One of the big problems I see in advertising today, particularly on the Internet, is the believability factor. When I see an advertisement, email, or sales letter that sounds too good to be true, I instantly ignore it. There is so much snake oil being sold in the world today, especially on the Internet, that when I see big claims made for anything, I ignore them as being junk.
For example, today I received an email with the subject line saying, "How to double your business." My instant response was, "yeah sure, BS" and I hit the delete key. Then I received another email with the subject line saying, "FREE CHEAT SHEET: My 10 Most Important Business Insights This Decade." My response was, "yeah right, if you are such a business genius, why are you sending out spam emails like this instead of having a cover story done on you in the Wall Street Journal?" Delete.
Many marketers seem to think that for their advertising to get a person's attention, they have to make huge claims about their product/service being the best thing since the invention of the automobile and that it will change the world. The problem with that type of marketing is, NOBODY BELIEVES YOU! People are becoming so desensitized to big claims that they ignore them.
So, as a marketer what do you do? How do you mark your marketing and advertising more believable? Well, first of all, stop saying what you have is the best the world has ever seen. It's not. And even if it was, people would not believe you. Every company says what they are selling is the best, so there is no believability any more. It is just corporate hype and goes in one ear and out the other.
The second thing you can do is tone it down a bit. Saying you can increase a company's manufacturing output by 6% over 10 months is far more believable than saying you will increase a company's manufacturing output by 50% in a week. The first claim sounds like it could possibly be true. The second claim sounds too good to be true, so it will in all likelihood be ignored. Do not use whole numbers. An increase in profits of 6.2% sounds far more believable than 10%, 15% or 20%.
Another marketing tactic you can use is to include testimonials where your customers state how your product or service helped them. For example, "I bought the XYZ Widget from ABC Company and now my zipzopadoodler is not breaking down anymore and it is producing 3.8% more zibblyboos each month. Thank you ABC Company for making a great product I can rely on. Joe Doe, COO, Zibblyboo, Inc." And finally, use brief case studies that prove quantitatively how your product or service has helped a customer. It does not have to be long; 3-4 paragraphs is fine. The key is that your case study is believable and not over-hyped so your prospects can put themselves in the shoes of your clients and say, "I have that same problem and it sounds like this product/service is exactly what I need."

If you own or run a large company you will want to have the most effective sales force that you can put together. The best way to achieve a great sales force is to train your salespeople in all of the methods of great sales techniques.
Because of the size and importance of your sales staff you might consider hiring an outside sales training company to conduct the training. When you hire the company you should find out the methods and types of sales training they teach. Find out if they teach online sales.
A good sales trainer will train your staff on the methods of achieving sales through marketing strategies, online selling and advertising.
The techniques and tactics that are used by each business will depend on the needs and special requirements of the individual business. A quality sales training specialist will be able to analyze your business and determine the best techniques that should be taught in your sales seminar or training sessions.
Your sale staff will learn methods to decide on the best advertising methods and this will help you immediately begin to bring in new clients and customers. Your sales staff will begin to understand the correct methods for bringing in and keeping customers to grow your business effectively.
You might find that it is difficult to get all of your sales staff together in one place. A sales training specialist will be able to conduct their training sessions in a variety of ways to suit your businesses needs. You might find that there can be one on one session inside the company for sales people who work in the office and online training seminars for those who are out of the office frequently.
There are some businesses that don't find the extra cost of training the sales staff necessary. However, in today's competitive business environment, any advantage you can give your sales staff will pay off in the end. The online world has created an entire new way of conducting sales and your staff must be trained in these methods.
There are literally businesses all over the world competing for the same piece of the pie as you. That is the effect of online business on the commercial market. You must be able to draw in customers and sell them your product in an online environment. Or at the very least you must give them a reason to shop with you instead of online.
You should consider sales training for anyone in your business that has direct contact with your customers. Customer service and in office personnel can learn some great techniques for handling and dealing with customers in the most effective way.
There has been some data collected on the effectiveness of sales training. Some businesses have shown an increase in sales directly after a sales training seminar has been conducted.
If you are in business, you are doing it to make money. If you can increase the amount of sales you generate for your business, you will be bringing your business to another level of success. A new business or a business that needs an increase in their current sales will benefit from the use of a sales training company or individual.

When spring and summer roll around along with the wonderful sunny days come the buggy nights. There are a variety of bugs that are flying and crawling around in the warm seasons that can cause quite a problem for people. Some of these bugs are more than just annoying; they are actually harmful and destructive. When you use a pesticide that is based with chemicals you might find that the cure is worse than the problem. Not only are they irritating to smell, but they can actually cause a health problem for the people who are breathing them in.
A bug blocker is a viable alternative to these dangerous chemicals. They have recently become very popular among people who are concerned with the health hazard that is caused by chemical pesticides. There are a variety of bug blockers that can be used for varying purposes. One of these types of bug blocker is a window shield. This will keep the bugs from entering through the window that it is installed on. They have openings to allow air to enter through the window as they keep the bugs out.
A similar type of bug blocker is a wire mesh for your doors and windows. These are a great choice to keep the bugs away from the places where they can get into your home. You will find that this type of blocker is relatively easy to set up and will keep the bugs out, which is exactly what you want.
You should look around before you select the pest control device that is going to work the best for you. There are a wide variety of devices available. The type of device you select will be dependent on the type of insect you are trying to get rid of. There is one device that is effective for repelling mosquitoes and there are other types of devices that will rid your home of cockroaches, spiders, rodents and any number of household pests.
These devices are very environmentally friendly and will not harm people. They are simple to use and relatively inexpensive. You can find devices that are particularly expensive but you can use a lower cost device and receive the same results. The only difference in the devices is the amount of time it will work to keep the pests away.
If you are having a hard time controlling the indoor pests in your home, you might want to do a quick search online for some great electronic devices that are available. You can check out the various sites and find the best value for your money. Order it online and before you know it the electronic pest device will be in your home and working to keep those annoying bugs out.
If you have a termite problem in your home you will want to look into a product that is specific for termites. You can buy a product that will effectively poison the termites and it can be used inside your home or outside. Wherever you find a need to use the product you can use an effective termite poison. If you do not control your termite problem they can cause serious damage to your home. By putting the poison on the outside of your home all around you can effectively keep the termites from ever getting inside where they can cause the most damage.

