If the causes of arteriosclerosis are known, remedial action should be taken promptly to remove them. To begin with, the patient should resort to short juice fast for five to seven days. The juices of fresh raw vegetables and fruits may be taken diluted with water on 50:50 basis. Grape-fruit, pineapple, lemon and juice of green vegetables are specially beneficial. A warm water enema should be used daily to cleanse the bowels during the period of juice fasting.

After that, the patient should take optimum diet consisting of seeds, nuts and grains, vegetables and fruits, with emphasis on raw foods and sprouted seeds. Vegetable oils like sunflower oil, flex seed oil and olive oil should be used regularly. Further short fasts on juices may be undertaken at intervals of three months or so, depending on the progress being made.

The patient should take several small meals instead of a few large ones. He should avoid all hydrogenated fats and an excess of saturated fats, such as butter, cream, ghee and animal fat. He should also avoid meat, salt and all refined and processed foods, condiments, sauces, pickles, strong tea, coffee, white sugar, white flour and .all products made from them. Foods cooked in aluminum and copper untensils should not be taken as toxic metals entering the body are known to be deposited on the walls of the aorta and the arteries. Smoking, if habitual, should be given up because it constricts the arteries and aggravates the condition.

Recent investigations have shown that garlic and onions have a preventive effect on the development of arteriosclerosis. They should be included in the daily diet either raw or cooked.

One of the most effective home remedies for arteriosclerosis is the lemon peel. It strengthens the entire arterial system. Shredded lemon peel may be added to soups and stews, or sprinkled over salads. To make a medicine, the peel of one or two lemons may be cut up finely, covered with warm water and allowed to stand for about 12 hours. A teaspoonful may be taken every three hours, or immediately before or after a meal.

Parsley is another effective home remedy for this disease. It contains elements which help to maintain the blood vessels, particularly the capillaries and arterial system in a healthy condition. It may be taken as beverage by simmering it gently in the water for a few minutes and partaking several times daily.

The beet juice has also proved valuable in arteriosclerosis. It is an excellent solvent for inorganic calcium deposits. Juices of carrot and spinach are also beneficial. These juices can be taken individually or in combination. Formula proportions found helpful when used in combination are 300 ml carrot and 200 ml spinach to prepare 500 ml of juice.

Honey is also considered beneficial in the treatment of arteriosclerosis. It is easily digested and assimilated. The patient should take a glass of water with one teaspoon each of honey and lemon juice in it, before going to bed. He can also take it if he wakes up at night.

The patient should undertake plenty of outdoor exercise and eliminate all mental stress and worries. Prolonged neutral immersion baths at bed time on alternate days is beneficial.

Massage is another remedial procedure that occupies an important place in Naturopathy. Actually massage has had a very long history, dating back to ancient times. Massage has been used therapeutically for thousands of years in India, China, Greece, Rome, Egypt, etc.

Massage has a very salubrious effect on the organs and systems of the body as detailed below:

    (1) Skin: The beneficial effects of massage on the skin are unequalled. The pores of the skin are opened up, thus helping of the elimination of poisons from the body through perspiration.

    (2) Muscles: Massage reduces the tension in the muscles and relieves muscular pain. Strenuous exertion results in the accumulation of lactic acid in the muscles. Massage helps to rid the muscles of this acid and thus imparts a feeling of freshness and vigour.

    (3) Circulation of the blood: The circulation of the blood in the part being massaged is speeded up, so that the part is supplied with more nutrients, and its healing powers are augmented. The accelerated circulation reduces swelling. There is an increase in the capacity of the blood to carry oxygen and to utilize it effectively.

    (4) Nerves: Slow and gentle massage with light pressure relieves tension of the nerves and soothes them. Vigorous massage stimulates lax nerves and increases their efficiency.

    (5) The digestive system: Massaging the abdomen stimulates the digestive system, and promotes better elimination of wastes. The resistive powers of the body are strengthened due to the increase in the efficiency of the liver.

    (6) The urinary system: Massaging activates the urinary system. As a result the process of elimination of toxic substances from the body through the urine is accelerated by the formation of greater quantities of urine.

    (7) The heart: Systematic massage will reduce the burden on the heart, and thus increase its efficiency.

Normally dry palms are used for massage; but if the skin is too dry or if the body is excessively weak, wet cloth or soothing oil may be used. Among oils, sesame (til) oil is the best for this purpose. Some people use talcum powder for reducing friction while massaging, but this practice is not desirable, as the pores of the skin get clogged up.

Method: The process should begin with massage of the arms and legs. Next the chest, abdomen, back and buttocks should be massaged, in that order, finishing with the face and the head. Cloth should be used for massaging the back. As far as possible, we should massage ourselves with our own hands so as to combine the benefits of massages with those of exercise also to a certain extent. Those who are too weak to do so may take the help of others.

A massage should preferably be followed by a bath with lukewarm water.

If suffering from high blood pressure, the direction of massaging movements should be reversed, ie from head to foot.

Note: Massages are contra-indicated in the following conditions:

    (1) In fevers, no massage of any type is recommended.

    (2) Pregnant ladies should avoid massaging the abdomen.

    (3) Abdominal massages should be avoided in cases of diarrhoea, gastric or duodenal ulcers, appendicitis or tumours in the abdomen.

    (4) Massages are generally unadvisable in cases of skin diseases.

Sunlight is of prime importance for perfect health. Even school textbooks stress this basic fact. But the things we learn from textbooks are usually left behind in the schools. How useful and indeed essential, sunlight is in our life, finds no place in our thoughts. In consequence we invite diseases, generally by wilful neglect of this most healthful gift of nature bestowed freely upon us everywhere, and sometimes by failing to utilize it properly.

The sun showers three types of rays upon us:

    (1) Rays of visible (white) light: The white light of the sun is made up of light of seven different colors, as seen in the rainbow. Each color has its specific effect on the body.

    (2) Infra-red rays: These rays impart heat. The warmth of these rays is most welcome in the winter. Moreover, these rays relax and soothe the muscles, reduce swelling and relieve pain.

    (3) Ultra-violet rays: These rays are of special importance. Vitamin D is produced in the body by the action of ultra-violet rays falling on the skin. Sunlight is in fact the best source of Vitamin D. A deficiency of Vitamin D causes a disease of the bones known as 'rickets'. Dr. Hess of Columbia University has concluded on the basis of his studies that the incidence of rickets increases during the winter in New York city because of the insufficiency of solar irradiation.

Ultra-violet rays are essential for the healthy condition of the skin too. The prevalence of skin diseases is greater among the more sophisticated people who tend to keep their bodies covered from head to foot.

The tendency to disregard the importance of sunlight is on the increase. Ladies avoid going out in the sun for fear of darkening the skin, or if they do, they use sunshades.

Not only the skin, but the entire body derives benefits from sunlight. Exposure to sunlight improves health and augments the resistive powers of the body.

