High cholesterol is not something that develops in your body overnight. There are two types of cholesterol that constantly move through our bloodstream. High-density lipoprotein, or HDL, is considered "good" cholesterol because it carries cholesterol away from arteries. Low-density lipoprotein, or LDL, is referred to as "bad" cholesterol because it leads to blockages in arteries. Excess LDL cholesterol in the bloodstream can contribute to the build-up of plaque in the inner walls of major arteries, making them harder and less flexible. In doing so, LDL cholesterol increases the risk of heart disease and stroke due to the restriction of blood flow and oxygen to the heart and brain.

Monitoring your cholesterol is difficult because everyone needs cholesterol in their blood in order to produce hormones and develop cell wall membranes. Our bodies naturally produce about seventy-five percent of the cholesterol in our bodies through the liver, while the other twenty-five percent enters our blood stream from our dietary sources. This means we do have control over our cholesterol levels directly through the foods we eat and the choices we make about our overall health. By reducing your risk factors and paying closer attention to your diet you can improve your cholesterol levels.

    Expand Your Diet

When it comes to creating a healthy diet, simply eliminating foods does not make for a healthier human body. Whether you're trying to lower your cholesterol, lose weight, or just improve your overall health, you should not solely rely on cutting back unhealthy foods, but also expand your diet and explore new options.

If you're trying to lower your cholesterol, you've probably heard that saturated fat appears to be the leading culprit for high levels of LDL cholesterol in the blood stream. Removing high-fat dairy products and replacing butter or vegetable oil with olive oil can certainly improve your cholesterol numbers, but there appears to be a better option.

Studies have shown that more dramatic reductions in cholesterol come from diets that actually add foods. Oatmeal, kidney beans, fruits, and vegetables are all packed with soluble fiber, a nutrient that has proven to decrease LDL cholesterol numbers. Also, eating a handful of almonds, peanuts, or pistachios every day can also help reduce your total cholesterol. Adding fish with high levels of omega-3 fatty acids to your diet has been proven to lower blood pressure, which reduces your risk of heart disease. By expanding your diet you will find delicious ways to keep your body's nutrients balanced, improve your overall health, and decrease your risk of stroke or heart disease.

    Maintain Regular Physical Activity

When it comes to exercise, consistency is the name of the game. Studies have shown that exercising five to seven days a week can increase your HDL cholesterol by up to ten percent. While working out every day may not be a realistic option for you, increasing your daily physical activity may be easier than it seems.

Doctors recommend taking time after dinner every evening for a brisk walk around the block. You can also increase your daily physical activity and reduce your risk for heart disease by replacing smoke breaks at work with five minute walks. Try purchasing a pedometer with the goal of walking 10,000 steps per day. This may seem like a lofty goal, but you would be surprised how much a little exercise spread throughout your day can add up and vastly improve your overall health.

    Consider Medications

Lifestyle changes should be your first option when it comes to reducing your cholesterol, but sometimes they aren't enough to overcome genetic factors that cause the overproduction of LDL cholesterol. Also, if your risk for heart disease is extremely high, medications are the only way to quickly reduce your total cholesterol. Statins are medications that can lower LDL cholesterol production in the liver by up to fifty percent. However, like any medication, statins may have adverse results for your health, so only your doctor can tell you whether medications should be sought to help lower your cholesterol.

Once you've reached middle age, it's time to start taking your health and wellness seriously. As you get older, your risk factors for cancer and heart disease increase dramatically. Even people who are in great shape can be susceptible to serious health issues as they grow older, so it's important to start seeing your doctor for annual screenings. Annual screenings are important not just for the peace of mind for yourself or your loved ones, but they may also save your life. With advancements in modern medicine, many cancers and diseases can be eliminated if they are detected early on. Also, most health insurance policies cover annual examinations and screenings, so there's nothing holding you back from scheduling these preventative screenings.

    Schedule a Physical

If you haven't had a physical since you signed up for your high school sports team, now is the time to see your doctor for a check-up. Most cancers and some diseases can travel through your body without producing a single symptom, so it's vital that a doctor perform the necessary screenings to make sure you are as healthy as you feel. Men and women will go through the same routine examinations of blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol and hormone levels, as well as thyroid and weight evaluations.

Women are more likely to have heart-related stress tests to make sure they have not developed any unforeseen heart disease. For men, a physical will include checking the vital signs, monitoring heart health, and a prostate exam. During a prostate exam, the doctor will be examining the lobes and groove of the prostate gland to make sure it's a healthy size. While it may be uncomfortable to go through a prostate exam, it could be the one screening that saves your life.

    See a Dermatologist

After years of being in the great outdoors, your skin becomes more susceptible to melanoma. Though melanoma is curable, early detection can be the difference between life and death. Everyone over forty should schedule an annual screening with their dermatologist to check for skin cancer. If your dermatologist notices an area that causes alarm, a biopsy will be done on the suspicious tissue. A pathologist will then examine the tissue and determine whether the sample is benign (not cancer) or malignant (cancerous). Like most cancers, early detection is key for skin cancer, so make sure you stay up to date with your dermatology screenings.

Mammograms and Gynecological Exams for Women

Breast cancer is becoming increasingly prevalent in women over the age of forty, so every woman should have an annual mammogram. A mammogram is a painless, x-ray picture of the breast that can detect malignant tumors that may otherwise go unnoticed. Women who have a family history of breast cancer should consult their doctors and consider beginning their annual screenings at a much younger age.

Women over forty should also continue seeing their gynecologist. Ovarian cancer is the fifth most common cancer for women and usually cannot be detected outside of a gynecological exam. If you have not been to the gynecologist for years, expect your doctor to spend some time discussing your health and performing both external and internal examinations.

    Get Checked for Colon Cancer

Behind breast and lung cancer, colorectal cancer is the third most common cancer and cause of cancer mortality. A colonoscopy is the most thorough screening to find polyps and cancers and may result in their immediate removal and biopsy. A colonoscopy usually does not need to be performed until you are fifty, but if you have a family history of colorectal cancer, your doctor may advise you to be screened earlier.

Though the procedure is thorough, a colonoscopy can cause complications such as abdominal pain or infection. There are less thorough screenings that can be conducted to detect colorectal cancer such as the CT colonography. Consult your doctor about which screening may be best for your health, and make sure your doctor is up to date with all of your preventative screenings.

The game of paint ball has currently gotten a lot of popularity especially with the young generations. It is basically a game in which a team pitted against the other and one has to shoot as many people as possible from the opposing team with a paint filled canister. Once you are shot you have to forfeit the game. When playing a game of paint ball, you will require having a good mask that is quite interesting to bring you to the mood. It will make you stand out from the opposing team and arouse such an interesting mood.

Intimidating masks are all the rage nowadays. The mask that you wear has to look frightening and make the opposing team look weak in comparison. The masks may have scary pictures or writings that are quite intimidating to the other teams.

The masks come in different types, shapes, sizes and designs. You have to make sure that you get a design that suits your personality. You can even get it custom made if you have a little change to spare. Make sure it is very comfortable and will protect you as you play.

Functionality of a mask is quite important. It will prevent you from getting the chemicals from the paint in your eyes, nose and ears, hence has to be quite waterproof. It also has to be durable to ensure that it lasts for a long time and you will get the most use out of it.

The mask you have should have a modern twist to make it look modernistic and classy. Flame designs and the like are all the rage nowadays so it is advisable that you get one and keep up with the cool crowd. A gun is a safe lock type of gun that is designed especially for play by children. It is a light gun that is used to shoot light canisters that resembles bullets. Safety of a BB gun is very vital since if improperly used it will be dangerous or even cause a lot of fatalities. You should keep it far from children who have not yet been well trained on how best to use it in order to avoid casualties.

Used correctly the BB gun will provide a lot of pleasure to the ones playing. It shoots paint canisters at a lightning speed and will surely assure you of a win against the other team. Ensure that you maintain it properly and that it is always correctly stored to prevent unnecessary damage.

All in all, a paint ball game would not be complete without all the theatricality that is involved. Next time you plan to go out for a game, make sure that all the equipment that you have with you is the current trend in sporting wear. Go full out with the flame themed and such masks as well as modern guns and make sure you are the talk of the play field.

Whether you have a boy or a girl, chances are there is plenty of athletic activities available right in your own community that caters to their age and skill level. Athletics and sports in general are a supportive part of growing up and help kids set the foundation for socialization, team work and a feeling of pride and accomplishment in themselves. The trick is to start them out with a non-competitive attitude and allow them to develop their own likes and dislikes for activities. Just because you dream of having a football or softball star, doesn't mean your child will follow suit and pushing them in a direction they aren't interested in (or good at) causes insecurity and pressure.

