Many people believe they can get by without help from a DUI lawyer in Daytona Beach if they have never been arrested before. The fact of the matter is the Sunshine State has little tolerance for people who consume too much alcohol and get behind the wheel.

There is an ongoing debate in academia about the effectiveness of online degrees versus training courses. These discussions encompass the different concepts of education and training and if these concepts can be as effectively implemented online as in the classroom. Education is defined as the mental process of understanding concepts and principles and why things work; training is viewed as the process to develop skills that allow a person to do something. For example, an individual can be educated as an aeronautical engineer but not be skilled as a pilot without the associated pilot training. Counter terrorism training courses should offer the student the opportunity to have an interactive experience that combines education with hands-on training. Terrorist groups actively provide education and training; one of most effective platforms for terrorists to do training is the Internet. In addition, the internet allows terrorists to reach supporters, motivate potential recruits, and perpetuate their messages that justify their violent causes. The Internet allows for the sharing of information, for networking, and the purchase of weapons, cash cards, and other tools that allow terrorists to carry out their violent agendas. The Internet also allows them to select and research targets for future attacks. A medium that is so heavily utilized by terrorists makes the argument that earning a counter terrorism degree online places the student on the same level as a modern terrorist by utilizing this valuable communications and information tool.
The various rebel forces who brought about the Arab Spring also used the Internet extensively to communicate to the outside world what was occurring within their countries as well as internally to coordinate their attack efforts; Egypt, Syria and Libya are prime examples showing how Internet technology was used. The involvement of the incumbent governments using the Internet was demonstrated in their ability to shut the Internet down; this was done in order to thwart the rebel communication efforts; the incumbents also used the Internet to spread misinformation to both internal and external users. This is remarkable because this government control over the Internet now has transitioned to the new "reform" governments.
As the US Intelligence Community evaluates the potential friendliness of these "reform" governments to US interests, there is a major concern that the new governments are facing problems with terror groups such as al Qaeda and the Muslim Brotherhood. It is critical to the US to track what information is placed on the Internet in these countries by terrorists; such information also becomes essential background for the intelligence services and to formulate up-to-date programs for a counter terrorism degree online and counter terrorism training courses.
Understanding how terrorists use the Internet supports the US government and private entities' efforts to provide "learning" in the counter terrorism discipline; this knowledge gives counterterrorism forces an edge to leverage strategic factors against the threat realities in an adaptive counterterrorism curriculum. Students pursuing a counter terrorism degree online can learn and work in a virtual 100% computer-based environment similar to how terrorists learn and work. Students who take counter terrorism training courses online will find the playbook of techniques the same as the counterterrorism tools utilized by resident students; however the advantage for those earning their degree online resides in the ability to more freely time-mange the learning process. Thus contemporary "learning" in a counter terrorism discipline means instructors must bring a blend of experience operating in the field and strong grounding in the broad enduring principles of counter terrorism in the new online learning environment. This places a new standard on educational institutions for faculty staffing to provide security and counterterrorism instruction.

The internet is one of the most powerful places to get involved in money making today. You can easily start a business from the comfort of your own home, and do work from the comfort of your laptop. With such a vast choice of marketing methods, topics and systems to promote yourself – where do you even begin?
The best place to start is finding the right partner to work with. This does not mean meeting somebody in a five-star hotel and thrashing out expensive contracts. This means finding a good way to promote something to bring you money. For examples, read on.
• One of the most powerful ways to do that is affiliate marketing. Affiliate marketing is when you promote somebody else's product or course, and in return you receive a commission for any sale that you cause to happen. This is tracked by signing up to the affiliate program and then using the special link given to you, to promote the product.
• You could write a blog post about the product, and promote the item through linking the name of the product to your affiliate link. You then promote that blog and make some money on the commissions – easy. But what type of affiliate program do you go for? A popular one today is in the financial arena, a binary options trading affiliate program.
Future Trading
Although fairly new, it's important to note that binary trading affiliate programs are showing, generally, fantastic levels of success to those who are willing to try.
What is a binary option?
Binary options provide you with the following:
• Binary options give you the chance to be extremely flexible in the future, as you can trade in a variety of different options.
• Binary Options are one of the best affiliate programs because they pay you by PayPal, meaning easy access to your hard-earned commissions. Using subscription based membership strategy starting at incremental prices, you are paid incremental commissions. The idea is that you receive up to 50% commissions as you begin, to give you a strong incentive to get started, become active and really boost the brand name of the product.
• You are then also paid on a monthly basis, meaning you can keep easy track of your monthly earnings and bring in a comfortable, monthly wage.
• You have a variety of ways to engage in marketing promotions – you could place targeted content about the program on your website, on blogs, in free reports, in your email campaigns, and so on. In short, the scope you have to promote Binary Options is outstanding.
• You are instantly provided with quality affiliate marketing tools and content like banners, link generators, email templates and more, to ensure that you know all the little tricks and niches to make as many sales as possible.
This really is one of the best affiliate programs out there. Binary trading gives you easy access to a brand new environment, if you are willing to get involved. Learn more and register for your free affiliate account at http://www.binaryoptionsexperts.com/affiliate today.

While many people strive to find what the best affiliate program to promote is, one program that offers an excellent opportunity is in the financial arena. With Binaryoptionsexperts.com, affiliate marketers will be able to promote a subscription program known as binary options trading.
What is a Binary Option?
Some may affiliate marketers not be very familiar with binary trading and although it may sound quite complicated, it really breaks down into two types of categories when it comes to answering the question, "What is a Binary Option?" aka a cash-or-nothing binary option, and what is also known as the asset-or-nothing binary option.
The cash-or-nothing binary option pays out some of whatever the particular fixed amount of cash is if the option expires "in-the-money." Whereas, the asset-or-nothing option will end up paying the value of the underlying security. It may sound like a risky business to learn, but if an affiliate marketer has a good marketing strategy with Binaryoptionexperts.com, he or she can be part of a financial niche that has been noted as a consistently growing market being among the best affiliate programs online.
What types of futures traders are there?
When it comes to Binary trading, there are generally two associated types of futures trading individuals that you have to know about. In most cases, futures traders generally fall into two different categories. The first category is that of hedgers, and these hedgers are generally those that fall in the "asset-or-nothing" bracket as previously mentioned which generally could include an intangible asset such as an index or interest rate. Their ultimate goal is to literally "hedge out" the risk of a price change on the particular asset.
The other category of futures trading individuals is that of "Speculators". These individuals purpose is to make a profit by potentially predicting different market changes and opening what is known as a "derivative" contract related to the particular asset, while they really have no particular use or intent to actually consider making the delivery on that particular underlying asset.
Why consider this binary trading affiliate program?
There is quite literally an endless amount of reasons to consider this type of affiliate program, but one of the most important reasons is that you can earn a very high commission. Affiliates get up to 50% for every person they bring into the program. And the best part is as long as their referrals stay aboard, the affiliates get a recurring monthly commission as well.
Of course if this isn't appealing enough, note that affiliates get paid RIGHT to Paypal. They won't have to wait weeks or months to get a check in the mail; it will go right into their Paypal account and they will be able to use the funds practically immediately on whatever they may desire. This is probably one of the best recurring income affiliate programs on the market today and affiliates won't regret getting to be a part of it. For more information, visit http://www.binaryoptionsexperts.com/affiliate where affiliates are invited to sign up for a free account and get started marketing right away.

