The big question is "Can hypnosis cure phobias?".
When the hypnotist you are asking answers with a resounding "yes", the next thought is usually along the lines of "yeah, right".
But you'd be amazed at the high success rate that hypnosis has with phobias.
Top athletes regularly use hypnosis in all areas of their career. One of these areas that they may not be quite as public about is a fear of flying. After all, how can something as common place as flying be something to be afraid of? Surely almost every plane that takes off lands again safely?
Yet fear of flying is a biggie.
Hypnosis to the rescue!
By getting to the core of the fear, hypnosis can turn round the fear of flying and let you face an airport without turning into a quivering wreck.
The same goes for any other fear or phobia you've got.
For instance, if you've been afraid of heights since childhood, you can listen to a hypnosis MP3 and watch the fear melt away. This won't mean that you will lose the natural fear that kicks in when you are about to do something stupid from a height. But it will mean that you can climb a tower or tall building and admire the view, without your knuckles turning white while they are gripping the nearest safe object.
Public speaking is another very common fear. Truth be known, most of the audience probably don't care what you are saying in your presentation. They're just glad that it's you who drew the short straw rather than them. You can use hypnosis to boost your confidence in public speaking so that you don't break out into a cold sweat the next time you are asked to speak in public.

Negative calorie foods are really a misnomer. It isn't possible for a food that you eat to have a negative number of calories, that's just plain impossible. What people really mean when they call something a negative calorie food is that you burn more calories eating it than the food gives you. So, on balance, you have "eaten" a negative number of calories because you've eaten, say, 20 calories and used, say, 30 calories eating it. Net result: 10 negative calories eaten.
So what sort of foods are negative calorie ones? Are they all boring foods that you wouldn't want to eat anyway?
For some of them, the answer is probably yes. You can't imagine anyone (rabbits excepted) wanting to eat a large plate of lettuce and nothing else.
But there are plenty of other negative calorie foods that might start to get you excited.
Would you like to eat a nice juicy apple? That's fine as it counts as negative calorie.
Fancy a plate of strawberries? Again, no problem. At least not until you start salivating at the thought of adding cream. But fresh strawberries with no sugar and no cream count as negative calorie. If you're on a low carb diet, they score fine for that as well.
Quite a few other fruits count as negative calorie, so you don't have to force yourself to just eat apples and strawberries. Pineapple is fine as well. So are cantaloupe melons, blackberries, raspberries and cranberries.
Just think, you could make yourself a delicious fresh fruit salad and still be on your way to losing those extra pounds.
On the veggie side, take a look at carrots. Nibbled raw they are tasty and you won't consume any extra calories. Add in some tomatoes and peppers for a colorful and tasty side salad.

If you really want to become a good player of poker games such as Texas Holdem you need to have ways in which you can actually improve your game. Certainly one of the best ways available for a person to be able to do this is by taking part in free online Texas hold em games (tournaments).
It is through these games that a person can learn how to play this particular poker game without it costing them anything. Instead when they play these games they will use play money. But the problem is that there are quite a number of players who actually play these games for too long and they can actually become worse rather than better players and will find it difficult when it comes to playing a real game of Texas hold em for real money.
The reason why this occurs is that when a person takes part in these games they are not actually having to risk their own money so for some they are not bothered if they play well or not. But instead what these players should be doing is actually using these free online games instead to teach themselves how to play the game better as well as help them to learn to control their emotions better (so that their opponents are unable to decipher what type of hand they have) and it will also help them to learn about the betting habits of the other players as well.
The whole idea of a person using free online Texas hold em games is to allow them to get to know everything about the game when first starting out. It is a great for them to learn to know which hands they should carry on playing and which hands they should fold on.
With any game of poker including Texas hold em a player does not need the ability to be able to beat the other players, but rather the ability to help them figure out what is the best way to beat them when at the table. Taking part in a free online Texas hold em game will provide you with an idea of how to beat your opponents (other players). Then after a while you can start to move on to playing in games for real money rather than play money and this will then help you to hone your skills and knowledge further all of which you have acquired whilst taking part in free online Texas hold em games and which have made you in to the player you are today.

Losing weight is a praiseworthy goal for many people. Maintaining a healthy weight can reduce the risk of heart attack and other serious medical conditions while making you feel more energetic and more agile and helping you enjoy your life to the fullest. However, embarking on a weight loss program can also be dangerous for your health if you do not take proper precautions. Before you jump start searching for weight loss programs, you should always consult with your doctor.
Why do you have to see a physician before starting to lose weight? Weight loss isn't a medical problem, it's something that people do every day, right? Some of the top reasons to see a doctor before starting a diet include:
* Losing too much weight too quickly or not getting the nutrition that your body needs are both problems that many dieters face which can do far more harm than good.
* Changes in your body weight can affect your body's reaction to medication. Your doctor should be aware that you are trying to lose weight so that you can make any necessary changes to the dosage of prescription or over-the-counter medicines.
* Your doctor can help you rule out medical reasons for your weight gain, such as hypothyroidism and diabetes.
* Starting heavy exercise after you have been sedentary for a while can pose health challenges that your doctor can help you overcome.
* Your doctor can also advise you about which weight loss programs are safe and which you should avoid based on your specific circumstances. That's something that no book or website can do.
Some people are reluctant to talk to their doctor about weight loss programs because they are embarrassed or because they feel they will be taking up their physician's time for nothing. But remember that your doctor is there to help you manage every aspect of your physical health including your weight, and that taking this important step now can help you achieve your goals more effectively.

