Wireless LAN (WLAN) is a wireless broadband technology that utilizes radio frequency (RF) to transmit and receive data through the air, minimizing the need for wired networks.

There are two competing RF technologies in the use of Wireless LAN, the IEEE 802.11 standard and proprietary technologies. Both fall under wireless broadband technology. Broadband means the ability to transmit high-speed voice, data and video traffic using a wide range of frequencies on a single wireless medium or device.

This page aims to give you an overview about Wireless Broadband -IEEE 802.11 standard commonly called Wireless LAN. 802.11 is a standard agreed by the IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Inc.) the world's leading professional association for the advancement of technology. 802.11 is the standard adopted by IEEE to define an over the air interface between a wireless client and base station or between two wireless clients.

The 802.11 standard has evolved over the years and became one of the most successfully deployed technologies. The standard now covers 802.11b, 802.11a and 802.11g systems.

Radio Frequency (RF) is the medium use by wireless networks in the transmission of information over the air. RF works by converting electrical current into radio waves and transmit those waves over the air using a defined frequency of the radio spectrum. An example, the AM and FM radios two most commonly known uses of the RF spectrum.

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) is the one administering the use of radio spectrum between the frequencies of 9 Kilohertz (KHz) and 300 gigahertz (GHz). 802.11 WLAN systems operate in the radio spectrum available to the public, also known as the unlicensed frequency band. These radio spectrum bands are unlicensed, free for use by anyone provided FCC regulations are complied with.

The FCC as a regulatory governs the maximum transmit power of wireless radios as well as, type of encoding and frequency modulations to be used. In 802.11 operations, it is provided for by the FCC that non-licensed radios (such as 802.11) must accept interference from licensed electronic systems. FCC considers licensed device as the primary equipment.

802.11 Wireless LAN Standard Operating Frequencies: The 802.11 standard are assigned frequencies 2.4 GHz (2.4-2.4835 GHz) on ISM Band and 5 GHz (5.15-5.25 GHz, G.25-5.35 GHz, 5.725-5.825 GHz) of the U-NII band. 802.11b and 802.11g operates on 2.4 GHz while 802.11a is operating on the 5 GHz band.

802.11 assigned frequency range has different characteristics. Lower Frequencies (2.4 GHz ) exhibit better range but with limited bandwidth and lower data rates. Higher Frequencies (5 GHz) have less range but higher data rates but is prone to blocking by solid objects.

These are attributable to attenuation and interference. Attenuation or the loss of signal strength during transmission is higher when the receiver is farther from the transmitter. Obstacles such as mountains and buildings also contribute to attenuation by blocking or weakening radio signals, causing signal loss or dead spots. Depending of what they are made of, floors, walls, and ceilings can either strengthen or weaken WLAN signals. Interference can be caused by nearby stations operating in the same frequency on the same channel. 2.4 GHz cordless phones for instance can cause great interference on 802.11b wireless networks.

Wireless broadband and WLAN devices are called transceiver devices since it both transmit and receive at the same time. Each component both transmits and receives IP traffic. Antennas direct RF power into the air over a coverage area. An Antenna provides wireless LAN devices gain, direction and polarization. Gain is the measure of increase in power while direction is the shape of the transmission pattern. Polarization is dependent on antenna alignment and can be typically described as vertical or horizontal. Most Access Point antennas are designed to operate in vertical pattern for maximum horizontal coverage plane or polarization. Putting the antenna in a horizontal position will result in a vertical plane limiting coverage.

The factor to consider in increasing the range of Wireless LAN devices is the Antenna and EIRP. EIRP or Equivalent Isotropically Radiated Power is being governed or limited by FCC regulations to a maximum of Four (4) watts with additional restrictions/limitations depending on type of antenna (directional or omni-directional) and antenna placement (indoor or outdoors). Some countries limit EIRP to as much as 100mw, above this will require a license to operate. This applies mostly for outdoor WLAN equipments.

To deploy long-range outdoor wireless broadband and WLAN devices, please consult your country's telecommunication commission guidelines on use of outdoor wireless broadband (WLAN) devices.

The goal is to reach people yearning to start their own home-based business even in remote regions thru cost-effective internet business and long-range wireless communication solutions.

Looking for a small intimate elegant hotel in the Bahamas, slightly off the beaten track then check out Dunmore Beach Club on Harbour Island

A Bahamas Vacation at Dunmore Beach Club on Harbour Island might suit you very well, particularly if you need to escape from the pressures of life, and you don't want too much activity based stuff, but rather a leisurely time. If you don't already know Harbour Island known as Briland to its residents is situated just off the northeast coast of Eleuthers. It is only three miles long and half a mile wide, and is surrounded by coral reef. To get to Dunmore Beach Club you can fly into North Eleuthera Airport, then a short taxi ride to the dock a 15 minute boat taxi to Harbour Island, then a 5 minute taxi ride to the hotel.

The Dunmore Beach Club was originally built for the Duke and Duchess of Windsor and their friends and accommodates up to thirty two guests in sixteen very private cottage accommodations. The whole site covers eight acres, and all the patios have just the most stunning ocean views. There are 10 updated and enlarged guest accommodations, each with six foot Jacuzzi tubs, and huge showers. All meals are included in your Bahamas Vacation at Dunmore Beach Club, served on the romantic outdoor terrace, or in the dining room. The dinner is of gourmet quality, and gentlemen are asked to wear jackets and collared shirts in the winter season. The bar operates on an honour system, so you make your own drinks, and write down what you have had.

Dunmore Beach Club is really a very elegant and lovely Bahamas hotel, with a very high rate of satisfaction, being well over 80%. There are lots of little touches which help to make a Bahamas Vacation here very special, such as iced tea and sun screen by the beach, homemade cookies, to name but two.

You will not find a more stunning beach anywhere, the beautiful pink sand, the blue sky, and the turquoise sea, mean you can just lie in a hammock and gaze open mouthed.at it for hours. This must be the place for beauty, serenity, and tranquillity on Harbour Island, and it does attract a certain type of clientele. These are people who like relaxed elegance, who enjoy dressing up for dinner, who like top class but unobtrusive service, and aren't bothered at all if there isn't television, or a telephone in the room, or 24 hour room service. In fact they are delighted just to escape this kind of thing. The words elegance and charm occur again and again when guests describe the Dunmore Beach Club. This description particularly the word charm is also frequently used to describe the staff, many of whom have been in service here for a long time. They do give a lasting impression of really loving what they do, and their air of happiness seems to be shared by all the islanders who have happy smiles and are so friendly.

To summarise Dunmore Beach Club is a high class old fashioned Bahamas Hotel sitting on a picture perfect beach, and if you like high standards and elegance then this could be a great choice for your Bahamas Vacation.