Outpatient surgery centers, also known as ambulatory surgery centers, are great options for outpatient surgery due to the fact that the major hospital costs are avoided, patients receive quicker and more personal treatment, and surgery centers often provide more comfortable medical atmospheres. It's important to note that not every surgery center is the same, and most surgery centers are not as heavily regulated as your local hospital. However, by following a few of these simple guidelines, you can find a surgery center that will take care of your medical needs and provide you with trustworthy, affordable service.
Choose Your Surgeon
Whenever you have any medical ailment, it is always a good idea to choose a doctor who you can trust and have confidence in. Trust and confidence are even more essential when picking your surgeon, as they will be your point of reference throughout your procedure and recovery period. Having a surgeon who you are comfortable communicating with can make preparing for your surgery a little more comfortable, and can even increase recovery times.
Another point to consider in choosing a surgeon is to take into account the areas in which they or their surgery center specialize. Some examples of areas of specialization performed by surgery centers and surgeons include:
• Knee
• Shoulder
• Spine
• Eye
• And cosmetic surgery
Whatever operation you need to have, a trustworthy relationship with your doctor is key to your medical health. By having open communication with your surgeon and confidence in their work, you may avoid set-backs like pesky infections or chronic pain. Visit a surgery center and set up an initial meeting with your surgeon before you make any final decisions.
Check for Insurance Coverage
With the expansion of technology across the medical field, it's easier than ever to make sure your procedure or medical treatment is covered by your insurance company. Most coverage policies are posted online and many surgery centers have their insurance contracts readily available for when you call. However, you should note that some surgery centers require an out-of-pocket facility fee. This fee is generally due to the fact that surgery centers often have the most technically advanced medical equipment and state-of-the-art amenities for doctors and patients.
Also, some surgery centers are covered under medical beneficiaries like Medicare. Because outpatient surgery centers save some expensive costs associated with hospitals stays, Medicare pays about 72% less for patients who use surgery centers. There are approximately 5,300 Medicare certified ambulatory surgery facilities in the United States, so call your local surgery center to learn more about their insurance policies.
Make Sure the Surgery Center is Accredited
Accreditation is an extremely important factor in choosing a surgery center. There are three major accreditation organizations:
• American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilities (AAAASF)
• Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC)
• The Joint Commission
These accreditation organizations provide a multitude of safety checks and inspections each year to make sure the surgery center is staying up to date with their medical practices and following specific healthcare guidelines. In an accreditation audit, a team of auditors will make sure a surgery center is following local, state, and federal regulations for licensure, fire safety, sanitation, and building codes. Auditors also check medical records and written policies to make sure the surgery center is in compliance with industry standards. In addition, auditors conduct biomechanical inspections, monitor infection control practices, and make sure the center is following acceptable hazardous waste standards.
Becoming accredited by one of the major accreditation organizations can cost a surgery center thousands of dollars, but if the center is not willing to put up the money to be accredited, then they aren't worth your time. Accreditation is essential to ensuring your safety throughout your medical procedure, and will guarantee that your surgery center is up to par with industry standards.

High cholesterol is not something that develops in your body overnight. There are two types of cholesterol that constantly move through our bloodstream. High-density lipoprotein, or HDL, is considered "good" cholesterol because it carries cholesterol away from arteries. Low-density lipoprotein, or LDL, is referred to as "bad" cholesterol because it leads to blockages in arteries. Excess LDL cholesterol in the bloodstream can contribute to the build-up of plaque in the inner walls of major arteries, making them harder and less flexible. In doing so, LDL cholesterol increases the risk of heart disease and stroke due to the restriction of blood flow and oxygen to the heart and brain.
Monitoring your cholesterol is difficult because everyone needs cholesterol in their blood in order to produce hormones and develop cell wall membranes. Our bodies naturally produce about seventy-five percent of the cholesterol in our bodies through the liver, while the other twenty-five percent enters our blood stream from our dietary sources. This means we do have control over our cholesterol levels directly through the foods we eat and the choices we make about our overall health. By reducing your risk factors and paying closer attention to your diet you can improve your cholesterol levels.
Expand Your Diet
When it comes to creating a healthy diet, simply eliminating foods does not make for a healthier human body. Whether you're trying to lower your cholesterol, lose weight, or just improve your overall health, you should not solely rely on cutting back unhealthy foods, but also expand your diet and explore new options.
If you're trying to lower your cholesterol, you've probably heard that saturated fat appears to be the leading culprit for high levels of LDL cholesterol in the blood stream. Removing high-fat dairy products and replacing butter or vegetable oil with olive oil can certainly improve your cholesterol numbers, but there appears to be a better option.
Studies have shown that more dramatic reductions in cholesterol come from diets that actually add foods. Oatmeal, kidney beans, fruits, and vegetables are all packed with soluble fiber, a nutrient that has proven to decrease LDL cholesterol numbers. Also, eating a handful of almonds, peanuts, or pistachios every day can also help reduce your total cholesterol. Adding fish with high levels of omega-3 fatty acids to your diet has been proven to lower blood pressure, which reduces your risk of heart disease. By expanding your diet you will find delicious ways to keep your body's nutrients balanced, improve your overall health, and decrease your risk of stroke or heart disease.
Maintain Regular Physical Activity
When it comes to exercise, consistency is the name of the game. Studies have shown that exercising five to seven days a week can increase your HDL cholesterol by up to ten percent. While working out every day may not be a realistic option for you, increasing your daily physical activity may be easier than it seems.
Doctors recommend taking time after dinner every evening for a brisk walk around the block. You can also increase your daily physical activity and reduce your risk for heart disease by replacing smoke breaks at work with five minute walks. Try purchasing a pedometer with the goal of walking 10,000 steps per day. This may seem like a lofty goal, but you would be surprised how much a little exercise spread throughout your day can add up and vastly improve your overall health.
Consider Medications
Lifestyle changes should be your first option when it comes to reducing your cholesterol, but sometimes they aren't enough to overcome genetic factors that cause the overproduction of LDL cholesterol. Also, if your risk for heart disease is extremely high, medications are the only way to quickly reduce your total cholesterol. Statins are medications that can lower LDL cholesterol production in the liver by up to fifty percent. However, like any medication, statins may have adverse results for your health, so only your doctor can tell you whether medications should be sought to help lower your cholesterol.

Article Title: How to Strengthen the Patient/Doctor Relationship

A strong relationship between the doctor and patient is important on multiple levels for the care of the patient. If a patient believes in the competence and skill of the doctor, they may be more willing to reveal certain aspects of their medical issues or trust and implement specific medical advice from their doctor into their treatment.
When it comes to treatment and recovery, a patient's mental outlook is almost as important as their physical status. Patient recovery periods may decrease if they believe that have had and are currently receiving the most effective medical treatment available. Likewise, a doctor may be more comfortable with a patient who has shown trust, relieving the doctor's worries about malpractice claims and expanding their possibilities for treatment. The doctor and patient can both take steps toward increasing their trust for one another, thus strengthening their relationship and fostering an atmosphere of encouragement and care.
Lay Out a Thorough Plan
It's the responsibility of both the patient and doctor to establish a thorough plan for the patient's diagnosis, treatment, and recovery periods. For the patient, this means understanding every step of the process and asking the necessary questions when they arise. If a patient is not clear on their plan from the beginning, they may lose trust in their doctor and consequently harm the relationship. By making sure they understand the doctor's goals, the patient is confirming their trust in the doctor's abilities and is mentally prepared to pursue treatment.
The doctor's responsibility is to establish personalized treatment plans for each of their patients. Sometimes, it can be easy to give patients with the same ailments similar treatment plans. However, every patient is unique and their treatment plans will vary depending on their age, sex, or general health. By tailoring each patient's plan directly to their individual capabilities, the doctor ensures that the patient is comfortable with their plan. Also, it's the doctor responsibility to put medical jargon into plain terms for the patient so there is no miscommunication between the two.
Communicate Between Doctors, Patients, and Insurance Policies
Insurance policies can have elaborate and difficult legal wordings. Most patients do not fully understand their own coverage policies and insurance representatives often emphasize particular points to patients or doctors in order to make their policies sound more appealing. Other times, insurance representatives may try to dictate the treatment of their client based upon what's in the best interest of the company.
It's the responsibility of the doctor and patient to work together to make sure the treatment plan that they have laid out falls within the patient's insurance policy. Ideally, all three groups share the same primary concern, which is that of the health of the patient. However, if a patient perceives that they are not receiving treatment that is to their greatest benefit, they may look to place blame on their doctor. Once the trust is lost, the relationship is destroyed. In order to avoid these situations, most hospitals offer financial assistance teams to help the doctors and patients work together within a specific insurance policy.
Utilize Every Resource, Including Each Other
Many patients turn to the internet to research a diagnosis they have received or to identify certain symptoms they may be having. While there is some great information available on the web, patients should make sure that they trust the word of their doctor over the words they read online. Every individual's diagnosis is unique, and information found on the internet may apply to broad diagnoses that aren't applicable to the particular patient's situation.
Doctors should consider different resources they can use to effectively communicate with their patients. Electronic mobile devices are excellent ways to visualize information and can be extremely useful in explaining a complicated concept. As long as the patient and doctor have open communication with one another, utilizing outside resources to better understand a treatment or diagnosis can benefit the patient/doctor relationship.

