This program has been used and reviewed by many and has been deemed a lifesaver for many Internet marketers and businesses.

The program can be used with any MLM or affiliate business and it enables users to generate high converting ads for any niche in just a few clicks; thus saving user's time and money. Since a Niche Ad Generator is a web based program, the generator can be accessed at all times even from different computers, thus it's great if you wish to access the program whilst on the move. With the software, each ad created by the program is unique to all others with an aim to promote the item that is on offer. The program enables marketers to advertise via sites such as Craigslist, EBay classified and newspapers and can also be used to aid the process of monetizing blogs or websites. The program enables the distribution of hundreds of advertisements in just minutes, yet the simplicity of the process is astounding. It's great for newbies or for those who haven't yet mastered how to write high converting adds and it's free and simple, therefore is suits all users with all abilities. Training is available to ensure that customers are benefiting from the service, however prior technical training or knowledge isn't necessary to operate the program.

Reviews have been mixed regarding the efficacy of Niche Ad Generators. One reviewer said, "The beauty of the Niche Ad Generator is not only that it's free, but it is NOT complicated" , which illustrates the program's accessibility to non-technical users. Other reviewers, however, have criticized the program's incompatibility with Mac, which may become problematic with more and more Windows users turning to Mac hardware. Many users have commented on the lack of niches available for the Niche Ad Generator, however further niches have been promised in the future which will inevitably expand the program's customer base. Mixed reviews are inevitable with any program or product available on the market, as user needs vary as well as user abilities. Nonetheless, Niche Ad Generators are without a doubt effective in creating a high volume of ads in a variety of areas, and with an increasing number of people wishing to monetize their blogs and advertise their products it is likely that Niche Ad Generators will continue to gain users and success.

Article Title: Are Shoe Care Kits Really Necessary Shoe Care Products?

Up until recently it was very easy to walk into a London shoe shop, cobblers or convenience store and come across all the shoe care products you ever needed. Typically, it was very difficult to make out exactly what you were looking for as a whole range of shoe polishes and shoe accessories confronted you. To make it easier these stores offered shoe care kits, essentially a well-chosen selection of shoe care products in a small toiletry like bag so that you could be fairly sure you had everything you needed. When an individual product ran out you would then be able to return to the shop and buy an exact like for like replacement. The job of looking after your shoes was easy and these shoe care kits really did contain everything you needed including shoe polish, shoe brushes, polishing clothes, shoe horns and more. Many people took the ease at which they could find and buy the right products to look after their shoes for granted. These days did not last for ever and the tide did start to turn quite considerably shortly after.

When this day eventually arrived, the good and varied choice previously in shoe shops, cobblers and convenience stores disappeared in a short period of time. This dramatic change occurred during the 3 - 5 year period when e-commerce started to become very popular in the UK, approximately 2001-2006. In this short space of time many cobblers were overran by the internet especially when their products were available for half the price online. The cobblers could no longer make a decent margin on these shoe care products and many became solely focused on repairing shoes instead; the online market had yet to find a way to cater for repairs. During the same time shoe shops started to stock fewer products - again this was due to the margin cuts they were forced to take due to the emergence of online shopping. Ecommerce had dragged down the price of shoe care products by so much that it no longer made business sense to sell them. Instead, a very small range of shoe care products was available and in the space replacing shoe care products were more designer shoes from which they would be able make more money. Convenience stores also fell foal to the internet. This was up to the point that you would now only be able to find brown and black shoe polish and one size of black shoe laces if you were lucky.

This decline has been so dramatic that the layman or the casual passer-by who has watched this over time may have thought that products such as shoe care kits were no longer required and simply old fashioned. This is however simply not the case. Shoe care products are still needed as much as they were before; people still need to dress smartly to go to work or go out socialising. As a result, these products will still be here longer than you or I, even though you may only be able to purchase such items online.

In a recent Cosmopolitan survey, around 88% of all women, who were married more than 5 years admitted that their marriages were 'on the rocks.' With divorce rates skyrocketing, the chances of a couple making it to their golden anniversary today are slimmer than ever. So what's going on here? And what should couples do when they are worried that their marriage is on the rocks?

The first thing to realize is that all relationships, whether marital or otherwise go through rough times. As responsibilities and expectations change in your life, so will your relationship with your spouse. Plus, humans never stop growing and it could be that the two of you are growing in different directions at different speeds. But if you really want to save your marriage and take stock in the 'till death do us part,' section of your vows – then you need to act quickly. The following 5 steps will help put the two of you back on right path when it comes to your marriage.

    1. Communicate. The most prevalent reason couples become dysfunctional is because they stop communicating. It is important that you and your spouse take time every day to talk about what is going on and your feelings. Try to make these encounters pleasurable, and talk about your own relationships rather than your children or your job. Also, use your communication time for something positive and refrain from allowing your pent up resentments and frustrations to surface. Instead, schedule another time to talk about these issues.

    2. Connect physically. It's no secret that sexual desire, intimacy, and interest seem to level off after the first few years of marriage. Men and women both feel differently about sex, and see this 'lack of sexual contact' as a larger issue. Women might think they are no longer attractive to their spouse. Men, might feel that they are no longer important to their wives if she doesn't want to have sex. After a dry spell, it can be difficult to get back in the swing of things and make love to one another. Try not to over think your sexual encounters and just do it. A quickie in the bathroom can do wonders for your marriage and your sex drive. The lack of a sexual connection can be devastating to a marriage and it is up to you to keep the sex alive. After all, remember that sex is supposed to be the fun, easy part of marriage.

3.Compliment one another. Couples often get into a rut of pointing out the negative and complaining or nagging about every little thing. While these minor complaints are really indicative of larger problems – it doesn't feel good to be in a major that is so negative. Every time you are tempted to say something derogatory or negative, find a positive replacement thought. You might be surprised how far a well-placed compliment can go, especially between a couple that is having some difficulty. Plus, when you start paying attention to just how many negative things you say to one another in the course of the day, you can become aware of areas that YOU and your spouse need to work on.

    4. Have a common goal. Something brought the two of you together. Most couples start out with a clear vision and a plan, and somehow get knocked off course. If the two of you can find something to start working for together, it can reignite the passion in your relationship. Plus, you will find that the two of you are on the same page again. Your goal could be a home improvement project, the purchase of a new car or even to start a new business.

    5. Seek counseling. There are no guarantees that a marriage counselor can work. But seeing a counselor is a great gesture that can help the two of you focus on the marriage and on fixing the problems. Plus, it makes a statement about how important saving the marriage is to the two of you.

The truth is that with a little love and attention (or TLC) your marriage can and will survive. Most couples have highs and lows in their relationships. As long as you can still remember why you love your spouse, chances are the two of you can work things out.

