The majority of people today often find that the act of going to a new and exciting location on vacation is a much anticipated happening. Whether the trip is for business travel, a ski trip or for that matter any special trip you need only to determine that it would be a great time to go on a trip and simply go. The problem is that can be an expensive proposition. Not everybody can afford to buy an airplane ticket or can they afford to book a deluxe accommodations or in some cases they just do not have the required funds to spend when they get to their chosen location for their planned trip. Well it so happens that if you know where to look for it traveling does not have to be expensive. If this idea invokes your interest then you must continue reading this article.

    1. Use the Internet! Anyone with access to the Internet will find it simple to look for discount travel offerings ranging from airlines, hotels, villas for rent, cruises or even automobile rentals. Almost all tourist related businesses around the world now have a web site so that you can visit and obtain needed information prior to actually completing your travel plans. You can always contact the sellers directly and obtain additional information.

    2. Be flexible about the day and time you travel. During the slow days of the week you can easily find many special deals or discount prices for both airline tickets and accommodations. Airlines may have six or eight flights to your destination on a particular day. Say if you need to depart in the morning, check out all the departures that leave in the morning. Since airlines charge for tickets according to the availability of seats on the plane, moving your time by just one hour or so may save you a large amount of cash.

    3. You can also save is by traveling with a group such as a tour group, travel group or travel club. Group travel is usually arranged ahead of time by travel agencies. They buy in bulk, frequently chartering a whole airplane and reserving a large number of rooms to get the very best rate.

    4. Book early! Make your trip plans well in advance. Book your cruise a year in advance for early-bird discounts, and get the lowest rail fares just after the holidays. If you make your reservations several months before the trip you typically get your choice of flights and rooms at the best prices.

    5. Travel during the low season. For example, go to the Caribbean and Mayan Rivera in the summer because in the winter rates for villas and flights go up. Caribbean cruises are cheaper when you go in the fall versus winter or spring. Hawaii is less costly from mid-September to mid-December. Europe's best deals are offered between Thanksgiving and Easter when the locals are not on vacation.

    6. In a foreign country convert money at a local bank for the best conversion. ATMs affiliated with major credit card companies are great, but watch out for foreign ATMs. While they normally won't charge you a fee, your bank may charge you one! Learn your bank's policies before you travel.

These are but a few of the many ways you can make your vacation less expensive. All you have to do is be resourceful and pick the best time to travel and you can have that dream vacation that you have wanted so long without destroying your family budget.

On your trip to Vancouver as you start flying down the Canadian's City Airport runaway, you will be greeted by scenic natural scenery with mountains on one side and the sea lying beautifully on the other side. More emphasize as to what you should expect in the city of Vancouver is felt in the baggage claim area, as you will be greeted with large beautiful Pacific Northwest Coast Indian art carvings. Needless to mention, it will augment your overall taste of nature and create an ambience that distinguishes Vancouver from the rest of the cities in Canada.

As you drive from the airport along the Granville Street, you will notice that the hedges and trees surrounding the residential areas are taller and larger than trees anywhere else in the world. Myth has it that the oversized trees are due to the huge amount of rainfall experienced in Vancouver, but what would you expect of a city sandwiched between mountains and the ocean? The best time to visit Vancouver for a true holiday experience is during the summer months, most preferably the month of September when the sun is known to sooth and calm the skin against a scenic backdrop of mountains and calming ocean.

One of the top tourist attractions in Vancouver, which happens to be strategically located, is the Stanley Park, found on the west side of downtown Vancouver. While at the park, you get to see Vancouver's Aquarium, beautiful tall trees that seem to touch the skies and you will also get to marvel at a splendid collection of Pacific Northwest Coastal Indian art totem poles. The Stanley Park is connected to North Vancouver with the Lion's Gate Suspension Bridge on the other side of the port. The Grouse Mountain, the closest ski resort to Vancouver, is another great tourist attraction that can be visited all-year round.

If you happen to be in Vancouver over non-winter months, ensure you visit the Grouse Mountain for a memorable hiking experience and have an aerial view of the beautiful skyline that delineates Vancouver. Just nearby, there is the Capilano Suspension Bridge that you must visit. It will allow you to take a relaxing nature walk as you enjoy the calming and soothing winds of Vancouver.

Only in Vancouver do you get to sample mouthwatering delicacies, top among them the salmon. While most restaurants have specialized in making a unique salmon meal, the Salmon House that is adjacent to West Vancouver has an unrivaled delicacy of the same. The restaurant is located to give you an impressive view of the night as you unwind and relax while exercising your taste buds.

A trip to Vancouver will not be complete without bringing back home some collectibles and souvenirs, and thanks to the Gastown, Granville Island and Yaletown Districts, you get an opportunity to find great boutique shopping bargains for just about anything. Having the largest Asian community in North America, Vancouver has a shopping district known as Chinatown just near the other shopping districts, and gives you an opportunity to feel as if you visited Hong Kong.

If time is on your side, you can always take a day trip to Whistler. This is one of the most popular and largest ski resorts in North America, located circa two and a half hours drive away from the city. The drive along the Sea & Ski Highway gives you very beautiful points. Being an all-season resort, Whistler has numerous activities for you to enjoy such as biking, hiking, festivities, of course and great shopping opportunities in the village. As you ride up the Gondola, you will have a very strategic aerial view of the grand Canadian Rockies mountain range.

Vancouver is city worth a visit, if not for any other reason, to see how a major busy city has so much beautiful attractions and a warm and irresistible surrounding. If you happen to land in Vancouver on transit to Alaska or Hawaii, why not spare a day or two to see what this city sandwiched between the sea and mountain have in store for you.

Despite the fact that the Golden Ratio and Feng Shui belong to different eras and nations, they are closely linked. These are two segments of the notion that helped ancient people understand the harmony and balance that the world is subjected to.

In this article, we will explain the golden section (ratio, mean), and describe its use in conjunction with feng shui to improve homes and apartments.

One of the most ardent fans of the golden ratio was Pythagoras – an ancient Greek philosopher, mathematician, scientist, and mystic, who lived in Greece in the VI century BC. Pythagoras was convinced that there is harmony in nature, which can be expressed through numbers and proportions. He was also convinced that these proportions can be used in home design and architecture. Using his theory of proportion, you can "move" the energy in the house from where it serves poorly to where it will start serving favorably.

Pythagoras declared certain proportional relationships, which he considered ideal. He called it the Golden mean/ratio/rectangle. This value is 1:1.618. This value is found everywhere in nature. One example can be a shell, where each part is identical to the other parts by form. Although these parts differ in size, they have the same proportions.

The golden ratio can also be found in the human body. The famous drawing by Leonardo da Vinci – the Vitruvian Man - relates the proportions of the human body with various geometric figures, and is a good example of the described ratio.

