Setting aside an entire room to devote to nothing more than watching television or movies can seem frivolous, but for those who really love entertainment this can be one of the most exciting rooms in a house to set up. Carefully chosen equipment, themes and even movies can combine to make a family's theatre room the most trafficked place in a house, but if the home theatre furniture doesn't fit the bill, the opposite might happen.
Choosing home theatre furniture is a very big deal and a proceeding that should be handled with care. The fact is furniture for a home theatre can be very expensive, but it doesn't have to be. There are a few key considerations that should come into play before any furniture is purchased. These include:
Money: Putting together a great home theatre can be a costly venture. By the time the screen and projector and sound system are purchased, there might be very little left for buying home theatre furniture. While it's more than acceptable to phase in purchases over time, breaking a budget is not. When planning for this room's creation, try to put furniture into the mix. Set a solid budget for buys and make sure the other considerations are met to make a room truly spectacular. If money's tight, use the furniture you have and add on later.
Space: While many people might want to have three rows of specially designed movie theatre seating in their home theatre, this might not be feasible. Take a good look at space before making any purchases. One of the top concerns for furniture is placement not only for viewing, but also listening pleasure. If furniture is too big and bulky for a small room, the actual enjoyment of movies might be compromised.
Style: There are all kinds of options when it comes to style of furniture for home theatres. From basic living room sets to special theatre recliners, there's no real rule of the road to follow here. Pick a theme and have fun with it. If the furniture needs to be purchased later, have the theme in mind and build up around it as money allows.
Comfort: Don't discount this as an important factor. Even if an old sofa is used to provide the seating at the start, it should be comfortable to make all night movie marathons more enjoyable.
Functionality: This is perhaps the biggest concern in home theatre furniture. From the tables and chairs down to the storage cabinets, the furniture within a theatre should support the room's overall function. Remember, there will likely be eating and drinking going on in the room, so plenty of drink holders or flat surfaces are absolutely in order. A good place to store equipment and even video library items will also likely be necessary. The functionality is often found in the design of specifically made home theatre furniture items, but it can also be created in a makeshift set up, too.
It doesn't matter if a home theatre furniture ensembles matches from the start, or if it's put together piecemeal. What does matter, however, is that furniture is comfortable and functional. The looks can come later if necessary, but don't compromise on functionality.

While the actual decorations and theme of a home theatre can run the gamut from old-time movie house to modern whimsy, there is a set pattern that should be followed in designing the room. Home theatre designs are patterned for a reason, and that's to ensure optimum viewing pleasure. Precision and even personal preference are key when putting together a design.
When putting together home theatre designs, there are several major things to consider. These include:
Room size: Having the dimensions of the room where home theatre designs will be brought into play is important for a number of reasons. First and foremost, the size will dictate the screen that can be used. A giant screen in a room that's 10-feet-by-10-feet won't likely look very good. In fact, the quality might be degraded since seating will be almost on top of the screen. A general rule of thumb to follow is the larger the room, the larger the screen can be to provide optimum seating for viewing.
Screen size: As has been already stated, the room size and the screen size are fundamentally married in creating home theatre designs. This is so for a number of reasons. Take a look at a big screen or even projection screen television up close and the method behind the madness will be evident. Just make sure the screen size fits the room and provides for good viewing angles from every seat in it, or just about.
Seating: Seating, too, is a big concern for those looking at home theatre designs. Comfort is absolutely important, but so too is placement. A large room with a large screen won't work if the seats have to be placed right on top of the screen. Make sure when looking at seating that it fits the room and can be adjusted to work well for viewing. A good rule of thumb is to have the seating back as far as possible from the screen to ensure that every inch of it can be viewed with ease. There are formulas for this based on the screen size, but individual's eyesight might dictate some variations. All that really matters is that viewers are happy with the seating and the views.
Sound: Most home theatre designs include a surround sound system of some sort. It doesn't matter whether that system is a $5,000 top of the line creation or a budget $300 package, setting it up right will be important. Make sure directions are followed to the letter to ensure the sound quality is the best it can be. Even a less expensive sound system can sound fantastic when the speakers are placed where they are meant to go.
Putting together home theatre designs can be a fun undertaking, but there is a set pattern to how furniture, the screen and even the sound system should be set up. There are pretty precise formulas for these listed generally on manufacturer instructions. When these are followed to the letter, it's very easy to make adjustments to fit anyone's personal needs.

Article Title: Polyester Is Making Soccer Uniforms Cool!

Once upon a time, in the 1970's, polyester was the king of cool fabrics, worn by everyone for every occasion. Soon, however, this synthetic material's popularity went the way of Disco music and the 8-track player used to listen to it on. On the soccer field, however, polyester lives on, and new ways of weaving this durable fabric have made it the material for designing comfortable, easy to care for uniforms.
Soccer uniforms are not simply color-matched clothes for the team to wear while playing the game. These clothing items should be considered as important as the ball choice and the cleats, since a great deal of the player's ability to give an optimal performance will depend on how their body is reacting to either the heat or to a cold chill. The correct selection of the soccer uniform can enhance or detract from the team's overall performance, and therefore deserves appropriate attention.
Polyester shares the spotlight with no other fabric on the soccer field. It is lightweight, durable and breathable, and allows for very little color bleeding, if any. CoolMax, designed by Dupont, has taken the old stand by of polyester, and created a hybrid, 4-channel spun fiber that wicks moisture quickly away from the body, and dries in an instant, leaving the player cool and comfortable even in the hottest game of the season. Now the old work horse, polyester, performs like a thoroughbred, making even the most inexperienced player look and feel like a champion.
No discussion on soccer uniforms would be complete without considering socks. Socks must be well fitted, and preferably made of one of today's high tech moisture wicking fiber blends, designed to help keep feet dry and blister free. It would be a shame to afford no time to proper sock fitting since the best cleats money can buy will not be able to compensate for the discomfort a pair of ill fitting socks can cause.
As in the jersey and short construction, polyester and its hybrid cousins stand out in performance and durability. When choosing soccer socks, look for the blend to list polyester first, or highest, among the named components. You will pay a bit more, sometimes double for soccer socks with a high polyester thread count, however choosing the better socks over those made of say, primarily acrylic, will pay off for you in happier player's feet. In a game where feet are of supreme importance, it is wise to invest a bit in the proper care and comfort of them.
If you are the parent of a youth soccer player, and for financial reasons the least expensive socks are being ordered for the team, it would be very prudent of you to purchase the upgraded polyester blend socks for your child. Just make sure they are an exact match. Ideally, ask the coach or team manager to order them for your child along with the entire uniform order, explaining you are willing to pay the cost differential.

