An iPod is a device that can store all the music you love, which you can carry around with you everywhere you go. And did we mention the hundreds and thousands of songs you can put in it? Ever since the release of the first iPod in 2001, it's been considered iconic. Today there is a lot we know about iPods. But there is also a lot about them that are out of this world!

The first iPods had a body made of white Lucite and chrome. A couple of years later the iPod Mini was released, which was a third smaller than the original iPod. Then came the smallest of all the iPods, which was the Shuffle. In fact, the Shuffle is the size of a stick gum. Yes, we know about these iPods and their very familiar white headphones.

The iPod is an incredible thing. Let's now talk about the larger iPod and iPod Mini. These babies use a very tiny hard disk for storage. The Shuffle utilizes a kind of memory called flash. This shouldn't be compared to the memory found in computers. What's good about flash memory is all the contents do not get lost when you switch the power button off. Over time, storage capacity of all iPods increases as the costs and capacities of the hard disks and flash memories keep falling.

iPods were iconic and it's beginning to ring true for their wonderful accessories. In the beginning, there were scratch-resistant cases. Then there were colorful ear buds and high-fidelity speakers that transformed the music player into a digital boom box. Ipod accessories have become so popular, the value of the iPod accessory market has been estimated to be $1 billion.

And that's not all when it comes to iPod accessories. The market seems to have a knack for all things strange and simply outlandish. Imagine getting your iPod a leather thong case. Yes, that is just one of the things you can get to add on to your music player. Or how about a dock that also serves as a tissue holder for your bathroom? In the world of iPods, anything is indeed possible.

While some will consider these wacky accessories to be more of a stylish addition than something useful, there are quite a few that still prove to have a slightly higher purpose. There are accessories like the iSticky Pad, which you can use to stick your iPod in your car so it doesn't move around too much. Who wouldn't admit this isn't a fun accessory as well?

There are many reasons to get excited about iPod accessories. You might be the type who simply wants to protect your third arm, aka your iPod. On the other hand, you might simply want to personalize your iPod experience. iPods are generally pretty good looking devices with their simple and sleek designs. So there's much room to improvise on your own there.

Next, you might know one shop that sells cheap iPods. But did you know there are cheap ways to buy an iPod? It all boils down to making a buying strategy.

First, try getting the model before the latest ones. It may not have all those new and sophisticated features, but it can still store all the music you want. You may also get a used iPod from reputable sources such as eBay and Amazon. There are actually many used iPods that are still in top condition. For even better quality, go for refurbished iPods, which were rarely used but still given new parts so that they look just like new. Don't forget to look out for coupons and discounts.

For great ipod offers visit http://www.dragonrewards.com/browse/all/iPod/all

As you can see, there is a lot more to iPods than music and videos. IPods do create a whole new meaning for fun technology!

In response to the emergence of spyware, a small industry has sprung up dealing in anti-spyware software. Running anti-spyware software has become a widely recognized element of computer security best practices for Microsoft Windows desktop computers. A number of jurisdictions have passed anti-spyware laws, which usually target any software that is surreptitiously installed to control a user's computer

The first recorded use of the term spyware occurred on October 16, 1995 in a Usenet post that poked fun at Microsoft's business model.Spyware at first denoted hardware meant for espionage purposes. According to a 2005 study by AOL and the National Cyber-Security Alliance, 61 percent of surveyed users' computers had some form of spyware. 92 percent of surveyed users with spyware reported that they did not know of its presence, and 91 percent reported that they had not given permission for the installation of the spyware.

Many anti spyware downloads that you come across on the internet are free (for personal users, not for businesses). How can they afford to give something so important away for free? And how good are these anti spyware downloads if they are free? Well, anti spyware downloads are just about the best deals on the planet. Because they are supported with discreet advertising, computer security software companies can afford to give a version out for free. They are also hoping that you will by future products from them after this free sample.

"The Printer Doesn't Work AGAIN": Often, sudden inexplicable problems with your printer is due to spyware infection, as the printer has trouble understanding what your computer is telling it top print. They can communicate smoothly again by installing anti spyware downloads. Theeee Coooopppuuuuttterrrr IIssss SSSlllooooooowwwwwwww: Spyware and key logging programs do not seek to cripple your computer, they just want to track your every online move to report back to Mr. Big. This can really slow your computer down. Anti-spyware can usually speed your computer back up.

"Where Did These Emails Come From?": Lots of times, you'll start getting emails that claim they are returning your email. But you never sent any emails off to these addresses in the first place. That's usually because of spyware. Anti spyware downloads can resolve this problem. The Revenge Of The Pop Up Ads: More annoying than cell phone commercials, pop-up ads can waste your time and your computer's memory. If you are off line and get pop-up ads, that's a blinking red neon sign that your computer needs ant-spyware ASAP.

"Jane — Stop This Crazy Thing!": If it seems more and more that working on your computer is like riding a bucking bronco, then you have spyware or a key logging program. The "bucks" can include sudden crashes, new windows suddenly opening up to reveal ads, sudden computer memory loss, or your normal search engine has inexplicably been changed to another. This can all be easily fixed with an anti-spyware downloads. There are a mind-boggling array of anti spyware downloads to choose from. In order to decide, talk to your trusted friends about what security measures they use. You might ask your co-workers as well. Most consumers would rather go with a name they've at least heard of rather than just take the first program with the word free next to it.

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is a system of healing from China. While TCM is regarded as an alternative medicine system in the West, in China and other Asian countries, it is practiced widely by the locals. Medical practitioners are trained in the diagnostic and healing techniques with centuries of tradition and philosophy. Like naturopathy, TCM is holistic. It considers all aspects of the person including physical, nutritional, emotional, mental and spiritual for diagnosis. TCM is based on the balance of opposing elements (the yin and yang) in the body, as well as their harmony with the environment around it. The two main forces of yin and yang combine to form the "qi" (pronounced as "chee") or universal life force. When qi is in harmony, health is not only enhanced but also the capacity for fufilment, happiness and well being. Disease and illness arise from imbalances of yin and yang that block the proper flow of qi. Therapies to treat disease are aimed at restoring the balance and unblocking the flow to restore health.

