Dating back to before the Bronze Age, Peterborough is an area of fenlands, which are flat and some areas are even below sea level.
One of the most famous features of Peterborough is the cathedral. This was originally founded in 655 AD and the current building dates back almost 900 years. Fans of imposing gothic cathedrals won't be disappointed here! The cathedral boats three enormous arches that are architecturally unique.
The nightlife in Peterborough is varied and there are plenty of venues to visit whether you are looking for a quiet drink or would prefer to dance the night away. You may want to take the time to listen to local bands, who regularly play at the various venues in the city.
For a more cultural time, it would be worth coinciding your visit with events such as the CAMRA beer festival or the annually occurring East of England Show.
Or maybe you would prefer to take in a play at the Key Theatre, located on the bank of the river Nene. It features local and national productions as well as concerts and other entertainment.
As befits a multicultural city, there is a wide range of restaurants in Peterborough featuring the expected Chinese, Italian and Indian cuisines and, more recently, Polish and Japanese food as well.
The Posh (Peterborough United Football Club) play their games in a ground on the south bank of the river Nene. They have a reputation for upsetting the apple cart in a variety of football competitions and still hold the record for the highest number of league goals scored in one season.
The more leisurely sport of rowing is featured in regattas in both spring and summer and February sees a river race, once again on the river Nene.
The Great Eastern Run is a half marathon that takes place on the streets of the city and usually attracts around three thousand runners as well as plenty of spectators.
If ice hockey is your favourite sport then make sure to check out the Peterborough Phantoms in one of their Premier Ice Hockey League games.
Fans of motor sports are catered for in Peterborough at the East of England Showground, which regularly hosts speedway races.
One of the interesting archaeological sites in the area is Flag Fen. This is a Bronze Age site with a visitor centre to make sure that you can follow the site's history from then to modern times. There are also some interesting Iron Age roundhouse reconstructions that you can wander round.
Railway enthusiasts can check out the heritage Nene Valley Railway, which is currently being run by the Peterborough Railway Society.
If you enjoy visiting historic stately homes, be sure to go to Burghley House, just north of the city. The gardens were laid out by Capability Brown in the 1700's and the impressive looking house itself dates back to the reign of Queen Elizabeth I. If you saw the film "The Da Vinci Code", then you may well recognise it as one of the locations that were used.

Cash gifting postcard mailings can be one the most cost effective weapons in your advertising arsenal.
The best way to attract new prospects to your business opportunity is to diversify your approach in making contact with those new prospects. This holds true in any work at home, Cash Gifting, MLM, direct sales or internet opportunity that you advertise. Many people starting a home based business fail to grasp this simple truth and end up marketing their business opportunity in one way over and over again. Psychologist Abraham Maslow PHD (1908-1970) who penned The Hierarchy of Needs once said: "If the only tool you have is a hammer, you tend to see every problem as a nail." Today let's examine a tool that many work at home marketers have not given any thought to; the simple postcard.
The first rule of advertising is consistency. Webster's New World defines consistency as: "agreement with what has already been done or expressed; conformity with previous practice." It really doesn't matter what type of advertising you are doing if it is working for you, as long as it is done in a consistent manner. Adding another form or way of advertising only increases your opportunity to draw in new prospects.
A direct mail postcard is a great marketing tool that can be used very effectively for your cash gifting program. With the right mailing list of potential wealth builders you don't need a marketing budget the size of the federal deficient. Some direct mail companies will even add the names electronically when printing and then mail the postcard for you at the same time. Obviously, this requires payment upfront, but can save a good amount of time.
Four key elements to consider for direct mail postcards are:
Cost Effectiveness: Full color photo quality printing costs have become very reasonable in the past couple of years and mailing a postcard is a much lower cost than mailing a regular size envelope. At present it is about a 35% difference and postage seems to go up every couple of months. A postcard, no larger than a 4 X 6, will mail for 26 cents today and can hold a large amount of advertising, if laid out properly. The difference in cost, from a standard business letter sized envelope and a postcard can really mount up when mailing thousands of pieces of advertising. Remember that the printing quality can greatly enhance your response rate.
Readability: What happens to the standard piece of business or "junk mail" that you receive nearly every day? It ends up in the trash before it is ever opened and read. A postcard on the other hand, like a billboard, can be easily perused as soon as it is seen. With the proper message it will grab the new prospects attention and garner a little more respect than your average advertising, wrapped in an envelope.
Measurability: A postcard mailing campaign can be measured for effectiveness very easily. If you were to send out two thousand postcards and received one hundred responses to your mailing you would then have a five percent response rate. Simple math right? You could also take it to the next level and track the number of prospects who join your work at home opportunity.
Multiple Uses: Postcards can be used to announce any number of things. Such as a new website, a sale, expansion of your cash gifting program, an invitation to a seminar. You get the idea.
Adding postcard marketing to your advertising arsenal can generate an influx of new business for the new marketer as well as the seasoned veteran alike. Remember this simple and often underused marketing tool and you'll be on your way to generating new business and bringing eager new prospects to your home based business opportunity.

The Truth About Cash Gifting…Part 2
Hopefully you had a chance to read the first part of this article on Cash Gifting, as it exposes some of the reasons many Cash Gifting programs failed in the past. A solid Cash Gifting program, if it is to be a legitimate home based business alternative, must be simplistic in nature, without surprises, smoke and mirrors and incorporate a very effective and efficient business model.
With this in mind, let's take a look at a program and see if it meets the standards to become a viable income opportunity.
A Cash Gifting home based business model needs:
1) A simple to follow, time tested and proven, marketing system that anyone can follow. This will assist a new member in starting their work from home opportunity correctly.
2) A tracking system that allows a member to track the scheduled arrival of any gifts being sent to them.
3) A fully functional back office where all members can update personal information.
4) Tutorials on advertising with classifieds, ezines, banners, Pay Per Click, voice broadcasting etc. Along with access to prewritten ads that have been tested and proven to deliver results.
5) An area where the members can order advertising tools such as company approved custom business cards, postcards and flyers.
6) Members should also have access to autoresponders, lead generation and a follow up letter series to stay in contact with new prospects.
7) Above all, a step - step system that takes the new member through the process from sign up, to paperwork completion, to advertising… Right up to the point when they receive their cash gift at the door.
Now with all of the above components in place, an entrepreneur should be able to launch a home based business without investing a lot of effort in start up. In this type of ideal environment the majority of time can now be spent on developing the business, as the business infrastructure is already in place.
Every work at home business needs a strong foundation to be successful. With more and more people every day looking to make extra income in their free time, getting started "right" is the key element between success and failure. It really doesn't matter if you're looking to leave your JOB; working from home to spend more time with the kids; a Baby Boomer working toward retirement; or someone just looking to create the excitement of building his/hers own fortune, one thing remains true to all business, without a strong business model or foundation you set yourself up for failure. Author Henry David Thoreau said it very well, "If you have built castles in the air, your work need not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them."
Wishing you a multitude of success in whatever you do and remember that, "Destiny is not a matter of chance, it is a matter of choice; it is not a thing to be waited for, it is a thing to be achieved." (William Jennings Bryan 1860-1925, American Lawyer, Politician)