Is your child or teen horse crazy? Many children and teens are fascinated with horses and horseback riding. Attending a horseback riding camp will give them a basic knowledge of horses and riding as well as an interesting summer camp destination.
While the focus of horseback riding camps is, obviously, riding horses, these camps also teach other important factors of horse ownership and care. During their camp time, campers will learn about the different types of tack used to ride or drive a horse. Camp attendees will also learn how to clean and care for tack. Also offered at horse riding camps are sessions on proper horse care. During these sessions, campers will be taught how to feed, water and groom a horse. Some camps ever offer classes in equine anatomy, perfect for children who think they may want to become a veterinarian.
When choosing a horseback riding camp, you must first decide which style of riding your child wants to learn. The main riding styles are western and English. Western riding is generally associated with cowboys, ranches, and rodeos. Popular western riding activities include trail riding and barrel racing. Western saddles were designed with the comfort and security of the rider in mind, so it has a higher seat back (cantle) and front (pommel) so riders feel secure while on the horse. English riding, on the other hand, generally focuses on jumping, racing and horsemanship. This style of riding requires the horse and rider both to have more freedom of movement, so these saddles don't provide as much support and security as does a Western style saddle. If your child is a first time rider, they might want to consider a Western riding camp.
Horseback riding camps generally offer lessons for experienced riders as well as those who have never been on a horse before. Experienced riders will generally be placed in a class they will find challenging while beginning riders will begin by learning the basics of how to properly mount and sit on a horse. Riders with little riding experience are paired with an older, gentler animal while those with more experience ride the younger more spirited animals.
In addition to riding lessons, some horseback riding camps also offer classes in driving miniature horses. In these classes students learn to control the horse as they ride in a small cart pulled by the animal. Another popular horseback activity is vaulting. Simply put, vaulting is gymnastics on horseback. For this sport, horses with large, flat backs are lunged, or driven, in a circle while students perform gymnastic tricks on their backs. Although this sport may sound dangerous and difficult, students generally find it is easier than it sounds.
For horse lovers, horseback riding camp can be a great way to spend at least part of the summer. In the course of these camps, campers can learn the basics of riding or improve their riding skills. They will also learn important horse care issues such as horse health and anatomy. These riding camps can be a great source of fun and experience with horses.

You have heard friends and coworkers talking about massage therapy and how wonderful it is. They get relax and unwind while having their bodies massaged and pampered. Spas are turning up everywhere, even in shopping malls where you can stop and have a 15 minute neck treatment. You have stopped and watched people get their back, shoulder and neck rubbed, but never thought it would be of any benefit. Just another way to spend money!
Think again. Massage therapy is used to help treat painful ailments, decompress tired and overworked muscles, reduce stress, rehabilitate sports injuries, and to promote general good health. This is all done by manipulating a person's soft tissues. This improves the body's circulation and removes harmful waste products from the muscles.
Massage therapy is practiced by thoroughly trained individuals who provide specialized care with their client's health in mind. A massage can be given to help someone relax or to help rejuvenate them. Its main purpose is to help the person by reducing stress and possibly increasing their energy level.
Your massage therapist should talk to you about why you are there.
This helps them learn something about you and your concerns. Whether you are just unbelievably stressed, have sore muscles from exercise, or achy shoulders and neck muscles from sitting at a computer all day, the person giving the massage should know about this. They can better serve you and provide you with a specialized session that will meet your specific needs.
There are more than 80 different types of massage—some of them include the Swedish massage, deep tissue massage, reflexology, acupressure, sports massage, and neuromuscular massage. A massage can be as long as two hours or as short as five or ten minutes. The type of massage given depends on the client's needs and physical condition.
Massage therapists work by appointment. Before beginning a massage therapy session, therapists conduct an informal interview with the client to find out about the person's medical history and desired results from the massage. This gives therapists a chance to discuss which techniques could be beneficial to the client and which could be harmful.
Because massage therapists tend to specialize in only a few areas of massage, customers will often be referred or seek a therapist with a certain type of massage in mind. Based on the person's goals, ailments, medical history, and stress, or pain-related problem areas, a massage therapist will conclude whether a massage would be harmful, and if not, move forward with the session while concentrating on any areas of particular discomfort to the client. While giving the massage, therapists alter their approach or concentrate on a particular area as necessary.
Massage therapy involves the use of oils, lotions, or creams to massage and rub into the muscles. A reputable location will require customers to be covered in a sheet or blanket, and to be undressed or to wear loose-fitting clothing. The only part of the body exposed is the location currently being massaging.
Whatever type of massage therapy you choose, it should help you relax and become refreshed. Think about making this a part of your regular health routine-schedule one a month, relax and enjoy the pampering.

If, like most of us, you wear glasses or contact lenses, the possibility of having good eyesight without them may seem remote. For years you have been stuck with only these two options—or a third, of not seeing very well.
Today, Lasik eye surgery is all you ever hear about and you probably know several people who have already been through the process. They just rave over how quick and easy the process was and that they do not have to be bothered wearing glasses or taking care of contact lenses. And, you are seriously considering doing the same thing. But, are you a good candidate for this surgery?
The best way to find out if you are a good candidate is to schedule an appointment with an eye surgeon and have an examination. There are certain standards that your eyes must meet in order to be considered for the surgery. They are:
* A correctly sized pupil,
* A cornea of the right thickness,
* A cornea that is structurally normal (not an unusual shape),
* Have a healthy pressure within the eye, and
* Have basically healthy eyes (with no diseases or injuries that might interfere with the surgery).
Okay, you are ready to go. You have received your eye examination and have been approved for the procedure by the eye surgeon. Now what? You schedule a date and show up at the appropriate time. You know that you will be awake for the procedure and everything has been carefully explained. Now, it is time to prep for the surgery.
You are finally in the laser suite where you will be positioned comfortable on your back under the excimer laser. Your surgeon will put anesthetic eye drops in your eyes to numb their surface. The eyelashes are taped out of the way and an eyelid speculum is placed between you eyelids to keep you from blinking.
Small reference marks are put on your cornea to serve as positional guides for replacing the corneal flap. A suction ring is placed on your eye to hold it is position and to maintain the pressure within. The corneal flap is now created and folded back. The next step is for the laser procedure to sculpture the cornea by vaporizing small amounts of tissue-this step can take anywhere from 20-90 seconds to complete. The eye is then flushed out to remove any debris and then the corneal flap is put back into its original position.
You will be asked to sit quietly with your eyes closed for about 30 minutes and then the eye surgeon will come back and check to make sure that everything is all right. You may have a sensation that there is something in your eye, but this will pass. When it is time to go home, you will be given antibiotic drops, anti-inflammatory drops, and lubricating eye drops along with a detailed set of instructions on what to do and when to do it. In addition, you will schedule several postoperative appointments to have your doctor check on your eyes.
Now, you know the basics. If you are considering lasik eye surgery, make sure that you do your research and find the best eye surgeon in the area. Once everything is completed, you will enjoy the freedom of not dealing with glasses and contact lenses.