Outpatient or ambulatory surgery centers are facilities where surgeons perform procedures that do not require patients to be hospitalized. Most surgery centers practice endoscopic surgery, a minimally invasive technique that requires only a small incision. Endoscopic surgery is equally as effective as traditional surgery and can drastically reduce recovery times.
Because surgery centers are not as regulated as hospitals, it's important that they become accredited by one of the major accreditation organizations. Accredited surgery centers are just as safe as hospital surgery units and can often times perform endoscopic procedures faster than hospitals, as well as offer patients more personalized treatment. By specializing in certain fields and procedures, ambulatory surgery centers offer the highest level of quality in a cost-effective manner. Knowing how centers specialize is an important part in choosing the surgery center that will best address your medical needs.
Ophthalmology
Eye specialists are the most frequently sought after ambulatory surgery centers. Ophthalmology centers can perform everything from common cataract and LASIK surgery, to more difficult procedures that help treat glaucoma. Because ophthalmology centers specialize in eye surgery, they are more likely to have advanced technology and more experience for certain procedures.
For example, cataract surgery is a common procedure in which cataracts are removed and custom intraocular lenses are inserted into the patient's eyes. Surgery centers specializing in ophthalmology may be better positioned to purchase new technology like the femtosecond laser, which decreases recovery times and provides more safety for the patient. Accredited ophthalmology surgery centers may also employ multiple ophthalmologists and offer a wide range of procedural abilities.
Orthopedics
There are multiple fields of specialization for orthopedic surgery centers. Whereas some surgery centers may specialize in one field, like spinal surgery, others offer a wide variety of procedures from multiple orthopedic surgeons. These procedures can include reconstructive surgeries for breaks and tears, arthroscopic procedures for the knee and shoulder, or hand, foot, and ankle surgeries. Depending on the specific procedure a patient's medical condition requires, it can be in the patient's benefit to choose a specialized or more expansive surgery center.
For sports injuries, it may be in the patient's benefit to find a surgery center that can perform their specific procedure, as well as offer pain management services. If the sports injury is recurrent, a steroid or cortisone injection may be necessary throughout their treatment. However, for very specific procedures like relieving a pinched nerve with a foraminotomy, a spinal surgery clinic specializing in endoscopic surgery would provide the best treatment.
Gastrointestinal (GI)
Most gastrointestinal surgery centers specialize in colonoscopy and enteroscopy procedures that help doctors see problems which may not appear on imaging tests. A colonoscopy allows doctors to see ulcers, abnormal growths or bleeding in the colon or large bowel, and inflamed mucous linings in the intestine. An enteroscopy is a procedure that allows doctors to see a direct visualization of the small bowel. Through an enteroscopy, a doctor may be able to diagnose and treat hidden GI bleeding or locate and remove sores without damaging the healthy tissues. Both exams are also thorough ways for doctors to screen for colorectal cancer.
Pain Management
Pain management centers usually employ a team of health care professionals that can offer a variety of services. From surgeons, to physicians, to psychologists, or physical therapists, the team of professionals can help every aspect of an individual patient's chronic pain. For minimally invasive surgical procedures, doctors may repair damaged nerves through an endoscope or inject corticosteroids into muscles or joints to relieve irritation, swelling, and muscle spasms.
Some non-invasive treatment options at pain management clinics may include acupuncture, electrical stimulation, or relaxation techniques. Physical and aquatic therapy may be available for long-term rehabilitation processes as well. Because the range of treatments for chronic pain is so diverse, not every pain management center is the same, so consult a doctor and set up introductory meetings to make sure your pain management center can effectively treat your medical conditions.

There are more opportunities to find work in the healthcare field than ever before. As new technologies are expanding the ways in which we communicate, research, and perform tasks in healthcare, the need for healthcare professionals has extended into all facets of the industry. Whether you're interested in becoming a doctor or nurse, or you're looking to get into healthcare through public health or medical sales, there are plenty of opportunities for individuals who are highly motivated and have a strong work ethic.
Doctor of Medicine (MD)
Becoming a doctor takes a lot of hard work and discipline, as well as a natural ability to excel in the sciences. However, medical schools accept students from different educational and vocational backgrounds. Once accepted, medical students will undergo four years of intense clinical training. During this time, medical students will observe and take part in patient care through rotations in internal medicine, surgery, pediatrics, family medicine, obstetrics/gynecology, neurology, and psychiatry.
Once a medical student has graduated from medical school, they will participate in at least three years of residency and choose their area of specialization. After they've completed a residency or fellowship, the doctor must obtain a medical license and become a board certified physician. Once all of the education, training, and certifications are complete, a doctor may join a group practice, start their own private practice, join a clinic, or remain hospital based. Even though the path for becoming a doctor is long and difficult, doctors enjoy a profession based on helping others that is both highly challenging and rewarding.
Other Clinical Job Opportunities
Outside of medical school, there are a variety of options in the healthcare field that provide alternatives for those unable or willing to pursue an MD Most fields require education beyond a bachelor's degree, but they offer competitive salaries and the rewards of direct patient care. Some options for other clinical jobs include:
• Physical Therapy
• Physician Assistants
• Occupational Therapy
• Medical Radiology
• Nutrition
• Pharmacy
• Nursing
• And more
Like medical students, those pursuing clinical job opportunities face rigorous courses and testing, but once they pass licensing exams and receive certifications, these individuals have the opportunity to work directly with patients in their specialty areas.
Public Health
Working in healthcare does not always mean participating in direct patient care. A career in public health allows for professionals of various skill sets to stay involved in the industry without necessarily working in a hospital or doctor's office. Many public health graduates work in local, state, or federal health departments with jobs ranging from epidemiology to public health education.
There are also plenty of opportunities for healthcare professionals in non-profit organizations. Case management is an important part of non-profit organizations in which professionals help particular individuals with their specific health or financial needs. Case managers organize insurance policies, order prescriptions, make doctor's appointments, and work individually with each of their clients. Working in public health usually requires someone to have excellent communication and organizational skills. While professionals may not be working in direct patient care, they still retain the rewarding aspects of helping others in the healthcare field.
Health Administration or Medical Sales
These positions are for those who are more interested in the business side of healthcare. Health administrators can be responsible for running an entire facility or be responsible for operations within a specific department of a hospital. Some jobs in health administration include:
• Policy Analysis
• Finance
• Accounting
• Budgeting
• Marketing
• Human Resources
Another career opportunity related to the business end of healthcare is medical sales. Because medical sales often requires very specified knowledge of the equipment, students who took pre-med courses in college or have some specific medical training often find medical sales interesting and challenging. While a job in medical sales is usually commission based, professionals have high ceilings for success if they are motivated to succeed.