General information
Machine embroidery is a special type of embroidery, performed by special automatic machines, functioning according to the man's adjusted program.
This man is designer, constructor. He creates the embroidery program (design) - the machine operation algorithm, which can be in consequence repeated unlimited number of times. The machine following the given program, automatically executes the embroidery on material. In this way, the main features of machine embroidery are the absence of manual labor at the stage of outright embroidery, and the possibility of embroidery samples duplication.
The machine embroidery is a recent kind of activity, in contrast to manual embroidery, existing for thousands of years. The machine embroidery began its existence nearly 50 years ago and in 1980-ies the demand of the profession of machine embroidery designer began to grow. Nowadays the demand is actually as well. During the period of machine embroidery existence, its creation technology has changed beyond recognition.
The machines that once used as source of information the punched card, limited in speed and quality of embroidery, were replaced by microprocessor-based, highly productive, multihead machines with advanced technology equipment, optimizing the embroidery process.
The process of machine embroidery technologically consists of two closely associated stages:
The embroidery designing stage, or the construction stage of machine embroidery-represents the process of creation of embroidery machine program. At this stage are developed the construction components of machine embroidery.
The technical stage represents the direct embroidery manufacture by means of machine. At this stage are developed the technical components of machine embroidery.
Both this stages are at the same time quite independent from the point of view of manufacture, which helps to differentiate them and to mark out two different basic types of industrial activity accordingly. It is a question of enterprises that are specialized directly in program creation, or in materially embroidery creation. Each of these manufacture branches develops round itself a branching infrastructure system.
For example, nowadays there are a great number of producers of special program maintenance for machine embroidery, of embroidery machines and special concomitant equipment producers, of outlay materials producers, used for embroidery manufacture. Many companies, in accordance with machine embroidery branch needs are adjusting the directions of its activity. For example, the producers of textile dye stuff make special adjustments of qualities and spectrum, the clothing producers change the construction, adjusting it to the technology of machine embroidery manufacture.
Field of machine embroidery use
Historically the embroidery had, first of all, a decorative character. Nowadays this essential property favorable affected its use in advertising branch. We frequently see the embroidery bearing advertising-informational character, on clothing objects and other ready-made garments.
Machine embroidery as advertising; informational bearer
Embroidery can be an effective advertising-informational means, at the same time without loosing its artistic expressiveness. It is frequently used at trade marks plotting on the cloth, leather, felt, as well as on complete products, clothes etc. At embroidery it is possible the reproduction of trade mark of all color combination. The trade mark, plotted on by this method, frequently turns into fashionable attribute of article and becomes an organic element of its composition. It is possible to embroider on different types of clothes, including uniform, working clothes. The embroidery as characteristic index to any current of activity is widely used in many countries. Very often the firm workers bear the differential sign of their company. It can be a logotype on the head gear, on the front side of the sweater or on the back side of the jacket.
The cloth embroidery, on many indexes passes ahead of its "rivals", like serigraphy or decal decoration (transfer seal). The embroidery is more lasting, the steadiness of threads color is higher, the volumetric texture of embroidery confers more expensive and spectacular shape to the logotype. That is why most of the firms, dealing with advertising campaigns development, recommend to their clients the very embroidery. The embroidery can be performed on different parts of clothes and on different articles. On head gears (caps, knitted caps), sport shirts, shirts, tolstovkas, even on footwear.
Technical constituent of machine embroidery
During the cycle of machine embroidery manufacturing is applied different means and tools. However, starting from the availability of two basic stages of manufacture, it can be market two fundamental corresponding tools of machine embroidery.
They are:
The computer with appropriate program maintenance and peripherals on the construction stage of manufacture. Automatic embroidery machine with concomitant supplementary equipment on the technological stage of manufacture.
Let us list the fundamental information of industrial automatic embroidery machines and some supplementary special concomitant equipment. Industrial automatic embroidery machines according to fulfilled activity and principle of operation can be divided in two groups:
Universal automatic embroidery machines.
Special automatic embroidery machines.
To special automatic embroidery machines can be attributed the machines using not quite standard embroidery methods, machines that are able to perform embroidery on out-of-the-way places of complete products and on materials that are difficult for embroidery. To one of the most commonly used type of special automatic embroidery machines can be attributed the so called Schiffli, machines that allow making embroidery with the utilization of decorative cord, to cut through material and at the same time to process the cut by embroidery. These machines are mostly used for finishing of light and thin, translucent, fashioned and other smart cloth and articles made out of it. For instance, Schiffli machines are often used at wedding dresses decoration.
Quite recently it appeared a new interesting kind of automatic special embroidery-the so called no-thread-embroidery and automatic no-thread embroidery machines. The principle of operation of such machines has a remote conformity with principle of producing of needle-punched fabrics. It consists in the fact that the machine with a set of needles (24 needles) runs through the structure of the main (working) material the locks of fibers of special auxiliary material. The auxiliary material is laid under the main material. After the auxiliary material removing on the main material remains an effective, specific pattern (picture).
Nowadays the leader in production of no-thread embroidery machines is the Japan Company Tanaka. In 2001 fashion show in Berlin and Paris were presented impressive collections made with the help of no-thread embroidery on "Vari-O-Matic" machine of this company. To universal automatic embroidery machines are related the machines of lock-stitch with coordinate displaced frame holder which is meant for manufacture of embroidery with threads on classical and most widespread materials and articles. The use of such machines supposes some limitations in properties of used materials and constructions of complete products.
But these limitations are constantly growing narrower due to constant modernization and improvement of universal automatic embroidery machines and due to use of manifold auxiliary facilities and special devices. All known universal automatic embroidery machines are of lock-stitch type of machines and the structure of many parts of the mechanism has many similarities with lock-stitch embroidery machines.
The main parts of single-head universal automatic embroidery machine are column, case, frame holder and head. The case is fixed on column and consists of pole and cantilevered arm. Inside the upper part of column is installed the stitch mechanism. Inside the case is installed the main shaft mechanism. On the head is disposed a set of needle mechanisms with thread takeup and thread guide mechanisms. The head is able to shift from case in the horizontal position, engaging with the main shaft stirring up the needed needle mechanism.
This enables the machine to make the shift of the thread color at one embroidery run. The frame holder mechanism is able to shift the frame holder in a horizontal level in four directions from the active needle. The shift is made in step-type on coordinate according to given embroidery program. In this way the machine can make loch-stitches on material of different length and in any given order and direction, executing if needed the shift of working needle with the thread of the definite color. The industrial automatic embroidery machines can be both single-headed and with few heads and with corresponding number of necessary working mechanisms. The last are called many headed or multihead automatic embroidery machines.
Under normal conditions of embroidery all the heads and frame holders mechanisms works synchronously.
The basic indexes of industrial embroidery machines
Speed of embroidery.
It is expressed through quantity of stitches per minute. The embroidery speed can be adjusted both manually and automatically while embroidering. The optimal embroidery speed of modern machines oscillates between 700-900 stitches per minute. Maximum speed reaches 1200-1400 stitches per minute.
Number of working heads.
In modern multihead machines the head numbers come to 2-4 heads.
The size of working area or the maximum size of used frame.
This index is concerned with possible size of performed embroidery. It is expressed through correlation of length and width of the working area in millimeters and is regulated for flat and cylindrical frame (used for caps, sleeves, etc). There are spread the correlations 800x600, 500x400 and other-for flat frame; 360x75, 400x350 and other for cylindrical frame.
Needle quantity.
It is equal to the number of needles on one head. It is defined by maximal possible number of thread colors used at one run of embroidery. The possible needle number in modern machines is from 1 to 12. The most spread are the machines with 9 needles. Other important indexes are the noise and vibration level, the compatibility of machine with different standard embroidery programs, the presence of accessories, error of linear measurements of embroidery elements.
The accessories can be presented through different additional hinged device for automatic let-off of decorative cord or ribbon, broadened control terminal, systems of laser and video navigation of working area, additional laser trimers (device for thread cutting) and other.
The concomitant equipment can be presented through devices of embroidery evaporation, various press equipment for adhesive chevron and braid production, special cloth-cutting machine in the form of laser cutter-machines, that can automatically cut of or drift on markings on cloth, which is widely used at combined with embroidery applique'works production.

Spiritual purification is not an intellectual process, but one that is initiated by the creative power of light - the very force of Creation that was manifested at the beginning of time and that furthers Divine intention throughout time.
Spiritual light travels across all dimensions of reality, both physical and non-physical, affecting one's body as well as one's consciousness. This is particularly true for those who are already more light-filled and more sensitive to energies. But it is also true for those who are less sensitive.
While some people, today, are making a deliberate effort to purify, there are many more for whom this development is taking place without conscious intention, due to the intensification of spiritual light on the Earth. As those aspects of consciousness that are not aligned with light are uprooted from body, mind, and emotions, they begin releasing into awareness, bringing new understandings and experiences on all levels of being. Some of these experiences are uplifting, some difficult to sustain. The process of clarifying and releasing on all levels, based on the action of light, allows the soul greater access to the outer personality-self, and forms the foundation and fundamental process of purification.
Light is also the Intelligence of God, conveying truth, love, and inspiration to the consciousness of mankind. Its purpose, to reveal a new vision and awareness of sacred reality to humanity so that mankind can live in direct and conscious relationship with the Source of life.
Though the purification process follows certain general principles, it is unique to each individual and can be entered into with different degrees of depth and commitment. Though it is meant to touch every level of human experience, its particular focus will be determined by the areas in need of healing in individuals.
For example, some may experience spontaneously arising intuitions of dietary changes that are needed to promote health. Unlike intellectual knowledge, these can come suddenly into consciousness, without prior intention or study in this area. Behind such intuition lies the intelligence of light and of the soul, conveying to the psyche which foods will promote greater healing and growth and which will not. Also, on a physical level, unusual symptoms may occur for a period of time that are undiagnosable, caused by the movement of energy that is rearranging and opening pathways within the body.
In other instances, attention to mental process may become a central focus of purification, with greater light illuminating tendencies of mind that may be disturbing but that nevertheless influence behavior. Here, the striving toward separation from unwanted mental influences, and movement toward positive states of mind, become central to the purification process.
Emotional purification is a significant area of healing for most people, and as an effort is made to engage with this level and to become more conscious and responsible for the emotional energies one carries, undesirable ways of feeling and perceiving that may have seemed intractable in the past can finally be set free.
In the most basic sense, purification has to do with purity – with the aspiration toward cleansing the body, mind, and emotions of all that is separated from God's light and love. This cleansing results in a return to one's spiritual roots and identity. As the process unfolds, it deepens the desire to place one's spiritual life in the center of life, and to allow the rest of life to be shaped around this.
The level of commitment to the purification process grows as authentic experiences of spiritual reality take place, and also as the heart opens to greater truth. When these two developments are present in a powerful way, commitment can happen simply and with an absence of conflict. When they are less present, fear or resistance may be experienced by that part of the self that wishes to continue with habits that do not serve the wholeness of one's being. Such fear can gradually be absorbed by light as one continues with the process. However, it can also cause a turning away if one feels unready to deal with underlying issues.
In the end, the depth of purification will be determined both by light-conditions on the Earth which accelerate and deepen the process, and by the nature of the soul and the degree to which it has begun to communicate with the outer self.
As light increases on the Earth, the tendencies of mankind will naturally gravitate toward the development of a spiritual life, one in which the desire for the sacred arises spontaneously from one's heart, and in which nothing that is physical is separated from one's spiritual identity and core. In this way, all of life will become sanctified, and mankind will finally be able to open doors of perception and knowledge that have long remained closed to ordinary human experience.

Article Title: Living Without Blame - The Way Of Peace

*********************** ARTICLE START ***********************
There are circumstances that arise, today, in which it can feel entirely justifiable to blame others, both on the collective level and on the personal, and yet the energy that we give to blame is not conducive to producing any effect other than to cast us even further into a depth of discouragement and despair.
Blame is the ego's way of protecting itself from feeling helpless. It arises in situations of frustration and deprivation, and instead of allowing us to feel grief-stricken or filled with loss or sorrow in a way that would help us heal, blame creates an active component of feeling – a sense that there is something we can do about the distressing circumstances we are dealing with. By engaging with blame, we tell ourselves that we are taking an active step in asking that justice prevail, or that others who are the cause of our distress become different.
Here, it is important to separate two things: the desire that circumstances that cause pain, suffering, or deprivation be different, and the energy of anger or blame which we bring to the situation. For this energy, instead of being useful to us in a larger sense, ends up using us so that we do not see the full picture of how to work within the situation or what changes within ourselves the situation might call for.
This is the truer version of life's opportunity in relation to situations of deprivation or pain – that we find within ourselves a willingness to trust and to align with the positive in life rather than the negative, by being willing to absorb our own pain, and instead of sending back into the world more pain that others can receive from us, to hold our own pain within ourselves and send back good instead.
This attitude may feel like it is beyond us, especially in instances where pain seems too great or deprivation or loss too severe. At such times, it is necessary to pray for an enlargement of the heart so that it can become big enough to hold what needs to be held, knowing that it is possible with Divine help. For this is the challenge of deprivation and sacrifice, not that we accept it in the sense of doing nothing to change the external conditions that may have led to it, but that we become able to find a measure of enlargement within ourselves so that we can bear pain without creating more of it for others. We do this not because we wish to suffer, but because we are identified with the lot of all in life, not just with our own lot.
The expansion of the heart in relation to its capacity to hold loss and sorrow and its desire to convert these into something that will be of benefit to the world, has a transmutative effect on the feeling of anger or blame. That is, it removes the need for these, and instead gives us a capacity to live freely and in peace with whatever circumstances life brings to us. Such a perspective does not create passivity as some would fear, but reflects a determination to be a force for good in the world and one that will be of benefit others.
In addition to this motive, another arises from the fact that blame and anger take from us precious energy and focus that would otherwise be able to contribute to the forward motion of our own lives in immediate ways – in decision-making, in planning, in imagining, and in just being able to be in the present in an ease-full way. Often, hidden from our waking consciousness, yet active, the negative energies that we hold within ourselves are disturbances to our own sense of peace. Sometimes we can feel them directly as eruptive anger or as another disturbing emotion. At other times, they operate as a wound below the surface of perception that cannot be healed because it has been left unattended.
The place of peace lies in the freedom to choose which emotional currents we will permit in our emotional house, and which we will leave behind. Those who seek peace must seek also to let go of the desire for anything that would conflict with this goal. The mind may not know how, but the heart knows the way. To begin to create peace within the heart, it is necessary to lay down one's arms, metaphorically speaking, and to determine to live in a way that is blame-free. When the heart truly desires this, the soul will find a way to teach the lessons of peace and the mind will progressively learn to accommodate.
May all beings who seek peace in the world find rest in the knowledge that it already lies within them, waiting to be found.