In today's educational system, homework is becoming more abundant and definitely more important in meeting the curriculum needs. As a parent, it can be frustrating to see your child come home from a full school day, only to have another few hours of work left to do at home. Many of the projects and book reports of today also require even young students to do things like power points. And as their workload becomes increasingly difficult and time consuming, many parents find that they are unable to help their children with homework. Not to mention, that quite often children and parents don't work very well together when it comes to homework. You will typically hear things such as, "My teacher doesn't do it that way," and "That's not the right way to do it," which makes you feel incompetent and irritated all at the same time.

The truth is though that children still need help with their homework in many instances. Not only should parents make sure that it gets done, but they also need to make sure they sit down and check it. As your children make their way towards middle school, you will find that staying in touch with their homework is a sure fire way to be clear on what is expected of them in class and what they are learning. The question is how do you avoid the arguments and drama that parents often face when they try to 'help' their kids with their homework? Here are a few tips to make this a tad easier!

    • When your kids get home from school, allow them to have some down time. Let them have a snack, unwind in the yard, play a video game, or do something un-academic. While you might think its best to get it down straight away – your kids likely need a break.

    • Plan a space for homework. Rather than let them sit on the couch in front of the television – set them up at the kitchen table or a desk where they have everything they need and YOU can have their direct attention.

    • Don't hover! If they need help, offer it to the best of your ability, but don't lean over their shoulder constantly and be over critical. If they are making a mistake such as rushing through their work or being messy; warn them but allow their grade to reflect their lack. Then make sure there is a consequence for poor grades.

    • If you don't understand something your children are doing – research it together on the internet. Often, especially in math teachers instruct children to do problems in a progressive manner that ties in to the next lesson. Just because you can get the correct answer in a different way, doesn't mean you should force your child to work the problem that way.

    • If your child is struggling in one class and seems to have an immense amount of homework that causes stress, see if they can stay after school to complete it with the teacher instead of you. Also, don't be afraid to contact a teacher if you feel the homework is too much. It may be that your child is not performing their class work as expected.

    • Extra curricular activities are important. However as your child gets older, learning to prioritize is a life skill that they need to learn for themselves. Teach them how to be organized and make sure they are aware of their schedules so that they put homework first.

    • If you and your child seem to argue, fuss and fight every time you sit down to do homework (you are not alone) then see if someone else can over see homework. Often they work better with one parent or even a grandparent than they do with you. Remember it is more important that the work gets done than it is that they do it YOUR way.

    • Be clear on your expectations when it comes to schoolwork and homework and stick to your guns. You know better how to get your child to succeed and although it is their responsibility to do so academically – they need your guidance whether they act like it or not.

    • Be compassionate. School is hard on children and today's kid has more responsibilities and pressure put on them than ever before. Rather than be hard nosed and demanding, reward them for good work and show them that you understand how they feel.

Homework is vital to school success. Often, teachers only assign it to round out lesson plans and make up for time shortages in class. If you and your child work together and you start implementing a schedule early in their academic career, things will be much easier in the long run.

When mom and dad remarry the blending of the children can be the hardest part. Suddenly, you feel cheated by all those episodes of the Brady Bunch where the kids seemed to get along so perfectly without jealousy and discord. (Except for Cindy of course). For many divorced moms and dads, the thought of remarrying is put on hold for the simple reason that they don't want to take on more children or threaten the sanctity of their own children's lives by forcing them to have stepsiblings. However, it really can work – especially if the parents are dedicated to becoming one family.

The first thing that all parents should know going in is that the kids are going to have jealousy. Commonly, what parents do in this situation is try to 'win over' the step children by treating them extra special or lavishing them with love. During this winning over phase, the biological children are left feeling out of the loop and deeply angered by the fact that their very own mother or father is 'trading them in' for some step sibling. Parents should act natural. Before you blend a family, it is important that the new couple sit down and agree on some ground rules and regulations for how the house is going to be run. Chances are that both of you have different parenting styles. Yet living under one roof with children from different families demands that all things remain equal. Sit down and make lists of rules that are important to you, routines that you feel work and how you think things should be run with the children. Then agree to disagree on some, compromise on other and come up with a comprehensive list of the new family rules. Next step is to share them with the children, which will certainly cause a slight sense of discontent at least initially.

Once the groundwork is done, it is important that the new mom and dad stand together without being divided by the biological children. And yes, the children will try to pull the cards that say, "You aren't my real mom or dad!" This is completely natural. Chances are they were already pleased with their first mom and dad and don't see the need to love or accept new ones. Remember in the beginning that you are the one that chose a new partner, not your children. However, at some point after you allow them to blow off steam and let their feelings be known, the new parental pair needs to stand together and demand respect. Ensure to the kids that you aren't trying to replace their real mom or dad, but that you want to love them and help them grow up.

Obviously, it is difficult to imagine accepting other children as your own. While in theory, most people think that the love they have for their new spouse will outweigh any trouble, it can be hard to conjure up the same feelings. Realize that even as an adult, love has to develop between you and your step children. Give it time and try to learn and accept your step children for who and what they are, appreciating their differences from your own children.

When the sibling rivalry and fighting breaks out, it is time to break out the rulebook. Lots of step families stand divided by whose kid they think is at fault for the trouble in the home. Remember, you are one now and you have to act as if all these kids are blood related and apply the same rules no matter what. If you and your spouse disagree, take the argument out earshot of the children so that they do not start manipulating your relationship.

Step families do not always come together immediately. In most cases, the outcome is decided by how well the mom and dad work to keep things natural and routine for the kids. Another huge point of importance is that step mom and step dad should never downgrade the children's birth parent. This will do nothing but cause deep resentment and serve as a huge wedge between establishing any kind of relationships. Yep, it might be hard at times to keep your mouth shut – but the bottom line is that you have to do what is right for your new step family, rather than act out of your own frustration.

In every family, parents argue. It is only natural to disagree with one another on issues big and small. Most families do their best to hide these indiscretions from their children when they are young. Then the children grow up and they develop that sixth sense that tells them something in their life is off kilter. Often, parental disagreements and arguing – whether kept a secret or not, can cause emotional stress for children of all ages. At the same time, it isn't fair to leave your kids with the impression that always playing nice and constantly getting along is par for the course of life.

When parents have an argument, it is often about things that the children don't really understand. What they do understand is that mom and dad are mad at one another. And since they know how it feels to be mad – they worry that their family is in trouble. Even if the argument was about something ridiculously stupid, or simply because mom or dad was in an agitated mood, the children are affected. If arguments in your home often escalate to yelling, name-calling and passive aggressive behavior, it is the witnessing children that will be most disturbed. By the time you and your spouse have worked out the problems behind closed doors and are 'friends again' the children are still wondering if everything is going to be okay. Very young children may ask you questions such as, "Do you hate daddy," or "Are you going to get a divorce," which simply punctuates how unsafe arguing in front of the kids can make a child feel.