*********************** ARTICLE START ***********************
Panic and anxiety are natural human emotions that everybody experiences. Whether you have an important presentation to give in front of a lot of people, or you get put on the spot in a social setting, almost everyone feels anxiety or panic at certain moments in their lives. However, there is a point where these natural human emotions cross a threshold and become serious medical problems. Symptoms of serious anxiety or panic attacks include:
• Palpitations, sweating, or trembling
• Shortness of breath
• Sense of choking
• Chest pain
• Nausea
• Dizziness
• Numbness or tingling in the limbs
• Chills or hot flashes
• Loss of consciousness
These symptoms usually occur suddenly and may last up to ten minutes. Sometimes, the person having a panic attack may even claim to be having a heart attack or feel like death is imminent. Anxiety and panic attacks are scary, but also very treatable. By recognizing the problem and seeking the correct help, people who suffer from anxiety or panic attacks can lead perfectly normal lives.
Seek a Professional Opinion
People often say they have panic attacks, when in reality they are simply having a natural feeling of anxiety. The only way to accurately diagnose an anxiety or panic disorder is through medical professionals like a general practitioner or psychiatrist. Most mental health diagnoses begin with a physical and mental evaluation of the patient. By combining information received about the patient's physical symptoms with behavioral observations made through an interview, psychiatrists will be able to give an accurate diagnosis for the patient.
The standard manual that most mental health professionals use when deciding on a diagnosis for a patient is the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorder. The most common diagnoses for anxiety and panic disorders include:
• Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD)
• Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
• Social anxiety disorder
• Specific phobias
• Generalized anxiety disorder
Find an Effective Treatment
Once a diagnosis has been made, the psychiatrist or doctor will assign appropriate treatment for the patient. However, because every individual case is unique, there is no universal cure for an anxiety or panic disorder. Antidepressants, mood stabilizers, and atypical antipsychotic medicines are all different medications doctors may prescribe for patients.
In addition to prescription medicines, a doctor may suggest psychotherapy for a patient. By going through therapy, a patient will learn how to understand and recognize their disorder. They will learn coping strategies and find ways to identify the problems or situations that trigger attacks. It's important to note that treatment for an individual may change courses multiple times, depending on how well the patient responds to the medicine, therapy, or combinations of the two.
Moving on From Anxiety and Panic
Once a patient has gone through treatment, they will discover that they have better control over their anxiety and panic attacks. While they may never be completely free of their disorder, patients will see a decrease in the frequency of attacks. A patient may find better ways to even out the stress in their life, rather than letting it compound into one terrifying moment. At work, this may mean keeping an organized calendar and recommending advance notice for assignments. Learning relaxation and breathing techniques is also vital when it comes to controlling an anxiety or panic disorder.
Also, a patient may find that participating in group therapy improves their condition. Especially for patients with post-traumatic stress disorder and specific phobias, sharing stories and coping strategies can be extremely useful in their treatment. Probably the most important part of group therapy is the sense of camaraderie and recognizing that the individual patient is not alone. Anxiety and panic can be very isolating, so having a group of people who share similar problems and are willing to openly communicate about their struggles can be incredibly beneficial for a patient.

If you suffer from chronic back and neck pain, you know that the debilitating pressure and sharp, stinging pain can affect all aspects of your life. Often times, back and neck pain are difficult for doctors to diagnose, and problems can last weeks, months, and even years. Medications like Advil and Tylenol may offer little to no relief while prescription medications like pain killers or muscle relaxers only soothe the symptoms without fixing the actual problem. Treatments can range from simply correcting your daily posture, to serious options like major back surgery, so it's important first and foremost to see a neurologist or orthopedic doctor. For a permanent fix to your back and neck pain, you'll need to diagnose the specific issue with your spine and then apply the proper treatment.
Improve Your Daily Habits
While back pain can be caused by serious injuries or diseases, a majority of back pain is the result of improper posture developed by acquiring bad habits. Hunching over a computer desk all day or lifting heavy weight using a bad technique can cause gradual shifts in the vertebrae that, over long periods of time, can develop into chronic pain. Before you seek medical attention, there are some treatments you can try at home or in the office that may relieve your pesky aches and pains.
If you have to sit at a desk all day, try purchasing a mesh lumbar support system for your office chair. Most of these systems are reasonably priced, easy to install, and will dramatically improve your posture throughout your work day. For those in manual labor, a lumbar support belt may be able to relieve some of the pressure being put on your lower back and can improve your performance at work.
Daily stretching can also relieve back pain. Taking a few minutes per day to stretch your back and legs can loosen tight muscles that add pressure to your back. Also, sleeping on your side with a pillow between your knees helps the natural curvature of your spine and may result in resolving some pain.
Seek Chiropractic Care
Chiropractors can offer the best non-invasive treatment for your back and neck pain. At your first visit, a chiropractor will learn about your health history and perform a physical exam of your spine. The chiropractor may also have an x-ray done to make sure there are no obvious breaks, tumors, or lesions causing your back pain. Once the chiropractor has a solid idea about where your pain is located, he or she will adjust your back by laying you down on a padded table and applying controlled, sudden force to the problem area.
After the chiropractor has adjusted your back and neck, you may feel discomfort in the areas that have been adjusted. Your chiropractor may suggest that you combine the physical adjustments with additional treatments, such as:
• Massage
• Heat or ice
• Electrical Stimulation
• Exercise or rest, depending on the treatment
Consider Surgical Procedures
If you are suffering from severe back and neck pain that has not responded to at-home treatment or chiropractic care, your doctor may order an MRI or CT scan. These images are more in-depth than an x-ray, and can reveal problems with bones, muscles, tissue, tendons, nerves, ligaments, and blood vessels. If the scan reveals a serious problem, your doctor may suggest surgery. While back surgery certainly sounds like a frightening experience, advances in medical technology have allowed doctors to perform operations that are minimally invasive and have reduced recovery periods.
Endoscopic surgery is a minimally invasive surgical procedure that uses an extremely small incision, allowing doctors to fix spinal problems without cutting through large groups of back muscles or nerves. With more advanced medical tools using laser and robotic technology, surgeons can perform these operations in a minimal amount of time and at a high rate of success. Some spinal procedures commonly performed using endoscopic surgery, include:
• Foraminotomy
• Laminotomy
• Endoscopic discectomy
• Facet thermal ablation
• And minimally invasive stabilization
Only your doctor can tell you whether or not your back and neck pain requires endoscopic surgery. However, if you do need endoscopic surgery you can rest assured that your back and neck problems will be fixed, you will have minimal scarring, and you may return to your normal daily activity in as little as one to two weeks.

Minimally invasive or endoscopic surgery is a hot topic in hospitals and doctors' offices around the world. The very name of the procedure makes the surgery sound more attractive to patients who may fear the traumatic effects of traditional surgery. While there are certainly benefits to endoscopic surgery, like any other medical procedure, there are plenty of questions that factor into the decision of whether or not minimally invasive surgery can be successful for a particular patient. Doctors around the world are taking a cautious, but progressive step forward in the types of minimally invasive surgery they can perform, and the results are exciting for the medical field and patients alike.
What is Endoscopic Surgery?
In endoscopic surgery the surgeon uses an endoscope, a long, flexible tube with a light and a camera attached to its end. During an operation, the surgeon inserts this tube into an incision ranging from one-third to three-quarters of an inch long and uses the camera to project the operation onto a monitor. The surgeon then watches this monitor while they perform the operation, carefully maneuvering their instruments through the tiny incision. In some cases, a surgeon may need to make other small incisions, depending on the location or necessary tools required for the operation.
Started in the late 1980s, endoscopic surgery was mainly used for the removal of gallbladders and for appendectomies. However, throughout the 21st century endoscopic surgery has expanded to perform operations for:
• Cardiology
• Neurology
• Vascular systems
• Urology
• Gynecology
• Respiratory systems
• And more
Advantages and Disadvantages of Endoscopic Surgery
The biggest advantage to endoscopic surgery over traditional surgery is the smaller incision. Whereas traditional surgeries may require cutting through muscles or even bones, endoscopic surgery allows for the surgeon to maneuver through the body by doing as little damage as possible. Often times, patient recovery is based more so on the healing of the incision than the actual procedure being performed. In minimally invasive surgery, recovery times, scarring, and the risk of infection are all drastically reduced thanks to the smaller incision.
While endoscopic surgery may sound better to patients, it is a little more taxing for the doctors. Endoscopic surgery can take much longer than traditional surgeries due to the fact that surgeons have a more limited range of motion for their instruments. However, through the advancement of laser and robotic technologies, procedure times are rapidly decreasing, and some doctors claim to be able to do operations in an equivalent, if not faster amount of time than traditional surgery.
How Safe is Endoscopic Surgery?
The safety of an operation largely depends on what operation is being performed. Regardless of whether a patient undergoes traditional or endoscopic surgery, their risk factors will be greater for cardiac operations than for an appendectomy or gallbladder removal. For doctors, every surgery has three main goals:
• Fix the problem
• Operate safely
• Do so with as little trauma as possible
In terms of patient safety and well being, doctors are more willing to sacrifice the third option and increase a patient's recovery time rather than chance not fixing a problem or taking too many risks. The safety of any medical procedure also largely depends on the age, weight, and general health of a patient. For extremely sick or frail patients, traditional surgery may be the safer option because it decreases the amount of time the patient will spend on the operating table. However, for the average person, minimally invasive surgery is a perfectly safe option that creates less scarring, dramatically decreases recovery time, and is equally as successful as traditional surgery.