Most people who are sick or injured seek medical attention. When the medical professional makes a mistake, it could have lasting repercussions that take years to heal.
Doctors are human and can make mistakes. They are not infallible. If this should happen it may be necessary to consult a medical malpractice attorney.
A medical malpractice attorney specializes in one area only. He or she knows the ins and outs of medical malpractice and can get you the best settlement offer.
If the unthinkable happens and you need a medical malpractice attorney, there are certain guidelines that you should follow when you start your search for an attorney:
• First and foremost, it is important to ask how many years of experience the attorney has. You will want someone who has the experience in both the courtroom and with settlements.
• It is important to determine if the attorney is part of a larger law firm. Larger firms have more resources available to them than single attorneys, and in some instances, it having these extra resources can be a huge benefit to you.
• It is important to ask the attorney if he or she will process your paperwork or if it will be passed on to someone else, such as a paralegal. Some people do not feel comfortable with having many sets of eyes on their personal information.
• Where the attorney is located is a major factor in your decision. If he or she is far away, then attending meeting could be difficult for you. If you are unable to get to meetings, ask the attorney if he or she will come to you. A good medical malpractice attorney will visit you at your home or in the hospital.
• Most medical malpractice attorneys will not charge you for the initial visit or for anything else until you have won your case. This is called contingency. It simply means that your attorney will not be paid unless you win a settlement. However it is important to note that most medical malpractice attorneys receive one-third of the total settlement amount.
• It is important to make sure that your medical malpractice attorney is present at all meetings concerning your case. In some instances, if the attorney is part of a large firm, he or she will send an associate to the meeting. It is important that you understand that you have the right to have your attorney attend all meetings with you. The same holds true if you have to make a court appearance.
• Another factor that is very important when determining the right medical malpractice attorney is the amount of money he or she can get for a settlement. Beware of an attorney that promises huge amounts of money without hearing the particulars of your case.
• Ask for references from past clients. A good attorney will have many success stories and should be willing to share them with you.
• Ask the attorney to explain what your rights are and what you are entitled to. This is very important to know incase the opposing counsel tries to contact you.
• Whichever attorney you choose, check them out thoroughly. This can be done very easily by calling the bar association of the state in which you live. The bar association has records of every attorney in the state and can advise you what the status is of any attorney and if they have a good success rate or complaints against them.
Choosing a medical malpractice attorney may be a lengthy process. However, choosing the right one is critical to the outcome of your case. Taking the time to research your options may result in a bigger settlement for you.

Automobile accidents happen far more frequently today because people are in a rush. It seems like the days of courteous drivers have been replaced with aggressive and dangerous drivers.
Can you imagine driving down the street, obeying the traffic laws, and all of a sudden hearing the sound of crunching metal and realizing that it is your car that is being crunched? This is the scenario that is being played out all too often. The shock of it all can cause trauma that lasts for years.
When you are involved in an automobile accident, especially if it was through no fault of your own, it is important to consult an attorney as soon as possible, and the same day as the day of the accident if possible. There are attorneys that deal specifically in automobile accident claims that will assist you in every way.
Finding a good personal injury attorney for an accident is not difficult. It may be a little time consuming, however it is very important that you find one as soon as possible to protect both your well being and possessions.
All too often people who have been involved in minor accidents who decide not to file insurance papers, find that the damage to both body and car is far more extensive than originally thought. By this time it is too late to do anything about it.
A good personal injury attorney will make sure all of your medical bills are covered and that you are not responsible for any follow-up care. In most cases, personal injury cases take several months and even years to settle, and in that time, you may not be able to work or provide for your family. It can be a very stressful time in anyone's life.
In the event that follow up care is needed, and insurance coverage is not available, a personal injury attorney will write a promissory note to all medical providers assuring them that all services will be paid in full at the time of the settlement.
Many medical providers will accept these types of notes and treat you accordingly, sending each of the medical bills to your personal injury attorney. They will be paid when a settlement has been reached.
A personal injury attorney will also make sure that you do not lose your home in the event that you are not able to work due to your injuries. He or she will seek damages to cover all lost wages, and pain and suffering.
He or she will have the experience in dealing with insurance companies and because they work so closely together, often develop a good working relationship. This benefits you even more.
The decision on which personal injury attorney to use is a big one. You want to choose someone who has a lot of experience in personal injury cases, however you also want to find someone who has an outstanding record of winning. All of the information that you need can be found by making a few phone calls.
An outstanding personal injury attorney will get you the highest amount possible for your settlement. He or she will know the merits of your case and be able to negotiate with the insurance company and work out the best settlement possible.
Finding a good attorney is like interviewing for employment. You need interview a lot of people and ask a lot of questions. Only then will you find the attorney that is right for you.

Businesses need to generate leads in order to survive. There are many different methods to generate leads, some more effective than others.
Businesses owner know that creative advertising catches the attention of prospective clients, however, coming up with the most creative methods can be challenging at times.
One method that is gaining in popularity is Postcards. This may seem a little unorthodox, after all, postcards are sent when you are on vacation, however when you stop and think about it, Postcards, if created properly, are very cost effective and a very creative marketing technique, and are a very effective method of marketing your business.
Using postcards to generate leads will also lower your mailing fees, and if you have a limited budget, you will be able to do a larger mailing that still fits into your budget.
When you first decide to use postcards to generate leads, you need to consider every aspect of the design. Deciding what message you want to send is critical to the success of your campaign. The amount of space that you have on a postcard is very limited, so the message you want to send needs to be clear and concise.
The design of your postcard is very important. If it is not eye catching, it may get tossed without even a glance. Avoid purchasing generic postcards; instead, personalize them to the products or services that your business has to offer. There are certain guidelines to follow to insure that your postcards generate the maximum amount of leads.
* The opening – try to personalize the message by including the persons name in the opening. When a person sees their name, they will think that the postcard was created just for him or her, and continue reading it. If you have their mailing address, you should also have their name or at least their title.
* The message – The first sentence of the message should be powerful enough to hold the attention of the prospective client so he or she will read through the entire postcard. Add only the information that is relevant to your business and how your product or service can benefit him or her. Do not add irrelevant information.
* Postage – Sending a postcard is not expensive, it cost half as much to send a postcard using a stamp. When people notice the bulk mail stamp on their mail, it usually ends up in the trash. Using a real stamp will imply that the postcard was sent by a real person.
Postcards can be purchased in any office supply store, however, if you want to really personalize them, it is very easy to produce them on your own computer. When you create your own postcards, you are completely in charge of the design. You can produce a truly unique postcard that is one of a kind.
Creating your own postcards is also cost effective because the materials that you need are already in your office supply cabinet and it is only a matter of printing them. It is important that you consider the design very carefully before you start printing.
You may want to come up with several different designs and print out one of each just to see what it will look like. This way, you will not be limited to just one choice.
Using postcards to generate leads is a method of advertising that many people are choosing more and more. It is a highly effective and cost efficient way of promoting your products and services.
It is not only used to market to consumers, postcard marketing is also an effective method of business-to-business marketing.

Whether your business is a multimillion-dollar business or a small on man operation, it is crucial that you market your products or services to as many people as possible. There are many ways to accomplish this, however one of the most effective ways to market your business is to create brochures to distribute to prospective clients.
When you decide to create a brochure, there are many things to take into consideration. There are also certain guidelines that you need to follow in order to attract and hold the attention of the reader.
Although there are many factors, the most important part of creating a brochure is the design. You need to create an image that is eye catching, however the content has to be written in such a way that it will captivate the reader so they will continue through the entire brochure.
It is critical that the information in your brochure is not only accurate; also that it is clear and concise. When you have a lot of information that contradicts itself, then it will be confusing to the consumer and they most likely will not continue reading it. A major factor is that the brochure flows evenly from front to back. Take your time and explain each product or service that you offer in a way that the consumer reading it will understand and want more information.
The content of your brochure must be easy for consumers to understand. It is important that you build up your business with incredible descriptions and to point out the benefits to each and every product or service that you offer.
Make sure that you stay on a specific theme for your brochure, this is very important because if you offer conflicting or confusing information, consumers may lose focus and interest.
Using graphics is an excellent visual effect for many people. When they see the product, both a thumbnail and a close up, they are more likely to request more information and possibly purchase what you are offering. If you offer graphics that actually show the product being used, consumers may infer that it is easy to use or operate and more inclined to make a purchase.
The placement of both graphics and text is very important. You do not want your brochure to seem like it was thrown together. Taking the time to create a well-organized brochure will only increase your sales.
When you are designing your brochure, color is very important. Black and white are great colors, and can even give your brochure a retro look, however choosing colors that are inviting will catch the eye of more consumers. If you choose colors that are harsh or consumers may not even glance at it.
It is advisable to decide on a specific demographic group. This is not only cost effective; it will give you a highly targeted audience and thereby more sales.
The most often overlooked piece of information is contact information. Often, contact information is vague or forgotten all together.
Your company name, address, telephone number, website address and email address should be included and displayed prominently so if consumers have any questions there are many options for them to contact you.
Brochures can be a fantastic tool to advertise your business, and creating the perfect brochure will take time and imagination. However with the right design, you can draw in consumers and boost your sales.
If you are a novice at creating brochures, there are many companies on the Internet today that specialize in creating brochures.