Too many parents become involved in their children's sporting events as if it is a direction indication on their own ability. It's as if they are reliving their own childhood or making up for something they didn't do by sitting on the sidelines pressuring their child to do better or be the best. When you involve your kids in sports it is vital to be empathetic, patient and realize that they will come into and out of their athletic abilities on their own terms. There are plenty of kids who are intimidated by competition among peers who crumble in the face of a adversity. When they get the ball, are open for the shot, have a chance to kick the goal – they become paralyzed. Frustrating to watch, but parents should encourage confidence rather than game time success. By pushing too hard, parents will most certainly cause a negative feeling in their children about sports.

In elementary aged sports it is difficult to set the "real" athletes apart from those who just want to participate and hang out with their friends. The reality is there should be no divisions. Engaging in a team sport helps them to develop confidence in others and themselves and they see themselves as part of a larger picture. If your child is the one who barely moves during a soccer game or has never made contact with a ball when holding a bat – they should be commended for being out there doing their best and trying. It is also important to excuse typical gender roles and allow your child to participate in whatever interests them. Tennis, ballet or gymnastics may not have been your dream sport and you may personally feel ill at the thought of them – but YOU aren't the one doing it. If your child is genuinely interested for more reasons than to just please you chances are they will be successful in their own ways.

One huge aspect of involving your kids in sports is the ability it offers to make friends. Far too many parents have preset limitations on who their child can be friends with based on their shallow preferences of which parents they like or who lives in the nicest house. On the playing feel, all becomes equal. Whereas in school children are often separated by ability, chastised for not doing well and pressured to conform to the rules and regulations athletics are a more creative outlet where they can test their own wings. Sure, there are rules for each game but the bottom line, especially with young children and in recreational sports leagues, the experience should be fun! If they whine about going to practice, dismiss the thought of a game and sulk before or after games it is in your child's best interest to involve them in something else.

As your child gets older the competition will get tougher. The coaches will expect more and the entire goal of participating will be winning. That mindset is unavoidable and although not fashionable to admit out loud – it's the absolute truth. If your child grows up always feeling as though they are second best or unsuccessful they will lose interest completely when it really matters the most. The goal of involving your kids in sports early on should be to instill a love of the game, to keep them busy, to get them exercise and allow them to try things out so that they can find their niche in life. It may not be sports at all, but some day they will see the trophy on their wall and remember the year they played 7-8 softball or football. Whether the memories are fond or bothersome largely depends on the attitude of their parents. Involve your kids in sports and allow them to be the ones participating. If you make the whole thing about you, you will only turn what could be a positive and fulfilling experience into something negative.

At some point, your child will drive you crazy. All the time! In fact, you will have days where you wonder if your child is even yours because you are so different. You will wonder what you have done to deserve the insanity of parenthood and question your every motive to have children altogether. Every parent feels this way at some point or another. And most parents feel this way at some point during each and every day. Some things just don't make sense. Like why do you have to fight about getting your child to take a bath each night, when they know they have to do it? Or why does your tween daughter get mad when you won't let her wear her ripped up jeans to school. And why can't they understand that if they don't do well in school, they can't play baseball or visit with friends. Even toddlers can be maddening.

One of the reasons that children drive parents so crazy is because they are complete time and energy vacuums. Parents today strive so hard to please and tend to their children, that there is very little, if any, time left to recharge themselves. Having 30 minutes after your kids are in bed to do laundry and talk to your spouse, just isn't enough to be considered a break. On the flip side, you are protective and then begin feeling guilty about being so overwhelmed with irritation because your children will not stop talking, or banging on the floor with their hot wheels. You aren't alone, and one of the things that sets parents apart from children is that while they are human, they can do super human things – such as learn to tune out from life when it gets too much.

It is a misconception that adults are meant to spend every waking second with their child. If you are one of the parents who do this, then you are setting yourself up to be sent to the loony bin. Plus, your children really don't want you around all the time either. They get tired of parents constantly correcting them, showing them how to properly hold a crayon, and reminding them to eat nachos with a fork. As retaliation for their annoyance with you, they become fussy and ill willed. In other words, they do things like sing constantly, draw on the walls, ask a million questions, sulk, throw fits, stomp up and down, back talk, sleep all day, make messes and act indignant just to get YOU away from THEM. Sadly, this never works. As soon as parents see this behavior, they are not only working on their last nerve – but they also feel compelled to interact, intervene and intercept any negative thing their child might or must be feeling. And so the circle continues.

Sure, you are a parent. But you are also a person. You have interests that no 2 or 12 year old can possibly fulfill (at least we hope not). The umbilical cord was cut the day they were born and ever since then – they have been growing further and further away from you. Not only do your children want you to find things to do that have nothing to do with them – you have to seek out outside passions and desires of the adult type, in order to endure the madness that is being a parent. This break, no matter how short lived, will give you that happy place in your mind where you can go each time your children are on the verge of breaking the camel's back.

Parents and children really do go together. However, they go together better, when both parties learn to separate at times. This doesn't mean that you love your child less, or that your child loves you less. What it does mean is that both parent and child trust one another, respect one another, and feel confident in their familial roles. It also means that you are a good parent, who puts yourself first because you realize that if you aren't rejuvenated, refreshed and de-stressed – you can never be the kind of parent you really want to. Still, your children will drive you crazy. As much as we want them to be an extension of ourselves, it turns out most often that they aren't. And for many reasons this is a good thing!

Marriage is not the easiest institution on Earth. If it were just you and your spouse locked away on some dessert island where there were no bills or other responsibilities to worry about than probably the marriage would last forever. It might get boring, but you wouldn't have a choice - but to stick it out or spend your lifetime talking to apes. In the real world things aren't so cut and dry and many people wake up one day to find themselves in a marriage that no longer adds any substance to their life. Worst case scenario, you would rather talk to apes!

Part of the blame for ending up in a failed marriage is your own immaturity. Before you set up house, have a hundred kids and worry about cutting grass and doing laundry you never imagine that such little things could get in the middle of that special love you feel. You are hopelessly optimistic and even though others might tell you to take your time or be careful, you won't listen. You rush in, rush down the aisle and hurry to the first place that will make you feel like an adult. Then you realize it isn't all its cracked up to be and that you are stuck with someone who doesn't know how to make a bed, won't make love to you and who would rather watch TV than go out. Then the bills come, the ones that pile up as a result of having to have everything grown up without really wanting to work for it. The kids come too and then you realize how you and your honey are so opposite it's a wonder you ever got along to begin with. Basically, it's difficult to prepare for something when you don't know (or want to know) what to expect. Before you get married to someone you have no real idea how they feel about certain ingrained things like housework or raising children and aren't privy to all their bad habits that resulted from years of being raised by a family aside from your own.

When a marriage goes bad it can be terrifying. Many people are just afraid to admit the failure of the situation and stay so they don't have to hear I told you so. Others are committed monetarily and just feel stuck. Plenty others sort of know things are great but just keep hanging in there hoping that it will get better one day. Then it doesn't. Marriage is one of those things that take constant attention and coddling. Drop the ball for one minute and suddenly the roof is caving in. Have one argument over who makes better coffee and you will unleash a world of criticism upon each other as a result of pent up frustration. Then what?

What comes next depends on your own beliefs about marriage as well as the real partnership that you and your partner have. If you want to work through it and your spouse doesn't seem inertest you might as well spend your days banging your head against the wall. There are some couples who through thick and thin seem to be able to work things out and get over the hump by communicating with clarity that makes the stars jealous. Others hold it all in until they are so hurt and resentful there is no way they can find their back to that place where they love each other. While depressing and a bit of a letdown, you have plenty of life left ahead of you and wasting your time is a pitiful way to spend your time. "But we love each other" is a worthless excuse for staying in a marriage if there are no means of communication between the two of you. No matter how much love exists, it won't work. You will wake up at 40 one day with the epiphany that you have just wasted a decade of your life.

None of this sounds that optimistic. The raw truth is that marriage changes as constantly and often as the seasons. The people who make it are the ones who can roll with the punches and let go of their dreams that Groundhog Day is a definite that spring is around the corner. You have to work at it and you have to be committed to the idea of marriage and the good things about your spouse in order to get through tough times. That same son of a gun you married is the one that just a few years ago you were defending to every one who told you he or she was worthless. If you can reach deep inside back to that spot, you will be able to grow up together and change your expectations thus changing your married life. If you can't, then you have to chalk up the experience to a bad decision and learn from it.

