you are ever attacked. The reality is that you never have time in advance to prepare before you are attacked. Your heart will be racing and you may panic, forgetting everything you've learned. An attack is one of the most emotional situations you could ever find yourself in.

Even though self defense training might not realistically replicate a self defense situation, this doesn't mean that the training is not valuable. When you are attacked, confidence is key. If you plan to undergo martial arts training as part of your personal defense strategy, make sure that it focuses on real-life scenarios, not step-by-step moves. In addition to martial arts moves, you should always make a secondary plan to protect yourself. Have pepper spray or a stun gun, for example. Remember that the "bad guy" will often come armed, and your martial arts moves will be no match for his preparations. If you really want to survive a real-life attack, martial arts training alone may not be enough.

    *********************** ARTICLE START ***********************

Although many people associate home invasions with urban or suburban homes, you may also fall victim to a burglar if you live in a rural environment. In fact, rural homes are often more vulnerable to such attacks because there is a reduced chance of any neighbors catching the criminals in the act. Often, rural homes lack adequate security measures, making them attractive targets for burglars and other criminals. One of the downsides of living in a rural area is that you are often further from police stations and other people who could help you in case of an emergency. The distance between neighbors and towns means that you will need to be completely responsible for your own security. Although there are many rewards for trading the grind of city life for a secluded and simplified lifestyle, it does require you to think about your family's security in new ways.

If you live in a rural home, be sure to take adequate security precautions so that you are able to stop any potential attack. Always lock your doors and windows when you leave, even if there is no one else around for miles. Lock up everything on your property, even large farm equipment and tools. Otherwise, you're not only leaving these items susceptible to theft, but you also run the risk of your own tools being used to break into your home. Consider investing in better locks to make it harder for someone to break in. Regular door and window alarms, although very loud, may not be enough to scare away burglars who know there is no one else around to hear them. Unlike urban environments, where a loud beeping alarm may be enough of a deterrent to stop criminals from entering, many criminals will realize that your home is not well protected when an audible alarm is the only security measure you have.

Motion-activated cameras and lights make a particularly good choice for protecting the exterior of rural homes. If the light or camera turns on, you can stay inside the home to watch the activity through the camera. Not only should you make sure that the exterior of your home is well lit, with secure doors and windows, but you should also arm yourself with devices that enable you to fight back against would-be burglars. A one-pound canister of pepper spray by the door, for example, enables you to incapacitate unwelcome visitors. Delayed law enforcement response in rural areas means that it may be necessary for you to protect your family while waiting for the police to arrive.

No matter the environment in which you live, now is the time to take your own security seriously. Too many home invasions happen because homeowners leave themselves vulnerable to the possibility. By installing just a few security devices around the home, including alarms and cameras, you can drastically reduce the chances that a burglar will target your home. If the unfortunate should happen, you will also be better prepared to deal with it after purchasing self defense devices to help you fight back against any assailant.

Many people become particularly concerned with their personal safety when they are planning a trip overseas. How do you keep yourself safe in an area where you don't speak the local language or understand the local customs? How can you make sure you won't be taken advantage of while traveling? Many travelers consider pepper spray an effective option for personal protection while away from home.

While this is a very popular method of self defense here in the United States, you may worry that you'll be stopped by airport security if you try to take your pepper spray with you onto the plane. Although your fears are certainly for good reason, as airline restrictions do place limitations on what you can bring on the plane with you, with proper planning you should be able to bring pepper spray to most destinations.

In most areas of the United States, pepper spray is legal to carry and use for personal protection. However, transporting pepper spray over state lines can be a little tricky if you are traveling by plane. This can become even more difficult if you plan to travel out of the country with pepper spray, though it's certainly not impossible.

Your first step is to find out the local laws regarding pepper spray at your destination. There may be specific limitations on the carrying of pepper spray in specific states or cities, or even into particular types of locations. If you cannot legally carry pepper spray at your destination, don't bother packing it. It's also important to make sure that the pepper spray canister you plan to bring meets all local regulations. Some areas restrict the pepper spray canister size or ingredients.

When traveling by air, there are restrictions on traveling with disabling chemicals or devices. There are specific rules stating that pepper spray cannot be carried on your person or in your carryon luggage while on the plane. However, your checked baggage can include pepper spray canisters up to four ounces in size. Most pepper spray canisters designed to be carried on a keychain or in a pocket or purse come in under this limit, so this should not be a problem. However, larger canisters such as those designed for home use tend to be too large to legally pack in your suitcase.

When traveling with pepper spray, even with canisters under the 4 ounce limit, be sure to tell the airline that you have the canister when you check in your luggage at the baggage counter. They are legally required to inspect the canister to make sure that there is a locking device. Otherwise, your pepper spray could accidentally discharge while inside your suitcase in the plane. Be sure to keep the pepper spray canister in a convenient location before checking your baggage so that you don't have to dig through your suitcase at the counter.

Do not try to conceal a canister of pepper spray in your purse or pocket. Even if it's small enough to do so, remember that you will need to pass through a metal detector prior to boarding the plane. Always alert the airline if you have packed pepper spray into your bag. If you try to get through security with pepper spray in your luggage, it will probably be confiscated.

    *********************** ARTICLE START ***********************

Just how likely are you to become a victim of crime? It is believed that crime is increasing in many cities across the United States. Most of the country's large cities, from New Orleans to Los Angeles and everywhere in between, have disturbingly high numbers of violent crime (which include murder, rape, and assault) as well as property crimes such a thefts, burglaries, and break-ins. Living in today's world, it's no wonder why so many people have chosen to protect their homes, themselves, and their families with security systems, stun guns, pepper spray, personal alarms, and a whole host of other devices designed to give you peace of mind and help you thwart an attack.

What do the statistics show about the level of crime in the United States? Last year, there was a violent crime every 22.8 seconds, and an aggravated assault every 37.8 seconds. No matter your gender, age, or location, it is critical that you protect yourself before you become part of these statistics.

