You just got done restoring this beautiful 18th century home and now you are putting all the finishing touches in place. The furniture in the rooms, the moldings on the walls, and installing the doors. When you go to put the doorknobs on those doors, don't just go with something boring and unoriginal, go with something that has a decorative feel, go with glass doorknobs. They have a beautiful appearance that is the perfect finishing touch to your restoration project.
That's right, glass doorknobs are ideal for finishing off the look of that 18th century space because you can get ones that have a fabulous antique look and feel. For example, there are ones that have fancy diamond cuts to them that glisten whenever light shines on them. They are then mounted on a metal base that features an oil-rubbed or burnished finish, creating one vintage looking selection.
Another antique looking option with glass doorknobs are the ones that are completely round in shape that feature a mirrored center. There are other antique options too, including those that have a spiraling design along with others that are rosette shaped. What can also give these glass doorknobs such an antique appearance, are the many colors that they are available in. Like, you can get ones that are emerald colored, others that are lavender, some that are baby blue, and even ones that have a pink or rose shade to them. Colored glass doorknobs were a big thing in the past, making them a great choice for putting in your newly restored home.
In addition to the glass doorknobs that have an antique feel to them, there are other style options available. Like, you can get ones that have a modern feel to them, featuring a design where the doorknob itself is made out of a combination of metal and glass. Where the glass is frosted and split by a brushed stainless steel that also serves as the pieces base. Other style options include traditional ones, some that are more contemporary, and ones that are on the transitional side and actually combine styles.
To check out the different glass doorknobs that you could purchase, forget about making the trip to the local hardware store. Instead, what you can do is just go online and do your shopping. Just by the click of the mouse, you can browse the many choices on the online retailers sites and in no time at all you will find what you are looking for, usually at the best prices possible. Your purchase will even be shipped right to your door, saving you time and money.
With glass doorknobs, you just get highly decorative fixtures that are an ideal choice for capping of the look of any restoration project. Even if you are not restoring a house, you can use them to really personalize the look of your space as well. So, what's the hold up? Purchase some today so your doors will look glamorous tomorrow.

In the classic children's story, Peter Pan, the Darling's darling Nana was sent to her dog house as punishment. Oh, if only dog's today could be punished so.
Dog houses are unlike those from days of old. Sure, you can still whip together a basic dog house of old boards and leftover nails with the kids. But why not give old Fido or Fifi a home that is on a par with your own.
Of course, dog houses are a little simpler to build. You don't need running water (unless you want a never ending water bowl) or electricity. But outside of that, dog houses can be pretty fancy affairs.
If you haven't built one before, a good place to start is with dog houses that are already manufactured. They range from very simple unfinished wood styles to dog houses that look just like your home. Most of these dog houses come in kit forms or with plans that you can work from, if you're handy with tools.
The importance of having proper dog houses for your best friends can't be emphasized enough. In temperate climates, they provide much needed shade for your dog so they don't overheat. In colder climes, dog houses keep your pet out of the wind, rain, sleet and snow.
Of course, this may be obvious if your dog is an outdoor dog. But even indoor dogs can use dog houses in their yard for shelter, protection and security. Dog houses give them a place to call their own and it helps them feel safer in the yard.
When considering dog houses for your own home, you want to make sure that it is weather proof, is easy to keep clean, doesn't have any dangerous protrusions, and is big enough that your dog can come and go with ease. Dog houses that are too big for the family pet aren't a bad thing. Dog houses that are too small either won't get used or will make you pet's life miserable.
This is particularly true if you have a puppy. When selecting dog houses for puppies, be sure that you get one that is big enough for them when they become adults. It's tempting to buy or build a cute little house, but the puppy will grow out of puppy-sized dog houses quickly and you're back to square one.
Here's a few sizing tips:
• The door should be at least three quarters of your dog's shoulder height.
• The length and width should be ¼ larger than the length of your dog from its nose to the start of its tail. This gives the dog plenty of space to turn around in the house.
• The height should be 25% taller than the dog, but not more than 50% taller than its height when the dog is erect.
For ease of cleaning, most dog houses are built with removable roofs or bottom panels. This allows you to do a thorough cleaning of your dog houses so your dog isn't exposed to illnesses that come from living in an unclean environment day in and day out.