The other thing many young couples don't realize is that marriage can go bad one day and be beautiful again the next. There isn't always instant gratification when it comes to marriage. But a bad marriage isn't the end of the world. Far too many over dramatize the fact that getting out is the best option and end up dragging around baggage and unhappiness for decades. Greener pastures are always ahead when you look at things from a mature point of view or realize that while time may change some things it often doesn't change people. If the marriage is bad and your life is unhappy, take responsibility, rebuke what others think and do what is right and best for your sanity, your family and your wellbeing. When you know better, you will do better.

At some point, your children will feel like they are too old to trick or treat. Even more complicated is that while they may not want to visit house to house collecting enough candy to last an entire year, they are probably somewhat disappointed about their own decision. As a parent, you see your child – even at 11 or 12 years old, almost as tall as you are, and have to wonder if it's really time to hang up the princess costumes - or if your child could get away with it for another year. And if your child does want to trick or treat, chances are you feel somewhat embarrassed by it and might try to get them to hand out candy to children instead.

The end to trick or treating for Halloween is almost as heart breaking as the end to believing in the Tooth Fairy. And if you have younger children in your home, the older sibling's disbelief makes it even more difficult to keep up the facades. Is it worth pushing them to dress up one more year, or should you accept their solemn resignation to childish things as the end? The truth is there aren't any written rules about Halloween (surprisingly so) that dictate children over the age of 'whatever age' are no longer allowed to carry pillow sacks and hunt for candy. And plenty of adults use the holiday to be as childish as possible. The reason is because its fun. Just because your child is approaching teen hood and may look ridiculous dressed up as a Power Ranger, doesn't mean they are no longer a child. If you sense they want to partake in the festivities of the night – try not to discourage them. The fancies of being child end soon enough and you would do well to preserve whichever ones you can.

Sure, neighbors might not take kindly to these young adults capering to their home on Halloween and stealing candy that is meant for toddlers and elementary school students. Yet who is to say that just because a child reaches a certain age, or certain size means they should no longer be allowed to enjoy childish things. It is sort of warped that most adults giving out candy find pleasure in cuteness in toddlers at the door escorted by parents who encourage them to say thank you; but feel irritated once these same children get older. If your child wants to trick or treat, to collect candy and enjoy the festivities of the night – then you should let them.

Often, older kids are blamed for ruining the night for the littles. They are the ones accused of smashing the pumpkins after midnight and wreaking havoc in the neighborhood. Some parents are frightened that the older children will harm or scare their smaller children. All of this is hogwash. There are plenty of good kids who just want to remain kids for longer than society will allow them to. Quite frankly, there is nothing wrong with that. As a general rule, the older children should go a little later in the evening. Most parents with young children tend to take the kids before it is completely dark outside. This way the two generations of children will have some separation and all around, the kids will be allowed to be kids.

Given the choice on Halloween night of having your 11 year old trick or treat around the neighborhood in a costume or attend a Middle School Party – most parents would choose the harmless plight of trick or treating. Heck, your children may even be happy for you to escort them through the neighborhood (unseen of course). If you have older and younger children, allow the older kids to be in charge of their smaller siblings so that they can enjoy the night without feeling embarrassed or ashamed. Then, when the candy is collected and you have checked it all to make sure it isn't poisoned – you can take yet another Halloween picture, complete with your whole family dressed up and smiling. As you look back on it, you will be glad you took this last opportunity to allow your child to trick or treat – because chances are next year, you won't have the same option.

Did you know that as high as 46% of all children today are overweight or obese? According to the Center for Disease Control, children today are aging at rapid speeds and experiencing illnesses and diagnoses that have normally been saved for much older adults. The reason is because as a whole – society is exercising less. In a way, it is ironic that even though you see a gym on nearly every strip mall corner- more people than ever are in poor health. If you are a raising a family, it is important in numerous ways to ensure that you and your children are getting plenty of fresh air and exercise. Daily!

Many people blame this couch potato society on technology and things like video games. Today, we can do virtually anything without leaving the sofa. Television has definitely made it easier to stay home and planted on the couch as well. If you can sit down for an hour just to watch a bunch of people try to lose weight on one of the new reality shows, then obviously there is a problem. Unfortunately, this excuse really isn't a good one. The trick if finding balance between your responsibilities and your health and making the decision that your health and the health of your children is a priority.

First of all, exercise should be fun. Far too many people hear the word exercise and experience nervous tension and dread. If you told your children they had to go running for an hour every day, they would meet the task with resentment. But exercise doesn't have to be anything planned or routine. You don't have to own any exercise equipment or buy some fancy DVD's to teach you how. Exercise can be done sitting in your living room floor, walking around your house and doing tons of things that are fun as a family together. Set up a volleyball net, a basketball goal or go for a weekend hike together. Not only do these things not cost any money, but also they are fun and get every member of the family up and moving. When you plan activities that match you and your children's interests in the great outdoors, you get exercise while enjoying yourself.

The more you and your kids get up and moving, the better you will feel. Trainers caution people from enrolling in a gym or exercise class on a whim. Rather they suggest that you make one change a week that your family can live with. Stop buying sodas. Or gather everyone for an evening walk after dinner before everyone reverts to his or her computers or cell phones. What comes next can make exercising and keeping your family healthy much easier. The domino effect of feeling great will give you the initiative to be even more creative finding exercise ideas for your family. When you do it together – each of you has a much better chance of sticking with the changes for life.

Kids who grow up active and are encouraged to get outside and play – are remarkably healthier than their lackadaisical counterparts are. However, it has to start with the parents. If mom and dad are lazy, satisfied doing nothing and packing on the weight – chances are your children will follow suit. After all, it is easier. On the flip side – if you invoke a respect for the human body and the benefits of exercise and nutrition, your children too will follow suit. Start an exercise program base don things you can do around the home. As your family starts exercising more regularly – you can add things like a gym membership or exercise class if you wish. When exercise becomes fun instead of work – the health of your entire family can change.

The American Academy of Pediatrics in a published report concluded that childhood obesity and malnutrition are on the rise. As a result incidences of diseases like diabetes, heart disease and juvenile rheumatoid arthritis are on the rise. More children are being seen for these disorders now than ever before. In the 1940's overweight children made up a sheer 13% of the population whereas today the numbers are pushing 50%. Of these children who are overweight, 12% are obese and another 7% are at risk for obesity. During a time when we know so much about good nutrition, have a wealth of information at our fingertips and more regular doctor check-ups than ever why are our children suffering from what essentially is a lack of good nutrition.

The days of coming home from school and playing in the backyard are long gone. Kids are either in daycares or are involved in so many extra curricular activities that they don't get the time they need to just play and exercise. Additionally, busy lifestyles have more than half of elementary school kids skipping breakfast and bringing prepackaged foods to school for snacks. Even though school lunch menus have become closely monitored by the Department of Agriculture, this one wholesome meal is not enough to balance out a child's nutrition.

Many critics blame the fast food phenomena as the reason why nutritional values have failed so miserably. While more families are eating out and catching a bite on the road than ever before, there is no way that one can place blame. The bottom line is every family has choice and with so many healthy options now being served at fast food restaurants it takes more than knowledge to persuade people to choose the apples over the fries.

The other problem is that with the influx of so much information, even smart people have lost their way when it comes to nutrition. They are confused about carbohydrates and proteins, good fats and bad and are choosing processed foods and fake sugars over natural ingredients. The habits of convenience and lack of knowledge can be difficult to break. Leading nutritionists have tried to help by offering limited information for people and simple rules to follow that will help them make a turn in the right nutritional direction. If you can follow these simple rules for one month straight, you will be on the road to better nutrition.

    1. Drink water! And plenty of it. Forego sodas and other caffeinated highly sugared drinks that only add empty calories to your diet. Water is in.

    2. Eat 5 times a day. Start with breakfast, lunch and dinner and then add just two healthy snacks through out your day. This balances out sugars, stops cravings and keeps your metabolism working.

    3. Keep portion sizes no bigger than your fist. As you learn to eat smaller amounts, smaller amounts will begin to satisfy you.

    4. Replace your normal carbohydrate foods with whole grain or whole wheat foods.

    5. If any of the first four ingredients in any food you choose is hydrogenated fat, high fructose corn syrup, sodium or sugar – DON'T EAT IT! This means they are in high content and none of them are good for you.

