Article Title: Keyboard Layout Problems - How To Fix Them

Keyboard layout specifies what character the computer will display when you will press the certain key on your keyboard. There are various characters in different languages, but in Windows you can easily switch between languages with Control + Shift or Alt + Shift key stoke. That is great, because you don't need to use another PC or different keyboard.

But if you are using two or more layouts you will certainly face some difficulties. For instance, sometime you forget to switch to necessary layout and do blind typing, but when you see the result, which is in wrong layout, you have to retype.

It became a huge problem, especially, when layouts looks like the same and it is hard to determine from the first look that you are using the wrong layout.

Another problem is using more than two layouts. Now you will need to press Control + Shift twice to select the necessary layout. And this might be a great problem, because you will always need to check what layout you are using now and you will waste your work time to technical things.

There are some possible ways to make this problem solved. For sure, you can using Windows keyboard layout options to temporary disable some layouts, but it will take you much time to open settings dialog, change settings and then close dialog and do this every time you will need a layout again.

There also exists a number of program which address the problems of keyboard layouts, for instance, some software tools might automatically switch your layout if you are typing in a wrong language and convert the text that you have already typed into the right layout. But tools like this will not eliminate the problem of switching between three or more layouts, especially, if layouts look the same.

One of the possible solutions for this problem is specifying a special switch short key for switching between layouts. For instance, if you are using English, German and French you can specify one short key to switch between English and German and another short key to switch between German and French. In this way, you will always be sure that you have switched to the correct layout. But it will be much harder to switch between layouts. Anyway, Windows has this option and you should try to use it.

Another problem when you are learning a new keyboard layout is that you might not know what keys you should press to get necessary character. There is a good solution for this issue too. Run Windows screen keyboard and you will see all characters that are available on the current keyboard layout.

Using various keyboard layouts is a great way to save your time and type in a various languages, but don't waste your time typing the same twice or switching between layouts, learn this aspect carefully and use short keys suggested by Windows to be professional about keyboard layouts.

Finally, if you are system administrator and there are many users who don't feel good about changing layouts, train them and use freeware and commercial software tools that might help about layout problem.

The stress to enhance the return on marketing reserves has by no means been bigger. The media backdrop is as demanding as it is fragmented. The established confidence on large scale television promotions is giving way to non-traditional ideas which guarantee to split during the confusion of promotional and advertising significance attacking consumers. When media plotters assess different magazines for an advertising promotion, they are ready with an extensive collection of metrics at their clearance. This is been done to verify the potency of one magazine against another in achieving their initiatives. These metrics present a sensible intensity of whether the advertisement in one magazine will provide the exact impact than in the other magazine. The main intention of this process is to gain higher returns on the advertising ventures, to that extent where metrics can unite promoters with the consumers which is essential.

Recently the development of metrics varied from a direct reckoning of having a good look at the increasing popularity of the busy readers. Since the last five years there has been an attempt to develop the responsibility of commitment and association that the media plays in generating promotion, particularly in the publication community. There were several studies conducted by the Magazine Publishing Association, their main spotlight was to know the role and value of metrics in enhancing the effectiveness of advertising. Actually, there are various tools available to resolve the perfect media plan each one with its individual pros and cons.

Researchers did opt for a single branded advertising promotion in three different product categories for the research. These three products were a recommended pharmaceutical drug, an extensively familiar consumer packaged good and a clothing brand. Huge arbitrary samples of several consumers were recruited from the representative and were screened for magazine issues in which these three ad promotions did appear. Then quite a few magazine readers exposed to these promotions answered questions inquisitive to their connection with the magazine. This study captured the impact of some variables which persuade effectiveness of advertising, however they are generally ahead of the print planner's direct control. These included strength of copy, potential frequency of exposure to the campaign and the category participation.

Totally 26.6 percent of the inconsistency in the advertising recall was clarified, as a considerable development over previous studies were attempted to clarify the predictors of advertising effectiveness. Magazine involvement and Advertising quality appear as the two strongest predictors of advertising effectiveness. Moreover this research specifies that the aspects associated with the recall vary from the product category to product category. These variations however may be partially attributable to the person's characteristics of every promotion tested. Advertising quality is the solitary imperative contributor to advertising effectiveness in two of the three product categories being tested. Advertising qualities are defined across five dimensions which are rated by respondents. These five dimensions are selected as they are mostly used in testing performed by advertisers and then condensed into two parts. The most significant is the aspect which covers persuasiveness, communication and believability. This recommends that a print advertisings capability to pass on the core message in a persuasive manner is even more vital than its ability to confine attention and to be resembled.

Marketing mix is the way by which the various tasks performed in marketing are checked for their level of competence. These tasks may include market share, direct marketing, advertising and response rates of the people after advertising. It is the way of measuring the success of marketing methods that are been used by an organization.

No business can be successful without the use of effective marketing techniques. Today, the marketing techniques that are used mainly involve marketing research, pricing, product development, promotion and the management of the channels of distribution. There are basically two aims of marketing today; first one is to retain the existing customers of the organization and to create new customers for future growth. Thus, the effectiveness of marketing can be easily measured by the number of customers that are present with the organization. Some other things that measure the effectiveness of marketing are the status of the organization and its ability to stay ahead in the market.

Thus, measuring performance is very important keeping in mind the future goals and to monitor the progress of the organization. There are many ways through which the different marketers make marketing effective. They make use of the data that are available to recommend, evaluate, measure initiatives and implement the various measures that have been chosen. With the help of all these marketing techniques the marketers aim at propelling the business towards future growth.

The success of the marketing techniques is measured by various performance metrics. There are some contributions from the internal framework also. These contributions are in the form of aligning the activities according to the goals and the strategies and linking these marketing performance with that to the financial performance of the business. These internal factors also help in establishing accountability of the marketing team and improving the efficiency of the marketing activities. It is a matter of argument as to how to measure the performance of marketing. Experts say that without the use of an efficient and well defined metric the marketing performance cannot be calculated.

These metrics for the measurement of the marketing performance keep on changing and depend upon its use ie if it is to be used to know the performance of the marketing team and the benefits to the consumers or to compare organization with another one. To boost the performance of the marketing communication some of the metrics that can be used are customer satisfaction tracking, media effects analysis and integrated marketing communications. Other metric that can be used is customer equity analysis and brand equity analysis.

The choice of the metrics solely depends upon the decision of the particular organization. The executive metric aims at determining the cost of the various campaigns and various projects that are undertaken by the executives. Program metric on the other hand try employing the various methods that will compare the costs that are incurred with the results and the brand metric is the way by which the organization measures the attitudes of the people relating to the various products by measures like surveys.