Are you fed up with walking into your bedroom and just seeing this huge mess that never seems to have any organization to it? There's a pile of clothes over year, shoes over there, and basically, things are just all over the place. Well, if this is you, then you need to clean things up and a great first step is purchasing some new bedroom furniture for your space.
Bedroom furniture is a great way to get organized because it gives you a fantastic spot to store all your things. Like, maybe you have a ton of clothes, yet not enough room in your closets. What would be good for you then would be to get an armoire, it provides you with a nice spot to not only keep some folded clothes in drawers along with hanging clothes since one generally comes with a hanging rack. Dressers are also a great option for if you have a lot of clothes that need to be put away, you could go with a tall, narrow one if you want or one that is shorter and wider. The shorter and wider dressers could also be used as a vanity if you wanted just by placing a mirror over it or on it, providing you with a nice area to get ready if your husband like's to hog the bathroom.
As you can see, there are just a lot of options when it comes to bedroom furniture and there is many more in addition to the ones mentioned above. A few of the other options that are available include bed frames, night stands, jewelry chests, and there are even entertainment centers that are made especially for your bedroom. They come equipped with a place to store your TV, plus, room for storing clothes and other items.
Along with helping you organize your space, bedroom furniture is also perfect for adding some personal style to it as well. How so? Well, it is crafted out of all sorts of materials that are then finished off in a number of eye-catching ways, creating selections that are very pleasing to the eye. For example, you can purchase one that is crafted out of rich pine that then has a breathtaking espresso finished applied to it. Or, you can get something made from maple that then has a lovely distressed finish applied to it. Some of other material options include mahogany, oak, and cedar while the other finishes out there include lighter wood grained finishes along with cherry, walnut, and some that can be painted a variety of colors.
The many material and finishing options create bedroom furniture of all sorts of styles, ranging from those that are modern, some that are very traditional, others that are more antique, and some that even have an artsy feel to them. For an easy way to check out all the style, and types, of bedroom furniture that are available, just hit the Internet for some online shopping.
In the end, if you want to clean up the pigsty that is in your bedroom, it is probably a good idea to buy some new bedroom furniture for it. With all the options, it's easy to do and in no time your sleeping space will be looking as pristine as ever.

Article Title: Teak Chairs – They're Easy To Clean And Protect

If you have a teak table and chairs in your home, there is no doubt you have been proud of the beauty these pieces have brought to you. Unfortunately the inevitable is going to happen. You are going to notice a stain in the wood. While teak is pretty hardy and puts up with a lot of use and abuse, dirt can be rubbed into the surface, and make a lasting mark. Now your perfect wood is blighted, right? Wrong. You can get rid of the stain, with a little know-how, and have your teak chairs looking like new again.
When you first notice a stain on your teak chairs, you should start with the easy solution, soap and water. Scrub it a little bit and see if you can get the stain to come up. If you notice a little progress, you may want to keep going to see if you can get the entire blemish removed. If not, it's time to take a tougher tactic. Pull out the sandpaper. Most people cringe when thinking of taking a piece of sandpaper to their teak chairs but teak is amazingly resilient. Make sure the sandpaper you are using is a very fine grade. Look at the grain on the wood. You need to sand in the direction of that grain. Take your time and sand slowly, just until the stain is gone. As soon as you have removed the stain, dust the area free of sanding residue and apply teak oil.
After you have gone through your first teak stain removal, you may start trying to come up with ways to keep it from happening again. Some people think covers for their teak chairs are the way to go. But they are not. Covers can trap moisture. This is especially dangerous if your teak furniture is outside. Covers on teak chairs can become a perfect zone for mold growth.
Let's say you already know that, because you're reading this after you have found mold on your teak chairs and are trying to get rid of it. Never fear, there is a solution. Once you spot mold on your teak chairs, you have to kill it. This can be done by taking a little bit of bleach, added to water, and dabbing it on the moldy area. You want to let the mixture sit there for 15-20 minutes, so it can do its job. Then use water to wipe the bleach off. If you have outdoor chairs suffering from a lot of mold, you may want to soak them down, spray them off after 20 minutes or so, and then wait for them to dry in the sun.
In order to keep mold away, or at least keep it from coming back, you need to maintain your teak chairs. If your teak chairs are kept clean, there will be nothing for the mold to grow on. You should make cleaning the chairs part of your housecleaning schedule. With proper care and cleaning your teak chairs will last through many years and many memories.

Many of the current trends in home décor are taking us back to the way things used to be. We're going back to a time where every room in the home had a purpose and a number of pieces of furniture had their specific roles to play in completing an overall look. In a bedroom or bathroom vanity area, vanity benches are these pieces of furniture.
With the return to the older styles in décor come the rediscovery of vanity benches in a home. Traditionally they are the place a lady will be while a man is waiting and waiting for her to get ready for a date. But, vanity benches have also branched out in their usefulness and aren't just a place for a lady to finish her makeup and hair. For today's businesswoman vanity benches are also a place to strap into those heels before going out the door, briefcase in hand for the workday.
When you look into vanity benches, there are two ways to go, contemporary or old world.
Contemporary vanity benches go from a very simple style that can be put pretty much anywhere and offer a seating space with little flair, to a chrome legged, red seated modern piece that gets your attention the moment you walk into the room.
If you are looking for old world style in vanity benches there are two ways to go – getting the real thing, or getting a reproduction. Believe it or not, vanity benches are a hot commodity, at least antique ones are. At estate and antique auctions well cared for vanity benches from generations past are pulling in top dollar. If you don't have a lot of cash to spend on this piece of furniture, you can hope that you will happen upon one at a garage sale or in a second-hand shop, but don't count on it. Luckily, when furniture makers see this kind of trend, they want a piece of the action, creating similar reproduction items that you can purchase new.
While you can set up a proper vanity with vanity benches, there are also other ways to use a nice vanity bench in the home. Vanity benches can find a use in almost any room of the house. They are smaller than traditional seating options and can be a perfect addition to a small bedroom that before was lacking a seating space.
If you find exceptionally beautifully decorated vanity benches, they can be a magnificent accent to any room in your house that has a matching décor motif and can replace a not-as-impressive accent chair.
As you watch the fashion trends, home decorating trends, any of the trend markets, you'll notice what comes around goes around then comes back again. This is the case with vanity benches. They were in for a while, went out of style, and as society takes a turn back to a more romantic side of life, the tradition that is vanity benches has come back with it.