    6. Take a multi-vitamin but try to get your vitamins, nutrients and minerals from food first.

    7. Eat more fruit and vegetables than anything else. Natural foods are best.

    8. Eat out only once a week.

    9. Exercise every day. This can be a brisk walk around the mall or cleaning the house in high gear to upbeat music. Make exercise fun and a family affair.

    10. Don't buy snacks and junk food thinking you will moderate it. You won't. Not only will you save money but you won't get that immediate fix right before bed.

    11. Don't eat at least two hours before bedtime.

    12. Last but certainly not least – before you eat anything…think garbage in and garbage out. And forget diets. They just set you up to fail.

These simple rules don't take a degree in nutrition to understand. In fact, they are pretty simple and straight forward. Most of you already know this stuff but because of lack of energy or willpower you make choices that go against good nutrition. The problem is that as you get older and as you raise a family, nutrition is as important as life insurance or heat in the wintertime. It keeps you going. It doesn't make sense that more people take better care of their cars than they do their own health. You wouldn't fill your tank with sludgy gas yet you are willing to consume foods that will clog your arteries, cause you to gain weight and put you at heightened risk for diseases. Don't pass this on to your family. Begin instituting rules of simple, good nutrition and in no time you will feel better and be visiting the doctor less.

    *********************** ARTICLE START ***********************

Interestingly, there are an increasing number of single women and men, who are single by choice. Today, approximately 50% of the adult population is single. And while many would like to find someone to grow old with – they don't necessarily want to get married. The biggest change in demographics of single by choice adults is in the population of females over the age of 33.

One reason that sociologists believe that more women are single by choice in this day and age is because it has become more socially acceptable for women to not get married. Years ago, the fruit of a successful life included marriage for women. Additionally, women today feel more empowered to have children without a husband and often have the means to do so. So while years ago, if a woman wanted children she sought out a husband, today not so much.

Perhaps the biggest reason that women today are confident and comfortable holding on to their single status is because they are more educated and successful professionally today, than they were just ten years ago. One recent study showed that in 2010, there were more women graduating major colleges with degrees than there were men. And over the past two decades, workplace equity in terms of salaries and benefits have equaled out as well. This means that women are fully able to take care of themselves and often put their professional pursuits above those of the heart.

A new generation of men and women are in fact enjoying coupled relationships without tying the marital knot. Approximately 33% of all unmarried adults living are with an adult companion without a wedding ring. For these couples, the autonomy and freedom that comes from not being married works for them. Plus, they feel that without the marital commitment the relationship is more clear and well defined and they are able to hold on to their own happiness as well. Couples who do not get married, often feel that they have more time to focus on their own lives, and do not become tangled in the stress that often comes from the marital arrangement.

Additionally, men and women as a general rule feel that not being married gives them more control over their own lives and that they don't become so quickly enrooted in gender roles that often present themselves after the vows are said.

Plus, people who have been married and divorced, realize just how hard a marriage is. For this population of divorcees, the idea of marrying again is frightening and unwarranted. These adults are well aware of the statistics that give them little more than a fighting chance to stay married in the long term and choose to stay single.

If you are thinking about getting married, there certainly is a lot to consider. Most people, make the choice by thinking of love first and foremost. However, there are other things to consider. A marriage may start with two people but rarely stays about those two people. In fact, by marrying someone you make a decision to become attached to extended family members, and to take part in idealisms about marriage that may not present themselves until the "I do's," are spoken. There are also considerations of financial resources to consider as well. Do you really want to take on the debt from a partner, or begin splitting expenses, especially if you make substantially more money than the person that you are dating? And what happens when you have children? It is no longer entirely up to you how you will take care of them and what choices you make for them.

Evident by statistics is the fact that the world is changing as it pertains to marriage and family. And even more proven is that it no longer takes a marriage to make a happy adult. In fact, many reports indicate that adults who remain single, albeit in relationships with significant others – actually experience more happiness and self-fulfillment than those that do not. More and more people today are able to answer the question of whether they should get married or not without being tied down to moral based value systems that for decades discredited those that were single. And for many people, the choice is to stay single longer, if not forever.

Some time during pregnancy, it will occur to you. Soon you will have to leave your professional life behind for a few weeks or months in order to raise your baby. Up until the moment it happens, you honestly have no idea how you are going to handle the situation. Many moms strongly defy inklings that there is even a slim chance they will join the some 5.1 million moms who stay at home with their children. And yet, you may find that leaving your baby – after so many long months of pregnancy and then delivery, is the hardest thing you have ever done. But do you really have to choose?

Having a career is difficult enough. Add a baby to the mix, and you will find that you are often torn between your child's needs and the needs of your employer. High profile meetings will be cancelled for fevers or vomiting; and childcare – no matter how great, is often unpredictable. The good news is that you are having your baby during a time in life when it can be easier than ever to have the best of both worlds. Exploring your options as a stay at home, work at home mom during pregnancy – may be a good idea.

The first place to look is your current employer. How much of your job could you do from home? Would there be any costs involved in your employer setting you up from home. Even more important, if given the opportunity to telecommute and be a work at home mom – what are you willing to give up? The reason this is an important consideration is because during difficult economic times like these, what you are willing to give up, can be a great bargaining chip in your corner. Obviously, if your job is in on floor sales or marketing – then the location of your job is a pre-requisite for success. However, for many women who work in an office setting, they are often telecommuting with clients anyways.

Talk to your employer about the possibilities. Arm yourself with a pro and con list that you can bring to them and be prepared to answer some questions about how you will balance and manage your time at home. Look into company policies. In many companies, even large ones – there aren't any precedents set about working from home that would eliminate the opportunity immediately. Also, if you have a management position or one of power, outline precisely how you plan to maintain your work quality even if you are not in the office all the time.

A benefit to having this discussion around the 25th week of pregnancy is that it gives you plenty of time to hammer out the details. Plus, if you find that you are put on bed rest or are taken a leave of absence prior to delivery, you can implement your ideas as a trial run. This way you can see if and where problems will be – and have time to develop amicable solutions. Plus, it shows your employer that you are committed to the company and want to find ways to remain an asset to them without compromising clients or your employment status.

If they are against it, you can also begin considering part time options. You might be surprised how many employers will bite onto this idea, knowing that they can pay you less and take away some of your benefits. Obviously, this only works well if you have other avenues for healthcare insurance.

Thinking about being a work at home stay at home mom during pregnancy – will at least allow you to be prepared for what is about to come. There are millions of women just like you who are committed and confident that they would never give up their career or job in order to stay at home and take care of the children. And there are millions who realize in those moments right after birth, that they don't want to leave their baby so quickly. At least if this happens to you – you will be walking on a bridge that you have already crossed and are prepared for what comes next.

On the flip side, if you don't have the job of your dreams and are anxious to give it up in lieu of taking care of your baby – pregnancy is the perfect time to begin setting goals and researching your stay at home working mom options. Perhaps it will be just the motivation you need to start up that cupcake business, begin freelancing your services or go back to school to hone some of your occupational skills.

With marriage comes the reality of living with the same person day in and day out. After a few years, some kids and bunch of mortgage payments things get boring to say the least. And why not? Suddenly you know each other's deepest idiosyncrasies that were grounds for them being single for so long before you married them. With that complacency and comfort comes a change in the levels of intimacy that couples experience. Some couples (rare or lying) say that their sex life is always in high gear and despite familial obligations and pure exhaustion, are able to make love 4-5 times per week. For the rest of us, these numbers can dwindle as low as 4-5 times per month – or even a month or two without any sex at all.

Being romantic with someone definitely takes work. You can't be angry at each other over little things around the house, come in from a long day working or be extremely stressed out and just instantly switch hats. What lacks in many marriages is the pre-intimacy that leads to sex and makes it feel passionate and loving. For instance, if your husband gave you a pot for your 40th birthday even though you hate to cook and then tries to cook something up in the bedroom later you may feel resentful. After all, why should you make love to someone who thinks of you as nothing more than a cook? In his defense, he probably thought you would love the pot because it was expensive and was something you wouldn't buy for yourself. Suddenly, not having sex on your birthday leads to a few weeks of the two of you being angry at one another.

As we maintain our partnerships with our spouses, it is easy to forget how to be romantic. Men are not the only ones who do this. In fact, as couple hood and marriage progress the two of you probably think less of just each other than you used to. You may have always spent a great deal of time picking out lingerie only to find comfort in granny panties now. He may have brought you flowers for no apparent reason or cooked your breakfast in bed – and now feels he doesn't have to. The truth is that the two of you have become comfortable in not going out of your way to please each other. You probably spend more time at work, with the kids or pleasing other people. At some point however, both husband and wife will feel neglected and hurt.