At the same time, children should learn that people who love each other do have disagreements. As an adult, you should pick and choose your moments to argue in front of the kids. If you are fussing about how much salt to put in the mashed potatoes or the house being a mess, and then make sure your children are able to witness the compromise that makes everything okay. Child development experts suggest that children learn how to argue and handle problems by watching their parents. What kind of example are you setting?

Knowing your own temperament is key. If you tend to be a hot head and explode about things right out of the gate, it is best that you learn to curb this behavior. Although your spouse may understand you, your children will not. Additionally, behaving this way with your spouse eventually suggests you will behave this way with your children as well. This will denote their trust in you and make them fearful of talking to you about problems in their own life. Take a breath. Go outside for a walk. Make sure that before you react to a situation in front of your children, you are acutely aware that what they hear will cause them to feel threatened in their home life. Obviously, you and your spouse aren't going to divorce over leaving the toilet seat up one too many times, but your children don't sense that.

When it is time to reconcile or talk about things, do it privately. Parents deserve to have private moments and children are neither privy nor privileged to be involved in every aspect of your life. At the same time, if they were around to witness the argument make sure you explain to them that mommy and daddy talked about their problems and everything is okay. Explain to them that when people love and respect each other, they will still have arguments but they will work hard to solve them. Strive to do the same thing with your children. When you and them have disagreements, make sure that they know you still love them and that talking about things will solve the problems.

Hiding every discretion from children can also give them a false sense of security. There are plenty of kids who hear about their parents divorcing or not getting along and are shocked and unprepared for the after math. This also develops into a false sense of what real life relationships in their own should be like. The best thing that a parent can do is know when something is appropriate to talk about in front of the children, and know when to keep their mouths shut until a private moment presents itself.

Children learn more from their parents by what their parents do, than they do from what they say. If you are preaching conflict resolution to your children but don't show them how it works in real life, you are doing them a great disservice. Instead, teach them that being upset or disappointed, being frustrated with someone you care about is natural and that it isn't the end of the world. This way, they will trust that their parents will work things out and they won't be scarred by hearing those impulsive things that couples say to one another in the heat of the moment.

For nine long months, you gave up your body for the sake of your child. You avoided your favorite Cokes, made sure you did not intake too much salt, stayed away from shellfish and resisted that beautiful glass of red wine that you used to enjoy with your bubble bath each night. And all of this was okay, because you knew the end result; a healthy baby was worth it. Now, you are holding your precious baby – struggling to get 8 hours of sleep and are excited to have your body back to yourself. Except for you have decided to take the road to health and breastfeed. Doctors and books are now telling you again what you can and cannot eat or drink in order to not compromise your baby's health. Alcohol, of course is one of those things.

But recent research and information provided by the La Leche League is now trying to help nursing mothers to understand that they breastfeeding is not all about self-sacrifice. Scientific research into the effects of alcohol and breastfeeding has even indicated that having a beer or glass of Chablis while you are breastfeeding is not going to hurt your baby. Here's why.

Alcohol enters the breast milk in the same way it does the blood stream. Similarly, when the alcohol has left the blood stream it is also out of the breast milk. Your milk might be left with a sour after taste from your drink of choice, but the effects of alcohol are no longer a threat to your baby. What many nursing mothers do after indulging in an adult beverage is pump and dump their breast milk like a mad woman, ridden with guilt and worried that they will intoxicate their baby. Research suggests that this not necessary. In fact, what they do recommend is that you pump milk prior to drinking so that your baby will have fresh, untainted breast milk while you are enjoying your favorite wine or mixed drink. Then, to flush your body with plenty of fluids and allow the alcohol to leave your blood stream and breast milk.

Now obviously, this is not to suggest or recommend that breastfeeding mothers now have the right to become alcoholics or over indulge in alcohol. This is simply talking about having a drink in moderation. It is also about the realization that just because you are breastfeeding, does not mean that you are necessarily greatly restricted as you were during pregnancy. For many women, the choice to not breastfeed is due to the fact that they do not want to be restrained from enjoying things that they enjoy in life, such as a cold beer or glass of wine. Being tied down to your baby for feedings can be compounded when you are also limited about what you can enjoy.

What you should know if you are breastfeeding is that during the first two months of your infant's life, their liver is underdeveloped. This means that drinking and breastfeeding CAN hurt your baby. But as mentioned above, once the alcohol is out of your blood stream and breast milk, your baby will be fine. If you are still concerned, then you should go ahead and pump and dump your milk after wards so that you will not feel guilty after having a drink.

If you have chosen to breastfeed, you should be careful what you eat and drink. Spicy foods can cause stomach upset that is more debilitating than what a glass of wine would cause. The key is to keep things in balance. You should never breastfeed your baby while you are in the midst of drinking, because this would ensure that they would get some alcohol content from your breast milk. Also, if you are planning to drink make sure that there is someone sober to watch your baby. But the bottom line is that sometimes a small drink in the evening as you spend some time with your spouse can really take the edge off of life and make you feel like an adult again. If you are skipping out because you are afraid that you will hurt your baby, don't! Breast feeding is a huge sacrifice and one that you will never regret, but you don't have to feel that you have to avoid all the things in life that you enjoy.

In law school we learned intentional torts require intent. But is this true?

Sometimes "no," said the New Mexico Court of Appeals when asked to decide the following: Can a person be liable for assault and battery even though he only provided aid and encouragement to the perpetrator?

    The Facts

While visiting the home of Emilio Cadena, Eddie Rael was beaten by Emilio's nephew, Manuel Cadena. After the attack began, Emilio yelled to Manuel "Kill him! Hit him more!" Eddie Rael sued Emilio and Manuel Cadena for civil battery. The trial court found Emilio jointly liable with Manuel for the battery. On appeal the judgement was affirmed.

The Rael court stated "[i]t is clear...that in the United States, civil liability for assault and battery is not limited to the direct perpetrator, but extends to any person who, by any means, aids or encourages the act." Rael v. Cadena, 604 P.2d 822 (NM Ct. App. 1979)

    The Support: American Case Law

In support, Rael cited several American cases, including:

    1) Hargis v. Horrine, 230 Ark. 502, 323 SW2d 917 (1959) ( holding that a person who is present, encouraging or inciting an assault and battery by words, gestures, looks, or signs, or who by any means approves the same, is in law deemed to be an aider and abettor and liable as a principal) (parenthetical added);

    2) Ayer v. Robinson,163 Cal.App.2d 424, 329 P.2d 546 (1958) ("A party injured by an unjustified assault may recover damages not only from the actual assailant, but from any other person who aids, abets, counsels or encourages the assault")(parenthetical added);

    3) Guilbeau v. Guilbeau, 326 So.2d 654 (La. App. 1976)(holding that "One who causes another to do an unlawful act or assists or encourages in the commission of such an act is liable in solido with that person for the damage caused by the act.")(parenthetical added);

    4) Duke v. Feldman,245 Md. 454, 226 A.2d 345 (1967) ( "A person may be held liable as a principal for assault and battery if he, by any means [words, signs, or motions]encouraged, incited, aided or abetted the act of the direct perpetrator of the tort)"(parenthetical added);

    5) Brink v. Purnell, 162 Mich. 147, 127 NW 322 (1910);

Further Support: Legal Encyclopedias and American Law Reports

    Rael also cited 6 Am.Jur.2d Assault and Battery § 128 (1963); 6A CJS Assault and Battery § 11 (1975); Annot., 72 ALR2d 1229 (1960).