If you've ever watched any of the TV cooking shows, you have likely been green with envy over the fresh green herbs they are always using in their recipes. They looked hand picked, and probably taste a lot better than anything you are going to pick up at the store. You would love to have those kinds of herbs, but condo or apartment-life has left you without a backyard to cultivate. Instead of sobbing in your canisters of dried herbs, use the space you have to create your own herb garden.
You may be wondering what space? Look around. Unless you are hiding in a basement, you likely have a window or two available. Couple that sunlight with a few supplies and you will have a mini-garden.
You are going to need 3 miniature planters with handles. Most garden centers have planters that look like small tin buckets. Those will do the job. You will also need 3 herb plants (or seeds), some rope (strong enough to hold the planters once they are filled with dirt and plants, and two metal hooks.
First, you may as well set up the planters. In each of the planters put your potting soil and either herb seeds or the small plants.
Next you will need to measure down 9-12 inches from the top of your window on each side. There is some flexibility in this since some windows are taller than others, and you may need to adjust the height. The space you choose will be where the rope line is going to hang, holding your planters. Once you have marked equal measurements on each side of the window, put in one of the cup hooks.
Now, take one end of the rope and tie a knotted loop in it. This loop should be small, but large enough to be hooked onto the cup hook. You should then hold the rope across the window and see where the loop on the other end needs to be. Tie the loop and hang the rope to make sure it looks right. It should be taught but not tight.
Unhook one end of the rope and string your planters on it. Then replace it on the hook. Once you space out the plants, your mini-herb garden is ready to go.
For extra security, you may want to use metal clips or clothesline clips to hold each of the planters in its place on the rope, as they are inclined to slide a little bit.
If you want to do a little more to dress up the window, and grow a few more herbs, you can also add a couple of pretty planters, stocked with herbs, to the window sill. These planters can have taller herbs growing up to frame the window and draw eyes to the hanging planters.
Unlike other plants, remembering to water these herbs in planters will not be difficult. Each time you go to the sink, they will be right in front of you as a visual reminder and before you know it you'll be cooking with fresh herbs just like on TV.

It used to be when you decided you wanted a globe of world, there was just the one style available. It was the kind of globe of world that was in every classroom. The ocean was blue, the land was brown and green and if you had a really advanced one, there was a little bit of a textured feel where the land would raise up from the water. When it came to the globe of world selection that was it, but times and globes have changed.
If you really want a feel for what the earth is like, floating out in space and spinning, you may want to look at one of the newest designs on the market, a globe that floats and can spin. These globes are literally suspended between a pair of magnetic poles and seemingly float. If you lightly push it in one direction, the globe will spin and give you a feeling that you are watching what is happening to the Earth from space.
Another globe of world design will allow you to have an interactive experience with the world. Some of the globes light up as you point to sections of the world, to give you a better view. Others even talk back to you when you trigger a sensor on one of the countries, telling you what you are touching and, sometimes, a little information about that location. Others have country borders that will light up as you are studying the various lands around the planet. Even mountain ranges and deep seas will come to life in colors that will let you know how high, or how low, they go.
If you want to see more than just where the various countries are, you can find a globe of world that shows the state of the world, including changes in seasons and daylight. The 3-D Earth model globes are displayed in a manner where they will actually spin on the earth's axis while also tilting as necessary to show the change in the earth's positions as the seasons change. You can also see the colors change as the earth passes from day to night. These are an amazing way to teach a child what happens to the world over the course of a year, as you can see the passing of a year, and the changes of the planet that occur, in a six minute time frame.
If you want to mix a little fun into your globe of world, what about one that has a little bit of added shock value? A plasma globe will do just that. This is a globe that can double as a lamp, as arks of electricity flash about inside, like lightning. While the continents of the world glow in green through the blue glass seas, if you are up for a little creative lighting, you can use your fingers or hand to guide the lightning around the planet. No matter what kind of globe of world you choose you'll still marvel at the beauty of our planet earth.