TCM is primarily non-invasive. TCM treatments include the use of Chinese herbs, acupuncture, meditation, Chinese massage therapy, mental and physical disciplines such as Tai Chi and Qigong and nutritional therapy. Practitioners will attempt to realign the body's balance using a combination of treatments before suggesting surgery by a Western Doctor. Medicine in China is very different than anywhere else in the world, and the basic premise to medicine in China is that natural, alternative methods of treatment are better than more conservative methods, such as prescription medications which are more popular in Western medicine.

Chinese medicine is truly one of the greatest herbal systems in the world, and throughout its history it has continually developed in response to changing clinical conditions. It features a very systematic approach and clinical effectiveness and medicine in China includes all oriental traditions emerging from Southeast Asia that have their origins in China. Chinese herbal medicine is based on the concept of Yin and Yang and is successfully used for a wide range of conditions. In Chinese medicine, health is represented as a balance and rather than just aiming to control or relieve the symptoms of the illness, the point is to look at the patient as a whole and determine the cause of the illness or disease.

This is a much more practical approach to medicine because it looks to improve the patient's well-being long term, rather than just eliminating the problem at hand. Medicine in China implements a number of different systems, and one of the most performed procedures in Chinese medicine is acupuncture. Acupuncture involves inserting thin needles through the skin at specific points on the body in order to relieve pain and other symptoms. It is thought to decrease pain by increasing the release of chemicals that block pain. Acupuncture can help with a variety of conditions but in particular is used to treat chronic pain such as headaches, menstrual cramps, low back, and muscle pain.

There are many other systems involved in Chinese medicine as well and which are quickly becoming incredibly popular around the world, particularly in the West where more people are realizing the advantages that more natural methods of treatment have to offer and turning from more conservative, conventional methods to these. If you are interested in using medicine in China yourself you will first want to make yourself more educated and informed on the matter. You should also speak to your doctor to make sure that you are not putting yourself at any risk. Even better would be if you spoke to an herbalist who will be educated specifically in this area. Although herbs are natural and typically completely safe to use, they are still a form of medicine and so you still need to exercise caution when using them.

Although it might seem new to Westerners, there is a long and respected history of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). Westerners tend to look for the newest and most high-tech forms of medicine and ignore anything considered "old-fashioned" (ie – useless). But ask yourself – just why is TCM still around if it has had such a long history? It is still being used today because, for many people, TCM works.

We are beginning to see that each myth, superstition or legend was founded on truth. There was a city of Troy, for example. "An apple a day keeps the doctor away" is true (as long as it's a fresh apple and not candied or made into pie filling.) There is more legend than facts that can be proved in the history of Traditional Chinese Medicine, but that doesn't make the medical system any less effective. Legends about the origins of the history of Traditional Chinese Medicine state it began over 5,000 years ago. The first written records we have only go back so far as 2,000 years ago, which is still a long time. It is called the Hung-De Nie-Jing (The Yellow Emperor's Canon of Internal Medicine). This written record refers to much older records about the origins of medical treatments, but those older works have yet to be found.

Acupuncture has a clearly recorded history of about 2,000 years, but some authorities claim that it has been practiced in China for some 4,000 years. The Chinese believe that the practice of acupuncture began during the Stone Age when stone knives or sharp edged tools, described by the character 'Bian', were used to puncture and drain abscesses. In fact the Chinese character 'Bian' means the 'use of a sharp edged stone to treat disease', and the modern Chinese character 'Bi', representing a disease of pain, is almost certainly derived from the use of 'Bian stones' for the treatment of painful complaints. The history of Traditional Chinese Medicine is loaded with medical firsts. It is the first to recommend reading the pulse as a key diagnostic tool. It is the first to map acupressure and acupuncture points in order to keep the body working harmoniously. It is one of the first medical systems to emphasize exercise. It provided one of the first detailed looks at human anatomy and the first recorded use of narcotic drugs for medicinal purposes.

The long, meticulously detailed history of Traditional Chinese Medicine reached a crucial point during China's Cultural Revolution in 1966 – 1976. In that time, the government wanted China to forge a new identity and obliterate any "old-fashioned" ways – including TCM. Many TCM practitioners were jailed or killed outright. Fortunately, many TCM practitioners fled China and were given sanctuary in other countries. They have kept the great history of Traditional Chinese Medicine from a needless end. China has since regretted the Cultural Revolution and now welcomes TCM. The World Health Organization (WHO) endorsed TCM as a valid healing system in 1980.

Menopause usually occurs between the ages of 45 and 55. At this time, menstrual cycles cease, and there is a drop in hormone levels, especially those of estrogen and progesterone. During menopause, a woman's body produces less estrogen. This can cause changes that occur slowly over time. Some women find these changes uncomfortable. Treatment with hormone therapy (HT) may relieve some symptoms of menopause, but also poses some health risks. Menopause is accompanied by myriad symptoms ranging from moodiness and insomnia to hot flashes and vaginal dryness. In the Western world, the decrease in hormones increases the risk of osteoporosis and heart disease. The role of diet and exercise and other environmental factors is also important. Herbal medicine has been around and been used for ages, and for the treatment of a variety of health conditions. Regardless of the specific illness or disease you are suffering from there is an herbal medicine that can help relieve your pain, and one option in particular is herbal medicine for menopause.

When it comes to herbal medicine for menopause there are a few different options that you have to choose from. Dong quai and ginseng have both proven as being incredibly effective for hot flash relief, and practitioners believe that they work by putting mild plant estrogens or plant hormones back into the system, thereby helping to offset menopause's estrogen deficit.

St. John's Wort is another commonly used herbal medicine for menopause, and in particular it has been shown to have benefits for the psychological symptoms that are experienced around menopause. Women tend to get rather emotional when they are going through menopause, and St. John's Wort is one herbal medicine that is able to help relieve this emotion, namely anxiety.

If you are more interested in using a combination of herbs for relief of your menopause, then you may want to consider using an herbal medicine for menopause such as MellowPause, which features black cohosh as one of its main ingredients. Because black cohosh has mild estrogen like effects it is able to bind to estrogen receptors without actually raising estrogen levels in the body. This in turn results in lowering the estrogenic activity of the body in general. Taking herbal medicines for menopause can be very advantageous, and you can feel safe in knowing that you are not consuming any harsh or unknown ingredients. Rather you are using safe, plant-based medicines that are natural and effective and which are not going to harm you or come with any of the negative, uncomfortable side effects that most prescription medications do.