The Truth About Cash Gifting…Part 1
We've all heard about the next BIG home based business opportunity. You know, the one that will make you an instant millionaire and you won't have to do any work to get there. All you have to do is send in your money and the next thing you know in 30 to 60 days you will never have to go to the 9 to 5 ever again. Yes, and I have a parcel of land …
We also all know that marketing on the internet can be a risky business at best if we know nothing about the company or better yet some of the people that promote the company. More and more we all need to have our scam radar working overtime to decipher the real work at home opportunity from the Get Rich Quick scheme.
One of the best income opportunities ever offered is a "real" Cash Gifting program. Now with that said it must be brought to light that there is a difference in this type of program. Some cash programs in the past were just "pyramid schemes" dressed up for a night out on the town. So let's look at what it takes to make a real Cash Gifting program work for anyone that gets involved.
Cash Gifting can be defined as: The act of privately or publicly giving another person or entity a declared sum of cash, (as a gift) and giving it freely without coerce or consideration. Cash Gifting is in no way a loan or any type of payment for goods or services received. Now guess why it's called a cash gift… because that's exactly what it is.
Let's lay out a few of the reasons some of the Cash Gifting programs in the past have failed in a very short time:
1) The founders of some of these programs had no concept of how to set up a proper Cash Gifting program to assist the members with a working "business model". Any home based business or work at home opportunity needs a proper plan of operation to be a success, even a Cash Gifting program.
2) No tracking system was devised to keep all of the members abreast of what monies were coming their way or when to expect them.
3) There were no legal documents created nor provided to outline the transfers of cash gifts from one person to another.
4) In some instances there was no proven or tested marketing system provided for the members. Along with not providing tested marketing concepts, the members were set up to fail before they ever got started, unless they were seasoned veterans.
5) Without a way to track the members advertising efforts no one knew what, when, why or how their hard earned dollars were being spent and what in fact was their ROI. (Return On Investment)
So what did this all lead up to? In the past many Cash Gifting programs quickly got labeled as unethical and some were called pyramid schemes or even scams. Now, in most instances this was not true, but without a proper "business model", destiny prevailed. I'm sure a large number of us have received the "Send $5 to 5 people and you can make a kazillion dollars in the next 30 days" letter. That type of Cash Gifting letter is the perfect example of the old adage "one bad apple can spoil the whole bunch".
Stay tuned for part two of this series and more relevant information on Cash Gifting and other home based business opportunities.

*********************** ARTICLE START ***********************
Many renters are under the false impression that the insurance their renter has on the home is enough to cover any losses within it. These can losses can be a result of anything ranging from theft to fire or another catastrophe such as earthquake or tornado. However, the insurance that the landlord holds on the property is only for the structure itself and not for the contents within it. That is why it is very important for renters to acquire renters insurance to protect their belongings.
There are three kinds of coverage provided by renters insurance. These are:
Coverage of personal property
This coverage replaces personal property in instances in which it has been stolen, vandalized, damaged by fire, smoke, or windstorms, or damaged through leaks in the plumbing and even explosions. Some of the more expensive items such as furs, silver, and jewelry may not be covered by the insurance policy, so it is possible that additional insurance may need to be purchased in order to cover these items if the renter prefers to do so.
In order for the renter to determine how much insurance is enough, they should do an inventory of all belongings such as furniture, clothes, electronics, appliances, tools, kitchen utensils, sports equipment, and other items, and then total up the value of this property in order to determine how much money would need to be paid out if something were to happen to these items. This will determine how much coverage is needed and will also determine the amount of the premium that is paid monthly, quarterly, every six months, or yearly.
Coverage for additional living expenses
This second type of renters insurance coverage pays for the renter to live elsewhere if the home is in a condition in which it cannot be lived in while it is being repaired after some sort of damage has occurred. This insurance covers the cost of the hotel or motel room, restaurant bills from having to eat out all of the time as a result of not being able to inhabit the home, and any other expenses that may occur as a result of the situation.
This coverage is usually equal to 30% to 50% of the amount of the policy. What this means is that if the coverage is $100,000, then the renter is covered up to $50,000 if the policy allows for the maximum of 50%. If not, then a minimum of $30,000 in living expenses are covered. This can actually pay the living expenses of the insured for quite some time.
Personal liability coverage
This is the coverage that can protect the insured from such unfortunate events as lawsuits. This insurance comes in handy if the renter is found to be liable for damaging someone's property or injuring someone and should cover the amount of all assets if the renter is sued. Most choose to get the $100,000 coverage in order to protect their belongings. Why is this important to the renter? Well, it is important to everyone since accidents do happen. An accident can occur on the property that is the renter's fault or can happen at any other location. It is good to have all assets and belongings protection in case such an event occurs.
So this is why it is important to have renters insurance. If the renter is robbed or some other unfortunate event occurs, it is great to have that coverage in place rather than be in the situation of having to start all over with their own cash. This can make living much easier when a disaster occurs.
About The Author: Just because you rent your home doesn't mean you shouldn't get insurance for your personal possessions. http://www.belairdirect.com/regionselect.html Renter's insurance is extremely important and can protect you and your valuables in any kind of catastrophe.

Article Title: How To Save Money On Your Teenager's Auto Insurance

It is an exciting time for a teenager when they legally sit behind the wheel of a car by themselves for the first time. It is sort of like a right of passing, a time in which adulthood seems a little more within reach, or even a time in which they realize they are getting a little more freedom. Whatever the thoughts of the teenager at that very moment, mom and dad have something else to contend with and that is the car insurance premium.
By this point the car insurance should already be taken care of, but now there are many payments to come. Aside from making the teenager get a job, the premium has to be paid somehow and oftentimes it is not what many would call "pretty." That is why it is a great idea to find out what ways can reduce a teenager's auto insurance policy so that mom and dad has one less worry on their plate when it comes to having a teenager behind the wheel of the car.
Fortunately, there are ways to reduce the cost of auto insurance for teenagers, which is certainly good news for parents. Since teenagers are considered inexperienced, that puts them on the list of high risk drivers, which is why their premiums are so high. So here are some ways, and some with the teenager's cooperation, that can reduce the cost of the auto insurance policy for a teenager:
• Raise the deductible: If the deductible is $500, then raise it to $2,000 or an amount that results in a comfortable payment. Just keep in mind that if an accident should occur, it is important that the deductible is one that can be paid.
• Good student discount: When students carry a certain grade in school, the insurance company will apply a good student discount. This does require bringing the teenager's report card to the insurance company each time it is received to ensure the discount can stay.
• Make the teenager the primary driver on an older vehicle, which is usually the cheapest vehicle. Insurance tends to be more expensive if the teenager is the primary driver on the most expensive car.
• Take a defensive driving course: If the student takes a driving course and provides proof that to the insurance company that they passed it, then the insurance company will apply a discount since that makes the teenager less of a risk behind the wheel.
• Buy the teenager a cheaper car: Sometimes it is feasible to buy a cheaper car for the teenager to use until they turn 18 or the age in which insurance premium will go down.
• Buy a car with a high safety rating: Safety rating has a lot to do with how much the premium is on a car. The lower the safety rating the higher the insurance. A car with a great safety rating will be cheaper.
• Be sure to shop around: Some companies are cheaper than others, so it is good to get insurance quotes from at least three insurance companies to see which one offers the best rates for teenagers.
Although teenagers tend to be more reckless behind the wheel of a car, that doesn't mean the insurance premiums have to reflect it. Also, not all teenagers are in car accidents, but the premiums are based on the probability due to inexperience. Needless to say, by implementing the above steps, a lower insurance premium can definitely be achieved and mom and dad can at least feel relieved about one aspect of the experience.
About The Author: Teenagers are expensive, and auto insurance is no exception. Follow these tips to save money on http://www.belairdirect.com/regionselect.html for your teenager.