Themed end tables are a great way to integrate an interest, hobby or passion into your home. Choosing a specific theme says a lot about who you are and what's important to you. One of the most popular themes is nautical.
The beginning of a nautical themed room could be as simple as placing a nautical end table beside your sofa. That nautical end table will start to set the tone for the rest of the room. A nautical end table can be as simple as a traditional table with rope trim to one that looks like a ship's wheel or the hatch on a deck. Often you can find a nautical end table that has an even more specific theme. It can have a pirate theme, a tall ship theme or conjure images of the America's Cup or other classic regattas.
If you have a penchant for decorating or have a number of you own nautical items that you would like to show off, you can even look for a nautical end table that comes with glass cases for displaying artifacts from your sailing adventures. Or as you travel to exotic beaches you can collect sand and shells from each of them and put all those sands together in a nautical end table with glass display case and create your own travel beach scene inside the table. What a great way to enjoy the salt and the sea in your own home without ever heading to the dock.
After you select your nautical end table, you will need to find accents that go with it.
If you nautical end table has a ship style theme you can accent the room with ship paintings, a ship's wheel or bell on the wall, fishing nets and lines, or even a set of port and starboard lamps. If you really want to go all out, you could even redo the room flooring to wooden plank-like flooring that would be reminiscent to life on a ship.
If the nautical end table has more of a beach theme to it, consider room accents of large shells, beach and sea life art pieces and, sea related tones of paint on the walls. You can even find lamps that have an open glass base where you can place shells you have collected on your travels.
If the nautical end table has a pirate feel, the rest of the room should match it. You can decorate with paintings of pirates or pirate ships, model ships on display in the room, and displays of swords or guns. If you really want to feel like a pirate, you can even consider getting a treasure chest and filling it with decorative items to create the feel that you were successful in your plundering.
If you want to escape from the every-day, finding a nautical end table you like and creating a nautical themed room in your home is a great way to create a fun getaway while showing others your love for the sea, sand and surf.

Article Title: Switchplate Covers - Dress Them With Flower Power

There are two distinct areas of the home front that receive decoration, the rooms in your house, and any landscaping you do outside. This project will show you a way to bring the two together.
One of the finishing touches to any room is the switchplate covers. There is nothing drabber than to have boring beige or white switchplate covers in a room that has every other inch decorated. They stand out as an overlooked detail. So why not dress up those switchplate covers and show off some of your gardening prowess at the same time.
Before you begin this project you will have needed to press some of your homegrown flowers. Most craft stores have kits that will give you everything you need to complete this part of the process. If you prefer to do-it-yourself, the general process is to take a piece of white printer paper and fold it in half. You will place the flowers inside then close the paper and use some weight to press the paper together, drying the flowers, for several weeks. The options for the press are a few pieces of wood with a clamp holding them together, that you tighten regularly. Or you can stick with the old-fashioned flower pressing method, putting the flowers in the middle of a very large, and very heavy, book, and letting gravity do the work.
If you are going to want your switchplate covers to have a special pattern, you may want to press the flowers in the pattern to start with, so they are ready to go, in formation, when you move them from the press to the switchplate covers.
Check on them every few days and once the flowers are completely dry you are ready to move forward.
After you have the pressed flowers you will also need the boring switchplate covers, white glue, a brush, acrylic paint or spray-paint(if you would like to add some other color to the switchplate), a polyurethane varnish, and paint brushes.
First, decide if you want to have more color on the light switch than the flowers. Some people decide to paint the switchplate covers to complement the room, or with a vase that the pressed flowers will look like they are coming out of. The limit is your imagination. Paint whatever design you have decided on your switchplate covers and let it dry. You could even do this part of the project while your flowers are drying and have the switchplate covers ready to go as soon as the flowers are ready.
Place the pressed flowers where you want them on the switchplate covers. The best way to do this is to use tweezers to grab a hold of the flowers and hold them in place with one hand. With the other hand, brush on the white glue to paste them in place. Once you have all your flowers where you want them, stand back and let it dry. Give it a coat of polyurethane varnish. Once that's dry, your new switchplate covers are ready to hit the wall.

Make your escape. Everyone needs a place to relax and feel the warmth of the sun. And why couldn't this be right outside your door? It can and it isn't hard to do.
First you need to invest in some quality furniture that can stand up to anything Mother Nature dishes out. The most durable of outdoor furniture material is teak. Grown in Indonesia, teak was once used in ship and bridge building because of its strength and natural resistance to water, now teak is used to make patio furniture that will last fifty years or more virtually maintenance free. You can let it weather to a beautiful silvery grey or treat it once a year with protector to keep its natural honey brown color. Whatever you choose to do with your teak patio furniture you will enjoy it for many years.
Second you need to decide what type of teak furniture will make your backyard the place you want to be. Maybe you like to have parties, so a set of a table and chairs would be your choice. Or if you want to recreate the deep relaxation you had on your tropical vacation choose some teak loungers or steamers to bask in the sun while you're poolside. Short on space? Folding and stacking teak chairs are quickly and easily moved and stored, so they are always where you need them. If you enjoy looking at your lush garden why not put a teak bench in the middle of it, so you can sit a spell and admire your handy work. Delight in the breeze as you sit on a teak glider or treat your friends to a cold drink at your very own teak bar. No matter what type of teak patio furniture suits your needs you won't go wrong. You'll make a statement about style and comfort.
Third you need to add a touch of your own style. Add color and interest with flowers and foliage in a teak planter box. Cool off in the shade of a market umbrella. Or increase your comfort level with some cushions or pillows Covered in Sunbrella fabric they are almost as tough as the teak patio furniture they rest on. Fade and mildew resistant as well as water repellant they are an easy way to freshen up or change your patio décor. Available in over 30 colors and patterns you'll surely find one that matches your motif. And at 2.5" to 3.5" thick you will really be relaxing in lavish luxury.
Fourth you need to arrange your teak patio furniture to create your ultimate backyard haven. Maybe you want a teak table and two chairs and a teak glider not too far away for a cozy conversation area. Perhaps you want to hang out in the comfort of a deep seated teak sofa. Add two matching chairs and you have a second living room, but it's outdoors. Try a dining table set and a few benches for extra seating at your next dinner party or a few loungers on the dock to relax in after a jaunt on the lake in your new powerboat. Near to the door or out in the yard your teak patio arrangements need to suit your style and as long as they are comfortable and accessible they will make your escape a place you want to visit again and again. So indulge in some teak patio furniture and treat yourself to timeless luxury.