The Golden section is a tool that is available to everyone, and that can be used in your home to improve its influence on those who live there. To define this number for any room, do as follows: measure the width of the room and multiply it by 1.618. Thus, you will get the desired length for this area. For example, if the width of the room is 20 feet, multiply 20 by 1.618 and you will get 32.36 feet for the desired length of this room. There's no need to follow the resulting number to the inch – it will suffice if you follow it approximately.

The principle of the golden mean can be used in one-room studio apartments that consist of one large room with a kitchen, office, and bedroom, all in one room. Feng-shui of such apartments is usually very poor. However, if you own a studio apartment, do not despair! Just follow the basic principles of space organization, make the necessary adjustments, and you will be able to improve everything. The studio can be divided into several golden rectangles, so that each part is proportional.

If it's a long and narrow space, you can use flowers and furniture as a room divider. If you don't want to divide the room this way, you can use items that correspond to the golden proportion by their dimensions, such as mirrors, paintings, coffee tables, or aquariums. You can use the same rules for garden landscape design. The golden ratio and feng shui can help to improve any home, garden, office, as well as any other area.

The island has warm, temperate weather all round the year. As due to its closeness with sea, any season change is minimal. There is warmer and humid and a little rainy period of 5 months ie from November to March and the rest of the year are dry and warm. The average temperature is 78°° F. So, clothing requirements are very casual. General summer clothes will do. One could also keep a foldable raincoat for refreshing tropical rain showers.

As for currency, the local currency is CPF- Central Pacific Franc, code being XPF. The banks located on each of the island give slightly better exchange rate than the hotels. All the hotels generally accept credit card such as American Express, MasterCard and Visa.

French nationals require only a National Identity Card for a stay in the Tahiti Island. For other nationals, they must have a valid passport, more than six months pass return date, and an outbound ticket. The French Embassy in the resident country could only issue visa. There are no work visas or residential visas are issued.

Health care system in Polynesia is advanced and modern. Apart from a big hospital in Tahiti, there are many pharmacies and private clinics in and around the island. Special care has to be taken while consuming water as tap water is not so safe here.

On security points, there are generally few thefts on Tahiti Island. Though personal attention is required. Strangers should be avoided. Valuables should be kept in the hotel room or your rental car. The safe boxes provided by most of the hotels may be used.

    Tahiti Excursion:-

There are many day trips and excursions at Tahiti Island. Some of them are fun especially for families with kids. Following are some fascinating excursions-

Swimming with Dolphins: - Some companies provide these services in the areas profound with dolphins. The visitors could jump in the water and play with dolphins. But one should be cautious about swimming. One should not enter the water after having a meal, after a heavy sun bath or after consuming alcoholic drinks. One should avoid water when one is not feeling well. The charges for one dolphin swimming are around $100 per person. A great experience for kids when the kids are old enough to swim.

Fishing: - A holiday is never over without some fishing. Though fishing is a bit expensive at the Tahiti Island (a few hundred dollars per person per trip) it is a must go for a person who loves fish. The best way to go is search for a good deal with a local hotel. They take you for a good fishing trip in the sea.

Pearl Farms: - This is the specialty of the Tahiti Island. The Island is famous for its pearl production and export. One could have a unique experience of seeing actual pearl farming.

Helicopter Tours: - One could enjoy the titillating experience of seeing the island from above. But those who fear height should avoid this.

    Tahiti Island Nightlife:-

The night at the island is equally fun as the day excursions. There are many places where one could enjoy the evening starting with a good meal and drinks and then some sort of entertainment. There are many night clubs and pubs which provide good night life. These places are full with locals as well as the tourists. The bars range from every day bars to elite pubs. Though this night fun doesn't come cheap. The pubs are generally costly and most of them require cover charges.

    Paul Gauguin Museum Tahiti:-

While visiting Tahiti Island Paul Gauguin Museum is a must go. The museum contains Gauguin's life in French Polynesia. A lot of wooden carving and engravings are at display. The museum is open daily from 9 am to 5 pm.

    Hotel and Resorts:-

There are many hotels and resort at Tahiti Island. These range from comfortable budget to luxurious first class hotels.

Using feng shui for the office can help to increase employee productivity. The aspects that may need to be adjusted include: lighting, ventilation, sound, and furniture placement.

Most offices use fluorescent lighting to decrease electric costs and the need to replace light bulbs. Fluorescent bulbs serve much longer than the regular incandescent bulbs, as well as they have larger light output. However, the savings that they offer are miniscule compared to the decrease in the employees' productivity.

Most people dislike fluorescent light, as it makes them feel weak, tired, and unable to concentrate. Some people may experience headaches when subjected to spending hours in rooms with fluorescent light. Others complain about the hum that these bulbs produce.

Feng shui for the office suggests replacing fluorescent bulbs with regular incandescent bulbs, to help you increase your business's output by improving the productivity of the employees.

Ventilation is yet another essential aspect. When fresh air is lacking, people start to feel tired. The lack of fresh air may lower the staff's performance and decrease the overall productivity of a given company.

If the office has windows that are never open, it's a great idea to start opening them regularly to stimulate and energize the employees. A powerful ventilation system can also help in this regard; however, feng shui for the office suggests that artificial ventilation is less potent than the good old open windows.

Opening both, the windows and curtains will help in taking advantage of the powerful natural sunlight that stimulates biorhythms in all living beings, including people.

Modern offices are typically located in busy and noisy locations. The sounds in an office often comprise of the traffic sounds from behind the windows and the hallway sounds from behind the walls. You can improve a lot by placing a small indoor fountain in the office or hanging chimes on the windows.

The sounds of water and wind will help to stimulate the employees' work efficiency, at the same time helping them feel more tranquil.

Furniture placement is also very important. There are a number of flaws that can be present in a given office in regard to furniture placement. For instance, if an employee's desk makes them sit with their back to the entrance door, they may feel tense and unsafe. This deep psychological aspect is inbred in us from time immemorial - if you don't see who's behind your back, you start to feel uneasy.

It is vital to move the desks so that the employees face the door. If the workers' desk is directly in front of a wall, the feng shui for the office advises hanging a picture with open spaces (lakes or fields) on that wall.

Another flaw is when two employees are sitting right in front of each other, since one of them may start to feel their energy dissipating. It is also disadvantageous if an employee's desk is slammed between furniture, making it hard for them to access their desk.

Adjusting the above-mentioned and other aspects can help you improve the overall staff's efficiency in any given office.

Making a site search engine friendly goes a long way in determining just how high, or how low thereof, you will rank in the search engines results. Getting this job done isn't as hard as many people have been made to believe, and isn't as easy also if the right advice is not followed. Here are four important things that you should implement and which are paramount to high rankings with the search engines. Needless to mention, high rankings translates to targeted traffic, which then translates to sales.

Use Keywords in your Page Titles

Keywords should also be used on the page title, which is found near the top of your website's HTML source code. It is what appears at the very top of a webpage just above the menu and is visible in a browser window. Majority of the search engines display the Title as the first top line in their listings. The search engines have a tendency to list pages that contain the search keyword in their title and as such, there is no reason why you shouldn't include your primary keywords in this important part of your webpage.