We live in a world in which insurance of all types are necessary. We must have insurance for our homes to insure it and everything in it, insurance for our vehicles in case it is involved in an accident, renters insurance to insure the renter's belongings, health insurance to receive healthcare, and life insurance to pay burial costs and unpaid expenses upon our deaths. These are just some of the most common forms of insurance that most people do carry. There are, however, stranger forms of insurance, but they cannot be bundled together to save money like home insurance and auto insurance can.
When bundling home insurance and auto insurance together, this is commonly referred to as a multi-line discount or a multiple policy discount. Many of the major insurance companies encourage their policyholders to put all of their business in one place and will discount a second policy as an incentive to do so. Yet there are many people already carrying multiple policies with one company and are not aware that they can acquire a discount due to that fact. That could either be because the insurance agent opted not to tell the customer since all of the policies were already in one place or it was just a mere oversight. That is why it is important for consumers to know so that they may ask their insurance provider about a multi-line or multiple policy discount.
The discount that is offered by insurance companies is usually around 10% of the total cost of both policies. Sometimes it can be more depending on the insurance company. Although this may not seem like a large discount, it definitely does leave a little more money in the pocket. For example, a homeowner's insurance premium of $1,000 per year in addition to a life insurance policy that is $200 a year can result in a total savings of $120. Even if the policy is paid monthly, every three months, or every six months, the amount saved will total the $120 per year. That is money that can be used on another expense or put in the bank for savings.
Bundling homeowners and auto insurance is obviously a great way to cut down premiums. Some ask if it is truly a way to cut insurance costs when there are so many different companies on the market offering such low rates. One thing to look at regarding many of these companies is that they may specialize in one type of insurance instead of multiple types of insurance that can be bundled together. If a customer were to go ahead and buy the cheaper auto insurance policy and continue with their homeowners policy at another insurance agency, they may be paying more than if they had gone ahead and bundled the policies with their existing company. On the other hand, with the discount at the existing insurance company, the cost could be the same, but everything would be in one place.
However, there are companies that may offer two different types of insurance, but these usually come in the form of health insurance and life insurance that cannot be reduced, especially the health insurance. That is why it is a good idea to go with a company that offers both homeowners insurance and auto insurance to bundle those two types of insurance together since they are quite easy to put together in order to reduce premiums. It is also considerably convenient to have everything in one place and pay everything on one bill because no one ever complains about paying fewer bills.
About The Author: Bundling your auto and http://www.belairdirect.com/regionselect.html home insurance can save you a lot of time and money. It gives you one less bill to pay, and, often insurance companies will give you a discount for the bundled policy.

Many of us live where we live because we were either raised there or we landed there somehow and are happy with where we are at. Sometimes someone may not have control over where they live for occupational reasons. Whatever the reason why you live where you do, that fact can actually have an influence on how much you pay for your auto insurance. Does this mean you should move to pay lower premiums? Well, not unless you want to. But it is important to know how where you live affects your auto insurance rates.
First of all, the safety of your neighborhood is something that the insurance company takes into consideration. If there is a high incidence of vandalism and car theft in the area in which you live, you'll pay more in car insurance premiums than someone who lives in a peaceful neighborhood. This is one way in which people lose money in car insurance because of the fact their neighborhood is considered a risky one. However, how risky a neighborhood is can be rather difficult for the residents to control. Even when a neighborhood is "reformed" and made safer, it may take a while before the insurance company can deem that neighborhood one of lower risk.
How the insurance company knows that the area you live in is high risk or not is that the insurance company actually maps out which areas are high risk, medium risk, and low risk. There are even areas that are considered to have no risk at all. And we all know that when something is mapped out that it is going to have boundaries. That is when someone may find out that their neighbor is paying a considerable amount less in car insurance because they may live on the other side of the boundary. Going to the insurance company and bringing this to their attention doesn't do any good for the fact that they cannot move the boundary. If they do, then other neighbors would be requesting the same treatment and the boundary would move until that risk area would be non-existent. That would completely eliminate the need for the mapping and the insurance company would actually lose money by offering the same rates to everyone, which in turn would raise premiums anyway.
Another way in which how you live has an influence on your car insurance is how far you have to drive from home to work. The number of miles that you drive each day has an influence on your risk factor. Someone who drives 5 miles to work each day is at a lesser risk of being in an accident than someone who drives 25 miles to work each day; therefore the person driving 25 miles to work is going to have to pay a higher premium than the person driving 5 miles to work. It works just the same for the person driving 50 miles to work that is going to have to pay more in insurance than the person driving 25 miles.
Basically, what it comes down to is risk factor and that is why it is important to shop around for insurance companies to see which might offer a lower rate for a specific area. Certain insurance companies may map areas differently depending on what their definition of a high risk area is and that can have a considerable influence on the amount of money paid in car insurance. Shopping around for the best rates can alleviate the desire to move to a low risk or no risk area.

*********************** ARTICLE START ***********************
When driving your car in snowy or any kind of wet weather, it is important to know what needs to be done in order to avoid going into a spin, which causes you to completely lose control of the vehicle. Cars have more trouble in inclement weather, and it sometimes seems that they weren't meant for snowy weather at all! In fact, it is always recommended that people do not drive in blizzard conditions because of this well-known fact. However, there are those who cannot avoid driving in the snow or any inclement weather due to work or other extenuating circumstances. Then again, cars can spin in the rain as well.
Practice Makes Perfect
It isn't common practice to recommend driving in conditions such as the snow, but if there is a parking lot nearby with no cars present, it is a good idea to practice driving in snowy conditions if it is something you know you cannot avoid. It is important to know how to steer in snowy conditions, how to brake when the roads are slippery, and what to do just in case you ever go into a spin. If you do spin in the empty parking lot, everything should be okay. However, the idea behind practicing is to not go into a spin, and not do any damage to your car so you need a car repair.
Braking
When braking in bad weather conditions, how you brake depends on the type of vehicle you are driving. If driving a truck, you have to step on the brakes a lot harder than in a car. In cars, you should only have to tap on the brakes gently to avoid sliding or spinning. Spins cause accidents, which might leave you in need of a car repair. In a responsible way (not doing doughnuts in the parking lot), you can practice working your way out of a dangerous skid that can lead to a dangerous spin. This will also come in handy if you ever skid in rainy conditions as well. Through practice, you become more familiar with how your car reacts to slippery conditions and you also become familiar with how to work your way out of skids and spins.
On the Road
A great way to avoid a dangerous spin is to keep an eye on the car in front of you and not follow too closely. You may be calm, but there are other people who tend to panic when road conditions are not safe. If you notice that someone is not driving safely, maneuver around them if possible. If it seems that it will be too dangerous to maneuver around them, follow far behind them so that in case they lose control, you have plenty of time to safely brake. Braking too hard can cause you to spin.
In instances where black ice may be present, drive safely. Anytime that it is below freezing outside, the chance for black ice exists whether there has been precipitation or not. You never know when someone might throw a McDonald's cup out their car window and a puddle of soda has frozen on the road. If you do feel the car skid, simply let up off of the gas and under no circumstances hit the brakes. If you do need to hit the brakes, make sure you pump the brake lightly, instead of slamming down on it with your foot. This will help prevent a skid and keep your brakes from locking. This applies to all road conditions. If you are in a skid, steer in the direction of the skid. Steering the opposite direction can make the situation even worse by risking turnover.
Practicing in snowy conditions in an empty parking lot can certainly allow you to know your car better. It also prepares you for slippery road conditions of all types during any time of the year. However, it is in the snow that most spinning accidents occur, so it is important to stay very aware of the conditions and of those driving around you in order to be as safe as possible.
About The Author: Driving in inclement weather can be a dangerous prospect. It's important to practice safe driving habits before an accident occurs, so that you can prevent having to pay for a car repair. http://www.caaneo.on.ca