Article Title: Copper Weathervanes - Add A Little Sparkle To Your Roof Or Yard

Testing the wind for fortune or weather has been in practice for centuries. From hoisting a moistened finger into the air to tossing blades of grass or checking a weathervane we have used various methods of checking the weather before heading out. Today one of the most common ways to do this is with a weathervane.
Since 48 BC when a full-sized depiction of the Greek god Triton was placed atop the Tower of the Winds in Athens, ancient cultures have been using weathervanes to predict the weather. From the Latin fane meaning flag they originally were in the shape of flags. Eventually they took the form of roosters and other farm animals as well as ships and sea creatures.
One of the most common materials used for weathervanes is copper. Whether it's polished and glowing or warmed with a blue-green patina it always looks good on your roof or in your garden. One of the best ways to see the best the world of copper weathervanes has to offer is by shopping online. You'll be able to browse the largest selection and the best prices. So whether you want a horse weather vane or a medieval dragon you'll add interest and style to your home or yard with ease.
Some copper weathervanes come shiny and polished and others appear already aged in a lovely blue-green verdigris finish. If you start out with a polished copper weathervane its sheen will eventually fade to a blue-green patina after years of use. So perhaps you want to embellish your roof with the enchantment of a mermaid weathervane in an antique finish? Or maybe you want to accent your cottage with a shimmering polished copper eagle weathervane?
No matter what shape of weathervane you choose you are sure to enjoy its beauty year after year. You can even enhance the charm and wonder of copper weathervanes by mounting them atop a copper-roofed cupola. Once used for ventilation on buildings such as barns cupolas are now used as decoration. Commonly seen as a four-sided structure of wood or vinyl with vents and a peaked copper roof they can raise your weathervane to new heights. And allow you to gaze upon it from any spot in your yard.
From motorcycles to trout and unicorns to insects there are copper weathervanes in nearly any shape you can imagine. So, rather than looking at your local stores for weathervanes try shopping from the comfort of your own home and you'll see all the many varieties available online. Whether you want pine trees for the cottage or a dragonfly to station near your pond you'll find the perfect weathervane to express yourself.
With a weathervane on your roof or in your garden you'll not only have something beautiful to look at, but you'll know the direction of the wind before you leave for your next bike ride or golf outing. So start looking for your perfect weathervane today and add charm and elegance to your home in a flash.

Now, there are thousands of options to choose from so you can find the exact one to match your personality and space without that much trouble.
Some of the different weathervanes you can choose from include ones that have a nautical theme like sailing ships and schooners, others that have more of a nature feel to them that are in the shape of moose, deer, trees, fish, ducks and even wolves, and there are some that are just for fun that look like butterflies, fairies, and e dogs, cats, and birds. The thing is, these are just some of the designs that are out there to since there are many others, like ones that you can even get in the shape of your favorite college sports teams and others that look like cowboys, golfers, country doctors, and even motorcycles and trains. .
Along with all the many design options to choose from with weathervanes, they also are available in a wide variety of sizes perfect for any outdoor building or area. Or, maybe your house is starting to blend in with everyone else's on the block. To make your home stand out, a larger one, like one in the shape of an American Flag, would really get the job done. Really, one would be a nice option for any outdoor spot, including on top of a garden shed, fence post, gazebo, or any other structure that just needs a little sprucing up. If you want an easy way to check out all of the different options without even leaving your own home, that is right you do not have to leave your home, just hop on the family computer and do a little online shopping. It is an easy way to compare products and prices, so you can get what you want without paying a lot of money.

Summer is half over, but that does not mean that there still is not enough time to enjoy the outdoor weather while throwing some fabulous parties. But, before you invite everyone over, make sure that you have some comfortable seating in place and if you do not, then a great option for your space is teak outdoor furniture, which is the perfect way to furnish your deck, porch, or patio.
Teak patio furniture is the best way to furnish your outdoor space for a variety of reasons. One, there are many different comfortable furnishings available, making it easy to build an outdoor space that is perfect for you and your guests. Some other options includes deep seated sofas and loveseats, Adirondack chairs, rockers and gliders, coffee tables, planters, patio table sets, and many, many more selections. If you want to easily see them all, just do some online shopping. It really is the only way to go because you can price compare and do not have to haggle with annoying sales reps.
Another reason why teak patio furniture is the way to go when furnishing your space is because it is extremely durable and will last for years and years in any outdoor setting. The reason it is so durable is because of the teak wood that it is made from, which is a dense hardwood that is not easily damaged. Plus, its natural oils make it very resilient to the weather, so you do not have to worry if you have to leave your furniture outdoors in the offseason. Why? Because it will not rot, crack, or break under the harshest of conditions, including rains, sleet, hail, even snow and cold temperatures. And three, this furniture is very pleasing to the eye since teak wood has a beautiful look to it. When new, teak wood has a lovely natural golden tone, over time this tone fades to a silver, gray color which has a beautiful sophisticated look. Either look is tremendously beautiful and would enhance the look of any outdoor setting. Then, over time it will weather to a gorgeous gray color that has a lovely, sophisticated look to it