Each website gives webmasters a great opportunity to use the keywords they are optimizing for to the maximum to the website's advantage. Just look for any available avenues that you can include your keywords, but be cautious not to overuse the words as it can lead to getting banned by the search engines. Using keywords effectively on a website can pay off in the end with high search engine rankings and targeted traffic; hence it is well worth every effort.

Incorporate Keywords in the Body Text

The main text on the page is equally very important. Ensure the first lines of your text contain most of your major keywords, which should then be followed by secondary and tertiary keywords if there are any. While incorporating keywords in your content text, ensure the text flows naturally and doesn't sound forced. The importance of text on a webpage is very important even though many people don't value it. Note that the search engines cannot read keywords in marquees, flash, graphics, images or graphics. This explains the reason why websites with more images than text rank poorly on the search engines.

Add Alt Tags in Image Descriptions

Ensure alt tags are added to all your image descriptions so that you can maximize your SEO efforts. This will also help your visitors have information about the images in your website in case the images take long to load or don't load at all as it sometimes happen. As a rule of thumb, never use more than 3 keywords in a single Alt tag and never repeat the same keywords in different Alt tags, you can use common misspellings of the keywords, or related keywords but not the exact same.

Never Underestimate the Power of Headlines

Typically, a webpage can have more than one headline, as long as the headlines are search engine optimized too with the right set of keywords or key phrases separated with a dash. The main headline, the one that appears at the top of an article or a webpage, is known as a H1 tag. The second or third headlines are known as H2 and H3 respectively and are equally important. The headlines can carry more weight than other texts in the web pages, which is not out of question.

In feng shui, money trees are one of the main symbols of wealth.

An ancient Chinese legend tells about a tree with gold coins on its branches: when it's shaken, gold coins fall to the ground like drops of rain. A rain of gold coins is one of the favorite themes in Chinese art, which is often depicted in Chinese paintings. This money symbol works on the following principle: like attracts like, and money attracts money. The amulet can come in an array of options, including live plants, artificial commercial charms, and hand-made talismans. In this article, we will discuss and advise on each type.

Plants: In feng shui, money trees are plants with thick and fleshy leaves of a circular shape (the so-called succulents). To strengthen the talisman, attach coins and notes to the leaves, or put them in the pot. Avoid placing the plant next to cactuses, as this can lead to the following situation: the wealth is there, but it's complicated by problems that are as sharp as cactus spines.

Hand-Made: You can make this talisman with your own two hands. To do this, you need coins, banknotes, wire, play-dough, foil and a flower pot. Make holes in the coins, or use Chinese coins with holes. Make branches from wire and hang the coins and banknotes on them. Having made a few branches, twist them together to make them look like a tree. The trunk can be wrapped with foil or painted with a gold or silver paint. Place the construction in a flowerpot and secure with play-dough. Your work and creative energy will definitely lead you to success.

There are many ways to create money trees with your own two hands. You can glue coins onto a photo of a tree (preferably a strong and beautiful one like oak or sycamore). You can sew banknotes (rolled in tubes and tied with red ribbons) onto tree-embroidered fabric. You can put a dragon in the branches, attach a motto on the trunk, or put three red lights at its base, etc. In Feng Shui, they traditionally place an image of an owl onto the tree - this symbol of wisdom will save you from wasteful investments.

Commercial: You can also find nice commercial items. A popular example is money trees that stand on gold bars, and have gold coins on their branches (the material can be anything, as long as it's painted in a gold color). Ancient feng shui texts refer to a tree that stands on a gold bar, which shows a dragon and phoenix. This symbol is more potent than the one in a pot. Another option is the tree that has its leaves made of precious stones, such as jade or carnelian. And finally, you can find the trees with peaches instead of coins. These give many years of happy life. A peach is a symbol of longevity, spring, love, and happy relationships. To find a soul-mate or improve your current relationship, put it in the southwest section of your room.

Placement: Whichever type of wealth symbol you choose, it needs to be placed properly. One of the popular areas is the southeast or northwest section of a living room, or any other room in your home. Alternatively, the talisman can be placed near the home or office entrance.

Costa Rica is Spanish for 'the rich coast' and true to the name, this beautiful country in Central America is affluent not only in eco-tourism but also in beach resorts. At only 19,560 square miles, the tiny country, whose official language is Spanish, has a lot under its name for tourists to do and explore. It is bordered to the South by Panama and to the North by Nicaragua and boasts of being the most prosperous and stable country among all Latin American countries.

Costa Rica boasts a very diverse selection of bird species not found anywhere else in the world, in actuality, the bird species found in Costa Rica alone cannot match any found in North America and the entire of Europe. With that said, the micro-climates and eco-systems in Costa Rica are equally diverse in that apart from the coastal beaches, one will find dense jungles as well as rain forests with a very wide gamut of flora and fauna. It is due to the moisture of the mists found on the trees of these forests that some of them are referred to as cloud forests. Ensure you visit the forest that has a cable car set up that provides an aerial view of the flora and fauna of the place.

If you are a dare-devil, there is an opportunity for you to swing from one tree to another over a myriad of ropes attached together. As for changes in microclimate, you can be able to tell the difference in as little as 30 minutes of travel in the area. Costa Rica equally boasts of easily accessible volcanoes, some of which have turquoise colored lakes forming over their craters. A must see volcano is the Arenal, a very popular volcano that allows tourists to watch eruptions from a facility in close proximity to it. The facility has a beautiful outdoor hot spring that is heated by the volcano itself.

Away from the eco-system, there are numerous sporting activities one can enjoy in Costa Rica, top among them scuba diving. Costa Rica offers a truly unique scuba diving experience unrivaled by that experienced in the Caribbean waters.

Sloths, jaguars, monkeys, reptiles, and birds are few of the exotic wildlife you will come across. What is more, if you are a lover of sea turtles, you will not be disappointed because certain beaches host these beach dwellers during their nesting period. The huge amounts of plankton available in the local waters act as a major attraction to large marine animals.

With that said, Costa Rica is accessible by air through its Capital City San Jose. Be advised that the capital city also has some attractions that might captivate you, such as colonial architecture, but the city might not be very safe for tourists, besides being overcrowded and polluted. However, you can use the city as your base for day trips to the different tourist attractions. Many tourists love to fly into Liberia, a town that borders the city on the northern part, and which is a bit quiet and serene and close to some of the top resorts in the north.

Bottom line, there is a lot waiting to be explored in Costa Rica, reason why many tourists will always go back after their visit as one cannot be able to explore all the treasures in a single trip. Costa Rica has become a popular and favorite tourist destination and has forced the government to set up tourist offices in North America to furnish travelers with enough information about the place.

Regardless of the self defense method you use, the key to escaping an attack is knowing how to utilize it correctly. Even though pepper spray is designed so that anyone can use it effectively, there are still some tips to keep in mind to make sure you're using it as effectively as possible.