Looking for an affordable family vacation in a Bahamas Luxury resort, then check out Bahama Beach Club Treasure Cay , Great Abaco Island

This Bahamas Luxury Resort first opened in 2002, and consists of 2,3,4 and 5 bedroom luxury beachfront condominiums, which are almost certainly better equipped than you are at home, even down to the fully fitted kitchens, and the daily housekeeping Service. There are only four units in each building, each with huge floor space, and each unique in decoration and furnishing with private terraces looking out on the palm trees and the turquoise sea.

This Caribbean Luxury Resort is perfect for an affordable family vacation, and there is something for everybody here. There is a spectacular three mile powder white sand beach, named frequently as one of the top ten beaches in the world. There is an eighteen hole championship golf course, which is probably the number one course in the Bahamas.

Treasure Cay has miles of superb coral reefs just waiting for you to go snorkelling or scuba diving. The crystal clear water at around 80 degrees is just perfect to view the scores of multicoloured tropical fish.

Perhaps fishing is your thing, well you can go deep sea fishing to your heart's content as this part of the Caribbean is famous for its big game fishing. On the other hand it may be that just boating is enough, well there is a 150 slip marina, and you can go exploring the seas around Treasure Cay, and perhaps see whale and dolphin, or sharks and manta rays. Boating here is a joy. In fact everything you should expect from a luxury resort you will find here.

The choices whilst not quite limitless are certainly more than enough to keep you occupied one way or another on your affordable family vacation, and that is without mentioning the water skiing and other water sports, or the tennis courts.

For those guests who prefer a more indolent holiday there is a nice freshwater pool, and the swim up pool bar, where you get a good lunch and can eat in the evening. Dining options are very limited at the Bahama Beach Club, and this is something you need to be aware of, and there are one or two other things you need to be aware of before booking this affordable resort.

The first thing is you will really need to pre book a golf cart before you get there. You will need this to carry your groceries, get you to and from the golf course, and generally to get around Treasure Cay. The lack of places to dine at the resort is a key issue, and the cart will enable you to eat out relatively easily so to speak.

One slight irritant is the lack of beach towels, so you will need to bring your own, or use the big bath towels supplied by the resort.

To summarise Bahama Beach Club isn't a touristy type of place, the whole atmosphere is very laid back. There is no pool or beach bar service, very little noise and activity, which means that Bahama Beach Club won't be for everyone. On the other hand if you like really top class accommodation, spectacular views, and a complete rest from the daily grind, then you will simply love it here.

    *********************** ARTICLE START ***********************

An exclusive hotel called Runaway Hill, actually to be fair it is more of a New England Inn than a hotel, is oceanfront on Harbour Island, and could be the perfect place to have a Bahamas Wedding or a honeymoon for that matter.

Runaway Hill is best described in a few words, small, intimate, conservative, and comfortable. You can ascertain from that brief account, whether or not it sounds like your kind of place, either for a Bahamas Honeymoon or a plain vacation. You might be interested to know that in season jackets are required for dinner, and there are no children permitted under the age of eighteen.

This exclusive hotel/inn is oceanfront on a small bluff overlooking the pink sand and turquoise sea, and it nestles in a grove of causarina trees. There are 10 accommodation units, with two in the original building accessed by the 18th century staircase, and the others within comfortable annexes built during the last thirty years. The bedrooms are all different, and you could get the impression you were a guest in a friend's home.

It is reassuring to know that well over 90% of the guests at Runaway Hill are more than happy with their experience and feel the description of it as an exclusive hotel is well justified. As a place to hold a really marvellous Bahamas Wedding, there is nothing but praise from bride, groom, and guests.

Similarly for a place to spend a Bahamas Honeymoon, comments like "Completely out of this world", and "Totally perfect in every way", should be the positive kind of information that prospective honeymooners need to read.

Another significant fact is the very high percentage of returning guests to this lovely oceanfront Inn, they are obviously doing a lot, in fact almost everything right in the past couple of years.

When you thing first of all about the position of Runaway Hill Inn on a hill overlooking one of the best beaches you will find anywhere, then that by itself is a reason to return. Whilst you have to be there to really understand quite how good the view is, just accept at face value it is out of this world.

Then you add the nice terraces, the fresh water pool, and probably the best kitchen in the whole of the Bahamas. Fresh ingredients, delicate flavours are present throughout every dish.

All this adds to and helps make up a terrific ambiance that you won't find in many places. The lack of children does make a certain difference, and probably is one reason why young newly weds choose Runaway Hill for their Bahamas Honeymoon.

One thing that stands out is the attention to detail, everywhere in the hotel. This applies equally to the lovely rooms, the romantic dining areas, the food, and the way in which the staff have been trained, and now carry out their duties. You really do feel that this is an ultimately exclusive hotel, and you are the most important people there. They do operate on the MMFI principle[Make Me Feel Important]!!

As you can gather from this article there seems little doubt that Runaway Hill Inn is not only an exclusive hotel in its own right, it has a gorgeous oceanfront setting, great ambiance, and would be perfect for a Bahamas Wedding or a Bahamas Honeymoon.

Desperately seeking an affordable Bahamas Vacation, then look no farther than Sammy T's Beach Resort on Cat Island

An affordable vacation in the Bahamas shouldn't cost more than around $250 a day, and also be somewhere that is nice and not just a cheap Bahamas Vacation Package. Cheap tends to mean less than salubrious, whereas affordable could mean delightful but not a lot of money, in other words great value, and that is exactly what you are going to get at Sammy T's Beach Resort on Cat Island.

With only 6 rooms, a mixture of one and two bedroom wooden Caribbean style villas, each differently designed and decorated, all equipped with air conditioning and ceiling fans, plus all the normal hotel bedroom bits and pieces plus a kitchenette with microwave, Sammy T's Beach Resort is a very small and intimate resort, at an average room rate of less than $200 for a one bedroom villa. The beach it sits on is definitely one of the most spectacular in the Bahamas.

The whole design of Sammy T's Beach Resort is made to complement the lush natural landscape, using the natural landscape and the introduction some popular and brightly coloured local flowers.

Sammy T's Beach Resort could be the perfect spot for your Bahamas Wedding for it is situated on its own sweep of beautiful private beach and set in a lush landscape, so the environment would be perfect for the big day and Sammy T's Beach Resort does offer very good wedding packages.

By the way the resort doesn't accept children under the age of 10 so it would also be very suitable for a Bahamas Honeymoon.

The whole atmosphere is very much home from home, and the staff go out of their way to make you feel like friends who are staying as opposed to guests in some impersonal hotel.

When guests at Sammy T's Beach Resort are asked for their comments they are uniformly good, with a very high satisfaction level, and that is so important. Bearing in mind also that the prices show that Sammy T's Beach Resort can be part of a cheap Bahamas Vacation Package and yet be of such high quality in itself demands more investigation.