Even though herbal medicine is natural and safe, you still want to go through your doctor before starting yourself on any herbal medicines in order to ensure that you are choosing the right herbs for your particular condition, menopause or other, and to make sure that you are not putting yourself at any risk.

You have to remember that just because herbal medicine is considered as being much safer than conventional medicine it is still a form of medicine nonetheless and needs to be used with caution and care.

Depression has come more and more to the forefront in health care in recent years. A great percentage of ailments that individuals present to their doctors today seem to have some form of mental/emotional complication which can be perceived as depression. The millions of individuals suffering clinical or symptomatic depression can experience great benefit from some specific attention to their own health as well as guidance from a health professional who understands the basic tenets of natural medicine. It is believed that in America approximately twenty million people in any year experience depression. There are currently numerous medications that doctors can prescribe to help reduce and perhaps eliminate depression in patients. Therapy is also used alone or is combined with depression medications which can be an effective combination. Some people choose to take herbal medicine for depression for a variety of reasons.

This is one of the more common and well known herbal medicines used for depression. St. John's Wort is a plant and the flowers from the plant are used to produce the herbal medicine. There is scientific evidence that shows that St. John's Wort is actually effective in helping patients who have mild or moderate depression. There have been two major studies performed on the effectiveness of St. John's Wort on people who have to deal with major depression and both studies found that the herb was no more successful in treating the patients' major depression than a placebo.

St. John's Wort a somewhat popular herbal medicine used for depression does have unwanted side effects including sensitivity when exposed to sunlight, anxiety, dry mouth can occur, some people feel dizzy, fatigue occurs, headaches are experienced, gastrointestinal problems have been reported and sexual dysfunction. It can have negative effects on the way your body processes some drugs including slowing down or increasing the speed of processing drugs. Some of the drugs that are known to be affected by St. John's Wort include Irinotecan, Indinavir, Warfin, birth control pills and anitidepressents. Researchers are not quite sure of the possible harmful long term effects from taking the herb. Research shows that you might have to take the herb for about four to six weeks before it will help you with your depression.

This is a variety of the good fat that is required for normal brain functions. The human body does not produce this substance. Some studies have shown a connection between having al low level of Omega 3 fatty acids and depression. Some researchers and doctors suggest that the patients' anti-depression medicines will work more effectively if taken with Omega -3 fatty acids. You can find the substance in fish oil pills. You can choose to eat colds water fish such as sardines, salmon and anchovies in order to increase your level of Omega 3 fatty acids.

Sam-e also known as S-adenosyl-L-methionine is considered a chemical and it is found in our bodies. Researchers believe it can increase the amount of serotonin and dopamine you have in your body and these increases can help reduce your depression. Sam-e is an over the counter product. Studies have shown that people who are on anti-depressants don't receive the full effect of the medications if they have a lower than normal level of foliates in their system. Increasing your foliate level with supplements or by eating foods containing foliates such as green leafy vegetables, beans, some fruits and vegetables and fortified grains. Talk to your doctor before you take herbal medicines for depression.

Called guayaba in Spanish-speaking countries and goiaba in Brazil, guava is a common shade tree or shrub in door-yard gardens in the tropics. It provides shade while the guava fruits are eaten fresh and made into drinks, ice cream, and preserves. Guava herbal medicine has been around and been used for ages, and although it has proven time and time again to be incredibly effective and successful at treating sickness and disease, it is important that you take the time to learn about guava and understand what it has to offer before using it yourself.

Guava fruit today is considered minor in terms of commercial world trade but is widely grown in the tropics, enriching the diet of hundreds of millions of people in the tropics of the world. Guava has spread widely throughout the tropics because it thrives in a variety of soils, propagates easily, and bears fruit relatively quickly. The fruits contain numerous seeds that can produce a mature fruit-bearing plant within four years. In the Guava is known for being one of the most popular therapeutic plants in the Philippines. It is used as an antiseptic, astringent and anthelminthic, and kills bacteria, fungi, and ameba. The fresh leaves of the plant are used to facilitate the healing of wounds and cuts and are also very effective for toothaches.

The Tikuna Indians decoct the leaves or bark of guava as a cure for diarrhea. In fact, an infusion or decoction made from the leaves and/or bark has been used by many tribes for diarrhea and dysentery throughout the Amazon, and Indians also employ it for sore throats, vomiting, stomach upsets, for vertigo, and to regulate menstrual periods. The health benefits of guava herbal medicine are truly incredible, and in particular it contains quercetin which is an antioxidant that blocks enzymes that are responsible for building sorbitol, the sugar that forms the cloudy white clusters that cause cataracts. Guava is also rich in folate which helps to fight bad breath that causes gum disease gingivitis.

Guava herbal medicine is only one aspect to Chinese medicine however, and there are many other options as well when it comes to herbal medicine. Besides guava herbal medicine one of the most popular herbal medicines is green tea. Green tea has been around and been used for ages but only recently has it really come into serious popularity. Green tea medicine has shown to have even more health benefits than guava herbal medicine, and this is largely due to the catechins that are found in green tea. These catechins, otherwise known as polyphenols, have been shown in recent studies to fight viruses, slow aging, and have a beneficial effect on health in general. Green tea helps to reduce high blood pressure, lower blood sugar, and even fight cancer.

There are also many powerful antioxidants found in green tea, one in particular being epigallocatechin gallate which is at least 100 more times effective than vitamin C and 25 more effective than vitamin E when it comes to protecting cells and DNA from damage linked to illness and disease. Herbal medicines are extracts from plants and flowers that are used to treat and prevent illness, and they have been used for a wide range of different conditions, including headaches, depression, PMS, and insomnia. Just make sure to remember that herbal medicine, although natural and basically completely safe, is still a form of medicine and so you have to use it with caution and follow recommended dosage instructions.

