Rating: NR (Not Rated)
Length: 99 minutes
Release Date: May. 3, 2013
Directed by: Daniel Algrant
Genre: Drama
Stars: 2.5 out of 5
Jeff Buckley, upset at the fact that his famous musician father abandoned him, is asked to play his father's songs at a tribute concert. Jeff, who dabbles a bit in music but is not famous for his musical skills yet, reluctantly agrees and proceeds to stun everybody by not just recreating his father's magic but by highlighting his own musical talent and skill as well. The feeling that Jeff's anger is, to a certain extent, released in the course of his tribute to his estranged father is palpable at the end of "Greetings from Tim Buckley" even if you do not know anything about the tragic history of the Buckley family.
Unlike other biopics and semi-biopics about musicians and other famous personalities, "Greetings from Tim Buckley" does not underplay the undesirable and unpalatable aspects of the personalities involved in the movie. The movie does not try to explain why Tim Buckley (Ben Rosenfeld) abandons his wife and son.
Director Daniel Algrant, in a bold move, does not use the license that a semi-fictionalized biopic offers to attribute the tragedy to the eccentricities of a genius whose actions cannot be comprehended by ordinary individuals. Instead, Tim Buckley's abandonment of his family forms a small part of the overall story as the movie focuses on its impact on Tim's son Jeff (Penn Badgley).
Jeff's latent anger at his father, undiminished over the years, comes out in the open when his input is sought for a tribute concert being organized for his father. He openly questions his capacity to contribute to the concert and bluntly states that he hardly knew his father.
Moody, brooding, and lonely, Jeff agrees to participate primarily because he considers it a chance to display his own musical talent. Upon meeting performers who had worked with his father, Jeff struggles to control his sense of hurt and proceeds to vent his feelings without any regard for the consequences.
Penn Badgley stands out for a controlled performance as a hurt and sad youngster with ambivalent feelings about his father. He manages to convey the inability of talented musicians to conform to the rules of ordinary people leading normal and routine lives. Penn is convincingly unlikeable when he is ranting against famous rock stars of the past or being rude and offensive towards Allie (Imogen Poots), thereby destroying a friendship that was on the verge of becoming a romantic relationship.
Allie's character is a fictional inclusion and adds cheer and lighthearted frivolity to the movie's serious mood. She is attracted to Tim, and their friendship blooms into romance, which, after a few mishaps, has a happy conclusion. Her presence compels Tim to look beyond his complaints about life, which contributes to the sizzling musical finale at the climax. One cannot help but see black humor in the fact that the girl who finally brings a bit of cheer into Jeff's life is one who had a serious crush on his eccentric and dazzling father as well.
The director smartly avoids monotony by shifting attention from the son to the father. We see glimpses of Tim's musical talent along with his tendency to indulge in affairs and casual relationships despite being married. It is left to the audience to determine whether Tim's musical legacy is overshadowed by his poor treatment of his wife and son.
The movie could have easily ended up as a boring emotional drama about an angry son and an errant father. However, these aspects of the plot merely serve as the backdrop for the movie's biggest highlight-the concert. The director put in a lot of effort to recreate the concert in the most realistic manner possible. The fact that the movie showcases Tim's tribute as well as concerts performed by Jeff Buckley makes this movie an enjoyable experience for all who love good music. This aspect of the movie is clearly the most enjoyable part.
Despite such an unhappy premise, "Greetings from Tim Buckley" is not a gloomy or tragic movie. Rather, it is a story about a unique family where a son inherits his father's talents and gains recognition and respect through the contributions of his father. The movie has a positive message as Jeff settles his grudges against his father by exploring himself and discovering the capacity to forgive. The movie acts as a tribute to the capacity of music to heal old wounds and trauma.

When JJ Abrams' film "Star Trek Into Darkness" is released on May 17, 2013, it will have some very familiar faces in it. Two new faces that weren't seen in the 2009 film "Star Trek," which Abrams also helmed, will also be added. Here's a rundown of the new and returning players for the upcoming film.
James T. Kirk
Kirk was made the captain of the Enterprise in 2009's "Star Trek," though it took him quite a while to earn the trust and respect of the crew. He had a reputation for womanizing and being impulsive and headstrong, though he's has learned to control those traits somewhat. He is portrayed by Chris Pine, the youngest child of actor Robert Pine and former actress Gwynne Gilford. He'll next play another rebooted character from a movie series, starring in "Jack Ryan" as Jack Ryan, a role previously portrayed by Harrison Ford, Alec Baldwin, and Ben Affleck.
Spock
Spock is a half-human, half-Vulcan science officer aboard the Enterprise. His Vulcan heritage means that he prefers to use logic and reason, rather than emotion, to make decisions. He knows the Starfleet code inside and out, and he's occasionally a thorn in the side of the ship's captain-though Kirk finds his knowledge and decision-making skills invaluable. He's portrayed by Zachary Quinto, who can be seen in the FX series "American Horror Story."
Uhura
Lieutenant Uhura is a communications officer whom Kirk tried to seduce before the two were stationed on the same ship together. She initially despised him and was enamored of Spock, with whom she's in a relationship in "Star Trek Into Darkness." Kirk finally won her over with his bravery, and she is now respectful of his title and rank. Uhura is a great officer who holds a lot of clout on the bridge of the Enterprise. She is portrayed by Zoe Saldana, who is set to be in the Marvel Studios film "Guardians of the Galaxy" and is said to be reprising her role in the rumored "Avatar" sequel.
Scotty
Scotty, short for Montgomery Scott, is the Enterprise's chief engineer, a position he earned after the former chief was killed during a mission. In this Star Trek universe, Scotty was exiled to the cold planet to which Kirk found himself exiled in the 2009 film "Star Trek." Scotty and Kirk devise a plan to get back on the Enterprise, and Scotty becomes part of the crew. He's portrayed by Simon Pegg, who appeared in the zombie spoof "Shaun of the Dead" and will next appear in the 2013 film "The World's End."
Sulu
Sulu is a helmsman for the Enterprise, which means he's responsible for the navigation of the ship. As a lieutenant, he's well respected among his fellow bridge officers. He's also brave and unafraid of combat, as evidenced by his willingness to take part in dangerous missions. John Cho, who's famous for the "Harold and Kumar" movies and will be seen in the upcoming "Sleepy Hollow" adaptation, plays the role.
Chekov
In the original "Star Trek" television series, Chekov was a navigator and security officer. Abrams changed the character for 2009's "Star Trek," making him a math prodigy who's just seventeen years old. Chekov's ability to perform complex mathematical problems in short amounts of time is a big help to the crew, especially in risky situations. He's portrayed by Anton Yelchin, who voiced Clumsy Smurf in "The Smurfs" and the upcoming "The Smurfs 2."
Dr. McCoy
Also known as "Bones," Dr. McCoy is a surgeon who serves as the ship's chief medical officer. He's been friends with Kirk since they were at Starfleet Academy together, and he's instrumental in getting Kirk his initial assignment aboard the Enterprise. McCoy is played by Karl Urban, who was in "The Chronicles of Riddick" and will also appear in the upcoming sequel, "Riddick."
Dr. Carol Marcus
Dr. Marcus is an ambitious scientist who loves conducting experiments and working in a lab. Spock is threatened by Marcus because she has many of the same credentials he has, which he feels makes his position on the ship redundant. Alice Eve, who held a recurring role on the television show "Entourage" and will be seen in "Cold Comes the Night," plays the role..
John Harrison
Harrison is the main villain in "Star Trek Into Darkness," (read more here) though his true identity is shrouded in mystery. He has it out for Kirk and Starfleet in general, and rumors have swirled that he may secretly be iconic villain Khan. He's played by Benedict Cumberbatch, who's known for his take on the title character in the BBC's "Sherlock."

More households are employing maid services found in their local areas to save valuable time and keep homes looking great. There are national house cleaning service chains and hundreds of smaller local cleaning companies who offer maid and cleaning services. And individuals are also finding that cleaning homes is a very lucrative way to make a necessary income.
There are definite advantages to hiring a maid or cleaning services. And there are also disadvantages to allowing strangers in your home to wander amongst your personal and valuable belongings.
Pros to Maid Services
There are definite benefits of employing a maid service in your local area. If you have used a cleaning service in the past you know that there is high value in having cleaning help. Listed below are some of the pros:
1. Peace of mind in knowing that your home is clean when you come home from work. Without the stress of cleaning you will be able to relax, do other chores, and spend time with your family. A cleaning service will provide you with one less inconvenience to think about.
2. Cleaning your home takes a tremendous amount of time. It is a luxury that you sometimes can not afford. The saying that time is money can be given to you by utilizing a maid service.
3. Scheduling regular cleaning ensures that other maintenance chores around your home get finished. Straightening up and keeping things picked up is difficult enough without have to worry about cleaning and disinfecting toilets, wiping off and cleaning appliances, and vacuuming.
4. When major events are planned, you definitely need a maid service to help you with the emergency cleaning. Weddings and parties benefit from your maid service and local maid services will be there on the spot when you have emergency cleaning issues.
5. If you have floods, fires, disasters that cause your home to be unlivable for a time, a maid service can bring in industrial equipment to help you sanitize and clean your home.
Cons to Maid Services
Some of the difficulties in hiring a maid services can be:
1. If you are not specific to what you need done, your maid service will not clean and finish how you want. It is important to be specific.
2. Do not expect too much. Most maid services do clean thoroughly, but it is often not as perfect as you would do yourself if you had the time. Keep your expectations in line. Acknowledge that a cleaning service is great for weekly and emergency cleanup, but if you demand more, you may not get it.
3. Find one person to clean your home. Ask a maid service to assign only one person to you. A different maid coming in every week will ensure a waste of time as you have to repeat what needs to be done. One person will get to know what you require.
Weight the costs between time, doing cleaning yourself, and hiring a maid service. Talk to several services in your area and compare prices.