There were almost five million acts of violence with female victims reported in the United States last year. Three quarters of these women were attacked when alone, and half were attacked by multiple assailants. Thirty percent of female victims of violence were attacked by someone they knew well. There are more than half a million rapes reported in the United States each year. These statistics underscore the need for women, especially, to protect themselves. Carry pepper spray in your handbag everywhere you go. A stun gun shaped like a cell phone or pepper spray disguised to look like a pen can be great choices, especially when you consider that many of these crimes are perpetrated by attackers who know their victim.

According to the FBI, there are more than seventeen million property crimes such as burglary in the United States each year, including a burglary every twelve seconds and a violent robbery every 70 seconds. The average dollar loss per home invasion is about $1,725 to $2,000, and by far houses are the biggest target for break-ins. Clearly, property crimes are a huge problem in the United States. When you consider the danger your home is in, as well as how much property you are risking by leaving it unprotected, it makes sense to protect your home with alarms, security cameras, and other devices.

Much can be learned from the method of entry for most home burglaries. About two thirds of residential burglaries occurred during daylight hours, while many people mistakenly believe that their home is at greater risk at night. A third of all home invasions happen right through the front door, while another quarter enter through a first floor window, and nearly all of the rest enter through the back door or garage. In nearly all cases, any alarms or other security systems on the home were not turned on or armed at the time of the burglary.

Historically speaking, property crime tends to increase when the economy is not doing well. Since we are currently in a recession, it is all the more important to protect yourself, your home, and your family.

Have you ever felt insecure or threatened when walking alone on the street? What about walking across your college campus in the middle of the night? Who hasn't felt the distinct possibility of becoming a victim of crime at one point or another? It is easy to feel helpless and vulnerable, but it doesn't have to be this way. The best way to respond to this feeling is to carry a non-lethal self defense weapon so that you are prepared to fight back. In addition to offering you an effective way to protect yourself, there are a number of reasons why non-lethal products like pepper spray, stun guns, or TASER devices make a much better choice than arming yourself with a gun.

First, the cost of any of these devices is much lower than the cost of any handgun. A quality handgun can set you back hundreds or even thousands of dollars, while even the most stun gun or TASER device won't be much more than a hundred, if at all. Also consider the cost of ammunition if you choose to go the handgun route. Nonlethal self defense devices are simply the most cost effective method of making sure that you can get yourself out of a potentially violent situation.

Most states require licensing and permits, and have other restrictions on carrying lethal weapons. In most cases, however, pepper spray and other non-lethal devices fall under less stringent requirements. Although you may need a permit or training class, it is generally much easier to carry pepper spray, a stun gun, or a TASER device in your handbag than a gun.

Not only will you not be required to undergo training to carry pepper spray and stun guns, but you won't need it. Both of these devices are surprisingly easy to use. For the most part, simply aim and discharge. If you can use a spray can of paint, you can use either of these devices. Their ease of use is one of the main reasons why they are such popular devices for self defense. You don't have to worry about how to actually use them if you find yourself in a self defense situation, unlike a handgun – is it loaded properly? Is it ready to shoot? How do I aim it? Nonlethal self defense products are designed to be user friendly.

Non-lethal devices are also more convenient. You don't have to worry about the disastrous consequences of accidental discharge, nor are there rules against their concealment. You needn't worry about the consequences of the attacker using your self defense device against you, nor must you be concerned about the possibility of killing someone. Stun guns and pepper spray are effective self defense tools that keep he owner safe while also limiting your liability.

Most of your nonlethal self defense options are much smaller than a handgun. In fact, pepper spray can be found in keychain canisters, while stun guns come in sizes as small as a cell phone. These will fit nicely into a pocket or even the smallest purse, where you'll be able to get to them quickly when you need them.

As you can see, there are many advantages to carrying a personal self defense weapon such as a stun gun or pepper spray over a traditional handgun. When it comes to your safety and security, don't be caught unprepared. Arm yourself with an affordable and easy to use nonlethal means of self defense today.

Pepper spray is one of the most popular self defense products. Simple to use, affordable, and easy to carry with you, pepper spray is very effective at stopping any potential assailant. If you're evaluating your self defense options, pepper spray is likely at the top of your list. Pepper spray makes a great choice for nearly everyone wanting to protect themselves from a potentially violent situation. Here are the answers to the questions everyone's asking about pepper spray:

Who uses pepper spray? - It's not just for mail carriers and police officers anymore! It has been used in a wide range of environments to control dangerous situations for decades. Today, pepper spray is used by everyone from hunters who are at risk of attack by wild animals to suburban families who want to be safe shopping at the mall. It is popular for people who are uncomfortable using force to defend themselves. Pepper spray can be used to stop attacks by people or animals in any situation, at any time, which makes it a great choice for everyone to carry.

What types of canisters are available? - Pepper spray is available in everything from small keychains or even pepper spray rings or pens, all the way up to a large canister designed to stop burglars during home invasions. Small canisters can be kept in a purse or pocket, while disguised pepper spray pens are great for keeping out in the open. When choosing pepper spray, make sure that you choose one that you're likely to carry with you. Remember, self defense products only work if you have them on you when you are attacked.

How does pepper spray work? - When faced with a dangerous situation, just aim the pepper spray canister at the attacker and press the button. It's as easy to use as a can of spray paint, and your would-be attacker will be hit in the face with a spray containing a high concentration of the same chemical that is found in hot peppers. Pepper spray is easy to aim, and once it hits your attacker's face, it causes itchy, watery eyes, difficulty breathing, and a range of other symptoms that will make the attack stop instantly.

Is pepper spray legal? - Pepper spray is legal almost anywhere in the world. However, there are some countries, states and cities that have rules restricting the carrying or use of pepper spray. You may need a permit or class before you can legally carry pepper spray in your handbag or use it in a self defense situation. If in doubt, contact your local law enforcement agency to be sure that pepper spray is legal before you purchase it.

Is it possible to get sprayed by your own pepper spray? - Pepper spray canisters have a safety latch so that they cannot be sprayed accidentally. Plus, modern pepper spray formulations are released in a steady and easily aimed spray, making it highly unlikely that the user or any innocent bystanders will be hit by the spray.