It may not be that either of you have lost that loving feeling or have no interest in being intimate together – just that you have forgotten how. It is pretty common for couples to go through the motions of marriage and family only to find themselves sort of virginal about how to get things back on track. The trick is to realize that both of you miss each other in this way and to do something about it. If you have to bump teeth to learn how to kiss one another again, then do it. In addition to that, it is important to keep sight of that person you used to date. When you can see your husband or wife of 10 years as the wild and crazy person they used to be – you can ignite your own passion and romance. Sure, people change in crazy ways when they are married. Yet – there are still some basics about the two of you that brought you together in the first place.

The other thing you must realize is that it is normal, healthy, and expected for romance in marriages to ebb and flow. You would never be able to maintain the thrilling adrenaline rush that comes when a relationship was new. You shouldn't feel like your marriage is a failure or assume that your spouse no longer loves or cares about you. Instead, commit to talking about things and making time to be together – no matter what is going on in your life.

For parents crossing the threshold from diapers into using the potty – the change is a welcome one. It is as if your child has left babyhood behind and is suddenly a big boy or girl, ready to start preschool and take on all life has to offer. But for so many parents – potty training doesn't come easy. They are haunted by stories from other parents who claim their child was trained long before they turned 2, or who learned to use the potty in just a few days time. Here you are, working on potty training for 6 months and still having to buy and change diapers. This brings to light the fact that no two children are alike – and there is no one way to do things when it comes to raising children.

If your child is having difficulty potty training (has been a month or longer) then you may want to take a break for a while. Some kids just aren't ready to give it up. These children are usually high energy and quite simply, don't want to take the time out to use the potty. Even begging and pleading, offering them rewards or allowing them to pee on cheerios isn't incentive enough to make them stop playing legos or dolls. If you take a break when you realize it just isn't working, you will be able to calm down yourself and remove some of the stress from your child. Pediatricians suggest waiting a month and allowing your child to mature even just a little can make a huge difference in whether potty training is a success or not.

Another thing to consider if your child isn't an easy train – is how you are doing it. It is unrealistic to think that daycares or babysitters will have the same patience and diligence to task as you would. One idea that works for many parents is for them to take an entire week off from work for the potty training vacation. During this week – diapers are just not allowed (not even at bed) and you can let your child run around the house butt naked. You should ask them every 20 minutes whether they need to use the bathroom. If they say no – wait another 5 minutes and make them go with you. Most parents can see the signs on their toddlers face when they are holding it – if you notice it, rush them to the potty immediately. At nighttime, be careful to not allow them to have a lot to drink 2 hours before bed so they can empty their bladder completely. This takes a lot of effort, but normally proves successful. The motto for the week is all about big girl or boy underwear.

If you make a lot of progress during this week but still aren't all the way there – see if a relative or someone else can take over when you go back to work. This way they will have plenty of one on one attention and persistence.

Your child may work well off a reward chart. Putting an M&M or gumball machine in the bathroom (coin operated) and giving them a penny every time they go might be just enough creative incentive to get them in there.

The fundamental indicator of whether or not your children will potty train is their ability to recognize their signs that they need to go. Unfortunately, diapers are made so absorbent that children can be unable to match urgency with the result. For this reason, allowing your child to wear cloth diapers or underwear a week or two before potty training all out, can give them a great head start. If you aren't ready to wash sheets every morning, then using a pull-up at night and only at night is definitely acceptable.

Realize that for some children, potty training is about growing up. They may want to be a baby. Remember that your child, just a few months ago was probably held when they ate, rocked to sleep, massaged with lotion, and coddled to the fullest extent they would allow. Then suddenly, you decide that you want them to be a grown up. This can frighten a child. If this transition is made at the same time as starting school, having a little brother or sister or any other time of stress or illness – they can resist and will. Make sure you time your potty training at a time in your child's life when they are ready to accept that they are growing up.

Last but not least – realize that your child WILL potty train. Maybe not as soon as you like, but nonetheless they won't be wearing diapers to the 5th grade. Try not to shame, blame, or guilt your child into potty training and see the ordeal as one that is transitional and takes time. Beyond that – close your ears when other parents talk about their child potty training as if they are chastising you for being a bad parent. Your child is his or her own person and will no doubt do all things in his or her own time.

Article Title: Lowering the Monthly Grocery Bill

    *********************** ARTICLE START ***********************

Do you ever wonder how in the world you spend so much on groceries? If so, you are not alone. Each day millions of people just like you are scouring the internet for tips and tricks to lowering the monthly grocery bill. Groceries are astronomical and there is one sure fire way to achieve this that is almost too simple to be true! But it is!

The trick is to NEED LESS. When you grocery shop you are actually being subjected to so many subliminal sales messages and marketing pressures that you spend more actually believing you saved money some how. Buy one get one free, bulk loads of food that are cheaper and sales or coupons, end cap impulse buys and new or special deals are everywhere. They are hard to resist because they are capitalizing on your desire to save money but in the long run you are actually spending more. If you go to the grocery store, armed with a list of items that you actually need and commit to it, you can easily feed a family of 4 for much less than you spend now.

The other thing that costs tons of money is the convenience factor. Packaged foods, perfect for sending to school with the kids are up to ten times more per unit price than a whole bag of off brand chips and some Ziploc baggies. It might not be as easy, but the extra 60 seconds it takes to pack up some goodies for a kid's lunch can be worth hundreds of dollars spread out over a year's time. The same goes for meal deals that make dinnertime a snap. They might be easier, but you are paying for those easy to open cans and bags nutritionally and otherwise.

Another way to lower your grocery bill is to idealize a per meal budget. If you decide that spending $10 a day on food for your family is enough then try to shop when you have some extra time to make that so. You may find that tuna sandwiches for lunch and some chicken drumsticks with macaroni and cheese for dinner can cost much less. If you spend too much per meal you are essentially spending just as much as it takes to eat out three times a day. When you consider $10 a day for food, that means it is only costing about two and half bucks per person to eat for an entire day (based on a family of 4). That isn't really that expensive.

Coupons can also save a heap of money. More than likely you have tried all the grocery shopping sites that help you to get groceries for free when you mix coupons with sales and rebates, but you don't even have to do that. Clipping coupons, scanning ads and timing your shopping to a tee can be time consuming and your time is money as well. Just be sure that when you clip a coupon it is for an item you really need, already like or prefer to have in your pantry. Often coupons are available on items that are overstocked or that aren't moving through the stores well hoping people will be excited by the thought of getting a dollar off. Additionally, many grocery stores actually raise the price of something before it goes on sale or before a coupon comes out. If you clip the coupon for items you use everyday anyways you will at least know that your dollar has been saved. If possible shop during times that offer double coupons.

Another way to save money is to be frugal when it comes to meats. Realize that just because something is cheaper per pound doesn't mean it will cost you less. Likely the grease or bones will cause you to need twice as much in order to make a meal. It is better to pay ten to twenty cents more per pound for healthy, lean means that won't disappear into a pile of grease. Additionally, if you can hit grocery stores early in the morning, many of the meats that are about to past date are available and can be had for half the cost. When it comes to meats you can spend a lot of money and shopping around from store to store and watching ads is important. If you can stock up on these staple items when they are on sale buying an extra freezer will eventually pay for itself.

The last bit of advice is to reevaluate your needs versus wants. What is really important to you? Would you rather have name brand shampoo or laundry detergent or can you curve spending in these areas to accommodate otherwise. Do you really need 20 cans of soup that will take up space in the cabinets and will your family really eat a 30 pound bag of potatoes before they sprout roots. So much of what you buy is probably wasted which is just as good as throwing money in the trash. While having a stocked fridge and pantry feels good, it really is unnecessary. When many of us shop thinking we need something the reality is we have plenty of food around the house to prepare some creative and well balanced meals for our family. Wanting things and needing things are not the same and lowering the monthly grocery bill can be as simple as taking inventory on your emotional spending while at the grocery store.

    *********************** ARTICLE START ***********************

You're no doubt familiar with traditional Western ways of treating your dog's ailments. Most of us take our dog straight to the vet when there's a problem. This works for a lot of problems. The vet looks at your dog, performs some tests and prescribes a medication to counter what's happening. Many times your dog gets better.