    *********************** ARTICLE START ***********************

In today's world, it is very important to exploit the innovative capabilities of the employees so as to develop new business techniques in the face of modern technological advancements, empowerment of customers, new entrants in the market, shorter life cycle of the products, globalization of the market and geopolitical instability. The development of the innovative capabilities of individuals is the only to sustain an advantage over the competitors.

In every field, the leading company is the seen to be the innovator. Until now, innovation has been considered as some kind of black art. Managers of today's world still lack the metrics that are required to take informed decisions about the innovative programs. There are some metrics that have developed for the development of new product. But these metrics are very limited. Managers are not fully equipped with the right metrics to measure the innovativeness of a particular program.

There are quite a few reasons that support the importance of innovative metrics for the development of a company. Firstly, they help the mangers to come up with an informed decision that is based on objective data. This is valuable because certain projects might have be long term and might also have risks attached to it. Also metrics affect behavior of the employees by aligning goals and actions that are in the best interest of the organization or company.

Most of the companies that measure their innovativeness do so with the help of Research and Development or by product development metrics. These might be useful but are limited in their scope as they are not capable of measuring the overall effectiveness of the innovations on the company. While paying attention to technological development, often innovation related to business concept is neglected.

There should be a framework for the selection of metrics that can help the mangers to track the success rates of innovation in the companies. These metrics would be helpful for the senior executives to assess the innovativeness of the company which will combat the dangerous strategy decay that afflicts the business of a company. Strategies might decay due to various reasons and hence innovation is the key of success for any company.

Companies that are not able to innovate for themselves must learn to buy it. For example, if company's main product is out of demand then it can buy a lesser company whose products are still in demand. However, this innovation strategy is good only for a short term. In order to innovate things by themselves, the companies should have a balance between investment in the current business and innovation. The company should also assess the capability of the company to turn its resources of innovation into business opportunities. Also the leadership of the company has to be assesses in terms of its supportiveness towards any innovation.

Innovation metrics is important, because it is not really possible to manage something by measuring it. Innovation metrics is a tool to motivate the managers and leaders of the company to embrace innovation and give it priority. The goals of innovation need to be communicated and rewards for achieving milestones should be set. This helps in the acceleration of the pace of ideas that can be implemented. Innovation metrics can be applied in various fields in the company including process, planning and people.

Viewing a PDF file requires the installation of the current version of Adobe Reader which is higher than 7.0 if you want to open the pages of the PDF file easily. You can follow some simple steps to find PDF.

    Steps to open PDF

    - Click on the abode icon to open Adobe Reader.

    - Download the Adobe Reader program on your hard drive by writing the exact name of the download file.

    - Shut down the browser and other programs which are running on your computer while downloading.

    - Double click on the finder to find the file and click on the file that you have downloaded to get it installed on the Adobe Reader.

    - Return to the internet and you can view any PDF file.

Importance of Adobe Acrobat Portable Document Format. The Adobe Acrobat PDF provides the reader fine details of images which are easy to read and a small file size which enables quicker downloading. Installing a PDF has benefits such as it facilitates quick zoom in/out and copy/paste of images or text. It helps you produce forms which look exactly like the original when you print them. The only requirement is to get a free Adobe Reader program before getting to read the PDF which can be done quite easily and is a one time effort.

Tips for setting up a PDF. Once you click on the Abode icon to download the Adobe Reader you can save the file on your hard drive. A problem faced by most people is that they forget where they have saved their Adobe file on the hard drive thus it is recommended that you store it in a temporary file as well from where it can be easily accessed. When you are given an option of where to save the file do not click on the "return" key before checking where the file is being saved. Write down the name of the file and the folder or the area where you are saving the file to enable you to find the file later and not waste much time searching. 20

Finding the downloaded file. To find the downloaded file first of all shut down all programs running on the net and open the file where you downloaded Adobe Reader and double click on the program icon. If you are finding a file using Windows start by clicking on the 'Start' button and then on 'find' followed by clicking on 'files' or 'folders'. Then type in the name of the file which you noted down previously as a temporary file. Double click on the name which will display the program selected. Once the set up process is complete you can click on the PDF which you want to read. For getting details of certain areas you can use their zoom in facility to get a bigger picture and detailed information. If you do not have a printer, get a free reader installed in order to view your PDF document.

Adobe Acrobat is a great tool to manage PDF files, but if you need to search text in many PDFs, then you might be interested in using special tools for PDF searches.

Another application that is downloadable or can be purchased from the internet is available to aid your usage of the computer most especially in locating your files. You might be in a business that requires you a multitude of recorded files in your laptop or desktop every minute of the day. Let us say a newspaper or a publishing company is your main business. There are bunches of diversified files forwarded to your networks of computer the whole time! Your hard disk is your electronic notebook where you store everything you have created or recorded. Once this hard disk is almost reaching its capacity, it means you have a whole lot of files in it.

Even if your files are rooted to specific folders or subfolders, confusion and time wasted are unavoidable. With assorted files like word document, excel, web pages and PDF, you will really need a helper in finding your desired file. Using the search function in your Windows application might give you similar keywords and might cause delay in your precious time. Similar file names or keywords are unavoidable. If this happens, you will still have to open each of those related files to be sure on what you are looking for.

With the assistance of an application to find files in the hard disk, you can just search the files by typing the keyword and it shows you results of the files with matching keywords highlighted. It is also possible for you to move or transfer the files in a folder of your choice for easier retrieval and visibility on your next search. And not only that, you will be seeing some updates too if there are changes with some of the files, like moving or relocating them. It is like a history list of the previous actions done with the files.

Nothing more is convenient with this functionality provided by technology. The applications allow you to find the files on the disk in various ways. You can make a general search or you can narrow it down into specific ones. If you are trying to find a certain folder, then all you have to do is find the folder.

But if you're not sure which folder the file is in, then choose to find the file in all directories or drives. Sometimes, for security purposes, you tend to hide files and unintentionally forget about them. The application can also help you find some hidden files in your disk. And if there are changes made in your files, your archive files are still searchable after the files were changed after a backup operation.

Well, you will really need this type of support most especially if you store up a huge number of data in your computer. From time to time, you also make some changes with the files without remembering the full details. So by learning that using a backup program or application in finding these files on the disk, you will be somehow reminded of the changes you have executed with out scanning the whole disk the whole time. Find what you are looking for in your hard disk using an assistant and save much of your time more than usual.

The basic intent of a file shredder is to entirely obliterate the file. However, advanced software's does the dual task of not only destroying a file but also shreds the evidence that the file was deleted.