Stun guns are quite possibly the most effective nonlethal device available today for self defense. The days of bulky stun guns that won't fit in your handbag are over. In recent years, stun guns have become smaller and smaller, along with becoming more powerful and even easier to use. Today's stun guns have all of the features and power built into earlier models in a much smaller package. Most are only about the size of a cell phone, with 300,000 to 1,000,000 volts or even more. Now, you don't have to choose between a bulky but powerful device and a tiny but less effective stun gun. Here are a few of the most popular mini stun guns on the market today:

The Stun Master Hot Shot packs a 975,000 volt punch in a package measuring just three inches tall. It can easily be carried in a purse or pocket, and also comes with a detachable belt clip. It is designed to look like a Blackberry or other handheld mobile device. A short blast from the Stun Master stun gun will disable any attacker. The unique design with a red light will tell you when it's ready to be unleashed on your attacker. A 1/4 second blast will startle an attacker, while one to four seconds will cause your attacker to fall to the ground. The full five second charge will immobilize an attacker, leaving them weak and dazed for minutes.

The Runt comes in three different versions, with 350,000 , 650,000, and 950,000 volts. Each comes with three lithium batteries; the 950,000 volt model is also available with a built-in recharger.

Each model of the Runt measures just three and a half inches long, two inches wide, and an inch thick, easy to conceal anywhere. Its nylon belt loop holster makes it easy to take your stun gun everywhere with you by wearing it like a pager. No matter which version you choose, The Runt has more than enough power to bring any assailant to his knees.

The Small Fry is one of the smallest available stun guns. In fact, it could actually be concealed inside a pack of cigarettes. It comes in three sizes, 400,000 volts, 700,000 volts, and one million volts. The unique design of the Small Fry includes a bright LED light, which can help you aim in the dark. When shined directly into your attacker's eyes, the LED light can also have a temporarily blinding effect.

While these mini stun guns are about the size of a cell phone, there are also disguised stun guns designed to look exactly like a cell phone. Self defense weapons disguised to look like everyday objects are very popular. A cellphone stun gun can give you the element of surprise. Not only are they the right size and shape to look like a cell phone from afar, but they even have buttons and screen graphics, just like a real phone. Cell phone stun guns usually pack 900,000 to 950,000 volts and come with holsters and cases that look just like those you would see on a real cell phone.

When it comes to pepper spray, most people assume that all of the available canisters are the same. Sure, they vary in size and shape, but don't most pepper sprays contain the same ingredients? If you're considering pepper spray as your self defense product of choice, it's important to learn the differences between the different pepper spray types so that you can make an informed decision. In addition to the size of the canister, you'll also need to consider the type of spray inside the container.

Most pepper sprays contain a formulation based on oleoresin capsicum, the active ingredient that makes hot peppers so hot. The pepper spray is much hotter than even the hottest peppers. This chemical is suspended in water or oil, which enables it to be sprayed from an aerosol spray can. Most pepper sprays contain a formulation of one to ten percent OC, although some of the most effective Mace sprays contain up to ten or even eighteen percent.

Not all pepper spray formulations come out of the canister in the same way, even if they contain the same percentage of oleoresin capsicum. There are several options when it comes to how the pepper spray is propelled towards the attacker. Know how pepper spray canisters work before choosing a canister. There are three basic types of dispersal methods: fogger, foam, and forced cone. Although the different manners in which the spray is released from the canister may seem trivial, it actually can make a difference in how easily it can be used in a self defense situation.

Forced cone pepper spray releases a fine spray that can usually reach distances of between eight and twelve feet. However, the fine spray is not dispersed across a wide area, so you should be confident in your ability to aim accurately.

Foam is another popular type of pepper spray. It is a thicker spray that will not be as easily blown around by the wind, making it a good choice for outdoor applications. Foam also makes a sticky mess, and in many cases the attacker will try to wipe it away from their face, actually making it more effective.

Fogger style pepper spray is most effective in situations with more than one attacker. It is often recommended that fogger spays are used by spraying the canister from side to side to spread the pepper spray, which comes out in a super-fine mist or fog. It does not require such accurate aim, as the pepper spray will spread quickly.

Make sure that you understand how your chosen spray works so that you can develop a strategy for using it in a real-life situation. Although you can't practice with real pepper spray, you can have a plan in mind for how you would use it to protect yourself. Even though pepper spray is as easy to use as a can of spray paint, it will be most effective if you understand how the pepper spray will come out of the can when you press the button.

    *********************** ARTICLE START ***********************

When it comes to self defense, the truth is that you will rarely be attacked by someone who is smaller or weaker than you are. In any sort of fight, it is generally agreed that the bigger person has the advantage. In a self defense situation, your attacker also has the element of surprise. They have come prepared for the situation, while you are caught off guard and mentally unprepared. They have chosen a target – you – who they feel reasonably confident they will be able to subdue. Do you want to be able to defend yourself against a bigger, stronger attacker?

No matter your size, in a self defense situation you must do everything you can to be able to defend yourself against an attacker who has come prepared for the fight. You must make size less of an issue. Even if you can't physically fight back against their strength or size, there are plenty of other methods you can use. Size is no longer an advantage to them when you pull out a stun gun, TASER device, or pepper spray canister. These devices will take down even the strongest or biggest assailant. It simply is not possible to fight against their effects, no matter how much bodily strength your attacker may have.

Most attackers are looking for an easy target. You might look like an easy target if you're relatively small, but carrying a self defense weapon can make you a much more difficult target. If a would-be assailant sees that you're prepared to defend yourself, they will go look for an easier target who won't be able to fight back against their brute strength.

It is true that when physically fighting against an attacker, you will probably lose. Unarmed self defense is made more difficult if your attacker has size or strength on his side, or if he has come armed. However, there are things you can do to escape a dangerous situation where you are being attacked by someone who is physically stronger than you. Women and the elderly, especially, often find that carrying pepper spray allows them to feel secure knowing they could defend themselves even against a large male attacker.