Health insurance is a type of policy that will pay certain amount of money promised by the insurance company to the insurance holder for medical expenses or treatments as specified in the policy. It can also be defined as a protection cover that includes benefits for covered injury or sickness. It is one of the most common insurance policies across the globe. Millions of people worldwide have already purchased this policy and benefited from it.
There are several benefits of purchasing a health insurance policy. As a policy holder, you need to understand all the health insurance benefits that you are entitled to prior to purchasing health insurance. A typical health insurance policy covers you for any ancillary requirements associated to a medical condition. These include visiting to the doctor, vision care, dental care, preventative health care and pharmaceutical requirements.
It is equally important to make sure that your health insurance policy provides you the lowest premium. Finding a low cost health insurance is not as difficult as it seems to be. You need to do a research and find a health insurance policy that meets your requirements at a specific cost that you can afford.
For this, you can easily visit some of the most reputed and famous health insurance companies. Mark around four to five best companies and collect quotes. These quotes are free. Compare the cover, services and prices quoted for health insurance policy by each company. This will help you outline the policy that provides you the best and most affordable health insurance policy.
You can also look for an employer sponsored group health insurance plan. Group health insurance plans are considered to be the most affordable and low cost health insurance plans as compared to state sponsored health insurance plans.
If you can get a group health insurance plan for your employer, you would be paying less for your health insurance plan. This is more affordable option than a group health insurance plan that you purchase on your own.
There are certain requirements you need to fulfill for an employer sponsored group health insurance plan. These requirements range from employer to employer. It depends on the number of hours you work. Your status will also play an important role here. Most employers also have time requirements. This means that the employee should be with the company for a stipulated period of time before he or she is considered eligible for the employer sponsored group health insurance plan.
There are several reasons that you can avail lower premiums on employer sponsored group health insurance plans. To learn about this in detail let us assume that you have an employer sponsored group health insurance plan and the premiums are either divided between you and your employer or paid completely by your employer. This means that you are supposed to pay only half of the health insurance premiums and a low cost co-payment. You just require to pay an affordable co-payment.
If you consider covering your spouse and children under employer sponsored group health insurance plan, it will become more affordable. Here you can group the policy for all your family members rather than purchasing individual health policies for each of your family members.
Going for a low cost health insurance plan will save you a good amount of money.

Article Title: The Most Common Types Of Boat Lifts

*********************** ARTICLE START ***********************
There are many different types of boat lifts available on the market today. Some of these lifts can be purchased in "do it yourself" kits others require professional installation. The choice of a boat lift primarily depends on the type of waterfront you live on, the amount of money you want to spend, the type of boat you have (aluminum vs. fiberglass) and the size of your boat. Boat lifts also can be installed with either manual winches (up to 2000lbs) or electrical winches (1000lbs and up).
Unless you have a very light aluminum boat, we highly recommend purchasing electrical motor(s) to doing the lifting of the boat. Not only is it an extremely easier way of lifting your boat out of the water, but also, you may upgrade down the road to a heavier fiberglass boat and it would one less replacement cost.
There are new types of boat lifts coming out every season, so for the purpose of this article, we will focus on the most effective and popular.
Davits:
Davits have been the most common type of boat lift for many, many years. Basically, they are two steel poles that are called "booms" that are installed either on the sea wall or on pilings. The booms are attached to a base that is bolted down to either the sea wall or the piling. Each boom swings 360 degrees so that should you purchase a bigger boat, most likely the booms can be swung out to still be able to attach to the boat. If not, extensions are available to upgrade, if needed. Each boom has a stainless steel cable (make sure it is stainless steel cable) that attaches to both the boat and the winch.
One boom cable attaches to the front cleat either under or on top of the bow of the boat and the other attaches to the rear. The vast majority of boats require a spreader bar to be attached to the boom pulling up the rear of the boat. The reason for this is twofold; there are two cleats on the rear of the boat to attach and the spreader bar keeps the boat even when lifting and when out of the water on the lift.
As far as whether to attach the davits to pilings or to the sea wall, there are different schools of thought on that. We recommend speaking to the installers about what they recommend, however, we have seen many a lift pull a piling right out of the water while the boat is being lifted. One other maintenance that must be performed yearly is the inspection of your cables. Again, we have seen many a boat lift cable snap and send one end of the boat crashing down into the water. We suggest replacement every four years or so, depending on usage and weather.
One davit alone can also be installed to use as a personal watercraft (Jet Ski) lift. The only additional equipment needed is a sling that attaches to the one boom cable. The sling is a polyester strap with two stainless steel panels that attach to either side of the Jet Ski to lift it out of the water. Again, an electrical or manual winch can be installed and the boom swings 360 degrees.
Final note: There are many different sizes of davits and booms that can be purchased depending on your boat specs.
Piling Mount Boat Lifts:
This type of boat lift attaches directly to piling which eliminates all support beams. This type of lift is great for sail boats and boats with towers. They also come in many types of capacities, depending on the weight of your boat.
Drive on Boat Lifts:
This type of boat lift is becoming more and more popular due to the maintenance free nature of the lift. The only determining factor is that you have to live on a waterway that always has water. For example, many types of canals, at low tide, do not have enough water in them to support this type of lift. They are considered very user-friendly, convenient and safe.
They can support ranges from a 12 foot dinghy to a 50 foot offshore boat. The boat lift is drive on and basically goes up and down with the tides. It attaches to the pilings on your dock making boarding and access easy. Its also modular and portable meaning if you move, you can take it with you.
Cradle Boat Lifts:
Currently there are 25 different types of cradle boat lifts available. They can be either steel, aluminum or a combination of both. They have capacities ranging from 4,500 to 30,000 pounds.
Marine Elevator Boat Lifts:
Marine elevator boat lifts are ideal for extreme tidal areas or other unusual docking conditions. The capacity of these lifts is from 2,000 to 14,000 pounds.