A file shredder works by overwriting the file, mostly once and if needed up to three times. The program then removes the file from the directory area by again overwriting it. Running a defragmentation after file shredding can render the file impossible to recover. Running a file shredder is imperative for anyone who is considering selling or donating their old comp. These are a potential treasure house of personal information that can be used to wreck havoc on pre users. Recent studies have shown a rise in the disturbing trend of misusing personal information and files on donated comps even after files were deleted.

People often assume that by deleting a file from their hard drive the file is forever lost. Actually the file is very much there on their hard drive. When a file is moved into the recycle bin, the file stays in its place. But the directory entry of the file, ie, the complete path and filename of a file is moved into a hidden folder. The file is then renamed; the original name of the file is stored in a hidden index file called INFO2. If at any point the file is clicked to be restored, windows read the original path from the INFO file and rename the file into the directory. So what happens when you delete the file from the recycle bin? Again the data is not deleted, instead windows simply marks the place occupied by the file as not needed and available fro use. The data will be there until the time the system needs the space for another file, when it will be overwritten. This dramatically increases your chance of recovering a deleted file if you haven't done any subsequent disk activity such as creating, copying and editing.

A techie who knows his job can easily recover deleted data from a hard drive within minutes. Even after it has been overwritten once, the information underneath the top layer can be scrapped up by using sophisticated equipments.

Trade espionages stalk the cyber world looking for tit bits of trade secrets that can knock you out of business within in days. File shredding forms one of the core entities in the complex labyrinth of security programs. There are basically three ways to decimate a sensitive file. One would be to use a file shredding software, next is using a powerful encryption and lastly a bit on the extreme side is incinerating media or pouring acid on it. Of the three the file shredder is the most practical for an average user and largely sufficient. The newer files shredding programs comes augmented with features such as wipe free space and wipe file names. Wipe file names allows you to overwrite the file names. After file wiping, simple recovery programs will not even show the file. The sophisticated ones show the name of the file, but it will be scrambled beyond recognition. Free disk space wiping is a powerful feature which renders it impossible to recover deleted files.

The effective management believes in efficiency in all fields of activity, whether it is in connection with production, business, services, project development or system improvement. The efficiency depends on proper projection of the activity relating to targets and achievements. This is possible only when they could visualize the future conditions. Metrics is a term used in present day management to effectively visualize the future projections through computer stimulated displays.

Quality metrics and efficiency metrics are mutually complimentary and are equally important for assessing the performance of a business entity. Energy efficiency metrics is a subject that has been in the spotlight lately. IT organizations are facing a crunch situation due to their intense data center power and cooling requirements. Considering this energy situation, The Government of United States initiated proper study of energy management and formulated the USA energy efficiency Metrics. Their Federal and state Governments proposed to make legislation to label all products in respect of energy saving and mark as energy efficient. As per this directive many research groups were forced to upgrade the products design and to make them high efficiency Metrics type to reduce energy consumption of their products.

Efficiency Metrics are applicable for all functional areas and substantial efficiency can be attained as proved by various study conducted. These studies were related to transport, productive time, housing, environment, corporate management, adult's social care and other similar activity. Various studies and seminars were conducted and proposal for Energy efficiency Metrics recommend. They recommended possible ways applicable to Electrical Engineering fields applicable Industrial customers, regulated utilities, Electrical utility companies, Efficiency advisors, State energy offices. These recommendations include required legislation for applicable efficiency standards, up gradation of building codes, making cost benefit studies on energy efficiency projects.

Efficiency Metrics in production activity is the area where specific studies were conducted considering the fact that international competition in marketing the products depends on comparable price and quality. Improvement in efficiency is possible with the assessment of future requirement, possible life span of the product, and how early the product is going to be obsolete. Technological development of manufacturing process and manufacturing machines which will be available in the market will be another consideration. Reduced manpower requirement, improved time management, availability of trained manpower and future economic conditions all forms points of consideration for improved efficiency. All these factors have to be stimulated to make a futuristic qualitative and quantitative product improvement, or change over to all tighter new product to improve the profit and efficiency of the organization.

Efficiency studies are very important for data management. Improvement in efficiency of data management is a requirement of the future as large amount of data that has to be preserved if lost is going to have catastrophic effect on the organization. Efficiency related study and research are in progress internationally in related industry. Efficiency related software for all fields are also under development.

So how can be efficiency at organization managed efficiently? First, there should be a management responsible for efficiency related process. Then there should be a software product that helps evaluate the efficiency, finally, the idea about measuring and controlling efficiency should be spread around the company.

Credit Metrics is a method of reigning in credit risk by modeling changes in credit ratings portfolio. This implies a propositional change in value of the holdings. Credit metrics tries to construct that is not readily observable, which is the volatility of value due to changing credit quality. This approach renders credit metrics more of an exercise in proposing models and which explain the changes in credit related instruments. More than often the models that best describe credit risk don't rely on the assumption that returns distribution is imperative.

Credit metrics is basically a framework that helps to quantify credit risk on portfolio of everyday credit products. This includes loans, commitments to lend, and market -driven instruments which are vulnerable to counterparty defaults. The sound of knowledge of Credit metrics enables you get a transparent depiction of credit risk. Transparency and effective management share a direct proposition and usually goes hand in glove. The common crisis that has been plaguing the credit risk measurement is the absence of a common point reference. The multiple approaches to measure of credit risk render them practically incomparable.

Credit measure and Credit metrics are often misinterpreted to be the same. When we refer to a measure we are actually assigning a number to something. A metric on the other hand is how interpret that assigned number. A simple example would be that of calculating a person's height. Let's ay it measures to 5.1 inches, the inches is the measure of the person's height and the, "height" is the metric.

Although credit metrics and risk metrics are similar in many ways they are not the same. The primary difference between the two is that risk metrics presents an loads of daily liquid pricing data which can be easily used to construct a model of conditional volatility. On the other hand credit metrics offers relatively less and sporadically priced data for constructing a model of unconditional volatility

The recovery of a claim remains unknown until an obligor defaults. Credit metrics on the other hand models recovery by using a beta distribution. A beta distribution is characterized by a mean and standard deviation. The recovery of the distribution is affected by changes in parameters as demonstrated by the beta distribution spreadsheet.

In credit metrics the changes in value is not only influenced by chancy default events but also by the upswings and downswings in credit quality. Credit risk also addresses the value-at-risk (VaR) which is basically the volatility of value and not just the expected losses. It makes sense to address the co-relation of credit quality fluctuation across obligors as it allows you directly calculate the potential over -concentration across the portfolio.