It is often whispered among privileged New York state golfers that members of the Winged Foot Golfing Club have been faced with a quandary and a dilemma that many in the golf and golfing sports fields would only dearly love to encounter and even endure. That quandary of quandaries being to decide and come to a final decisive decision as to which of their two courses are better – the East or the Western.
To have two excellent as well as exceptional golf courses at your disposal as a golfer and sports person is great and fantastic , however those with the great grace to have full playing privileges and rights at Winged Foot are blessed with two wonderful and well cared for courses.
Winged Foot took its name from the emblem of the New York Athletic Club with which it was closely attached and involved with for a lengthy time span. The two courses were both designed by the same famed golf course architect AW Tillinghast, were opened in 1923 and no doubt were quickly regarded as among the best going. After only 6 years after opening, the West Course played host to the US Open, which was won by the famed pro golfing legend Bobby Jones amazingly for the 3rd time. Jones defeated Al Espinosa in a 36 hole playoff by a more than astounding 23 shots.
In 1974 after the West Course was toughened up, Hale Irwin won the US Open championship with a score of 7 over par. If that is not testament to the legendary toughness of the West course's legendary toughness being well earned, then nothing is.
Winged Foot West course is blessed with some of the best par- four holes in golf. The scorecard allows ten par 4's with distances exceeding 400 yards, seven of which are more than 440 yards. Some of the holes are downright unreachable in two for the average player and those that are within range will most likely need a solid wood shot to get home.
The 17'th hole is a wonderful example of Winged Foot's par fours. The whole bends from left to right and at the corner are four huge bunkers. Keeping your golf ball away from them is more than a tough and daunting task. The approach into the green is most likely to be played with a long iron or wood and two more huge bunkers on either side of the putting surface are ready to grab any sorry ball unlucky enough to stray off line.
The golf course bunkers throughout this famed golfing course are notably more than deep, challenging if more than known throughout golf lore as difficult. This is certainly one of Tillinghast's trademarks and legacies and it unlikely that anyone getting caught in these massive bunkers will soon or ever forget it and them. It has been more than noted by members of the club as well as their occasional guests that getting in and out of these sand golfing bunkers always seems to take more than one swing.
Winged Foot Golf Course is not only a solid member's course , it has as well become a renowned demanding tournament test as well , with the likes of Jones, Irwin, Billy Casper and Fuzzy Zoeller winning opening titles here.

Article Title: You May Well Be In Catch 22 Of A Poor Credit Rating

*********************** ARTICLE START ***********************
You may well be in a catch 22 situation of a poor credit rating. It's not unlike the person who wants to enter the work force and finds that all the jobs they want require work experience. If you cannot get the job that will give you the work experience how are you supposed to get that work experience. Having a poor credit rating and ranking will put you into the same type of double bind.
If you are a responsible individual who both wants to pay off their debts and thus improve their credit rating you may well find that you are in a similar situation. The background reports, on job applicants that employers purchase behind the scenes often list credit reports prominently.
It stands to reason if the employer has to place you in a situation of trust and as well must maintain the crucial image of their firm, that one of their marking points and standard references would be the results of your credit report. In addition the new employee may have to bond. Having a poor credit report may well limit your job hiring and career prospects.
In addition, for reason of employability, you may need to purchase a car or find that you have to relocate and purchase or rent a new residence. Both may limit your employment opportunities, job offerings and range of job and career opportunities. Having a poor credit ranking may limit you heavily in both situations – whether it is for car payments or property rentals or qualification for a mortgage to purchase real estate.
What are the steps, procedures and options in repairing a bad credit rating?
The very first step is to obtain an actual copy of your credit report. A person can not plan a journey without a map. Not even a tent can be erected without a plan. Having a copy of your actual credit report can provide you with a proper list, and proper information as to what credit information has to be improved and repaired. This is the actual information that your credit rating is based upon. The only way to improve your credit rating is to work on those items on the list, by a priority sequence, one by one.
For the most part there are three major credit reporting agencies. Experian , Trans-Union and Equifax. By law these agencies have to supply you with a copy of your credit report on your request. This can be done in person, by fax or by computer. Of course proper documentation and identification is required. Of course in this day and age of computerization you can often obtain your credit reports from services and agencies on the internet. A professional fee will usually be involved. It all depends on your financial status. By using such a service you can save gas or bus transportation costs as well as time so that the actual net cost of the service to you may be small if any. Again it all depends on your finances and if you have the ability, in spite of your bad credit to have the financial vehicle – be it a charge card or Paypal to pay these actual fees.
Once you obtain your credit report a list must be prepared. List the items and records that are hindering your credit ranking in order of the worst first. What jumps off the page? It may not be the largest amount but rather from a creditor that is highly visible and in essence can do you a lot of harm. For example $ 100,000 owed to your uncle may not affect your credit rating as much as $ 5,000 owed to a major charge card or the IRS for back taxes.
Next make an attempt to make a repayment scheme to those first identified creditors. Explain that you know well that you owe them money and try to work out a payment scheme. The creditor may not even know that you have had a financial crisis. The system may just have identified you as a late payment over time – so that they have just assumed that you are a bad debtor who has no intention of paying off their bill. If possible deal with a senior employee at the firm. Work out a payment scheme if possible. Stick to that plan come hell or high water. Do this procedure one step at a time down your priority debt list. Call those creditors down the list. It is not as if you calling to tell them that some other creditor are higher up the list than them. Explain to the creditor that you are making plans to pay off your debt to them and their organization. You are attempting to improve your financial situation by obtaining a better job – in order to have a better income stream, to follow through on plans to pay them in an orderly manner.
Indeed if asked they may even give you an interest freeze. A piece of a loaf of bread is better than no loaf of bread at all.
In the end it all comes down to consistency and persistence. What you are trying to do is present an appearance of progress, of financial and fiscal responsibility of a person who makes every attempt to take care of their debts. Remember it is not so much a matter of specifics but rather of constant progress and an upward trend line on the bar graph.

