There are home business opportunities available for those entrepreneurs who don't have a lot of start up money. There are three areas to keep in mind that will help you to see these business opportunities. Think skill or talent, think opportunity and think available assets or resources. Keeping these in mind will open a whole new world of home-based job opportunities that you can begin today.

Everyone has a skill or talent that can be used to create a home based opportunity. Here are just a few examples of this. A gentleman knows how to play guitar and piano. He is very talented and could easily teach others how to play these instruments. A young woman is an avid artist and could with little money and effort teaching others to paint, draw or sculpt with clay. If you are a person who enjoys being around children, is patient and has the necessary time needed, a tutoring service can be created. Talent and skill come natural to each of us and are free. Why not put our talents to good use?

Opportunity is all around us. Often we are too preoccupied to see these opportunities that are at hand. A young man who has always wanted to play the guitar approaches the gentleman from the first paragraph. The young man shows interest and enthusiasm, yet the gentleman does not offer his skill or talent to teach this young man. This is an opportunity wasted. It is a sad occurrence for both of these men. The teacher is out of enjoyment and a job opportunity. The young man is still unable to fulfill his dream of learning the guitar. If an opportunity presents itself, one should take the chance that is presented.

Assets and resources are usually already available to many of us. For a craft maker who is interested in providing art classes, he or she would already have teaching materials. A musician already has instruments to teach with or to loan to students for a fee. The person who chooses to be a tutor or study assistant may already own a computer or set of encyclopedias. These materials are already on hand and have already been purchased. Put them to use and make a profitable living for yourself.

With all of our examples and so many more job opportunities you can begin an at home career with little to no money spent. It does take time, effort and the desire to succeed to begin one of these careers. The benefits however outweigh any amount of time and effort put in to these jobs. So take some time to consider what talents you can offer others and you may just be able to begin a home business with low capital.

Whether you are trying to save money or have realized that your expenses are starting to exceed your income, deciding to follow a budget can be one of the most financially rewarding things you can do as an adult. Many people believe that it will be impossible for them to save any money because they are living paycheck to paycheck. But often, these same people can be seen eating dinners out three times a week or spending their money in other foolish ways. In order to save money, or at the very least avoid sinking into debt, sacrifices must be made. Here are some tricks and tips to help you keep to a budget and start putting money away.

One of the very best things a person can do to stay on a budget is to start carrying cash rather than using a debit card everywhere. A debit or credit card can make you feel like you have more money than you actually do. If, instead, you take out a certain amount of money at the beginning of the week, and you stop spending when the cash is gone, you no longer run the risk of overspending. Going over the limit with your credit card or debit card can mean expensive fees as well, thus pushing you further over your budget. Carrying cash isn't the most convenient thing for the modern card carrying world, but it is a helpful trick to keep you on your budget.

Along with your cash, start going to the store with a list made out ahead of time. Make it a point to never deviate from this list. This can help you to avoid the pitfalls of impulse buying, the bane of every individual trying to stay on a budget. It can be very easy to become influenced by advertising and creative labels when surrounded by them in a store. What seemed perfectly easy to do without at home could seem necessary to your very survival when faced with it in the store. Making a list and sticking to it can help you to avoid these moments of consumer weakness.

Look for bargains. Don't be afraid to try out generic versions of your favorite products. Sometimes they won't be as good, but sometimes they will. And they are much cheaper, by and large, than the name brand alternative. Search your newspaper and mailbox for coupons and specials and sales happening at your favorite local stores. One caveat: don't allow sales and coupons to influence you to buy things you would not have otherwise purchased. The objective here is to save money, not spend more of it.

Sticking to a budget can be a difficult, but rewarding task. Set a goal for how much money you would like to save, follow these tips, and see how long it takes you to reach your goal. Chances are, it won't take nearly as long as you thought. Good luck.

If you have a hobby that you think could be turned into a full-time business venture, you should consider making the transition. Working from home doing something you enjoy is one of the greatest feelings you can have. Because we all need to earn a living, finding a job that we can be passionate about in addition to earning a steady income is a dream for most. But if you research your idea, create a business plan, and work within your means, this dream can come true.

When most people think about starting their own business, they usually come up with a million reasons why the business would fail. They may not even have an idea about what they want to sell or provide. If you already have an idea, you are ahead of most people. The next step is research to determine if there is a market for your product and if you will be able to sell it quickly and easily. Most research can be conducted at home on your computer. While you may need to visit the library, retail stores, and other outlets, you can rely on your computer to give you a lot of useful information.

Finding a market for your product may be difficult depending on what it is. But you may also find many avenues including opening your own store, selling your product at trade shows, flea markets, or online, or you may find others who are looking for products like yours and who may want to go into business with you. There are many possibilities. If you are interested in selling your product online, you can create a website or sell your product on online auction sites. The Internet has created many opportunities for those who want to sell a product, but who don't want to pay for retail space each month.

Creating a business plan is essential especially when you have a certain budget or you aren't sure how successful your business will be. A business plan is one or two pages that include your budget, your accomplishments, and any other considerations you may need to make before creating and selling your product. You can change this plan at any time if it becomes impractical or if you exceed expectations.

Since most people have to create a budget when starting their own businesses, being realistic about the cost of materials, shipping, and advertising and marketing is important. If you don't estimate enough, then you may fall short, so be sure to create a budget that fits your needs. As your business grows, you can adjust your budget and start generating a profit. This is when your will see the results of all your hard work.

The numbers of individual hopefuls who start home businesses on a daily basis are legion. As a matter of fact, it is estimated that the lion's share of newly built websites is devoted to those Internet users who are hopeful to turn their entrepreneurial leanings into a successful business that will soon eclipse the income they derive from a traditional job. Unfortunately, success measured by the very profitability that is the primary component separating a successful business venture from a hobbyist pursuit of an activity, and as such a fiscally productive home business will permit you to take your rightful place among business leaders as opposed to remaining the somewhat anonymous hobbyist who is barely breaking even.