Whether you're trying to drastically change your lifestyle, or you're just looking to lose a couple of added holiday pounds, weight loss can be a difficult and frustrating process. With so many different weight loss plans and programs, even choosing your course of action for losing weight can be a frustrating experience. Crash diets or fad diets provide quick results, but usually result in long-term weight gain. Diet pills may trim away the pounds, but their ingredients like ephedra or the high doses of caffeine can actually cause irregular heartbeats and even heart attacks.
Losing weight the healthy, patient way seems to be the most effective, but can often times be discouraging or painfully slow. However, by considering alternative ideas for losing weight, you may find that getting healthier doesn't have to be such a drag. Improving your lifestyle is just as much mental as it is physical, so keeping your mind fresh can be a great way to start shredding pounds.
Throw Away Your Scale
Setting goals can certainly keep you motivated throughout the weight loss process, but sometimes getting caught up in the numbers game can weigh you down. Having a set-back can be extremely discouraging and may ruin your motivation. The big problem though, is that the number on the scale may not be a very good reflection of your overall weight loss or improvement in health. If you've been working out more frequently, your body is actually gaining muscle mass, which increases your weight. Also, since you've been exercising you're probably drinking more water and other fluids, which will increase your physical weight.
By throwing away your scale, you can pay closer attention to how your body looks and feels. You may notice muscles that you never had before, or that you are getting deeper, more refreshing sleep. When you change your lifestyle, both your mind and body respond in a positive way. By focusing less on how much you actually weigh and more on the improvements you see and feel, you'll be mentally encouraging yourself to keep on track with your physical regimen.
Add Foods, Don't Subtract
Many diet programs out there suggest that you eliminate carbohydrates entirely from your diet. Others suggest cutting away dairy or red meat. In reality, a wholesome and balanced diet is necessary for your body to perform at its highest level. By eliminating carbohydrates, you are actually depleting your body of natural sources of energy. If you remove milk, cheeses, and yogurt you're removing natural proteins that help your body rebuild muscle.
Rather than eliminating foods, begin expanding your diet in directions you've never considered before. In doing so, you'll discover foods that taste good and provide your body with the healthy nutrients it needs to keep up with your increased physical activity. Foods like eggplant and sweet potatoes are packed with fiber, potassium, and B vitamins and can be cooked in a variety of delicious ways. Lean meats like salmon and top sirloin are excellent sources of the protein you need to rebuild muscles after a good work-out. Adding foods to your diet can expand your taste buds and have you craving healthier meals.
Mind, Body, and Soul
Once you've improved your mental outlook on weight loss and physically improved your body with exercise and healthy foods, you need to take care of your soul as well. Stress can be just as much of an obstacle as the treadmill when it comes to losing weight and developing a healthier lifestyle. Concerns about your career, financial security, or familial responsibilities can weigh you down more than any other physical entity.
By soothing your soul you can clear away the negative energy and increase your productiveness. Relaxation techniques like controlled breathing, yoga, or religious prayer can help ease your soul of its worries and allow you to develop a more positive outlook on your life. Try taking up morning meditation or periodically stretching in the break room at work. Cleansing your soul is a significant and necessary step in improving your lifestyle and increasing your overall health.

Migraines can be detrimental to all aspects of your life. If you have a pulsing headache, it can affect your productivity at work, your responsibilities as a parent, or your ability to relax during your time off. While chronic migraines may be the result of a serious medical condition, some migraines can be avoided by slightly altering your lifestyle. Taking a Tylenol or Aspirin may provide momentary relief for a migraine, but most of the time there are deeper issues at work that are causing your headaches. Small adjustments in your diet or in your daily routine can drastically reduce the amount of migraines you have and can improve your overall well-being.
Make Sure You Have a Balanced, Healthy Diet
While everyone's body is different, there are some general guidelines you can follow that will improve your body's balance of nutrients. For most people, a balanced diet of quality proteins, carbohydrates, fruits, and vegetables is necessary for their bodies to function at a maximum level of performance. However, even if you have a fully balanced diet, there are still certain foods that will increase your susceptibility to migraines. These trigger foods include:
• Caffeinated beverages
• Alcoholic drinks like beer and red wine
• Aged cheeses
• Chocolate
• Processed foods like chicken nuggets
• High sodium foods like yellow rice
Specific ingredients found in your diet can also trigger a migraine after just one drink or bite. Aspartame, a common ingredient in diet soft drinks, has been proven to cause migraines, even in extremely small doses. Monosodium glutamate, or Msg, is often found in Asian dishes and can also quickly trigger a migraine.
Staying hydrated and eating healthy are the best ways to ensure your migraines aren't a direct result from your diet. You may even try directly targeting specific foods that contain high amounts of vitamin B, like kale, spinach, eggs, and yogurt that have been proven to prevent migraines.
Practice Stress Relief
Tension headaches and migraines can be some of the most difficult medical ailments to relieve. If you carry a lot of stress in your neck and shoulders, the muscles in those areas can tighten, causing muscular tension to pull on the back of your skull. Tension headaches can be intense and highly recurrent. The most frustrating part about tension headaches is that people who suffer from them may otherwise be living totally healthy lifestyles.
The best stress relief you can practice is some sort of relaxation technique like meditation or controlled breathing. Taking a few minutes out of your daily routine to sit down, close your eyes, and organize your thoughts can help you stay relaxed and may drastically improve your attitude for the rest of the day. Controlled breathing exercises allow your mind to solely focus on one thing, rather than on the piles of unfinished work on your desk or the list of chores you need to do when you get home. By taking time to center your thoughts and focus your mind, you can relieve stress and increase your productivity.
Exercise, Stretch, and Get Some Sleep
Keeping your body physically stimulated on a regular basis can balance out your hormones and allow your mind some much needed rest. That doesn't mean, though, that you have to be a hero in the gym every day of the week. Sometimes a little physical activity as simple as taking the dog out for a walk or doing some work in the garden can get your blood flowing and allow your mind to focus on a simple task.
If you do practice daily exercise, it's extremely important that you stretch before and after every workout. Muscles that aren't stretched may have lactic acid build up which can cause cramps, soreness, and muscular knots, all of which leads to tension and stress. By stretching out your muscles you are relieving the tension and relaxing your body. The ultimate way to relax, however, is to get some sleep. Try adhering to a regular schedule of around eight hours per night in order to wake up refreshed and ready for the day.

To most patients, medical jargon can sound like a foreign language. For this reason, open communication between the doctor and patient is essential to the patient's understanding of their situation. Misunderstandings from either side can result in mistakes that hurt a patient's physical or mental health. Doctors and patients, then, have a common responsibility to make sure they communicate and understand one another as clearly as possible. By following a few simple steps, doctors and patients can strengthen their relationship and ensure that important information is communicated in an effective manner.
Make Eye Contact and Practice Active Listening
For patients, practicing active listening and asking thoughtful, open-ended questions are two of the most effective ways they can communicate with their doctor. Too often, patients allow important information or advice slip by without asking necessary questions. It may be intimidating or embarrassing to ask questions, but the reality is that a doctor may be able to explain something in a slightly different manner that opens up insights for the patient's understanding. If patients have strong eye contact and are willing to ask questions, it shows the doctor that they care about their treatment, which in turn, allows the doctor to invest more into the relationship.
From the doctor's point of view, they need to be sure they are always keeping strong eye contact with the patient to increase non-verbal communication. While the doctor may not even know it, looking a patient in the eye while explaining a diagnosis or treatment plan actually emits non-verbal cues that show their patient they care. By responding to patient questions with thoughtful, easy-to-understand answers, communication becomes stronger and the patient knows they are being cared for with the utmost attention.
Use Technology Wisely
Technological advances have done wonders for the medical fields, and many modern operations could not exist without some of the innovative advances in medical technology. However, there are both effective and ineffective ways to use technology when communicating with a patient. Mobile technologies like iPads or laptops are excellent for showing a patient a diagram or chart. Visual information can often say more than words, and may actually be a stronger way to communicate a concept that is difficult to put into plain terms. However, reading off of an iPad or electronic device while giving a patient a treatment plan may come off as cold or distant, so the doctor needs to make sure he or she combines the screen time with true, one-on-one conversation with the patient.
Likewise, patients need to put away their electronic devices when having a conversation with their doctor. Unless they are using their tablet or mobile device to take notes, their full attention should be on the doctor and the information the doctor is communicating. While keeping in touch with friends and family is certainly important to a patient's recovery, those conversations aren't nearly as vital as the ones with their doctor.
There's a Time and a Place
As we all know, conversations in a hospital room or doctor's office may bring bad news. Sometimes, silence can be the best form of communication, so neither the doctor nor the patient should feel like they need to say something when bad news is broken. Rather, let the moment of emotion pass and the patient gather themselves. Once the patient is in the right frame of mind to clearly communicate, then the doctor can offer possible treatments or explain their next step. The patient, too, will be able to ask the important questions that are on his or her mind without being distracted by an onslaught of emotion.
For occasions when the doctor doesn't have to break bad news, they should still be aware of a patient's condition before trying to communicate. When a patient is in a lot of pain, it can be very difficult to stay focused on a conversation. So, it's important for the patient to be forthcoming with their current condition and inform the doctor if they don't feel capable of effectively communicating. Sometimes all it takes is a fifteen minute rest for the patient to feel better and begin a strong dialogue with their doctor.