Christmas isn't too far behind us and when you think about how quickly a year goes by, it is fair to say that it isn't too far ahead of us either. However, many of us are still hanging on to those gift cards we received, waiting for the right opportunity to spend them and figure out how to spend them. Chances are you received store-specific gift cards to your favorite music or movie store, which means you can spend them only on the items within that store.
Nevertheless, more people are buying universal gift cards (usually issued by Visa, MasterCard, and American Express) at department stores and malls to allow the gift recipient to spend their gift card wherever they would like. When you've got the store-specific cards to buy clothes and other specialty items, you can take your universal gift card and spend it on whatever you like. This gives you the chance to go to the mall and shop at multiple stores. You can tote around your shopping bags like you own the place. However, you can't forget about the music and DVD store. Two of the most common items that universal gift cards are used to purchase are CDs and DVDs.
Instead of spending three days trying to illegally download a movie off of the internet, you can simply take your gift card and buy the real thing. The same goes for CDs. With the enforcement of piracy laws, more and more people are getting in trouble for downloading movies and music off the internet, so to avoid hefty fines and embarrassment; it is a good idea to take that gift card and buy the music and the movies that you want.
Also, buying movies and DVDs rather than downloading them reduces the chances that your computer will contract a virus as a result of the download. At one time, contracting viruses from downloads was not really a concern, but it was just a matter of time. But by using your Christmas gift card to buy your CDs and DVDs, you are protecting yourself by not getting caught for illegally downloading movies and music, and you are not putting your computer at risk. Both of these can be very costly, and all for the chance to acquire a movie for free.
Open yourself up to new entertainment possibilities. Buy a movie you always wanted to see or buy the CD of that artist you thought sounded great on the radio. Of course there are other items you can purchase with your Christmas gift card. No one can tell you how to spend it, but there are so many possibilities that exist when it comes to CDs and DVDs that there is always something that everyone likes because there's plenty to choose from..
Just be sure to spend the gift card on yourself. So many people decide that they don't want to purchase something that they can use and they will buy an item for their significant other, their parents, or a friend. The gift card was given to you as a gift to buy what you want. It wasn't given to you to buy what someone else wants. You want that CD, all you have to do is buy it. If you want that DVD, go for it. No one can tell you how to spend your gift card.
So go into the clothing stores, buy a new outfit with your store-specific card. Go to your favorite bath and body store for some new scents, and then head over to your favorite entertainment store to get the CD or a DVD. Have a little fun.
About The Author: January is always a depressing month after the excitement of Christmas. Why not use one of the gift cards you received to buy a CD or a DVD http://www.hmv.ca to cheer yourself up.

Yes, folks, that's right, playing basketball can actually make your kids smarter. No need for long study sessions, expensive tutors or academic camps. Just send them out to the court and worry no more.
When they play basketball, kids learn teamwork. They learn to collaborate on a goal, and how to play their part. This makes them smarter. They will then be able to go to school and organize a cooperative group that will come up with the best Native American project that ever was. Knowing how to work together, able to appreciate the aspects of give and take that is present on the basketball court allows them to work well with the other kids in their classes.
Playing basketball improves a kid's hand-eye coordination. This in turn stimulates the brain, causing it to work harder and to thus work better. Improved skills of any kind lead to greater brain power, and thus your child will be smarter.
Being able to assess what's going on around him or her on the court will help them make similar judgments in life. Paying attention to the other guy and knowing how to respond is another skill that, once mastered, will make your child smarter. If they can compare themselves to others, to analyze what the other kids are doing and to improve on that in their own lives, your kids will be smarter. They'll be savvy and more able to think on their feet.
No kid likes to be told what to do, but a kid who can listen to a coach's guidance will be more able to learn from others. Hearing what the coach has to say and being able to follow his or her suggestions makes your kids more open to constructive criticism, a must if one is to improve oneself. Being able to learn from the guidance of someone else is a huge benefit. This really helps a kid get smarter – they're more willing to learn from someone else like a teacher, parent, or even older sibling.
Practicing the sport of basketball, if applied to other aspects of your child's life can help make them smarter as well. Not having a problem with practicing on the court will most mean that they'll be more amenable to practicing other things like piano lessons or spelling words. While no one likes to practice all the time, smart people know that it's the only way to improve. We can't all be experts the first time we try something, and learning this while on the court makes our kids smarter. Eventually they'll figure out that they have to practice in other areas of their lives in order to improve and succeed.
In short, playing basketball can make your kid smarter. Practice, listening to the coach, paying attention to what others are doing, and playing on a team will help your kid increase his or her brain power. It's a given.

Abdominal bloating, when the abdomen distends and there may be intestinal or abdominal gas, is the cardinal sign of dysfunction of the agni, the digestive fire, and is usually caused by a vata imbalance. In Ayurveda we describe it as the first sign of an imbalance in the "gastrointestinal consciousness." Bloating occurs when the gastrointestinal tract is unable to split food into the smallest particles and release the nourishing enzymes into the system. Also see Indigestion. Follow the appropriate Daily Lifestyle Regimen for your dosha, paying particular attention to your diet and eating
Rocking and Rolling: Sit on the floor and pull both legs up to your chest; interlock your hands over your knees. Roll your body backward and forward, ten times in each direction, keeping your elbows close to your legs.
Eat a light diet of primarily vegetables and rice, or kicharee; the Ten-Day Ginger Treatment recommended. There are several yoga movements that release wind and gases from the body, including toe bending, ankle bending, ankle rotation, hand clenching, wrist bending, leg rotations, and the posture known as Rocking and Rolling.
HERBAL REMEDIES
• Triphala treats the entire digestive tract. Take 1/2 teaspoon triphala mixed with 1/2 cup warm water every evening at bedtime. buy Hingwastak Tablets Banyan Botanicals Take two before each meal until feel bloating relieved.
FIVE-SENSES THERAPIES
• Taste: Emphasize sweet, sour, bitter, and salty foods, spices, and herbs. Consuming the winter churna with a little salt and lemon flakes is an easy way to get all these tastes in the appropriate proportions.
• Smell: Use warm, sweet, and sour essential-oil aromas, such as rose, cloves, cinnamon, basil, and orange.
• Sight: Green and blue are recommended to relieve bloating.
• Hearing: Listen to the midmorning classical music.
Touch: rub the belly clockwise with warm vata oil. Five minutes daily. This is not in place of medical advice. This is ayurveda approach only. also, for severe bloating get Hingvastak powder, Take a tablespoon and mix with warm water and make medium thick paste and apply to stomach for thirty minutes then wash off. This has given my worse patients relief.