*********************** ARTICLE START ***********************
There is a heart that beats at the center of the world, and it is the heart of humanity's Divine origin and the heart of God as well. This heart suffers with all who suffer. It feels cold with all who are without shelter. It rejoices with those who have found their way home, and it is saddened by the loss of hope that occurs when injustice prevails and cruelty seems to be the norm. This heart that is the heart of the world is also the collective heart of humanity, and it needs to be reawakened to its true potential, for over time it has become separated from its light and its truth. Over time it has become separated from its Divine origins.
The earth itself is the bearer of this heart throughout time, holding it in reserve until such time as consciousness can awaken and human beings recognize the true nature of the bonds that exist between them. Meanwhile, over the course of centuries and eons, the earth has had to carry the suffering of humanity in total – all of the pain and all of the indifference and neglect that men have visited upon one another that time and progress in many other areas have not been able to erase. And so the suffering of the heart of the earth continues, and waits for the time when the planetary body, which includes humanity's consciousness, shall be illumined by sufficient light so that it shall be recognized as a basic fact of life that all are one, and that what is done to another or to the earth herself is done to oneself. At present, this is merely a theory for most or a speculation – something that one can agree to in principle but often not in practice. And yet the immediacy of truth comes with a kind of knowing that is similar to that which occurs when the sun appears and night disappears into morning, or when the warmth of the sun can be felt upon the skin, brushing away the residues of morning's chill. With such immediacy of feeling, and even greater than this, will come the knowing of the relationship of every living creature with every other. It will not have to be a matter of discussion, but will, instead, be a matter of embodied experience. This stage of spiritual knowing, for most, has not arrived yet, but it is on its way.
Meanwhile the heart of the earth grieves for her children who are lost to her each day – lost in pain and desolation, and victims of the cruelty and false principles that allow man to inflict incredible harm upon others in the name of God. These false principles have a great deal of power now to affect people because they are fueled by forces that intensify visceral feelings of hatred and the desire for revenge, and diminish the capacity for forgiveness and for tolerance. The earth feels each of these actions of man's inhumanity to man, and they each become part of her energy body as she waits for the advent of greater light to release her from this bondage and to release humanity from the darkness that is affecting its consciousness as well.
Over time, the presence of hatred and cruelty, of man's inhumanity to man, have played a significant role in the course of human development. They have given rise to entire civilizations and been the downfall of others. They have been the source of wars, and have often turned former victims into later oppressors. They have allowed for the destruction of property, of culture, of lands that were held as sacred, as well as permitting such violent actions as rape and enforced exile to those who appeared to be strangers or foreigners, not belonging to one's own. All this to further one's own ends, often having to do with greed and possession. This history is not the only history of the earth, for there is a light-filled side as well, but it plays a substantial part in how we have come, today, to contain many groups of people who can still legitimately seek the destruction of another group of people.
The changeover to a new consciousness is already on its way, and will become more visible with the advent of greater light which, at the same time, will bring the residual darkness that has lain in the background of consciousness to the foreground of awareness. This is what is happening today on the world stage, namely, that what is released into consciousness as residual darkness is being felt more strongly and often being acted out more ferociously. Nevertheless, the greater light will also provide the larger container into which all that is dark and unloving shall finally be absorbed and dissolved, disappearing into a vastness that is larger and more powerful than the darkness itself.
For the moment, we each aid in this process by recognizing the consequences of our every thought and action that contributes to the balance of light or of darkness upon the earth. No longer can we think of what we do as not mattering. Every action and every thought, every word spoken and every gesture, tips the balance one way or another. This is because the energy stream of collective awareness is made up of individual consciousness and whether seen or unseen, there is not one thought or action that we think or take that does not affect others. For this reason, it is a time in which we either stand with the purposes of light upon the earth by becoming contributors to that purpose, or we fail to stand in this way and detract from the power of light to overcome darkness.
As the light intensifies within each individual consciousness, bringing about greater purification, and as the earth becomes infused in her planetary body by this increasing light, it is necessary that we remain faithful to the sense of purpose that aims at transforming the planet into a habitat of peace and goodwill, where darkness, enmity, and the destruction of life anywhere will no longer seem like a viable option. This is the deepest prayer of the heart of the earth and it must become the prayer of each individual heart as well.

*********************** ARTICLE START ***********************
Beloved Ones, the passage into death is not one to be feared, but one that signals the completion of one phase of life so that another can begin. For in truth, there is no such thing as death, only ongoing life for souls in an ever-expanding process of exploration and learning. The journey is infinite, as are the capacities of each and every soul.
Nevertheless, the emotions created by the loss or anticipated loss of a beloved one are painful to the ones who remain behind, even when there has been a long process of anticipating such an event, and even when the loved one is elderly or quite ill. Even then, the ties of connection can remain strong and the difficulty in letting go can remain equally strong.
What needs to be understood is that these ties of attachment are more than just emotions felt for a period of time. Often, there are karmic ties of long standing that have created deep energetic connections which can be felt within the body. For this reason it is both physically and emotionally true that the loved one feels like a part of oneself. The energetic ties create a sense of relationship over years and over lifetimes. They create a sense of sharing a life with another, even if that other is far away. When the other departs or is on the brink of departing, it can feel as if a piece of oneself is departing as well. In fact, this is literally the case, for following the transition from the physical plane, and sometimes even before it occurs, the energetic ties to those departing begin to be severed, not totally, but enough so that there is an experience of the separation that can be felt in a physical-energetic way. At times, following the death of a loved one, this rupture can feel quite severe, as if there were a forcible ripping away of part of oneself. These are the energetic ties that are leaving along with the physical body of the one who has departed. They are not the ties of love which are able to remain.
How then, given the degree of loss and attachment that can be felt toward those who are loved, is it possible to let go with grace? The answer cannot be a general one, for each individual heart is different, and each one loves in their own unique way. And yet there are components that are similar. The first lies in the willingness to deeply feel the loss, sadness, or grief that may be involved, knowing that there is much of life and learning that is incorporated into the letting go process itself. This process involves teachings that are profoundly intimate that can open the heart to greater life and greater love.
At the same time it is important to entrust the departing one to God and to the future unfoldment of their own journey, as well as to trust the continuation of one's own journey. This assurance of goodness in the presence of death is a foundation for being able to let go with grace, and the absence of this assurance, more than anything else, allows the emotions of despair and loss to become paramount without the softening feeling that arises from trust in the future.
It is also important to understand that the nature and timing of death is part of the life-plan of each soul, built into the blueprint for each incarnation as much as any other feature is built in. This does not mean that the plan is immutable, for there are still choices that remain to each soul regarding timing and regarding the manner of death. There are also new decisions that can sometimes be made, especially when a strong period of spiritual growth has taken place and new factors enter the picture. Yet, for many, the time of transition has been chosen by the soul in accompaniment with Divine will and wisdom prior to arriving on the earth, and despite the suffering that may be involved, the process itself is a significant part of life - as great a teacher as any other aspect of life. In fact, the passage through death is often of greater significance, both in the dying process itself and in the final moments of breath. Often, a soul learns during these final moments more than may have been possible during an entire lifetime.
There is no remedy for the sadness of loss which is an intimate part of love. And yet loss and sorrow can be accompanied by joy, for the heart is large enough to hold both. If all of life is a saying "hello" to circumstances, people, and events that cross one's path, then all of life is also and simultaneously a saying "goodbye" to those same circumstances, people, and events so that something new can take their place. Yet in the midst of this, in the presence of ceaseless change, what remains is love. For the bonds of love are enduring and cannot be severed by death. This is the ultimate comfort in the presence of death and dying – that the bonds of love can grow roots within the heart itself, and once implanted there, are able to remain forever.