Fiscal profitability does not happen by itself but instead it relies on the business owner's savvy in growing the business almost from its inception while keeping expenses at a bare minimum. Much to their detriment, many a home business hopeful is thrilled with the initial sale or small client base accumulated rather than immediately focusing on the legions of potential customers as of yet not reached and sales potential not yet realized. A mindset that zeroes in on business growth right from the start is the winning attitude that sets apart a successful home business entrepreneur from many others selling the same good or service.

Making the most of business opportunities, taking action right away instead of becoming paralyzed by overanalyzing a possibility at profit, and keeping your expenses as low as possible are vital to your business success. Ensure that you have set up a realistic budget for your home business that incorporates any office supply and logistic needs you may have, but that also leaves a lot left over for advertisement. Do not fall into the trap of purchasing the latest and greatest office machine or computing equipment if – at least in the beginning – you can make do with cheaper machines. In the beginning you will need to focus on order generation, order taking, and order fulfillment. This may be accomplished with used computers, a postage meter that is purchased second or third hand, and a desk that has seen better days. Anything that does not directly fall into the three focus areas is considered extra and may be purchased after you have turned a sufficient profit.

While you are curtailing expenses, your quest for income generation needs to go full steam ahead. Skillful promotion aimed at making your home business a household name takes time and effort, but failing to invest both will leave your profit anemic at best. Marketing should initially be focused on your most successful good or service and only later branch out to also include your other products or services you might be offering. Staying on track with these tips will ensure your home business' success in the beginning as well as during its heyday while at the same time helping you become a business leader rather than a follower in the footsteps of those who know how to realize their entrepreneurial dreams.

There are many important parts to a business, and something that is very important is being able to be seen online. If you have a small local business you might not consider your website the most important aspect, but if you have a business that has any other customers other than people who live in your town, you want to concentrate on creating the best website that you can.

And there is hardly any reason that you shouldn't have a website. If you run a small business that only relies on local services, such as cutting hair or babysitting children, you might not use your website to attract other business. But you might. Nearly everyone who is going to be looking for your type of service, whether in your home town or not, is going to have access to the internet and is going to want to look you up. No matter what you are doing, you need your own website.

However, this doesn't mean that you need to spend a lot of money having it designed for you by a big name company. There are many programs that will allow you to design your own website, no matter what your skill level online is going to be.

These are all things that you should consider. The first step in having your own website is to take the time to purchase a domain that you can use and one that will work for you. Remember that this doesn't need to be something fancy, but it also should be something that is easy to remember, and easy to market. Next, you have to make sure that you have a program that you can use to design the website. There are many programs, depending on what type of computer and operating system you use, which will allow you to create simply websites very easily. Most of them will even allow you to do this without the use of HTML. That means that if you can type in a document, you can use the program.

The main thing that you should think about when you are designing your own website is that you want it to be easy to read, to be understandable, and to be very clear in your mission statement. It doesn't matter if you don' t have the most fancy website in the world, because the most important part is going to be that you are able to get customers through it. Be sure that you are following all of these steps and you will be able to greatly benefit from designing your own websites. Don't worry if you don't' have the most fancy website. Make sure that you are clear and concise, and that your mission statement is right there for everyone to read. This is the most important thing that you can do.

When you are working form home, you know that being able to work on a schedule becomes one of the most important things. You've probably thought all about how great it will be to have the freedom to work whenever you want, but remember that when this happens you are actually going to be causing a lot of chaos in your own head. Working whenever you want might be great, but imagine if you don't' have a work schedule. The temptation to not get your work done on time is hard to pass by, and so is the temptation to work 24 hours a day, in order to either catch up or to do even more than you've been doing in the past. This is why having a concrete work schedule is a great way to make sure that you're on top of things.

There are several ways that you can do this. First of all, the best thing to do is to figure out how much time each week you need to devote to your business. Are there certain things that need to be done every day, or only ever week? Can you get by with only working a few hours each day, or do you need a full work day in order to get things done? some people choose to have full work days two or three days a week, and take the rest of the days off. However, with some businesses you simply need to be at work each day, so this tactic would not work for you.

Once you know how much work time a week you need, you can develop a schedule. Make sure that you've got your weekly tasks and your daily tasks posted somewhere, so that you can keep track of things. Remember that even though you have a work at home schedule you should make sure it is rather flexible, because part of the joy of working at home or owning your own home business is that you can take time off when you want and you can build your own hours.

For the most part, the best thing to do is to set a schedule and stick to it. If you need 15 hours per week to do your work, set those hours and be sure that you stick to them. You might want to make allowances to give yourself time to do extra work, or to take on additional projects, but remember that allowing yourself to work longer hours is just one step on the slippery slope of allowing yourself to work each day and each night. Soon you'll find yourself even more burnt out on your home business than you were when you worked in that office.

Working from home is an activity that does not spell success for each and everyone. As a matter of fact, there are those who will try it for a while only to give up and instead once again enter the workforce. When asked, they will be honest in stating that the idea of a home based business sounded nice in the beginning, but in the end, the disadvantages outweighed the advantages, and they find that they are happening in a more traditional work environment. On the flipside of this coin are those what throw off the shackles of the nine to five jobs and practically soar professionally with their home based business. These individuals cannot imagine themselves ever going back to working a traditional job.

For those workers who have families, and especially young children, a home based business is a dream come true simply for the fact that they will be able to spend a lot of time at home being available to the children when they are at home, and working when the kids are in school. Yet those who find that their normally free time is eaten up by work demands of a home business, a traditional job with set business hours is a better solution. Similarly, if you do not have the energy to work after hours, such as when the children are in bed, you will find that a home based business will indeed begin to cut in on your available family time. In a few cases the fact that a person is always home – at first with the kids and then with work – also adds up to a sizeable disadvantage.

Counteracting this disadvantage is the advantage of being your own boss, calling the shots, and no longer having to kowtow to someone else's idea of how things should be run – especially if you are highly skilled in your field and know what needs to be done and how to do it. Without lengthy commuting time, you will have more time to devote to your skill, and thus more ability to make a profit for your home based business. A distinct advantage in many fields, especially real estate and marketing, there are some disadvantages to being your own boss, namely the need to accept certain distractions by ancillary activities, such as accounting and tax preparation, which normally are left to the boss. Similarly, if you are not a self starter but rely on the motivation from a boss or supervisor, you will soon find that being your own boss is more of a disadvantage to you, since you will have nobody holding you accountable on progress and overall productivity.