Even More Support: The Restatement of Torts

And Rael court cited with approval the Restatement of Torts:

"[f]or harm resulting to a third person from the tortious conduct of another, one is subject to liability if he ... (b) knows that the other's conduct constitutes a breach of duty and gives substantial assistance or encouragement to the other so to conduct himself...." Restatement (Second) of Torts § 876 (1979).

The Rael court clarified that, "...verbal encouragement at the scene gives rise to liability."

And that: "[A] person may be held liable for the tort of assault and battery if he encouraged or incited by words the act of the direct perpetrator. ..."

There are many options to choose from, including independent movers, Mom-and-Pop firms, college student-based operations, and the few-men-and-a-truck operations. However, in many cases, the best moving companies are those that are affiliated with major corporations. But, why go with the big-name corporate movers instead of staying local and patronizing a local moving business? Sure, there are a couple homegrown benefits to hiring a local independent moving company, but before you put the economic needs of a small moving business first, consider this – major moving companies usually offer services that you simply can't receive if you hire just any local mover.

The popular van lines in the moving industry today have grown in size and scope because they have proven time and time again to countless customers that they have the necessary skill to execute successful moves. Many of these moving companies have hands-on training programs that teach employees the proper and safest packing, loading, and transport techniques, and will not hire movers who have less than a certain amount of experience. Additionally, many van lines will hire movers who heavily specialize in facilitating certain types of moves, for example, office relocations, electronics moving, or tradeshow exhibit transport. Depending on the nature of your move, the moving company would then dispatch these highly skilled specialists out to your job, ensuring that your personal belongings are in the right hands.

There are many other reasons to go with a major moving company besides the skill and experience of their movers. Customer service is just one reason to hire a major moving company. If that comes as a surprise to you, then consider this: many of the larger moving companies make providing excellent customer service a paramount mission. In fact, many of the larger van lines offer the same type of personal, one-on-one service that has long been associated with smaller moving companies. The size of these companies also allows them to assign personal moving coordinators to each of their customers; a personal relocation coordinator usually serves in the function of a project manager and will oversee the move and even serve as the customer's convenient, sole point of contact.

Another reason to choose a major moving company is that they usually have affiliates located throughout the country and even around the world, which makes a van line service an even more desirable option if you are moving long distance. But whether you're relocating a business's headquarters halfway around the world or simply moving a couple beds and a few dozen boxes to a new home in the next neighborhood over, at the end of the day, you can count on van lines to have the necessary knowledge, experience, and resources to ensure the job is completed successfully. And, when moving day arrives and your personal belongings are being loaded, packed, and hauled to your new destination, any stress or anxiety you may have leading up to the big day will be washed away by the invaluable peace of mind you will enjoy knowing that your belongings are in safe, skilled hands.

Hiring local movers in Phoenix can seem like an arduous task, especially with the several dozen moving companies serving residents and businesses in the Valley of the Sun. So, how do you choose the right movers when there are so many moving companies to begin with? If you approach shopping for the right moving company like looking for a good doctor, you will be sure to find a mover that will perfectly suit your needs. When you look for a doctor, you would probably first look for one who handles the types of maladies or other health issues you want care for, right? Well, when it comes to hiring a mover, you need to take a similar approach. Just as not all doctors specialize in all areas of medicine, some movers won't perform all types of moves. So, when you are searching for local Phoenix movers on the internet or by calling them, you will need to narrow your search to those that specialize in packing, loading, and transporting the types of items you need moved.

Usually, moving companies are listed by the type of moves they perform, such as office moving, household moving, and electronics moving, for example. So, be sure to start your search that way, just like you would start your search at ear, nose, and throat (ENT) doctors if you were trying to resolve a nasal problem. While it is important to peg down a moving company that focuses on the types of move that you need performed, it is especially imperative to find the right mover if you are relocating fragile or high-value items. Take, for example, IT systems, antique furniture, family heirlooms, grand pianos, and audio and video equipment – these are all items that need to be packed, loaded, and transported with extra caution.

Sometimes, finding local Phoenix movers who have that extra degree of skill or knowledge means having to call around and ask moving companies about the credentials of their movers. That's OK – you should never feel awkward because you are asking about a mover's personal experience with packing and loading expensive or fragile items. Just like you would ensure that your doctor has adequate experience, so, too, should you make sure that your personal belongings will be in capable hands. After all, any moving company that has highly experienced movers will gladly inform you about the skill of their employees, and you might even find this information on the company's website.

Another way to ascertain the background of the local Phoenix movers you are considering hiring is to check them out with your local Better Business Bureau (BBB). The BBB maintains a list of local businesses and rates them based on how few complaints each has received, overall customer satisfaction, and other factors; the highest rating a business can receive is an A+.

If you follow the tips above, there is no reason that you should expect to find anything less than a professional moving company that will successfully perform your move.

Article Title: Guide to How to Apply For a Building Notice For a Domestic Lift to be Fitted in Your Home in the UK

It is a common question that when people enquiry about home lifts in the United Kingdom they wonder if planning permission is required? The simple answer is no - all that is needed is a standard building notice.

Once you have decided which one of the several through-floor lifts available on the market you are going to buy, you will then need to submit a building notice submission to your local council authority. A simple Google search should bring up the council's website and its contact details otherwise telephone directory enquires or try the Phone Book.

The department you need to deal with is Building Standards. Depending on the council's website, a building notice application can be downloaded as a PDF or Word document otherwise you can request that they send you one out in the post. Once you have completed the form it needs to be posted to the council - then just wait for them to respond.

A building notice is for minor works such as lifts and elevators and allows applicants to give notice of their intent to carry out work on their home without submitting information for formal assessment and approval. A fee may apply so check with your local council. The assessment and approval of works is then carried out by Building Standards during the construction process.

You must notify Building Standards a minimum of two working days before you intend a domestic lifts company to commence work on installing your home lift and to allow at various stages inspection of the works. Typically the lead time is between six to 10 weeks for a through-floor lift depending on the application and whether the lift needs custom alterations so there is plenty of time.

Once the domestic lift or through floor lift is installed, Building Control will issue a completion certificate stating it meets with Building Regulations. If you intend to sell your property in the future the document should be kept in a safe place as the buyer may require it. A building notice application is valid for three years from the date of application.