If you haven't had a physical since you signed up for your high school sports team, now is the time to see your doctor for a check-up. Most cancers and some diseases can travel through your body without producing a single symptom, so it's vital that a doctor perform the necessary screenings to make sure you are as healthy as you feel. Men and women will go through the same routine examinations of blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol and hormone levels, as well as thyroid and weight evaluations.
Women are more likely to have heart-related stress tests to make sure they have not developed any unforeseen heart disease. For men, a physical will include checking the vital signs, monitoring heart health, and a prostate exam. During a prostate exam, the doctor will be examining the lobes and groove of the prostate gland to make sure it's a healthy size. While it may be uncomfortable to go through a prostate exam, it could be the one screening that saves your life.
See a Dermatologist
After years of being in the great outdoors, your skin becomes more susceptible to melanoma. Though melanoma is curable, early detection can be the difference between life and death. Everyone over forty should schedule an annual screening with their dermatologist to check for skin cancer. If your dermatologist notices an area that causes alarm, a biopsy will be done on the suspicious tissue. A pathologist will then examine the tissue and determine whether the sample is benign (not cancer) or malignant (cancerous). Like most cancers, early detection is key for skin cancer, so make sure you stay up to date with your dermatology screenings.
Mammograms and Gynecological Exams for Women
Breast cancer is becoming increasingly prevalent in women over the age of forty, so every woman should have an annual mammogram. A mammogram is a painless, x-ray picture of the breast that can detect malignant tumors that may otherwise go unnoticed. Women who have a family history of breast cancer should consult their doctors and consider beginning their annual screenings at a much younger age.
Women over forty should also continue seeing their gynecologist. Ovarian cancer is the fifth most common cancer for women and usually cannot be detected outside of a gynecological exam. If you have not been to the gynecologist for years, expect your doctor to spend some time discussing your health and performing both external and internal examinations.
Get Checked for Colon Cancer
Behind breast and lung cancer, colorectal cancer is the third most common cancer and cause of cancer mortality. A colonoscopy is the most thorough screening to find polyps and cancers and may result in their immediate removal and biopsy. A colonoscopy usually does not need to be performed until you are fifty, but if you have a family history of colorectal cancer, your doctor may advise you to be screened earlier.
Though the procedure is thorough, a colonoscopy can cause complications such as abdominal pain or infection. There are less thorough screenings that can be conducted to detect colorectal cancer such as the CT colonography. Consult your doctor about which screening may be best for your health, and make sure your doctor is up to date with all of your preventative screenings.

Diabetics Acid-Alkaline Food Chart
In the Part I of this series, we discussed the outstanding health benefits that the alkaline diet brings to humans in general, and to people suffering from diabetes in particular.
To follow an alkaline diet, people should choose their daily foods from an 'Acid-Alkaline Foods Chart'. We recently published a 'Diabetics Acid-Alkaline Food Chart' for people with diabetes who are willing to follow an alkaline diet. To use this chart, diabetics need to comply not only with the alkaline diet rule, but also with the glycemic index rule.
The 'Alkaline Diet Rule' defines the basic nutritional guidelines. This diet plan recommends that we humans make up our daily food intake with at least 80% of alkaline-producing foods, and with no more than 20% of acid-forming food items. Additionally, this dietary plan highlights that the more alkaline a food is, the better it really is; and inversely the more acidic a food is, the worse it will be for our body.
The 'Glycemic Index Rule' divides the foods we eat into four groups, depending on their potential to elevate the blood glucose. The glycemic index (GI) measures this aptitude; it varies from 0 to 100.
Group 1:
Foods that include almost no carbohydrates and that have, in consequence, a negligible glycemic index (GI~0); people who have diabetes can eat these foods without any restriction.
Group 2:
Food items that contain carbohydrates with a low glycemic index (GI 55 or less); diabetics should consume them with caution.
Group 3:
Foods that have carbohydrates of high glycemic index (GI 56 or more); people with diabetes must cut them from their meals so far as possible.
Group 4:
Processed foods; diabetics will need to consult the manufacturers' labels to find out the glycemic index.
For more information on the glycemic index of foods, diabetics may visit the American Diabetes Association and the University of Sydney websites [respectively at http://www.diabetes.org/food-and-fitness/food/planning-meals/the-glycemic-index-of-foods.html and at http://www.glycemicindex.com/foodSearch.php].
Diabetics Top Best and Top Worst Foods
Especially intended for people with diabetes the 'Diabetics Acid-Alkaline Food Chart' regroups foods into six categories. The list opens with the top best foods and ends with the top worst.
1. Alkalizing food items with no or with a negligible glycemic index (GI~0). They make the top best foods for diabetics who can eat them freely:
Asparagus; broccoli; parsley; celery; lettuce; carob; vegetable juices; mushrooms; squash; okra; zucchini; cauliflower; garlic/onions; green beans; beets; cabbage; raw spinach; limes; avocados; lemons; goat cheese; herb teas; lemon water; stevia; ginger tea; green tea; canola oil; olive oil; flax-seed oil.
2. Alkalizing foods that have a low glycemic index (GI 55 or less). People with diabetes might eat this type of foods with moderation due to their glycemic index values:
Barley grass; carrots; sweet potato; fresh corn; peas/soybeans; olives; tomatoes; kiwi; pears; berries; bananas; cherries; apples; oranges; peaches; grapefruit; papayas; mangoes; Brazil nut; chestnuts; wild rice; lentils; almonds; coconut; hazelnuts; quinoa; soy cheese; breast milk; soy milk; goat milk; whey; raw honey.
3. Acidifying foods with a negligible glycemic index (GI~0). These foods are acidifying and, for this reason, diabetics should consume them with moderation:
Cooked spinach; rhubarb; oysters; venison; liver; cold water fish; shellfish; turkey; chicken; pork; lamb; beef; corn oil; cheese; lard; margarine; cottage cheese; sunflower oil; buttermilk; eggs; butter; tea; coffee; cocoa; wine; beer; molasses; mustard; mayonnaise; artificial sweeteners; vinegar.
4. Acidifying food items that have a low glycemic index (GI 55 or less). People with diabetes will take this type of foods with strict moderation for both their glycemic index and their acidifying nature:
Pinto beans; kidney beans; Lima beans; navy beans; prunes; cranberries; blueberries; sour cherries; plums; wheat; pasta/pastries; whole wheat/rye bread; oats/rye; sprouted wheat bread; corn; brown rice; sunflower seeds; sesame; pecans; cashews; walnuts; pistachios; peanuts; ice cream; homogenized milk; chocolate; yogurt; cream; custard; raw milk.
5. Alkalizing food items that have a high glycemic index (GI 56 or more). Because of their high glycemic index, these foods account among the worst foods for diabetics. Diabetes sufferers should avoid them:
Tofu; turnip; potato with skins; beetroot; melons; pineapple; grapes/raisins; watermelon; figs; dates; raw sugar; rice syrup; maple syrup; millet; amaranth.
6. Acidifying food products with a high glycemic index (GI 56 or more). This group includes the top worst foods for diabetics who must avoid them absolutely:
White bread; buckwheat; pumpkin; white rice; spelt; potatoes w/o skins; processed honey; soft drinks; white sugar; brown sugar.