If you believe that your size or strength will be an issue if you are ever attacked, you may also want to learn some martial arts moves. Although these will not be as instantly effective as pepper spray, they can give you the confidence you need to get out of a dangerous situation. Figuring out the most vulnerable parts of the body can help you target your attack. Many of these methods are just as devastating when used against a big guy than when used against someone smaller or weaker. Although martial arts moves are usually not recommended as a dependable method of self defense, they can help you feel prepared to fight back.

It is also essential to arm yourself with pepper spray, stun guns, TASER devices, and other self defense devices that do not rely on size or strength, thereby taking away this advantage from the assailant. You don't need to be strong to get away from a scary and dangerous attack. In this situation, your life could depend on being prepared to fight back with pepper spray or a stun gun.

With crime on the rise, many people are looking for a way to defend themselves without resorting to carrying a gun. This is one of the main reasons why so many people are turning to pepper spray. When aimed at an attacker, a shot of pepper spray will cause burning, watery eyes, difficulty breathing, and a range of other symptoms to effectively take your attacker down, giving you time to escape the situation. Pepper spray can be purchased in a range of different formulations and sizes, from a keychain canister of pepper spray to a type of defense spray designed to be used against attacking animals. As you can see, there are many benefits to carrying pepper spray.

When purchasing pepper spray online, compare the concentration of Oleoresin Capsicum, the active ingredient in pepper spray. A chemical derived from hot peppers, it is usually available and effective in concentrations between 1 and 5 percent, although other formulations include up to eighteen percent concentrations of OC. For example, Mace makes pepper sprays with a ten percent OC concentration that are known to be extremely effective against any would-be attacker.

Another consideration is the size of the canister. Pepper spray comes in a wide range, from a keychain containing 3 bursts of pepper spray for use against a mugger to a large canister suitable for placing inside the front door of your home to protect yourself against a home invasion or burglary. Pepper spray canisters often feature a range of functions, from a safety latch to prevent accidental discharge, to belt loops or holsters to make it easy for you to take pepper spray with you.

It's also important to remember that your state may have laws regarding pepper spray. Even though you can purchase it online, you may need a permit or a training class in order to carry a canister of pepper spray. Many areas, however, have no restrictions on concealing or carrying pepper spray. It's important to know the laws that apply to you before you purchase pepper spray. If in doubt, contact your local law enforcement agency via their non-emergency number to ask about the applicable rules for purchasing and carrying pepper spray.

Depending on your state and local laws, you may be able to purchase pepper spray through a retail outlet. More and more people are also turning to the internet to find a wide range of pepper spray formulations. Even in states where carrying self defense products is completely unrestricted, few local stores offer an impressive range of such devices, making the internet a great place to find exactly the right self defense product for your situation.

Self defense products like stun guns, pepper sprays, and personal alarms have become increasingly popular over the past few years, not only with law enforcement agencies but also for private citizens. Starting at less than $10, pepper spray is an economical way to protect yourself and bring you a little peace of mind in today's dangerous world. They are an affordable and easy-to-use method of protecting yourself from any dangerous situation. The internet offers you the best selection of these products, with a wide range of features for any situation.

Article Title: Understanding Fight or Flight - Your Body's Natural Response to Attacks

    *********************** ARTICLE START ***********************

If you are attacked, no matter the situation, you will experience what some people have termed "combat stress." Your natural flight or fight tendencies will kick in, no matter how prepared you are. However, expecting this natural response allows you to deal with it, and can mean the difference between life and death.

When you are attacked, your adrenaline will increase. The signs of an adrenaline rush include slight trembling and increased heart rate. Many people who are attacked report becoming "frozen" and unable to move or fight back. Others have a burst of energy. By harnessing the physical side-effects of your natural fear, you can actually strengthen your defense, increasing your chance of escaping unharmed. It is all a matter of how you deal with your body's reactions to fear and adrenaline.

Too many people don't consider how they will act if they are being attacked. You might assume that this will never happen to you, but unfortunately, it may. If this does occur, you need a plan to fight back. You can't stand there thinking about what your next move will be. For one, your heart will be racing and you probably won't be able to think clearly. For another, every second counts in a self defense situation. The longer you take to react, the worse your chance of escape may become.

When someone attacks you, you will inevitably be terrified, no matter how much training you have had. The difference is that knowing how to fight back allows you to get out of the situation even when you feel terrified. Too many people think that they will be able to hit or kick their way away from an attacker, but instead they might be frozen in place and shaking too bad to fight back. Instead, carry pepper spray or a stun gun with you. These are so easy to use that you won't have to think about it in the moment, and the physical signs of stress won't make you unable to fight back.

Before you get yourself into these situations, know what to expect from your body. Your body is surprisingly efficient when fighting against threats, with a quick and automatic response. The body focuses its energy on short-term survival, with a surge of adrenaline in your blood stream to help you focus on the immediate threat. Blood pressure increases and breathing becomes faster, preparing your muscles for action. The muscles in your extremities may start to shake. You may become instantly energetic, or you may feel stuck in place. Your palms will become sweaty, and your pupils dilated. The body's natural painkillers, endorphins, are released to dull any pain that occurs as a result of the attack.

Although your mind focuses on the immediate attack, you'll also be very scared, and may not be able to think clearly about what to do. This is where a plan is necessary. If you have no plan and aren't carrying any self defense devices, what will you do? More than likely, you won't do anything to stop the attack. Instead, have a clear plan to use a self defense device, fighting back to free yourself from the grasp of your attacker.

If you're looking for an effective and easy to use method for protecting yourself against violent crimes, consider a TASER device. The TASER X26C is one of the newest TASER models to hit the market, and it is one of the most efficient ways of stopping any attacker. In fact, it is based on the TASER X26 model, long used by long enforcement for stopping dangerous criminals in their tracks. The law enforcement version, the X26, is currently used by more than 11,000 law enforcement officers all over the world. Since 1994, over 100,000 TASER devices have been sold to private citizens. Now that the X26C is available to civilians, you can take advantage of the very same technology.