Overall, obtaining a standard building notice for a home lift is very straight forward and much easier than planning permission for a house extension, for example. That can take months and months depending on the size of the extension. But As long as you notify the council in plenty of time, it will not delay the installation of your new lift in anyway.

To help afford a home lift, it is also possible to apply for a Disabled Facilities Grant. Again, the applicant must go through their local council that will provide the money required for the work.

The grant applies to homeowners but also those people who live in rented accommodation as long as they have permission from their landlords.

A maximum of £30,000 can be paid out for a Disabled Facilities Grant but this figure can be increased by local authorities for help with other home improvement projects.

    *********************** ARTICLE START ***********************

Workplace violence is a serious recognized occupational hazard, ranking among the top four causes of death in workplaces during the past 15 years. More than 3,000 people died from workplace homicide between 2006 and 2010, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS). Additional BLS data indicate that an average of more than 15,000 nonfatal workplace injury cases were reported annually during that time period.

Because employers, employees, victims' advocates, union activists, and the US Government have worked collaboratively for almost two decades to take precautions to protect workers, workplace homicides have decreased over 50% since the early 90's and similar progress has been made in reducing nonfatal injuries due to workplace violence by 75%.

Unfortunately, we are experiencing a recent onslaught of homicides, many affecting schools. These incidents are startling and traumatic, to say the least. The killing of 20 children and 6 adults at Sandy Hook Elementary School shocked the nation into seeking solutions to gun violence. And, as we know, the President of the United States proposed closing background check loopholes to keep guns out of dangerous hands; banning military-style assault weapons and high-capacity magazines, and taking other steps to reduce gun violence; making schools safer; and increasing access to mental health services.

"These incidents and others like them can be avoided or decreased if employers take appropriate precautions to protect their workers," said Assistant Secretary of Labor for Occupational Safety and Health Dr. David Michaels. "We have accompanied this directive with a new web page on Preventing Workplace Violence to help employers address workplace violence issues." Website link www.osha.gov.

    Workplace Violence Awareness Month

With awareness and attentiveness -- and by paying homage and respect to workers who have died while at work -- we can all help halt this nationwide danger. The Alliance Against Workplace selected this month as Workplace Violence Awareness Month because Workers Memorial Day is observed on April 28. This month, and throughout the year, you are encouraged to take actions that will assist the Alliance in getting the word out to interested persons that workplace violence, bullying and other dangerous conflicts can be prevented. We must be vigilant year-round!

Everyone, nationwide, is encouraged to help educate the public about this problem that is generally considered a police issue or as unavoidable. We believe that if more people understand what workplace violence is, and what preventive measures can be utilized to halt it, they will take the necessary steps to make their workplaces safer.

    Alliance Against Workplace Violence

The problem of workplace violence is not a separate issue from the other problems of violence that plague our society. We realize that violence in homes and communities often spills over into the workplace. The Alliance Against Workplace Violence was created to generate discussion and ideas about preventing violence in the workplace among those who are already working diligently in this area and to include persons in the community who may be unaware of the problem. Consultants and practitioners in workplace violence prevention have joined in a collaborative effort to bring information to schools, churches, community associations, chambers of commerce, and violence prevention organizations.

This month of observance is a time to draw ongoing attention to not only the problem of workplace violence but to possible solutions. Many companies already provide workplace violence prevention, education, intervention, and other similar services in this area. But more workplaces, workplace consultants, managers and employees must be made aware and become involved.

The Alliance published its first book Halt the Violence. This book provides a roadmap for employers to utilize in halting workplace violence. Alliance members are available to assist employers and communities in workplace violence education and prevention.

This year AAWPV is also creating an online directory of professionals working in violence prevention, including the workplace and the community. We believe that the problem must be addressed comprehensively in order to be effective, and we urge each of you to post words of support for Workplace Violence Awareness Month. You may also be listed in our online directory and/or purchase advertising on the site to inform others of the services that you offer. Please work diligently within your local communities to increase public awareness of this problem and its solutions. You could save a life of someone you love.

In recognition of Workplace Violence Awareness Month, we are creating a wall to remember those who have died due to Workplace Violence. If you have been a victim of workplace violence and/or bullying, The Alliance would also like to hear your story.

Article Title: Could Your Business Benefit From Switching to Cloud Computing?

Moving over to a cloud server essentially means your business is hosted on the internet, rather than on an in-house server. Internal servers come with their own set of problems, and usually require an extensive IT department to keep things ticking over and to come to the rescue should any crises occur.

What does cloud computing for businesses look like? Well, the biggest element for businesses tends to be hosted desktops. That means that, instead of having to sit and work at a specific computer to get your work done, you can access it from anywhere, on any device – because everything you need is on the internet. Oh, and everything is handled by your cloud service provider – meaning less work for you.

So What Does Cloud Computing Mean for Your Business?

    Save Money

Saving money is the reason most business owners switch to cloud hosting solutions. You don't need to upgrade software or hardware nearly so often (if at all), and you'll be able to reduce your IT department drastically – if not wipe it out altogether, depending on the size of your business.

    Make Your Employees Happier

Everyone knows happy employees are the key to a successful business. Well, maybe not everyone knows. But the successful guys sure do. How can a cloud solution make your employees happier? By allowing them to work from home and on their own devices. Giving your employees more autonomy will show that you trust them and help boost their productivity levels too.

    Work from Anywhere

The benefits of being able to work from anywhere extend beyond making your employees happier. If you travel a lot for your business or have a long commute time, a cloud solution could allow you to use that time productively. Kids are ill? Snow blocking the driveway? If you can't make it into the office – no problem, just work from home.

Are There Any Disadvantages of Cloud Computing?

There are downsides, of course. Putting your business' documents and data into the hands of an external agent means it could be less secure. You won't have as much control over it, and allowing employees to work from their own devices is a path fraught with potential security hazards – but that doesn't necessarily mean your business will be unsafe. In fact, it could be safer: if your in-house server fails and your IT guys can't rescue it, what then? Shared internet servers can drastically reduce the risk of losing vital data.

Is Cloud Computing Right for Your Business?

Is making the move over to the cloud right for you and your business? Well, chances are you're already using it to some degree. Do you use Gmail or another external webmail service, instead of an in-house email server? How about Google Docs, Dropbox, or another online storage solution? Those things are all hosted on cloud servers.

It's also worth considering that cloud service providers... well, that's what they do. Keeping on top of the latest security measures and making sure all hardware and software is up-to-date, is kinda their expertise. Chances are they know what they're doing, and they do it well.

No matter the controversy that the term Multi-Level Advertising (MLM) or Multi level marketing brings to mind when mentioned in a discussion, the success of such an industry could not be rejected presently.

The long existence of plethoras of NETWORK MARKETING companies is a terrific hint that home based business is below to stay and grow. As such, added people are attempting to sign up with the bandwagon, creating their own MLM.