Before inviting everyone over, take stock of the furnishings that you have in place and if it is ready to be tossed, invest in some teak patio furniture. These tables are a great way to enjoy your space and display your odd items or lamps all at the same time. You can find these accent tables in basically any shape or size to fit your needs.
Before you begin your search, you should make a very long and thoughtful decision on what look you are going for in your room of choice. You should know before hand what motif your room décor is going to be. For example, is it going to be antique, new age, country, or possibly themed. These are many choices that will decide what type of small accent tables you will be choosing for your room. There are various types of wood that small accent tables are available in such as bamboo, cherry, mahogany, oak, or maple. Perhaps you are going for the country look and only want flat wood with flat paint; that can be arranged as well.
Small accent tables are sold individually or by the set. The sets sometimes come in twos or threes and each may vary in size or they all could be the same size, the choice is yours. The sizes range from tall, medium, and short. The shapes range from a drum shape to an oblong shaped accent table. Depending on the design that you have for your room, this will also determine what design and size of small accent table you will be wanting to place in that small space.
If you are going for the open and airy look, you may choose a rectangular cocktail table to place in your room. This type of small accent table gives a room a feeling of openness and cleanliness, with glass tabletops and wiry frame with a small wooden base to give some definition to it. These types of small accent tables coordinate in many situations.
If you are looking for a more antique look you could venture towards something that is aged or at least looks as if it is aged. Small accent tables that have carved aprons and post medallions are a great choice for the antique look. Maybe you would like a deep dark wood that has great carved detail into it and look as if it sat in a plantation home a hundred years ago. You could even go with a game style accent table that includes the game pieces. This gives your room a special uniqueness to it as well as display a very beautiful piece of furniture.
If you are looking for storage in your small accent tables so that you can hide phone books, cigars, lighters, or pretty much anything that you really do not want everyone to see. Then there are many various types of small accent tables to suit your needs in this area as well. The choice is yours and you have many of them.

The easiest way to ensure that a dining room is full of matching items is to purchase a dinette set which offers a dining table complete with a set of matching dining chairs. When purchasing a dinette set it is important to take into account size and comfort as well as the design of it. It must fit in appropriately with the rest of the dining area. A good dinette set is required to provide a beautiful place to dine as well as being comfortable and functional while the ability to host a few guests is a major plus. A dinette set should ideally give an elegant yet homey touch to the interior design of a room.
Dinette sets can come in various designs and styles meaning that they will fit in with any type of surroundings and décor. The number of chairs that accompany the set are decided by the buyer and depend on the amount of space available in the room. Some dinette sets are small and quaint, squeezing into any available space and taking up as little room as possible when not in use while others can expand if needed and accommodate a larger number of seats. It entirely depends on the needs and space available to the buyer.
A dinette set can be modern, traditional, stylish, and conventional to make an attractive addition to the home. They are traditionally designed to fit into a small area of a kitchen or dining room that does not have much space. They are normally used for more casual meals such as breakfasts but the attractive designs of today mean that people are increasingly using dinette sets as their main dining area and even to host small get togethers.
A dinette set is the perfect space saver while still maintaining an attractive and high quality design. Top quality products combined with a simple space solution can be the ideal addition to a dining area or home. Many dinette sets can be made slightly more compact when not in use creating even more space in a room. Some of the matching chairs can even be folded and stacked to the side. The many attractive designs can provide a look that is pleasing to the eye as well as taking up the minimum of extra space. Comfort is a huge advantage to dinette sets as many people associate these sets with uncomfortable chairs but in reality the current designs are just as comfortable as the bigger dining sets. Whether it is needed as a breakfast table or to accommodate the main evening meal there is a dinette set available for every home.