Sunlight helps nourish the muscles. All athletes regularly bask in the sun, as it helps develop the size and strength of the muscles, and increases the proportion of calcium in them, giving them greater endurance. If the skin is deprived of sunlight by keeping it covered, the muscles tend to weaken and degenerate.

Sunlight promotes the proper formation of teeth, speedy growth of hair, and quick and deep breathing. Blood pressure is brought down, and the kidneys become more efficient. By the action of sunlight, skin diseases are cured, blisters are burst and wounds are healed more speedily. Sunlight maintains and even increases the amount of alkali in the blood.

If a pregnant lady takes sun baths regularly, she gets relief from the usual discomforts of pregnancy such as fatigue, backache, nausea, over-stimulation (or overexcitement) etc., and lactation in the post-parturition period is also improved.

Pliny, the famous philosopher and physician of the fifteenth century, notes in his book that 'the reason why Rome has been able to develop into a powerful state is that the Romans regularly take sun-baths on their terraces.

As the survey of the renowned physician Dr. RT Trail revealed, even common disorders assume virulent forms among people who work in mines or who for other reasons are deprived of sunlight and have to spend most of their time in the dark. When sufficient sunlight is not available, the proportions of fibrin and red blood corpuscles in the blood decrease, and those of white blood corpuscles and water Increase.

    Recommendations regarding sun bathing:

    (1) Sun-baths should be preferably taken without any clothes on. But if that is not practicable, minimum possible clothes should be worn.

    (2) It is desirable that the head be covered and the eyes closed while taking a sun-bath. Do not cover the face, and never look directly at the sun.

    (3) The mild sunlight of the morning or the evening has no deleterious effect on the body. It is always beneficial. But it is advisable to avoid exposing the body to the intense sunlight of the midday.

    (4) You should begin by exposing the body to the sunlight for 5 to 10 minutes, the anterior parts of the body for half this period and the posterior parts for the other half. Later on, the period of exposure can be gradually increased, as convenient, to about an hour.

    (5) A feeling of giddiness, fatigue or discomfort experienced during a sun bath, or a burning sensation in the skin, is an indication of excessive exposure to sunlight.

    (6) After sun-bath, a cold-water bath should be taken, I or the body wiped with a piece of cloth wrung out in cold water.

    *********************** ARTICLE START ***********************

    1. Eat a diet rich in whole, unrefined, nutrient-dense foods. Fresh, natural, minimally processed foods are the richest in nutrients, including the trace compounds that are critical for optimal health.

    2. Eat a wide variety of foods. No one food has a perfect balance of nutrients, and eating a wide variety of foods provides you with a wide variety of nutrients. Most people get into dietary ruts, eating only a handful of foods. Broadening your food choices provides you with a greater abundance of the vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, essential fatty acids, and phytonutrients that support optimal health. In addition, eating a variety of foods decreases the possibility of creating food sensitivities that can arise when the same few foods are eaten day after day.

    3. Avoid foods grown, treated, or processed with chemicals. Virtually every one of us carry residues of pesticides and other chemicals stored in our body tissues. These poisons enter our food supply in a variety of ways: pesticides and other agricultural chemicals are applied to crops, animals raised for the meat and dairy industries are fed hormones and antibiotics, and a huge array of chemicals are added to foods during processing to flavor, sweeten, color, preserve, and texturize them. Even food packaging contains toxins that leach into the contents, such as lead or aluminum in cans and polyvinyl chloride in plastic food wrap. All chemicals add to the load of poisons that the liver is forced to detoxify and create freeradical damage that leads to cancer, heart disease, other degenerative diseases, and premature aging. Make every effort to buy organically grown and processed foods.

    4. Discover the diet that is best for you. Take the time to find a way of eating that makes you feel healthy and energetic. Pay attention to how you feel, don't be afraid to experiment, and remember that no one diet is the perfect diet for everyone. For example, although the high-complex carbohydrate, low-fat, and low-protein diet has been popularized as the ultimate healthful way of eating, many women find that a diet consisting primarily of carbohydrates-even healthful complex carbohydrates-increases insulin levels and causes fatigue, weight gain, dry skin, and hormonal imbalances. This is particularly true for women over 40. Many women find that eating more protein and fat (healthful fats, of course) makes all the difference in the way they feel. A diet that consists of about 30 percent protein, 30 percent fat, and 40 percent carbohydrates helps to keep blood sugar on an even keel and prostaglandin levels balanced.

Sugar is the primary culprit in the development of hypoglycemia and diabetes. While sugar does provide a temporary boost of energy, eating it too frequently puts tremendous stress on the organs and glands that regulate blood-sugar levels. If you don't have hypoglycemia or diabetes or if you rarely indulge in sugar, your pancreas can handle occasional sugary treats. But if you frequently eat sugar, your pancreas can become hypersensitive to sugar and overreact, flooding your body with insulin, which causes blood-sugar levels to plummet. This triggers your adrenal glands into action, and they notify your liver to release the glucose that it has stored as emergency fuel, which once again floods your bloodstream with sugar. If this happens too many times, your pancreas can finally give up and stop producing insulin or your cells may become resistant to insulin, and hypoglycemia can slip into diabetes.

Most American women eat about 80 pounds of sugar per year, as well as large amounts of refined carbohydrates such as white flour, which is easily converted into glucose in the body. Even if you don't add sugar to foods, you can still take in tremendous amounts if your diet contains a lot of prepared foods. Obviously, desserts and sweets are loaded with sugar, but other foods such as salad dressings, pasta sauces, and dry cereals also typically contain large amounts of sugar. Sugar is hidden in foods in many forms and is often used in more than one form in processed foods. To help restore healthy blood-sugar levels, avoid all forms of sugar, including sucrose, glucose, maltose, corn syrup, honey, maple syrup, barley malt, and molasses. Learn to enjoy the unprocessed sweetness of fresh fruits (in moderation) and sweet vegetables such as yams, carrots, and winter squash. Although giving up concentrated sweeteners may be difficult initially, you will find that your cravings for sugar will diminish within a few weeks.

Other foods that interfere with healthy blood-sugar levels include refined carbohydrates such as breads and pastas made from white flour and white rice, all of which are rapidly broken down into simple sugars in the body. Stimulants such as caffeine offer a temporary burst of energy, but stress the adrenal glands and further impair their ability to normalize blood-sugar levels. Alcohol also interferes with blood-sugar stability because it hinders the body's ability to use glucose and stimulates the release of insulin, which causes blood sugar take a nosedive.