*********************** ARTICLE START ***********************
Success on the court, for me, has translated to success in life. There are 5 components of a good experience on the basketball court, and I've found that they have a place in my business and personal life as well. They are:
1. Play With the Team
2. Be Aware of what the Other Team is Doing
3. Listen to the Coach
4. Practice
5. Keep Your Eyes on the Prize
Play With the Team
Whether you're a member of a team or the leader, working well with those around you will ensure success. Letting each member of the team perform his or her duties well help make the overall goal attainable. When each person is able to contribute, the final product will be a success. Don't try to do it all yourself, rely on your team and be there for them to rely on as well.
Be Aware of What the Other Team is Doing
No good center worth their salt ignores the other team. If you don't know where they are, you cannot adequately complete your play. This applies to life as well. If you make and sell sneakers, it's only natural that you should know what your competition is up to. If you want to have the best landscaped yard in the neighborhood, you need to know what the Joneses are up to. If your idea of a great yard includes rose bushes of which you have 10, your neighbor who has 15 has just outdone you. Can you keep up? Not if you don't know what the other guy is up to.
Listen to the Coach
Your coach may be your boss, group leader or even an older family member. Chances are if he or she is in one of these roles, they know what they're talking about. Don't be afraid to solicit and take advice where you need it. And if it's unsolicited, don't bristle – you may not be able to see what they see. It's their job to watch out for you and to help you grow; they're not in it to tear you down but to build you up. You can learn from their experiences and would be foolish to not take advantage of the knowledge they have to offer.
Practice
To get better at anything, you have to practice. Not just once, but lots of times. If you're in sales, you need to practice your spiel. If you're a musician, you've got to know your part and study the sheet music. You can't sight read every time you take the stage; you need to play well, or you won't be called back. If you're looking for success on a sports team, you've got to practice together. If you're trying to master a new skill, you've got to practice, there's just no way around it!
Eyes on the Prize
Finally, keep your eyes on the prize. Professionals are in it for the championship. They've got a goal and they stick to it. In order to achieve your own successes, you must keep your eye on the goal and stick to it until you've gotten there. Keep at it, you can do it!

These days everyone is looking for a deal when planning a vacation. With the cost of going on holidays these days who can blame them. Some resorts can often cost up to $300 or $400 per night, and that is if you can even get a reservation. Many of the best resorts are sold out a half year in advance. Others keep their best rooms and suites exclusively for timeshare holders or owners.
So what does that mean for the average traveler? Generally they are restricted to the all inclusive package deals that keep them two to a room in a modest hotel. There is nothing wrong with that. For many travelers this is all they need. However, for a family of four or more this style of accommodation is just not enough. Often families are forced to book two rooms; one for the kids and another for the parents.
This type of vacation accommodation often leaves families separated for a large portion of their vacation. There is a planned activity for a portion of the day followed by the teenagers going off to pursue their own activities and retiring to their own room.
Often a family that wants to lodge together has to rent a condo or a suite with two bedrooms. This is expensive with a week rental often costing a couple thousand dollars.
There is another benefit to renting a condo and that is having access to a kitchen. Let's face it, the cost of eating out while on holidays can be a lot. This can lessen that cost burden and give a chance for a family on holidays to sit together outside of a restaurant setting. After all that is the point of the holiday in the first place; to enjoy time together.
One option for a family that travels annually is to buy into a timeshare. This will allow them to spend time together, enjoy meals together and re-establish family bonds. Although the cost of a time share is generally out of reach for many families and if you choose not to travel one year you still end up paying the fees. Plus who wants to continually visit the same resort year after year.
A new and less expensive option is to buy a vacation membership. This will provide travelers with much more flexibility when choosing holiday destinations. However caution needs to be used when choosing a membership since not all are good value. Many limit the resorts available and times which you can visit. It is important for anyone considering a vacation
membership to do their research and make sure it will suit their travel needs.
There are many options available for a traveler seeking discount rates on their vacation. Time shares, travel vouchers, and hotel deals are all viable options but for those looking to have a lifetime of fantastic vacation deals them there is a specific vacation membership that needs to be considered.
About The Author: 5 Star Travel Group has over 5400 resorts in 79 countries plus no blackout dates and unlimited weeks per year. You can save over $1000 on your first vacation and pay for a lifetime membership after just two holidays. Visit http://5startravelgroup.com for more information.

Welcoming a new neighbor can be fun. You will have the chance to meet a new friend. You will also have the chance to make a great first impression through a wonderful housewarming gift.
Choosing a housewarming gift can be challenging. You are buying a gift for someone you barely know. Perhaps all you really do know about them is what you have seen through the course of them moving into their new home.
You may have an advantage if you knew the previous owners of the home. You will know how the home is setup and what the general style of the home is. This is something you can build from to choose a good gift.
However, if you are clueless you will need some help. You may want to just go meet them. Talk to them offer help in getting things moved in. Learn about them. Make friends and then offer the gift once they get settled in. This will allow you to learn about them and what they like and their style.
Here are some amazing tips to help you choose a housewarming gift that is anything but boring:
-Do not do the same old thing. A bottle of wine, a basket of cookies – these are nice gifts, but they are boring. Everyone does them. Your new neighbor will be gracious but also think that you really did not put a lot of thought into it. If you are insistent on doing the same old thing then do it with a twist. Be creative and try to make it stand out. Your new friend will surely remember that.
-Try giving a gift you know they need. If you happening to learn that their wine glasses were broken in the move then buy them a nice new set. Take anything that you may have learned about them when getting to know them and use it towards your gift idea.
-Don't overdo it. Sometimes in the rush of trying to think of the perfect gift it can be easy to go overboard. Try to keep things simple. You do not want to scare them off.
-Watch out for issues. Sometimes a gift that may be well meaning is not taken very well. You want to watch out for possible faux pas. For example, if they are Jewish you would not want to give them a platter of cheese and ham. Think about a gift before you give it and make sure that it is something universal that won't offend or somehow not work.
Choosing a housewarming gift is something that you should do with care. It is the first impression that these people will have of you. Living next door to someone requires that you get along on some level, so your housewarming gift is like an offering to be friendly. You want it to be memorable, as well so that they know you are really interested in them and do want to be friends.

Well, you've just spent an incredibly long week at work, shut inside your cubicle working on the quarterly report. You've had little time outside – basically the time it takes you to go from your house to the car to the office and back. By the end of the week you ate your lunch from the vending machine in the lounge rather than take the time to run out to visit your favorite hot dog vendor, just to get the work done. Now that you've finished and are ready for a much-needed and well-deserved weekend, you head home with nothing but relaxation on your mind.
Stepping into your apartment, you are greeted with a hungry cat (did you feed Speckles this week????), a basket of dirty laundry (the elves didn't pick it up?) and a dead houseplant. Not very inspiring.
Spruce It Up!
What to do? You've neither the desire nor cash to head out to the mountains for the weekend (packing, unpacking and then more laundry), but can't see spending a dreary two days with these uninspiring surroundings. It's easier than you think (and less expensive) to liven things up for yourself. Since you probably plan to eat this weekend and to do so must go to at least one store to get said food, take a look at what your friendly supermarket has to offer in respect to plants and flowers. Go ahead and buy yourself a bouquet. Get a big one that you can separate into smaller arrangements to spread throughout your home. Try again with the houseplants…pick out a few hardy looking ones and bring them back with you. Pick up a new watering can – just having something new to use can inspire you to actually use it. It's a lot more satisfying to water the plants with a groovy little watering can than with your coffee pot.
Once you've returned home with your new plants or flowers, open up! Even if it's hot or cold outside, it's a good idea to freshen up the place with some outside air. You may only be able to keep the windows open for a little while, but it will do you and your place a world of good. (Of course this wouldn't apply if you're currently in the midst of a dust storm, blizzard, hurricane, or plague of frogs…I would assume that if any of these things were happening you would not be looking to bring quite THAT much nature into your surroundings…)
If you've the benefit of a balcony, patio, or even a communal outdoor area where you live, take advantage of it. Get out there with a lawn chair and soak up some rays. You might discover that you have one or two interesting neighbors that are worth getting to know. One of them might even have some pointers for your houseplants. You could invite them over for a drink on those cool summer nights by your toasty chimenea; or you could plan a clean-up and planting day followed by a BBQ or a glass of wine or cup of coffee. You'll reap the benefits in more ways than one.