Comments like "Picture Perfect Beach", "Villas are spacious, stylish and comfortable", "The food is lovely with beautifully cooked fresh fish every day", " A really relaxed, informal hideaway", really tell you a lot. The words a little piece of paradise to describe Cat Island and Sammy T's Beach Resort do readily spring to mind. One guest just couldn't believe that such an affordable vacation could be so perfect, and how much better a Bahamas Honeymoon here would be compared to some of the large hotels in the Caribbean. At the end of the day Cat Island is part of what the Bahamas must have been like everywhere fifty years ago, so the words "The real Bahamas", probably sum it up accurately.

Two slight downsides, the first is the lack of a cooker in the kitchen, a microwave is very limiting, and the water which isn't very palatable. Of course the food is good enough not to have to cook, and bottled water answers the other slight problem.

There is very little doubt that for an affordable Bahamas Vacation, in a place really close to paradise where you can really escape the 21st century, you could do a whole lot worse that have a cheap Bahamas vacation on Cat Island staying on the most beautiful private beach at Sammy T's Beach Resort.

Article Title: Top All Inclusive Couples Resort In The Bahamas

The top all inclusive couples only resort in the Bahamas has to be special, and you will go a long way to find one that is better than Sandals Royal Bahamian Resort on New Providence.

If you can, book a butler level villa suite, because this will be perfect for a romantic getaway, or a Bahamas Honeymoon. The great thing about the butler is that he is yours to command, and within reason he will do anything for you.

The Sandals Royal Bahamian Resort is like all Sandals resorts in that you can take part in the daily activities and be sociable, or you can just enjoy the peace and quiet which the villas here give you. There are smaller pools near the villas which are quiet if you prefer to be away from other people.

This is a large hotel with 406 guest rooms and suites, with eight restaurants, seven pools, a full service spa, and an off shore island with an additional swimming pool whirlpool and restaurant.

From the moment you arrive in your chauffeur driven Mercedes, you will realize that the Sandals Royal Bahamian Resort is special. Champagne and nibbles whilst you check in, and the process is so subtle it's done before you realize. What you do get a whiff of immediately is that the all inclusive is high quality all inclusive, and the immediate atmosphere makes you quickly realize that this is the top quality romantic getaway, just perfect for a Bahamas honeymoon.

Some arrival advice would be that if you arrive before afternoon check in time, then make sure you have your bathers in your hand baggage so you can go swimming whilst you wait. In addition it's probably a good idea to have done some research on the restaurants, and make your reservations at check in to ensure you get your choice. The staff here, and in the rest of the resort are both helpful and polite and can't be faulted.

.The restaurants split easily into groups, and that is for evening dining Casanova, Kimono's, Bacarrat, and the Crystal Room, whilst for informal lunchtime type food, there is Café Goombay, Royal Café, and the Cricketers English Pub. Then Spices is basically a full time buffet, and the place to eat breakfast.

If your idea of a Couples resort includes evening entertainment with audience participation, then you will be in paradise. If it isn't your scene, then you might want to go to one, and then stay away. The standard is good and mostly enjoyable despite the fear of being dragged into the limelight.

Most guests especially those using the Sandals Royal Bahamian Resort for their all inclusive honeymoon vacation will probably not participate in group daytime activities, but you will note how immaculate everything is, and how good a condition all the amenities like the tennis courts are, and how well they are kept. You will need to spend time on the island, which is probably the best part of the resort, on the beach, and at the cold quiet pool.

There are a couple of things you must do when staying at the Sandals Royal Bahamian Resort. Bring your own snorkeling gear, and take a bus to town. It would be sad not to see a bit of New Providence just because you are staying at an all inclusive resort.

To summarize, Sandals Royal Bahamian Resort isn't cheap, but you can get good deals, in which case it becomes good value for money. It is a good choice for an all inclusive honeymoon vacation, or a romantic getaway, although the Couples Only element can be a bit overpowering.

The Paradise Cove Beach Resort on Grand Bahama could be the Cheap Bahamas Vacation that is good value for money, and is worth checking out.

A Cheap Bahamas Vacation that is any good at all may appear difficult to find, until you come across the small beach resort of Paradise Cove. It is situated in the west of Grand Bahama just beyond Eight Mile Rock, and Holmes Rock, and it has direct access to Deadman's Reef off the resort's secluded beach. It is worth checking out before you spend a fortune at a giant characterless Grand Bahama Island Hotel

Paradise Cove Beach Resort consists of three beachfront units including a one bedroom apartment, a two bedroom cottage and a two bedroom villa. All have a fully equipped kitchen, air conditioning, towels and cooking implements. Everything at Paradise Cove Beach Resort is brand new as they are still rebuilding after the hurricane a couple of years ago. In fairness more of the accommodation units that were lost are being replaced.

As should be obvious from reading the introduction this is not a five star hotel, so if you need that sort of thing then don't read any more!! On the other hand if you are looking for a getaway type of vacation then this could be just the place for you. All it consists of is two houses, and a small gift shop, bar and grill, with an equipment rental shop.

The Red Bar and Grill has most of what you will need, selling most things from sunblock to underwater cameras. The Red Bar is famous for its Pina Coladas, Bahama Mamas, and they have the reputation of the best Conch Fritters on Great Bahama

If you can book the new two bedroom house, then you will be directly on the beach, really feeling as if you are right out in the country, miles away from anywhere when in reality Freeport is very close. The great attraction here is the snorkelling at Deadman's Reef, and you won't find many people around apart from other snorkelers during the day. The beach therefore is almost your own to enjoy.

Deadman's reef is close enough to shore to swim to, so this is especially good for those people who are seasick in a boat. The reef is quite spectacular with the choice of snorkeling outside the rock, where it is quite a lot rougher, but there are large floating buoys and places to rest. Inside the rocks it is much calmer for those not so strong or nervous swimmers. The hotel staff constantly patrol the waters around the reef in case anyone gets into difficulties. The large selection of fish, turtles, rays, pipefish available to see means you could almost spend all day in the water and never be bored.

It is stretching the point a bit to call the Paradise Cove Beach Resort a Resort, however it is a very personal place to stay and the owners are very helpful. You do need to realize that food is only available during the daytime snorkeling hours, and whilst there are stores close by for shopping, many of them do not take credit cards, so you will need cash, and in addition a hire car would be sensible. It does enable you to have a cheap Bahamas vacation, and a good one too!

Why not investigate a special small hotel called Fernandez Bay Village on Cat Island for either a romantic getaway, a Bahamas honeymoon or family vacation

A special hotel is hard to find, and when you find it, you want to keep it a secret because you don't want everyone else to know. Fernandez Bay Village is such a hotel located on Cat Island one of the out islands of the Bahamas. This is one of the places in the Bahamas where you can honestly say you have found an island escape, a place for a romantic getaway. In case you aren't aware of where Cat Island is situated, then it is about an hour by plane, south east of Nassau. It is the sixth largest Bahamas Island, stretching over 50 miles from North to South with Exuma Sound to the West and the Atlantic Ocean to the East.