To help maintain steady blood-sugar levels, eat a diet high in fiber, especially soluble fiber, which slows down the digestion and absorption of carbohydrates and prevents rapid increases in blood sugar levels. Soluble fiber keeps the pancreas from secreting too much insulin by enhancing cell sensitivity to insulin and improves the use of glucose by the liver, which prevents blood-sugar levels from remaining too high. Strive for at least 35 grams and preferably 50 grams of fiber each day. Legumes, whole grains, nuts, seeds, vegetables, and fruits are good sources of fiber, and especially good sources of soluble fiber include legumes, oat bran, most vegetables, apples, and pears. Eat carbohydrates in as close to their natural state as possible, because the fiber content helps to slow the absorption of natural sugars that carbohydrates contain-for example, eat an apple instead of drinking apple juice. Psyllium-seed husks, guar gum, and pectin are excellent sources of supplemental soluble fiber. To help balance blood-sugar levels, take one to three teaspoons of a fiber supplement stirred into a glass of water twice daily before meals.

Protein is essential for the proper functioning of the adrenal glands, pancreas, and liver and prevents cravings for high-carbohydrate foods. Because protein does not stimulate the release of insulin as do carbohydrates, it helps to stabilize blood-sugar levels. For maximum blood-sugar stability, eat three to four ounces of protein at lunch and at dinner. Moderate amounts of healthful fats are also essential for helping to maintain healthy blood-sugar levels and for providing a feeling of satiety, which helps to reduce cravings for carbohydrates. Raw nuts and seeds, avocados, olive oil, and flaxseed oil are all good sources of health-enhancing fats.

Eating frequent small meals is a helpful strategy for stabilizing blood-sugar levels. Avoid skipping meals, or going for more than two to three hours without eating. Get into the habit of eating meals at regular times, because your body functions best on a regular schedule. Plan for three meals a day, plus midmorning, midafternoon, and evening snacks. Include a small amount of protein or fat in your snack to help keep blood sugar stable-for example, have an apple with a few almonds, crackers with tofu spread, or carrot sticks with a few walnuts.

Supplements that are especially helpful for balancing blood sugar include chromium, a trace mineral that is essential for the proper functioning of insulin. Take 200 to 600 micrograms of chromium picolinate daily. To help strengthen the adrenal glands, take 2,000 milligrams of vitamin C daily in divided doses and a high potency multivitamin and mineral that provides 50 to 100 milligrams of the B-complex vitamins.

Air is of prime importance for life. One may live for a few days without food or perhaps even without water. But it is impossible to survive even for a minute or two without air.

Oxygen is essential for the process of combustion taking place in all the various cells of the body. We obtain this oxygen from the air. When we inhale, oxygen of the air dissolves in the blood flowing through the fine capillaries in the lungs, and is thus carried to every cell in the body.

Carbon dioxide and other toxic substances are formed in the cells as the end pr6ducts of combustion and other processes taking place in the cells. Carbon dioxide thus formed dissolves in the blood. When this impure blood carrying carbon dioxide reaches the lungs, carbon dioxide is released into the air present in tt1e lungs, and is exhaled with it.

Thus when we breathe in, oxygen of the air enters the lungs and dissolves in the blood. When we breathe out, carbon dioxide formed in the body is expelled. In short, the blood gets purified in the lungs. Even this elementary information is sufficient to make the importance of deep breathing obvious to everyone.

The main source of oxygen on the earth is vegetation such as trees, shrubs and other green plants. Plants take up carbon dioxide from the air for their nutrition and growth, and release oxygen into the air. The proportion of oxygen in the atmosphere is, therefore, somewhat greater in areas covered with greenery. Densely populated and industrial areas, on the other hand, are comparatively deficient In oxygen, and polluted in other ways. The thoughtless and wanton destruction of vegetation going on - today aggravates this deficiency and pollution.

All these facts make it obvious that a walk in open space~ covered with greenery, such as gardens and fields, is highly beneficial, especially when accompanied by deep breathing to ventilate the lungs. The cool breeze of early mornings, being fresh, pure and rich in oxygen, purifies the blood and the body, and fills the mind with cheer and joie de vivre. The salubrious effects of fresh air on the body, mind and health are universally recognized.

    Some suggestions:

    (1) Always breathe through the nose. The hair in the nose performs the function of a filter, removing the fine dust particles in the air. Moreover, the air gets warmed up in passing through the nasal passages, which has a salutary effect in the lungs.

    (2) Always take deep breaths. The breathing of most city people leading sedentary lives is shallow. The result is that carbon dioxide is not eliminated properly, and toxins consequently accumulate in the body.

    (3) Do not cover the face while sleeping.

    (4) In winter, protect yourself from the cold with warm coverings as necessary; but keep the windows open.

If You have any knowlegde of internaet marketing, There are many home business opportunitys out there. Even if you don't have any internet marketing experience there are many experts out there who you can learn from. The internet is full of books,CD's and software that is simple to use and learn from. Any one with the the right tools, knowledge and drive can make a good living with an online business. You just have to use trial and error and find what works for you.

In todays world and market, many people have websites and are in need of marketing. A website without a marketing plan is a website that will see no potential for profit. You need to have many visitors going to your website in order to show any kind of profit. It is very simple zero marketing will equal zero customers and with out customers a business will not succeed and will go out of business.

A very well executed internet marketing plan will bring customers to your website. That is every businesses goal. You can have a home business that does just that, marketing peoples home businesses and you can start with your very own home business. When companies see your advertisements, they will want to know how good you are. The short answer is that they were able to find you through an unsolicited means.

Before you get started you have to understand that old style marketing involved getting your name in front of people who were in need of your services. In this case, it is just about everyone with a website. The old saying of not caring what they say, as long as they get the name right, was focused on the shotgun approach to marketing. Also considered playing the odds. Sending information to everyone you could think of and hoping for return percentage large enough to justify the expense.

In todays market this approach rarely works with an internet business as the market is so large and there are thousands of companies to choose from that unindating them with information will turn them away in most cases. Instead you will want to use the targeted approach with will more likely get their attention and in return get you noticed. Many marketers are happy with one percent return on 10,000 ads, which is still only 100 expressing any intrerest and if you can close or get that 10 percent to buy it comes to 10 sales out of 10,000 contacts.

By focusing your effort on only the 1,000 businesses that actually use your service, a one percent return still equals 100 and a 10 percent sales rate still equals 10 sales, but you saved the money for 9,000, which would have otherwise been wasted.

Another form of marketing, guerilla marketing talked about in 1984 in the book Guerilla Marketing reveals how to achieve marketing on a limited budget. This type of marketing is ideal for small businesses. It focuses on the virtue of customer service and quality. What they do is the company uses personal contact and sales the person, not the product. It delivers a product or service on time that performs the function that it was promised to perform. And the word of mouth will take over from there.

You would not open a bakery store without advertising and just wait for it to grow. Well, an online business is no different it works the same way as any other business. Once you have built a website and placed it online one one knows its there except you and your host serevice. Without any advertising that is the way it will stay and you will not grow your business, instead you will be closing it down. You need proper marketing to grow your business.

It takes proper budgeting when it comes to running a business. Many people fail because of improper budgeting. You must realize that it takes money to advertise your business. Many people fail because they don't have the budget to advertise until they make a sale and you can't make a sale without advertising. So you are stuck in the middle. So many will give up and not even get their business a chance.