However, there are other treatment methods that think outside the box, at least by Western standards. Many of these alternative therapies are based on Eastern philosophy or Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). This approach to medicine is much older than science-based Western medicine and it also works, at least according to the millions of people who use it.

Acupuncture has been used for more than two thousand years. It's the practice of inserting and manipulating small-gauge needles into various places in the body to treat various diseases and conditions. It's often used to treat pain. Acupuncture is used in Traditional Chinese Medicine to treat whole-body conditions and help with someone's overall health.

Acupuncture is used in veterinary medicine today by many mainstream veterinarians. Worldwide, it's estimated that some 150,000 vets are trained in acupuncture. If your dog is experiencing pain, especially related to his mobility, then it's possible your vet could recommend treatment with acupuncture.

Aromatherapy is also used to treat dogs. It depends on the sense of smell and touch and uses essential oils. These oils have been reduced from the "essence" of the original plant or flower and captured for therapeutic use.

Essential oils serve many purposes. They can be antiseptic in some cases. They may be detoxifying or revitalizing or have other claims. Depending on the essential oil you use, you can help your dog with skin problems, calm your dog, help him to sleep, boost his energy, and so on. Aromatherapy is often used to calm dogs during thunderstorms or to help dogs that are upset during other traumatic events.

Another alternative therapy is homeopathy. Homeopathy is quite different from typical Western medicine. Instead of trying to counteract an illness, homeopathy relies on the approach that "like cures like." You "go with the flow," so to speak. If your dog has diarrhea, for example, you would treat him by giving him something, in small amounts, that causes diarrhea.

With homeopathy the practitioner is trying to encourage the body to heal itself by provoking a response. Homeopathy tries to stimulate the body to make a healing response to an ailment. The initial response to homeopathy may be to cause symptoms that are similar to what the body is already showing. Then the body will "kick in" and heal itself.

Homeopathy may sound a little suspicious but the things used to cause a homeopathic response are usually highly diluted. These remedies have usually lost any toxicity, though they are able to provoke a response from the body. However, homeopathy is often discussed because many homeopaths oppose vaccinations. Some veterinarians today are trained in both Western and homeopathic medicine. There are said to be over 2000 different homeopathic remedies.

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) uses a combination of herbs, acupuncture and massage. TCM can be particularly helpful for senior dogs, especially if Western drugs would have serious side effects.

TCM can be used to treat dogs who have arthritis and mobility problems. The combination of acupuncture and massage, especially, has been found to be very beneficial for many elderly dogs. A practitioner of TCM will probably also want to talk to you about making changes to your dog's diet. Some supplements, such as glucosamine and chondroitin, work well with TCM. However, a practitioner of TCM will probably discourage the use of Western pain medication such as Rimadyl and Deramaxx. He or she may, instead, recommend the use of Chinese herbs for your dog's pain.

TCM has also been shown to help dogs with allergies and even dogs with cancer.

Massage therapy is another popular alternative therapy for dogs today. There are several forms of massage therapy ranging from the light massage you can give your dog at home to deep tissue massage that should only be given to a dog by someone trained. Deep tissue massage can cause damage if it is applied incorrectly. Massage therapy is particularly helpful to dogs who are experiencing pain, stress and fatigue. However, massage therapy has also been used to reduce blood pressure, reduce the formation of scar tissue, help dogs with arthritis, stimulate liver and kidney functions, improve blood circulation, and improve skin and coat. Plus, massage typically reduces a dog's anxiety.

It's worth learning how to lightly massage your dog yourself. If you would like to find someone to massage your dog professionally it's a good idea to look for someone who is certified in dog or animal massage so your dog won't be accidentally injured.

There are many other forms of alternative therapies that are used to treat dogs these days. If you hear about something and it sounds interesting or if you think your dog might benefit from it, do some research and see if it might help. Western medicine does help most dogs but there is no reason why elements of other therapies can't be incorporated into your dog's treatment if they might help.

London is a fantastic city to visit for tourists because there's a plethora of activities you'll find there. If you're spending more than a week in London, you may want to venture out of the city to find other things to do. Outside London, you'll find amazing and historical landmarks just like you did inside the city. This article contains four must see landmarks while you're in England. Each are within driving distance from London. You can also take public transportation from London to each site and make it back to London all in the same day. On your next trip to London, make sure to visit Salisbury Cathedral, Windsor Castle, Stonehenge, and the Roman Baths.

See the Magna Carta at Salisbury Cathedral

Salisbury Cathedral was constructed in 1220 AD with a Early English style architecture. It has the tallest church spire in the United Kingdom, being 404 feet tall. Tourists can walk up the spire for a fantastic view around the city. Salisbury Cathedral owns the world's oldest working clock, which has worked since 1386 AD. Although the cathedral itself makes for a fine visit, most tourists come here to see the Magna Carta.

The cathedral has one of the four original copies of the Magna Carta. In fact, its copy of the Great Charter of the Liberties of England is considered the best condition of the four surviving copies. The Magna Carta was written in 1215 AD and acted as a charter which required King John of England to obey a set of laws instead of acting arbitrarily on his own will. The Magna Carta was an important step that led modern law and republics.

Salisbury Cathedral is about 90 miles away from London or a two hour drive. It's also reachable via public transportation. Take the train to Exeter St Davids, where it's only a 15 minute walk to the cathedral.

Take a photo with the Queen's Guard at Windsor Castle

Built in the 11th century, Windsor Castle was created to be a fort and home. A trip to Windsor Castle should 4 to 5 hours, not including the time it takes to get to the castle from London. One of the main attractions in the castle is Queen Mary's Dollhouse, a large collection of dolls, miniature furniture, and scaled down rooms. The Queen's Guards are available for photos, but don't get too close to them or they'll scream at you to step away. The castle is reachable by taking a bus from the Victoria Coach Station. The castle is located in the city of Windsor, which is reachable via the Windsor and Eton Riverside train station. Simply hop onto a train in London. Windsor Castle is currently used as the royal family's vacation home when they're not at Buckingham palace.

    Admire the mysterious Stonehenge

Stonehenge is a prehistoric monument built from gigantic stones. Historians know that the architecture of Stonehenge isn't a coincidence because the stones aligns with the midsummer sunrises and sunsets. If you plan your visit to London during the Summer or Winter solstice, you'll run into the Summer or Winter solstice festivals. Both are fun events with travelers from all around the world attending.

The origins of Stonehenge are unknown. We can estimate that it was constructed sometime between 3000 BC to 2000 BC. We don't know why or how it was constructed. Walking around Stonehenge requires a small admission fee, which comes with an audio guide. The guide has more theories about its origins and its history. Stonehenge is likely the oldest site you'll visit during your trip, if not the oldest site you'll ever encounter.

To get to Stonehenge, simply take the train to Salisbury from which you can take a local bus for 10 miles or grab a cab. Stonehenge is a two hour drive from London.

Learn about the historical significance of the Roman Baths

The Roman Baths structure was constructed over hot springs which formed by rain fall from the Mendip Hills. The water sitting in the baths is actually very dirty. Current tour operators have a stand with salted and cured water, which is safe to drink or take home as a memento. Tourists are welcome to walk around and take photos of this landmark. Long ago, travelers from all around world would seek to cure their illnesses. It was said that blind men could see after taking a dip in the Roman Baths. The Roman Bath house is over 2,000 years old. The Roman Baths is reachable via bus from the Victoria Coach Station.

Perhaps one of the best parts of London is its collection of free museums. It's practically a dream come true for budget tourists, especially for budget tourists who enjoy art and history museums. If you visit a museum's and really enjoy its collection, feel free to leave a donation. Donations are how these museums stay alive since they require a lot of maintenance and work. There are plenty of museums to select from. Here's a guide on the top free museums in London.

The Science Museum is a publicly funded museum with a permanent collection of over 300,000 items portraying natural science, engineering, and technology. Popular items include rockets, the oldest steam locomotive, and the first jet engine. It's an ideal museum for anyone who enjoys learning about science and technology. Many of its exhibits are highly interactive, so it's also a great place to families with children.

The National Maritime Museum's collection specializes on items relating to the sea, navigation, and ships. The museum is partially constructed over the Royal Observatory. The National Maritime Museum is the biggest museum in the world that focuses on ships and water travel.

The Tate Modern Museum is the most visited modern art museum in the world when ranked by number of annual visits. The permanent collection is completely free for viewing, but the rotating exhibits require an entrance fee. There are 7 stories of modern art, half of which is free to see. The Tate Modern Museum is focused on international modern art from the early 1900s.