Chinese medicine has proven time and time again to be incredibly valuable and effective and is able to treat a variety of health conditions. Chinese medicine for a migraine has proven to be very successful, and so if you suffer from migraines and have tried other methods of treatment before with no success then you may want to make Chinese medicine the next step. Chinese medicine for a migraine has been used for centuries now, and there are a few products in particular that you will want to check out if you are interested in trying Chinese medicine for a migraine for yourself.

Migraine headaches can be debilitating to those who suffer from them. When our lives suffer from tension, our bodies can store emotions that we find difficult to deal with. Our bodies can sometimes do such an efficient job of storing difficult emotions for us that we do not even know that we felt these emotions in the first place. Eventually our body overloads and acts up. Migraine headaches can be one manifestation of our body overloading with pent up emotions.

A number of patterns can result in migraines. The first is a pattern of Blood Deficiency. The theory is that the person's circulation is poor due to low energy and poor nutrition, along with depletion of the body's resources. This depletion can be due to stress or anxiety. Blood Deficiency results in poor circulation to the area of the head resulting in migraines. Some of the symptoms associated with this type of migraine would include one or more of the following: poor vision, dizziness when standing up from a sitting position, insomnia or fitful dream disturbed sleep, tiredness, a pale complexion, and heart palpitations.

Another pattern that can result in migraines is called Liver Fire Rising, and certainly this phrase is an apt description of the intensity of pain that a migraine can cause for those who suffer from this condition. People who suffer from this condition often have a fiery temperament. They can be irritable, have a flushed complexion, and they may eat a lot of spicy food. Their migraines can be very intense with flashing lights in the eyes.

This is one Chinese herbal product that you can use to relieve the pain caused by your migraines. Specifically, it is used to improve blood circulation and relieve inflammation. The ingredients include magnolia bark, angelica root, siler root, curcuma tuber, and feverfew herb.

Another great product is Head Clear, which is great not just for migraines but for all types of congestion in the head. It is used for pain, swelling and inflammation of the head, neck, eyes, and throat, and can be used for migraines as well as for hay fever, toothache, facial neuralgia and influenza. A few of the ingredients in this product are Bai Zhi, Bo He, Chai Hu, Gan Cao, Gao Ben, Ge Gen, Ge Hua, Huang Ju Hua, Zi Su Ye, Qiang Huo, Lian Qiao, Sang Ye, and Zi Su Ye.

Another Chinese medicine for a migraine that you can use is Head Relief. It is a Chinese herbal formula that has been tried and tested for years now and was created as an herbal alternative to the more commonly used over the counter analgesics such as acetaminophen and aspirin. Chinese medicine has been around and used for centuries now and has proven to be incredibly effective in treating sickness and disease. Even for people who have tried various treatment methods to no avail, Chinese medicine can be successful and not only treat present health conditions but prevent reoccurrences as well. Before you start taking any Chinese medicine you should do some research and make sure that you are as educated and informed on the matter as possible. Chinese medicine is natural and safe but is still a form of medicine and you need to be cautious and responsible. Make sure that you still work together with your doctor so that they can keep an eye on your progress.

Chinese herbal medicine is one of the great herbal systems of the world, with an unbroken tradition going back to the 3rd century BC. Yet throughout its history it has continually developed in response to changing clinical conditions, and has been sustained by research into every aspect of its use. This process continues today with the development of modern medical diagnostic techniques and knowledge. Because of its systematic approach and clinical effectiveness it has for centuries had a very great influence on the theory and practice of medicine in the East, and more recently has grown rapidly in popularity in the West. It still forms a major part of healthcare provision in China, and is provided in state hospitals alongside western medicine.

Some Chinese medicines are promoted as having the ability to help people loose weight by primarily causing peoples' metabolisms to act more efficiently. Other types of Chinese medicines for weight loss are thought to assist the human body in processing fat substances in a more effective manner as well as stopping the accumulation in the body of unhealthy fats. Another variety of Chinese medicines for weight loss act to provide a boost to the metabolism.

Herbs that can help the body from developing fatty deposits are immature citrus peel, magnolia bark and citrus aurantium. Herbs that are thought to have the ability to improve the functioning of your metabolism and increase your energy are astragalus, atractylodes and ginseng. Some herbalists also recommend cinnamon, ginger, eucommia bark and epimedium. With the increase in your level of energy it will be easier to partake in workouts and this will assist you in losing undesirable weight. These herbs can be helpful for people who seem to gather unwanted weight in the stomach area.

Some Chinese medicines for weight loss are affective by supposedly reducing stress, depression, anxiety and other types of emotional conditions that can cause people to over eat. This category of herbs includes mint, magnolia bark and biota seeds. Some herbalists recommend bitter herbs such as coptis and Chinese rhubarb that are considered useful in detoxification and they supposedly lower inflammatory and acidic situations in your body which seem to cause people to desire large amounts of food. These herbs might not be found in your basic grocery store so you will probably have to do some research in order to find out where you can purchase them in your area or perhaps you would prefer the convenience of buying them on the internet.

Bao He Wan is a Chinese medicine for weight loss which some people suggest might help you loose weight by reportedly improving your digestion system. It is sold as a wafer. It includes Shan Zha which helps the body digest meats and fatty substances, Shen Ou to increase you digestive systems' ability to digest alcohol and rice, it also contains an herb named Lai Fu Zi which improves the digestion of starchy items and a couple other helpful herbs. This product does have some unwanted side affects.

A lot of the Chinese medicines for weight loss have not been scientifically proven in independent laboratories to be effective in helping people loose weight so use your judgment before you try these products and consult with your doctor. Chinese medicines taken for weight loss will not solve your weight problem unless you stick to a healthy diet and exercise because they are not going to perform miracles for you.

While mental health is often considered a separate issue from one's physical well-being, the two have always been linked in the practice of traditional Chinese medicine. In TCM, emotions and thoughts are considered to have a direct impact on the physical health of a person, and furthermore, mental and physical health are equally valued. Because of the importance placed on the mind in traditional Chinese medicine, there are many methods available within the profession that are geared toward the renewal, healing, and upkeep of mental wellness. The use of herbs for medicinal purposes have been around since people began keeping track of illnesses and the effective healing capabilities of several botanicals. Even today Chinese herbal medicine remains as a supplement too many conventional treatments used on Chinese patients. For those without the resources to make western medicines available, Chinese herbal medicine may be the only treatment they receive.