Yet, a lot of individuals are entirely misdirected or misleaded resulting into the collapse of numerous home based business companies. True that it is hard to sustain multi-level marketing that could possibly grow rapidly well, however definitely there is one key part for an internet marketing organization's success, and that is a reproducing down line.

A lot of people do not know the best ways to create a reproducing down line, however ideally along with the tips to be presented, one could be able to compile a well producing pressure that almost instantly equate into a productive MLM company.

Multi-level advertising and marketing certainly requires management, particularly when constructing a downline. Because building a down line is only another classification for the employment procedure, wonderful people administration skills is important in order for the down line to work well, and hence reproduce.

A lot of individuals think that multi level marketing is a self-generating company, however if that was the case, after that no NETWORK MARKETING company would have had failed. Downlines definitely not replicate by themselves, even if the item being marketed is excellent. Everyones in the downline are to be educated and mentored well or else the business would take no direction and would last but not least fall flat.

The person atop the downline could be able to sign great deals, yet that does not ensure replication. Without a clear direction, the network would not broaden towards success, but as an alternative be paralyzed. The ones on top may effortlessly place the blame on the ones basically, but that sponsored the people down there anyhow' Taking care of a multi-level advertising company requires a lot of generosity and selflessness.

Duplicability is after all not simply the expansion of individuals in variety, but the duplication of the success throughout all the people in the downline.

It is an unfortunate truth in human life that a great deal of individuals believe just for themselves. Everyones ahead might believe just of their success and see the ones under as only machines to circulate the success. But that could not happen in multi-level advertising and marketing.

In order for the leading to prosper, the bottom must be able to be successful as well. When creating a down line, one must have an attitude that enables the success to trickle downwards, and not simply to remain ahead.

More and more people are now realizing the importance of locksmith services, regardless of whether they are an apartment landlord or a private home owner. Truly, locksmiths nowadays do more than just open locks; they also take care of a building's security up to a certain extent. If you have never dealt with a locksmith before, here are some services that you might need them for in the future.

    • Residential Services – this is the most common type of service offered by locksmiths. Almost all households have a locksmith on call, with most locksmiths being needed at least once a month mostly because of emergencies. Majority of calls to locksmiths are by homeowners who locked themselves out of the house. This is either because they lost their keys, forgot them, or their locks are broken or jammed. After confirming that the caller is indeed the owner of the house, a locksmith opens the door for them and repairs or replaces the lock. New homeowners usually call on locksmith services to change locks for the entire house or to upgrade their locks to more durable ones if their home is lacking in security.

    • Automobile services – another common place that people lock themselves out of is their car. This happens when they forget the keys in the ignition, or if the car lock is broken. Also, during the winter, car locks tend to freeze and the key ends up not fitting into the keyhole all the way through. You can call a locksmith to help you get back into your car. They can also repair broken car locks, even if you are using an automated car locking system. Most locksmiths are now knowledgeable in different automatic locking systems, both for houses and cars.

    • Key Duplication – if you are prone to forgetting your car and house keys and you've called in your locksmith quite a few times because you locked yourself out of the house or your car, your locksmith might suggest that you get your keys duplicated and stashed away in a safe place. Locksmiths also offer professional key duplication for situations like these. Aside from basic metal house keys, they can also duplicate advanced locking mechanisms like keys with electrical transponders.

    • Security Assessment and Basic Installation – Nowadays, locksmiths don't simply deal with locks; most of them know how to install and operate basic security features like keypads that lock/unlock doors, security cameras, and the like. You may also call them into your commercial building or home to assess the level of security. They will check all valid points of entry, like garages, doors and windows, to see if they open, close and lock properly. They can make suggestions on how to improve your security system if it is lacking in certain areas.

Security is never a laughing matter and you must never put you or your family at rest by neglecting to hire a good locksmith for your home. Don't wait till you absolutely need one, you can contact a locksmith today so you can have your home's locks and overall security assessed.

Like all man-made things, locks do succumb to wear and tear, become inefficient and can cause problems for its users. However, some people do tend to just keep using their locks until they break, rather than changing them at a certain time. While there is nothing wrong with this, a broken or jammed lock can be very inconvenient, not to mention that it severely compromises the security of your home.

Aside from broken locks, there are other reasons why one must change their locks regularly to make sure that their homes are secured. Below are some of the most common situations wherein you might need to contact a locksmith to have your locks changed.

    • Deterioration of existing locks – Locks don't last forever, even if they're made from durable material. However, the good thing about locks is that they age slowly and they don't just die out on you suddenly. Because of this, you can change locks even before they get jammed or broken.

Warning signs include difficulty in opening your locks even when you're using the right key, or if the lock easily opens on its own simply by jiggling the handle forcefully. If you change locks when you see these warning signs, you'll prevent problems in the future when your lock jams and you are locked out of your house at the most inconvenient of times.

    • Moving into a new home – When you move into a new home, calling a locksmith to change all the locks in the house should be one of your top priorities. This is not to say that you don't trust the old owners, but it's better to be safe than sorry. Even if the old owners were trustworthy, they might have given a spare key to a relative or neighbor that may not be as trustworthy.

    • Changing of household help – If you gave a spare key to a gardener, baby sitter, house sitter or maid, it's a good idea to change the locks in the house once you let them go or change household help. Even if you ask for the keys back before they leave, there's always a chance that they've had it duplicated. To be sure that your house is secured, especially if you didn't part ways peacefully, change the locks immediately.

    • Lost keys – It should require no explanation as to why you need to change locks if you ever lose your keys outside. Don't simply shrug it off and assume that you just misplaced your keys. You should be especially wary if your keys are on a keychain that come with a nametag that has your name, phone number and address.

This is a big security risk and you should call a locksmith immediately if this happens to you.

Your locks are the only thing keeping intruders and other unwelcome individuals away from your home.

This is why it's important to make sure that your locks are always in perfect, working condition and any tampering or problems with it should warrant a lock change immediately.

You may want to start a business, or just improve upon the revenues of the business that you currently own. Those are just two of the things we do. We've won awards for helping those things occur. There are so many different ways to chase success. What are your best objectives? We make it our goal to help you find your best pathway for success.

My Friend Roxy Swindoll, when snapping this idyllic picture, probably never imagined it might be found on the index page of a Consultancy website. After all, what are your thoughts of this peaceful, quiet scene as compared to the day to day hustle and bustle of business? Can't you smell the salt water, and feel relaxation flowing through you, just seeing this and realizing beautiful places like this still exist?

It's easy to imagine it in your mind's eye if you've been part of this life.

Roxy named this photo "My Salt Life" —which I found entirely appropriate and a telling point about how she views life. If you can envision this picture as representative of your own hard-fought and proven success, what does that say for your business and how we can help you attain your own personal success?