A pepper spray canister works like a can of spray paint or hairspray. Just aim at your attacker's face and press the button. Most are designed to be used with the index finger, while others are more comfortably deployed using your thumb. Understand what type of canister you have and how it is best to hold it in order to feel comfortable using it.

While you're holding the pepper spray, never reach your hand out in front of you. This gives a chance for the attacker to smack the canister right out of your hand. It's better to hold the canister closer to you, spraying from a slightly greater distance, than to hold it far in front of you in order to spray from a closer distance without actually having to move your body closer to the attacker.

As you shoot, keep your eye on the attacker. You may be tempted to shut your eyes tightly to shield them from any potential effect of the pepper spray, but it is absolutely critical at this point in time that you watch your attacker being sprayed with your self defense spray. Shoot for 2 to 3 seconds, watching the reaction of your assailant. If it looks like you need to utilize another spray, do so immediately. Many attackers will turn and run at the first sign of pepper spray, while others will need several bursts of pepper spray before they're incapacitated.

Once the pepper spray starts to have a visible effect, leaving your assailant coughing, choking, or slumping to the ground, begin backing away slowly. As soon as it's safe to do so, run quickly to a safe location.

There are several ways of aiming the spray at your attacker. One is simply to point the canister towards your attacker's face and spray it while holding your aim steady. Another is to use the 'fan technique,' spraying quickly from side to side, which allows the spray to cover more ground. Always keep your eye on the assailant to be sure that no matter the technique you use, the spray is reaching their face.

Not only must you know how to use the pepper spray, but you also must carry it properly. Pepper spray will do you no good if it's at home in a desk drawer while you're being attacked. Always carry your pepper spray in the same location, such as a jacket pocket or a specific area of your purse, so that you can grab it quickly. Know where your canister is at all times, always make sure your canister has plenty of spray, and know how to place it in your hand quickly.

While these are the basics for using pepper spray effectively, always check your local and state laws before carrying a canister of pepper spray for self defense. Many have rules regarding what types of pepper spray can be carried and where they can be used. By understanding these rules, you can use your pepper spray confidently when the time comes to protect yourself.

From ancient times, people in Asia have used feng shui fountains to let a piece of this natural force into their homes.

Today, artificial fountains have become extremely popular everywhere. They come in all sizes and designs, and can be used indoors and outdoors. Their design may or may not look Asian. After all, feng shui is not so much the trappings, as the atmosphere. It's believed that any type of artificial fountain will bring good luck, abundance, prosperity, and success in career.

Fountains are very popular in feng shui because they possess the energy of water - the most ancient and powerful symbol that is similar to life itself. In life everything constantly changes, and joy and happiness always come after sadness. The water is just as volatile - first it rushes forth with a raging stream, then slows, and then starts again. Water is in harmony with life itself. It is one of the key concepts of Eastern philosophy, representing the volatility and stability. Water epitomizes the source of life - life itself once occurred from water, and is sustained by it. The feng shui fountains will activate the energy of water, and start to invisibly change your life for the best.

What feelings do you experience when you listen to the murmur of a brook or the sound of a small waterfall? Perhaps, it's difficult to describe in words. Your thoughts find their appeasement, and you feel fine. The numerous stimuli of large cities often create stress, and this can be fought with fountains that replace stress by good feelings. These fixtures will help you feel in harmony with yourself, other people and the everyday environment. They will make your life more harmonious. Herein lays the deep meaning of feng shui.

Fountains are indispensable in offices where there is a tense working atmosphere. In homes, the orderly murmur of the water will make rooms more comfortable and enjoyable for recreation and reflection. They exude great freshness, distribute healthy negative ions, and moisten the air indoors (most modern homes and offices need extra moisture in the air). The fountains are also remarkable as a home decoration.

The best places to install feng shui fountains are: the East (for health and family), Southeast (for prosperity and abundance), and North (for career). The location of the fixture can also agree with Bagua and the five feng shui elements. The only place that you may want to avoid is the bedroom, because it can cause trouble falling asleep.

It's a good idea to look for high-quality units with a quiet pump. You may also want to look for those that are easy to keep clean. You can put natural crystals or stones in the fountain, to enhance the good energy. You can also purchase a design that allows adding aromatics, to further increase the pleasant and relaxing ambiance in your home or office. The feng shui fountains will create a supportive and relaxed atmosphere in your rooms, and connect you with the primeval source of life – the water.

The main goal of a webmaster is to increase the amount of targeted traffic towards their website. Sadly though, many webmasters today don't factor in the design of their website and by design it is not about colors, graphics or images, it is about a website being optimized. When looking to list your website on link directories, always ensure you list with a high quality, recognized and reputable web directory in order to get targeted traffic and bolster your rankings. You would rather have a few high quality links than many useless links.

Listing in web directory links can either be free of charge, paid, or free with a reciprocal link. Always go for a link that can be traced and followed down, and list in a directory category of the same content as your site. One of the most critical reasons why you should submit to directories is because the web directories are human edited. As such, the search engines will always crawl the directories first as they place very high value on the sites listed in directories. Websites found related to the search query will get high listings in the search engines results page. Directory submission of websites is a well established but sadly often disregarded search engine optimization strategy that can work wonders on the amount of targeted traffic towards your site.

One of the things that you as a webmaster should do is to edit and ensure the title is within the required 60 characters maximum. Use your real website title and make sure it is a true reflection of your site because the website title is always displayed in the search engines results page. Coming down to the description, it has to be precise, correctly written with no typos or spelling errors. Many websites today that are submitted to directories get rejected not for any other reason but because the description doesn't meet the rules of the directory. Your site description should be written in the third person and shouldn't include excessive marketing. Ensure you include your Unique Selling Proposition on the site description.

Even though the description will more or less resemble the description style of nearly all other sites in your niche market in your targeted directory, it still has to be very unique. Still on point, you have to ensure that you use the right keywords, title, and descriptions all in their right category.

With that said, it is important to keep in mind that not any directory submission will provide you with the targeted traffic that you want. Also, be advised that you will get almost immediate link popularity when you submit to the RSS directory submission. Some of the free link directories available today have a poor Google Page rank hence may not be the best sites to submit to. Paid directories on the other hand have a competitive edge as the free directories are at times thought by the search engines as spam perhaps because of the simple reason that the sites aren't optimized well.

Link Directories are platforms for website owners seeking to exchange their site's links for the purpose of generating traffic through search engine optimization. They are great resource centers for developing and managing contacts of related sites as well as posting and reciprocating links. Link Directories have over time generated a lot of interest as a way of organic traffic growth and are equally effective.

    How Link Directories Work

The concept and need of linking website has grown out of two reasons; one, related sites trying to ease information accessibility and two, generating much valued website traffic. High traffic optimizes search engine's ranks which has the multiplier effect of building more traffic and even higher ranking with search engines. It is for these reasons that site owners are keen to link their websites with content related sites. Link Directories provide the much needed platform for this.