In recent years many studies in various countries around the globe have tested Chinese herbal medicine for it healing affects for a variety of illness. While many of the patients in study groups have experienced improvement over prolonged and controlled test periods, there were often complications with patients taking conventional medicine at the same time. Ironically, the use of Chinese herbal medicine was recommended to be discontinued while the patient was treated with synthetic drugs, even though research showed that the herbal medication alone would not cause the same response. A study confirmed that Chinese herbal medicine was successful in offering relief for rheumatoid arthritis in patients, with the herb performing as an anti-inflammatory. It has been credited with offering the same relief realized by patients taking steroidal drugs, without the side effects.

While debate continues on the safety of many products used in Chinese herbal medicine, there have been cases in which people have suffered serious complications when mixing herbs with conventional medicine. The use of herbal medications is not controlled by the United States government and few cases of the natural products causing problems have been reported. However, studies have shown that Echinacea when used for more than eight weeks could cause toxins in the liver and should not be taken with anabolic steroids. Feverfew is another botanical used in Chinese herbal medicine for migraine headaches but studies indicate a reaction with nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs could cause a negative interaction.

St. John's Wort, often used for anxiety and stress should not be taken with medicines such as Prozac and Paxil, patients taking prescription warfarin should not combine it with herbs that affect bleeding such as feverfew, garlic, and ginseng as unexpected, uncontrolled bleeding could result. These tests and histories show that herbs used in Chinese herbal medicine may have side effects if used with conventional synthetic drugs, but do not indicate their use by themselves pose any danger to the patients. Continuing studies are being conducted to prove their effectiveness as well as their safety.

Most people with joint pain are diagnosed with arthritis, which is a general term for a number of different conditions that involve swollen, painful, and/or stiff joints. The two most common forms of arthritis are rheumatoid arthritis, which affects more than 6.5 million people in the United States alone; and osteoarthritis, which is an age-related degeneration of joints. One in seven Americans is afflicted with osteoarthritis, and some are virtually housebound by joint pain. In the West, anti-inflammatory drugs are commonly prescribed for arthritis. In the East, acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine, with their thousand-year-old history, are the major health care modalities used to fight joint and musculo-skeletal disorders including arthritis. These ancient therapies are still used because they are empirically effective, and have stood the test of time. Now they are standing to meet the tests of Western medicine.

In traditional Chinese medicine, the condition that is congruent with arthritis is called "Bi syndrome." Bi syndrome manifests as pain, soreness, or numbness of muscles, tendons and joints, and is the result of the body being "invaded" by the external climatological factors of Wind, Cold, Heat, and/or Dampness. The symptoms manifested by the individual depend on which external pathogenic factor is strong. Chinese herbal medicine views disease as an imbalance between major forces in our body—organ systems, heat versus cold, and the blockage of the flow of blood, and Qi (pronounced "chee"), the life force. Chinese herbal medicine views arthritis as restriction of the flow of blood and Qi due to an over-abundance of cold.

Arthritis and Chinese herbal medicine remedies are available in extremely complex formulations. The most common formulations are Si Miao Wan, Guan Jie Yan Win, and Du Huo Ji Sheng Wan. Most of these formulations are available as teas, extracts or tablets, which you can purchase online, from supply stores for traditional Chinese medicine, or from Asian grocery stores. Arthritis and Chinese herbal medicine formulations usually include some or all of the following herbs: Yi yi ren (Coix lachrymal jobi/Seeds of Jobs Ears seed), Fang ji (Stephania tetrandra root) , Cang zhu (Atractylodes lancea rhizome),Hai tong pi (Erythrina variegata/coral bean bark),Gui zhi (Cinnamomum cassia/cinnamon twig), Xiang jia pi (Periploca sepium root-bark), Huai niu xi (Achyranthes bidentata root),Qin jiao (Gentiana macrophylla/bitter root) ,Wu zhu yu (Evodia rutaecarpa fruit) ,Huang qin (Scutellaria baicalensis/skullcap root) , Du huo (Angelica pubescens root) , Sheng jiang (Zingiber officinale rhizome/ginger root) , Sang ji sheng (Taxillus chinensis twig/Mulberry twig, Shu di huang (Rehmannia glutinosa roo)t, Dang shen Codonopsis pilosula root), Fu ling (Poria cocos fungus), Du zhong (Eucommia ulmoides bark), Bai shao (Paeonia lactiflora root), Fang feng (Ledebouriella divaricata root), Gentiana macrophylla root, Chuan xiong (Ligusticum wallichii rhizome/lovage root), and Gan cao (Glycyrrhiza uralensis root/licorice root).

You should learn both the Chinese, and where available, the English and the scientific names of the Chinese Medicine remedies for arthritis. This way, you will be able to communicate both with merchants and your health care provider. Of course, your first consultation about your arthritis should be with your health care provider. He or she can insure that any arthritis and Chinese medicine treatments you take are safe and effective and do not interact with any other medications you may be taking. We wish you well on your healing journey.

Ancient China medicine has been around since almost the beginning of time, and it is still widely used around the world today. Traditional ancient China medicine uses the physiology and pathology of the human body, and highlights two features in particular. The first is a holistic vision and the second is the treatment of identifying causes. Traditional Chinese Medicine uses the physiology and pathology of the human body. Basic chines medicine highlights two features. This include a holistic (view as whole) vision and the treatment identifying causes. It does not identify the diseases as in the West. All of our body organs work differently, but in conjunction with each other. Disruption to regular functions causes disease. Acupuncture therapy arouses external areas of the body. The human body is more than a single entity, but is one with nature. Chinese medicine realizes that changes in the environment can change bodily rhythms as well

Ancient China medicine is truly unlike any other type of medicine in the world, and is especially different from medicine in the Western world. Practitioners of Chinese medicine states the disorders of diseases in terms of the patterns that they display, and there are eight fundamental patterns that are recognized, which are interior, exterior, heat or cold, excess, deficiency, Yin and Yang.