You enjoy entertaining your family and friends, but it can be pricey to have everyone assemble at your place. There is a way that you can entertain your nearest and dearest without breaking the bank...Here's how!
Make Your Own Party Foods
Instead of ordering a deli platter with cold meats and cheeses, make your own. Buy a variety of cold cuts and roll them up before putting them on a serving platter. Pick up a number of different types of cheese and cut them into interesting shapes.
You can do the same thing with a fruit or veggie tray. Buy the items and prepare them yourself. If you are not sure how to display them, stop by a store that offers these items to get some ideas.
Put a variety of rolls (bought in bulk) into a basket and let guests serve themselves. Add a salad, and you have a meal that everyone will enjoy. If you want to serve a hot meal, then choose a rice or pasta dish. These foods are delicious without being expensive.
Dessert doesn't have to be expensive to be delicious and elegant. Place a scoop of vanilla ice cream (a premium brand) into a beautiful dessert dish and serve it with cookies.
If You Serve Alcohol, Limit the Choices Available
Serving alcohol at your party will be more expensive than serving nonalcoholic beverages only. If you do decide to provide it, you can limit the choices to beer and wine only. Trying to provide several different types of hard liquor for your guests will put a dent in your pocketbook, that's for sure.
Start Entertaining After Dinner
If you invite your guests over after dinnertime, it will be a less expensive proposition. There is nothing wrong with inviting someone over to your home for coffee and dessert. If this is your choice, then do serve the best brand of coffee that you can afford.
Dessert, in this case, can be more elegant as well. You may want to consider one of the following suggestions:
• Black Forest Cake
• Cheesecake Topped with Fruit
• Carrot Cake
• Apple Pie
• Tiramisu
Another choice would be to offer your guests some fresh fruit salad, along with an assortment of cookies and squares.
Set up a table outside in your back yard or on your deck. Light some candles or start up your fire pit to create an intimate atmosphere for yourself and your guests. Visit a discount store to buy a tablecloth. If you don't own "good" china, no need to despair; go to a thrift store or a flea market to find interesting plates, cups, and saucers.
Your table may be more interesting to your guests if the place settings have complementary colors rather than each one being identical, so don't be afraid to mix and match a bit. Fresh flowers will brighten any table and give your party an air of elegance. Pick up a bouquet of bright, inexpensive blooms the day of the party or pick something from your own garden.
By planning carefully, your guests won't know that you only have a beer budget for your champagne party!

Article Title: Tulsi Tea - Enjoy the Health Benefits of a Daily Cup

*********************** ARTICLE START ***********************
Tulsi tea is one of the most favorite teas used in my office. Every week I have to replace my supply of it in my complimentary tea bar. One reason is because it just tastes good. Another reason is that I have been teaching my patients about its benefits. You get a great "pick me up feeling" from it and it does not have caffeine in it.
Ocimum sanctum, called Tulsi in India, is common in Hindu tradition. Also known as Holy Basil, it is the most revered of all household plants in India. Holy Basil is used as a healing herb and is considered the reincarnation of Visnu. Therefore, it is considered "sacred".
The latest research has shown that the most relevant benefit of Tulsi tea is that it protects from the effects of radiation. The recent events in Japan following the great earthquakes are still playing out. The radiation leakage has not been stopped, even now as I write this article on May 28, 2011.
Research on the effects of Tulsi tea also show that it improves a weak immune system, lowers cholesterol, decreases high blood pressure, increases lung health, aids in indigestion, and helps to balance blood sugar.
It is very important to note that folks with HIV can benefit greatly from having a daily cup of the tea. Also, although I do not endorse smoking anything, it is critical for smokers to have Tulsi tea as the research tells us that it helps regenerate tissue of lungs.
As previously mentioned, Tulsi tea is also known as Holy Basil. It is an easy plant to grow and very common in many households in India. Holy Basil comes in two forms - a green plant and a purple one. With purple stems is called Krishna Tulsi and the green form is called Rama Tulsi. It is said that in Indian folklore if you eat three leaves of fresh Holy Basil that you will prevent any diseases.
Tulsi is one of the most researched plants in ayurvedic pharmacology. It has been shown to have the highest amount of anti-oxidant value of all other researched ayurveda herbs. It is an erect sweet-scented pubescent herb, 30-100cm in height, growing in abundance near cultivated field gardens and wastelands. Its leaves, seeds, and whole plant are useful.
Tulsi offers a wide spectrum of health benefits even from just one cup of tea. The nutrients identified in it are calcium, vitamins A and C, zinc, iron and chlorophyll. It is ill advised to drink more than two cups of it per day. One is probably a better idea, as it is strong; definitely more is not better. It also has a heating effect so if you are hot or having hot flashes then Tulsi tea will not be good for you that day.
Tulsi is considered a rasayana in ayurvedic medicine. This means it is a herb that helps increase perfusion at the tissue level which helps nutrients to be absorbed into cells. Just as with hot peppers that have a hot taste, Tulsi has a taste that is sweet, pungent, and astringent and has a post digestive heating effect. It increases pitta, which is why if you are hot or tend to run hot then this is not the tea for you. This, however, does not apply in the case of a true fever as Tulsi is very helpful to reduce a fever. The procedure in reducing fevers is to take Tulsi with pepper. This induces sweating to help clear clogged channels and bring down the fever.
Tulsi is wonderful if you are breathless on simple exertion. Of course, it is always important to consult a doctor if you are breathless on exertion or are experiencing any serious or continuing breathing problems.
The following is a recipe used for the common cold, cough or sinus congestion.
Take 1/4 tsp. of ginger, 1/2 tsp. of Turmeric, and 1/2 tsp. of Tulsi. Boil these ingredients in one and half cups of water. Boil down to one cup. Do this two to three times a day.

Feet are so precious until you have a problem, you take them for granted. What do feet and the normal fat of the body got in common? What do feet and the adrenal glands have in common? These are mysterious questions to the average western mind. In the science of ayurveda the connection is clear. In this article I will answer those questions and point you to a treasure of practical daily information that will help you and your family be healthy and happy.Fat tissues is composed of cholesterol. The dreaded heart clogging sticky stuff. Fat tissues also has adipose, fat and lipid. This is the ayureda science is called Kapha. It is many places in the body. We are all familiar with fat of the belly, the backside, and of course those dreaded love bars.
And fat is under the skin as the fatty layer between the muscles. Fat is seen in the cheeks, and the breast. Fat is behind the eyeballs, and the biggest storehouse of fat in the body is the omentum.
If you look up adrenal glands in Wikipedia you will find mention to the " In mammals, the adrenal glands (also known as suprarenal glands) are the ... Abdominal Wall: The Retroperitoneal Fat and Suprarenal Glands"; Adrenal Gland, ...", The Ancient scientist were very accurate in their science as the modern medical scientist.
We find countless examples of this parrallel as we study the science of Ayurveda and modern medicine.
the fat is regulated by the adrenal glands. there are two types of fat, One is white and is the fat of that does the job of retaining the water in the body. This is kapha fat. The other is brown fat. This is the Pitta fat. This fat does the job of retaining heat in the body. Yes, you guessed if you have hot feet or hands you have an imbalance in your brown pitta fat. Fat is affected by the level of enzyme activity.
Too little enzymes not enough digestion. Sluggish metabolism affects all the tissues and it makes the fat tissue accumulate which in turn makes the white fat hold too much water and the brown fat hold too much heat.
If you have too much white or brown fat you may have also the following symptoms, too thirsty, edema, heavy feeling in the stomach, feel sleepy and heavy, emotionally agitated.
Of course weight gain can be a problem but don't have to be it could be also the opposite cannot gain weight. Are you a person who always has alot of tartar on the teeth?
Yes, this is a sign of a fat tissue imbalance. Burning hands and burning feet are cardinal signs of the fat tissue imbalance. Other bigger problems can eventually develop like hypertension, high cholesterol, obesity, anorexia, and heart attack.
A dry throat that the person is always clearing is a symptom that indicates later problems related to diabetes actually.
Obviously during these symptoms flare ups one must be very careful of their diet.
Stay away from sugar. Emotional stress because as I mentioned earlier fat tissue imbalance is a function of healthy adrenals you must be sure you are doing stress release practices. Salt, alcohol need to be very moderately used. Exercise, Exercise, Exercise no matter what you must exercise if you show any of these signs.
There are beautiful herbs that can be used to help these problems.
Some need to be prescribed by a qualified ayurvedic physician.
Others, like coriander, cumin and fennel can be used daily and made in your own kitchen.
Take one teaspoon of each . Take 4 cups of water . Cook the common spices and water down to two cups.
Drink these two cups daily. It will help tremendously. No Side effect.
These are common spices put in food in restaurants all over the world.
That is why I love Ayurveda it is so beautiful and simple. Also, for immediate relief of hot feet and hands apply coconut oil to feet and hands three times a day.I know this works as I have used it countless times with excellent results.