Cleaning your own home takes about 10 hours a month. That is 10 hours you could be doing something else that is more productive. Cleaning and maid services are finding that there is plenty of home cleaning business in today's chaotic world and some franchises claim that their business increased by over 75% in one year.
There are over 22,000 cleaning and maid service companies that range from self-employed housekeepers to franchised concerns to local cleaning services. Finding the rightmaid service is crucial when trust your home to someone else to clean. Check out your local maid service who regularly receives high reviews for their cleaning, carpet maintenance, windows washing services and emergency clean-up services.
What you are not told ...
Our word is our guarantee, not. There is no way of knowing if your cleaning service or hired housekeeper will do the job you want until they have "cleaned" and gone. You may find that anyone can have a cleaning business card, claim to be a housecleaner, and just comes in our home and "piddles" around. Check out the Association of Residential Cleaning Professions list of who's who in cleaning services and ask for at least three references from former customers.
We clean quickly, but poorly. Many housekeepers try to do several homes in one day. They move through homes and clearing quickly and inefficiently. This causes loss of property, bad cleaning and attention to detail. There are many stories about maid services or housekeepers who inadvertently throw away valuable belonging without thinking.
Misleading qualifications. Not everyone in a maid or housecleaning service really has the skills to clean. Ask about training before hiring. There are maid services that train their employees long before they are contracted out to clean homes. Look for maid services that train their employees.
Price tags are inflated. To clean a four-bedroom, three bath home on a two week schedule is generally between $80 and $100. If you are new at using an agency, however, you might just find that they "pad" the bill by doing what they determine is a deep clean of your home. Wipe out the refrigerator instead of only the handle, move the couch to vacuum under it; these will cost you extra the first time around if you are not careful.
"What? You work for me?" It is unfortunate that some cleaning services have no idea who their employees are. Take care when you hire a cleaning service that their employees are bonded and insured. Make sure you are comfortable about who is entering your home. Cross check the agencies employees and verify identities. Unfortunately there are so many stories about house cleaners coming back and stealing and heaven forbid murders of home owners.
Before hiring any cleaning service check out their credentials. Make sure they know their employees and that those employees have been with the company for at least six months. Check out references of the cleaning company and ask for records on their employees. This may sound harsh, but turnover in the housecleaning business can be up to 70% and security can be an issue.

Many people contact me, as a spiritual advisor, to ask what they can do about their relationship that has gone stale. Nowadays people are so stressed by the rush of modern life and have so little time that they forget that it takes work to keep their relationship alive and healthy.
When a couple does come together they talk about their problems-Be it financial, children, health, or work. Of course there are problems in our lives, but when that is the emphasis of a conversation with your mate, then you do have a problem. You have to learn how to put aside problems and focus on each other.
A good example of how to keep the relationship fresh I think was brought out in the movie "Out of Africa," which was based on a true story. When the characters portrayed by Meryl Streep and Robert Redford came together they made it a point to never talk about their problems and the day to day issues. They would discuss other subjects and create stories to entertain one another. This is how they kept the relationship alive, even though they were parted for long periods of time.
So how can you get the spark going again in your relationship? First and foremost is to remember why you came together and fell in love in the first place. Things may have changed over time, but in the beginning of the relationship there was excitement and romance. And this is what needs to be brought back to your relationship to get the sparks going again.
It is important to set aside at least one night a week for date night. A date night should be treated just like you would if you were going out on a date with someone for the first time. You would not be talking about your problems you would be focused on the other person.
If you have small children these things can be done after they have gone to bed and are fast asleep. If your children are older you can arrange a sleepover for them or even a babysitter so that you have time to focus on your mate. If you have no children or your children are grown, you do not have to worry about it.
Here are some suggestions to put the romance back into your life.
1. Write out an invitation for date night and send it to your mate.
2. For the man be sure and bring your date flowers.
3. Have a barbecue outside for just the two of you.
4. Watch the first movie you ever saw - once again. Make popcorn and have a glass of wine as you watch this.
5. Cook dinner together. Make a special desert such as cookies and eat them fresh from the oven.
6. Place lit candles throughout the living room or light a fire in the fireplace.
7. Have a theme night. Dress up as your favorite characters from movie, music, or literature. Plan this in advance to have food appropriate to your theme and have a movie to watch based on your theme.
8. Order take out food and feed one another.
9. Give each other a massage, even if it's only the neck and shoulders. You will be surprised at how a massage can stimulate both of you.
10. Play board games or cards. The loser has to do something for the other person.
11. Put on music and dance together. There's nothing more romantic than a slow dance.
12. Put on your sexiest lingerie under your clothes. Play strip poker.
13. Go out and play miniature golf.
14. Read together by candle light or firelight.
15. Have breakfast in bed for dinner and then snuggle under the covers.
16. Make out during the movie, just like you would on a date.
These are just a few suggestions to help you put back the fire in your relationship. The two of you came together for reason and with a bit of effort you can have the same feelings reignited once more.

It's a well established fact that getting and staying fit is best for you. While we live in this body we may as well live in it feeling good and looking good. Not many people will argue with that. There is, however, one problem. Getting fit is not the most exciting thing in the world and so it takes motivation to get fit and even more motivation to stay fit.
Weight issues are not only about food intake, but more about mindset. You could eat hot dogs all day and as long as you stay under your resting caloric metabolic rate, you will lose weight. Since the issues is one of mindset, the only way to get fit is to reprogram the Subconscious mind.
The Subconscious mind is a recorder and collector of all your life experiences, the good, the bad and the ugly. This collection of information is the root of all our habits, every single one of them. This includes our eating habits. As the poor eating habits become entrenched, they get harder to break. It's for this reason it is often hard to make healthy choices when it comes to our fitness. Although it seems like a bad thing, the subconscious mind is doing this out of convenience. Since we introduced these negative thoughts and constantly reinforced them, the subconscious mind is doing us a favor by making them routine. This routine of course leads to an expanding waistline. These routines can lead to far far worse things such as debilitating addictions. The only way to "reset" the subconscious mind so it doesn't continue to reinforce these habits is to reprogram it or at least short circuit the habit loop. One way to do this is with Switchwords.
Switchwords are single words and are often found in various and unlimited combinations. They are one-word affirmations. Unlike the traditional affirmations that contain statements that your subconscious does not believe is true, Switchwords, bypass the interpretive aspect of your mind and engages the subconscious mind directly, thus making the desired result a bit more automatic and without resistance.
Switchwords penetrate the subconscious mind in ways that allow them to work synergistically and more effectively than just affirmations alone. They work together to make sure the subconscious mind's tendency to entrench bad habits is not activated. This means that you can make changes in your fitness level without the subconscious trying to get you back to your baseline. They are, for lack of a better term, powerful.
Here are just a few Switchwords you can say right now to help get you motivated. You can say them in your mind or out loud. Whatever you way you think is best. I will provide a list and what each switchword means.
ADD: This is to increase what you have, no matter what it is.
BE: This is a powerful one, this will help you to achieve good health.
BRING: This is a manifestation Switchword, it helps you unite with your goal, helps you finish what you started.
BUBBLE: This Switchword is really good at helping you expand your perceived limits, will help you push through your workout when you are fatigued.
CANCEL: Use this Switchword to eliminate negative thoughts and conditions. When you feel you are about to give up, this word is great to cancel those thoughts
CHARM: This will help you manifest your heart's desire.
CRYSTAL: This is a powerful Switchword that will help you clarify any situation or things. It helps you look to the future; both mentally and through clairvoyance. I use this one to clarify intentions when I feel blocked. It keeps me focused on my fitness goals.
DIVINE: This creates miracles of all types. Use it with any of the other Switchwords and you will notice the difference.
HALFWAY: When you are not in the mood to finish your workout, this one is great. It helps time fly.
MOVE: This one is amazingly effective if keeping your energy up during workouts. I use it with UP.
ON: This is a very powerful Switchword to help you get new ideas on how to get fit.
OFF: This one is used quit an unwanted habit AND it helps you go to sleep. This Switchword does help me sleep. If I wake up in the middle of the night, I can rely on "OFF" to help me get back to sleep quickly. I love it.
STRETCH: This will help you prolong a good feeling, event or a sense of well-being you are experiencing. It will also help you grow intellectually, spiritually and physically. By grow I mean become better
TINY: For fitness purposes this is great to reduce size, in other words it will help you lose weight.
TOGETHER: This is considered to be THE Master Switchword to help you master any activity. Get things all together. It is also used to become single-minded when you need to be. It's the most powerful Switchword in the list.
UP: This one dispels negative moods and gives you extra energy. I use this with MOVE.

People from a couple of decades ago would probably have a hard time understanding what internet marketing. In the past, marketing strategies revolve around making commercial advertisements, distributing flyers, giving out promotional discounts and the like.
But now, the internet has revolutionized the way people and companies do marketing. Few of the examples that are commonly employed now as internet marketing are email marketing, social media management, search engine optimization, and the like.
Email marketing is a great tool to promote a product, service or a brand. There are over four billion people who have email addresses. There is more than half of the entire world's population. To be able to tap even a small percentage of that email users or account holders is being able to have a chance to get the attention of more as many people as possible.
But getting the attention of one's market does not end at getting their email address. It also has a lot to do with the content of the message sent. This is where the expertise and strategies of traditional marketing agents and experts come in. Just like every other kind of marketing plan, the email must contain things that will attract the market at the soonest possible instance.
Social media management is one of the best, if not the best, method of internet marketing at the present time. Though there are a lot more email account holders, there are certainly more active and avid users of social marketing sites.
Some studies show that people's most waking hours are spent online. And with the internet becoming more accessible especially in cities and urbanized towns, going online to browse, chat, upload and download stuff have become very easy. These activities have even become part of people's daily routine.
Yes, social networking sites are great venue for marketing one's brand or product. But it has to be remembered that people go to these sites to do their personal stuff. They post status update, pictures, chat with friends, and the like. For a marketing strategy to work, the method of advertising and the type of market that will be tapped will have to be considered.
Properly defining one's target market is imperative in a successful marketing plot. The users of social networking accounts are of mixed age, gender, and status. Shot gun marketing is not advisable as this may lead to people not seeing the goal and purpose for the marketing scheme. The method may be thought of as a scam, spam and other, which may consequently cause people to not take seriously or ignore the schemes brought through these social networking sites.
The content of the marketing scheme is equally important as choosing the right market. One has to remember that marketing via social marketing sites is not a spandex that will fit all. Everything has to be tailor-fitted to the market that is being targeted for the product, service, brand and others.