Volunteering in Kenya also offers a range of opportunities for those who love to be close to nature and wildlife. A part of overseas volunteer work, wildlife and environment conservation programs in Kenya offer opportunities in animal welfare, biological research & conservation, wood cutting, fixing fences, ground patrol, protecting natural resources, reforestation, wildlife surveying and many more.
A typical volunteer for working in Kenya doesn't need to have any kind of special education. You just need to be inspired and ready to work for a cause with passion and dedication. One of the key qualities required is the ability to adapt to the environment. There are times when volunteers from US or Europe are unable to eat the food prepared in Africa by a local Masai woman and it is not just about food, it is about complete adjustment and you have to become one with the project. The recommended age is 18 or more for any of the programs. Nationality or religion doesn't matter for volunteering in Kenya.
Volunteering in Kenya teaching programs involves teaching in elementary and high schools and the subjects can vary from mathematics to English, science, social science, geography, history, painting, cooking and music. It doesn't matter whether you have any prior teaching experience or not. It all comes down to one thing: Are you ready to volunteer for a cause?

Africa is a vast continent but most of it lies in the shadow of poverty, malnutrition, drought, lack of education and civil wars. From the famines of Ethiopia to the poaching of wild animals in Kenya, Africa has seen it all. Volunteering in Africa has been a major consideration of Non-profit organizations worldwide.
Different people have different reasons to opt for volunteer work and it can vary from the desire to learn new things about new cultures and societies to travel and gratification through social work and helping mankind. Some people are so devoted to the cause that they have spent their entire lifetime in Kenya, Ethiopia, Uganda, Nairobi etc, while others do as much they can. Volunteering abroad and in continents like Africa, South America and Asia can be an enriching experience with a satisfaction or gratification that is almost incomparable.
There are different organizations requiring volunteers overseas and especially in Africa. Some of the organizations and projects involving volunteering in Africa are:
The Cheetah Recoil Program: This program is being organized at the Marsabit National Park, Kenya as a part of providing opportunities for volunteering in Africa. The Cheetah is the fastest animal on land but off late, due to extensive poaching, the population of Cheetah is almost near extinction. This Cheetah program has been designed specifically for volunteers who have an interest in wildlife conservation and are willing to travel overseas to Kenya. The requirement is for volunteers in groups of 20 who will work in a specific area along with some senior research co-coordinators, game wardens and scientists.
The Azafady Project: The project is being run by an UK charity organization and they need volunteering in Africa to effectively alleviate poverty, and at the same time improve and protect the unique and beautiful environment and wildlife. Their overseas volunteer program is two fold. One program is called the Pioneer Madagascar and it offers opportunity for volunteers to work at the grass-root level and create a system through which environmental degradation and poverty can be fought. The second project is called the Lemur Venture which is a lemur conservation project focused on protecting the already threatened population of lemur.
Global Service Corps (GSC): They are an organization who offers overseas volunteering opportunities and this includes projects in Tanzania, Africa. Their volunteering in Africa program involves participants to stay with Tanzanian people in their homes and learn about their life and culture. Volunteers share their own experiences and culture and through daily interaction educate the people of Tanzania. The project areas for volunteers include HIV/AIDS prevention, health, creating sustainable agriculture to prevent hunger, working with hospitals, farms, schools to impart information and create a social community.
There are many more organizations who offer opportunities to volunteers to visit Africa and make a difference. You can also take up volunteering in Africa and the benefits are:
1. You will be able to give something back. There are many people who feel the need to give back to the society and are passionate about their cause. If you are such a person then volunteering in Africa programs can provide you with a great opportunity to pursue such a cause.
2. If you are looking for a unique opportunity: There are many projects focusing on people, poverty, social issues, disease or health etc., but there are not as many projects on wildlife and ecosystem conservation. If you are interested in a wildlife conservation project and want to become a volunteer and pursue a related program, then it will be a unique opportunity that will ultimately provide satisfaction.
3. If you are looking for experience: There are many people who take part in overseas volunteering projects to gather experience required for their career goals or to start their own non profit organization. Either way, volunteering in Africa will provide the necessary experience and much more.

Thousands of small retail traders are making a living, and some a fortune, from trading options and you are eager to take a shot at it too, aren't you? So, what are some of the things you must know in order to master options trading?
What are stocks and shares and how they work
Stock options are derivatives of shares. This means that you need to know what shares are in the first place in order to understand the role of options and how options work. In fact, you will need to be a master of stock and shares behavior before you could be a master of options trading because options are merely tools that help you exploit these stock and shares behavior profitably.
What options are
Sounds like common sense but most options traders start out thinking options are just "another stock" which you simply buy low and sell high. Those who jump into their first options trade like this usually get a shock of their lives when they either realize that options don't quite move the way they expect them to move and don't quite behave the way they expect them to behave. Knowing how options work and what their underlying mechanisms are, the logic behind call and put options are the basic knowledge all master options traders need.
Options strategies
The real magic of options trading lies not in simply buying call options for stocks expected to go up or buying put options for stocks expected to go down. The real magic of options trading lie in the universe of options strategies which allows you to profit not only from an upwards or downwards market but even in a neutral or volatile one. You probably won't be able to learn, practice and master each and every of the hundreds of options strategies but you should have at least one or two options strategies of each class that you are totally familiar with and have paper traded so that you have a weapon for each market condition.
Technical Analysis
Technical analysis is particularly important for options trading as it is through technical analysis that you can make trend analysis in order to know what class of options strategy to apply in the first place. Technical analysis is extremely important in options trading also due to the fact that entry and exit timing is extremely important in options trading where there is a fixed expiration. Technical analysis has been used over the decades as a tool for precision entry and exit and is now an indispensible tool in options trading.
Options Greeks
Options Greeks are the mathematical components that define how a particular option would behave in response to factors such as changes in the price of the underlying stock, changes in volatility, changes in interest rate and time decay. An intimate understanding of all the options Greeks allows you to better understand and predict the behavior of an options position. It also allows you to make intricate adjustments to your options position in order to create a payoff profile that conforms to the exact predicted behavior of the price of the underlying asset.
Delta Neutral Trading
Delta neutral trading is the ability to tweak a position's delta status to a level that is zero or almost zero such that small volatilities in the price of the underlying asset do not affect the value of the overall position. When delta neutral trading is performed correctly, it could even be used as a hedge which profits no matter which direction the price of the underlying asset breaks out into next. This can only be achieved by a combination of call options, put options, the underlying asset and even futures. Different situations require a different approach to delta neutral hedging and that is why it takes a strong knowledge in all of these instruments in order to do delta neutral trading well.
Mastering all of the above will allow you to realize your dream as a master options trader and be able to make a living off trading options. Are you able to master all of the above?

So, everyone's making money trading options and you are eager to make the move from good old boring stocks to options trading. That's good, but how do you get started in options trading? What are the steps of learning to go through before you can trade options effectively?
Step 1: Options Education
Options are extremely complex derivative trading instruments and trading options isn't as simple as buying low and selling high. In fact, there isn't just one kind of option and there isn't just one option for each stock! There can be as many as hundreds of options available for trading on a single stock and all of them behaves differently and at a different rate in response to changes in the price of the underlying stock. All of these characteristics make learning about what options are the first steps in trading options. A lot of beginners make the mistake of starting their options education by randomly buying a few options to see how they behave. That usually leads to more questions about why those options behave the way they do and the inevitable loss also affects trading confidence right from the start. Inevitably, beginners starting out this way would have to come back to the education part. There are a lot of websites such as Optiontradingpedia.com that give good in-depth explanation on how options work for free.
Education for options trading must also include a comprehensive education in technical analysis as the full benefits of options trading can only be obtained from accurate trend analysis and market timing.
Step 2: Paper Trading
After you have obtained a comprehensive understanding of how options work it is now time to put your knowledge to the test. No, this is not when you should simply fund an options account and start trading with real money. Most reputable online options accounts offer a function known as "virtual trading". This is a function which allows you to practice options trading using real prices with identical trading interface but using fake money rather than real ones. Virtual trading, or paper trading, is the most important step in verifying your options trading knowledge before you do it for real. Very often, beginners will find the confidence they build up in the education phase fizzle out really quickly in virtual trading as they see the fallacies of their methods and perhaps even find holes in their options knowledge which requires more education to patch up. Those options beginners who went ahead with real trading following their theoretical options education usually end up losing all their money and quitting options trading altogether. This is why paper trading is such an important step in the overall options learning process. In fact, it is recommended that the virtual trading phase be at least 6 months to ensure you are not missing anything. It is like practicing in the baby pool after learning the swimming strokes on land.
Step 3: Single Contract Real Trading
After you have mustered enough confidence through an extended options virtual trading practice, it is time to take your knowledge and experience into the real money options trading world. However, it is not yet time for you to start trading your entire savings or retirement account full force. This is time for you to practice using real money trading only one contract at a time. Single contract real options trading training allows you to experience the real emotional stress of trading real money and also allows you to get familiarized with using real money interface while risking only a small, limited amount of money. Such single contract real options trading practice is critical due to the fact that most beginners make their first losses through execution mistakes such as clicking on a wrong link, using a wrong order or placing an advanced order wrongly. Such unnecessary losses can be significant if a lot of money is committed right from the start and its impact on trading confidence cannot be undermined. Trading only single options contracts may be inefficient in terms of commissions for some options brokers but it allows such mistakes to be made with relatively low level of pain on your capital. As such, it is recommended for a beginner options trader at this stage to keep trading only single contract until no more executional mistakes are made moving on to the next step.
Step 4: All Out Options Trading
All out trading is when you are truly ready to make options trading a true source of additional income or income replacement. This is when you will commit significant amounts of money in order to produce a meaningful profit trading options. However, coming out of single contract real trading, one should not immediately commit all the money one can muster all at once. Emotional stress increases as capital involved increases. Indeed, an options trader who can handle trading thousands of dollars may not have the emotional strength to handle trading hundreds of thousands and such a surge in emotional stress usually lead to dire consequences. It is again just like learning to swim; you don't jump straight into the deepest end by rather move deeper gradually as your confidence and competence increases. As such, one should trade options with more and more money only as one's trading confidence and competence increases.
Indeed, learning to trade options effectively without damaging one's trading confidence along the way is the only way to ensure long term success in options trading. This is why adhering to the steps in learning to trade options are so important. These are the exact steps which I put all my Star Trading System and Ride the Flow System students through in order to ensure that all of them master options trading for life and become truly profitable options traders. If I can, so can you!