Modeling transitions for a single name is pretty simple. If one has an idea of the probability to each state, then he/she can approximately simulate a transition corresponding to each state by observing a random uniform variable. The transition can be made by basing on the outcome of the random uniform variable. The glitch is when there are multiple correlated names in the portfolio.

Article Title: A Need To Compare Pdf Files

Usually in PDF, what you can see in the file is the entire look of the page resembling that of a scanned text document. You cannot copy or manipulate the text just like in a word document. In cases like these, conversion of the said file is necessary. Other programs allow you to do that. In addition, another separate program can actually let you compare the PDF files from the original text or the other way around.

Imagine comparing a six hundred-page PDF document to its original form, would you think it would be accurate by just looking at these two files side by side and checking them per page? That would be a bunch of rapid eye movements and perhaps some points of missing out on some details. Most school projects like thesis, dissertations and term papers are now being accepted in a PDF file format. These are not only ten pages or so. It would take your precious time in checking for the details from the original text.

For a faster, easier and accurate way of file comparison, there are available versions of comparing programs for different type of files. A number of comparison possibilities are offered by the program. Comparing PDF file with another PDF file using the keywords would give you ease if you are so keen about details. You would not notice the similarity or the difference of two pages unless you compare their keywords. For busy and much occupied people, there is not much time in reading both of the article files just to compare them. The program itself will do this for you and it will analyze the article according to what kind of comparison you would want.

Aside from keywords, compare PDF files character by character is also possible as well as word-by-word. These functions are of big help when you are managing your files in your computer. Some of the comparison programs are capable of comparing folders too not only files. Your hard disk might contain many folders with subfolders and sub files. The program makes it possible for the browsing and comparing for similar files within the search range you have specified.

Comparing PDF files is very user-friendly. You can learn the process in less than an hour and you can compare PDF files as often as you want. Upon downloading the program, a step-by-step guide is provided and different options of comparisons are easily manipulated. And of the course, the program will also see to it that the changes you've made and comparison history are recorded. The previously compared files are retained for future references.

This is really a big help if you are creating PDF files and using them in your presentations or making a portable copy of a document with hundreds of pages. You can easily see if the file is exactly the same as the original document or duplicated in content. Different applications for comparing PDF files are obtainable in some internet sites. They are downloadable for a free trial. A lot of time will be saved and the quality of the file is maintained by using the application to compare PDF files.

    *********************** ARTICLE START ***********************

Binary comparison can be called as the process by which the similarities of two different digital data are found out. It is the common method used to find out the similarities of two data by the way of comparing it bit by bit. Take for example that a person reads through two different word files and finds out that both of them are exactly identical by in the sentences and the words. The main thing to notice is that these files could be in different formats. Thus, through a binary comparison the two files are compared on the basis of their structure. Binary files are those files that mostly contain only digits and not text or images. Thus, these files are also called as data files. Comparison of data files is important when one has to tally things and match two different sorts of data. Binary comparison eases the job as even files in different formats can be compared to each other.

It is increasingly becoming very difficult to compare the various files as it takes a lot of time. Thus, with the development of the computer technology, all this work has been set aside for the computer machines. There are a lot of softwares that have been developed for this purpose. The binary compare is a process consisting of file filtration which itself involves text and code lines to know the content of the files. This process can be only performed by specific software, and is not possible for a human being. This is the same process by which a person can differentiate a MP3 file from a video file.

Some other features of these softwares are that they allow the verification of the various errors that could be there in the files. Error correction is an extremely important task in the sub-field of computer-technology and this is of utmost important when we talk about data. They even conduct the various important tasks required for the file transfer protocol. The binary comparison softwares provide the users with the ability of understanding the various algorithms and formulas, and itself allows the software to verify and detect the various lines and codes of the file stored in the computer. The analysis work is eased to a very great extent. Thus, after the accomplishment of this process the software known which file should be omitted and which one should be included and can handle any amount of files and detect similar duplicate or similar files with the use of binary technology.

One of the most important features of these binary comparison softwares is that huge amount of work can be done in a single time. The concept of parallel processing is applicable here also. These software even provide brief detail of the files that have to be compared. There have been new softwares developed, in which the strength of the software can be increased for comparing larger files and complex data files. They can now even compare different types of files making the task very easy.

Doctors Robert Kaplan and David Norton developed a new approach to strategic management. They named their system of management as balanced scorecard. This balanced scorecard allows the company to measure in order to balance the financial perspective. The Balanced Scorecard is very useful tool for development of a company.

The balanced scorecard is a management system that allows one to clarify their vision and strategy and put them into action. This balanced scoreboard helps in getting better strategic performances and results. Thus, it helps both in internal process as well as external outcome. The scorecard consists of traditional financial measures. The financial measures tell us the story of past events and long term capabilities of the company also the customer relationships. The financial measures are insufficient however for guidance and evaluating, the information aged companies can make future through investment in the customers, processes, innovation, suppliers, technology, and employees. The balanced scorecard proposes one to view the company in four perspectives and develop metrics, collect data also analyze. This would be in relation to learning and growth perspective, the business perspective, financial perspective and customer perspective. The balanced scorecard methodology allows one to build upon the key concepts. The scorecard helps the company to get better customer defined quality, employee empowerment, continuous improvement, and measurement based management and feedback.

The Balanced Scorecard designer is software that makes the process of creating and managing the Balanced Scorecard simpler. The BSC designer would allow one to create key performance indicators, specify the importance of indicators, and describe relationships. It also helps calculating the performances the values depending on the indicators setting like min and max values, measurement units, and target values. The scoreboard could be further exported to Ms Excel file for further processing. One can create a set of key performance indicators and categorize them. Every indicator has its own relative weight that governs the importance. The scorecard when is completed is put to MS Excel for further integration and usage in business systems like CRM or ERP. This file could be shared with other co-workers also as a BSC file.

The manager, Balanced Scorecard reporting manages the annual and quarterly reporting function. BSC report recipients and stakeholders include the senior management and service lines, business unit leaders also functional nit leaders. The individual works with the BSC director to develop BSC measures also partner or principal communications and the business unit performance assessment process. This manager, BSC, is also responsible for improvement of the BSC information collecting procedure including the submission and corroboration. The manager also looks after the development of BSC reporting tools. The individual is provided with information in order to assist the finance leadership in reviewing the key financial metrics, senior management presentations also standard reports for assessing the annual report, or quarterly or monthly report. There are various responsibilities that the BSC manager has to take up. One can apply for BSC jobs online also. There are many companies that are recruiting for the various BSC jobs.