Article Title: Trends In The Wholesale And Retail Loose Leaf Tea Industry

The tea industry in the United Sates is a growth industry and the role of retailers or value added resellers has played an important part in the overall expansion. Value added resellers and retailers add significant value to the tea industry as they bundle tea offerings with quality dining and other services but they must be supported by comprehensive wholesale programs that are reliable , consistent and profitable.
What trends are driving the market?
In most countries in the world, tea is the second most popular beverage after water. The one exception is tea drinking in the United States. But the market for quality loose leaf tea has unlimited upside potential for tea drinkers in this country.
The market for high quality loose leaf tea is experiencing strong growth and this is expected to continue for the foreseeable future. The growth of revenue and profits in the value added retail sector of the market is also very strong particularly when tea is prepared and presented as a part of a total offering in tea rooms, fine dining establishments and hotels.
There are a number of factors influencing this growth in loose leaf tea demand:
• The incredible good taste of tea and blends.
• The health benefits of tea.
• The wide variety of tea flavors and blends.
• A growing awareness about the enjoyment benefits of loose leaf tea .
• An expansion of the value added reseller network for quality loose tea.
• Many consumers are looking for an alternative to coffee as a hot or iced drink of choice.
• Consumers are tired of the "tea bag mentality" where the taste and quality of tea is sacrificed for the convenience of the tea bag.
Because of a number of historic factors like the American Revolution and other socio-economic events, the market for loose leaf teas was stalled for over two centuries in the United States but that is changing dramatically and rapid growth is now a fact.
What is the biggest mistake retailers make in regards to their tea program?
The biggest mistake that retailers make is the failure to prepare and present tea properly.
Quality tea, served either hot or iced, is a wonderful discriminator for any restaurant, tea room or hotel. Quality, loose leaf tea on the menu of a high quality food establishment will separate the retailer from the competition.
Quality tea can also serve as a profit center for the retailer as consumers are willing to pay extra for a quality cup of hot tea or glass of quality iced tea.
Many resellers however, have not focused on the value that tea can bring to their Unique Selling Proposition. Through oversight in the tea offering, many consumers are left with lower levels of satisfaction and this is adversely affecting retailers and their overall product offering.
For consumers, there is nothing more deflating for the total dining experience than a bad cup of tea, offered without consideration to the consumer. At the close of an otherwise ideal meal experience costing in excess of $100.00 per person, customer satisfaction can be ruined by simple oversight. This happens time and again as tea drinkers, expecting a quality brew are slighted by a saucer with tea bags mixed with a cup or bowl of warm tap water.
Ending a meal this way is a good way to loose customers to the competition.
Advice to retailers to maximize their tea program
High quality loose leaf tea can play an important part in a retailer's business. As the demand for quality loose leaf tea expands, retailers should :
• Understand the tea culture and the role of tea in growing your business
• Use only the highest quality loose leaf tea.
• Train your staff to prepare and present both hot and iced tea in a quality manner.
• Offer the customer the best tea ware (tea infusers and pots) to complete the presentation.
• Include quality tea as part of you Unique Value Proposition and product/service offering.
Things to keep in mind for new retailers
The most important thing is to deal with a tea manufacturer that offers a total benefit program to the retailer including:
• Highest quality, best tasting tea backed up by superior packaging and a no questions asked guarantee of quality.
• Dedicated customer support with staff knowledgeable about tea and the tea business (not just taking orders)
• Multiple-tier wholesale pricing. with volume based discounts.
• Easy ordering and order lookup.
• Unlimited shipping locations per order.
• Single point of billing for multiple locations.
• Automatic recall of locations and recipients.
Value added tea resellers and retailers add significantly to the tea industry but they also need quality wholesale programs to support their value added efforts. Retailers should seek out the best tea suppliers that meet their value added requirements.

In a competitive world productivity is king. When employees are productive in their jobs, everyone benefits from the individual employee, the firm, the consumer and the economy as a whole. Increased productivity is one of the main elements returning a depressed economy to health and growth...
High levels of productivity are hard to maintain however, particularly in the office environment. Even small increases in productivity can result in greater profits for the firm and better wages and benefits for employees.
What Are The Most Harmful Elements for Productivity?
In the office environment the two factors with the most negative effects on productivity are sugar and dehydration. New studies show that these two factors, both individually and together have a significant and direct decrease in employee productivity.
The Problem with Sugar
Sugar, particularly processed sugar, is detrimental to productivity and recent studies of the workforce in the United Kingdom indicate that productivity can be significantly increased by eliminating sugar from the workplace.1 The greatest sources of sugar in the workplace are carbonated soft drinks that are loaded with sugar and other harmful ingredients.
Sugar, when initially ingested, causes a sharp burst of energy but the effects wear off rapidly resulting in the well known "Sugar Crash" or "Siesta Syndrome." The "Sugar Crash" or "Siesta Syndrome" is evidenced by lethargy, loss of interest in work tasks and even sleepiness – all results that decrease productivity.
The UK study concluded with the following regarding the "Siesta Syndrome:"
• Three quarters of UK workers admit to being less productive in the afternoon
• A quarter believe they produce the least work between 2pm and 4pm
• More than half (52 percent) admit to making mistakes during this time
• Men are 10 percent more likely to make mistakes than women
• One in ten admit they are 90 -100 percent less productive during this time
The study concluded that the main cause for the productivity inhibiting "Siesta Syndrome" was the effect of sugar on the body:
"Misconceptions still exist about why employees suffer from "Siesta Syndrome" but usually the main reasons for this drop in productivity are meals being skipped and the wrong sorts of food being eaten. If workers feel they don't have time for lunch or don't have the option of healthy food being available within the office, it's no wonder that by 2pm sugar levels are so low they affect brain activity levels."
The UK study continues with specific recommendations to maintain productivity:
• Avoid sweet foods and sugary drinks, which cause sudden sugar boosts, followed by a lull in energy.
• Cut back on alcohol and caffeine, which artificially stimulate energy levels.
• Drink plenty of water. Even slight dehydration will affect mental and physical performance leaving you feeling tired and groggy.
Many companies, in an effort to increase productivity in the work place have made pure water available to employees at convenient places in the office or plant. The cost is small and the returns are large making pure water a good investment.
Dehydration is Also a Factor
Dehydration drains the energy of workers and significantly reduces productivity.
In addition, dehydration is hard to spot in its early stages and by the time a person is noticeably thirsty, they are thoroughly dehydrated. Dehydration leads to symptoms similar to low blood sugar and the impact on productivity can be considerable.
A recent study on dehydration and its effects on the workplace concluded that dehydration has a major impact on productivity and dehydration is pervasive in the work force resulting from inadequate intake of liquids, particularly water.2
The cure for dehydration is simple and effective – pure drinking water that is easily accessible and in abundant quantities.
Why Purified Water?
There are many forms of drinking water and they vary in quality:
• Tap water is accessible but contains contaminants and other minerals that are harmful to long term health and tastes bad because of the addition of chlorine.
It is interesting to note that the Dehydration Study noted above concluded that the main cause of dehydration was the fact that many employees did not like to drink tap water because of the harsh, unpleasant taste of chlorine.
• Bottled water is often bottled tap water or spring water that often contains chemicals and contaminants due to industrial or agricultural runoff. The taste of spring water is also unpleasant to some consumers.
• Purified water. By far the purest and best tasting water is purified water created through a distillation/oxygenation process that delivers pure water with a light refreshing taste. Purified water not only increases productivity but it tastes good and encourages employees to drink more water.
Productivity is a critical issue for any company or organization. A simple and cost effective way to increase productivity is by supplying employees with an ample and easily accessible supply of the purest, freshest tasting water.
Increase productivity with purified water for only a small investment.
Try it and see the results.