When we were bedridden and weak, thinking we were going to perish from fever, Grandma's recipe for chicken soup (or Campbell's soup in a pinch) is what nursed us back to health.
In India, however, the idea of food as medicine is as old as Methuselah. Tradition holds that there is no waiting until you get sick in order to get well. In the ancient Ayurvedic tradition, the aim is to keep your body and mind in constant balance -- to always be healing. Therefore, using food to fine-tune your body and spirit becomes an everyday affair.
With that in mind, practitioners of Ayurvedic healing have developed and passed down recipes that are not only simple -- but can also be customized to nurture your unique constitution.
No More Slaving Over the Stove to Eat Well
At the center of all this is a versatile staple called kicharee. Kicharee is the Hindi word for "mess" or "mixture." Some might call it a simple stew containing fiber, fat (ghee) and healthful spices.
Depending on your doshric makeup (vata, pitta, or kapha), kicharee can be dressed up, dressed down and flavored for maximum benefits. It is the base upon which a tasty and nourishing meal is created.
The beauty of kicharee is that, not only is it simple and quick to make, it can be tweaked according to your health needs and tastes.
At its most basic, kicharee contains rice, mung beans (a legume related to lentils), ghee (oil from butter) and spices. All of the ingredients are inexpensive and available in groceries and health food stores.
The Myth About Cooking Ghee
One thing that holds some people back from making kicharee is the preparation of ghee. People think it is complicated because we associate clarified butter with fancy French chefs. In fact, ghee is simple to prepare and lasts for months. You can make a batch once and have it on hand for a while. Ghee is nothing more than cooked down butter that has lost its liquid.
Patients who have treated a specific health condition by frequent consumption of the proper kicharee have discovered that it helped maintain -- and even improved their health.
If you would like to experiment with kicharee and see how it benefits your health and emotional well being, try this simple recipe below...
Kicharee Recipe From Dr. Helen's Guide to Ayurveda
Kicharee is a medicinal meal and was used traditionally to bring very sick people back to health. You may eat this special dish whenever you are recovering from an illness.
1/4 cup split mung dahl (yellow lentils)
1/2 cup basmati rice
2 tablespoons ghee or sunflower oil
1/4 teaspoon cumin seeds
3 bay leaves
1 teaspoon coriander
1 teaspoon oregano
1/2 teaspoon turmeric
4 to 6 cups water
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 stick kombu (a type of dried seaweed)
1 teaspoon fresh grated ginger
3 cups diced fresh vegetables such as carrots, zucchini, and summer squash
Instructions:
1. Wash the beans and rice until the water runs clear.
2. Warm the ghee in a medium saucepan; add the cumin, bay leaves, coriander, and oregano.
3. Brown slightly until their aroma is released. Stir in turmeric, rice, and dahl.
4. Add water, salt, kombu, and ginger. Simmer, covered, over medium heat for about 1 hour, or until the beans and rice are soft.
5. Add vegetables and cook 10 to 15 minutes more, or until tender.

*********************** ARTICLE START ***********************
Just this Tuesday, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) declared that healthy clones of cows, pigs and goats are safe for human consumption.
The whole purpose behind these cloning experiments is to improve the DNA of the animal. The ultimate goal: Healthier meat and dairy products. The realistic result: Who knows?
As Senator Barbara Mikulski put it in a written statement: "The FDA has acted recklessly and I am profoundly disappointed in their rush to approve cloned foods."
"Thorough" testing has included only 600 cloned animals. 570 of them are cattle. I guess 30 pigs and goats was enough of a trial run to deem them safe..
An Ayurvedic Perspective
Of course, in ancient times, cloning wasn't an issue. So there are no specific comments made on the science of cloning in the Ayurvedic text books.
On the other hand, Ayurveda is a live science, and alive today. We can apply that knowledge to determine whether something is wholesome for the human body.
As of Tuesday, we have these new, genetically modified meats and dairy products approved for the general public. These foods have undergone changes at a genetic level. That's a fact... or they wouldn't have bothered cloning them in the first place. They are trying to improve livestock so that it grows faster, tastes better, produces more milk... whatever.
(It's amusing and scary to note, that when passing these new life forms the FDA states that "there is no material difference between them and food produced by conventional methods." Hypocrisy! On the other side of this gold coin opportunity, they state that the cloned breeds are healthier and stronger. The same thing happened with GMO crops. It got passed by the FDA because it wasn't "different." Then it gets patented because it's totally unique.)
They may be very good changes. Let's assume they are for a minute (which is a BIG assumption). The main issue, though, is that when these new foods hit the market, consumers will be going overnight from all natural to new and improved.
These New Foods May Throw Your Body Into a Fight or Flight Mode
From an Ayurvedic perspective those changes are too fast. It puts a toll on the body. It throws it into the high-adrenal "flight-or-fight" state.
I don't know how these new genetic encodings are going to affect those who consume it. Especially over a long period of time. Especially since genetic modification is such a haphazard science today. Altering DNA is usually done by "shooting" in new strands with the help of an E. coli virus. It's pretty primitive. They may make positive improvements to the DNA, and in the process they may make damaging, alien changes.
We're messing with genes at a microscopic level. We have no idea what kind of chronic stress this is going to put on our physiology and the animals' physiology. And when these cloned foods breakdown inside our bodies, they'll become part of our bodies.
Far Too Many Unknowns
In short, there are simply far too many unknowns about something that is a very complicated subject. They've not even tested a 1000 animals and it's already been approved for human consumption. Most of the analysis of the meat and dairy has been done in laboratories. They're checking superficial points like the nutritional content.
The real experiment will start when these cloned animals produce offspring and those offspring start showing up on people's dinner tables. If you're in Canada, you're in luck, cloned meat and dairy has not been approved by Health Canada. Europe, however, has already given the go ahead.
And, no labeling is being required. The only safe route, if you eat meat, or buy dairy, is to go organic. Certified organic meat and dairy will not be modified genetically. Of course, until cross-breeding starts taking place, like we are seeing with genetically modified foods.
We are risking contaminating the entire species of these animals.
Splicing Up India's Symbol of Nurture
On another note, the idea of cloning and modifying cow DNA strikes an Indian chord in my heart. As you know, in India the cow is a symbol of the Divine Mother -- the symbol of nurturing for the human race. Cow's milk is considered the most sacred food in India, because the cow gives it freely. All other foods, even fruits and vegetables, must be taken at the expense of the plant.
Now we are taking Mother Nature, and splicing up her DNA. Crucifying her on the butcher table of scientific neurosis.
Warm milk with chocolate in it is one of the most universal drinks of comfort. Those days are gone. The sacred place the cow holds and the history of milk in Ayurvedic medicine (including ghee) has been darkened by the shadow of modern scientific tyranny.