Article Title: Options Trading: The Importance of Entry Timing

Entry timing is an important stock trading art made critical in options trading. If timing your entry is critical for stocks which you can hold perpetually, all the more it is critical for options with a finite lifespan.
Entry timing means finding the correct time to enter a position even though you have shortlisted it as a trading candidate. Your research tells you what to trade and your entry timing tells you when to take action. Perfect entry timing would have you enter a position a day before or even a minute before the underlying stock performs the predicted move, maximizing return on investment and capital usage. Good entry timing would prevent capital from being unproductive due to having to sit in positions that have yet to perform as predicted.
Entry timing is especially important in outright call options and put options buying due to the fact that options decline in value as the days go by due to a phenomena known as "Time Decay". The longer the options are held, the lower their value becomes as you eagerly wait for the underlying to perform as predicted.
Sadly, entry timing is what most beginners to options trading fail to give serious research and attention to. This is true even for those with previous stock trading experience as stocks are a lot more forgiving of entry mistakes since the trader could choose to hold the position for as long as it takes for the position to play out its prediction.
Consequently, many beginners find themselves in a panic when expiration draws near with their options lined up for expiring worthless out of the money. Indeed, options don't last forever and most of the options traded expire within three months of purchase. This is exactly why entry timing is so important in options day trading and options swing trading. In fact, no options trading methodology or system would be complete without entry criteria and procedure.
There are many ways to set up rules for entry timing and all professional options traders have their own criteria in what are known as personal "play books". Entry timing rules and criteria must be designed for the specific trading methodology it is developed for. There are no one size fits all solutions. Beginners must choose to use or learn options trading systems that include entry timing criteria such as my Star Trading System at http://startradingsystem.mastersoequity.com .
Examples of entry timing includes watching the price action of the underlying for a period of time prior to placing the trade in order to ascertain entry sentiments or even looking at intraday moving averages or candlesticks to determine the exact best entry point. No matter what method is used, there must be objective rules governing such observations so that the process may not be clouded by emotions.
Entry timing is critical to your long term success in options trading and is definitely an area you need to look into as an options trader if you haven't.

So many options traders have lost their shirts in options trading that almost all investment advisors would advise you against taking a dip into it.
However, options trading continues to be one of the most powerful money making method available to the masses with its leverage and multitude of multi-directional options trading. Its leverage can quickly build a fortune from a very small fund and its multi-directional options strategies can help greatly increase one's chances of winning.
Mistake 1: Always Buy It Cheap
Most stock-traders-turned-options-traders or housewife-turned-options-traders failed to understand that the options market isn't exactly a market where you always buy what's cheap. In options trading, "cheap" can be very expensive especially when you are in the habit of throwing all your money into one trade. Many beginners look at an options chain and ask themselves, "Why should I buy the $3.00 option when there is one that's only $0.30 further out of the money?". Well, the problem with out of the money options is that if the stock does not exceed the strike price of those out of the money options, you lose all your money put into that trade! That's right, all of it! As such, even if the stock does go in the direction of your prediction, you can still lose all your money if it didn't move strong enough to exceed the strike price of the options you bought. As such, "cheap" options can be very expensive. If you intend to buy cheap out of the money options in order to speculate on a strong move by the underlying stock, please use only money you can afford to lose.
Mistake 2: Putting All Your Money In One Trade
This is a common mistake made by stock traders turned options traders. Stock traders aim to be fully invested at all times in order to maximize return on capital. Most retail stock traders with limited budget will tend to put all their money into that one hot stock. If the trade works out, all of the capital is utilized for profit making and if the trade does not work out in the short term, they simply hold on to it until the stock performs. However, when they do the same thing in options trading, especially outright call or put options buying, they frequently lose all their money in one go because options do not give you the time to hold on to a wrong trade forever. Options expires and take all your money with it if you buy call options on a falling stock or put options on a rallying stock. Due to the possibility of a full loss on any one trade, you must never put all your money into any one trade. In fact, you should always use only money you can afford to lose, again.
Mistake 3: Trading "Magic" Options Strategies
There are many options strategies such as the "Covered Call" and the "Iron Condor Spread" which has been touted for decades to be almost magical sure-win options strategies. However, the experience of beginners who performed these strategies without thorough understanding has been less than ideal. There is no such thing as an options strategy that is "sure-win". All options strategies profit only when the underlying stock performs in a certain way. For instance, Iron Condor Spreads only profit when the underlying stock remains within a fixed predetermined price range but lose money quickly in trending markets. As such, do not trust anyone who says an options strategy is sure-win because there is simply no such thing.
Mistake 4: Trading "Magic" Indicators
In this age of complex quantitative calculations and technical indicators, a lot of beginners waste time and money looking for and trading that one "Magic" technical indicator that will allow them to win all the time. Sadly, after decades of computer calculations and thousands of technical indicators, there is no one magical technical indicator that will allow you to predict stock movement and win 100% of the time. In the end, trading is all about making more wins than losses rather than trying to win without ever losing. Ironically, it is those who are always looking for that sure win formula that loses most of the time.
Mistake 5: Looking For That One "Magic" Newsletter
With the growing popularity of options trading, investment newsletters specializing in options trading also grew in number. Following the recommendations of a reliable options newsletter can really help get a beginner started. However, many beginners jump from newsletter to newsletter looking for that one "Magic" newsletter that always wins. Again, this is an unrealistic expectation as there is no such thing as a newsletter that never fails. Every options newsletter follow a prescribed strategy, whether it be covered call or iron condor or outright call put plays, which profits only within specific conditions. This means that if it is a reliable options newsletter you are following, you should judge its performance over a period of months before you decide if it is worth committing real money to. Don't change newsletter everytime you hit a loss because, again, there is no 100% options strategy.

The last decade saw explosive growth in the options trading market all over the world.
Options are now available on almost every imaginable asset, from physical to financial assets. In fact, there are now more and more classes of options available for trading on a single underlying asset alone.
The last decade also saw the explosive popularization of options trading education both online and offline. Well known financial gurus such as Robert Kiyosaki as well as Masters 'O' Equity has been teaching about the benefits of trading options around the world, creating awareness in what was predominantly a stock trading world.
In today's complex and heavily traded options market, casualties are made every single day. Beginners are losing money much quicker than they used to in stock trading and the elusive perfect options strategy always seem so close yet so far away. So, the real question options traders today are asking is, what exactly does it take to be successful in options trading?
Here are five keys to options trading success that I have concluded after more than a decade of trading options.
1. Understand Your Trading Needs
One of the best things about options trading is that there isn't only one way of trading. If you can control your emotions and have time to trade during the day, you could choose to day trade or momentum trade options. If you are like most of us who would like to put on a trade and the sell it a few days or weeks later for a better price, you might choose to swing trade options. If you are mathematically inclined and would like to put on a position for fixed predictable earnings, you might want to study more about position trading.
Day trading, momentum trading, swing trading and position trading are the four main ways to trade options. Deciding which methodology to pursue is primarily a function of the amount of time you can commit and your inclinations.
Read more about the different options trading styles at http://www.optiontradingpedia.com/options_trading_styles.htm .
2. Understand Your Chosen Strategy
There are also many ways to profit from day trading, swing trading or position trading options. These strategies range from simple to complex. No matter what strategy you choose to pursue, you need to fully understand the strategy; its pros and cons as well as risk profile. This includes its maximum profit and loss as well as the conditions under which they occur. Understanding an options strategy goes beyond merely mastering the calculations but also understanding how you might react to all the possible outcomes of the strategy. Always paper trade for an extended period so that you experience all its pros and cons before applying real money.
3. Choose The Right Stock
Every options strategy profit only when the underlying stock performs in a certain way and loses money when the stock doesn't. As such, no matter which strategy you decide to pursue, you need to be able to pick stocks that perform in that very way. As such, good fundamental and technical analysis skill is critical to options trading success. Technical analysis is of particular importance in options trading since accurate entry and exit points are extremely important for options, being a time sensitive financial instrument.
4. Risk Management
No matter what options strategy you decide to pursue, there is a chance of losing money. Some options strategies have limited risk while some have unlimited risk. Limited risk means that it can only lose a fixed amount of money no matter how bad things turn out. Unlimited risk means that you can lose enough to break your account. Regardless if an options strategy is limited or unlimited risk, knowing how to manage your trade and portfolio risk is critical to your long term options trading success. All successful options traders decide how much risk to take for each trade in the framework of their overall portfolio risk management policy. This will govern the number of contracts to trade (position sizing) and where to set their stop loss.
For instance, if you have a ten thousand dollars account, wishes to pursue a simple long call options strategy and decide not to lose more than ten percent per trade, you would commit no more than one thousand per trade.
5. Profit Taking Strategy
Knowing how to apply the correct options strategies to the correct stocks with proper risk management technique in place is like knowing how to fly a plane. Even though learning to take off and navigate in the air is important, it is the ability to land the plane safely in the correct destination that makes an expert pilot. Knowing when and how to take profit properly is like landing a plane. Too many beginners make the mistake of holding a position all the way from profit into a deep loss. To make matters worse, the limited lifespan of options contracts does not allow unlimited time for such losses to come back up.