If you're ready for something a little different at tea time, try a flavored oolong tea. Many Westerners have not experienced the delicious flavor of oolong tea in any form. With a different flavor than black, green or white teas, oolongs are a rare treat. When paired with another flavor, oolong teas are quite exceptional.
Oolong tea is very popular in Asia. It was first created in China and is still considered China's national tea. In the West, however, it is one of the least familiar tea varieties.
Oolong tea is also sometimes known as Wulong tea, after it's originator. According to Chinese legend, Wu Liang, a Chinese tea gardener, was busy collecting and processing tea leaves when he spotted a river deer. He stopped to kill and prepare the deer and it interrupted his tea processing for the day. He forgot to dry out the leaves, and only remembered them the next day.
By this time it had begun to change color, and Wu Liang was afraid it had gone bad, but decided to finish drying it anyway. After completing the drying process, he made himself a cup and found that he had created a very flavorful and aromatic tea – and oolong was born.
Oolong tea, in terms of processing, falls somewhere between green and black tea. Oolong tea is semi-fermented, meaning that it does go through a fermentation process, but for a shorter time than black tea.
Tea leaves for oolong tea are picked early in the day and then dried indoors to promote fermenting. But, the fermentation process must be stopped when the leaves are 30% red and 70% green. Once fermentation has stopped, the tea leaves are rubbed, which releases the aroma, flavor and texture. Finally, the leaves are dried using charcoal, before they are graded for quality and sent for packaging.
Most oolong tea is grown in the Fujian region of China, but some is grown in Taiwan, and a small amount is grown in the Darjeeling region of India and in Vietnam.
In Taiwan, oolong tea is referred to as Formosa tea, in reference to the country's original name. Formosa tea is sometimes fermented for a shorter period of time than in China; sometimes the leaves are only about 15% fermented, compared to the typical 30%. These Taiwanese oolong teas are known as "pouchongs". In addition, Taiwanese oolong teas are dried in the sun rather than indoors.
Oolong teas have a very fruity flavor, often with smoky or toasted undertones. They are typically very fragrant teas, often with a floral aroma. Because of the natural fruitiness of oolong teas, they are often blended with other fruit flavors. The combination of oolong tea with other fruits only enhances the oolong's natural flavor. Some of the most common blends of oolong include:
Coconut Oolong – This oolong tea has a very tropical taste. The combination of the fruity oolong or pouchong tea with the sweetness of coconut creates a light and sweet tea. Because it is light and flavorful, this tea is equally delicious hot or cold.
Orange Oolong – Oolong tea is often blended with orange blossoms or bergamot oil. Orange blossom oolong will provide a very light and sweet orange flavor to the tea. Oolong tea flavored with bergamot oil will be bolder and more flavorful. Bergamot oil comes from the very citrusy bergamot orange and is the flavor used in all Earl Grey teas. Hence, you'll see this tea labeled as Earl Grey oolong.
Orchid Oolong – This is a very rare oolong, scented with real orchid petals. It can only be produced at certain times of year, when the right orchids are blooming. It produces a very fragrant and lightly sweet tea. When buying this tea, be certain that it has been flavored with real orchid petals rather than an artificial flavoring.
Peach Oolong – Many people describe the fruitiness of oolong tea as resembling the flavor of peaches. So, adding peach pieces to oolong tea is a natural choice. The addition simply enhances oolong's natural aroma and flavor.
Almond Blossom Oolong – Oolong tea flavored with almond blossom and slivers of almond provides a light and sweet tea with just a hint of almond flavor.
You may also find other blends of oolong tea. With its natural fruity flavor, oolong tea can combine well with nearly any fruit and with many other botanicals, as well. Drinking flavored oolong teas can provide another taste dimension to the already flavorful taste of oolong. Additional flavors and aromas make the tea go well at different times of the day and with different foods.
Consider for example, choosing a spirited flavored oolong like Earl Grey oolong for a mid day meal, or a glass of iced coconut oolong on a hot afternoon. A mild almond blossom oolong can provide a perfect way to wind down after a stressful day.
Oolong teas are some of the most versatile teas available. You may find them a bit harder to locate and somewhat expensive, but they are certainly worth the effort and the expense. Oolong is a tea with many dimensions and one that provides some of the most complex and subtle flavor combinations. Spend a little time experiencing the many different flavors available in oolong tea. You're certain to find quite a few that you'll want to enjoy again and again.

Article Title: How Is Imperial Formosa Oolong Different From Other Teas?

*********************** ARTICLE START ***********************
Many tea drinkers are unfamiliar with Imperial Formosa oolong teas. Oolong teas, in general, are not as well known in the Western world as other teas, but they are certainly worth investigating.
Oolong teas are those that are fermented for a shorter period of time than black teas. This shorter fermentation period creates a tea that is a bit blacker than green tea, but a bit greener than black tea. This "middle ground" that is oolong tea produces an extremely fragrant cup of tea, with slightly more complex flavors than other teas.
Oolong teas originated, like most other teas, in China many years ago. Formosa oolongs, however are different than these traditional Chinese oolong teas. Formosa oolong teas are produced in Taiwan. They are referred to as Formosa oolong teas because Formosa was the original name for Taiwan.
Oolong teas are different from other teas in the special attention that they require for proper processing. Oolong leaves are plucked by hand, and then allowed to wither and dry. Chinese oolong teas typically wither in sheds while Formosa oolong teas are withered and dried in the sun.
Then the tea leaves must be bruised slightly to begin the oxidation process. During this process, the leaves are often shaken or tumbled on a regular basis. Once the leaves are appropriately fermented, they are fired to end the oxidation process. All of these steps must be attended to by a skilled tea artisan to ensure that the oolong tea is properly prepared.
Because of the care required to make a good oolong tea, they are typically made by hand in small tea gardens. High yield, mechanized tea production doesn't produce fine quality oolong teas.
Oolong teas have a different flavor than white, black or green teas because of their shorter fermentation period. Oolong teas are typically milder than black teas with less of a grassy taste than green teas. They are typically fragrant with distinct floral notes and have a fruity flavor, often slightly peachy.
Formosa oolongs are some of the most fragrant and fruity of all oolong teas. The peach notes are typically very noticeable in both the aroma and flavor, but it is often blended with woody and nutty notes. Many people describe Imperial Formosa oolong teas as having a chestnut flavor. Many people consider oolong teas to have the most sophisticated and complex flavor of any variety of tea.
Formosa oolong teas are graded differently than Chinese oolong teas. The government of Taiwan imposed a standard grading system for its teas that makes if easy to ensure that you're receiving a high quality tea. The best grade of Formosa tea is called "Finest to Choice" and the second highest grade is called "Finest".
In fact, Formosa oolong teas are some of the easiest to judge, as the grades really speak to the quality of the tea. By choosing loose Formosa teas of one of the highest grades, you'll ensure that you're getting the best quality for the money.
Formosa oolong tea, like other oolong teas is different, too, in the way that it's brewed. Tradition calls for you to "awaken" the oolong tea leaves before brewing them. To do this, prepare your water by boiling it and letting it cool to about 180°F.
Pour a bit of the hot water over the tea leaves, rinsing them and then quickly pouring off the water. This brings the flavor and aroma of the tea to life. Then pour more water over the leaves to actually brew the tea.
Formosa Imperial oolong tea should be brewed only about one minute. Over brewing this mild tea can cause it to be bitter. Brewing Imperial Formosa oolong tea with spring water that is high in mineral content will yield the best tasting tea. The mineral content in the water brings out the flavor of the tea.
Formosa oolong tea leaves can be used to produce several infusions of tea. Each infusion will taste just a bit different. You'll notice that different flavors are prominent with different infusions. Though each infusion is different, each will be delicious if you've selected a good quality tea.
Formosa Imperial oolong tea is a very healthy drink. Like all teas, oolong tea has a very high anti-oxidant content. The partial fermentation that oolong tea undergoes ensures that it is very high in the anti-oxidant polyphenol. Polyphenol is a very powerful anti-oxidant that has been shown, in particular to have strong powers to prevent heart disease and cancer.
In addition, all oolong teas have been found to be an effective weight loss supplement. Oolong tea helps speed the metabolism and oxidize fat, both of which enhance weight loss.
So, Imperial Formosa oolong tea is good and good for you. You'll find this sophisticated blend of nut, flower and fruit flavors to be especially pleasing to the palate. Combine this with the fact that it has the power to prevent disease and help you live a longer and healthier life and you must agree that Imperial Formosa oolong tea is one smart choice in beverages.

We all want to buy low cost term life insurance. It is just the wise thing to do. I was recently having a casual conversation with one of my neighbor about life insurance and was surprised to see the amount of premium he was paying for term insurance.
I did some research for him and found the exact type of policy that he had for about half of the premium he was paying. This policy was from one of the better known life insurance giants...a company over 100 years old.
You can find low cost term life insurance from a reputable life insurance company if you take the time to do the research. Look for the carriers that are rated A+ or better by the AM Best company. AM Best does the research, that is their function.
The most popular term life insurance policies are the 10 year term policy, the 15 year term policy, the 20 year term policy, the 25 year term policy and the 30 year term policy. Let us take a look at each and see how you could benefit from one or more of these low cost term life insurance policies.
10 Year Term Life Insurance
10 year term has a very low premium cost per $1000 of death benefit. If you need a policy to protect your loved ones for a short period of time then this may be the right policy for you. Let us say your youngest child is 15 years old and you expect that this child will graduate college by age 25 all you need to do is to calculate the amount of income you will need each month for the next 10 years and buy a policy sufficient to provide this income. The death benefit remains level for the entire 10 year period. It never decreases.
15 Year Term Life Insurance
The 15 year term policy can also be considered a low cost term life insurance policy. It is usually used in a similar manner to the 10 year term but for a longer period. If your youngest child is age 10 then you would need a 15 year term policy to do the job of protecting your dependent children. The death benefit remains level for the duration and so does the premium.
20 Year Term Life Insurance
Let us take a little time to look at the way to use the 20 year term policy. As it is a term policy the premiums are quite low. This policy is probably the most exciting of all term policies. The reason is because it is usually bought at an exciting time in your life. You just got married or are about to. You logical thing to do is to buy a 20 year term policy to protect your adorable spouse in the event of your death.
You and your spouse have an addition to the family so you each buy a 20 year term policy to protect your newborn child.
You start a business, whether it be a sole proprietorship, a partnership, or a corporation you know you need to buy some life insurance.
This policy has a level death benefit as well as a level premium for the duration.
25 year term life insurance
You may say 25 years is too far to look. Well, let us look at the first situation we discussed. You expect your children to graduate college by age 25. If you are newlywed you likely don't have any children as yet or if you have a new addition to the family the 25 year term policy will work just fine for you. Premiums are level and so is the death benefit.
30 Year Term Life Insurance
The 30 year term policy is for people who look even further ahead. This is a low cost life insurance policy that can protect your family right up until you retire and get a pension, that is if you are age 35 or older at the time of purchase. This policy works just like the other policies.
When in the market for low cost term life insurance you should keep in mind that the longer the duration of the term policy the higher the cost. The 10 year policy will cost less in premiums than the 15 year term and so on.