At the Museum of London, visitors will learn about the Roman roots of London, Medieval London, London's residents, and its social upbringings. The Museum of London was established in 1976. Museum of London is a history museum that teaches about the settlement of London from prehistoric times to the present. It's great for anyone interested in history, especially while you're in London.

At the V&A Museum, visitors will find items such as costumes, ceramics, jewelry, furniture, drawings, and photographs. V&A Museum, or the Victoria and Albert Museum, is the world's largest decorative design museum with over 4 million pieces. There are a total of 145 galleries at the V&A Museum, which covers European, North American, African, and Asian cultures.

Natural History Museum is another great science museum in London. Its exhibits are split into five departments: plants, insects, minerals, dinosaurs, and the animal kingdom. At the Natural History Museum, visitors will find blue whale models, giant dinosaur skeletons, and much more. The Natural History Museum was founded in 1881 and even holds specimens collected by Sir Charles Darwin.

It gets very crowded at the British Museum, to the point where moving around in an exhibition room will be very hard to do. The British Museum's goal is to collect and display the artifacts of cultures around the world from ancient history to the present. I advise all visitors to arrive to the museum early, ideally when it opens or soon after. Famous items at the British Museum includes the Rosetta Stone and the Beowulf manuscript. The British Museum is London's most popular museum ranked by number of annual visits.

The National Gallery was established in 1824 and is one of the world's top art galleries. It's the 4th most visited museum in the world and the most visited art museum of any kind in London. In the National Gallery, visitors will find works by Leonardo da Vinci and Vincent van Gogh. Its permanent collection contains over 2,000 art works from the 13th century to present time.

Article Title: Getting Ready For Vacation? Prepare Your Home's Security Too / Locked Out? Now What?

    *********************** ARTICLE START ***********************

Who doesn't like to go on vacation? When you get ready to go on a trip, even if it is only for a weekend, you plan ahead. You plan out what you will wear, where you will stay, but what do you do to prepare your home for your vacancy? Burglars love to take advantage of homes that are vacant while their owners are away on vacation. Therefore, when you make your list of preparation to-dos and what to pack, make sure to also make a list for increasing your home's security while you are gone.

    Stop All Deliveries

You do not need the mail or the newspaper to arrive while you are away. So call the postal service and your other local subscriptions and make sure that all deliveries are stopped while you are gone. Leaving a pile of newspapers or even mail in the mailbox is a clear indicator to potential robbers that you are not home.

    Trim the Shrubs

While you are getting the perfect hair cut for your trip, consider cutting down some shrubs outside. If you have bushes that are located just in front of windows to your home, cut them down to where a person cannot easily hide in them. Burglars have a tendency to hide behind shrubs and bushes while waiting to break into a home.

    Skip Social Media Updates

Though you are tempted to tell the world about your vacation or even keep them updated as you prepare, avoid announcing any vacation plans or time away from home on social media sites. Even though you know your friends and family well, you do not know who has access to their computers or their social media homepages.

    Talk to the Neighbors

Before you leave, tell your neighbors your vacation plans. Consider having a neighbor check on the property a few times while you are away to ensure that nothing has happened. Let the neighbors know to call the police immediately if anything happens or if they notice any unusual activity around your house.

Install Light Timers and Motion Detectors

The best way to deter a burglary is light. Have light timers installed inside your home that will automatically turn on and make it appear as though you are home. Use motion detection lights outside to help deter anyone from prowling around on your property as well as help notify the neighbors if someone has walked onto your yard.

    Locked Out? Now What?

No one likes to be locked out of their home or car. It makes a person feel vulnerable and unsecured. Though your first step should be to call a locksmith, you will also want to get a little creative and see if there is a way to enter your home or vehicle without having a service provider show up at your door.

    Be Creative

If you are locked out of your home, there might be a way to still get inside. If you have a gate, see if you can unlock it and gain entry to your house from the outside. Consider calling neighbors who have a spare key or even your spouse. If you have a spare key stored outside, make sure to use that before calling a locksmith. If your house keys were lost rather than locked inside, you will need to contact a locksmith regardless to have your locks re-keyed.

    Neighborhood Crime Watch

Though you might be tempted to climb in the window of your own home or even hop the fence, you might want to consider the neighborhood crime watch factor. If you do not know your neighbors, go over and let them know ahead of time that you are locked out and trying to get in. If you see a police officer driving by, make sure to flag them down and let them know you are locked out. This will help avoid any undue embarrassment or hassle because a neighbor thought they saw a burglar trying to enter your home.

    Call a Locksmith

If you are unable to gain access to your home, contact a locksmith in the area right away. Make sure the company you call is a local provider who can re-key your lock immediately. If you are calling after hours you will want to inquire about any emergency service fees as well as emergency re-keying fees. Since not all providers can duplicate a key on-site, they may have to charge extra to use a third-party service for making keys.

If you are trying to gain access to a car, make sure your car does not have an OnStar or other programmed service. Often these service providers can be contacted over the phone and can unlock your vehicle remotely. If you still need a locksmith to service your OnStar vehicle, make sure you contact the provider and let them know that a locksmith will be gaining access. This will prevent any alarms or law enforcement from being notified.

Fraternities and sororities are all about being one as a family that may not be bound by blood, but are bound by commitment, ideologies, experiences and relationships that are deeper than friendship. With this kind of bond, often, brothers and sisters of respective fraternity and sorority live to show off to the rest of the world that they belong to this particular group. One way to do this is creating Greek shirts to be worn proud by every member.

This type of apparel, often ordered in bulk, is one of the kinds of clothing that Custom Greek Threads makes. There are many options of designs for these shirts. There are those that are made for me, women and those made for either.

The classic cut of t-shirts and the V-neck cut are the most common and cheapest of the designs. But both may be customized to fit the preference of the client.

Customizing a shirt means choosing the size, color, letter to be printed on it, the foreground and background fabric and color, and the stitch type.

These t-shirts may be in small, medium, large or extra-large. There is also an option for up to triple extra-large, but for a minimal additional fee. For colors, there are at least 45 to choose from. For the foreground fabric, there are hundreds of options.

There are other options to make the look of these shirts more unique and personal. Other text and symbols may be added. And for an additional amount, a crest may also be incorporated.

Even with these specific options for specifications, a client may still provide for additional instructions. And as long as the ideas are feasible and doable, the request will be granted.

Often, when a person orders a Greek shirt, he would do so not only for himself, but for a group. This is actually a good thing because it will save the group more money if the order is in bulk.

For example, an order of these shirts for five people to eleven will give the client a discount. If he orders for around 25 to 36 people, then he can get a 15% discount off of the total amount that he has to pay for all the shirts. For at least 73 people, the client will get 30% percent.

These shirts are not only designed to be for men or to be unisex. There are also designs that are specially made for women. There is an American fitted tee, V-neck for girls, long sleeved, eater tank, and many more.

Among these cuts, the V-neck and the simple cut t-shirt are the cheapest. Among the most expensive are the long sleeved, polo and the one with a design of a heart made of Rhinestone on its front.

The cuts and designs of these shirts are not set on stones. If nothing seems to fit the taste of the fraternity boys or sorority girls, they can still have their orders customized. There are a lot of ways to make the shirt as unique as possible, some for free and some for an extra charge.

There are many ways to get rich using the internet. Look at Mark Zucherberg. He took a social networking idea and turned it into a billion dollar corporation. It's not likely this will happen with most people, however, there are ways to make a good amount of money online if you know what to look for.

Selling products online is a way people make money online. There isn't much money in it however, if you have no product to sell. People can also make money online doing freelance work. There are freelance jobs out there from writing to IT work. Any of these jobs will help you make money but there are only a few ways to get rich with an online business.

Being an independent associate of Talk Fusion is a great way to make excellent money fast. Talk Fusion is a multimedia service which provides services such as video email, video conferencing, live broadcasting, social networking, and video newsletters. This service is also available on your mobile phone. There are other services similar to this however, no other ones help you get rich creating your own online business. Talk Fusion offers immediate commission. They also offer several bonus programs. Independent associates can also earn a brand new Mercedes and luxury vacations. Where are you going to find perks like that online?

There are many success stories from independent associates from Talk Fusion. While there are other sites similar to Talk Fusion, none of them offer the rewards, payments, and bonuses that that Talk Fusion does.

Independent associates for Talk Fusion said that being associates have changed their lives. One man, a music composer, stated that after being an associate for talk fusion his life has changed. He is able to help his family and friends financially. He has been able to donate money to charities and has even put a music studio in his home which was his dream. Skype, a service similar to Talk Fusion, does not allow users to become independent associates and earn money while they are using a service that meets all of their multimedia needs.