What makes a good romance novel? The basic concept behind it is that the story is usually about the relationship and eventual love between two people and they usually have a happy ending. The "they lived happily every after" theme is very important for most of them.
Romance novels are very popular in North America where they are one of the best selling types of book. It is estimated that there are over 2000 romance novels published yearly and that there are over 50 million romance novel readers.
A romance novel usually has certain consistent themes and are grouped together by these themes. They can include a similar setting, time period, level of sensuality, or type of conflict. The companies that publish romance novels usually have a set of guidelines that their authors use when creating new stories.
The real purpose of a romance novel is to provide an escape for the reader from their reality. The person can temporarily ignore their responsibilities and transport themselves into the novel, pretending to be the damsel in distress. They read through the trials and tribulations in book relating to them and anxiously wait for their Prince Charming to come and rescue them. And, to take them away from all their troubles and woos to the place where they will live happily ever after.
The ability to have to live out this fantasy is a way for some people to find a release from their daily grind and the romance novel is one of the best sellers in the market place. They are sold in every grocery, drug, and discount retail establishments around the country. You can even join any number of different books clubs and you will automatically receive the latest new novels each month. You do not have to go out and buy them-they just keep coming until you tell them to stop your membership.
Many people do not buy them since there are so many that come out every month. They go to the library and borrow them for a few weeks and then return them and get more. Or, some libraries sell older copies of books for 10 cents each-that way, you can keep them as long as you want and never have to return them. You can always pass them on to friends or take them to work and put them on the shelves in the office's lending library.
Women hate to admit that they enjoy these romance novels, but there is nothing to be embarrassed about. With over 50 million of them sold every year, someone out there is reading them! True love and romance are a part of our lives and we enjoy knowing that someone out there is experiencing love and romance.
Whether you fill the bath tub with bubble bath, lounge by the pool, or sit in your car waiting for the children to come out of school, take a romance novel with you. You will enjoy the story and it will help pass the time. You deserve to take a few minutes from your full schedule to fantasize and lose yourself in a good romance novel.

Not everyone can afford to pay a stock broker hundreds of dollars per transaction to be able to try and make money on stock market investments. Fortunately, there are now some great options available for those who want to invest, but don't have a lot of money to play with. One of the best ways for anyone to get into the market is to use online stock brokers.
Online stock brokers are different than using people in face-to-face situations to invest and manage money. Going this route has its ups and downs, just like the market, but the fact is in many cases an online stock broker can be a great choice. Let's consider some of the pros and cons of going online to buy and sell stocks:
Pros
* The fees involved with using online stock brokers or online programs to handle buying and selling tend to be a whole lot less than having an assigned human being to do the work. The cost savings per transaction can actually open a lot of doors for people who might not otherwise be able to invest.
* The ease of using online stock sites in the place of assigned brokers can be incredible. Buyers generally only need to have an account and an ability to log online to get their business done.
* The speed associated with using online stock brokers can be incredible. It typically only takes a few clicks of a mouse to make a buy or complete a sale. Most sites are set up so well that the entire process of buying and selling only takes a few short minutes.
* Freedom is also a perk of going the online route. Since the buyer is fully in control of what's done, there generally is no concern about buy or sell orders not getting through to the right person at the right time.
* The access to multiple markets by going the online route can be a real perk. It might be the case that several stock sites might have to be used to achieve this, but the option is available.
Cons
* Although online stock brokers can offer some great cost savings, the fact is they are not human begins. While people might be behind the scenes and still available to glean advice from, those who buy online won't have the ability to create a one-on-one relationship with their broker. For some investors, this loss is not worth the price savings in brokerage fees.
* Computer downtime can cause problems for clients who want to buy now or sell now. If an Internet connection isn't available, there might not be someone to call in the order to.
Although using online stock brokers comes with both ups and downs, the reality is this is a great way for almost anyone to get involved in investing. If sites are chosen carefully, it's possible to overcome and work around the potential pitfalls, making this a solid choice for investing that many pursue.

Article Title: Home Theatre Systems, With So Many Choices How Do You Find The Right One?

*********************** ARTICLE START ***********************
One of the overwhelming aspects of finding and/or designing he right home theatre system is that there are now so many options to choose from. With the ever steady boom in home theatre demand, more manufacturers are producing a wide array of options. Technology continues to change and improve in leaps and bounds, which often means what was brand new and completely unaffordable only twelve months ago may now be right in your perfect price range.
One reason many individuals like having a hand in designing their own home theatre system is that you can basically mix and match to make it into whatever you want. You are not restrained by package deals. It is possible to put together a full-scale, state of the art system with projector, receiver and the works, or if that seems a little over the top, you can buy a quality TV (some almost to projection screen sizes nowadays) and accessorize it with DVD player and surround sound speakers.
The variance can go from a couple thousand, to $100,000 for the ludicrously rich and extravagant. This illustrates the importance of choosing a system that suits your needs and doesn't break the bank.
In the end, it's all about getting the best possible home theater system for the money you have available. Don't be afraid if it's not state of the art遥our neighbor will still be paying that off six years down the road when you've already upgraded for cheaper. Because of the rapid move of technology, prices bottom out pretty quickly as companies rush at sometimes break neck speeds to try and out do each other.
Think about your own watching and listening needs. Based on what you prefer, a little research should reveal to you the best brands, the best speakers, the best options for what you want to enjoy.
Building your home theater can be a great experience. If you are a family man, you can enjoy movies with the family without having to go out to the hassles of a theatre. If you're a bachelor, invite the guys over for the game. If you're a college student, you are probably incredibly popular (just don稚 put it on the credit cards). There are several different factors to consider when picking out the various parts that will go into your own personal home theatre system. Here is a check list of a few things to consider:
* Projector or TV? Are you in a semi-permanent residence, or moving soon? That may make a huge difference in how much you want to sink in.
* If you're shooting for the projector, then what type suits your needs?
* Small room or larger one.
* What is the focus? Movies? Music? Football games? All of the above?
* Location, location, location!
* Can I do it myself, or should I get help?
Keep this checklist in mind and do your research, and you'll be sure to find the home theatre system that matches your needs.