    *********************** ARTICLE START ***********************

MRU can be a nasty security problem that is bound to affect online computer users. The first block an intruder will face while attempting to crack sensitive files is finding their location. MRU makes it easy for them by beaming a path that leads directly to the files. MRU's is a good time saver tool during every day work but when someone gains access to your computer it transforms into a massive security hole. Most of the programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and WinZip create these so called recent files. These files contain information about the work you were doing at a specific time. Word files give information about the work done in the application. Internet Explorer shows the sites visited and everything you have downloaded. Recent files can lead to information leakage nightmares for companies and individuals. There are a host of registry cleaners that do the bad work for you by scanning and wiping off user specific category of files. Like if you want to clean up the MSU of Internet Explorer but want to retain the Word history.

While Clearing MRU's is relatively easy, one can easily screw up the entire process and end up messing the system registry. Publisher requires you to modify the registry to clear its MRU. System registry is a highly sensitive entity and wrongly modifying it usually ends up in having to reinstall the operating system. You must know how to restore your registry if something goes wrong if you don't its best not to tamper with it. For more information regarding how to restore your registry view the "restoring the registry" help topic in Regedit.exe. Always back up the registry before editing it just to be safe.

MRU clearing for Microsoft Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Words and PhotoDraw is done as follows. On the "Tools" menu click "Options" and click on the "General" Tab. Clear the "Recently used files" checkbox and click ok. On the "tools" menu, click "options" and click the "General" Tab, select the "Recently used files" check box and click "ok".

While the above process works fine, the catch is next time you work on a document it is again going to create a new set of MRU files. If you intend to clear the MRU periodically, it's better to partially automate the process. A registry backup is a must before attempting the following steps failure to do so can render you with serious data loss. Modify the registry at you own risk.

Start the registry editor. Click the parent key. Suppose you want to clear the MRU list for Microsoft Word .click the following key

    HKEY_CURRNET_USER \ SOFTWARE \ MICROSOFT\ 2003

On the registry menu, click Export Registry File. Name the registry file in the "File Name" box, click "selected branch" and click "save".

You can use this file to periodically clear the registry of MRU files. To do so, start the registry. On the Registry menu click "Import Registry File". Click to select the registry file and then click open.

HTML is a widely used markup language for indexing and modifying the content on the web pages. This helps to organize the structure of the text-based information by ordering the whole content as headings, paragraphs, lists, numbered etc. HTML also describes to a large extent the semantics of the text and also has the scope to include embedded scripting language code. HTML terminology also refers to the content of the MIME type text or as XML derived language form.

The process of file comparison comprises of comparing of data between different files that are a part of the file system. The main aim of the file comparison is to assist the user in performing several tasks related to networks, file systems and quality control operations. Programs known as 'diff' and 'cmp' implement this task. The approach used in various file comparison techniques is different depending on the technique adopted by the programmer. HTML - Hyper Text Markup Language is language that is used to write the textual portion of a web page.

The comparison of HTML files can be done as means of ASCII content files. The content text editors like Notepad or Simple Text are used to frame HTML files/documents. The frequent process of modifying the web page content can be achieved by means of file comparison. Some examples of file comparison programs comprise of Microsoft File Compare and FileMerge. Some file comparison utilities utilize the longest common subsequence and some use longest increasing subsequence between the files. The HTML file comparison tool compares the two web pages and highlights the differences in the content with respect to the modifications, deletions and additions. The interface to guide through the process of file comparing is quite user friendly and provides frequent and easily navigable options for the same.

The working of the HTML file comparison is marked by an organized step-by-step methodology. The first step involves selection of the file which has to be compared. Afterwards, depending upon on the size of the HTML file, the comparison process takes the requisite time to operate. The end result involves a summary report of the comparison performed. The original web page is displayed along with the deleted, modified and new files. The command line interface also implements the function of file comparison by executing the HTML compare.

The HTML file comparison works on the same lines as that of word processor's revision tracking feature. The similarity to 'diff' incorporates the features of highlighting any modifications in the existing file compared to other file(s). Some well-designed software utilities also enable viewing visual differences between the HTML files in the actual browser window. The fact that the differences in the files are clearly shown and also marked vividly makes the process of HTML file comparison a powerful tool to regulate and elevate the standard of content on various web pages. The File comparison tools also display the HTML code of each file in a side-by-side layout and highlight the changes in different colors.

Metrics Software The Good. The definition of metrics software is defined as measurement of a particular characteristic or a program's performance or efficiency. This can be a wide definition when we talk about metrics software. Their are four sections into metrics software which you will need to know about. the first one is planning. planning serves as a basis for cost estimating, training planning, scheduling and budgeting. The second part of metrics software is organizing.

Organizing is that size and schedule metrics can influence a projects organization. Which in certain situations that is true. The third part is controlling. Controlling uses metrics to track software developments activities for compliance to the plans you have made as a company. The four part of metrics software is improving. Improving is seeing where changes need to be made so the company can be more productive and change whatever isn't getting done properly.

Metrics Software The Bad. Many people think that metrics software has some flaws to it as it doesn't account for the human element in it. What this does is eliminate the human element which means in reality the numbers that are put in could be skewed. When you are talking about different factors as a management tool everything must be figured into it. Sometimes metrics software doesn't figure this in.

This means that not an accurate assessment is always available. For the most part though metrics software has many more advantages than disadvantages. Metrics software just doesn't put the human part into it which many people don't like. Basing performance only on the software could cause some problems.

Metrics Software Still A Great Tool. Just like many of the other tools metrics software is a great management tool. Businesses are always looking for management tools that will make their businesses more profitable and metrics software can help you do that. Managers love tools where they can break down what they are doing and how to accomplish their goals. Metrics software helps them do that and show company executives how they plan on getting their.

Metrics software breaks down many things that help companies decide which way is best for them. Finding out which way and direction to take can be time consuming and metrics software is a management tool that will cut down the time it costs them to get to where they want to be. Metrics software is used in many industries and continues to be the choice of many different companies because of the things it can do. I look for that to continue as businesses are always looking for an edge and metrics software is just another tool they have found to get things done for them. Look for that trend to continue and metrics software to be one of the things they count on in the future for management decisions.

    *********************** ARTICLE START ***********************

In the 2007 website awards ceremonies it is hard to say who might take the award for best website or any other category. The idea of conducting website awards ceremonies and giving out awards to websites around the web seems a bit strange as there are very few established industrial standards on the Internet. There are websites however, who distribute and create website awards for the purpose of creating publicity and improving public relations between the website and the public at large.