You may have wanted to secretly start a business for years, but never–ever–had thought about the various steps required to make it a success. It's time, my friend. In my 40+ years of business experience, I can share with you that there has probably never been a better time to start your own business. Nor has there been a better time to source out the rewards that you can achieve by doing so.

Perhaps you've never really thought about maximizing the success from your business; you've simply worked hard, hired the right people, brought in the right products or services, and the business has grown. Good for you! We're always pleased to work with owners who have been successful.

Conversely, it may have been a fight for you from the start. You may have found yourself fighting every day, arguing with vendors, bankers, and partners or employees– competitively reducing your prices until you work harder for every dollar than you would—sometimes–if you had worked for someone else.

It's to these business owners and managers that the benefit of working with us can be immediately recognizable.

Often, however, a potential client lacks a clear-cut understanding of exactly what their "end game" should represent. Even if they understand what the resultant objective might be, they will look to us to help define the best pathway to achieve their goals. At that, we excel. Ask our references.

Moreover, some clients express a willingness to pay us to help make them successful, but they don't understand the implications of how a pathway to success impacts their business, and–more to the point–they rarely understand how what they seek will impact them personally, or how to best quantify their long-term needs.

    Let us help.

We define our practice through our actions.

We possess management skills proven through a combination of education and experience.

We don't want to be the hottest new trendsetter; we want to accomplish positive objectives and deliver true value to you—by helping you identify opportunities, defining the proper course of action, seizing upon the required change and/or implementing alternatives, ultimately building both revenues and profitability.

    Let's get started.

Many golfers are taking advantage of equipment to acquire many golf skills. Some people are also coming to an on line golf school to take their mobile phone golf lessons. Lots of people notice that the advantage of being able to take their golf lessons wherever you are will work with their daily schedules fast becoming more congested. This is also true for everyone that travels for their business as they can now take their coach along no matter where they travel! If they can pick up an internet connection they can learn how to improve their skills anytime that they are ready! Below are just a couple of the avenues by which they are improving their chipping utilizing an online golf academy.

Totally Free Golf Tutorials - Many golfers lean on an online golf school as they provide you with free online golf lessons. Although it is not absolutely true, I am reminded of an adage that my father wore out…You get what you pay for. Make certain that that the swing advice is provided by a reputable source. In addition, it is very important that you will want to verify that the lesson matches with the ongoing philosophy that you have for your golf swing. Blending beliefs is a recipe for disaster and will only further frustrate you. Opposed to popular belief, there is not a single one golf philosophy that is actually more advantageous than another. Acquiring the most suitable solution for you would depend on your learning style, body build and your targets.

Internet Golf Lessons – One kind of format occurs in the manner of a golf webinar. How this is achieved is by a coach giving a short presentation to get into the webinar and then they open up the chat room to respond to the viewer's questions. Once more, it is generally up to the teacher, but, a number of golf webinars are specific to a topic. An instance would be if a golf teacher hosts a full swing or putting webinar.

The instructor could do the same thing but split it up into modules that are delivered weekly covering say a month. Understandably, many golfers are used to this programming. A great part about this format is that if you wanted to refresh yourself on a detail from the webinar, you can go back and and watch them when your time allows.

Private Golf Lessons – A lot of golfers are now using mobile golf classes as they provide individual golf coaching. Typically, you will tape your golf swing action. You will take some side shots and down the line shots and you will forward it to the online golf school for an instructor to review. The golf trainer can use V1 applications to draw some plane lines and share their ideas for your improvement, before returning it to you. This procedure normally takes multiple days to be reviewed. In addition, the golf academy's fees are very different based upon which on-line golf school that you utilize.

You must admit that how you consume information and how you learn new tasks has changed over the last few years. Internet golf lessons allow you to also learn how to play golf using this new technology. Just a few years ago learning the game of golf through the internet or online was not available. There are many benefits to taking internet golf instruction such as:

    1. No "Techie" Needed With many of the available internet golf lessons you really do not need any technical skills. With most of the options, if you can surf the internet you already have the skills that you will need in order to take advantage of the online golf instruction. Currently, the definition os actually pretty broad. This simply means that you could be watching online videos answering questions about your swing or you could click on a webinar. Webinar is a new word to some and seems like a scary word but it is as about as easy as it comes.

    2. Not Intimidating One of the advantages of taking internet golf lessons is that they take away a lot of the intimidation factor that occurs between many students and instructors when they meet in person. A golf lesson webinar allows you to sit back and listen to the information being presented or you can get involved by asking questions via chat or video depending on how the webinar is being administered.

    3. More Instructors Available Finding a golf instructor is an important part of every player's progress. With golf lessons now being available online, this will allow you the player access to many instructors that you would, due to distance, would never have the chance to meet with on a regular basis. You will want to do some research to make sure that the instructor is knowledgeable and certified. In addition, make sure that the information that you are receiving makes sense with what you are trying to accomplish. Do not be afraid to ask questions to further your understanding or to understand if the info should mesh with your current information.

    4. More Convenient Using one of the many digital media to learn the game of golf, you can consume the information or learn when you are ready. Everyone's schedule is becoming busier and busier. Implementing internet golf lessons into your golf practice always you the freedom to use it when you are ready and not on somebody else's schedule. If you travel, the good news is that you will have your golf instructor or instructions with you at all times as you just need a simple internet connection in order to make them available to you.

    5. Cost Saving the best news for last, usually taking golf lessons on the internet is cheaper than taking lessons in real life. Not only do you have the benefits above available to you, you should get more golf instruction per your hard earned dollar by going online to find your golf instruction. Again, just be sure to do your research on who and where the information is coming from and you should be fine!

Like all surgeries, open-neck and -back operations come with certain risks and the decision to undergo them shouldn't be taken lightly. If your physician has recommended surgical treatment for a degenerative spine condition (such as facet disease, spondylolisthesis, or degenerative disc disease), then you may want to consider a few things before consenting to an operation.

    Is Surgery Really Necessary?

Very few patients who are diagnosed with degenerative spine conditions require surgery. In most cases, conservative, nonsurgical treatments are effective means for relieving pain, numbness, tingling, muscle weakness, and other symptoms associated with compression of the spinal nerves, nerve roots, and spinal cord. If you haven't already utilized all of the nonsurgical treatments available to you, then how do you know that surgery truly is necessary? If there are any of these treatments that your physician hasn't recommended, ask him or her if you should give them a try:

    - Over-the-counter, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) like ibuprofen and naproxen

    - Over-the-counter analgesics like acetaminophen

    - Prescription pain relievers and/or muscle relaxants

    - Physical therapy

    - Lifestyle modifications (ie losing weight, quitting smoking, reducing alcohol consumption)

    - Transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS)

    - Hot/cold therapy

    - Alternative therapies (acupuncture, chiropractic manipulation, restorative yoga, etc.)

It sometimes requires several weeks or months of conservative treatment before a patient achieves pain relief. Keep this in mind and, though it may seem impossible, try not to become frustrated as you and your physician work to find an effective treatment regimen.