Fernandez Bay Village is very special in that it seems to be equally enjoyed on a Bahamas family vacation as it is by those who seek a romantic getaway. This is a lovely place with unspoiled beautiful white sand beaches, and is a small hotel with just fifteen villas and cottages which sit at the water's edge under a canopy of coconut palms. With hammocks to relax in, an incredible turquoise blue green warm sea to swim in the crescent shaped private beach just lends itself to fun and romance. The club house has a well stocked library, very necessary for the lazy sunworshipper.

All the accommodations at Fernandez Bay Village are made of native stone and tile with open patios with stunning sea views, garden showers and very comfortable beds, just add to the relaxed ambience of the place. Not all of the rooms are airconditioned, and in fact with the sea breezes it isn't strictly necessary, although all rooms have a refrigerator. You can choose between the cottages or the villas. For a family vacation the spacious two bedroom villas with their own kitchen are perfect. Hummingbird House is the perfect suite for a romantic getaway package or for a honeymoon, as is The Point House which is at the southern end of the bay offering unrivalled privacy, although it is equally good for families because the beach there is virtually unused.

If you need baby sitting then this can easily be arranged, to allow parents to go fishing, or scuba diving, or exploring some of the fascinating historical ruins on Cat Island.

For the children, then apart from perhaps taking a DVD Player and some movies to occupy them at rest time, even a pack of cards or travel games, they will be well entertained playing in the warm shallow water, hunting hermit crabs, building sandcastles, searching for seashells, snorkelling, even biking into town. The staff will ensure they are safe, and there is no security problem anywhere so they is no problem about them cycling into town. The staff will even supervise kayaking.

The restaurant is one of only four commercial kitchens on Cat Island, so you'll need the food to be good!! It has a very good reputation and you will be considered booked in for all three meals unless you indicate otherwise. The restaurant's reputation draws visitors from far and wide. Dinner is served buffet style on the beach patio under the stars. If you want to cook, and you have chosen a villa with a kitchen, then there are two places to shop nearby. The Tiki Bar on the beach is a popular place to meet other guests and visitors, and guests act as their own bartender at this honor bar which must be about unique.

Fernandez Bay Village could be about the perfect spot for a Bahamas Honeymoon or a Bahamas Family vacation. It is undoubtedly a special hotel, but if you need 24 hour room service, and all the trimmings this won't be the place for you, but if good cheerful service wholesome meals, peace and quiet, in fact a getaway, then you will be more than happy here.

An exclusive resort in the Bahamas is not an uncommon thing to find, but there are very few that are new, that are world class and are Out Island as well. This is the ideal place for your Bahamas vacation, with the blue water of Exuma and Rock Sound on either side of Cape Eleuthera where it is situated.

For this ultimate in secluded getaways you need to take a one hour boat trip from Nassau to Eleuthera Island

The accommodation at Powell Pointe Resort is in spectacular, gigantic, fully furnished and equipped two bedroom water front homes, often described as the best accommodations in the Bahamas, even the Caribbean. They have a fully equipped stainless steel kitchen and a full bath. The homes all include DVD Wi Fi, laundry facilities. The two storey townhomes are not exactly what you would expect to find in somewhere as isolated as Eleuthera. They even have a second floor balcony where you can sit with cocktail in hand watching absolutely breathtaking sunsets. Alternatively you can sit on the verandah of the Starbucks style coffee shop and enjoy the view. It coincidentally turns into wine bar serving terrific cocktails at night. To look out over miles and miles of beautiful beaches makes you realise that this is an extraordinary getaway destination where you can totally relax and spoil yourself.

As a Bahamas Family vacation Resort, you will also find childrens programmes, water sports, bicycles to explore, and if the thought of children in the resort is off putting, don't forget the sheer size and scale of the place. You could be out exploring and not see anyone.

One of the really great things about Powell Pointe Resort is that there is something here for everyone, so absolutely ideal as a Bahamas family vacation destination, but equally good as a romantic getaway or even a Bahamas Honeymoon. There is even a marina with a selection of boats plus a little food store.

There is a beautiful ocean to explore, seemingly unlimited miles of beaches to walk, and everything you need can and will be supplied by a willing and very friendly staff, who are also extremely professional. The resort in fact has an eighteen mile long foreshore to explore, or you can get the staff to take you to one of the five footprint free island beaches for the day. You'll be given a picnic, all you need really is a bucket and spade, some shade, suncream, and bathers and a towel, and you will be in paradise. Cape Eleuthera has been quite justifiably described as one of the last great paradises on the planet, and with very good reason, because that is exactly what it is.

At Powell Pointe Resort your day is your own to choose, whether it is to be deep sea fishing, or explore the 5000 acre estate, and beaches, or go snorkelling, scuba diving, or just lie out in the sun enjoying the exclusive luxury.

There are many reasons already listed for choosing Powell Pointe Resort, the only real negative is that the town house accommodation isn't really suitable for the disabled, or for that matter people with heavy suitcases!!

The Harborside Resort Bahamas is on Paradise Island, and it is actually a collection of 392 private villas located outside the grounds of the Atlantis Resort just across the marina, so it is very close to one of the great playgrounds of the world..

It is not only the fact that it is outside the Atlantis Resort that is an advantage, particularly for those people who are overwhelmed by the sheer scale of Atlantis, but who would like access to all of the amazing facilities. This isn't a problem, because guests at the Harborside Resort at Atlantis have full access to all of the Atlantis Hotel amenities and facilities. In addition guests at the Harborside Resort at Atlantis have their own facilities, such as a pool, a fitness facility, and an all day shuttle service to Atlantis. By the way the shuttle service is not only fast but really good too, and a little bit of advice re the shuttle, is to take the shuttle to the Cove and walk through to the beach from there, as it is a much quicker way than going through Royal Towers. In fact there are free shuttles to and from the various towers at Atlantis and they are a real boon, and well worth using because it is important you try all the pools and slides at Atlantis.

Some good advice is to take with you sealable plastic drinks containers, which you can carry about in Atlantis. You can take in drinks you have bought in the liquopr store at a far lower cost than in the Resort where Tax is added to the price, in the plastic container. If you bet in the Casino then drinks are supplied free, and you can do the same with them

One of the nicest features of the Harborside Resort at Atlantis is the fact you come back to it every night and leave the hustle and bustle of Atlantis behind you. The Harborside is a gated community with its own shop, so with the kitchens in every villa, you can save a lot of money by cooking for yourself instead of eating out. You can take a grocery shopping trip every day at 10am, when a van will take you to a good grocery store, and there is a liquor store too, and it only costs $7 each.

One of the main advantages of staying at the Harborside Resort at Atlantis is that there are no lines at the towel huts so you can pick up your towels and bands without queuing as you would do in Atlantis itself. Similarly the restaurant isn't crowded and the pool here is excellent, being right at the waters edge, very quiet, and very secluded. The Point Poolside Bar and Restaurant has good food, service and a great view down the harbour.

The staff at the Harborside Resort at Atlantis are kind, courteous, and mostly efficient.