    The Best Stop for Starters

Much as link building is held with such high regard, established web site owners are only keen on exchanging links with you if your site is well ranked on search engines and/or if you will guarantee a front page link on your website. This has always proved an uphill task for SEO starters or for new websites, as garnering a first page rank with search engines takes time and must grow organically.

For starters therefore, link directories provide the best information shop for meeting new owners who are willing to build their link bases from the scratch. There are also site owners who would not mind a second or third page link placement on your website, as long as the website is content related with theirs. It is such contacts that are highly valued, again due to the multiplier effect of traffic generation.

Other Valuable Link Building Options worth Exploring:

    As mentioned, link building is a proven tool of building traffic to your site. It is therefore worth the time exploring other options of link building, other than link directories. These include;

    - Forums participation. This involves being a member of forums related to your site's content, posting comments, solutions and opinions and leaving a signature with your website's link. The advantage with this tool is the content-related traffic you will get.

    - Yahoo (and related) Answers Sites. Websites such as Yahoo Answers are highly rated on search engines and participation in such sites is a great way of creating visibility of your site. As forums participation, you need to leave a signature at the end of your comment/answer which will lead others to your website.

    - Running ads on popular website. This may prove expensive for starters and new websites but it is a proven way of generating content-related traffic. Search Engines run a per click cost charge on your ad through Google analytics. One of the advantages is being able to track where your traffic comes from and therefore knowing where to focus your linking efforts on.

    - Article directories. Writing and submitting search engine optimized content articles in article directories is a popular way of generating traffic. Options here include writing the articles yourself or hiring a content writer experienced in lead generation writing.

Article Title: The Ancient Feng Shui Compass Lo Pan

    *********************** ARTICLE START ***********************

The name of the Chinese feng shui compass Lo Pan consists of two words - Lo ("all") and Pan ("bowl").

The Lo Pan compass reflects all of the earth's circles and lines, and is used to obtain information about the landscape surrounding someone's home and office, as well as to draw up detailed geomantic tables.

Lo Pan is made up of circles, the number of which can reach 36 in some cases. Each circle is used to study a particular aspect of feng shui. There are 3 types of Lo Pans: the San He School, San Yuan School and Zong He School (combined compass).

Any feng shui compass has a Heaven Pond circle with a sensitive hand in its center. The Heaven Pond is surrounded by the Early Heaven Bagua circle with protective properties. The rest are the circles with ancient feng shui formulas. All this is placed in a red square. The larger the compass, the more accurate the data is. The accuracy is very important if you use formulas where the difference of 1-2 degrees could change the whole feng shui.

Following are the requirements for a quality compass: The disk with formulas and the Heaven Pond should rotate smoothly. The crossing of the red threads must be directly above the needle. If you align the last disk to 0 degrees from one side of the thread, the opposite side of the thread should point to 180 degrees. If all of these requirements are met, then it's a high-quality Lo Pan.

In feng shui, there are two main directions - the Form School and Compass School.

The Form School takes into account the landscape that surrounds a home, as a manifestation of four animals. A large black turtle (a mountain) is behind the building. A green dragon (mountains or tall trees) is on the left (if you stand with your back to the door). A white tiger (low trees) is on the right. A red phoenix (a stream or river) is in front of the house. The Form School for interior is based on comfort and security. For example, this school teaches us not to sit with our backs against a door, because we don't see who is outside, which may pose a potential threat.

The Compass School is divided into two schools: the San He School (3 harmonies), and San Yuan School (3 periods). The San He School (3 harmonies - heaven, human and earth) believes that feng shui is always either good or bad. The San Yuan School (3 periods) takes into account the time and believes that feng shui of a home varies from period to period. The circles on the Lo Pan compasses of these two schools differ from each other, but both have a circle of "24 mountains". Any feng shui compass divides each of the 8 directions (4 main and 4 intermediate) into three sectors, which make a total of 24 directions.

The Feng Shui practice often requires the use both compasses, so there is a combined Lo Pan that combines the formulas of both schools. Since it is impossible to accommodate all of the formulas on the same disk, they take only the most frequently used formulas.

Do you think that just locking the front door when you leave the house is enough to keep an intruder out? If so, you're not alone – but this is not enough! Unfortunately, criminals are becoming more and more skilled at breaking into even the most protected homes. The internet has even become a way for criminals to learn more about how to break through common home security barriers. Still, they tend to seek out the easiest targets, and this means homes whose occupants have done nothing more than shutting the windows and locking the front door.

Take a minute to look over some of these weak points typical of most homes. Do any of them apply to your home? In order to effectively protect yourself from the threat of home invasion, take steps to correct these problems now!

    1. Garages and outbuildings. Whether a great distance from the main home, or sharing a wall, these areas of the property are often forgotten about when it comes to home security. An attached garage is a particularly big security risk, since the doors and windows leading into the garage tend to be less well protected than other entrances. It's also likely that you keep valuable possessions, such as vehicles and tools, stored here. A resourceful thief could even break into a garage to get a ladder of crowbar, then using these devices to break into the home itself. To prevent this from occurring, treat your garage and out buildings like an extension of the home, protecting it with the same home security devices.

    2. The yard. Speaking of the areas around your home, did you know that the appearance of your yard can either entice or dissuade a potential burglar? Most homeowners overlook these factors, believing that home security starts at their front door. A yard with overgrown hedges and trees gives plenty of room for a burglar to hide as they pick a lock or break a window to get inside.

    3. Spare keys. You might think it's good common sense to leave a key under the doormat or in a flower pot. After all, you don't want to lock yourself out of the home, right? In fact this is one of the most common ways for a burglar to enter into the home. Thieves know all of the most common places to check for a spare key. If you feel that you must keep a key outside, conceal it as well as you can, and avoid using any of the most common hiding spots.

    4. Relying on flimsy locks. If a window or door is locked, that means a burglar can't get in without a key, right? Actually, burglars have been known to pick locks or smash windows, even in broad daylight, in order to get inside. Fix this security weakness with wireless door and window alarms, and install sturdy deadbolt locks on all entrances to the home.

You don't want to wait until your home has been broken into to find out that you're making common home security missteps. If your home is an easy target, take steps to correct this today!

Located circa 200 miles east of San Francisco lies one of the most popular parks in the US – Yosemite National Park. This park receives over 3 million tourists each year all eager to explore the charming landscape, steep cliffs and attractive waterfalls the place has on offer. It takes circa 3-4 hours to drive from San Francisco to Yosemite National Park by road, but the trip is well worth it as there is so much in place for you including hiking, rafting in Merced River, professional photography, camping, horseback riding, biking, snowshoeing at the Badger Pass, and skiing.

Yosemite National Park is particularly popular among mountain climbers thanks to the 3500ft vertical granite wall of the famous El Captain. Even though the park spans 308283 ha , the most famous part among tourists is the 7 square miles of the Yosemite Valley. The park is most visited starting from early spring to early September ie from February to May.