There are many ways to advertise your business for little money. One way is to have some T-shirts or hats made up. You should be able to find someone to make them up for as little as $5 or $10 each. Give them to everybody you know and have them wear them in public so your name will be out there for peolpe to see. You can also volunteer as an "expert" in your area of expertise. For instance, If your a tree trimmer and a heavy storm has hit your area, contact your newspaper and offer precautions for homeowners to take while awaiting for someone to do the cleanup work. Quoted with your name in your local newspaper is advertising that no amount of money can buy.

Most people just starting out with their home business will be tight with their money and they should be. Spending lots of money in a short period of time will gather many prospects quickly, but once the money is gone the people will dwindle too. Marketing your business on a limited or cheap budget can be alot of hard work and time consuming because you will have to do more of the work yourself.

Your local restaurants are a great place to advertise your business. Try talking with a small restaurant owner about working a deal with their placemats. Try gathering several small business owners in your neighborhood to put together an advertising placemat for your group. Depending on your budget you can make them plain or fancy as you like. But each business will have a spot on the placemat with their advertisment. Once you have them printed up give them to your local restaurants to use. Not to many restaurants will say no to free placemats.

If you can afford it, sponsor a local sport team and supply the uniforms, with your name on them of course, and reap the benefits of the advertising. This is a more expensive proposition, but perhaps your can work with the uniform supplier on a bartered deal to exchange some of the service costs for the uniforms.

There are many ways to advertise for very little money. Just keep your eye open for different ideas and you will find plenty of them.

Everyone who is looking for ways to earn extra money knows it is not going to fall into their lap. There are many honest methods of earning extra cash and if working outside the house part time is not an option for you, look to the internet for new methods.

Everyone has heard about the big money to be made through online auctions and some people actually earn a living simply selling merchandise at auction. Many more, however, can pick up a few extra dollars here and there, but if you want to make the big bucks, you will be doing this on a near full-time basis. Getting connected with a company that supplies the products for you to list on your auction site, and then handle the billing and shipping can create a lot of profit if you pick the right items to sell.

If you do not find the right merchandise and your listings do not sell, you will go broke paying listing fees for merchandise still sitting in the company's warehouse. Before you get started in a full time auction business, become fully educated on the type of merchandise in demand and remember it will change with the seasons and at the whim of the customers. What sells good today may languish in a warehouse tomorrow.

Affiliate marketing is about the easiest way to make extra money today. The only work required on your part is placing another company's ad on your site. When visitors to your site click on the add, it automatically tracks the referral and when they make a purchase you earn a commission. If you do not have a website, these ads can be placed on your web log, known as a blog, and if the ads relate to the subject of your blog, you can earn even more money.

Selling online can also bring in extra cash, but for this you will need a website or at least get connected to an existing website that will let you post your merchandise for sale. There are some craft or antique malls that rent booth and floor space in which you can display your products. The mall will handle all the marketing for the entire building without focusing on one tenant, ad in addition to the monthly space rental will also charge a percentage of the total sales.

Perhaps website can be constructed that will also showcase all the vendors of crafts or antiques and allow online sales. If you allow vendors to place their ads for a set amount, you can eliminate the need for collecting a percentage and just maintain the site for them. You and they both can receive additional income from this type of endeavor.

You would not open a brick and mortar store without advertising and hope to grow, and there is no reason to believe that starting an internet business without advertising will not suffer the same fate. When you build a website and place it online, you and your web host are the only ones who know about it. Without proper marketing, that is how it will stay until you finally get frustrated and shut it down.

The internet is not the Field of Dreams and if you build it, they will not always come. If they do it may be accident if you have not let anyone else know your site exists. Many people fail to properly budget for advertising and once their site is up, they are caught in the middle. They have no money to advertise unless they make some sales, and they cannot make any sales unless they advertise. Most take that as a good reason to give up.

Having T-shirts imprinted with your business name can be done fairly cheap and some places will do them on your shirts for as little as $5 or $10 each. Provided you stick to the basics. Wearing them to public events gets your name out cheaply. Volunteer as an "expert" in your area of expertise. For example, if you are a carpenter and a heavy storm has caused a lot of damage in your hometown, contact your newspaper and offer precautions homeowners should take while looking to get repairs completed. Quoted with you name in your local newspaper is advertising that no amount of money can buy.

Most home businesses just starting out are usually stingy with their money, and they should be. Throwing money out the window will gather a lot of people in the short term, but once all the cash is gone the crowd will also disappear. Marketing your business on the cheap can be an exhausting exercise but with less money to spend, you will have to do more of the work.

Try talking to your local small restaurant about working a deal with their placemats. Better yet, gather a dozen or so other small businesses in your neighborhood about putting together an advertising placemat for your group. They can be as plain or as fancy as you can afford, but each business can have its own ad on the placemat and once printed, give them to your community restaurants to use. There are few small restaurants that will say no to free placemats.

If you can afford it, sponsor a local sport team and supply the uniforms, with your name on them of course, and reap the benefits of the advertising. This is a more expensive proposition, but perhaps your can work with the uniform supplier on a bartered deal to exchange some of the service costs for the uniforms.

Raising children can be a job in itself, and money is usually tight for those with young children if they stay at home to take care of them. Fortunately, there are companies offering computer work at home for moms that can help.

When the child takes a nap, or goes to sleep early in the evening, the time away from the full-time job of being a mom can be utilized making money by doing some computer work. In fact, there are websites sharing ideas for mothers who want to work from home, with many ideas on how to accomplish this goal and still have the time to take care of the children in the style that you want.

Far away from the old scams of envelope stuffing or assembly work, computer work at home for moms may include things such as data entry or part-time billing work for a variety of companies. Many positions require little training beyond that of computer programs you may already be familiar with and if specialized training is needed, these sites offer the chance to get that training at little or no cost.

Some special training, however such as medical or legal transcription training, will not be available free as these programs are fairly intense and in some states a certificate may be required in order for you to perform this work. Before signing up to do this type of work, check with your state to see if there are any licensing requirements.

Depending on skills, computer work at home for moms may include freelance writing or writing for greeting card companies. If you know anything about advertising, copy writing is always needed and many companies look for freelancers to fill in during tight spots. Additionally, if your freelance work is good and respected by the company you are working with, when the children are grown and you are looking to get back in the workforce, these companies may offer you the opportunity since they are familiar with your work.

Data entry always seems to be the easiest computer work at home for moms to do as well as being advertised the most. But remember, companies who may need someone to enter names and addresses into a computer, may be reluctant to pack them off to a stranger when there are plenty of people in the same town willing to do the work. If you are looking to do this, get your name out in the public. Make local companies aware of your availability through your personal networks.

It is probably better to look for work under the notion that you are looking to keep busy, and make a little money while the children are young, rather than advertising yourself as looking for computer work at home for moms. Companies will want their work done right and on time and may not care about who does the work.