Consider also if you find that going to an office each and every day is an advantage to you or a disadvantage. Lacking this interaction with other workers for many is negligible, but for some it is a vital component of daily life, and thus will be sorely missed once gone. By honestly assessing the advantages and disadvantages of running a home based business, you will be certain to make the right choice when deciding whether or not you wish to give it a try!

Few things are harder to stomach for an entrepreneur than sudden unexpected turns of events. This may pertain to a sudden unexpected bill that comes in the mail or the terse reminder of your friendly local taxing authority that you are behind in filing your quarterly business taxes. Since your home business is not only your bread and butter but also quite literally tied into the livelihood of your personal home, your ability to absorb risk and surprises is much decreased.

Thus you will need to take special care to ensure that your financial health is protected all the way around. Should your business suddenly experience a growth spurt, you need to be able to keep up; if a change looms large all of a sudden, perhaps due to a catastrophic turn in the economy, you need to be able to respond to it. By taking three simple steps, you will ensure that no matter what happens, you will know how to handle the unexpected and will not be taken by surprise when running a home business.

First and foremost, it is vital that you are insured. Not only does your home need to be insured, but your business may require certain liability insurance policies as well. Check on this matter with an experienced insurance agent and then find the coverage that most adequately protects you and your business. Then, should you fall ill, become injured or disabled, or just have to deal with a malfunction of your home of business equipment, your home business will not fall victim to the problems but instead will receive the funds necessary to maintain the status quo until you once again take the reigns firmly in hand.

Secondly, remember that in cases where you will host clients in your home, there is always the possibility of someone sustaining and injury. Thus, you will need to have adequate liability insurance that will protect you in case a customer slips and falls or is otherwise hurt. Liability insurance that protects you against claims arising from the use of any product you might be selling goes hand in hand with this kind of insurance policy and once again your insurance professional will be able to advise you on your needs.

Last but not least is the kind of protection that you yourself may not enjoy, but that will spell the difference between being taken care of and abject poverty for your family: life insurance! Protect your business and your family from going under by having your life insured so that your loved ones will be able to have their needs met should you die unexpectedly. This will also permit your family to take over the business should they desire to do so. By creating an operation manual you will leave them not only the funds needed to run the business but you will also enable them to continue running it and profiting from it just the way you did!

While many people struggle with just the concept of balancing a career and family life, still others are trying to find a way to have a successful career to pay the bills and get a home business off the ground for the future. Few things are as professionally stimulating in life as running a successful business, but the risks are great and it can take time for the average home business to bring in enough money to support a family or even an individual full time. For this reason, juggling both a day job and a home business is sometimes necessary for a while, if not indefinitely. Here are some traits and tips to properly balance a home business and a career.

The most important thing you'll need to balance a career and a home business is drive and determination. Juggling both can be stressful and there will be times when you find yourself envious of your friends who have the time to go out, do fun activities with their kids, and basically enjoy a life after work. During these same hours, you'll be working harder than ever at getting your business off the ground. It will be tempting to quit. Those that can avoid this temptation, and continue to work double time, will be the ones that are successful in the long run. Keep the end goal in mind at all times, and it will be you with all the free time later on down the line while all your friends are stuck in an office all day.

Riding along this same theme, you have to learn how to make the most of the time you have. When it feels like all you want to do is relax and watch some television, you must make yourself stay on the course. People complain every day about not having enough time, but they don't stop to examine how much of each day is wasted. Weekends, holidays, after work hours. These are the times when you have to sacrifice your rest and relaxation for the good of your home business. Researching, advertising, and creating will be your hobbies.

The last thing you'll need to successfully juggle your dual careers is patience. Days can stretch into weeks, into months, and even years before your home business is successful enough to support you full time. But if you give up, it will never happen. Have patience, persevere, and eventually it will happen.

Use your drive, determination, patience, and time to make the most out of your dual careers. Have a goal in mind, whether it be making a certain amount of money, furthering an important cause, or being able to make your home business your full time career. By doing this, you will enjoy success.

Making money can be very hard work. It takes time and dedication to your job, to make money. Everyone is looking for a faster, easier way to make extra money, but what you may get is scammed instead. Many scammers attempt to grab the attention of low income people, those that are unemployed, stay at home parents, the elderly, or even the disabled. The best way to protect yourself and your family is to know the difference between a legitimate company and one that is scam related. You may have noticed scam ads before and not even realized it.

Often the fastest way to tell whether an ad is a scam is if sounds too good to be true. If the ad or caller states that you will be able to make a considerable amount of money in a short amount of time, then you should consider it to be a scam. The company may ask you to give money upfront, in order to make money with their company. It is true that it takes money to make money, but many companies may take your money and you may not be able to receive a refund. If you decide to invest in a company, always use your credit card to pay, as it is easier to receive a refund from your credit card company, than to try to receive a refund for the company you are investing in. If you feel that you are not receiving a fair deal, consider calling the company before you call the authorities, to see if you can get a refund through them first. If they are not agreeable, then consider contacting the authorities, the Better Business Bureau, the Federal Trade Commission, or even the Attorney General for your state or the state that the scammer is located in.

Before you decide to join an ad or company that promises fast rewards, take your time to research the company thoroughly. If the company does not have the appropriate credentials to be in business, or has not been in business for an extended period of time, be very weary of the company's intentions towards you. Research the internet to find people who have dealt with this company before and listen to what they have to say regarding the company, its products and even the representatives. Contact the Better Business Bureau to see if the company has had any claims filed against it, or if they are a member of the BBB. Look at the address and phone number of the company's contact information. Does it list a PO Box or a have a phone number listed? If these are not available, then you may not want to deal with the company, they will be hard to trace if you should be scammed. Some ads will give you a 1-900 number to contact for information. These types of scams charge exorbitant amounts of money to call, and the scammer may receive a portion of this money. Before you agree to any company, take your time and consider before you agree to their requests.