Entrance fee in Yosemite National Park is $20 per car and is valid for seven days. You can opt to drive around the park yourself but the management encourages using the free available shuttle buses heading to most popular spots for purposes of ensuring the park remains free of pollution and of course to maintain uniformity and the park's natural charm. The only place you are allowed to buy food while in the park is Yosemite Valley. While all the main roads are well maintained and beautifully plowed over the snow season, the National Park Service management expects that all drivers driving private vehicles carry tire chains. Even though high traffic is very common particularly at the entrance, it is always worth it keeping in mind the charm that awaits you ahead.

Tioga Pass – this is circa 9950ft high from the ground level and provides stunning views of the national park. Tioga Pass is only accessible over the summer months around June and July since the place is located at a height that receives quite heavy snow during the winter months. You will also get an opportunity to see some charming wildflowers and sequoias.

Half Dome – this is a granite dome in the park found on the eastern part of the Yosemite Valley. It is arguably the most familiar sight of the park, with its crest rising to over 4,737ft above the floor of the valley.

Glacier Point Road -- this is circa a 30 miles drive from the main visitor's center and is always open from late May to November. The Road gives the most impressive and stunning views from the height. Most tourists will take short stops, hike and take pictures.

Tunnel View – This spectacular sight is located south of the Valley Floor at the east portal of the Wawona tunnel. The tunnel view is simply breathtaking. This popular spot is one of the most photographed views of the valley.

Mariposa Grove -- this is the biggest grove of huge sequoias in Yosemite National Park. The biggest Tree – Grizzly Giant is around 1800 years old.

    *********************** ARTICLE START ***********************

As a jeweler, you face unique security challenges because much of your inventory costs more than most people earn in a month. Handling expensive items on a daily basis means you absolutely must make safety and home security a priority. A thief won't think twice before stealing your livelihood and your entire inventory. Jewelry has long been a favorite target of criminals looking to make a quick buck. Working with high-priced items means you must invest the necessary time and effort to protect yourself, your family, and your business.

First, consider the security surrounding your store or showroom. Most jewelers keep their jewelry under lock and key, with locking display cases and a safe. Among the many security devices used by jewelers are surveillance cameras, motion detector and glass break alarms, and door and window alarms. Because of the high value of your inventory, make sure that you pay attention to every detail, every day: review the security footage, hide the jewelry in a safe, lock the door, and activate the alarms.

Once you leave the store, the risk to your security doesn't end. First, make sure that you are not being followed home from your showroom. Be particularly alert in parking lots and while driving home from your business. If you must take jewelry home with you, carry it on your person or in an unmarked, nondescript bag. The goal is to be as discreet as possible when carrying valuable possessions, whether it's jewelry or some other expensive item. Head straight home, rather than making several stops with the jewelry in your car.

There is no need to be paranoid, but the fact is that your line of work does put you at greater risk of being mugged or robbed. Consider carrying a stun gun, pepper spray, or another self defense device to thwart any potential attack. Still, remember that protecting your inventory is not worth putting yourself at risk. If a mugger demands your jewelry, hand it over. The jewelry can be replaced, but your life can not.

At home, install security devices to protect you and your family. This is true even if you don't routinely bring any part of your jewelry inventory home with you, but especially critical if you do. Home security cameras and alarms will help to protect your family. These devices are important for every homeowner to install, but especially so if they work with expensive items such as jewelry. Treat your home with the same level of protection as you do your store.

There is no need to go about your life in a panic, but it is important to realize that being a jeweler can expose you to a higher level of risk when it comes to criminals targeting you and your business. Make every effort to be on high alert, particularly when in or around your store or handling your inventory. Install the necessary security devices and use self defense products to protect you, your place of work, and your home.

In Chinese mythology Chi Lin (Qilin, Qi Lin) is a magic animal - the most important one of all that live on land.

According to legends, it is one of 9 sons of a dragon, which can distinguish between good and evil. It is sometimes included in the list of four noble animals, along with the Chinese dragon, phoenix and tortoise - instead of the tiger.

As a rule this animal is depicted having a few horns, green and blue scaly skin, hooves of a deer, the head of a dragon and a bear's tail. In some aspects it resembles Western unicorns. Like the European unicorn, Chi Lin symbolizes longevity and prosperity. It is believed to live for at least 2000 years.

The Chinese believe that it is always lonely, and appears only during the reign of an outstanding ruler or when a great sage is born or dies; for instance, it was seen shortly before the birth and death of Confucius. It can only be seen by the chosen ones. It is considered a harbinger of happiness.

On his back, Qilin may have babies. Legends state that it brings extraordinary children from heaven. Like the stork in the European tradition, in China it brings a long-awaited heir to the happy parents.

It is also mentioned in connection with some important events in the history of China. For instance, five thousand years ago one Chinese emperor was sitting on the shore near the Yellow River, when he saw Qi Lin. The dirty water of the river turned crystal clear green. Chi Lin stood before the emperor, stomped on a rock three times, and spoke to the emperor in a voice similar to a temple bell. When Qilin turned to leave, the emperor saw magic signs on his back, and copied them. According to legends, this is how the first written language appeared in China.

The mention of this mythical animal goes back to the days of Confucius. Back then, it had a more peaceful appearance. When walking, it did not cause any harm even to insects (like the image of the Lamb in Christian mythology). When stepping on the grass it did not crush it. It fed on magic grasses. It could walk on water and fly. Carved on gravestones, it would protect from evil spirits, as well as accompany the dead to heaven. However, over time it changed its appearance and symbolism - once a symbol of peace and gentleness, it also acquired the features of power and strength.

In Feng Shui, Qi Lin symbolizes long life, celebration, magnificence, joy, wisdom, and famous children. It is a gentle, kind, and benevolent creature. It carries a mystical good omen. This feng shui talisman is believed to help facilitate the success of children. Chi Lin's images or statues can help women who wish to have a child. The main function of this talisman in feng shui is the elimination of negativity, and to attract wealth.

If you want to place this talisman in your home, remember that this charm should face toward the exit. You don't need to activate it; however, it "likes" to listen to folk songs and fairy tales, and this is supposed to make it work harder for its owners.

While cars certainly provide freedom and convenience, cars can also be quite dangerous. Even if you are a safe driver there are many other drivers on the road that may not be. With cars, lots of things can go wrong. You could be hit, or hit something or someone. Any of the thousands of parts on your vehicle could break or malfunction. A car is a complex machine with lots of parts and it is not uncommon for cars to break down at some point in their life. Cars are also financially valuable, making them a target for thieves.

Although there is no promise that your vehicle will last forever without causing problems, all of these issues can be limited by using the right car safety products. These devices may not completely eliminate these problems, but they can limit them, and even make things easier if any of these problems happen to you.