Smoker term life insurance is available online for those who qualify, you need to be in fairly good health. Because of the great campaign against cigarette smoking insurance carriers have created different rates for people who smoke. Premiums are lower for most people as a result, those who smoke pay a little more.
It is believed that smoking can cause heart disease and lung cancer. If you smoke you are not expected to live as long as a non smoker. You can still get a policy if you are fairly healthy but the premiums will be higher.
Term insurance is quite popular these days so let us look at the types of term policies available online without your having to do a medical exam. The plans offered by most online carriers are 10 year, 15 year, 20 year and 30 year term. Most companies avoid the 5 year term plans and the 25 year term policies for some reason. It could be that these don't sell very well.
Let us now take a look at each plan and see how they would fit your particular needs. Smoker term life insurance is available for all these plans.
10 Year Term Insurance
This plan has a level death benefit and level premiums for the duration, they never increase or decrease. It is used for short term needs, death benefit usually payable in a limp sum or it can be paid in income form.
15 Year Term Insurance
This is also a popular policy with level premiums and death benefits. Again for a fairly short period of time. All ages buy this policy, some people convert to permanent insurance later on.
20 Year Term Insurance
For some reason many people select 20 year term insurance, 20 years seem to be a good long period I think. It also has level death benefit and level premiums with a conversion period in some cases. You just got married or had an addition to the family, you want to fund a buy-sell agreement with life insurance, these are reasons to buy the 20 year or 30 year term.
30 Year Term Insurance
More people are selecting this policy as time goes by. Life insurance is quite important to most intelligent people, why not a level term policy.
Riders
If you opt to add riders you may. For a minimal additional premium you can add the waiver of premium rider to your smoker term life policy. This rider provides that if you should become disabled your premiums will be waived, you must be disabled for a minimum of 6 months.
You may also add an accidental death benefit rider, otherwise known as a double indemnity rider. This rider pays an additional amount equal to the face amount if you die in an accident. The premium for this rider is also minimal.
You need life insurance whether you smoke or not, one of these plans may fit your need. You can get them online and get them instantly. Keep in mind that smoker term life insurance costs a little more though.

Getting started decorating your home to a particular style or theme can seem a daunting prospect at first but if you break it down into steps a difficult task can become significantly easier. Although it would be great to get your entire flat or house decorated in the same style at once it can be much easier to take a piece by piece approach and work towards a goal over time rather than trying to achieve everything at once.
Before you even start any work you need to create a plan of how you want your house to look, what style are you going for? If you don't create a detailed plan of what you are aiming for from the start you might find yourself slowly drifting off course. While your home has the potential to look great in any one of a number of styles what you don't want to do is start off decorating and working towards one style and ending up at another resulting in a hodgepodge of styles lacking a common theme.
To get started creating your plan try to decide on an overall theme by investigating magazines, friend's houses and appropriate television shows and books for ideas and gathering them together to find the look that is going to suit you and your house. You'll need to consider what colours you're going to use, the texture and patterns involved in the fabrics as well as what furniture, lighting and accessories you are going to buy, not to mention the flooring and curtains. If all this sounds overwhelming it can be a great idea to hire a professional designer to help you with your project. Although many people think you can't hire a designer unless you are decorating an entire house many of them will be happy to work on smaller products. If you find the right designer they may well be happy to consult and give you advice for a smaller fee while leaving much of the work to you.
Once you've settled on what style décor you're going with you're ready to begin. It is best to start with one room at a time and to focus on it until finished otherwise you'll end up with an entire house full of unfinished rooms. You should have a budget for each room and you'll need to be disciplined in sticking with it if you want to see the project through to completion. When making purchases buy from more than one shop to avoid looking like your house has been ordered straight out of a catalogue. Once you've decided on your overall style it's up to you to choose individual and unique pieces that will meet this style while giving your room character and individuality. Article Title: What Is The Nature Of Consciousness?

I liken the word mind to consciousness. They may or may not be synonymous depending on who you ask. Consciousness is the essence of who and what we are. It is awareness. What it focuses on is where it exists at that moment. It has no body, form, or identifiable parts, and its perceived qualities include but are not limited to: intellect, emotion, reasoning, dreaming, imagination, and thought. These "qualities" can only be considered applications of consciousness. They do not define it. Its existence is actually undefinable. It's easier to describe what consciousness is not. Entities existing as consciousness have no name. The unknown nature of consciousness makes it more difficult to perceive than nonphysical beings. It's not restricted to the spirit world. It is impossible to know whether consciousness is composed of the same kind of energy which pervades the nonphysical universe. Whether consciousness exists as a common vibration is debatable. Many people feel this is the case. Most metaphysicists agree that all conscious beings are part of the greater consciousness we call Infinite Intelligence. God is a collective being. This means we all belong to it.
Consciousness is continuously expanding through the absorption of human experiences. The ego part of consciousness may also be shrinking simultaneously. I have provided this information in other articles, but it is worth repeating. Knowledge makes the mind grow. This is the mission of consciousness. It can be no other way. Why does consciousness seek to expand? Our individual minds seek to aid the growth of the higher self, and in turn, the growth of the Infinite One. There is an expansion of consciousness on all levels. Our individual's minds are part of the much larger mind. This is why the Infinite One is a collective entity.
The mind or consciousness is the ultimate creator of personal reality. Whatever the mind perceives in physical reality is first manifested on the mental plane. The mind gives life to "things" as an expression of its creativity. Consciousness creates infinite dimensions of reality in order to fulfill its mission of expansion. Consciousness cannot learn without creating physical and nonphysical environments. These environments allow conscious beings to experiment with life and create challenges to overcome. The mind needs to be challenged. This is the best way to learn and grow. The mind becomes dull and lifeless without testing itself. By pushing itself, consciousness can test the perceived boundaries of reality to which it sees itself confined.
We are responsible for everything we have created. This is a tremendous responsibility. Consciousness is a force of immeasurable power. We do not know our potential in this world. Any dream or fantasy can be realized by a conscious being. Most of us haven not discovered this latent ability. We have the ability to make our wildest dreams come true. As we push the limits of human creativity, we will become aware of this awesome power. As this happens we come closer and closer realizing our true nature as Gods of the universe. This process draws us nearer to the Whole where love abounds. However, this is a process and needs to be conducted one experience at a time. Each level must be accomplished. We cannot skip ahead to a higher level. There is a continuity to life that cannot be broken no matter how eager we may be to reach the higher realms. There is no end to this process. This is why refer to God as the Infinite One.