Almost all options traders have heard the age old trading adage that says "The Trend Is Your Friend". Indeed, trading options in the direction of the prevailing market trend definitely puts the odds of winning in your favor. Too many beginners to options trading has lost entire accounts by buying call options in a bear trend market and buying put options in a bull trend market.
So, what exactly is a market trend?
Market trends are like ocean tides. You know it is a rising tide when you see the sea coming higher and higher up a beach and you know it is a lowering tide when you see more and more of the beach. Similarly, you know it is a bullish trend when you see the major indices such as the Dow Jones Industrial Average or the S&P500 going higher and higher and you know it is a bearish trend when you see the major indices going lower and lower.
Yes, market trends are general directions in which stocks seems to be moving. In a bull trend, the prices of most stocks will be moving higher and higher and in a bear trend, the price of most stocks will be moving lower and lower.
However, one thing to understand about trends is that trends are a "General Direction of Movement". It does not mean that in a bull trend, the market only move upwards every single day and it does not mean that in a bear trend, the market only move downwards.
If you observe ocean tides, in a rising tide, the sea doesn't keep rushing onto the beach but comes in "Waves". One wave higher than the previous one. This is the same thing in stock market trends. In a bull trend, you will see up days interspersed with down days. However, up days will happen more frequently and will make new highs following each slight retreat.
This fact frequently comes as a surprise to new traders who interpret the first down day in a bull trend as the market "turning bearish". This is also how beginners and veteran options traders alike fall for the proverbial "Bull Trap" and "Bear Trap", which are short counter-trend moves that are misinterpreted as trend changes. Traders who fall for either trap usually find themselves surprised when the general trend resumes and they are caught in a losing position that never gets turned around.
Recognizing how trends really work is only the first step to recognizing market trends.
Have you ever arrived at the conclusion that the market is in one direction only to have a peer disagree with it? How can two person looking at the same market come to different conclusions about what the market trend is?
The complexity of recognizing market trends come with the realization that the market can really be in all three directions on the same day at any one time!
The market might be in a bear trend for daytraders but on the same day, it may be in a bull trend for a swing trader and a neutral trend for a long term investor. How is that possible?
Actually, there are not just one "Market" condition but countless market conditions depending on the time frame one is trading on! It is the failure to recognize that market trend is different for different trading horizons and investment objectives that led to all the futile argument over what trend the market is in on TV.
If you have a charting software, you might be shocked to see that frequently, you will see a completely different chart pattern on the same index or stock depending on what time frame you are looking at; 1 min chart, daily chart, weekly chart or monthly chart, each of them seems to tell you a different thing.
A chart that looks extremely bearish on the 1 min chart might look extremely healthy and bullish on a daily chart. As such, the analysis of trend requires first and foremost an understanding of the exact time frame that you are trading on.
Recognizing the exact time frame you are trading on is an extremely important pre-requisite in options trading where the options contracts and positions you bought are time sensitive! Yes, options positions don't last forever and all options strategies have an ideal time frame within which to make an optimized return.
For instance, if you are day trading with options and either writing or buying options in order to close them out for a profit by the end of the trading day, the market trend you should be concerned with would be the intraday trend identified most commonly with the minute charts. In this case, whether the market is in a long term bull or bear trend doesn't really affect your trading anymore. The world might be shouting bullish but if your minute charts are showing bearish for the day, then bearish is the direction you make your money from.
If you are trading a Covered Call, you might want to write the call options on a stock that is relatively sideways on the daily charts with the market trading within a range on the daily charts if you intend to keep the stocks from being assigned.
Conversely, if you are buying long term LEAPS options, you might be more concerned with what the longer term trend of the market is instead of being too concerned with the day to day volatility.
So, what are the most common tools to use for market trend recognition?
Most veterans are capable of recognizing the trend a chart is in simply by looking at how the price chart looks like. However, for the less experienced or more technically inclined, countless complex technical indicators have been invented over the ages. Personally, the most time proven one is the Simple Moving Average. Which is simply averaging the price over a period of time to see where it is generally moving towards. This is what I personally rely on most of the time and I use a different period moving average for different time horizons. Most commonly used are the 30days or 50days period.

Can you make a living trading options? In fact, has anyone ever made a living just trading options?
This is a question that a lot of beginners who has yet to start learning about options asked me. In fact, for some of them, it seems like being able to make a living out of solely trading options is the only motivation for them to learn it in the first place.
Well, having traded options for more than fifteen years, I regard myself a professional options trader and I would say the possibility exist for making a living out of only trading options if you are really good at it. However, as a responsible financial adviser, the golden adage still goes, Never Put All Your Eggs In One Basket.
The right way to financial stability, security and freedom is to make sure you have multiple streams of income. Nobody should depend solely on their job income for their livelihood as the risk of retrenchment always exists. Nobody should depend solely on real estate rental income for their livelihood as the risk of default on payment and non-rental exists. Likewise, nobody should depend solely on options trading for their livelihood as the risk of the market making an unexpected move that wipes out short term gains exists. There are no perfect ways of making money and that is why we DIVERSIFY!
While it is possible to make your main income through options trading when you get really good at it, you will still need to augment your income with other residual sources such as real estate rental or even your job income in order to hedge against risk. Yes, financial stability is a science and an art which requires effort and time to get right. There is no shortcut and no quick fix. There isn't a single method of making money which could allow you to rest on your laurels for the rest of your life. That is why the super rich still spend so much time making money and investing their money.
Personally, while I make my main income from options trading, I actually have about thirteen other streams of residual income to help me through the tough times such as the 2008 market crash which caught me somewhat by surprise and I wasn't able to react fast enough on my options trades to avoid initial losses. If I had not my other sources of residual income, I would have gone without food and would have defaulted on my mortgages during those few tough months when I didn't make an income from my options trading at all.
Yes, all means of making money have their ups and downs. There are no perfect investments. As such, even though it is possible to make a living from options trading, my advise is that you should treat options trading as another weapon in your arsenal to financial freedom and security. Every mean of money making that you learn gives you that edge and allows you to survive under more market and economic conditions.

Options trading has been the centre of much debate of recent years. Is options trading dangerous? Can we go bankrupt on Options Trading? Indeed, options as a form of derivative instrument is far more complex than the stocks that they are written based on and, like a wild stallion, can hurt you if you do not understand how it works and how to use it properly.
This brings us to the topic of this article.
In this article, I shall present 5 reasons why options trading is actually better than stock trading in order to dispel the age old myths of how dangerous options trading is. Let's remember this: Options trading is dangerous only when you do not understand it.
1) Variable Leverage
The leverage that options trading give you is perhaps the main reason why people gravitate to options trading in the first place. Leverage is the ability to do more with the same amount of money. Trading options allows you to make a lot more profit on the same move on the underlying stock. When you buy the stock itself without margin, you are merely making 1% profit on a 1% move in your favor. However, in options trading, you could be making 10% profit on that same 1% move the stock made or even up to 100% on that same 1% move!
Yes, the beauty of leverage in options trading, unlike in futures trading, is that it is VARIABLE!
Leverage in options trading is variable, you could take on more leverage for more risk or lesser leverage for lesser risk by choosing options of different strike prices and/or expiration month. In general, the more out of the money options, the higher the leverage and the more in the money options, the lower the leverage.
Leverage cuts both ways. This is why the beauty of leverage in options trading is that it allows you to do the same trades with much lesser money, as such, you could simply use only money you can afford to and intend to lose in any failed trade for each options trade so leverage actually help you control your losses instead!
2) Low Capital Requirement
Apple Inc. , AAPL, is trading at $295.36 today which means it takes $29,536 to buy 100 shares today. However, AAPL's at the money call options costs only something like $715 to control the profits on that same 100 shares of Apple!
3) Bet Downwards Without Margin
In order to profit from a downwards move on a stock in stock trading, you could only short the stock which incurs margin. However, in options trading, all you need to do in order to bet on a stock going downwards is to BUY its put options with no margin needed at all. That's right, buying put options for profit to downside works exactly the same as buying call options for profit to upside. There is no need to own the stock beforehand and there is no need for margin!
4) Multi-Directional Profits
In stock trading, you only profit when the stock goes in the direction you want it to. Upwards when you buy the stock or downwards when you short the stock. There is no way to profit in both scenarios simultaneously and there is no way to profit if the price of the stock does not move. However, in options trading, such multi-directional profits are possible! There are options strategies that allows you to profit no matter if the stock goes upwards or downwards quickly and there are options strategies that profits even if the price of the stock remains unchanged! Such is the real magic of options strategies which greatly increases your chances of winning in options trading versus stock trading!
5) Play Banker
Sick and tired of always being at the player's side of the table? In options trading, you could switch instead to the banker's side of the table and do what market makers do by selling options to people who are wants to take the side of the player! When the players lose, as they often do, you get to keep the bet as profit just like a real banker! Only options trading has the "bet" which you get to keep and it is known as "extrinsic value".
As you can see by now, options trading is indeed far more powerful and safe than stock trading if you do it correctly. To learn more about what you can do with options, visit our Options Trading website at Optiontradingpedia.com .