    *********************** ARTICLE START ***********************

God wakes up at 3.30 am in the morning. He takes a stroll from New York to Mumbai. He covers this distance in less than forty five minutes. Maybe he stops the clock during that time, who knows ! He then opens a envelope. It has six names written on it. "Wake them up !" he orders the angels. The angels enter into the mind of these six chosen people and clean the lenses of these individuals. They become God's favourite child instantly! God then opens his laptop and checks his mails. 13,45,678 messages from all his devotees worldwide are waiting in his inbox. He closes his eyes and choses one more person from this email list.... "Wake this person up !" he orders the angels. This seventh person could well be you !. Here is reason why.....

The six names which God calls out everyday have already been predetermined based on your karma and past actions. We do not know when our name would appear on that hot list. We can only hope and pray for the best and carry out our duties in the most respected and adorable fashion. We have very little clue of the good and bad we have done since our progress from being an amoeba to taking an human form. But there is another chance of sneaking in early and having our name being called out by God. God choses the seventh person randomly .....

The choice of the seventh person by God is not based on any of your past actions at all. No one has any clue of how He chooses this seventh person but it is has been spiritually proved that this is not based on any of your past actions. We can only guess His various ways of choosing the seventh person. But I can share with you a spiritual trick which will significantly increase your chances of being the seventh person.

Let's say you check your emails and you see 13,45,678 messages waiting to be read in your inbox. Which of these will you read? How about if you receive one more email in your inbox when you are online?. There is a huge chance that you might read that one mail which popped in when you were online, right ! In any case we glance through the first ten emails for sure. God too does the same my dear friend ! He wakes up at 3.30 am and at 4.15am He checks his emails. If you pray to Him or carry out any of His favourite activities at 4.00 am in the morning your message would be in the top ten. There is a huge chance that He might read it. The probability is very high and if you do that religiously for a couple of months or years there is no reason why your name would not figure in the list of the seventh person. It's very simple and st forward...

We all think about God quite late in the day. If you reach Him any time after 4.30 am in the morning you would have missed the chance of having your message being in the top ten messages waiting in His inbox every day. You can reach Him as many times during the day but if you dont get Him at 4.30 am the chances are your message will never be read. They would figure very low down the order and would escape His attention. You would then have to wait for your name to appear in the list of six people mentioned in the envelope. But these names are predetermined and the odds are highly against you to appear in that list of six people. The waiting list in this case might even be a few thousand years who knows! But you can very easily get the seventh slot within couple of months .... It is certain that you will get through if you follow this ancient trick. This is based on my humble spiritual experience and learning from the great masters...

Try it out and if it fails i am at your mercy....It never will... I guarantee you. This method works. God will call out to you very soon. He has no choice.... Starting tomorrow Call out for him at 4.00 am in the morning, my dear friend. Very few people will share these secrets with you... Think about all these with a calm mind. See you at 4.00 am tomorrow morning!

By the way do you have any clue of what it means when I say " God wakes you up" ……

The day before yesterday was a good day, a really good day. Everything worked well. The weather was fair, the computers worked fine and orders for the "PowerPause" (my latest creation) came in at a much higher rate than usual. My world seemed peaceful and I was filled with exhilaration. It was a good day.

Yes, the day before yesterday was the type of day I always like to see. There are many such days. Sunny, warm days, whether because of the weather or because of the warmth in our hearts are always pleasant.

But yesterday was totally different. It was not a good day. It started with my computer giving me all kinds of error messages. I switched to the backup computer only to have it crash the moment I touched the keyboard. I turned on the laptop and the screen remained blank. I couldn't get through to anybody on the phone. By late afternoon, I leaned back in my chair and sighed. Yes, yesterday was not a very good day.

Today is better than yesterday, but not quite as good as the day before. At least, not yet, anyway. You see, it's still morning. I've got a while to go before this day is done.

Why am I telling you about good days and bad days? Because in life, there will be good days and there will be not-so-good days. No need to rant and rave at the not-so-good days. They will pass. So will the good days also. They both will pass. Nothing stays the same.

All things change. The seasons of the year as well as the seasons of our lives keep changing. It is the law of the universe. So enjoy good days while they last. And the not-so- good days? Tolerate them. They will not last, either.

An old Chinese proverb says, "You cannot prevent the birds from flying over your head but you certainly can prevent them from making nests in your hair." Don't let a bad day keep you from looking forward to good ones.

Live life one day at a time. The Universe will sustain you. You do your part and the Universal Forces will always do theirs. You are as valid and as valuable as anyone else in the world. Keep on keeping on. To modify the words of US president, John F. Kennedy, "Ask not what this day will bring to you. Rather, ask what you will bring to this day."

May your day be filled with all good things.

Can you stop the leap of the snake which intends to bite you?

Can you force the murderer who has come to kill you to drop the knife?

Can you stop the tsunami from wrecking your house?

You might be surprised ,but the answer to all the above three questions is "Yes You can do it". It might take a long time but i want to show you how it is done.....

I want to make one thing clear first. I have not attempted to do any of these three things stated above. However, i have applied the knowledge which i have gained thru deep insight and thru learning from great masters to similar events of a lower intensity and they have proved to be highly effective.

Before i reveal it all to you I would like to tell you of a real life incident which will help you understand this concept much better. It was in 1996 when i was in Pittsburgh,USA that i fell terribly ill. All the medicines which the doctors prescribed had failed. I went to every specialist but no one could identify my illness. I had high fever, severe vomiting and my weight was reducing by the day. It was terrible. I was admitted to the hospital at least half a dozen times. No doctor could locate the exact nature of the virus .... I came back to India half dead... My parents got me admitted to one of the best hospitals in Mumbai. However, In India it was still worse ... At the age of 24 I was going through the worst moments of my life.

Then suddenly everything changed for the better.... In walked the No 1 doctor of Mumbai. He was 69 at that time. He smiled at me ... I smiled back with whatever little energy i had.... "We will make you fit in two weeks time..." These were his exact words. Like a master at work ,he calmly went thru my medical history, asked a few questions, examined my body and then prescribed two tests and left...