You would do well to eat outside the Harborside Resort at Atlantis and Atlantis itself, for some variety, because it is cheaper, and as far as Atlantis resort is concerned so you don't have to queue. In fairness the Mesa Grill in the Atlantis resort is worth a visit. Amongst the recommended places to eat are The Poopdeck , Anthony's which is within walking distance and does breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Zio Gigi's an Italian restaurant in the Hurricane Hole Plaza.

If your children insist on Atlantis, you insist on the Harborside Resort at Atlantis and you'll have a great and slightly less expensive time than staying in Atlantis itself.

A Bahamas resort called the Palm Bay Beach Club on Great Exuma has a reputation of being a tranquil escape which is well off the beaten track. It consists of 40 beautifully appointed typical Bahama style cottages. The beach here is secluded and almost deserted, and you can dive on a coral reef or fish to your heart's content. The Beach Club has heated pools, a beach bar, and grill, and yet it doesn't look much when you see it first from the road, which proves you should never judge a book by its cover, because what you will find is a charming place with very clean rooms, very friendly staff, and lovely views of the bay.

The rooms have a large enclosed patio with a table and four chairs. The floors throughout the rooms are tiled, and there is a large living area with satellite TV. There are fans, and you will probably not need air conditioning due to the breezes.

One of the best features of the Palm Bay Beach Club is its proximity to Georgetown which is less than a mile away and easily accessible for groceries and booze in a free shuttle. The rooms in the beach Club as well as being very comfortable have a small kitchen with a microwave, coffee maker, and a fridge.

It is nice to have the option of self catering on occasions, but you will find the Splash restaurant at the Palm Bay Beach Club serves very good food, with a nightly special and a great selection of desserts. In many people's opinion the restaurant is the best on Great Exuma. It is also good to be able to have a 'Take Away' facility, so you can take your food back to your room to eat.

This is a Bahamas Resort that is still family owned and run, and there is little doubt that this happy circumstance makes a difference to your Bahamas vacation, and is one very good reason leaving everything else out, to choose the Palm Bay Beach Club.

One of the great things is how relaxing and stress free this Bahamas resort comes across as. You will waken every morning to see the lovely crystal clear water of Elizabeth Harbour, and if you look the other way you will realise you are surrounded by lush green tropical vegetation in a lovely contrast of colours.

Palm Bay Beach Club is very well staffed, a tribute to the owners, and everyone is both helpful and friendly, and they will do anything to make sure you have a great Bahamas Vacation.

The Palm Bay Beach Club provides kayaks, paddle boats, and hobies, but it is suggested you rent a boat from Minns, and this will enable you to go when and where you want to explore, shop and eat. Car rental can be difficult so organise this before you arrive so you can have the best of both worlds, so you can get to different parts of the beautiful island of Great Exuma.

It is always difficult to do justice to a hotel or resort, and the Palm Bay Beach Club is no exception. The best thing to say that there are almost no bad reports from people who have chosen it as their Bahamas resort for their vacation. It is simple and beautiful and a perfect Caribbean escape.

A Bahamas Honeymoon Vacation at Club Med Columbus Isle might seem like an unusual spot, as Club Med isn't everyone's idea of a honeymoon vacation destination. This 80 acre oceanfront village is one of Club Med's most luxurious resorts with all the rooms having handcrafted furniture and patios or balconies. The kind of people who visit Club Med Columbus Isle are quality high income couples, and the whole place has a very laid back low key atmosphere making it ideal as a Bahamas Honeymoon Vacation Destination.

You will find the food and drinks at this Club Med some of the best you will find anywhere in the Bahamas. The buffets have a different theme every night, and eating a lamb which has been cooked on a spit under the stars would be a highlight anywhere. There is a choice of restaurants from the Berimboa which is Brazilian, where the buffet is enhanced by serving the meat after you have selected your salad. Watlings is a seafood restaurant, and there is a beach bar for drinks and daytime snacks. If you don't fancy anything in the buffet, there is a food station where you can go and request what you want which is pretty amazing

Most nights there is fish on the menu caught the very same day. There are very respectable wines by the bottle on each table. The cocktails, and all drinks alcoholic and non alcoholic are all well prepared and in abundance, and finally of course Club Med is All Inclusive in terms of food and drink

If you are a person who likes white fine sand beaches, and turquoise green warm water, especially Bahamas beaches, then this will not disappoint, in fact they are absolutely gorgeous. As an island San Salvador, or Columbus Isle so called because this is where Christopher Columbus landed on his historic voyage, has deserted beaches almost all round the island. It is worth renting a car for a day, take your snorkeling gear and go to Pigeon Lagoon, and Sandy Point. Even without a car, if you walk to the end of the beach at the far right of the resort you can snorkel at Coral Gardens. There is the usual problems with sandflies which you need to be aware of, so bring repellent.

For any holiday the accommodation must be up to scratch, and especially if you have chosen Club Med Columbus Isle for your Bahamas Honeymoon Vacation, and it is a really good choice. You really don't want any hassles at all, in fact you don't even want to have to think!! You'll get your room keys and a drink within seconds of getting off the plane, and within a couple of minutes you will be there, complete with your bracelets. The whole property is beautiful, mature trees, brightly coloured flowers, and the accommodation is all in two storey buildings and there are 200 rooms. You will either be facing the beach or palm shaded courtyards which themselves are filled with scented flowers. The villas are either blue, yellow, or pink, with two double beds, and plenty of room. And custom designed furnishings which gives a kind of Asian feel to it.

Being a Club Med there is a wide range of activities, although no pressure to join in if you don't want to.

Club Med Columbus Isle is undoubtedly a cut above other Club med properties. It does deal with a good class of client, many of whom are French. This could be a good choice for a Bahamas Honeymoon Vacation.

Article Title: A Cheap Bahamas Vacation On Grand Bahama Island

    *********************** ARTICLE START ***********************

A Cheap Bahamas Vacation is very difficult to find, but the Pelican Bay Resort, Lucaya, Grand Bahama could be just the place you are looking for. It is just a small hotel with 183 rooms and suites, right in the centre of the action in Port Lucaya on Grand Bahama just yards from restaurants, bars, and entertainment that have flourished in Port Lucaya in the past few years.

The Pelican Bay Resort is a great place for a Bahamas Vacation if your tastes are expensive, but your finances are limited, kind of champagne tastes and a beer budget if you like. This doesn't mean that the hotel is cheap, but it is a more inexpensive alternative, and it has luxury bedrooms and accommodations from standard garden view to luxury suite at prices the average family can afford. The accommodation is stylish and quality, especially the suites and every bit as good as you will find at either the Westin or the Sheraton which are more expensive .

Architecturally it is a mix of Caribbean island and classic Dutch, built on a peninsula which juts out into a veritable labyrinth of inland waterways, with yachts moored apparently all around the hotel. It has been described as having the appearance of Dutch seaside village town houses, each painted a different colour and overlooking the harbour.