Beyond the borders of the United States soccer is the most popular team sport, and by a wide margin. However, that is not to say that soccer is not immensely popular in the United States as well. Each year millions of Americans play organized soccer on teams across the country, and each of those teams identifies itself while symbolizing their team unity by wearing a soccer uniform. If you are interesting in joining a soccer team, or if you are an adult who is organizing a team, then selecting a soccer uniform is a great place to start. However, you should know that there is more to a soccer uniform than simply picking out a jersey.
There are several components in selecting a soccer uniform. Selecting a jersey, and jersey color, is one of them. Naturally, choosing a color is a subjective exercise, and personal tastes certainly come into play. Other factors might be the team name, or colors that represent the town or school with which your team is affiliated. Soccer jerseys not only come in varied colors, but in different materials and fabrics as well.
All of those factors come into play when deciding what will look best for your team. And remember, it is often customary for teams to wear different primary colors during road games than during home games. If your home colors are red with white trim, then you will probably need road jerseys that are white with red trim, as an example.
Selecting soccer shorts is an equally important part of uniform selection. Aside from picking colors that complement your team's jersey, be sure to find a style of shorts that is not too baggy. Baggy shorts – despite being in style – tend to get easily bunched up and can encumber the movement of the players.
Remember that your goalie will wear a different soccer uniform than the rest of your team. Because the goalie is the one player allowed to place his hands on the ball, the goalie is usually required to dress in a different color scheme so that the referees can easily distinguish him from the rest of the team. Also, goalie uniforms have both padded shorts and shirts that will help absorb some of the shots that are sure to come his way. Further, goalie shirts are typically long sleeved, unlike the rest of the team who will be wearing short sleeves.
Lastly, remember that you will need to select soccer socks that will complement your team colors. Soccer socks are unlike traditional socks in that they are designed to come up to the knee as well as be flexible enough to house the plastic shin guards that are worn underneath.
If you are unsure where to turn at this point, the Internet is your ally. There are hundreds of suppliers online and you can pick and choose the soccer uniform that most appeals to you. Also, you can seek counsel from other coaches and organizers in your soccer league and they can share with you the suppliers with whom they have had success in the past. With a little research and intuition, you can find a soccer uniform that will make your kids excited to be a part of the team.

At one time or another we have all experienced anxiety; a natural reaction to particular stressors in our lives. Juggling career demands, personal relationships, and family schedules can provoke anyone to have moments when the anxiety becomes palpable and manifests itself in a number of physical symptoms. It is only when anxiety is persistent and pervasive – interfering with everyday activities – which sufferers turn to anxiety treatment to help manage their symptoms and bring balance and order back into their life.
Anxiety treatment – like the anxiety that we experience – is varied; depending on the severity and frequency of the episodes and the personal needs of the sufferer. Those battling ongoing anxiety often experience persistent heightened levels of panic and fear – either in general or in response to particular situations. The treatment that will bring relief must be decided between patient and doctor and only comes after a comprehensive examination and proper diagnosis.
Most often, those who turn to treatment options are experiencing what has been defined as anxiety disorder – an umbrella diagnosis that refers to many different forms of anxiety including panic disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, social anxiety, and general anxiety disorder. Not every treatment works for every sufferer so it is vitally important that each person who seeks treatment does so in accordance with their medical practitioner. Your doctor will be able to run a series of tests to first ensure that the symptoms experienced as a result of anxiety are not instead manifestations of a physical ailment or disease.
Once anxiety has been diagnosed, a treatment plan is put into place. One such anxiety treatment is what as known as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT). CBT is conducted by a licensed therapist – a reputable practioner that your primary doctor can recommend – and focuses on changing the thinking and behavior of the anxiety sufferer. Individual catalysts of anxiety are identified with each patient – particular situations that most often provoke anxiety. Once these provocations are identified, the therapist can then work with the patient to put tools in place to help the patient work through the anxiety during particular situations. Often – after much work has been done – the therapist will expose the patient to situations that provoke stress; in some cases, frequent exposure can actually desensitize the patient to the situation and anxiety levels are lowered considerably. CBT can take months to fully reveal its benefits. But often it is well worth the work as patients can learn to manage their anxiety without the use of medications.
Holistic anxiety treatment is another method used to manage anxiety. Such treatments include the taking of herbal remedies that have been shown to have effectiveness in anxiety management. However, it is important to work with a doctor in determining what herbal treatments may work for you; some are not recommended in conjunction with other medication so it is important to proceed with care. Other patients report success with such therapies as acupuncture, biofeedback – a form of self-hypnosis – and other relaxation techniques such as meditation, and therapeutic massage.
When anxiety continues even after the implementation of therapy and holistic remedies, a doctor may prescribe medication to help control anxiety symptoms. Luckily, medical advancements have made medication safe and effective when used under the care of a doctor; and many people report substantial success with the help of medications. Your doctor can prescribe the medication that is most likely to work with your particular situation.
Finally, it is important to take extra care of yourself if you suffer from anxiety. Anxiety treatment also relies on the patient knowing to what best their body responds. A healthy diet, regular exercise, and plentiful sleep can go a long way toward helping lower anxiety levels.

One of the main consumer concerns that slowed the early trend towards VOIP phone services was the concern that phone communication done via Internet would not have enough network coverage to allow for appropriate use for the common individual. When many people think of VOIP, they think of a phone that can only be used when sitting next to a home computer at home, but this is hardly the case, and the available network of areas that can use VOIP continue to grow every day!
VOIP phone systems offer an alternative to the older landline telephone services. There are many large, as well as other smaller local companies, who are involved in providing VOIP service, and as the network size continues to increase, so does the demand for service. While larger cities tend to have better coverage networks for VOIP services than other more rural places, the network of coverage continues to grow, allowing for more and more people to take advantage of VOIP networks.
There are many different options for which network you can hook up with. Much of that will depend on what type of VOIP service providers are in your area. There are many companies that act as service providers, including Skype, VoiceGlo, and Vonage, among many others. Vonage is by far and away the best known of all VOIP services, and has a distinct advantage in that it can offer a full range of services because it has one of, if not the, best network of any VOIP provider.
Vonage is mid range as far as pricing goes, and gives some of the best service. Vonage not only can replace your normal phone line at home, but with the addition of a VOIP phone, you can also have a portable phone to take with you. A VOIP phone has service wherever you can go online with the Internet, and many cities are making plans to increase the numbers of areas where free "wi-fi" will be available, which will do for portable VOIP phones what cell towers did for the cell phone.
So what about VOIP at home? The software for VOIP is online and can easily be downloaded to the computer. Once this is done, you can communicate with any friends, associates, or family that has the same software, but instead of running up the phone bill, you don't get charged long distance: you just pay for the original service and then from your home your phone service acts exactly as it would otherwise.
You even use the phone, except technically you are calling through the computer instead of an old phone line, which saves you a lot of money if you are trying to save on long distance costs. From any house with Internet and VOIP, you have the ability to call anyone else with Internet and VOIP, and you don't have to worry about chatting too long, or about what parts of the day, night, or weekend you need to call, because you're not getting charged.
In that sense, VOIP networks are rapidly becoming as efficient as many of the more traditional phone company networks, and even more so than some cell phones.