Late evening the next day the doctor came back again and said "We have identified your illness and your medication will start tomorrow. You will be fine in a weeks time...." Within a week of taking those medicines i was back to normal. I had no fever and vomiting after a week. My parents were happy and i was relieved...

Three months of taking all the medicines prescribed by the world renowned doctors could not cure my illness... Finally the right diagnosis of the disease did the trick.....

What is the lesson for everyone here?

The No 1 lesson I learnt is "Action is the next step after Knowledge". It is not action that is important . . It is not the number of hours you work, or your honest commitment and energy which will help you get the things you really want. All these qualities are of very little use if you are not aware of your deepest intention, your innermost dreams. Like the doctors in my case you will be putting in your best efforts, your total commitment and energy and yet you would not achieve anything that you truly want and will remain unhappy. We pride ourselves for the number of hours we work everyday, of the focus and commitment we put in our work but we care very little for knowing our deepest and most genuine desires. We do not pay any attention to it. Think about it….When i use the word know, i mean those wants which stir your soul and not your small little selfish interests of seeking money and power....

The first step is in truly knowing. Taking action is simple. Action becomes stressful and frustrating when you do not know ..

You can get anything that you want only when you know what you truly want.

You can get out of any problem in your life if you can get to the root cause of the problem.

If you can go the source of the problem, the originator of destruction, the initial vibrations which forced a man to pick up the knife and murder you, or the snake to sting you or the tsunami to destroy your house, you can alter that decision and seek remedy... The force that that can propel a murderer to drop his knife, or a snake to lower its hood or a tsunami to mellow down is the same force that had enabled the doctor to diagnose the illness properly and cure it. It is only that the intensity of the force has to be much stronger to enable the murderer to drop his knife, or the snake to lower its hood. Your genuine intention and your deepest knowledge of the source of the problem will help you identify the hidden cause of the problem and thus resolve it....

You get only one second to act in all these three cases but if you had complete knowledge of the source of these problems your action might be significantly different and so yield positive results. It might take a decade or more to put these things to practice but the knowledge that you can solve any problem by going to the root cause of the problem remains intact be it diagnosing an illness or in eliminating the motive of a murderer or stopping a snake from biting you.....

    *********************** ARTICLE START ***********************

As many times as I've changed residences, moved from one state to another, even moved from country to country, I've been filled with a mixture of apprehension and excitement.

For many of us, just moving from day to day, month to month or year to year creates a similar anxiety or a subtle excitement. It doesn't matter whether we move in time or we move in space, there is one constant -- change.

It seems a contradiction to say that the only permanent thing we encounter in our daily lives is change, but change is what it's all about.

The process of growing from a child into a teenager and then into an adult is one that's constantly filled with change. There is an urge written deep within us, in our very genes and spirit, to grow and change and become the best we can.

Sometimes the urge is buried under tons of daily woes or in the joys of the moment, but it is there, nevertheless. Many of us fear change because we are fearful of the unknown.

My old friend, Deepak Chopra, once told me that it is not the unknown we should be afraid of, but, instead, the known. The unknown is what will become the known as we pour our hearts and minds into it. I go a step further and say we should not fear either the known or the unknown.

Whatever appears to be happening to us now, whatever the future seems to hold for us, we must remember that we have the power to change everything in our lives by a simple stroke of genius -- changing the way we look at things and, more important, changing the way we feel about things.

Reality is actually the interpretation of a point of view. If we do not like what seems to be our lot in life, we have but to change the way we look at our life and we'll change outcomes. I do not know why or how this happens. It might even be a mystical law. But this I know, throughout the centuries, the sages of all cultures have said, "Change your mind and you change your world."

For all of us, the arrival of a new year is just around the corner. It is a good time to review the events of the past year without dwelling on them. It is a better time to look forward into the newness of that which is to come and resolve to do the best you can with what you have.

The laws of the Universe may seem complex, but I have the feeling that is because we tend to want to analyze those laws and figure why they work. I believe it is much better to use those laws for our benefit and the good of all people.

This is a thought and belief world. Whatever we think, if we believe it strongly enough, it will become part and parcel of our lives. Some of you may say to me, "That's all well and good, John, but it's not easy to change your thoughts and your beliefs."

I agree wholeheartedly. It is not easy, but it's simple. Realize that you are NOT your thoughts. You only THINK your thoughts. They are yours and if they are yours, you can do with them whatever you want. Many times we let our thoughts scare us. It's as if our thoughts think US instead of the other way around.

And as to your beliefs, all you have to do is examine them and ask yourself why you believe what you believe. You may be amazed to find that your beliefs have held you captive all these years. Perhaps those beliefs were necessary at one time, but you may have outgrown them. Examine what you believe about money, health or relationships and ask yourself why you believe that.

Change your beliefs about the world and circumstances and you'll change your thoughts about life and how it works. If you suffer from lack, start changing your belief about money into one of abundance and affluence.

If you are experiencing illness, look at your beliefs about health and change them into wellness and well-being. And if you have poor, or non-existent relationships, change your beliefs into those of feeling loved and worthy of all good things.

Life is a process of change. Change is what brings us progress. Welcome change and the unknown. Let every day be the start of a new adventure. Go into the new week, the new year with a new you. Remember that you are a beautiful child of the Universe and the Universe will take good care of you if you believe, trust and expect.

    *********************** ARTICLE START ***********************

Many years ago, I was sitting with a number of top executives in a business meeting. We were discussing the possibilities of getting more customers. The thought came to me that we should call Jim, a certain competitor, and ask him if he would send us some of his extra business. The thought seemed so ridiculous that I didn't even voice it. What? Ask a competitor for business? It was too far-fetched to consider.

A week later at a trade meeting, I bumped into Jim. We talked for a little while about our various businesses and then I did a strange thing. I asked him if he had any extra business that he couldn't handle at the present time. I told him that we had some excess capacity at the plant and would be willing to help him out.

Jim looked at me and smiled. "I wish you had asked me that last week," he said. "You see, John, we recently acquired two new, large accounts but we didn't want to lose some of our smaller accounts. We are working over capacity right now. We wanted to give some of the excess work to another company that had the capability of handling them."