If one of your new year's resolutions is to look after your body this year, you are not alone! Now February has arrived, no doubt your good intentions are long gone, however, small changes in your lifestyle can have an ongoing effect on your health and wellbeing. Get your resolution back on track with these simple tips:
1. Drink more water instead of drinking fizzy drinks. If you find water too boring, add a squeeze of fresh lemon or zesty lime juice to it.
2. Workout with a friend, you can encourage one another to stay on track as its hard going it alone!
3. Don't skip meals. Even a piece of fruit is a better choice than nothing and will help keep your metabolism up and ticking over.
4. Eat more fruit and more veges. Substitution here is the key, instead of having a side of fries, make a healthier choice and have a side of salad.
5. Swap out unhealthy snacks for healthy ones, reach for the fat free cheese sticks instead of the fat full potato chips.
6. Take some time out each day to relax, even if it is just a 5 minute walk around the block at lunch time. Make sure you get some fresh air!
7. Stretch - Get yourself moving in the office - if you are sitting at your desk all day, make sure you stop every hour or so, to get up and to stretch your legs.
8. Have fun! This is what life is all about, so make time to stop to "smell the roses" and enjoy the company of friends and loved ones. Laughter is great medicine for a lot of modern day stress and anxiety.
9. Treat yourself every so often with a massage or spa day! Look after your physical as well as your mental health.
10. Be kind to yourself and others. You will always feel happier and healthier with a smile on your face.

Article Title: Bad Hair Days: Loving Your Locks!

Let's face it ladies, when it comes to our hair, we have all had some bad days. No matter what your ethnicity or hair type, this is a common factor that we can all relate to. Whether it's the rain and humidity or just one of those days where your locks seem to have a mind of it's own. Well, as bleak as it may seem, there are a few things that we can do to get and keep our hair on the right track(no pun intended). Here are a few quick tips that may help you get through those times.
First, when it comes to styling products there are so many out there that sometimes you may feel overwhelmed when trying to choose what's right for your hair type. Here's a rule of thumb that applies to everyone no matter who you are. Less is more! Remember this ladies, when it comes to oil sheen, styling gels, spritz, hair sprays and even conditioners. These products, if used in excess, can weigh your hair down and leave you with a finished product that makes you look like you need to wash it all over again. However, if used sparingly (and I place extra emphasis on the word sparingly) we can all achieve that fresh from the salon look for just pennies at home.
1. It is a must that you find a shampoo/conditioner duo that your hair agrees with. Take the time to experiment by trying various brands until you find one that your hair responds well to. You'll find that if you change the product that you have been using for that last few months or even years, your hair will thank you for it and reward you with a better attitude. In addition to finding a great new shampoo, you should use a clarifying shampoo about every 8 weeks to remove the build-up from all the styling products you use on a regular basis. This will give your hair more movement and vitality.
Headnote: Clean hair is healthy hair but over washing can do more harm than good by stripping of natural essential oils. If you have dry and/or damaged hair, wash your hair only about every 7 days. If your hair is oily, washing it more often may be necessary. But whether dry or oil, use caution while washing (and combing after washing) to avoid breakage as hair is in its weakest state when it is wet.
2. Conditioners must be rinsed out completely to avoid weighing the hair down. Rinse in cold water if your hair is oily. This will close the pores in your scalp preventing excess oil to saturate your hair. On the contrary, rinse in hot water if your hair is dry. The hot water will draw natural oils from your scalp through the length of your hair creating a natural shine. Not too hot though, you don't want to burn your scalp!
3. A great product that is often used by professional stylists are anti-frizz serums. These add light shine and prevent your hair from frizzing and puffing up on those humid days and allow you to enjoy outdoor activities in peace. Anti-Frizz serums are worth gold (if used properly). Too much will leave you look a wet puppy… Again, less is more. Only a dime size drop is necessary; rub into palms and evenly distribute over entire head (damp or dry).
4. Oil sheen is only necessary if your hair is feeling and looking dry or dull and in need of a boost of shine. Never spray oil sheen closer than 15 inches close to your hair and keep the bottle rotating at all times. Over use of oil sheen will prevent movement and body in your hair and give a greasy appearance. Instead, opt for a hot oil treatment. Hot oil treatments are far more beneficial than oil sheen when it comes to countering dry/damaged hair.
5. Gels and Spritz tend to be over-drying but if you must use, opt for clear gels over brown as browns especially tend to over-dry the hair and look for spritz with no alcohol.
6. Avoid blow drying hair too often. Occasionally give your hair a break by allowing a little extra time to either let air dry or use low heat under a hooded dryer.
7. For those of you who use curling irons or flat irons on a regular basis; Cut back! Over use of heat styling is extremely damaging. If you haven't already, replace your old appliances with ceramic. Not only will ceramic curling irons and flat irons make your hair smoother, silkier and shinier they are far less damaging. Select ones with thermostat controls so that you can adjust the heat to a setting that is appropriate for your hair texture.
8. Lastly, there is only so much that we do from the outside. Healthy hair starts from within. This means diet and exercise is essential. Drink lots of water, avoid alcohol in excess, eat fruits and veggies daily, avoid smoking, and get up and get moving.
Of course, these are some basics. Achieving beautiful healthy hair is a life long pursuit. Let's continue to make this world a more fabulous place by loving our locks!

The Bay Area market is one of the highest priced markets in the country, so naturally it's more difficult for first time buyers to afford to buy here. Luckily, there are several programs that are being offered by various lenders that allow the borrower get a much better interest rate than they normally
would.
Two of these programs are ACORN and Cal HFA. Acorn is a non-profit organization that works with chosen lenders to provide below market interest rates to borrowers. Currently the Acorn program offers an interest rate on a 30 year fixed loan that is approximately 1/2 of a point lower than the current market rate. This means less interest charged to you, which in turn
means that you have more purchasing power than you would otherwise have.
There are certain guidelines for the program, such as income and purchase price limits, and borrowers must attend a free first time home buyer seminar to qualify. However, the guidelines are fairly lax and I always tell my first
time buyer clients that if you can qualify for the Acorn program you take advantage of it. No other lender program can match the rate that Acorn can offer.
Cal HFA also offers below market interest rates, and they even offer 3% loans for closing costs or down payment assistance that are "silent" which means that they do not have to be repaid until the home is sold or refinanced.
So if you are a first time buyer, make sure you ask your Realtor about whether or not you qualify for Acorn or Cal HFA, as they can save you tens of thousands of dollars in interest, and possibly allow you to spend more than you thought you could for your next home.
Interest rates in general are still near historical lows, which is why many are choosing to buy now instead of later. No one knows what the future holds, but serious buyers who are qualified can be assured that the interest rate they are getting is likely to be the best they can get for a long time to come. Most analysts agree that they probably won't go down much more, but they surely could go back up.