Apart from the location being close to the action in Lucaya Port the hotel is also conveniently placed for Lucaya Beach, probably the best beach on Grand Bahama, which is only five minutes walk, and also Taino Beach which needs a ferry boat across the salt water channel.

The hotel has one main restaurant and bar called the Sabor serving imaginative international cuisine, and serves lunch and dinner every night of the week, with brunch on a Sunday. The complimentary breakfast buffet by the pool is well worth getting up for, and the quality of the lunches and dinner are good, with good service by Bahamas standards. There are three outdoor swimming pools, one with a hot tub at the Sabor Bar and Grill, where the cocktails are a speciality to be savoured, the other two pools are at the Bay View Building and the Suites.

If you can get an upgrade to a suite, then that would be a great idea. Expedia normally get a very good Bahamas Vacation Package here at very good prices, so an upgrade becomes a total bonus. There appears to be some building work [2008] starting so you would be advised to get a suite facing the sea and not the parking area. The suites have a private porch with stunning sea views of the bay. A very large sitting room and separate bedroom with kingsize bed. If you like coffee then the Nespresso expresso machine will be much enjoyed as will the pastries delivered every morning.

All in all the Pelican Bay Resort is a lovely hotel and is a great place for a cheap Bahamas vacation, although the hotel has many luxurious features, and is better described as inexpensive as cheap gives. totally the wrong idea. It is important to realise that the Lucaya Port area is a bit frenetic, so if it is peace and quiet you crave inside and outside the hotel, and you want a hotel on the beach, then this lovely small hotel may not be for you.

A Bahamas Honeymoon sounds like a great idea, but an even better idea would be to also have your wedding there. The beautiful beaches of Andros, and the wonderful Kamaleme Cay could be the perfect double destination for both your wedding and your romantic honeymoon. It was recently described as a small slice of heaven on earth, and as such is a great choice for any romantic vacation.

Kamaleme Cay is a 96 acre all inclusive private island hideaway just off the coast of Andros Island. It has over three miles of beautiful soft sand beach, and is reachable only by the resort's own ferry or seaplane, so this is a real hideaway for a wedding or a honeymoon, set as it is in one of the most beautiful parts of the Bahamas. For a romantic vacation, a honeymoon or a wedding in the Bahamas, what more could you want than great Caribbean cuisine, beautiful beaches, a freshwater pool, and some of the best fishing and diving in the Bahamas if not the whole Caribbean. Add to the mix a way of living whilst you are there that doesn't need shoes, this being a barefoot sort of place.

In terms of your wedding in the Bahamas, then Kamaleme Cay has a reputation of hosting them quite brilliantly with as much publicity or anonymity as you could wish for. It isn't only weddings that this Cay close to the island of Andros specialises in, because Kamaleme is also a great place for a Caribbean Honeymoon Vacation or just a romantic vacation for two. Amongst the many reasons are the small handful of beautifully and gracefully decorated private villas which are spaced out over the island, all facing the sea and within earshot of the waves crashing rhythmically onto the beach.

In addition Kamaleme takes great pains to make sure that every guest has this indefinable intimate and personal experience that you will only realise you have had, when you stay at a hotel which doesn't give you this. It is almost subliminal, it is so well carried out.

You can have special menus, firework displays, Junkanoo parties, almost anything is possible , because Kamaleme strives to make sure your every expectation is not only met but if at all possible exceeded. In fact for the real romantic vacation there is nothing like a candlelit dinner for two on a starlit beach, ringed by flaming torches with your own personal chef, or what about a picnic for two on an uninhabited island. Kamaleme knows what a Bahamas Honeymoon should be like. The food by the way is spectacular, and not only that but so well presented, and is one of the things that makes Kamaleme almost the ultimate vacation spot.

As a recent summary said the location is gorgeous, the accommodation amazing, the staff not only friendly but very efficient and more importantly effective. There are enough activities to keep you occupied, but the urge to relax with no urge at all to use your mobile phone will be overwhelming. You come here to relax and enjoy the lush setting, the great private beach, the spa on the water, and an atmosphere quite unlike anywhere else.

If you have a decision to make choose not only a Bahamas honeymoon here at Kamaleme, but your wedding here in the Bahamas, and if you're not the marrying kind, it is the perfect spot for a romantic vacation.

A perfect Bahamas Family Vacation needs something for everyone. Some family members are hyperactive, others want a bit of playtime and some relaxation, whilst others just wish to literally 'veg out' in the sun.

Small Hope Bay Lodge on Andros Island in the Bahamas is such a place.

It is just the most perfect getaway if you just want to relax, or go snorkelling, take diving lessons, go biking, walking or just spending your time buried in a good book whilst relaxing on the beach. You certainly won't be bored here at the all inclusive Small Hope Bay Lodge.

The accommodation in cottages is right on the beautiful white powder sand beach with plenty of hammocks and comfortable deck chairs. The beach sits next to the most perfect and calm turquoise water, and at night the stars come out and give you the most amazing sky you will probably ever see in your life. It is fair to say that this will be a somewhat rustic Bahamas family vacation, because Small Hope Bay Lodge isn't what you would call pretentious or upmarket. It is very much an environmentally conscious place, and all the more lovely for that. What this means in reality is that the rooms are simple clean and spacious. If you don't like this, and will miss sunken baths and Rain Showers, then go to Atlantis with nearly everybody else, and good luck to you.

Small Hope Bay Lodge is a place where you will fall asleep at night to the sounds of the waves, with a cooling breeze blowing over your face, and surely that is what holidays should be about. You can have air conditioning but the fans are more than enough.

Be warned however that Small Hope Bay Lodge isn't the kind of place for people who need all the apparent resort comforts that so many people sadly crave. Just don't come here if you need televisions, in room telephone, computer terminals, and mini bars because this won't be your kind of place.

This site on Andros Island is perfect if you like and appreciate good food, great and friendly staff, a personal service , and interesting people with an open bar as a bonus.

Unlike far too many resorts who welcome you with open arms and then lose interest in you within a day, you will find the staff at Small Hope Bay Lodge continue to care for you in some cases that we have heard of even after you have left but been delayed at the airport.

One of the ways to really enjoy a Bahamas Family Vacation, or any vacation for that matter is meeting interesting people, and because of the getaway from civilization and electronics at this resort tends to attract certain types of people you will certainly meet and have most interesting conversations with a huge variety of people. The fact that Small Hope Bay Lodge is family run makes a huge difference because the whole atmosphere feels so very personal.

Small Hope Bay Lodge is very much a barefoot paradise, because it is likely you will take your shoes off when you reach your room and not put them on again until you leave

Small Hope Bay Lodge can and will provide you with the kind of Bahamas Family Vacation on the delightful island of Andros that you have only dreamed of on cold winter nights at home.

Nassau as a Bahamas Vacation Spot has a large number of hotels to choose from with over forty eight regularly reported on, and recently the one that has come out on top has been Compass Point. It is a riot of colour with a mixture of 18 huts, combining two storey cottages with single cabanas. Not only is it colourful it is a very relaxing place to be just outside the town of Nassau, and only ten minutes from the airport.