Jim shook his head and continued. "I thought of calling you folks to ask whether you wanted some extra business. Before I could make the call, I got sidetracked with other things and forgot about it for a day or two. Then, a few days ago, Marty from XYZ Corporation called and asked if we had any contracts that they could help us out with. I was only too happy to agree. I wish you had asked me sooner."

Yes, I, too, wished I had just ASKED. For many reasons we are reluctant to ask for what we want. The feelings are complex as to why we hesitate to ask for help when we need it most. I, too, have faced situations where I'd rather walk a thousand miles than ask for help. Perhaps, it is human nature, but I really don't know.

I do know, however, that many times the difference between success and failure is the simple act of asking. And who do we ask? And how? This is where the secret lies. An old man once said to me, "Go to God first, and then to man as God directs." The first place to turn to is the Invisible Force that pervades the universe. Some call this Force God. Others call it "All That Is" or Jehovah or many other different names.

We ask in the quiet of our hearts. If we listen carefully, we are led to ask the right person. And if we do this with a confident heart, believing that we deserve the support of the universe, we'd be amazed at the results. With strange turns and with mysterious means we're led to the answer we seek.

Learn to ask for help. Ask in the silence of your soul first, and then ask the person you feel led to. That person could be a friend, a family member, a minister, a counselor or a business associate. Sometimes help comes from strange places. In addition to writing articles, newsletters and books, lecturing and conducting seminars, I am also an intuitive consultant. It never ceases to amaze me how many people call me for a consultation, guidance and insigt and say that they were led to call me through something they saw on my websites, the suggestion of a friend, a book they read or even a dream.

Our world seems to be moving at a faster pace than ever before. Changes seem to come upon us with lightning speed. But that is one of the laws of the universe. Change will always come into our lives. It's how we deal with it that's important. If we meet change with confidence and trust, we'll find the strength, courage and support to adapt, adjust and welcome change. Hope does shine all around.

There are times when events seem to catch up with us and we find ourselves at the end of our rope. Worse, there appears to be nowhere to turn, no help available, no rest for the weary. Do not be deceived by what appears to be. There is an ancient saying, "Ask and ye shall receive."

Whatever the times seem to be, whatever problems we face, whatever difficulties we imagine in our minds, let us remember that there is always a way out. Let us remember that we are children of the universe with all the gifts of the universe at our disposal. Let us ask the universe for what we need and we'll be guided to someone who will be the answer to our problem. Just don't sit there -- ASK!

I hadn't been sitting for more than a few moments when the doorbell rang. I jumped out of my chair, rushed to the front door and excitedly jerked it open. I was so anxious to see God again, but He wasn't there. It was Gideon, cheerful as usual. Even Marla was not there.

"Come in, Gideon," I said. "It's good to see you, but where is God and where's Marla?"

"Marla went up the back stairs to the porch. She said that it was such a beautiful day, you probably wouldn't mind if we all sit out on the porch and enjoy the gifts of nature as we talk."

"That's fine with me," I replied. "But where is God? It's already four o'clock."

"God is never late," said Gideon and the moment he spoke, the phone rang.

"Go ahead, Gideon, pour yourself a cup of coffee. Pour me one, too, please. I'll be through with the phone in a few seconds."

Picking up the receiver, I said "Hello" and listened as a neighbor asked if I could lend him my electric drill. At first, I felt an obvious annoyance at his call, because I didn't want anything to keep me from my appointment with God. Then I realized that it's also important to do whatever one can to help others. There are too many of us who, when we hear of someone needing help, are prone to form a discussion committee rather than actively doing something about it.

"Sure," I said. "It's in the garage on the long bench; help yourself. Take it whenever you want. The door is open. Please excuse me. I have company and I've got to go now. Good-bye."

I turned back to Gideon, who said, "Let's go and sit with Marla on the porch."

"OK. I'll take her a cup of coffee," I replied.

"She prefers water, John. I'll get her a glass."

It's interesting how we can solve many of our problems by just realizing that we already possess most of the information we need. Imagine asking God about the color of paint I should use in the attic! The next thing I wanted to check would probably have been whether God preferred me to get a haircut this week or next. As I mulled these things over in my mind, it became clear to me that any color I chose for the room in the attic would be fine. If I preferred blue, then blue was excellent. If green made me happy, then I should color my attic green. It was up to me to decide what to do about haircuts, tires and such matters.

I slowly walked back to the house, thinking how we look to God to solve so many problems that we ourselves are well equipped to handle. It seemed to me that it was simply better to do all we could about the problem and then leave the rest to God. The Creator has already provided us with the tools we needed for living. All we have to do is make an effort to find and use them properly.

It was approaching four o'clock and God would be arriving soon. I had started out trying to figure what questions to ask Him. How could I have forgotten to think of asking for some help for old Mrs. Jones, whose husband had recently died? And yes, I should have considered offering assistance to that family who lost everything in a house fire the other day. I definitely should solicit God's aid for those in greater need than myself. Next to their problems, mine seemed so insignificant. However, this time, I'll also ask about Mardai and her life.

With these thoughts, I pulled out the coffeepot, started a fresh brew and sat down at the kitchen table to await the arrival of God.

I shuffled around the house for a while, not knowing quite what to expect. I went outside thinking that I would ask practical questions of God instead of all the silly, mundane questions I tended to propose when I was with Him. This would be my golden opportunity. This time I would not be put off by answers that seemed too vague or too complex. Perhaps He'd walk around the yard with me, maybe give me some tips on how to get the mimosa tree to bloom. I know, I grinned, I'll ask Him about the leaking pipe in the basement and at the same time check His opinion on whether I should resurface the driveway or not.

The more I thought about it, the more I realized how many things I would like God to help me with. Of course, there are those two bad tires on the car. I wonder if I should replace them now or keep them for another few months or so. Then there's the matter of sending the children to spend some vacation time with their grandparents. Should this be done early in the summer or much later, preferably a few weeks before the new school year begins? I mustn't forget the room in the attic. Surely God would agree that I should paint it. But what color should I use? Perhaps green,or maybe yellow or blue. No problem — God will help me with all these decisions.