It is stressful enough that you have to deal with the police and jail, so when you want to get you or your loved one out as soon as possible, they are the ones to call. They are not judgmental and provide service to anyone no matter the alleged criminal charges against them.
You can contact them at http://ipostbailbonds.com/orange-county-bail-bonds/. You can speak directly to an agent and they will start the process of serving you right away based on your bail needs. They take the time to help you understand the bail process and make sure you have support every step of the way until you or your loved one is released. When it is time for court, they will ensure you make it to all court appearances.
Has someone you know and care about been incarcerated in jail? Are they awaiting trial? Then, you should think about getting them bonded out, as this looks better in court than them sitting there the entire time or even after their first court appearance. iPost Bail Bonds can assist you anywhere in Orange County, whether it is Anaheim, Fountain Valley, Huntington Beach, Irvine or other areas in the county. They can assist you quickly, efficiently, and discreetly.
Is there someone you know that has been arrested and taken to an Orange County city jail? Can you post bail there instead of the county jail? Yes, clients will call iPost Bail Bonds and we in turn call the city jail and let them know we will be posting bail. We can arrange this to happen quickly and inmates can be released within an hour or sometimes less. They will never be transported to the county jail.
Do you suspect a bench warrant or an arrest warrant has been issued against you? Not sure what those are? A warrant is a court document that says that law enforcement can place you under arrest. Not sure what each one is issued for and why? A bench warrant is for missing court, and an arrest warrant is when a crime is alleged against you. If this is the case, their Orange County Bail Bonds agents can assist in clearing up the matter before you are taken into custody. When warrants are issued they usually have a bond attached and that is where they come in. They can pay your bail before the law comes to arrest you. When they post bail for you, a new court date is issued and you don't have to worry about being arrested anymore.
You are not alone. Their agents have experience and are ready to help. They know you are worried and want the situation taken care of in a professional manner and expediently. IPost Bail Bonds is here for you or anyone you know in Orange County that needs a bail bondsman. Don't hesitate to contact us at http://iPostBailBonds.com. Now, as far as pricing for bonds, it is set, you don't have to worry about it changing daily or depending on who you talk to, what it will be. The State of Florida regulates this, so if you call around to get a better fee, that agency that quotes you "lower than most", is breaking the law. The fees are 10% of a bond that is $1,000 or more and a flat fee of $100 if the bond is under $1,000. It is that simple. Now, a federal bond is totally different, but for all others, you may count on this price, unless it is a Federal Bond, which is a different situation altogether.
Bail Bonds Now handles South Florida Bail Bonds in areas such as Broward County, with areas such as: Coconut Creek, Coral Springs, Davie, Deerfield, Fort Lauderdale, Hollywood, Lauderhill, Miramar, Pembroke Pines, Plantation, Pompano Beach, Sunrise, Tamarac, Weston. They also cover areas in Dade County, Monroe County and Palm Beach County. So you have a great concept for a mobile game and you've heard that free 2 play games with in app purchase is the way to go but you are not sure where to start. Guess what? You are not alone. Designing a good in-game store is very different than designing the core of the game and many game developers are unsure about how to do it right.
Let me take you through some of the keys to designing a store that users will enter frequently and hangout in for long periods:
• Put the store where users can find it and make it a natural part of the game loop
• Create items that players use in your game every day
• Make the store experience an interesting one
• Limit continuous game play
If you implement these elements in your game you are significantly increasing your chances to succeed. Adding a few of these is good but if you want 3 stars try to get them all. Here is more specific advice about each one of these:
Put the Store Entrance Where Users Are
Getting users to naturally enter the store as part of the game flow is very important. Let's check a few methods for achieving this. If your game has levels, it should be easy enough for you to add a button to the store from the screen that notifies the user about a successful level completion. Is your game is a 'survival mode' type game or an 'endless runner'? No problem. These games have limited sessions that usually end with a summary screen. This will be the right place to put your store button. Designing other types of games? If you implement the 4th tip you would actually break the game to sessions and would be able to use the session end screen. Alternatively, you can add the store button to screens that notify the user about achievements.
You can also use virtual goods that require users to activate or equip them and use the store as the interface for picking the active character/vehicle/weapon. This will help you get users to the store more frequently.
Add Items that Players Need Regularly
Ok, so the store is now accessible from every screen in the game but why would a user want to enter it? Let's think about the real world. The store that we enter the most is the one that sells the product we use and consume every day. Let's create some goods like that and make them easy to buy with game coins. How easy? The user should be able to collect enough coins in 1-3 levels or a few minutes of game play. The good itself should be regularly consumed and should make it easier for the user to collect more coins. If you do this correctly you end up with a consumption loop that brings the users to the store almost every time they user plays the game.
Here is how to make an effective regular use good:
• Make it complement the game store (bananas for a monkey, fuel for a car, ...)
• Price it so that users can earn enough to buy it within a few minutes of game play
• Create an item that is fun to use and makes the game more engaging with it
• Give the item powers that will make earning coins easier
Design an Engaging Store
You should also give the user reasons to spend time in your In-App Purchase store (see http://soom.la for more info about making IAP stores). Think of ways to make the store engaging and interesting for a long time - extend the variety, add some mystery and try to keep it fresh. If you want to look at a good example of store variety - look at CSR racing. That store has over 2 million items you can buy. You can also add mystery by using silhouettes to hide an item until the right time has come. This helps in keeping the user engaged and curious about what the store has to offer. The last bit is to keep your store fresh by adding items, unlocking items and even featuring seasonal items and limited editions.
Add Waiting Mechanics
If you want to really play it like the pros, you need to limit the user ability to play endlessly. This is a bit tricky so you will need to approach this carefully and be careful not to annoy your users. The best way to do it is by experimenting with different levels of limitations and measuring the impact on users until you reach the sweet spot. If you do choose to explore this direction, you should design a resource that is consumed naturally in gameplay and automatically adds up as time goes by. Candy Crush Saga, has 'lifes' and in other games you can see fuel or energy. When the user runs out, she can choose to do one of three things: buy more, stop playing and come back later or wait inside the game. If you followed the rest of the advice, the option of staying inside the game and visiting the store should be a likely choice for a user who wants to kill some time.
I already wrote about the risks in the last tip but if you look at the top games, most of them have some version of it. You just have to make sure you are balancing it correctly. I will discuss how to do it in one of my next posts.

When people think of JJ Abrams' new Star Trek films, they often think of characters such as Captain Kirk and Mr. Spock. However, fans of the longtime series of TV shows and movies know that those men depend on some very strong women to keep the USS Enterprise going strong. Two of those women are Nyota Uhura (Zoe Saldana) and Carol Marcus (Alice Eve).
Uhura is a character whom even casual fans of the series will probably recognize, because she was a part of the iconic "Star Trek" series, which many fans now refer to as TOS, or the original series. Back then, Uhura was played by Nichelle Nichols, a television pioneer who had the first substantial female African-American role on TV. Nichols would play the part not only in the television show but in several movie adaptations in the 1980s and '90s as well. When JJ Abrams decided to produce and direct a rebooted version of the original series, he cast actress Zoe Saldana in the role of Uhura.
In Abrams' 2009 movie "Star Trek," the character of Uhura is the same as the one in the television series but is younger and at the beginning of her career. At the start of the film, she is still fairly fresh out of the Starfleet Academy and holds the rank of cadet. By the end of the film, she has been promoted to the lieutenant, which is her rank in the original television series and the rank that most fans associate with her.
In "Star Trek Into Darkness," Uhura is still an integral part of the crew of the Enterprise as a communications officer on the bridge. She is tough and disciplined and doesn't take flack from anyone, including Captain Kirk. In the television series, Kirk and Uhura once shared a kiss, but in "Star Trek Into Darkness," Uhura is in a relationship with Spock that occasionally complicates her ability to do her job. This is evident in a scene at the very beginning of the film, when Kirk must decide whether to break Starfleet protocol to save Spock's life and asks Uhura for her advice.
Those who don't closely follow the Star Trek canon may not know who Carol Marcus is, but she is actually an important part of Kirk's world. Most only know of Kirk as a womanizer, which is how he is often portrayed in the Abrams films, including the new "Star Trek Into Darkness." However, Kirk did have an actual relationship with Dr. Carol Marcus, a science officer who was very focused on her lab work in the original films from the 1980s. She became pregnant with Kirk's child, which complicated their relationship so much that it eventually broke them apart. She would end up raising their child alone, choosing career and stability over life as Kirk's girlfriend or wife, constantly traveling aboard the Enterprise.
In "Star Trek Into Darkness," Marcus is played by Alice Eve, but the character is at a very different point in her life than she was in the 1980s films, in which she was portrayed by Bibi Besch. Carol and Kirk have not yet established the close relationship that would lead to her pregnancy, though they are both ambitious and career driven just like the original iterations of the characters. In interviews, Eve has said that she thought long and hard about her portrayal of the character, opting to make Carol emotionally softer than she was in the original films. She said that she wished to bring a sense of hopefulness to the character, who hadn't yet been bogged down by her career and the tough life of a single parent.
The character isn't as emotionally tough as Besch's character and has a lot to learn. It is rumored that the character will get into a relationship with Kirk sometime during "Star Trek Into Darkness," but this can't be confirmed until the film is released on May 17, 2013. Until then, JJ Abrams isn't letting very much information out, as evidenced from his silence regarding whether Benedict Cumberbatch's villain, John Harrison, was really Khan or not.
Both Uhura and Carol Marcus are examples of strong women in films who stand out in a sea of men. Both characters also have storylines that set them up for juicy parts in any additional Abrams films, should a third or fourth installment get made. Until then, sci-fi fans will have to wait while Abrams helms that other big space-set franchise, Star Wars.