The TASER X26C is known as an Electronic Control Device. Simply aim your TASER device at the attacker and fire it; two wires with metal probes are propelled from the device to the attacker. The probes on the TASER X26C can penetrate up to two inches of clothing to complete an electrical circuit. When used on an attacker, these probes deliver a 10, 20, or 30 second burst of energy which interrupts signals from the brain to the muscles. This is a nonlethal method of making your attacker completely unable to keep attacking you. It is effective up to fifteen feet away from the target. More than 95 percent of attackers are instantly disabled using the TASER X26C. A powerful TASER device can keep attackers from getting their hands on you by temporarily disabling them from a safe distance.

In addition to the electrical pulses from a distance, the TASER X26C model can also be used like a stun gun in the event that your attacker is able to come within arm's reach. It also utilizes an Anti Felon Identification System (AFID), which disperses specially designed pieces of "confetti" that have been marked with a serial number. When the TASER device is used, these pieces enable law enforcement to identify the owner of the TASER device once the target has been apprehended.

The TASER X26C device measures approximately six inches in length and weighs just seven ounces, making it ideal to carry in a holster on your belt or in a handbag. The X26C is smaller and lighter than previous TASER models, yet it is engineered to deliver the same or greater incapacitating power. The TASER International Inc., the maker of TASER devices, requires all owners to pass a background check before it is activated. By registering your TASER, you also get the added benefit of a replacement device if you use the TASER for self defense and must leave it behind when you escape the situation.

No one expects to be attacked, and too many people are caught unprepared when this happens to them. By carrying a TASER device such as the new X26C model, you can prepare for the worst possibilities. No matter what the situation is, you can feel safe knowing you have something to protect you. TASER has long been synonymous with effective protection devices used by both law enforcement and private citizens. TASER International Inc. has continued this tradition with the X26C.

    *********************** ARTICLE START ***********************

When it comes to defending themselves from an attack, too many people confuse self defense situations with a fair fight. In order to protect yourself in the best way possible, you must understand the key differences between these two situations.

First, there are no rules when you are being attacked. You cannot expect your attacker to fight fair. Nothing is out, including weapons and "unfair" fighting tactics like eye gouging or hits below the belt. As the victim, you must keep this in mind, using every method you know to fight back against an attack. Ignore everything you've been taught about what makes a "fair" fight, because this is not one.

Second, the victim is never as prepared as the attacker, and this fight is not evenly matched. Most attacks happen when you're least expecting them. You may not have martial arts training or be carrying a gun, while it is entirely possible that your attacker has come armed, and he is certainly more prepared for the attack than you are. When attacked, you are put on the defense.

From the beginning, you are in the weaker position. The attacker has made the first strike, making this situation inherently uneven. From the time the confrontation begins, your goal is to gain the upper hand. You must fight back using any means available to you. In order to make a more even playing field, take proactive steps to safeguard your safety and be prepared to fight back. Carry pepper spray, a stun gun, or another self defense devices. These devices can give you a way to fight back even against an attacker who is much bigger or stronger than you.

While you would probably have advance notice of a fair fight, you won't have a chance to prepare yourself for an attack situation. Be aware of your surroundings so that you are aware of imminent or potential attacks. Always be in the mindset of paying attention to potential dangers and what you can do about them. By looking for suspicious people or situations, you can mentally prepare yourself for a self defense situation before the confrontation itself. Paying attention to your surroundings is essential if you want advance warning or time to prepare yourself mentally to fight back.

While a fair fight would probably stop once one fighter is down, you cannot expect a violent situation to simply end. You must take your attacker down in order to escape such dangerous situations. Here, pepper spray and stun guns can be invaluable, giving you minutes to flee while your attacker is incapacitated. There is no referee to stop the attack, and there is no time limit; it is up to you to make your attacker physically unable to continue.

There is a massive distinction between the act of fighting and a self defense situation. Too many people think that such fights will be fair, but they won't be. You have the right to protect yourself against violence by using reasonable force against an attacker. Doing so does not mean that you agree with fighting or with violence. You must defend yourself during these situations with a survival standpoint, disregarding any comparisons between what you are experiencing and a sport fight.

Imagine that you are a professional burglar. Whether you target large mansions or dorm rooms, your aim is to get in and out as quickly as you can. You may watch a potential target to find out when the best window of opportunity is. When the moment arises, a professional burglar will break in, quickly take anything of value that you have lying around, and get out before they are caught. They don't want to spend more time than necessary in the house, and will only look in the most likely places for valuables. A professional thief might target the jewelry box, under the bed, and in the entertainment center. The average time a burglar will spend in the home is just five to eight minutes, which doesn't leave time to look anywhere except the usual hiding places.

This is where a diversion safe comes in handy. What if you could leave your valuables in plain sight, hiding right under the nose of anyone who might try to take them? Diversion safes look like everyday household items, perhaps a soda can or a flower pot. No burglar will ever think to look inside these objects, especially when you consider that they will only take a few minutes to loot your entire home.

Although you may be thinking that a fancy security system with closed-circuit TV cameras and a large safe bolted into the floor is the right way to protect your valuables, this route can get expensive quickly. Diversion safes are a cheap alternative that in most cases are just as effective as these more involved security measures.

Today, diversion safes are among the most popular home safety products. They can be found in many different types to hold everything from a stash of money to your heirloom jewelry. Unless you know that it's really a safe, there's no way to tell that it's not actually the everyday product it looks like. Diversion safes are appropriately weighted to feel just like the actual product when handled, and have the labels of real brand names. They are just like the real object, with the only difference being a removal top or bottom enabling you to hide your valuables.

Diversion safes are a great choice for a wide variety of situations. Besides use in the home, they are also a great choice for college students trying to keep their belongings safe in a dorm room. A diversion safe shaped like a rock is a popular method of storing a spare key outside the door. Many different styles of diversion safes are made, making it easy to find an appropriate style for any room.

Even if a burglar knows about the possibility of diversion safes, he would never have the time to look closely at every possible object in your home. Simply place the diversion safe anywhere that it will blend in, and your valuables will be safe from anyone who would want to take them. Burglars are looking for easy opportunities. Don't leave your valuables laying around waiting to be taken. Instead, hide them in plain sight with a diversion safe.