And so it went, each question becoming more meaningless and self-centered than the one before. It took just a few minutes to realize that I'd fallen into an old, but senseless, habit. With an embarrassed smile, I discovered that I didn't need to ask God about my mimosa tree. The information was readily available at the nursery or library, and a phone call or visit would teach me all I needed to know. Our local plumber could advise me concerning the basement pipe, and it didn't require much common sense to figure that the local mechanic should check the tires. As for the children spending a week with their grandparents, why didn't I just call and ask the grandparents which week would be best?

"Children meet God more often than adults do. Yours see Him everyday. But today, they won't be able to see Him here. His main business is with you. Marla and I have made some other arrangements for Malika and Jonathan. They'll both be spending the night at their friends' home."

"I'll have to tell them about this."

"The arrangements have already been made, so don't worry, just go about your work as if nothing's happening," he said.

"As if nothing's happening? Oh, sure! God's coming to my house and you tell me to do my work as if nothing's happening?"

He interrupted again."You seem to miss the point, John. God has always been at your house so, why make such a big fuss? The only difference is that this time, you'll be aware of His Presence. Your house or the Headquarters of G&M Enterprises, what difference does it make?" "I'll be ready, Gideon," I said.

"See you later, my friend," he replied and hung up the phone.

Before I could collect my thoughts, the children came in. They had been playing outdoors for the past hour and, since it was close to lunchtime, I assumed they were hungry. "You ask him, Malika," coaxed Jonathan with an impish grin.

"Daddy," said Malika, "would you let Jonathan and me stay over at Lisa's place tonight? Lisa's brother, Mark, will watch a movie with Jonathan. They'll be real good, Daddy. Lisa and I will keep an eye on them. Please, Daddy, can we spend the night, please?"

They both seemed so excited. "When did this come up?" I asked. "You didn't ask my permission before." "Mark and Lisa just asked us a few minutes ago. They said that it was okay with their parents," answered Jonathan.

Naturally, I granted them permission and immediately called Mark and Lisa's parents to confirm these arrangements. Around 3:00 o'clock, Malika and Jonathan packed their little overnight bags and went next door to spend the evening with their friends. I was left alone to wonder about the correct procedure for entertaining God. This was insane.

"I see you're trying to be funny, Gideon," I said. "I'll always have time for God. It's an honor to have Him visit. By the way, what do you mean—God visits the neighbors' homes, too?"

"He visits all homes, but not all see Him. He speaks to all,but not all hear Him. He has visited your home so many times that it's almost as if He lives there. He also lives in your neighbors' homes, in homes in every city and village. He lives everywhere, John."

"If He lives here, why, then, does He have to visit? Stop talking in riddles, Gideon, and please answer in simple sentences," I demanded.

"I wasn't joking," he replied in a more serious tone of voice. "I was just trying to get you to think. The simplicity of the matter is that God is everywhere, but not everyone is aware of His presence. Later today, He will visit you in a way that will always remind you of His closeness. It seems that you always have to see to believe, but I tell you, believe and you will see."

"Then I'd better get busy and mow the lawn and straighten the —"

He did not let me finish. "No, No, There's no need for special preparations. You don't have to do anything out of the ordinary. God always sees you as you are and as you can be."

"At least," I said, "I should pick up some cake and some fresh ground coffee."

Gideon's laugh resonated through the telephone. "I'm sure that coffee and pastry are quite high on God's priority list of concerns," he said. "Come on, John, forget about those things, just expect God's visit this afternoon around, shall we say, four o'clock. Will that timing suit you?" "Anytime God wants to visit me suits me just fine," I responded nervously. "But, Gideon, what about the children? Will they be able to meet Him, too?"

The following week was spent catching up with all the little tasks I had left undone. The memory of my visit with God was fresh in my mind, and I made even greater efforts to practice being in His Presence. I regretted not being able to obtain any specific information about Mardai, but I was content with the thought that I would soon find out more.

Saturday arrived and I found myself experiencing a strong undercurrent of excitement. Upon closer examination, I couldn't find any reason for being so happy and, yet, it was a feeling I couldn't shake. Sometimes I become miserable when I'm apparently happy for no reason, except that I rationally figure there is nothing to be happy about. It was only recently that I realized you don't need a reason to be happy. In the middle of my reflections, the phone rang. I picked it up and said, "Hello."

    "Hi, John, this is Gideon."

"Hi, Gideon. I've missed you and Marla," I said.

As usual, he got straight to the point. "Today, you'll have a visit from the Almighty. Remember our last meeting when He promised you a treat? Well, this is the day." "Hold on,hold on, Gideon!" I bellowed. "Start over again from the beginning. What's all this about?"

Gideon paused for a long moment, then said, "God's coming to your house today. Marla and I will be with Him, of course."

"God's coming to see me? Why would He do that?" "You went to see Him, didn't you? Why shouldn't He come to see you? After all, you are trying to get closer to Him, aren't you?"

"Yes, I know, but this all sounds so strange. God is coming to my house? I can't believe it!"

"You're probably wondering what the neighbors will think. Well, don't let that bother you. He visits their homes, too, but most of them never see Him or acknowledge His Presence. What with all that concern about yard work, the cleaning, cooking, laundry and, of course, the children, who has time for God?"

"The point I want to make is that although rituals have their place, what is more important is what we do for one another, how much we love and help one another. I do not care for incense or worship as much as I care for people, animals, trees and the other aspects of my creation. When the intent is to give service to the inhabitants of your world, then you'll truly find your peace. Only then will you come to truly know yourself and, in so doing, know me better." His voice trailed into a whisper as He turned to Gideon and Marla and said, "It's time to get John back to his home."

"But, Lord," I argued, "I still have so many questions. Can't we . . .?"

"I know. You want to ask about Mardai, about your dad, your children, your work and all your other concerns. I'll meet with you again in a short while and we'll go over some of those questions. But for now, you need to return to your regular schedule. You have a plane to catch and your children are waiting for you. Marla and Gideon will see you back to the airport."