*********************** ARTICLE START ***********************
Since I have publically revealed my mystical and spiritual connection to the 19th and 20th century British occult writer Arthur Edward Waite, I thought I should explain my relationship with the distinguished author.
While past life experiences live within your subconscious, your past life personalities continue on as disembodied spirits in the nonphysical environment. Past lives at their choosing may take an active role in assisting their present incarnation (being us). This is a recognized metaphysical principle amongst modern mystics. At least it's a theory I believe to be true.
A person comes into this life with baggage from their past life. We are not aware of the hardships of our past life because they are buried in our subconscious. They are hidden with good reason. We are not meant to have knowledge of their existence because it would hinder and even thwart the success of our present life. Ultimately, these memories are excluded from our awareness because their presence would impede the unfolding of the Master Plan which the Universal Consciousness has established for humanity. It should be noted that there are rare occasions when our past lives will be revealed to us in order to facilitate a particular outcome in the present life.
Your past life personality is invested in seeing you conquer the challenges you did not overcome in your previous incarnation. Although past lives generally work behind the scenes as invisible helpers, they will occasionally become actively involved in helping you achieve the goals of your pre-life plans. Your pre-life designs may involve working on specific relationships, for example. Or it may be to master a love of material things. Your past life personality is interested in seeing your missions succeed since he or she made the decision to work on them in the first place.
I became aware of AE Waite when I moved from my home state to a distant city. When I was on vacation, driving along a busy interstate, a word entered my mind. I asked my wife to write the word down. Later, we found that the word was the name of the living community we moved in to. The day that we arrived, a curious thing happened. I was watching television when I heard a fizz in the background. I thought nothing of it until my wife asked me if I had opened a second bottle of soda. I insisted I had not. We argued about this for a short time until we realized someone else had done it. The sound reminded me of a Champaign bottle being opened.
After this incident, I attended a local Spiritualist Church. The pastor informed me of the presence of a spirit named "Arthur." I asked my mother and father about this situation. I came away empty handed. I began looking at genealogy sites on the Internet. At one point, I saw an entry for AE Waite. Suddenly, an electrified sensation came over me, and I understood how all of the unusual events of my earlier years fit together. I realized that Arthur Waite was my past life. That doesn't mean he is in my family tree. Nor does it mean that I have any scientific evidence to support this claim. These "knowings" are powerful. A knowing is taken to be fact by the person who had the experience. I define a knowing as an unexplained happening or notion that a reasonable person believes to be true despite the absence of factual support or evidence to the contrary. Tens of thousands of people in this country have experienced a knowing and can relate to what I am saying.
When I returned to the pastor for a private reading, she confirmed my suspicions that the discarnate spirit of Arthur Edward Waite was with me. As time passed, several mediums, a few of whom are prominent in the Spiritualist tradition, verified Arthur's interest in my writings. Mediums from different churches were positive of his attendance at services, meditation circles, and trainings. Arthur would typically comment on my book writing and make suggestions for improvement. The supernatural activity I witnessed during this time was incredible. Arthur regularly made himself known in my home by turning on electronic devices, rapping, and moving objects. There was also a host of other nonhuman entities in the house. I determined some of these nonphysical beings to be what enlightened people politely call negative energies. I am certain that their presence has something to do with Arthur's involvement in the Golden Dawn. It's also conceivable that they are a gift from Aleister Crowley, who sent me his mental salutations years prior to my discovery of Arthur Waite.
In the past I have asked myself if the information I believe to be coming from Arthur, is not actually being produced by my subconscious. This is unlikely since it has been confirmed by what I deem to be reliable sources that Arthur is in my environment, and interested in my books. What I say, is what Arthur would certainly state if his spirit were able to do so.
There are many things I know that Arthur feels he could have done differently and better in his life. However, he truly enjoyed his career as an occult researcher and writer. To be fair, his passion was with the Spiritualist movement of Andrew Jackson Davis, and esoteric teachings of Rosicrucian orders to which he belonged. Arthur leaned more in the direction of mysticism than the occult; although there is some overlap between the two. I know this in part from reading articles about him.
I intuitively know that there were things Arthur regrets and situations he wishes he could take back or do over. I should say those are the impressions I get from that life. Arthur as a spirit is probably able to act as an outside observer to see how the poor decisions he made created the situations he experienced. Being in that position has less of an effect on you than actually going through it as a human. I am not sure of this though since I have not been granted access to relive these memories. I have inherited his unfinished business. Those things that frustrated him have now become my challenges. Arthur was not always well spoken of by his peers. He is partly responsible for this because of his sarcastic nature. In this century, he is remembered for his critical and demeaning attitude. This is one area Arthur has decided he would like me to focus on. I feel positive about this challenge.
Of course, I am an independent personality from Arthur. We are connected and yet distinct from each other. This is a new life with its own circumstances. This is not the turn of the twentieth century in the United Kingdom. I do not write like Arthur for that reason. In fact, I have not read any of his books due to his writing style. I will not pretend to know Arthur's private history or his personal mannerisms. That information has not been made known to me except through feelings and impressions. Again, he has only spoken to me through mediums regarding my writing. I do believe that what comes out of my mouth is what Arthur himself would express. That theory makes sense in the context of reincarnation.
The material describing the Body Alive Principle in Illusion of the Body could have been made into a much smaller volume. I added quite a bit of information to support the theory. The First Truth was written differently and covers a wide range of mystical concepts from the nature of reality, the reality of the inner self, the meaning of life, and a metaphysical examination of psychotic illness and psychotropic drugs. These are traditional subjects of concern in mysticism. The material for The First Truth confirms many of the theories other mystics have proposed. Arthur considers old information to be new information if the reader has never heard it before. It also introduces certain theories that may not have been suggested by other writers of metaphysics. For instance, in mysticism and other esoteric philosophies it is accepted that thoughts are deemed to be "things," they are mental constructs of mind with their own consciousness, vitality, and degree of intellect. If this is true, then it is safe to say that the imagery people with schizophrenia see are real on some level. This must also be true of the visions seen by users of hallucinogenic drugs. While this notion may seem absurd to the practical and reasoning mind, the mystic gives fair consideration to these matters. These are some of possibilities put forth in The First Truth.
With each new incarnation come new missions and challenges. An old spirit will not repeat his or her previous life as such a practice is not favorable to one's spiritual evolution. A spirit will embark on new adventures or attempt to improve on old problems by approaching them in fresh new ways. Lingering on old themes retards one's spiritual development. The law of expansion which is the key to the meaning of life compels us to expand our knowledge by engaging in new experiences. For this reason, Arthur Waite has chosen to withdraw his attention from the Tarot cards which made him famous. The Tarot was something that he accomplished in his life time. Having done that, he (being me) has new tests and trials to face. That does not diminish the importance of the Tarot deck. They serve a purpose in the world, as a means for some talented psychics to communicate with the spirit world. Rest assured that Arthur will not belittle his own creation or ask that it be abandoned by its users.
I know that Arthur Waite has a new message for the world. It is also my message since I am a reflection of him. There is a change of great magnitude upon us. This profound prophecy is accepted and communicated by mystics, psychics, spiritualists, shamans, light workers, energy healers, mediums, sages, clairvoyants, sensitives, channels, and what have you. This paradigm shift or what I like to refer to as the Great Awakening has been foretold by many of the celebrated channeled entities of modern times. This transformation promises a spiritual awakening in the Mass Consciousness. Hence I have dubbed this event the Great Awakening. This divine decree will usher in a new era in our understanding of the nature of reality. In turn, it will lead to a more peaceful existence in our relationships with each other, and the universe. When will this happen? Many people have made false predictions about its arrival. The spirit world does not operate with clocks and calendars. It adheres to the law of generation, which states that things happen at the appropriate time. However, I can clearly see signs of this impending shift in our midst.
My belief is that one must face the challenges of life to initiate personal growth and development. The human spirit is required to test itself. Therefore, a person will allow stress into his or her life to effect this process. Stress gives us a way to grow as spiritual beings. In light of this theory, I feel there is possibility humanity may face considerable trials before being awakened to the truth. I believe that we learn incredibly valuable lessons through our most disturbing experiences. That's if we are resilient enough to bounce back from them. If life were always pleasant for us, we would learn nothing. So if, we expect to make such a monumental achievement on a global scale, we must also be prepared to exert ourselves mentally.
The message our friend Mr. Waite and I wish to send to those already awakened, no matter who you are, or what your ideology or faith may be, the time to prepare for the Great Awakening is now. We who have attained knowledge of higher things have a responsibility to lead others to the path of illumination. We are emissaries of the Infinite Intelligence. It is our duty to assist others in their own awakening. This means encouraging others to open their minds and consider unconventional ideas. It does not mean that we should go on a crusade to save people, or compel them accept our beliefs. Being an agent of change for the Infinite One requires compassion and good judgment. Leading captives of material reality to the light of truth may be the most worthy cause one can volunteer to support.

*********************** ARTICLE START ***********************
First, I would like to thank my readers for their positive feedback concerning my articles. It's a good way for me determine people's interests. I am writing fewer articles as I am working on a new book. It takes me more than fifteen minutes to write one of these papers. I put some thought into how the articles should be worded.
I had a friend years ago (before I moved away) who I believe is still a chaplain for a small hospice organization. This Chaplin has a mystical perception of the universe, which made him unique among his peers. We would often have discussions about metaphysics over lunch. One day I was commenting on how I had heard that astral projection is frowned upon by those in charge. The Chaplin turned to me and said "Who are these people?" I said to him, "They are the people who run this place (meaning reality)." He replied "Who are they though?" My sense was that he was insinuating that there exists some secret order or mysterious network controlling the activities of humanity. At the time, I didn't have a good answer. Since then, thoughts have come to me about this subject.
The simple answer is WE control this human experiment. I mean as human spirits. Spirits themselves are in charge of this whole operation. There are billions of spirits on the other side. I read somewhere that, at the turn of the 20th century, there were 64 billion human spirits on the other side. So who knows how many there are now. The point is there are enough spirits to manage every aspect of physical reality. This includes the way plants grow, the weather, the path of meteors, and everything that takes place in this universe. There are spirits who specialize in every kind of reality engineering, just as we have specialists in every area of the human endeavor. These disembodied professionals maintain control over the very complicated and delicate aspects of the functioning of this universe, right down to the atoms, and vibrations. My sense is that they are assisted by elemental and Earth spirits who do the dirty work.
I sense some sort of hierarchy of power within the spirit world. I am fairly confident in stating that a spirit must attain a certain level of growth before being given access to higher knowledge and greater responsibility. The level of experience a spirit has accumulated and the spirit's overall maturity seems to correspond to the type of information the spirit is allowed to access. The idea of a spiritual echelon has been proposed by many other authors throughout history. I am merely concurring with this notion. It seems as though spirits are given a greater role in carrying out the provisions of the Master plan as they accomplish their missions. It may be similar in some ways to the mystical fraternal organizations like the Golden Dawn and the Rosicrucian Orders.
I use to believe that when a person transitioned, he or she would be instantly enlightened and have complete knowledge of God, the nature of reality, and the meaning of life. These are the subjects that interest mystics. As a relatively new Spiritualist, I have learned that most spirits know far less than a living mystic, psychic, shaman, etc. Usually family and friends will speak through mediums to confirm that they have survived death. That's about it. They never seem to offer messages about what is going on around them in a detailed manner. Perhaps it is difficult to explain such things through mediumship. I'm sure there are cases where mediums have received some enlightening words, but barely enough to scratch the surface.
On another level there are entities like Seth, Abraham, Ramtha, Lazarus, Orin and Daben (and so on) who have provided us with incredible metaphysical knowledge. Much of this information is beyond the understanding of the greater part of humanity. This is only because channeling is not recognized by science as having merit. In my case, Arthur Edward Waite is my source of higher knowledge. Arthur is a human spirit possessing advanced knowledge. However, his understanding of the mystery of life is limited. You see humans are on the bottom of the pyramid in terms of being in the know.
Channeled entities, on the other hand, are higher intelligences. They are not human spirits in the way that we think of them (keeping in mind that I have not read many of these books). I have two theories concerning the identity of these beings. These helpful intelligences may come from other dimensions, which are connected to our human experience and to the Universal Consciousness. My second idea is that these entities are a conglomeration of spirits that have evolved into larger beings that speak as one voice through human channels. That is why you hear channeled entities speak to us in the plural "we." Some of these entities may have explained the nature of their existence in their channel's books.
I believe both of these theories could be true since some channeled entities have never been human. There are many other dimensions and extra-dimensional entities that work alongside us and who have an interest in our spiritual evolution. These channeled intelligences are our primary access to higher knowledge. The other way is through astral projection, which I have read is not permitted, even though many people do it. It may be that the Cosmic Administers believes it necessary to keep us in the dark in order for the great human experiment to take place. Were we to know the truth, this production would come to an end. Total global awareness may be the next phase in the Master Plan.
Your comments are very much encouraged and appreciated. Thank you.