Love to color your hair or cover the gray but hate the price, especially if you have short, chin-length, or thinning hair and find yourself throwing out half the color afterwards? Ever wonder how to get more value out of a bottle? I did too. And I've figured out a system that works very nicely for me. Here is the exact step-by-step process I use to get two or more rounds of coloring out of each single coloring kit.
1) Pick a coloring system that has re-closable containers. If possible, make sure that the proportion in which the ingredients have to be mixed are either 1:1 (best) or something similarly easy to replicate.
2) Go to a good drug store or a medical supply store and buy a 2 oz plastic syringe or two. You may also want to get a 1 oz syringe for touch-ups.
3) If you need extra gloves, any drug store will gladly sell them to you. They come in boxes of a hundred gloves per box, which should last you for quite a while. Even better, they come in several sizes, so if you find the gloves in the coloring packages a bit tight, you'll be able to get a much more comfortable fit if you buy the ones in the drug store.
4) For coloring your hair all over, use the big syringe. If your hair is short or no longer than about chin length, half the "normal" amount of coloring ingredients should work perfectly. Fill in ingredient #1 to ž fl oz, and then add ž fl oz of ingredient #2, for a total of 1 ˝ fl ounces, while holding the bottom hole of the syringe closed. Make adjustments to accommodate your particular brand of hair coloring (the amounts I use work for Natural Instinct Semi-Permanent Hair Color). Carefully insert the plunger, and shake the syringe to mix the ingredients.
Be careful with the syringe when you apply the mix to your hair. Be sure to aim it towards the center of your head, and watch out for stray drips. You don't want any of the stuff to go in your eyes, or anywhere else for that matter, other than your hair.
5) For touch-up jobs (roots) use the smaller syringe. It lets you use as much or as little as you'll need for your particular touch-up preferences, and it's easier to maneuver too.
6) Bonus tip: I like the semi-permanent color because it fades, which blends in with the regrowth rather than leaving an obvious line. Until it's faded too far, I just do touch-ups every now and then, and a few minutes before the end, I rub a bit of color (the rest) all over my hair to make it look more even.
7) To prevent color splotches on my skin near the hairline, I put some thick moisturizer along the hairline, which prevents the color from settling in. If I find color anyway, I use the little color removing tissues made for that exact purpose and sold at Sally's.

Article Title: Teleseminar Success Secrets: Don't Learn These 7 Lessons the Hard Way (Like I Did)
Author: Elisabeth Kuhn
Word Count: 600
Article URL: http://www.isnare.com/?aid=270989&ca=Internet
Format: 64cpl

Easy Publish Tool: http://www.isnare.com/html.php?aid=270989
*********************** ARTICLE START ***********************
When I did my very first teleseminar, it was a bit of a stretch, and it reminded me a whole lot of the way a certain person once attempted to teach me how to swim by dropping me into the water at the deep end.
Compared to the results from my scary learn-how-to-swim (or not) experience, my teleseminar was a full success. Sure, I made some mistakes, but I learned a lot too. Not only that, but I immediately started planning my next one, incorporating all the cool tips and tricks I wish I had thought of before the first one. Here are seven key things I want to share with you to help you do your own teleseminar without having to learn it all the hard way:
1. Give yourself enough time to learn ALL the key features of your teleseminar service before you get started with your call. Make sure you know where to look for the questions people may ask, especially if you use a service that allows them to type them into a form and submit them to you in that format.
I'm sorry to say that I didn't find mine until afterwards, and they would have been very good to have while I still had a chance to fix the problem. What were they about? Several participants alerted me (or tried to alert me) to the fact that I was next to impossible to understand due to some serious background noise.
2. Check your equipment. Does your modem create noise in your phone line? I know this isn't supposed to happen, but it does in my phone. I had no idea how bad it sounded until I listened to the replay. Ouch!
3. Create an outline of what you want to talk about. For your own benefit and for that of your listeners. It'll help you structure your teleseminar and prevent you from running out of things to say. It will reduce your own stress, and make your seminar much easier to follow.
4. Use the outline. Be very explicit as to what you're talking about. Signal any change of topic clearly. If you think "linear" and "very explicit sign-posting" when it comes to your organizational structure, you'll make your audience very happy.
5. Remember that this is audio. This is important for two reasons: Only a small minority of people is primarily picking up their information by listening to it. Unlike an mp3, however, a teleseminar is usually in real time - when it's over, it's over. For the audience that means, if they missed something, it may be gone forever (or until they download the replay). For you, this means that you should be direct, speak slowly and clearly, and repeat key points at least once or twice.
6. Plan what (if anything) you want to sell ahead of time. Then mention it early in the seminar, at some point in the middle, and once again a little before you're ready to sign off. Explain what it is, and why your listeners would want it. Explain why they should get it NOW. Make the offer compelling and give it a deadline to get your audience to act right away.
7. One more thing: if you tell people about your teleseminar, some of them will actually show up. Not all of them, but quite a few, enough to give you feedback later. Don't believe the naysayers who warn you that "nobody" will be there. Somebody might, or will. Be ready to wow them!

We know all about the negative effects of stress, including everything from heart disease to diabetes to divorce to insomnia to suicide. Given all the bad press stress gets, it's easy to believe that stress is an evil that must be purged from our lives at all cost.
We continually seek out the latest in stress management techniques to achieve a less stressful life. To some degree, this is a good idea - constant negative stress should be reduced whenever possible. However, there's another side to stress - a positive side that's frequently overlooked.
Mental health professionals and doctors even have a name for positive stress: "eustress". Eustress refers to the constructive stress that helps keep you motivated and driven in all aspects of your life. For example, an athlete may find a big game stressful, but the nerves and excitement of this eustress encourages him or her to push harder and play better.
In this case, stress is a temporary response that brings about positive changes - such as the drive to play better. This is a very different phenomena than a long-term type of stress that eats away at the athlete's health and well-being.
So maybe you're not a world-class athlete - that doesn't mean you don't experience eustress in your own life. Maybe you get the same rush from performing in a community theater presentation or use the boost of stress to help inject energy into an important presentation at work. Perhaps you're someone who turns the stress of gaining weight into an impetus to spend more time at the gym.
Having a small amount of stress in our lives drives us to excel in everything we do and it enables us to feel content with life and the choices we've made. Therefore, getting rid of stress entirely is not only impossible - it wouldn't be healthy to do anyways!
We also need small amounts of stress in our lives to respond to the various threats and dangers we occasionally encounter. In this case, stress is part of the fight-or-flight response - a holdover from our primitive ancestors. When we detect the presence of danger, our bodies kick into high gear.
They release the hormone cortisol which increases the level of sugar in our blood. Our breathing rate increases and oxygen fills our muscles in preparation to either fight the threat or flee from it. Without this physiological response, we wouldn't be able to defend ourselves nearly as well against all sorts of dangers and intrusions.
While it's clear that too much stress can wreak havoc with your overall health, doctors and mental health specialists have found that too little stress can also be harmful. Negative stress causes a wide range of emotional and physical problems that can inhibit your energy and drive.
On the other hand, as long as it's reasonable and not excessive, a certain amount of stress plays a positive role in helping us fulfill our dreams and in enabling us to protect ourselves in times of danger. This eustress can give you the determination that's needed to work long and hard to accomplish your goals and will better equip you to handle the negative stress in your life.