As today's malls and shopping centers get bigger and bigger, so do the parking lots. As a result, many shoppers end up walking long distances from their car to the store. This may seem like an everyday necessity, but few people realize the dangers that occur when you are walking through a parking lot, especially at night. Though it's good exercise, there are also many potential risks, including theft, assault, rape, and even kidnapping. Unfortunately, women especially are likely to walk to their cars alone at night, not realizing the dangers associated with this commonplace behavior.

Especially if you plan to be at the store past dark, park as close to the building as possible. This may mean circling the lot a few times to find a good parking space, but your safety is worth it. Once you park your car, get out quickly, lock your car, and walk directly into the store. Take note not only of where you parked, but also the lighting and any potential hiding spaces around your car. Look for people loitering outside the store; if they are still there when you come out, be careful.

Try to make most shopping trips during the day. If you must walk to your car at night, take advantage of any help that is available. Walk out with a group of people, or ask the store for an escort. Although this may seem silly, always remember that store security is there to keep you safe. If something seems wrong or dangerous, stay inside the building until you are able to find help. If you see someone suspicious, either in the parking lot or inside the store, alert security. It is always wiser to ask for a security escort than to walk alone into unknown dangers.

When approaching your car, be aware of anyone else in the parking lot. This is especially important if there are few other cars or people around. Be particularly wary of anyone who has parked next to you if there are plenty of other open parking spaces. Carry a stun gun, pepper spray canister, or personal alarm to thwart any potential attack.

If you're carrying a lot of bags, pay attention to how you load them into your backseat or trunk. Never turn your back to the rest of the parking lot for too long. Once in your car, lock all of the doors and drive away. Many people let their guard down once inside their car, and take time to reapply their makeup, check their shopping list, or make a phone call. You must realize that you are vulnerable in this situation. Essentially you're sitting in your car, alone and distracted. This makes you a prime target for any attacker.

Distractions are plentiful when shopping, especially when heading into or out of the store. It is too easy to become absorbed in your thoughts, going over your shopping list instead of thinking about what you are doing. Because we park in parking lots every day, it is too easy to believe that this activity is completely safe and nothing will ever happen. You can never be too cautious, especially when walking to your car alone at night.

Article Title: The Top Disguised and Fake Self Defense Gadgets

    *********************** ARTICLE START ***********************

Sometimes, the best way to resist an attack is to fool the attacker into thinking that you are complacent until you are able to effectively stop them in their tracks. Fake self defense gadgets conceal their true purpose, returning the element of surprise to the victim so that you can keep yourself and your belongings safe from harm. Here are five of the most effective disguised self defense gadgets:

Cell phone stun guns look surprisingly realistic. They even have a screen that looks just like the one your real cell phone might have. If you're talking to someone who seems to be acting suspiciously, take out your fake cell phone. Your potential attacker will not be threatened by its appearance, buying you time to surprise him with a jolt of 900,000 volts of electricity, easily taking him down. Cell phones are the most ubiquitous gadget there is today, and your attacker will never expect what's about to happen to him.

Another excellent disguised weapon is a pepper spray pen. These pens are so realistic that you can put them on your desk, in your pocket, or in your purse and they should fool almost everyone, even when seen up close. Are you in a threatening situation? Pull out your pepper spray pen to "write down his number" or any other trivial piece of information. Before your attacker knows it, you can direct the pepper spray stream right into his eyes. This small but effective weapon is used by thousands of people, from students to real estate agents, who feel comfortable carrying around a weapon that looks just like a regular pen.

There are other disguised pepper spray devices that are perfect for specific situations. A few examples include pepper pagers and walking weights concealing a pepper spray canister. Both are perfect for carrying with you into a variety of situations where they will fit in and fool your attacker. When you use one of these disguised devices rather than a plain canister of pepper spray, you reduce the chance that the attacker will be able to cover his face before you are able to use the spray.

Some of the most popular disguised self defense weapons are key chains. Though their real use is not immediately recognizable, and they look like harmless decorations attached to your car keys, in reality they may be personal alarms, mini pepper spray canisters, or even a mini baton. These efficient little weapons will always be with you, since they are attached to your keys, and won't draw a second glance.

While these devices work against physical attacks, other fake security devices work against those who are seeking to break into your home or steal your belongings. A diversion safe, shaped like a soda can or any other common everyday object, is a great way to hide valuables out in the open. Another excellent fake device is a dummy security camera. Cameras don't have to be real to make potential burglars believe that they are being watched. Position these cameras in the eaves of your house, and consider posting signage alerting would-be attackers that their moves are being recorded. They look just like the real thing, and cause would-be thieves to avoid your home.

Today, security is a major issue for many businesses and homes. How can you prevent burglaries or other crimes when you're not even there? Besides following common-sense safety precautions like locking doors and windows and keeping the building well-lit, consider security cameras as a way to ensure safety and prevent crime. Not only are they a visible deterrent, but their recordings can also be used to determine what went on and catch any perpetrators.

Surveillance cameras can be very helpful in a wide range of applications. In a workplace, they can provide information about day-to-day activities like productivity and customer volume. Of course, they are essential for catching thieves or other criminal activity inside your business. Surveillance cameras inside a business location should be as unobtrusive as possible. In customer areas, however, it may help to have a security camera in an obvious location to deter shoplifters.

Around the home, security cameras can protect your family and your belongings from burglars and other criminals. A surveillance camera, whether real or fake, lets criminals know that there's a good chance they could get caught. You can even place signs around the home to warn that these cameras are there. When using surveillance cameras outside the home, they should be placed in obvious and immediately noticeable locations. Not only can these cameras catch thieves, but they are also a great way to discover previously unknown sources of problems. For example, if an animal is going through your trash at night, a security camera can show you that it is a raccoon.

Surveillance cameras inside the home also have a range of applications. They can protect the valuables you own by providing additional evidence if someone breaks in, or monitor activities, enabling you to watch over children or elderly parents or simply see what goes on in your house while you're not there.