It is pretty simple to use a service such as Skype. For some it is even convenient. It is also easy to make money uploading videos and photos. There are sites that offer up to $15.00 per 1000 photos uploaded. It is money but it is nothing compared to the money available with Talk Fusion.

If you have always taken care of your home yourself, that is great, but it also means that you are spending over 10 hours a month in cleaning. And you may not be cleaning all that expertly.

If there are two people working outside the home that makes it doubly hard to keep your home clean. Working harder might be an answer to keeping your house in good condition, but you then lose time, energy and the ability to be with your family. You need to call maid services for a quote, interview, and assurance that there is more to living than using your spare time cleaning.

    Advantages of a Cleaning Service

Two people working full time outside the home are lacking in two very valuable commodities. One is time and the other is energy. If you have children in the home you are even more impacted by lack of time and energy. After coming home from work you may find it almost impossible to jump in and start vacuuming, scrubbing bathrooms and dusting. There is always the weekend, but days off are for more than cleaning.

Hire a cleaning service. Schedule weekly or bi-weekly cleaning sessions and you will find that your maid service will deep clean, pick up, touch up and keep up with the chores that go undone when you have no time or energy. Local maid services will clean under your bed, dust the books on the shelf and clean and disinfect your bathroom. Your fixtures will shine and you can relax. There is no better feeling when coming home after work to an awesome clean home. Kick off your shoes and just smile.

Stress is relieved, a weight has been lifted off your shoulders, and your home is cleaned from top to bottom. You now have one less thing to worry about. Try a cleaning service for your peace of mind.

Depending on your situation, if you have time to take care of the everyday cleaning chores, that is awesome. But if you need someone to come in and help with the deep cleaning before events or just to get cleaning organized, hire a cleaning service. Do consider the size of your home. If you have a typical four-bedroom, three bath home it will take you almost four hours on a weekend to scour and scrub everything. This takes up most of the weekend. Hire a maid service. They will keep up on cleaning and you will not have to worry about it on the weekend.

    Costs and Time

Do weigh the cost of cleaning services against the time you spend cleaning. It does cost about $75.00 biweekly to have a good cleaning service. However, if you set aside the funds, you will be able to get other chores and assignments that are more profitable. The money you spend on a cleaning service will be well worth it, and the time you save might help you work on building your career. Time you spend cleaning is time you will never get back.

Find those maid services that are bonded, insured and have references and guarantees. Your local maid service generally has many references and testimonials on file and you are welcome to browse through them.

There are cleaning companies that are unscrupulous and do not train, background check or bond their employees. There are several stories cleaning services that do have difficult attitudes and this will cost you in time and money.

    Being Honest

A cleaning service that is honest will bond their employees against theft and loss of a customer's property. However, in the event that your house keeper steals from you may not see reimbursement for your losses for quite some time. Most maid services bond up to $25,000 in property damage or losses. This means that if a housekeeper is arrested and found guilty the bonding company will pay for your losses. You do have wait for arrest and conviction. However, a bond is your insurance that you will be reimbursed.

Currently in the United States there are over 22,000 cleaning companies franchised, local and individual. There are many employees in maid and cleaning services that are immigrants and English is not their first or even their language. The language barrier can cause problems. You might request a maid who speaks English, but that can be difficult. Do let your preferred maid service know your preferences to ensure that you have peace of mind. Do bear in mind, that those who do not speak English are also capable, very good at their jobs, and highly honest.

There are house keepers who will slash your cleaning bill by working for cash. You might find, however, that under the table payments are illegal and ultimately cost in social security and unemployment taxes. Do be aware that paying under the table might be a great benefit for you and your maid, but you will have no recourse in theft, damage, or a poorly cleaned home.

Get a contract from either a professional cleaning service or an individual. You will find that when you hire a maid service you definitely will sign a contract that will protect you and the maid. A contract ensures honesty.

One very sad story concerns a housekeeper who fell from a ladder while washing light fixtures and broke her back. As an employee of a cleaning service the insurance paid for her surgery and resulting rehabilitation. The homeowner, being a very noble person, did chip in for some of the costs and assured the housekeeper of her continued employment when she was able to work again. Contracts do pay!

Contracts, honesty, and hiring a good maid service will ensure that mistakes are fixed. If you find that your hired maid uses cleaning products that contain acid on your marble counter tops, the resulting damages will be covered. Do make sure that services stand behind their employees. Mistakes of bleach on the carpet, acid on the counter tops or broken furniture can happen to anyone, but if you are hiring a cleaning service, you do expect to be covered.

Cleaning , janitorial and maid services are terms that describe a dedicated external service that provides specific cleaning methods to individuals, schools, businesses and just about anyone who needs a cleanup done right. These services may be diverse and what was historically considered to be services performed by a female maid, is now an industry that covers both male and female employees.

Traditionally a maid was one who was employed in household services. Formerly, a part of the hierarchy in homes and business, nowadays a maid is one who performs specialized and periodic cleaning services, and generally is not a "live-in" member of a household.

    Characteristics of Maids

Cleaning services employ maids, janitors, carpet cleaners, window washers, and painters who all work together to bring the perfect solution to your cleaning needs. You can set up a plan for washing floors and widows, vacuuming, dusting, scrubbing floors and cleaning bathrooms. This plan is generally put into action weekly, biweekly or monthly.

Using a maid service may be thought due to geological site, be short of individual moment, social standing and a not have knowledge in effectively cleaning your home. Using a maid service in years past was affordable only for the affluent, now these services are common and there can be payments tailored to fit budgets and cleaning schedules.

Using a maid service might be a bit more expensive than just hiring a part-time maid or cleaning lady, but using a service offers many advantages. You will have someone do your cleaning that is bonded and insured. You may have you maid service bring all the necessary cleaning supplies. The cleaning service withholds social security and income taxes. Rest assured you are working with a legitimate business.

Using a janitorial service will give you the freedom and knowledge in realizing that your office and office building are cleaned to perfection.

There are many residential cleaning services throughout the United State, Canada and the UK. Search through your local listing to find the service that will best fit your needs. Most cleaning services interview and train their employees, conduct background checks and insure their maids against accidents to them, your home and your belongings. Maids, janitors, carpet cleaners, and all those who work inside your home are also bonded. This is to ensure coverage to you in the case of theft.

As more and more women enter the workforce and most household are two incomes, it becomes almost a necessity to have a cleaning service. You can schedule your cleaning times any time of the day and on Saturdays. A domain name or URL is a unique ID that represents the address to your website. Therefore, one can say rightly that the selection of such names can be a very crucial aspect especially when you are planning to launch a business website. When it comes to selecting a domain name there are numerous aspects that have to be taken into consideration. Initially, it is necessary that you come up with more than one name in mind. It is advised so because of the fact that millions of domain names are already being used by as many websites as you see on web, therefore, it is not necessary that a single name that you come up with will be readily available.

When choosing the domain name for your business, you need to be aware of the important characteristics which such a name should come with.

    Proximity to the business name

When selecting a domain name your primary focus should be to make sure that the domain has a close proximity with the name of your business. This is something considered very important by the search engines. For instance, when someone logs into your website, it is not necessary that they will memorize the domain name after the logging off. The visitors can most probably remember the name of your business but not the domain name. The representation of the site name with www and .com, .co extensions always make it look complex and visitors never bother to memorize it. Therefore, if the domain name that you select is similar to your business name then you could easily get more returning visitors.

    Content proximity

The next thing that you have to concentrate upon is whether the domain name that you have selected matches the contents of the website. For instance, if you are planning to air a website that is related to providing dentistry services and you register the domain name dentistry.com for it, then you can be sure that the search engines will the rank the website highly. It is because of the fact that all the pages in such a website will be coming with something related to dentistry which is what the selected site name is.

    Simple and catchy

One of the other characteristics of a good domain name is that it will always be simple and catchy. This is to ensure that the visitors to your website can memorize the name without taking much effort. Simplicity associated with the name is inevitable. It is said so because of the fact that if you have a name that is short but spelled weirdly then you always risk losing potential clients to competitors.

    Hyphens and numbers

One of the other qualities of a good domain name is that it does not come with any hyphens or numbers. You could see people trying to incorporate numbers or punctuation within their desired website names just to make them unique. Well, such people are not aware of the fact that names with numbers and hyphens are poorly ranked by the search engines.