If your looking for a way to earn money by working at home. I have found a simple turnkey program that has done all the major step alrady for you. It will have you ready to start building your business in 24 hours. The set up is Free.

Organic products are now a $7 billion market that has been growing at a rate of 20% a year and will continue to grow in years to come. While retailers who sell organic products are one of the few businesses exempt from following the requirement for certification of organic products, Whole Foods Market was the first to become a certified grocery store in the nation. There are several other industries that are coming out with new organic products, including clothing, and baby products that are among the top choices for consumers. Natural Organic Products both protect and help the environment, plus it is great for your overall health. Often, organic products are priced higher at health-food and department stores, but drugstores and discount retailers offer brands that are less expensive.

    Organic Foods

When you go to your local grocery store be sure to check out the organic labels throughout the store because when you purchase organic products it helps support those farmers, producers, and handlers who have a strong commitment to good health, quality foods, and earth-friendly agricultural practices. About 14 percent of people indicated they bought organic items at their local Wal-Mart or Target super center, reinforcing the fact that organic foods play a role in everyday American households, and they are choosing to support their community and eat healthier for their family. Due to the limited supply of organic foods from both foreign land and domestic sources, they say that organic foods account for only about a third of the stores inventory, which shows there is room for growth in the coming years.

    Health Lifestyle

Major products include tea, guavas, oranges, pineapples, rice, taro root, sweet potatoes and specialty crops like yams are believed to offer better health and more benefits to a healthy family. Consumers are increasingly choosing to purchase organic foods and products that offer alternatives to potentially harmful chemical and pesticides that genetically modify foods and may be undesirable from both a health and environmental standpoint. At one point these products were forgotten and ignored in the innermost corners of store shelves and health food stores, but now they are in the spotlight and taking center stage because of the newly found benefits of going organic and living a healthy lifestyle.

    Skin Products

Organic skincare has long been established as an expensive yet healthy alternative to the ordinary and potentially dangerous skincare products that we have been exposed to. Nowadays, organic skincare products are coming out with more competitive prices and better environmental friendly ways of producing products, which makes them more affordable. If you have had any skin reactions to lotions or face creams in the past then you have to be careful, because everything you put on your skin gets absorbed into your body, which can cause an allergic reaction. When you get an allergic reaction your body is telling you that the chemicals you're putting on are harmful to you. Make sure to pay attention and try an organic product to see the difference because your body knows what's best.

With the buying power of chains like Kroger and Wal-Mart, which are increasing their organic-products selection daily, prices for organic products are likely to become more affordable. But even in many conventional supermarkets, organic products are moving out of their isolate aisles and taking their place on many shelves next to non-organics products. From my experience in the industry, it is almost always the case that the people who make organic products are those who value their work and love what they do.

    *********************** ARTICLE START ***********************

If you're interested in learning how to prevent a migraine headache, it helps to first know what causes migraines. By understanding the root cause, you can better understand the potential cures.

A migraine is caused by the enlargement of the temporal artery, which is the artery that lies on the outside of the skull and under the skin of your forehead. When this artery enlarges, it stretches nerves around it and they in turn release certain chemicals. These chemicals are the cause of the pain that is called a migraine, and they also cause the artery to enlarge even more – more pain, more enlargement. Migraines are just a never-ending circle of agony. When considering how to prevent a migraine headache, it's important to understand the circle, so that you at least don't do anything to make it worse.

    What Causes Migraines

Obviously the cause of migraines is going to be different for everyone. However, to consider how to prevent a migraine headache, it helps to remember that stress hormones that cause migraines can be released by such things as fasting, bright lights, caffeine, and artificial substances such as MSG or aspartame. There may be other sensitivities that you yourself have.

One of the steps involved in how to prevent a migraine headache is to keep track of the specific trigger for you. If you suffer from frequent migraines, you should keep a food diary to see if there are certain triggers for you. Since bright lights also trigger this particular nerve in some people, think of how this might be applicable to you. For example, do you work in a place where the lights change frequently, such as a movie theater or some type of lab where you go from a dark room to a bright room?

How to Prevent a Migraine Headache Naturally

There is good reason why migraines do not normally respond to regular headache medications. This type of pain caused by migraines activates what is known as the sympathetic nervous system, that "fight or flight" response that is common during stress. This reaction pulls blood and oxygen from the digestive system in order to divert it to the muscles of your legs. This keeps oral medications from being absorbed in the intestinal systems.

So when considering how to prevent a migraine headache, you see how regular aspirins and other oral medications are probably going to do little to help. They are simply not absorbed the way they should be.

Some ways to treat migraines naturally include acupuncture, which seems to calm that temporal artery and the sympathetic nerve system after it.

When considering how to prevent a migraine headache naturally, try oils such as lavender or peppermint. These can be put in a vaporizer or washcloth. Calcium and magnesium relieve muscle tension, so consider taking a supplement with these elements.

Don't forget the more obvious remedies of giving yourself a mini massage and staying in a darkened room. Watch your diet and get rid of artificial sweeteners and substances. And if all else fails, see your doctor – he or she can accurately diagnose your condition and give you additional pointers on how to prevent a migraine headache permanently.

Article Title: Eight Questions Your Company Must Ask About Its Sales Process

    *********************** ARTICLE START ***********************

This article discusses eight questions that most companies need to answer in order to develop a reliable, scalable and repeatable sales process.

    1. Is your process Customer-Centric (as opposed to company-centric)?

    2. Do you have a process that is scalable, optimized and efficient?

    3. Do you have and use clear metrics and tools to see what is working, and what is not?

    4. Do you have and do you demonstrate a precise understanding of what actions you can take to grow sales?

    5. Have you identified bottlenecks, and do you know show you how to resolve them?

    6. What are you doing to decrease the cost of customer acquisition?

    7. Is Marketing is correctly aligned with Sales, and directly helping to close business?

    8. Are you using the latest web marketing techniques to increase, measure and manage lead generation and flow?

Did You Start with an intense study of the Customer?

Most companies already have a sales process, and can diagram the different steps. Yet, most of the times when I ask people to say what is not working as well as you wanted, the problems occur because you have not found a good way to motivate their customer to move forward through a particular step. This usually takes place because you have designed their sales process from their point of view, and not created a customer-centric process. Often, they have figured out their buying process. This is crucial to make sure you have appropriate steps in the sales process to address the issues and questions they need answered before they will buy from you.

Recently, I spoke with the CEO and founder of a small software company on Long Island. He was looking for someone to sell a new software package. He had not an intense customer study, nor did he even know if there was a market or demand for his product. Yet, he wanted to know how I would sell it for him.

Here are some other critical actions many companies I speak with fail to take:

Define the organizational resources responsible for each step

It might seem obvious::for each action in the sales process, make sure that there is a clear organizational resource that is focused on that step, and ensure they are measured and incented based on the number of leads they process, and their conversion rates. Many companies I speak with and have worked with do not do this. They then begin to complain that there are no qualified leads, no sales, and no revenue.