Swing trading is one of the most common ways of trading in the stock market. Whether you know it or not, you probably have been swing trading all these while. Swing trading is buying now and then selling a few days or weeks later when prices are higher, or lower (in the case of a short). Such a price increase or decrease is known as a "Price Swing", hence the term "Swing Trading".
Most beginners to options trading take up options as a form of leverage for their swing trading. They want to buy call options when prices are low and then quickly sell them a few days or weeks later for a leveraged gain. Vice versa true for put options. However, many such beginners quickly found out the hard way that in options swing trading, they could still make a substantial loss even if the stock eventually did move in the direction that they predicted.
How is that so? What are some problems associated with swing trading using options that they failed to take note of?
Indeed, even though options can be used quite simply as leveraged substitution for trading the underlying stock, there are a few things about options that most beginners fail to take note of.
1) Strike Price
It doesn't take long for anyone to realize that there are many options available across many strike prices for all optionable stocks. The obvious choice that beginners commonly make is to buy the "cheap" out of the money options for higher leverage. Out of the money options are options that have no built in value in them. These are call options with strike prices higher than the prevailing stock price or put options with strike prices lower than the prevailing stock price.
The problem with buying out of the money options in swing trading is that even if the underlying stock move in the direction of your prediction (upwards for buying call options and downwards for buying put options), you could still lose ALL your money if the stock did not exceed the strike price of the options you bought! That's right, this is known as to "Expire Out Of The Money" which makes all the options you bought worthless. This is also how most beginners lose all their money in options trading.
In general, the more out of the money the options are, the higher the leverage and the higher the risk that those options will expire worthless, losing you all the money put into them. The more in the money the options are, the lower more expensive they are due to the value built into them, the lower the leverage becomes but the lower the risk of expiring worthless. You need to take the expected magnitude of the move and the amount of risk you can take into consideration when deciding which strike price to buy for swing trading with options. If you expect a big move, out of the money options would of course give you tremendous rewards but if the move fails to exceed the strike price of those options by expiration, a nasty awakening awaits.
2) Expiration Date
Unlike swing trading with stocks which you can hold on to perpetually when things go wrong, options have a definite expiration date. This means that if you are wrong, you will very quickly lose money when expiration arrives without the benefit of being able to hold on to the position and wait for a return or dividend.
Yes, swing trading with options is fighting against time. The faster the stock moves, the more sure you are of profit. Good news is, all optionable stocks have options across many expiration months as well. Nearer month options are cheaper and further month options are more expensive. As such, if you are confident that the underlying stock is going to move quickly, you could trade with nearer expiration month options or what we call "Front Month Options", which are cheaper and therefore have a higher leverage. If you wish to give more time for the stock to move, you could choose a further expiration month which will of course be more expensive and therefore have a much lower leverage.
As such, the choice of expiration month for swing trading with options is largely a choice between leverage and time. Take note that you can sell profitable options way before their expiration dates. As such, most swing traders go for options with 2 to 3 months left to expiration at least.
3) Extrinsic Value
Extrinsic value, or commonly known as "premium", is the part of the price of an option which goes away completely when expiration arrives. This is why out of the money options that we mentioned above expires worthless by expiration. Because their entire price consists only of Extrinsic Value and no built in value (intrinsic value).
The thing about extrinsic value is that it erodes under two conditions; By time and by Volatily crunch.
Eroding or extrinsic value over time as expiration approaches is known as "Time Decay". The longer you hold an option that is not profitable, the cheaper the option becomes and eventually it could become worthless. This is why swing trading with options is a race against time. The faster the stock you pick moves, the more sure of profit you are. It is unlike swing trading with the stock itself where you make a profit as long as it moves eventually, no matter how long it takes.
Eroding of extrinsic value when the "excitement" or "anticipation" on the stock drops is known as a "Volatility Crunch". When a stock is expected to make a significant move by an definite time in the future like an earnings release or court verdict, implied volatility builds up and options on that stock becomes more and more expensive. The extra cost built up through anticipation of such events erodes COMPLETELY once the event is announced and hits the wires. This is what volatility crunch is all about and why a lot of beginners to options trading attempting to swing trade a stock through its earnings release lose money. Yes, the extrinsic value erosion by volatility crunch can be so high that even if the stock did move powerfully in the predicted direction, you may not make any profit as the price move has been priced into the extrinsic value itself.
As such, when swing trading with options, you need to consider a more complex strategy when speculating on high volatility stocks or events and be able to choose stocks that move before the effects of time decay takes a big mouth full of that profit away.
4) Bid Ask Spread
The bid ask spread of options can be significantly larger than the bid ask spread of their underlying stock if the options are not heavily traded. A large bid ask spread introduces a huge upfront loss to the position especially for cheap out of the money options, putting you into a significant loss right from the start. As such, it is imperative in options trading to trade options with a tight bid ask spread in order to ensure liquidity and a small upfront loss.
Swing trading with options can be an extremely rewarding and profitable venture when you take all of the above issues into mind and choose your options wisely.
My Star Trading System at http://startradingsystem.mastersoequity.com is one such options swing trading system which has all of these considerations and MORE covered in its rules so that beginners to options swing trading may simply follow and profit.

One of the greatest and most talked about risk in options trading is the fact that you could lose all your money in options trading very quickly. Well, many people lose all their money in stock trading too, so what makes losing all your money in options trading such a big deal? The fact is, investors only lose all their money in stock trading when the stock they buy becomes bankrupt which has a very low possibility of occurrence whereas the possibility of losing all your money in options trading is extremely high and can occur within an extremely short timeframe.
So, does that mean options trading is risky and should never be undertaken like what so many people in investment forums suggested?
First of all, lets explore what about options that made it possible to firstly, lose all your money and secondly, within a short time frame.
Options are derivative instruments which derives its value from the price of its underlying asset. It do not have value of its own upon expiration. A call option giving you the right to buy a stock at $10 only has value if the underlying stock is above $10. If the underlying stock is below $10, you are already able to buy the stock at lesser than what the call option allows you to from the open market and the call option thus has no value. When this situation occurs at expiration, the option would "Expire Out Of The Money" with no value left and you will lose all the money you used for buying those options. This is one of the most common way beginners lose all their money in options trading; By buying options with all their money as if they are buying stocks.
Secondly, options have definite expiration dates. Unlike stocks, you can't hold on to a losing options position forever. Options have a definitely expiration date and if you buy options with too few days left to expiration and no time left to move as predicted, you would lose all your money very quickly even if the underlying stock moved as predicted eventually. A lot of beginners buy options with too few months left to expiration due to the fact the more months left to expiration, the more expensive the option becomes. As such, a lot of beginners make the mistake of buying options that expire very soon and then lose all their money very quickly.
As such, options trading can be risky and you can lose all your money very quickly in options trading if you buy options with all your money with too few days left to expiration. As such, when you buy options, make sure you buy options only with money you can afford to lose (maybe 2% or 5% of your total fund size) and make sure you buy with enough time to expiration (maybe 3 months and more). When you follow these two simple rules, you will be able to avoid the situation in which you lose all your money in options trading very quickly.

Options trading is as simple as buying call options for rising stocks and put options for falling stocks.
However, once you go beyond the initial stage of call and put buying, the whole universe of thousands of options strategies open up before you. For the first time you see almost endless possibilities of making money through options strategies and you might wonder which options strategy is the best and which options strategy to use for each situation?
This article will attempt to provide some simple guidelines on how to choose the correct options strategy for your trading.
The two most common questions I hear from beginner options traders regarding options strategies are;
"Which options strategy is the best?"
And
"Which options strategy should I use when XXX happens?"
No Such Thing as the BEST Options Strategy
First of all, let us be clear that there is no such thing as a "Best Options Strategy". Yes, repeat to yourself now that there is no such thing as the one options strategy that is fitted for all situations. All options strategies have pros and cons and all are good for the specific situation for which they are designed. As such, success in options trading is really the ability to execute the options strategy that best fits the situation you are in.
All Options Strategies Are Designed For Specific Situations
This brings us to the next and more important question of what options strategy to use when "XXX happens".
As mentioned above, all options strategies are designed for specific situations and the more complex an options strategy, the more customizable it is towards a specific price goal. As such, understanding completely what is going on and being very accurate with your outlook becomes extremely important.
Yes, there is no magic in options trading. All options strategies profit only within their specific outlook and limitations. If the underlying stock did not perform within those specifications, the strategy will incur a loss no matter how complex it is unless suitable adjustments are made in a timely manner.
Consider the Size of Your Account
Another important consideration when choosing which options strategy to use is the size of your fund or the amount of money you intend to use towards each trade. Very complex options strategies can involve combinations of up to 4 or 5 different options contracts which can take up a significant amount of commission for small accounts. Commissions can be significant enough to totally eradicate the possibilities of profit.
Small accounts also run into problem with credit strategies and naked writes that involves significant margins, typically running up to $100,000. As such, if you have a small account size, most of the credit spreads would be beyond your consideration (which of course makes the decision making process a little simpler).
How to Choose an Options Strategy?
Let us then go through the steps to be taken in order to decide which options strategy to use:
1. Consider your account size and your account limitations. There are some options strategies that your account simply cannot execute due to either fund size or trading level.
2. Understand your exact situation. You need to be able to quantify the direction in which the underlying stock is going to travel, the price goal the underlying stock is reaching for, the amount of risk you are willing to take for that trade. The more exact you can be with these parameters and the more accurate your outlook is, the more money you can make using options strategies.
For instance, if QQQQ is trading at $40 right now and you think it is going to go upwards. If you are not sure to what price it might move up to but is sure that the upwards move is going to be very significant, you could only buy call options using money you are willing to lose for that trade. However, if you can be more specific and say that QQQQ is rising but might not go beyond $45 by expiration, then you could use a slightly more complex options strategy called Bull Call Spread ( http://www.optiontradingpedia.com/free_bull_call_spread.htm ) by writing an additional call options against the call options you have bought at the $45 strike price. If QQQQ rose to $45 before expiration and is expected to stay stagnant at $45 till expiration, you could instantly write another call option at $45 strike price and then buy further out of the money call options at the same time to transform the position into a Butterfly Spread ( http://www.optiontradingpedia.com/free_butterfly_spread.htm ) which is a neutral options strategy.
See how you can apply and evolve your options strategies as long as you can be specific with your outlook?
3. Consider your level of experience. Whatever options strategy you choose to use, make sure you have paper traded it for a significant period of time and completely understand its limitations and the kind of adjustments that can be made when things go wrong. Many options beginners start out with very complex options strategies and panic when things go wrong.
4. Start simple. Start with simple options strategies such as the long call / put and the bull call spread / bear put spread to get a feel of how options strategies can be built up using the building blocks of options spreads ( http://www.optiontradingpedia.com/options_spreads.htm ) .
In conclusion, there is no magic options strategies that win all the time. Knowing which options strategy to use is really a function of understanding your limits and the limits of the options strategy you are considering. Knowing your limits means knowing what you can and cannot do with your trading account as well as the level of risk you are willing to take and knowing the limits of the options strategy takes understanding exactly what it can and cannot do and then applying it to the exact situation you are facing. The more precise you can be with your outlook and the more accurate it is, the more rewarding your options trading will be.