Ancient China medicine is truly unique, and a system of medical theory unlike any other. It is respected around the world and consists of a five-phase theory which is made up of five elements, wood, fire, earth, metal and water. The belief here is that the patient's body should be viewed as an organic whole rather than as individual parts. Therefore the main goal is not just to cover up the disease or lay the emphasis on the disease itself but rather to consider the patient as an organic whole and find out the cause of the problem so that a proper solution can be found, thereby not only eliminating the problem at hand but also preventing the disease from reoccurring in the future.

Treatments in ancient China medicine are very different than those in the West, and there is much less reliance on more conventional methods such as prescription medications. Massage, acupuncture and manipulation of body parts are more commonly used forms of treatment, and so natural is really the way to go in Chinese medicine. Ancient Chinese medicine also often includes treatments such as special diets to treat illnesses. This is why it is the preferred choice of a large number of people around the world, as more and more people are becoming aware of the dangerous effects that many medications have and in turn are turning to natural, alternative methods of treatment when it comes to their health.

More than 50,000 medicinal herbs are recorded in China, but only a small fraction is in use. A western chines practitioner generally will not use more than 200. Modern medicine may reject herbal use as unproven and even dangerous, but synthetic drugs have proved to be as harmful. A 'natural' substance is not always safe. Anything taken in excess can be harmful. The Chinese have proven traditional Chinese medicine to be beneficial from thousands of years practice. As a treatment ancient Chinese medicine is tested and found to be very safe and incredibly effective, and is being adopted by more and more conventional practitioners every day. It is also often used in conjunction with more conservative medicine in order to help alleviate health ailments and disease.

Alternative herbal medicines are considered to be preparations which contain only plant substances. A lot of herbal medicines are also known as herbal supplements. Herbal medicines are made from items such as flowers, tree bark, leaves, fruit, a variety of seeds, stems and some variety of roots. For numerous herbal medicines the efficacy has been proven but for many other herbal medicines they simply have not been thoroughly researched to determine their effectiveness in curing and dealing with diseases and illnesses.

Recently, the World Health Organization estimated that 80% of people worldwide rely on herbal medicines for some aspect of their primary healthcare. In the last twenty years in the United States, increasing public dissatisfaction with the cost of prescription medications, combined with an interest in returning to natural or organic remedies, has led to an increase in the use of herbal medicines. Since a lot of herbal medicines that are used by the public have not been thoroughly researched people ought to be concerned about the possible unwanted side affects that can result from using some of these alternative herbal medicine products. They should seriously consider whether they want to risk the potential harm that can occur from using some of these products.

Unfortunately some of the alternative herbal medicines used by the public are considered to have toxicity problems while some interact with synthetic drugs that people are taking and causing health problems. It is believed that Kava and Comfrey cause serious liver damage in people. Due to most herbal medicines not falling under some type of government regulation the quality of the herbal medications sometimes suffers and contamination and altering of the medicines do occur. This can cause health problems for people who take the products. Before you begin taking alternative herbal medicines you should consult with your physician. Follow the directions on the label and women who are pregnant or are nursing their baby might want to avoid taking them.

IF you decide to use alternative herbal medicines to help with illnesses you should consult with an expert who has been trained in herbal medicines. Herbal and other types of dietary supplements are currently controlled by the FDA and therefore are considered food items and are required to meet different standards and different guidelines for proving their safety and their effectiveness when compared to medicines. For a substantial numbers of alternative herbal medicines the active ingredients are not apparent due primarily to a lack of research. Some researchers suggest that an herbal supplement may contain numerous compounds; perhaps hundreds of compounds. Since herbal medicines have become popular with the public an increased amount of research is now going on concerning the effectiveness and the side affects of these products. You might want to search for the information that is currently available on the alternative herbal medicines that you are considering to use.

Alternative herbal medicines have been used for a variety of illnesses, for pain relief and health benefits. They have been used for such things as helping with pain from migraines, to prevent coughing, weight loss, for birth control, female infertility problems, sunburn problems, constipation and other health issues. There are resources available that provide information on the usefulness and the possible harmful side affects from using herbal medicines and supplements including the NCCAM Clearinghouse.

Today in most western cultures Chinese medicine is considered a "new alternative" medicine. In reality Acupuncture are practiced medical treatments that are over 5,000 years old. Basically, Acupuncture is the insertion of very fine needles, (sometimes in conjunction with electrical stimulus), on the body's surface, in order to influence physiological functioning of the body. Chinese medicine has been around since the start of time and is more widely used now than ever before. There are many different systems that are included in Chinese medicine and one of the most significant and one of the most popular relationships of all here is the one between alternative acupuncture and Chinese medicine.

When it comes to alternative acupuncture and Chinese medicine, one of the most important things that you need to know is that you need to understand the actual intent of the therapy itself in order to get the best results. The goal of acupuncture therapy is to promote health and to alleviate pain and suffering. It is the technique of inserting thin needles through the skin at certain specific points on the body in order to control pain and other symptoms.Acupuncture can also be used in conjunction with heat produced by burning specific herbs, this is called Moxibustion. In addition, a non-invasive method of massage therapy, called Acupressure, can also be effective.

The person performing the acupuncture therapy is known as an acupuncturist, and they are able to influence health and sickness by stimulating certain areas on the body that are known as meridians. It is now one of the most popular therapies in the world and one that evolved from principles and philosophies that are truly unique to oriental thinking and medicine in general. In order to understand about alternative acupuncture and Chinese medicine you truly need to become familiar with the basics of Chinese philosophy in general and with Chinese medicine.

There are many diseases that can be treated successfully by Acupuncture or its related treatments. The most common ailments currently being treated are: lower backache, Cervical Spondylosis, Condylitis, Arthritic Conditions, Headaches of all kinds (including migraine), Allergic Reactions, general and specific use for Analgesia (including surgery) and relief of muscles spasms. There have also been clinical trials in the use of Acupuncture in treating anxiety disorders and depression. Likewise, very high success rates have been found in treating addictions to alcohol, tobacco (nicotine) and "hard' drugs. Acupuncture can rid the body of the physical dependency, but can not rid the mind of the habit (psychological dependency). For this reason, Acupuncture treatment of addictions has not been fully successful.

Chinese medicine, including alternative acupuncture and Chinese medicine, is one of the most widely practiced forms of medicine in the world and is definitely one that you will want to become more familiar with. If you are interested in getting more information on this you should speak to your doctor, or you can do research on your own time.