Article Title: Stress and Belly Fat: The Vicious Cycle of Stress, Excess Abdominal Fat and Why It's So Hard to Lose It

Too much fat anywhere is not a good thing, but there are several reasons why too much belly fat is especially bad: It's the most likely to cause health problems, it makes it difficult to find clothes that fit, which causes challenges with projecting a professional image as well as self-esteem, and it also makes strangers draw inappropriate conclusions. Moreover, since it is often stress that either caused or continues to increase this particular pattern of fat distribution, the resulting stress from the consequences may well make the problem even worse.
1. Health Problems:
By now, most people know that too much fat upfront and center causes major health problems. We have read for years now that apples are bad - ie, bodies shaped like apples, with most of the excess fat stored right in the stomach. Why? Apple shaped people have a much higher risk of heart disease, diabetes, and related ailments. In fact, there's now a name for the body shape and its associated conditions: Syndrome X. And syndrome X is bad news indeed.
2. Professional Image:
The clothing industry has yet to catch up to the realities of body fat distribution among an ever increasing number of women. Most clothes that allow for a less than slender waistline are specifically made for pregnant women, and these days, many of them are designed to show off that pregnant belly rather than to camouflage and minimize it. This may work nicely for women who are in fact pregnant, but it makes things worse for those who aren't.
So it can be quite challenging to find flattering clothes, short of having them custom made. Some companies are beginning to see the potential in offering flexible waistbands, but far too often, clothes, even in stores specializing in plus-sized women, are designed for pear-shaped women. Women with apple shapes have a much more difficult time finding attractive, well-fitting, and professional-looking clothes.
3. Problematic And Embarrassing Assumptions:
Big bellies in men, sometimes referred to as beer bellies, can cause people to think that the bearer might have issues with excessive drinking, certainly a problematic assumption with potentially detrimental consequences for a man's career.
Women with excess fat in that area on the other hand are assumed to be pregnant, which theoretically has the benefit of being offered seats in crowded subway trains and such, but more likely causes strangers to feel at liberty to ask about due dates or even reach out and touch a woman's belly. While this sort of thing is an inappropriate violation of personal boundaries, it is also extremely humiliating to non-pregnant recipients, to say the least.
4. The Vicious Cycle:
All three of the above consequences of excess belly fat have yet another unfortunate consequence resulting from the previous three: They cause even more stress, and since stress may well have been responsible for the excess abdominal fat in the first place, and since it makes the body accumulate even more fat right where it's least wanted and prevents the fat that's already there from being burned off, the stress resulting from too much belly fat can easily result in more of the same and makes it even more difficult for affected people to lose weight and improve the situation. Thus, the vicious cycle continues and feeds on itself.

Article Title: Student Stress and Academic Performance: Seven Ways in Which Too Much Stress Can Affect Your Grades

*********************** ARTICLE START ***********************
You've probably been hearing the same mantra since elementary school - if you don't get good grades, you won't get into a good college, you won't get a good job and you'll end up living like a bum on the street...
All joking aside, your academic performance really does affect what fields you can go into and what type of job you can hold in the future. After all, you wouldn't expect a straight-D student to get into medical school - nor would you want them to. However, whether you're in high school, college, or graduate school, constantly dealing with stress can have a big impact on your overall academic success in any of the following ways:
1. Stress Affects Your Health
Stress suppresses your immune system, which causes increased susceptibility to bugs and viruses, as well as chronic health problems like headaches and upset stomach. It doesn't take a Harvard graduate to tell you that if you're sick, you won't be able to give 100% to your classes. You may not feel up to studying or you could suffer further from missing classes. If stress is causing physical symptoms, it's time to consult a professional therapist or stress management consultant.
2. Stress Affects Memory Retention
Students who experience large amounts of stress in their lives often have trouble with memory retention. When you're stressed, you're more likely to forget the facts and figures presented in class, and you'll be less likely to successfully recall this information on tests, labs and on real life applications. Obviously, this is a problem for anyone who wants to do well in college, so try to identify and remedy the causes of stress in your life if you find you're forgetting more than you retain from your classes.
3. Stress Causes Anxiety
Students who face a tremendous amount of stress may also suffer from anxiety - ranging from mild cases of worry to severe, can't-leave-the-house cases of nerves. If you're suffering from anxiety at any level, you'll find that you can't focus as well on your school work or on other aspects of student life like extra-curricular activities and personal relationships.
4. Stress Affects Your Judgment
Stress has a definite impact on student judgment. Some students will turn to illegal drugs, prescription medications or binge-drinking in order to escape from the affects of stress. However, turning to drugs and alcohol doesn't erase the source of your stress - it only adds more. Substance abuse is a serious problem, so if you find yourself pouring a glass or four of wine each night to help you wind down, it's time to seek professional guidance.
5. Stress Compromises Your Future Outlook
Stress can turn an ambitions, driven student into one who's nervous and unsure about the future. It's easy to feel overwhelmed when you have a test Monday, a paper due on Wednesday and a major lab on Friday - but don't let the little things affect your drive for success. If you find yourself thinking that there's no way you'll get everything done, try breaking large tasks down into smaller pieces and tackle them one bit at a time.
6. Stress Affects Your Self-Esteem
Students who feel overwhelmed by stress may experience feelings of guilt and hopelessness, causing their self-esteem to falter. If you've dropped the ball on your academic work, it's easy to feel like you'll never get back on track - but don't think like this! If you get too caught up in your recent stumbles, you'll lose track of all the positive strides you've made in your studies. Remind yourself of all the good things you've accomplished so far and find small, concrete ways to get back on the right path.
7. Stress Can Lead to Mental Health Problems
It's easy to let the competing academic and personal priorities of being a student get the better of you as a student, and it can become difficult to see outside all this stress. As a result, many students - particularly college-aged students - end up dealing with depression or thinking suicidal thoughts. If you're ever feeling that there's no way out of the stress you're under, seek proper care immediately - there are people who understand what you're going through that can help you work through the stress you're dealing with.

Article Title: Deadly Stress - Seven Ways in Which Too Much Unrelenting Stress Can Kill You

*********************** ARTICLE START ***********************
Maybe this sounds a little overdramatic, but unfortunately the reality is that excessive, untreated stress can actually kill you. When you're stressed, your body produces the hormone cortisol, which is designed to get your rear in gear as part of the fight-or-flight mechanism. However, this hormone is meant to be released only occasionally in small doses – when stress causes it to be secreted for long periods of time, the body reacts with a variety of different health consequences.
The following are seven of the major health effects caused by stress. If you're experiencing any of these conditions and believe they may be linked to stress, seek medical counseling as soon as possible:
1. Diabetes
Diabetes occurs when the body produces too little insulin to process all the sugars in your body. As these sugars build up, you may experience a number of health problems including thirst, headaches and weight loss. Over time, the condition can cause complications ranging from heart disease, stroke, kidney disease, eye damage, nerve damage, diabetic neuropathy, skin conditions, and gastrointestinal problems.
2. High Blood Pressure
High blood pressure is often referred to as a "silent killer" because there are few actual symptoms that present with the disease. High levels of stress can bring on this condition, which can result in an aneurysm, coronary heart disease, enlarged heart, damage to the brain and even heart attack. If that isn't a good enough reason to learn to manage your stress – I don't know what is!
3. Weight Gain
People under high levels of stress often experience fluctuations in weight – as anyone who's ever taken comfort in candy bars knows all to well. However, if your weight gain gets out of control, you could be putting yourself at risk for developing cancer, heart problems, high blood pressure, diabetes, stroke, sleep apnea, liver disease and gallbladder disease. If you notice that you've put on a few pounds, try hitting the gym – exercise is also a natural stress reliever.
4. Susceptibility to Disease
Your body can only do so much – when you're under constant pressure, its resources are being diverted to help respond to stress. This leaves the immune system compromised and susceptible to infection by viruses and bacteria. If you've ever noticed yourself coming down with a bug when you're at your most stressed, it isn't just a coincidence – it's your body letting you know that you're under too much stress to handle safely.
5. Depression
Constant stress can make you feel like there's no way out of your predicament, which can eventually lead to feelings of hopelessness and depression. Depression is a serious disease – it's nothing to take lightly. If you find yourself feeling trapped by feelings of despair and despondency, seek professional help immediately.
6. Heart Disease
Type A people beware – stress can and does cause heart disease and heart attacks. Stress contributes to the buildup of plaque in the arteries. As the arteries narrow, the heart has to push the blood even harder to distribute it throughout the body. Over time, this extra stress on the heart can have devastating effects.
7. Cancer
While there's no proven link between stress and cancer, it's widely accepted that excessive stress is a risk factor for developing a type of this deadly disease. Overall, stress weakens the immune system which may allow cancerous tissues to develop and flourish. If you feel that excessive negative stress is causing your immune system to break down, seek help to learn effective stress management techniques that allow you to cope properly.