Define the underlying technology and software

A sales process must be scalable. So, at some point a company will need to automate the way that information flows from one step to the other. This requires software or software provided as a service (SaaS).

    Understand customer's buying processes

This step represents one of the most important and powerful aspects a scalable and repeatable sales process. Many companies I have spoken with and worked with do not begin by looking carefully at their customer's buying process, They will need to get inside your customers' minds, and learn to think the way they do.

    Examine Linkages between Actions

It is important to make sure that there are clearly defined linkages between every action in the sales process and the following steps. One of the most common problems I see is marketing activities that have no clear call-to-action; or no clear step to process the leads after the action is completed.

Often, such companies will complain to me that I am not generating enough leads and sales. Whereas, because there is no clear call to action or process, there is no proven method to generate, increase and manage leads and to develop sales ready prospects.

Getting through the day is often a big challenge for internet marketers. One can easily squander a lot of time answering e-mails, fulfilling orders, and updating your customer lists. This won't make more people buy or bring in new traffic. How can you manage to get all the necessary grunt work done and still improve your product or service, increase traffic, or campaign a new idea?. Automation is the key to running your business and growing it at the same time.

There are five benefits to automating your online home business:

    * Get sales on your products and/or services 24 hours per day 7 days per week that will bring in more profit.

    * Have excellent credibility with your customers by having instant responses to his or her inquires for more information.

    * Increase sales potential by answering questions quickly.

    * Provide instant order confirmation that will keep customers coming back and telling others about you.

    * Increase your sales by up-selling back end products automatically.

In automating your online home business, make sure to choose the appropriate tools. Here are six essential tools:

    * A reliable and easy to use autoresponder. Your autoresponder acts much like a personal secretary operating 24/7. This helps you maintain consistent follow up with your prospects.

    * An mlm lead capture page helps in automating your online home business. A good lead capture page has some attractive bullets on it, and does a thorough job of explaining what the reader will be able to access after she enters her data.

    * A duplicable system for generating leads on an ongoing basis. Leads are the lifeblood of your online home business. Your lead generation system should be uncomplicated, easy to teach and allow you to not only generate leads, but to also automate the qualification process.

    * Ad tracking software. A good ad tracking software program or service will show you how many clicks you get for your advertisements from which sites and sources. This will help in automating your online home business by giving you instant information about how your advertisements and advertising campaigns are doing.

    * A reliable and professional voice mail service. I sometimes come across unprofessional voice mail greetings when calling prospects. You want to always get all of your messages. An unprofessional sounding greeting may cause some people to hang up without leaving you a message.

    * A success-activity schedule will also help you in automating your online home business. I teach my business partners to follow a schedule that involves repeating certain activities over and over. A schedule helps you stay consistent, see what you may have missed and to plan for the maximum leverage of your time.

Automating your online home business is essential for achieving maximum leverage, focusing on the core money making activities and keeping on track. Learn how to use the right tools and systems correctly and you will be well on your way toward building a successful home based business.

Article Title: 5 Ways To Test Your Mlm Landing Pages

    *********************** ARTICLE START ***********************

The first and most important thing about any mlm landing page you create to build your list with is testing. Even testing two different headlines can make all the difference in the world.

It is best to use a mlm landing page on a site that is designed to sell one product. For example, if you have a site that features a sales letter selling a particular product or service, placing a mlm landing page in front of the information about that product or service is an effective strategy.

This keeps readers from being distracted; it sifts and sorts prospects by level of seriousness; and it gives you a list of interested prospects that you can go back and market to repeatedly.

Don't put a mlm landing page in front of your portal site, your branding site, or your blog. Putting a mlm landing page in front of those kinds of sites does not work well. Those sites have a very different purpose than sites that are intended to sell one targeted product or promotion.

Start split-testing your mlm landing pages. You can do that easily with something like Marketing Makeover Generator, or if you have 1ShoppingCart or AWeber, you can use their split-testing tools. You can also use something like Ad Trackz. It is inexpensive and it works well. It is fairly easy to learn how to use if you are willing to study and practice this.

When we know who our prospects are and what makes them buy, we can start to answer the big question: why should they buy from you? Lead with benefits, not features. Don't skimp on the persuasive content of your copy. Go as far as necessary without being hypish or misleading. Using a system that maps the customer's buying process to your selling process is a good idea..

Know What action you want visitors to take. do you want them to subscribe to a list? To purchase a product? Make it clear and prominent on the page. Let the visitors know by taking that action, they'll understand what happens next.

Test everything on your landing page, but that would be a waste of time. Focus on the most important items, such as:

    * Bonus gifts

    * Coupons

    * PS messages

    * Guarantees

    * Opening sentence images

    * Closing sentence images

    * Calls to action

    * Headings

But remember, test only one element of a page at a time. If you test all of them at the same time, you won't know what worked and what didn't. Adjust your headline and test the one you have now with the new one. Test the wording on your opt-in button, test putting a picture on the page with leaving the picture off the page. (If you're going to use a picture, make sure it's crisp and very tight-looking.) Test everything, but only test one thing at a time. Keep tracking and testing and you will have mlm landing pages to that attract hundreds of subscribers and customers.

    *********************** ARTICLE START ***********************

An mlm lead capture page is a web page that, when the visitor "lands" on it, she is asked to opt-in to some type of list in order to proceed further. On some mlm lead capture pages, your only options are to opt-in or leave.

Internet marketers make list building their top priority. When you effectivelycollect the email address, along with permission to follow-up,then you will get other opportunities to make the sale later.

An mlm lead capture page, generally, has some attractive bullets on it, and does a thorough job of explaining what the reader will be able to access after she enters her data. The enticing offer on the mlm lead capture page, should have the visitor salivating to get at what's behind that "door," is essential.

The mlm lead capture page can be hosted anywhere but it needs to have at least one thing on it to be effective... a way to capture a person's email address.

If you set up an incentive-laden mlm lead capture web page (by incentive I mean a contest or freebie for providing their email address) that has a short tag line about your product or service combined with a 2 line form consisting of name and email address you have a simple yet incredibly powerful marketing tool.

Your only real job becomes promoting your mlm lead capture pages. One critical toll is an autoresponder system that once set up requires little or no maintenance on your part.

Now when a person sees your incentive laden lead capture page on a they can quickly scan your opportunity and provide a minimum of information (nobody likes filling in forms, especially when they only have 15 seconds to decide on your offer).

Freebies work well, free downloads, contests, giveaways. People like free stuff and this gives you a nice way to build up credibility with your customer.

To take this a step further you can track your campaigns by replacing the URL for your product with an Ad tracking URL.

Make sure you set up a different ad tracking URL for each lead capture page or email message and you can truly see how well each of your campaigns are performing in real time.