The specific target of all this public relations effort in the facilitation of website awards is for the benefit of the consumer at large, since the consumer is of course the target of all advertising and marketing efforts. By creating this buzz and fanfare around website awards, website promoters can increase their exposure and profile to Web surfers and Internet inhabitants. Webmasters rely on these awards ceremonies to boost their visibility on the Internet and increase traffic to their websites, which is the all-important lifeblood of the commercial Web site. By utilizing these website awards and other gimmicks and techniques webmasters can increase pay and converting traffic to their websites.

These tactics are very cost effective and require only a little bit of time and some programming knowledge on the part of the webmaster. The recipients of these website awards are generally chosen at random, or by the amount of traffic in their chosen genre or web topic niche and generally have little to do with quality or quantity of available content. While the concept of website awards is no worse than many of the tactics that are used on the Internet as well as an off-line traditional marketing and advertising, it does seem somewhat banal, considering that any traffic that reaches the website where the award is displayed has to be aware of the website to arrive there in the first place. In the matter of attracting returning traffic, it might be somewhat more effective, but it doesn't seem to be any spectacular motivating factor in websurfers decisions to return or not return to specific websites.

While the concept of website awards is likely no different than the general concept behind Academy Awards and other types of awards programs that are created simply to boost ratings and garner interest. In existing programming it is considered a highly effective method of advertising with a high return on investment for the marketing team. Creating website awards is a simple task of utilizing a few clicks and a software program to create some simple graphics and text to impress viewers.

While there are some legitimate website awards categories, they are generally just as skewed as any other survey or website awards program. The biased nature of these types of programs has a lot to do with the specialization of the webmasters and presenters involved in the website awards program. These programs are a lot more accurate when they are industry-specific. You will have a lot of additional traffic if reviewed and awarded at industry specific web-site.

    *********************** ARTICLE START ***********************

Call Centers, or customer services receiving and transmitting multiple requests by telephone, were introduced as offshoots of telecommunications providing streamlined service for consumers of large companies with extensive customer support needs. Normally, a call center is able to handle a considerable volume of calls at the same time, ie to screen calls and forward them to skilled support staff, where most issues can be resolved. Organizations starting from mail-order catalog companies and telemarketing companies to computer product help desks use call centers.

Typically, there are two types of calls ? inbound and outbound. The latter suggests the agent's calling potential customers with intentions to sell or service which is amply used in telemarketing. Apart from it inbound calls are made by the customer to get information or ask for help reporting malfunction of the product.

That's where the problem of management performance is acute. Performance measures and benchmarking are indispensable to any well-run call center to eliminate criticism of call centers on common themes such as non-expert operators, poor training of agents incapable to process customers' requests effectively, automated queuing systems resulting in long hold times, operators working from a script, etc. Benchmarking, typically associated with strategic management, presupposes evaluation of business processes in relation to best practice and helps to develop plans with the aim of increasing performance levels. At large benchmarking reforms all the levels of the company ? from the state of mind of the employees to that of top managers, penetrating into the whole hierarchical organization of the organization. The gist of benchmarking is to break the resistance to change by employing methods different from the currently used ones that might be less effective in order to increase certain aspects of performance.

The most conspicuous performance measures include the mean conversation time, or Average Talk Time (ATT), the time of delay a caller may experience waiting while queuing, the mean dealing time, or Average Handling Time (AHT), the number of calls (%) answered within the limited period, or Service Level (SL%), the number of calls per hour the operator handles, the number of calls (%) with the customer's problem completely resolved and others.

A variety of different technologies enables companies to measure and monitor the performance of the workers. The Balanced scorecard, introduced by RS Kaplan and D. Norton in 1992, is a concept for measuring a company's activities to make managers focus on the important performance metrics that lead to success. It's not only financial outcomes that are in focus, but the human issues that drive those outcomes. Thus, it is said to balance the financial perspective with customer, process and employee perspectives. Since the time of the original concept the scorecard metrics have been revisited by Kaplan & Norton with regard to more than a decade's experience.

Typically the following processes are on the move when the scorecard is implemented: translating the vision into operational goals, linking the vision to individual performance, business planning, learning and adjusting the strategy according to the feedback. To improve the performance of call centers one should know what metrics are best qualified. The right metrics should be performed on a call center to fulfill the scorecard.

The hallmark of a good call center is the staff's call management skills and that means interactive training can help achieve excellence at different levels ? for the agents, supervisors and managers. It is essential for managers to know how to recruit and train the staff to reach the strategic goals of the company, to manage the key metrics and consequently improve performance.

Different programs are designed to deliver training to call center teams. They might include practice, role-play, feedback and coaching. As keeping customers satisfied is a primary concern of any call center training courses feature quality programs which enhance the performance with respect to one of the most urgent demands ? training skilful professionals. It means they employ different training methods to evaluate current training processes and measure and improve training effectiveness. Fertile training leads to reinforcing the appropriate skills for performance improvement and achieving higher levels of customer loyalty.

Imagine you are part of a team working on a project that has files all over the place in folders stored on different machines, perhaps on the server and a few of the clients. One member is writing up the technical manual, another team member writes up the training guide, another pulls both of these text files down because they are road testing the guides against the machine that is being developed. In this article we are going to look at some options for you.

The big question is, how do you make sure that all of these files and the project folder are always up to date and everyone is working on the same material?

What about making sure that the project management is notified when someone makes a change to source material and how do they know who's done it?

Keeping everyone working on the same material, and maintaining a log of changes is essential and this all boils down to being able to compare folders and files stored on different directories or machines and making sure they match or if not, that the differences are highlighted.

Programmers have long used file compare software to track changes in software code that is being produced and the majority of solutions available are strictly for use on comparing text files. If you have images in the file you will need something a little more sophisticated, but a brief look on the internet will throw up a large number of file compare utility programs for you to use.

ExamDiff is a freeware utility that can be downloaded and provides an easy to use GUI (Graphical User Interface) that will compare Windows files including Vista files. Completely free to download it will flag up alterations and file changes, allow you to edit the father or son copy of the file and provides a simple clear report on what is actually different down to an individual character or punctuation mark.

This is pretty typical of what you will find freely available, however as the use of applications that also include graphical images and other non-text data increase eg MS PowerPoint, Publisher and so on, then you will need to be prepared to part with some money to get a compare utility that will be able to detect changes in these files. Similarly, the ability to compare a directory tends to need a more sophisticated file compare program and the better ones tend to cost rather than being free.

A good example of a graphical and directory enabled file compare utility is Beyond Compare which will set you back $30 for the fully functional edition. Not only are you able to compare and sync files and folders in a Windows environment but you also can compare ftp sites to see what changes have been made to website coding and compare folders containing zip files without the need to unzip all the files before running the compare utility. Beyond Compare runs a 30 day free evaluation but this does not have all the features enabled that you will get in the paid edition.