Best described as small, being on a site of less than two acres it is a quite superb oceanfront retreat, and extremely attractive into the bargain.

The multicoloured cottages are somewhat rustic, having wooden floors, but extremely well equipped, with cable televisions, DVD players, mini fridge, wireless internet for those who have to be in touch with the office whilst on vacation. Little touches like coffee maker, ironing board, and hair dryer all add to the modern facilities if the rooms themselves are quite rustic Caribbean.

The rooms are large, air conditioned, and very comfortable, and unlike some other places none face the car park, or have a view of the air conditioning units, as all face the beautiful azure sea.

The best thing about Compass point as a Nassau Bahamas Vacation Spot is the tranquillity, and this is hard to believe being so close to Nassau which is not exactly quiet and peaceful. This means you will quickly sink into a totally relaxed state of mind, so this really isn't the place to be if you have children who need entertaining. Having said that if you want a hectic day or so, it isn't difficult to get not only to Nassau, but also Paradise Island home of the mega resort of Atlantis.

If your experience of New Providence and Nassau has been Cable Beach, then don't be put off by it, because Cable Beach is pretty well the total opposite in every way, including the most beautiful views of the ocean. It is little wonder that there is a high rate of return bookings to Compass Point, because this place is just so nice.

The staff at Compass Point are genuinely friendly and very accommodating, without ever being intrusive, and this isn't always the case in a Bahamas Vacation Package Hotel.

Food which is another way of measuring any vacation is generally very good, and the restaurant has a lovely setting. It's significant that a number of expats choose Compass Point's restaurant when they want to go out for a meal.

There is some entertainment at the weekends, but it really has a lot of local flavour to it, and it makes for a pleasant change, from the totally laid back, peaceful, read a good book, or several for that matter, atmosphere that the management team have worked hard to create.

The type of people who will choose Compass Point for their Nassau Bahamas vacation are those who are looking for a really personal experience, which is close to what the Caribbean of their dreams is, and not some large chain monstrosity of a Nassau Hotel, where you could be anywhere in the world.

If that sounds like you, then Compass Point would be ideal.

The top Harbour Island Hotel just has to be The Rock House Hotel, and there are many reasons for this. Firstly it has been given this rating by many people and organizations, and they can't all be wrong. At first sight it may not appear the ideal place for a Bahamas Honeymoon Vacation, as you are staying at an hotel, which isn't exactly the quietest place in the Caribbean

One thing is certain, and that is if you are looking for a small boutique hotel for let us say a Bahamas Honeymoon, and one that definitely doesn't allow children, then the ten room hotel that is the Rock House is the place.

In fairness you will either love it or hate it, but the number of return guests does say something very strongly.

This is not a hotel where you come to as an escape from twenty first century life, because it is far too action packed and noisy for that, with rock and roll music playing all the time. The whole feel of the place is not anything like an hotel, but much more like you are staying in a villa owned by a friend.

Four of the nine rooms are in the main building, and these rooms are right next door to the bar, the restaurant, and generally where people hang out in the evenings, so it is noisy and sociable until around eleven o'clock when non guests are asked to leave the premises. Bearing this in mind you can see that The Rock House Hotel Harbour Island isn't the kind of place where you may never meet another guest. It's fantastic if your idea of a vacation is to socialize and let your hair down a bit!! In fact your fellow guests will include a number of what can only be described as trendy people, all very fashionable, so if that is your scene, then Rock House on Harbour Island is very much the place for you.

What it is that makes people return here, is a mixture of the service, the incredible owners, the beautifully well maintained pool area, and of course the atmosphere, they have worked so hard to create. The Rock has been described with some justification as 'drop dead gorgeous', and is so beautiful you could spend the whole day just gazing at it. The service is of the very best, with an exceptionally good restaurant. You need to be aware that Wednesday evenings is an especially busy time in the restaurant due to it being closed evening elsewhere, but you will always be able to get a table, even a late reservation as a Rock House Hotel resident.

The Rock House Hotel is not on the beach, and whilst this does enable some fabulous views at dawn and dusk from the bedrooms, which by the way are very much in keeping with the rest of this stylish boutique hotel, with a lot of attention to detail, it does mean a short if interesting journey to the beach by golf cart, of around sixty seconds!!.

The Rock Island Hotel has its own part of the Pink Sands Beach, which is beautiful in its own right. Here you will find comfortable beach chairs and a cooler right by with whatever you want in the way of drinks, and even a picnic lunch, if you don't want to try a local restaurant.

Finally the service is fantastic, something you don't always find in the Bahamas, and the staff will know your food and drink likes and dislikes almost immediately. You will be treated like royalty.

If you like this type of vacation, then The Rock House Hotel on Harbour Island could well be the answer to your Bahamas Vacation or honeymoon. Just don't expect it to be restful!!

A Bahamas Beach Resort right on the north end of Long Island called the Cape Santa Maria Beach Resort could be the perfect place to spend a Bahamas Vacation. If you can stay in one of the Beachfront Villas, then for goodness sake try to afford it. They are top end quality with accommodation stretching to over 1800 square feet, with stunning uninterrupted views, overlooking the three mile long beach.

You will find an enclosed porch, a huge living room/dining room/kitchen area. There are two separate bathrooms, one with a Jacuzzi. They are well kitted out with TV and DVD player, wireless internet access, though why anyone would want that on vacation, and a washer/dryer. All in all beautifully designed and appointed, which reflects the elegant and relaxed style of the Cape Santa Maria Beach Resort.

The villas are part of the Cape Santa Maria Beach Resort, but can also be purchased as well as rented.

They are positioned at the south end of the resort but only a short walk from the bar and restaurant.

The beach here is about the best the Bahamas has to offer, in fact it has been described as one of the best beaches in the world, and that is saying something, which makes it the perfect Bahamas Vacation destination. The water even in mid winter is warm, and the colours are a staggering mix of turquoise, blue and green. The soft white sand beach is just perfect to stroll along, and at the north end is a well protected cove, and the southern end is a reef and rock area where you can snorkel to your hearts content.

Whilst you can cook in your kitchen area, the restaurant at Cape Santa Maria Beach Resort is very good and there is lots of it. The menu offers something for everyone. The cuisine is a touch of Caribbean flair, with great flavours, and utterly fresh.

By Bahamas standards the food is relatively inexpensive, and with the dollar sterling euro exchange rate at the time of writing, which is March 2008 almost a bargain for Europeans. The main problem about self catering in the kitchen is the fact you'll have to hire a car, and drive a fair distance for provisions. You should just enjoy the restaurant at this fine Bahamas resort, and take a work free vacation instead of having to cook.

The staff at a resort are very much what can make the difference to a vacation. You can have the best beach, beautiful weather, great food, good accommodation, and have it ruined by poor attitude from the staff. Here at Cape Santa Maria Beach Resort the staff are very professional, and very attentive and just add to the Bahamas vacation experience.