Article Title: Info Product Dashboard (By Marlon Sanders). A Review
Author: Elisabeth Kuhn
Word Count: 726

Format: 64cpl

Easy Publish Tool: http://www.isnare.com/html.php?aid=206856
*********************** ARTICLE START ***********************
I got my copy of Marlon Sanders' Info Product Dashboard just a few days ago, and this was my reaction after giving it the first close look-over:
Wow! All the fancy techniques that I've seen other people use and that made me think, "Sheesh! I sure would like to be able to do that!" They're all there! Just to give you an example: instructions on how to put little musical intros at the beginning of my audio products. It's all part of the dashboard's easy-to-follow step-by-step format.
The info product dashboard divides the product creation process into 6 weeks with 6 (daily) steps each. Most of the resources needed to complete them are either free or actually included as bonuses with the dashboard purchase.
Each week also has a brief audio overview by Marlon himself, where he explains the six upcoming steps. I listened to all 6 of the weekly previews immediately, so I have a pretty good idea what I'll be able to do once I've completed the process.
The descriptions are nicely detailed and clear, so I'm finding it all very doable. Besides, Marlon's tech support is friendly and helpful, just in case I (or anyone else) should ever get stumped! Not only that, but there is even a discussion forum where all the new dashboard owners can ask questions that are then answered. Pretty cool!
The only drawback, if it can even be called that -- the first go-around is going to take me quite a bit longer than 30 minutes per step, at least for some of the steps. I'm still working on step one (and two), and some steps will definitely take WAY longer than 30 minutes.
Does Marlon really think we can pinpoint a suitable market and come up with a targeted product for it in 30 minutes? Does he really think we can find, and contact several potential JV partners in 30 minutes, oh, and negotiate a deal with them, all in the same time-frame? He's gotta be kidding! Actually, he does admit that a few steps will take longer...
But once accomplished, those same steps will provide contacts and material for many different future products, so I guess I'll just have to divide the time investment by all the products that I'll eventually develop from those efforts.
Some of the other steps are going to be faster, and occasionally even skippable (such as when they're not applicable, ie, no video required for an audio product OR if I've already taken care of something, ie, choose host and/or domain name etc.), so it will even out, especially over time.
Plus, with the second and third and fourth etc. product, the process will get faster and faster!
So just in case it isn't obvious by now, I'm very happy with my new dashboard! And, by the way, if you think it's just for newbies, you may want to reconsider. Yes, the dashboard is easy to follow, and yes, the steps are well explained, so yes, it is an excellent tool for newbies.
But it also offers some very sophisticated techniques, and unless you're a very experienced marketer, you're likely to find at least something useful here, certainly enough to make the investment worth your while.
How would I know that? I already own several product-creation programs, and Marlon's offers tools that I haven't found in any of the others.
Maybe some marketers are keeping the really good stuff to themselves. No matter. Marlon's Info Product Dashboard is by far the most comprehensive system I've come across yet (which is what Marlon said he had in mind when he created it. From everything I've seen, he succeeded)!
Even better, his Info Product Dashboard is priced extremely competitively when compared to most and maybe even all the other even remotely as comprehensive options out there.
I will provide regular progress reports as I work with my new dashboard, so if you're curious and want to know how I'll do once I'll hit the more technically challenging spots, just check my favorite self-help blog for updates... and stay tuned for my soon-to-appear newly created info products.

Simple cash on the internet? Is it really possible?
That's been the promise of a lot of programs that are probably cluttering up your hard drive. Just think of all the sure things that were supposed to rake in the cash on autopilot. Think of all the miracle money-making schemes that hardly required any work. All you had to do is buy in. Did they deliver?
If you're like me, the gurus have buried you under serious information overload. You can't see the forest for the trees. And every week, there's another expensive next big thing that you absolutely must have to avoid impending doom in the wonderful world of internet marketing.
The programs themselves, in the meantime, often leave out crucial information, so you can't even implement them without signing up for the premium coaching programs that are conveniently offered for those who are really serious.
Well, I found something very different: The Rhodes Brothers and their Simple Cash Blog.
At first, I was afraid I'd be taken for yet another ride. But no…
The brothers, Matt and John Rhodes, are no-nonsense, and their materials are fluff-free and clear! They presents us with step-by-step walk-throughs. A growing number of them are available free for the members of their Simple Cash Blog, along with examples, freebies, and how-tos, and, of course, a forum where the brothers answer questions and offer further resources. Some premium products are offered to members at half their normal price.
What exactly can be found on the Simple Cash Blog? Several step-by-step paths to a working, money-generating online business. Ways to bring in traffic that doesn't require big up-front investments. Ways to set up websites that work without the services of a fancy web designer. Ways to set up membership programs without fancy programming. And ways to put article marketing on steroids.
Are they doing it out of the goodness of their hearts? Probably, at least in part, but they're also savvy marketers: Members of their Simple Cash Blog also become instant affiliates with an impressive pay-out. Several of their products come with Master Resell Rights, so the whole thing is set up so that anyone who puts in some serious effort is practically ensured success.
Not millions maybe. Not even six figures, at least not overnight. But there's plenty of growth potential and definitely enough to make it well worth anyone's time to get started.
One drawback? The completely computer illiterate newbie may still feel a bit stumped. Most materials in the Simple Cash Blog assume basic familiarity with setting up websites and autoresponders. But there's also a guide for newbies that starts off at a more basic level. With a little help from the forum, most people should manage.
All in all, the Simple Cash Blog is a welcome relief from the overprized million dollar launches and the relentless parades of one must-have "Next Big Thing" after another. My only regret: I wish I had found the Simple Cash Blog a whole lot sooner.

Article Title: Squidoo Success Secrets: How To Avoid Three Embarrassing Mistakes That Could Trip You Up.