One form of car safety device comes in the form of products that protect your car from being stolen. Not all systems work the same way; offering many different options when it comes to preventing a thief from driving away in your vehicle. Most anti-theft devices either keep the thief from getting inside your car, or prevent them from driving it. One of the first and most popular of these anti-theft devices is the "Club," which locks the steering wheel, keeping a thief from being able to steer the car. This device will deter someone who's looking for an easy target.

Other devices to prevent car theft are car alarms, which include professionally-installed ones as well as devices you can install yourself. These systems not only sound the alarm once someone's already broken in, but the blinking light lets potential thieves know you've protected your car. Often, this is enough to act as a deterrent, preventing them from even attempting to steal your car.

Your car isn't just at risk when it's parked. While driving, any number of things can go wrong, leaving you stranded at the side of the road. Roadside emergency kits – containing flares and a range of other solutions for common automobile emergency situations – can be invaluable. Other examples include large, heavy-duty flashlights and fire extinguishers meant to be kept in the vehicle.

Some car safety products prevent you from getting into trouble in the first place. Some examples include systems to stop you from coming in too far when parking in the garage, or systems that alert you if you are going to back up into anything like pets or children when leaving the garage. Backup cameras might seem like overkill for your average family car, but in fact they are a great choice for those with kids or animals that might be in the blind spot, making them unable to be seen from the car's mirrors.

Whether you are concerned about theft, mechanical failure, or accidents, there is a wide array of car safety products out there to calm your fears.

Perhaps the most popular buzzword today in the internet marketing world is SEO but even so, only a small percentage of the people running internet marketing campaigns can truly stand up and claim to know what SEO is all about. This lack of knowledge about SEO has contributed to not tapping the SEO world fully for it to work as effectively as it should. Even so, even seasoned internet marketers still find it hard to execute their SEO strategies and techniques for maximum effect.

The most critical part for running any kind of business, as any marketer will tell you is advertising. This is because without advertisement, you will not be able to reach new clients and present your products and/or services to them. The advantage of running a business online is the fact that there are free advertising opportunities that can help you reach a very wide and large target audience beyond all geographical boundaries. This form of advertising is optimal search engine rankings.

Typically, search engines rank websites based on complex algorithms designed to tell apart the most relevant sites for certain search terms. It is therefore imperative to take the time and effort to SE optimize your site for relevant search terms to enhance your chances of getting high rankings on the search engines for the selected search terms. High rankings are very important for any website because web surfers rely and trust the top search results for what they are looking for. Therefore, top search results should be your target as they increase traffic towards your site which can increase your sales significantly.

Now that you know the importance of SE rankings, it is only natural to wonder just how the SE rankings are achieved. The easiest and perhaps cheapest way, depending on how you view it, to optimize your site is to hire an SEO expert to do it for you. This is because SEO being the complex and dynamic industry that it is, is continually evolving and changing, making it very hard for many business owners who aren't SEO specialists to be up-to-date with acceptable industry standards.

As mentioned, the search engine use very complex algorithms and factor in different things before ranking a site. Such factors include Meta Tags, anchor text, Titles and title tags, inbound and outbound links, web content and amount of traffic. Keyword density is simply the number of times a certain keyword or keyword phrase appears in the content of the site. The idea behind keywords and rankings is the notion that the search engines assume that when a keyword is used repeatedly, it should be very relevant to the content. You ought to be cautious though not to overuse the keywords lest you send wrong signals of keyword spamming and get banned from the search results.

Meta Tags are HTML codes used by the search engines to evaluate and determine the content in a website. Therefore, the major keywords and key phrases can be beneficial if placed effectively on the Meta Tags.

The search engines also use inbound links to rank a site. These are links from other sites to yours. The search engines rank the relevancy of links by evaluating the rankings of the website wishing to link to yours. As such, you should make sure you get links from high ranking sites so that you can benefit greatly and boost your rankings.

As for the content, it can either bolster or take away your rankings and traffic respectively. You should ensure you have relevant, informative content on your website on a regular basis. The content equally has to be optimized for the relevant keywords. Still on point, you have to update content on your website on a regular basis because search engine spiders love fresh content. Needless to mention, fresh content will bolster your site's traffic because your potential clients will always be coming back for more information.

Why put up a fence around your property? There are many possible motivations behind this decision. Perhaps you're tired of people cutting across your lawn. Maybe you want to lounge on the grass in peace. Perhaps you feel the need to keep your children within your property, or the neighbor's dog out. Still others feel that fencing improves both the safety and privacy of their home.

Regardless of your reasons for installing fencing around your property, be sure to consider the impact of this decision on your home security. Most people automatically assume that a fence improves their home security. The increased privacy of fencing is both a good thing and a bad thing. While a tall and sturdy fence with a locked gate may keep some criminals out, on the other hand a tall fence provides the cover a criminal needs to break into your home without anyone catching them. If you're installing a fence because you're worried about home security, you may be better served by surveillance cameras, motion activated lights, and similar home security devices, unless you wish to build a tall and impenetrable fence around your property.

A fence tends to add a false sense of security, and too many homeowners become lax on their other security measures after installing a fence. Remember, a fence only serves to stop a burglar from getting inside your property. Once they've breached the fence, don't give them free access to the home by leaving your doors and windows unlocked or failing to protect them adequately.

A fence can be designed to keep people, pets, and things in, or it can be designed to keep people out. A good fence may serve both purposes. The overall security of a fence typically comes down to the height and materials chosen. Though the most popular types of fencing material are wood and chain link, there are other options. If you're concerned about a burglar taking cover behind your fence, consider a chain-link or open lattice style, or build a shorter fence, like the classic white picket fence.

Regardless of the type of fence you choose to build, there are steps you can take to make the perimeter of your property as secure as possible. For example, make sure that the gate closes and locks securely. Consider installing a motion detector, surveillance camera, or dummy camera near the gate. These give the impression that the entrance is being watched – even if it's not – and are likely to ward away criminals considering breaking into your home.

Keeping a fence safe goes beyond the use of home security devices. Carefully consider the location of trees and bushes so that they are not planted to provide cover for a burglar or a way to climb up and over the fence. Regularly inspect the condition of your fence, and replace damaged portions quickly. Broken fencing sections may become a hazard for pets or children, or make it easier for a burglar to enter your property.

Do you sell your own services and products online, or are an affiliate marketer or MLM? Whatever the case, there are key online marketing techniques that you should be aware of and which can drive more traffic towards your site. What makes the difference in internet marketing is how internet marketing techniques are applied and not being in a particular niche or industry. The secret in internet marketing lies in going exactly where your clients are ie marketing where the products are most wanted.

In other words, targeted traffic is marketing where the product is wanted; where you and your competitors target. Needless to mention, targeted traffic is the answer to higher site conversion and of course more sales. Here are the top 5 techniques that will help you get more traffic towards your site regardless of the competition or the industry that you are in.