Many reports indicate that guests have rated the Cape Santa Maria Beach Resort as not only their best vacation in the Bahamas, but their best vacation ever anywhere, which is some praise indeed.

To conclude, Cape Santa Maria Beach Resort is a great place for a Bahamas vacation, especially if you are happy with a wonderful beach, and don't want the hassle of leaving the resort, because everything on Long Island is a drive away. If you are happy to walk on the beach, swim, take out a hobie cat, snorkel, take a massage, and eat and drink, then this will be ideal.

Article Title: Siboney Beach Club In Antigua A Secluded Romantic Caribbean Resort

    *********************** ARTICLE START ***********************

Siboney in Antigua first came into my radar when I was researching, privately locally owned hotels in Antigua.

It struck me as possibly one of the more secluded romantic Caribbean resorts, and so having spent my honeymoon in Cocos in what I still think is one of the best Caribbean honeymoons hotels, I was anxious to return and try the Siboney Beach Club.

We stayed on the top, third floor in a one bedroom suite, with a small kitchen. It was very comfortable, well decorated, but we would have liked it air conditioned throughout. Only the bedroom has airconditioning, and not the other rooms, which could be unbearably hot, even with a ceiling fan.

There were also mossies but Deet took care of that problem, and I don't wish to be critical really because the Siboney Beach Club gave us a great vacation, not least because of the input of the owner Tony Johnson who has a handle on everything, and it is so nice to stay in an hotel where the owner and not a faceless manager is so ever present.

Siboney is located at the far end of Dickenson Bay, although it's not as beautiful as we were led to believe, with a Sandals resort to the right of the hotel, the beach there was far too busy, but in fairness go to the left past some crumbling buildings and you come upon a lovely deserted beach, totally peaceful.

There is an excellent restaurant right next to the hotel called the Coconut Grove, literally right on top of the beach, with superb food, at breakfast lunch and dinner, although at a price!

Be careful in Antigua with your money, because everything is in US$, not EC$ as it should be, and it can be difficult to get your hands on cash from an ATM, because they seem to be permanently empty!!

There is a lovely good size pool in the beautifully lush, and well maintained gardens, and you'll often have it to yourself.

The sunsets are another memory of Siboney in Antigua, seen with the inevitable rum punch in hand.

Siboney in Antigua is undoubtedly one of the more secluded romantic Caribbean Resorts, and is exactly the right place to stay for people like us who hate all-inclusive gin palaces.

This is not an Antigua resort review in the typical sense of the word, but it is an Antigua vacation review, and not one where Antigua's best resorts will be the ones you expect.

In this article I will ask you to forget the all inclusive resort, and instead look for lovely local establishments offering a totally laid back alternative. A real hideaway dream spot compared to the characterless chain resort frequented by those people who believe that where they are staying is the real Caribbean.

All over the Caribbean there are independently owned small hotels, and guesthouses offering a far more relaxed alternative, far closer to the real Caribbean experience. They may not offer an International buffet experience but you will be able to eat out in local restaurants, eat fresh caught seafood as it is landed.

There are two things in particular you should note. The first is that every dollar you spend will go into the local economy and not to the Marriott, Hilton, Meridian International Chains far away from Antigua.

The second thing which affects your personal economy is that you will pay per room, and not per person, and in this way you will save a small fortune.

Here is a list with a brief description of some of the best locally owned hotels in Antigua.

Cocos is 12 Caribbean Style Bungalows overlooking Jolly harbour Beach, with a pool, sailing, and kayaking. A great restaurant which predates the hotel, this is very secluded with stunning views of the sunset, but no air-conditioning

Admirals Inn was built in Nelson's time, and is right by the water's edge in Nelson's Dockyard National Park Good restaurant, and close to other places to eat and drink. This is the place if you like sailing, but again no air conditioning.

Siboney Beach Club is on the beach at Dickenson Bay, and is an all suite hotel, with one of the best restaurants. It has beautiful gardens and a lovely pool, all beautifully maintained.

Country Inn Cottages is a five minute drive into the hills from Falmouth Harbour. You can choose the cottages for total privacy, or large families can choose the main house. There are restaurants close by for eating, and a pool, again with beautifully lush gardens.

Catamaran Hotel is set on Falmouth Harbour next to a marina, and has 14 rooms. All rooms have their own kitchen, and there are accessible restaurants, although there is no pool.

This is just a few examples of what can be found, so there is no need to have a bland stay in Antigua's best resorts, go local instead, it will cost you less, and you'll have more fun!!

Bilbao Airport is a public airport located 9 km north of Bilbao. It's in the municipality of Loiu, in the Basque country. Bilbao Airport is one of the most important airports in the Northern Europe. Bilbao is also one of the major tourist attractions in Spain, as it lies within one of the largest metropolitan areas in Spain.

The main urban core of Bilbao is surrounded by two small mountain ranges. The ranges act as the natural border of the city. Bilbao is also the second large industrialized city in Spain behind Barcelona. Now a days Bilbao is enjoying a major revitalization process, kicked off by the famous Bilbao Guggenheim Museum, and followed by infrastructure investment such as airport terminal, the rapid transit system, the tram line and some renewal projects.

Bilbao is famous for its theatres, cinemas, opera and concert halls. Like in other Spanish cities night life is colorful and energetic, with clubs and cafes. Semana Grande is the main festival of Bilbao. This festival approximately draws 100,000 tourists every year. The festival lasts for 9 days. The festival will start from the 3rd week of august every year. People around the globe fly over to Spain to witness this amazing festival. It is the Boss of all festivals in Spain, featuring Bull fights, fireworks, dance and music, and so much more.

The transportation system mainly constitutes of bus lines. There are 43 bus lines. The second option is to hire a car at Bilbao Airport. Taxis are available both inside and outside the airport. They can take you to anywhere in town. For a taxi ride from airport to Bilbao city you have to spend approximately 15 Euros. If you don't want to spend that much on travels, there are buses. But for easier and comfortable travel around the city, car hire is encouraged. There is lot of cheap car hire available.

Now a day's its even possible to book a car even before you reach the city. This way you can be sure that there will be a car waiting outside the airport terminal to pick you only. The prior bookings are always encouraged as you might find it bit difficult to find the right cab to tour you through the city.

The tourism in Bilbao started way back in 1872 by establishing railway between Bilbao and some of its costal neighbor. This helped the city to become a modest beach destination. But the actual touristic wave started by the inauguration of Guggenheim Museum in 1997.This result in a significant leap in the number of tourists visits per year. Initially most of its tourism came from inside Spain. Now a day, large numbers of international tourists are paving a visit. Tourism generates a huge amount in revenue for the Biscayan Country and major part of it comes from Bilbao.

The transportation details are collected from Car Hire Bilbao. If you're planning to visit Spain for your vacations, check out Car Hire Spain. You can also hire any car from Car Hire.