When it comes to décor, especially outdoors it's easy to make it classically comfortable with Adirondack furniture. You may be thinking that Adirondack furniture is better suited for a resort on the East coast or a cottage in the woods. But, it now comes in so many shapes, sizes and materials that it is virtually impossible to not find some piece that will compliment your patio or deck.
The Adirondack style has been around since the early 1900's when the first chair was created by, Thomas Lee for his summer home. He gave the design to his carpenter friend Henry Bunnell, who began making and selling them after he patented the design. Adirondack furniture has graced patios, decks and yards with style and ease ever since.
The traditional image of Adirondack style furniture is a wooden slat seat, angled back, high arm rests and usually an ottoman to put your feet up and really relax. While this hasn't really changed much there are variations to fit your style. Beyond the classic design there is the fan, back, the shell back, the wave back and even a Chippendale inspired back. In addition to the chair, there are rockers, gliders, garden benches, settees, tables and even trellis and arbors. So, any type of furniture you desire to complete your patio is available in the Adirondack style as well as your budget.
The choice of materials for Adirondack furniture makes it affordable to grace any patio with this comfortable style. Plastic and resin pieces are low maintenance and generally less expensive than wood. There are really only 6 types of wood suitable for outdoor furniture; Alder, Cedar, Cypress, Mahogany, Pine and Teak. All have the strength and durability to last in any climate and are simple to be cared for and enjoyed year after year.
Alder, Pine and Cypress can be painted to coordinate with your patio décor. Cedar, Mahogany and Teak are best left in their natural state. They can be treated to maintain their natural color or be left to age to a lovely silver gray. Whatever your style Adirondack Furniture is a great investment for your patio because it exudes classic comfort and can last a lifetime. Cedar furniture lasts a minimum of 5 years and Teak furniture, although a bit pricey for some, can last for 50 to 75 years.
With furniture you'll have for awhile you'll want your personality to shine through. Add some flair and comfort with bright or subdued cushions or maybe an eye-popping lime green chair. Dress up a blank wall with a trellis or bring nature closer with a garden bench. Whatever you choose you can make your favorite place to be right outside your back door. So, make the investment to supplement the beauty and elegance of your home with Adirondack furniture. Having a chaise to lounge in with a favorite book or a relaxing dining area for an impromptu party will make your next vacation destination your very own patio. Adirondack furniture offers comfort and style that will last through the next century.

When looking around your home or office, does it seem a little drab and in need of some decoration? If so, there is one lovely option that would be a wonderful decorative addition to your home and that option is gorgeous gemstone globes. Have you ever heard of them? If the answer to that question is no, then you are missing out because they are a fabulous accessory that is a perfect way to enhance the look of your space.
So, you might be thinking, what makes gemstone globes so wonderful? Well, a number of different things. First off, gemstones themselves are very, very, very beautiful. They are rocks, or minerals, that get their beauty from being polished and are so appealing to the eye that they are even used for making jewelry. When set in the sphere of the globe, which can be made out of many different materials like glass, acrylic, wood, or stone, they sparkle and shine, creating a truly breathtaking sight. Probably the best feature of gemstones globes, besides the gemstones themselves, is that fact that they are handmade. A lot of time and effort goes into making each and every one to ensure that you get a quality product that is graced with beautiful detailing. The high amount of detailing also makes it easy to distinguish between the continents, oceans, countries, cities, and states, so, not only is it breathtaking, but it is also very functional if you need to find out where a place is located in the world. Plus, with it being handmade, you also get a one of a kind product since each is a one of a kind piece that cannot be exactly replicated, which is sure to impress anyone who sees it.
A third and final thing that makes gemstone globes such a wonderful accessory is that there a number of options and styles that are available, making it easy to find the right one for you and your space. Some of the different varieties include ones that are made for being place on a desk or shelf. Others can be very large and have a standing design that is perfect for placing in a corner. If you want something more traditional, you can get it because the standard globe design is still available as well with the usual, wide base and the arc that holds the globe up. You can even get one mounted on gold or silver, which has a very sophisticated eye-catching look. These globes also come in a wide variety of color schemes from something very plain, like black and white, to ones of many different colors. To see all of the available options, just turn on the computer and go online.
So, if your home or office needs a bit of a pick me up on the decorating front, one fabulous option to turn to are spectacular gemstone globes. They have a truly stunning look that is sure to please, which is why one would be an ideal addition to any outdoor space.

Adirondack chairs are the perfect places to unwind, and enjoy a cold drink in the hot sun. You can really settle in to their sloping seats and angled backs. Whether plastic or wood their style and comfort add classic style to your patio, yard or porch.
Developed in the beginning of the 1900's for a lake house near the Adirondack Mountains, these chairs have been adding comfort and ease to yards, patios, porches and beaches for over 100 years. Traditionally made of wood that is exceptionally durable and strong, these chairs aren't cheap, but they do withstand the rigors of temperature and time extremely well.
Often our budgets determine our furnishings and we end up with cheap furniture that doesn't last or look good. Maybe it's time to ditch those unsightly chairs made of PVC pipe circa 1978 or that wrought iron set that is starting to rust and finally make your backyard or patio into the 5 star resort you've always envisioned in your daydreams.
Investing in some good Adirondack chairs will give you a classic look that exudes luxury. Crafted from plastic resin or one of 6 types of wood these chairs come in many colors and designs to accent your style from shabby chic to bungalow boutique or even modern and sleek. Whether Alder, Cedar, Cypress, Mahogany, Pine or Teak; Adirondack chairs are easy to protect and maintain. Some can be painted to match your décor and others are more beautiful naturally. Most will last at least 5 years such as cedar and some can last 50 or more. Wooden chairs can be treated to maintain their original coloring or they can be left to age to an inviting silvery gray.
Because of their ease of care, durability and classic style, Adirondack chairs are the perfect addition to anyone's patio, porch, yard or poolside. Lounging in a comfortable chair bathed in sunshine just can't be beat. Add an ottoman to kick up your feet. Add a table and your lemonade and favorite book are in reach. Tired of traditional? Go with an Adirondack styled chaise lounge or steamer chair. Place a garden bench under an arbor and you've got it made in the shade. Bring on a breeze in an Adirondack swing or rocker.
You simply can't go wrong with an Adirondack chair. They are built to last with very little loving care. Put a few of them on your patio or porch and transform it into your own little paradise. Go back to that beach house your family visited every year on the Atlantic or that fabulous resort you visited in Cabo last winter. Adirondack chairs radiate a luxurious simplicity and classic charm that blends seamlessly into anyone's outdoor style. It is said that some things never change. Sometimes we wish they would. And sometimes things don't need to be changed. The Adirondack chair style hasn't changed for over a century and for good reason. It's a comfortable American classic that graces many patios no matter the color or style. Why isn't it on yours?