What would summertime be without some epic heroes to love, supernatural creatures and villains to fear, and adventures to make us swoon? Summer and blockbuster movies seem to go hand in hand. In anticipation of more good things to come, it can be a lot of fun to revisit some of the biggest and most memorable summer flicks of days gone by.
"The Avengers" (2012)
When big names like Captain America, Thor, Iron Man, and The Hulk get together, big things are destined to happen. "The Avengers" was a megahit in theaters. It holds the record for the highest-grossing opening weekend ever. It earned over $200 million at the box office in just three days. With its nearly 150-minute run time, it is the longest Marvel film to date. Its cast, including Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, and Chris Evans, was phenomenal. The writers blended humor with iconic moments in a storyline that was easy to follow and kept viewers on the edges of their seats. It's little wonder that a sequel is in the works.
"The Dark Knight" (2008)
Any movie involving the world's favorite caped crusader is bound to draw a big audience, especially when Batman is pitted against his archenemy, the Joker. Christian Bale and Heath Ledger shine in this action-packed summer flick. Numbers don't lie: "The Dark Knight" garnered $533 million at the box office.
"Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark" (1981)
What do you get when you cross biblical wrath, Nazis, and a plethora of snakes? You get one of the most beloved action movies of all time-and the start of something big in the Indy machine. Arguably, no action hero has surpassed Indiana Jones, and perhaps none ever will. If snakes, guns, swords, and lots of fighting appeal to you, you'll be a diehard fan of this movie that pits Jones (Harrison Ford) against the Nazis in an attempt to find the legendary Ark of the Covenant.
"Star Wars" (1977)
This is the original film that started it all for the "Star Wars" franchise. It is widely considered to be one of the most successful movies of all time, having earned over $550 million at box offices around the globe. It was nominated for ten Academy Awards, and it's been re-released a number of times, always to captive, welcoming audiences.
"Independence Day" (1996)
Regardless of who is in the White House, movies that give us a feel for what it would be like to be taken over by another power invariably draw some attention. Throw Will Smith into the mix and release a film titled "Independence Day" a few days before said date, and yes, theaters will fill. Although the storyline-aliens try to take over the planet-is tried and true, the film brought in over $300 million at the box office.
"Toy Story 3" (2010)
The third installment in the Disney-Pixar "Toy Story" franchise arrived just in time to break up its fans' summertime boredom. This sequel puts the toys in a daycare center and details their journey back to Andy's house, bringing about heart-wrenching moments and hilarious laughs. Its creators laughed all the way to the bank, since the film grossed $414 million.
"Jurassic Park" (1993)
Many people don't realize how busy Steven Spielberg was the year he created "Jurassic Park"; it was also the same year he directed "Schindler's List." This monster-sized film brought in $914 million, which is super close to being a billion bucks. The magic of seeing dinosaurs brought to life on the big screen and the horror of seeing what dinosaurs could do to us mere humans are just a few reasons to love this action-packed flick.
"Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl" (2003)
A boy falls in love with girl. The girl gets kidnapped by pirates. The boy must team up with legendary captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp)-the craziest, coolest, funniest man with an eyepatch ever to sail the open seas-to save the girl. Throw in a few wily characters and a quest to discover a cursed hoard of Aztec gold, and you have the recipe for reeling in $300 million and some change at the box office.
"Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2" (2011)
Love him or hate him, everything that Harry Potter (Daniel Radcliffe)-or should that be JK Rowling?-touches turns to gold at the box office. The release of this final chapter in the series is proof positive that the world is bewitched by the characters in Rowling's series of books. It grossed around $380 million and was even available to view in 3-D. The film, which continues to chronicle the adventures of a young wizard and his friends, was nominated for numerous awards, including three Oscars.
"The Hangover" (2009)
Grossing $277 million at the box office is a huge feat for any film, especially one that is based on a group of drunks. It is said that what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, at least for these four fun-loving party animals, who are out to have a few misadventures before one of them walks down the aisle.

Rating: R (strong sexual content, language, drug use)
Length: 97 minutes
Release Date: May 3, 2013
Directed by: Mark Mann
Genre: Drama
Stars: 2 out of 5
"Generation Um..." begins with John (Keanu Reeves) opening up birthday cards from friends and family he seems to be mostly disconnected from. He lives in a dilapidated apartment with his cousin in New York City, and he has no real ambition in life. He even pointedly says his life is so lame that he is now officially more disappointed in himself than his parents are, which says a lot about his self-perception and his honesty.
Although John doesn't have a large number of friends, he does have a small circle of close ones. Two of them are Mia (Adelaide Clemens) and Violet (Bojana Novakovic), two girls who seem as aimless as John. They are prostitutes who need to get drunk or high pretty much every night in order to deal with their lackluster and sometimes dangerous existence. They are clearly addicts yet neither John nor any of their other friends seem to notice or care. After he steals a video camera from a nearby flash mob, John decides to film Mia and Violet as they spend their day hopping from bar to bar trying to forget how much they hate their lives.
The long day that John, Mia, and Violet share together soon turns into night, and the two ladies try to steel themselves for another night of selling their bodies to strangers. They already seem mentally exhausted from their emotional releases that day, so trying to prepare for their soulless work looks twice as hard. The camera shows the weariness of the two characters as they get ready to face another night out on the streets. It almost seems unfair for them to have to work after the day they've had, but such is life in the big city. Before the credits roll, there is a nice little twist that reveals exactly why the three of them are friends that will likely surprise the audience.
In the age of checking your Facebook page and showing pictures of your daily experiences on Twitter, the characters in "Generation Um..." are decidedly disconnected from the rest of the world. It's as if they live in their own little bubble to escape how different they are from everybody around them. John may live with his chipper cousin, but he is hardly happy, even as he eats gourmet cupcakes and drinks good wine. At the start of the film, John has no camera, but he is followed by somebody with one. Once he steals the camera, he becomes a willing participant in the share-everything generation. However, as the camera settles in on the fractured girls, it is painfully obvious they don't share everything with the public. In fact, they barely share anything at all until they are high or drunk.
Director Mark Mann does a good job of capturing the alienation the girls feel through the lens of John's stolen camera. He frames all three of the main characters in a way that makes them look as if they are together yet still alone. The clever camerawork also gives a somewhat claustrophobic feeling to the movie, which adds more layers to the film. Mann must have sat down before filming and really studied what angles and shots would work to achieve these lonely, desperate camera effects, and they really do work brilliantly. By the end of the film, the audience will likely feel the pain and isolation of the young girls as they wander from here to there looking for a place to drink and do drugs.
In addition to serving as the film's director, Mann also wrote the screenplay before casting Reeves in the lead role. After watching the film, it really does feel like Mann may have written the script with Reeves in mind; the character of John seems to fit so well with how Reeves is publicly perceived. Some parts of the movie seem unscripted, as if Mann told his three featured artists to just go with it and see what happens. This is probably the core gem of the film-the fact that it seems so spontaneous yet it is very much a scripted film. It should be no surprise then that Mann had previously only directed one short film and a documentary, and "Generation Um..." has just that feeling of a documentary to it. It's almost like a hybrid docudrama that is immersive and interesting to watch.