Once you gather the guests' data you have the ability to create an online business relationship with them.

Once a visitor enters the form on your mlm lead capture page it should be made clear that you will be including them in an email record where they may get priceless data and resources. Email lists work effectively when used accurately because they provide the reader the repetition of viewing your business name, which can produce a great brand name for you. You may easily do this by providing your list users with good resources, helpful data, and even concessions and sales just for them making for effective mlm lead capture pages.

    What if you...?

What if you had hundreds or thousands of double opt-in subscribers reading valuable contant from you every week? Leading internet marketers and affiliate program marketers say this is essential for builiding and optimizing a profitable list.

There are really only three reasons for using a system to find and attract prospects. They are:

    1. To build and maintain a list of qualified and educated prospects

    2. To generate affiliate program revenue which you will reinvest in advertising your system and business

    3. To enroll and/or develop repeat customers and business builders.

One popular and effective way to do this is to offer a complimentary tool or e-book to subscribers. One caveat, though: you must provide valuable and useful content in a newsletter and website to maintain and build your list.

An efficient way to provide a free report is to offer a downloadable document in Adobe pdf format.

No matter what format you use to create your downloadable brochures, make sure you convert them into PDF. The reason? Adobe makes their Reader available to everyone at no charge. So no matter whether your potential customer is using Microsoft or Apple, or running a Corel Office suite, or Microsoft Office, he or she will be able to download and read your brochure. As a bonus, the PDF will be locked; no one can edit the text of the brochure and create an image problem for you down the road.

There are a surprising number on websites on the internet that are there to help you set up and market your new business. They are aimed specifically at beginners who may have good business skills but be unfamiliar with how to make a website that will catch the eye of potential customers. Surprisingly most of these sites are not looking for money

Sometimes the easiest thing to do is to join an already established business and work for them marketing their product online. This can be a good step for beginners who may not be ready to try it completely on their own. The problem is that often these businesses take years before you actually turn a profit. So, if this is the path you want to take, make sure you investigate it thoroughly before signing up.

One of the best marketing tools to enhance your website is the ability of a prospective customer to contact you online, without having to create an email. Consider adding a page to your site that allows consumers to enter their data and generate a short query to you. Make sure you respond to each query as soon as possible, but certainly no later than twenty-four hours after the query is sent.

One thing beginners need to learn is how to keep to a budget when setting up their internet business. Marketing your product or service can be costly and if you are not careful in the first few months you can get carried away and spend way too much. Set yourself a limit on what you want to spend and keep to it.

    Do you know why...?

Even though your website promotes a product/service, your website is a product unto itself, and you have to promote it. A multimedia approach is most effective. Make sure your URL appears in all ads you do for your product/service, as well as on your letterhead and business cards. Teach classes or give lectures on your topic of expertise and hand out class material that has your website and contact information included. Whenever you send email to an affiliate, partner or customer, include your website address in your email signature line.

Search engines consider where you place your keywords, and how many times you use them, in order to figure out your ranking and the relevancy of your site to a customer search request. You want to be ranked as high as possible on the search engine list, so place keywords in the page titles and meta tags and early in the content of your page.

Think of your website as a series of websites, not just a home page. Then you realize that each page of your website must be search engine optimized. You can help accomplish this by using keywords in page titles. The title of each page, the keywords you use on that page and the phrases you use in the content will draw traffic to your site using different search engine terms and techniques, so be sure you capture all the keywords and phrases you need for each product, service or information page.

Because the web is an ever changing landscape, you have to keep track of your own web results, what is happening with the competition and the best and highest search engine ranked sites. Find and use tools that will help you cut through the muck and mire and get to the heart of what is happening, develop your website plan, test your own website links, develop and review online ads, find affiliates and partners and more.

Make sure you are using the right keywords to get potential customers to your website. Do some researches on sites like http://inventory.overture.com/d/searchinventory/suggestion/. Type in the keyword(s) and keyword phrases you think are going to work on your site, and see if these are actually the ones that most customers use. Include commonly misspelled words in your keyword list so you Don't lose a customer just because they Don't know how to spell.

You can also test keywords at wordtracker at http://www.wordtracker.com. Wordtacker will allow you to find and research dozens of combinations of keywords.

Using the correct keywords to attract your target audience based on what they search for will cause search engines to spider your articles more often, raising their rank in organic searches.

Begin testing this idea right away...

Alot of people ponder whether a home based business is right for them or not. One reason many people never get started is that they do not believe they can run a home based business and a home and family at the same time. Running a successful home based business means that you should be able to be at home to take care of the things that you normally wouldn't be able to take care of, while also earning money from your business. There are several potential pitfalls you should be aware of in order to run a successful home based business and home. There are several things that you can do to make this process much easier, and if you do it right, you should easily be able to run your home business as well as your home, with very little hassle.

    Keep It Real

The first thing that you will need to do is to make time for your home business and to make time for your home as well. When you work from home it is very easy to simply work for days at a time. Since your business is at home it can be open 24 hours a day, especially if you are online. You might be tempted to take on other projects or orders or to do more so that you can make even more money. However, if you don't set limits for yourself, you'll find that you aren't able to run your home as well, at the same time.

In order to avoid this problem, the first thing that you need to do is set realistic business hours. Look at the hours you want to work. Just like a regular office your home business should have office hours and hours when you are not available. It is simply too easy to work all of the time, even if you need the money. But keeping hours and making sure that you keep them regularly is a good way to make sure that you will also have time to run your home, as well as your home business.

    Own Office

The other thing that you have to remember is that you are going to want to be sure that you have your own office space for your home business that is different than your actual home. Even if you devote a corner of your kitchen or living room to your home business, there should be an area that is only fit for your business, which will make it much easier for you to keep the two things separated. If you can keep your home and your home business apart, you'll have a much better chance of doing them both well.

If you are reading this post, perhaps you are in a situation similar to mine five and half years ago.

At that time, I worked as a technical recruiter for a company that paid me $28,000 per year. I had three major responsibilities and often felt overworked, overwhelmed and unsupported. I thought the way to solve these challenges was to work harder, network more and to find a better job.

I was wrong. One week after I helped some interns I had hired, I was let go.

A few weeks later, I received an email inviting me to join a traditional MLM company. I listened to a few testimonials, looked at the website and then joined without doing any research or due diligence.

Although I did not accomplish my goals with that company, I have since gone on to build another business with a non-MLM company. I have accumulated knowledge about the MLM and home business industries.

Here are some tips for investigating home based business opportunities:

    1. Do your homework. Get the facts by researching objective information.

    2. Look for news about the company. Bad news travels fast, be careful if you find any news about complaints, investigations or questionable claims about products.

    3. Ask someone you trust and respect to also evaluate the information you are looking at. Do not ask them to join with you, just to help you with your decision.

    4. Make a thorough list of the apparent strengths and weaknesses of the company. Get the facts from those people who have approached you.