After spending much time explaining the differences between options trading and futures trading to beginners to derivatives trading, I think its time to touch on the similarities between options trading and futures trading. Is options trading and futures trading really that different? What are some of the similarities? Well, there are actually four main areas in which options and futures are similar.
First of all, options and futures are both derivative instruments. This means that they are both merely contracts that allows you to trade their underlying asset at certain specific prices, hence deriving their value from price movements of their underlying asset. Both options and futures are merely contracts that bind the exchange of the underlying asset at a specific price. Without an underlying asset, options and futures would not have any value for their existence at all, which is why they are known as "Derivative Instruments". Options and futures both exist for the purpose of facilitating the trading of their underlying asset.
Secondly, both options and futures are leverage instruments. This means that both options trading and futures trading give you the ability to control the price movement on more of their underlying assets than your cash would usually allow. For instance, a futures contract with an initial margin requirement of 10% would allow you to control ten times the amount of its underlying asset than your cash would normally allow you to. A call option asking for $1.00 on a stock that is trading at $20 has a twenty times leverage as it allows you to control a stock worth $20 with only $1. Leverage also means that you could make more profit with options and futures on the same move on their underlying asset than you would if you bought the underlying asset with the same amount of cash. Of course, leverage cuts both ways. You could also potentially lose more than you would in options and futures trading than you would if you had simply bought the underlying asset.
Thirdly, both options and futures can be used for hedging. Hedging is one of the most important usages of derivatives. Both futures and options can be used to partially or totally hedge the directional price risk of an asset even though options are more versatile and precise as it allows for what is known as delta neutral hedging which allows a completely hedged position to still profit should the underlying asset stage a strong breakout in either direction. The hedging power of options and futures is also extremely important in reducing the downwards pressure faced by the overall market during market crisis because big funds and institutions can hedge the downside risk of their holdings using options and/or futures instead of selling their shares in order to maintain their account value. By reducing the amount of selling these big funds does, downside pressure in the overall market is partially relieved. Of course, this alone does not stop bear markets from forming when the general retail crowd (aka the "Herd") starts to rush out of the market.
Fourthly, both options and futures can be used to profit in ways other than the price movement of the underlying stock itself. Futures spreads can be used to speculate in seasonal price differences between the price of futures contracts of different expiration months and options spreads can be structured to profit from time decay no matter which way the underlying asset goes. Yes, it is these options strategies and futures strategies that make derivatives trading so interesting and so rewarding for people with the knack for mathematical calculations and strategies.
So, even though options and futures are very different derivative instruments and have very different rules and trading characteristics, they are still very much the same in the above areas and you can be a more comprehensive and savvy trader or investor by understanding how to use both options and futures to your advantage.

Futures trading can be used for two main purposes; Speculation and Hedging. While most retail futures traders get involved in futures trading for the purpose of leveraged speculation, it cannot be forgotten that the true purpose of futures contracts is for the purpose of hedging.
Hedging using futures is technique most professional money managers use for decades. However, there is one main problem with hedging using futures and that is the fact that the settlement price of futures contracts isn't the actual spot price of their underlying asset. That's right. In other words, the price of the underlying asset used to determine the worth of each futures contracts isn't the actual price of the underlying asset but a price derived from the actual price known as the "Settlement Price". The problem with settlement price is that it can vary significantly from the actual price of the underlying asset and this difference in pricing may cause problems with hedging precisely using futures contracts.
Settlement price is determined at the end of each trading day or trading period by various methods, including price averaging across a certain period, and reflects the future price expectation of the underlying asset at various expiration months. This is why futures contracts of different months have a different price even though they are all based on the same underlying asset. In fact, some futures contracts may end up lower on days where the spot price of the underlying asset actually went up!
As a result of this tracking error between the settlement price and the actual spot price, it is nearly impossible to hedge a position to delta neutrality completely using futures.
This is also why options are becoming the new favorite hedging instrument of professional portfolio managers and are used much more commonly in stock hedging than their single stock futures counterpart.
Options base their price on the actual price of the underlying asset itself instead of a derived price of the underlying asset. As such, options are capable of the precise level of hedging that futures are not quite capable of.
Traditionally, futures contracts have been used for price protection between buyers and sellers of a particular commodity. By entering into a contract to trade the commodity at a specific price right now, buyers are protected against price hikes and sellers are protected against price drops. This is the hedging function that exchange traded futures still perform but the fact that the settlement price of a futures contract only converges with the spot price of the actual underlying asset close to or on expiration date itself, it is hard to use futures for precise short term hedging that may last only days and comes nowhere close to the expiration date.
Derivatives instruments such as futures and options are originally designed as hedging tools. As the demand for highly precise hedging over very short periods of time increases, futures are slowly becoming less popular compared to options in terms of non-commodity hedging.

If you are reading this article, chances are that you might have come across or have some kind of knowledge in the term "i-Ching". You must be wondering, how in the world is a five thousand years old classic related to modern options trading? Well, the truth is, everything about options trading, from basic strategies to advanced strategies to unheard of strategies have been explained and defined in the i-Ching!
I have been reading a lot of philosophical books lately, perhaps due to the fact that I am getting older by the years. One of those books that really caught my attention is the Chinese classic i-Ching. The i-Ching defines how everything in the world stems from two polarities; Ying and Yang, the positive and the negative (in fact, I believe it explains Standard Model Physics!). In fact, western science ended the search for a base code for computers which can be used to generate endless possibilities and calculations when they chanced across the i-Ching. The theory of Ying and Yang polarities gave birth to the binary coding that is used in modern computers. The wide and almost infinite possibilities that can be computed also proved the i-Ching's claims that the Ying and Yang is capable of producing endless possibilities and matters.
One paragraph in the i-Ching sums up its entire philosophy, "Infinity (or infinite intelligence) gives birth to the Two Polarities (Ying & Yang), the Two Polarities give birth to the Four Manifestations (Ying positive, Ying negative, Yang positive, Yang negative), the Four Manifestations give birth to the Eight Pentagram and the Eight Pentagram gives birth to all things".
So, how are all these to do with Options Trading?
Amazingly, I see the exact same pattern in options trading and it explains why there is literally endless number of possible options strategies!
Options Trading relies on two basic building blocks; Call Options and Put Options. One for going up and the other for going down (the Ying and the Yang). Buying call or put options is the simplest of all options strategies. Call and put options can either be bought or written, giving rise to four possible basic strategies (the Four Manifestations), Long Call, Long Put, Short Call and Short Put. The four basic options strategies, when combined, leads to eight advanced options strategies (the Eight Pentagram), Long Call + Short Call (Bull call spread), Short Call + Long Call (Bear Call Spread), Long Put + Short Put (Bear Put Spread), Short Put + Long Put (Bull Put Spread), Long Call + Short Put ( Call Risk Reversal), Long Put + Short Call (Put Risk Reversal), Long Call + Long Put (Long Straddle), Short Call + Short Put (Short Straddle).
Wow, that's amazing isn't it?
Well, it gets better! Remember it is said that the eight pentagram gives rise to all things? This means that from these building blocks, an INFINITE number of options strategies are possible! That's right! Every single complex multi-leg options strategies such as the Butterfly Spread and the Iron Condor Spread, are made up of these basic building blocks!
That's right, what the i-Ching is teaching us about modern options trading is that an infinite number of options strategies can be created from call and put options and is also why options trading is the most versatile trading method in the world. This is also why nobody can ever completely "Master" options trading. The possibilities of options trading are literally endless and are also why I have been trading, teaching and writing about options for more than a decade and never get bored.