The internet is the wild, wild west of cyberspace. I love the internet because it is a way to connect with millions of souls. Who loves money is a blueprint to understand how to marry technology practices with keywords, your desires, and the hard won success of financial power is the result.
Article writing is a stepping stone to deeply connecting with each others need. Realizing that even though you have not met the writer in yourself that the need to reach out is there. We all need a guide but we must be willing to follow the guide and do the steps.
I was recently involved in a class of third graders learning about the power of saving money every month. Their teacher had them deposit money.Write checks for what they wanted and balance their account. Many wanted items that cost much more than they had in the bank. Others, became angry because they would have to save a lot before they could get what they wanted. A precocious little boy said," Every night before I go to bed after my prayers, I am going to tell money how much I love it.
Money will help my mommy give us what we need. Who loves money is a question that we must ask ourselves every day and jot down the answer for a week. We will find out our deepest feelings just like the boy who spontaneously discovered his relationship to money. He decided he loved it. Great decision. He declared" I know who loves money , me." The first step to success is find the feeling that puts you in touch with what you love and why. Just like Joseph Campbell taught. Follow your bliss and all you desires will follow.
Carson and Kyle were young college students full of hope, fear and drive. How are we going to use the skill we have to build a life for ourselves? Igniting their skill, creativity, and ingenuity they studied the internet and figure out with next to no money how to generate huge sums of money. Who loves money is a book that provides step by step, easy to understand complete instructions for even the internet challenged to succeed.
It has been hard for me as I have a full time job and my expertise is not in the area of internet or marketing. Amazingly enough, these two young men with the force of their skill and commitment to help me and others like you, have brought me out of the dark ages and into successful money making on the net. The real question is " who doesn't love money?"

Daily oil massage plays a major role in preventing complications from stress like hypertension, depression, headaches, and more. In India massage is a natural part of daily life. Infants are massaged every day from the day they are born to age three, and weekly after that. By age six, children are massaging their elders. It's common for entire families to massage one another once a week. Pregnant women are massaged daily during pregnancy and for more than a month after giving birth. Sensual massage with aphrodisiac oils is advised in treatises on sexology.
In Ayurveda, bathing is a ritual designed to clean you inside and out, and begins with the application of oil. Applying oil to your skin lubricates, protects, detoxifies, and rejuvenates your skin and nervous system, while soothing your endocrine system. The oil helps loosen and liquefy ama so that the toxins can drain into the body's gastrointestinal tract for elimination. It is an excellent antidote for modern stresses and is said to help you achieve the balance that is the foundation of spiritual development. As the body's largest and most sensitive organ, your skin deserves abhyanga every day.
In Ayurveda getting a massage or giving one to yourself is one of the most effective and pleasant ways you can balance vata and is a wonderful way to start the day. With regular practice you'll see why abhyanga is considered to be the crown jewel of rejuvenation, prevention, and longevity. Sesame oil is recommended for vata, pitta, and kapha types, and for healthy people as well as those suffering from an illness. The only exception is when your kapha is aggravated in this case you should use a dry massage, described below. Be sure to get cold-pressed organic oil from a health food store. Olive oil is also acceptable, and coconut oil works well for pitta types. Never use mineral oil or any other oil that is not digestible (the skin is a digestive organ). It's traditional to cook the oil one time, heating it until it forms tiny bubbles. This is said to cure the oil and prevent it from turning rancid. Certain condi¬tions respond best to medicated oils—oils to which special herbs and fragrant spices have been added, as specified in the A–Z section. Once you've been treating yourself to abhyanga regularly, it's hard to stop, and even busy people manage to make time.
"If I get lazy or pressed for time and skip my daily abhyanga, I really start to miss it. I feel scattered, less grounded, less able to cope. I love the little pool of serenity it creates in the morning . . . a quiet, sensual time just for myself before I get swept up in the madness of the day. I think what a different world it would be if everyone had v,p,k, massage in the morning Copyright © Dr.Helen Thomas 2007. All rights reserved.

Article Title: Tips on How to Arrange Living Room Furniture

Arranging living room furniture isn't an art. It's actually a bit of a science. The eyes like harmony and balance, but not so much that it creates boredom or complacency. Savvy designers know this, of course, mixing fabrics, colors, textures and sizes to create a welcoming space that feels homey but never boring.
Thankfully, you don't have to go to interior design school to learn the basics of arranging living room furniture for both form and functionality. The first thing you want to remember is that the living room needs to be livable. You should never do something that makes it look more like a showroom than a place to comfortably entertain family and friends. Start off by deciding what your living room is used for. For example, do you use it only when guests are over, or is it part of a great room concept that makes it multi-functional?
Traditional formal living rooms aren't as popular as they once were, primarily because the way we use our homes have changed. Today's families want to use all of the their space, eschewing formal for functional. Once you know how the living room fits into your lifestyle, it's time to pick a focal point. Often this is an architectural element, such as a large view window or a fireplace. It can also be a large screen TV or even a work of art. If you have an element that is dominant, arrange your future around it. Arranging living room furniture around a focal point is one of the easiest ways to make your room more inviting.
Start with the largest piece of furniture and face it toward the focal point. This could be a sofa, love seat, sectional or even two large chairs. It's up to you and there's no right or wrong. That said, everything doesn't have to be at a 90 degree angle to one another. This can create the boredom that you so desperately want to avoid. Play with the angles a bit until it feels right to you. Once you have the larger pieces in place, you can add a coffee table or end tables. But don't overdo it. Too much furniture can ruin the effect you're going for. While it's tempting to use every stick of furniture you own in a room, resist the temptation. Less is often more, and that goes for accessorizing as well, from the number of knickknacks to the art on the walls. A room should have breathing room.
While placement is important, so is access. You want to have a natural, open entry point to the seating area in the living room. This is made a lot easier if you don't over furnish. Still, you want to leave enough room between the furniture so that a visitor naturally knows how to enter the room. Try to keep at least three feet between furnishings in the main traffic corridor. However, also remember that the seating should not be more than eight feet apart. Even in today's larger homes, you don't want to make it hard to carry on a conversation without yelling across the room. In the secondary traffic patterns, eighteen inches to two feet will do. This includes the space between the sofa and the coffee table. Remember that some furnishings can pull the eye away from the focal point, even in a large room. This can include a large bookcase with lots of collectible books or a curio cabinet with fascinating objects in it. A grand piano is another offender. If you must have these in the living room, either integrate them into the main focal point or make sure they are visually separate. For example, in a great room you may want to create a music space that is away from the main furniture grouping so that each area can be its own focal point.
Once you have everything right where it belongs, start adding the small stuff. This includes the photos, vases, tabletop collectibles and other décor that makes your home look like you live there, not someone else. There's no rush in finishing up the room. You may want to move the furniture first and put off the accessorizing until later. That way you can focus entirely on the focal point and how you arranged your furniture. If all the other stuff has been added, it may make it more difficult to objectively assess the layout and make any adjustments.
One of the great things about moving the furniture around is that it's free. Add in a fresh coat of paint to the walls while the furniture is in play and you may just take a so-so living room and make it amazing instead.