Here are some websites where you can get some information:

So you have been wanting to move interested in affiliate selling, and would like to know the regulations. You have your website and or blog all prepared up and geared up to go. You have selected your niche and market that you desire to advertise and make money off of. You only require links to commence making money. Promoting other's services and products is not something that is hard to do. On the other hand, you will discover that with all of the many companies that present affiliate programs, and referral options, they all have their own regulations that you have to follow.

Affiliate selling is pretty simple to stick to, that is unless you have many dissimilar programs that you are a part of. When you begin receiving so many that you cannot remember the regulations, or the guidelines that you have to keep to, you might have a predicament. This is since the regulations for affiliate programs are as diverse as the companies. Each business is allowed to make their own regulations. Then again, you might see many similarities. That does not signify that they are copying one another, or cloning their affiliate plan so to speak, but yet it means that they have the same rules.

Affiliate selling regulations can be so incredibly diverse. They can vary from not mentioning the brand names that they sell anyplace on your website, to not have that specific market in your website URL. As they are so distinctive for each plan and business that you put forward, you are going to have to be certain that you read each one properly and make positive that you comprehend it wholly. If you all set have your URL for your website, you may not be able to partake in some of the affiliate programs. This is for the reason that you will not meet the requirements for the rules.

Another regulation that you are going to see frequently when you are interested in affiliate promotion is the page rank ruling. Some of the companies that will permit you to advertise their services or products will not desire you to have a superior page rank than they do. Nor will they consent to you to have a website that is elevated in the search engine rankings. For instance, if you were promoting coffee, and you wanted to become an affiliate for Folgers coffee. Your website would not be able to come up on top of the official Folgers coffee website in the search engine results when coffee, or Folgers coffee is used as the search phrase. The companies that have this ruling in place for their affiliate promotion programs believe as if your website were top than theirs for the product that they are advertising, that it would harm their business enormously. And, it only might. They would rather have the direct sales any day, than the commissioned sales. Who wouldn't?

Keeping a worksheet of the affiliate selling programs that you are a part of and their policy is a good idea. This way you are never perplexed and know only wherever you require to stand to be a part of that plan. This is the greatest thing that you can do for your affiliate promotion business. Not only that, you will also uncover that some of the sites that have busted regulations and have been caught have resulted in law suits. Cover your tracks and make for sure that you are following the regulations that are prepared by that business for the most excellent results.

You will also come across that there is a thing that is called affiliate selling software. If you can discover a plan that fits your requirements and will help you keep the whole thing direct, you may not have to fret about keeping track of them manually. Use your software to keep track and make certain that you are doing your affiliate selling the correct way. Your efforts will pay off eventually, and you will be happy that you went by the book and followed the necessary affiliate selling rules.

There are many choices available to you when choosing a baby crib. There are several types of baby cribs to pick from. Your particular décor preferences, budget and needs will help determine the type of baby crib that is best for you.

    Standard

Standard baby cribs are those that you see most often. These are the typical baby crib. There are two types of standard cribs - the single drop side and the double drop side. The single drop side has one side that can be adjusted or dropped down to provide ease of getting to the child. In double drop side cribs both sides can be dropped down.

This may be helpful in a room where the crib is free-standing. In many cases the crib is placed with one side against the wall and therefore you may only need one side to be able to be dropped down.

    Convertible

Convertible cribs start out as a baby crib and can later be converted into a toddler bed, daybed or full size bed. The convertible bed can be more expensive but it is often able to be used as the child grows. The head and foot ends may be used as a headboard and footboard with the addition of a simple kit which can be purchased where you bought your crib.

The convertible crib is a wonderful way to save the additional expense of purchasing larger sized furniture when needed. A disadvantage is that you may want to change the décor as the child gets older. To avoid that problem choose a wooden or metal crib that can go with many types of décor styles in the future.

    Canopy

Canopy cribs have four posts at the corners to hold a canopy frame. You can then place canopy fabric onto the frame to form a canopy. Canopy cribs provide an elegant setting for the baby. They are also functional as you can provide a somewhat secure environment to protect the baby using the canopy as a partial enclosure. You can purchase pre-made canopy tops in specific designs or can make your own using the fabric of your choice.

Diligence should be used when providing a canopy crib for your infant. Excess fabric can be pulled by the child and may become a safety hazard. To ensure the safety of your baby always make sure that the canopy material and hardware are kept out of reach of the baby.

    Round

Round cribs are a popular new option. Round cribs are comfortable for the baby because they can sleep in any position. They are also easily accessed by the parents. The round crib typically has a drop side. These can be very cute infant cribs. One drawback is finding affordable bedding to fit on the round mattress. This bedding is also not available in many patterns or colors. An option would be to sew your own bedding to make it more affordable.

There are other types of cribs but these are the most popular.

Those who are handy may be able to make a crib using crib woodworking plans. Custom built cribs are not only beautiful they are filled with special meaning as well. There are many crib woodworking plans available to you. Here are some tips for choosing and using crib woodworking plans wisely.

    · Check woodworking sites. Some offer plans for free while others charge for them. Some offer plans immediately for download or you may choose to have the plans sent to you through the mail. Typical baby crib plans for woodworkers sell for about $15 and up.

    · When choosing a crib building plan think about its complexity and your woodworking skills. While you may be able to take on a challenge you don't want to get stuck in the middle with an unfinished crib. Consider the skill level needed for the type of crib you want to build and pick a crib in your skill level. If choosing a plan through a Web site look for comments from others who have already made the crib.

    · Make sure that the baby crib woodworking plans meet all the federal safety guidelines. Check the most current standards before choosing a plan. Remember that some plans may be older or out of date and some originate in another country where safety standards aren't followed.

    · When choosing a crib woodworking plan make sure that the plan contains detailed instructions and not just basic instructions. The more detailed the plan the better the results will be, especially for those with less woodworking skills.

    · Look for crib woodworking plans that include color photos which make the process easier to follow. Also, plans that have detailed drawings and exploded views are the easiest to follow so review what is included in the plan before purchasing it.

    · Allow plenty of time to build the baby crib. Most people who take this project on are not professional woodworkers and are building the crib in their spare time. Unlike other projects that don't have a due date, the crib does need to be used by a specific date. Don't cut it too close or you'll be stressed at the end and may produce a less than excellent result. A rule of thumb is to try to have the crib fully completed one month before it is needed.

    · Seek help if and when you need it. There are many ways to get some assistance on your crib project. Don't be afraid to use any resources that are available to you. Many woodworking web sites have forums where you can ask others questions. This is an excellent way to get support. You may also be able to get support from the maker of the crib plans. Some offer a phone number or web site specifically to help those with questions along the way.

    · Always test the finished product before starting to use it with the baby. Make sure that the rails work smoothly. Ensure that there are no sharp or rough edges and that all the hardware is properly attached. If staining or painting the crib allow adequate time for the piece to dry and air out properly.