Cracked. Dirty. Rusty. Faded. Warped. Rotted. Your current patio table sits dejected in the corner. It knows its time has come. Sure we all have starter patio furniture that we absolutely love no matter where it came from, but eventually time, and Mother Nature take their toll. And then sadly, we realize we need to replace it. This time around you should make sure you get something that will last for more than one season.
When you invest in teak you are getting quality replacement patio tables that will always be in vogue and that will be there to serve you for at least fifty years. This is your chance to transform your patio into the backyard paradise you've always dreamed it could be. Whether you want small snack tables to hold drinks in between your chaise lounges or a coffee table to keep your magazines close at hand while you relax on your deep seated sofa, you can find it made of teak and know you've invested in something that you can enjoy from summer to summer.
Grown in the jungles of Indonesia and once used to build ships and bridges because of its strength and natural water resistance, teak is the ideal wood for outdoor furniture. It can withstand rain, and snow without warping or rotting and is virtually maintenance free. You can maintain its natural golden hue by treating it with a teak protector once a year or let it weather to a handsome silver gray patina Either way you'll have the luxury of knowing you'll have beautiful outdoor furniture to enjoy for many years.
Choose a dining table, rectangle, square or round and entertain your guests with the casual elegance and simple sophistication of your teak garden furniture. Create a backyard cantina with high top bar tables and chairs or maybe a lower bistro table and chair set for cozy conversation. No matter what style or size you choose if your replacement patio tables are crafted from teak wood they will be the last you ever buy.
Although they are made to mesh with any motif due to their natural beauty, teak tables can be given a punch of personal style with a colorful market umbrella or plush Sunbrella cushions on the chairs. So the next time you decide to revamp your outdoor décor all you'll have to do is change the color or pattern of your cushions instead of investing in replacement patio tables.
You can make your outdoor space a romantic retreat with the intimacy of a small table and chairs or choose a dining table on a grander scale that welcomes large groups of friends and family. Let the fun begin with a folding octagon table for some poker action al fresco and then easily store it away. As long as your icy drink and favorite book are within reach you'll be glad you invested in replacement patio tables made of Indonesian teak. They'll furnish your backyard retreat for an endless summer.

Article Title: Kitchen Tables - Everyday Use With Extraordinary Style

Typically wood. Sometimes it has the residue of your last meal. Often it is cluttered with mail, laundry or dirty dishes. Does this describe your kitchen table? Well it's time to clear it off, wipe it down and get one that adds some style to your kitchen or dining area. Go from square to round and wood to glass and find one that shows off your personality not your Aunt Ruth's.
Sure you can go to some local furniture stores, but often you can find a better selection and the best prices by shopping online. Your new kitchen table doesn't have to be boring. Choose from ornate metal frames with elegant glass tops or go for something a little darker like a wooden table with a rich cherry finish. Add some fun with one that doubles as a poker table. Downsize to a table for two now that the kids have all grown up and moved out. Whatever you desire you'll be able to find it with a few clicks of your mouse.
So refresh your kitchen or dining room with a new look. Go from formal to casual or classic to fun. One way to start a redecorating project is to have a theme. Maybe you want some old-fashioned comfort or you like the simple yet sophisticated look of white. Or you want the feel of a European bistro with ornate wrought iron and glass. Once you choose a theme your table choices are narrowed down and it becomes a matter of what you prefer. A table made of oak or a table made of cherry? Silvery metal, bronze or black powder coated metal? Scrolls in the metal base or straight lines? A top made of glass or a top made of wood? You might also want to consider if you are going to use it for more than dining. Will it double as a desk or workbench? If so you need to find one that can stand up to rigorous use.
One more thing to consider is the shape of the room in which you're putting your table. Is it long and narrow? Instead of going with a table that mimics this shape throw some curves and light into the boxy space with a glossy white round table. After all the center of the room should be the center of attention. No matter what type of table you choose you want your kitchen or dining room to be inviting, welcoming diners to sit for awhile. It should be a room both you and your guests want to hang out in. You can share some good food, great wine and even better conversation. The kitchen table has always been a gathering place. A place for family members and friends to meet, spend time together and check up on each other. Don't you think it's time to get a table that people actually want to come and sit around? There is no better time than now to make your kitchen or dining room a happy place, a place you would want to come home to, a place that is filled with brightness and warmth. And a new kitchen table is a great place to start.