As the music industry continues to change and new musical acts surface that are reflective of the styles of trend-setting youth, we have come to embrace bands of every variety. One such band reaching a recent pinnacle of popularity is My Chemical Romance, considered to be one of the most prolific alternative rock bands of its time.
Formed in the United States, the group assembled in New Jersey shortly after the September 11th terrorist attacks of 2001. Inspired to write by the events of 9/11, Gerard Way put his feelings to paper and enlisted the help of drummer, Matt Pelissier in organizing a fledgling band. Recruited into the band shortly thereafter was lead guitar player, Ray Toro and bass player, Mikey Way – younger brother of Gerard. It was Mikey who named the band My Chemical Romance – derived from the title of a book that caught his attention.
After being signed by Eyeball Records, the band brought on its newest member – rhythm guitar player, Frank Lero in time to record their first album. The album, I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love was released in 2002 to a moderate reception. The next two years brought a series of changes for the band as they dropped their label to sign with Reprise Records.
They began a whirlwind tour following the release of their second album, Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge in 2004 – an album that quickly went platinum and prompted the release of popular singles, Helena and The Ghost of You – rocketing the band to popularity through the airwaves. Around this time, the original drummer, Matt Pelissier, was replaced by Bob Bryar, who continues to hold the position to this day.
The year 2005 was a year of touring as the band headed out on a Taste of Chaos tour – a compilation of alternative bands - and as the opening act for Green Day's American Idiot tour. But by the end of the year, the group had toured throughout the United States in support of their own album. They kicked off 2006 by beginning to record their third album – Welcome to the Black Parade which was first aired on the radio on September 11th of that year and released in stores by the end of 2006.
My Chemical Romance fans are a dedicated group who carried the band to stardom amidst a grassroots movement, and remain dedicated to the band's laidback alternative style and horror genre inspired music videos. Also adding to its popularity among fans, the band was also heralded for being among the first to offer free downloads of their songs through MySpace and other online resources.
My Chemical Romance continues to tour this year in support of their album with a legion of loyal fans behind them and packed arenas around the country. Since the band's beginning they have stayed true to the music and their own personal style – and in so doing have attracted another generation of music lovers coming up in the world.

Lasik surgery has become one of the most popular elective surgeries in the United States. With more than a million procedures performed in the United States alone, Lasik has grown in popularity as technology has become more streamlined and the procedure has been perfected by skilled surgeons who perform it on a daily basis.
As the demand for Lasik grows, more and more centers devoted to Lasik open throughout the country. LasikPlus – one of the leaders in Lasik technology – has reputable centers that are located throughout the country and are committed to providing their patients with a superior level of care regardless of the center that they visit.
LasikPlus has been able to provide patients with such superior care and affordable prices because of the manner in which they conduct their business. A LasikPlus Vision Center –regardless of where it is located – performs a similar level of care. Each center is a template of the LasikPlus philosophy.
Currently, there are fifty centers throughout the country each dedicated to providing a standard of care that includes skilled and experienced surgeons who are top in the field, comprehensive patient care that extends to pre-operative visits and complete aftercare, advanced technology that represents the most state-of-the-art equipment on the market today, professional and respectful office and medical support staff that work together to ensure a positive experience for the patient, and affordable treatment through a variety of financing options.
Lasik surgery works to correct refractive difficulties experienced by patients and that is manifested in nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism. Such refractive disorders change the way that light is refracted through the lens to the retina. When the retina receives refracted light it then converts the signal it receives to a message that can be assimilated by the optic nerve in the brain; the optic nerve translates the message that it receives into a visual image. When light is not refracted properly, ultimately the message that is received by the retina is one of a blurry image.
Through the Lasik procedure, a thin incision is created in the top layer of the cornea in order to create a flap. When the flap is folded back, the surgeon is able to access the underlayer of the cornea, known as the stroma. Once the stroma is revealed the surgeon is able to resurface the area with the use of a laser; after which the flap is replaced on the eye and natural healing is allowed to begin.
While this may be a quick procedure it is still a surgical procedure that must be completed with enormous skill and precision. The surgeons of LasikPlus are committed to offering their patients the benefits of their ongoing training. Each procedure is approached independently and begins with a thorough pre-examination to determine the candidacy of the patient and the manner of procedure that will achieve the greatest success.
LasikPlus prides itself on treating its patients with the utmost respect; each patient is given personal service and the opportunity to ask questions of their surgeon prior to the procedure. In addition, the aftercare provided by the center is well-known in the industry and focuses on comprehensive follow-up and ultimate success.

Don't much like to fly? Maybe the wonders of Namibia will convince you. So much of the best of this spectacular, vast land of contrasts is only accessible by air. There's nothing quite like cruising low over the endless stretches of parched landscape following behind a herd of black rhino or a quick fly-by of a dozing flock of flamingos amid the desert sands.
Wedged between the Kalahari and the southern Atlantic, Namibia is a chance to explore the spirit of this wide-open continent and discover the wilder side of Africa, where only the sporadic roar of a lion or cackle of hyena punctuates the silence of the night.
A short, comfortable flight south from the capital, Windhoek, takes you into the ochre stained lands of Sossusvlei, a rather inhospitable clay pan surrounded by some of the highest sand dunes in the world. Deep in the desert of the Namib-Naukluft Park the awesomely giant rusted waves of sand just beg to be climbed, and the view from the top is well worth every slippery step of the 300-metre trek. The sun rises and literally flows over the sharp peaks throwing transient shapes and shadows into a kaleidoscopic of changing colours and textures.
The richness of these ancient oxidized sands lie in stark contrast to the shimmering white land that stretches some across the heart of the Etosha National Park.
Here a fly-in safari offers the original bird's eye view from an unusual safari vehicle gliding just over the land in search of wildlife. And in spite of the blinding whiteness of Etosha's dry pan, it is home to a surprising variety of wildlife, which offers a firsthand look at the sheer magnificence of nature's survival strategies.
One hundred thousand years ago, the some 8,598 dry and cracked square miles that make up northern Namibia's Etosha National Park were awash with water. A shifting continent turned the rivers and sent them flowing toward the Atlantic. Now all that remains is a dusty, salty dried-up lake, which shimmers vaguely greenish-white like a land-locked sea.
Amid the hauntingly arid desolation of the largest, but somewhat unfamiliar game park in Africa hundreds of species of animals and plants not only survive, they flourish. And when the dusty clay soaks up the heavy rains of the wet season, a shallow inland lake reforms and draws thousands of wading birds. Pelicans and flamingoes congregate in the shimmering waters, while larger creatures, such as lions and buffalo gather along the edge of the rapidly diminishing lake, as the iridescent sands of the pan appear to blend into the cloudless sky behind them.