God walked over and threw His arm around my shoulder as He led me to the door. Gideon and Marla followed behind us. "Don't forget now, John," God said,"to just practice being in the presence of God. Find that secret place where the troubles of your world cannot touch you. And, yes," He added as an afterthought, "He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the Shadow of the Almighty. I'll have a special treat for you soon. Vaya con Dios." A second later, He was gone.

Marla decided to remain at G&M Enterprises for a while, but promised that she would call me soon. Gideon and I took the elevator down to the first floor, caught a cab and went directly to the airport. We didn't speak much. I believe he wanted me to assimilate most of what had happened today. Patting my back, he said good-bye and promised to be in touch. A few hours later, I had left the Big City far behind me. There was a sweet sadness in leaving my dear friends, but today I knew that I'd experienced a most "learningful" adventure, and I couldn't wait for our next meeting.

New Age prophets and their religious teachers spoke of various convergences and impending disasters around the turn of the century, of fire and earthquakes, famines and floods. And then there were those charismatics, wiser in the ways of the world of commerce than their more esoteric cousins, who preached the gospel of "the laws and the profits" and all their brethren were amazed at how well they prospered.

And so it was as the jet neared the coast of North America, I reflected on the ways and means of humankind. Throughout the years, Gideon's guidance had given me a workable perspective of life and living.Instead of spending too much time on "Near-Death Experiences,"he had preferred to instruct me on the joys of "Near-Life Experiences" as it related to our present journey here on Earth.

The prospect of learning from Gideon once more brought a feeling of great excitement and anticipation. I certainly could use some help and advice in numerous areas of my life. "The times, they are a'changin'" has been true since time immemorial. The only permanent aspect of the universe is change and our ability to be successful and happy is directly proportional to our ability to adapt to and work within change.

The voice on the cabin speakers at that moment brought me back to reality. "We will be arriving in a short while. In preparation for landing, please bring your seat backs to the upright position and return all trays to their locked position. Make sure your seatbelts remain fastened. It has been our pleasure serving you and if your future plans call for air travel, please consider flying with us again."

I complied with the request and then turned around, glancing up and down the aisles, hoping to catch another glimpse of Gideon. He was nowhere to be seen, which did not surprise me since appearing and disappearing seemed to be old habits of his. I gathered my personal belongings, packed them away in my flight bag and prepared for arrival.

The touch down was as smooth as silk. If you were not aware that it was happening, you might not have even noticed. That's how it goes sometimes — just as in real life, one minute up in the air, the other down on the landing strip without so much as a bump to let you know you've arrived.

"Well, did you miss me?" he teased as casually as you please.

"Of course I missed you," I replied. "You and Marla just disappeared one day, and the way I figured it you must have died, because I never heard from either one of you again. It's been years, Gideon. You do have this habit of disappearing for years and re-appearing in a most unexpected manner."

"I certainly didn't die, as you can clearly see. I've just been away doing other things. But it's time to visit with you again, to finish the work we started ages ago. Tell me, John, what have you been doing since our last meeting?"

I was a thousand questions as I stared at him. He did not seem to have aged at all. He still sported the well-trimmed beard and his sparkling eyes spoke of untold mysteries. This time he was dressed in a flight attendant's uniform with two medals pinned over his breast pocket. "I was thinking about you just moments before you appeared. What are you doing working as a flight attendant?" I asked, deliberately ignoring his question.

"It was the best way to meet you again. At least we'd be able to chat for a while, exchange thoughts and bring you up to date on what's going on. Why do you think the flight is so uncrowded? We requested a special plane for you. Do you think this was all by accident? A mere coincidence? No accidents in the universe, John. Just choices, lots of them and each choice produces a result which creates further choices. Frustrating, isn't it?"

"Who requested a special plane?" I asked.

"Oh, Marla and I, of course. Who did you think?"

"Where's Marla? Is she on this flight too?"

"No, not on this flight, but temporarily in the airline business. You'll see her soon enough. Do you have many more questions?"

"Yes! I do. I always have lots of questions. And you haven't answered most of them yet, Gideon." Again I wondered whether I had fallen asleep and was dreaming all this when Gideon lowered his voice and spoke in a more serious tone.

Some people taking a HIPAA training course may find it rather tedious to attend the training. However, HIPAA does not need to be so theoretical all the time. For people who easily bore to tears, you may add some twist to your training program. Among the interesting methods you may use to avoid boring training is to integrate a number of informational yet fun games to your program. Among the best games you may include in your program agenda which the employee trainees can surely enjoy is the HIPAA treasure hunt.

Treasure hunting is a very familiar game especially to kids and kids at heart. HIPAA treasure hunting games can be like alone the same lines as those people know about with traditional treasure hunting games. The only difference is that it is done for educating people. The HIPAA treasure hunt game is played to edify employee-trainees about exactly how one can recognize a HIPAA rules breach. This particular game can be done through the following procedure.

    1. Let the trainees leave the conference area. Have them stay outside and then rearrange the entire area. Do whatever needed to make the area look a lot like a medical office or a clinic perhaps.

    2. Let the trainees group themselves and form small teams and then instruct them to re-enter the conference area. Give each team a single paper with a written clue on it.

    3. Each team should find and follow the first clue in order to get the next clue, and so on.

    4. The first team to solve all clues wins the game.

The clues must be related to HIPAA privacy law to make it relevant to the training's topic. A good sample clue may say "He left me on" or perhaps "I am left alone unattended". This may represent a computer system that was left unattended and is not protected with strong password. In connection to the HIPAA privacy law, the computer system that contains all the essential details and medical records of the clients and patients should be protected by a rather strong password to ensure data security. Moreover, keeping the computers locked and password protected is an excellent illustration of technical medical records safeguarding.

The team who are most familiar with the HIPAA rules and regulations as well as the grounds of HIPAA violations will surely have an easier time enjoying this particular game. In addition to that, this game can help trainees learn faster and can help them remember the rule as it is seen and experienced by them already. Also, this game can help participants avoid common office infringement and can help keep a HIPAA compliant office environment.

There are actually a lot more fun games you may integrate with your HIPAA course of training. Say for example a HIPAA relay where you let the participants fall in line and have them relay the message from the first person to the second and then so on. Messages to be relayed should be linked with the HIPAA training course as well.