    2. Select "Tools" and go to "Folder Options"

    3. Click on the "View" tab

    4. On the "Hidden files and folders" tab, click on "Show hidden files and folders"

    It's as simple as that!

Windows hides some files because it doesn't want the occasional user interacting with them or indeed accidentally deleting them and causing a system crash or an application not to run. This makes a lot of sense from a personal and business users point of view.

There are also some circumstances when you will purposely hide files because they contain confidential information such as financial details or personal data that you do not want made public.

The question is though, what happens when you forget where you've put them?

After all, these files are hidden precisely so they cannot be easily found, and what do you do if they are password protected?

First of all let's deal with cracking passwords that protect files and applications. You may be surprised to learn that there are a large number of software tools that are freely available from the internet that will crack any Windows based password that is applied to an application, folder or file. These common shareware or freeware utilitiy programs include Protected Storage Viewer (just put those three words in your search engine and you'll find the download) and this utility will open and acquire the characters that a Windows based application or file will usually represent as the asterisks when the password input field is being used (when you type "password" it is shown as "********"). This is a pretty neat tool for when you've mislaid or lost your password and it doesn't need any external installation or complicated setup routine to get it working on password recovery. Even better is that this utility will work on Windows applications such as Outlook, Internet Explorer and MSN, basically if you are dealing with a Windows environment it will do the business for you.

Another good free utility for recovering passwords is Password Recovery Pro, and this is really simple to use. All you need to do is hold your cursor over the asterisk password field and the password will be revealed. It works on most Windows files but is no use for Internet Explorer or other web browsers and a patch for Windows Vista is not yet available but that should be along any time now.

If you are looking for hidden files protected with a password on your machine, you may find that simply enabling the Windows "show hidden files" does not pick up every hidden file. Just as there are password recovery utilities easily available, there are utilities that will seriously hide a file so that even Windows does not register its presence. This may be something you've done yourself but what if someone else has put a file or application on your machine ?

There are specialist utilities that you can use that will perform a security scan of your hard drive and perform various cross checks to see if there are any hidden files and if so, where they are and if they are authorized by you. You can imagine the issues that can be raised if someone has planted a key logging application on your computer that you cannot see but which is recording every key stroke you make, including when you are inputting your passwords for personal banking, online credit card transactions as well as snooping on what you are doing on your PC. Find Protected is not free, but you can download a fully functional evaluation version and this is an easy to use tool and again is very good at finding these files.

It is a common misconception of PC users that once they have dropped a file into the recycle bin and emptied it that that is it, the file is gone for good.

    Wrong!

All that happens when you erase a file by either deleting it or putting it into the trash, is that Windows has been told not to recognize the file so you do not see it when you open a folder or your desktop. In fact, it is not erased at all, the data is still there on your hard drive and it will remain there until the information is over written by some other file or data. Knowing where to look will also lead a snooper to those places in the Windows operating system that a casual user would not normally know about or think to look such as temporary documents or temporary internet files and the cache.

The issue is how do we get rid of files and information that allows you to have a degree of confidence and security that the data has been erased forever?

This becomes particularly acute when you are looking at recycling or trashing an old computer as many people are currently doing with the Windows Vista upgrading that is happening at the moment. Handing over a PC to the local school, charity or selling it on becomes fraught if you have data lurking their that can easily be recovered by a free file recovery program downloaded from the hundreds freely available on the internet. Imagine your credit card information, banking passwords or personal information such as family photographs being recovered in a matter of seconds from your machine?

Your first stop is the internet and simply putting file recovery freeware as a search string in your search engine will throw up a lot of utilities that you can feely use. PCInspector is a good example but there are many more, and here is an overview of the features you can expect. PCInspector will recover deleted files of a wide variety and not just Windows files such as Word, PowerPoint or Excel. You can recover html, xhtml, gif, avi, mp3 files and many more.

Moving onto the commercially available software, Stompsoft have a good range of file recovery software as well as an extremely good file erase package that has been certified to meet the US Department of Defense sanitation standard for data erasure. Typically, the commercial software tends to retail at around the $20-$30 mark but if you are serious about your PC security this is a small price to pay. Commercial software does tend to offer more features than freeware and to be frank, the support you get with commercial software does tend to make the price worthwhile as in many cases you will be looking to use a file delete utility prior to ridding yourself of the PC. Once the machine has gone you are not going to get the chance to go back and repeat a file erase utility in this instance so you need to get it right the first time.

Traditional ROI calculations use the level of profit generated by an asset divided by the value of the asset and expressed as a percentage. That's fine but when we seek to ascribe a value to non-profit generating assets we need to look at ways in which we can quantify the value that the call center is contributing to overall business operations.

Call center data management and manipulation has lent itself particularly well to KPI metric and Balanced Scorecard methodology. KPI/Balanced Scorecard techniques are a mainstay of the management of any call center and using the metrics that are being produced from these management information tools allows to start calculating an approximation for ROI.

If we move away from the idea of profit centers that need to be maximized and cost centers that need to be cut so logically increasing profit, we can start thinking of the different business components as contributing value.

What is the value that we can ascribe to a call center it doesn't create anything?

First, lets look at a revised ROI calculation, we can pretty easily work out a cost for the call center which is going to be used in the ROI calculation if we use that as asset value of the ROI number crunching.

Second, if we look at the relative contribution of call center activities we can start ascribing a value based on the effect on our financial and management accounting information. Linking information from customer service feedback and focus groups will allow us to develop an idea of the impact on repeat business for instance. Repeat business is something that our accounting and CRM system will be monitoring so we can get a value for that. The customer survey and feedback groups will also give an indication as to how important our customer service is in winning repeat business orders and that will in turn allow us to infer a value for that proportion of repeat business that is attributable to the call center efforts.

We are now close to being able to perform an ROI calculation in that we have determined a value that is created for the expense of our customer service efforts made by the call center.

Using such attributable value calculations for ROI is not flawless but it does provide a valuable tool for tracking the value of a non-revenue division that is being contributed to overall business success. Tracking ROI of this nature over time, as long as the calculation is made on a consistent basis will help indicate and highlight the relative success of initiatives and investment in the call center.

Calculating an overall ROI can be done by a broader attribution of value that is created by the call center and the total expense that is incurred by it. Used alone such an ROI calculation is not going to be of much help but the use of the incremental ROI that can be calculated for discrete costs and further investment in the call center is very useful for helping to justify whether incremental investment should be made or not.