When the skies finally clear, and the plains once again assume their scorched, golden hues and the grasses become crisp and crackle underfoot, the whole of the Serengeti seems to take to the road.
Every year, around April as the last drops of rain dry up, millions of hooves thunder across the Mara River on their way some 500 miles northwards to the hills in search of food and water as the dry season begins, followed by the Maasai warriors herding their cattle at their own loping pace. And then around October, the million-strong herd of Wildebeest flows south once again towards the endless plains that will soon become carpeted green with wild flowers as the rains bring the burnt lands back to life.
The famous wildlife migration, which continues its annual cycle through the Serengeti region of Tanzania and the Maasai Mara in Kenya, is without doubt one of the most exhilarating natural spectacles on Earth.
Nevertheless, there's so much more to the Serengeti than the Great Migration. A trip here is to venture into one of the oldest ecosystems on the planet - the essential features of climate, vegetation and fauna have barely changed in the past million years.
Today, you'll still find the rolling grassland, acacia woodlands, and mist-draped volcanic highlands that impressed the American hunter, Stewart Edward White, when he set out from Nairobi in 1913, into lands still little explored by the white man. Pushing south, he recorded: "We walked for miles over burnt out country... Then I saw the green trees of the river, walked two miles more and found myself in paradise."
Every time of year in the Serengeti offers something different, something special - there's always the chance to see a wide range of animals in their natural habitat, set amid a backdrop of fiery sunsets and endless dramatic landscapes.
The Serengeti region encompasses various national parks and game reserves in Tanzania including the Serengeti National Park, Maswa Game Reserve, and the spectacular Ngorongoro crater, as well as the Maasai Mara National Reserve in Kenya.
Stretching almost 12,000 square miles north to Kenya and west to the huge Lake Victoria, the Serengeti National Park, Tanzania's oldest park, offers arguably the best game viewing in the whole of Africa. The unique combination of diverse habitats enables it to support more than 30 species of large herbivores, many magnificent predators and nearly 500 species of birds; from the great and ungainly ostrich to the majestic black eagle soaring over the Lobo Hills in the remote north.
For many who head out on safari, the goal is the "Big Five," named for the five most prized trophies taken by hunters: lions, leopards, elephants, rhinoceroses and buffalo. But in this wildlife haven, you may simply enjoy the unforgettable sight of a harem of impala grazing through the tall grasses, accompanied by a single buck, or a troop of baboons sitting lazily in a tree.
Whatever your favourite animal may be, a safari, or "journey" in Tanzania's native tongue, Swahili, will undoubtedly offer you adventure, extraordinary new experiences and fill your head with a lifetime of vivid memories of great herds of buffalo, zebras, giraffes, and elegantly prancing gazelles that you'll discover on bushwalks and game drives through the Serengeti region.

The afternoons are by far the best time of day in Namibia. Sipping a cool drink as the sun sits low in the African sky, bleeding the harsh desert hues into soft pastels. As the still, evening air cools from the heat of the day, the sky becomes awash with an infinite spray of stars.
Perhaps not as well known as some of its African neighbors, Namibia is a gem for those in search of wildlife and wilderness.
Inhabited since the dawn of time the local people, plants and animals have come a long way, adapting in remarkable and unique ways to their, often, harsh surroundings. The unique culture, breathtaking landscapes and exquisite silences of Namibia provide a welcome change from the frantic pace of modern life.
Large parts of the country are so remote and untouched, you'll often feel like you're the first person to discover these magical places and you'll never be lacking room to look around at your own pace.
Gliding across a sheer blue, cloudless sky over the crisscross jigsaw of the cracked desert floor – a fly-in safari offers unparalleled access to this parched and desolate land that belies the rich array of flora and fauna that calls it home.
Back on very dry land in the heart of Kaokoland, one of the last remaining wilderness areas in Southern Africa, tracking the rare desert dwelling elephant, black rhino and giraffe will take you exploring the rugged landscape amid stunning mountain scenery. Silent, huge and for the most part empty, Kaokoland is truly the back of beyond.
Along Kaokoland's northern border the perennially flowing waters of the Kunene River run past richly colored rock walls in the shade of wild fig trees, baobabs and waving makalani palms. A touch of white water rafting and canoeing offers some welcome respite from the harsh desert climes, and may bestow a glimpse of some of Namibia's impressive birdlife, as an African fish eagle and a tiny Malachite Kingfisher hunt along the banks side by side.
A short, comfortable flight west will soon have you skimming low over the desolate, unworldly sands of the Skeleton Coast, dotted with a maritime graveyard of landlocked carcasses of ships whose surviving sailors came ashore to die in the pitiless wastes of the Namib Desert. Eerily cold sea breezes blow across hot desert sands that are often shrouded by fog.
A winged safari vehicle is the only way to get around among the inhospitable sand dunes, canyons and mountain ranges of The Skeleton Coast Park, which offers a unique view of diverse and ever-changing geological formations and the refuges of black rhino and desert-adapted elephant.
A variety of local lodges offer the chance to explore and the possibility of spotting a cackle of hyenas as you scramble over this bleak landscape on a quad-bike, or get stopped in your tracks by lonely-looking flock of ostriches wandering the desert amid the shimmering sands.