Also remember that you can use Chinese medicine, acupuncture or other, in conjunction with more conservative methods of treatment, such as prescription medication for instance. Your health should come before anything, and so although alternative and natural medicine can be incredibly effective, if your illness or disease is very advanced you may have to rely on conventional methods of treatment, at least until you get the problem until control. The philosophy behind Chinese medicine is that each patient should be treated as a whole and that the focus should be on their entire well being rather than just on the symptoms they are presently experiencing. This is why Chinese medicine is so much more effective and successful overall than the methods used in Western medicine.

Yoga has been around for a very long time. For centuries, yoga experts have taught that by stretching and contracting the body, muscles joints and ligaments can be strengthened and you can relieve all sorts of pain as well. Yoga for back pain has been accepted by many chiropractors and back specialists. Before beginning yoga for back pain, consult your doctor to make sure you don't make matters worse.

Back pain can be caused by a number of situations, from slipped discs to damaged muscles or ligaments. However, back pain can also be caused by infections, bone spurs or tumors. When yoga for back pain is implemented, the pain is reduced by stretching and strengthening the spine. You must exercise proper posture and this should be practiced so that you can get relieved from the back pain even when you're not practicing yoga.

When you sign up for a yoga class, discuss with your instructor about your back pain. Tell them that you're using yoga for back pain so that they won't cause you to contort in ways you shouldn't. You should always start off easy and should refrain from doing more advanced positions.

A good starting out position is called the cobra. You perform the cobra by laying on your front, with your head facing forward. Place your hands on either side of your body as you would if you were doing pushups. Then, push with your hands, while keeping your waist on the floor, and lift your upper torso off the ground. Keep your face forward, not up, and make sure that you are stretching your back slowly. This yoga position for back pain has been known to help a lot of people but it can hurt you if done incorrectly. That's why it's so important to listen to your instructor before trying any position you're not sure of.

Yoga for back pain can help you, but need to be discussed with your doctor. You should be able to find a yoga school in your area. Many YMCA's and health clubs also offer yoga classes, and many are affordable. If you experience back pain and it keeps you from enjoying many of life's activities, then try yoga for back pain and finally live life as you once did.

While upper back pain may not be as common as lower back pain.It can cause equally debilitating pain. There are methods to avoid upper back pain and strengthening the muscles.

Persons who spend a lot of time sitting at a desk or working on a computer may find they suffer from pain similar to that of upper back pain. The main cause for this due to unusual use of shoulder muscles from being seated and typing for extended periods of time.Upper back pain is felt by those who drivie long distances and they may also find neck muscles hurting with pain radiating down into their upper back.

The lower part of the spine, called the lumbar spine and the upper part of the spine, cervical, are designed to allow strength and mobility. The upper back or mid back, also known as the thoracic spine functions to protect the organs inside and it has little motion there is little chance of injury, which might be one of the upper back pain causes.

Ribs from their connection to the spine, circle around to the front and connect at the sternum in the front. While they leave enough room for the lungs to expand, they do not allow for motion of this section of the spine. Usually, back and neck muscles are the dominant upper back pain causes.

One of the most common upper back pain causes is poor posture.Especially when typing and the hands are at chest level or slightly higher, without proper support for the elbows. Also, if the monitor is too high and the user holds their head partially down while attempting to look upwards, the pain will begin in the neck and radiate into the back.

Before seeking medical help try to adjust the posture while working at a computer terminal and make everything as comfortable as possible. If the pain persist after a day of being in the correct position, seeing a physician or orthopedic specialist can rule out any other upper back pain causes that correct posture will not alleviate.

Many people complain about upper back and chest pain, the problem may be caused by poor posture. while standing or working in a seated position the muscles in the upper back, connected to the shoulder blades becomes stressed and painful. When the pain begins suddenly it may be confused with a heart attack, since it begins mainly in the back and can feel like a spike being driven all the way through the chest cavity.

To determine if the pain is heart related, ask the person to take a deep breath. If the pain becomes worse while inhaling, there are chances of posture causing the upper back and chest pain. However, it is always better to have any pains in the chest investigated by a doctor.A wrong diagnosis by an unqualified person can be deadly.

People sit in front of a computer for extended periods with their arms held slightly up, are putting a lot of strain on the shoulder muscles, especially if their elbows are not supported. This can cause upper back and chest pain.

severe upper back and chest pain can be relieved through pinpoint massage at the central point of the pain between the shoulders. An exercise that can help to reduce this type of pain is called a shoulder raise. Standing in an upright position with arms hanging straight down, lift the shoulder as his as they will go and without dropping them down, rotate them towards the back, then allow them to be lowered. Be repeating this exercise 10 or more times twice a day, it can help alleviate and prevent upper back and chest pain.

Swimming can also help to eliminate upper back and chest pain. With the head raised to stay out of the water, the body naturally extends itself to help the muscles to become more relaxed. While seated, constant reminders to sit up straight and maintaining good posture can do wonders to relieve the causes of upper back and chest pain.

There are very few things more debilitating than severe lower back pain.Whether back pain is chronic or temporary,it causes great discomfort regardless of how the person moves. Severe lower back pain is the fifth most common reason for which people visit the doctor. It is estimated that $20 billion a year has been spent as medical expense for back pain. This could double when indirect costs are added.

Only about 10 percent of patients complaining of severe lower back pain have medical causes that requires additional treatment for things such as osteoporosis or disk alignment. The usual prescription of muscle relaxers is typically accompanied by a few days of bed rest and the patient usually returns to full mobility in three to four weeks. For patients still having trouble in moving even after four to six weeks, a return assessment and additional investigation of severe lower back pain may be needed.

Different diseases and conditions are historically associated with the age of the patient. Sometimes the cause of severe lower back pain is obvious, such as spending time with hard physical labor or lifting heavy objects.

For person aged 20 to 40, severe lower back pain may be the result of a muscle strain with the pain aggravated by movement. There may also be localized tenderness associated with the pain and a spasm of the lower back muscles may severely prevent motion of any kind. Typically, bed rest and a limited movement will end the pain. There is always the chance of recurrence if not allowed to heal properly.