If you want to begin meeting your weight loss goals and would like to seek the advice and guidance of a professional weight loss clinic as you embark on a new diet plan, there is certainly no shortage of choices for you to choose from. Weight loss centers of all shapes and sizes are popping up throughout the nation to cater to the needs of those individuals who know they want to shed some pounds, but just aren't sure how to go about doing it. For countless people, creating and sticking to a diet and exercise plan of their own making simply isn't effective. They require mentoring and accountability when it comes to staying faithful to a diet, which is where a weight loss clinic comes in. It is imperative that you find a clinic that fits your unique needs, so make sure to do your research before committing to the services of any one weight loss center.
Decide How Much Weight You Want to Lose
Clarifying your weight loss goals is an important first step in the process of dropping pounds. While some people want to lose 10 or 15 pounds so that their clothes fit better, other people need to lose large amounts of weight if they are in danger of becoming obese or developing chronic health conditions like diabetes or heart disease. Knowing your goals will make it easier for you to narrow down the list of potential weight loss clinics that you are considering. For instance, if you only want to lose those last 10 pounds, going to a clinic that specializes in lap band surgery for people who are morbidly obese may not be a good fit. Simply calling different clinics and asking about their "average patient" may be a good way for you to gauge how much experience they have with patients who share your particular needs.
Explore Each Clinic's Staff & List of Services
Weight loss clinics offer a variety of different services. Some weight loss centers may focus on prescribing fitness regimens to their patients, in which case they may offer an on-site gym or have a staff of personal trainers. Other weight loss clinics will have a more clinical setting, and may resemble a doctor's office. Still others will have a spa-like atmosphere so that patients can feel as if they are being pampered as they get weight loss counseling. Regardless of how the clinic itself looks, it is important that the facility is staffed by experienced professionals. Make sure to ask each clinic you are considering if there is a supervising physician, the name of the physician, how often the doctor is in the office, and if you will meet with the doctor personally. Find out who will be prescribing your weight loss plan and who will be monitoring it. You may also want to ask about the presence of nurses and dieticians on staff. As you conduct this research, try to get a sense of how much guidance you will receive from the staff during your weight loss journey. Many clinics offer personal coaching, meal plan assessments, and one-on-one counseling sessions to help keep you motivated and on track with your diet.
Read Reviews & Testimonials
One of the best ways to ensure that the clinics you are considering are reputable and trustworthy is to read reviews from patients who have used their services. The Internet offers a wide range of platforms for people to share reviews and opinions about weight loss clinics they have tried. Form social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter to message boards and community sharing sites, there are many resources for you to choose from. Try to find out if there are any negative reviews about the clinics you are considering, and be sure to check the Better Business Bureau's website to see if the clinic has a high rating. You may also be able to contact the potential clinics and ask them for a list of patient references so that you can speak candidly with other people about how effectively the clinic helped them reach their weight loss goals.

Physical therapy is a division of healthcare aimed at helping people to improve their mobility, functionality, and quality of life when they are dealing with a disability, injury, or other type of health condition. Physical therapy can focus on a variety of aspects of the body and its behaviors, from helping to increase strength and flexibility to helping someone re-learn how to tie their shoes or hold eating utensils.
Physical Therapy for the Spine
Physical therapy for spinal conditions is one common type of treatment that people may undergo for a variety of reasons. If someone has undergone spine surgery and needs assistance rehabilitating, physical therapy will likely be recommended. Chronic spine conditions like sciatica or spinal stenosis may also respond to physical therapy. In these cases, the physical therapist will likely show patients how to adapt their body mechanics so as to reduce pain. Strengthening the body's core muscles may also be a facet of spinal rehabilitation, since a strong center can help to take stress off of the spine.
Back Exercises for Spine Pain
If a patient is undergoing physical therapy for a chronic spine condition, he or she will likely visit a physical therapist on a regular basis. This could be once each day, once a week, or once every two weeks. Regardless of a patient's physical therapy schedule, however, much of the rehabilitative work will need to be performed by the patient at home. The physical therapist will likely prescribe a variety of exercises for the patient to perform on a daily basis.
Some examples of exercises include:
• Pelvic tilt – Lie on your back with your knees bent. Keep your feet flat on the floor with your arms resting comfortably at your sides. Focus on keeping your back on the floor while slowly tightening your abdominal muscles and raising your pelvis up slightly. Hold this position for 10 seconds. Repeat five times.
• Piriformis stretch – Lie on your back and bend one knee. Cross the other leg over the bent leg, with the ankle resting on the thigh of the bent leg. Lace both hands behind the thigh of the lower leg and gently pull this leg toward your chest. You should feel a gentle stretch in your buttocks and lower back. Repeat on the opposite side.
• Hamstring floor stretch – Lie on your back with your knees bent and your feet flat on the floor. Place your hands behind your right thigh and raise your leg slowly off the floor. Straighten the leg gradually until you feel a slight stretch in the back of your leg and try to hold this position for 20-30 seconds. Repeat with the other leg.
• Abdominal contractions – Lie on your back with your knees bent. Your lower back should be flat against the floor and your hands should be resting comfortably just below your rib cage. Slowly tighten your abdominal muscles until you feel your ribs pushing downward into your lower back. Don't forget to breathe regularly as you do this. Repeat 10 times.
Combining Physical Therapy with Other Treatments
It is important to stay in close communication with your physical therapist as you perform rehabilitation exercises at home. If any of the exercises cause you severe pain, stop immediately and notify your physical therapist. You should also be aware of your physical limits as you undergo this type of therapy. While you may experience some degree of discomfort as you stretch and strengthen your body, you should never experience unbearable pain, numbness, or shortness of breath. Don't be afraid to tell your physical therapist if you feel you have reached your physical limit. In the event that back pain is hindering your ability to perform your physical therapy exercises, talk to your doctor about additional treatments such as pain medication, bracing, pain relief injections, or hot/cold compresses.

Choosing a career in healthcare can be a rewarding, fulfilling profession for many individuals. While it involves hard work, diligence, and lots of patience, you can go home at the end of the day knowing that you have assisted someone in need and contributed to improving the health of others. There are a variety of careers for you to choose from when considering a healthcare profession. From becoming a doctor to managing medical coding and insurance claims, there are positions in the healthcare industry for virtually anyone with any type of skill set. If you know that you want to work directly with patients in a clinical setting, but aren't sure that you want the responsibility of being a doctor, becoming a physician assistant may be something for you to consider.
What Is a Physician Assistant?
A physician assistant, or PA, has a great deal of responsibility. While a PA will be under the supervision of a doctor, the PA will likely see patients on his or her own, prescribe medications, and take on a number of the duties and tasks that a doctor would normally perform. A PA will conduct physical exams, order imaging scans like X-rays, MRIs, and CT scans, make diagnoses, and counsel patients about treatment options and the prevention of illnesses and injuries. PAs may work in hospitals, clinics, surgery centers, mental health facilities, or a variety of other healthcare institutions. PAs can also become specialized in certain fields of healthcare, such as dermatology, pediatrics, and emergency medicine.
Education Required
Education and training are required to become a physician assistant. A PA will generally have a bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year institution, and will then go on to complete a two-year master's physician assistant program. This two-year program will include training in a clinical setting so that the student can get hands-on experience before entering the workplace. Coursework will include subjects like biochemistry, anatomy, and physiology.
Benefits of Being a PA
One of the main advantages of becoming a PA, as opposed to becoming a doctor, is that PAs are able to work closely with patients and perform a number of the duties that doctors perform, but without having to undergo eight years of school. PAs also have the freedom and flexibility to work in a variety of healthcare settings, from a large hospital to a small private practice. Another advantage is that, because PAs work under the surveillance of a supervising physician, malpractice insurance isn't required. In general, PAs have to deal with less administrative rigmarole than both doctors and nurses.
Qualities that Make a Good Physician Assistant
There are a variety of qualities that make someone an ideal candidate to be a physician assistant. The person obviously needs to have a compassionate nature and want to help people who are ill. Since healthcare institutions can often be busy and hectic, the ideal candidate should also be patient and able to work well under stress and pressure. Having critical-thinking and problem-solving skills are pluses, as the PA will often need to make decisions regarding diagnoses and treatments on their own, without the consultation of a physician. PAs should also be committed to the concept of continuing their education throughout their careers. Whether it is getting additional certifications in different specialties or simply learning how they can improve their bedside manner when dealing with patients, the learning process of a healthcare professional is never truly over. The industry is always changing, treatment options change, and no two patients are exactly alike, so having the ability to adapt, learn, and be open minded is imperative.

You and your doctor must work as a team. To ensure that you receive the best possible healthcare, it is important to assume an active role and be an engaged patient. One way to do so is to take full advantage of every office visit. Time with your physician is valuable, so in addition to listening carefully to his or her advice, be sure to ask questions, discuss any new symptoms or problems, and share your concerns.
Before Your Appointment
For most people, going to the doctor is at least mildly stressful. The added pressure of being sick or in pain will only compound the anxiety you may already be feeling. Nervousness can get in the way of clear thinking and careful listening, so be sure to bring along a notepad and pen to record your doctor's instructions and take notes you can review later, when you are feeling less stressed. If you think it would be useful, ask a trusted family member or friend to accompany you and serve as an "extra set of ears," perhaps ask questions you may not think of, and offer advice and opinions, if needed.
Preparation can be a powerful stress-reliever, so you may find it helpful to think of your visit in terms of a business meeting for which you need to prepare. Before the appointment, make a list of all the medications you are currently taking, including prescription drugs, over-the-counter medications, herbal supplements, and other natural remedies. Create a synopsis of your and your family's health history, including information about past surgeries, illnesses, allergies, and other medical conditions. Bring this information with you to the appointment.
Finally, you'll want to be fully prepared to discuss your present condition and symptoms – in order of importance, because your time with your doctor will be limited – and any other healthcare you are currently receiving. The usefulness of lists and notes cannot be overemphasized!
During Your Appointment
When you are face-to-face with your doctor, clearly explain the reason for your visit, your current condition and symptoms, and any changes you may have recently noticed. If you don't understand something he or she tells you, don't be afraid to request further explanation. Also, ask for written directions, brochures, and websites to supplement the information your doctor provides verbally. If you have any concerns about your ability to follow your doctor's instructions, be sure to let him or her know.
If your physician suggests a treatment, inquire about your options, and ask why he or she is recommending this particular treatment for you. If you need a test, ask where it will be performed, what will be done, how you will feel during the test and afterward, what you need to do to prepare, and when and how you will get your results. If your doctor prescribes a new medication, request the spelling and ask why you need it, how and when you should take it, if there are any side effects, what to do if you experience side effects, and when you can stop taking the medication. Also, be sure to tell him or her if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or nursing.
After Your Appointment
Before you leave the office, find out whether you need to schedule a follow-up appointment. Follow your doctor's instructions to keep your health on track. If, after you return home, you feel confused about something the doctor said or do not understand your next steps, call the office right away to request clarification. You should also call if your symptoms worsen, if you experience side effects from medication, or to request test results.
By taking these steps prior to a medical appointment, you can make the most of your time with your healthcare practitioners. A good doctor-patient relationship is vital to your health and well-being. As an active member of your healthcare team, you will improve the quality, safety, and effectiveness of your care.