There are many different surveillance cameras on the market now, including wired and wireless, indoor and outdoor, night vision, and cameras recording on a variety of media. Some are self contained, with both the recorder and camera in one unit, while others transmit to a separate recorder or even online. Some types must be installed, while others will work right out of the box. Other surveillance cameras are small enough to act as hidden cameras. If you're looking for a low-cost option but want the protection of a security camera, consider dummy security cameras. The mere appearance of a camera is often enough to deter burglaries, and other unwanted behavior.

Whether you're concerned about your home or your business, it is extremely important to do all that you can when it comes to security. Keeping these buildings secure and protected doesn't have to be expensive. Surveillance cameras within your budget are not impossible to find. Plus, you don't have to have technical knowledge to operate the kinds of surveillance cameras that are available today. In fact, the wide range of available security cameras can suit any budget or application. Surveillance cameras in key positions can keep you, your family, and your business safe from harm.

Article Title: An Introduction to Reality Based Self Defense

    *********************** ARTICLE START ***********************

Reality-based self defense is a specific approach to self defense training focusing on practical applications, such as defending yourself against an attack on the street, rather than training you to move up by achieving different belt colors through fights with similarly trained students. RBST Training covers a range of possibly dangerous scenarios, and often includes weapons such as guns, knives, batons, and other self defense devices in addition to unarmed moves.

In RBSD, high importance is placed on skills that would be useful in an attack situation, rather than acrobatic techniques, rituals, and other elements of traditional martial arts training that focus on aesthetics rather than practicality. Proponents of reality-based self defense training believe that the average person should learn tactics that allow safe response and escape during a confrontation, rather than consideration of style or form. Most RBSD practitioners believe in arming themselves as quickly as possible to bring an end to the situation, rather than focusing on unarmed skills during their training.

Reality based self defense training includes gross motor skill development through activities like squats and push-ups, as these strengths are believed to be enhanced by the effects of fear and stress, rather than deteriorating as is the case with complex and fine motor skills. While skills such as a hook punch, a knee strike, and a straight punch are central to reality based self defense programs as they are in traditional forms of martial arts, much of the advanced training focuses on armed moves.

In contrast to most forms of martial arts, reality based self defense focuses on situations that are armed and take place in a hazardous environment, rather than primarily unarmed moves in a controlled situation. When it comes to actually protecting yourself in the real world using RBST techniques, the way you train and how you have been trained will be central in determining whether you may be successful at fighting off an attack.

When undergoing reality-based self defense training, the reality of self defense situations must be central in your mind. There is more than one type of attacker, and you must make sure that you are prepared for any attack and any attacker. The more options you have for fighting back, the greater your chances of succeeding. Memorized, karate-style moves won't work in a real situation. Street fights are only choreographed in the movies; in real life, no two fights will be the same. Most traditional martial arts assume that an attacker will act in a specific way, but in the real world, this is not always the case. For example, in order to use a basic throw technique, a mugger must first grab you from behind without a weapon. How likely is this to happen? Your reality-based self defense training must teach you how to fight back no matter how the confrontation happens.

Learn how to use your body's defense instincts to your advantage while developing mentally for these situations, as often your chance of success depends on your mental and emotional state. Unlike martial arts competitions, which you will generally be prepared for ahead of time, real-life confrontations generally come with no warning. Will you be prepared to act? Reality based self defense can prepare you to do what you need to do.

If you are currently looking for an effective way to protect yourself against an attack, you may be surprised at the vast array of products available to you. Guns, knives, pepper spray, stun guns, batons, TASER devices – how do you choose? When it comes to self defense devices, there are six questions you must ask yourself.

    Is it legal?

The device you choose must be legal for you to carry in your car, your pocket, or your handbag, and for you to use if needed. Though many are perfectly legal, others, such as guns and knives, may require a permit. Be sure that the self defense methods you are considering are legal in your area before you purchase them.

    Will I carry it everywhere?

Self defense devices will do no good if you always leave them at home buried in a drawer. Will you feel comfortable carrying it in your handbag? Is it small enough for you to do so easily? If not, it is of no use for you. Effective self defense devices must be with you at all times; you never know when you might be engaged in a potentially violent confrontation.

Am I confident in my ability to use it?

Some self defense devices, like guns, may require training in order to be effective. On the other hand, pepper spray is as easy to use as a canister of hair spray. Not only must the device you choose be easy for you to use under stress, but you must also be confident in your ability to use it.

    Is it effective?

All self defense products are not created equal. Knives, guns, and batons require skill to be able to disable an attacker immediately. Stun guns, TASER devices, and pepper spray, meanwhile, can effectively disable any attacker within seconds. Simply aim at your attacker and press the button. When comparing the different types of self defense devices, make sure that you choose one with a good track record of use by untrained individuals.

Am I physically and emotionally prepared to use it?

Many people choose non-lethal self defense devices because they are not emotionally prepared to inflict lethal harm even against someone who is attacking them. Be honest to yourself about whether you could bring yourself to actually use your chosen self defense device. Even if you have the physical skills to use it correctly, you may not be able to accept the idea of actually using it.

Could it be used against me by an attacker?

An attacker may be able to wrestle a gun or knife away from you fairly easily. On the other hand, a stun gun when taken away from its holder will be deactivated, making your attacker unable to stun you with it.

There are many excellent options when it comes to self defense. This personal decision should be made with your own skills and comfort level in mind. Some require more skill to use effectively, while others are easy enough for anyone to use. Many will disable an attacker without causing lasting harm, while others are designed to injure. All self defense devices are not right for all people. You must be comfortable in your choice so that you can protect yourself should the need arise.

Today, it is nearly impossible not to worry about your personal safety or think about self defense options at some point. Everyone should carry a self defense device in order to protect themselves in case of an attack. Unfortunately, it is likely that you will fall victim to an attack at some point in your lifetime. If this should happen, you must be prepared to get away safely with as little injury as possible.

Too many people decide not to prepare themselves for self defense because of the cost and effort involved. While some devices, particularly guns, can be expensive for the average person to carry, there are many excellent options for affordable personal protection. These devices can help you feel safe wherever you are without being an expensive burden. You may be surprised at the number of choices available to you at an affordable price.