Here are three easy Squidoo strategies that can prevent you from making embarrassing mistakes. Experienced lensmasters might scoff at my oh-so-basic tips, so if that's you, please go away and find something more complicated. But if you're a beginner, keep reading.
Squidoo seems easy enough to navigate. Once you figure out how it works, you can put together a nice enough looking lens in all but 15 minutes. But appearances can be deceptive. The apparent ease can lure you into a false sense of confidence. The fact is, there are a few things that could trip you up.
And the frustrating thing about them: You may never notice. Or at least not for a while. Meanwhile, you wonder why your lens doesn't bring you the visitors or the sales you thought it would.
So here are three tips that will help you avoid those embarrassing mistakes:
1. When you start a lens, make sure you have enough time to set up at least 4 modules or so. Why? If you try to leave earlier than that, Squidoo sometimes won't let you publish your lens. You could leave it unfinished, I suppose, but what good is that going to do? And even IF Squidoo lets you publish it, it will rank rock bottom, so it won't be particularly useful. For a little while it even seemed as if Squidoo might actually encourage others to take over your lens, but that didn't actually turn out to be the case (I think).
Here's something else to watch out for though that caused that appearance: If you slightly misspell the name of our lens, it may look as if you're being invited to take over your own lens. But that may not be the case. Instead, you're really invited to start on an entirely new lens. So here's a piece of advice that sounds like so much common sense, but then, common sense is a good thing, right? Write down your lens name somewhere where you'll find it again. And if you think you're invited to take over your own lens, check the spelling. If you're wondering why I have two lenses with almost identical names -- here's your answer.
2. When you insert links, be sure to remember to include the "http://" bit! Why? Just as an experiment, try to leave it out and watch what happens: If you click on the link, it will take you to an "under construction" Squidoo lens. That lens will have the name of your link and Squidoo will invite you to take it over! Ouch! Imagine someone else had clicked on that link.
3. After editing or modifying your lens, don't forget to hit the "Publish" button! Sure, you may have "saved" the individual parts, but that's not good enough. If you don't click "Publish," your lens will remain exactly like it was before you invested all that hard work in making your revisions. Ouch again!
No, none of these is necessarily a big deal. Not for some people. But they can be for you if you think your links lead back to your website, yet what they really do is invite your hoped-for visitors to build their own Squidoo lens -- with YOUR website's name on it! Not only does this defeat the purpose, it also makes you look unprofessional.
So you have to be on your toes: Make sure you allow enough time to finish what you start – or at least make enough progress that your lens is solid enough that Squidoo will let you publish it. And remember the spelling!
Then, double-check all your links after you've saved your lens. This, of course, really should be "good practice," but how often do we skimp on that step.
And lastly, make sure you re-publish your lens after any and all changes. Because if you don't, the changes won't stick. Easy? Yes. Insignificant? Not if you miss even one of them!

Article Title: Grammar Made Easy And The 80/20 Principle: Less Stressful And Much More Effective Than The Traditional Approach

Easy grammar and the 80/20 principle? Is there really a connection? Not only is it for real, but it's pretty amazing that it hasn't caught on yet. It's high time that it does because it can save many people a lot of headaches.
Just in case you don't already know the 80/20 principle from sales, here's a quick explanation: 20% of most salespeople's clients account for 80% of their sales. Which means, of course, that the other 80% percent of their clients aren't paying their way. The logical consequence: It pays to focus mostly on taking very good care of the 20% that do. Maybe those customers will buy even more. And if not, at least the salespeople will have a bit more free time...
The 80/20 principle doesn't just work for sales, though. When I learned English (which is my second language), for example, my favorite word-building book was based on the very same principle. It had three sections:
1) About 150 words made up at least 10% of all the words in any average document. They included the basics, such as articles, conjunctions, most prepositions, and numbers.
2) Another 1,000 or so words, together with the really basic 150 words, covered well over 90% of the words in any average text.
3) Several thousand more words were divided into subject areas, so I could study just what I needed. When I wanted to talk about the weather, I'd look up weather words. When my hypochondria got the better of me, I studied the medical section. I've been getting by very nicely ever since.
English has tens of thousands of additional words, of course, but that's what big dictionaries are for. And how often do you ever need those?
The same is true for grammar, where the 80/20 principle works much the same way. With just 20% of the "rules," you can cover almost all of the territory you'd ever need, at least if you pick the right 20%.
That seems hard to believe if you look at those grammar books filled with thousands of obscure little rules, all of them designed to intimidate. Many of you probably met all those rules in high school. How many do you remember? Not many, probably.
The traditional approach to grammar is really a factoid-based trivial pursuit-type approach. It's not very efficient. Compare how the 80/20 approach covers that territory:
1) There are the basic ingredients and a system to put them together into sentences.
2) There are a few rules that help you avoid the major problems, such as agreement errors, weird tense sequences, and dangling modifiers.
3) There are some nifty techniques to make your sentences more effective and your prose flow better. Those three make up the 20%.
Beyond that, for the other 80%, you have two options: You could look up what you need in some big grammar book. Or, and here's your secret weapon, you could rewrite the sentence. It's your sentence, after all, and you get to write it any way you want to. Just pick a way you know how to handle.

Article Title: Teleseminar How-to Guide: The T-Profit System. A Review

Teleseminars seem to be all the rage these days, and for good reason. They're a great way to build lists and make money, both for the organizers and their guests. They're also really great for creating a connection between audience and expert, a connection that has two-way benefits.
If you've been wondering how you could possibly get in on the action, wonder no more: Filmmaker Andy Duncan (of "I Need Cash Now" fame) and his business partner Steve Roye have put together the T-Profit System, the ultimate step-by-step how-to guide for putting together a teleseminar series that delivers the goods, for the audience, your JV-partners, and yourself.
You may have thought you could never do that. You may not think of yourself as an expert. You don't think you're very witty. Heck, you may be shy! But Andy and Steve will quickly reassure you that neither exceptional wit nor fame or even expertise is required. Even better, teleseminar are among the easiest and most inexpensive products to produce. What's not to like?
The T-Profit system consists of a total of eight MP3s, along with PDF transcripts, plus live Q&A sessions.
First, there are the four instructional MP3s, in which Andy and Steve present the basic formula. They give some background and how they themselves got started. They talk about the reason why teleseminars work as well as they do. And then they launch into the details of exactly how you can go about putting together your own.
BTW, "instructional" may not be quite the right word for those MP3s. Yes, you'll learn a ton - as promised. But they are so much fun you sure won't feel like you're studying terribly hard.
Just in case you're still intimidated, they provide you with three examples of teleseminars with experts who themselves were new to the teleseminar genre. For two of them, that very teleseminar you'll be hearing was their very first. And yet, they sound like old pros!
As mentioned above, the MP3s also come with transcripts, and many of them have outlines as well. A bonus seminar, produced as a bonus for one of the example seminars, is included as well. It's a terrific introduction to affiliate marketing by Erik Stafford, also known as the Faster Webmaster.
Here's yet another thing that makes T-Profit System special: included in the price are three bonus coaching calls in monthly intervals (actually, there was a fourth one that took place right after the system was launched, for all the early bird sign-ups), where Steve and Andy will answer any questions that come up.
And I really mean ANY questions. Andy and Steve are incredibly gracious and helpful. I've asked a few really basic questions, and Steve walked me patiently through all of my challenges. He did the same for other callers. They didn't even laugh!
I bought T-Profit System the minute it came out. Why? I loved Andy's "I Need Cash Now" program, and also did Andy and Steve's 4 week coaching program. I got so much out of the two programs, I felt the T-Profit system was a complete no-brainer.
And that even though I believed that I already knew enough about teleseminars from the coaching program (and I did know a lot!), this program actually delivered even more details and step-by-step guidelines, thereby greatly reducing the intimidation factor, and greatly increasing the potential for success. I also find that I learn best when I get the same info presented several different ways.
Considering that I was a total web newbie about 6 months ago, I keep finding myself absolutely astonished by how far I've come. I have multiple websites, blogs, I've already come up with a concept for a series of teleseminars, and I have even done (and uploaded!) my first interview. Look for more on all that in the near future. For right now though, you may want to check out the T-Profit System, so you'll get in on the live coaching calls while they last.