    *********************** ARTICLE START ***********************

The idea of a brand is deeply rooted in the psyche of managers as being associated with the delivery of tangible products to consumers but today we are increasingly delivering intangible services rather than goods so is branding still relevant. Traditionally a business has been viewed by senior management as split into discrete divisions, sales and marketing, production, HR, IT, legal and accounting. Some divisions created revenue and b the brand identity was important for customer recognition and action needed to be taken to maximize that while other divisions created cost that reduced the brand value and this needed to be cut. Following this methodology would logically result in increased profits.

This led in practice to highly dysfunctional decision making with, for example, IT staff being cut only for decreased effectiveness across the business producing reducing sales generation and increasing costs in other parts of the business.

Decreased profitability was the result of making otherwise perfectly logical business decisions based on KPI metrics.

The Balanced Business Scorecard seeks to address this dysfunctional approach to business management and looks at how the entire business operates as a cohesive, holistic whole. Viewing all divisions of the business as creating value allows for logical rational business decisions that do lead to increased shareholder value and enhanced profitability.

Is measuring traditional brand metrics still relevant?

The blunt answer is yes, the company brand is perhaps more important than it ever has been but how the brand is being used has probably altered greatly as is how the value of a brand is perceived not just by customers but also by shareholders.

For many listed companies the value ascribed to the company brand accounts for more than a third of the company share value. In many instances, brand value accounts for far more than that. The issue is how do we measure brand value and what metrics are available for us to use as part of a Brand KPI tool.

Using financial metrics for brand performance measurement you will find the following as the primary metrics to monitor and analyze:

    - Sales Generation - measures brand as a factor in the purchasing decision

    - ROI - measures the ROI using the accounting goodwill value and treating it as any other balance sheet asset

    - Transaction Value - looks at the contribution from product lines and product mix and the impact of the brand on that contribution

    - Growth Sustainability -this is a measure of how much the brand is contributing to sales rate growth without the business introducing further investment to gain that market share.

Financial value is probably the simplest metric to determine as we can extrapolate "goodwill" valuations using accounting and financial data coupled with share price information. At least with share pricing information we have a set finite value that the market is placing on our business and the financial accounting information can give us a basis for determining how much of the price the market will pay for a share is determined by the valuation of the goodwill.

Measuring brand perception and performance is trickier as we dealing with nebulous concepts that we know have an impact but cannot directly measure. Performing customer awareness surveys will help in providing a measure of how well known the brand is with consumers in a given section of the population or target market segment. All of these can be measured but the metrics that are produced are based upon subjective questioning and even more subjective answers.

    *********************** ARTICLE START ***********************

The measurement of sales performance is an essential part of any business. The success of a company depends on its revenue, which depends on sales. To stay in business, you have to make enough sales that you generate more income than expenses. Sales performance entails more than just how much you sell; it also entails how little you spend on generating sales. For example, if you spend twice as much money marketing a product as you gain from selling it, then you need to improve your sales performance. Since there are so many factors involved in sales performance, the measurement of it also entails more than just measuring how much you sell.

A great tool you can use for the measurement of sales performance is sales metrics. These metrics will also help in the creation of goals and incentives. With sales metrics, you can make sure that you place suitable expectations on your sales operations, because the metrics help you set goals that are realistic, logical, and attainable. Otherwise, you may set unrealistic and unattainable expectations, or even worse you may set the goals too low. Metrics can include any measurable aspect of your sales efforts, such as number of phone calls, number of leads, number of hours spent on sales, and so forth. Try to avoid overwhelming your sales department with excessive tracking numbers. Instead, focus on the few metrics of most importance to your business.

Another great tool that can assist in the measurement of sales performance is a scorecard. Scorecards are often written on spreadsheets. A scorecard is simply a template for tracking your efforts in reaching your sales goals. A scorecard is a concise report with a set of measures related to your sales performance. You associate each measure with one or more targets. You can fill a scorecard out as you go, so that you will not only have a report once it is filled out, but also you can determine the pace at which you are reaching your goals. This will also alert you when sales performance is failing.

You will also want to use a benchmark to help you gauge your success and determine where you could use improvement. Sales benchmarking is an important process in sales management. It compares your sales performance to the sales performance of other companies and to industry standards. A benchmark gives you a point-of-reference. It gives you a standard which gives context to your own sales performance. You cannot know how good or bad your sales are unless you have something to which you can compare them. A benchmark is that something. The purpose of using a benchmark is to identify opportunities for improvement of sales performance and also to focus your sales efforts.

Use these general tools and methods to aid in the measurement of your sales performance. Nonetheless, remember that the measurement of your sales performance depends on your industry and your specific company. You want to find ways to best rate your performance, which you can do by finding the variables of most relevance to success as your company defines it.

Why use article marketing and not some other kind of marketing? To answer this questions we need to list first the types of online marketing that are popular today, then we will be able to compare results and will find out in what case article marketing works better than any other kind of marketing.

Let's start with article marketing itself. First, what kind of investment you need to do? You will need to write an article for submission purpose and you will need to submit it to 100+ web-sites or just to few major ones. The costs for copywriting service start at 10$ per 500 words and depend a lot on quality of the article. As for submission you can do it yourself or find really cheap options, for instance you can submit to bulk sites for just 10$. What about results? You will have an article listed on hundred of sites, that tells about your niche, and you will have a link which points to your site. There are good chances that Google will treat this page and the link as useful. As link comes from article which is related to your web-site topic.

What about other methods. What about directory submission? There are a number of directories available, and it is quite easy to submit your site to 100+ directories with high PR. You will be able to specify submission title (eg anchor text for you link), your description and your link. Good news is that it will not cost much to submit your web-site to directories starting with PR4 Google rating. But let's think about content where your link will be listed. If you are submitting business management related web-site, then you should carefully choose a category to place your link, the perfect would be "Business > Management", but there will be also a lot of other links. There is no guaranty that Google will treat these links and their description as related to your niche. But directories submission works now fine, it's a cheaper option (or addition) to article marketing.

There are also a number of methods. For instance, it is talked widely, that you should participate in forums for your topic. This is a great idea, but it will cost you much more time to find and answer questions in forums. Also, if you would like to hire someone to answer posts in forum you will have to pay much more than in the case of article marketing or directory submission.

Any other options? Actually, yes. You can run a free link exchange with sites and get inbound links, but in this case you will need to invest your time in finding sites, that are willing to exchange links with you, also, you will have to put a link back to this site. An option might be buying inbound links, it is easier to find sites that will place your link for some fee, but typically you will need to pay for a link each month, that is not a good investment I think, unless you have found a very good sites related to your product's niche.

The best idea about article marketing is that is is measurable, you will easily find out what works and what doesn't work. It is a good long-term investment in your online visibility.