A sharp shooting pain in the burning in the lower back radiating into the leg in persons between 30 and 50 may be a sign of acute disk herniation. This may also be accompanied by weakness in the reflex actions. Those aged 50 and over may suffer from osteoarthritis, causing severe lower back pain radiating into one or both legs. Pain usually increases when walking and is less evident when seated.

Infections in the spine or in the nerve sac located at the base of the spine may also be responsible for severe lower back pain, and a visit to the doctor will be necessary to get to the underlying cause of the problem.

When you encounter stomach pain, it normally means you ate something you shouldn't have. However, when stomach and back pain are combined, never ignore the symptoms. When stomach and back pain occur together, it could mean a number of things. It may be due to digestion problems, acid reflux, or nerve damage. If you do encounter both together, don't hesitate to see a doctor immediately.

When you see your doctor, he or she will want to know about the pain you're experiencing. Explain the pain exactly as you feel it. Is it a sharp pain, as if someone were jabbing you with a sharp stick, or is it a dull, recurring pain? Does the pain get worse when you sneeze or cough, does it keep you from sleeping, or does your stomach and back pain go away and come back with any kind of regularity? These are just a few of the questions your doctor will ask before examining you. The doctor will determine if the problem is minor, such as digestion problems or more serious, such as nerve damage, which could require surgery.

Stomach and back pain, especially when they occur together, should not be ignored. When you feel pain such as this, it usually means there's something going on inside and the pain is the only way to alert you about the problem. Your doctor is the one who should make the diagnosis, however, so it's important not to try any alternate treatment.Let your doctor examine your stomach and back pain as soon as it occurs, for you don't want to exacerbate it by waiting too long.

If you happen to be a sufferer of chronic or lower back pain and want to get relief from back pain without drugs? You can follow innovative method of treating the problem that does not require taking drugs and also will help you get back on your feet. At the Advanced Physical Medicine Center, there are not more than a few machines available here that help in providing patients with relief using non-invasive Intervertebral Disc Decompression (IDD) therapy.

With the help of such specialized equipment, the patients are able to get relief from back pain without drugs that too is not temporary. It also helps them to get the size of their injured discs reduced enough and also aids in surrounding soft tissues to begin functioning normally once more.

Using IDD therapy, it has been found that as many as eighty-five percent of patients treated were able to get relief from back pain without drugs or surgery. This technology which is revolutionary by nature helps you even in the case of degenerative discs, spinal stenosis and sciatic cases.

This method uses an Accu-SPINA system and helps in the reshaping of the spine with the use of latest computer technology which applies traction to those very areas that cause lower back pain. By applying negative pressure, the traction allows the flow of blood, fluids and nutrients into the affected discs that are causing you pain.It thereby provide support to the muscles as also the ligament tissue so that they may retone itself. It also let the neuromuscular system become reeducated to the changes and thus provide relief. Such treatment may be taken eighteen to twenty-four times over a period of eight weeks with each session lasting half an hour.

The advantage of using such a means to get relief from back pain without drugs is that the treatment is not at all painful.Once you are on the machine you will have a lower harness pulling at a certain angle as well as tension to give relief to the spot affected by pain. Though you may not get refund from medical insurance, the cost of such a method of getting relief from back pain without drugs is far lower than getting surgery performed and IDD therapy is also non-invasive.

It is hard to imagine life without moving your back freely as it is a most important part of the body which plays a major role in daytoday life.It is essential to keep the back free and functional. We should know the best means to avoid all forms of back pain including middle back pain. To understand what back pain is,we need to understand its structure.Vertebrae consists of thirty small bones, which are stacked one on top of the other and which use ligaments, tendons as well as muscles

    for connecting with one another.

Middle back pain or thoracic spine pain is not a very common occurrence .Usually it is caused by muscular irritation as well as joint dysfunction. There are also instances when you may injure your disk that will cause you middle back pain, though such kind of injuries are not known to happen very often. Though not all types of back pain may warrant a visit to a physician, middle back pain most often will mean consulting a doctor.

Middle back pain may occur due to poor posture, or sitting in a single position for extended periods of time. If you are sitting in a chair of poor design you could very well end up with middle back pain. Other causes include emotional worries which results in stiffness in muscles and consequent pain.

Another possible cause of middle back pain is kidney infections. The common symptoms for this are pain as well as discomfort during the passing of urine. If you have stomach ulcers you would experience middle back pain which becomes more noticeable after consuming a meal. In any case, this condition comes about due to lower back misalignment and even through lower neck misalignment.

Common warning signs of middle back pain include having a tender spot in the chest that switches on and off, needing to struggle with the breath when breathing normally, having chest pains while taking a deep breath, and also feeling pain in the chest when sneezing or coughing. This condition must be treated and the best treatment would be making gentle adjustments of the ribs as well as of the spine. In some cases, you may even use ice to reduce the swelling caused by this condition.

The spinal cord is the main part of the body's central nervous system. It conveys signals from the brain to the nerves throughout the body. Spine is one of the strongest parts in our body. It is made of solid bony blocks joined by discs to give it strength and flexibility. It is reinforced by strong ligaments and surrounded by large powerful muscles to protect.Simple back strains do not cause any lasting damage.

Your back nerve pain could be the result of a back or neck injury, so it is necessary to take care of spinal cord. It is the spine that keep us up right and give us support to get through our daily activities .

Most of us experience back pain sometime or another and the most back nerve pain will go away in a few weeks with some basic self-care. However repeated chances of getting back pain is still there. If the pain is severe or lasts a long time better to consult a doctor.

Back nerve pain is usually caused by overuse, strain, or injury. For example, people often hurt their backs while playing sports, working in the yard, from being jolted in a car accident or lifting something too heavy.

For some people, back nerve pain is the result of arthritis, osteoporosis, illness, or it is hereditary. Only a few people may need back surgery. If you have a slipped disc, or back pain with symptoms of nerve damage (such as numbness in your legs), even in these cases, most people can improve without surgery. Surgery does not always guarantee that the pain will disappear. so it is better to get a second opinion before deciding about surgery.

If you do decide to have surgery, events in your life will change drastically even after your back nerve pain surgery. Adopting new lifestyle changes to accommodate your back issues isn't easy, but with patience and motivation, you will get your life back.