Every part of one's body requires vitamins to sustain its proper health, the skin is one of the most important elements of the body that requires these health supplements. The skin is responsible for protecting the body from infections as well as producing various toxics through its pores and glands. Ultimately, it is clear why vitamins are needed to prevent acne on one's skin. This healing agent of the body needs more than just one vitamin to stay healthy. A series of vitamins are needed and are highlighted below:
Vitamin A
Many studies have concluded that low amounts of Vitamin A within the body can lead to heightened incidents of acne. Vitamin A prevents acne by eliminating or reducing the amount of sebum production within the body. Sebum is a natural body oil that is produced underneath the skin to lubricate the skin. As an antioxidant, Vitamin A takes toxic free radicals from the body. Some of the best sources of Vitamin A are green vegetables, yellow and/or orange fruits as well as carrots.
Vitamin B
Ultimately, Vitamin B includes a group of various elements such as Riboflavin (Vitamin B2), Pantothenic Acid as well as Cyanocobalamin (Vitamin B12) (among many others). These vitamins keeps one's skin in proper health. With natural elements of vitamins within them, they help to prevent acne. Some foods that Vitamin B are include in are: sweet potatoes, bananas, watermelons, chickpeas and avocados.
Vitamin C
This vitamin is vital for collagen production within the body. Collagen connects the tissue from the bones and skin. This vitamin helps fight against sickness and infections (acne included). Iron absorptions can be helped as well with Vitamin C. More of this vitamin is needed if you smoke, use birth control or antibiotics. Blackberry, grapefruit, lemon, and blackcurrant all have vitamin C within them.
Vitamin E
One of the most important vitamins that fight against acne, the ability to heal and repair skin tissues (because of antioxidant tendencies) is important with this vitamin. The cells are protected because of Vitamin E's ability to check fat oxidation levels.
Some other important vitamins for acne include chromium and zinc.

Article Title: Buying Your First Midi Keyboard

*********************** ARTICLE START ***********************
A MIDI keyboard is an electronic piano keyboard that can be connected to any electronic musical instrument that has a MIDI IN jack. By stringing one electronic instrument to another in a chain (connecting cables from the MIDI OUT jack of one instrument to the MIDI IN jack of another instrument), you can play up to 16 musical instruments at once with independent control over the various parameters of each one of them.
The musician in this way directly controls the keyboard, and through the keyboard the other instruments play each other, giving the musician indirect control over all of them. A MIDI keyboard is also often referred to as a MIDI controller keyboard, because the keyboard is the master controller of a string of electronic instruments. Ironically, in many cases the keyboard itself can produce no sound – it can only play the sounds of other instruments (and the instruments themselves cannot be directly played by a human, only by each other through the use of MIDI signals).
If you are a beginner considering buying your first keyboard (and if you want something cheap but usable) make sure that it is fully "touch sensitive":
(1) Your keyboard should support "MIDI Channel Pressure": If your press a key and hold it down, varying the pressure of your finger on the key should create MIDI channel pressure messages that will be sent to your MIDI external hardware. Depending on the type of hardware you're using, this channel pressure can be sued to manipulate parameters such as the tremulo and the vibrato. If you don't know what these are, just try pressing down on the keyboard (BEFORE you buy it!), hold it there for a minute, vary the pressure that your finger is applying, and listen for the difference in the sound of the note.
Your keyboard should also produce MIDI Note Velocity messages – the "note velocity" should increase the harder you press down on the key. Depending on the system you're using, this will increase either the note's volume or its brightness. Most MIDI keyboards support this feature, but do confirm this with your dealer.
Ask your dealer about both of the above functions – if you simply ask him whether or not the keyboard is "touch sensitive", of course he'll say "yes" – after all, when you touch the keyboard it makes a sound. But this is not enough for effective MIDI composing.

One of the problems once faced by wanna-be MIDI musicians was that humans read musical notes differently than MIDI sound modules. To oversimplify, we use letters to represent each note ("C sharp in the fourth octave, for example), and MIDI sound modules use numbers. Since most MIDI sound modules can play up to 128 notes, a MIDI sound module will number them from 0 to 127. The problems arose when different manufacturers started using different numbers to correspond with different notes. AC sharp in the sixth octave might correspond to number 61 on sound modules made by one manufacturer, and to a 49 on one made by another. We're talking serious chaos here – imagine what it would do to your composition if you made it on a Roland and tried to play it on another manufacturer's sound module. Even worse, some very disorganized manufacturers assigned different numbers to different notes even in the same sound module depending on which instrument you played. In other words, you just about needed a degree in computer science to figure it all out, and composing a song meant about 3 times as much grunt work as actual composing.
The General MIDI standard organized this musical chaos by decreeing that all GM –compliant patches must play an A440 pitch in response to a MIDI command that included the MIDI note number 69. All other MIDI note numbers were calibrated according to this standard so that the same note number would play the same note on any GM-compliant sound module, regardless of who manufactured it. Drum sounds were similarly standardized; with 48 MIDI note numbers standardized to correspond with 48 particular drum sounds. For those of you interested in a bit more detail, MIDI Channel 10 is reserved as the default channel for drum sounds. So as long as you pound out your drum parts using the GM standardized codes, and be sure to use MIDI channel 10 for the drum parts of your composition, you shouldn't be in for any nasty suprises when you try to play your composition.

Article Title: The History Of Midi Electronic Home Studio Recording

For electronic musicians, 1982 was the Year Zero – that was the year that MIDI first came on the market. It was designed as freeware – it was not patented, and was intended as a universal standard usable by any brand, so that MIDI could be used in a studio incorporating components or devices from many different manufacturers. The first of these was called MIDI 1.0, of course. Soon after that, musical instruments with MIDI jacks started appearing.
One of the early problems was that the MIDI messages that instructed the different instruments which sounds to play identified these sounds only by number ("play patch #16"), and "patch #16" might refer to different sounds on instruments made by different manufacturers. Since a MIDI studio is composed of different electronic instruments strung together in a line over cables, if the instruments and devices were made by different manufacturers, a musician might have gotten a drum sound when he intended a flute sound. What the electro-universe needed was a "patch-mapping" standard – a standardized correlation between patch numbers and the sounds that these numbers represented.
Keep in mind also the problem that the musician would have when recording a song. Unlike WAVE files, a MIDI file does not record the actual music itself – it records only the electronic MIDI commands that are delivered to each instrument, like "Play Parch #16, "Adjust Volume to [X] Level", and so on.. So even if he used all of the same brand equipment to produce his masterpiece, if he tried to play it back on another brand of equipment the sound would be different, because the command "play patch #17" would play a different sound on one brand of equipment than another. So if he took his composition and played it on somebody else's MIDI sound module, his beautiful piano solo might become a harpsichord solo. Bummer, dude. In order to correct the problem he would have to go back into his recorded MIDI file and change the commands to harmonize them with the other sound module's "patch mapping" (unless he miraculously discovered that the harpsichord solo sounded better anyway!).
In response to this problem, the General MIDI (GM) patch bank was created, standardizing the correlation between Program Change numbers and sounds for 128 MIDI patches (instruments). Because of this, there are only minor variations in the sounds created on different sound banks for these 128 patches.