Are You a Candidate for a Minimally Invasive Procedure?

If you've exhausted all of your nonsurgical treatment options, then surgery may be warranted. Some patients are candidates for minimally invasive procedures as an alternative to open-neck or -back surgeries. Unlike major spine surgeries, these procedures require no overnight hospital stays and are performed through very small incisions that are generally only about an inch long. Whereas open-spine surgeries necessitate the dissection of musculature, minimally invasive procedures only require that the muscles are gently moved to the side. The surgeon achieves this by inserting a series of tubes into the incision, each slightly larger in diameter than the last.

Eventually, the opening is large enough (typically about the size of a marker) for the surgeon to insert a small camera (endoscope) and various tools. The surgeon uses these tools to decompress a spinal nerve by removing only the portion of spinal anatomy that has invaded the spinal column. In an open-spine surgery, on the other hand, the surgeon may need to remove a portion of anatomy (typically an intervertebral disc) in its entirety. The spine must then be stabilized by installing an intervertebral cage in the space the disc once occupied and inserting bone graft material to fuse the adjacent vertebrae. In contrast, most patients who undergo a minimally invasive procedure do not require spine fusion.

Open-spine surgeries can require several months of arduous rehabilitation and patients face relatively high risks of developing Failed Back Surgery Syndrome (FBSS), which is the worsening or continuation of symptoms following surgery. Those who undergo minimally invasive procedures can often resume daily activities within a matter of weeks and face a lower risk of developing FBSS.

    What Now?

Whether there are nonsurgical treatments you haven't yet utilized, or you're interested in undergoing a minimally invasive procedure in lieu of an open-spine surgery, you should consult with your physician.

When it comes to following jewelry trends, it pays to observe clothing trends. More often than not, jewelry that is "in" looks great with the latest in clothing. This season is no exception. Oversized, loose fitting shirts are very trendy right now and the perfect accessories for these shirts are pendant necklaces. What's great about pendant necklaces is the endless amount of options that can fit into any budget. You can splurge on or two luxurious pieces, and then pile up your jewelry collection with a ton of more inexpensive styles.

One of the first pendant styles that is really hitting the runways are medallions. This style is just one simple gold or silver chain with a beautifully designed round medallion. When choosing a medallion pendant necklace, the bolder the better. You can find some gorgeous designs with brightly colored stones set into settings that resemble shields. Another option is flower shaped medallions which can add a wonderful bit of femininity to your look. If you want a more earthy look, go for a necklace with a leather cord and a medallion made with natural stones like slate and amber. Just remember, when purchasing a medallion necklace bigger is better. Chunky jewelry is still as hot as ever.

Another classic style that you can never go wrong with is either a heart pendant or a key pendant. Heart pendants have been around for decades and their style has evolved. Key pendants on the other hand are a more recent trend but incredibly timeless. When selecting a heart pendant, creative lines and simplicity is the key. Go with a single heart or two small hearts intertwined. There are styles that even have a diamond or other gemstone set within the heart. You will be able to wear a simple necklace like this every day. Key pendants on the other hand lend themselves a bit more to the vintage trend. They look gorgeous in either gold or silver and are beautiful when there are few keys strung together on the same chain. Find keys that have striking designs on the ends that are guaranteed to catch everyone's eye.

If you are looking for a pendant necklace that is simple and chic and can go with a beautiful gown or cocktail dress then go for gemstones. Whether you buy real gemstones or go with man made, it makes no difference. Pick out your favorite color gemstone and find a pendant in a very simple setting. Most times, single gemstone pendants look best when you can hardly see the setting. Gemstone pendants look stunning when they are cut in a teardrop shape and strung on a fine chain. Don't forget to look at pearls as well. There are some gorgeous pearl pendants that feature a single pearl "hung" from a dome shaped setting. This is a great way to jazz up a very traditional stone.

One more perfect choice for pendant necklaces is the charm necklace. These are fabulous vintage looking pieces. They usually feature a cluster of fun designs strung on a very long chain. These necklaces look great with a loose fitting, long plain shirt. When it comes to charm pendants, you can find them in just about any design imaginable. Go for fun and funky when picking out a charm necklace. Find pendants that have elements like feathers, hearts, keys, horseshoes or flowers. This chunky piece of jewelry is sure to jazz up any outfit day or night.

Branding is a hot topic these days. It's not only related to products, but to the "brand" of celebrities, political campaigns, and even cities. What is a brand anyway?

Let's clear up some misconceptions. Branding is not the logo, or the tagline, or the celebrity face. This would be branding at it's shallowest.

The reason that great brands thrive is because of something much more than a huge advertising budget and slick marketing campaigns. People and communities are attracted by shared values. Great brands know what their values are and not only communicate them, but demonstrate these values at every level of their operations.

Within every great brand is an implied "promise". This promise is called the core brand message. It is the one thing that the organization can consistently deliver on, day in and day out. It has to be authentic. Imagine if FedEx didn't get your package there overnight, or Starbucks made a lousy cup of coffee!

It is this authenticity and reliability that builds trust with the brand's constituency. Trust compounds over time; a great brand will grow because of this compounding effect on its relationship with the communities it serves. Great brands define and express their values; create a core brand message they consistently deliver on; and convey and demonstrate these values and messages effectively and congruently.

So how can you benefit from this type of approach?

Branding works when it is adapted by the whole organization. This means that the brand is communicated through every point of contact internally and externally. There are many ways an organization can send out mixed messages.

When a complete branding program is introduced, all communications focus on the same consistent message; stakeholders and employees have branding guidelines for all of their communications and interactions with the community; and suppliers such as consultants, public relations, and promotions agencies have proper direction.

What a great brand is made of - the components of consistency:

    1. Core values are the cornerstones of a great brand.

Your organization already has certain values it adheres to - have they been articulated and clarified? Focusing on the 3-4 core values your organization has is helpful in determining what you communicate and how you interact in the world.

    2. The core brand message is a statement that includes your "brand promise".

What is the one thing that you can deliver on regardless of the circumstances? What can you always be counted on for? Keep in mind this is not a guarantee, but rather a promise to deliver on a consistent basis.

    3. The brand personality is a way to personalize and humanize an organizational brand.

People interact with people, not conceptual legal entities. What is the brand personality of your organization? Is it young or middle aged? Scholarly or hip? Traditional or trend-setting?

    4. The brand icons are all of the visual and audio symbols that communicate who you are.

The logo is only one aspect of this iconography - it also includes all print, online, broadcast media communications and promotions.

Branding is something that takes place in the heart. It's a relationship that is built on trust and consistency. It's the promise in an on-going relationship between the organization and its constituency. It is built over time and compounds with time. It can be mythic and enduring, or it can be weak and superfluous.

What is the inherent strength of your brand? What do you deliver on? And what values does your organization demonstrate and live through?