When comparing the available options, look not only at price but also ease of use and whether you would be comfortable carrying such a device with you. Self defense devices do not need to be large or elaborate. In fact, the most effective self defense devices are small enough to carry in a pocket or handbag, and easy enough for anyone to use with no training. Anyone can carry these self defense devices, which come in a wide array of styles, sizes, and forms. There is a perfect self defense product out there for you, though not all self defense products are right for everyone.

One of the most popular means for affordable self defense is pepper spray. It comes in nearly every size, from a keychain containing a couple of bursts of the powerful spray to a larger canister meant to be kept inside the home. Pepper spray is most often chosen by those looking for an easy method to defend themselves; using a canister of pepper spray is just as easy as using a can of spray paint.

Another excellent choice for those looking for inexpensive self defense products is a personal alarm. When pressed, this alarm sounds a loud beeping noise, alerting others to the situation. While it can not actually take down your attacker like pepper spray would, it can get you the help you need, as long as people are within hearing range of the alarm. The loud alarm will also scare away many attackers who do not want attention to be drawn to them.

For those looking for a slightly more effective and very powerful means of self defense, consider stun guns and TASER devices. A TASER can be used from up to fifteen feet away, these devices will immediately disable any attacker. They come in very small sizes, some even disguised as cell phones, and can easily be carried in a pocket or purse.

These inexpensive safety items are easy to carry with you and can mean the difference between getting away safely and becoming the victim of a violent crime. Preparing to defend yourself does not have to be expensive. With so many options for inexpensive, small, and easy-to-use self defense devices, what excuse do you have not to protect yourself?

Are you currently considering your options for home security devices? Finding the best alarm system can be difficult for homeowners. One of the first decisions you'll need to make is between hardwired alarms and cameras and completely wireless home security systems.

There are many benefits of going wireless. For one, the system is much more adaptable. You are not restricted to those areas that can be reached with wires. Instead, you are free to place the security devices exactly where they will be most effective. This flexible system allows you to place cameras and alarms indoors and out, even far away from the closest outlets. When it comes to home security, installing these devices in highly visible areas is essential. Many burglars are looking for easy targets, and will skip over your home if the first thing they notice is a security camera installed under the eaves.

Because there are no wires to run, installation is easy. Even with no technical or electrical knowledge, the average homeowner can install wireless cameras and security alarms in an afternoon. You don't have to worry about running electrical lines across your house or drilling into any walls to install wireless security options, unlike their hardwired counterparts. Instead, simply position the device where you want it. If you want to take it down or move it, this can be done in just minutes, and you won't be left with any wires to untangle or hide. A wireless system is easy to take with you when you move.

Wireless window and door alarms are some of the most popular home security devices available today. These simple, inexpensive devices sound a loud alarm as soon as the two halves are separated. They can be installed on nearly any door or window throughout your home.

Wireless home security options are not only less expensive and easier to install, but the devices themselves often have a substantial cost savings over hiring someone to install a whole-home wired security system. Wireless cameras and audible alarms are the perfect choice for families looking for an easy and affordable way to protect their home. If you don't plan to install them all around your home, you can still protect the most vulnerable entrance points using these alarms.

Wireless cameras and alarms are usually battery operated, so they will work even in a power outage. Plus, there are no wires to cut, so you don't have to worry about a burglar cutting the power to your alarm system before entering your home. One major advantage of a wireless system is that it will work in nearly all situations, and there is no worry about bad wire connections or faulty electrical wiring.

Often, the wireless systems are the most technologically advanced when compared to other types of security. These systems may include fancy options such as the ability to view the video from your security cameras online, from any internet connection. If you are looking for the best alarms and cameras for your home or place of business, wireless security is often the best option. When researching your home security options, take a serious look at all of the easy to install and effective wireless devices available to you. From alarms on windows, doors, and gates, to security cameras indoors and out, the many wireless options can protect your home from a wide range of threats.

Do you really need to have a company install a whole-house security system? This is certainly an effective way to safeguard your home, but is it worth the high cost? In many cases, designing your own security system piece by piece leads to an effective and affordable home protection method. Many people are turned away from protecting their home at all because of the expense of having a professional install one, but you can choose cameras and alarms to do it yourself affordably.

When it comes to planning the safety of your entire house, place emphasis on any possible entry, particularly doors or windows. Arm each of these with a security alarm that will buzz loudly when opened. Then, place security cameras aimed at each of these locations. Whether dummy or real, a camera is one of the most effective devices that you can use to scare off burglars or other criminals who may be considering your home as a target. Make sure that the area is well-lit, not only so that possible criminals are clearly visible on camera, but also to keep them from coming near your home in the first place.

By adding cameras and alarms individually, you can design your own security system that is easily adaptable to your own family's needs. A whole-house security system, on the other hand, is usually installed in a one-size-fits-all configuration. Do you have a particularly vulnerable location around your home? You can add a little extra protection yourself by installing an extra camera or alarm. Remember, criminals are just as likely to view your back door or a side window as an entrance point as they are to come in through your front door.

A security system is essential for more than protecting your home against robberies. For example, if you have a pool, a pool alarm and a security alarm on the gate can alert you to anyone who has jumped or fallen into the water. A security camera can also be used to watch what happens in your home when you're not there.

These alarms and cameras are easy to install with no technical expertise. If you decide to move, they are just as easy to take with you. Installing your own security devices is much less expensive than hiring someone to do it for you, and you can rest assured that your home has been protected. Do-it-yourself home security is a low cost way to give you peace of mind.

There are many excellent options when it comes to designing your own whole-house security system. There are wired and wireless cameras, those that record with an all-in-one device and those that record remotely or broadcast online, and even cameras designed for recording at night. In this day and age, it is essential that you protect your entire house from attack. There is nothing more important than your family's safety. Having such alarms installed around your home, as well as signage alerting potential criminals to these systems, has been shown to greatly reduce the chances of your home and your family falling victim to such an attack.