    1. Search Engines

Unless someone knows your site by name, the search engines are the easiest gateway to be found on the WWW because nearly everyone today uses the search engines. While you shouldn't rely fully on the search engines, you should ensure your website get indexed by the search engines so that your target audience can be able to reach you.

    2. Identify Your Market

This is self explanatory, the moment you identify your market, you will be in a better position to know the kind of products and/or services that your target audience want. This may not directly boost your website's visibility online but indirectly it will help boost your conversions. To identify your market, you can start by visiting forums related to your theme, visiting your competitor's websites, and posting polls and blogs on your website.

    3. Article Writing

Article marketing is arguably the most effective techniques of driving targeted traffic towards your site because of the reason that it will help you build very valuable backlinks towards your website. If you really are not into article writing, you can start by writing how to, lists, or tip sheets, such kinds of writings are loved as they are straight forward and easy to read.

    4. Link Exchanges

A few years ago link building was very valuable, but not the same anymore. However, link exchange is still thought to be an effective way of promoting a website online. This is the process of exchanging links with other webmasters who are on the same niche as you. This helps you build referral links - something still considered valuable as it is a way of endorsing your website.

    5. Build a List

This isn't an internet marketing technique per se but it is equally important in driving targeted traffic towards your business and helping you build and grow your business. List building entails recycling your traffic, building relationships, as well as increasing your website's conversions for more sales.

When all is said and done, the most critical thing to keep in mind is to respect your potential clients. You wouldn't like to be spammed with adverts and junk mails; neither do your potential clients. Start by building a respectful relationship, which will lead to build of traffic and of course more sales.

In this article we will give a number of feng shui health tips for those who want to boost both, their general health and emotional state.

Following are tips to boost your health using feng shui fountains, salt water cure, plants, air, light, color, and sound. All of these means will help to purify the energy in your home, increase the healthy energy Chi, decrease the unhealthy energy Sha Chi, and thus promote health.

Fountains: Fountains are an extremely powerful feng shui cure. Water is the source of life, and humans consist of 60% water. Fountains create a soothing and relaxing sound that helps to reduce the everyday stress and tension. They help you feel better, similar to how you feel in nature. Moreover, fountains add moisture to the air and emit healthy negative ions. You can place them anywhere you want, except for the bedroom, as it may disturb your sleep.

Salt water cure: This purifier captures the bad Sha Chi energy and improves health; this feng shui health charm can be purchased or made. It is made using a pilsner glass, salt, six Chinese coins, and water. It is placed where you want to purify or boost the energy, such as the health zone, wealth, love, or career zone. You need to be careful not to touch it or move it too much. The glass will start to form crystals from the "captured bad energy"; it needs to be replaced when a number of larger crystals build up; it needs to be discarded in a sealed container.

Indoor plants: Plants purify the air and promote positive energy Chi. They can be placed anywhere in your home; plants with round leaves will also help to boost wealth.

Air: Air is essential to humans - we breathe in air every few seconds. Air is like an invisible fuel for our bodies. The feng shui health tip in regard to air is to open the windows in your home/office frequently, even if it's just for a few minutes at a time.

Light: Light has a large impact on humans. The best light for us is natural light, and the worst is the flickering fluorescent light. Fluorescent light bulbs have become a part of our interiors. Many people use them in corridors, and even kitchens and bathrooms, as these light bulbs cost less and last longer than regular ones. However, fluorescent light is extremely bad for health – it has been known to cause dermatitis, bipolar swings, fatigue, and headaches in some people. The feng shui health tip: replace fluorescent bulbs with regular wherever you can, and try to create more access for natural light in your home.

Color: Colors impact our mood and feelings. For instance, green is neutral, blue is relaxing and soothing, while red is energizing and agitating. If you suspect that your rooms have wrong colors (colors that you don't like), consider redecorating these rooms using the colors that make you feel good.

Sound: Sounds are also important for our health – they need to create a soothing and relaxing atmosphere. You can use wind chimes, bells, and indoor water fountain for pleasing sounds indoors.

Article Title: Sweeping Asbestos and Asbestos Claims Under the Carpet

    *********************** ARTICLE START ***********************

A series of radio adverts aimed at warning tradesmen of the dangers of asbestos have been banned. The adverts from the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) included the line, "Every year there are more people killed by asbestos than in road accidents." It was this that has sparked a series of complaints and resulted in the HSE withdrawing the advert. The Asbestos Watchdog challenged the adverts, claiming that they were misleading and exaggerated the likelihood of tradesmen developing an asbestos-related disease such as mesothelioma. However, the HSE has countered this argument saying that the figures were calculated by counting the number of male and female death certificates that quoted the disease as the cause of death in 2004-2006 and then estimating and adding on the number of deaths caused by lung cancer directly attributable to asbestos exposure.

The figures have been disputed by the Asbestos Watchdog and the Advertising Standards Agency upheld the complaint, leading to the withdrawal of the adverts. They agreed that the figures that led to the quote were based on estimations and could mislead the public by presenting as definitive figures, rather than estimations, and ruled that the adverts could not appear in their current form.

So a potentially effective advertising campaign has been completely scuppered on the basis of a technicality. Those involved in fighting for compensation for victims of asbestos exposure are dismayed at the message that this affair has sent out, feeling that the challenge is an attempt to try and remove the spotlight from the horrendous body-count asbestos exposure has already accumulated. The entire decision hinges on the estimation of lung cancer deaths, rather than deaths as a result of the aggressive cancer mesothelioma. The reasoning was that, because lung cancer deaths caused by asbestos were clinically indistinguishable from those caused by other factors such as smoking, the number of deaths was an estimate rather than a definable quantity. The HSE commissioned research to calculate those estimates, which showed a ratio of one asbestos-related lung cancer death to every mesothelioma death for the period 1980 to 2000. They added that a number of people died from other asbestos-related, non-cancerous diseases every year. Using these figures and the ratio of 1:1, the HSE said it was able to conclude that around 4,000 people died every year from asbestos-related cancer between 2004 and 2006.

The issue here is not how the figures have been arrived at (although perhaps a little more preparation on the part of the HSE would have prevented this situation from arising in the first place). The issue is how this whole affair will damage the efforts of those fighting for compensation for asbestos exposure and whether a vital campaign to bring a heightened state of awareness of the dangers of exposure to the deadly dust has been killed off before it could do any good. There is fault on both sides - the HSE should have considered how its figures were arrived at and that any hint of 'estimated' figures would be bound to cause problems when it came to justifying such a claim. But there is no doubt in anyone's mind that exposure to asbestos has been and continues to be an ongoing problem, particularly amongst those who work in buildings that still contain asbestos. Awareness of the dangers has to be continually spotlighted if there is any chance of preventing more unnecessary and painful deaths from asbestos exposure. Perhaps it's time that the HSE and the Asbestos Watchdog combined forces to present an effective, accurate and highly publicised campaign that makes it very clear how deadly exposure to asbestos really is. Asbestos Compensation Claims are expected in the years ahead.