To most patients, medical jargon can sound like a foreign language. For this reason, open communication between the doctor and patient is essential to the patient's understanding of their situation. Misunderstandings from either side can result in mistakes that hurt a patient's physical or mental health. Doctors and patients, then, have a common responsibility to make sure they communicate and understand one another as clearly as possible. By following a few simple steps, doctors and patients can strengthen their relationship and ensure that important information is communicated in an effective manner.
Make Eye Contact and Practice Active Listening
For patients, practicing active listening and asking thoughtful, open-ended questions are two of the most effective ways they can communicate with their doctor. Too often, patients allow important information or advice slip by without asking necessary questions. It may be intimidating or embarrassing to ask questions, but the reality is that a doctor may be able to explain something in a slightly different manner that opens up insights for the patient's understanding. If patients have strong eye contact and are willing to ask questions, it shows the doctor that they care about their treatment, which in turn, allows the doctor to invest more into the relationship.
From the doctor's point of view, they need to be sure they are always keeping strong eye contact with the patient to increase non-verbal communication. While the doctor may not even know it, looking a patient in the eye while explaining a diagnosis or treatment plan actually emits non-verbal cues that show their patient they care. By responding to patient questions with thoughtful, easy-to-understand answers, communication becomes stronger and the patient knows they are being cared for with the utmost attention.
Use Technology Wisely
Technological advances have done wonders for the medical fields, and many modern operations could not exist without some of the innovative advances in medical technology. However, there are both effective and ineffective ways to use technology when communicating with a patient. Mobile technologies like iPads or laptops are excellent for showing a patient a diagram or chart. Visual information can often say more than words, and may actually be a stronger way to communicate a concept that is difficult to put into plain terms. However, reading off of an iPad or electronic device while giving a patient a treatment plan may come off as cold or distant, so the doctor needs to make sure he or she combines the screen time with true, one-on-one conversation with the patient.
Likewise, patients need to put away their electronic devices when having a conversation with their doctor. Unless they are using their tablet or mobile device to take notes, their full attention should be on the doctor and the information the doctor is communicating. While keeping in touch with friends and family is certainly important to a patient's recovery, those conversations aren't nearly as vital as the ones with their doctor.
There's a Time and a Place
As we all know, conversations in a hospital room or doctor's office may bring bad news. Sometimes, silence can be the best form of communication, so neither the doctor nor the patient should feel like they need to say something when bad news is broken. Rather, let the moment of emotion pass and the patient gather themselves. Once the patient is in the right frame of mind to clearly communicate, then the doctor can offer possible treatments or explain their next step. The patient, too, will be able to ask the important questions that are on his or her mind without being distracted by an onslaught of emotion.
For occasions when the doctor doesn't have to break bad news, they should still be aware of a patient's condition before trying to communicate. When a patient is in a lot of pain, it can be very difficult to stay focused on a conversation. So, it's important for the patient to be forthcoming with their current condition and inform the doctor if they don't feel capable of effectively communicating. Sometimes all it takes is a fifteen minute rest for the patient to feel better and begin a strong dialogue with their doctor.

Migraines can be detrimental to all aspects of your life. If you have a pulsing headache, it can affect your productivity at work, your responsibilities as a parent, or your ability to relax during your time off. While chronic migraines may be the result of a serious medical condition, some migraines can be avoided by slightly altering your lifestyle. Taking a Tylenol or Aspirin may provide momentary relief for a migraine, but most of the time there are deeper issues at work that are causing your headaches. Small adjustments in your diet or in your daily routine can drastically reduce the amount of migraines you have and can improve your overall well-being.
Make Sure You Have a Balanced, Healthy Diet
While everyone's body is different, there are some general guidelines you can follow that will improve your body's balance of nutrients. For most people, a balanced diet of quality proteins, carbohydrates, fruits, and vegetables is necessary for their bodies to function at a maximum level of performance. However, even if you have a fully balanced diet, there are still certain foods that will increase your susceptibility to migraines. These trigger foods include:
• Caffeinated beverages
• Alcoholic drinks like beer and red wine
• Aged cheeses
• Chocolate
• Processed foods like chicken nuggets
• High sodium foods like yellow rice
Specific ingredients found in your diet can also trigger a migraine after just one drink or bite. Aspartame, a common ingredient in diet soft drinks, has been proven to cause migraines, even in extremely small doses. Monosodium glutamate, or Msg, is often found in Asian dishes and can also quickly trigger a migraine.
Staying hydrated and eating healthy are the best ways to ensure your migraines aren't a direct result from your diet. You may even try directly targeting specific foods that contain high amounts of vitamin B, like kale, spinach, eggs, and yogurt that have been proven to prevent migraines.
Practice Stress Relief
Tension headaches and migraines can be some of the most difficult medical ailments to relieve. If you carry a lot of stress in your neck and shoulders, the muscles in those areas can tighten, causing muscular tension to pull on the back of your skull. Tension headaches can be intense and highly recurrent. The most frustrating part about tension headaches is that people who suffer from them may otherwise be living totally healthy lifestyles.
The best stress relief you can practice is some sort of relaxation technique like meditation or controlled breathing. Taking a few minutes out of your daily routine to sit down, close your eyes, and organize your thoughts can help you stay relaxed and may drastically improve your attitude for the rest of the day. Controlled breathing exercises allow your mind to solely focus on one thing, rather than on the piles of unfinished work on your desk or the list of chores you need to do when you get home. By taking time to center your thoughts and focus your mind, you can relieve stress and increase your productivity.
Exercise, Stretch, and Get Some Sleep
Keeping your body physically stimulated on a regular basis can balance out your hormones and allow your mind some much needed rest. That doesn't mean, though, that you have to be a hero in the gym every day of the week. Sometimes a little physical activity as simple as taking the dog out for a walk or doing some work in the garden can get your blood flowing and allow your mind to focus on a simple task.
If you do practice daily exercise, it's extremely important that you stretch before and after every workout. Muscles that aren't stretched may have lactic acid build up which can cause cramps, soreness, and muscular knots, all of which leads to tension and stress. By stretching out your muscles you are relieving the tension and relaxing your body. The ultimate way to relax, however, is to get some sleep. Try adhering to a regular schedule of around eight hours per night in order to wake up refreshed and ready for the day.

Whether you're trying to drastically change your lifestyle, or you're just looking to lose a couple of added holiday pounds, weight loss can be a difficult and frustrating process. With so many different weight loss plans and programs, even choosing your course of action for losing weight can be a frustrating experience. Crash diets or fad diets provide quick results, but usually result in long-term weight gain. Diet pills may trim away the pounds, but their ingredients like ephedra or the high doses of caffeine can actually cause irregular heartbeats and even heart attacks.
Losing weight the healthy, patient way seems to be the most effective, but can often times be discouraging or painfully slow. However, by considering alternative ideas for losing weight, you may find that getting healthier doesn't have to be such a drag. Improving your lifestyle is just as much mental as it is physical, so keeping your mind fresh can be a great way to start shredding pounds.
Throw Away Your Scale
Setting goals can certainly keep you motivated throughout the weight loss process, but sometimes getting caught up in the numbers game can weigh you down. Having a set-back can be extremely discouraging and may ruin your motivation. The big problem though, is that the number on the scale may not be a very good reflection of your overall weight loss or improvement in health. If you've been working out more frequently, your body is actually gaining muscle mass, which increases your weight. Also, since you've been exercising you're probably drinking more water and other fluids, which will increase your physical weight.
By throwing away your scale, you can pay closer attention to how your body looks and feels. You may notice muscles that you never had before, or that you are getting deeper, more refreshing sleep. When you change your lifestyle, both your mind and body respond in a positive way. By focusing less on how much you actually weigh and more on the improvements you see and feel, you'll be mentally encouraging yourself to keep on track with your physical regimen.
Add Foods, Don't Subtract
Many diet programs out there suggest that you eliminate carbohydrates entirely from your diet. Others suggest cutting away dairy or red meat. In reality, a wholesome and balanced diet is necessary for your body to perform at its highest level. By eliminating carbohydrates, you are actually depleting your body of natural sources of energy. If you remove milk, cheeses, and yogurt you're removing natural proteins that help your body rebuild muscle.
Rather than eliminating foods, begin expanding your diet in directions you've never considered before. In doing so, you'll discover foods that taste good and provide your body with the healthy nutrients it needs to keep up with your increased physical activity. Foods like eggplant and sweet potatoes are packed with fiber, potassium, and B vitamins and can be cooked in a variety of delicious ways. Lean meats like salmon and top sirloin are excellent sources of the protein you need to rebuild muscles after a good work-out. Adding foods to your diet can expand your taste buds and have you craving healthier meals.
Mind, Body, and Soul
Once you've improved your mental outlook on weight loss and physically improved your body with exercise and healthy foods, you need to take care of your soul as well. Stress can be just as much of an obstacle as the treadmill when it comes to losing weight and developing a healthier lifestyle. Concerns about your career, financial security, or familial responsibilities can weigh you down more than any other physical entity.
By soothing your soul you can clear away the negative energy and increase your productiveness. Relaxation techniques like controlled breathing, yoga, or religious prayer can help ease your soul of its worries and allow you to develop a more positive outlook on your life. Try taking up morning meditation or periodically stretching in the break room at work. Cleansing your soul is a significant and necessary step in improving your lifestyle and increasing your overall health.
